Can someone please explain to me why Rio’s last name isn’t Manolo?
Because it REALLY seems like his last name is Manolo.
Like, sure, it could have been some alias he gave Boomer. But that whole professional relationship isn’t very clear and Boomer appears to know him a lot better here than he did in season 1. He knows he’s a “solid guy,” meaning he expects Rio’s word to be historically good, presumably from previous interactions. They evidently made some sort of deal and Rio wanted him out rather than having him taken care of on the inside, which would have been much quicker and easier. This all implies that Boomer gained knowledge of Rio’s real name and him using the name Manolo may be reliable information.
And would Rio really hide his last name? I would imagine he’s known to law enforcement and to his fellow “coworkers” by his actual last name. Beth and Ruby don’t seem too surprised by the use of the name Manolo. They’re more skeptical about the “solid guy” assertion.
If you compare this to the way Beth reacted when she found out his first name is Christopher, there’s a marked difference to her demeanor.
Visible surprise here. She was expecting the name Rio (not Brian,) but the neighbor said Christopher. And then confirmed the apartment number so Beth knew it was him.
I also want to point out that if you google the name Manolo…
…the first result is this random Wikipedia page that says a sculptor named Manolo’s real name was Manuel Martinez. Coincidence? Probably. 😂 This probably just discredited my entire argument and made me seem insane. 🤪😜
Anyway, thank you for coming to my wild conspiracy theory weekend. What do you all think? Manolo – real last name, or alias?

advice i think we should tell children is that when adults say stuff like ‘now that i’m an adult i get really excited about stuff like coffee tables and bathrooms and rugs etc’ they don’t mean ‘and now i don’t care about blorbo and squimbus from my childhood tv shows anymore’ bc your average adult still loves all the same pop culture stuff they always did; they just have a greater appreciation for the mundane as well. growing up just means you can enjoy life twice as much now. you can get really excited about a new stuffed animal AND about a new kitchen sponge. peace and love

no offence but the reason tumblr is “dying” is, well, yes, of course the cursed like/reblog ratio and the change in user behaviour (because of people being used to how instagram and tiktok work) BUT also the lack of weekly shows. i say it with my whole chest, they don't produce captivating and engaging stupid weekly tv shows anymore because streaming killed that so you have spikes of activity here when Something happens in general fandom or up to three days after a new season of whatever drops and then it's a wasteland. this is obviously an old woman yelling at a cloud missing supernatural and the vampire diaries and pretty little liars and all these other shows type of post but honestly give me back weekly tv shows where i have something to watch for 40 minutes almost every day of the week after work so then i can read and reblog it on tumblr give it back for the sake of my sanity

Sometimes, I'm sad about the hobbies I have abandoned or have been too intimidated to pick up. But... what good is it, to just beat myself up over that? My bass is sitting in the corner, patiently waiting, and so is everything else. My life isn't over, and I've got nothing to answer to. I'm wading through a sea of time, and I'll pick up the seashells that interest me, and it's okay to put one back in the sand. The current's waves will bring it back to me if that is to be destiny. I can not hate myself into productivity, so I must swim on.
I think the same can apply to anybody. It's okay if you have dropped something, such as a hobby or passion. Human beings are like that sometimes, it isn't reasonable for you to beat yourself into submission. You, too, can not hate yourself into being a well-rounded person. You must cultivate it like you would a garden - with patience, time, and care.

any time i see *steve has a problem he doesn't tell robin about because it would be awkward/she wouldn't understand/whatever* in fics i'm like. BZZZZZT! WRONG! wrong answer! from the top, you can do better! if steve had a problem robin would drop everything to help him. if steve's house exploded she wouldn't be like Ahhhh shit i'm homeless now what do i do. no. she would go to robin. and tell her. "My house exploded :(" and robin would be like "don't even fucking worry about it babe (platonic) my bedroom has room for two. i'll sneak you food, you'll be like my little pet groundhog that i'm keeping in a plastic tote" "your what? did you have a pet groundhog?" "i entertained fantasies of it when i was five. don't distract me" and there. problem solved. they'd go about like that for every problem they have because they're cool and semi-functional like that

MORE SNEK PEKS - next update is going smoothly as it's only 4 pages. They're big build up pages ;) We even get to see the ever rare Toriel!
I do also need to sketch out a lot of future panels and cut down on some story things, so I'll need to focus on those more in the coming weeks.
