Ominis paced the Undercroft. His head had been an absolute mess since their last meeting. All his life he’d never wanted to have sex with anyone, the fear of producing an heir or subjecting a woman to his family being far too much for his sanity.
But now all he could think about was what she felt like inside, how badly he wanted to take her sweet, soft innocence and make her cry out in pleasure while wrapped around him. How badly he wanted to hold her in his arms and drown in her incredible scent.
He’d thought about sex but never this much in his entire life. His thoughts as he laid in bed awake trying to sleep was what her possible reaction would be, would she also want it? What would become of them if they went farther, could he protect her from his family if they decided to court?
His head lifted when he heard the whirring clocks, he straightened, clasping his hands behind his back and listening to each echoing boot step as she came closer. “Ominis. I got your owl…”
He held out his hand, causing her to stop. “C-can I say what I have to say?” After a beat of silence and a small yes he continued. “I-I haven’t been able to stop thinking of you. Maybe it’s because we’ve suddenly become rather intimate…but…I find myself feeling a strong desire for you. One that can’t be quenched while alone in my bed at night.”
He took a deep breath, trying to calm the harsh hammering of his heart. “I…want to ask if you’d be open to courtship. I know my family is less than desirable to be associated with but I could keep it secret from them. We could just tell our close and trusted friends…or if you’re not okay with that maybe…it stays strictly physical and secret.”
He wished now more than ever to have sight, to see her face…her silence made his stomach tighten into harsh uncomfortable knots. But when she finally spoke he couldn’t hold back a sigh of relief. “Ominis…I…you want to become physical?”
His cheeks reddened, a stutter marring his speech. “W-well I…y-yes I suppose. I-I-I mean I’d love to court you first but I…can’t stop thinking of whatever we've been doing together. I-I want more, however you’ll give it to me.”
She stepped closer to him, with each step his heart crashed against his ribcage, threatened to burst from his chest. To his surprise the pounding of his heart was the furthest thing from his mind as her hand caressed his cheek and soft lips met his.
He stayed absolutely still till she pressed deeper into the kiss, then his hands were in her hair, pulling her close as their kiss deepened. It’s a slow and sensual kiss, no urgency behind it, just raw emotions.
When the kiss broke they were both red cheeked and breathless. He was still holding her close, afraid that if he let her go she may dissolve into thin air.
She caressed his cheek again and he could hear her smile. “Ominis…I’d love to be yours. W-we can figure out how to manage your family as we go but I want this, us.”
Ominis swept her up into his arms and she giggled happily. He kissed her again, still holding her in his arms, maneuvering them deeper into the Undercroft. He sank to his knees and laid her on the pile of blankets, breaking the kiss. “D-do you want to go further?”
A small yes had him diving forward, lips crashing against hers. This kiss was a hungry, burning, all consuming wildfire that had her clawing at his chest, pulling him down against her.
He hovered above her, one hand awkwardly coming up to paw at the front of her shirt. A wave of heat pooled in his groin, sparking to life the need he harbored for her. She hummed softly which he took as a good sign, groping a bit harder and seeking her nipple through the fabric.
She breathlessly took his hand, helping him slide it up under her shirt and their kiss was broken as he moaned just from the feeling of her chemise. He was rock hard against her thigh, grinding himself greedily against her.
He pinched her nipple a bit harder than intended, causing her to yelp. He looked up sheepishly, apologizing before abandoning her breast and sliding his hand down to her skirt, hiking it up around her waist.
He groaned as his fingers met her wet center, dipping in to collect her wetness before rolling over her clit. She sagged against the blankets, moaning needily as he picked up speed.
Her back arched and Ominis pushed himself up as best as he could, still rubbing her as he attempted to free his aching erection one handed. He paused to rub a flattened palm over himself, desperate to soothe the urgency.
Once he’d accomplished freeing himself he was pushing against her, awkwardly leaning over her while trying to line himself up between her legs.
She tensed and he stopped, going back to rolling her sensitive bud under the pads of his fingers. “No rush darling, it’s okay. Sorry for my eagerness.”
She clutched his shirt, lifting her hips to chase the feeling he was giving her. She was gasping and moaning, writhing beneath him and if he didn’t know better he’d think she was about to cum.
His suspicion was confirmed when he nudged against her entrance again and she wriggled her hips against him, he could feel her spasming even just pressed against her entrance. His eager fingers sped up on her clit as a sob caught in her throat.
He pushed past the thin barrier of her virginity, turning her blissful sounds into a sharp cry. His attention was divided between the blissful heat he was slowly shoving into and petting her hair gently while cooing encouragements. “S-such a good girl. Gods, you feel so tight.”
She whimpered, pulling him closer which was his only sign to keep pushing into her almost too tight heat. His control waned when he lifted his hand to feel her face and caught a wet tear sliding over her cheek.
He tried to pull out and she shook her head, tugging at his shirt. “D-don’t stop. M’fine…please.”
He didn’t stop, instead focusing on rubbing her sensitive nub while lurching his hips forward inside of her. His thrusts were jerky and untimed but he still felt her clench around him and heard her whimper in pleasure.
A sick satisfaction and sense of pride took over him when he smelled the tang of blood and felt the slickness of it coating him. He shoved all the way inside, feeling her clenched tightly while he pulled out and shoved back in.
A choked moan escaped her throat and she clung tighter to him. They rocked together, finding a rhythm where he pulled out and pushed back in. He was much longer than she’d imagined so he bottomed out every time, causing a gasp when his tip kissed her cervix.
His elbows were planted on either side of her head as he rut into her, hips moving faster and more fervently. He grunted and groaned till finally he stilled and spilled inside of her, filling her up.
Her cheeks were red as she laid beneath him, embarrassed and shy after feeling him absolutely unload inside of her. He panted, adjusting so he could hold her face. “M’fuck I’m sorry. I couldn’t help it. Don’t worry, won’t stop till you’re done too.”
She couldn’t believe he was still hard, his hand moved down to rub her clit again and his thrusts resumed, gentle and calculated. It wasn’t long before her moans and arching back indicated she was close. He felt her body language and soon she was clutching onto him, whimpering and begging. “G-gonna…m’gonna cum! Ominis!”
She did, clenching around him, she exploded in blissful orgasmic pleasure. He grit his teeth, forcing himself to stay calm as she whimpered and pleaded through her orgasm as it tore through her.
He held her, staying buried inside of her as he soothed her and caressed her. Petting her hair and praising her. “You’re so incredible. This is perfect. Gods I can’t believe your mine. All mine.”
She blushed, relaxing in his touch as he held her, basking in his warmth and soothing touch, taking in the fact that this all started with her catching him in the act down in this exact spot.

“Do you have something planned after school?” Taehyung asked as you bit into the sandwich he bought you for lunch. You hummed gobbling the food in hurry to answer him “yea” you grumbled “I’ve got this parent meeting” you sighed.
Taehyung sighed too “and you?” you asked before grabbing your drink. Taehyung thought for awhile before nodding. “yea. I have something planned” he swallowed his grilled meat. Before you could ask him about his project, he cut you off reminding the time “baby, it’s time. go on, don’t wanna be late, do you?” you shook your head whining “argh! see you later then” you pouted. Taehyung got up, pecking your lips “see you later my love” he took you into his arms, hugging you tightly.
You were at the door of your classroom greeting the parents arriving for the meeting, telling them to take a sit and wait until everyone was present to start. You looked down at the cute little boy next to you staring toward the door waiting. “hey, where’s papa Jimin?” you asked softly bending down a little to caress his head gently.
Jimin was actually one of your best friend and also your husband’s. “oh I forgot to tell you.. but daddy told me he can’t come today..sorry auntie” you looked down at him confused. Why didn’t Jimin say anything? you wondered. “oh i-” before you could continue he added “but daddy told me that unc-”
“hello! Sorry for being late. I got stuck in traffic” a familiar deep voice interrupted your conversation with the little kid. Too familiar. “Taehyung?”
“Hi Mrs. Kim” he smirked making you scoffed. “Jimin couldn’t make it, so I kindly offered to come instead at the parent’s meeting. It’s kind of important, isn’t it?” he said patting Jimin’ son’s head. You sighed deeply “hey cutie, you can go play with your little friends, hm?”. He nodded happily before running out of your sight.
You glanced at Taehyung crossing your arms over your chest. “Was that what you planned?”. Taehyung chuckled “Jimin was a little tired so I just wanted to help him out” he shrugged. “Is that so?” you arched an eyebrow “and maybe I wanted to come check out how pretty my nephew’s teacher is” he said, a smirk decorating his lips. You slapped his arm making him whine playfully “idiot”. You muttered before walking away to stand in the center of the classroom.
.
.
.
After talking about general topics and replying to each of the questions you were asked, you brought out the issue you’re meeting every day with your pupils : the homework. Some of your pupils often came back at school with their homework not being done. You explained to the parents that helping them at home was really important. They’re still very young and they need support . Giving them advices on how to help them, suggesting them some good books and websites they can use if they’re facing difficulties. Many of the parents understood and cooperated saying that they will try their best to help more.
But one of the mother interrupted you impolitely “why don’t you do extra-hours? You’re the teacher here, you’re the one paid to educate our children” she said with an unpleasant tone. You were taken aback, speechless, like the other parents. You didn’t know what to say or what to do.
“extra-hours?” Taehyung scoffed. “excuse-me sir?” the woman turned to face your annoyed-husband. You internally prayed for Taehyung to shut up and not make a scene at your workplace, but-
“Well, M'aam Cruella de vil, I think Mrs. Kim is not only a teacher. She has her own life after school like every one of us here. She probably has someone waiting for her at home. Or she just wants to do other things than to deal with your child!” Taehyung said annoyed making a few parents laughed quietly.
“who are you to talk like that?” the haughty woman said offended by the meany nickname. “she has a mouth, she can speak for herself. who do you think you are to talk for her?” she said standind up angrily, Taehyung stood up aswell “well, let me tell you that I’m-”.
You cleared your throat catching both their attention, the present spectators immersed into the little altercation.
“please Mrs. Wang, and Sir” you glared at him before continuing “please calm down. I- I’ll find a solution to this problem” you gulped gesturing them to sit back. Taehyung threw a nasty look at the villian female as he sat down again. “good” you sighed relieved.
.
.
Your meeting continued, you found a way to deal with the problematic woman, doing your best to stay polite and professional…
It went well. You announced the end of the reunion. You felt Taehyung’s eyes on you the whole time. He didn’t joke when he said he came to check you out.
“Well thank you so much for coming today. If any of you want to talk individually about their child or have any other questions, feel free to stay” you smiled shaking hands with the parents leaving.
There is one thing you didn’t notice. Even tho Taehyung spent his time admiring you during the meeting and even had time for a"little" fight, he didn’t miss the way one of your pupil’s father was staring at you in a “weird” way. He glared at the mid-aged man, this one staying so he could talk to you.
You accompagned the last mother to the door waving at her, coming back to your desk gesturing the man to come.
Taehyung's eyes didn’t leave him, watching every of his moves. He didn’t feel this man..an untrustworthy man. Who the fuck he thought he was?
Taehyung groaned sitting at the back of the class, leg bouncing as he tried to calm down, jealousy rising up. He closed his eyes taking deep breaths.
First, this arrogant bitch, and now this unscrupulous pervert old man.
“Mrs. Kim” he started with a flirtatious voice “I just wanted to say that Mark likes you a lot. He’s always talking about you at home and about how of a good teacher you are” he said complimenting you. “oh ahah. I really like Mark too, he’s such a smart and polite boy” you answered smilling. But you couldn’t help but feel awkward at the way he was looking you up and down nonchalantly. Making Taehyung's jealousy and anger grew more and more.
“And.. I was wondering if you were single.. you’re really pretty and..sexy at the same time” he bit his lip. You just wanted to throw up in his face. Was he really thinking he was attractive or something? because the view was just sickening.
He approached you slowly making you back away “excuse me sir, but this is really inappropriate and disrespectful!"you exclaimed enraged and shocked. The man laughed, his hand getting closer to your waist, you were ready to punch him hard and kick him in the groin if he dared touch you but you didn’t have to when you heard the mid-aged man groaned in pain as his back hit the wall violently ”how the fuck do you dare touching her?!“ Taehyung yelled grabbing him by the collar of his shirt, his fist raised in front of the father ’s face.
”who the fuck are you?!! let me go bastard! get your fucking hands off me!“ Taehyung laughed sarcastically loud ”who am I? Who the fuck am I?!“ he grabbed the man face tightly with one hand, fingersnails digging into his cheeks ”I’m Taehyung.. Kim Taehyung! I’m her husband and she’s my fucking wife!! My wife! Mine!“ he pointed toward you, his voice laced with possessiveness.
The man stayed silent for a moment before pushing Taehyung away to get out of his grip. Taehyung let go of his face and went to grab his neck squeezing it tightly. Perhaps too tightly as the man’s face started turning a deep red.
”try to touch her again and I’ll break your arms and legs“ he practically growled, throwing the pervert man onto the floor, this one groaning again. He got up straightening his shirt ”keep the slut for yourself". Taehyung’s hands balled into fists ready to beat the living shit out of him, but you were fast to grab his forearm “Taehyung! please!” you shook your head as you both watched the man leaving the room “he’s not worthy-”
Taehyung turned to you shock written all over his face “this asshole called you a slut and tried to put his nasty hands on you! He tried to touch my wife!” he looked disgusted. “ I swear if i see him again, i think i will go to jail for murder!”
“Taehyung..” you grabbed his hand, thumb caressing the back of it. He pulled you in his strong arms, the force of his pull making you collide hard on his chest. “Just imagine what this pervert would have done to you if I wasn’t here” he said the last words coming out quietly. You shushed him looking up at him “but you were here”. He sighed shaking his head pulling you closer to kiss you softly.
You detached from the kiss “ and you know , i can d-” he let a breathy laugh as he put a finger on your mouth “I know what you’re going to say. You can defend yourself and you’re an independent woman and all” you nodded chuckling “yup”.
You smiled cupping his cheek “let’s go home huh?”. He nodded “well, let’s drop Jimin jr. at his house first” he chuckled.
.
.
.
You sighed pleasantly as you exit the bathroom from a good warm shower. A towel wrapped around you comfortably. Taehyung coming out of it too some minutes later, his towel loose and low around his hips.
You were searching for some underwear in your closet when you felt Taehyung’s hands on your hips. You smiled when he pulled you on his bare chest, stealing a back hug “i love you” he whispered leaving a lovingly kiss on your cheek. “ i love you Taehyung” your heart melting as you let your body relax in his embrace.
After a pleasant long silent, Taehyung shifted a bit behind you making you turn around his arms still around you. His eyes went to your lips, one thing in his mind. He lowered his face a little envelopping your lips in a sweet kiss. Your hands travelled up to his neck, fingers playing with the little curls at the back of his head.
Taehyung backed you slowly toward the bed until the back of your knees touched the edge of it. You let your bodies fell on the mattress, the soft sheets welcoming you. You both giggled when you bumped your heads together. “sorry” Taehyung said rubbing your forehead still giggling. You laughed rubbing his.
He smiled looking into your eyes “you did great by the way”. You closed your eyes thinking about Mrs. Wang “ such a pain in the ass” you groaned. “you’re strong to deal with such ..specimens” you laughed closing your eyes.
“don’t want to ruin the mood but..I hate this dude. I just want to..argh” he dropped his head on your chest defeatedly. “I hate the way he looked at you. It was just disgusting. And the way he talked to you..” you noticed the way he gripped the sheet hard trying to calm down. You stroked his back slowly, hands going up and down his spine making him shiver and relax on top of you. You felt his heart beating slower “it’s ok babe” you whispered kissing his temple.
“but this asshole was right on something.. you’re pretty and sexy” he smiled onto your skin. You laughed slapping him on the back of his head. “and you’re also the best teacher ever” he left a light kiss on your collarbone. The compliment heating up your cheeks “I understand why your pupils love you a lot. You’re an amazing teacher. So kind, patient and loving.” You smiled “thank you babe”.
“Y’know ,recently I’m having some difficulties with mathematics ..perhaps, could you teach me?” he said smirking. “oh my god Taehyung shut up” you said ears burning making him laugh.
“hmm you’re mine” he mumbled, lips caressing your skin, leaving little kisses. His hands ready to take your towel off of your body but looked at you for permission first. You nodded helping him to get rid of it. “And i’m yours” he started nibbling on the soft flesh of your breasts, painting little red and purple flowers on the area. A little souvenir , to remind you where his lips were.
His mouth travelled up to your neck, your pulse accelerating “Taehyung” his name leaving your throat as sweet as honey. The concerned one just hummed against your -just found- sweet spot making you moan softly. The noises coming out of you turning him on.
Taehyung bit lightly on the skin of you neck making you gripped his bicep, head turning to the side to give him more access. “you smell so good” he said nose deep into the crook of your neck.
His boner was pressed uncomfortably under the towel still covering him, he was so turn on that he didn’t notice he was unconsciously grinding down on you. He let out a soft groan when he felt your warm hands sliding down his smooth chest to the towel. He helped you, throwing it away on the carpeted floor.
He spread your legs making room for him to lay between them. He lowered himself to connect his lips with yours for the umpteenth time. His hands went to your sides, one of them cascading down to your thigh to lift and place it over his waist.
Taehyung ruted foward against your womanhood with a low moan “shit” he swore. Your essence on the tip of his erection already driving him insane. He teased your entrance, rubbing his manhood on your glistening lips making you whined “stop teasing!”
He slapped the head of his cock on your throbbing clit teasingly, making you hiss,, the sudden action making you jolt.“you ready darling?” he asked hand placed on your cheek. “yes”.
Taehyung positioned himself at your entrance before entering you slowly making sure he wasn’t hurting you. “you good my love?” he asked when he completely bottomed out.
“don’t worry I- i am” you reassured him. Taehyung started moving making you whimper. Thrusting in and out slowly but firmly, he took his time making love to you. It felt so good , too good.
He was so gentle and caring. Often asking you if you were good. He enjoyed his time painting your upper body with hickeys. “everyone will know you’re mine now” . He whispered backing up a bit to admire his masterpiece “perfect..”.
His grip on your waist was so tight that you were sure it’ll let bruises.
Your body was adorned with marks he created. Some bigger than the others. Some darker. It was just .. pretty. All marked up by him, the thought made him twitched inside you.
Taehyung couldn’t get enough of the way your warm velvelty walls clench around him time to time, squeezing his cock perfectly. He bit your earlobe lightly before whispering sweet nothings in your ear. Telling you how good you’re doing, how much you’re beautiful.. and how much he loves you.
Your hands found his hair, fingers running through it and pulling on it harshly when he brushed against your sweet spot. You threw your head back, the combination of his hands wandering all over your body gently and his lips pressed on your neck made you feel lightheaded.
The way his hard-on kept hitting the spot that made you scratch his back “fuck Taehyung! r-right there!”
“you know seeing you with all those kids around makes me feel some type of way. You’d be such a good mother” he bit his lips “ you’d look so fucking adorable and hot pregnant.. walking around carrying my children in your tummy f-fuck-”
Taehyung moaned loudly at a particular tightening of your wall around him.
“You’d like that my love? huh.. want me to put my babies inside you? Make you the mother of my children? You want that my love?” He kept asking, lust fogging his mind.
He could only picture you pregnant. Big baby bump.. fuck- he was probably drooling by now.
Your walls started convulsing around him, announcing your climax.
“I’m gonna-” he took your hands placing them on each side of your head , intertwined his fingers with yours “ I love you princess f-” he whispered.
Holding hands while making love was a gest of pure love , it meant a lot for the both of you . “Taehyung!! I’m c-coming!” You nearly screamed as you came around him. Eyes closed, eyebrows furrowed, mouth slightly ajar, his name the only thing leaving your mouth.. you looked so good to him.
You looked up at your breathtaking husband, eyes half-opened ”cum for me Taehyung. Cum inside me.. give me your children“ you breathed out.
A sudden wave of adrenaline rushed through his veins as he hold your hip still, going a little bit faster. The vein of his neck prominent, little beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
Your words reasoning in his head, threw him over the edge of his orgasm. Taehyung cummed, after some firm thrusts, with a loud moan following by your name, his hot cum warming you inside, filling you up to the brim.
You hummed softly hugging him as he buried his head into the crook of your neck, a tiny kiss placed on the marked skin.
"I love you so much” he smiled heart melting. “I love you too”.

Why Mindfulness Is a Key Practice for Writers
Tumblr media
A writer’s brain is chaos most of the time. We are all over the place, ping-ponging amongst a bramble of curious thoughts and half-snatched ideas. It can get pretty overwhelming in there, and this can distract us from our ultimate goal: to make something amazing that people love.
More than that, over-cogitation can cause burnout. When you’re on alert all the time, puzzling through difficult passages and plot holes, then you’ll quickly find yourself with no energy to continue your work.
But what if the antidote is to be head empty, no thoughts? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you could simply rocket into the blissful void of Orange Cat Energy – whenever you want?
Well you can, my friend. That’s where mindfulness comes into play.
What Is Mindfulness?
I think everyone can benefit from mindfulness, but many get very intimidated by the concept because they have preconceived notions of what it actually means.
Mindful defines it as such:
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.
That’s really all it is. You live precisely in the moment, not thinking about the future and not fretting over the past.
That means you’re not worrying about your writer’s block or spinning yourself into circles about whether you are a good writer (you are) or if you will get published someday (I believe in you!). You just are … being.
Why Is Mindfulness Important for Writers?
Tumblr media
Your brain is an energy-hungry organ. It gobbles up one-fifth of your body’s nutritional input, despite being only 2% of your body weight.
That three-pound succubus is voracious, but there comes to a point where it is expending so much energy that it tires you out. This is especially true if you are going through any stressors or have subconscious frustrations that take up even more of your neural expenditure.
Just as your body needs time to recover from a strenuous exercise, so too does your mind need a bit of a reset. While sleep is awesome, it is also a time when your brain is cleaning itself out, flushing toxins, and building new connections. Yes, your poor brain really doesn’t get much of a break – ever.
But you can provide that break through mindfulness. During mindfulness, you don’t focus on the higher-level thinking that creativity demands; instead, you consider the little things that make life pleasant, emerging from this void space with a newfound appreciation and focus.
The Benefits of Mindfulness on Your Craft
Many of us writers want everything we do to help our work in some way; we live and breathe our writing, and we don’t want to waste a second without learning something new. And that’s great! Mindfulness can help with that, too.
When you take time each day to be a real part of this world, you’ll find you notice things that you never thought about before, such as the soft sound of snowing plinking down or the color of a nearby roof when the sun hits it just right. This can be tremendous fodder for building even more sumptuous descriptions into your writing.
Diving down into your inner self also allows you to feel how feelings really feel in your body. A prickle of irritation at a loud sound makes your neck tingle; contentment fills your stomach with a warm heaviness. Really focusing on something makes me feel as if I’m leaning into a spectral wind, and the edges of my vision darken into nothingness.
Knowing how each of these things impact you can help you build that into characterizations and connect with readers in a very meaningful, visceral way.
And of course, a stray thought about how to move your plot forward may appear. You can note it, appreciate it, and file it away for later, moving back into your comfy space of full attention on every sensation.
Ways to Practice Mindfulness
Tumblr media
Mindfulness doesn’t need to involve donning a saffron robe and chanting over a brazier filled with fragrant herbs – though it totally can if you’ve got the gumption. Go off!
However, most of us have other stuff to do with our lives and can’t head off to a monastery whenever we feel a bit work-heavy. Here’s how you can incorporant a sprinkle of serenity into your everyday life: custom-tailored to the writer mindset.
Meditation
Meditation is an excellent way to practice mindfulness, but when I started out, I found silent meditation to be almost more anxiety-inducing than not meditating at all. While I’ve built up my tolerance for it, I still don’t like it; instead, I prefer mantra meditation.
With mantra meditation, you repeat a phrase, silently or out loud, over and over again. If you are doing it religiously, you are supposed to recite it 108 times, but you don’t have to if you don’t want to.
I am a Nichiren Buddhist, so I use the mantra “nam myoho renge kyo;” however, there are many lists of excellent mantras you can use instead. You can also make your own in your native tongue, but I have found that reciting something in a different language makes it easier to turn my mind off.
Mantra meditation works for a very simple reason: it is neurologically impossible to focus on two things at once. Even if you feel like you’re having two thoughts simultaneously, you’re actually not. If you are reciting a mantra, you’re not thinking about anything else, and this can clear up mental blockage.
No need to get the words perfect if you are practicing for relaxation. Listen to an audio of someone chanting it, and then go as slow or as fast as you want. Many people like the most simple mantra – “om” – because it requires no training whatsoever: just one long, drawn out syllable.
Take a deep breath, say “om,” and draw it out until your lungs are completely empty. There! Don’t you feel better?
Forest Bathing
Tumblr media
Nature is all around us, even if we often ignore it. The otherworldly glory of a spiderweb, the curious antics of a squirrel, or the fragile grace of a deer browsing can all be magical experiences – if only you’ll let them.
Forest bathing as a concept is based in the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, which translates literally to forest bath. All it means is to spend some time outdoors with your phone off, relaxing and taking in the wilderness with all five of your senses.
Studies demonstrate that forest bathing helps to lower the heartrate and reduce stress. There is something innately healing about being surrounded by greenery, getting some fresh air, and appreciating the warm sunlight on your skin.
Of course, not all of us have two hours to go meander through a forest, or even have one within close proximity. And that’s okay! You can still benefit from nature bathing: consider it a low-dose form of nature bathing.
I like to sit by my living room window and watch the animals go by. Through taking the time to put down my phone and admire the world, I have seen the most beautiful sights, like a spider taking down a fly within seconds or a groundhog nibbling on my dandelions. These sound mundane, but as artists, we have a natural sense of whimsy that helps to make even the smallest experiences into a magical, world-grounding moment.
Just a few minutes of paying close attention to the nature outside, whether that is clouds skirting by or grass waving gently in the wind, can do marvels for your soul.
Cleaning
It’s an old stereotype that writers will organize their home top to bottom before they’ll actually sit down at their desk and write, but honestly? There’s a reason.
By organizing your physical space, you are reducing your mental burden.
The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners explains:
Bursting cupboards and piles of paper stacked around the house may seem harmless enough. But research shows disorganisation and clutter have a cumulative effect on our brains.   Our brains like order, and constant visual reminders of disorganisation drain our cognitive resources, reducing our ability to focus.   The visual distraction of clutter increases cognitive overload and can reduce our working memory.   In 2011, neuroscience researchers using fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) and other physiological measurements found clearing clutter from the home and work environment resulted in a better ability to focus and process information, as well as increased productivity.
Now, I am a super messy person: many creatives are. A bit of clutter can be fine, but it can get to a point where it interferes with your happiness and leads to a cluttered mind, too.
You don’t need to become a minimalist, but organization can go a long way, and even washing dishes can help give you a sense of accomplishment that helps you get back to your document. When I feel antsy, I often find myself sweeping the floor, clearing out the cobwebs just as I want to banish those lurking in my brain.
Exercise
Tumblr media
And finally, we get to exercise. Not only does it provide neurogenic benefits, but exercise is a mindful activity: you are focused on your movements and what your body is doing rather than anything outside of the gym.
Whether it is tramping along on a treadmill or lifting weights, you can seriously harm yourself if you’re not paying attention, which forces you to let go of everything else that you’re worried about.
I, being the freak I am, like exercise on hard mode, where I could seriously injure myself if I am not paying attention. As such, I am a huge fan of rock climbing and horseback riding, which are pretty much the ultimate practice of mindfulness. For rock climbing, you must be perfectly aware of your body at all times, down to the tiniest toe placement, or you'll go flying off the wall. And for horseback riding, all you have the space for is Horse, and your love of Horse, and how you'd give up your first-born child if Horse told you to.
Some people get an endorphin rush that provides them with a sense of well-being, but some are unfortunate enough not to experience such happiness, particularly those with chronic fatigue. However, the act of losing yourself in an activity can still provide you with the calm necessary to plow on when you’re done, and that is well worth it.
Mindfulness Shouldn’t Be Difficult
In fact, the more that you practice mindfulness, the more you will find that you enjoy it. This simple work of living with intention will enhance your appreciation for everyday life – and allow you ample mental rest for the hard work of writing.
There’s no need to go on some grand spirit journey to Tibet or an exotic island; you don’t even need a candle, yoga mat, or special incense. You don’t have to set up an altar or make it a spiritual practice at all.
Nearly anything can be a practice in mindfulness if it is done intentionally and with full awareness. Whatever you enjoy doing, stop and take a deep breath, then focus your whole being on that thing.
Don’t multi-task; don’t let your mind wander to other things. Whether that is walking your dog, playing with your children, or sweeping the floor, commit yourself to fully immersing in it. Engage all five senses and pass no judgment on what you feel, whether that is a siren wailing by or the unpleasant perfume of a stranger. Simply note it and let it flow past.
If you find mindfulness difficult, note that too, and accept your current feelings without shame or judgment. It’s okay. That’s part of mindfulness as well.
Now that you're being mindful, perhaps you'll consider purchasing my debut novel?

Tumblr media
When the two of you first met, all it took was a little bit of bacon, and Miche wouldn’t leave your side.
Dog Miche. Not Human Miche, although you were sure it would’ve worked for Human Miche too.
Your whole squad gathered around the wooden picnic table, laughing and cooing as you spent your rare, minuscule meat ration on the random mutt that followed you outside the walls. They gathered together, all too pleased to fawn over your surprise guest. You guessed that he must’ve followed the troops from Wall Maria, but given how far the base was from the walls, you were surprised that the mutt kept up well with the horses. The dog laid on his back, letting your squad rub his tummy as his tongue drooped lazily from his panting jaw.
“That’s a good boy! You’re a Scout puppy, aren’t you?” you babbled, feeding the dog another piece of your rations in exchange for a roll. Your squad cheered for the feat. “I think we have a new squad mascot!” Your soldiers chanted with you, eager to get kisses from your new team member.
Erwin emerged from the gated castle entrance, a light frown on his lips. With night closing in and the commotion he heard outside, he had cause for worry, and when Erwin noticed the circle of soldiers huddled together, he immediately went to investigate. He pushed past your group of chanting squad members into the middle of the commotion. They shot up, snapping into a salute upon recognizing their commander. You followed suit as Erwin reached the center of your little circle. Your rations fell to the ground and were swiftly gobbled up by your new canine friend.
Erwin surveyed the group, pivoting his head slightly to both sides before glancing down. The sight of the dog almost caused him to do a double-take before he returned his attention to you. He shook his head, casting his gaze to the side as he brushed a hand over his mouth.
“Care to explain?” he asked, trying to cover up the hint of a laugh. It wasn’t easy to throw off Commander Erwin. You pursed your lips, attempting to hold back your smile as you continued to salute. Both of you graduated from the same cadet class.
“It is a cute dog, sir!” you exclaimed. The dog sat by your feet with a wagging tail and let out a soft howl. Erwin motioned for you to drop your salute, and you took the opportunity to scoop the mutt up into your arms. He had no protests as his long snout flopped over your shoulder. His tail continued to wag. Erwin stared, brows slightly higher on his forehead than usual as his features painted over with a semblance of amusement. “I would like to propose a new mascot for my squad formally!”
“No dogs in the Survey Corps, Squad Leader,” he said with a pointed expression and began to walk away. Your lips contorted into a round shape, ready to retort. You hurried after him, the dog still blissfully in your arms. Your squad busied themselves with chatter.
“But Commander, this little guy kept up with us all the way from Wall Maria. He made it all the way out here, and if that’s not a Scout dog, I don’t know what is!” You matched Erwin’s pace as he stalked back to base. His cloak blew behind him. He glanced at you from his peripheral.
“There’s no such thing as a Scout dog.” You nearly stopped where you walked, but the disappointment only made you increase your stride.
“Well, this could be the first one!” Erwin shook his head to himself. You jogged until you were in front of him, blocking his path. “Please, Commander. Consider. The Scouts already named him. You’ll want to hear his name!” You turned around so that the dog faced Erwin. He attempted to lick Erwin’s face but missed. You craned your neck to gauge his expression.
Erwin only sighed, considering why he had come outside in the first place. He spoke your name slowly in a tone laced with exasperation. Erwin had a long day and wasn’t about to spend more energy deliberating with you about a squad mascot.
“Commander, please! His name is so funny!” He flickered from your hopeful expression to the dog's goofy smile in your arms. Erwin pinched the bridge of his nose.
“What’s his name?” he asked with a heavy sigh. You flashed him a toothy grin.
“Miche Zac-ca-nine-us!”
And much to Erwin’s own admission, the dog did look strikingly like Miche Zacharius in an indescribable way. They both shared similar sand-colored hair and angular face. The dog even had a long snout paired with the almost striking length of his body. With leggy appendages built for agility, something else about this dog was just so much like Miche Zacharius that Erwin couldn’t quite put his finger on it. He reached up to give the long tuff of fur on Dog Miche’s head a rough ruffle. Another reluctant sigh escaped the tired commander.
“If the dog makes it back with us, we can talk about it.”
***
“You named the dog after me?” Miche, Human Miche, had asked the day you had first returned together. He had approached you where you sat with your new pet, arms coiled over his broad chest. You remembered that day well. He had shed his jacket and cloak to help organize the leftover equipment back into storage.
“Oh, yeah,” you laughed, scratching at the back of your neck. You were still bandaged from reckless injuries you incurred before the Scout’s retreat. The dog wound himself between Miche’s legs, sniffing rigorously at the back of his knee. “Don’t you see the resemblance?” Miche looked down, taking an exaggerated step backward. His actions were in vain as Dog Miche followed, continuing to sniff. The dog even had a middle part. Miche, the man, snorted.
“I can’t say I do.”
“Are you offended?” you asked sheepishly. While you did find the name apt— not to mention extremely hilarious— you understood how letting your squad name a dog after your fellow Squad Leader could easily come off as insulting at best.
“I don’t have a problem with it.”
That had been the extent to which Miche initially confronted you about your new pet, not anticipating the inevitable problem staring him right in the face.
The more you took the speedy canine on expeditions, the more famous he became among the soldiers. Being so small, titans hardly paid attention to your agile mutt. He was the perfect size and speed for delivering messages and small equipment between squads in Erwin’s Long-Distance Enemy Scouting Formation. More than anything else, you suspected that everyone liked having a dog around, but his presence came with one downside…
“Miche!”
Miche glanced up from his work towards Hange. His brow rose as he hummed in response, peaking his head over the heavy cargo boxes in his arms. Hange, meanwhile, had already been tackled by your squad mascot.
“Sorry, Human Miche! Not you!” they laughed between licks to the face. “I meant Dog Miche!” Miche’s lips formed a tight frown.
“Is ‘Human Miche’ really necessary—”
“Oi, Human Miche, we need those over here.” Levi tapped his foot a few feet away from the wagon. He motioned with his head in agitation before walking off. Miche’s nose wrinkled in annoyance as he carefully maneuvered himself from the cargo wagon.
You were coming in the opposite direction. Even on your days off, you came to hang around headquarters, probably because you didn’t have anything better to do. But even so, Miche was used to your standard uniform and always found it an adjustment to see you in civilian clothes. You waved to him with a gentle smile.
“Good afternoon, Human Miche!” He stopped somewhat diagonally to you, a tall stack of cargo balanced expertly in his arms. You looked off to the side to give an energetic wave to Hange, who rolled around on the courtyard ground with Miche the Dog.
“You can just call me Miche…” he almost muttered. You laughed. As you did, a bit of red crept onto Miche’s (the human) cheeks. He truly hadn’t taken offense when you originally named your dog. Rather, the fact that you looked at a cute animal and thought of him made him hopeful for your continued relationship, but he hadn’t imagined his demotion to ‘Human Miche’ by the entire branch being part of that.
“Well, there’s two Miche’s, so Human Miche and Dog Miche!” you giggled, half paying attention as you watched the dog run off with Hange’s goggles. Miche shifted the cargo, the pile teetering for a second before rebalancing. “Besides—” You held his stark blue eyes in your friendly gaze. He almost lost balance of his things again. “He just looks so much like you; everyone’s decided he has dibs.”
The mutt came as if he knew you were talking about him. And before Miche could even respond to your joke— he hoped you were joking— you had taken Hange’s goggles and waved him goodbye. By the time any words formed on his lips, you were already halfway across the courtyard.
***
You came sometime in the middle of the night.
Miche had stayed up with a few other Scouts to play cards around an empty dining table, all of them stopping as you burst through the door. Miche had heard you coming. He knew your frantic steps— he knew your scent— anywhere. He stood as soon as you stepped foot in the room. You were in your slippers. Your night robe was slung over your shoulders, barely hiding your baggy, disheveled clothes.
“Have any of you seen Miche?” You made direct eye contact with Human Miche before shaking your head with a deep blink. “The dog! I mean, my dog! Have you seen him?” Miche was already approaching you. You held the pads of your fingers up to your lips.
“What happened?” he asked with a certain sternness.
“I’ve been calling him for the past half hour, and he hasn’t come back. He’s never not come back when called,” you explained frantically. Miche’s jaw tightened as he offered you a curt nod. He squared his shoulder back to stand a bit taller than he already did.
“I’ll find him.” Miche pushed past you, looking more serious than you have ever seen him before. Shaking off the momentary shock, you let his words sink in. You swiftly followed him, chasing after Miche’s large form as he descended dim stairwells and dark halls.
“What do you mean?” you called after him, finding it difficult to keep up with his large, determined strides. You followed him to the stables before you got an answer. He mounted his horse, once again moving past you. He leaned down to ruffle your hair as he went.
“I’ll find him,” he said before riding into the night.
***
You sat by the stables, anxiously awaiting Miche’s return. The hour he was away felt like a lifetime. When you saw the vague silhouette of his horse from afar, you shot up from the step you were sitting on. You stood in anticipation, holding your breath as he drew nearer. You hurried to him as he approached the stables, able to spot those curtain bangs anywhere.
Sure enough, Miche made good on his promise. Dismounting from his horse, he held a dripping-wet Dog Miche under his arm. Actually, at second glance, both of there were absolutely soaked. Miche plopped your dog into your arms. Your little mutt shivered.
“I found him at the bank of the river. Poor thing must’ve taken a swim.” Miche led his horse back into the stable.
“Are you okay?” you asked, concern palpable in your trembling voice. You maneuvered around the stallion to look at him. Droplets of water poured from his hair. The wetness from your dog’s fur seeped into your shirt. You set him down carefully onto the stone below, commanding him to go to your quarters. With a shake of his fur, Dog Miche trotted towards the building. “Thank you so much, Miche. I feel so bad; you’re absolutely soaked.”
You quickly shrugged off your night robe, clutching it in front of you as you marched into the stable. Miche was just finishing returning his horse when he suddenly turned, almost crashing into you. He recoiled in surprise. You stumbled back, tripping on the hay below your feet, but Miche instinctively caught your wrist. You met his gaze in the dimness, just the fabric of your robe keeping your skin from meeting his.
You looked off, gaining your footing as you offered him your robe. He slowly let you go.
“Thank you for coming to my rescue. I didn’t mean to cause you trouble,” you said in a small voice. Something about your proximity made your words feel too loud.
“No trouble caused.” Miche took your robe gingerly, but as he held it by the shoulders, it became apparent that the single garment wasn’t suited for the job you intended. You tried not to let a cringe overtake your expression. Miche handed the fabric back to you as you muttered apologies.
“We should probably get back inside to get you dried off. I have tea—” You glanced over at the lit exterior of the building, and when you looked back at Miche, he had already removed his shirt. He paused as he wrung it out. A violent splash of water hit the floor from just a single wring. You must’ve made a face because he hummed in question. Mortified at your blatant gawking, you turned. You rubbed the back of your neck. “I mean, if tea sounds good to you. I was just saying… that I have tea.”
The urge to cringe grew stronger.
“Thanks,” you heard Miche say, “I would have to change first.” A pang of embarrassment hit your core, reverberating through your chest. Somehow, this obvious course of action slipped your mind, not to mention that you all lived adjacent to each other.
“Right…” you laughed nervously. You shook your head, hoping to clear whatever clouded thoughts ran through your head. You fiddled with the material of the robe draped over your forearm. “Don’t worry about it, I completely—” Miche let out a deep hum followed by a slow drawl of your name. You perked up in attention.
“I don’t… ahem… I don’t…” Miche trailed off, running a hand through his damp hair. He cleared his throat. “I don’t require any sort of special thanks.” Your eyes knitted together in confusion. You dared to turn slightly toward him. Miche didn’t look you in the eye. His damp shirt sat crooked on his shoulders. Wrinkles from where he wrung the fabric stretched across his torso. “For finding your dog. If that’s why you’ve invited me to yours, it’s not necessary.” You gaped. Miche hung something up on a hook on the wall.
“Of course not! Are you crazy?” you sputtered, toning your voice to a hushed whisper as you remembered the time of day. His eyes widened, palms waving defensively in front of his chest as you whipped at him with your robe. “Christ, Miche, is that what you were expecting?” Your skin burned warm as you struggled to hind words. “Riding out into the dark like that just for—”
“No, not at all!” He’d never spoken so fast, apologies spilling from his lips. “I misunderstood!” He held his arms higher as you stood poised to whack at him again. Your lip quivered from the stress of your tightened muscles. You slowly lowered your makeshift weapon, throwing the robe back over your shoulders as you clutched it closed in front of you.
“Damn right, you did,” you stuttered out, absolutely mortified at the impression you gave.
Silence overtook the two of you. Neither of you dared to move as the sound of nocturnal bugs chirped in the background. Miche’s horse shifted on its hooves. You crossed your arms firmly over your chest.
“Thank you for saving Miche,” you spat out.
“Of course.”
You paused, only taking a moment to nod before fully turning on your heel to return to your quarters. Miche watched as you went, certain that he had completely fumbled the interaction. But much to his surprise, you stopped right at the entrance of the stables.
“When you’ve changed into dry clothes, I will be having tea… which you are welcome to. You know, to get warm.” You didn’t even face him. “I’m sure Miche would love to see you.” You nodded to yourself again. Miche took in a deep breath.
“Alright,” he said, “I’ll see you two soon.”
You headed back with Miche trailing just a short distance behind you.

Dragon Age: Additional Material
I’ve been playing Dragon Age again… multiple times… through DA:O and DA2, but not Inquisition because ugh. And it’s been making me think about marketing, and The Dragon Age Problem.
I would like to call it a Bioware Problem, but it’s not. Bioware does have many problems, but the one I’m dwelling on is pretty unique (within Bioware’s franchises) to Dragon Age – it’s about the multimedia marketing strategy. And don’t get me wrong, they are not alone in this strategy – a lot of producers think it’s a great idea. But I have yet to see it work with anything that is not aimed at selling children’s toys.
The general idea is this: you have one main form of media, which is your expensive driving force. It’s what you pour the money into, it’s what people spend the most money on. But then you use as many other (cheap) media forms as you can to add onto that, adding lore and story and depth, so that people will either seek out that other media, or pick up that media first and become drawn into the main driving force. The idea is that you hit as many things as possible to create a franchise. You’ll hit market share, you’ll have fans grow up with media, you’ll have die-hard fans buy everything regardless of quality, it expands, it grows, it generates income.
Think Hot Wheels, Barbie, Disney… Pokemon was the great success story in this strategy, because they have video games, the anime, multiple manga, trading cards, toys, books, playing cards, jewellery, clothing, homewares, food…
And people have grown up with pokemon, and they’ve given it to their kids, and it continues. So of course all producers think they should emulate Pokemon.
Dragon Age was always kind of intended to be a young adult take on this strategy. They weren’t shy about it. From the very beginning, Dragon Age was supposed to have comic books, novels, they were angling for TV deals, they desperately wanted an MMO to spawn… but they’re just not good at it. Partly because young adults don’t like buying anything, and Bioware’s main audience is young LGBT+ which uh… Pirate Audience, my friends. Partly because adults are not…
Kids are going to buy whatever has their favourite character’s face slapped on it. Quality isn’t as important, because chances are they’ll grow out of it before it breaks. So you can produce lots of cheap merchandise and mark it up and it will be gobbled up by the consumerist market because kids do that. Adults, on the other hand, have bills to pay and lives to live. You want us to buy merchandise, it better either be functional, really cool, or at least exceptional quality. So yeah, not great for consumerism.
So they focussed on additional media, and you see them pushing this agenda with Dreadwolf now, as they say ‘you have to read/watch/consume this extra stuff to understand the story!’
Don’t get me wrong, it doesn't not work. Some people will consume the additional media, but I’ve never heard of someone coming in to the franchise from these sources. And while I have seen people gush about the shipping (because Bioware knows their fanbase), outside that the most positive reaction I’ve seen to additional material is a kind of… begrudging acceptance. Like ‘yeah, well, I want to get as much lore as I can, so I guess I need this.’
And so I find it obnoxious, not just from a fan perspective, but also as someone on the edges of digital media production. Because in good marketing, additional material is advertising. You shouldn’t need to know everything to enjoy one aspect of the strategy, but everything should entice you to purchase the main product. That is good marketing.
In Pokemon, you can just watch the TV series. You do not need the games, but I cannot tell you how many adult fans I know who gave Pokemon Sun and/or Pokemon Moon a chance because XY&Z was a good show. But the two things were actually unrelated. And you don’t need to know anything about the franchise to enjoy the toys, but kids will watch the show or play the games to see their toys moving in real time.
Disney is dancing on a similar knife edge, actually. Because for decades, Star Wars was the proof of concept for what Pokemon perfected. You didn’t have to watch the movies. You didn’t have to watch the TV shows. You didn’t have to buy the toys, read the books, whatever, you could just enjoy a single piece of media for what it was, and chances were it would entice you back into watching those old movies. Whereas now… you can watch the first season of The Mandalorian without context. You might get a bit confused, but you can do it. In season two, there’s important characters who you’re clearly supposed know. I haven’t tried yet, but I’ve been told you can’t watch season three without watching The Book of Boba Fett, which relies on you having either watched The Mandalorian or read some of the books and arghhhh! I do not have time for this, Disney!
And marketers are so confused about why this strategy isn’t working. Clearly the pirates are to blame.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been in academia, but this is one of those areas that if I had gone down that path, I’d want to study. Because that disconnect between marketing and consumer strategy is fascinating.
But anyway, Dragon Age. I loved Dragon Age Origins. It remains my favourite game of all time. I enjoy the gameplay, building my characters, forming my team and weaving their growth together. I loved reading the lore, I love thinking about the world, I adore my Wardens and the impact they have on the people around them. I have three Wardens that I consider fully fleshed out characters, and three more that I dabble in for funsies.
I enjoy Dragon Age II. Hawke’s story is a beautiful tragedy filled with love and hope and characters I want to get to know. The gameplay is okay, though you’re really just jumping between dialogues, and the voice acting is incredible. I have two Hawkes that are fleshed out, and a third I dabble in because he's the follow-on from my favourite Warden.
I very barely tolerate Dragon Age Inquisition, because I actively dislike the Inquisitor, and I don’t really like the gameplay. The voice acting is beautiful (Freddie Prince Junior, where were you hiding that talent?!), but they tell a story I am not comfortable with. And frankly when I play the game I find Solas even more eye-roll inducing than DA2 Anders, so the fact Dreadwolf is named after him…
And now this line from Bioware about required reading? When I’ve always found the additional material subpar at best and demeaning to my babies at worst?
Look, I’m just saying that Outside Xbox is going to have to have some incredible sponsored content before I’m going to even consider picking up this game.
But—and this is my reason for writing this—Dragon Age lore does actually give itself to additional material that I would love to see. I want to know more about Maric’s story. I want an HBO or Paramount+ adaption of DA2. I wouldn’t mind an Amazon Prime animated series about the original Inquisitor.
Those are the stories I want. And I’m going to rant about them over on the main blog. Because there’s very little in the actual additional material that I enjoy consuming.
It could have been so good...!

Pick a pile- FUTURE SPOUSE,  The first time they see you (Subconscious thoughts)
Hello there, lovely people! The way this works is that you take a deep breath and let your intuition guide you to pick the image you feel drawn to, go to the pile number of that image and get your reading. This is a general reading so certain parts are specific for those who need to hear it. Don’t worry if some things do not resonate, and as always take care ♥️ For any doubts feel free to text me or ever if you need somebody to talk.
Tumblr media
PILE 1
Cards- The Chariot, King of Pentacles, Strength, The Lovers
Now the moment they see you, in their mind, they are gonna love how exactly they say "I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly and then all at once." Throughout my day I had this image of somebody just gobbling up the water all of a sudden, weird comparison but that is how they are gonna feel in their heart, even meeting you was a chain event, more than a single thing lead them to you. Lol you might even kinda get flirty with them a bit. They instantly want to be somebody who can help you, not necessarily you need help but they just want to be there, and as soon as you guys talk more, it will pick up the pace, fast but stable. For very few of you, this might be a person from the past, so you already know them. You'll unknowingly be the ladder they needed, nothing feels difficult anymore. These people had bad relationships before you. By looking at you they will think you already might have a lot of options and people wanting to be with you. Love at the first sight might be a thing that'll happen for some of you. Things will change, seeing from a new perspective. They won't reveal their feelings right away, being a secret admirer. They are generous and might even give you a lot of gifts.
PILE 2
Cards- Temperance, Strength, Queen of Pentacles, 3 of cups
You know how something interesting happens and everybody comes out of their house to see what is going on? That's how everybody from your spirit family will come to see this union. Even your ancestors will be sending signals from the other side. “This, this is the one.” That's the whisper I hear from spirit guides, your person will know, that you are the one from the moment they lay their eyes on you. They will see you as somebody who actually needs to take a break, as restore and replenish, your fs would like to take care of your health. “I'll take care of them, let me know if you need me”, that is what your person will think. Also, please take care of yourself little one, you need it. Might meet them at a get together or party, surrounded by friends. They will create a safe space for you, for any sort of expression. Your friends will play the role of grapevine, could be a secret matchmaking. They might try to obtain more about you from others too. Might even give you flowers. They'll be proud of you once they get to know more. They love how you look, like just the physique, it's ideal for them.  After the first meeting, you'll be on their mind like a loop, continuously on repeat. I felt a constant buzzing near my third eye during the reading for this pile, you guys might be intuitive too.
PILE 3
Cards- The Sun, 3 of Wands, 9 of Wands, 7 of Swords, Queen of Cups
You are like a sun. That is how you'll feel to them. Warmth, happiness, alive, vibrant. You have a very innocent and childlike playful energy too. Healing of inner child. You might be at a very happy part of your life or reaching new heights. You might be somebody who is very defensive, not letting anybody see your true self. They will immediately pick up on this, from the very first meeting. You are such an emotional person inside but you have built up walls around you. You aren't being your true self, they'll give you time but very soon you'll feel happy and open up when you feel like it. They will not confess everything right away, they will wait, when you feel right, they'll let you know. This person, you or both can be in a position of authority. to them, you'll feel like you are in the world, but not of the world, so expansive, so abundant. Marriage might be a thing on their mind, subconsciously, they might not even know it but passively they really think you are a marriage material tbh. If marriage is not for you then a long partnership. “Grandma would love them.” I don't know why but somebody who is older and a woman is important in their life. Sooo sweet. You guys are Yin and Yan, balancing each other beautifully.
PILE 4
Cards-The Devil, 5 of Cups, Knight of Cups, Queen of Cups, 2 of Wands
They won't believe that a person like you even exists. Like are you messing with my head right now? You are somebody who is very kind. Even ever they think of you, they see themselves focusing on the light. The best things in life, They'll think you are somebody who exists in dreams. And god they wanna dream that beautiful dream. Also, with this person, especially when it comes to intimacy, it is going to be great. You will feel emotionally fulfilled with this person. They kinda want you to be more open with them as you tend to hide certain sides of you, in the beginning. They will want to celebrate you, give you the respect and honour you deserve. This person might be a bit stubborn. You are a wish, they desperately want to be granted.  You will be highly thought of, always. They might be going through trials of life when they meet you and you will be an inspiration to them, a safe home to come to, that is how your energy is.
PILE 5
Cards- The Hermit, The Emperor, 8 of Wands, 3 of Cups, Ace of Wands, The Star
This pile will be mostly selected by people who do tarot/witchcraft/astrology or all of them, hehe hello there! High chances that your future spouse is very spiritual too or has strong intuition. The moment they see you? They'll know, right off the bat... they'll know. Their work-life will change for the better dramatically too, before meeting you. You are the perfection of their life. Just what they need and craved for so long. They'll know you both are here for this reunion, which your spirit guides are proud of. Look out for feathers, you will notice A LOT of them when your person is near and when it is time. You will build a very strong foundation with them, the kind of love that will stand the test of time. Might meet them on a vacation too or when you are trying out new things and getting new experiences. You might be even dancing when they spot you lol or they just love the way you move. So much passion in this pile. Everything will become clear to them all of a sudden, all the obstacles, doubts and the path to you will be unclouded. That's the kind of stability you'll bring them.
PILE 6
Cards- 7 of Swords, 7 of Cups, 10 of Pentacles
I had a tiny feeling that not many will choose this pile because this pile isn't just like the regular type of love, this one is mature, sure, lifelong. You know those types of couples who look as if they have been married for 50 years, yeah I get this vibe. They will think you are heaven sent. Exactly how they imagined it to be. There is great passion and excitement in that pile too. This will make them swoon and feel a calm sense of happiness around you. You know how sometimes, you look up at a certain building and you see a stranger closing the window or something and it catches you attention? Yeah, it will be like that, except they felt so many things when they saw you. Just one look was all it took. You might be somewhat different than them when it comes to career so they will be careful to approach you, as soon as you talk to them they will realise, their family will adore you, you are just the perfect fit. Even though it might seem risky, they want to take that leap of faith with you. I heard a voice and then almost a whisper, “I swear, I swear....god I swear.” I don't know why but it almost as if they are praying and want to worship you and can't believe that life has brought them to a person like you. Making promises to themselves about the future together or telling their loved ones about you quite frequently. I adore this energy.

“I love you.”
“Love you, too, Honey.”
You peck your husband on the lips goodbye before he’s out the door with a briefcase in hand and his suit as neat as ever. Staring at the leftovers, you sigh before eventually picking up the plates and pilling them in the sink, scrubbing off the sticky mess of maple syrup. Soap suds cover up your gloves as you lather them in bubbly water and plan out the rest of your day. The dishes, the laundry, a few episodes of that one show you barely pay attention to, lunch, more dishes, more laundry, a start on dinner.
You can’t help but wonder — Is this it?
You love your husband, something you remind yourself repeatedly when he’s gobbling down on the rice on his dinner plate and when he’s leaving his dirty clothes all over your bedroom floor. You love him. You want to bear his children, want to raise them, want to do the chores so that he doesn’t. You want to cook, to clean, to do everything for the sake of his pleasure. It’s what your mother insisted, it’s what she did, and it’s what her mother did. You love your husband.
Is this it?
Twenty years old, a husband with a stable living, something that can suffice for the rest of your life. All you need is to do your chores, give him your body, be his prim and proper wife. It sounds fairly easy, another thing that your mother insisted, so what is it?
Why do you crave more? Why do you have to remind yourself that you love him, love this life at all?
Your thoughts are interrupted by a knock on your door. When you open it, you’re met with the sight of a tall girl with glasses. She’s in a black maid dress that stops at her knees, complemented by the white apron that flows along with the part of the skirt, ruffling at the end. She has a bag hanging on her shoulder and her expression shows slight amusement at your surprise. Surely, she’s at the wrong house, right?
“Are you (Y/N)?”
“Y-Yes,” you stutter out, not realizing that you were staring, “Uh, w-who are you?”
“I’m Zenin Maki, but you can call me Maki,” she observes your figure, noticing the sly nervousness radiating off of your expression, “Your husband hired me. Said he wanted someone to help you out.”
“O-Oh.”
“May I come in?”
“Of course.” You move to the side, watching the woman scan your house. It’s slightly messy, a result of your husband not cleaning up after lounging in the living room, and she doesn’t waste time to clean it up, rearranging the decorative pillows and helping you carry the leftover dishes to the sink. Just as you’re about to put on your gloves, her hand comes out to grab your wrist and the other takes it out of your hand. “Don’t. I got this.”
You step back, watching Maki put on the gloves herself, lathering the dishes as you did before. You don’t know what to do, standing there awkwardly as she places them in the dishwasher. It’s a given opportunity to observe how her skirt stops right above her knee, flowing out naturally and modestly accentuating her body. Her headband compliments the look, her hair tied back with bangs covering up her forehead, stopping short of her glasses. Warmth creeps up your neck to your cheeks and you sharply look away, focusing your vision on the bowl of apples on the center of the dining table.
“You can rest, Miss. But I’m going to need help putting away the dishes later. Is that okay?” She asks and you turn around to give her a nod. “Is there anything else you need done?”
“Oh, no, it’s okay, you really don’t need to-”
“I was hired to help you out with chores. Please, do not worry about me.”
You sigh in defeat, looking directly at her face, her pretty face. She had a sharp expression, piercing eyes that can bore into your soul, defined cheekbones. A sensation of uneasiness rested in your lower belly and you realize you’re staring when she waves a hand over your face. “Hello? Miss?”
“S-Sorry! I was just thinking about something!”
“Oh. Well, I was just asking if you can help me put some of the dishes away just for today. I don’t know where everything is and I don’t like disorganization.”
“Of course. Of course.”
“You need anything else?”
“Folding the laundry, for now, I think? The clothes should be dry. Everything is upstairs.”
She follows behind you as you bring her out to the terrace where your laundry hangs on a string. Dresses, button ups, and ties of earth toned colors adorn the area and you touch the fabrics. The sun had definitely done its job. Maki is already setting up the ironing board that was previously laying in the corner of your bedroom and gathering your husband’s work attire together. When she’s done flattening the creases on the pieces of clothing, you take them, hanging and folding. With her help, you were finished in half the time it usually took you.
“Thank you, Maki. Really, I appreciate it.”
“You don’t need to thank me, Miss. Your husband hired me to do my job and I am happy to help.”
As you hang your last dress, you give her a smile.
“Honey, I’m home!”
Your husband’s voice sounds throughout the house as he’s met with the sight of you and Maki laying out plating foods and placing them on the dinner table. He smiles and you walk towards him to greet him with a hug and a kiss. Maki continues with the task, sparing a glance at the both of you. “You didn’t tell me you hired a maid,” you whisper to your husband, “Though, she has been very helpful.”
“I’m glad, Honey.” He replies, pressing a kiss to your temple.
“Kind of curious as to why you hired one in the first place.”
“I’ll tell you later. Let’s have dinner, alright?” He shoots you a grin before looking over to Maki. “Feel free to stay for dinner, Maki!”
“I’m alright. I should get going anyways—”
“Nonsense!” You husband eagerly responds, pulling out an extra chair just for her, “My dear wife here says you’ve been helpful.”
“I have classes.”
“Oh. Well you might as well take some home!” You suggest, walking over to your tupperware cabinet.
Before you go back to your husband, you plate some food for her to take home and make sure she makes it back to her car as she walks out the door. You let out an involuntary sigh, leaning against the doorway and feeling content that you now have an extra hand.
“So?”
“So, what?”
“Why do we need a maid?”
“Simple,” he grabs your hands from across the table, “I think we’re ready.”
“Ready for what?”
“Ready to have kids, silly woman!” His laughter booms throughout the entire room, “I mean you’ll have to get off birth control and everything, but I think it’s time.”
You laugh nervously as he leans in for a kiss. “Honey, don’t take this the wrong way, but I don’t know about this.”
“What?” He stands up, his eyebrows furrowed together in confusion, “Why not?”
“I’m just kind of, uh, scared? I don’t know if I’m ready and we just got married a few months ago, you know?”
“Come on, don’t be scared,” he reassures you, kissing your cheek, “I hired Maki to be our maid to lay the stress off of you. I offered her an in-house job, which she’ll be starting next week, just so that you could rest easy while you’re pregnant.”
“In-house? Is she going to live with us?”
“Of course! She’s a college student, so she doesn’t mind getting paid and living in a house,” he explains before going back to the topic, “So please. I want you to have our baby. We can start tonight.” He suggests, wiggling his eyebrows.
“O-Okay.”
The next few days, the cycle continues.
Maki comes in the morning, usually just about right before your husband leaves for work, and she helps you throughout the day. Doing dishes, folding clothes, cleaning the bathroom. Most of the time you help her, usually against her will, but it leads to a calm and comforting silence when you work together. She’s moving in soon, two days to be exact, and you think it’s time to get to know a little bit about her.
One problem; She’s reserved, which intimidates you, and you’re too scared to start a conversation.
Eventually, you’re going to have to break the ice. So you do it as she’s ironing the clothes and you’re putting them away. You think up a few basic questions, mulling them over as to not make her uncomfortable because you want to get to know her.
“My husband tells me you’re in university right now. What’s your major?”
“Sports science.” She replies bluntly, continuing her task.
“Oh, cool cool,” you try to figure out a way to continue, but come up blank. Maybe she doesn’t want to talk.
“What do you do when your husband is not around?” She asks curiously, as if she sensed your desire to hold the conversation.
“Chores, usually,” you frown, “Sometimes I watch TV, but I wish I was able to do other stuff. I really like painting, too. But I haven’t done much of that ever since we got married.”
“Oh. Why not?”
“Well, I’ve always wanted to become an artist. I’ve been doing it since I was a kid, but my family wanted stability for me so they introduced me to a family friend’s older son,” you smile, memories of your younger self filling up your head before a sense of sadness falls over your expression, “They said this would be good for me. And it is. My husband is a good man, I have a roof over my head and dinner on the table everyday, you know. I’m not complaining,” you pause, reeling out of your own thoughts, “Sorry if I just overshared.”
“No, don’t worry about it,” she reassures you, “Just out of curiosity, how old are you?”
“Twenty.”
“That’s funny, I’m twenty one.”
“You’re closer to my age than my husband,” you laugh, folding another white button up before placing it in a drawer, “We are in very different positions.”
“Yes, we are,” she chuckles, “A struggling college student and a cool housewife.”
“Well, I wouldn’t say cool—”
“Nonsense!” She grumbles, an attempt to mock your husband.
“Nonsense!”
“Nonsense!”
The both of you laugh and you realize how she seems almost angelic. The look in her eyes that was once piercing and intimidating was soft and heavenly. Her cheeks are flushed red and her smile was alluring. Before you even realize it, a feeling of warmth settles in your lower belly and it gets harder and harder to take your eyes off of her. Her chuckle was music to your ears and you’ve internally decided that it was one of your favorite sounds.
“Goodnight, Honey.”
He plants a kiss on your sweaty forehead before turning his back towards you, opting to hug a pillow on the side instead. Everything is wet, sticky, and gross, but before you can say anything, your husband is already fast asleep, little snores filling the air of the master bedroom. You lay down for a few minutes, staring at the ceiling in the dark until you gather up the last of your willpower to get up and clean the mess between your legs.
It was an okay night.
Sure, you came, but it was just boring. There was nothing to it, only the huffs and groans and praises from your husband as he lived out his fantasy of finally being able to breed you. You’re happy to provide him, as long as it makes him happy, because he loves you and you love him. Even if you have to clean up the mess yourself, even if you don’t finish, even if that rush of loving emotion that everyone seems to describe never hits you.
You’re happy.
That’s what you tell yourself anyways. Yet, your fingers rub furiously on your clit while the other pumps in and out of your dripping cunt. You’re close and you pretend that it’s her fingers You pretend that it’s her fingers that you’re clenching around, her mouth leaving soft kisses from your neck down to your exposed breasts. You pretend that you’re tugging on dark hair, asking for more, but when you come down from your high, the ringing in your ears stops suddenly and the snores overtake your hearing once again.
Maki.
It’s wrong, disgustingly wrong, but there’s no way to escape her. Not when she’s in your house in the morning, the afternoon, and the evening. She helps with everything, things that you didn’t even consider yourself, talks to you about the things you like. And you know that her favorite color is black, her family would have much rather preferred if she went the same route you did, and she likes junk food a little too much.
You also wonder when you should tell your husband that you definitely have not gone off those pills.
“Miss?”
“Yes?” You respond, a grocery bag in your arms filled with different fruits, vegetables, and meat. Although you've made a few additions to your list and you were unsure at first, but as Maki empties it, her eyes light up at the sight of the bright little bag.
“You got chips?”
“Well, yeah. They’re for you. I know you liked them.”
She beams at you and it’s almost blinding. There’s an odd flutter in your stomach and you ignore it, but it only becomes stronger when she rips open the bag and munches on the whole thing in seconds. The small satisfied moan from the first bite has you internally celebrating. She looks at peace. All she’s doing is eating a bag of her favorite chips, yet it fills you with some unexplainable feeling of warmth. You make another mental note to buy even more next time.
“What do you think of him?”
“Who?” She asks, sitting up on the couch as she watches you get lost on the canvas in front of you.
“My husband.”
“Oh,” she pauses, her hand coming from under her chin to think, “He’s pretty cool, I guess. He also pays me which is pretty cool, you know.”
“Come on, I won’t tell him,” you insist, coming close, your hands involuntarily brushing over hers. She doesn’t pull them away, letting you rest them, enjoying the extra warmth.
“I mean, he’s a man, alright.”
“What does that even mean?”
“No offense,” she continues, finding the least rudest way to say it, “He’s kind of basic, you know? Which isn’t bad but he yells at the TV when watching football, has you light his cigarettes, and waits for you to serve him food. Just your typical husband things, I guess.”
“Are you saying my husband is boring?” You ask with a stoic face, watching the fear fill her eyes.
“No, no! That’s not what I—”
“Kidding,” you chuckle as she purses her lips before joining along, “I was just curious.”
“Well, why?”
“I don’t know,” you say, sighing as you think of all the times he did anything romantic for you, “He’s a good man, you know that, right?”
“Well, of course.”
“He brings me flowers, gives me goodnight kisses, tells me he loves me, but—” you pause, afraid to finish the thought. Your heart pounds at the mess of ideas on your mind and you’re ashamed, “I don’t know if I feel that love thing those people always talk about.”
“What do you mean?”
She’s intrigued to say the least. You’re fiddling your thumbs with a nervous smile on your face. All the while, the music you put on fades in the background until it’s only the two of you, hearts beating fast, blood rushing to your cheeks. When you finally look her in the eye, she doesn’t miss how glassy they look and that’s when her suspicions are confirmed without a verbal sentence — you’re unsure.
“He- Well, I don’t know. Forget I said anything about it,” you clasp your hands together before getting back to work in the kitchen, “And please, don’t tell him.”
Uncertainty, you’re most definitely full of it, but Maki is almost sure she’s figured it out before you have and she likes to think that she’s gotten to know you. She’s picked up how you play with your fingers when you’re unsure, how you smooth down your dress when you try to keep your composure, how that your smile loses genuinity while you’re at the dinner table. She decides it’s not her business, she’s only the housemaid and you’re just the housewife she works under.
But she’ll always be there for you with open arms if you need it.
“We gotta make breakfast, Maki.” You poke her side, waking her up from a deep sleep.
You’re already ready for the day, the top half of your hair already tied in a bun and a lilac colored dress adorning your figure. She’s caught off guard when she opens her eyes and you’re sitting up on the side of the bed poking at her hip. Her vision is blurry without her glasses, but she can clearly smell the sweet scent of vanilla perfume. Taking in a deep breath, she sits up, too, reaching for her glasses on the bedside table.
And her sleek, black hair cascades down her shoulders, though it’s slightly messy, you’re tempted to run your fingers through the soft looking strands. You’ve seen Maki in her maid uniform at home, jeans when she goes out to shop, but the sight of her in a satin night dress was different and your breath hitches when the blanket falls off the upper half of her body. It’s a loose fit and she looks absolutely ethereal, almost like an angel.
She turns her head to the side and you fake cough, trying to make up for staring a little too long. “I know your day doesn’t start yet, but I was hoping to get some help on breakfast today. Is that alright with you?”
“Of course, Miss. I’ll go get ready right now.
“Cool.”
You walk down to the kitchen, preparing a pie crust for your quiche and reading through the recipe you were given by a friend. By the time you blind bake the crust, Maki joins you in her usual attire. “Need anything, Miss?”
“While the quiche is baking, I just need you to make some cookie dough. Just the usual, my family is coming over later.”
“Of course.”
She gets to work right away, finding the ingredients immediately as you fill up your empty pie crust and dance around the kitchen. Right after the quiche is placed in the oven, your hips sway along with the music that plays in the radio. It’s all soft and slow, Maki smiling at your antics while you jokingly attempt to serenade her. She’s mixing in the chocolate chips into the dough and you walk forward, energetic and lost in the song.
You don’t think much of it when you grab her hip and your faces come closer together. One second, you were playfully dancing around your kitchen and the next, your breaths mingle, the gap between the two of you closing. It’s her who decides to lean forward, soft lips meeting together, your back suddenly meeting the edge of the counter. Her hands rest on the surface, each on either side of you, and her lips taste like cherries. Your hands come up to her cheeks as your mouths meld together until it’s hard to breathe.
You pull away first, remembering that your husband is still sleeping upstairs. “What are we doing?”
“Don’t know,” she replies, her hand starting to trail under the skirt of your dress, “It feels right, though.”
“Should we stop?” You mutter, just barely enough for her to hear.
“Do you want to?”
“No.”
It gives her the extra rush of courage to get under your dress and push your body until your back is flat on the counter. Luckily, there was nothing underneath except for a pair of plain black panties, a damp spot right in the middle. Her thumb presses on your clothed clit and by the way your body squirms she knows you’re sensitive which only adds to the sadistic fun of pulling down your underwear at an agonizingly slow pace. “Need you,” you breathe out, your legs being positioned on her shoulders, “I need you, please.”
“I got you, Baby. Don’t worry.” She replies with a smile, her breath hitting your wet cunt.
Your breath hitches as her tongue trails up from your hole up to your sensitive pearl and she moans at the sweet taste of your arousal. Her hands keep a firm grip on your thighs, holding them open as you bite your lip to contain your moans. He’s right upstairs, you think, but any thought of caution starts to leave you once her soft lips wrap around your clit, sucking on the bundle of nerves causing your knuckles to turn white as they grab onto the edge of the counter.
Your husband has never touched you like this. Ever.
The feeling of her mouth is foreign, but welcome. Before you know it, the grip on one of your thighs loosen and two fingers slip into your soaked cunt. She’s gentle at first, the pumps of her digits ever so delicately pressing against your g spot, but once you hike up the skirt of your dress and thread your fingers through her hair, she speeds up, hitting hard and fast. “M-Maki— Shit!”
You squeal when her tongue starts massaging your clit and your walls clench despite being empty, “Such a pretty girl,” she coos, watching in awe at how your slick coats her fingers, “Such a pretty pussy.”
Lewd praises and squelches fill the kitchen air as the coil in your stomach builds and snaps until your cunt is gushing all over her. Your back arches as you reach your high and she leaves a trail of kisses from your thigh to your sopping pussy. Bringing her fingers to your mouth, she gives you one command.
“Suck.”
You obey, wrapping your soft lips around her digits, swirling your tongue and she gives a graceful smile, brushing a thumb over your flushed cheeks. A sheen of sweat covers your forehead, but the sound of footsteps brings you out of your thoughts. Maki pockets your underwear, giving you a wink, before washing her hands and taking the nearly forgotten quiche out of the oven.
By the time you hear the footsteps of your husband, you’re decent, minimal signs of physical exertion just barely noticeable. She’s going through her usual routine of plating your food in front of the two of you, doing the dishes, laundry, everything. You want to say something, you really do, and you’re left with your own questions.
At night, you’re left pondering the strong women with silky black hair whilst in the arms of your husband.
Two days.
That’s how long it’s been since you’ve gotten the most mind blowing orgasm of your life. Your panties are still missing, though you don’t mind knowing who has them. And when you think about the things your mother has told you repeatedly about your perfectly structured life, it crumbles with each second. When you look at the face next to you, the indifference in your heart starts to become more and more prominent.
And even though you should feel guilty — well, you do — you also don’t regret it at all.
You still do your chores as expected, make the bed, cook dinner. You still organize the laundry, do the dishes, and tend to your rose garden. You still disinfect, fold, and have sex with your husband who’s indifferent to your pleasure every night. Almost every domestic activity was accompanied by Maki, who often sought to take over or help.
Yet, she wouldn’t even look at you.
She wouldn’t say anything that didn’t pertain to a grocery list or a command and it was infuriating. Still, you were determined to bring it up — how could you not? As you fold blankets on the couch and think, you call out her name. “Maki?”
“Yes, Miss?”
“Are we going to talk about what happened?”
“What do you mean?”
Your heart drops a tiny bit, it was an expected response based on the fact it felt like she was avoiding you, but you still had to swallow the lump in your throat. “Nevermind. I’m sorry.”
“Why are you apologizing?” She asks as you’re looking down on the rug, trying to focus on the pattern instead of the woman in front of you.
“I’m just sorry I brought it up. I’m sorry that I made you uncomfortable. I’m sorry that we did whatever that was,” you take a deep breath as forming tears blurred your vision, “I’m sorry that I can’t fucking do this, Maki. I don’t love him. I can’t love him.”
She sighs, scooching forward and closer to you then pulling the half folded blanket from your hands. “You shouldn’t be sorry. This was my fault.”
“You don’t understand.”
“Try me.”
“You’re just, I’m just—” you inhale again, trying to find the right words to say, “You’re different. You’re different from him in all the best ways. You listen to what I have to say, you care about how I feel.”
“That’s something that any good friend would do—”
“I don’t want to be your friend.”
“Oh.”
She brings her fingers to your chin, nudging your head up until you’re looking her in the eyes for the first time in days. She gazes at you, appreciating every curve and every mark on your skin. You take this as an opportunity to lean in, planting a soft kiss on her lips. She doesn’t stop it, instead indulging in the act, cupping your cheeks.
It soon becomes hungry, her tongue slipping past your lips, you being rolled over onto your back as she slips her hand under your floral dress. She presses a finger against your clothed cunt, causing you to gasp and throw your head back. At the same time she leaves sloppy kisses on the exposed skin of your neck and you struggle to form a coherent sentence.
“M-Maki, stop,” you whimper and she pauses, “Wanna make you feel good.”
“Oh?” She smirks, giving you another breathless kiss, “Wanna put that mouth to use, Baby?”
“Yeah,” you breath out, “Wanna make you feel good, Mommy.”
Her expression is filled with pride as she drags her fingers across your face and into your mouth. You comply with the silent command, wrapping your lips around the digits and sucking softly, swirling your tongue around them. “Good girl.”
You let out a hum while she discards her panties somewhere on the ground and her bare cunt hovers over your face. It’s intimidating, yet the sight of her glistening folds makes you wet. All you wanted to do was taste her, drink up all of her juices, and when you finally do you can’t get enough. Despite the lack of experience, you do what you think would feel good, giving experimental licks, noting when her body twitched and when she would let out a saccharine moan.
“Fuck — you’re doing so well,” she coos, carding her fingers through your hair, admiring the sight of your half lidded eyes and the feel of your tongue, “You sure this is your first time eating pussy?”
You hum in response which sends vibrations throughout her body, causing her to throw her head back. You grip onto her lower back, desperately bringing her wet cunny closer to yourself and she rolls her hips, grinding herself on your mouth. You’re already addicted, lapping at all of the cum she has to offer, watching intently as her mouth forms an o shape and she soaks the lower half of your face.
“Such a good fucking girl, aren’t you?”
She gets off your face and you smile with pride, tugging off the rest of her maid uniform until she’s completely bare in your living room. Every curve of her body fills you with even more lust and you’re sure your panties are soaked just from the sight. Her thighs are defined, muscular even, and you kiss them before going back to her ruined pussy, lapping at all the slick.
“You’re so pretty, Maki,” you utter, your breath hitting her neck as you come back up to her face.
She pushes you backward until you’re flat on your back, pinning your wrists together before ripping off your panties. Maki wastes no time, two fingers entering your hole and curling with every thrust. “You got this wet from eating me out?” She questions cockily, leaving an open mouthed kiss on the shell of your ear along with a nibble, “You’re a cute little thing, aren’t you?”
“Yeah,” you whimper in between breaths, “Feels s’good.”
“Yeah?” She responds, watching you come undone underneath her.
Your orgasm builds up with every pump, the coil in your stomach tightening. She fastens the pace, every movement being calculated, her fingers knuckles deep in your cunt. Her fingertips manage to brutally hit the spongy spot inside of you, causing your legs to shake. Your back arches when her lips wrap around your clit, the simultaneous stimulation making your body tremble in delight. You’re gushing all over her fingers and she stares in awe as your slick drips down your thighs.
“Can we go to the bedroom?” You request meekly, barely recovering from your last orgasm.
“Of course, Baby,” she beams at you, body gleaming with a sheen of sweat, your heart fluttering in your chest.
Maki picks you up bridal style with almost no effort, pressing kisses all over your face on the way upstairs. When you finally get to the bedroom, she lays you down gently, almost as if you were a delicate piece of glass. But the moment of soft intimacy doesn’t last.
It doesn’t last when her pussy hovers over your face with her head buried in between your legs, licking hot stripes on your folds, sucking on your pearl while her fingers brush on your legs before finding their way back to your ruined cunt. Your tongue presses on her slit and her hips lower until your mouth is full of pussy. Her sweet taste is addicting and concurrent moans only heighten the pleasure, vibrations shooting through both of your bodies. Her thumb circles your clit furiously as she pulls away from your cunt to speak.
“You like this, don’t you? Ain’t this the same bed where you get fucked by your husband?” She questions demandingly, slapping your cunny.
You whine into her cunt, the sudden pain causing your walls to clamp around nothing. She laughs sadistically, pinching your clit, biting at your inner thighs.
“S’good, such a good little slut,” she coos, her nose tickling your clit as her face inches closer, “Bet you like getting fucked by your maid, don’t you?”
You can only respond with a squeal, her hand laying another blow to your aching pussy. “Don’t worry, pretty girl. I got you.” She reassures you, mouth ravaging your cunt, slurping every drop of cum you had to offer. She’s close to her own orgasm, you can tell by the way she rides your face, soaking the lower half until the sweet droplets slide down your neck. You massage her clit with your tongue as she comes down from her high, but after yours, she doesn’t stop.
Instead, she continues to feast on your cunt like a starved woman, the pressure in your stomach building for the nth time that day. Coming again almost hurts, but she ignores the high pitched wails spilling from your lips, the sounds only encouraging her to keep sucking until your body trembles. At this point, you’re light headed, vision gradually becoming blurry. Your walls are pulsating, your mind is unable to process everything at once.
Especially the shocked man who stands in the doorway of your bedroom.
And at that exact moment, you let out a sob as Maki sadistically looks your husband right in the eye, her mouth still devouring your overstimulated cunny with fervor. Your hole leaks milky white, staining your shared sheets and you cry out her name, hopelessly gripping onto the plush of her ass for stability, digging your nails into the flesh. When she pulls away, a string of spit connects from her mouth to your pearl and her pupils are blown, cheeks covered with your arousal, all the while maintaining eye contact with him.
As if there was no one in the room, she readjusts her until her face hovers over yours, her swollen pussy present on your thigh.
“Open.”
You comply readily and she grabs your face with one hand, squishing your wet cheeks so hard that they start to ache.
“Good girl.”
She spews into your mouth, watching the blob as it glides down your tongue and you swallow obediently before she comes down for a sweet kiss. The taste of yourself makes your head dizzy with lust. Let it be known that the horrified figure standing in the doorway could never make you feel as good as the maid.

Day 131.2 Tease (Part 2)
(you can start with part 1 if you'd like.)
It's not forever. Harry reminded himself as he sat in his fourth meeting today with a board of people he barely recognized. His eyes searched for Draco who was across the room, his head bowed as he spoke in hushed tones to a witch in a hideous magenta robe.
It's not forever he repeated as he listened to the arsehole leading the presentation about all of the ways that the war had helped the economy boom.
It's not forever he thought again as the board congratulated themselves on a war well won when not a single one of them was there.
He wanted to scream, wanted to cry, wanted to replace every person he'd lost with one of these arseholes instead.
His gaze met Draco's across the room and he wondered if the other man could see how this was killing him.
"Mr. Potter," the wanker who'd been running the meeting, Sebastian if Harry remembered correctly, said, "You've been awfully quiet," he added jovially and the room chuckled with him. Harry forced a smile. "What are your thoughts?"
"Thank you for the invitation to speak," he said courteously. "Yes, I agree," he lied, "It's really something that we've had such a boom in the economy." He paused as the people around the room congratulated each other again. "There are several things that I would personally love to see some of the excess get funneled into."
"Oh-" Sebastian started but Harry continued over him.
"The number of children orphaned during the war doubled," Harry said bluntly. "Our orphanages don't have enough room to hold them and they're being put in muggle orphanages or into muggle homes. Many muggles aren't equipped to handle a wizarding child."
"Mr. Potter-"
"Excuse me," he said. "If I could just have another moment of your time." He cleared his throat, "I would like to see better processes in place for how these children are placed. An extra set of interviews, even." There were murmurs around the room but Harry plowed on.
(Read more below the cut)
"The number of people who are now affected by lyncathropy has nearly quadrupled but our funding has remained the same for that department in St. Mungo's-"
"Yes, but-"
"And," Harry continued, "The potion typically used for treatment is really expensive. With all of the prejudices against lycanthropes, it's difficult for many of them to find gainful employment, they can't-"
"Mr. Potter," Sebastian interrupted more forcibly, "I don't really think this is the appropriate time or place."
"Then where and when is?" Harry snapped. His eyes found Draco once more and watched as the other man lifted his chin and inhaled slowly, deeply. And Harry took a deep breath and shook his head, looking down at his hands, "I apologize, I don't mean to be rude," he said even though it was a complete lie. "I must be feeling a bit peckish. Congratulations on your success," he managed.
"Yes, thank you," the other man said amidst a third round of congratulatory murmurs. "I think we're all a bit hungry," he chuckled. "Let's end early," he suggested.
Everyone was quick to pack up and leave, several people stopping to congratulate him but not a single one of them saying anything about orphans, or werewolves, or any of the other things that Harry hadn't managed to say.
Draco was talking to a wizard, patting him on the back and Harry pretended to be digging around for something important in his bag until that wizard left the room, leaving only him and Draco.
Their eyes caught and held, Draco looked at him helplessly and Harry broke. "I can't," he whispered.
"Not here," Draco said, voice soft and achingly tender.
He nodded and told himself that it didn't hurt when Draco simply walked past him and out the door. After another moment, where he let the emotions swirling inside of him rage, he took a fortifying breath and tamped everything back down.
Harry made his way out of the room, down the hall, and through the atrium; he was stopped every several feet by people wanting to talk to him, to have their minute in the limelight. When he'd started working with the ministry, he'd imagined that he'd be able to do anything he wanted because of these frequent meetings but none of them wanted to actually help. It was a game to them.
When he finally made it to the apparation point he barely had the energy to lift his wand and apparate home.
"Don't sit," Draco called when Harry's feet touched the floor.
He whined, "I'm exhausted."
"I know," Draco called back, "But we both know that rest isn't what is going to help you."
Harry wanted to argue, wanted to lash out. Godric, he was itching for a fight, desperate for an outlet. It's how he and Draco had gotten together in the first place, after the war and the trials. Fighting had turned into fucking which had turned into making love and now Harry could hardly imagine not loving Draco.
"I know," Draco repeated as he came into the living room where Harry was still standing in the middle of the floor. "Here," he said, holding out a pair of muggle jeans, a plain black tshirt, flip flops, and a pair of sunglasses. "Get changed."
Harry looked at him then, the other man was wearing a pair of khaki shorts and a blue polo, blue sunglasses perched in his hair.
"What are we doing?" he asked even as he stripped out of his robes and the clothes he'd been wearing underneath.
"We're having a taste of someday," Draco said.
Harry paused buttoning his jeans and grabbed Draco's shirt, pulling him in and kissing him fiercely, pouring all of his frustration and desperation into the kiss.
"I know," Draco whispered, pressing his forehead against Harry's. "I know, love."
He swallowed and took a step back so he could finish zipping up his jeans and pull his tshirt on over his head.
"Ready?" Draco asked after he'd stuffed his feet back into his sandals.
Harry nodded eagerly and accepted Draco's arm.
When they blinked back into existence, they were on a bare, sunny stretch of beach by the ocean. "Give me your glasses," Draco said, holding out a hand.
"But I need them to see," Harry protested.
Draco rolled his eyes, but the fond curve of his mouth gave him away, "These," he said, holding out the sunglasses he'd brought down with Harry's clothes, "Are prescription sunglasses."
"You're brilliant," Harry breathed, leaning in to steal a kiss. "Sorry," he said, pulling back quickly remembering that they were still in public, even if the beach seemed deserted.
"Hey," Draco whispered, cupping Harry's cheek and drawing their lips together softly, sweetly, "This is someday, remember?" he murmured, lips brushing tantalizingly over Harry's before he leaned in and closed the distance once more.
Harry grasped his shirt in his hands and kissed him back for a long moment.
When he pulled back, Draco was smiling, warm and open and real, and a bubble of light expanded in Harry's chest. "Give me your glasses," he said again, holding out a hand.
He pulled them off his face and handed them over, accepting the sunglasses and watching as Draco carefully folded them and put them in a case. "Come on," he said as he shoved the case into a bag and held out a hand to Harry.
"Where are we going?" Harry asked, reveling in the feel of Draco's hand in his, fingers entwined as they set off down the beach.
Draco smiled, "Right after the war," he said, "When I was trying to get my head on straight, I wanted to understand muggle culture."
"Oh?" Harry asked, greedily gobbling up every word out of Draco's mouth. They didn't talk much about the time just after the war.
He nodded, "You weren't there seventh year but what we were taught in Muggle Studies by the Carrows," Draco shook his head, "well, it doesn't bear repeating. And I wanted to know what they'd lied about; I wanted to see it for myself."
Harry squeezed his hand encouragingly.
"The new professor at Hogwarts who's teaching Muggle Studies now gave me port keys to different places that would let me experience muggle life."
"You did that by yourself?" Harry asked.
Draco laughed, "I know, it's outrageous to think about now, isn't it?"
"Sorry-"
He squeezed his hand and waved him off, "Don't be. It was crazy but I needed to see it, you know? The poor bloke I tried to pay the first time I had muggle food," he laughed again. "Oh Salazar, his face."
Harry couldn't remember the last time he'd smiled this much, the muscles in his face actually hurt from disuse.
"Anyway," Draco continued, "This was one of my favorite places. I'd been taught that muggles were stupid and lazy, but this," he said as they walked around the corner and a boardwalk came into view. "It was magic," he said simply.
The scent of fried food wafted down the beach toward them and the sound of children's laughter reached his ears. "I've never been to the boardwalk," he said.
"You'll love it," Draco assured, tugging his hand.
Harry tugged back, pulling Draco around so he could kiss him. "Thank you," he whispered.
"You're welcome," Draco replied softly, bumping his nose against Harry's.
--------------
The afternoon stretched into evening, the sun burning red and gold, and setting the ocean on fire. Harry leaned against the railing and watched the sun setting as he stole bits of the funnel cake that Draco had purchased. "They're never going to listen," he said.
"Sorry?" Draco asked through a mouthful of food and Harry loved him all the more.
"I love you," he said simply, distracted.
Draco grinned at him, "I love you, too," he replied. "What did you say before that, though?"
"That they're never going to listen."
The other man frowned, "We don't have to talk about this now," he said. "We're in someday," he added.
"But I want to actually, you know," he said, gesturing vaguely, "get here someday."
"Politics take time," Draco said gently, in the way he had a thousand times.
And Harry recognized it was a product of his upbringing, that Draco had been raised from a very young age to measure every word that left his mouth, to look at a room and size up the people in it to know who was the most important, to make connections and build on them, to calculate every move he made. It's why seeing him here with powdered sugar at the corner of his mouth made Harry feel like he could fly; because Draco could be free when it was just them. And Harry knew from experience that he'd slip back into the role he played without hesitation or difficulty. He'd make a great politician.
But not Harry.
"Yeah," he said. "I'm done with that."
"Harry-"
"I'm running for Minister of Magic," he said.
Draco gaped at him and Harry stored that mental image away for a rainy day. "I'm sorry. What?" Draco asked.
"It's the only way that I'm going to be able to get anything done," he said. "I'm sick of the games."
"But the games are what you'll need to get elected," Draco said.
He laughed, "Nope. I'm pretty sure I've found what all that fame will be useful for. I don't need the support of the idiots who work for the Ministry, I just need the support of regular people. And I'm pretty sure I've earned that. Then once I'm in office I can fire all of them and put in people who actually give a shit."
Draco stared at him for another moment, "Are you sure about this?"
He shrugged and looked out over the water, "As sure as I am of anything."
"Anything?" Draco asked, bumping him with his shoulder.
The corner of his mouth curved up, "You excluded, of course."
"Of course," Draco echoed. "Fuck, Harry," he breathed, "You don't do anything by halves, do you?"
He shook his head, "I think about where Teddy could have ended up if not for Adromeda and I can't sleep," he said. "I think of the way Remus was treated. And of the way the trials went after the first war, the way yours would have gone if I hadn't shown up." He rubbed his fist against the railing, "Every day I walk into the Ministry and I see that fucking fountain where wizards are stepping on other magical creatures, and I just," he shrugged, "I can't."
Draco shifted so he was behind Harry and wrapped his arms around his waist, hooking his chin over his shoulder. "I know," he said softly.
"Will you help me?" Harry asked.
Draco started nodding before he'd even finished the question. "Always, love."

First time
Tell me the truth Severus. Don't you want me?
Tumblr media
Pairing : Young Severus Snape x Fem!Reader
Warnings : slights smut ; severus switch and reader switch ; dom/sub kink ; little bit of swearing ; alone at house ; bathroom teasing
Wordcount : 3,504 words
Request : Marauder era Severus x reader’s first time
Resume : That’s the same request as “An eventful birthday” but I did it with a more bold reader and only Severus' first time. Hope you’ll enjoy it just as much !
Y/l/n = Your last name Y/n = Your name
"She asked you what?" said Lucius as he and Severus headed to their common room.
"She invited me to come spend the weekend at her house over the vacations," Severus repeated, rolling his eyes to the sky.
"Tell me mate, you've been dating Y/l/n for how long now?" Lucius as he opened the door to their dormitory.
"9 months." he replied.
"And you've already gone beyond a simple kiss? You know, despite what they say about young wizards, it's the young women who are the most hormone-driven. Think about it, Severus! That's why they're all so obsessed with love. They need a man and they need him to be their own to calm their ardor. And it's even truer for the veela.”
Severus shook his head negatively, setting his things down on his bed. Lucius couldn't help but smile mischievously at his friend.
"What are you getting at?" he asked when Malfoy didn't continue.
"My point is that she didn't invite you to chat. She wants you, Severus Snape, the dark male, to take over and make her your bitch.” Severus widened his eyes, not expecting such a revelation.
Was this really the case? You were a former student of Durmstrang Institute who had arrived at Hogwarts at the beginning of seventh year even though you were already of age. Because of the reputation of your former school, rumors about you had spread within a week of school, claiming that you were an accomplished black mage or a monster from the darkness, a cross between a veela and a vampire. You ended up in Slytherin, which wasn't entirely in your favor. You even had to deal with the most popular students in the school who were self-appointed protectors of Hogwarts and wanted to check the rumors.  Luckily for you, you were persuasive. You weren't a dark mage or a monster, but you had learned enough from Durmstrang to stand up for yourself and stop anyone from stepping on your toes.
After your little show of strength, girls started coming to you when a boy bothered them and guys who thought they were irresistible, like Lucius Malfoy or Sirius Black, came to try their luck with you. You'd packed them all, one by one. None of these boys were interesting for you, you only had eyes for your Potions and DADA partner, Severus Snape, the only one who didn't ogle your form even when he thought you didn't see him, the only one who shared your curiosity about dark magic, and especially the only one who didn't seem to be interested in you. That's what you liked about him, he really wasn't interested in you, or at least not more than in friendship, until you spent more and more time with him and finally confessed your love.
In fact, you didn't really do that, you two just kissed on a full moon night in the astronomy tower and it was so natural between you that you just started acting like a couple. Holding hands during Hogsmeade outings or during classes, kissing for hours in your common room while all the other students were watching Quidditch matches, taking turns reading  poetry under the moonlight every night or so. In short, everything was done in a natural way, without the need for embarrassing confessions or the obligation to call each other ridiculous names. No, you had no obligation to each other, you just saw other as you pleased, doing the things you liked and it was just... perfect.
The more Severus thought about it, the more he thought how stupid it would be to change that.
Add sex to such a perfect relationship? No way. It wasn't that he didn't find you attractive, on the contrary, he simply found you breath taking and sometimes wondered what such a beauty was doing by his side but he wasn’t sure that sex was for him. Sex was always something you grow tired of, and there was so much about it that he didn't know, he was sure he would disappoint you if you ever introduced sex to your relationship. Everything Severus Snape knew about sex, Lucius had told him, and if there was one thing he had learned from his friend's stories, it was that sex was complicated.
Then when he presented himself in front of the door of the manor Y/l/n, he was well decided to keep his pants on. He knocked and expected to see one of your parents open the door for him, but he came face to face with your little face when the big door was fully opened. His eyes didn't leave your face but his peripheral vision allowed him to see that you were dressed a little lightly for the season, a simple t-shirt pulled over your tantalizing curves. He swallowed hardly. Keeping his pants on seemed much more difficult now.
"Hello, Sev'. I see you're still on time. You'll excuse me, this time it's me who's a little late." you gave him your best smile and invited him to come in "My parents aren’t here so I took the opportunity to sleep in a little longer.”
Well, that wasn't entirely true, but he didn't need to know that, did he? You'd been up for a while and had spent the morning getting ready for the special weekend ahead. Despite the blasé expression you wore, inside you, your hormones and your heart were racing. Your little Severus was just beautiful and you were even more aware of it now that you saw him without his school uniform.
“Do you mind if I go put something on quickly?“ you asked without noticing the gleam of desire in the eyes of your companion.
He shook his head negatively too happy that you propose of yourself to remove this angelic vision of which he had difficulty to get out. Merlin what you could be beautiful. You left to change your clothes after taking him into the great hall. Severus was trying to calm his imagination as he gazed out at the garden of your house that could be seen from the living room window. He was still standing there when you returned from your room, looking so absorbed that you had to pull him by the sleeve to get his attention. When he turned around he was breathless again. You had changed but your new outfit didn't help his case at all. You were now wearing a flowing black knee-length dress with a white corset that showed off your slim waist and gently carried your swaying breasts. If he was to believe what he saw, you weren't wearing a bra and he hoped... no panties either.
"Severus...are you okay?" you questioned as he said nothing.
Severus quickly pulled himself together, serving you one of his grinning smiles that only he had the secret to. What was he talking about? Wasn't he the one who wanted to keep your relationship simple and natural? As recently as thirty minutes ago? And now he was the one who imagined you fucking on the floor, after having torn off your little black dress. This weekend was getting more and more complicated for him. He nodded nevertheless seeing the worried look that you threw to him, the back of your hand put on his forehead as if to see if he had a fever.
"Are you sure? You're all red?" he took your hand, squeezing it gently.
"Yes, yes. It's just your beauty that bewitches me," he said, placing a light kiss on your hand.
It was your turn to blush. Severus' compliments were rare and always came when you least expected them, so when he complimented you, you took full advantage. You kissed him tenderly.
"Idiot. You scared me."
He savored her words in turn, still not used to someone worrying about him and showing it.
"I should scare you more often if you kiss me like that every time" he murmured a sneer stretching his lips.
"You know very well that I would kiss you every day like that even if I wasn't worried. You just have to ask me or... do it on your own.”
At the fiery look you gave him, Severus stiffened and looked away a little.
"Do you have a chess set? It's been a long time since I've played against the grand queen of chess," he said in an attempt to divert your attention.
This worked in part, you nodded and went to get your chess set and then you sat down at the small table near the window. It was a hectic late afternoon of battles and verbal jousting, all of it friendly and good-natured. Even if your thoughts were turned to the particular behavior of your boyfriend. You wanted to wait for him to come and explain to you on his own what was the problem but you were sure he wouldn't. You didn't embarrass him with a serious discussion though, not wanting to spoil the wonderful weekend ahead. And you were right. Severus, on the other hand, was having a hard time concentrating, with hot scenarios taking up all his attention. If you had always been a bit daring, he had never noticed before, too busy admiring your little face or your knowledge of dark magic. And now he was biting his fingers, having the impression to rediscover the wild beauty that you were.
Laughing loudly, arm in arm, you entered the kitchen, your bellies rumbling. You brought in the leftovers from the night before and you gobbled them up in a few seconds, neither you nor he being picky in terms of food and it wasn't as if you had eaten mud, quite the contrary.
It was your father who had made the food the day before. He had deliberately prepared more food than he needed, not wanting to leave his princess without food during the long weekend he was going to spend away from you.Because yes, you had fought for your parents, especially your father, to leave you at the mansion alone. Yet they knew you could handle yourself, after six consecutive years at Durmstrang, it was rare not to know how to handle yourself.
The meal was just as nerve-wracking for Severus as he couldn't help but make you laugh which made your breasts jiggle under the thin fabric of your dress. You even bent down to grab the pepper on the table which allowed him to see that you were indeed not wearing a bra. He almost choked, his imagination and hormones still running wild. By the end of the meal, Severus was convinced that he was going to lose his mind before the end of the weekend if it continued like this.
"Y /n, could I know where the bathroom is? I'd like to take a shower before I go to sleep, if that's possible," Severus asked, convinced that a nice cold shower would put his mind at ease.
"Oh, of course. The bathroom is upstairs. It's the first door on the left. Do you need me to lend you something? Slippers, a nightgown?” you asked as a particularly Machiavellian idea appeared in your mind.
At this point of the evening, you had understood that your boyfriend, who you thought was so innocent, had started to understand that you were no longer a child and that your body was indeed the one of a young adult. Seeing him almost choke at each movement you made and that revealed a little more of your forms, was, it had to be said, a most amusing spectacle. So you let him go up the stairs to the bathroom and slowly followed him once the plates were washed and put away.
Meanwhile, Severus had slipped out of his black clothes and into the bathtub, which was filled to the brim. It wasn't every day that he could afford a nice hot bath and he was sure you wouldn't mind if he took a few drops of the Muggle lotions that adorned the rim of the big tub. He slipped all the way into the water, after a deep breath, desperate to calm his ardor. If Severus Snape was so determined not to give in to temptation it was mainly due to the bad treatment he had received from the Marauders, humiliating him to the point where his body was dripping and he was unable to touch himself, even alone. So how could he have succeeded in maintaining a carnal relationship with anyone? Love, love was different, he felt it and managed to express it, but sex? Very little for him. Finally, this afternoon spent by your side had shown him that even if the thing seemed inconceivable to him, he was still capable of desiring someone. And to want you, he wanted you really bad. He opened his eyes, his head still immersed in the bathtub, and saw through the water a figure towering over him. He emerged from the water recognizing your little face.
There you were, standing in front of him, you had left your corset behind and were now wearing only your black dress. Your face was still impassive.
"Y/n? What the..." he began.
"Sev', do you love me?" you didn't let him finish, starting your Machiavellian plan. "Because I'm starting to doubt it, you know? You've been acting weird ever since you got here. So tell me the truth, Severus. Don't you want me?" as you spoke his words, you let your robe slip off at your feet showing yourself completely naked to him.
Severus could not believe his eyes. In that moment, he couldn't stop his eyes from devouring you, his cheeks from turning red, and his sex from growing. The fire that swept over him was so sudden that it took his breath away. You were satisfied with your little effect, but when Severus didn't move, just clung to the edge of the tub, you slid as sensually as possible into the bath without taking your eyes off him. Severus watched you, holding his breath. Yes, you were definitely going to drive him crazy.
"-Severus, how do I look?" you asked again as he still hadn't said anything.
"Y/n... You don't know what you're saying. I... I want you so much, you can't even imagine how much but..." Severus was short of breath, "I've never done anything, never even t-touched myself. I wouldn't know how to... I wouldn't know how to do it and I could only..." you cut him off, kissing him gently as tears of frustration flooded down his face.
You felt a little bad now that you knew the truth. You had never wanted to made him cry but you understood that he needed to cry so you let him, kissing his cheeks, his nose, his eyes, in fact, everything that was within your reach, wanting to reassure him a maximum.
"Shhhhh Sev'... It's okay, don't worry. I'm here.  Shhhhhh... Oh boy ! I could never be disappointed in you, Sev' I assure you. So please don't cry anymore. I hate seeing you like this. I love you so much, you know." you continued to kiss him with your arms around his neck.
"I-i love you so much t-too ," he replied between sobs.
Severus was drowning in your affection, his whole body burning. He felt so good in your arms, covered in your kisses. You covered him with tender kisses for another moment, telling him how beautiful he was in your eyes between two kisses. Once the sadness passed, he wanted to return your affection, covering the zebra skin of your breasts with soft kisses which felt like butterfly wings. Then the butterflies became more urgent as your hand clung to his ebony hair and your lips let out sighs of pleasure. You pulled your lover's face up to steal a passionate kiss, your two foreheads finally pressed together, your body slightly elevated as Severus had his arms around your waist.
"Do you... do you want to go all the way Sev'? I certainly don't want to force you to do anything you don’t want, love."
How? Weren't you supposed to not give him ridiculous nicknames? I don't remember saying that. Severus nodded, pulling you tighter against him.
"Guide me, Y/n," he breathed.
His voice was infused with desire, as was his entire body. He was overflowing and tense with desire beyond your touch. You placed his hands in the places you knew were your pleasure points, guiding him to know what to do. His lips came to rest on your neck as you told him to, as your hands slid gently through the cool bath water to land on his crotch. It may have been hard to believe but Severus Snape was very well built, his sex was moderate in size but not all the way down, his base and glans were wider than the rest. It was also slightly curved towards the glans. If you hadn't already had other relationships you wouldn't have realized just by touching him, that Severus was just perfect for you. Your fingers began to do him good, drawing grunts from him that made your skin tingle as he didn't stop his attentions. When you felt him grow a little larger in your hands you stopped your stroking, spreading your own legs just enough for him to enter.
"Severus... I want to cum with you..." he understood the invitation taking his sex in his hands and positioning it facing the entrance to your pussy.
He didn't really know what to do once he entered so it was you who guided him again, initiating back and forth, impaling yourself a little more each time, your hands resting on his shoulders. Severus moaned with each return, feeling your insides react to his member. You weren't especially tight, but he was still able to fill you up completely. You guided him for a moment and then he felt confident enough to take over. Slowly but surely, he varied the strength of his thrusts. Then he added his lips in your neck making you plant your nails in his shoulders when a so good and... unexpected pleasure. Instinctively, he squeezed you tighter as the last thrust inside you came accompanied by waves of immeasurable pleasure. He had finished before you but you were so close to cumming that you couldn't stop a groan of frustration from coming out of your mouth.
"This one is different from the others. Did I hurt you?" Severus fretted as he came to stop, causing you to let out another frustrated moan.
"No, no, no ! I... Can you go on a little longer, please? I'm not far..." you whispered in his ear.
He undulated his pelvis gently under you, a sneer coming to perch on his lips.
"What exactly do you want, Y/n? I need you to explain it to me precisely, please. I don't think I'm experienced enough yet to understand your demands without you finishing your sentences," he said, kissing your temple.
He knew perfectly well what he was doing now. You wanted to protest by realizing it but it had started again to undulate under you, letting out of your mouth only words drowned between your moans. He ended up kissing your temple again, letting you breathe and waiting for your answer.
"I want you to fuck me until... Until I cum Severus, please!" you finally managed to articulate making Severus' smile grew wider and wider.
"Gladly, love," he replied as he began to pound you again.

A/N: Ohohohoho word vomit, Toshi was really nagging in the back of my brain. So here it is... along with Mr. Hey Hey Hey Kotaro. I don't really know whether I've gotten better at writing. Still, I hope you enjoy though.
HAIKYU! BOYS & S/O ARGUED BEFORE AN IMPORTANT EVENT
Wakatoshi Ushijima
It’s rare for Ushijima to be silent whenever he really has something to say. He’s always been upfront. He always says what’s on his mind even if you may or may not like it. Of course, honesty and being genuine really helped you all through out your relationship. Yet, it’s different this time. He’s awfully quiet (like really, really, really quiet). He’s not even sparing you a glance across the living room. It looked like something’s brewing inside him and you can’t figure out what.
“Love, come on. Talk.”, you told him while standing on the doorway. You are wearing your work clothes except for the doctor’s coat that’s on your arm. Your shift’s about to start in two hours but you need to be at the hospital an hour before for the endorsements and other stuffs. “Babe…” you pleaded once more as you try to coax him to say something. But no avail. He just shifted on his seat, his eyes focusing on the tv screen. You sighed.
“Toshi, I’m really sorry about this. I didn’t know this would happen, that I would replace another doctor’s shift—” you mumbled on his neck as you hugged him in his seat. "Because you forgot to block your schedule for the next day." He said, cutting you off. It felt like cold water was splashed down on you. You can’t help but sigh in resignation. “I’m sorry.” That’s all you can say because it really is your fault this time.
Wakatoshi told you to clear your schedule a week ago before you shuffle shifts for the week. He knew that a doctor’s working schedule is erratic. That there some days and nights that you’re not going to be home and you’ll rarely see each other. There are some days that you and Toshi can spend more time together. He knew, that is why he asked you beforehand. “Yeah, sure babe.”, you agreed. You saw his rare boyish grin. However, you had a busy day at work and it slipped your mind.
“I’m really sorry, babe. I promise I’ll be there. I’ll really, really try hard to be there tomorrow. But I got to go. Love you.” You reassured him one last time then gave him a chaste kiss on his cheek. You rushed out the door. As much as you hate to leave your sulking husband, you have to. You pledge to do everything with chosen profession. Honestly, you felt terrible but you know better than to bring personal problems at work. Wakatoshi heard the door closed as you went out. He doesn’t know if he’s disappointed or frustrated. He’s really looking forward that Sunday brunch because your parents are going to be there.
You arrived at work but your mind seems to fling back to the look you last saw on Ushijima. You can’t help but internally berate yourself for absolutely forgetting. You shrugged the thoughts off as you finished reading/studying the patient’s chart. You’ll make your morning rounds in a few hours and you’re starting to get dizzy from all the hospital buzz. You found it unusual so you decided to get it checked.
Your shift ended 30 minutes before the brunch so you just texted Toshi that you’ll just meet him there and that the both of you have things to discuss. He just replied “ok”. O-K, two letters. As much as it frustrates you, you cannot do anything about it since you’re kind of at fault here. Now you got to make it up to him and you just know the perfect thing to do.
You arrived at the venue, both of your parents and Toshi are already there. You went to place a chaste kiss to your husband and greeted your parents after. In the middle of the small gathering, your parents pointed out that both you look awkward and seems to be having a problem. There is no point denying it since your parents already saw it through. They gave you guidance and advices, as you admit that it was your mistake. To make it up for everyone especially Toshi, you handed them white envelops.
Your lips pursed in anticipation and preventing a grin. You witnessed how their reactions changed from confusion to surprised to elation. Your mother was crying. Both of your dads are teary eyed. Your darling husband, oh the man’s got stuck on his seat, his left hand tightly holding the paper.
“Are you serious?” he asked you, still trying to wrap the information in his head. “Oh, so you know how to talk?” you teased him which earned you a grunt from him. “Of course! Laboratory tests results don’t lie. I was thinking of using peed on tests but I figured laboratory tests would be more reliable plus it’s free since I work there.” You quickly supplied as you gobble up the fruits on your plate.
Wakatoshi pulled you for a kiss and a hug along with the murmurs of ‘I love you’ and ‘I’m gonna be a dad.’.
Indeed, it was a great make up gift to your then disappointed husband.
Kotaru Bokuto
All through out your relationship with Bokuto is nothing but perfect. Perfect in a sense that you are equal in everything, he has been a reliable and responsible partner to you as you are to him. You balance out each other. Since the beginning of your relationship—when you first met and become acquainted—to the whole marriage and building a home with you, he has been a stable partner despite his ‘antics’. Bokuto has his tendency to mess up but he always gets back up. He has these weaknesses (per Akaashi) but he always comes around to make up for it. You know all these things about him and you love him no less.
There is no perfect relationship and couple fights are not uncommon especially to the two of you. The only catch is that the both of you are willing not to sleep on it until you’ve come up to a resolution. The biggest fight you had is when Bokuto tried to act up because your schedules didn’t permit you to see him before he left for a game—this way back before you had your first child. You almost call everything off. You were just so overwhelmed with the marriage, the pregnancy (which Kou didn’t know about yet), and work. So, it ended in a huge fight that was resolved three days later. Since then, the both of you are trying to not make disagreements into arguments. But not this time…
You just arrived from the business trip. You had a long day and receiving the news from the teacher that Bokuto didn’t show up for the meeting just makes you want to pull your hair out in frustration. Bokuto met up with you in the doorway and tried to kiss you but you moved away. You went to your bedroom and changed. Bokuto followed you with a pout.
“Not now, Kou. I’m not happy with you right now.” you said as you do your nightly routine. “Baby why? Did I do something? You just got back from work. I took care of the house and our son. What did I do wrong?” Bokuto was utterly confused.
“Really now, Kou?” you spat, crossing your hands on your chest. “No, baby, I really have no idea.” Bokuto insisted calmly.
“Kou! You told me you’d attend the teacher’s meeting today but you didn’t! I found because the teacher texted me and I have to freaking call her just to apologize and to be informed what went on with the meeting. Ugh…! You… I just can’t with you right now.” you groaned in frustration. You recalled the moment you read the teacher’s message as you drive your way home. It turns out that that meeting was for the parents of the kids that’s going to finish the school term with special distinction and your husband was no show. You also recalled how tight you gripped the steering wheel that your knuckles turned white.
Kou’s expression changed like he remembered something he forgot about which fueled your anger more.
“You forgot?! You freaking forgot?! What the crap!” your voice went an octave higher and scoffed in disbelief. “Kou, I can’t believe you!” you said before Kotarou could retort because at the moment he’s at loss for words. He indeed forgot.
You are fuming. Despite how busy you were, you reminded him and he still forgot. You just controlled your urge to throw the lotion bottle at him. You groaned in frustration, a bit calmer now. Your husband sat down on your bed, head bowed down like a little kid being reprimanded.
“The meeting was that important, Kou. The teacher said that the attendees of that meeting are the parents of the children who has a special distinction this end of the school term. Our son was one of them.” Bokuto looked at you, eyes shone with pride but that was only for a brief moment the second you glared at him. “And you missed it.” You continued. Bokuto knew he can never argue with you on this, clearly, he’s at fault. “Babe, I’m very sorry.” He mumbled. You sigh. It already happened. You already forgave him before he apologized but it doesn’t mean you’re gonna let him go that easily. “Whatever, Kou. I’m sleeping.”
This was the last conversation you have, days ago. Until today you still ignored Bokuto not because you’re still mad at him—you already forgave him the morning after when he made you breakfast, but you like to see him grovel. The thing is, you want Bokuto to understand that there are responsibilities that goes beyond than providing comfort and stuffs for the family and sometimes he forgets that.
“Baby owl, look at our son. I can’t believe he’s up going up there to receive his first award in kindergarten.” He whispered, still a little wary, because you still haven’t talked to him properly. You hummed in answer. Bokuto looked at you with pleading eyes, “Babe, please. You haven’t talked to me properly in days. I miss you.” You looked at him, one brow raised. “I promise to be better. I promise not to forget things anymore especially if it concerns our son, just forgive me and talk to me.” He continued, with a subtle pout. You want to laugh, his expressions never changed. “Yes, Kou. I already forgave you.” Just as you finished saying those words and before Kou could answer, your son appeared in front of you. “Mommy forgive dada? Mommy kiss dada now?” You and Bokuto looked at each other and then laughed. “Yes, yes, yes, little owl. Mommy forgave me. Dada can kiss her now.” Your husband answer while winking at your son. “Yes! Yes! Yes!” your son gleefully cheered.
Kou kissed the top of your head while whispering 'I love you'. Kou then whispered praises to your son as you walked out of the venue hand in hand, off to your home where you’re going to celebrate all the milestones in life.

You Never Walk Alone | Chapter 5
Genre: Werewolf!AU, Poly!AU?, Mate!AU, romance, fluff
Pairing: OT7 x Reader
Characters: Student!reader, Omega!Seokjin, Alpha!Yoongi, Beta!Hoseok, Alpha!Namjoon, Omega!Jimin, Beta!Taehyung, Alpha!Jungkook
Summary: You live a quiet life in your late grandfather’s cabin in the woods. You go to school just to graduate and get your diploma, not to make friends or stand out from the crowd. That was until one day, you enter your home to see a pack of wolves that need shelter.
Life seems good now. You have Taehyung as a friend and the wolves, that’s all you need. But soon, the inevitable comes and it’s time to say goodbye.
Tumblr media
“(y/n).” Someone called your name and you opened your eyes. You were in the field that you usually relaxed in with the wolves. Looking up, you saw a boy standing there. He had pale skin and jet black hair.
“W-Who are you?” You asked. He came up to you until there was only a thin space of air between the two of you. You stepped back but he circled an arm around your waist to hold you in place. Suddenly, he pulled you against him to hug you tightly.
“Umm...” You mumbled, your cheek smushed against his chest.
“Remember, my fur is the most beautiful.” He whispered in your ear with a dark chuckle that sent shivers down your spine.
“Y-Yoongi?” Your eyes widened as you stepped back in shock. He pulled away and started running away, leaving you to stand there in the field alone. Was that really Yoongi?
“Wait!” You ran after him. You called out after him but he wouldn’t stop running. All you could hear was his light laughter as you continued to run.
“Yoongi?” You saw him disappear behind some trees. But when you walked over, all you saw was a white wolf.
“Hey...” You bent down, holding your hand out. The wolf stood up and headed over to you. He sniffed your hand and licked it gently, leaning his cheek against your palm. You smiled softly as you felt his soft fur tickle against your skin. There was more howling behind you and you turned around, standing back up. You faced the 6 wolves.
“What?” There was a sudden blur and in the wolves place, you saw 6 boys standing there. You backed away and bumped into someone’s chest. When you turned around to apologise, it was the pale boy from before.
“Are you really... Yoongi?” You asked in disbelief. He held your hand in his, putting it against his cheek.
“What’s going on?” You faced the others. It was the same boy as your other dream, the human form of Jimin that teased you about chicken.
“You’ll be fine.” He spoke, smiling softly.
BEEP BEEP BEEP
Your eyes shot open and you sat up, reaching over to turn your alarm off. The wolves were not in your room. You headed downstairs and found them already awake, mostly just lounging around. Yawning, you went to wash up before going back down to make breakfast.
“Morning.” You stroked their heads.
“(y/n)...” Jimin whined. The boys had woken up earlier because today was going to be their last day with you.
“What’s wrong, Jiminie?” You cooed, leaning to kiss the top of his head. He stepped closer and brushed his head against your thigh, burying his cheek into your skin.
“I don’t have school today so we can spend the day together.” You bent down, sitting on the couch. The wolves sat around you, Jungkook placed his head on your lap and you ran your fingers through his fur, rubbing his ears.
“What’s up with you guys?” You looked at them. All of them sent you sad looks and you blinked at them.
“You hungry? Is that it?” Laughing, you stood up and went to the kitchen to get breakfast ready. It was nice to have a free weekend with no school and work. You made meat for the boys and when they smelled the bacon, they seemed to be back to normal, jumping for your attention so you would give them a taste. You gave them small pieces as a treat.
“Here.” You placed the bowls down.
“Guys, don’t make it too obvious. We don’t want to ruin her day. Just let her spend it with us happily.” Namjoon sighed. The rest nodded in agreement.
“Go ahead.” You sat with them and ate. Of course, Jungkook got rice all over his snout but you were more than willing to clean it for him.
“You’re so messy Kookie.” You laughed.
“Is it weird that I dreamt of all of you as humans? Like all 7 of you were in my dreams as human boys.” You suddenly said and the wolves stopped. They subtly side eyed each other at your words.
“But that’s just me being crazy.” You ruffled Hoseok’s fur with a smile. After eating, you cleaned the area and washed the dishes. You shuffled to the couch, placing your mug of water down and turning on the television. Today was going to be a total relaxed day.
“Yah! Taehyung!” You saw him stick his entire nose into your mug to drink your water.
“Ah... It’s yours now. Go ahead.” You scoffed, rolling your eyes. Taehyung gave you a big grin, flashing his canines as he stuck his entire nose into your mug again to drink your water.
“You guys have your own water, you know?” You nodded over to the metal bowls of water you have set out for them.
“The water tastes better when I share it with you.” Taehyung grinned, making the others scoff.
“The weather is still really good. Shall we go for a walk?” You stood up and stretched. The wolves all barked and you laughed, switching the television off and going to change. You tied your hair up into a messy bun and wore your shoes. The wolves led the way while you tried your best to keep up. You knew they were slowing down for you.
“You guys don’t need to wait for me. I’ll feel bad.” You told them.
“No way are we leaving you alone.” Jin shook his head as he continued to trot beside you.
You all continued hiking and actually made it to the cliff edge. The forest was beneath you and you stared out into the horizon. The wolves sat beside you, the wind blowing their fur back.
“This feels nice. Like we’re complete.” Jungkook closed his eyes.
“The view is amazing.” You took a deep breath. You sat down with the wolves around you. Jimin licked your cheek gently and you giggled.
“My grandfather and I used to go for walks all the time. He loved nature as well and I remember how even as a kid, he would always bring me for long walks to experience nature. I just know that he would have loved to meet all of you.” You sighed happily, thinking of your late grandfather.
“It was always just the two of us. But now, I have all of you.” You smiled, laying your head on Namjoon’s middle. He sniffed you gently and you kissed his muzzle as you relaxed.
“And we have you.” Taehyung scooted next to you.
“I thought that I was just destined to be alone forever. I was always bullied for being alone to the point I felt like I just didn’t need friends.” You continued.
“You’ll always have us. We’ll never leave you.” Jimin placed his paw on top of your hand, making you chuckle.
“Then grandpa died so suddenly. All I want to do is graduate high school and support myself properly. You know, live life as much as I can. Ever since you 7 came, I don’t think I’ve ever felt happier.” You kissed Hoseok’s head.
After staying there for a couple of hours relaxing, you all went back to the house. As you entered, the wolves stood outside, looking uneasy. You realised that you were going in alone and turned around to see all of them just standing in the front yard.
“What...” You stopped when you realised what was going on. The day has come, the one your dreaded.
“You’re leaving.” You stated. Jimin whined, his head lowering.
“It’s okay. I guess we knew that you couldn’t stay here forever right? You guys can’t possibly stay here forever- Sorry.” You looked away as your voice cracked. Taking deep breaths, you tried not to cry.
“Do you guys mind just having dinner with me? We didn’t have lunch and you guys must be hungry.” You requested. The wolves looked at each other.
“I hate seeing that look on her face.” Yoongi cursed.
“Let’s just have one more meal with her as wolves.” Jungkook sighed. They all looked at Namjoon, their pack leader. Namjoon gave a nod and the wolves looked back at you before going into the house.
“Thank you.” You whispered and went to the kitchen. You took beef out, which you actually saved to surprise them with and turned on the flame. The wolves immediately smelled the meat, along with your salty tears. They watched as you quickly took a towel and turned away from them to wipe the tears from your eyes. You met eyes with them.
“It’s just the smoke.” You quickly excused, fanning your eyes to emphasise your point.
“She’s crying...” Their hearts all broke at your tears.
“Please don’t be sad, (y/n).” Taehyung came up to you and pawed at your feet, whimpering. You forced a smile and petted his head before going back to flipping the meat in the pan.
While you waited for the beef to cook, you made some ramen for yourself. You didn’t want to waste any time cooking.
“Here. Enjoy. I bought these as a surprise for you guys.” You placed the pieces of beef down in front of them. The wolves leaned in and began to eat up the meat. You had some beef with your ramen too but you just weren’t hungry.
“Have it.” You gave them your beef.
“(y/n), you have to eat too.” They whined.
“It’s okay, I’m not hungry.” You shook your head as you stirred your ramen around but didn’t eat. Instead of gobbling down everything, the wolves ate slowly. They were all sad to see you sad, after all, they did share your emotions. You picked some bites here and there.
After the silent dinner, you were standing by the door with the wolves. They all stood in a semi circle, looking at you.
“I know you guys can’t stay here forever. It isn’t right of me to force you to stay either.” You smiled at them. Namjoon stepped up to you and you bent down.
“Be safe and don’t get hurt anymore. Promise me, you’ll visit.” You gave them all kisses and hugs, which they reciprocated by licking your cheek and giving you boops with their noses.
“We will see you again very soon. We will never be too far away from you.” Namjoon comforted.
“Thank you for accompanying this lonely girl.” You laughed.
“Don’t say that about yourself.” Yoongi sighed. The wolves waited for you to re enter the house. Once they knew you were safe, they retreated.
“I’ll see you soon.” You smiled as you cried.
That night, you cried yourself to sleep, looking at the only picture of you and the wolves you had on your phone. Jin’s light grey fur, Yoongi’s pristine white fur, Namjoon’s charcoal black fur, Hoseok’s white fur with a light brown coat, Jimin’s light brown fur, Taehyung’s dark brown fur and Kookie’s dark grey fur.
They were all so unique and beautiful in their own way. The way you ran your fingers through their soft coats. You’ll never forget that feeling.
It was thanks to Jimin. You believed that fate brought him to your house that very night he got injured. Wolf or human, he was your first friend. He was so gentle and friendly.
The next day, you woke up to a quiet house. There was no sounds of footsteps, growls or whines in the living room. You headed downstairs to find the living room dark and empty. Life was back to the way it was.
“I need to go grocery shopping.” You changed and locked the door. As you were heading down to the bus stop, you saw some trucks drive past you.
“New neighbours?” You were the only cabin in your area but you were excited at the thought of new neighbours.
Maybe this was your wolves sending you the luck of making new friends.
As you waited for the bus, you turned to see the edge of the forest. Of course, there was no wolf standing there. You sighed, mentally scolding yourself for even thinking that you would see the wolves standing there, waiting with you for the bus. You had grown so used to them following you to the bus stop that it was just a habit of yours to look there.
“At least they’re free.” You told yourself as you smiled softly and stepped into the bus.
-
“Im back!” Taehyung walked through the door with his hands full. He had gone to pick up some things for the other boys while the others were unpacking their clothes in their rooms.
“Did you see her?” Yoongi asked from his spot on the couch.
“Narrowly missed her when I took the bus back. She was going out to town.” Taehyung replied.
“How was she?” Jin came out of the kitchen.
“Not so good.” Taehyung shook his lowered head. The others all came out to the living room. Jimin wrapped his arms around his best friend to hug him.
“Let’s hope, she’ll be better tomorrow.” He comforted and Taehyung nodded. Jungkook grabbed a glass of milk from the fridge. He remembered one time he purposely spilt your glass of milk during breakfast just so he could drink some of it. Even if you were angry, you never showed it.
Taehyung wished he had a phone at the time he met you so he could exchange numbers with you. It would have been easier for him (and less awkward) to text you and check up on you.
“I’m going for a run.” Jungkook put his empty glass down.
“Have fun.” Yoongi yawned, wanting to go up to his room to take a nap. Jungkook removed his clothes, throwing it aside before transforming.
“Jungkook, Yoongi hyung. We got our crystals.” Namjoon stopped them. Jin took a box out with their coloured crystal necklaces. Each crystal reflected their own crystal colour.
Jin had pink, Yoongi had black, Hoseok had red, Namjoon had blue, Jimin had yellow, Taehyung had green and Jungkook had purple.
“This is for her.” Namjoon closed the box when there was one crystal necklace left. He kept it in his room while the rest returned to their activities. Jungkook’s large form took off into the forest. Jimin, Taehyung and Jin played their video games, Hoseok was building his new figurines that came in the mail, Namjoon read while Yoongi slept.
“Hyung, do we know how the hunters found us so easily?” Jimin asked Jin as they played.
“We’re not sure but we do have word from the North packs that the hunters have also been more diligent lately. We just have to be careful of where we are. Hopefully, we can stay here for a while.” Jin shrugged.
“Then the other night, (y/n) said she dreamt of us as humans, was that because of the bond?” Taehyung spoke.
“We didn’t plan to enter her dreams. We just appeared there so I would say it’s the bond that tied us to her and connected us.” The older said.
“I’ve entered her dream a few days after we met.” Jimin raised his hand.
“The same as the other night. I just appeared there and she was there. I was able to talk to her and she was able to talk to me, as if we were facing each other in real life.” Jimin relayed. The other two nodded their heads. Jin soon retreated to the kitchen to make snacks.
“Let’s try our best tomorrow.” Jimin turned to Taehyung.
“Honestly, it was so hard to control my wolf when I first saw her. I mean, I had to act like a complete stranger.” Taehyung laughed. Namjoon and Hoseok came downstairs.
“We’re trying to find out more about the wolf that tried to attack (y/n) that night we went to have our meeting.” Namjoon said.
“He wasn’t just a regular rogue?”
“He could be but why would he target (y/n)? Rogues don’t usually go out and attack humans out of no where. And (y/n) lives in such a secluded area of the forest. Why would a rogue come here?” Hoseok wondered.
“They are rogues for a reason. They roam around onto anyone’s land. They don’t obey boundary rules.” Taehyung shrugged.
“Let’s just hope he was just a rogue.” Namjoon sighed.
Jungkook came back from his run, his dark grey form covered in visible mud. Hoseok grabbed a hose to wash him down, not wanting the maknae to step into the new house like that and dirtying it. Jungkook growled at the older beta as he was drenched from head to toe. He shook the water out of his fur, making Hoseok wet as well.
“Yah.” Hoseok threw Jungkook a towel and he transformed back, wrapping the towel around his bare torso.
“That was too cold, hyung!” Jungkook complained.
“I’m not gonna risk you dirtying the house with dirt when we just moved in. We took so long just to clean it.” Hoseok scoffed, rolling his eyes. Jungkook grumbled and went in to have an actual shower.
“Hyung! I wanna eat after my shower!” Jungkook shouted as he entered his room, slamming the door behind him.
“AIsh, Jeon Jungkook.” Jin rolled his eyes as he took things out to start on their late lunch. It had been a while since Jin cooked since you have been taking good care of them. But of course, you never really understood what a big appetite wolves had so it was never really enough.
“Hoseok, help me cook the rice!” Jin called and the younger jogged over, saluting. He took the rice pot out and scooped multiple cups in.
“Can I help?” Taehyung came in.
“Help me stir this.” Jin let Taehyung take over while he busied himself with preparing the other meat side dishes.
“I have an idea! Let’s invite (y/n) over for dinner tomorrow. As new neighbours?” Taehyung suggested.
“She has work remember? Maybe the day after. If she’s up for it.” Hoseok reminded and the other two nodded their heads. They were excited to see you again and just wanted to get closer to you as humans, not as wolves. Jungkook came down and entered the kitchen. He saw the food that was ready and wanted to sneak some bites when Jin smacked him.
“You may have been able to do that with (y/n) but not with me.” Jin scolded and Jungkook whined like a puppy.
“You’re an alpha but still act like a puppy.” Jin ruffled his hair and Jungkook growled, rolling his eyes. He grabbed a piece an apple and walked to the living room to wait for the meal.
“Hyung is cooking?” A sleepy Yoongi came down. Jungkook nodded his head. The older alpha yawned and went into the kitchen.
“I miss (y/n).” Jungkook mumbled to himself.
Namjoon was taking a walk, scouting the area as the leader of his pack. He was just checking if there have been any intruders on their land besides the wolf that tried to attack you the other time.
“Ugh, did I overbuy?” He heard your voice and quickly hid himself behind some bushes. Peeking over the hedge, he watched as you trudged up the forest path with bags of groceries in your hands. Namjoon had to fight the urge that he had to just step forward and help you.
“Soon.” He sighed. But as you walked, he quietly threaded behind you, wanting to at least make sure that you make it to your house safely. He heard you humming to yourself.
“At least she’s not too sad.” Namjoon consoled himself. He knew you were strong and weren’t going to let emotions wear your down.
You were definitely the one.

Three Hearts- Tendou x Reader x Ushijima
Soulmate AU- updates will be posted to https://archiveofourown.org/works/32830702/chapters/81464533
You remembered Sendai as being cold, so, so cold. The summers were short but they were also filled with many days spent exploring. You were part of a binational family. Your mother was from the United States, your father from Japan. Most of your early childhood was spent bouncing between the two countries before, finally, it was decided that the schools in Japan were much (much) better. It wasn’t too much of a culture shock. But the freedom Sendai offered was intoxicating. In Japanese culture it was perfectly acceptable to send your child out on errands, or let them visit the local park, on their own.
It was on one of these after school excursions that you ran into your future best friend.
A humid June evening had you trailing along the bank of the local river. Cicadas and the current drowned out almost all other noise. You were debating turning back or taking a wade in the water when you saw a shock of red. There was another kid sitting by the river. One with a pretty vibrant bowl cut. However, when you got closer you realised his hair wasn't the only thing that was red.
"Uh, hey." You murmured, feeling more than a little awkward. "Are you okay?" He almost jumped out of his skin. Wide red eyes snapped towards you before hiding away.
The redhead hastily wiped at his eyes. "Y-Yeah."
"That didn't sound all that convincing." With a sigh you plopped down next to him, watching as he curled in on himself. You'd never been one to mind your own business, not even as a child. Seeing someone crying by themselves was an instant invitation for you to barge in and try to help.
"I'm fine."
"You're crying."
"No I'm not!"
"Hmm. . ." You leaned back, looking over the river. "So what's your name then? If you don't tell me I'll just have to call you cry baby."
“. . . It’s Tendou Satori.” He muttered. Tendou was eyeing you warily, like a stray dog afraid to take a treat from a stranger.
"I'm (L/N) (F/N). If you want me to leave I can, but you just looked so sad sitting here alone." You gave him the warmest smile you could before returning your attention to the water. Satori's red eyes stayed locked on you but he didn't ask you to leave. A few moments passed in silent solidarity before he spoke up.
"I'm usually alone."
"I know how you feel." You sighed.
"You do?"
"Well, yeah. I moved around so much before grade school that I don't know anyone here." You paused. "But, hey, now I know you, right?" Your smile made Tendou forget all about the tears. His cheeks flushed pink under the setting sun.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" Asked Satori, who desperately wanted to believe you were being genuine. But years of abuse had a hold on his heart.
You blinked. "Why wouldn't I be nice?"
". . . 'Cause I. . . Everyone says I'm a-"
"Ah! Look guys, it's the monster!" A group of children walked up behind the two of you. They were pointing at Satori with mocking grins. "You shouldn't get so close to him, he'll gobble you up!"
"Monster?" You glanced over at him but he was purposefully avoiding your eyes. If possible he would've liked to completely melt into the grass. Away from everything and everybody. But you weren't sinking into the ground, you were rising up. The bullies took a step back as you stomped up the embankment. "What gives you the right to call him that, huh?"
"W-What?" The ringleader stammered. "You've seen him, he's a freak! He shouldn't be allowed near us normal huma-"
He fell to the ground, clutching his cheek. Everyone's eyes were wide and glued to you.
"Y- You just punched me!?"
"And I'll do it again!" You stared down the boy while his friends helped him to his feet. Before you could say anything else, or fight a 1 v 4, someone grabbed your hand. Tendou dragged you away while you stuck your tongue out at the still stunned bullies.
Neither of you would ever forget that day. It was the start of a lifelong friendship, and eventually, something more.
On your first year of middle school you officially learned what soulmates were. It was assumed most parents would give you the talk before then, but the school board wanted youths to be prepared.
"They taught us about soulmates today in class." You were both lounging around in his room reading the newest Shonen Jump. You sat next to him on the bed, trying to keep up with his reading speed.
"Yeah?" You hummed.
"When you turn 18 your soulmate's name appears on your wrist. . . But, if you're older than them you have to wait for their birthday so the marks can appear at the same time. . . And then some people don't even get a soulmate." He wasn't paying attention to the manga anymore. His eyes were fixed to the floor while his brain waged war against itself. Tendou had been sure you were his soulmate since that first night. The butterflies in his stomach still hadn't gone away and every time he looked at you he felt like a pile of mush.
But, still, the 'I think you're my soulmate.' died on his tongue replaced with something much more depreciating. "I'm probably one of those people. Monsters don't get soulmates after all." His grin was shaky at best and you saw right through it.
"Don't call yourself that." You chided. "And of course you have a soulmate, Tori. Someone out there doesn't know how lucky they are. Soulmates with the best volleyball ball player ever. And the greatest friend ever, too."
You flopped down, holding your wrist in front of you. "I don't know if I'm excited or nervous."
"Well, it's a good thing, isn't it? Having a soulmate? You'll have someone who belongs with you and will love you no matter what." You pouted at him and he smiled, continuing with his speech. "I can't wait till we turn eighteen. And I know you can't wait either. Even if you're being a baby now."
Tendou had your eighteenth birthday planned out for years. Step one, he'd take you to the river where you met. Step two, shower you with presents and affection. And step three, wait for your soulmate's name, his name, to appear. Step four (profit), live happily ever after. However, like many things in life, it didn't go quite as planned.
On March 21st, right after the end of your final year of junior high, your mother died. It wasn't a shock, she had been sick for months, but the pain was still unbearable. Your mother's side of the family wanted to bury her in the family plot. An old tradition from an old, rural, part of America. Your father gladly handed the responsibility off to them.
Tendou remembered begging his parents to let him see you off at the airport. He remembered how red and puffy your eyes were, the sad smile on your face when you promised him you'd be back soon.
But you weren't.
Your father was in no shape to take care of you. Burying himself in his work to try and forget his loss. February came around and you had your 16th birthday in America. The first year of highschool had started without you. Tendou sent you pictures from Shiratorizawa every day, making you promise to try and get back as soon as possible.
Another February came and went. Your father was getting better and you were slowly but surely convincing him Japan was the right place for you to be. Tendou texted you every day, talking to you about his volleyball matches, his friend Ushijima, how much he missed you.
It was your third year of highschool and finally, finally, you were heading home. You told Tendou the news as soon as you knew. He seemed even more excited than you. You knew why, even if you didn't say it. Tendou had always been the one you thought of when you imagined your soulmate. But. . . There was something else you couldn't quite put your finger on. The whole thing made you nervous, so you kept your feelings to yourself.
Tendou stayed up all night on your birthday, hoping, praying. His eyes never left his wrist for a second and finally at 2:45 a.m. , something happened. Your name, in your sloppy, too quick, handwriting, appeared. The relief of ten years of wondering washed over him. He laughed, breathless and giddy. He immediately messaged you, sending you a picture of his wrist before a barrage of messages, most of them legible.
A minute passed by, then ten, then twenty. . .
You had to see it too, right? So why hadn't you said anything? You hadn't called, texted, or, hell, even emailed him. Tendou started to feel his heart sink with each passing moment.
What if you were disappointed?
Tendou's breath caught in his throat and he could feel his face burn. His phone clattered to the ground as he sank down into his bed. He tried to calm himself down, he didn't know what time it was where you were. Maybe you were out celebrating your birthday or sleeping? He just needed to sleep it off and give you time to respond.
Chest tight, Tendou waited. He waited till hours turned to days and suddenly it was March and his heart was broken. He wasn't sure what was going on at this point. You two had almost never gone a day without talking. But you hadn't read any of his texts or snaps. Eventually he stopped messaging you all together.
But he hadn't given up. He knew you were flying back to Japan soon and he was determined to ask you what the hell was going on.
By mid March you had moved back into your old home. Your father had graciously gotten a moving company for you and your meager belongings. Somehow he failed to show up himself though. You didn't blame him though, he was busy and you haven't been the best company recently. Before leaving America your grandma had begun calling you the walking dead. You were barely sleeping, your eyes were puffy with designer bags hanging heavily underneath. She understood why you were feeling so down and she was empathetic, but the rest of your small town wasn't.
You thought about the timing of it all as you began to unpack. The first box, full of books and notes, was barely empty before the doorbell rang.
Tendou was standing on your doorstep. Your soulmate was standing before you, and your first thought was to shrink back and pretend you weren't home.
He rang the bell again. "(Y/N)! I know you're home! I just. . . I just want to talk okay? . . . Please?"
Tendou stepped back as the door swung open. You were holding your wrist close to your chest, looking anywhere but at him. He could see how red your eyes were, though, and thought they matched his completely.
"Why?" He muttered. One pitiful idiot to another. "Was it so fucking awful? Having my name on your wrist?"
"It wasn't. . ." You started. "Tendou, it wasn't just your name."

A couple of days have passed and you were only getting more giddy as time passes. It sounds stupid as hell, and sometimes you can't help but curse yourself for having a crush on someone so unattainable. The thrill, though, is what excites you, and knowing that there's a possibility Jin may reciprocate the same feelings. Since he had placed his number in your phone, he had sent you random, occasional 'have a good day!' texts and smiley faces. Maybe it didn't help that he was only fueling the fire by sending you texts like this. You couldn't help but ponder on the thought that you had crossed his mind from time to time, and that my friends, was fucking attractive.
"Her head game was on point." Taehyung smirked and leaned back in his chair, making Ryujin roll her eyes at him.
"You're sick, no one asked about your night."
"Why do you sound so mad, sweetie?" He leaned closer to her.
"I'm not mad." She scooted her chair away from him. "Can you believe this right now?" She shot you a look, but you were too busy texting on your phone, responding to the messages you couldn't get to earlier.
[jin] 3:05pm: I hope your day has been treating you well. See you soon?
[y/n] 5:37pm: Been a little busy, but hasn't been bad. :) Excited for class!
You laughed at yourself because who even says 'Excited for class' like that? You were really playing yourself right now.
"Earth to Mr. Kim's mistress?" You shot Taehyung a look and immediately shoved his face away.
"Jeez, you've been glued to your phone so much lately. Did you find new dick, or something?" Ryujin asked as she rested her chin on the palm of her hand.
"No, god. I've just been trying to keep myself occupied." She shrugs and doesn't press any further. Thank god, because you hadn't told any of your friends how Jin comforted you that evening and how he had given you his personal number just to check in every now and then. You didn't plan on telling them anytime soon, only because they'd be dramatic about it and you didn't have the energy to calm the chaos that would ensue.
"Speaking of - have you guys started the assignment due next week for Mr. Kim's class?" Jimin kept his eyes on the work in front of him.
"No. I'll probably do that the day of." Taehyung says as he texts on his phone.
"I was going to ask him for help later."
"Were you now?" Jimin rose his eyebrow, shooting you a look.
"Yes, and it's only because I can't choose which topic to write about."
"Why don't you ask us?"
"Because this always ends up being an open-ended debate and the conversation ultimately ends with no decision made." Jimin nodded in agreement.
"Touché."
"Bat your eyelashes while you're at it, kay?" Ryujin giggles.
"You guys are free to join me."
"Mmm no thanks, I don't think I need any help right now." Jimin responds.
"Same. Besides, I'd rather not cockblock."
"Honestly so sick of you guys." You all end up packing your things to head to Jin's classroom, all four of you entering one by one and taking your seats near the front. Class goes by rather quickly, you and Jin stealing glances from time to time. Ryujin, Jimin and Taehyung offer to wait up for you near the library and you simply nod, letting them know you'll only take a quick minute to talk about the assignment. Once they've disappeared from the hallway corridor, you turn on your heels to make your way over to Jin at the front desk, where he's arranging his things and getting them together.
"Y/N, hey." He smiles at you, tilting his head to look at you from his stance. "What's up?"
"I uh, just wanted to ask for your opinion about the assignment. If.. you aren't busy?" He chuckled and shook his head.
"No, not at all. What's going on?"
"Well, I've just been having trouble deciding on a topic." You placed your things down.
"Alright, try me." He nods towards the whiteboard, signaling for you to scribble your ideas onto the board so he could help you map out your thoughts. You quietly walk over, grabbing the only black whiteboard marker available and start talking through your thoughts. He sits on the desk, arms crossed, watching you scribble on the board. He chimes in every now and then, either agreeing or disagreeing, and providing his honest opinion as to what might work best for the assignment.
"Mm, okay. I think that makes better sense." You step back and take a look at the things you've crossed out and circled, leaving you to finalize the topic for your assignment.
"Yeah, I think so." He stands and nods in agreement. You turn to look at him, only to realize how close in proximity your body was to his. His hands are tucked into his pockets while he looks down at you. Both of you don't move, regardless of how close you two are at the moment. You feel stuck, and the only option that crosses your mind is something you shouldn't even be thinking about. Yet, you still act on it. You find yourself on your tippy-toes laying a kiss on his plump lips, but you quickly pull away and gasp, realizing what you had done.
"I-I'm so sorry, I-" You stutter as you step back to try and quickly grab your things. "I gotta go." You dash out of the room, your heart beating through your chest. As soon as you were far as possible from his room, you slowed your pace to gather your breathing. You facepalmed so hard because what the fuck! You felt dumb as hell for acting the way you did, let alone for thinking his texts and all the attention even meant anything.
Way to fucking go, Y/N. You could feel how embarrassing next class will be already.
As soon as you spot your friends, you try to put on a smile and brush the thoughts out of your head when you see them waving you over. Jimin instantly throws his arm around your shoulder, helping you feel at ease as you momentarily forget about the events that just transpired.
"Ready? We're gonna go grab some pizza before heading home." You smiled at him.
"Yeah, I'm down."
Jin grabbed his things, feeling a little conflicted about what just happened. He knew this was something that shouldn't have happened, nor should it ever happen again. Yet, he wanted more of this feeling you gave him. He longed for it. He couldn't explain the feeling he got when he felt your lips against his, he just knew he was interested in more. It was bad as fuck, but it was the same thrill you felt that peeked his interest.
Jin pulled into the lot of him and Grace's house, seeing he was the first one home yet again. It wasn't a surprise to him anymore, and quite frankly, he was used to being home first all the time. It would have been a surprise if Grace was here before he was. Not gonna lie, after what happened, it makes him feel a little empty inside. He's starting to feel like he wanted more of you and to see you outside of campus grounds. He wanted your company and enjoyed your presence, inside of the classroom and even through simple things like text. It just made him happy, and like he was appreciated. Wanted.
Yeah, that quick. He was starting to crave you.
He kicked off his shoes by the door and changed into comfier clothes. He took some time to work out at their home gym before eating whatever leftovers were left in the fridge. He happily warms up his food and quickly gobbles it up, leaving the dishes in the sink for him to get to later. He hops into a hot, relaxing shower, letting the heat hit his back and relax him from all the stress he had been experiencing lately. It was so relaxing that he didn't even hear Grace shut their front door. He only found out he wasn't alone when he heard dishes being washed and slammed onto the dish rack and cabinet doors being slammed shut. He dried himself off a bit, before wrapping the towel around his waist and heading into the kitchen to see what the commotion was.
"Hey, you're home." He says with a smile on his face, but she continued to place dishes on the rack without looking at him.
"Yeah, and you couldn't even think to wash your dishes and clean up the kitchen?" His smile immediately turned into a frown when he realized Grace was far from being in a good mood. Over what? Dishes that he was eventually going to wash anyways?
"I was going to get to them."
"Jeez, Jin. I've had such a long day, the least you could do is help out and clean up after yourself." She glared at him.
"Woah, hey. I do my part around here. Just because I didn't do my dishes right away doesn't mean I don't do anything at all under this house."
"Hasn't seemed like it." She walked away, brushing him off completely. If it's one thing Jin could point out about his fiancé, it was the fact that she liked to project when she was upset. It was the one thing that drove him crazy, and the one thing he felt like couldn't be fixed. It was just in her nature, no matter how many times they've fought and argued about it. He tries to be patient and understanding. He tries to relate. Yes, I'm sorry you had a bad day. But just because you had a bad day, doesn't mean you bring the negative energy into this house.
"That's not fair, Grace."
"Grow up, Jin." She snapped as she headed upstairs. "I'm going up to pack and head to bed." He continued to watch her, appalled at the attitude she was throwing tonight. He really couldn't understand why this was happening over some dishes. He didn't wanna be here right now, and he wasn't going to deal with this shit. To be honest, he was feeling a little relieved knowing he'd get some space from her when she flies to New York for a week. She had some work to do for the opening of her restaurant down there, plus some related projects for her book.
He heads upstairs to throw on some jeans, a hoodie and a hat before passing Grace in their walk-in closet.
"Off for a drive again, huh?" She says as she keeps her eyes on the luggage laid out in front of her. It's sad that Grace knows what Jin does whenever he doesn't wanna deal with her attitude. But, no matter how many times he's tried to communicate and talk it out, it never mattered to her.
"Yeah, because it doesn't seem like you can communicate properly tonight."
"And how is a drive supposed to help?" She turns to look at him, but he doesn't say anything. She scoffs before returning her attention back to the clothes she was packing into her luggage. "Perfect. Run away from our issues, Jin. It's what you do best." He shook his head and sighed.
"I'm not doing this with you tonight, Grace. Not over some dishes that were eventually going to get washed and fixed." He walked out, but turned back on his heel to finish off his thoughts. "You know, I really wanted to have a nice night with you. Pop some wine and put on a movie, just to enjoy being in each other's presence since it feels like we haven't done that in a really long time. But, so be it." He threw his hands up in defeat and continued to walk out. He really did want to try, though. Part of him felt like he needed to because he was probably just longing for that attention from his fiancé, which is why he had been feeling the way he had been about you. Maybe it would have helped him brush it off like it was a silly, little crush. However, tonight just amplified those feelings he had for you and he wanted nothing more but to just see you and hear your voice.
He lowers the brim of his cap as he walks to his car, instantly starting it up and driving off. At first, he was conflicted. He wasn't sure if he was making the right decision or not, or if his judgment was cloudy. But something in him tweaked and made him say, fuck it. He was tired, and for once, he just wanted to feel wanted.
You sat on your living room floor, putting together a vision board for yourself. A ton of magazine cut outs and printouts laid alongside of you, waiting to be organized onto the small white board. You had been rearranging the layout for quite some time, feeling a little frustrated at the perfectionist in you. This definitely could have been quicker if you hadn't picked at the fine details too much. It was nearing 10:30pm; after you and your friends had ate pizza together, you all went your separate ways, tired from this week's events already. You especially didn't want to linger around, the thought of you kissing Jin in the classroom still haunting you. You felt your phone vibrating off to the side, signaling a call coming in.
Speak of the devil.
You hesitate, afraid that this had to do with what happened earlier and to be frank, you weren't sure if you were ready to deal with the repercussions just yet. The call ends, but a text notification pops up at the top of your screen.
[jin] 10:27pm: Are you free right now?
[y/n] 10:28pm: Sorry, yeah I am. What's up?
[jin] 10:29pm: Can we meet up?
You stare at your phone, unsure if you should take the opportunity to see him. It could mean a lot of things, or it could mean nothing. It could be about the kiss, or it couldn't be. But, you can't help but feel a little guilty that he had been there for you when you needed someone and here you were, contemplating if you should blow him off.
[y/n] 10:32pm: Sure. Is everything okay?
[jin] 10:32pm: I think, kind of just need some good company.
[y/n] 10:33pm: Oh, okay. Yeah, I'll come. Just let me know where.
You watch as he drops his location into the message, and it's not too far from where you live. You actually are quite familiar with the area to know that he's sending you up to a view that overlooks the Bay Bridge. You and your friends used to go there often during undergrad, just to eat edibles and eat hella junk food. Those were the days. You all quickly outgrew it though.
The drive up is a little scary, with only a few street lights posted as you drive up the hill. You catch a glimpse of Jin's car, being that he's already leaning against it, facing the view. You pull up into the empty spot next it, taking a deep breath and recollecting your thoughts before stepping out. Whatever it is, just be honest. That kiss was because you wanted to kiss him, but perhaps you misread the vibe about everything.
Not perhaps. You for sure misread the vibe about everything. He's fucking engaged. There was no way.
"I brought you brownie." Is the first thing you say as you hand him a ziploc with a huge brownie square. "There's no weed in it or anything, I promise it's clean." He chuckles as he takes it from you. "I just figured you could use a picker upper since you seemed like you might've need it."
"Thank you." His trunk had been open, so he takes a seat and invites you to sit next to him. You leave a bit of space just to be sure, since you already crossed your boundaries earlier and you weren't even sure how that was gonna play in to tonight.
"So, what's on your mind?" You dread asking him the question but you knew there was a reason he brought you out here.
"I, uh. Just had a pretty tough day and wanted to surround myself around good company." He turned to look at you.
"Oh, so I made the good company list?" You chuckle.
"Yeah, you did." He looks back out at the view. You examine him, his body language still a little tense from whatever he had just experienced.
"Was it Grace?" You ask softly and he nods in return.
"We've just been having issues. It's no biggie."
"No biggie, huh? Then why are we out here looking at the bay bridge?" He chuckles again. You think it's cute the way his dimples under his eyes pop out when he smiles and laughs.
"Touché. I mean, what if I just wanted to hang out with someone who could cheer me up?"
"Wow, then that's a lot of pressure on me." You laugh. "I can already tell something's wrong. You were there for me, so I just want you to know that I'm all ears." He sighed.
"It's kind of dumb? Maybe not? Me and Grace just haven't been the same for awhile now."
"How so?"
"We're just distant. We haven't done things together like we used to because we're both busy and so wrapped up with work."
"Jin." You smile shyly because this couldn't be a serious excuse. You always need to try and make things work! "You know being busy shouldn't be an excuse, right?"
"I know, I know." He shakes his head. "I'm sorry, it's difficult to explain. I question if we're still in love with each other or if we're just sticking to this because we're comfortable."
"Deep down, I know you still love and care for her."
"I do. It's been hard to show that these past months. I guess.. what I'm trying to say is that it's been easy to focus more on the negatives than the positives. There have been more negatives than positives."
"Why don't you sit her down and talk about this?"
"I can't. I try, but I really can't. She's always coming home in a nasty mood all the time."
"Well, she might have a lot to balance on her plate. Not everyone approaches things the same way and if you know Grace easily shuts people out when she's overwhelmed or stressed, then I think you just need to continue supporting her by simply being there for her."
"I know." He looks down at his hands.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm just thinking. I hear you loud and clear though." He smiles at you toothlessly.
"Try talking to her. Work it out. I know she's important to you."
"She is but," He shakes his head once more. "I can't shake off this feeling."
"What feeling?"
"It's going to sound stupid."
"Nothing is ever stupid." He simply looked at you before responding.
"Earlier, in the classroom—" Fuck, you thought. You thought you had just gotten lucky tonight and that you both had put it past you so that you could move on without ever mentioning it. But half of you knew you'd still have to confront your mistake either way. Nothing was ever that easy.
"Jin, I'm so sorry, I didn't think about—"
"I didn't want you to stop." He spits out, causing you to stop mid-sentence. Your eyes widened after you had just registered what he had said. Was he fucking playing with you right now? This shit really couldn't be real.
"W-what?"
"I can't shake off this feeling because of you and as bad as it sounds, I really don't want that to go away."
"Jin." You say softly. "You should really work this out with Grace. This feeling is just temporary and you know it is because she's your fiancé. What happened earlier was a mistake and it shouldn't have happened." It kind of sucks, but it's true. You don't really know why you did what you did and what you wanted out of it. You knew what this would entail and it would be too messy. People would just end up getting hurt left and right. It would be a domino effect.
"Was it though?"
"I'm not trying to get in between you two." You beat around the bush with your response.
"Then, what did you want out of that earlier?" He stares at you. You can't help but feel yourself melt at the way he's eyeing you and the way he's actually teasing the fuck out of you with his piercing eyes.
"I don't know." He continues to stare, but this time his face is edging closer to yours.
"You can't even tell me straight up that it was nothing." He says, almost at a whisper. Your knees are starting to buckle beneath you and although you knew you needed to stop this, you couldn't see yourself doing it right at this moment.
"We shouldn't be doing this." You whisper, his lips inches away from yours at this point.
"Then why aren't you stopping me, Y/N?" No response. Before you knew it, your eyes were shut as your lips pressed against his. The feeling of his lips sent chills down your spine, his hand now tugging you closer to his body. You waste no time straddling his lap, deepening the kiss as your hands rest on his face and your hips grind against his. God, he was so fucking attractive and everything about him drove your ass crazy. You wanted him.
But you couldn't have him.
"Stop, stop." You edged your head back, reality settling in once his hands start to dip inside your sweats. "We really shouldn't be doing this." You climb off of him and gather your things.
"Y/N, wait."
"Jin." You turn to look at him. "Listen to me. We would never work."
"I wouldn't say never—"
"Look, this is already difficult as is and I'm trying really hard not to make this even more complicated for anyone. At the end of the day, you're still with Grace. You're still engaged to Grace." You emphasized. "I can't get in between you two, and I don't want to hurt her." How in the fuck did things escalate so quickly? How did we get here?
"I know that, and I know you don't. But you can't tell me that you didn't feel anything just now."
"I'm not saying that I didn't. I did, I-I do." You stuttered on your own words. "But I shouldn't be acting on it and neither should you. You should really focus on working things out in your relationship. I know deep down you love her and want to make this work."
"That's the thing, Y/N. I don't know how else I can make this work with her. I've ran out of options."
"Jin, you planned to marry her! You do understand that you can't just give up on someone like that, especially your future wife."
"As much as I appreciate this and understand where you're coming from, you don't know our relationship."
"I just don't want you to give up on her. I want you to try for her, not just because I told you so." He can see how serious things have turned, and  he knew you were right. This would be complicated. But damn, was he undeniably attracted to you and he loved the feeling he got from all of this.
"I-" He sighs. "You make me feel things that I haven't felt in a long time."
"You have your life planned out already, and so does Grace. You obviously saw a life and a future with her, and that's what you should continue building. I don't even know how to get from point A to point B in life and I still have shit to learn. Like-like changing car lights or how to do a fucking oil change by myself! I'm a mess. I'm not the one you should be thinking about."
"I don't care about that." He spits out as he gently grabs your wrist and turns you to face him.
"Don't make this harder than it already is." With all this shit going on, you still found yourself wanting him the same way you did earlier. Looking at him made you want to do unspeakable things and it didn't help that he gave you the green light to do so.
The temptations.
"I'm not trying to."
"We should really keep our distance from each other, okay? You need to work things out and I'm going to give you the space to do so."
"Fuck, Y/N. I really don't want that."
"I'm sorry." You whisper as you break free from his grip and get back into your car. You hear him groan, causing you to cry to yourself as you drive off and get back home. One mistake turned everything upside down, and now everything was suddenly 10x more complicated than it ever was in the beginning. You couldn't help but curse yourself and blame yourself for letting this happen the way it did.
But shit is done. The mistake happened. There was no taking it back.
You just needed to give him space to get over it, and that would be the end of it. Easy.
Or so you assume.

Stuck in Your Head
Tumblr media
Pairing: Henry Cavill x Reader
Word Count: ~2.7K
Warnings: Descriptive Depressive Episode and Discussions about Prescription Medications (specifically missing doses and having side effects)
A/N: This is my first time writing RPF so I decided to stick with something I know well. I substituted my own best friend’s name in so I didn’t have to deal with the pesky acronyms cluttering the story.
Buried underneath the covers, you were safe even though sleep continued to elude you. The chill of the morning was unable to pierce the walls of your blanket fortress. While the soft pitter-pattering of rain on your window would normally be able to lull you to dreamland, you were left to watch the rise and fall of the fabric.
Early daylight had danced its way across the room a millennia ago. No matter how deep you burrowed into your little nest, the light would seep through. So you tucked your head underneath your pillow and fought the urge to continuously check your phone. Watching time tick past would only make these growing frustrations and anxieties worse.
You remained curled up with your knees close to your chest, willing your hands to stop their shaking. All those exercises you had been taught in therapy seemed fruitless. Nothing could alleviate this numbness that had settled in your bones. Time continued to pass as you laid there, only daring to leave your bed’s warm embrace when your bladder was screaming in agony.
The spot where you laid never had to the time to cool. You were always sucked right back to it in record time like every episode before. Brain fog would cause the same thing every time. The days would seem to just blend into one another, a cycle of light and shadows that would chase each other around the ceiling. You would have no idea if you took your meds, what day it was, or even the last time you ate. Time would be nonexistent in your little blanketed world.
A soft vzzzzt came from outside your safe zone. Moving your hand slightly, you could just barely feel the vibrations of your phone. You paused as you tried to decide if you had enough energy to answer. It was most likely unimportant, another robocall about some silly matter. Sighing heavily, you drew your hand back to its previous position.
Silence fell over the room once more and you breathed a sigh of relief. You forced your eyes shut in hopes that you could finally sleep. Not more than a few moments passed before the quiet was broken yet again. The soft vzzzzt returned, requiring you to begrudgingly open your eyes. You hissed as you slowly rolled over, just enough to reach over and drag your phone under the covers with you.
You flipped your phone over as your best friend’s face filled up the screen. You know you should answer it, but you didn’t want to worry her. Ariel has enough going on without you dragging her into your shit. You quickly shot off one of those automated responses saying you’re busy and you’ll call back later before declining the call.
Carefully shoving your phone back out from under your blanket pile, you tried once more to adjust and get comfy. Finally, it seemed that the sleep you craved is upon you. You yawned before nestling your head deeper into your pillow and letting your eyes fall shut.
Tumblr media
You woke up sometime later and noticed that the bedroom is almost completely dark. You dare to glance at your phone and it’s only 6 pm. Stiff limbs quickly made themselves known as you tried to stretch. They crack and pop as you finally moved them, each crying out desperately for motion.
Slowly you sit up and allow yourself to slip out from your burrito. Every movement feels as if you’re wading through an endless pool of molasses. You rise to feet carefully and your knees buckle as they wake up to support you. Ambling towards the kitchen, you tried to scrounge up the desire for anything other than a few mints.
Your pickings are rather slim. Even then everything would take longer than you know you have the energy to stand for. Huffing as you grabbed handful of mints before you make your back to bed. You crawled back into bed, grabbing your laptop in hopes you can find someway to pass the next round of sleepless.
Popping a mint in your mouth and scrolling through the various entertainment options, you happened across a show you know very well. Another time you might have smiled at your luck. Of course it recommends something that he was in. Rolling over to grab your phone, you unlock it to check what time it is over there.
2 am the clock answered. You swallowed the lump in your throat, remembering what he said last time.
“I don’t care what time it is. If you need me, call. I’d do anything for you. “
You glance at the clock once more and you lose your nerve.
“He’s halfway across the world right now and under enough stress. You’ll talk to him again when Friday comes around” you rationalize internally, “That’s more than 3 days away. You’ll be back to your usual by then. You always are.”
You shake your head and push the phone off the bed. Tucking an arm under your head and curling your knees to your chest, placing your laptop on top of them. You settle in with Forensic Files, hoping that Peter Thomas’s voice will eventually get you more sleep.
Tumblr media
Sleep doesn’t come. You’ve lost count of how many episodes of Forensic Files that you’ve watched. All of them have blurred together. Once again the sun’s rays slowly painted your room in an array of reds, oranges, and finally yellows. Two more rounds of soft vzzzzt that go unanswered cause you to retreat back under the blankets once more.
For how long you remain there is unknown. All you known is that you’re forced to get up by your throbbing bladder. Then you’re back in your bed, curled up around a pillow and begging for sleep to come. Your body is sore, your mind is all fogged up, and by the time you do feel sleepy, the sun must be high in the sky.
Here's to another day of waking up after the sun has set. Daylight Savings Time is a bitch. There’s no use in checking your phone. You stretched and tried to sum up the strength to move your feet, knowing you need to at least try to make your way to the kitchen. Each step causes a shooting pain in your underused appendages.
Leaning against the counter, you grabbed a package of Cup Ramen from the cabinet. Not the healthiest choice, but the one that will take the shortest amount of time to cook. Adding the water and setting it in the microwave is the easiest part; having the strength to wait the 3 minutes to cook is the hardest.
Anxiety seeps in as you watched the timer go down. Tapping your fingers against your thigh, you tried to pass the time without throwing yourself into an anxiety attack. Finally, the microwave beeps and you let out a breath you hadn’t realized you’d been holding. You opened the microwave and quickly stirred the contents of the cup together.
You make the trip back to the bed that’s been calling your name since you left. Although you’re not hungry, you have to try to eat. You ate earlier right?....Your stomach hadn’t give any indication of hunger. You ate as much as you could stomach before leaving the unfinished meal beside your bed.
Grabbing your laptop, you scrolled through for something, anything to distract you. In a moment of clarity, you remembered that last time he mentioned a nature documentary which he said you should watch. You found it easily and turned it on, curling your body around your laptop. In your bones, the numbness reared it’s ugly head once more.
The animals in documentary didn’t cause you to laugh at their antics like they usually would. You had to pause it. You felt like you were drowning in this void. What once might have been enough to drag you out of the darkness, no longer could do so. You had been doing so well; going to your appointments and working on coping with your trauma only for the empty pit to gobble you up once more.
Screwing your eyes shut as you take in one shaky breath after the other. Whatever strength that was left in your tired limbs, you willed to help get you through. You needed to be fine, he needed you to be fine. Every inch of you shook with hurt and sorrow as sleep waded in and out of your mind. It took forever to succumb.
Tumblr media
A gentle chime woke you from your fitful sleep. You laid underneath your mountain of blankets and watched the gentle rise and fall that came with every breath you took. You blinked a few times as you attempted to stretch out your body. The chime had stopped by the time you were finally able to peak your head from where it was tangled in your cocoon.
The noise had emanated from your laptop. You inwardly curses yourself because you only know what that means. You left yourself logged into Skype and you reached a hand over to check who called. However, as soon as you did, the chime started up again, his name flashed on your screen.
A sob threatened to break loose from your lips.  It couldn’t have been Friday already. Skype dates only happened on Friday and Saturdays, that was your routine. You glanced around your room and contemplated slamming your laptop closed. Based on the colors of the sun that painted your bedroom’s walls, it was early, much too early for his call.
Deep down you knew he would keep calling until you responded and as much as it pained you to do so, you had to give into him. You moved the cursor to hover over the accept button. With a deep breath, you clicked accept. You waited for the swoosh that always came before his face filled the screen.
You couldn’t face him like this. He didn’t deserve this. Your stomach was already upset, it didn’t need your anxiety making it worse. Burying your face in your hands, you heard the tell-tale noise that the call connected.
“Darling, there you are,” he exclaimed.
You had no choice but to peek between your fingers to see his smiling face. He looked so happy and full of light. You couldn’t dare to bring him down from his high. He was worthy of so much more, someone who wasn’t empty. Surely he could see that.
“As much as I’d love to talk your lovely hands, I’d rather talk to that face of yours.”
“Hen-“ Your voice cracked from not being used in so long.
“Please,” He begged.
Every inch of your body quaked, the inevitable was here. He would see you, see how broken and lost you were, and wouldn’t be able to take it. The expiration date for your time together was today.
“Please, sweetheart.” He tried again, his voice no louder than a whisper.
You shook your head in silent agreement to his plea. Trembling, your hands pealed away from your face and finally you saw your boyfriend’s face fully. Messy curls were strewn across his forehead and there was an inkling of stubble making an appearance on his face. His eyes were bright and warm as always. You could just barely make out the brown amongst the blue at the top of his left eye.
“There you are,” Henry murmured, his voice dropping an octave.
“Hen-“
“Shhhh... I know it’s not Friday but I wanted to see you. Ariel was worried. I was worried.”
“I’m so sorry-” You started as you felt tears beginning to form in the corners of your eyes.
“There’s nothing to be sorry about, love. I’m happy to see your face. I would ask how you are, but I think I know. Have you been taking your meds?”
“I don’t remember. All I know my stomach is a bit upset,” you whispered as the first hot tears rolled down your cheeks.
“I’d reckon it’s been a few days then,” Henry sighed, ”Do you think could get up and make some green tea? That’s always helped in the past.”
You groaned, flopping backwards onto your bed. A few moments pass by in silence as you weighed your options.
“I can try.”
“That’s all I’m asking for, sweetheart,” admitted the blue eyed man,” How about you bring me with you?”
You nodded slowly. Henry was always good at reading you. It seemed that regardless of the distance between the two of you and the blurriness of the camera, his skill hadn’t waned. He knew you so well and right now you were thankful for that. There was so much you couldn’t say right now, you didn’t have the energy nor the clarity to do so.
Stretching your arms above your head, you winced at the stiffness in them. You had to do this, you had to fight that little voice in your head. You carefully moved yourself to the edge the bed. Taking a much needed deep breath, you forced your aching body to sit up. Gently, after a few moments, you maneuvered yourself to stand on your feet.
You glanced over at your computer screen and saw nothing but pride and encouragement in his blue eyes. It gave you the required push to grab your laptop and make your way towards the kitchen, tired body be damned. Normally, you feel safe and content in the silence with him. The freezing emptiness that had made it’s home amongst your bones and mortal flesh flourished in it.
“How’s filming going?” You croaked.
Henry was quick to fill the crushing silence “Remember that scene I mentioned to you last time…” His hearty timbre warming the outermost parts of your mind. Puttering around the kitchen, you put the kettle on and grabbed your favorite mug while listening. He could be speaking about blue-footed boobies and you would still be rapt.
Sooner than you would of liked, the kettle sung it’s annoying little tune. Carefully, you snatched it off the stove and poured into the waiting mug. You dropped the teabag in and leaned up against the counter. Glancing over at the computer, you saw Henry watching you with a smile on his face.
“Good job, sweetheart,” Henry beamed.
You tried to blink away the tears that remained in your eyes. “I boiled water. Nothing too special about that.”
“You know what I mean.”
Shakily setting the down the mug, you forced yourself to take some deep breaths, but it does nothing to stop the onslaught of tears. They blazed in hot trails down your cheeks.
“My brain doesn’t work, Hen. The fog sets in and it’s like I can’t do the simplest tasks. I can’t even just go through the motions,” You sobbed
“Oh, darling,” his voice barely a whisper and your gaze remained on the floor, arms wrapped around your quaking form.
“Nothing’s working…. I’m so tired of feeling like this. I don’t even feel alive anymore. Just empty and cold all the time.”
Silence fell over the two of you once again; only being pierced by your shuddering breaths as you tried regain control. It took a few moments to calm yourself. You brushed away the remaining tears and finally glance up at him.
“I’m sorry,” You murmured.
“Sweetheart, you don’t need to apologize. I know you’re struggling. I’m worried about you being all alone right now with everything that’s going on,” Henry admitted,” How about you ask Ariel to come stay with you? Just until I finish filming.”
“I…I can do that.”
“I want you to know you don’t have to stick to our schedule. I know you like the consistency it brings, but I don’t mind if you call other times, love. I’d be happy to hear your voice more often.”
Nodding your head, you grabbed your abandoned tea and took a sip. “I love you, Henry.”
“I love you too. We’re in this together, us against the problem.”
Somehow his words seemed to pierce at the remaining chill in your body. He was exactly what you needed, your lighthouse in the storm. No matter how far apart you may be, you’ll always find your way back to his loving embrace.

Simon gets called out at the beginning of class to go on a secret mission for the Mage, and even though it has happened before, it seems to irritate me more today. Why does Simon keep allowing the Mage to use him as his pawn?
He is more than a bomb that the Mage can point at one of his many enemies and allow to go off. He’s a person, a boy, and he doesn’t deserve to be treated like this, like he’s expendable. I don’t understand how I am the only one who sees this. Surely, even Penny would be wary of this. But I guess no one is willing to go up against the Mage like that. (Except maybe Fiona.)
One of these days, he is going to get himself killed, and I will not sit idly by and watch that happen. I have to make Simon see that he’s being used, that he doesn’t have to keep doing this. As soon as this class lets out, I take off in search of Simon. Maybe if I’m lucky, I’ll be able to catch up with him before he gets too far away.
He isn’t in our room, but his scent is strong here, which means he was here not long ago. I rush over to the window and look out of it over the grounds to see if I can see him walking away, but he isn’t there. I’ll have to cast a spell then.
It works instantly, and I can feel Simon. He’s close. The spell starts to pull me towards him, and I take off out of our room, practically flying down the steps. I’m not sure my feet even touch the ground, but I don’t have time to stop and think about that because I have to reach Simon before it’s too late.
The spell is leading me towards the gates. I’m not sure how I’ll be able to get through with one of the Mage’s gates standing guard, but I will do whatever it takes, including spelling the idiot out of my way if I have to.
I don’t have to worry about that, though, because there’s no one there.
That’s strange, I think. There has been someone standing there every day since eighth year began, so something must have happened if the station has been abandoned.
I slow as I reach the gates to open them, and I take a moment to recast the spell to strengthen. It feels like I’m close to him, but it doesn’t feel like Simon has moved any farther away since I initially cast the spell. If there was a threat this close to the school, you would think that the Mage would have raised some kind of alarm, but he doesn’t even have anyone at the gate. It just goes to show how terrible he is at his job.
I continue to follow the pull of the spell, and it brings me to the road, then across it, then to the woods on the other side.
I can hear some sort of commotion now, and I pick up my pace. I have to help Simon. He probably won’t want it, but that’s too bad. I would die a thousand times over in order to protect him. I will not let him die if there is any way that I can prevent it.
When I reach Simon, there is no sign of the Mage of any of his men. It appears like they abandoned him here to handle this threat on his own. It’s unbelievable.
Simon is being surrounded by dozens of goblins, all of whom are vying for his head. He is doing his best to fight them off with his sword, but it isn’t enough. He’s fighting a losing battle.
One of the goblins has managed to get behind him and has a knife raised over him, ready to attack. Before I even have time to think about it, I have summoned a ball of fire in my hand, and I send it soaring in the goblin’s direction. It makes a contact, and with nothing more than a shriek, the goblin catches fire then disintegrates into ash.
Simon spins around to see what happened, and he’s understandably shocked to see me. “Baz?”
“Watch out!” I shout, rushing forward to cast a spell at a goblin that lunged at Simon as soon as he turned his back.
I keep casting spells and sending fire at the remaining goblins, and once Simon recovers from his shock, he turns to fight with me, swinging his sword wildly about, beheading one gobbling after another. He’s brilliant at it, and I almost wish I could stop and watch him in action.
We fight side by side, killing goblin after goblin, but our efforts seem futile because the goblins just keep coming at us, spilling through the trees on all sides, forcing Simon and I to stand back to back. It doesn’t look like we’re going to make it out of here alive, but we can’t give up.
One of the goblins manages to knock my wand from my hand, and I curse under my breath. I can summon my fire without it, but as the goblins close in on us and I start to grow tired from so much use of magic, I’m not sure how longer I can keep doing it.
The goblins manage to get a few good hits and cuts on us, and the smell of Simon’s blood forces my fangs to push through my gums. I could bite them, but goblins are foul and bitter tasting beings. Plus, it would leave me open to attacks from the others if I got distracted by one of them.
“You should go,” I hear Simon say behind me.
“What?”
“You’re stronger than I am. You’ll be able to make it out of here alive. Just go!”
“I’m not leaving you here! You will never be able to defeat them all on your own.”
He’s quite for a moment, and I hear a demon cry out as Simon stabs at the same time that I shoot some more fire at the ones in front of me. It’s getting harder to summon it; my magic is starting to run low. But I won’t run. I won’t leave Simon behind. I could never live with myself if I left him here to die.
“We just have to keep fighting. Someone will come help us eventually.” I don’t even believe it as I say it.
“Who? No one even knows we’re here.”
“What?! I thought the Mage sent you here.”
“He did, but he said that he had a more pressing matter to attend to. There were only a few goblins at the time, and this is my responsibility. It’s me they’re after. Which is why you should go. It’s not you they want. They’ll probably just let you leave.”
If I make it out of this alive, I am going to murder the Mage.
“I’m not leaving you!” I repeat. I look around for my wand, but I don’t see it. The next flame I summon is barely more than an ember, and it only injures the goblin in front of me, rather than killing it.
“I’m sorry, Baz!” Simon shouts, and the tone in his voice worries me.
“Why are you sorry?” I shout back, whirling around to see what he’s about to do.
That’s when everything goes black.
***
When I come to, all I see is trees.
With a groan, I force myself to sit up. There is a pounding in my head, but most of my other injuries have already started to heal. I look around and am relieved to find that Simon is lying beside,
“What happened?” I asked. “The last thing I remember is you apologizing.”
“I went off,” he says, grimacing like he hates to admit it. “I tried not to because I was worried that you would get hurt. That wouldn’t have been a problem if you had run like I told you.”
“I couldn’t leave you there!” I say, angry because he actually believes that I could just abandon him like that.
“Why not?”
“Because I--.” I cut myself off before I can finish that sentence.
“You…what?”
“Nothing. I just didn’t want you to die, alright?” I look away, but then a thought occurs to me. “Why did you care whether or not you hurt me?”
“If you died because of me, I would have a lot worse problems than a horde of goblins attacking me,” he says, but the blush on his face tells a different story.
He’s right, though. If I had died, Simon would have instantly moved to the top of Fiona’s list, right above the Mage, who is coincidentally now at the top of my own list.
“Look,” Simon says, “none of this matters. We made it out alive. Now, we can go back to trying to kill each other instead of nearly getting killed by other things.”
“I don’t want to kill you,” I mutter under my breath as I push myself to my feet, but somehow, Simon hears me.
“What?”
“It’s nothing.” I start to walk away from him, back in the direction of Watford, but Simon stops me by grabbing my arm and pulling me around to face him.
“Baz…. Why did you come out here? Why did you try to help me fight the goblins when you could have let them kill me and been rid of me for good?”
“Because I don’t want you to die,” I hiss. “I actually care about whether you live or not. Unlike the Mage.”
He makes a face at that last remark but apparently decides to ignore it for now.
We’re standing barely a foot apart, and his hand is still on my arm. I could turn and run from him, but instead, I allow him to pull me closer. Because I’m weak.
“For what it’s worth, I don’t want you to die either.”
My breath catches, and my heart skips a beat. I know that it doesn’t necessarily mean that he likes me, but it’s progress. It’s better than him hating me.
He gives my arm another tug, and we’re so close now that I have to tilt my head down to look at him. He brings a hand up to rest gently on my cheek, and I can’t help the sigh that escapes me at his touch. I lean down until our noses brush but stop there, meeting his eyes. The world seems to have disappeared around us, and it’s just him and me.
Whatever happens next could change things forever. I just wish I knew what he was thinking.
“Can I kiss you?” He asks, and then I know exactly what he’s thinking.
“Yes,” I breathe.
Then he kisses me.
It’s soft yet passionate, fast but gentle. His lips part around mine in a sigh, and it is the best thing that I have felt. I feel like I’m flying for the second time today, and I wonder at how Simon can make me feel like this. Like nothing else in the world matters, which feels so true.
I love Simon. He is the most important thing in my life, and I will never let anything bad happen to him for as long as I can help it. I will keep loving him and protecting him until the day I die.
