Thinking about Max. Thinking about how he says he knows he'll have peaked in high school, that there's nothing for him afterwards. We get a tiny glimpse of his home life, an insight into why he's like this. It does all make sense, that if he's been raised to behave this way, and he thinks he needs to make the most of these years, that he'd be so goddamn wretched.
Max is such a good character, such a terrible person, but I can't help but feel something for the guy who believed with all his heart that he'd have no future as an adult, to the point that he's perfectly happy, dead, as a ghost, in stasis. He says it, he doesn't even care that he's dead. He's free in a way he wasn't before. It's a nice twist. He's still the angry, vengeful ghost, as we'd expect from the trope. But he's also so joyous. He plays. He jokes. He gets to stay in his peak.

Listen, as much as I would ship Izzy with everyone, I’m glad he’s single. I’m glad to see him grow as a person, alone, exploring himself and his queerness. Growing. Healing. Developing into a better person. I’d like to see more of that.

What I really love about the characterization of Do-ha (especially the past version) in Moon in the Day is that he's very deliberate. He isn't making rash decisions, he very carefully considers what's he's going to do before he does it and then he reacts from there. He even talks very slowly, as if he's considering each word before he says it.
It's different because we often see characters, I think especially men, do things on instinct or very quickly without much thought (to clarify here, Do-ha does react quickly but only when he's already made a decision. He makes decisions slowly, sometimes over several days). I think we are meant to see quick as equal to intelligent in TV shows, even though that's not always true.
It's also great because he makes the most insane decisions and he made them on purpose, with careful consideration. Insane decisions like keeping Han Ri-ta as a servant fully knowing who and what she is, leaving a knife out while sleeping in a cave beside an assassin, and freeing Ri-ta from his father's house even if it meant fighting their way out. We see that he stayed up that night and figured out who Han Ri-ta was and then still offered her to live in the morning.
The only time he really makes a rash decision is right at the end, after Ri-ta kills his adoptive father, and that's because he is forced to do something immediately. And he gets mad at her about that, probably because he didn't have time to consider what they could do. It's likely, given his character, that the reason he hasn't killed his father yet is because he couldn't see a way to plan out the murder that would have them both end up alive.

Children of Time Rant
Tldr: Read Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky, it's very good. Also sentient spiders have five names apparently, and there are personalities associated with said names.
Just read through Children of Time (by Adrian Tchaikovsky), started reading Children of Memory, and promptly realised it was the third book and not the second. So now I'm waiting for Children of Ruin (book 2) to arrive on Amazon. Did I start CoT about three days ago? Yes. But I need more spider content. Gimme the spider-Human interactions.
I love how we get five names for those spiders, and one is only used once, but I still remember it because we get five names and they are: Portia (always our PoV), Bianca (always Portia's friend), Fabian (male), Viola (important side character), and Osric. Osric is mentioned once and it is to tell us that he died.
But like I love how we get around 2000 years worth of spiders and still we have four names in use. Going into the characters (traits associated with names) in more depth: (oh and when I refer to anything relating to gender, the Portiids basically have "reverse sexism:biology edition")
They're always powerful and always smart, the leaders of their society. Fabian is often very outspoken for a male, and he's smart, often a pioneer of technology, which is notable because---again---he's male. Bianca and Portia sometimes switch up, but they swap between scientist and warrior, and are close friends. Fabian is often one of their assistants. Viola is always a high-ranking spider, influential, but a side character. These are basically just their roles and not personalities because those do flip-flop.
Anyways, little rant over. Read the book(s). They're good. Or at least the first one, haven't read the second yet.

What are your opinions on Hopper's letter at the end of S3? For me this was the moment I realized they were going with Byler.
i think more than anything it’s very telling that mike looks back at the byers house, especially as all the other kids are already biking away and the camera zooms in on him. they could have so easily had him go home and see eggos or something that made it clear that he was thinking of el but they didnt. they wanted us to know he was thinking of will.
and to have that scene of him looking back at the house right as hopper says hes afraid of change? and then jump cut to will (again, so easily could have been el instead). and the scene of mike hugging his mom. i think all this definitely means he’s confused and scared of finding out who he is without el or will.
when i started s4 i went into it thinking mike didnt know he was queer and would figure it out this season but the second he didnt hug will at the airport i realized he DOES know hes just suppressing it so bad.
im not sure his hug with his mom in s3 is the moment he figures it out like a lot of people believe, but i do think he was really confused as to why he couldnt tell el he loves her back. and i think he figured it out when he was away from both of them and realized the way he missed will was the way he believed he was supposed to miss el.

By the way, I am still thinking about the Greater Boston Season 4 finale, and I am obsessed with the idea that when you have days where you wake feeling strange and unsettled without any identifiable cause, it might be because someone who you never met but who would have narrated you kindly has passed on out of the world.
