This is a possibility, that is just hitting me and part of me feels like this is in too much bad faith to even consider but it also makes sense in a way i cant get out of my head.

That Izzy's death was basically the writers' way of dealing with Ed's lack of accountability and growth this season.

That what they mean by Ed can let go of Blackbeard now is that the crew/audience can let go of the things Ed did as Blackbeard/Kraken and move on now because the Blackbeard part of Ed has died with Izzy. There will be no further reflection of this. Ed gets to walk away from that now and find peace and we, the audience don't get to question what happened to all the issues he was dealing with.

Izzy is Ed's version of Frenchie's box in the flesh and apparently the message of this season is lock it in the box and move on.

Ed's lack of growth and the point of Izzy's death were never two different problems. It was the cause-effect of the same problem.

just finished Planet Of Fire part 2 and although I'm not as hopelessly sad at being close running out of turlough and 5 episodes as I was with 2, jamie and zoe it's started to hit me how I actually adore these characters and don't want to say goodbye to them. I'm not ready.

I mean, I saw Resurrection Of The Daleks earlier this afternoon and now I'm just spending the whole time watching peri in this serial going "pathetic. hopeless. tegan would never. #notmycompanion" because tegan is absolutely iconic and she's been there since goddamn Logopolis in season 18 and it's just plain weird not having her around anymore. Sorry peri but you haven't immediately caught my attention like tegan did

agghhh classic who really hitting you with the anticipation of having to say goodbye because you know what's coming next. With nuwho you don't know what's coming which is good for some other reasons but omfg the anticipation of knowing exactly when and how a companion departs from fandom osmosis and just watching you edge closer and closer and love the character more and more omfg it's PAIN and I'd never have it any other way.

Like when I was watching season 19 and the amazing shit like adric spend the whole dance just getting food in Black Orchid. And I was just like "omg just like me fr iconic i love it". And then it hit me that he's going to be blown up in a few episodes. He's going to fucking die.

Let it be known I did NOT make Valin with love when I was creating a Warlock for myself. I'd made it to the Farm twice with two other attempted Warlocks but the vibes were off, so I decided to try a new beast entirely and made a Valin. He was originally going to have black hair and patternations but I found it too boring...

The red was garish and I wasn't too sure I liked what I had made but I decided to commit to that horrible beast and he has since grown on me like a fungus.

The depth you took this wonderful show to in contrast to the first season- dear god, I am deeply obsessed. We went from soft and lovely but still kinda just subtext- to THIS. Season two. I’m afraid I am a bit fixated on the ending with Crowley and Aziraphale, it’s gonna take me a bit to acknowledge separately how amazing season two is as a whole (aloud, that is) but that ending. Good lord. Obviously, like everyone else, I was sitting there trying to will Aziraphale to *not* do what he was about to do, but I’m so happy it didn’t end like that. Even as I sat there willing it, I knew what only made sense, his hesitation didn’t fool anyone. It was amazingly painful, and so perfect for them. You, sir, delivered.
