Scarlet

Boy, oh boy, do I love her, Scar shit my beloved. I wanted to make her purple because purple is often associated with the rich and royalty. Funfact! Back in ye olden days, purple was a very expensive and rare color to get with pretty much anything, so the rich and royals often wore it, giving it its regal representation in the present day. Also, I gave Scarlet's horns stripes because I was going for a jester vibe. Might seem odd, but she's such an intelligent villain, yet her rage, selfishness, and greed blinded her, in the end making her the fool.

Canyon

I really enjoyed reading Tailwind's writing about their egotistical brother. Canyon, to me, is a diva, and I'd love to talk more about him. Those glasses? Doesn't need them. He believes they're fashionable, along with his robes and cloths. The only thing I put into his design that has meaning is his mistletoe, since it represents love and romance, and Canyon is a slut like that /heavy j. He's a hopeless romantic to me and loves his big wife. Although it's implied he married Scarlet to just to brag about it, or that's atleats what I interpreted last I read it, I like to think he actually did love Scarlet and would surprise her with new prisoners for the champions to battle before Peril. It's a shame he died before Peril was born. Imagine the Peril having TWO manipulative and evil caretakers. Orange represents arrogance and impatience, so boom, orange Canyon. Also the the stereotypical Canyon is orange, so it fits in that way as well. Note that I just remembered hours after typing this. This is future felix here to say: I based Canyons design slightly off the canyon wren.

Tourmaline

TOURMALINE!!!! MY GIRL!!! MY BADDIE!! I love Tourmaline and her confidence so much. It shows how strong she was when she realized she was not the dragon who she'd been for 7 years because of an enchantment, as soon as she figured it out she came to terms and did not have an existential crisis, or atleats not around Peril. ( Or Tui didn't really think about how much that would fuck up a person lol ). Nothing in her design has symbolism that I purposefully put in. She's orange like her father and has curved horns like her mother. She also has Canyon's face shape with somewhat of Scarlets nose Bridge and nose. Scars from training combat.

Vermillion

omg this gay ass mother fucker. I fucking hate him /heavy j. Anyways, Vermillion is interesting to me, I guess. I haven't really looked deep into his character other than what's on the surface, a victim of being a child of Scarlet and under her rule. To me, he is very fashionable, including his gold band of amazonite. Not only does baby blue look good on him, but it symbolizes empowerment, which he has. And I ship Cherrylime ( Chameleon x Vermillionv) as well as Vermillion x Chameleon x Mastermind.

Ruby

Heh, get a load of this guy /ref. Anyways, for a hc, enchanted dragons' irises turn a certain color, skywings being pink, which is why Ruby and Pyrites eyes are pink. I gave her harlequin diamond patterns since they symbolize the gap between two metaphoric worlds and the forced silence by others. The first part is that she is two dragons in one and that she is quiet. Although she has the ability to speak up, the power hanging over her head like a guillotine stops her.

Cliff

he's literally just a guy. Though I did add one thing "evil" to him; I gave him Scarlet's eyes. Even though that horror is long gone, anytime Ruby looks her son in the eyes, Scarlet will be staring back at her. But in canon, I don't think she will ever see it that way unless Cliff's personality begins to develop in a negative way, then shed begin to worry and see the illusion resulting from her anxiety. I gave him bits of orange from the reccesive genes she carried from Canyon and from Cliff's father, who I hc to be orange. Also, to symbolize his optimism.

Peril

In the books, she's described as bronze, which i feel is such a loss when her book cover and gn design is a hot cheeto. ( No hate to her Canon design. It looks really cool imo, i just miss bronze Peril. ) The point of her being bronze was supposed to be the fact that she's so different from her tribe other than the obvious. Brown Peril ftw!! She does have stripes of reds, oranges, and greens on her legs and tail, but that's not visible in her headshot, unfortunately. Wanted to throw in Chameleon's genes in there for funzies. Ik in canon Soar is physically a completely different dragon with different genetic makeup, but I think it's more fun to do this, and it's not like I'm hurting anyone lol ( I say this because when I first posted my Peril design I got a on hate for "shitting one canon." Which like ???? Go touch grass instead of telling me I can't be creative. ) ( Here's my 1st post of my Peril design, and then my 2nd slightly tweaked one. )

Sky

I hate how the Fandom treats sky honestly. It's a shame they just dumb him down to "cinnamon roll baby." That's a full adult dragon. Stop acting like he's a child just because he grew up outside of Dragon culture and civilization. Made him pink n brown and gave him a little swirly scale on his cheekbone. Or well above his cheekbone, actually.

Pyrite

I put a bunch of details that yells, "Hey, this is secretly an icewing." Like her spikey scale patterns, antler like horns, and deep colored eyes. Enchanted icewings have red eyes, so I just made them a deep maroon Ish pink, thats why it's not a shade of pink like Ruby's. I have a post planned in my brain, not even in my drafts yet, so it might be a bit, but it's about Hailstorm n Pyrite's relationship and how I think Hailstorm would have handled himself afterwards.

There's a chance I'll draw other skywing characters or other characters that surround this bunch, like Hailstorm, Chameleon, Kestrel, Tailwind, and maybe how I imagine Cliff's father But thank you for reading if you read all of this! Greasers as colors and Why

Ponyboy - Grey-Blue - This color has many different areas it’s related to, some things include skepticism, intellect, and even feeling burnt out. I think these all apply to Pony more towards the beginning of the musical. He’s feeling burnt out of Tulsa, like Far Away From Tulsa and Great Expectations. He’s very intelligent and also skeptical of certain things that are happening around him.

Sodapop - Baby Blue - Soda is always happy and caring, positive emotions are very prominent with this color. Baby blue is also associated with being trustworthy and also valuing honesty. I think this is true for Soda when it comes to Sandy, he would have rather had her be honest up front. The color also relates to being emotional, and Soda is very much so an emotional character (need I say more??)

Johnny - Light Purple - Light Purple can be someone who is unifying, and I think Johnny is this character. He’s the one, as Pony says, who keeps the group together by being there. The color is also associated with loyalty and trustworthiness, which explains Johnny perfectly. He’s someone Pony can talk about anything with. It’s also a soft, comforting, and gentle color. All of these characteristics explain Johnny perfectly. He is such a gentle and soft-spoken character, he sees people even if they don’t see him.

Dallas - Deep Red - He’s very strong willed and determined in everything he does, which are major aspects associated with this color. He’s always determined to keep Pony and Johnny safe in whatever circumstances. Strength and even negative emotions can be associated with this color. Dally isn’t a negative person, but he does have some strong negative emotions like anger and he is around many negative habits.

Darry - Forrest Green - This color is associated with many different emotions and things, such as strength, reliability, and resilience. Darry is very much so this character, he tries to stay strong for Soda and Pony at all times, while also trying to do everything around the house. It’s also a color of growth. Throughout the musical we can see how he becomes more understanding of Ponyboy, he supports his writing more and even reads it. He begins to show more love towards both Pony and Soda at the end. He grows a lot throughout the story, and we see that more prominently in the musical.

Two-Bit - Golden Yellow - Energetic, happy, confident, vibrant, and social. Doesn’t this sound exactly like Two-Bit? He is always talking and cracking jokes, he’s messing around with Soda or Ace. He’s in it for the thrill, he is always energetic and doesn’t think twice (or at all) about his jokes. He’s also an extremely loyal character, he is willing to do anything for any of the other characters.

Ace - Royal Purple - This color is a royal color, I think that Ace is such an independent and strong person, she’s definitely the queen of the group. She’s tough and loyal, which are qualities of the color. She’s willing to do anything for Steve, Soda, Two-Bit, or anyone in the gang. She’s also very intelligent, she learns from her past and doesn’t let others get in her way.

Steve - Dark Blue - This color is associated with deep loyalty and connection to those around you. Although Steve isn’t a main character, you can still see what comradery he had with the other members of the gang. He’s fiercely loyal to Ace especially. Dark Blue is a genuine color, and I think Steve is a genuine person. Although he may look tough, I think he’s a genuine softy on the inside.

<slides in> so you how the resident evil protags have like color-coding??? (Like Chris is green and Jill is blue...) What color would you assign Jane?

I love this ask so much, I’ve thought a lot about Jane’s color-coding because I believe it evokes a lot of what her personality is and the symbolism of her character. I fully 100% believe Jane’s color would be maroon. She is so maroon color coded!! Though she does have other colors in the mix as in muted browns and dark purples, but maroon is much more prominent in this case. You can even see her wearing the very color under her S.T.A.R.S uniform, her maroon turtleneck peaking out from under her coveralls, it’s subtle but it’s certainly there (just like her cannibalism lol).

This color represents and symbolizes a lot of Jane’s complex psychology and personality. Here are some key points of significance of her color scheme.

• Maroon- a brownish red/dark reddish purple.

This color symbolizes intensity, ambition, passion, and confidence, a perfect combination for both a Scientist of the Umbrella corporation and the Captain of Bravo squad of the S.T.A.R.S team.

• Psychology- Maroon has an impact on certain emotions and feelings which evokes passion, love, and anger with its intensity and depth. Though it still can create a sense of warmth and comfort, in a way it could even feel nostalgic.

• Positives- Strength, vitality, self-assurance, ambition, and responsibility. All these positive attributes of Jane personality exude from her, the ambitious scientist of vitality and the strong self-assured Captain who embodies responsibility which her team looks up to with empowerment.

• Negatives- However there are certainly flaws to Jane, she is human after all, she isn’t perfect and it’s seen from time to time whether it’s arguing with Wesker on decisions or the arrogance in her own work. Jane is unpredictable, arrogant, and very much opinionated. Perhaps it was the way she was raised, her environment hostile and competitive due to her father’s very high expectations.

• Symbolism- There is a lot of symbolic meaning in the color of maroon, from the color of blood of Jane’s enemies (and her own sacrifice in the events of RE5), the messiness of consumption, just as messy as the pomegranate fruit that not only symbolizes in success and prosperity, of life, death and resurrection. However this fruit is associated with cannibalism and the complexities of love. And that fruit being the color of maroon.

As I said before I had thought a lot of what colors are associated with Jane Miller, and I also love looking deeper into the meanings and significance of colors how they could be associated with certain things!! :3

Awww, I love your design of Aerith Strife. Her hair looks so fluffy ❤️ Can you go into more detail about how you came up with this design, why she wears these clothes and some headcanons about her that you want to share? What is her relationship with Denzel and Marlene? Even though they were older than her, they were probably her only friends. Did they know that she is Sephiroth's daughter? When the whole fiasco happened and Aerith ran away, what was their first reaction?

Oooo, sure! For those of you who haven't seen the sketch I did, here is what I imagine Aerith looking like when she's about 12:

Since she was designed just as much by you guys as she was designed by me, certain things were already figured out for me. I knew she had silver, kinda spikey hair and greenish eyes. Then I decided to give her brownish blonde highlights to make the hair look less grey.

As for her outfit, I wanted her to have a somewhat adventurous and slightly sassy feel (hence her posing with her hip popped out to the side). And for me, nothing screams adventure like a pair of shorts!

Her jacket is based on a jacket that actually own; a green denim jacket with black flowers. I then modified it to be purple to tie into the colours that I think are traditionally associated with her parents. Purple is just a very sefikura colour to me.

As for headcanons for her (or they canons, since she's technically my character?)

She's very strong. Aside from her hair and eyes, her strength is the main give away that her parents are enhanced.

When she was little, she scared easily.

She likes music, especially when mama/papa Cloud plays piano.

Finally, her relationship with Marleen and Denzel. Despite having something like an 8-10 year age gap, the three are pretty close. Anytime Cloud and Tifa would be busy/away, the two would be the ones to babysit her. There are definitely times where the three find themselves in conflict, but no more than any other siblings would have.

They definitely know that Aerith is Sephiroth's child. Keep in mind Cloud was kidnapped by Sephiroth for upwards of a year before he was brought home heavily pregnant. There never was a way to hide the truth from them, so Cloud and Tifa don't. They do explain that they don't want to tell Aerith until she's older though, which the two understand. It would be a lot of pressure on a child to find out too young that you're the daughter of the calamity.

By the time Aerith runs away, Denzel is in his early twenties and has likely moved out to start a life of his own (although he of course maintains a strong relationship with his adoptive family and frequently visits them.) When looking for Aerith, Denzel is one of the first people Cloud and Tifa get in contact with. They're very hopeful that maybe Aerith went to stay with him and that she isn't lost somewhere. Marleen, meanwhile, is still living at home and helps in the search for Aerith (and later Cloud).

Upon hearing that Aerith is missing, the two are incredibly worried for their little sister, thinking that she is lost or kidnapped. This feeling of worry gets even worse when Cloud disappears shortly after Aerith, since by then it's becoming clear that Sephiroth has something to do with things. The two know first hand just how scary and dangerous Sephiroth (or at least his remnants) can be, so they're horribly worried that Aerith is in serious danger!

Ruki Mukami is your average smart guy. He's a man of few words. Talks only when and if necessary. He is more on the analyzing side. He is always observing, calculating. He's someone who you'd find reserved, and even when faced with a challenge, he manages to keep his calm. However, there is more to him underneath the reserved demeanour lies a mystery of pain and hidden objectives

Mysterious, Dominating, Reticent

At a glance, you'd see Him with his hair is styled in a short, dishevelled manner, with a black hue at the roots transitioning to white tips. His eyes are a captivating shade of blue-grey, and he has three black piercings in his right ear. He wears a black web choker on his neck.

You'll find Ruki Mukami sitting in the front row of all his classes. Ready to take on any challenge, prepared to contest anyone he strives to be the best. To be the superior, which is why he is always found to be competent towards Reiji Sakamaki. Being the eldest of his household meant nothing less than excellence all to please his saviour, the one he looks up to the most. Karl Heinz

Ruki mostly spends his time with his brothers. Family sticks together. The love and bond he shares with his found family is special. He makes sure everything is in order. All the needs of his family are being met, and he takes on a leadership and fatherly role for the rest of his brothers. This is shown by how his beorhers respect and take up his advuce and orders. He enjoys cooking and has been seen making meals for his family. He strives to make original dishes. Other than that, as he comes from money, he has all the skills that are expected from a young master. From cooking, table manners to horse riding, he has it all. He is often seen carrying a book around. Although the contents of his books remain unknown but it strikes as something important to him. Something that he associates his past life with.

Ruki has a calm personality, but one where he is harsh with his words. Almost as if he belittles all life forms before him. He's not one to form close relationships with others outside of his brothers.

A man who refuses to open himself to others. A man with strong wits. A man with secrets. What secrets does he carry? What pain lies within him? How heavy are his burdens? And most of all, why are you drawn to a man who seems like the sweetest oblivion you can immerse yourself in? Who knows? All you're certain of is that this crafty vampire has ensnared you in his trap.

But who are you to be displeased by his overprotective affection. After all, you wanted him. You craved him. All he did was make sure you knew your place. Sure, you could rebel against him. You could say no and go against his wishes, but remember. Ruki claims dominion over you. You are his mere livestock. In the face of disobedience, expect consequences—whether they bring pain or pleasure. A while back I came up with a theory for a friend, here it is for you :)

So like I have a theory about the use of colour in JJK but it sounds a bit silly so here goes: throughout the series colour is commonly used to portray what is happening within the world depending on the storyline. Predominantly (and rather coincidentally due to the abilities of a certain halved individual) the colours red, blue, and purple.

Now, blue is used for most of the the story up to the shibuya arc and majority of the Gojos past arc. These parts of the story are kind of the calm before the storm and have a distinctly more relaxed energy to the following parts of the story, therefore leading us to believe blue in this context represents peace. For further details, it’s a darker blue for the first arc and a lighter blue for Gojos past/hidden inventory. This could show that though the first arc is calmer, it still takes on a darker tone and it could also represent the tainting of innocence (the lighter blue of Gojos past is now a darker one, representing his loss and Itadoris loss to come.)

This leads us into the next colour, red. Red is an incredibly strong motif within the shibuya arc and the current rest of what has been animated of the manga. Obviously, it contrasts with blue, and has come to represent chaos and violence (again, very obviously, with all the people being cubed, slaughtered, where you go I go etc etc brainrot brainrot.) within the series. It’s also heavily associated with our main antagonist, Mr malevolent kitchen himself, Sukuna (fire, blood, the whole nine yards). He becomes a much more active antagonist within this arc, so it also rises in use with him.

Aaaaand this leaves us with purple (GRIMACE REFERENCE??? No, actually-) Purple, as explained by our lovely halved acquaintance Gojo, is both of the previous two colours combined (congratulations you just learnt kindergarten level art theory) and therefore represents both of these subjects. I think the next arcs when they are animated will use this colour to signify people coming together (culling games, character returns to help in the fight against Sukuna Ramsey, etc) and the Itadori coming to terms that the world isn’t in black and white, and that there is good in evil and evil in good (I am you, you are me, Adele song plays.)

Do you ever just sit and realize that no one has ever truly known you?

I get this .... feeling. Every year around this time, the back of my brain near my neck, and this deep inner part of my chest kind of hurt. I feel unknown, and it's almost like I'm mourning something.

In a few weeks, I'll get a gift made of a fabric my hands can't bear to touch. A trinket here or there of a show I've openly expressed distaste for. An item in someone else's favorite color. Foods tasting of flavors I know I've told people I don't like.

I can't say any of that, though. That would make me ungrateful.

"It's the thought that counts!" They would yell. And I agree with them. If there were any thought put into it, I would feel thought of. I wouldn't feel guilty, ungrateful, or sad when I open another bag or box of which the contents were designed for someone else.

"At least you got something." ... I would rather I didn't, to be honest. I don't enjoy this game. It's confusing for me and upsetting. If I don't look happy enough with the item picked out for someone else, the people look hurt. But I can't lie very well. I don't control my facial expressions very well, and sometimes I can't speak.

I'm left with a string of thoughts I'd rather not have.

"Did they pick it for someone else, realize they didn't get me anything and recycled it?" .... "Do they hate me? Is that why they do this every year?"

"Do they really not know me? When I tell them something I do or do not like, do they just not listen?"

This sounds bad right? Oh poor autistic girl with all the friends and family who try to cater to her and fail. I guess no one can do anything right.

And I agree.

I hate that I think these things. But I also pick up on things other's don't. Why is it that no one, not a single person, knows me? I don't lack friends and family. You mean to tell me out of all these people, not one single person could have attempted to get me even one item I would enjoy?

I listen when people speak, so I know their interests. I know their hobbies, favorite seasons, color pallets, books, movies, shows, foods, and smells. I also know their dislikes. I know which friend hates a certain smell because of the person they associate it with. I know which family member is allergic to certain fruits or products. I know co-worker's favorite coffee places and their children's names. Hell, I even know their pets' names and some of their parents' names.

Am I just not important? Because honestly how hard is it to remember that I love the colors blue, green, purple, brown, and all variations? How hard would it have been to pick up the blue notebook instead of the orange and red one? Two colors that anyone who's spent even a few minutes with me, would know I don't like.

Am I so mysterious - that after being very up front with people in telling them that strong smells trigger not only my asthma but also headaches - that me not enjoying a bath and bodyworks or a car freshener would be a surprise to anyone?

It will never be about the items. I don't want or need expensive gifts. Honestly I'm ok not getting one at all. And should an acquaintance get me a strongly scented candle, or a pink hat and gloves, I would say it's for sure the thought that counts. I would smile warmly and know that because they haven't spent time with me, they thought of items they would like and hoped I would also like them. That's very sweet.

For people I've spent my entire life with... for those who've had years to get to know me and just choose not to... its hard for me to know that you really just do not care about me at all. And you can't not get me something because you'll look bad to people. So I get to look bad for feeling unseen and unknown.

1. are they associated with a certain color? what color do they wear the most?

Pa'ani: I associate Pa'ani with the brightest magenta. Her hair is often that color, and it's just so bright, bold, and girly. Pa'ani loves colors of all kinds, so she mixes up the colors she wears a lot when she can. Her favorite colors are purple and pink, so they make frequent appearances in her wardrobe, but she wears all the other colors of the rainbow almost just as much. It's probably easier to say the colors she wears the least - She doesn't like blacks, grays, or whites as much because she considers them "boring". They're usually only accents, if she wears them at all.

Aeric: I don't know if I associate Aeric with any specific color. I put him in blues a lot but that's only because blue is my favorite color. Aeric's favorite color is red - specifically a dark red which the internet tells me is actually maroon. He doesn't wear it a lot because 1) it's hard to find clothes that color, and 2) Dorian tells him it's best worn in the autumn. He doesn't otherwise have a lot of strong opinions about colors (he wore the beige pajamas for a while without complaint), so he tends to wear whatever he thinks looks good on him. He knows he doesn't like plaidweave, but that's as far as it goes, lol.

9. favorite food? least favorite? are they a picky eater? do they have any dietary restrictions?

Pa'ani: Her favorite foods are chocolate for sweet and shellfish for savory. She really loved the paella Lucanis made for her. Also, she often craves Rivaini-Dalish food because they're so nostalgic for her, which I've based on Filipino food in my fic. She's not a picky eater; while she doesn't like beets or radishes, she'll still eat them if they're in something someone made for her. And she doesn't have any food allergies, but is a bit lactose intolerant. Doesn't stop her from eating dairy, though.

Aeric: Honey is Aeric's absolute favorite food, and the only sweet thing he likes. Even then, if a food is made with honey but isn't a primary flavor, he probably won't like it. It's that subtle, distinctive honey taste that he loves, so if he doesn't get those notes, he'll think it's a waste of honey. His least favorite foods are cake, mostly because it's always way too sweet, and chocolate (though he likes it if it's in a mole sauce or something savory). If it's savory foods, Aeric will eat and enjoy most things if they taste good. He usually doesn't complain if he doesn't like something, but will be very honest (as in most things) if asked. He doesn't have any dietary restrictions but doesn't drink alcohol and therefore cannot hold his liquor, lol.

11. what do they have in common with you? how are they different? would you get along with them?

Pa'ani: Pa'ani and I are both silly people who love to make people smile and laugh. Neither of us like being told what to do, and will speak up (loudly) when we think something isn't right. We both also like animals, colorful things, cooking, and singing. And then we both fell in love with dour Hispanic men who love coffee and suffer from insomnia (it's seriously like Lucanis was tailor-made for me... lol). As far as differences, Pa'ani likes getting dirty, and I definitely don't (though I did used to dig for earthworms as a kid, like she did). She's also a lot girlier than I am and a lot more fashion-conscious. I'm actually allergic to shellfish, so I made it one of Pa'ani's favorite foods. And then she has a lot more confidence in herself than I do, but I'm trying. And she's an extrovert, while I am EXTREMELY introverted. I think she and I would be good friends. We share a lot of the same values, and I tend to gravitate toward extroverts so they can carry conversations for me, lol.

Aeric: I think I have less in common with Aeric than I do with Pa'ani, but there are some similarities. We both like cooking/baking and crafting things. Aeric and I often enjoy being alone, and honestly don't know what to do in many social situations. While we're both pretty smart, we make decisions with our hearts more than our heads most of the time. We're both big ol' saps. But we're different in that even though I'm a pretty honest person, Aeric is honest to a fault. I care more about what other people think of me than Aeric does, and don't have the same confidence that he (usually) has in himself. He's also WAY more dexterous than I am; I'm really klutzy. And I can be a chatterbox when I'm around people I'm comfortable with, whereas Aeric doesn't talk much even when he around his favorite people. Despite our differences, I think I'd get along with him. Aeric is an odd duck, but he's a sweetheart and I love people who are weird sweethearts.

21. their favorite place to be?

Aeric: This is gonna be spoilery for my fic, "Flawed Enough", but it's been years since I started it, so I might as well talk about it. (But if you don't want any spoilers, maybe don't read this.) Aeric's favorite place is wherever Dorian is, except in Minrathous. Aeric winds up really not liking it there. So it's pretty unfortunate, because Dorian is almost always in Minrathous. Eventually, Aeric establishes a small farm by a lake where he has always dreamed of settling. That farm winds up being Aeric's favorite place, and a home that he and Dorian happily share (through narrative shenanigans that I can elaborate on if people don't mind major fic spoilers).

31. do they like receiving gifts? giving gifts? what is their ideal gift?

Pa'ani: She loves both giving and receiving gifts. It's enjoyable to know someone was thinking of her and put time and effort into the gift. Then it's likewise a lot of fun for her to look for something that a person will really love and see that something she gave them made them happy. I'm not sure Pa'ani has an "ideal" gift; anything thoughtful and related to her interests will make her happy. She loves handmade gifts especially because she knows there's always a lot more time and effort put into a handmade gift. She also loves receiving new sheet music she can try to play on her viola (bonus points if they knew to get it in alto clef). But she'll also love experiences as much as things. Pa'ani loves exploring and traveling and seeing new things, so she would consider some new experience or personalized outing as a gift too.

erytheia is an air genasi and she herself has light blue skin and stark white hair all over because of albinism, so she mostly wears a combination of neutral whites and blacks with reddish browns and silver! she occasionally wears dark blues or purples as well, but those would mostly be reserved for when she's attending fancy parties and the like :]

5. how do they typically dress? does their wardrobe lean more towards practicality or aesthetics?

erytheia dresses very practical and ready for combat, usually going for light clothes of strong but not too thick fabrics for under her leather armor. especially later when she gets herself a proper chest plate for protection she makes sure the clothes under it breathe through enough, because she's prone to overheating otherwise

these clothes also tend to be her casual wear, since she can't bring a lot with her when the party is traveling around. though when there's a party going on she likes to put on a dress! she doesn't get many opportunities for this so it's always a special occasion, and she loves the compliments she gets for them ^_^

6. how do they wear their hair? do they care a lot how their hair looks?

erytheia wears her hair in braids!! it's incredibly long, reaching all the way down to just below her knees (she's nearly 2m tall), so especially with the amount of combat she gets herself in it's just a lot more practical to keep it in braids and then have them tied up to keep them out of her face. due to her air genasi heritage, her hair seems to almost float around her most of the time :]

she does like the idea of changing up her hairstyle but this would be a several day process because of how long it is. if she were to take out all the braids, her curls would almost resemble a cloud behind her with the way they almost seem to dance around her, especially when she's floating; a lot of her sisters wear their hair like that and she used to do that too when she was younger, but ever since she's been on the road it's always been in braids for practical reasons

10. if they wear jewelry, what kind? do they prefer silver or gold? do they have a favorite gem?

while she doesn't often wear jewelry, erytheia does always love the look of it. she always goes for silver because it looks best on her, and she does always wear her little earrings :] when dressing up all nice for a party she will add many necklaces and rings and bracelets, and she will swap her small earrings for larger dangly earrings too :]

30. do they smell like anything notable?

erytheia smells very sweet!! not in an overwhelming or nauseating way but in a similar way to how you can smell warm pastries outside when passing by a bakery. her clothes always smell very fresh and clean, because she tries to wash them as many times as she can; it's become a little bit of an obsession, but she very quickly gets the feeling that her clothes smell of the dead (she's a cleric) and she NEEDS to wash it out before it drives her insane

Colour Symbolism and Personality

Each colour has certain personality traits based on (mostly western) colour symbolism, and the effects they have on people. This is based on my knowledge of many typology systems, many character analyses, and love of colour theory. It’s mostly made up but I’ve found it VERY helpful for fleshing out/analysing characters and so far it’s accurate for real people too. I'll do another post for the subtypes at some point

You’ll pick three colours to make up the three aspects of personality, which I’ll explain after.

First, the ten colour types

Grey - practical: values efficiency, fears attention, curious, unemotional, logical, may be perfectionistic or socially awkward, combines the knowledge of purple and caution of brown

Brown - stable: values comfort, fears unpredictability, protective, reliable, timid, may be anxious or rigid, combines the subtlety of grey and attentiveness of white

White - pure: values morality, fears emotion, neat, prepared, direct, may be numb or obsessive, combines the good nature of brown and energy of pink

Pink - romantic: values simplicity, fears being overlooked, accepting, playful, energetic, may be immature or attention seeking, combines the candour of white and intensity of red

Red - powerful: values control, fears insignificance, passionate, emotional, ambitious, may be micromanaging or explosive, combines the pride of pink and spontaneity of orange

Orange - enthusiastic: values excitement, fears bitterness, adventurous, friendly, confident, may be arrogant or risk-seeking, combines the assertiveness of red and joy of yellow

Yellow - optimistic: values happiness, fears boredom, creative, persuasive, prudent, may be impatient or deceitful, combines the spontaneity of orange and maturity of green

Green - peaceful: values progress, fears conflict, calm, peacemaker, analytical, may be people pleasing or envious, combines the advocacy of yellow and calm of blue

I don't see any of these as completely rigid or set in stone. It's more about symbolism and vibes than science, so definitely be flexible with how you interpret the colours.

A colour as your core will dictate how you like to live your life. A colour as your aura will dictate how you interact with the world. A colour as your anti will dictate what you struggle with and what traits you associate with stress. See explanations of each colour as different aspects below

Expanding on the ten colour types

Grey core appreciates privacy and protects themself with self sufficiency. Grey aura strives to be useful and wants to appear capable. In crisis grey anti will struggle to appear confident and use helpful systems neurotically.

Brown core appreciates consistency and protects themself with staying relaxed. Brown aura strives to be supportive and wants unwavering trust. In crisis brown anti will become paranoid of deceit and unnecessarily rigid.

White core appreciates strong morals and protects themself by disguising flaws. White aura strives for honestly and wants to improve others. In crisis white anti will become obsessed with purity and detached from emotions.

Pink core appreciates being understood and protects themself by projecting. Pink aura strives to make their emotions known and wants close connections. In crisis pink anti will become emotionally explosive and attention seeking.

Red core appreciates having authority and protects themselves by living for themselves only. Red aura strives for excitement and wants to make an impact. In crisis red anti will rely on adrenaline and micromanage.

👁️ EYE - what colour are their eyes? do people notice their eyes? is there anything special about them (shows emotion easily, literally magical...)? Margin has blue eyes w the scleras being slightly green tinted, aka Octavio but less intense. She also has the purple striped mask which is the main thing people notice. There isn't anything particularly special about them but her irises do turn red when she uses her venom (I don't have a biological explanation for this it just looks cool)

💤 SLEEPING - do they fall asleep easily? what helps them sleep? Margin has a very specific sleep schedule which she retained even after moving to the surface and then to Splatsville so I think she is one of those people who can just like Fall Asleep On Command almost haha. If she is awake after 10pm she gets so tired. I don't rly have an answer for the second question I guess just not being anywhere loud

🎂 BIRTHDAY CAKE - when is their birthday? do they like celebrating it? Margin's birthday is May 9th which is the date I started writing At Sixes and Sevens, I don't think she celebrates it or even tells other people about it though

🥞 PANCAKE - what is their comfort breakfast? She eats plain buttered toast for breakfast every day this is like, a specific character trait she has. Somehow.

🌺 HIBISCUS - do they have any allergies? I don't think she has any particularly strong allergies but I think pretty much any of the octolings who grew up in the domes probably get hayfever simply because their body isn't adjusted to Lots Of Pollen In The Air (and maybe some other things also along that logic)

✏️ PENCIL - is there a particular quote / lyric that you associate with them? I have a lot of songs I associate w her but the Strongest song lyrics is probably just. the first verse of Ready As I'll Ever Be (from Tangled The Series) but specifically before her character development moment

This will sound very cliché but if you make Margin think she is doing the right thing / something fully justified and she feels strongly about it she will gladly throw herself into a dangerous situation over it. 🚆 TRAIN - what is their answer to the trolley problem? I think she would do the trolley hits one person instead of five but also I guess it'd depend who the one person was lol. If it's all misc strangers then goodbye to that one guy

With Emma, the answer might be a little disappointing but it really was a matter of the stereotype of girls liking pink, there isn't really much deeper symbolism there. She just likes pink, just thinks it's neat, though as she got older she wore a bit more purples and was canonically wearing a lavender dress when she died

and the purple there had nothing deeper either she just. thought it was neat

That being said, her having ginger hair like Trost might be the best hit for symbolism since it could symbolize how he was the caretaker she was the closest to and the way they were both connected to the tragedy

and with most of the others, I can really put my tinfoil hat on and draw all the red lines. ... about characters I created.

Ok so Niemand/Tulpen's main color has always been yellow. As the certified main helper character -- wait crap

SORRY ALWAYS FORGET HOW TO SPELL THAT WORD. as the deuteragonist I wanted to make sure he had a bright, hopeful color associated with him and that it was unmistakable. From the very first concept he was supposed to be the one helping MC out of the bad scary place, so it was both important to have a color they could easily pick out in any environment while also not having it clash with my vision of who he is as a character.

And despite everything he is still one of the most innocent and childlike characters in the Void, which I think yellow is a great representation for, just childlike warmth and innocence

Jemand, similarly, is one of those characters I've had in mind from the very get-go so I've had a while to solidify his design and personality

Black-and-white is deeply embedded in the character. Even his spirit, which along with the others' is supposed to look like a cloud, still follows a strict checkered color-scheme and it's a cloud, boi is defying physics for his aesthetic and we should love that for him. We should be jealous, honestly, and feel bad about ourselves to not have that.

But not getting into how great he is and how awful we are, since he can do that himself...

Jemand is one of the only characters who can, and is the only one who DOES, choose to appear in grayscale. He can make his entire body look like it's showing up through a black and white filter, and while I don't bring it up often while writing him, he usually looks like that unless he's in an environment where that sort of thing would bring on too much confusion for his safety (ex. Earth).

And I think there is a strong symbolic importance to that.

It's important to note that during his performances and concerts, despite remaining in grayscale, Jemand's shows are some of the most dramatic and bombastic explosions of color you'll see. They are over-the-top and beautiful, and he really goes out of his way to make sure they're incredible to any audience.

But there is something deeper to those performances. Anyone close enough to Jemand will have him admit at some point that despite the parties and shows, he feels empty. He not only feels like people only appreciate him if they see something so surface-level, but that's all they CAN do because who he actually is would be so unlikable they'd leave if he showed anything real.

And while that's already complicated, and while it would be understandable since Jemand truly has done some horrific things, these sorts of feelings have been stewing even since Emma was alive. It's something that goes to the core of his character.

But that's another thing the black-and-white can symbolize.. it's technically a form of deception. If there's one thing about Jemand, it's that he constantly lies. He can do so effortlessly and without even thinking about it. He paints a black-and-white view of the world where he's an innocent who can do no wrong and everyone else is the bad guy, and sometimes he lies when there isn't even any need to do so for his own self-preservation. I think the checkered motif can symbolize a blinkered view on behalf of whoever only has his deceptive words to go by.

And while I did want to do this in chronological order, just for Renee I'll break the pattern like she breaks spines, because the black-and-white motif also carries over to her, and for a similar reason.

I mean obviously she's not a shameless liar but she does have an extremely black-and-white sort of way of thinking. "You are a bad person, you are a good person", etc. etc. she thinks in strict dichotomies, no nuance. And while it is very understandable with what she's been through, this "one side or the other" perspective is preventing the recovery of the boys she claims to want. Similarly to Jemand, she'll think of any and every of her own actions in the most charitable light possible, and try to justify any and every abuse to the people she hates.

... I guess I don't need to explain the symbolism of her other main color being red mksaldmd

BUT SHE DOES ALSO HAVE GOLD, she both wears gold jewelry and her office building has some gold highlights inside

Which I think could symbolize her somewhat holy/religious nature, being literally empowered by the spirits of dead humans

Laut's color is purple, and this is typically a color symbolic of royalty and wealth and... well. Laut is the only one who puts any form of emphasis on wealth and even exhibits some forms of classism (and the only reason this DOESN'T make him look like a complete tool is because he doesn't actually know what wealth or an economy even is or anything)

But yes, he is a very pompous uppity "high class" man, who wants to present himself with an air of regal superiority, so purple really suits him

and he wears a purple SUIT hahaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!

while Toddie's bright orange hair is the first thing most people would notice about him, he kind of has the most basic look of everyone of the Void, just dressing in brown sweats and sometimes not even wearing shoes

And while the orange could be said to have symbolic meanings to his character and is technically his "main" color, the brown, to me, holds a lot more to him. It's a color that doesn't match his spirit yet he chooses to wear it.

He deliberately goes without bathing or other forms of hygiene as a form of self-harm. He doesn't want to be friendly, he doesn't want people near him. He wants (or at least thinks he wants) to be repulsive.

But given that orange is a color that has symbolized warm feelings and optimism and happiness, I do think that does hold some truth to who Todd was, and who he could still be even if he's convinced he can't

Amethyst: Her alias as a member of the black moon , ofc after the gemstone. Since all the members are named after ones (canon already having diamond, sapphire, emerald and ruby.)

Now speaking meta; 🤩🤩🤩

The stone's name literally meaning "not intoxicated/drunk". After the belief that the stone protected its owner from drunkenness. Amethyst activates spiritual awareness, opens intuition and enhances psychic abilities. It has strong healing and cleansing powers & encourages sobriety.

Another origin to it in Greek mythology: Amethyst was a young mortal who became the object of wrath of Dionysus after he (by different variations) became intoxicated by wine/ had his affections refused/ was insulted by another mortal; & swore to slay the next mortal to cross his path - creating fierce tigers to carry his wrath. The beautiful young maiden, Amethystos was the mortal. When she cried out to Artemis for help, the girl turned into a white, shimmering crystalline stone to protect her. Dionysus, humbled by her desire/ driven by grief, poured wine in remorse for his actions at the sight of the beautiful statue on the stone, turning it purple. As a result, the Amethyst is often associated with romance, lust and love.

Maid of violets is anofher one she has. More of a supporting title like black lady's "queen of darkness"

Maid for an unmarried woman acting as principal bridesmaid at a wedding. typically of noble birth, attending a queen or princess.

Violets symbolize modesty. According to Greek mythology again, violets were created when one of Artemis' nymphs, was transformed her into one, which in turn led the violet to become a symbol of modesty and devotion as well. (Also connected to the name maria which is what Mia (and ny own name) is driven from 😆💜) they also mean regality, leadership, strength, and grace. imbue the name with an organic spirit, beauty, delicacy, and vibrancy. comes from the Latin word viola, meaning purple.

And another one is "the wallflower" , in universe it's treated in almost derogatory manner, but I find it endearing 🤧 to represent like how she keeps her greatest parts hidden for modesty and knowing her place and not being allowed to grant the greatest parts of herself. And the next question shows this quite literally. Anither quite literally way this is shown is Her hair is almost unnaturally long but she keeps it tied in a way that.shocks everyone so much once she wears it down- even to "how come you don't do it more often?? It's lovely and unbelievable!" but when combed it's drawn like a rose, to symbolize her own true hidden greatness. (And the sad part she's barely being allowed to express it under the current circumstances she initially forces herself to adapt to). That also brings her love to certain things other people's eye wouldn't notice, the unnoticed details. All in all she's very much a person that loves giving of herself and her best qualities naturally when she truly wants and loves , from small acts to those she knows and to her career, it balances with her self value well often. sometimes it does slip onto the people pleasing territory but she has a certain boundary when noticing it does - that's really under a certain condition of not demanding of her to sacrifice what brings her joy, motivation and allows her to feel pleasant just to satisfy the other party's demands(ex. Her first job). Cuz even suggesting that is an ultimatum for her to he done with it. So long as those conditions are met wherever she is at life, she's content tbh 🤧

20. What does your oc’s bedroom/house look like? How does this reflect their personality?

For as small as the apartment she settled for is she loves decorating it around to the smallest details :3 like me she especially loves adding floral & gemstone related things. Then again that makes her a bit of paranoid perfectionist clean-freak. Smallest thing off place and it implies she's having a certain struggle. But like everything I said ahead suggests, if the detail symbolises balance or lack of- then not likely for most to realize the real problem, or even know there is one. 🤧🤧
