People generally assume if someone's lying about themselves they're trying to look better but sometimes they're trying to look worse. They attribute agency to where they had none, add intent to accidents, try to convince everyone that this is something they did instead of something that happened to them.

so, watched ep 1 of the atla live action and uhm, imagine not wanting one of your main characters to depict sexism because you believe it doesn’t read well in Current Times, so instead you double down on the character’s obsession towards leadership in order to give him that extra edge. but in order to make that work u have to make his sister quietly obedient instead of an outspoken leading presence that has the potential to overshadow him. because silencing a female character in order to write out a male character’s story arc of unlearning sexism is obviously a better and less sexist outcome.

I think a lot about the fact that Herobrine as a creepypasta initially was not malicious at all. Like literally he was just some guy who made very specific tunnels, cut leaves off trees and built pyramids in your world, all weird things but really not harmful. Like his worst crime was telling someone on a forum to fuck off when they kept talking about him. But then with time there's been all this additional detail added on like the redstone torches and traps and shrines and he's seemingly gotten more aggressive as an entity within writing and other media. Like he'll actively go out of his way to hinder the player in game or in some depictions irl in some way. All of this is to say I think the more we tried to figure out Herobrine and shit the more we pissed him off a little. Give the man some space I'm sure he's tired of the 12 year olds trying to summon him every other day. Eddie post a TikTok that’s like ‘How my husband greets me when I come home from tour’ and it’s a video of Steve looking at Eddie really confused and then saying “what are you doing here?” and then ‘How my husband looks when his platonic soulmate who he saw last week visits’ and it’s Steve picking Robin up in a hug and spinning her around.

This video gets stitched by Dustin fully calling Eddie out because he was there when Eddie came home from tour a whole five hours before Steve was supposed to pick him up from the airport. Steve’s confusion was because he thought that maybe he forgot to get him or messed up the times (because, you know, head trauma) so Eddie had to find his own ride. Dustin included video of Eddie explaining that he took an early flight to surprise him, “so are you surprised?” and Steve full-body tackling him to the ground in a bear hug and kissing him. Dustin captions it something like, “Don’t call Mom a liar.”

So I named TLP after the book The Little Prince because I went to a French school so we read that book constantly so I thought it would be funny if I made little drawings of TLP Donnie if I had named au after different French books I read as a kid!

It was hard to think of some that were actually French and not just translations lol turns out a lot of the books that I thought were French were really just English books with French translations :P
