Hi! I'm sending this with the full understanding that it's an incredibly intrusive question, so PLEASE don't hesitate to delete / ignore. My wife and I are planning to start trying to conceive....soon. Like in the next few months probably? And I'm trying to grapple with the complexities of using a sperm donor and having a hard time wrapping my head around it. Would genuinely love to benefit from any insight or reflection that you're willing to share~~

congrats to you guys!! wishing you all the best on the ~ttc journey~ (as the forums call it lol). I thought that choosing the donor would feel like a big deal or would be really challenging but I was surprised by how much I didn’t feel stressed or concerned about it when I was actually choosing. my one non-negotiable criteria was I wanted an open ID donor so that my kid has the option of contacting him when he turns 18 — he doesn’t have to, of course, but I thought it would be good for him to be able to make that choice if he wanted to. other than that I really just picked based on vibes. I just liked my donor’s responses and thought he seemed like a smart, interesting person, and i wanted to be able to tell my kid I picked him because I liked XYZ things about him. but it ultimately didn’t matter THAT much to me bc I’m not going to be the one who contacts him later and we probably won’t ever have any kind of relationship to each other, yknow? I’m grateful to my donor for helping me achieve my dream of becoming a parent and I do have moments where i feel a little sad for him, because he helped make this perfect little baby and he doesn’t even know this beautiful kid is out there! maybe he’ll never know if owen doesn’t want to contact him! but that’s ok, that’s what we all signed on for, and I’m glad that people become donors so that this kind of assisted reproduction is possible.

I got an ultrasound done of my forearms (cause I whined to my rheumatologist about how I can't illustrate anymore), and I was REALLY scared they'd find nothing and just call me a faker and a liar, BUT! carpal tunnel in both wrists, baby! apparently my ulnar and median nerves are all big and inflamed.

I think the immunosuppressants will help, though. if I'm understanding things right, they should reduce the inflammation and make it a lot less painful to draw.

Jon and Martin as a couple actually mean the world to me. As an ace person, I hardly ever get to see media that represents asexuality in a way that feels realistic to my experience. Romance is important to me, but it’s always tied in with sex as if they are inseparable. Most ace characters are aroace, and I have literally never come across an ace character in a romantic relationship until Jon and Martin. I think that’s part of the reason they’ve taken over my brain so much in a way no other ship I’ve come across has so intensely. On top of the fact that I love their characters and the TMA universe as a concept like they have lowkey changed my life.

Woo! I'm free!

We're finally done with everything that will happen before the actual hunting trip, we're now going onto the juicy stuff hehe!

I've been loving seeing everyone's theories and reactions to this comic. It means so much that y'all are enjoying this silly little idea that I thought and also my first long form comic. I can only hope you guys continue to read and enjoy where I'm going with this story.

As you can probably see, I changed the formatting and shading style for the comic. The previous one was making me feel really burnt out, and I also wanted to challenge myself a bit by using a more traditional comic format. I hope it's not too jarring. I am more happy with a lot of these pages than I was with the last parts. I see like some of the drawings for those, but percentage wise I am more happy with the results of this part.

(Could also be just because these are more recent but who knows)

As routine, I will be taking the next bit off to rest and plan the next part. See y'all soon:))
