Afterwards more shows came and went. You and Daniel had accumulated the most amount of points. And ended up being surprised with a date that evening.

You were kind of excited as you saw a genuine friend in Daniel and thought it was about time you were honest with someone here in the villa and told him why you were here and who you worked for.

The Electric State is neither bad nor great

Robots vs. Humans is not a new concept. We have been watching this conflict unfold on the big screen for decades now. Netflix has released the latest film to tackle this subject matter with The Electric State. Does it hold up in comparison to other films and television shows of this nature?

Overall, there are better films that portray a similar story. This story only feels that way because it is predictable in a lot of ways. Once we are let on as to what the big secret is, there is not much left to really wow us as it plays out. Now, that doesn't make it a bad movie by definition, but it also does not redefine the genre in any way.

That is what we need at this point to keep the genre elevated. We can't just keep seeing battle sequences and robots realizing humans are not all evil and vice versa. This film tried to showcase this between Keats and Herm. The playful banter was supposed to be like two old friends riffing on each other. While most of the humor for me missed the mark that was the one element that worked.

The other aspect of this film that was good was the relationship between Michelle and Christopher. Especially the human connection between the two. Woody Norman stole the show as Christopher in the more emotional scenes this movie had to offer. Being able to steal scenes in a movie that features Chris Pratt, Giancarlo Esposito, Stanley Tucci, and Millie Bobby Brown is no easy thing to accomplish, but he did. Kudos to that kid for doing that.

Ultimately, what hurts the movie is that the Middle Act drags a little bit. We know where this movie begins and ultimately where it has to go. The in-between stuff is to be poignant and effective. The beginning and the end were, but the middle was all just filler with no emotional weight. The final action sequence was great, as were the emotional beats that transpired within that. There just was not enough substance within the overall message of this film to bridge the gap between what was okay and what was good. Nothing really stands out as great. It's a matter of what else is out there with similar subject matter and how this one pulls it off in comparison.

Overall, this movie likely finds the number one spot on Netflix as it is an easy breezy watch. That's not a bad thing if you want to just unwind and watch something that features a plethora of talent. It is okay to realize that what you are watching is purely for entertainment and offers very little in the way of meaningful conversation. This one definitely won't have people up for hours debating the maturity of the content, but I have also spent 2hrs and 8mins doing way worse.

Kingdom Hearts IV predictions: Radiator Springs/Dinoco Rust-eze Racing Center/Fireball Beach/Thunder Hollow/Thomasville/Florida International Speedway (Cars)

Takes place after Cars 3.

Is visited by Sora, who enters the world as a 2017 Nissan 370Z before visits to Luigi’s Casa Della Tires and Ramone’s House of Body Art end with him modified into a next-gen race car sponsored by Dinoco (with Tex’s blessing) and with Cruz’s number.

It isn’t combat based. Missions include keeping up with McQueen’s top speed by racing down Radiator Springs’ main street, learning how to turn right to go left at Willy’s Butte, driving backwards with Mater, keeping up with Cruz’s top speed on Fireball Beach, avoiding pushy competitors with the Thunder Hollow challengers, and practicing with Cruz at Thomasville, culminating in the Piston Cup race at Florida International Speedway, where the objective is to win against Jackson Storm.

It’s set during Cruz’s first Piston Cup racing season, so McQueen still has Doc’s colors and spends the Florida race as Sora’s crew chief. Also, Ramone wears his “Saludos Amigos” body paint from the epilogue of Cars 3.

As Sora finishes his story, Mater is certainly unhappy with Xehanort’s actions forcing Sora’s hand. “That dad-gum Xehanort,” he says angrily. Extra points if Sora doesn’t get to the part where Xehanort is dead, then Sarge gets in his face and demands him to teach Xehanort a lesson when he gets back in a militaristic manner. “Is that understood,” Sarge yells. Then Sora tries to correct him, but gets cut off and asked again, “Is that understood,” and has to respond, “Sir, yes, sir!”

Of course, during the top speed races, Luigi is the one to signal the race to begin. In the Radiator Springs race, Sora’s top speed is tracked by Sheriff’s speed radar, and on Fireball Beach, it’s via Cruz’s personal assistant, Hamilton.

If you fail the “Turn Right to go Left” mission, Sora goes flying into the bed of cacti, and Mater fishes him out.

I wanted the player character in this world to be Kairi just so Storm can feel the embarrassment of losing to not one, but two “costume girls”.

The Piston Cup race is announced as a 500-lap race, but no game developer is that malicious to force the player to race 500 laps around an oval, so they’d take after the first Cars game and make it twelve laps with the sun slowly lowering throughout the race.

What would they be like with you, I could imagine this is during your teen years,

They’d both be insanely supportive and proud of you of course, they love you to all end of the earth.

Chris especially because he’s always wanted a daughter because every dad wants to have the status of “girl dad” it’s all he ever dreamed of. So when he finally had you with your mum (his ex wife). You couldn’t wipe the smile off his face or the giddiness that was infectious.

When Chris and Alba got together when you were 13 of course you would shy away at first but you were like that with newer people in your life. Because she was going to be apart of your life, you saw the way your dad looked at her, how he was enchanted, the same look he had when he found out he was a girl dad 13 years ago. You knew he found the one.

Alba was nothing but kind and pleasant with you, she knew it would take time for you to get used to having her around but she’d always do it on your terms, it became a thing every 2 weeks at the weekend you’d go on a girls date and get your nails done. Because it’s an “Abla & y/n thing” or at least that’s what your dad called it.

She never expected to you to call her mum, but really you loved to have a maternal figure in your life, you’d expressed it to your uncle Scott that you loved it and that it was nice to now have someone else you could gossip about your girl problems to, but Scott was still the best at it.

When it came to friends and them coming over they were both more than happy to host them, as Chris knew more than Alba your friends were your rocks and they did help you though the tough time of when you were still really unsure of the relationship your dad had, because you felt it was new and a very sudden change that you didn’t cope too well with. Chloe, Ben and Millie were life lines for you too, and to be fair your whole family loved them too.

Looking back, Chris couldn’t be prouder of you, for accepting alba in to the family and into the little unit you and your dad had become after being alone in each others company for so long. It was just you and your dad. But now it was you, your dad and Alba.

plot: a year later you transfer to Gotham after not getting enough game time at Chelsea and you run into Jessie.

warning: angst

You sat on your mattress in your apartment with your hands in your lap as you fiddled with your fingers.

"Are you regretting it?" Sam asked as she sat next to you, Millie at the door leaning on the frame with her arms crossed.

You sniffed and wiped your nose, trying to stop your overthinking "no I know it's better for me” you declared as they both nodded “But I really am going to miss you guys" you admitted and Sam wrapped her arm around you "well if it makes you feel better you're already being forced to see us two more times for me and Mil's weddings" she shrugged.

"Does me moving affect my chance at best man?" you asked Sam who laughed "Oh c'mon you know you had that role in the bag" you laughed, leaning into her embrace.

"You'll do great at Gotham, they've offered you starting eleven and full 90 minute games plus, you've got some friends in the NWSL" Millie shrugged and you looked at her "I wouldn't call her my friend"

"It's been a year y/n/n you both have to talk about it and plus Sinclair loves you so much she'll go behind Jessie's back to help you out." You laughed at your friends very true comment.

"Kristie may have also threatened to hurt any of the Gotham girls if they mistreat you"

"Kristie!"

After that day Niamh volunteered to drive you to the Airport, there was silence. You and Niamh had become less close after Jessie told her what had happened but she soon figured out why you did it after the third match after she left, you had scored a goal and usually you would celebrate with Jessie.

Niamh watched your eyes gloss over when you turned around and remembered that the Canadian was gone. Niamh always stayed in contact with Jessie as the two were peas in a pod.

"does she know?" you asked softly in the car and Niamh nodded "She asked me if it was true and I said yes" Niamh told you and you looked out the window "what uhm- what did she say?"

"Y/n-" "I know" you cut her off "I'm sorry" you apologized, you couldn't dive into their conversations like that.

"She said that she missed you"

You sunk into your seat at your friends' words "Yeah well I miss her too".

You sat in your airplane seat in first class shortly after bidding Niamh goodbye, trying to get comfortable so that you could sleep but your mind was running about Jessie.

You had seen the comments that were left under your post where you had announced your leaving.

You rolled your eyes at the comments and turned off your phone.

You tried to sleep through the flight, waking up every now and then to go to the toilet.

When you finally landed you weren’t expecting anyone to pick you up but when you saw Christine Sinclair with a piece of paper that read your last name with a childish grin on her face you knew one of your friends from London had tipped her off.

You hugged her tightly when you saw her “I missed you y/n/n” she smiled and rubbed your head “I missed you too Chris” you sniffed and she grabbed your shoulders “excited to be in the NWSL?” She asked and you smiled

“A new challenge will be good” you shrugged and you began to walk to her car “Chelsea not doing you justice?”

“They like their new and shiny toys”

Christine smirked as she opened her trunk, you put in your luggage and jumped in the front seat.

“I don’t think I’ve driven you around since I had to pick you up from Jessie’s hotel room in friendlies” she joked and you turned your head.

Christine watched as you looked out the window “she told me what happened” she said and you looked at her “you don’t hate me?” You asked.

“Would I be here if I was”.

She smiled at you to ensure you that she did not in fact have a hatred for you “actually it made me respect you more even though I dealt with a heartbroken Jessie”

“I did what was best for her”

“Was it best for you?”

You shook your head “going to Gotham is best for me” you said and she nodded “I have a small confession to make” Christine said and you furrowed your brows “what?”

“I may have also sent Jessie to your house to help set you up”

You shot up in your seat.

You were not ready to see Jessie right now.

“Christine!”

“I’m sorry but we should just rip off the bandaid, I don’t want your first meeting back to be on the pitch” she defended as you both pulled in to your new house where another car was.

Jessie’s car.

Christine opened her side of the door and walked out to your side, tapping on you window which you rolled down slightly.

“Are you going to get out?”

“No”.

Christine rolled her eyes and unlocked the car door herself opening it and forcibly dragging you out of the car, you hoped Jessie wasn’t looking back.

“Does Jessie know it’s my house?” You asked as you walked to her car “I’m pretty sure it’s best if I don’t tell you that”.

You took a deep breath as you saw Jessie get out of her car “hey you said that-“ she started but stopped when she saw your figure next to her teammate.

“Hey there” you said softly and Jessie stood in her spot next to her car “hey” she muttered.

“Cool let’s go!” Christine clapped her hands together before making her way to your front door as you and Jessie still stood looking at each other.
