What Happens If You Live Too Long on a Reverse Mortgage?
A reverse mortgage can be a lifeline for many seniors, turning home equity into cash without the burden of monthly payments. But what if you live longer than expected? Will you run out of money? Lose your home? Have your heirs been stuck with a mountain of debt?
These are real concerns. No one wants to be in a position where financial security turns into financial stress later in life. Let’s walk through what happens when you outlive your reverse mortgage—and what you can do to stay financially secure for as long as you need.
Can You Outlive a Reverse Mortgage?
No, not in the traditional sense. A reverse mortgage—specifically a Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM)is designed to last as long as you stay home. The loan only comes due when:
You move out permanently (e.g., transition to a nursing home for over 12 months).
You sell the house or no longer use it as your primary residence.
You pass away, at which point the estate or heirs decide what to do with the home.
So, in theory, you can live in your home for decades on a reverse mortgage without being forced out. But there are a few caveats.
What If Your Loan Balance Exceeds Your Home Value?
This is a common worry, but here’s the good news: HECMs are non-recourse loans, meaning neither you nor your heirs will ever owe more than the home is worth. Even if property values drop or you’ve withdrawn every penny of your available equity, the lender can’t demand more than the home's sale price. The FHA insurance covering reverse mortgages ensures that any shortfall is handled.
That said, this does mean that once your loan balance reaches the maximum payout, you won’t have access to additional funds. You'll need a backup plan if you’re relying on those payments for daily expenses.
Can Your Reverse Mortgage Payments Stop?
That depends on the type of payout you chose at the start. Here’s a breakdown:
Lump Sum: You receive all the money at once. If you spend it too quickly, you might be strapped for cash later.
Term Payments: Monthly payments are made for a fixed period. Once that period ends, so are the payments.
Tenure Payments: Monthly payments for as long as you live in the home are the safest option if you’re worried about longevity.
Line of Credit: You withdraw as needed, but they're gone once the funds run out.
You might outlive your funds if you opted for term payments or a lump sum. In contrast, tenure payments ensure you receive income for life, as long as you stay home and meet your obligations (more on that next).
What Could Cause You to Lose the Home?
Reverse mortgages don’t require monthly payments, but financial responsibilities are still tied to the home. The biggest risks of defaulting on your loan include:
Failing to pay property taxes – These must be paid on time.
Skipping homeowners insurance – Lenders require continuous coverage.
Neglecting maintenance – If your home is in disrepair, the lender may intervene.
If you can’t keep up with these expenses, the lender could foreclose on the property—even if you still want to live there. This is where long-term planning becomes crucial.
What Can You Do If You're Running Out of Money?
Let’s say you’re still living comfortably in your home, but you’re realizing that your reverse mortgage funds are drying up. Here are a few options:
Check Your Loan Terms – If you selected tenure payments, you’re lucky—they’ll continue indefinitely. If you went with term payments, it may be time to explore other financial solutions.
Downsize – If maintaining the home is getting expensive, selling and moving to a smaller, more manageable home may make sense.
Apply for Property Tax Deferrals – Some states offer tax relief programs for seniors to ease the financial burden.
Tap Other Retirement Assets – If you have a 401(k), IRA, or savings, now might be the time to consider how to balance withdrawals.
Consider Renting Out a Portion of Your Home – This can provide extra income while allowing you to stay in place.
Thinking ahead is key. You don’t want to reach a point where you’re out of money and options.
What Happens to Your Reverse Mortgage When You Pass Away?
When you’re gone, your heirs have a few choices:
Pay off the loan and keep the home (often by refinancing into a traditional mortgage).
Sell the home to pay off the loan and keep any remaining proceeds.
Walk away—since the loan is non-recourse, the lender simply sells the home, and your heirs aren’t responsible for any shortfall.
If your children or family members want to keep the house, it’s smart to discuss a plan now. That way, they won’t be scrambling to make decisions while dealing with the emotional weight of your passing.
Final Thoughts
A reverse mortgage can provide incredible financial relief in retirement, but it’s not a cure-all. You need to have a strategy in place, just like you would with any long-term financial plan.
If you live longer than expected, your reverse mortgage will still be there—just make sure you’ve chosen the right payout option.
If your home value drops, you or your heirs won’t be on the hook for extra debt.
If you’re worried about running out of money, consider other income sources, downsizing, or financial assistance programs.

Traveling is one of life's greatest joys, but it comes with its own set of risks and uncertainties. Whether you're planning a quick getaway or a long-haul adventure, travel insurance is crucial. While Post Office Travel Insurance is a popular choice for many, you might be curious about other options available. Let's dive into the world of travel insurance alternatives that ensure peace of mind without breaking the bank. - Check Latest Prices - Why Consider Alternatives to Post Office Travel Insurance? While Post Office Travel Insurance offers a wide range of coverage options, exploring alternatives can help you find a policy that better suits your needs. Here are a few reasons why you might consider alternatives: - Diverse Coverage Options: Different insurers offer various coverage plans tailored to specific needs, whether it's for adventure sports, business trips, or family vacations. - Competitive Pricing: Comparing different insurance providers can lead to finding more affordable options or policies that offer better value for money. - Unique Benefits: Some insurers provide unique perks like concierge services, emergency evacuation, or coverage for lost gadgets. Key Features to Look for in Travel Insurance Before diving into specific alternatives, it's essential to understand what to look for in a travel insurance policy. Ensure your policy covers medical emergencies, hospital stays, and repatriation. - Trip Cancellation/Interruption: This covers non-refundable expenses if your trip is canceled or cut short due to unforeseen circumstances. - Baggage and Personal Belongings: Look for coverage against loss, theft, or damage to your luggage and personal items. - Emergency Evacuation: In case of a medical emergency, having coverage for evacuation to the nearest medical facility is vital. - 24/7 Assistance: Access to round-the-clock customer service can be invaluable when you're in a bind. These policies often cover injuries sustained during such activities, which standard travel insurance may exclude. 3. Family Travel Insurance Traveling with family can be both joyous and stressful. Family travel insurance bundles coverage for all family members, often at a discounted rate compared to purchasing individual policies. 4. Business Travel Insurance For frequent business travelers, business travel insurance offers coverage tailored to work-related trips. It often includes benefits like coverage for lost business equipment, trip cancellations, and sometimes even coverage for a replacement colleague to complete a trip. 5. Backpacker Insurance Designed for long-term travelers or those on a gap year, backpacker insurance often covers multiple countries and extended trip durations. It's perfect for those planning to travel across several destinations over an extended period. How to Choose the Best Travel Insurance Selecting the right travel insurance can be daunting, but focusing on your specific needs can simplify the process. Here's a step-by-step guide: - Assess Your Needs: Consider the nature of your trip, your destination, and the activities you'll be doing. This will help determine the type of coverage you need. - Compare Coverage Options: Look at several insurance policies to compare what each covers and excludes. Pay attention to the fine print. - Check Reviews and Ratings: Customer reviews and expert ratings can provide insights into the reliability and reputation of the insurance company. - Consider the Cost: While cost shouldn't be the only factor, it's important to choose a policy that provides good value for money. - Read the Policy Document: Before purchasing, thoroughly read the policy document to understand the terms and conditions. FAQs 1. Do I really need travel insurance for my trip? Absolutely! Travel insurance provides peace of mind by covering unexpected events like medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and lost belongings. 2. Can I buy travel insurance after booking my trip? Yes, you can purchase travel insurance after booking your trip. However, for maximum benefits, such as coverage for pre-existing conditions or trip cancellation, it's best to buy it soon after making travel arrangements. 3. What happens if I need to cancel my trip? If your policy includes trip cancellation coverage, you may be reimbursed for non-refundable travel expenses if you cancel for a covered reason. 4. Does travel insurance cover COVID-19 related issues? Many travel insurance providers now offer coverage for COVID-19 related medical expenses, trip cancellations, and interruptions. Be sure to check the specifics of each policy. 5. Can I extend my travel insurance while abroad? Some insurers allow you to extend your policy while you're abroad, provided you haven't already made a claim. Check with your insurer for specific terms. Conclusion Exploring alternatives to Post Office Travel Insurance can lead you to find the perfect policy tailored to your travel needs. Whether you're an adventurous spirit, a business traveler, or planning a family vacation, there's a travel insurance plan out there for you. Long Island Workers’ Compensation FAQs: What Every Worker Should Know
Hey there! So, you've got questions about Long Island Workers’ Compensation? You're not alone! Navigating the maze of workers' compensation can feel like a daunting task, especially if you're dealing with an injury or illness related to your job. This blog post aims to shed light on the most commonly asked questions about workers’ compensation in Long Island. Whether you're wondering about your eligibility, the types of benefits available, or what to do if your claim is denied, we’ve got you covered. Let’s dive in!
What is Workers’ Compensation?
Workers’ compensation is essentially a safety net for employees who get injured or sick as a direct result of their jobs. This system is designed to provide financial support for medical expenses, lost wages, and other related costs without needing to prove fault. Pretty neat, right?
Workers' compensation laws have been around for quite a while, dating back to the early 20th century. They were established to ensure that workers are taken care of if the unexpected happens. In New York, this system is particularly robust, making sure that workers are protected while also offering employers a level of protection from lawsuits.
Who is Eligible for Workers’ Compensation in Long Island?
Types of Workers Covered
So, who exactly can file for Long Island Workers’ Compensation? Generally, if you’re an employee and get injured on the job, you’re covered. However, if you’re an independent contractor, you might not be eligible for benefits under this system.
Common Industries with Coverage
Certain industries tend to have higher rates of injury and, therefore, more claims. Think construction, manufacturing, healthcare, and transportation. If you work in one of these fields, it's crucial to be informed about your rights under workers’ compensation laws.
What Types of Injuries are Covered?
Physical Injuries
Physical injuries are probably what come to mind first when you think of workers’ comp. This includes everything from slips and falls to more severe accidents involving machinery. If it happens while you're performing your job duties, there's a good chance it's covered.
Occupational Diseases
Did you know that Long Island Workers’ Compensation also covers occupational diseases? These are illnesses that develop over time due to work conditions. For instance, long-term exposure to harmful chemicals can lead to respiratory issues.
Psychological Injuries
Don’t overlook psychological injuries! Stress and trauma from the workplace can also qualify for compensation. This includes conditions like PTSD that arise from workplace incidents.
How to File a Workers’ Compensation Claim in Long Island
Step-by-Step Guide to Filing
Filing a claim doesn’t have to be a nightmare! Here’s a quick step-by-step guide:
Report the Injury: Inform your supervisor immediately.
Seek Medical Attention: Make sure to get checked out, even if you feel fine.
File the Claim: Fill out the necessary forms, typically found on your employer’s website or through your HR department.
Key Documents Needed
Make sure you have all your paperwork in order! Essential documents might include:
Medical records
Incident reports
Wage statements
Common Mistakes to Avoid
A few slip-ups can derail your claim:
Delaying reporting your injury
Not following up on medical appointments
Failing to keep records of communications
What to Expect After Filing a Claim?
Claims Process Overview
Once you file your claim, it gets sent to your employer’s insurance company. They’ll review it and determine whether it's valid.
Timeframes for Approval
The approval process can take time. You might wait anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months to make a decision.
Possible Outcomes of a Claim
Your claim could be accepted, or denied, or you might receive partial approval. Understanding these outcomes can help you prepare for what’s next.
What Benefits Can You Receive?
Medical Benefits
First off, your medical expenses will be covered. This includes doctor visits, surgeries, and any necessary rehabilitation.
Wage Replacement
If you're out of work due to your injury, you’ll receive wage replacement benefits, usually around two-thirds of your regular pay.
Vocational Rehabilitation
What happens if you can’t return to your old job? Workers' compensation may provide vocational rehabilitation to help you transition to a new role.
Death Benefits
In tragic cases where a worker dies due to a workplace injury, death benefits are available to the dependents of the deceased.
What if Your Claim is Denied?
Common Reasons for Denial
Unfortunately, claims can be denied. Common reasons include:
Insufficient medical evidence
Late filing
Lack of notice to the employer
How to Appeal a Denied Claim
If your claim gets denied, don’t panic! You can appeal the decision by gathering more evidence and submitting it for review.
Legal Assistance and Representation
If you're facing challenges, it might be wise to consult a workers’ compensation attorney who can guide you through the process.
Frequently Asked Questions About Long Island Workers’ Compensation
Can You Choose Your Doctor?
In many cases, you have to see a doctor from a list provided by your employer’s insurance company. However, under certain conditions, you may have the right to choose your doctor.
What If the Injury Occurred at Home?
This can get tricky! If you’re working from home and get injured, it might still be covered, but it often depends on the circumstances.
How Does a Pre-existing Condition Affect Your Claim?
Pre-existing conditions can complicate matters, but they don’t automatically disqualify you from receiving benefits. It all comes down to whether the injury was aggravated by your work.
Can You Sue Your Employer?
Typically, no. Workers’ compensation is a no-fault system, meaning you usually can’t sue your employer if you’re receiving benefits. However, there are exceptions, particularly in cases of gross negligence.
Importance of Hiring a Workers’ Compensation Attorney
Benefits of Legal Representation
Hiring a workers' comp attorney can be a game-changer. They understand the intricacies of the law and can help you navigate the claims process effectively.
When to Seek Legal Help
If your claim is complex, or denied, or if you're experiencing pushback from your employer’s insurance, it’s time to call in a pro!
Conclusion
Navigating Long Island Workers’ Compensation can seem overwhelming, but knowing your rights and benefits is crucial. Whether you’re dealing with an injury, illness, or a denied claim, being informed is your best defense. Remember, you're not alone in this—don't hesitate to reach out for help if you need it. Travel Insurance With Medical Conditions
A Stress-Free Guide to Staying Covered
Learn how to find the right travel insurance with medical conditions for your next trip. Discover top tips, FAQs, and essential considerations for hassle-free coverage. Check UK Providers
Introduction
Planning a trip when you’ve got pre-existing medical conditions can feel daunting, can’t it? From worrying about unexpected medical costs abroad to finding the right coverage, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But don’t sweat it—there’s good news! Travel insurance with medical conditions is designed to give you peace of mind while you focus on enjoying your holiday. Whether you’re jetting off to sunny Spain or exploring the rugged Highlands, the right travel insurance can make all the difference. In this guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about securing travel insurance with medical conditions—no jargon, just simple, actionable advice to keep you covered, stress-free.
Why Do You Need Travel Insurance with Medical Conditions?
Traveling with a medical condition comes with unique risks. Imagine needing emergency treatment abroad without insurance—it could be enough to ruin your holiday and drain your wallet. Here’s why travel insurance with medical conditions is so important: - Peace of Mind: Knowing you’re covered allows you to relax and enjoy your trip. - Medical Emergencies: Covers the cost of treatment, hospital stays, or even medical evacuation if needed. - Medication Replacement: If you lose your prescription medication, insurance can help you replace it. - Cancellation Protection: If your condition flares up and you can’t travel, you won’t lose all your money.
What’s Covered Under Travel Insurance with Medical Conditions?
Not all policies are created equal, so it’s crucial to know what’s typically included: - Emergency Medical Expenses: Covers hospital bills, treatment, and prescribed medication abroad. - Medical Evacuation: If you need to be flown back to the UK for treatment, this is covered. - Trip Cancellation or Curtailment: If your condition worsens before or during your trip, you’ll be reimbursed for non-refundable costs. - Repatriation: In worst-case scenarios, insurance ensures you’re transported back home safely. - Travel Companion Coverage: Some policies extend benefits to your travel buddy if they’re affected by your medical emergency.
Tips for Finding the Right Travel Insurance with Medical Conditions
Shopping for insurance can feel like navigating a maze, but these tips will point you in the right direction: - Be Honest About Your Medical History: It’s tempting to skip over minor conditions, but honesty is key. Withholding information could void your policy. - Look for Specialist Providers: Some insurers specialize in high-risk or pre-existing medical conditions—worth checking out! - Compare Coverage, Not Just Cost: The cheapest policy isn’t always the best. Focus on what’s included rather than cutting corners. - Read the Fine Print: Make sure your specific condition is covered. Some policies exclude particular illnesses or treatments. - Consider Multi-Trip Policies: If you’re a frequent traveler, an annual plan may save you money and hassle. - Check for Age Limits: Some insurers have age caps, so ensure the policy suits your needs.
How to Declare Your Medical Conditions
Filling out the medical questionnaire can feel like a test, but it’s crucial for getting the right coverage. Most insurers will ask about: - Chronic Conditions: Asthma, diabetes, heart disease, etc. - Recent Surgeries: Any operations in the last year or two. - Hospital Stays: Whether you’ve been admitted recently. - Medications: What you’re currently taking and why. - Ongoing Treatments: Physiotherapy, dialysis, or other care. Don’t guess—be accurate. If you’re unsure, consult your GP for clarification.
Common Misconceptions About Travel Insurance with Medical Conditions
Let’s clear up a few myths that could trip you up: - “It’s Too Expensive.” While it can cost more than standard policies, many affordable options exist. Plus, the cost of not having it is far higher. - “I Don’t Need It if I’m Traveling in Europe.” The EHIC/GHIC card doesn’t cover everything—travel insurance fills those gaps. - “My Condition Isn’t Serious Enough to Declare.” Even minor conditions like mild asthma should be disclosed to avoid voiding your policy.
FAQs About Travel Insurance with Medical Conditions
1. Can I get travel insurance if I’ve been recently diagnosed with a condition? Yes, you can. However, some insurers may require a medical screening or additional documentation from your doctor. 2. Will my insurance cover routine check-ups abroad? Typically, no. Travel insurance is for emergencies, not routine or elective treatments. 3. What happens if I don’t declare a medical condition? Failing to disclose a condition could void your policy, leaving you responsible for all costs. 4. Can I get coverage for mental health conditions? Yes, many insurers now include mental health conditions, but you’ll need to declare them during the application process. 5. Are pregnancy-related complications covered? Most policies cover unexpected pregnancy complications but not routine care or travel after a certain term.

May I request a scenario where Levi & y/n are sleeping together. At a dinner someone asks Levi about his love life & he mentions he’s in a relationship. Y/n thinks he’s talking about someone else, so when they’re in private she decides to end whatever is going on between them bc she doesn’t want Levi to cheat. So Levi has to spell it out that he was talking about her. (:
C/n: I like this. I like it a lot. Thanks for requesting and I hope that you enjoy🤍
——————————————————————————
A Secret Love. (Levi x Reader)
Soft lips pampered your neck with kisses as you straddled Levi’s lap. Your hands scratched his undercut, softly moaning at the feeling of his lips, and he moved away from your collarbone to view his artwork.
“You need to buy me more concealer if you’re gonna keep on doing that.” You chuckle and he looks at you. Your flushed cheeks and soft pants made him want to have you then and there. But he had a meeting in a few minutes and he called you in his office for a few seconds of shenanigans.
“Who said I want you to cover it up?” He shoots you a smirk and you roll your eyes. You plant a kiss on his lips and get up from his lap. You go to a mirror and fix your shirt before looking back at him. “Your meeting starts in five. I suggest you go before it starts.” You say and he gets up. “See you later?” He asks before he leaves and you nod.
You would think that you and him were together but that was so not the case. Levi and you had a strict contract about your relationship being only sex. The whole arrangement was just about relieving stress from the corporate business and trying to find some release. At first, everything was fine. Levi would call you to his apartment, spend a few hours there and you would leave. Then you started to stay over. And that turned into just hanging out.
Being his secretary, you always knew where he was and what he was doing. So if he called you into his office, 9 times out of ten, it’s for a quickie. That was it.
Until you started to catch feelings for him.
Each kiss he gave you made your heart jump and the way his hands roamed your body with more sincerity made you fall for him. He genuinely cared about pleasing you, something you weren’t accustom to since most of the jerks you dated last three thrusts and pulled out leaving you unsatisfied and annoyed.
You sat by your desk as Levi went for his meeting, waiting for him to come back. The day was slow and the only thing that he had planned was this big meeting.
Two hours later, Levi comes back to his office with his colleague, Erwin. Erwin was Levi’s childhood friend and now that he was in a similar business position as Levi, they started to see each other at meetings.
“Ms L/n. How lovely to see you again.” Erwin greets and shakes your hand. “Mr Smith. Likewise.” You smile and glance at Levi. “Say, tomorrow night there’s going to be a dinner with many business people. I’m going, Levi’s going and I will love it if you joined.” Erwin says with a smile and you look at Levi. As much as you two had a secret “affair”, he was still your boss. “Uh, I’m going to have to check with my boss first.” You chuckle and Erwin looks at Levi. “Oh, Levi isn’t going to be a pain and not let you come. It’s at the Rose House Restaurant down on Main Street.”
Your eyes widen at the name of it. That was one of the biggest, most expensive restaurants in the city. You would have to book a reservation at least four months prior.
Erwin laughs at your reaction. “I’ll be looking forward to seeing you there, Y/n. See you, Levi.” He waves at Levi. “Later, Eyebrows.” Erwin disappears into the elevator and as soon as it descends you feel lips on your neck and arms around your waist. “If you wanted to go that shitty restaurant, you could’ve just asked.” He mumbles and you giggle. You turn in his arms and he lifts you onto your desk, settling in between your legs. “Do you want to go? Honestly I’m contemplating on going but if you want to, we’ll go.” He whispers and you nod. “If it’s not a problem?” He scoffs and kisses you as his hands start to roam. “You’ll never be a problem.” See, it was things like that that made you fall hopelessly in love with him. It sucked because you knew it wasn’t true.
~~~~
The next night, you checked your dress and make up for the umpteenth time and finally decided that you were ready. A simple long black dress with a slit up until your upper thigh with thin straps that crossed against your back made you look like a million bucks.
Your phone dinged and you saw that Levi was outside. You quickly grabbed your purse, checked your lipstick and left the apartment. You walked down the stairs and Levi’s eyes widened. You saw the change in his demeanor and you bit your lip as you twirled around, making him see everything. “What do you think? Not bad for a last minute.” You chuckle and he presses his lips against your hand, like a prince.
“You..look beautiful, Y/n.” He whispers and you don’t know if it’s the car lights or your imagination, but you thought Levi was blushing. You smiled and he opened the door for you and you jumped in. Levi sat in the drivers seat and buckled up. He started the car and a few moments later, laid a hand on your thigh.
It made your heart skip.
~~~~
The restaurant was as beautiful as you imagined. Maybe even better. Levi caught sight of the table and escorted you to it.
“Levi! You made it! Oh, Y/n. Looking amazing.” Hange exclaimed and you laughed. You weren’t expecting to see her here. “Hange?!” You say and she hugs you. “Surprised? Got back yesterday and decided to spend the day with my husband. Moblit says hi by the way.” You let go of Levi’s arm and sit next to her as Levi sat next to Erwin and his father. There were many other business men and woman there and although you were nervous, they were all lovely to talk to and Hange made you loosen up.
The night progressed from business talk to family to relationships. A very sketchy topic for you since you didn’t like to talk about it. There was one woman who was by Levi the whole night and you really tried not to be jealous. He wasn’t yours. So why did you feel the angry, green dragon of jealousy wash over you?
“Damn if I had you on my arm, I’ll never complain about anything ever again.” The woman slurs as she sipped her wine. Levi’s buttons were undone and everyone was relatively drunk so you were waiting for Levi to say “yeah. So let’s get outta here.” or something. Instead, something worse was said.
“Too bad I’m in a relationship.” He says and drinks the rest of his whiskey. Erwin, Hange and Erwin’s father snapped to him. “What?! With who?! Why didn’t you tell us?!” Erwin and Hange ask him and Erwin’s father pats him on his shoulder.
“What’s she like?” Hange asks and Levi groans. “As if I’d tell you.” His eyes glance to you. “Come on Levi! Tell us one thing, at least.”
Levi puts his glass down and clears his throat. “She’s beautiful. Witty and clever. She puts up with my shit and she’s special. Very special.” He says and Erwin smiles. You put your head down, staring at the liquid in your glass as if it held all the answers to the universe.
Levi was in a relationship? And he didn’t tell you? That means, this entire time, he was cheating. The thought made you sick to your stomach because as much as you loved Levi, you respected his unknown girlfriend as well and she didn’t deserve to know that her boyfriend had been banging his secretary for the past months.
“She sounds great, son.” Erwin’s father say and he nods. “She is.” She must really have made a special mark on his heart if he’s talking so much about her. You bite your lip trying to not cry. It hurt. It hurt like someone has stabbed your a thousand time and then proceeded to rip your heart out.
When it was time to leave, you kissed Hange and Erwin goodbye as waved goodbye to all of the people. Levi draped his coat over your shoulders and you froze. “Can only imagine how cold you must be.” He says and you nod. Weird. You always joked about everything and was so carefree so what was the change?
You and Levi walked to his car and before he could open the door for you, you opened it for yourself and sat inside. Levi pulled his eyebrows in, confused at your actions but he didn’t say anything. Rather he just went into the car and drove you home.
The entire ride home, you didn’t utter a single word. Not about the restaurant, not about the food, hell not even about him. Your mind was just trying to find a way to break this off in the calmest way possible.
When Levi parked outside your apartment, he turned the car off and looked at you. “You’ve been quiet all night, what’s wrong?” He asks and you breath in a big breath. “I think...we need to stop whatever this is.” You motion between the two of you and Levi’s heart stops. “What? Why?”
“Levi,” you look at him, dejected and tired, “you’re in a relationship and you didn’t tell me. It’s one thing to be doing this but she doesn’t deserve to be cheated on. She sounds like a great girl, by the way. I hope you and her have a good life together.”
Before he could even get a word in, you take off his jacket and jump out the car. You walked up three steps before your arm was caught by a hand, turning you. You almost fell but Levi caught you. “You really are an idiot.” He whispers and you pull away from his shoulder.
“What?”
“I said that you’re an idiot. How can you say that you’re such a great girl and then leave without me agreeing with you?”
Your lips part and before you could say “what?” Levi pulls you in for a kiss. “It’s you, dummy. I was talking about you,” he murmurs against your lips, “you’re witty and clever. You’re the one who can piss me off and turn me on at the same time. You’re the one who can put up with my shit. You’re the one, Y/n.”
You look deep into his gunmetal eyes, flabbergasted and touched. “Wh-Why didn’t you say anything back at the restaurant then?” Levi scoffs.
“I wasn’t going to officially ask you to be mine in front of a bunch of unknown people. What if you rejected me?” He jokes and you kiss him. Again and again.
“Never. I’ll never reject you.” You softly say as he hums against your lips. “Be mine, Y/n.” “I was already yours.”
You stay enveloped in his arms for a while but then he lifts you up and carries you bridal style to your apartment.
“Now can I show you what you being in that dress did to me the whole night?”

Invective Pain
Alpha Bakugou x F!Omega Reader
Words: 2.4k
Requested by: @goatsenpaiultimate
Hehe, sorry for the wait you guys. It’s been a rough few weeks for me. Also, the song ‘Butterfly’s Repose’ by Zabawa is amazing to listen to while you read this💜
Warnings: harsh language, Bakugou being an asshole, angst
Tumblr media
“Get the fuck off me.”
“Alpha, please.”
“I said, get off. What the hell is wrong with you? You’ve been too clingy,” you prove his point and cling to his arm.
“I miss you,” you try to nuzzle his neck so he can scent you. With your wolf quirk, it was getting harder and harder to stay away from Bakugou for long periods of time. Your instincts were on hyperdrive, always wanting him within your reach so you knew he was safe.
“Don’t you understand what ‘no’ means?” Bakugou tenses up as you continue trying to climb his body. Due to his inability to express himself, he’s still not used to your affections.
“I can’t help it,” you ruffle your tail to prove your point.
“Well, try harder to help it.”
“But, alpha-“
“No, I’m sick and tired of your bullshit. As soon as I come home, you want to climb all over me. I can’t even take a fucking shower,” you hunch into yourself as you take a step away from him. Looking back on it, he did have a point. You could stand to at least allow him a few moments to himself before you bombard him. But, it’s just hard on you.
Because of your quirk, you’ve always been the type to cling to people and try to protect them. You miss your parents because you considered them to be your pack but, that all changed when you met Bakugou. After a few months of dating, you moved in with Bakugou (your inner Omega told you she’d love to start her own pack with him). However, it’s been a difficult transition.
Bakugou normally takes your clinginess in stride but, it’s been hard for him lately. All he wants to do is take you underneath him and nuzzle you and treat you like a queen. But, he’s been dealing with this case. It’s been stressing him out and he’s never been the type to deal with stress in a correct way.
“I’m sorry.”
“Fuck, I- FUCK! Omega. I just can’t keep doing this. You’re fucking annoying. This was a mistake. We shouldn’t have moved in together,” his words stung in your mind like a swarm of hornets, making you yelp in your mind. Although, no one would ever be able to tell your inner turmoil from the calm look on your face. Why does he have to tear you down with his words? What does he gain from your dissociation? Does it bring him satisfaction to win the argument? Even at the expense of your heart? The same heart he swore to protect when he chose you as a mate.
“I’m sorry,” and you don’t understand why. You just stand there with a blank expression, no longer feeling that your heart is safe in his hands. And, that is worse than losing an argument the two of you have.
“Sorry doesn’t cut it. I’m tired of you sticking to my fucking side like a toddler. You’re always hovering over me. I need space,” you intend to give him all the space he needs. “Selfish extra.”
He doesn’t know what his words do to you as he goes to the room you share, bumping you out of his way. You want to cry, you want to chirp, you want to-to-die; without him-without your alpha- what is there to live for?
Your omega crawls to your heart, shriveling up like a raisin as if your soul has been sucked by a vacuum. You feel your heart drop; the first sign of Omega Depression and you don’t tell Katsuki. How can you?
He made it clear how bothersome you were in his life. You never meant to be a burden to him. All you wanted to do was love him and give him the love he lacked from his teenage years. But, it’s transparent that you’re not wanted by the person your soul has imprinted upon.
You sit on the couch, staring into nothingness. What did you do wrong? What was so wrong with wanting to love him? You feel weak. Maybe if Katsuki had someone stronger, someone who could take his invective words in stride, he’d be happier.
As you wallow in your own pain, Katsuki is upstairs taking a shower. Part of him feels relieved to finally have some space to himself and the other scolds him for what said; he barely remembers what he said to you exactly. All he knows that your face is blank so, he assumes it’s not too bad since you weren’t crying.
He walks out of the shower expecting to see you but, he’s greeted with an empty bed. He figures you just want space to be angry so, he lets you stay downstairs.
‘It’ll be fine tomorrow,’ it won’t. As he dozes off to that thought, you were downstairs stuck in your mind. It's your fault for always forgiving him after he’s verbally ruined you You just thought your love for him outweighed anything he said to you. But, your unconditional love has reached its limit.
You wait till he falls asleep before you break the facade (you still want him to get his sleep so he can wake up healthy tomorrow). You heave and whimper as you curl into a ball on the cold living room floor. You shake from the force of your tears, tears falling like rain in the spring. You’re trying to smile to stop the tears but, your mouth ends up in a horrible grimace as you silently berate yourself. Your hands scrape at your arms, nails taking patches of your skin as a way to distract your mind. You don’t sleep that night; you don’t sleep for any of the nights that follow.
When you hear your alpha’s alarm clock sound, you climb on the couch with your face smooshed to the cushions. Katsuki follows his nightly routine, not even checking to see if you’re okay. He just gets dressed for his patrol and leaves breakfast on the table for you, kissing your hair goodbye before he leaves out the door.
You’re once again crying as you just lay there. You don’t bother to call your job to notify them of your absence. If anything, you just lay there, your tail curled around your body as if it’s protecting you from the world.
You feel useless against your heart because you know you shouldn’t have allowed Bakugou’s temper to get to this point. You had suggested therapy and anger management to him many times but, he was persistent in telling you that he had it under control. You knew he thought seeking therapy was weak (as he thinks most things are weak) but, you just wanted him to think before he spoke.
You can tell that he’s tried to do better for you and you appreciate that but, it’s not enough anymore.
This was the last straw. Not because you still don’t love him but, because you’re now in your Omega’s Depression. It’s a fairly new phenomenon. The doctors warned Omegas and Alphas that their second genders could drive them into a comatose state if the genders were met with unfavorable conditions. Your omega has started the process and you can only hope that Katsuki figures that out before it’s too late.
At first, Bakugou didn’t think anything about your attitude. He just thought you were giving him space (which he hated. It feels weird to him to be alone when he was always with you and he’s too prideful to admit that) however, he knows something is wrong when you start to avoid him.
You don’t talk to him like you use to, you don’t cook his favorite spicy ramen anymore, hell, you don’t even come to bed anymore. It’s like two strangers living in the same house (well, roommates would be more accurate). And, he misses you.
“Why are you sleeping on that shitty couch?” He’s standing above you with his arms folded, head to the side so he can hide his blush. You don’t respond, dried tear stains on your cheeks.
“Not gonna answer? What you’re too good to speak to me?” He squats down to eye-level. His breath fans across your face, the smokey caramel of his scent bringing more tears to your eyes. “Omega?”
You still don’t answer. He takes that as you still being angry about the argument; he also notes the change in your scent.
“Tch,” he walks to the bedroom and comes back with a few blankets so he can make a small hammock beside the couch at your side. He slips into the covers, hand upon your waist so he can feel you. “Goodnight, Omega.”
The next day, you’re still in the same spot on the couch above him. He does his routine, this time spending longer at saying goodbye.
“I’ll be back, Omega. Cuddling wouldn’t be the worse thing when I get home,” you stare blankly.
“And, I put some of your favorite cookies on the table,” still nothing.
“I love you,” nothing. And, that’s how he knows that everything is wrong. He spends the day on patrol, withdrawn from his hero-work. All he can think about is that blank look in your eye, the stillness of your home, the taste of failure on his tongue.
‘I fucked up,’ he sure did.
He comes home and you're still in the same spot. He doesn’t even think you got up to use the bathroom. You’re the first thing he attends to when his boots cross the threshold.
“Omega, you need a bath,” you don’t move so he picks you up bridal style and carries you to the bathroom. Your body is sweating and that stench gets even worse. “Omega, I’m sorry.”
But, sorry doesn’t fix everything. Sorry is nothing when you truly hurt someone. Sorry is when someone feels obligated to correct their wrongs (not because they want to). Sorry is the Black Licorice of apologies.
“Have you gone to work?” No. He knows you haven’t but, he just wants you to talk to him. His alpha cries for his mate yet, she doesn’t respond. “Baby?”
The bath is spent in silence as you sag on him. His hand's card through your (h/c) hair, trying to release some of your tension. It’s such an intimate moment of him caressing your body as though you are a precious work of art. His lips latched onto the mating mark on the side of your neck, reminding you that he cares.
When he gets you out of the tub, he dries you with your favorite fluffy towel. His carmine eyes gaze at you adoringly from your navel, blonde hair resting against your belly. One in a while, he’ll kiss your legs and feet, silently showing how much he truly cares for you.
Night rolls around and you both follow the same routine as before; you’re laying on the couch and he’s laying beside you on the floor. You’re not eating and that terrifies him. Sadly, this goes on for another month. And, Katsuki is growing desperate to have his omega back.
“I allowed my anger to do this to her- to me-to us. And, now, I don’t know if I can help her anymore,” he joined an anger management group (which, coincidentally helped his public image as well) after he realized the argument caused the rift in your relationship.
And, you’re proud of him on the inside, even if you can’t show it. At least he’s trying but, your omega just turns a blind eye to his efforts. You commend Katsuki for not giving up though.
‘It must be hard trying to change and improve for someone and they don’t even acknowledge your existence,’ you do feel bad for him. It seems that your love does outweigh his words.
But, you’re dying. He knows it. You know it. It’s known. He just won’t accept it.
“Omega,” you’re unconscious. He came home from the weekly session to find you unresponsive (well, more unresponsive than what you’ve been). “Omega, fuck-please-I God I, please wake up.”

So, you’re at the hospital now. The antiseptic burns your sensitive nose as you’re propped up on the hospital bed, sheets crinkling under your body. The doctors told Bakugou that you didn’t really have long to live but, he just can’t allow you to go without trying his best to save you.
“Omega, please, look at me,” you look at him but, it’s like you’re not seeing him. Your eyes don’t have the shine they used to. “Omega, please.”
You can’t answer him. What if you said the wrong thing? You were clinging to life by a single strand of fiber, death clinging to your scent. You knew you couldn’t handle it if Katsuki’s words hurt you once more.
“Please, talk to me, yell at me. Hit me. Do anything,” you can’t. Your voice is stuck in your mind. “Get mad. Throw something. Spit on me! Push me away. Shit, anything. Please just please please pleaseeee, fucking, please. PLEASE I’M NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO BE WITHOUT YOU. Please stop looking like you want to die.”
“But, I do,” you hope he can understand.
“NO! NO NO! I FUCKING NEED YOU. I LOVE YOU,” he chokes on his words as he gathers your face in his hands. “I’m such a piece of shit. It takes you dying for me to realize how much I love you. But, I do. I love you so much it hurts. I can’t lose you.”
“Wipe your tears,” you brush your thumbs across his cheek to gather his tears. “I’m right here.”
“How can you love me still? Your will to live is fucking weak and it’s my fault! And, I’m sitting here asking you to hold on for me. You don’t even have to speak to me. Just stay here. I promise I’ll stay here with you. You can’t leave me.”
“Bakugou-“
“For fuck's sake, It’s Katsuki to you! I did this to you. I’m so sorry for what I said. I’m sorry for pushing you away when I felt I didn’t deserve your love. I’m sorry for making you feel the pain I felt all these years. I’m sorry for being a shitty alpha,” he cries in your lap as you pat his back. Your omega stores, crooning to help her alpha. You’re not dead; the future may look bleak but, you know it will finally bring you the love you longed for.

Grinding metal and shattering glass jolt your body awake as you instinctively try to right the wheel that slipped from your grip. Swerving to side of the dirt road, you park in front of the Black Audi that you just sideswiped. You will your heart to calm as you lay your head on the steering wheel.
Warily, you peer up at the rearview mirror, watching as a man flings open the driver’s side door with a force.
“What the hell!” The stranger shouts getting out of his car, leaving his door wide open and marches around the Audi.
You hear him shouting obscenities as he surveys the damage. Other than the obvious destruction to your car, you had made it through the fender bender unscathed.
“Fuck.” You mutter, quickly exiting your vehicle.
You don’t bother checking the front of your busted-up car as you made your way over to the fuming stranger. The summer heat swelters even though dusk had set in covering the quiet back road with shadows as the sun slowly disappeared.
“How did you not see me?!” He bellows, eyes still trained on the broken taillight and scratched bumper. Broken pieces of glass crunched under his shoes as he inspected the carnage.
His eyes exploding with anger as he whips his head towards you. “Well?!”
“I don’t know! All I can remember is that I was driving one moment and then the next…I’m sorry!” You choke back a sob not wanting to cry in front of a stranger.
You stare at the irate man as he kicks the shattered bits of glass to the side of the dirt road. His dark blue suit and expensive car said he was well off and that’d he wouldn’t just let this slide.
You were totally screwed.
“Are you high?” He asks, reaching for your face as he stalks closer. You back away swatting at his hands nervously.
“No, I am not! I’m just exhausted! I obviously fell asleep at the wheel. It was an accident.” You yell before rubbing your hands over your face. Your heart pounded harshly against your ribs.
“Uh, so what do we do?” You ponder, wanting to rip the band aid off and be done with this nightmare.
The man stands with his hands on his hips looking at you with exasperation. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath trying to calm himself. After a few seconds, his eyes whip open and narrow in on your anxious frame.
“We’ve got to exchange info. What’s your name and number?” He asks with a controlled voice, taking out his cell.
You answered him while copying his actions, trying to look like you knew what you were doing.
“What’s your insurance companies’ info?” Andy asked, flicking his eyes to yours.
“Uh… well…” You voice trails off knowing you don’t have any.
“You’ve got to be shitting me.” His face falls flat. “You don’t have insurance?”
“Hey man, I can’t afford it right now.” Your voice raises, arguing back.
“It’s illegal to drive without it you know.” He scolds, tucking his cell back into his suit coat.
“I know. I’ve been saving up for it. I just didn’t think this would happen.” You wave your arms around like a game show host towards the cars.
It sets you on edge the way he huffed out a dark laugh and rubbed his beard.
“Ok, let’s make this quick. I’ve got to be home in 20 minutes.” He peers at his watch before his hands fall to his slacks.
You jolt when you notice his belt coming loose. “Whoa! What the fuck are you doing?”
“Well, since you can’t pay me, how else were you going to make amends?” His tone heavy with impatience.
You step back until your legs hit the bumper of his Audi. “Uh, I don’t know. But I’m sure there’s a way.” You try to reason with him as he walks towards you with a menacing aura.
He unbuttons his pants, “The only way you’re getting out of this without the cops getting involved is if you suck my cock. I’m a high-profile lawyer. I know exactly what to do to have someone put away for a very long time.” He states with an eerie calmness, almost like he’d done this before.
You shake your head, pleading, “No, there has to be something else I can do.”
He grinds his teeth with annoyance. “Come on, you’re just wasting time.”
His warm breath fans over your face adding to the sweat already dampening your skin. “Don’t fight me.”
You scream as his hands shove you down to your knees, trapping you against the hot metal of his car, his legs caging you in. Fear racks your body sending you into fight mode regardless of his previous statement.
You push against his legs hard, but he growls down at you, “What did I just say?”
He traps both your hands high above your head with his left hand, before grabbing your neck with his right. “If you bite me, I swear to god you will never see the light of day again.” His ominous threat sent chills down your spine.
You whimpered and closed your eyes. The stressful tears finally falling as your shoulders shake with hopelessness.
Something soft yet solid nudges against your lips, “Open up.” He pries your jaw open with a hand squeezing against your face.
You painfully moan as he succeeds and shoved his thick cock inside your mouth. He hits the back of your throat causing your head to thump against the car with an ‘-oof”. He stuffs your lips wide with a low, raspy groan forcing you to choke around him.
Saliva saturates your tongue as Andy thrusts in and out with a steady pace, “Yeah, get my cock nice and wet.” His eyes narrow on you when he feels your tongue move underneath his aching member.
Dirt scrapes your knees as he bucks into your face, letting out sinful moans. “Fuck, that’s it. Make me feel good.”
Your eyes slam shut hating the way he spoke to you. Your lips quivered around his length as he plunged into your mouth with quick jabs. Your throat tightens when he bottoms out, pushing hard against the back of your mouth.
“Let me feel that throat.” He purrs.
A sly yet crude smile meets your eyes when they open. It was like looking at the devil. The handsome beast finally showing his true form.
You gag forcefully as his right hand holds your head against the trunk by your scalp and thrusts vigorously over your tongue.
“You’re gonna to give me that throat or else.” He demands, eyes hardening with a darkness you’d never seen before.
Tears slip down your cheeks as you gag under his ministrations. His girthy cock cutting off your air supply with every thrust. “Come on, give me it.” He grits, shoving his hips harder into your face.
You dismally acquiesce and relax your throat allowing him to slide down your gullet. His lewd moans fill the air as your throat convulses around cock.
“Fuck, that’s tight.” He recants his hips letting you breath for a spell before slipping back into your warm channel with a pounding force.
Spit runs down your chin and ruins your shirt making you feel filthy as he stared down at you, grinning. “Your mouth was made to suck dick.” He slammed his right hand on the trunk of his car as the pleasure consumed him.
He pants, bucking into your face harder and harder before his hips stall and he lodges his cock in your throat.
You frantically try to shake him off while he explodes his releases down your throat, but his grip is back on your scalp holding you still as he coats your esophagus with his thick seed.
Your heart lurches and lungs burn as he stays put, “I can feel you trying to breath. Your throat is milking my dick, it feels fucking amazing.”
Then suddenly he steps back, ripping his cock from your mouth as you fall into a heap on the dirt road coughing heavily. Cum, dust and spit cover your jaw line and tongue as you suck in desperate breaths.
Andy fixes his clothing and peers around, surprised that not a single car drove by chalking it up to good luck.
He gazes over your pitiful form as you push yourself onto all fours and cautiously look at him through water eyes. His temper seemed to have faded, an orgasmic hue radiating from him now.
“Don’t worry about the cops. That mouth of yours saved you.” He said with a smirk.
You sighed with relief as you watched him walk to the driver’s side before he turned around with a malevolent smirk.
“I’ll be reaching out soon for another payment. But next time it’ll be with interest.” He winked and adjusted his cock in his slacks before getting into his car and driving away.
You swallowed thickly knowing you’d have to see him again before stumbling back to your run-down car to head home for another sleepless night.

Amy has goosebumps just from the thought, she needs to visit and get to the good side of Priya's. She knows Priya is evil, and every good thing in her died a long time ago. But there is no way Kamilah or Adrian could break her so she does something nice for them. They are sitting in Adrian's office. Brainstorming plan how to get 4 votes, so Lily can live. Amy: "Alright, I pay her visit." Kamilah shoot stare to Adrian. Kamilah: "She's your pet. I don't care. But she gets all of you into this mess, so she needs to fix it." Adrian: "Kamilah be reasonable, she will not come back alive. You know Priya and her ´activities´..." Amy: "Kamilah is right. And there is no other way. She will send you to the hell in the moment you set your foot to her club."
Adrian: "No! We will find another way, I will not let anything to happen to you." Amy: "Maybe we will, but it will take a long time. And now, time is what we don't have. I already decide Adrian. And you cant change my mind. I'm going with or without your help." Kamilah: "Amy, she is going to break you. Don't underestimated her. Not every vampire is in control like us and our clans." Amy: "Now you care? You threaten to kill me, Kamilah! You can go back to your office, because you are not helping." Amy stands up and starts walking towards door. She stops with her hand on the handle. She takes a few deep breaths. Then she looks over her shoulder. Adrian put his head into his hands. He shakes his head and nod. Adrian: "We send someone, who will watch you from distance. If anything goes wrong, they help you." Kamilah straighten her back, clears her throat and began walk towards Amy.
Kamilah: "I'll escort you to her club. We need to talk privately." Adrian look between Amy and Kamilah with questions in his eyes. He feels there's great tension between them. He just don't know what kind of tension. It seems he wants to say something, but he just look to the opposit direction. Amy: "Great.. Yeah.... Thank you..." They got into her car. Kamilah drives Amy to the Paulus viewpoint. Kamilah exit the vehicle first, she opens doors for Amy and offers her hand. Amy decline and burst out of the car. Amy: "Why did you take me here? I need to meet with Priya! If you want to kill me, do it! Enough of your threats and shit talking about me all the time."
Kamilah: "You may be right, mortal. I don't care about you. But Adrian likes you. So listen to me, I will not repeat myself. I will help you out of this situation, who if I remember, you cause. But if this doesn't work out, and Adrian loses his life, because you put your con act and manipulate him to turn Lily. I'll kill you both without any hesitation." Amy is stressed out. Angry. Scared for her, Lily's and Adrian's life. This was the last button to push. She doesn't care if more than 2000 years old, strongest vampire on the earth, who can snap her neck in the velocity of light, stands before her. She slaps her hard and pushes her. Again, and again and again. She pinned Kamilah to the railing. Amy: "Ohh, really, Kamilah? Than do it, kill me! You are full of the bullshit! Drop this nonsense! You are hiding behind coldness, strength and rudeness. But we both know where is the truth! Deep inside, you are scared little girl, who is afraid of people leaving you, after they get to know real you! You are lonely and scream for the attention, affection and love! Deep inside, you want someone who will care about you, who will see the real you! Who will get you and stand by your side. So NO! I'm not afraid you. You care about people. Adrian may be the last being who likes you, and you know it. So you are losing your control, because he is the only hope for your humanity. Only thing which puts you in the line. The last thing to stops you from being monster. Be honest for second and show me some damn respect!" She catches Amy's hand when she wanted to push her again. Her jaw drops. She is right and they both now it. She stands there in shock.
Kamilah: "I-I..."
Amy: "That's what I though."
Amy free her hands from Kamilah's strong grasp and start walking towards the city. It's a few miles. This is going to be a long walk, but Amy doesn't care. She needs to clear her head. She feels connection towards Kamilah, but she is tired of her act and manipulation. Kamilah feel how tear slides down her cheek. Reality falls apart and she remembers how she sits alone in her pentahouse or office, trying to drink her mind off. She prohibited herself any kind of connection after what she done in past. After so much pain she causes.
After centuries someone sees through her like she was a plate of glass. She closes her eyes and tried gain her control back. After a while she enters her expensive car and follows Amy. It does not take long, she finds her walking angrily in abandonen path.
Kamilah: "I'm sorry Amy. Please get into the car, I'll drive you to the Priya's club. It's not safe in the night here."
Amy: "I'm fine. Just go away." Kamilah: "Don't be stuborn, you were right about everything. Let me take you to the Priya's club, now for real. I know I upset you, but it takes hours from here, by walking.
Amy sight and listen, she gets into the car and turn to the window with her hand fold above her stomach. She is looking at the night New York. Amy: "What can Priya do to me?"
Kamilah: "She is a real monster. She will promise you a lot of things. She makes you feel special for short quantity of time. In the second she gets enough of you or gets bored, she will probably kill you. Her games, no human can survive. People disapear or they found them dead." Amy: "At least she is attractive. I will have a nice view when she dries me suck and I will die for someone I care about." Kamilah narrow her eyes at the girl, sitting besides her. Kamilah: "We won't let that happened. You need to get out of there if she tries something. We still can get Baron's vote." Amy: "He is even worse. Priya wants to play games, but her ego destroys her once. What she doesn't know, I'm good at playing games."
Amy: "Kamilah, I'm sorry about what I said earlier."
Kamilah's brows quirk. She thinking about hers next words.
Kamilah: "Don't be. Perhaps it was bold to say those things, but you were right. Noone was brave enough to tell me before..." Kamilah drive Amy to the Priya's club and wish her luck. Amy didn't wait a long line and walk towards the bouncer. Amy: "Priya will accept me immediately." Bouncer: "Oh, are you her snack? Tell me your name, I check the list." Amy tells her name to the bouncer. He calls for his colleague and they escort Amy right to the Priyas V.I.P. room. Priya is wearing a black minidress, with gold stripes and a red high heel boots. A lace from the dress covering only a little bit of her skin, it's really tight dress. She talks with another vampires. Some of them Amy knows from the Council meeting. It takes only few second before Priya sensed Amy. She shoot glare directly to Amy. Priya: "Well, well, well. Look at who's decided do choose better company."
She kissed Amy at both cheeks and hugs her tightly. Priya may be a monster, but she is also very attractive. When Amy feels how close is Priya's body presses to hers, she gasps. Her heart skips a few heartbeats. Priya smirk and look at the girl before her with amusement.
Amy: "Hi Priya, I need to talk with you. Privately." Priya: "Ohh!" She clapped her hands together enthusiastically and murderous smile appear at her face. Amy rolled her eyes. Priya: "I love where is this coming. Follow me." They enter a private elevator what is connected directly to the Priya's apartment. When the door close Priya immediately catch Amy by her sides, other hand searching to find a way under Amy's shirt. She runs a nail along Amy's stomach harshly, and cut a line on her belly, blood appears immediately. Amy let out a moan. Priya kiss her with hunger. Amy pauses the kiss and walk a few steps away. Her heart is beating fast. Priya attract her, but she is also very dangerous. Amy is trying to cool down and put hand in the air between them, to make some space. Amy: "I'm here only to talk." Priya: "Don't lie, I hear your heart, it's like it explode any moment."
Amy: "Priya... I need your help with something, hear me out." They exit the elevator, and Priya pour them a glass of expensive red wine. They sit on the leather couch. Priya grab Amy by her thigh and pull her close. She is drawing a circles at her thigh. Priya: "Well?" Amy: "Someone of your kind attacks my friend..." Priya: "Of my kind?!" Amy: "Vampire... My friend, Lily... She was dying... So I ask Adrian to turn her. I got you envelope, he is calling a Council meeting. We need your vote." Priya: "HA! Adrian breaks rules for some human?"
Priya: "You get my vote under one condition. You stay with me and become my little kitten." Amy: "No way, I want to live at least for next 50 years, Priya. One night, no killing, no turning. No ripping parts of my body." Priya: "Oh, I will have so much fun! Alright then. After I do to you, you will have no thoughts of leaving." Amy: "I am going to regret this. Am I? I accept." Priya: "Very well." She kisses Amy and guides her to stand up from the sofa. Her hands sliding at Amy's arms. Making way to tangle their fingers while Priya dominate Amy's tongue. Priya: "Now, I want to hear your heart race, your moans fills the room. And I have a very good idea." Before Amy opens her mouth to say something, she is back in flash with sex harness. Its black leather metal restrains for neck and wrists. Amy let out a long sigh and look directly at Priya's eyes. Amy: "Seriously Priya?" Priya: "I'll enjoy this my little kitten." She doesn't waste any time and free Amy of her cloths. She is completely nude. Before she can protest Priya restrain her into the harness and with the swift move settle Amy into near chair. She spread her kneese and push her toward the edge of the luxury seat. She kissed her again, but not for long. She continues to Amy's neck and bite, she inserts two fingers inside Amy. Amy sees how colors spread before her eyes. The pain and pleasure made Amy arch her back a bit. Her breath quickens when suddenly she feel another finger thrust in. A moan escapes her lips. She tried to hold onto something, but the harness blocking her movement. She almost can't take it. Amy: "FUCK, PRIYA!" Priya continues in her murderous pace and drinking Amy's blood. Amy vision goes blur. She doesn't know if its from the pleasure or the blood lost. Amy: "You dry me suck Priya! STOP!" But Priya continues. She starts to fuck Amy again and moves to her shoulder. She bites her again and sucks her blood like it's the best food she ever has. She bites her side, drink a little bit, then stomach, and finally she sucks her vulva. Amy let out very loud moan and rock against Priya. When Amy's orgasm come to close Priya moves again, to her thigh. She drinks Amy's blood again. Amy yell by the pleasure Priya giving her and from the pain.
Amy: "Priya! I am close!" Priya: "Let go my beautiful kitten." Priya pump into Amy with vampire strenght and speed. She can't even breath properly. She arch her back, the harness slightly choke herself, her wrist miss oxygen, but she doesn't care. After few moments she crashed so hard. Amy: "PRIYA! FUCK! OHMYHOD!" Amy lost her consciousness, from blood lost and pleasure Priya gives her. Priya stands up and clean her face from Amy's juice.
Priya: "Ha! They will be pissed, especially Adrian and grandma. Th-."
In that moment doors flew open and Kamilah make her way to the Priya. Kamilah is standing her, her twin daggers holding close.
Kamilah: "What about we just kill you?"
Priya: "Wait! Just take her!"
Kamilah: "Smart choice, Lacroix."
Kamilah hide her daggers and undress her maroon blazer. She free Amy of the leather - metal harness and wrap Amy into blazer. She pick her up, holding her close, but carefully.
Kamilah: "You are not allowed to touch her again."
Priya: "Whatever, after this night, she comes back voluntarily."
Kamilah: "I expect ´aye´ from you, tomorrow. And even if she comes back by her choice, you will hand her over to us, immediately."
Without hearing answer, Kamilah exit the building.
Kamilah: "You got yourself into serious mess Amy."
Amy wakes up and nuzzles to Kamilah's neck.
Amy: "Kam?"
Kamilah: "Shh. You are safe and alive."
Amy: "I was imagining you whole time. While she was doing, what she was doing."
Amy falls alseep again. Kamilah stops for the moment and look at that small, fragile human. She don't know what she should think about this. But she decide to ignors it. She carefully put Amy at back seats and drive her to her pentahouse, where she clean Amy's wounds. She lay her onto her bed and with intention watch her till she wakes up, lay besides her. Amy lookes so calm. Soon she falls asleep to.
Amy wakes up in the morning. She is laying on top of Kamilahs chest. Kamilah is holding her close, only in underwear, Amy is only in Kamilah's blater. She tried to stand up, but Kamilah is holding her too strongly.
She nuzzle to her cheek with her nose, while stroking her silk hair between her fingers.
Amy: "Kamilah? Wake up"
Kamilah: "Hmm, no, you are not going anywhere."
Amy smile at the old vampire and lay at her chest again.
Amy: "Okay then"
They both continue sleep. And for once, both can sleep peacefully.

The bass of Molchat Doma vibrates the walls as you search for Bucky. When you stepped into the goth club on 66th street, you were more nervous than you liked to admit. The club had recently gone under new management and is rumored to be a place for arms trafficking. It is ingenious, actually. Under all the makeup and leather, anyone could hide their identity. Take Bucky for instance. Tight jeans, a black t-shirt, some eyeliner, and a leather jacket down to his calves, Bucky is unnoticeable. Also, helps that the most identifiable thing about him is covered under gloves. Don’t even get started on the leather band and silver chain wrapped around his neck. You need to fan yourself just thinking about it.
You also look quite different from your usual lab coat and safety goggles and Bucky has certainly noticed. He could not keep his hand off your thick fishnet covered thighs the whole way here.
With a kiss to your cheek, Bucky had left you at the bar to check out the area. That had been twenty minutes ago and sadly, people were starting to notice you too.
You felt eyes on you as you mindlessly scrolled through the meme group chat. Peter and Shuri were having an entertaining fight on who sent the best memes. You couldn’t handle the creepy feeling anymore. You were ready to show this creep the pretty switchblade Bucky got you for your birthday. Chin raised, your eyes met with green ones across the bar. You tried to give your best resting bitch face with dead eyes, but he only smirked and took that as his cue to swoop in. You slammed cash on the table for your blood red drink and slipped into the crowd before he could make two steps in your direction. You went down a hallway in the back which led you to your latest predicament. Where the fuck is your thick ass boyfriend?
You have enough PHDs under your belt to know not to yell out Bucky’s name. Searching for his wide frame under the neon lights is the only option you have left as you pass the restrooms. You think finding a 6’2” man would be easy, but apparently, every alternative person wears 5 inch platforms. Not like you can really blame them. If they weren’t so expensive, you’d be Bucky’s height too right now.
As you fill with envy for people that can fit into knee high platforms, an arm wraps around you and yanks you into a unisex bathroom. “It’s me.” Bucky’s deep voice assures before you can even start going through the defense attacks he taught you. You slip out of his hold and turn around to face him. Ignoring the fact Bucky has taken off his jacket and his muscles are now stressing the seams of his long sleeve shirt, you cross your arms.
“Where have you been?”
Bucky blinks confused before finding his answer. “Bugging this two floor building. Why? What’s wrong?” You will tell him sooner or later. Might as well do it now.
“Nothing. It’s just, uh, a skeevy man was staring at me far too long. We made eye contact and he tried coming over.”
“Did he hurt you because I will-” Bucky’s already heading for the door before you squeeze his arm.
“Bucky,” you laugh astounded that he’s so ready to fight for you. You didn’t even give him a description. Bucky lets you pull him back to the center of the room. “I slipped through the crowd before he could try anything. I’m fine.”
“Promise?”
“I promise. I’m fine.” You stand on the tip of your toes to kiss Bucky’s cheek but he turns his head to kiss you instead. He kisses you deeply just long enough to leave you wanting more.
“You still have your knife right?”
“Yes, you dork.” He visibly relaxes at the confirmation. You take a hold of his chin and turn his face towards you. “You do realize you have cut on your cheek right?” It’s not too bad. A medium cut surrounded by bruising. Super serum is probably at work already healing it, but it doesn’t hurt to be careful. It’s not like you’re left with the best of first aid in the bathroom. You head to the sink to wet a paper towel with soap and water.
“I was hoping you wouldn’t notice.” You glare at Bucky through the mirror. “I don’t suggest going three doors down. A couple of guards are sleeping on the clock.” He walks over and cozies up to you, wrapping his arms around your waist as he kisses your shoulder. “Is that really necessary. I think there’s more pressing matters to attend to.” He rolls his hard on into your ass as he kisses across your shoulder and up your neck.
“Really?” You pry as you wring out the paper towel.
“I have been hard since you walked out in the commons.” Your face gets warmer at his confession. “I mean-” Bucky groans as he looks down at your fishnet covered legs.
“While we’re on the subject, the eyeliner is working for me.” You’ve piqued Bucky’s interest. He meets your eyes through the mirror again. “You should wear it more often. You look so much like-”
“If you say Chase from the Covenant, I’m leaving.” Life drains from his eyes as he speaks.
“Like a man who can get into my pants.”
“Nice save.”
“Anyways, I say fuck it. Let’s do it.” Bucky’s eyes light up with excitement. “But clean the blood off your face first.” Bucky takes the paper towel out of your hands, scrubs the line of dried blood off his cheek, and throws it in the trash can before you can blink. Bucky turns your face to meet his lips not even a second later. He kisses you even deeper than before slipping his tongue in your mouth. You lift your hand to thread through Bucky’s hair. At the feel of your hand in his hair, he breaks away.
“No. No. Keep your hands on the sink. I think this could be fun.” He grabs both of your wrists and places your hands on the edge of the sink. He’s moving your hair off your neck before his lips connect with it. “So pretty, baby. Is this all for me?” He mumbles before placing a hickey on your neck. His hands squeeze your thighs before snaking up your torso and kneading your breasts through your top. Lost in the pleasure only Bucky can give, you assume his question is rhetorical. You learn it wasn’t as he stops his ministrations. “Is this mine?”
You scramble to find your words. “Yeah.” Your voice cracks. “Yes.”
“Good girl.” He looks directly into your eyes through the stickered mirror as he unzips the front of your top. Bucky brings his gloved hand up to your mouth. “Bite,” He mumbles before planting multiple kisses on your neck.
You bite down on his index finger and he pulls his hand away, leaving the glove in your mouth. He quickly takes the glove, stuffing it in his back pocket, before his right hand is kneading one of your bare breasts. You sigh at the feel of his calloused hand on your soft skin. You get a moment to enjoy the feeling until Bucky is lifting his other gloved hand toward your mouth. You get the memo without having to be told. You help tear off his glove for his metal hand and he’s stuffing it in his back pocket again. Instead of going for your other breast, two of Bucky’s metal fingers tap on your bottom lip.
It is not like you to deny him. You take his fingers in his mouth and suck on them, giving them the same attention you’d give his dick. Bucky leaves the growing patch of hickies on your neck to growl at the sight. “Such a fucking tease.” His metal fingers press down on your tongue making you take his fingers deeper. He let’s up when he knows you are about to choke. “Can’t wait to get inside you, but first I want to see you cum on my fingers. Would you like that, honey?” His right hand leaves your chest and plays with the hem of your short skirt.
With his fingers still in your mouth,  you nod, widen your stance, and back your ass up into his crotch. He chuckles lowly right next to your ear before his right hand is yanking up your skirt. Your skin tight skirt barely budges with one hand.
“You gotta be kidding me?” Bucky takes his metal hand out of your mouth and uses it to yank up your skirt. You pray to whoever’s listening that your horny boyfriend doesn’t rip your bottoms off. It’d make getting out of the club a lot more messier. “This skirt is annoying me. You’ll just have to be naked for a week to make it up to me.” Thankfully, your skirt moves up your body to bunch at your waist. You don’t have time for a witty retort or to even think about how you were airborne for a second before Bucky is digging his metal fingers into your sex. At the feel of fishnet over wet folds, he pauses. “Wait, are you-”
“Not wearing panties? Yep.”
He lets out the longest groan to date. “You’re gonna kill me.” Bucky tears open a hole in your stockings at the apex of your thighs before massaging and digging into your sex with vengence. “That’s what you’re gonna do. Forget all the highrisks missions. The stupid fucking guards. I’m gonna die because my girlfriend can’t wear a fucking decent pair of underwear.” Bucky groans and he’s… he’s being unfair as two of his thick metal fingers slip into you. He knows how much you love it when he uses his metal hand. Bucky is using it against you to sear his touch into your brain. You throw your head back onto his shoulder as he reaches sensitive depths inside you. His right hand goes back to kneading your chest.
“Wearing panties makes it harder f-for… for you to fuck me. Need to be prepared for your horny ass 24/7.” You pant in between words. Bucky raises an unimpressed eyebrow. The speed of his pumping fingers quicken to the point where the both of you can hear how wet you are over the distant music. “W-when are you not… horny?”
“I’m not even going to entertain you with an answer when I have this wet pussy to play with. ‘Sides, I’m not the one who sounds horny right now. “ Bucky’s metal thumb rubs your clit. “I’m not the one desperate enough for my boyfriend’s cock that I'll spread my legs in a public bathroom. Honestly, you just went with it? No second thoughts?” You’re too overwhelmed with pleasure to even bother a response. Bucky clicks his tongue. “That’s not good girl behavior. More like slutty behavior.” Bucky’s eyes light up with an idea. “Be a good slut and cum for me.”
“Bucky,” you gasp pleadingly.
“C’mon, you heard me. Cum for me. It’s the least you can do.” He’s sucking on a pulse point on your neck when you go rigid underneath him. You cry out as you reach your euphoric high.
“God damnit, you’re so gorgeous when you cum.” Bucky makes you feel the full effect of your orgasm as he continues to pump his fingers and rub your clit. You have to practically tear his metal arm off you to get peace. Both of his hands leave you and you can hear the tell tale sound of his pants being undone.
You get a small amount of reprieve before Bucky is rubbing his dick through your drenched folds. His thick cock stimulating your sensitive nerves. Bucky’s steel toed boot nudges your stance wider and he’s dipping into your entrance just enough for you to start to feel the intoxicating stretch of him. You’re arching your back at the burn when he pulls out suddenly. You sputter as you try to find your words.
“I don’t think you really want my cock.” He goes back to spreading your folds over his cock. The tip runs across your sensitive, overworked clit every once in a while.
“I’m literally on display for your fucking dick right now.”
“Then say it.” Bucky nuzzles your neck and blows cool air on the patch of hickies.
“Bucky, please fuck me. I’ve been wet since you mentioned you had to wear a leather jacket. Let me have it.”
Bucky snorts at that. “My sweet slut. Always so ready and willing for my cock.”
“Only a s-slut-” Bucky slides into you slowly making you feel every massive inch of him  “- f-for you.” You whimper at the feel of him as your back arches. You're trapped in between Bucky and the sink. No choice but to feel all of him.
Bucky rumbles right against your back. “My own little whore. I like the sound of that.” He tests the waters by thrusting shallow. You’re convulsing around his cock. It always takes a few to get used to the initial stretch. He groans. “Always so fucking tight. My own personal heaven.” He hasn’t been able to stop his little thrusts, addicted to the feel of you.
“B-Bucky,” you gasp strained. “P-please, move. Do something.”
“Look at you so desperate for my cock. I love it. Such a good whore.” He pulls out and you could cry until he’s thrusting back in, knocking the wind out of you. You gasp, collecting enough air for him to knock it out of you again. Again. And again. It’s not before long, Bucky is setting a brutal pace and all you can do is take it. You are going lax as the pleasure makes your extremities tingly. Bucky is pretty much the only thing holding you up as he brings three of his right fingers towards your mouth. He doesn’t even have to tap on your lips. You open your mouth for him to slip his fingers inside and suck on them. Bucky’s eyes zero in on your pretty lips wrapped around his fingers.
“What a good slut. Such a good girl. I love you so much.” His metal hand gently wraps around the base of your neck. His index finger and thumb stroke the skin right underneath your choker causing goosebumps to break out. “This looks so pretty on you, baby.” He kisses the spot your jawline and neck connect before continuing. “I think we both know how much better my hand is wrapped around your neck though.” He gives a light squeeze, slightly cutting off your blood flow, and grins at you. A broken moan leaves you as drool pools around his fingers starting to drip down his hand and your chin. “So fucking stunning. Should have got out my phone before we started.”
A light, airy feeling starts to creep into your head, kind of like your floating. Bucky’s pace never lets up and you’re close. So, so close.  A few more thrusts and Bucky is reaching new depths. You’re knuckles strain as you grip the sink hard.
“Shit.” He grunts. His fingers press down on your tongue not give a fuck if you gag. Your eyes widen as his warmth floods you. Bucky’s pace slows and he’s pumping his hips shallowly while he cums.
As much as you love the bare feel of him, you’re pissed. You were so close to an orgasm and he stopped. It was without clittoral stimulation too. It was gonna be groundbreaking. You actually gag on the pressure of his fingers down your throat and smack his wet wrist. He quickly takes his fingers out of your mouth and apologizes. You can’t believe you're stomping your foot while still on your boyfriend’s dick, but there’s a first for everything. You’re actually pouting as you cross your arms over your bare chest and jut out your lower lip.
“Bucky!” You wait for him to take his eyes off your ass and meet yours through the mirror.
He smacks your ass, squeezes it, and hums, mildly distracted. “Yeah?” He glances up and does a double take. “You’re pissed?”
“Uh yeah. Do you know how close I was before you ruined it? I-” Bucky takes his hand off your throat and uses both to dig his thumbs in the dip of your back as he shushes you.
“I’m sorry, sweetheart. I’ll make it up to you.” You’re frustrated and slightly on edge when Bucky slowly pulls out. “Don’t get more upset, but that was literally the hottest thing we’ve done. You have never looked hotter.”
“Why would I get upset when I feel the same.” You begrudgingly agree.
“Oh my god, you’re gonna hold not letting you come against me. You’re such a baby.” You open your mouth to defend yourself, but Bucky turns you around and lifts you on to the edge of the sink before you can start. Butterflies erupt in your stomach at that manhandling and you ignore it. While you avoid his eyes and glare at the wall over his shoulder, he wipes some of the drool off your chin. You melt on the inside and try not to show it. If you look in his eyes, you’re going to forgive him. If you look into his eyes, you’re going to forgive him. “This is ridiculous. When have I ever left you hanging? Don’t you think maybe I had a plan?” Your eyes slowly slide over to his. His eyes, still darkened by lust, bore into you. “I don’t want to see you cum on my cock through the mirror. I want you to face me, eyes rolled back, mouth gaping as I repeatedly reach all the sensitive spots inside you.”
“You’re the one that’s the fucking tease.” You smack his broad chest. He takes your hand and kisses each knuckle. His hand then goes to knead your thighs dangling off the edge.
“So, what do you say? Second round?”
“I can’t believe I am saying this, but I’m sexually frustrated and still slightly mad. Fuck me before someone comes in.” He wedges himself between your thick thighs. Bucky leans down to kiss you and you thread your fingers through his hair at the nape of his neck, happy to get to touch him.  He eventually stops kneading your thighs, just feeling the texture of the mesh stretched across your skin.
Bucky groans as you nip at his lips when he pulls away. His head drops down and shakes it in disbelief.  “You need to wear these more often.” He looks very serious at you and you would snicker if you weren’t about to fuck. You do smirk at him though and swirl his hair between your fingers.
“You gonna fuck me in public more often if I do?” You wipe some of your burgundy lipstick off the edge of his bottom lip as you ask.
Bucky’s Adam’s apple bobs as he gulps. “I-is that what you want?” He’s grabbing your ass and pulling you closer to the edge. You can feel his hardening cock against your hip. You’re so close to Bucky, you lean in just a few inches to press your chest against his and whisper sultry in his ear.
“I am constantly ready for your cock. Twenty four seven. Name a place and I’ll spread my legs. So fucking big. Feels so damn good.” You kiss right underneath his ear and then move a few inches down to suck hickey on a soft spot of his neck. With super soldier recovery rate, it won’t last long, but it sure does rile him up. He moans and it echoes off the linoleum poster covered walls. You love the vibrations underneath your lips as he tilts his head to the other side. You know his eyes are fluttering as you can’t help but to give him a few others hickies next to it.
You lean back to admire your handiwork. Purple blotches litter his neck in between smudges of burgundy lipstick. You’re pretty sure you’ve wiped off all your lipstick on Bucky. His blown out pupils watch you like a hawk, hands digging into your ass. He’s rubbing his hard on into the crease of your stomach and thighs and he doesn’t even know it. “C’mon, I want to feel the ache of you tomorrow. Fuck me like the whore that I am.” You feel a chill run down his spine before he finally takes action.
He rolls up his sleeves and of course, because your chest is now facing him, he needs to leave a few hickies on them. As he guides his dick to your entrance, you wrap your legs around his waist. Bucky momentarily ceases the hickies to watch your puffy folds easily accept his wide cock. Both of you are groaning at the feeling.
“Your pussy’s so wet for me. Fuck.” Bucky’s too turned for a filter. You keep your edging comment to yourself and kiss his sweaty temple. The edging thoughts stewing inside are knocked out of you as Bucky fingers trace the place you two are joined. He uses the excess of your combined wetness to rub your clit. Pleasure makes your toes curl.
“Not what I meant when I said fuck me, Bastard.” You can’t get Bucky to move his hips without falling on your ass. He seems perfectly fine to have you warm his hard dick as he kisses and leaves hickies along your collar bones. Your free hand grabs his bicep and you’re close to coming already.
“Yeah. Your bastard.” You can feel him grin against your skin. You’d comment if you weren’t about to cum.
“C-close. Please don’t stop.” You gasp out, begging as the rise of your orgasm hits. You’re squeezing Bucky while in your peak. He almost groans as loud as you’re moaning.
“You’re so gorgeous. Love when you convulse around my cock, honey.” He kisses your cheek momentarily before going back down to your chest. He starts pumping his cock in and out of you. This time literally knocking the wind out of you. You’re oversensitive from your orgasm and he never truly let you come down from it. Bucky is certainly making his promise. You’ll feel him in your guts for the next few days. Your hands run through his hair and pull on the ends. His mouth finally detaches from your chest as he moves with your hand. He lets out a full blown out moan that makes your heart pound. Bucky always lets out the filthiest moans when you pull his hair. You fucking love it. His metal hand leaves your ass. He grabs a hold of the edge of the sink as he pace picks up.
As much as you love filling all your wet dreams with the hottest audio ever, you don’t have the strength to keep your arm up for long. Your hand drops to his back. His muscles ripple underneath your fingertips as you dig your nails into his back. Both of you panting into each other's ear. Your legs shake at the approaching orgasm.
“I know you’re close. Be a good whore. Cum on my cock. I’ll wait for you.” He rubs your clit even faster.
“FUCK.” You’ve never been happier for loud music blasting through the club’s speakers. An intense orgasm takes over you. White dots fill your vision as tears collect at your waterline. With how hard your gripping his cock, Bucky isn’t far behind. He can only get in a few more thrusts before he’s cumming again. He bites into your shoulder and groans. Shivers wreck down your spine as his warmth fills you for the second time tonight. Bucky lets the sink carry his weight as he grips it hard.
There’s a groaning protest before a chunk of the sink falls off. You’re there to block him from falling. He pulls out and moves you closer to the other edge, away from the crime scene. You look over your shoulder. Thankfully, he didn’t break off any of the major plumbing parts. Water spraying everywhere would make looking yourself presentable a lot more harder, but maybe that could have been your excuse. Oh well.
You turn back to Bucky. He’s still holding on to the broken piece of sink. Both of you break out into giggles as he throws it in the trash.
“I can’t believe you did that.” You’re grinning ear to ear as he tucks himself back into his boxers.
“I can.” Bucky shrugs. “I don’t think you get how tight you get when you cum. Me breaking things during sex is not new.”
“My back. Our nice bed frame. The ottoman in the commons… Can’t forget the multiple tables. Shout out to Tony’s dented Acura hood.” You pull Bucky’s shirt to get him closer to you. You kiss him before he speaks. “Are you trying to seduce me?”
“If you fuck me again, there won’t be a sink left.”
He hums and rubs your thighs. He’s definitely addicted to the feel of the fishnets stockings. Good luck trying to get his hands off you for the rest of the day. “You have a point.” He drops to his knees.
“What are you doing?” He’s spreading your thighs wide in front of his face.
“I can’t let my cum drip down your legs out there. That would be irresponsible of me.” That's all the explanation you get before he’s burying his face in between your legs, stubble scratching your inner thighs. You gasp as he licks a stripe from your entrance to your clit. Fuck what he said. You’re the one that’s gonna die. Bucky is truly your horny bastard.

A Fine Cocktail ~ Park Jimin
Tumblr media
You smiled as you heard a screech of a chair pulling away from a table as a familiar face walked up to the bar. As soon as he spotted you leaning over the counter his smile grew, reaching into his back pocket to find his wallet.
“You were only here yesterday,” you teased, tapping your fingers against the marble top, “anyone would think you enjoyed sitting in a bar all by yourself and drinking your worries away with cocktails.”
“I’m waiting for friends, actually.”
Your eyebrows raised, “well that does make a change.”
His head shook with a light chuckle as you began to make his usual, knowing the exact order he had his cocktails in. It was part of the job and something you loved to impress customers by, constantly remembering their orders.
Once it was made, you slid it across the counter whilst he handed you his money, checking the bar quickly to see if his friends had arrived. “That’s for all my friends, the first round is on me.”
“I see, so you’re a generous one.”
From the way he dressed and carried himself you could tell he wasn’t struggling for money. His taste was expensive, as was every item of his clothing. Yet whilst most of the men in the bar like that tended to be your rudest customers, he was anything but.
“Maybe you could include a drink in that for yourself whenever you get a break.”
“If I do that, I’ll get the sack,” you pointed out, “but I appreciate the gesture. Mind, if I do get the sack, it’ll be you I’ll be coming to for my wages.”
“I’m sure I could find you a job somewhere, you’re a talented bartender, always making the best drinks,” he complimented, taking a sip from his current cocktail, “there’s a reason why I always come here.”
It was your turn to chuckle as you covered your cheeks with your hands, “and there I was thinking you came here because you enjoyed the atmosphere and the music.”
“I do, but the bar staff here make it a pretty nice place to be too.”
You were lucky to quickly catch an escape as a customer came up beside Jimin to order. You expected him to walk away and head back to his table, but instead he stayed and enjoyed his drink, watching with an intricate eye every last detail of what you did whilst making the customer’s drinks.
The pressure was most definitely on, but luckily you were able to place three cocktails down without a single fault. Once the customer had paid and walked away you looked back to Jimin and noticed the impressed smile on his face.
“Don’t you deserve some sort of raise for making all of these,” he laughed, taking another sip.
“There’s no way my manager would give me a raise, he’s rarely ever opens his wallet.”
Your chat was broken yet again by the sound of a raucous group of boys approaching the bar. You stood back as Jimin engulfed them all into a hug, piecing together quickly that they were all in fact the group of friends he had been waiting for.
“Tell Y/N what you want boys, the first round is on me,” he called out, sitting himself back down at the bar so that he could watch closely as you served up the drinks one by one.
Once they all had a glass in their hands, they excused themselves and made their way over to the table that Jimin had reserved for them all. It couldn’t help but feel slightly lonely as he walked away from the bar, suddenly working in silence again. It was only when he went, did you realise how much you enjoyed having some company alongside you.
You watched on every time you had a moment to their table, enjoying the view of them giggling and exchanging in jokes. Similarly, each time Jimin slipped out from the conversation his eyes would be checking on you over at the bar.
He hated the sight of you stood all by yourself when he was having so much fun, each time a customer went away you’d slump back over the bar and wait for the next to appear and demand an order form you.
As he noticed everyone’s glasses were empty, he quickly scooped them up as an excuse to head back over to you. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a face as moody as that.”
Your eyes rolled, resting against the countertop, “why do men feel like they can be assholes to women all the time? I’m fed up with dodgy customers tonight.”
“Tell me who they are, and I’ll knock them out,” he joked, but even you could tell a small part of him was being serious. “Well, this customer isn’t an ass, and whenever you’re ready he’d like to order another round of drinks, please.”
He sat down on one of the barstools and let you tell him all about your experiences whilst he was with his friends, hating every word you spoke. He never understood why people were so rude to you, especially when you did such a good job of being a bartender. He’d seen for himself how kind you were, if only other customers did too.
Once you’d finished your rant, you quickly apologised for letting him in on far too much, but he didn’t seem to mind. He understood more than anyone how stressful you found work sometimes. “Aren’t you a due a break soon, then you can relax?”
“There’s too many people called in sick, which is probably why I’m stressed and overworked too. My break will come at two once I can finally close this place up for the night.”
“How can you be expected to work until then?” He sighed, “can’t you just get five minutes, I’d love to introduce you properly to my friends.”
Your eyes glanced between him and his group of friends who were all staring across in your direction, “I’m not your girlfriend Jimin, I’m just a bartender who serves you drinks, I don’t think that’s quite a criterion to introduce me to your friends.”
Luckily for you, yet again the appearance of a customer offered you the escape from the conversation which was beginning to make you feel tense. You watched as Jimin slunk away from the bar dejectedly, carrying all the drinks over to his friends, straight away whispering to them as he sat back down on his stool.
For the rest of the night, he didn’t come up to the bar once, giving you the chance to meet his friends. You could tell straight away that you were responsible for upsetting him, his eyes didn’t look in your direction once whilst they all sat around and joked with each other. Suddenly it was as if you weren’t anyone to Jimin.
As midnight came, you watched closely as they all stood up from the table and slipped their jackets around themselves. You couldn’t help but stand up straight in the hope that Jimin would come and say goodbye, waiting tentatively until they all came over and approached the bar.
“We’ll definitely be back, those drinks were legendary,” one of his friends spoke, tattoos covering one of his arms. “I can’t believe Jimin didn’t introduce us to you sooner.”
You smiled appreciatively as one by one they filed away, leaving Jimin as the final one of them left. He didn’t say a word but slid a piece of paper across to you before walking away.
Once you were sure they’d all left you took the piece of paper and unfolded it, reading through it in a moment of disbelief, brushing your fingers over his written words.
You might think you’re just a bartender, but you’re so much more to me. One day I’ll introduce you to my friends as my girlfriend, let me take you out tomorrow night on a date and you’ll see…

This chapter came out a little longer than usual. lemony teasing
Natsu’s secretary called her boss from the front office. “Mr. Dragneel, Mr. Avatar is here.”
“Thank you, Ms. Kinana. Send him in.”
Because no one in the organization was a computer whiz, he contracted with an independent IT person who was recommended by Yura. The guy, Jerome Avatar wasn’t skittish, didn’t care who he worked for as long as it paid well, and generally had a pleasant demeanor. As the accountant, Yura was in contact with Jerome the most, but for any major issues or changes, those had to be cleared with Natsu first. It was mostly quick, in and out of the office dealings.
Jerome shook Natsu’s hand over the desk before taking a seat.
“So,” Natsu questioned, “what brings you here today? Is there something I need to approve?”
“No, nothing new. I asked for this meeting because I came across some intelligence you might be interested in.”
“Oh?”
“I learned that your rival Heartfilia had been in contact with a new cyber security client, Mikage Kaishā who’s into a lot of shady dealings with government contacts.”
Natsu shrugged his shoulders. “Sounds like just a typical client for her, probably has her launder money for them. I don’t really pay attention to her clients because we deal with different things. But I do appreciate you telling me.”
“Should I keep an eye on them?”
“That’s fine if you believe it’s worth it. And if you learn about anything that could hurt us let me know immediately. By the way, how did you find out this information?”
“A friend in the field told me about it, then I hacked into Heartfilia’s computers to authenticate the information.”
Natsu sat forward in his chair. “You hacked into her computer? I’m surprised her employee didn’t catch that, cause I know she’s good at this stuff too.”
The man grinned. “Well, not as good as me.” He pointed to Natsu’s laptop. “If you’d like, I can set it up so you can access her system from your computer too.”
“Oh, I don’t want to tamper with her company—”
Jerome waved a hand nonchalantly to stop him. “I wouldn’t advise it either, if you touch things, that’s what’ll get attention, but you can watch what’s going on. Keep an eye on her calendar, meeting dates, whatever you want.”
Natsu sat back, rubbing his chin. The offer was a very tempting one indeed. A chance to stalk his ex through cyberspace… someone must have mentioned to this Jerome guy their history. It wasn’t exactly hidden, but not something talked about either amongst lower ranking employees. This wasn’t the first time Jerome had brought them intelligence info, so maybe he was looking to increase his usefulness, climb the ladder so to speak? Being connected to a powerful Yakuza house was certainly handy, and what better way than to tap into such a personal subject.
“That could be interesting,” Natsu finally responded. “Alright, what do you have to do to set it up? And make sure it’s nothing I could screw up accidentally cause I really don’t want her to find out.”
Jerome looked at his watch as if calculating his options. “I could do it now. Might take me about an hour if you can go without the laptop for that amount of time.”
“You have to take it back to your office or something?”
“No,” the man shook his head. “I can do it right here, so I can explain along the way.”
“Perfect.” Natsu then called his secretary and requested she double his lunch order due to an extended meeting.
While the computer tech fiddled, Natsu just sat back with his meal, watching him work. Math wasn’t his strong suit— nor academics for that matter. Growing up, his father had always told him he would be next in line as boss, so he only learned what he needed to for that world. One needed strength, cunning, street smarts, not book smarts. Though he had to admit the things these hackers could do was scary when you thought about it. Lucy was lucky in that her best friend was just a wiz at language— including computer languages. It all looked like gibberish, but the woman interpreted it almost like a savant. According to Jerome, from what he’d seen so far, Levy was not yet at his skill level, but that could easily change with time and experience like he’d been through.
“Natsu you—” Gray paused his knock on the doorframe. “Sorry, I thought the meeting would be done by now.”
“It’s fine, Jerome is hacking Lucy’s system for me right now.” Natsu responded with a grin. “Now I’ll see what she’s up to in real time.”
Gray groaned and ran a hand down his face in disgust. “I’m not even gonna respond to that. But I will tell you I told you so when it blows up in your face later.”
“Tch. She won’t know, right Jerome?”
“She shouldn’t unless you touch something.” The man answered while continuing to type.
“See. It’ll be fine.”
“You’re an idiot. Anyway,” Gray waved a hand nonchalantly as he left, “call me when your free to go over the new orders.”
“It will be fine, right?” Natsu asked Jerome a second time with a bit of anxiety in his tone.
Jerome stopped typing. “As long as you just observe they shouldn’t see you, just don’t get excited and touch something.”
“I don’t plan to; not like I’ll know how to do that anyways.”
“I’m almost finished, but do you want me to turn on her web camera so you can see through it?”
“But she won’t see me?”
“No, for you it’ll just be like watching a one-way video feed with image and audio.”
After a momentary pause, Natsu’s eyes narrowed with a mischievous grin. “Do it.”
Being able to see Lucy every day and feed his addiction was just too tempting, ‘I’m turning into a junky.’ But Gray’s words entered his mind. What if the man was right, could this bite him in the ass later? Probably… Though how bad could it really be? He really had no plans to interfere with Lucy’s business, just her personal life— and yes, he knew it sounded horrible. What right did he have to stalk his ex? None. ‘I just worry about her, is that so wrong?’ Lucy’s tough, but she’s just a woman and their world didn’t always treat women fairly. His desire to protect her bordered neuroticism, but could anyone blame him considering the underworld they worked in. ‘I’m just doing it to protect her,’ Natsu justified it to himself. Guys like Gray who haven’t fallen in love yet, ‘they just don’t understand.’ If anything were to happen to Lucy, he didn’t know what he would do. Probably move Heaven and earth and kill any in his way for what they’d done.
It took just over an hour before Jerome finished installing the spyware and making sure the systems were still secured. Just a one-way mirror that Levy shouldn’t catch unless really digging for it. Another 20 minutes were spent explaining to Natsu how to do the accessing part, including pulling up the webcam whenever he wanted to. “Or just leave it running,” Jerome noted. “It’ll just show up in this window,” he pointed towards the screen, “and as long as you don’t log out completely from your computer it’ll stay open.”
“Who turns off their computers?”
“Actually, it’s a good idea to turn them off now and then so any software updates can be completed, but since I manage your systems, there’s not really a need to.”
“Great.” The two men stood up and shook hands. “Thanks, Jerome.”
“It was my pleasure.”
When Natsu arrived each day at headquarters, the first thing and last thing he did was check to see if there was anything new or interesting going on Lucy’s side. It was like being hooked on one of their products, because the high it gave sucked him right in. But so far, he also stayed away from the video feed. Looking through her calendar or emails were cold and impersonal, but maybe the video was too close, too real, too much of a moral dilemma in crossing that line of a peeping Tom. That didn’t mean his addiction may one day require more feeding…
October had rolled around, and the air outside grew crisp and cold. It was a beautiful time of the year with the color changing leaves, reminding that winter was soon upon them. How quickly the time sure flew. The Dragneel Yakuza clan had already started preparing for their end of year Bonenkai to happen in mid-December. This plus the Shinnenkai in January were the two biggest parties the clan threw for all their members. The first is to forget the stresses of the past year, while the other was to welcome a successful new year. Natsu spared no expense on the food and drinks to take care of the loyalty and hard work their members contributed. From the emails, he knew that Lucy’s group had also started preparing for theirs. ‘Maybe I’ll crash her party,’ he mused to himself. ‘Oh, what’s this?’ His eyes fell on a new email of an appointment reminder for the next day. It was for Lucy’s monthly massage at an upscale spa. Natsu checked his own calendar and noticed he had nothing booked, no meetings, no shipments arriving— a perfect opportunity.
The next day, Natsu went to the spa early and spoke directly to the owner, paying them a nice chunk of change to allow him access and to play along. Lucy was scheduled for 2pm and arrived right on time. So, as he waited behind the scenes, the receptionist acted like normal and directed her inside. She had a regular masseuse, something Natsu knew he couldn’t fake upfront, so that person stood inside the room to greet her.
“Welcome, Ms. Heartfilia. I’ll step out while you get ready. Please lie on your stomach like normal.”
“Thank you, Kenji,” Lucy smiled. She’d been coming here for a couple years and was aware of the routine. The male masseuse had strong, but gentle hands and knew her body well by now.
Natsu had to admit he wasn’t happy to find out Lucy’s regular masseuse was a guy but held back from lashing out. He didn’t want to do anything to mess up this adventure— and oh, he planned to have his own revenge. It wouldn’t be as sexual as the soapland incident but knowing many of her trigger points meant he could do a bit of damage well enough. Now, Natsu had noted that Kenji’s voice was a bit deeper than his own, which would be difficult to fake, but the man explained he didn’t do much talking while working and played relaxing music during the session. Perfect. Natsu could just hit play and not talk at all.
“Ready, Ms. Heartfilia?” Kenji called out through the closed door.
The muffled yes was heard, and the man stepped away, leaving Natsu to his business. He entered the room and immediately turned on the pre-set music, a light instrumental with Asian undertones. It was quite pleasing to listen to. And there Lucy was under a silk sheet to cover her naked body, with her arms up and crossed, head perched on the relaxed hands, and hair up in a loose bun, revealing her beautiful neck. Natsu almost shuddered at the sight and knowledge he would get to touch her skin… it was the one thing she didn’t allow him to do at Soapland— touch. His grin grew as he rubbed his hands together to warm them before making the first move.
He moved the sheet to uncover Lucy’s lower half, up to the thighs, then applied a film of scented massage oils to his hands with a few drops over the taut muscles along her long legs, chasing the dripping liquid along her skin to smooth them over. His hands glide through several passes to the swell of her ass, then back down again all the way to the ankles, fingers applying pressure against the tendons and ligaments to gently work out any tension it encountered. Lucy sighed wispily as his hands massaged each foot, squeezing, smoothing, paying attention to each digit and every curve. His thumbs applied pressure at the arches, kneading the tight knots there from wearing heels all day long. He stayed focused on the area, her toes curling and flexing as the mewls leaching from her show their pleasure, until Natsu felt the knots give and relax away.
“Mmm, you’re getting good at that Kenji,” Lucy purred with a little huskiness in her tone.
Natsu grinned to himself as he lowered the sheet back down, so she stayed warm and moved onto her supple ass. Using both hands, he took his time to knead each cheek through the silken fabric, using his fingers to follow the gluteus muscles, starting near the leg, and following the swell of her curve upwards, slowly riding the fibers looking for any knots or tense areas. One cheek, then the other paying loving attention to and listening to the sounds Lucy made to clue him in on where to go. Every sigh a notch in his belt, each mewling purr a win. Natsu grew bolder, fanning out his thumb each time it got closer to her thighs to touch…
“Oh, Kenji,” Lucy whined, “you’re being a naughty boy today— keep it up.”
‘What?!’ Natsu’s hands paused and tensed for a split second before catching himself. Does Kenji mess with her too?! He shook his head and finished up in the area quickly trying not to let such thoughts stop him. ‘Just focus…’ Natsu grumbled in his head.
After applying more oil to his hands, he moved the sheet down to reveal Lucy’s back and for a second time, Natsu paused on what it contained. Her tattoo… It symbolized… he took a deep breath and dropped more oil on to the skin, willing away the memories breaching his mind. He didn’t want to think about it, not now. It was too painful.
“You okay, Kenji?” Lucy questioned as if noticing the slight pause or tremble in the man’s hands.
Natsu mumbled a soft Mmhmm and dived into the massage so Lucy wouldn’t grow more concerned, missing the uptick in the corners of her lips. He slowly smoothed along the skin using the base of his palms for pressure, each hand following the muscles, moving out from the waist, up the center of her back, and flaring out towards the sides just below the shoulder blades, repeating the same movement, each time increasing the speed while lessening the pressure. Next, he targeted the upper back and shoulder blades, an area he knew Lucy held a lot of tension from carrying the weight of her voluptuous bosoms. With precise ministrations, Natsu applied careful pressure with his thumbs and follows the curve of the blades up and around to the top of the shoulder. He then searched with the pads of his fingers for any knots along her trap muscles, moving up along the spine and fanning out to the top of her shoulders.
“Oh, yeah, right there,” Lucy mewled when he reached a specific spot.
The area around her spine, between the shoulder blades held the most tension and knots from constantly holding the upright, flexed posture that wearing heels will create. Her wispy sighs signaled the release of her tense muscles, bringing another wave of pride swelling in him. Natsu continued onto her neck, his strong hands kneaded the supple flesh, fingers palpating and soothing all the knots. Her neck too, held a few tense areas, especially around the base of the head, so he did his best to melt them away. He worked through Lucy’s mewls and moaning sighs, almost sexual in nature, aroused and a little heated in the face knowing his handiwork brought forth such sounds. Ugh, how he wanted to hear more of it! Lucy putty in his hands and spread between his thighs, calling out his name…
“You’ve gotten better at this… Natsu,” the cocky teasing tone, snapped him out of his dream.
“Natsu?” He tried failingly to disguise his voice. “I’m Kenji, Ms. Heartfilia.”
“Uh-huh. You think I can’t tell the difference Natsu?” Lucy quipped back with a chuckle. “Kenji’s routine is very different. Plus, I knew the moment I smelled your cologne.”
Busted.
“Tch. Well, if you knew it was me all along, why’d you let me do this?”
“Making you work is my payback.” She settled back down, relaxed on her arms. “Now, chop, chop, finish the job.”
This little minx! He was the one supposed to be torturing her this time, not the other way around! “Fine, kitten.” Natsu gritted out a smile and took hold of her neck again to placate and lull Lucy back into thinking he would go along. He massaged the sides with the tips of his fingers Both hands wrapped around, and his thumbs pushing up through her hair against the muscles on the back of her head.
“If only you’d taken care of me like this before,” Lucy mumbled.
Natsu paused and leaned over her ear. “Why not let me take care of you now?”
“You know the answer to that.”
“No, I don’t know the answer, that’s part of the problem!”
Lucy sighed. “Natsu, I don’t want to fight right now. I’m here to relax, not fight. If you’re done, then leave and send Kenji back in.”
“Oh, yeah. Why? Because he’s another one of your boy toys? He gonna be naughty again with you once I leave?!”
“Pfft, I said that knowing it was you, idiot.”
“I think you live to torture me, Angel. But you’re right. I don’t wanna fight right now either, so—” Natsu leaned down quick and latched his mouth onto the area between her shoulder blades, sucking hard.
Lucy squealed and reached back frantically trying to claw at his face, but he grabbed her hands, knowing if she struggled any harder, she risked completely exposing herself. He held her for a few seconds, and once satisfied he’d achieved his goal, let go.
“Natsu! Did you put a hickey on me?!”
“This Angel,” he trailed his fingers over Lucy’s tattoo as he spoke, “belongs to me. Will always be mine,” he whispered close to her ear. “You know it, I know it, and your boy toys will know it too.”
“I hate you.”
“Nah,” Natsu stood up and covered her back up with the sheet. “You hate that you don’t hate me. It’s okay. I still love you too. See ya around kitten.”
Natsu heard the woman’s sigh as the door closed behind him and smiled to himself. He knew she didn’t actually hate him, their relationship was just complicated at the moment, never love the actual problem between them… Though, it had been a dick move to give her a hickey, but that’s what Lucy gets for leading him on like that. She could’ve just stopped the massage immediately if she knew it was him all along, so to let him go through the entire process, it was tit for tat— and hey, at least it’s only temporary.
‘It’s your move next kitten…’

My Neighbor: Hawks - (Takami Keigo / Hawks x Reader
Funny Idea: Your neighbor is hawks.
Winged hero: Hawks. One of the fastest and youngest heroes pro heroes. Number 2 in hero ranks and number 1 in most eligible bachelors in all of Japan.
And drum roll, please! *Drummy sounds* Tada! He is your neighbor! Shocking, I know, right? The title totally doesn't give it away! Nope, not at all!
Anyways, you might be wondering, 'Nite! How did that happen?'
Well.. ya see... that funny story…
Also, sorry for any typo :)
Enjoy!
Notes: reader is 20+. No warning. Mild rating.
****
"Please be fixed. Please be fixed. "You quietly prayed as you hesitantly reached for the handle that leads to the lobby of your apartment building.
The leasing office sent out a mass email earlier, letting all the tenants know that the central air was 'currently out of order' and they are 'working quickly to resolve the issue.' At least they were 'extremely sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the patience of all tenants.'
They also explained how per the lease agreements, no discounts would be provided for maintenance issues and that the full rent would still be due.
I really need to move…
It just had to go out right smack dab in the middle of summer. And on one of the hottest days on record, no less!
You took a deep breath and pushed open the door into what could only be described as a magma cavern. Nope, you weren't on a tropical island; this was just the lobby. Damn, if it was this hot here, you can't imagine what your apartment must feel like.
You trudged your way through the muggy lobby grabbing your mail on your way over to the stairwell. By the time you made up to the very top floor, you were out of breath and drenched in sweat. Honestly, it looked like you just took a dip in a pool. Your clothes clung to every part of your sticky, overheating body. Hell, you were just happy you didn't have a heat stroke by the time you reached your front door.
You prayed your apartment would be cooler.
It wasn't!
It was giving the stairwell a run for its money.
Oh, hell no... NOPE! Not dealing with this.
You marched through the doorway, making sure to lock the door behind you, not like it would make much of a difference. You didn't see or hear anyone on the trip up or in the hallways. No doubt the other residences did the smart thing and retreated for someplace much cooler. You tossed the stack of mail on your end table without checking it. You'd deal with it later. More than likely, the postal carrier had mixed them up again with the tenant next door.... again...
Later problem for later me! Cool now!
You barely made it to your living room before you started peeling your sweat-soaked clothes off. Thankfully you lived alone, so you didn't have to worry about shocking anyone as you made your way to your bedroom. Tossed your clothes in the hamper before slipping into the thinnest shorts and tank top you could find. You would have said to hell with clothes in general at this point, but if you were going to cool this place off, you need to get some airflow in this place asap. That means windows and doors need to be open.
And for the next hour, that's what you did. Every window you had was open as far as they would go, along with the sliding glass door that led to your balcony. The breeze that flowed through your home was still hot and muggy, but it was then nothing. You also gather any and every fan you had, even the pitiful little desk fan that sounded like it was on its last leg. If it ocellated or moved air in any way, shape, or form, that bitch was on high!
It took a little bit, but it felt like you could breathe as the temperature started to drop. Of course, by then, you were on the verge of dehydration and also contemplated, more than once, curling up in your fridge until that accursed flaming ball of gas in the sky went down.
But you had food in there, and you can't waste food. Damn it.
Speaking of food...
You enjoyed a large bowl of ice cream and about three glasses of water. You reveled in the coolness of the sweet treat in your stomach, which gave you motivation for your next venture.
 A nice cool shower.
You let the cool water flow over your whole body for what seemed like forever. Letting it wash away the stress, heat, and sweat of the day right down the drain. By the time you were done, your fingers were pruney, and the sun had descended entirely.
Damn, you were tired.
You lazily dried yourself and considered just going to bed as you were. You were on the 15th floor of your apartment building, so it wasn't like you had to worry about anyone peeking in your window. But you still didn't feel comfortable sleeping naked with your windows opened, and you really didn't want to close them.
After a short debate, you settled on a thin tank, and underwear was a good compromise.
Your body felt sluggish as you made your track to your bedroom. It was still relatively early, but between your job and the heat, you were completely and utterly wiped.
Bed... Sleep...
You showed your bed no mercy as you tore the covers off the nicely made bed and tossed them across the room. Then with no grace whatsoever, you let yourself collapse into the cool embrace of your mattress. Between the comfort of your bed and the white-nose of the fans, it didn't take long for drifted off to sleep.
***Later that night
The summer night air was hot and humid as the Wing hero: Hawks, flew high above the city. Even at the higher altitude, the air was so thick, it felt like he was swimming in a dense swamp rather than soaring through the sky. His whole body felt sore and heavy, so much so that he was actually an effort to keep himself afloat.
Damn, that villain really did a number on me. One more hit, and my goose would have been cooked.
The shift today had been long and hard, thanks to a tough group of villains that left him banged up and exhausted. He ended up having to get patched up at a hospital. The doc that ended up putting him back together tried to get him to stay, but he managed to talk him into agreeing on releasing him. Though, he would have flown the coupe either way. He couldn't stand hospitals or clinics. Not that there was anything wrong with those places. They just reminded him too much of the commission. Orderly. Sterile. Functional.
Which is nice for a hospital, not for life. He has almost 20 years of experience with it to make him an expert on that subject.
Shit got old quick….
Though honestly, it wasn't like his place was much better. It was a simple bed, one bath apartment. Top floor, of course, with a balcony that looked over the inconspicuous neighborhood it was built in. Now being the number two hero, you'd think he makes enough to live somewhere a bit more… well, expensive. But while he did live the high life, it was nice to have a place he could go and just be Keigo, not Hawks.
And speaking of, he could see his balcony coming into view.
He swooped down over the rallying, stumbling a bit in the landing. It was pitch black, and his eyes felt as heavy as his body. Thankfully, though, he didn't fallout then there. Camping wasn't his thing, and while the balcony was rather spacious, his bed sounded much more comfortable.
Ahh, home sweet home.
That's weird. Did I forget to lock the door again?
He shrugged, not giving it much thought. He'd been in a hurry this morning, getting called in for an emergency issue downtown. And it wasn't like the first time he'd forgotten to lock the door behind him. Plus, he lived on the top floor; it's not like he had to worry about people just walking in off the streets.
Lot easier targets than his humble abode.
He stepped inside and closed the door behind him. Damn, it was hot. He must have forgotten to turn the AC on this morning. The apartment was hot and muggy, but he honestly couldn't have cared less. An oven sounded like a good place to take a nap at this point. His body started moving on its own towards the bedroom, stripping out of his hero costume along the way.
Bed. Sleep. Bed. Sleep. Bed. Sleep.
His mind chanted over and over, clothes would be tomorrow's problem. He didn't even bother turning on any lights as he maneuvered through the living room and down the hallway. He'd lived there for over a year, so he knew the layout like the back of his hand.
By the time he made it to his bed, he was down to only his boxers. He was about to pull those down, too, but the moment his legs came in contact with the mattress, it was like whatever energy was left was drained out of him.
He sighed and let his body fall forward across the bed that would give him the sweet relief he so desperately needed.
Thump!
Huh? Why did his mattress feel all lumpy?
A loud shriek jolted him back to life long enough to realize that he was not alone. That the lumps in his bed weren't his covers, but a body.
There was a person in bed.
He shifted his weight, forcing himself up as the body under him started to trash and yell.
"Huh? What are you doing in my-" He managed to murmur out before a sharp pain to the side of his head finally did him in, and his mind gave in to the darkness of unconsciousness.
********
Your dreams were a God sent.
You were in a winter wonderland. Cool snowflakes danced all around. A cool breeze would blow every now again. It was like you could hear the clinking sound of ice hitting the window. Oh, what was that? The sound of heavy snow falling from the tree limbs? How wonderful!
So wonderful. So peaceful. So cool.
But everything changed when you were jolted awake by something pinning you to your bed. Whatever it was, was large, heavy, and sweaty.
You shrieked as you realized it was a person! There was a person on top of you! You trashed about trying to push the weight off of you, but you couldn't seem to get them off you. You screamed louder and struggled harder until their weight shifted.
"Huh?" The voice above you was drowsy sounding definitely that of an adult male. Your panic doubled as he shifted again, giving you a little more wiggle room. You still couldn't get free, but you took the opportunity to reach for something, anything to defend yourself with. Like hell, you were going down without a fight! Finally, you managed to wrap your fingers around something large on your bedside table. "What are you doing in my-?" You didn't let your attacker finish as you bashed the lamp into the side of his head.
He let out a loud 'off' as he rolled off the bed, giving you enough time to scrabble to the opposite side of the bedroom, hitting the lights.
Were those....wings?
Peaking over the side of the bed was, in fact, crimson feathers.
Who or what the fuck is that?
*******
Hawk's head pounded as he slowly stirred.
Shit, did he get drunk last night?
Slowly he opened his eyes, wincing from the light flooding the room along the memories of the night before. That's weird; he didn't remember turning on any lights.
Was it morning already?
He went to stretch his sore, aching body but quickly realized he couldn't.
He glanced down at himself and saw that yeap he was in his boxers and tied- wait.... were those power cord and... belts?
He blinked. What the hell? His upper body was bound in what looked to be a mix of various power cords and belts. Did someone break into his place and attack him?
Who in their right mind would break into his house? He was a hero! One of the top in the country!
He sighed as he tested the 'ropes.' Well, if this was a robbery, it was poorly planned, to put it mildly. The assailant left his wings completely free, and the binding was so poorly tied that he could slip right, with little effort.
A squeak of a floorboard caused his head to jerk up and glare at his attacker. A person carefully stepped into his view. And well, of all the things he'd been prepared for... you weren't it. And certainly not you, in nothing but your underwear, a tank top, and wielding a lamp like it was a baseball bat.
Well... this is... unexpected.
He could only stare at you in confusion that years of training couldn't even stop. Huh? You didn't look like a villain, much less a burglar. Honestly, you didn't look like a fighter at all.
If you weren't a villain, then...
He mentally groaned.
Great. You were a fan... and a crazy one at that.
Over his career, he's had a few run-ins with crazy or obsessed fans of his. He couldn't count the number of times he's had to change his phone number or move his safe house. Even with the commission on his side, his info still got out!
Maybe they should start hiring them instead...
Well... at least you were easy on the eyes. He thought as he gave you a once over. Your hair was a mess, and was that a bit of drool on your chin?
Yeap, just another crazy yet fairly active fan.
"Hey there." He greeted you with a warm smile, causing you to jump. He needed to play this out some. Escaping wouldn't be a problem, and he already had a few feathers at the ready in case you tried something. But he was hoping it wouldn't come to that. As irritated as he was at you, he didn't want to hurt you. You weren't a villain, just... confused. "It's not every day, I wake up to beauty like you. How about you untie me so I can introduce myself properly."
He gave you a charming smile as he watched your face go from nervous to confused and then to anger.
"L-Like, hell, I'm telling you my name after what you did!" You took a step forward and raise your weapon up slightly higher, ready to strike. "And don't flirt with me, you creep!"
Hmm, that usually works.
"My bad. I didn't mean to offend you. If you untie me, I'm sure I can figure out a few ways to make up for it." He winked, keeping his smile friendly and inviting. He needed to figure a way out of this that didn’t involve him hurting you or land him on every news station in the country.
*****
"You're seriously fucked up in the head, you know that! I am not untying you!" You yelled as a blush slowly crept over your cheeks. You were shocked at the stones this guy had! He broke into your home and attacked you while you were asleep. And now he was flirting with you?! Like this, a date or something!
Something in his eyes flashes for a split second, and you saw one of his wings twitch.
Why did he keep looking at you like that?
"D-Don't try anything! The police are on their way!" At least you hoped they were. You hadn't been able to call them, cause stupid you forgot to put your phone to charge when you got home. It was completely dead. You could only hope one of your neighbors who stayed had neared the commotion and called for help.
"Police?" His golden bird-like eyes went wide for a moment. Did he really think you wouldn't call for help?
"Yes, the police! You broke into my home and attacked me in my sleep! What did you just expect me to call for a parade?!"
"Wait…" You could see the gears turning in his head as he glanced around your room. His eyes suddenly went wide.
"So… you're not one of my fans?"
"Fan? WHY THE HELL WOULD I BE A FAN OF A PSYCHO LIKE YOU!?!"
"Wait! This is just a misunderstanding!"
"How the hell is breaking into someone's home, attacking them in their bed in the middle of the night a 'misunderstanding'?"
"Look, all I remember is flying home. Walking through my…" The man trailed off. "Wait, what address is this?"
"Like I'd give my address to a villain?" You scoffed and rolled your eyes.
"I'm already here like it's really going to make a difference?" He growled before giving you a glare. You watched as his wings poofed up a bit. "Also, watch the insults. I'm a hero, not a villain."
"Likely story." You deadpanned. "You could at least come up with something more believable than that..."
"W-wait... You don't recognize me?" You gave him a once over. "Take a really good look at me." His wings stretched out a bit. "Anything thing ring a bell?" You just stared at him blankly. Granted, he was good looking, and if he wasn't a criminal, he could easily be on the cover of a magazine. "Seriously?"
"Pretty convenient of you to pick the home of someone who doesn't follow heroes, huh?"
"More like, inconvenient. If you did, you'd recognize me in a heartbeat." He sighed. "Look, just check my pants pocket. You'll find my credentials."
"How do I know this isn't just a trick? Or maybe they're fake."
"It's not a trick! Look, if you're that worried, just get your phone and google me. I'm the wing hero: Hawks." Huh? Why would he suggest that? He wouldn't know about your phone... so why would he tell you to get it? You could call for help. That should be the last thing he wants. You pondered for a moment.
****
"Fine, I'll check. But this better not be a trick," You paused. "cause if it is, I got another lamp with your name on it!" He watched as you gradually made your way towards his discarded clothes. While you searched for his wallet, he glanced over to the shattered remains of what he assumed was your first weapon.
Well, that explains the small blood trail on the side of his head and his headache.
Finally, after what felt like forever, you found it. You made your way back to him as he watches you juggle, keeping your on him, holding the lamp, and reading his ID.
"Hero license, Hero: Hawks, Name: Takami Keigo." You mumbled as your eyes darted between the ID's picture and himself. He could still see the doubt in your eyes. Damn, if this didn't work, he was going to have to free himself. Hopefully, he'd be quick enough to do that and subdue you without hurting you much. "Wait… Takami… Keigo.." Your eyes went wide, and he had to admit, his name sounded a little too good coming from you. "Wait! That's the name on the mail that keeps getting put in my box!" A look of realization and shock washes over you. "You're my neighbor!"
"Ah, so you're the one that's been slipping my mail under my door!" He couldn't help but smile and sigh internally. Finally, somethings going right! " Nice to finally meet you! Sorry I haven't had a chance to introduce myself before now. Work keeps me pretty busy."
"You're a hero… and you're my neighbor…." Your eyes were wide as you stared at him.
"Looks that way."
"THEN WHY THE FUCK DID YOU BREAK INTO MY HOME!"
"It was an accident! I swear! I was exhausted and just flew to the wrong balcony. Honest. The glass door was open, and I didn't even realize I was in the wrong place." He tried to reason with you.
"Didn't you think it was a little strange that the furniture wasn't yours, or how about the fact that I was IN the bed?"
"Like I said, I was exhausted." He just shrugged before mumbling. "And well, let's just say you wouldn't be the first time a fan found where I lived and tried to surprise me in bed."
".... so you thought I was some psycho who broke into your home just to try and sleep with you…" You glared at him, clearly annoyed. "You realize I'm still holding a weapon right now, and remember..." You gestured with the lamp. "I gotta pretty mean swing..."
"Easy there, Chickadee. I'm joking. And I wouldn't call you psycho just... A little touched in the head." That earned him a glare that made him chuckle. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding."
"You like pissing people off, don't you?"
"I've been known to ruffle some feathers from time to time."
"Look," You sighed as you tried to process everything that just happened. "This is just... too much..." You sat the lamp down finally. "Damn, I'm sorry."
"No worries. This one on me." He made a move to stand.
"Oh, here, let me..."
"All good, I got it." He stood up, letting the restraints fall off of him like they weren't even there, let alone tied.
"H-how did y-you?"
"Oh, yeah. Word of advice, ya might wanna work on knots." He chuckled as he stretched.
"Y-You could have gotten free at any time… why didn't you?"
"Like I said, I'm a hero." He walked forward while you moved to the side, eyes still wide-eyed." If I'd freed myself before you realized who I was, you would have freaked out. Honestly, the last thing I want is for you to get hurt or you to go screaming down the hallway in your underwear." He informed you as your face turned beet red, and you then tried to pull your shirt down. He laughed at the poor attempt to hide. "Well then, gotta say this would make a hell of a story, but I'd really appreciate it if we kept this between us." He could help but tease you more. You looked so damn cute when you're flustered. "Not to brag or anything, but I'm a pretty well-known hero and have a reputation to uphold." He sent out a few of his feathers to help gather his gear while he talked to you. You were so entranced watching his feathers work that he had to repeat himself again.
"I-I-I… Yes!" Your eye finally snapped back into focus on him. "Of course! Just between us!"
"Great! Glad that's settled." He took a step towards you and held out his hand. You finally got the message and handed his wallet back to him. "My superiors and PR would have my tail feathers if this got out." He ginned. "Well, would you look at the time!" He grinned while making his way to the sliding glass door and out to the balcony, his floating clothes trailing behind him. "Best be on my way. I have an early shift in the morning. Sweet dream angle." And with that, he stepped out to the balcony and fluttered over to his.
Damn, what a night!
*****
Extra:
The next morning.
You woke up late, groggy and sweaty. The AC was still out, and your apartment was slowly heating up.
With a heavy sigh, you forced yourself out of bed, put on shorts, and headed to the kitchen.
Last night was a hell of a night.
Your neighbor is a hero...
What are the odds of that?
You reached up into your cabinet and pulled down your favorite cereal.
Whatever, he can't be that good if he made that big of a mistake, right?
You quickly made your breakfast and headed for your balcony. There was a slight breeze blowing that morning, making it almost bearable outside.
Almost...
Huh? What's that?
There was a large brown bag sitting on your patio table.
That wasn't there before...
You sat your bowl down and picked it up. Whatever it was, it was a decent size and heavy. You opened the bag, and the first thing you found was a note.
'Sorry again about last night. Here's a little gift for you to make up for it.
Bet you could do some real damage with this one. Batter up, chickadee!
Your neighbor,
-Hawks'
You reached further into the bag and pulled out... a lamp?
It was made out of wood and metal, making the damn thing large and pretty heavy. It was well made and couldn't have been cheap! You pulled it further out of the back, and when you saw the shape of the body, you couldn't help it: you busted out laughing. The damn thing was in the shape of a roaster!
Your neighbor... is a hero... and a strange one at that...

Prompt - Meng Shi is NHS's mother, making him half brother to NMJ and JGY.
Three Gates - on ao3 (for content warnings check Ao3)
- Chapter 1 -
Meng Yao sat out on the balcony of the brothel, bored out of his mind, as he waited for the party in the fancy inn down the way to finish.
He knew it was an important one from the way his mother had nearly clawed another girl’s eyes out for the opportunity to go. It wouldn’t have been worth it otherwise: she was older, her looks a little faded, her body a little weaker than the others, and a party like that was not nearly as effective a means of making money as the steady work at the brothel.
But Meng Yao didn’t know why it was so important – only that his mother had looked especially excited as she’d gotten ready.
Maybe she thought she might find a patron there.
Wistful thinking, if she did – she hadn’t had a patron in over a year, and the last one hadn’t been worth much; they hadn’t even gotten a better room at the brothel out of it, much less being set up in a discreet apartment of their own the way Meng Shi had told him had happened in the past.
At least Meng Yao hadn’t been recruited to act as a server at the party. The bosses at the brothel and the inn asked for him to do odd tasks like that more and more since they knew they could get him to do it for free, and he had no choice, even though he hated seeing his mother smile and flutter her eyes at the men she serviced. This party, though, was too high-end, apparently, to risk having a child like him mess up – they’d gotten actual servers, paid ones, and never mind the cost.
Maybe there would be rich men there, generous ones. Maybe his mother would be able to get a good tip. Maybe the bosses would be well-paid enough to let her keep it. Maybe they could get some meat to eat…
“Hey, you! You – you up there! Can you help me?”
He looked down.
There was another boy there at the base of the balcony outside of Meng Shi's window, where Meng Yao liked to sit: a boy few years older than him, taller, in finely made clothing that would normally make Meng Yao itch all over in futile envy, but the other boy’s eyes were white around the edges in a way that was immediately, painfully familiar.
“Someone’s chasing you?” Meng Yao asked, and the boy’s eyes widened even further, surprised, but he nodded in confirmation. “There’s a trellis around the left side – can you climb up? I'll hide you.”
The boy found the trellis that Meng Yao used to get in and out of the second floor without anyone seeing – it creaked a little under the bigger boy’s weight, but he was just young and small enough that he managed to get up without too much of a problem, and Meng Yao pushed him through the balcony door just as a dark figure stepped out from the inn down the road, his motions a little too slow and deliberate to be anything but predatory.
The man was handsome enough, in a cruel sort of way. Meng Yao didn’t like the way he smiled as he started to survey the street with his eyes – looking for the boy Meng Yao had just hidden away, no doubt about it, and men who attended parties stocked with people like Meng Yao’s mother as party favors didn’t have good intentions when they looked at boys with a smile like that.
Meng Yao put on his stupidest and most vacant expression, leaning his head against the bars as if he’d never done anything more interesting in his life than daydream, and eventually the man walked by the brothel without paying him more than a cursory look.
As soon as he was sure the man was gone, Meng Yao turned and went back inside.
“Thanks,” the boy said. He was sitting on the floor in the middle of the room, his knees pulled up to his chest and still shaking; he didn’t even seem to have noticed that he was in the perfumed heart of a brothel lady’s personal chambers. “I’m sorry to have bothered you.”
“He was looking for you in particular,” Meng Yao said, crouching down next to him and studying him with the practiced eye of a boy raised among whores. The boy was handsome, with straight features, good cheekbones, and a certain ruddiness that suggested health – not the sort of pretty boy that usually got sought out at such parties, but certainly more than pretty enough. Tall, too, to judge by the length of his legs, but the amount of baby fat on his face suggested Meng Yao had been right about him being not that much older than him. “Why? He was at a party full of prostitutes.”
There wasn’t any point in obfuscating.
The boy ducked his head down, cheeks flushing dark. “My father’s there,” he said, not really answering the question. “They kept toasting him over and over, until they’d gotten him really drunk, and then they set up him with one of the – with a lady. Normally he keeps an eye on me so there isn’t any trouble, but this time...”
Meng Yao frowned. “That man’s been after you before?” A shaky nod. “You’re sure? Has he ever tried –”
The boy flinched.
“And your father still took you to where he could find you?” Meng Yao shook his head: fathers really weren’t worth anything, were they? His own had abandoned him, abandoned his mother without even purchasing her freedom, and this boy’s didn’t seem especially good either, if he was out getting drunk and leaving his son where known harm could come to him.
“He didn’t have a choice,” the boy mumbled. “Either about going to the party, or about bringing me. Anyway it’s not even – I don’t think it’s about me. He doesn’t have any reputation for liking boys generally. But he hates my father, and I’m my father’s only son, his heir. Wen Ruohan only wants to ruin me to hurt my father.”
Having seen the avid, avaricious look on the man’s face as he’d walked down the street, searching, Meng Yao wasn’t so sure about that, but he thought it might not help to say so. “Well, you lost him.”
“Thanks,” the boy said. “I’m in your debt. But I’d better get going, before he starts knocking on doors and asking questions.”
“In this district? No one will answer.”
“They will if he offers them gold,” the boy said, rubbing his face. He looked tired, and scared.
If this Wen Ruohan was willing to go knocking at every brothel in town and offer them gold to search for the boy, it definitely wasn’t just about his father, but Meng Yao was a practical sort of person. “I can help hide you,” he decided. “Will you give me gold for it, too, later?”
The bosses wouldn’t share any of Wen Ruohan’s gold with him, but this boy – or rather, his father – might, if Meng Yao played his cards right. Of course, he might get nothing at all, but nothing was more than likely what he’d get on the other side, too, and if he did nothing then there’d be another ruined boy on the streets, probably disowned when his dishonor was discovered, with no way to live other than to sell himself to one of the brothels that catered to things like that.
He wasn’t yet quite bitter enough to want others to be torn down to make his own misery seem less.
Might as well try to help.
The boy nodded, eyes wide, and Meng Yao tugged him over to the closet where his mother kept her clothing. “He’s looking for a boy,” he explained when the boy didn’t seem to understand. “This brothel doesn’t keep boys – I’m not a worker here, my mother is – and so it would be strange for there to be a boy here, you understand? But not strange at all for there to be another whore. Not even a young one.”
He probably could have just hidden the boy in the closet and called it done, but Meng Yao took a certain pleasure in stripping down the fine sturdy fabrics the boy was wearing and replacing them with his mothers’ cheap silks – they’d been more expensive, once, but she’d had to sell those – and in painting the boy’s face and eyes until he looked like any of the other girls that worked the house.
More pretty than some, even. His looks were really quite striking, even covered in cheap makeup, but with a fan and a veil to guard his face, no one looked twice at him where he was sitting in the corner of the main room, not even when the man hunting him, Wen Ruohan, leisurely followed the bosses around as they tore through the brothel, opening closets and looking under beds, searching for a stowaway.
Meng Yao’s pettiness turned out to have been a good idea, and if the boy asked, he’d definitely done it on purpose.
(A few of the men tried to buy ‘her’, always out looking for new meat, but Meng Yao was an old hand at turning down or redirecting customers that wanted things, and the one that kept persisting, a mean old drunkard that they’d had problems with before, got scared away by the boy’s own vicious glare.)
“Thanks,” the boy said again once the man he'd called Wen Ruohan had left. “Again.”
“You’ll pay me later,” Meng Yao reminded him, and the boy nodded. “What’s your name, anyway?”
“My name is Nie Mingjue. What's your name?”
“Meng Yao. Come upstairs – I have a little place in the attic where I sleep, and if you squeeze you might just fit.”
Nie Mingjue did, albeit barely, and if Meng Yao shoved himself into the boy’s arms, insisting that there wasn’t any other alternative, he thought that the bit of warmth he got was the least he deserved for enduring the stresses of the evening. His suspicions that Nie Mingjue was a great hugger whose hands never wandered were borne out by truth, and they stayed warm and safe the entire night through.
The next morning, Meng Yao reluctantly gave Nie Mingjue back his clothing – he would’ve liked to have sold a few pieces if he thought he could get away with it, but Nie Mingjue was meticulous in dressing properly – and watched him get dressed, thumbing idly through one of the cultivation manuals his mother had bought him. She hadn’t come home the night before, which meant she’d had a customer at the party; hopefully that meant they would be eating this month, even if Nie Mingjue forgot about paying what he owed. Assuming she didn’t waste the money on even more stupid books…
“What’s that?” Nie Mingjue asked, nodding at it.
Meng Yao showed it to him. “It’s supposed to teach you the basics of cultivating.”
He didn’t think it did, though. Nothing happened no matter how many times he practiced the motions, and it wouldn’t be the first time something his mother had bought at too high a price with her hard-earned money turned out to be a fake.
“Cultivation?” Nie Mingjue asked, and took the manual. “This is wrong.”
Meng Yao sighed. Of course it was.
“This won’t teach you anything,” Nie Mingjue continued, flipping through the pages with a frown. “Some of this is actually backwards - it’s not just useless, it’s worse than useless.”
Meng Yao blinked. “How do you know?”
“Because I’m a cultivator, of course,” Nie Mingjue said as if it was nothing. “Do you really want to learn?”
“It’s my mother’s dream for me,” Meng Yao said, his hands curling into fists with excitement. Nie Mingjue could be lying, of course, but he’d figured out pretty quickly in their conversation the night before that Nie Mingjue was very bad even at dissembling, and he didn’t look like he was lying now. “If you get me a real manual, there’s no need to pay any gold.”
“I’ll do both,” Nie Mingjue said, very seriously. “I don’t have a beginner’s manual with me, but I’ll get one from home and bring it to you next time we come here. Will that work?”
Meng Yao nodded furiously. Even if he got nothing, he started with nothing, he reminded himself harshly, but he couldn’t quite stop himself from hoping. Just once, just this once…
“And as for the gold, I can get that right now,” Nie Mingjue said. “Stay here, I’ll be right back.”
Meng Yao spent the next quarter shichen telling himself to forget about seeing Nie Mingjue ever again, that the other boy had already forgotten him, that it was all pointless and he should be thinking instead about how to convince his mother to save some of what she earned from the night’s work rather than spending it at once.
But Nie Mingjue did come back, running as fast as he could.
“Meng Yao! Meng Yao!” he shouted, waving, and Meng Yao looked down at him from the balcony just the way he had the night before. “We’re going to leave right away, so I have to go back, but I got you whatever I could grab! Catch!”
Meng Yao caught the little bag Nie Mingjue threw him, stunned, and watched as the other boy ran back the way he came, a pair of fiercely scowling men in dark robes catching him by the arms and starting to scold him even as they dragged him away.
The pouch in Meng Yao’s hands was very light, feeling almost as if there was nothing inside, and very small, barely two fingers in width.
He figured that meant that there wouldn’t be much in there – a child’s pocket-money – but when he opened it up, he unexpectedly could fit his whole hand inside.
“Qiankun pouch!” he gasped, realizing what it must be, and grabbed a handful of the coins inside to pull out. They weren’t all gold – mostly not, in fact, but all those copper pennies and pieces of silver were still more than Meng Shi had managed to save up in six months’ time, and the two or three little chunks of gold hidden underneath would be an excellent start to a fund meant to buy her freedom.
Meng Yao hid the money in four different spots right away, putting the bag itself in the safest spot of all, and went to show the bosses a portion of what he’d gotten, claiming he’d gotten an unexpected tip. They took the small scrap of silver, leaving him with only a few copper pennies, and they went and found one of the more obviously hidden stashes to confiscate as well, just as he’d expected. But after that, they thought he’d been emptied out, while the gold and the rest of the money were still safe.
“Yesterday was a good day,” he told his mother with a smile when she returned, but she didn’t smile back even though her clothing was still intact and he didn’t see any new bruises, meaning it had to have been a decent enough night. “Wasn’t it for you?”
“No,” she said, her voice dull and deeply disappointed. “Not really.”
