Tf2 Mercs Period flow headcanons
Free will strikes again 😈😈
Heavy
The Red terror
Very heavy flow that last 6-7 days. The longest she’s had is 9 days and it took bear meat to recover
The blood is usually dark brown and overall a bit of a delayed flow
Calls it her menstrual cycle only. Heavy isn’t big on midol or pain relief (Russian grit af)
Will always use a warm water bottle tho
Only used scraps of fabric until her 20s. Heavy doesn’t like pads because they feel like diapers and she doesn’t fuck with tampons until she has sex for the first time so she won’t “loose her virginity to stick”
We need more sex education
Ultra tampons for business, free bleed in the period draws for leisure
Sniper
Bush woman
Some hardcore feminist shit. Walk into the woods and menstruate on a stick indigo girls concert transparent
(if you get that i love you)
Sniper normally just free bleeds or like dries out her vagina during bathroom breaks. She smokes weed for cramps and gets bad period diarrhea
Very light, irregular periods. Completely skips some months due to stress and malnutrition (and she looses her appetite on her period!!(
Severe period exhaustion 😮💨
Flow is bright red or faint. Might be some blood on the briefs on the first/second morning but then not much happening outside of clots.
Would have fertility issues I feel
Sniper gets anemic on her period and resists taking the supplements Medic recommends. Finally he fights her into taking them and, shocker! She’s not passing out when she stands
Has tasted her period blood clots. Canon I fear
Says on the rag
Demo
MENACE
Demo has a moderate flow but pretty gnarly cramps. The sharp, pulsing kind. Hurts like a bitch!!
Flushes tampons and could give two fucks
She drinks more on her period and has wicked period shits. Possibly the worst asshole cramps in the group, and don’t even get me started on sore nipples
Thick dark red blood. Not hard blood clots but large bloody goops and liquid. Has to shower more often on her period 😔
Super and super plus tampons and the hospital grade pads. Completely unnecessary but Demo gets the biggest most crinkly padding pads of all time!!! Why!!!???!!!
PCOS queen. Thicker body hair, wild anger at times, and cysts!!! When one bursts she finally goes to Medic who immediately gives morphine and some weird blue sludge
Pain was gone but she did wake up with a third kidney
Scout
Type of bitch to get pregnant while pregnant
What a nightmare! PMS like a mother fucker! Scout becomes a snappy little bitch on her period. Terrorizes the base and just crashes out for no reason
If you eat her food so help you God
Really strong cravings and really intense ovulation. Yk how some women really go into heat when they ovulate? Like REALLY lock in? That’s Scout
Fertile and loves chocolate but aggressive
BAWLS ON HER PERIOD and period breakouts
Lighter/moderate flow. More than Sniper but less than Demo
Running really helps her cramps but they usually go to about 5/10 at worst
Her boobs always hurt worse than anything else and she’ll wear a sports bra instead of wrapping them for work
regular tampons and refuses go wear a pad
Medic
I will be using he/him pronouns because period!medic isn’t a gender bend. Medic wanted to feel even closer to his baboons and so he installed the necessary organs to build and birth them
Unwanted and unforeseen side effect 😔
Sturdy but average flow and a very consistent cycle. Bright red with brown spotting towards the end. He keeps a calendar and tracks ovulation
He would have period sex. No question. And, in a sick and wicked manner, would blow them after 😋
horrible to imagine. Anyway, Medic has rougher periods with heavy hormone fluctuations. Intense mood swings, fatigue, and some month deals with painful ovarian cysts
His periods don’t normally have too bad cramps!! He’s just sore in the southern skies and has some lightning sharp stabbing pains in his asshole
Medicates fully and all the way except in the beginning when he monitored the function more closely
Light period acne heavy metalic scent. Feels very tender and hungry
Soldier
Free bleeds and gets blood everywhere
Heavy flow and pretty intense cramps. And, rage. Period rage. Heightened by her pain and immense discomfort and all of her sheets have stains
Dark brown blood and irregular. Can bleed for days and has had 11-12 day periods that completely drain her
Her cramps will leave her bed ridden. If she has to go to battle, there will be NO indication of her pain. She might even be worse to over compensate. But Soldier will run a little slower and land from rocket jumps much more gently
Cries in the locker room and respawn when alone 😭😭😭😭 my shayla
Unless she’s gassed up for battle Soldier is much quieter on his period and sluggish
Eats so much omg decimates that kitchen. The team has to have a meeting because they’ve gone to the store three days in a row, and this is the forth morning everything is gobbled down in the night by a certain greedy little rat
Every time she starts her period she marches into the medbay to LOUDLY announce it. This is the only time she ever mentions the topic of menstruation in relation to herself
Will say fucked up shit tho. Tells Scout blood attracts bears and viciously growls after finding Scout’s tampons
Spy
Eats steak almost nightly when on her period
She refuses to discuss such things with the team and calls it tasteless conversation
INTERNALIZED MISOGYNY and does everything she can to hide her period. Will use kitty perfume to avoid blood smell, tampons only and she hides the wrappers before throwing them out
Heavier flow with low pain. She’ll feel the most discomfort in the cervix area but she doesn’t experience much cramping
Red/brown mix and very spotting days 1-3. Day 3/4-5 is heavy flow and then day six is usually the end
Midol in a Tylenol bottle 😭
She becomes a wicked bitch. Horrifically snappy and will bite your head off. Some period shits. Boobs hurt the week before
Engineer
Her periods are dandy.
Yk how people say periods last 3-5 days? And you’re like, who the fuck is having three day periods?
It’s this gal
Engineer has some mild cramping but it lasts ALL day. From the first flutter of her eyes to the final rest, her uterus is aching
Tight period cramps and a lighter flow. She wears regular and lite tampons for two days and then is good
Bright red and thin blood. Never has big clots and rarely has goopy blood
Her discharge is tinted pink or brown for about a week though so it does balance out
She will smell really strongly of blood like the ripe period embarrassing smell
Working in the workshop when she catches a whiff of the 🩸🐱 but she likes feeling primal and will work into the dank night
Engineer eats all chocolate in the based and will probably eat every cookie too
Period rage that rivals Soldier’s
Pyro
Free bleeds and doesn’t practice good hygiene. She won’t change her clothes- including underwear- any differently despite having blood all up in it
Pyro doesn’t have much liquid blood, but a lot of clotting and clumps of tissue
Because of this and a lack of good hygiene she has a worse smell, and it is noticeable to others. Pyro always smells burnt though so it isn’t exactly traceable
Heavier flow, WOULD use super plus tampons
Pyro has worn pads in the past but she dislikes the diaper feel and she never likes the sensory experience of period products
She’s much sleepier on her period and will curl up to nap. If not in her bed then wherever

Drabble-A-Thon 3 Prompt 23
Pairing: Shigadabi
Rating: Explicit
Prompt: From @zehei Alien!Dabi and somnophilia
Contents: Sci-fi AU, Alien!Dabi, Somnophilia, Non-Human Genitalia, Fingering, Cock Warming.
Salkeh are a diminutive, diurnal species. Typically, when they are in their family units, the ones that have not been chosen to be the egg barer take shifts to watch over them in the night, given how many wild creatures roam the forest at night. They have their tough fur, sharp talons, and sharper teeth, but they are small and the larger species can shatter bones with a single bat of their tails or paws, making the guard necessary. But the egg barer, Dabi told him, is supposed to always get a full night of rest. Too little sleep, too much stress, not enough food, all of it could lead to a bad heat, at the end of which the egg could form incorrectly and could shatter inside of the egg layer, leading them to a slow, painful death if they're unlucky or to infertility if they aren't. Dabi had told him that even though his father had been a tyrant, he had been seen as the best of their kind because he had not only kept his mate safe for years when it was only the two of them, but he had been able to have four children successfully. The heats, he learned, were something their bodies forced them into because they had a hard time conceiving at all. Sending their bodies into this heightened state could help ensure more pregnancies. When he went wrong during his first heat, he was given the fruit to stop his cycle as his siblings waited to get old enough for their first ones instead. It had been a surprise when his youngest sibling, Shoto, had gone into his heat before either of them. He had immediately been made the new layer because that meant that he would be extremely fertile. They only had to find him a mate then. And Dabi's father had not wanted to bring shame to his family or make that more difficult by bringing an unwanted second layer around, resulting in Dabi's exile.
Tomura can't say he fully understands an entire culture that is based exclusively on the idea of reproduction, to the point that no matter how sharp and ready to learn Dabi, at least, has shown himself to be, that his people had never built any kind of communal society, but he also can't claim to even really have a solid understanding of any of the vast number of human cultures that exist on Earth and now branch across the stars. It's what Dabi was raised to believe, and even if he now spends his time in the stars with him, there are some things that he still does to make himself feel like he still has his ties to that culture. Once he understood how to use the internet, he was the one who used to find places to spend his heat before they were able to settle down with their house. Even that is a den of sorts, a large treehouse on Hanrion that feels like the mountain cave he had been living in when they'd first met even though it certainly has the creature comforts that Tomura would expect of a home. Dabi is the one who tells Tomura what to bring to the house for their groceries, especially leading up to his heats, trying to make sure that everything will be perfect even though he knows that the calcium pills and other supplements that a Federation doctor had figured out would keep him healthy enough to always lay so long as he was eating a normal amount of calories would protect him. It makes him feel better to know that those parts of who he is and how he was raised are being cared for and Tomura would never resent that.
He just also thinks that it's sweet that Dabi loves his insomnia. He has never been able to sleep well, but the first few times that Dabi had woken, startled, from his dreams and found him awake and watching over him, he had purred so much and crawled right into his lap to kiss him. He stopped startling awake not long after that and Tomura realized that the way his lover can sleep like he's dead to the world is entirely because he had been a layer without sentries before. Now Tomura watches him, and Dabi sleeps so deeply and without fear. He is also allowed to do other things when Dabi is sleeping and he is watching over him, and tonight Tomura has a restlessness under his skin that he wants to take advantage of.
Dabi's fur is soft under his palms and smells like lemongrass as he moves them along his sides. His hips so little, bones falsely delicate beneath his touch. Now he sleeps so deeply that he's practically nothing but a ragdoll as he savors that pliance. His little one is always adorable when he's moaning and whining, his sharp talons over his shoulders and little legs spread wide around his hips, but he loves seeing such a dangerous creature so vulnerable and still beneath him as well. He presses another kiss to the collar he wears around his neck to mimic the bite that his blunt, human teeth could not give the other as he thumbs over the slit between his legs. It doesn't take much before that slit is opening to his touches, his little cock starting to push out, flushing brightly beneath his mottle white and black fur. Tomura only teases him a bit there, feeling the texture of the ridges of bone along his underside before his fingers go down to his cunt. He's already leaking, and his muscles are so giving like this that Tomura is able to sheath two fingers inside of him rather than having to work his baby up to that. He is so small that they can't avoid this part of their coupling. No matter how much Dabi insists that he can take his cock right away, his insides are not as tough as the rest of him, and he does not want to hurt him there. So he takes his time as he works his fingers inside, two, three, four, his muscles soft and warm, squeezing at his fingers tightly as his mate gushes more slick out of his hole as he tries to show how ready he is, not just for more, but to have his cum inside, filling his breeding pouch in anticipation of making an egg.
Tomura makes sure that his lover is properly stretched before he presses inside of him, the squeeze and heat making him feel like his own mind might be the thing that shatters. He had fully intended on fucking his mate until he filled him up, but his baby makes the cutest little chirrup as he settles inside of him. He'll be so sad if he wakes up and finds out that he missed getting filled properly. He is light enough to move easily, and he gathers Dabi's body on top of his own as he turns to lay back against the bed, his cock aching, but held warm and tight in his mate's body. It might test every measure of his control, but he can wait like this for his baby to wake. He knows from how much wetter he's getting and how his prick is still out and pressed tight against their stomachs, that it won't take long for Dabi to wake and demand more. Besides, if he does this, then his little mate will push himself up and try to ride his cock, and there really isn't anything cuter than seeing how he trembles and how his stomach swells as their hips move together.
Thank you so much for reading! If you would like to participate in the event, consider checking out my Ko-Fi here!

so i heard we were doing job competency tier lists? :D
Ardwin (left) and Arkose (right), long ass explanations under cut (bit of 7.2 spoilers for Arkose)
Ardwin:
Grandmaster tier:
THE Warrior of Light and Darkness. She exclusively mained WAR from ARR-Endwalker, and combined with the Ardbert boost upgrading her to WAR^2, she's stupidly overpowered. As a side effect, her out-of-combat healing factor is way higher than normal. No longer technically needs the warrior stone - it's picking new things up from her at this point, instead of the other way around.
Let The Fish Who Thinks He Knows No Fear Look Well Upon Her Face.
Master tier:
Picked up Dark Knight and Reaper in her "emo phase" post-Endwalker, and got really good with both of them. ('Master' status slightly boosted by the fact that both have very few living practitioners.) Still needs the job stones for these, and not quite on par with WAR, but she's comfortable in serious fights with either of them if necessary.
"Picked up" Blacksmith/Armorer and Culinarian during post-ARR. (Quotations because she's fairly sure she had experience from before her amnesia based on how fast she got good at them.) Easily good enough that she could open her own business and make a very solid living on any of these if she was so inclined, though she's happier sticking with adventuring as her day job and keeping these as hobbies.
Skilled:
Viper: More or less went through the canon questline a little bit before Dawntrail. Considers it her 'relaxing vacation' combat job. Likely to swap back to WAR if she expects a very difficult fight, though, as she's not as confident with it yet.
Botanist: Gathers a lot of her own cooking ingredients. Pre-existing axe/scythe combat experience makes her very efficient. Can also whip out her war axe and take down a full-grown tree in a couple of swings.
Leatherworker: Mostly complementary to her BSM/ARM work, plus keeping a lot of her own leather gear in excellent condition.
Carpenter: Initially learned only the basics to complement BSM, but got some additional knowledge as part of a trade with Beatin. She wanted to commission him for some "weapons-grade furniture" (after her and Ardbert accidentally broke two couches and a bedframe and she got sick of trying to find replacements). He accepted in exchange for the crafting materials, a few unrelated rare materials, and - because he had heard of her skills from H'naanza and Brithael - with an additional condition: Ardwin would dedicate a number of hours to the carpenter's guild, to be split between A. giving lessons to the junior guild members on the basics of metalworking, to help them better understand the metal components they dealt with, and B. learning carpentry from the guild under Beatin, because he wanted to see what she would do with it.
Competent:
Monk/pugilist: Picked up the basics from Lyse in Stormblood. Not very high in technical skill, but makes up for it by being big and strong enough to send most people flying with a solid punch.
Red Mage and Sage: The twins taught her the basics, as she figured having at least a bit of magical experience might come in handy, and they were the most tolerable of the caster/healer classes. Still prefers hitting things with big ass blades.
Miner: Not an expert, but it comes in handy for being able to nab rare materials if someone points her to them.
Goldsmith, Weaver: Not interesting enough to her to pursue for their own sake. Only knows enough to supplement BSM/ARM. Also she hates embroidery with a passion, and if you try to make her do it, she will stab you with the needle. (Tiny detail work with very slow progress and no functional purpose that you have to sit completely still for, plus she has a hard time not snapping the thread or bending the needle on accident. Horrible. Evil. The worst. Given the choice between doing embroidery for five hours and eating another Lightwarden, she would seriously consider the Lightwarden.)
Untrained: nothing especially interesting here
Uninterested: Dislikes most casting/healing classes because she hates standing still and not getting to hit things. Dancer, Pictomancer, and Scholar in particular are also just strongly Not Her Style.
Incapable: White Mage: Technically more of a psychological block than a physical block, but after ShB, she would not be comfortable trying to channel that level of light-based magic, to a degree that attempting to do so would likely fail. She might be able to tolerate basic conjury if she was so inclined (which she's not) but not much past that. (Red Mage gets a bit of a pass since it's more self-contained and balanced.)
Arkose
Grandmaster: Nothing yet, mostly because they've been out of Everkeep/Heritage Found for less than a year.
Master:
Reaper: Similarly to Ardwin, partly gets to be in this tier due to the very limited number of living reapers, but they're arguably better than Ardwin in some ways. They share the same voidsent with her since it's their 13th shard, and the two of them trade off the reaper job stone. What pushes Arkose into the Master tier is that they figured out early on how to hold an extended Enshroud with Other (their voidsent partner) to compensate for their neuropathy, which is something that's never been done successfully before (i.e. without the voidsent fully possessing and taking over the reaper; it would, objectively speaking, be a very stupid idea with pretty much any voidsent besides Other, who already has an exceptionally strong level of trust and rapport with Ardwin, and gets along just as well - if not better - with Arkose). The downside is that holding Enshroud for a long period of time tires out Arkose and Other very quickly. They both have to rest afterwards, and they have a hard limit of around 25-30 minutes before they can't keep it up any longer, which also results in Arkose falling asleep/passing out immediately once no longer Enshrouded (equivalently, Other gets pulled back into the job crystal and enters a dormant/resting state). The only reason that this alone doesn't promote them to Grandmaster status is that they originally couldn't do any non-enshrouded combat, and they're still catching up on that front.
Sage: First combat job they picked up, and typically their main one - as the one job that doesn't actually need to hold a weapon, it was the best option for them right out of Everkeep. Alphinaud taught them the basics, and they eventually went through the SGE questline during Ardwin's Super Deluxe Roadtrip/Powerleveling Extravaganza that she took them on. They've already gotten very good by being extremely dedicated, and having Ardwin being more than happy to act as the perfect healing practice dummy. At this point, they're about on par with Alphinaud (slightly lower on technical skill, but slightly higher on raw power output) and comfortable solo healing a light party through an unfamiliar dungeon.
Skilled:
Fisher: Used to love going out on ill-advised fishing trips in Heritage Found before their hands got bad enough to make it impractical. Is still determined to someday catch the fish that ate their fucking phone. Also determined to catch up to Ardwin now that they're able to get back into fishing. Currently busy having a great time being intensely competitive with her about moon fishing.
Competent:
Warrior: Only started learning post-porxie, as they couldn't reliably hang on to a heavy metal axe before then. Grip strength still isn't quite good enough to rely on outside of training, but they've convinced G'raha to show them how to make an aetherial weapon in the meantime so they can get some combat practice. Taking to it like a fish to water, or in this case, like an Arkadios shard to hitting things with an axe.
Pugilist: Got a bit of training as a kid because their mom wanted to make sure they knew some basic self-defense. Yaana has recently been giving them a refresher and teaching them some more.
Scholar: They're helping Sphene with her training since they have experience as a shield-based healer, and she's found teaching Arkose to be a very effective way to refresh her own knowledge, so they now know a couple of arcanist spells and can summon a carbuncle.
Untrained/uninterested: Lots of things they haven't learned at all yet. There's not really anything they are able to learn that they wouldn't be willing to give a fair try, at least.
Incapable:
Black Mage and Red Mage are out because those both have levin-based spells as a major component, and Arkose can't safely channel those without risking a levinsickness relapse and/or the spell going out of control.
Bard, Goldsmith, and Weaver: Fine motor skill issues. Between growing up in iPad Baby City and dealing with some degree of neuropathy for most of their life, Arkose never developed very strong fine motor skills, and likely never will without a lot of occupational therapy. They feel they're able to get by fine as-is, so it's not something they're planning to pursue, but it does rule out playing most musical instruments and goldsmith/weaver levels of fine detail work. (They also share Ardwin's hatred of embroidery. She told them how much it sucked, so naturally they wanted to try it to see if it was actually that bad, and it went about as well as expected.)

Any headcanons as to what Loumand's day to day life was like in Dubai (prior to the Daniel Molloy marriage wrecking ball)?
I feel like Loumand has three distinct phrases: post-Paris, post-SanFran, and pre-Interview.
In the immediate aftermath of SanFran, there seems to have been a lot of walking listlessly through the world. Louis is severely depressed and has the feeling of constantly being on eggshells, even if he doesn't remember why. Armand is the one guiding Louis with a hand around his wrist like a vice, just as afraid but unlike Louis he knows exactly why.
(My headcanon is that post the disaster telepathic zoom call, Lestat tries to track them down, and that's when Armand pushes him off a tower. Or skyscraper)
Louis said his last kill was 2002. Who or why we don't know, but that gives us a date for the end of the turmoil and an idea of when the truce like period between Armand and Louis began.
Dubai is very much home for them-- they have servants (which is basically a Talamasca bat signal, they must have figured they would at least attempt to infiltrate), decorations, specialized accomodations. Dubai would have taken a long time to set up and not be worth it just for a short time, so Dubai must have been their home base.
Armand seems to be the one in charge of the day to day running of things. He's the contact for buyers, for dealers; he is the directing the staff. I've seen so many takes (comedic and otherwise) about Armand being unemployed and I think those people need to rewatch the show 😅. Louis seems to take the CEO position. His word is the final say, he is the one making the wider decisions. I do not doubt he is the one charming the prospective clients. But Armand seems to be doing the legwork (head of household, shows submission by dominating everyone else, master's favorite, etc etc).
To get to the point where he wanted to do the interview again, Louis probably was growing increasingly introspective, and from what we've seen that means spending a lot of his time alone. In the interview, Louis seems to have been withdrawn while Armand was still very heavily revolving around him. So Louis retreats to be on his own, and Armand busies himself with running their company.
I doubt Louis would be the one to suggest hiring people to drink from, so I'm going to guess that was Armand's idea. The staff know they are vampires, so being snack food is probably part of the job description (unless, of course, Armand was trying to keep Louis from fucking the help. Though Assad Zaman said Armand's having orgies with all the Rashids, so maybe that's Armand's job instead). Armand hires and vets the "donors", then it's probably supplemented by animal blood, staff donations, and of course, the weekly feed from Armand.
Louis said "Rashid" has a very regemented routine, and I like to pretend that is Armand's routine as well (even if Armand's got more tasks). In general, I think life in Dubai is very ordered.
Armand needs less sleep, so he gets up first. Does all of the necessary business work, (swims, prays), showers, dresses. Once Louis wakes up, Armand helps him get up. Gets Louis' clothes, helps him dress, puts on his shoes, (the good nurse who kisses Louis' feet).
Louis has less an orderly routine and more of a depressed routine. Floats through life, eats because he's fed, sits with his feet in the rocks and remembers. His sex drive remains but he's disengaged from it. Only when he and Armand fight does he feel that spark of genuine passion again, and while the sex is always good it's those times when Louis remembers he and Armand are in love.
It's definitely Louis' idea to do the interview. Armand tries to change his mind, over and over again. Reminds him about Paris, about the Children of Darkness, about all of the horrific things vampires to do people who break the great laws (which they have already done, repeatedly). Armand knows that if Louis does this, he's going to die, and Armand is not going to be able to prevent it from happening.
But they're trapped in a stalement, slowly decaying in their endless monotony. Maybe Louis just wants people to know his story. Maybe he misses Claudia, and is dreaming of a second chance. Daniel, the 'symbol of their love', is dying, and maybe Louis wants to keep that symbol alive.
(I'm not actually sure whether Louis was planning to turn Daniel or not. It could go either way. If so, then the interview is a test to ensure they are compatible. If not, then Armand's weighing up if Louis' wrath is more important than his life. Either way, Armand's spending the entire time deciding if he's going to kill Daniel or not).
Eventually, Armand caves, probably in an "are you asking or making me" moment. So for the both of them, the interview is essentually the end of their relationship as they know it. Either Daniel will join them, or Louis will die after the book's publication. And Armand is too preoccupied about those two outcomes to worry about what other relationship destroying secrets could be revealed

Symptoms continue to marginally improve.
It's weird to say it, but with any luck my thyroid is a torn up as it ever is, and thus was pretty immediately turning any and all iodine into hormone instead of storing any much at all. Because if that's the case I just have to get past the t3 and t4 already in my system, and my symptoms should improve, like, before it's been another 3-4 months, preferably...
We remember when skipping my usual cream for only 3-4 days resulted in goiter, and I thought that meant I was limiting my iodine to only what my thyroid could use to make a reasonable amount of hormone at once? Well sometimes goiter is also from your immune system tearing apart the gland more, or even from too much iodine. Which is why it's stupid to leave a patient guessing at their own hormone and iodine levels to manage their symptoms instead of giving them something that blocks hormone production and monitoring their levels with lab work.
I did decide that maybe walking 3 hours each there and back for 1-2 appointments just to try to confirm this with lab work that they might refuse to do anyway, for someone who suspects their muscles are breaking down and who can barely move, is maybe not doable. Maybe not advisable if they could do it. But if I am right and I do continue to improve, the lab work won't be necessary.
Even if they confirmed the diagnosis AND prescribed me the thyroid hormone blockers, they only block your body from making new hormone. Guess what else does that? Not eating iodine. You know, the thing they've been forcing me to use to manage my symptoms. I can, actually, do that at home if I have to. How much iodine my body has stored up is mostly what's in question, and my whole problem has always been "body immediately makes as much hormone as it can with any and all iodine and then leaks it directly into my blood/body"... So there's some good chance that controlling iodine intake might not be much less effective than the medication to stop this attack.
My strategy might have been different if my legs fucking worked, but here we are.
And I continue to want to be a big baby about it, despite finally seeing a pattern of consistent improvement, because I have been being tortured this way since last summer and I hate it.
The good news is I think most of the excess vitamin d is out of my system, because after stopping the multi vitamin that seemed to help trigger this, I only tried a few d supplements here or there and I haven't been having dairy in some time now and haven't been having eggs or any of the cheesecake. I seem to be able to tolerate phosphorus now without it triggering bone pain. I do say *seem*.. we'll see if that keeps up.
As I get my thyroid levels under control I'll be able to have reasonable amounts of vitamin d, calcium and phosphorus again without my body using them for evil, and then any fuckery with my bone density can fix itself at a normal rate without me growing any extra bones.
But now I have to be patient, and consistent, and I don't get to eat any meat or cheese or eggs or beans, and do you know how hard it is to have protein without iodine? :(
My muscles :(
My blood iron :(
I have to find the energy and mobility in myself to keep my blood sugar at a reasonable higher level instead of laying here hungry, when I get hungry every 2 hours, have no energy and everything hurts... [my partners live in my head so they can't help]

Fitness Habit of 2025
2025 is all about self improvement for me and putting in more effort towards my physical health and mental health. Here are some things ive been doing to look and feel my best.
• Meals
Ive been on a semi-strict diet. I have completely cut out fast food from my diet. All my meals need to have at least 1 source of protein. Ive also been following this phrase “I count colors not calories.” Ive been implementing this in my meals making sure i have at least 3 different colors on my plate to make for a well balanced meal.
On school days I eat 2 means a day which is lunch that i pack for myself and dinner. I dont count breakfast as a meal because its usually a snack on the go.
On days where im at home and have more time to make myself something to eat then i will eat 3 meals. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
I also portion my food because im in a calorie deficit. The images below is an example of how much I eat.
(Not my pictures)

• Snacks & Sweets
I am a chronic snacker and I have the biggest sweet tooth. Instead of eating a tub of ice cream I’ve been replaced sweets for fruit. Sometimes that isn’t enough for me, so I buy sweets that are low calorie.
Low sugar pudding is great. Ive even made my own yogurt bites, frozen chocolate covered strawberries. Yogurt bowls, etc.. my sister bakes cookies so sometimes i do have some but i try to limit myself to 1 a day.
• Workouts
I get my body moving everyday. Doesn’t have to be super intense workouts focus on slow & controlled. Some activities that I do are walking, pilates, and yoga.
Days that I don’t do pilates I speed walk 30min to 1hour on the treadmill after dinner increasing the speed as I go (I don’t run or jog because I have asthma)
ALWAYS STRETCH BEFORE WORKING OUT. I aim for yoga once a day either after my workout or before bed.
My fitness goals are to lose fat & tone up my body. In other words flattening my stomach and growing my 🍑. Im also working on flexibility & mobility.

• Drinks
I dont consume “empty calories” i limited soda and super sugary drinks, energy drinks, and coffee. I substitute these for seltzer water, natural fruit juice, tea, and kombucha. Still drinking lotsss of water of course :)
Its totally fine to have a cherry cola once in a while but drinking it everyday will only keep you bloated
Kombucha has been my go-to replacement for soda. It’s carbonated like one, taste great, and amazing for your health.
(Im going to make a separate post on what to drink instead of soda & juice)
• Vitamins
This is a non negotiable for me. As someone who is low iron, vitamin D deficient, don’t forget constantly getting sick. Ive always struggled to consume all my vitamins in my regular diet so I found taking supplements helpful.
For vitamin intake I take the OLLY women’s multivitamin gummy every single day. I’ve seen a BIG difference in my energy levels, my skin, and hair.
I also take supplements for my 🐱. Im super big on hygiene and my worst fear is smelling bad. I take cranberry gummies everyday with some other brands as well. I believe that these types of supplements are absolutely necessary in every woman’s daily routine.
(I sometimes take prenatal vitamins. They’re not only for pregnancy it’s also a great source of vitamins for women who are not pregnant. Studies show it helps with hair growth as well as glowing skin)

So yellow solar radiation gives Kryptonians extraordinary powers and red solar radiation puts them on par power wise as an average human, but they still evolved to gain nutrients from sunlight wherever they are right? Even if the red sun didn't give them super abilities, it was giving them the needed vitamins to live. As such food, water, regular sleep, regular exercise, etc, I imagine those things were more optional for them. We know they CAN eat and sleep. Clark does it whenever he wants, so clearly they have all the necessary organs, it's just that it's not needed to thrive and survive.
That must mean that they had a very different relationship with food, drink, sleep, and exercise than we do.
That kinda fascinates me.
Do you think eating and drinking in general was like some kind of treat for them? Like they only consumed food at special occasions? What would their recipes be like if they never needed to worry about nutritional intake?
What about sleep or exercise? Were those just hobbies? Maybe some Kryptonians were born with a disability that made absorbing sunlight more difficult for them and they needed to supplement consuming food and drink, sleeping, or exercise.
I dunno, It just kinda fascinates me what kind of culture would spring up among a people for whom, sleeping, eating, drinking, and exercise was a choice they could opt into or out of instead of it being necessary.

RED VALLEY: SEASON 1 EPISODE 2"The Golden Bullet"
[transcript]
SCENE 1
THE ABRUPT SWITCH OF A TAPE PLAYER RUNNING. A CRACKLING, ANCIENT RECORDING BEGINS TO PLAY
FEMALE VOICE: Aubrey Wood, log number 58. The infusions have begun in earnest now. Yogi and Pooh aren't feeling too chipper. Yogi's only been out of the medibay for 48 hours as it is, I'm confident he'll be back in again by tonight. Pooh's problems are as much down to his attitude as anything else. He ripped out his IV this morning and wouldn't eat. You'd be forgiven for thinking he doesn't want to be here. All the others seem fine, responding well. Not enough time's passed to observe any particular cause for these two reactions compared to the others. And honestly not a big enough pool to draw any worthwhile conclusions anyway. Maybe it's because we didn't give the other guys such stupid names.
TAPE PLAYER CLICKS OFF.
THE KITCHEN, WARREN'S HOME. CLOSE SOUNDS OF WASHING UP.
KAREN: (OFF) What names did the other guys get?
WARREN: (CLOSE) Brown, Black, Grizzly and Polar.
KAREN: She's right, they are less stupid.
WARREN: Indeed.
KAREN: How much more is there?
WARREN: Haven't listened to it all but not a lot. Tape's mostly blank. Maybe they were for dictation, someone transcribes the log then wipes the tape. Maybe they used a different tape for each log, no matter how short. Maybe she lost it.
KAREN: Maybe it was taken.
WARREN: Or maybe it was taken.
KAREN: This is exciting! So what is it, some animal testing thing? That might explain why its a big secret. Can't pour shampoo in a rabbit's eyes these days.
WARREN: You sound sad about that.
KAREN: You know how brittle my hair is. I need good shampoo.
WARREN LAUGHS.
KAREN: Have you spoken to Doug about this? Do you think he'd be okay with you following some eco-warrior who's sending what I assume is confidential material to your home address?
WARREN: I haven't mentioned it yet.
KAREN: Because this guy Gordon told you not to?
WARREN: No, because it's...twenty past 7 in the morning and I'm scrubbing fish skin off a frying pan. I'll speak to him about it later. Gordon's just an old fruit. The whole company is crawling with this kind of guy, little mole men who never see daylight and want to be in the X-Files.
KAREN: Do you want to be in the X-Files?
WARREN: Are you kidding, I'm married to a fucking X-File
KAREN: Ahhhhh!
WARREN: Ahhhhhhhhhh -
CUT.
SCENE 2
TAPE PLAYER BEGINS.
AUBREY WOOD: Dr Thomas wants to keep going with the dietary supplements. I'm less inclined to continue just because they taste so bad, none of them are enjoying it and like I said, Pooh is just refusing now, even when I gave him something he liked instead he wouldn't touch it. Dr Thomas thinks it'll help the infusion process along and I don't know, maybe it would. It shouldn't be necessary though, and if we don't stick to the regimen we laid out then how are we going to prove the infusion's efficacy. I suppose we're both coming from a place of compassion. I want to bring their spirits up, send them in with as positive a state of mind as we can. Ben wants to give them the best physiological shot possible. Bryony will decide.
TAPE PLAYER CUTS.
CANTEEN, DAYTIME. THE BUSY SOUNDS OF LUNCH HOUR.
CASHIER: That's £4.20 please.
WARREN: £4.20? How is that, it's usually, like 3 quid something.
CASHIER: Vegetables are 50p per serving so that a pound...chips are £1 a serving so that's £3…
WARREN: How is that £3?
CASHIER: That's 2 servings of chips.
WARREN: That's 1 serving of chips.
CASHIER: And the pie is £1.20.
WARREN: But that's only 1 serving of chips.
CASHIER: It's 2 sir.
WARREN: How many chips quantifies a serving? Is there a specific number?
CASHIER: I'll take £4.
WARREN: So the price is negotiable now? Is the chip count negotiable too?
CASHIER: Sir…
CUT.
OFFICE, DAYTIME. WARREN APPROACHES A DESK IN A BUSY OFFICE.
WARREN: Hello.
JEMMA: Hi.
WARREN: I'm sorry...this is my desk.
JEMMA: Oh Warren! Hi, I'm Jemma.
WARREN: Hi, hi. Um. So is something wrong with your desk, or...
JEMMA: No, the hotdesking starts today.
WARREN: What hotdesking?
JEMMA: It was in the email from Doug.
WARREN: I haven't seen that email.
JEMMA: Oh. That's awkward! I've taken your desk!
WARREN: Yeah. I...don't know where to sit now. They're all taken, aren't they?
AWKWARD PAUSE
JEMMA: Hmm. I assumed you're meant to be on the road today, that's why there's nothing free.
WARREN: Okay, cool, cool. I guess its fine, if its just today.
JEMMA: Oh no, its every Thursday.
WARREN: What?
JEMMA: It's...every Thursday now. Because of Neil and Doug...
WARREN HAS TAKEN HIS PHONE FROM HIS POCKET, RINGING OUDLY.
WARREN: Sorry.
JEMMA: You should check the email.
WARREN: I will, I will. Hello?
GORDON:: (D) Did you listen to it?
WARREN: Hello?
GORDON: (D) Did you listen to the tape?
WARREN: Mr Porlock?
GORDON: (D) No, I'm the other guy you met yesterday who put his balls on the line sending recordings of highly sensitive material to your house.
WARREN: Of course, of course.
GORDON: (D) Is this a bad time, you seem to have a big boyvoice on.
WARREN IS MOVING QUICKLY THROUGH THE OFFICE AND THROUGH A DOOR TO A QUIET, ECHOEY STAIRWELL.
WARREN: No, now is fine.
GORDON: (D) Did you listen to it?
WARREN: I've listened to it.
GORDON: (D) And?
WARREN: It's really interesting, yes.
GORDON: (D) Interesting?
WARREN: Yes.
PAUSE. GORDON SIGHS.
GORDON: (D) Look, I'm going to be in the car park of the north build at 7pm tonight. I've got a gold colour Vauxhall Astra. Well it's more coppery but I like to say its gold. I call it the Golden Bullet. It doesn't go very fast.
WARREN: Thank you for telling me that but I-
GORDON: (D) Meet me in the car, but I recommend you get to the end of the tape first as you obviously haven't. Then we can discuss how 'interesting' it is.
WARREN: I actually have a lot of other things I-
GORDON HANGS UP.
WARREN: Motherfu-
CUT.
SCENE 3
WARREN, IN HIS CAR.
WARREN: So yeah, it's good, this guy seems to have some background on the whole thing, so...yeah.
DOUG: (D) Seems to?
WARREN: Yeah. He says he used to work for the Seed Vault in some capacity. I think he may have been let go to be honest, he seems a bit bitter about the whole thing.
DOUG: (D) Well it would be useful to find someone who was involved with the project at a managerial level. These guys, they rename, repurpose, restaff these things all the time. If it wins them their slice of the budget they will do whatever they have to to stay in business.
WARREN: Yeah, of course. I will, this guy is just interesting and I thought it would be good to get to know as much about...you know, whatever this is, before I went in all guns blazing.
DOUG: (D) All guns blazing.
WARREN: Yeah.
DOUG: (D) Did you speak to Clive Schill yet?
WARREN: Uh, no. Nope, I tried him, haven't had a response yet.
DOUG: (D) I heard he's the man of the hour in R&D. I'm sure he'd be able to help.
WARREN: I'm sure he can, yep, just want to work this guy Gordon, I like to be thorough. Don't worry.
DOUG: (D) I'm not worried, buddy. You just keep me posted, alright? And ask for help when you need it, okay? That's what I'm here for.
WARREN: You got it. Oh, and Doug?
DOUG: (D) Yeah?
WARREN: Have I lost my desk on Thursdays?
DOUG: (D) Yeah, Jemma needs it while Neil is restructuring. You saw that in the email?
WARREN: Of course, of course. I think I just got the date wrong, or something.
DOUG: (D) Right.
WARREN: Not to worry. I'll be on the road.
DOUG: (D) Okay then.
WARREN: Right, I'll let you go. And Doug, thank you. Again.
DOUG: (D) Don't be soft.
WARREN: Sure thing.
DOUG: (D) Find the money!
THEY BOTH LAUGH.
CUT.
THE TAPE PLAYER BEGINS AGAIN.
AUBREY WOOD: It's 3.43am. Yogi is dead. He was back in the medibay for a few hours and we'd ceased the infusion six, no, seven hours ago. But he arrested just after midnight. Bryony and Ben were already there, I arrived as soon as I heard the alarm. We did everything right, everything we could, but we couldn't get him back. I'm going to sleep.
CLICK AS THE TAPE STOPS, THEN IMMEDIATELY RESUMES.
AUBREY WOOD: Dr Thomas, Dr Halbech and I all concur that Yogi died of a massive hypercoagulation event. If he had had a single embolism maybe he would've survived the arrest and we could have...there was no way we could've stopped it happening. Yogi had no genetic disposition that would invite this kind of scenario, or he never would've made it on to the program. So it must've been a reaction to the cryoprotectant. Yogi was on the alpha course with Pooh and Brown so we've paused their infusions while Bryony recalibrates. This still isn't going to bump the schedule apparently. Teddy Bears Picnic goes live on Monday and I have never felt stupider using that codename than I do this morning.
CUT.
SCENE 4
WARREN IS ON THE PHONE
VOICE: If I could just take the account number, I can help you with that sir.
WARREN: I gave you that just now.
VOICE: I...don't think you did.
WARREN: Not you, the robot person asked me to type it in before I got put through to you.
VOICE: That's your policy number, not your account number.
WARREN: How is that different
VOICE: Your policy number is for your individual policy, the account refers to your department, Accounts.
WARREN: You want a number for the account for Accounts.
VOICE: Yes.
WARREN: Look, I don't have that number, I just have the letter you sent which tells me you're lowering my pension contribution when I requested that I increase it.
VOICE: Yes, with the account number I can access all your policy information and see where we are with-
WARREN: If you need the account number to see my policy information then what is the point of a policy number?
VOICE: Sir...
CUT.
THE CANTEEN.
WARREN: Just the curry and the yoghurt thanks.
CASHIER: Could you lift the poppadom please?
WARREN: Sorry?
CASHIER: Can I see under the poppadom.
WARREN: What do you think is under the poppadom?
CASHIER: I'd like to check please.
WARREN: It's curry. There's curry under the poppadom.
CASHIER: Will you lift it?
WARREN: No. I'm going to draw the line here. I'm not going to lift the poppadom.
CASHIER: Sir, there's a line. I can't charge until I've seen your items and I need to confirm what is underneath the poppadom.
WARREN: There are 5 chips under the poppadom.
CASHIER: I'm sorry, I couldn't hear that?
WARREN: There are 5 chips under the poppadom.
THERE IS SOME QUIET GIGGLING AND A GASP.
CASHIER: Well that's another pound isn't it.
WARREN: It sure is
WARREN LUMPS CHANGE ON TO THE COUNTER.
CASHIER: Thank you.
WARREN: Thank you.
CASHIER: Have a great day.
WARREN: You have a great day.
CASHIER: I will try.
WARREN: Swell. Namaste.
CUT.
DIFFERENT PHONE CALL.
CLIVE: No no no, if you want to talk about anything like crop storage, anything in the Agric sector, you need to go back to before Overhead acquired all those patents. You need to go back to Wheelhouse.
WARREN: Wheelhouse?
CLIVE: Wheelhouse. That was the company that owned all the farming contracts. They had satellite operations around the country, around the world. When we absorbed Wheelhouse we took all those over.
WARREN: Right.
CLIVE: Overhead doesn't just buy patents, man. We buy every other company that buys patents. We own ideas, thats the point.
WARREN: Yeah, I get it.
CLIVE: Yeah, you do! Doug told me you were the next big thing.
WARREN: I don't know about that. Clive...Do you know anything about cryo...cryonic storage?
CLIVE: Hmm. You mean cryogenics?
WARREN: No that's actually the study of...I can't remember, actually. Anything cryo-ey really.
CLIVE: We own a bunch of patents for, like, athletic treatments, like cryosaunas for rich footballers, Olympians, shit like that, I don't know. What's that got to do with your seed vault thing?
WARREN: Well if it was a vault for storing crops they'd have to be frozen, wouldn't they.
CLIVE: Oh right. Yeah, that makes sense.
WARREN: So you don't?CLIVE: Don't what?
WARREN: Know anyone, any teams that work in cryo stuff.
MUFFLED SOUNDS ON THE LINE.
WARREN: Clive?
CLIVE: Yeah?
WARREN: Everything alright?
CLIVE: Yeah man. Look I've got to bounce, good talking with you. Doug was right, you're the next big thing! Let's get a drink or something soon.
WARREN: Oh right, yeah, let's-
CLIVE: I'll email you. Peace.
HANGS UP.
CUT.
SCENE 5
GORDON'S CAR.RAINFALL OUTSIDE. DOOR OPENS, THE RAIN LOUDER, SPLASHING IN PUDDLES NEARBY. WARREN GETS IN, SHUTS THE DOOR.
GORDON: Are you recording?
WARREN: Jesus, I just got in. Aren't you recording anyway?
WARREN RUMMAGES IN A BAG.
GORDON: Of course I am. But you need a copy for your own records.
WARREN: Can't I just have a copy of yours?
GORDON: Now you're being ridiculous.
WARREN PLACES HIS TAPE PLAYER ON THE DASH AND CLICKS IT ON.
WARREN: There. Done. Continue.
GORDON: How did you enjoy the tape?
WARREN: Some horrible things happening to some things with code names that are all bears for some reason.
GORDON: Some things.
WARREN: So you're saying they're people, Yogi and Pooh and Brown Bear and whatever.
GORDON: Well if they were bears, they wouldn't be very good code names.
WARREN: I suppose not.
GORDON: Kind of weird though isn't it. Wood talking about compassion, about doing what's right. But she doesn't treat them like people. They might as well be animals. Pumping them up with their synthetic shit and sending them to their doom.
WARREN: What are the infusions, what's she giving them?
GORDON: I don't know exactly. But we're past the nutritional boosting phase, the training, the fitness, the aptitude tests, the gene studies. We're getting to the real ham of this sandwich, Warren. These are cryoprotectant infusions.
WARREN: But what is that?
GORDON: Getting your subjects in the best shape of their lives is only the first part. You want someone to survive the greatest endurance test humankind has ever known, you're going to want to make sure they're ripped like Jesus before they go through it. But none of that matters if you freeze them so fucking hard ice crystals form all over their body and they end up shredded in the more traditional sense of the word. Then you'll basically just be defrosting a big red slush puppy. So you gradually swap out their regular blood for a synthetic, that doesn't just do all your regular blood jobs but is also crammed with lots of goodies derived from all kinds of crazy shit.
WARREN: Crazy shit infusions.
GORDON: Look, I wasn't there and I'm not a cryo...ologist. But the company's been trying to develop and refine life-extending drugs for years. If you want to follow the money, there is an R&D black fucking hole in this company when it comes to human longevity projects. They're taking DNA from amphibians, those little frogs who get frozen in lakes all winter and survive to seethe spring, cold-climate insects, there's the, uh, rotten egg gas, uh-
WARREN: What?
GORDON: Hydrogen sulphide, they used that as a fucking chemical weapon in WW1, terrifically dangerous, but apparently its loaded with all this crap that protects your arteries and whatever. The stuff in red wine thats meant to be good for you, fucking olive oil, who knows. Anyway they fill their boys, Yogi and BooBoo and whoever, with bags of this stuff, teddy bears fucking picnic indeed, so they're as ready as they'll ever be when they go in the freezer. That's why they're all named after bears, man. They're going into hibernation.
PAUSE. WARREN LISTENS TO THE RAIN.
WARREN: So I have a lot of questions.
GORDON: Are they all about accounting?
WARREN: Not exclusively-
GORDON: Come on, man! I am talking to you about illegal experimentation into human cryonic preservation! If Icould show you the receipts I would but this is what I have.
WARREN: You have to concede that what this is, is two men sat in the rain in a 1998 Vauxhall Astra.
GORDON: I get it, you need more. I'm doing this as gradually as I can because if I showed you the whole jigsaw you head would pop off your skinny fucking shoulders. Here is your next puzzle piece.
GLOVE BOX OPENS AND CLOSES.
WARREN: Another tape.
GORDON: Another tape.
WARREN: This, uh, this won't fit in my dictaphone.
GORDON: No it won't Mr. Godby, but luckily you're sitting in a 1998 Vauxhall Astra. What it lacks in air conditioning it makes up for in a top notch cassette player.
GORDON PUTS THE TAPE IN THE PLAYER. IT BURSTS TO LIFE.

2025Jun16
This is probably going to sound all over the place. My mind currently won't shut up partially because I ingested half of an edible. I'm also on a butt ton of caffeine and sugar. Too much input. Trying to slow myself down but it's currently not working. Makes me believe I should've streamed instead. That might have made me tired. In any event, I'll soon fall asleep one way or the other.
Today was a good day. I've officially been in my new apartment for 10 days now. I'm still spending money a little carelessly. Going to have to fix that. I still have things I need to purchase like probiotics and fruits. Luckily, I found a grocery store with poverty prices that I'm going to frequent whenever I currently run out of food. At least for the short term until I get my finances back on trackAlso going to have to start taking my supplements. I bought them for several reasons. I've been on a major health kick recently. Up until this point I would often joke about getting colon cancer within the next 15 years and that instead of chemo I'd get euthanized. I've had ulcerative colitis for 12 years now. Its largely been untreated. I'm not even sure how I survived. Maybe because I didn't eat much in general? In any event, I realize that this isn't what I truly want and that I need to do things to counteract this. I've been taking my health a little more seriously as a result. I'm looking into doctors and therapists and for the time being I have my aunt and uncle willing to provide funds so that I can actually see them. I've had health insurance and have barely used it as a result of not being able to provide a co-pay. Moving out is a necessary change as it gives me the freedom to do what I need without my family keeping me down financially. I won't have to pay for my brothers cigarettes, beer, pain pills, gas, or weed. Same for my mom though she only uses the latter. I'm also choosing to keep myself away from them for a bit. I still try to talk to my mom everyday. I don't wish to speak to my brother though. Nor my aunt pam since they are both batshit crazy and textbook narcissists. They're going to run out of money and it's going to present a problem at the first of the month. At least they'll have a place to stay since I'm paying their rent using my mom and my aunt pam's money. Its whats necessary for me to stay on my own. However, its ultimately up to them to make that decision. The decision to get along.
My brother and my aunt are very much the same person. A result of this is that they're not going to get along with one another. They are both overly indulgent with my aunt choosing sweets as a vice as opposed to my brother who uses pain pills and alcohol. Its not wonder he's alive though he's been chasing a headstone that will eventually come for him in the next 15-20 years. Most likely sooner. Similar to my mother who has been waiting to pass since her job as a parent ceased with me. However that has extended to my brother since he's a near 50 year old manchild. She's not far gone. She's probably not even close. Her short term memory and hearing are gone. That could be a result of age or of continuous and excessive usage of marijuana. In any event, I have to go see them tomorrow to give my aunt pam back medicine she gave me (it was supposed to soothe my anxiety to help me sleep and didn't work so I only took one), collect her portion of the rent, and give her a gift card she received for her birthday from my aunt mary. The same aunt who's funding my co-pays. Most likely my aunt Pam will talk about me helping her find a way to move out or to help my brother find a way to move out. I don't have control over any of that. Conversely, she doesn't have any control of her money. She spends way too much. If she's willing to save, then and only then will I help her. However, most likely she'll be stuck on a one-year lease with my mom and brother. I got to use that time effectively. I also have to remember that if my brother or aunt get them all evicted then I can't help them any more. I can only help my mom by placing her in a respite. I will then get a restraining order on my brother and if necessary my aunt. Its sad but I've already elected to not attend my mothers funeral. I'd organize the details with my brother Raymond then shortly excommunicate myself. No social media for my family to find me. No phone numbers. Moving to a new state or country. The works. THATS how badly I wish to remove myself from the situation. That might be what I have to do one day so I'll have to work in order to ensure that I can make it happen one day. Unfortunately, that is just the start.
I have to pay a few debts off. I incurred a debt to help me move and to pay for some auto stuff I did while uninsured. It's something I can do by doordashing part-time and I think with enough discipline I can get it done by September. I just have to make sure that I can get there first. First things first, I have to actually start doordashing consistently. I made $40 in two hours last week. Have to do that everyday unfortunately. At least two though maybe three. I'm more so just worried about my car. It needs an oil change, battery, new tire, freon. My brother, the one I wish to excommunicate myself, usually takes care of my car with a buddy he made while we lived together at the last apartment (it wasn't by choice and I'll talk about it later in this post). I can find ways to do these things myself; and I will. I suppose after doordashing (I'm choosing to start again Wednesday since I have an exam on Tuesday) for a few days I could have enough for both by the time I get paid on Saturday (or Sunday). From there, its a car payment that I'm behind on which I hope I can get after driving 3 hours a day (maybe more) for a week straight going into the next week. After that, then I can focus on my debt. The worst thing is starting a habit and I have to use my time wisely in regards to cooking, streaming, and working while also choosing to study. I know, I'm balancing a lot. I figure that if I can do this and have it finished after three months then I can pretty much do anything. I mean, I'm still going to doordash but its not going to be for three hours a day (or more). It'll be pushed back to two hours so I can focus on other things in my life.
One of those things being school. Aside from my physical and mental health, I'm also putting a focus towards my studies. I'll be finishing a degree this semester but I plan on taking some courses to raise my gpa. From there, transfer. I'm hoping to transfer to either UNF or UCF. Finish some degrees there. Then, hopefully distinguish myself enough to get a job. However, this will all be possiblw by establishing good habits. Especially good study habits. I got a B in a class last semester. I'd like at least a B in this class but I'm also a bit realistic. Its definitely possible and maybe even an A. I'm only behind in applying time daily to my studies and I often get distracted. Psychiatry might reveal ADD, AdHD, or Autism (Aspeargers). Only one way to find out. I plan on making appointments for them soon as well though, again, probably on Wednesday so that I can focus on my exam. I'm not too worried about the exam. I can definitely prepare more but I also plan on studying my butt off all day tomorrow and the day before. That with the study time I've already done should be helpful. From then on, I plan on studying a bit more seriously at work and use that time effectively. I'm thankful that my job is very lax in that I can do homework during the job itself. I need to use that to my advantage. Homework and studying.
I have a few hobbies. One important one ties to my health. Cooking. I've cooked quite a bit this week. Three steaks, a tuna rice bowl, ramen, and chicken fajita tacos. I want to start meal prepping. However, my set up is currently in efficient in that I need more storage containers. My aunt Nancy is waiting on those to ship and I'll have to pick them up some time next week. That and spend time with her since I did say that I'd do that. I'm thinking next Monday for an hour. That way I can do Sunday night dinner with my mom. From then on, I'll go back to limiting myself to only Sunday dinners and taking my mom out once I at least take care of the auto stuff. I'll probably spend time an hour a month with my aunt Nancy moving forward though I don't know if I can guarantee that. Throwing myself into the fire a bit with my aunt pam and brother but she's worth it at least. Even though I resent her (more on that later). Anyways, I still have some leftovers and my job also feeds me at work from time to time. Have a bowl of rice for another tuna bowl. At least a couple tacos left though i need to sautee some more vegetables. A cheese pizza that I have pepperoni for funny enough (bought pepperoni for sandwich wraps). I got three watermelon slices and I'll probably by canned fruits from now one since I'm not really supposed to eat fruits and vegetables anyways given my condition. I think I can get away with it at nights (after dinner) before work while im streaming. I usually stream high anyways (at least for the time being) and taking those edibles has helped keep my condition tolerable. Though, its about time I stop using it as a bandaid. I plan on quitting weed for a short time after I run out of my current bag. I want to get a new job. A new job means that I'll need to pass a drug test. I reckon I have about less than 10 whole gummys left. Not much. Soon I'll be able to apply for something better. Maybe around the time I pay my auto stuff off in September.
Another hobby of mine is streaming. I want to stream at the same time everyday. I'm just not sure how thats possible currently. I've always had issues with my sleep. Working graveyard shift doesn't help. Especially since I want to stream with the rest of the night owl degens. Just have to figure out how to do this smartly. Going to a doctor or psychiatrist may also give me a prescription sleep aid. We'll see. The only times I can't stream are during work and on tuesdays and thursday from 730-10pm. I have those afternoons off however. I could stream everyday from 3-7 or something like that. Only problem is that gets in front of doordashing. I want to doordash for three hours a day. Though that may seem weird to do during major traffic times on the weekdays. I've also considered mornings but I would also have to combat early morning traffic. As a result, I'm thinking of not streaming on tuesdays and thursdays until this semester ends in August. I think thats the best option. In addition, stream 8 hours on Sunday and Monday during my work hours. Get freon in my car so its actually enjoyable to doordash and I won't have to bare the heat as much. I suppose that comes this week. Currently with streaming, I've done three days in a row. Haven't pulled any large numbers since I deleted my discord and I don't have advertise myself (deleted social media altogether; I'll discuss why later). I'm eventually going to have to get back on that. We'll see. For now, its building small habits once more. Consistency, scheduling, et cetera. I took the day off to enjoy with my friends. I don't want to take a day off moving forward. I do want to spend time with my friends. Gotta learn how I'm going to organize that. I'm thinking either Sunday or Monday. Then go into streaming. We'll see how that boils down since I'm also seeing a few in person hopefully later this month. Possibly even this coming weekend. Its my buddy Juwuans birthday some time this month and my friend Otto is visiting from Virginia. I want to see them both but I'm not going to add stress to the matter. If it happens, it happens. Anyways, back to streaming. I will also add stuff here and there to my twitch profile. Make other content on sites I wish to make content on like YouTube and TikTok. As I work up the ability to do stuff on other platforms I think I'll be ready to do the basic social media for advertising and such. Though, I have to learn how again. I'm not focusing on streaming or content creation as a main source of income. If it becomes that then that's awesome but for now I have to take baby steps again.
I willingly delete social media on occasion. Its a problem, I know. It's self-destructive and its creepy as if I'm trying to hide something. The only thing I'm trying to hide is myself. At least the aspects I think are bad. I don't know. I've always had an issue with how the public perceives me. I think this feeling heightened after I got my disease because of what I do as a result of a condition I don't have control of at times. I do agree that I can get control of it. I probably should've when I was younger. I was so into the idea of living ky own life and being independent that I've made questionable decisions along the way. Part of it is to get rid out if the toxic environment my family provides. I don't wish to have a relationship with my brother due to the way he acts while drinking. If he didn't drink I think we could get along. He trauma dumps professionally when he gets drunk enough. Let alone whatever sensation he's feeling while high on weed, alcohol, and pain pills. The worst part is that he has forced me into a year of being his therapist while I can't even take care of myself. He started heavily drinking while living with his then girlfriend Gina. I suppose he complained about looking after her kid as Gina also complained about things I was doing in the house. Not working. Eating some of the abundance of food she provided since she was a horder who couponed everything. All the while helping her with her college math homework. I'm not sure if thats the only reason. Gina supposedly cheated on him. Aborted a fetus as my brother didn't suspect it was his. Though this is all speculative and not important to the story. In any event, they got back together for a few months and broke off a few short months after mom and i moved into an apartment. Though it was really her as I was attending school in a dorm at the time. He let Gina ruin our relationship and he was sent to jail for supposedly spitting on a cop. Got out, violated probation, and went back in. He's held that against me. Amongst other things. All to be manipulative. All to have control. Throughout all that, I decided to bare with him imposing himself on me and mom during our time together in my last apartment. Long story short, I moved back to Florida from Texas where I was living for four years after failing college the first time and burning a bridge witn my aunt Mary (who was paying for my college) because I went psychotic after nearly wanting to kill myself. My antidepressant stopped working for me at the time. I was trying to juggle a job and school for the first time. Did it during summer when 16 week classes are pushed to 6-8 weeks. Recipe for disaster. After living in Florida for a year my mom and brother got evicted and moved to Florida thinking her family was going to help her. They weren't going to help her while she's helping my brother. They were homeless for a few months until I put my mom in a respite until I could get an apartment for the two of us all the while my brother was wanting to go back to texas to work. He fucked that job up and came back guising himself as returning some of moms stuff. False. He needed a place to stay as he burned the bridge with both his job and my uncle Darold after taking him into his home for four months. During that time, Jason has broken his car twice, nearly ran my car to the ground, forced my to call the cops on him four times, and is now on the verge of pain everyday because he needs back surgery. This is on top of everything else both physically and mentally wrong with him and I don't care what happens to him currently. I resent him for this horrible last year and when we do talk on occasion (since he withholds my moms phone) I have gotten to the point of hanging up on him. I'm not going to talk to him until he makes better decisions for himself and my family since he insists himself upon my mom. I resent my mom for a similar reason. She neglected me as a child because of my brother. She neglected me as a child because of her depression.
(Tumblr forced me to leave the last paragraph since it was too long) I'm only forgiving of her because she has needed electro shock therapy to spark the serotonin in her brain. Not to mention the possibility that she has parkinsons which also leads to the depletion of dopamine in her head. My family has always pronounced her as depressed even as a little girl. She's suicidal as well but like me she's chickenshit. I understand all of that which is why I forgive her. I just wished she paid more attention to me as a child because I essentially had to teach myself. Thankfully, I learmed of what not to do thanks to my brothers influence. I'm not addicted to any drug. I'm somewhat responsible with my money (not as of late but in general and especially in comparison to my family), and I have ambition. Though I think I'm so ambitious because I have an inadequacy complex. It could also be the ADHD. It would make sense. Cooking, writing, coding, streaming, content creation, and now I'm currently interested in robots. One thing at a time. I know what my goals are and what I need to do. It starts with one movement. First, finish the first exam. During work, study and do homework. Doordash to pay my debts. Stream when I can. Then meal prep as I get more supplies for food storage. From there, branch off into other things all the while managing the finances in two households, purting more emphasus and attention on my mental and physical health, getting my car fixed and my car stuff done, eventually finding a new job, continuing my studies, slowly integrating into content on YouTube and TikTok (already have pictures of my food on TikTok; currently thinking of other ideas for short form content) and then finally get back into streaming with a full time schedule (if possible given my job). Also have to think of time I can set aside for YouTube videos and what kinds of videos I want to make. Already thought about Vlogs (I need a better camera first), Pokemon playthroughs, Podcasts, reviews, potentially stuff for my book, et cetera. I want to be a bit more proud with the quality of work I put into YouTube than I do on TikTok. Just don't know how just yet. It'll come to me eventually.
In any event, I think this is everything off my chest for the time being. Life might sound hard for me right now. It is and I am dreading it a bit. However, I have a feeling I will be alright. I survived through all of the unnecessary bullshit I have dealt with from my brother this past year. I'm quite confident I can do anything after that (LOL). Though in all seriousness I will survive. I have my experiences to guide me. I have a good support network through other members if my family and from friends. It'll be rough these next few months but it'll guaranteed get better by November at least. I'll have my car fully paid off by then. That gives me $300 more income which can go towards my loan or my car stuff if necessary. Additionally, I also get paid time and half twice these coming weeks with Juneteenth and the Fourth of July. I get paid three times again in October (iirc). Aside from that, department incentives. I have other things I could talk about (namely my book) though I think its best to discuss that another time. I'm sure I made the eyeballs of anyone who chose to read this bleed and vomit already. I do want to write more on Tumblr. I'm just not sure how to approach it yet. Eventually, an idea will come to me and I'll share with you all then in how I wish to use this app. Until then, thank you for enjoying my ramble

Popular Diets In contemporary society, one of the most visible issues facing Americans, and indeed, most of the developed world, is obesity and the link between diet and health. Medical doctors, scholars, researchers are all in agreement that there is a complete link between what we eat and drink, and the consequences to our overall health. One need only look in the newspaper, magazines, grocery store aisles, or pop-up ads to see thousands of ads for diet pills, diet aids, etc. -- one need only look at the increasing demographic of vitamin and supplement stores and offerings to see that American's are rabid for something to bring quick results and better health (Fumento, 1998). Are there negatives to healthful eating? Certainly none that are medical -- but, in our society of fast food, it is more expensive to eat right, fresh vegetables, hormone free meat, low sugar beverages all are a bit more expensive that the high-carbohydrate, fast foods so popular (Robbins, 1998). Eating right involves two things: a balanced approach to nutrition and the proper mindset to utilize the proper foods in the proper amount. The balanced approach to nutrition does not require depriving oneself of everything one likes -- it simply indicates that we eat in moderation, and, when possible, try to include more fresh fruits and vegetables, limit processed foods and sugars, eat whole foods, limit alcohol, and most especially limit sugary drinks and candies with only processed empty calories and very little nutritional value. For example, on a given day Americans drink 12 gallons of soft drinks per week, totaling vast amounts of sugar -- is this healthful? (Valentine, 2002). Many even call this America's "other drinking problem," and enough soft drinks are produced for every person in the United States to have 52 gallons per year. ("Strong Evidence Links Soft Drink Consumption to Obesity." Second, humans need a balance between protein, fats and carbohydrates. There are many "quick fix" diets that promise rapid weight loss by eating all grapefruit, no carbohydrates, all carbohydrates, etc. The truth of the matter is that a balanced, limited portion menu, with limited amounts of alcohol is the most nutritious and healthful way of eating. Fats are necessary in the human body to lubricate cells, improve blood health, ease inflammation, and stabilize the heart. Carbohydrates help cell metabolism, provide numerous trace minerals and vitamins, and are essential for proper blood chemistry. Proteins are necessary to fuel amino acids and are essential for bone growth, neurological health, and to fuel the body. In addition, there are hundreds of minerals, vitamins, and substances that at smaller levels, contribute to the overall health of the body ("The Nutrition Source"). For most Americans, the perception of nutrition is a diet. In fact, most Americans do believe they are overweight, and almost 67% of Americans are on a diet 2-3 times per year. 62% of adults and 34% of children are overweight or obese, and yet, if any of the diets worked, why would people continually need to be on them? Instead, Americans are placed with diet after diet, quick fix after quick fix, all for naught. Instead, a change in behavior patterns and a balance approach to diet, including at least 90 of aerobic exercise per week will do more for people in the long run than all the fad diets in the world (Hellmich, 2005). The table below represents the major diets over the past few decades that have some medical and longitudinal veracity (e.g. they are not fad diets, e.g. "grapefruit diet"). Of course, each new issue of a woman's magazine purports to have the right answer with the right diet, which only shows America's obsession with losing weight and bears the question -- if these new diets worked so well, why would we need new ones? Table 1 -- Overview of Major Diet Programs Premise Basic Tenet Strengths Weaknesses Misc. Adkins Strict Carb restriction Phases that eliminate most carbs Effective when followed Lack of carbs not healthy in long-term dieting; uses fats (butter, etc.) not great for heart health. Men tend to lose faster than women; fairly strict during initial phases. HGC Combination caloric restriction and hormone supplement Resets body systems Clinically proven Requires Rx; numerous knock offs that are fraudulent Still controversial; 500 calorie diet dangerous if not monitored appropriately. Jenny Craig Caloric restriction Lifestyle and "how to eat planning" Effective, addresses holistic person Very expensive, must belong to their program One on one counseling -- very effective for some but must be prepared for large investment NutriSystem Caloric restriction Tries to balance diet Balanced, small portions; reasonable premise Encourages using their products and participating in their seminars. Price varies; food (less fresh) may be delivered through mail. Ornish Caloric restriction Focuses on whole grains and vegetables - no meat Effective and has been subjected to clinical trials; excellent for heart health Strict, menus lack variety Need only book; might be more lifestyle change Slim-Fast Caloric restriction Meal replacement with their Shake product Does provide proper levels of RDA nutrients No control over non-replaced meal; must use their product; high cost, high drop-out rate Can certainly work depending on commitment by individual More short-term solution South Beach Carb restriction Modified Atkins; differentiates types of carbs Wide variety of foods available; well balanced Does not address exercise of lifestyle changes Proper selection of foods helps stabilize blood sugar Weight Watchers Caloric restriction Appropriate balance of carbs, proteins, etc. Balanced, supplements with vegetables, fruits; reasonable premise Encourages using their products and participating in their seminars -- belonging to a group. $20 to join, weekly dues; sells foods; point system still controversial; costs add up. Skin care routine (updated)
My skin inflammation has significantly reduced. I have not taken an anti-histamine in 3 weeks and prednisone in 4! I've used some benadryl gel and steroid cream here and there. I had a flare 2 weeks ago all over my hands and neck because I reacted to my eucrisa cream. But I haven't been using that.
I've been using Zoryve and cica creams on my hands and neck. Thankfully my face is clear and I haven't flared in a long time. Some redness here and there but I don't mind as long as it gets better.
The only 2 changes I made were adding in fish oil as a supplement and avoiding nightshades. This includes my multivitamin and herbal teas that have ashwagandha. No peppers, no tomatoes, no potatoes. I'm getting blood work to check my omega-3 levels.
I want to determine what the ultimate culprit was - an omega-3 deficiency or nightshades. I am wondering if an omega-3 deficiency could cause food sensitivities because you're more prone to inflammation. But I'm not sure. I'm also not sure if I have a longterm sensitivity and if I'm sensitive to all nightshades. But I absolutely have flared before after eating peppers and even tomatoes I think. Paprika hidden in foods have caused my hands to flare bad and my face to develop small scratches by my cheeks and nose that turned into a full flare all over my face, making me look like a tomato.
Supplementing with omega-3 longterm is a great idea. However I will figure the nightshade issue. I am most certainly sensitive to them and it's good to know this.
I'm happy my face is better. I did want to update my skin care routine here
Internal care:
Hydration - drinking 2 L of water minimum daily.
Drinking green tea instead of coffee.
Multivitamin (all vitamins and minerals such as zinc, iron, silica, and sulfur are great for skin).
Omega-3 fatty acids
Gut health
Eating a low sugar anti-inflammatory diet rich in healthy fats and proteins
Stress relief and good sleep
Avoiding sources of oxidative stress such as the Sun (not always though because you get vitamin D from Sun exposure), ultraprocessed food and sugar, etc...
External care:
Cleanse face at night daily. I use the URIAGE Bariederm Cleansing Cica-Gel. I don't cleanse in the morning and just rinse my face with water.
Vitamin C serum daily in the morning. I use Naturium Vitamin C Complex Face Serum.
Moisturize morning and night. I like to use something thick and hydrating like COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Cream.
Sunscreen. I wear it whenever I'm outdoors. I use ETUDE Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sun Milk SPF50+ / PA++++.
Retinol/tretinoin. I have both a retinol and a prescription tretinoin. However I've been taking a break from it so my skin can heal.
Lip balm. I like the Aritaum lip mask.
I don't use an eye cream nor exfoliant. However for fun I like to get facials. I might also start doing clay and peel off and sheet masks because they are fun and soothing, despite not being a necessary product in my routine. I used to use a lot of masks in my early 20s and they were fun but not essential like cleansing, vitamin C and sunscreen.
I just did a strawberry collagen sheet mask. They're just something fun I can do like a pedicure/hair coloring/massage/facial.
I know there is a genetic component to skin care and anti-aging, and my parents have aged slowly. Especially my mom. Other habits that can really help with anti-aging is exercise, avoiding drugs/alcohol/smoking, and eating an anti-inflammatory nutrient-dense diet low in sugar and ultraprocessed junk. Proper and sufficient hydration and good sleep and stress management help as well.
When I was in my early 20s I was more interested in beauty and skin/hair/nail/body care. Now I'm more interested in health and wellness. So while I do have aesthetic goals, I am more focused on those from a health POV. For example I take care of my skin by following healthy habits addressing internal health and using some skin care products that can help rather than a bunch of things I may not need. And I'll do masks for fun and relaxation rather as something I need to have "perfect skin". For my body I achieve my goals by eating foods I like and doing exercises I enjoy rather than following a diet or workout routine that I don't like and am only doing it for aesthetic goals. I care way more about health and wellness than looks and beauty now. Looks don't have to drastically decline with age, but healthy habits can slow down aging in some people.
While I do care more about health now, I do want to have a vibrant and fun style. Something fresh and youthful yet health-centered. I think it's possible. Having thick long highlighted hair, a healthy skin glow, straight white teeth, bright eyes, bright warm inviting colors (nails, lips, clothes), and a healthy lean and toned body. I think this is all attainable with a health POV in mind rather than just an aesthetic POV in mind.

Myths and Facts About Dietitians and Healthy Eating
When it comes to health and nutrition, many people rely on myths rather than facts. From misleading diet trends to misconceptions about dietitians, misinformation is everywhere. Consulting a professional dietitian in Chandigarh can help you separate myths from facts and adopt a healthier lifestyle. In this blog, we will debunk some of the most common myths about dietitians and healthy eating.
Myth #1: Dietitians Only Help with Weight Loss
Fact: Dietitians Offer Holistic Health Guidance
Many people believe that dietitians only focus on weight loss, but that’s not true. A dietitian in Chandigarh helps with various health conditions, including diabetes, PCOS, high cholesterol, digestive disorders, and overall wellness. They design personalized diet plans for every individual’s unique needs.
Myth #2: Healthy Eating Means Giving Up Your Favorite Foods
Fact: A Balanced Diet Includes All Foods in Moderation
One of the biggest misconceptions is that a healthy diet requires eliminating your favorite foods. In reality, dietitians promote moderation over restriction. You don’t have to completely give up sweets or fried foods; instead, portion control and healthier cooking methods can help maintain balance.
Myth #3: Dietitians Prescribe Expensive and Complicated Meal Plans
Fact: Dietitians Focus on Simple and Sustainable Eating Habits
A professional dietitian in Chandigarh understands that people have different lifestyles, budgets, and food preferences. They create easy-to-follow diet plans using locally available ingredients. The focus is on sustainable, long-term health rather than expensive superfoods.
Myth #4: Carbs Are Bad for Your Health
Fact: Carbohydrates Are Essential for Energy
Many believe that carbs should be avoided for weight loss. However, not all carbs are bad. Whole grains like brown rice, oats, and quinoa provide essential nutrients and sustained energy. Dietitians recommend choosing the right type of carbs rather than eliminating them entirely.
Myth #5: Skipping Meals Helps in Weight Loss
Fact: Skipping Meals Slows Down Metabolism
Many people think that skipping meals leads to faster weight loss, but it actually has the opposite effect. When you skip meals, your metabolism slows down, leading to overeating later. A dietitian in Chandigarh can guide you on eating at regular intervals to maintain energy levels and prevent cravings.
Myth #6: All Fats Are Unhealthy
Fact: Healthy Fats Are Essential for the Body
Fats have a bad reputation, but not all fats are harmful. Healthy fats found in avocados, nuts, seeds, and olive oil support brain function and heart health. Dietitians help differentiate between good fats and bad fats, ensuring a balanced intake for overall wellness.
Myth #7: Detox Diets Are Necessary for Cleansing the Body
Fact: The Body Naturally Detoxifies Itself
Detox diets and juice cleanses claim to remove toxins from the body, but the liver and kidneys naturally detoxify your system. Instead of relying on extreme detox plans, dietitians recommend drinking plenty of water, eating fiber-rich foods, and maintaining a balanced diet to support the body's natural detox process.
Myth #8: Eating Late at Night Causes Weight Gain
Fact: Total Caloric Intake Matters More Than Timing
Many people believe that eating after 8 PM leads to weight gain. However, what matters most is your total daily calorie intake. If you eat a balanced diet and stay within your calorie needs, late-night eating won’t necessarily lead to weight gain. A dietitian in Chandigarh can help create a meal schedule that suits your lifestyle.
Myth #9: Supplements Are Better Than Natural Foods
Fact: Whole Foods Provide Essential Nutrients Naturally
While supplements can be helpful in some cases, they should never replace whole foods. Natural foods provide fiber, antioxidants, and essential nutrients that supplements alone cannot offer. Dietitians always prioritize a well-rounded diet before considering supplementation.
Myth #10: A One-Size-Fits-All Diet Works for Everyone
Fact: Every Individual Has Unique Nutritional Needs
There is no single "best" diet that works for everyone. Each person’s body, metabolism, lifestyle, and health goals are different. A personalized diet plan created by a qualified dietitian in Chandigarh ensures that your nutritional needs are met effectively.
Conclusion
Misinformation about nutrition can lead to unhealthy choices. Consulting a professional dietitian in Chandigarh can help you make informed decisions based on scientific facts rather than myths. Whether you’re looking for weight management, disease prevention, or overall wellness, a dietitian provides expert guidance for a healthier, more balanced life.

Dr. Rajesh Malhotra - Bone Health Facts: Breaking Myths, Not Bones
Bones are the silent warriors of our body—they give us structure, protect our organs, and keep us moving. Yet, most of us don’t think about them until a fracture or pain occurs. Worse, myths surrounding bone health often lead to poor choices that weaken our bones over time.
Dr. Rajesh Malhotra, a renowned orthopedic expert, is here to bust some of the most common myths and share essential tips for lifelong bone strength.
Myth 1: Only Elderly People Need to Worry About Bone Health
Fact: Concerns about bone health are not limited to elderly persons; they can arise at any time in life. Although many people think that brittle bones and osteoporosis are issues of aging, bone health begins much earlier. After reaching their maximum density in our late 20s, our bones begin to progressively lose mass. Weak bones in later life might result from unhealthy behaviors, poor food, and inactivity in youth. Early bone development dramatically lowers the chance of osteoporosis and fractures in later life. Advice: To maintain healthy bones for life, start early and concentrate on a diet and exercise that are good for bones!
Myth 2: Drinking Milk is Enough for Strong Bones
Fact: While milk is a great source of calcium, it’s not the only solution.
Many people believe that just drinking milk will give them strong bones. However, calcium alone is not enough—yur body also needs vitamin D to absorb calcium effectively.
Bone-boosting foods: Calcium-rich foods: Dairy, green leafy vegetables (spinach, kale), nuts, seeds, and fish. Vitamin D sources: Sunlight, eggs, fatty fish, and fortified foods.
Pro Tip: Make sure you get both calcium & vitamin D through a balanced diet, not just milk!
Myth 3: Osteoporosis is Only a Concern for Women
Fact: Men are also at risk! Indeed, women are more likely to develop osteoporosis as a result of hormonal changes following menopause. One in five men over 50 may, however, get a fracture brought on by osteoporosis. Men's risk factors: Growing Older Insufficient testosterone Drinking and smoking A poor diet and a sedentary way of life A tip Maintaining an active lifestyle, eating a healthy diet, and obtaining frequent examinations if at risk are other ways that men can prioritize bone health.
Myth 4: Exercise Increases the Risk of Bone Fractures
Fact: Men are also at risk!
Indeed, women are more likely to develop osteoporosis as a result of hormonal changes following menopause. One in five men over 50 may, however, get a fracture brought on by osteoporosis.
Men's risk factors:
Growing Older
Insufficient testosterone
Drinking and smoking
A poor diet and a sedentary way of life
A tip Maintaining an active lifestyle, eating a healthy diet, and obtaining frequent examinations if at risk are other ways that men can prioritize bone health.
Myth 5: Fractures Only Happen Due to Accidents
Fact: Weak bones can break from minor impacts.
Most people think fractures happen only due to severe accidents or falls. However, in people with osteoporosis, even a small fall, bump, or in extreme cases, a sneeze can cause a bone to break!
Pro Tip: If we have risk factors for osteoporosis (family history, aging, hormonal issues), get a bone density test early to prevent fractures before they happen.
Myth 6: If My Bones Don’t Hurt, They Must Be Healthy
Fact: Osteoporosis is a silent disease—it doesn’t cause pain until a fracture occurs.
Unlike joint problems like arthritis, osteoporosis often has no symptoms until it’s too late. By the time you feel pain, significant bone loss may have already happened.
Tip: Get regular checkups and monitor calcium & vitamin D levels, especially if we’re at risk!
Myth 7: Calcium Supplements Are Always Safe & Necessary
Fact: Too much calcium can be harmful.
While calcium is crucial, excessive supplements without medical supervision can cause kidney stones, heart problems, and poor absorption of other minerals.
What to do instead? Get calcium from food first (dairy, greens, nuts, fish). Only take supplements if your doctor prescribes them.
Tip: Balance is key—don’t overdo it with supplements unless necessary!
Conclusion: Build Strong Bones for a Stronger Future
Breaking myths is just as important as preventing fractures. With awareness, early action, and healthy habits, we can maintain strong bones and improve our overall well-being.
As Dr. Rajesh Malhotra emphasizes: "Bone health isn’t just about avoiding fractures—it’s about a lifetime of strength, mobility, and independence."
Start taking care of your bones today—because strong bones build a strong future!

(The hellish one week is over.)
(Thanks to Sakuma-senpai and the Light Music Club’s efforts… I think our training has been progressing smoothly.)
(We’ve been practising individually up until today. And starting this week, we’ll be training as a unit to prepare for the “S1” a week from now.)
(It’ll be the best opportunity to defeat the Student Council since the general public, aka swing voters, will be there at the “S1”. I can’t let this chance slip by.)
(An opportunity like this may never come by again. We should devote everything we have to defeating them.)
(What I’m truly worried about is whether Sakuma-senpai’s training was effective or not… Quite frankly, I’m only half-convinced.)
(If I practise with my comrades in “Trickstar” from today onwards, will I be able to feel that I’ve “grown”?)
(We, “Trickstar”, are still a new unit that’s only just been formed. Therefore, it is necessary for all of us to practise being in sync as a unit.)
(A unit cannot function with just elegance and eccentricity. It would be much more advantageous to fight in a team as compared to fighting individually.)
(If things go well, our true strength will multiply and we’ll be able to demonstrate a better performance than usual.)
(From this week on, our true strength won’t be adding up during the training, but will be multiplying instead.)
(However, multiplying would mean nothing if our base numbers are low. No matter what you multiply against 0, it’ll still end up as 0.)
(In order to counter that, our individual numbers need to increase. That’s why we’ve been training on our own for the past week.)
(It’s logical. I’ve been looking forward to after school, where we’d all train together as a unit.)
(I’ve gotten used to the individual training now. I should continue working hard to polish my skills.)
(There’s not much time until the “S1”. We should give up on sleep and dedicate our days off to practising – we need to keep improving.)
(Defeating an overwhelming enemy, such as the Student Council… It’s just as Sakuma-senpai had said – it’s but a dream within another dream.)
(I’ll do my best.)
(I’ve even asked Grandma to record a rakugo[1] performance on my music player.)
(It’ll be useful for my “smiling practice”. I can also use it as a reference when we fight “AKATSUKI”, as they use traditional performing arts as their weapon of choice.)
Hokuto: (Thank you, Grandma. I’ll definitely attain victory with my friends.)
(…Thinking back, Grandma was the one who always gave me what I needed the most.)
(She’ll still shower me with love even if I’m not an "excellent idol".)
(For that, I’m grateful. Knowing that she’s supporting me gives me an enormous amount of encouragement.)
(I can relax both my mind and body. It’s probably what I need to obtain. I’ll continue on this path – with my life on the line.)
(All the while, having faith that a spectacular view will be awaiting us at the end of the difficult journey.)

Ahaha. Your expressions have gotten softer recently, Hidaka-kun~
I think it’s much better than before!
Hokuto: Hm. It’s because I’ve been eating nothing but sour foods under the twins’ instructions. It seems my body’s muscles have softened, as well as my facial muscles.
Would you like some vinegared octopus and kelp?
Makoto: I think you should also eat other foods aside from just sour foods, though. You need a balanced diet… *munch munch* ♪
Hokuto: What about yourself, Yuuki? You’ve been eating excessively recently. I remember you didn’t eat much and would take a lot of supplements in the past.
Makoto: Yeah. Oogami-kun said to me, “Eat meat – meat, y’hear! Eat lots of it! Eat until your stomach bursts!”, you know~?
I’m doing a lot of tough exercises for my training, so I get super hungry afterwards. Maybe I’ve gained a little weight?
Hokuto: Hm. You must’ve built up on more muscle. You seem more reliable than before.
Makoto: You think so? I’m happy to hear that. Back when I was a gravure model, I had to keep an eye on my body shape, though.
This is just the minimum. I’d like to gain enough stamina so that I won’t pass out halfway through a dreamfest ♪
There’s no point if I turn into a musclehead, of course. I haven’t been neglecting what I’m good at, either.
I’ve been researching and collecting information about our decisive battle, “S1”, too.
