A pillow princess, sometimes also called a stone bottom, is a woman (usually considered femme) who doesn't touch their partner much or even at all during sexual intimacy, preferring mostly to receive the attention from them. This can be for a number of reasons from trauma to literally just preference.

But I'm not really a bottom. I don't have any interest in being penetrated at all. But I also very much prefer to receive than to give when it comes to sexual intimacy. I've been thinking a lot lately about Delirium and the way she speaks. She talks around a concept, never hitting it head on but glancing off through a series of metaphors and related concepts that explain things far better than wording them straight might. It's very relatable, and I think that's why I like her; that's how I think.

To me, the world isn't composed of precisely defined concepts but a series of interconnected existences which can all, ultimately, be related to each other. I also experience things in the incredibly specific manner Delirium seems to. I have sensitivities largely untethered from aversions, meaning that while I don't often find things deeply unpleasant or intolerable, I still experience them with an unusual specificity which often defies concise explanation. The best way I can convey certain feelings or experiences is through other feelings, experiences, and concepts to weave together a series of approximations that through their similar and dissimilar traits narrow down to what I'm trying to describe. Delirium does this too, and it's treated as a part of her that's no better or worse than any other. There are those that don't understand and those that do, and those that at least try to are awarded for their efforts because finally and most importantly, she genuinely has something to say. Her speech patterns are deceptively rambling because she takes a long time to say what she means to say, while simultaneously saying exactly it.

Delirium is neurodivergent coded in such a cathartic way because of this. I feel her frustration and joy because I know what it's like to be the person trying to explain something that has no words to assign, asking all of the time if there's a word for what she's feeling as a rhetorical and genuine question so that she can explain something without explaining it and call into question why we feel everything must be precisely laid in the place of as few words as possible. She is incredibly intelligent, but loses track of all of what's happening in a far more obvious way than most because there's just so much to keep track of, which is also very relatable as a neurodivergent person. Without putting labels on the experience, she perfectly captures it. I just... I like Delirium quite a lot, and think she'd be very good at post-modern literature.

you made a post on your twitter about being the "original host" which is. a plural term of course but ALSO i'd like to say that the idea of there being an "original" is veeery misleading and not actually possible in DID/OSDD

the reason DID/OSDD exists at all is because a child's identity was unable to fully form in their developmental years, so the identity splits off and fractures into several parts necessary to keep the child safe. because of this, there can be no "original host" because there was never an identity formed that could be considered the "core," in a way, at all. it gives off the idea that there was one set identity that split off others later on in life, which isnt how DID/OSDD works in terms of alter formation

also, the disorder can only be developed in your early formative years, so its mostly unheard of for a system to go through life with a single part only to split off later on. your brain splits off alters in response to stressors or traumatic experiences, and so when the disorder is formed there would have to have been a fracture from the beginning where your identity wasnt able to come together to form a single one. multiple alters can be "original," in a sense, but there is not one sole original

i suppose that other alters could have simply been integrated and so they arent a part of your system anymore (leaving you as the "original host"), but thats probably not my place to explore and its all a bit too complicated for a tumblr ask

there are parts that have been around longer than all the other parts and there are parts that identify with/as the body or the head of the system, buuuut i just wanted to share that tidbit of information because misinformation can be very harmful when it comes to healthy plurality!!

in any case, dont let this cause you to spiral into more self-doubt because — surprise! DID/OSDD is supposed to be hard to understand or identify within yourself. its a trauma disorder formed to make you as functional as possible, so generally the disorder tries very hard to hide your other parts from you as to protect you from those traumas. being confused is a major part of plurality, and most long-term hosts do have the misconception of being "original" because there was no reason to think otherwise.

its also fully possible that you have been the host for the majority (or entirety) of your life, so dont get me wrong! im just trying to share that the idea of an "original" alter isnt possible.

regardless of whether or not you're plural, i wish you the best in exploring yourself and the way that your brain functions. you're doing great, truly!

So do you see how the old couple literally were never greedy, they didn't demand this as they were under pecharunts influence? there was no abuse??? and they did NOT get its friends killed either!! They didn't even know!!

Look how at the end of the DLC everyone is no longer under the effects and they have no idea how they got there. They only remember the moments before the mochi. So the real kicker isn't "oh how tragic pecharunt was in an abusive family and its friends were killed cus of their greed", oh no the kicker is:

Pecharunt was nothing but a child with an evil power that it clearly didn't know how to use, or didn't even intend for it to be used for such evil. It did what it thought was right, for the love of the only two people that it had known, only for it to lead to it's own downfall and the downfall of three other Pokemon who succumbed to the poison. Furthermore, Pecharunt never came home. Those old couple woke up not having a clue where Pecharunt, the pokemon they loved as a son, had gone off to and they died not knowing (this is an ancient tale after all). Hell, Pecharunt probably doesn't even know they're dead either. Nobody wins.

Although Branch grows up less isolated, he still has a hard time making friends. His relationship with JD ends up being a weird mix of friends and brothers with some parental - mostly prevalent when he’s young. JD does encourage him to find friends his own age.

Branch isn’t quite as safety cautious. He is but it can be difficult to tell since he can and will do some truly wild feats. What you don’t generally see is him thinking of outcomes and trying to prepare himself best for any of them.

JD’s instincts and subconscious memories/habits help a lot with Branch but he worries he isn’t the same person he was before and that is a disappointment to Branch. And then he’s not sure who Branch prefers if he is entirely different. He’s got a bit of an identity crisis but it’s mostly about what Branch thinks of him rather than what he himself thinks.

JD never becomes good with remembering long run time. Appointments, days and weeks are fine in his mind but the concept of long months and years are ones he frequently forgets.

It took JD a while not to constantly long for his memory back. He still does once in a while but not as much. He very much fears losing his memory again and often tries to write anything he can down in the form of journals or notes.

Branch does get disappointed when it appears Rhonda doesn’t “fix” his colors. It bothers him less as time goes on but in reality, he does get more colorful over time as he enjoys company more and more and allows himself to be happier.

The bunker is a bit smaller in this au, as JD and Branch dont spend a ton of time constantly on it. But it is made, to an extent. They mostly prefer Rhonda due to her ability to grant a quick escape but the bunker does serve well for rations, provisions and storage, as well as living areas.

JD teaches Branch a ton of things that appear dangerous and not exactly age appropriate. What people don’t see is the precautions he takes and the baby steps and learning beforehand. Branch is just a fast learner. The two of them learn new things together too.

This does lead to Branch having ton of confidence in his own abilities and the tasks he can do.

Branch is VERY protective of Floyd’s vest and JD’s goggles. He does not like taking them off, even when he’s young and they don’t fit quite yet.

Both JD and Branch get a bit protective of one another. No one is particularly mean (except for Creek but that’s just cause he’s generally annoying) but sometimes the ex band bros are considered a little strange. They sometimes take offense for one another.

Every single someone asked if Branch was his son, JD has thought about it the possibility in the back of his mind. It drives him crazy sometimes. Branch told him they were brothers but what if they weren’t??

Pretty much only responds to JD and hey goggles even though he gave his goggles to Branch.

Branch calls JD, Puzzle sometimes. JD has a million nicknames for Branch and not one of them is Bitty B.

JD gets headaches/migraines sometimes. He and Branch don’t know if it’s his brain trying to suppress memories or what.

It takes Branch years to grow into a confidence where he is okay with leaving Pop Village to go camping with JD. When Branch and Poppy start dating, JD goes camping by himself usually for a weekend to give them some space. He and Poppy get along well. (I will always support JD Poppy friendship)

When did people start head cannoning Regulus as trans? I just dont understand how people came to that conclusion?

I’m also just very uneducated on the trans community and I know that and just don’t really know where to get reliable information about the whole community and the people in it.

Idk in my opinion I just almost feel like people made Regulus trans to meet a diversity quota. I also feel like it kind of takes away from the fact that James could be genuinely attracted to biological males? Like maybe people are still so attached to Jily that they can’t truly let go of it even in his other ship?

Sorry I just really would like to see the point of view from someone who is part of the trans community (correct me if I’m wrong on that please) and also enjoys and writes trans Regulus. It really just makes me sad that I don’t read so many fanfics that I’m sure are absolutely beautiful just because I’m a little put off by Regulus (or even Remus) being trans.

Okay, so to answer your first question, the first fic in ao3 tagged with trans! Regulus Black is dated in March 2016, so 8 years ago. (I see a Jegulus fic tagged in 2005, for comparison).

As far as people coming to the conclusion of reg being trans, I think it's just people seeing themselves in the character, or enjoying the headcanon. It's not like...deciding it IS canon. If that makes sense?

For information on the community, I'm not sure what you mean. Like information in being trans? If you have questions on that, I'm more than willing to answer them! I can point you to reliable websites or try to give you my own experience.

I don't think it's 'meeting a diversity quota.' I think it's that Harry Potter is genuinely super NOT diverse. Canonically, most characters are straight, cis, and white. And fanfiction writers like to write what they want and what they relate to. Many fanfic writers know trans people/are trans, so it's natural to include trans people in their works. It's not meeting a quota, it's just emulating their lives.

And as far as James's attraction..sure, he can be attracted to people with any genitals. But I think you're missing the point that trans Regulus IS a boy. Your body doesn't equal your gender. So when James is attracted to him, he is attracted to a boy. He is, therefore, gay (or at least queer) by being attracted to Regulus. Very gently, seeing trans Regulus as a substitution for Lily because they might have similar bodies is a bit transphobic. Though body parts can be important to some people, putting Regulus and Lily on the same plane is a bit off. (Also, many people headcanon James as pansexual, meaning he can be attracted to any gender, so he doesn't care what gender people are.) You ARE right in saying that some people probably do think this way though. But it's not okay.

As far as not liking the headcanon of trans!Regulus or trans!Remus or whoever...I don't think that's a bad thing IN THEORY. For example, I don't see Harry as trans. There are some Drarry fics which have trans!Harry and I don't read them, because that's not my headcanon. Fanfics are for your enjoyment, and you don't have to force yourself to read them if they don't share your specific headcanons. I would just think about WHY you're not reading these fics. If you just see these characters as cis, then that's fine! But if it's because you might need more education of transness and what it means to be trans, then maybe take the time to educate yourself and go from there, you know?
