Nadia’s Mehndi
A fluffy little drabble of my apprentice doing Nadia’s henna. I wanted it to come off naturally, but I’m not in the mood to edit it right now 😭😭, so I’ll just hope and pray it comes off nicely and there are no errors. 💕🙏
The Countess spared no expense treating her lover with the loveliest of delicacies as gifts. Alas, her lover was a simple woman who distinctly cherished the one thing money could not buy — her time.
Nadia was a symbol of grace and resilience. She often reminded Taduki of gorgeous sculptures of women, the epitome of beauty. Though she found that, regardless of what she looked like, she would love her all the same, which is why she wanted to decorate her with a special treatment.
She presented her love with a modest, cone-shaped tube of Henna in the palace gardens.
“Oh, my! I haven’t seen this for quite some time.” Nadia smiled. She sighed and rubbed her temple, “My sisters used to draw on themselves for hours. It was at its worst when they insisted on collaborating on my body… But I do have fonder memories of this, my dear.”
Taduki cut off the end of the tube with a pocket knife and placed the tip of the henna on her love’s arm. She hummed and asked, “Would you tell me?”
Nadia watched her fluffed up curly mess of hair move around while she worked. She let out a giggle and said, “Sure.” She had it done during her wedding with Count Lucio. Yes, it was customary in Prakra, but she also saw it as a testament to the first step in her new life.
She stopped herself. “Darling?”
“Mhm?”
“Where did you learn to do Mehndi? During your travels?”
“Yeah”, Taduki replied. “We did performances and stuff, but not everyone was looking for a show. It actually started because I saw this super bored kid and I offered to draw something on him. It spiraled into a service after that.” She laughed.
Nadia planted a sneaky kiss on her forehead. Taduki looked up and grinned, then asked suddenly, “Say, Nadi? Why do you call it Mehndi?”
Nadia subconsciously played with her lover’s coily black hair in thought. After a moment, she raised an eyebrow. “Is that not what it’s called?”
“I call it henna”, Taduki returned to her work. “I’ve heard people call it Mehndi before, but I have no idea why! It’s just so different.” She squinted.
Nadia sat back on the edge of the fountain, careful not to move her arm. She looked at the sky in thought and inquired, “Henna comes from the henna plant” — she stopped herself. “Wait, no. It’s the other way around! Henna is the plant itself.”
“Yeah, and then Mehndi is the brown stuff.”
“Oh, goodness. Well, when you put it like that—.” Nadia hid a disgraceful snort behind her hand.
Taduki shoved her and laughed. “Do you remember—.” She interrupted herself with a cackle and a wheeze. Nadia gently held her arm, a big grin still stretched over her face, and laughed, “Stop that! You’ll hurt yourself!” Taduki held her stomach and hiccuped. She wearily fanned herself and continued, “The dinner at Vlastomil’s…”
Nadia let out a raucous laugh and clasped her hands together. “Yes! Yes, I do!” She nodded.
“Ewww!”, Taduki recalled herself saying out loud. She wheezed and rolled onto the grass, still shaking with laughter. Nadia followed her and fanned herself off before holding her. She waited for her lover to calm down and catch her breath, but by the time she did, she must have been half-conscious. She took a deep breath in and out. “Never let me tell a joke ever again, please”, she groaned.
Nadia smiled and pat her stomach. She hummed, “I’d miss you.”
Taduki wearily looked into her eyes and hummed back, “Me too.”
Nadia’s shoulders shook and she mouthed, “What?”, before shaking her head and leaving it be. She sighed dreamily and stared into her eyes.
The grass made for a soft cushion and their eyes were starting to droop. Their bed was neatly made in the palace, but they drifted further and further into their sleep, for it did not matter where they were or that one’s mehndi was smeared. They were safe, and they were together.

My wife, with the button eyes
Parings: Coraline au!HongjoongxBlackreader
Summary: Hongjoong has another wife? Who has button eyes?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hongjoong sighed as he put the last box into the bed room. He walks over to the bed sitting down on it. He looked around the spacious room. It was bigger than the last room he and his wife shared.
After being laid off from his job two years ago, hongjoong decided on teaching guitar lessons to kids. His small business was going well until his wife’s job forced them to move.
She was the bread winner. Hongjoong tried to find another job but his real passion was music and that’s what he wanted to do. When they left their old city hongjoong left his business to his good friend seonghwa. He knew it was in good hands.
“Hey. I know you didn’t want to leave everything behind…I’m sorry” Yn, his wife says walking into the room to sit on the bed
“I didn’t but I left everything to be with you. I’ll follow you anywhere Yn” he says laying his head on top of hers
“Are you happy?” Yn asks
“Of course love, I’m happy where you are” he says kissing his forehead
“Are you sure?” Yn asks
“Positive” he says smiling
“Maybe you can start another business here” Yn says
“I could, but maybe I should finally do something with that engineering degree” he says
“What ever you do, I support you” Yn says making him smile
“I appreciate it. I love you” he says
“I love you too” Yn says leaving the room
Hongjoong sighed opening the box he brought in. It was all their picture frames and nic nacks
He smiled at the picture. It was your wedding picture. He healed you bridal style while you two shared a kiss. You were so beautiful
After putting the picture frame on the bedside table he opens another box. It had a bunch of the living room stuff.
He grabbed the box and walked down the stairs to the living room. As he put the things on the table and fireplace he noticed a tiny door.
“Hey, baby! Where does this door go?” Hongjoong asks
“Door? What door?” Yn asks from the kitchen
“Come look”
Yn soon walks into the room spotting the door. She raises a brow before shrugging
“I’m not sure, it’s probably attic space” Yn says shrugging
“Isn’t the attic usually upstairs? And this is like a closet” He asks making Yn shrug
“I’ve got a paper to type” she mumbles walking away. Hongjoong sighs before looking back at the door
He wouldn’t say his marriage was rocky but he did wish Yn payed more attention to him. She was always so busy with work the attention she gave was always short lived. He didn’t really complain because she was the one bringing in the money and taking care of the both of them.
“I fount the key! Wanna open it?” Yn asks hongjoong
“Why not” he says smiling. He watched as she cut the wallpaper with the key before sticking it into the small key hole unlocking it. Pulling it open the couple both frowned at the brick wall
“It’s nothing but brick” hongjoong says with a sigh
“But have covered it up when they divided up the house” Yn says closing it and locking it back
“Yeah” hongjoong says agreeing
He gets up from the floor and continues to put away all the decorations in the living room
A week later
Hongjoong sat at the kitchen table eating from his bowl of oatmeal. He sighed. He was tired of oatmeal. Yn always put her own spin on oatmeal. It was never brand or plain. She was always in such a rush to get to work she just made something quick. He was just tired of eating every morning.
“If this presentation goes right we can go out for breakfast” Yn says putting a cup of orange juice next to him
“Go out? Why don’t we cook breakfast” hongjoong asks
“If that’s what you want we can do that, see you later baby” she says grabbing her keys and kissing his forehead
“See you love you” he says retuning the kiss
“Love you too! Don’t forget to take out the trash” she says before closing the door behind her. Hongjoong finishes his bowl of oatmeal, cleaning the bowl putting it in the dish rack.
He grabs the trash bag taking it to the back. He remembered the land lord telling him trash day was on fridays. Today was Friday. He sighed rolling the can to the front
“Neighbor!!”
He looks over to his right seeing two men.
“Hey!“ he says waving
“I’m wooyoung and this is my best friend Yeosang” he says shaking hongjoongs hand
“Hongjoong. I just moved in with my wife, Yn shes at work right now” hongjoong says shaking Yeosangs hand
“So they let you move in? Didn’t think she’d let anyone move in after what happened” Wooyoung said causing Yeosang to nudge him
“After what happened?” Hongjoong asked
“The landlady’s granddaughter went missing. She was snatched in the dead of night and was never heard from” Wooyoung says causing Hongjoong to raise a brow
“Stop it Wooyoung. That was just a rumor. I don’t think she actually had a granddaughter” Yeosang says trying to reassure Hongjoong
“We’ll never know, but hey maybe you and the kisses could come over for dinner sometime” Wooyoung asks
“Uh yeah I’m sure Yn would be interested” Hongjoong says
“Great! See you later” Wooyoung says as he and Yeosang walk away
Hongjoong stood by the curb looking at his new home. It didn’t look or feel like home. The house was over a hundred years old compared to their old freshly built loft.
Fog surrounding the small neighborhood. It was kinda of creepy, it gave Hongjoong the creeps. He shook it off and went back into the house.
He decided to take a nap on the couch. Just as he laid down there was a knock on the front door.
“Who could that be?” He asks going to the door. He opens the door seeing a tall but buff boy.
“Can I help you?” He asks
“Uh my grandma is the landlord here and she left some boxes in the attic she asked me to get them” he says
“Uh yeah I saw those, come in” Hongjoong says allowing the boy to come in.
“I’ve never been inside” he says to Hongjoong
“Really?” He asks
“No. After what happened grandma never let anyone in the family near this house. Kind of surprised she told me to come pick up these boxes” he says making Hongjoong nod
Hongjoong leads the younger boy to the attic where the boxes were.
“What’s your name kid?” Hongjoong asks
“Uh jongho…you” he says opening the box
“Hongjoong”
“Cool”
It was quiet for a moment before Jongho opened his Mouth again
“Hey Uh…Mr.hongjoong you sure this is my grandmas box?” He sasks
“Of course. Is there a problem?” Hongjoong asks
“There’s a mini doll that looks like you”
Hongjoong looks over the boys shoulder. The doll definitely looked like him. But why?
“It…does look like me” Hongjoong says picking it up
He had no explanation for this doll. He just shrugged and took the doll.
“My wife probably made it. She has a thing for crocheting” Hongjoong says
“Oh your married? How nice! I bet your wife is a wonderful lady” Jongho says smiling
“That she is. Nice to meet you kid” Hongjoong says closing the door behind him
“Now i can nap” Hongjoong mumbles flopping down in the couch, immediately falling asleep.
A couple of hours later Hongjoong started to wake from his nap. He peeked at the window seeing the sun was now setting. He looked at the clock and it was 8:30. Yn should have been home an hour ago.
He checks his phone seeing that Yn had text and said she’d be working over time. He sighs getting off the couch. The couple had only been in their new house a few days and she was already working late again.
“Lately working means no dinner. Grilled cheese it is” Hongjoong says sighing going to fridge. As he grabs the cheese from the fridge her heard something
A small squeak. He looks over to his right seeing a tiny mouse.
“We have mice?” He asks as the mouse runs away. He follows behind it and it leads him to that door. He stood in front of if confused. The door had a weirdly purple and blue glow behind it.
Hongjoong hesitantly grabbed at the door knob before ripping it open. He gasp at the sight of a tunnel like door. The walls were glowing blue and purple. Hongjoong was conflicted. He knew he shouldn’t go through the door. It was just locked and bricked up the other morning.
It was as if the door was calling to his and before he knew it he was walking through door and too the other side. Once he reached the other side he was confused. He was back in the living room?
It was the living room but it was slightly different. Like the couch. It wasn’t the black couch Yn wanted and bought. It was the dark blue couch he wanted. There were two side tables by the couch decorated with table lamps and picture frames.
Above the fireplace was a huge picture of him and Yn. They definitely had one but not in the living room.
“What?” He whispers. Just then he could hear Mary J blidge being played softly. Yn use to play her in the morning all the time before she started working so heavily.
He follows the music to the kitchen where Yn was cooking? He looked over at the clock. 9:26. It was way past their dinner time
“Yn? What are you doing here in the middle of the night?” He asks
“Good evening baby, dinners almost ready” Yn says turning around causing him to gasp. Her eyes. They were buttons.
“Your not my yn. My wife doesn’t have b-butt-“
“B-b-Buttons? I’m your other wife silly. Go wash your hands for dinner” Yn- or the other Yn said setting the table. Hongjoong squints his eyes but goes to the bathroom to wash his hands. He noticed as the house was the same but different.
“This is weird. Something doesn’t feel right” Hongjoong thought as he watched his hands. After drying them he goes back to the table. Whatever the other Yn was cooking smelled good.
“Come sit sweet heart” the other Yn says pulling out a chair for Hongjoong. He sit down cautiously looking down at the plate. It healed salmon and vegetables and a bowl of fried rice.
“I have a yogurt parfait smoothie for you. Do you want it with your food?” Yn asks
“I Uh sure” he says. Watching the other Yn walk over to the fridge. The real Yn always made him smoothies making sure to put extra yogurt in it. She always went out of her way to get yogurt for his lunch. That was before she started working every waking minute of the day.
Yn sat the the cup in front of Hongjoong before taking her seat in front of him. Hongjoong picked up his utensils and dug in. It was good. It was delicious. It tasted just like Yn’s cooking. Who the hell is this women?
“Does it taste good my dear?”
My dear? Yn never calls him that
“It does…who are you again?” He asks
“I’m Yn! Your wife! Your other wife”
“My other wife?” Hongjoong asks
“Yes! Every married man has one” Yn says
“What about married women? Do they have another husband?” Hongjoong asks
“A selective few” she says eating from her plate
“I’m sorry this is just…” Hongjoong says trying to be careful with his words
“Weird? I know sweetheart. It’ll take some getting use to” she says with a giggle
“Yea..definitely” Hongjoong says, still feeling weird about this.
The two ate in silence. It was weird. Even he and the real Yn never ate in silence. They always had something to talk about.
“When your finish Wooyoung and Yeosang invited you over to see them perform” she says
“Perform. Perform what?” Hongjoong asks
“Their dance routine silly! You don’t remember them telling us that they’re dancer over dinner?” She asks
He definitely didn’t remember. The real yn had never even met the two. They never had their dinner with the two roommates. How could this Yn possibly know about that?
“Uh yeah. I remember” he says
“It’s okay baby. Finish your food and we’ll go” Yn says patting his shoulder. It’s was comforting but at the same time it was weird.
Hongjoong finished his food and he and Yn walked next door. Yn knocked on the door and soon it opened.
“Hongjoong!! You made it!”
Hongjoong jumps a bit.
“Wooyoung?”
“That’s me! Come in!! I’m so glad your here” Wooyoung says pulling the man inside. Hongjoong stared in disbelief. Wooyoung too had button eyes
“H-happy to be here” Hongjoong says with a slight smile
“Hongjoong! Yn! You made it” Yeosang says walking into the room
“Yeah we’re excited for the performance!” Yn says smiling
Hongjoong looked at everyone in the room. He was the only one without buttons for eyes.
“We’re excited to perform for you! Right this way!” Wooyoung says grabbing at Hongjoongs hand
After a very fun and amazing performance from Wooyoung and Yeosang. Hongjoong and other Yn went back home.
“Oh the music is still on! Want to dance?” Yn asks with a smile
“Dance?” Hongjoong asks
“Yeah! Come on” Yn says grabbing Hongjoongs hand. She clasps it in her own and places her other hand on his shoulder. Hongjoong follows her steps putting his free hand on her waist.
He couldn’t remember the last time he and the rest Yn did this.
“Welcome home dear” Yn whispers into his chest
“Home?” Hongjoong asks confusedly
“I’ve been waiting for you” she says. Her voice was soft and sickly sweet
“I’m getting tired” Hongjoong says
“Me too. Let’s go to bed” Yn says grabbing his hand leading him up the stairs into a room. “Their” room.
The master bedroom was painted royal blue with gold and white decor on the walls and shelves. The king size bed had a big blue fluffy looking blanket with white sheets.
Above the bed was a very familiar picture of Hongjoong and yn…but he too had button eyes. His mouth opened a bit in shocked before other Yn shook him from his thoughts
“Let’s get dressed and ready for bed” she says with a smile
The “couple” changed out of their clothes and laid down in the bed. “Yn”wrapped her arms around Hongjoong laying on his chest
“Goodnight Hongjoong, I love you” she says
“I-I love you too” Hongjoong says. He felt like he was cheating on his wife. This couldn’t be real.
Hongjoong woke up laying alone. In bed. He was no longer in the royal blue room. He was back in the dull gray room with boxes everywhere. He sighs looking over at Yn’s spot. It hadn’t been touch. As if she never came to bed.
He gets out the bed going down the stairs. As he hits the bottom of the steps the door swings open and in walks yn.
“And where have you been?” He asks
“I’m sorry baby I fell asleep at my office” Yn says taking her coat off
“You fell asleep at the office? You were to tired to come home and lay in bed with me?” Hongjoong asks
“It was by accident it won’t happen again” Yn says frowning
“No yn! I’m tired of this! This has been happening before we even moved here! Your letting your job take over your life…OUR life!” Hongjoong says
“Hongjoong sweetheart I’m sorry we haven’t been spending much time together but you know how busy social work gets” Yn says making Hongjoong scoff
“Busy my ass! It can’t get that hectic that you can’t fucking spend time with your husband. It’s getting bad to the point you aren’t even coming home at night” Hongjoong says getting angry
“Well if I don’t work as much whos going to pay our bills? Because you don’t work means I have to stop working and lay around all day and do nothing? News flash Hongjoong!!! One of us has to put food on the table” Yn says
She grabs her coat and leaves before Hongjoong could say anything else. He sighs before kicking the door closed causing it to slam. A picture frame fell off the wall causing him to jump.
He goes to pick it up with a sigh. Another wedding picture. The glass now cracked. He sighed running a finger over it. They were so happy back then…what happened?
Just then “the door” opens slightly. Hongjoong heard it snapping his head in the direction of the door. Before he could go over to the door, the doorbell rings. He puts the picture back on the wall before opening it.
The delivery man was long gone but several packages were left on the porch. He picks them up seeing they belong to the house to the right.
“Wrong address…Better give them to their rightful owner” hongjoong says going back in for shoes and went for his walk
Once reaching next door he rings the doorbell and patiently waits. Just then a voice could be heard
“Who are you?”
Hongjoong turns around seeing a ring doorbell
“Oh hey Uh I’m hongjoong! I live next door and your packages were delivered to my house should I leave them outside?” Hongjoong asks
“Come in. Door is open. Leave them on the table”
“Ohhhkaay.” Hongjoong says opening the door.
He steps inside looking for the table. It was pretty dark. The only light was coming from a tiny circus tent. Hongjoong walks over to the tent but was quickly stopped when a hand pushed him
“Secret!”
Hongjoong gasps In fear and shock.
“Jumping mouse circus not ready!!”
Just then a tall man with black hair came into hongjoongs line a view.
“Why are you here?”
“U-Uh your packages” Hongjoong says
“Yes I told you to leave on table!”
“Uh okay. I’ll leave them there then” hongjoong says
“Where did come from?”
“I just moved into the house next door”
“Very suspicious…you must go. Mice must jump” the man says pushing hongjoong out the door slamming it in the process
Hongjoong stands on the porch taking in everything that just happened
“Jump mice?” He asks himself before shaking his head and walking back home. Just as he was almost home he heard his name. The man was full speed running towards him
“Yes?” Hongjoong asks
“Jumping mice said to not go through door again” he says shocking hongjoong
“The closet? It’s bricked up” hongjoong says tilting his head in confusion
“Ah. Mistake sometimes they get all mixed up. I Am seonghwa by the way.” He says running back to his house
Hongjoong shakes his head going back into the house. He takes his shoes off and goes to the living room. He sits on the couch turning on the tv.
Minutes later his attention drifted to the door. It had that same blue glow from last night. He gets up walking over to the door slowly opening it. To his surprise it was glowing again.
Something was telling him not to go. Not to go and wait for Yn to come home. But something else told him to do and not wait for Yn.He sighed before walking into the closet without looking back.
And just like that. He was back into the other living room. The “better” living room. He closes the door behind him, following the smell of food
He walked into the kitchen seeing “Yn” setting the table. She wore a black mesh robe. A black lingerie set poked out from under it.
“Hey love, sleep well?” She asks
“Yeah I did” he says with a slight smile
“That’s good. Come eat. I made your favorite” she says pulling out a chair for him. He sits in the chair scanning the table. A plate of wings sat on one end of the table. A plate of beef on the other end and a bowl of ramen in front of him.
“Eat up baby” she says sitting down across from him
Hongjoong picks up the chopsticks stirring the Ramen. He instantly thought of the real Yn. Then he thought about their argument. He knew she was doing her best for the both of them
“Don’t!” The other Yn says
Hongjoong looks up at her catching her undoing the robe. This was Hongjoongs first time actually looking at her body. She was shaped exactly like Yn. From every curve and every hair. She even had the exact same birthmark Yn had right above her right breast.
“I have a surprise for you, but you have to finish your food first” she says crossing her legs
That’s when hongjoong noticed she had on heels as she ran the tip of her shoe up his leg.
The “couple” sat and talked as hongjoong ate. Yn didn’t touch any of the food.
“Are you ready for your surprise?” Yn asks
“Yeah” hongjoong says smiling
She slowly gets up letting the robe fall down her shoulders. Her dark skin was shinning under the dim light. When she walked pass hongjoong the faint smell of baby oil and coco butter was in the air.
It was familiar. It was home to him. Yn never missed a beat oiling her legs and arms with baby oil and Lathering the rest of her body with coco butter. This “better” Yn was just like his wife. from the curls in her Afro to her painted white toes.
She soon came back sitting back in her chair across from him.
“You like it here hongjoong?” She asks making the man nod
“Do you want to stay here! With me?” She ask
Hongjoong thinks short and hard. If he went back he’d be ignored and pushed to the side. If he stayed here he’d still have his wife.
“Yes. I do” he says
“Good. If you want to stay here you have to do something first” she says sliding a small box onto the table
“Go on…open it” she says smiling
He opens it with a smile but it soon fades when he opens the box and seen what was in it. He expected a ring. Maybe even a bracelet.
He wasn’t expecting blue buttons with needles and thread.
“Well do you like them? I know blue is your favorite” she says smiling
“I don’t understand ”
“If you want to stay here…I have to sew the buttons”
“No”hongjoong says shaking his head
“You don’t like the color? I have plenty colors to choose from!” She says
“No. I’m not letting you sew buttons in my eyes” he says getting up from the table
“You must if you want to stay with me” she says in a panic tone
“Then I won’t stay with you…I’m going home. Back to my real wife” hongjoong says with seem to upset the other Yn further
“Go back to that bitch who puts her work before her husband? I am the better Yn!” She says
“Your not! Your not even real! Your probably some figment of my imagination! I’m going home” hongjoong says walking out the the room only for other Yn to stop him
“No! You can’t leave me!” She says with a crazed look
“Watch me” he says slapping her hand away from him and continues his walk to the door. He stops in his path when he heard cackling
He turns around and it seems as if she was getting…taller. Her neck got skinner and so did her face. She was…growing.
“You will stay with me!” She shouts grabbing hongjoong by the shoulder. He grabs her thin arm throwing it off him. The two started tussling with each other.
She wraps her hands around his neck chocking him
“Say you love me!” She shouts
“N-never!” He says kicking her in the stomach causing her to fly across the room
Hongjoong gets up catching his breath
“You are not my wife! You’ll never be my wife! You’ll never be better than yn! Your the worse version of yn! I hate you and we’ll never be together!” He says in anger
“Take it BAAACCCK!” She screams launching herself at him
It came out as a screech. Hongjoong jumps out the way causing her to go head first into the wall. Hongjoong takes it as his chance to get to the door opening it.
“Hongjoong!! Stop!!” She shouts rushing to the door. Hongjoong closes it back running through the tunnel. It was no longer purple and blue. It was dark and grey with cobwebs everywhere.
He kept running and didn’t stop until he was back into his grey living room. He tumbles I’m turning around watch as the other Yn was close to dragging him back in. He rushes slamming the door and locking it
It was quiet for a moment before banging and yelling started
“HONGJOONG! OPEN THE DOOR!! ILL DIE WITHOUT YOU!”
Just then one last hard bang was made on the door making hongjoong jump back. He sighs looking at the key in his hand.
“I have to get rid of this” he mumbles
“Hongjoong?”
He looks up basically running to the door. There stood his wife. His REAL wife. He almost cried at the sight. He rushed into her arms
“Yn baby I am so sorry. I’m so fucking sorry! I know everything you do is for us. I-I” he cried
“Hongjoong baby…I got the promotion” she says smiling
“You did?” He asks. He knew that’s something she really wanted
“I did!!! We’re going out to eat tonight!! How does hot pot sound?” She asks smirking
He wraps his arms around her in a tight hug.
“I love you so much I’m so proud of you” he says kissing her cheek
“Thank you baby. I love you more.” She says
“I’m sorry for earlier baby. I really am I just miss you sometimes” hongjoong says
“I know baby. It’s okay. I’m sorry too. I should have made time for you. All is forgiven now Come on, let’s shower and get dress” she says with a wink.
Hongjoong smiles taking her hand following her up the stairs
The black cat watched from the window sill shaking his head. He should have introduced himself to hongjoong sooner. He could have saved him. It’s too late now.
This wouldn’t be the end of the other Yn and hongjoong.

Someone knocked three times on the garage door making me rub the sleep from my eyes. "Y/n, Y/n, Y/n." Sheldon called out behind the closed door. Holding myself up on my elbow noticing Georgie's side of the bed is empty meaning he went to work most likely even though it's a Saturday. "Yeah Sheldon, what's wrong?" He peaks his head around the door trying to make sure he can come in. So I pat the space on the bed causing him to come sit beside me. He puts his hands in his lap looking nervous. "I'm not good with feelings but - I hope I'm not making life harder on you since you're pregnant now." Tilting my head I give him a weak smile hugging him without a thought and supriseingly he puts his arms around me. Sheldon had been freaking out that he couldn't focus on school because of his brother being pregnant and he was complaining a lot recently.
"It's okay Sheldon. It's all overwhelming for all of us." I whispered pulling away and wiping away tears until he offers with a smile. "Can I offer you a drink?" Nodding my head we went to the kitchen where he poured me a glass of chocolate milk since I can't have coffee while I'm pregnant. He stands at the end of the table as I finished it off. "Thanks, Sheldon." The front door opened and I hear a bunch of foosteps entered the kitchen meaning I see Missy and Georgie. "Hey guys, what's going on?" I asked confused at seeing her nearly bouncing off the walls and him clearly nervous when he reaches into his flannel pocket. Sheldon looks between the three of us confused as I am until Georgie dropped on one knee. "Georgie." I gasped suddenly dropping the glass making it shatter on the floor. He clears his throat trying to not cry himself.
Missy is almost jumping up and down giggling like she's five years old again when he spoke staring up at me. "Y/n L/n, I love you. When we started dating I was a reck always getting in trouble because I didn't like being called dumb. But you helped me see that I am smart in a different way. I know we didn't plan on becoming parents so soon, but I promise I'll be there for you. Through everything - because you are the only person I want to spend the rest of my life with. Will you marry me?" Nodding my head yes causing him to quickly get to his feet kissing me. He takes my left hand slipping the ring on my finger, looping his arm through mine smiling to Missy. "Missy go help her with her dress. I think we're done waiting." I stared up at him daring to ask the question. "We're having an actual wedding, Georgie?"
Missy had done a actual good job at picking out the perfect dress for me. It's long in the back but short in the front so I won't trip. Short sleeve with lace on the front. Eyeing the ring on my finger someone knocked on the door making me glance over my shoulder seeing Connie. "Hi dear, I thought you deserved my ring. You're the best girl for my grandson." Running up to her I throw my arms around her smiling and she hugs me back for a second. Sitting on Missy's bed she puts part of my hair in a braid leaving the rest of it loose falling down my back. Slipping my tenna shoes on my father stands in the hallway taking me outside to see thr backyard all decorated for the wedding. Squeezing my father's hand I asked as we both looked to Georgie wearing a tie and his best shirt with blue jeans smiling towards us. "So you're fine with me marrying him?" My father looked down to me then at my mother who is crying. "If he makes you happy. That's all that matters babygirl."
My father puts my hands in Georgie's where his mother stepped up carrying a Bible in her hands smiling. "Georgie is letting me preform the ceremony and I am honored." My gaze flickered to his and I already knew why. His father had quit his job as the high school football coach and his mother was fired from working at the church. Plus the entire town had cut us off because of the baby. "We are gathered here today to bring these two wonderful people together. I see these two together and it brings me great joy. Just as I hope their child will..." She has us put our freehand on the cover of her book asking with a smile. "Y/n do you take him to be your husband?" I grin replying. "I do." She turned to her son who answered immediately without a thought. "I do." Mary stepped back before Georgie cups my face in his hands kissing me slowly. Wrapping my arms around his neck I kiss him back hearing Missy hollering out in joy. "She's finally my sister in law!"
Comments really appreciated ❤️

74. “Do you want me to stay?” for the work wives 👀👀
"This is the last time I host a work function," Melissa says the second she shuts the door behind Jacob and Janine. "Look at this mess!"
Melissa bends over to pick up a pair of empty bottles from beside the couch, along with streamers, holiday decorations, and other casualties of half of Abbot's teachers cutting a rug in her living room.
Barbara chuckles from somewhere in the kitchen and calls out, "They did offer to help!"
Melissa scoffs.
"And put up with more of Jacob's incessant babbling? No thank you."
"You'll have to admit he's toned it down quite a bit this year," says Barbara when she appears, the sleeves of her modestly cut dress rolled up to the elbows.
Melissa tries not to stare. It's easier when there are other people around. When there's something to distract her. It's been two years since they put a stop to things. Since Melissa put a stop to things, rather. It turns out even she has a breaking point, and it came on the eve of her birthday after a jealousy-infused fight int he parking lot of a Dave & Buster's while their respective partners were no doubt looking for them inside. It was hard, and awkward at first, and they made it difficult enough for everyone concerned at work for long enough. Needless to say, it was a minute before they could be in a room together and not radiate enough tension to evacuate a room within the span of seconds.
Melissa's fine now. She's good with it, with her decisions thus far. But sometimes, it creeps up on her, that feeling that's a lot like a phantom limb. That distinctly near-tangible thing sitting just out of reach. Tonight especially, she's feeling it. Gary didn't stick around for long, and Melissa doesn't blame him, with the fresh addition to her pile of baggage dragging her down. It wasn't fair to him, or the three other people that came after him.
As is her pattern, it took a while to realize she wasn't ready to be anyone's anything, no matter how badly she wanted to be someone's something so she wouldn't have to think about the only person she wanted to mean anything to. And so she stands now, six months single, with plenty of casual flings under her belt, and more together than she's been in a long time. Except now she's standing alone in her home with Barbara, all the weight of their history hanging over them, and enough eggnog in both their systems to let it all fall on their heads.
Melissa can see all of this reflected in Barbara's stare. In the way she fidgets with her wedding ring, how her breath becomes just a fraction more deliberate.
"Yeah, you're right," Melissa eventually responds, deciding to give Barbara an out now before things get awkward. "Well, thanks for coming. I'll get your coat."
Barbara's smile falls, and Melissa isn't prepared to examine why that is. She won't fall into that trap again.
"Do you want me to stay?" Melissa hears Barbara ask when she's pulling her coat from the closet near the door.
"To help you clean, I mean."
Melissa pauses, her emotions getting the best of her momentarily before she gathers herself and puts on a hostess-appropriate smile with which to face her last guest.
"Nah," she says, walking Barbara's coat over and handing it to her, careful not to let their hands brush. "I've got it. Besides, I'm dying to get into bed. I might just leave it till morning."
"Okay." Barbara smiles politely and heads toward the front door, hand on the handle, coat over her arm, and she stops.
Melissa watches the back of her and she hates that she catches her breath. After all this time, Barbara still has that effect on her. She feels like recovering addict on the verge and she has to ball her hands at her sides, simply to have something solid in her grip as Barbara's shoulders tense and then fall before she turns around, a helpless look in her eyes.
"Are you sure you don't want me to stay?"
Melissa swallows. Can feel herself slipping.
"What do you want, Barb?" She asks. "Do you want to stay?"
This is a bad idea, Melissa thinks. This is a bad, bad idea.
"This is a terrible idea," she says out loud after Barbara kisses her breathless.
"Yes," Barbara pants, nodding. "It is."
"Damn it," Melissa curses before pinning Barbara to her door.
People fall off the wagon all the time after all. In the morning, she'll hop back on again.

The tears dripped down her cheeks as she looked at him – the man she was supposed to marry in the next month – and wondered just how she was going to tell everyone the wedding was off. He kept his eyes downcast, trying his best to ignore hers before he turned away and stalked into their shared bedroom.
“You better be packing,” she hiccuped, dropping onto the couch and wiping her cheeks. She sniffled, pulling out her phone and scrolling through it, ignoring the sounds coming from her bedroom as her ex-fiance gathered his bags. He stopped in front of her, frowning as she refused to look up. She heard a soft whisper of her name, but kept her nose scrunched and eyes on her phone. She waited for the click before pressing on a familiar name in her phone.
“You have the worst fucking timing. What do–” the sniffle cut him off. He shuffled a little, the background sounds no longer in her ear. “What happened?”
“C-can you just–”
“I’m coming.” With Kyojuro.
Kyojuro peeked over at Sanemi’s phone, the name and photo ID popping up made his heart stutter. He knew they still spoke, that they were still good friends, but–
He shook his head, not wanting to think about those things at the moment. He watched as Sanemi answered the phone.
“You have the worst fucking time. What do–” The white-haired man stopped mid-sentence, looked at Kyojuro before leaving the room. He frowned, taking a seat on the empty couch. Shinazugawa flung the sliding door open, seething, grumbling under his breath about “killing that song of a bitch.”
“I’m coming.” Sanemi didn’t even question it; he had spent far too many nights listening to the eldest Rengoku son cry over the one he let slip through his fingers. The wind hashira didn’t even tell him what happened on the way to her apartment. Kyo figured he didn’t even know.
The knock echoed throughout the quiet apartment and she brushed her palms against the apron before opening the door. Gold and red tufts of hair caught her eye before landing on the swirled irises. Sanemi stood behind the boisterous man and when it became clear she wasn’t going to kick him out, the white-haired man slipped away quietly, texting her that he’d check on her tomorrow.
“Wh-what are you doing here?”
“Shinazugawa brought me,” his voice was unusually quiet. “Are you okay? Why are you crying?” She hadn’t realized the tears spilling down her cheeks again. She couldn’t tell if it was because Kyojuro was standing in front of her or if it was because of her fiance’s affair. She chalked it up to both before letting him in.
Kyojuro was never one to sit still, and tonight was no different. He followed her into the apartment and into the kitchen where the timer rang aloud. Her head jumbled, she ducked down and pulled the fresh tray of cookies from the oven. The heat burned through her skin and her fingers were quick to open, the cookies landing on the floor along with the tray.
“Fuck–”
“Baby, be careful!” The flame hashira rushed over, grasping her hands and bringing her to the sink to put cold water on the burns. The nickname made her head spin and the tears spring onto her lash line. “Are you okay?”
“Y-yeah, I’m okay. It was just a burn.”
“Just a burn?” His frown deepened. He sat her down on the counter and walked into the bathroom. Everything was still the same, in the same place. The only difference was the excess amount of men's shampoos and razors decorating the counter. He thought about throwing them in the trash. He didn’t. Rengoku ducked down, grabbing the first aid kit before slipping back into the kitchen.
"You remembered." It wasn't a question, just an observation. I did live here at some point. But he didn't. Never officially, at least. He had this apartment memorized either way.
"I'll make us some tea," was all he said when he finished wrapping her small fingers, his lips twitching with every passing second as he wanted to kiss the pain away — kiss away the burns, the tears, the aches in her heart.
“He cheated on me…” she whispered, looking down at her soon-to-be scarred hands.
“What?” God, don’t look at me like that. His eyes softened, stomach clenched. He frowned.
“With his coworker. It started two months after our engagement party.” Her fingers danced along the jewelry on her hand, slipping it off. “I should have seen it coming, you know? I should have noticed the signs of him pulling away. Should have–” Rengoku squatted down to get into her peripheral.
“No one can ever notice the signs.”
“I noticed them with you– when you–”
“I never cheated on you–”
“–when you pulled away from me.” She smiled sadly, looking down at Kyojuro. He took the ring, tossing it aside for the moment – and hoping it gets lost somewhere – before taking her hands.
“Nothing that happened was your fault. Nothing.” Not me, not us, not this. “You are amazing, and always have been. You’re a wonderful partner.”
“I’m not.”
“You are. You're amazing, beautiful, so caring, and loving. You give your all and don’t expect anything in return. You make me–” he stopped, taking a deep breath. “You make everyone so happy.”
“Ky– Rengoku..” Say my name. He smiled softly, opting against voicing his thoughts. He can’t get upset about it now. He can’t let his name get in the way of making her smile.
“I mean it.” She hiccuped, ducking her head down as the liquid spills against their hands. She tried to keep her sobs in, tried to breathe when he stood up and wrapped his arms around her middle. Her fingers gripped his haori, fisting the fabric between her fingers as she cried. “You have done an incredible job and I am so proud of you.”
“K-Kyo–” Say it again. He tightened his arms around her, squeezing her gently. “Kyojuro…” Again.
“I’m right here.”
“Why are you being so good to me?”
“Because it’s what you deserve. It’s what you’ve always deserved.” He towered over her as she wiped her eyes. His calloused fingers tangled into her hair, carding through the locks. “You deserve so much more than you were ever given in your life.” Her sobs just got louder, her hands covering her eyes and mouth. “More than I could ever give you. More than he ever could.” Just let it out. Her fingers clawing at his uniform while she cried. They stayed like that until she calmed down; stayed tangled together in the middle of the kitchen amongst the forgotten cookies and the discarded ring. Kyojuro held her until she could breathe again, carrying her to her bedroom and rocking her until she fell asleep pressed against his shoulder with tear stained cheeks and the pieces of their own shattered relationship spilled along fabric.
“D-don’t leave me.” She whispered in her sleep.
“I’m not going anywhere.” He whispered as if she could hear him.

A/n: hello this is my first time posting a story here hope you like it . Also got permission from moodyclouds89 for making part two of mitsuya angst!! Hope you enjoy it!
⚠️Not proof read ⚠️
——— ☆ • ♧ • ♤ • ♧ • ☆ ———
Wiping my tear away with my hands thoughs came coming tho my head
why did I even go....
Why did I even agreed...to go..
Why would I make myself more miserable...
But the biggest question is why did they even invited me....
" welcome back y/n ! " I was warmly welcome by Ran at my favorite coffee place " the usual ? " he ask behind the desk
" yes please " giving him my card
" one mocha ice coffee with extra whip cream coming right up " he said while giving me a bright smile
" some seems to in a good mood " I commented
" because my favorite customer is here today " said while chuckling to himself.
Rolling my eyes I take my card and took a seat at a desk
.
.
.
The sound of the door open and the worker welcome them in is kinda relaxing. This is my favorite coffee so-
" really!? "
a familiar voice cut my thoughts as I turned my head to see who it was but of course I didn't need to since I already know who the voice belongs to... It's.. Mitsuya and Yuri...
" yes.. You can wear it " mitsuya said
" thanks your the best!!! " Yuri said while hugging his arm tighter.
" y/n ? "
Oh no...
" y/n, it is you ! " Yuri said while talking toward me with mitsuya.
Please don't come...
" long time no see ! " Yuri said
" yeah..." I said giving her a small smile
" what brings you here? " yuri said while taking a seat in front of me pulling mitsuya to sit too.
" i-i ...should ask the same..." I replied back but it seems like I already know the answer
" well you know this is my favorite coffee shop! " she said beaming even brighter " it became my favorite place since my fiance introduced me to this place! "
" oh really..." I awkward scratch my cheek.
" yup " she said clapping her handa
Wait.....fiance..?
Ah.... I see it now...... What a pretty ring... Mitsuya probably designed it...
"Here! "
" what this? " I look at the pink envelope
" this is our invitation to our wedding. Hope you'll be their ! "
" I think about it... I do have a busy schedule ... So I can't really make promises I CAN'T keep...." I said while saw mitsuya in the coner in my eyes his head turn to the floor his eyes looking at the ground.
" but I really hope I see you their ! "
" I'll try..."
.
.
.
.
An awkward silence creeped in until Yuri broke it
" have you eaten yet? If not let's eat together we can order something and share it together " Yuri said while rasing her hand to get the waiter attention.
"Yuri thats- " mitsuya began to say as he clearly see how uncomfortable I was but he was cut off by Ran
" one mocha ice coffee with extra whip cream for the lovely miss y/n there " Ran said while waving the drink in hand.
" wait that my favorite ! But it doesn't have that much whip cream tho. How unfair " Yuri pouted
" well I gotta go . But congratulations to two you " I said waving
" bye y/n! Hope to see you at our wedding "
" yea...." I replied back
Walking to grab my drink and thanking Ran for saving me back their " thanks you Ran"
" anything for my favorite customer ! " Ran churped
✂------------------------------------------------
Wearing a nice dress design by some famous designee that cost millions of dollars... It feels strange for some reason even tho is an comfortable and elegant dress maybe I'm just used to put on a dress by- no no no. Shaking my head to snap out of my though I putting on the high heels to the look , I look at myself in the mirror...
" sigh.... I'm going to regret this... " I said to myself as I toughed the mirror
.
.
.
.
Getting out of my car I can see the place decorated with white and pink balloons and purple flowers .... It looks beautiful just like we said.... Or is- no it is just like we talked about.... 4 years ago...
.
.
.
Walking to the place seeing lots of people was making me really regret from coming here...
Quickly taking a seat at last row of the bench I calmed down a little.
Maybe I should have brought a friend along....
" oh y/n ! How are you? I haven't seen you since a long time! "
" oh hello...takamichi... I'm...im doing well thanks for asking " I said
" I heard your business is doing well " Takamichi said taking a seat next to me
" yeah... It's doing fine " I replied back
" more like booming ! Can't believe you have time to come here. Like being a CEO of a big company is-"
I look down as I fist my hands. Takamichi realised what he just said and started to apologize Convusly.
" it's fine takamichi-" I reasured him but got cut off by hina who suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
" takamichi your making worse! Sorry about that y/n...." Hina said and glared at takamichi
" it's nothing I'm over it....really " I said giving them a small smile
" takamichi, hina glad you made it " I can hear the groom say as he hugged them and then turned to me
" yn glad you came " mitsuya smile and offered me the same treatment as takamichi en hina but I offered my hand instead.
Hina and takamichi left to see their friends, leaving me and mitsuya
" I... I made some free time for this day." I saiy as week shake hands
" I really appreciate that.... Yuri... Will be glad to see you..."
" I... Guessts so.." I replied back.
" well I gotta get going and welcome the others. I hope you can stay until the end? " mitsuya said looking at me hoping I would agree
" if theirs no emergency calls from the company then ...yes..."
Mitsuya nodded at my Statment and left to great the other guests
.
.
.
" here comes the bride! "
Everyone stood up from their seat and look toward the door. Their stood Yuri with a beautiful white dress .... But looking closely that that is the every same dress that mitsuya design especially for me and just just me but why... Is Yuri.... What am I thinking of course she can wear any dress she wants from mitsuya.... But why that one...
.
.
.
.
.
After the couples said their " I do's " we when to a fancy restaurant to further celebrate the newly wedding couple. As everyone eat and drink, I stood at the corner and drink some wine while looking at the people who is enjoying the party.
Seeing mitsuya and Yuri happily with the biggest smiles adored their faces i...I couldn't help myself... Wishing that it was me instead of Yuri. Not knowing that a single tear was falling from the corner of my eye until it landed on my glass of wine....
I should leave.grabving my pures I head toward the exit .
" would you excuse me for a moment " mitsuya said as he walked out of the group and walks toward yn who is going towards the exit.
Seeing mitsuya coming toward me from the corner of my eyes I quickly quicker my pace.
Walking out the door almost to the parking lot, someone took a hold of my wrist turning to see it was mitsuya, I yank it away.
" leaving so soon?" mitsuya began
" sorry I can stay any longer but their is some trouble at company and they are calling for me." I made up a lie
" I know that's a lie... Y/n. " mitsuya point out and frowned his eyebrows
As I'm almost the verge of tears I bursted out all my feelings in anger
" why do you care mitsuya ! "
" I don't need a good excuse just to leave this shitty hell I'm watching " tears fall from my eyes as I still continue to yell at him lucky the music inside was loud enough for the guests not to hear was I'm saying
" I know I'm an ass hole yn for falling out of love for you. I know I don't deserve you, i know I'm not good enough for you." Mitsuya began. " but that doesn't mean I'm not grateful for you in my life. Without you I wouldnt have the confidence for showcasing my works. Without you I won't be the person I am now......" As if I couldn't be even angrier
" as you can see I'm don't need to be apart of your life.....mitsuya.....but why... mitsuya .. what do I deserve to be hurt like this? What does she have and I don't ? " I said
" we've been together since middle school.... What...did I...do wrong! " I cried out loud
" nothing! ..... You did nothing wrong yn ! It's just me ! ..... I'm the ass hole who can't love you back. Who can't return the warm love you give me " mitsuya said and if I look closely I could see some tear escaping from his eyes
" why are you even crying about mitsuya. This is you're wedding day you should be happy with your wife......and I should probably move on...its already been really three years..." I said in a shaking voice
Now eyes full of tear I have one more question to ask " why...why is Yuri wear the wedding dress you design for me ? Why can you design another especially for her only mitsuya? "
Mitsuya stood still frozen as he didn't want to say it..
" just.....forget it....goodbye....mitsuya .." I turned around walking to my card.
" Yuri found the drawing.... She was cleaning my office and saw the wedding dress I drew for you... Apparently she like the dress and thought if was for her.... Of course I tried to tell her it's for a very important friend..." Mitsuya Wishpered the last part tho I could hear it loud and clear. " but she still kept asking to make it for our wedding day-" I cut off Mitsuya
" so you did make her the dress... Because you couldn't stand your lover to be sad right ? " nodding in agreement I smiled and said my goodbye
"Goodbye Mitsuya Takashi have a happy fairy tail with you're cute , caring and sweet wife the total position of me...." I gave him a small box before I turned around.
Mitsuya watch as I get into my car and drove as fast as I can to get out of their. From my review mirror I can see Takashi running after me but I just ignored him.
* how fucking stupid *
✿°•∘ɷ∘•°✿ ... ✿°•∘ɷ∘•°✿ ... ✿°•∘ɷ∘•°✿
Yn gave me a little box and head for her car , curious I pulled the ribbin the was keeping the box closed . As the box opens my eyes widen as I took the item with shaking hands.
" she still kept it all these years ? " holding the earing that is the same one he's wearing. He gave it to yn since they were dating.
Thinking about the time mitsuya spend time with yn his heart aches...
He didn't even know that he was running after yn's car and yells " I'M SORRY !!!! "
❁ ≖≖✿❁ ≖≖✿❁ ≖≖✿❁ ≖≖ ❁
* knock knock *
I turned to see who is knock on my car window. Seeing it was Ran who is knock on my windowI rolled the window down.
" hey Ran what are you doing here ? " I said while whiping my last drop of tear away fromy face.
" need company? " Ran said smiling looking at me.
" sorry Ran but I don't think I'm in the mood for-" not even finish ing my sentence Ran opened my card door and pulled me out and dragged me to the passenger seat.
" what are you doing? " I said as he straps my seat belt.
" safety first princess . " with the satisfying click of the seat belt he kissed my forehead that makes me freeze immediately as my cheeks grows warm
" already let's go." Ran said while strapping himself
" to wear ? " I said turning my face to him looking at those lavender eyes that reminds me of someone I'm trying to forget.
" you'll see when we get their " he said as he speeds away making me hold on to the handel for dear life
✼ •• ┈┈┈┈๑⋅⋯ ୨˚୧ ⋯⋅๑┈┈┈┈ •• ✼
" wake up sleeping beauty we're here " Ran said gently shaking me.
" what's up with the pet names? " I said robing the sleep out of me. And since when I did fall asleep?
" you don't like it ? " Ran said chucking to himself and undoing my seats belt and then his. The closeness of him made my heart beet a little faster then usual
" where are we anyway? " I said changing the subject liking around me at it looks like we are at the river side outside the city since it already dark here.
" my favorite place to calm myself down or you can say my secrets place to relax and distress myself " Ran said opening the door for me.
Stepping out of my experience car and thanked Ran I ask him " why are you bringing me here isn't your secret place to relax? "
" though you might need it and...it feels good to bring someone here to enjoy it with me..." He trailed off
" well this is quite calming the wind feels nicer here then in the city " I said as the wind kissed my skin.
" it way much better then behind the office all day " he chuckled, watching my every move . Twirling around I stopped to see the fireflies flying off the grass
"Fireflies.... " I said looking at the glowing star flying away .
" yup theirs a ton in this field especially this season " Ran walking up to me and held his hand out looking at him I raised a brow
" can I have the honor to dance with you princess? " Ran said charming me with his actions and words.
" the honor is all yours Sir Ran " I said giving me my hand.
We dance across the field as the fireflies or lighting bug flies away and around us following to the river bank. Their we dance what felt like hours.
Ran seeing yn smile this happily made his heart melt and made him feel warm inside like cuddling in bed at winter season.
" thank you Ran... For today .. I really enjoy the time we spent " I said at house in front of the door step
" it's nothing I enjoyed it more " Ran said while peting my head
" good night...princess " Ran turned and head to his car
" Ran wait ! " I said running to him . He stopped in his tracks and I place a kiss on his cheeks. His eyes goes wide in shock as his ears turned to 50 shade of pink
" I wanted to show you how much today ment to me and I couldn't find anything to thank you with so the first think came up in my mind was...to kiss you on the cheek...." I quickly said in embarrassment and head toward my door openkng it
" good night Ran! '' I said and close the door and fall to the floor, hands on my face feeling how hit me cheeks are.
*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:
* knock knock *
" come in " I said in a sturn voice as my assistance come to throw the door
"What's the action ? " look at the screen while waiting for her to answer
" I got a letter from bonten " she said making me freeze from my track and look at her.
She nodded and place the the letter at my desk and closed all the current and finally the the door and left as two bodyguards where at my front office door
Seeing that everyone left, I opened the last drawer to grab some gloves , butter knife , a tiny bottle of alcohol and a lighter. Putting on the gloves I carefully open he seal with the butter knife. Taking the letter out and seeing it was blank I took it to another table.
Placing it on the coffee table I spray the letter with alcohol. As the paper bece damp I can see some letter appearing.
Taking a step back I light the lighter and trow it toward the coffee table. Lighting it on fire.
The burning of wood made the fire alarm go on sprinkling water every where in my office . When the water stopped I trow the umbrella and look at my coffee table
A meeting will be held at XXX. I'll send one of my exclusive to bring you where the meeting is held. be their at 11 o clock sharp. The one exhorting you is the eldest haitani brother's, he can project you at all cost
- Mikey
" I'll have to file a complaint about how they sent their message. This is the five time I ruined my office. " I shake my head in Anoyince.
Deciding I need to get a drink I grab my purse and headed out. The body guards followed me. I wave them off as they all when back to work . my assistance came along side me with a note book in hand
" rebuilding my office at once . Get rid of every Advedes that might lead me working with bonten "
I start working with bonten for a three years now is nothing that big just making deal and lending the company money to bonten when they don't have enough that sport of business.
.
.
.
.
.
" busy day at work ? " he adds the whip cream to my drink
" yup who did you know ? " I ask him
" well you always get two shot of espresso in youre iced coffee and half an oz of alcohol " Ran said handing out the drink
" thanks." I grab my drink " I'll see you soon ? " I shyly said rubbing my nape
" oh we will " Ran winked as I can feel my face getting warm
Since that day Ran took me to his secret relaxing place we start to hang out more and eventually Ran asked me out , at first I hesitate but reasoned myself maybe this is a step forward to my heart broken life and... Here we are , we started dating for a week now and I began to have feelings for Ran slowly.Come to think about the first time me met Ran was when mitsuya broke up with me...
[Flashback]
" the usual please...." I said in a craspy voice
" welcome to xxx coffee shop. Sorry miss but I don't know what the usual is ? " I hear the man say with a rather deep voice, looking up to the man with purple hair and black streaks behind the counter with my red and puffy eye , he looks unfamiliar
" I'm a new employee here so I don't know what you usually order. But I hope you can guide me " he said
" oh it's fine I should have looked at whom I'm talking to. One mocha ice coffee with extra whip cream and boba" I said handing my card to pay.
" coming right up. " he said typing into the machine.

" yn, but won't you boss be mad for giving me this much? " I asked concert
" no worries he won't be mad for me cheering up a beautiful young lady right ? " smiling at finishing his sentence
We talked a little and I can find myself easley relax around him but our conversation was cut short as I got a message from my assistance saying it was an emergency

" nothing. But check when she's becoming again what time and when."
" yes sir ! "

"So what's the emergency? "
" their is a mysteroius envelope address to you miss l/n " she gave me the envelope and whispered sometime to my ears
" you got to be joking....botten wants to work with me ...but why? " I thought looking at my coffee I spotted a pink note .
I grabbed the pink not and read it.

[ end of flashback ]
" I'll be going now bye Ran "
" good luck with work princess !"
" stop calling me that in public !" I threw a pack of tissue at him before closing the door with a red face

Space Princess - Thirteenth Doctor
Tumblr media
Summary: When The Doctor lands on a new planet, she’ll be whisked away into a royal wedding. One where she’s the bride. But will she be able to go through with it in the end?
Word Count: 1,614
Warnings: Some angst, she/her pronouns for reader
Tumblr media
Busy. The Doctor always kept busy, even if her human companions couldn’t always keep up. So sometimes, she left them behind on earth to catch up on their rest while she went back off into the stars. She never let on that she had adventures without them, instead leaving them to draw their own conclusions about what she does in her time away from them.
This excursion happened to be one such occasion where The Doctor was traveling alone. She pulled a few levers and pushed a few buttons on the console of the TARDIS and off she went, landing on an unfamiliar yet beautiful planet. She appeared on a street paved in sparkling gold. Decorations hung on lampposts and buildings as if a grand celebration was occurring and she was just in time to watch it happen.
As The Doctor took in more of her surroundings, she found a flier laying at her feet. In large lettering it read, "Royal Wedding Today! Who Will The Princess Choose?" And below was a smiling, holographic picture of the princess. The Doctor smiled back, triggered by habit, but nonetheless genuine. When she looked up, there you stood, in the flesh. The Princess.
Unsure of the proper custom in addressing royalty on this planet, The Doctor went for what she deemed the most universally acceptable, and frankly, the only thing she could think to do in the moment; curtsy. It came off a bit awkward, seeing as she was in pants, but she bowed her head, thinking it would have to do.
Your melodic laughter rang out shortly after, not so much laughing at her, but with her. "Darling stranger, there is no need for such antiquated formalities," you said, gently raising her chin with your fingertips.
"Sorry, new here. I’m The Doctor. It’s my first time on this planet actually. Don’t even know the name of it yet. Didn’t have time to use my sonic." At that, she whipped out a short little contraption the likes of which you were entirely unfamiliar.
"Welcome to Menzora. If you’d like, you may accompany me to the palace and I shall give you the grand tour."
With a childlike glee, the Doctor tucked her sonic away in her coat and smiled wide. "I’d love a tour. Don’t often have time to see the inside of a castle. Seen my fair share of dungeons though." She rambled on, going off topic several times, as you took her hand and led her along on your way to the palace. Yet what finally stopped her talking was the surprise at finding you unguarded. That was very unusual for any of the royalty she’d met.
Entering the castle, you were greeted by your parents, the king and queen. "Mother, Father, this is The Doctor."
"And you have chosen her for your bride then," your father asked, immediately assuming that you had in fact done just that by even bringing her into the palace.
"I—" you began to protest, but your mother interjected.
"She’s delightful. Such a beautiful specimen. What species is she?" Your mother approached The Doctor, looking her over thoroughly, all the while The Doctor kept trying to twirl away from her appraising eye.
"Mother, Father, please. She is only a newcomer I wished to show around. I—"
But once again you were cut off. "Clearly, she is the one you’ve selected. Look at the two of you." Your eyes followed your mother's and locked on your hand clasped on The Doctor's. "The arrangements will all be made. Now go. Take your bride to your wing and show her around." Your mother shooed the two of you off, and you had no choice but to go.
You hadn’t known her long, but you suspected The Doctor's silence was not a good sign. You hadn’t meant to get her wrapped up in this. She had to know that wasn’t your intention. "So, we’re getting married now, I guess," you said. Weak, but you just wanted her to say something.
"Married, right. No, yeah, I’ve been married. Not so bad. Though we hardly know each other, so how are we to know if we’re compatible? I don’t even know your favorite color. I haven’t had time to prepare any vows. When’s the wedding again? Today, wasn’t it? That’s what the flier said. Today. Today? Oh my, I am nowhere near prepared. How long are your days here? Oh, never mind, it’s still too soon. Not enough time."
"Doctor," you attempted, but she kept going. She was panicking so hard that you suspected she wasn’t even hearing you. And the pacing. It was giving you a headache watching her pace so incessantly. She may be wearing down a track in the flooring.
"It’s teal," you said at last when she finally fell quiet.
"What’s teal," The Doctor asked, stopping to look at you.
"My favorite color. You said you didn’t even know my favorite color. It’s teal."
"Ah," she said. "That’s hardly enough information for a marriage now though is it?"
Before she could start up again, you walked over to her, taking both her hands in your own. "Doctor, I’m sorry I got you mixed up in this. I hadn’t realized I was holding your hand when we walked in. Doing so is a contract for royalty here. An agreement to marriage. It’s just, you were talking and I thought if I didn’t physically bring you along, you may still be standing there while I went on. And now you’re here. In a marriage contract that you didn’t ask for."
"Been in stickier situations," The Doctor admitted. "You seem lovely, so I can’t complain."
She was taking this all so well. A flesh bound contract was sacred and despite being new to Menzora, The Doctor was willing to honor that custom. For that, you were unbelievably grateful.
Just then a soft knock fell on the door, and your father came in. "It is time," he said. "Get changed and escort your bride to the altar." You nodded to your father and he ducked out. You then gestured to the door to the adjoining room, where no doubt The Doctor's wedding garb would be hanging, waiting for her. With a nervous glance, she disappeared into the room to change.
Once you’d both changed, you stepped out of your wing of the palace together, once again, hand in hand. The Doctor squeezed your hand, a signal you weren’t sure was meant to be reassuring or fearful. Either way, you squeezed back and she gave a half smile.
The walk to the altar was completely silent. The Doctor's hand was becoming sweaty in your own, and you could feel her nervous energy filling the space around you both. Then, your father began to speak. "Here we are gathered to commit the princess to her chosen spouse. She has selected The Doctor, a newcomer to our planet, as her bride. If anyone wishes to challenge her choice, speak up now."
The room went quiet for a moment. "Wait," your voice rang out, the acoustics of the wedding chamber causing that one timid word to fill the space. The gasp that followed brought about another silence as all eyes turned to you. But you only noticed one pair of eyes. The Doctor's.
She looked up at you, locking into your gaze, wondering what you were doing. "Doctor, I cannot, will not, force you into this. It was because of my silly mistake that you ended up at this altar with me, and the last thing I want is for you to be stuck here, unhappy. I can see it in your beautiful eyes, and feel it in your soul. You aren’t meant for this. I release you."
When The Doctor finally spoke, she directed her words to your father. "If it’s not too much trouble, do you think we could have the room to ourselves," she asked. At his command, the room began to clear. Finally, you were there alone with her. "I’ll never forget what you’ve done for me," she told you. "Maybe I’ll come back someday."
"I’ll be waiting. A Menzoran marriage contract is never truly broken. You’ll be my betrothed for as long as I live and breathe. I am yours if you ever decide you’re ready."
"And you’re alright with that," The Doctor asked.
"Perfectly content with it actually. I don’t think I could have made a better choice, accident or not. Take care, Doctor and maybe one day we’ll see one another again."
"I know we will." A smile lit up her face, that beautiful face, and tears welled in your eyes. "Promise I’ll come back. Walk me back to my TARDIS," she offered. You agreed.
Now standing face to face at the TARDIS door, you almost couldn’t bear to say goodbye. "I really will come back. I don’t go back on my word," The Doctor reassured.
"I’ll miss you."
"I’ll miss you too." At that, The Doctor darted forward, pecking a kiss to your lips. Her cheeks were burning a deep pink when she pulled away from you. You waved as she turned back in the doorway and when she left, you wept.
The Doctor returned to earth, nearly a full day from when she last left. Yaz and Dan were already waiting for her. "What’s got you so sad," Dan asked.
"Sad? Me? Not at all. Just bored waiting for you people to finish sleeping," The Doctor joked dejectedly.
"What did you do while you were gone," Yaz inquired.
"Oh you know, the usual. Had an adventure."
"Was it good?"
The Doctor smiled, bringing your face to mind. "The best," she replied.

Countdown to the Big Day: Two Hundred and Sixty-Five Days
“Wait, wait, don’t put that much glue on there,” you said, stopping Liam from making a big mess. “We only need an itty bitty drop, okay?”
You were working on a collage that would be displayed at your wedding reception. You wanted something that represented your relationship with Ari, so you thought a collage that the three of you could work on would be perfect. After all, you could find pictures that represent things that were important to your family, making buildings and symbols that meant something to your family. It was perfect.
Liam nodded, setting the bottle down and pressing the two pieces together so they’d stick together. “We did something like this in art class,” Liam said.
“Oh yeah? Your art teacher making you guys make her own wedding decorations?” you teased.
“No!” he laughed, shaking his head. “This whole collage thing. She talked about how we should make a story with the pictures and bits and pieces we pick out.”
“That’s right,” you said. You passed him a cut-out picture of a motorcycle, remembering how he’d said he wanted to find the perfect spot for it on the collage. “This is a very important story for me, you know. I’m glad you wanted to help me put it together.”
Liam hummed as he picked up the motorcycle, holding it above a few different places on the collage before finally setting it in front of a representation of the local ice cream shop. “Is Dad like the Prince Charming of the story?”
Your heart swelled slightly. No matter how many times Liam called Ari dad, it still warmed your heart and soul. “Yeah, I suppose he is. I’m really glad the two of you get along so well.”
“He makes you happy,” Liam said. “Plus, he’s really cool. Hey, did Dad tell you about how he was gonna take me for a ride later?”
“He did,” you said. Before you could ask more about where they would be going, Ari came up behind your seat, leaning down and pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “Hey, lover boy. We were just talkin’ about you.”
Ari picked up a bottle of glue and a cut-out of some flowers, adding a drop of glue to the back of it. “Yeah?”
“Mhm, Liam was about to tell me about the ride you two were going on later.”
“Yeah! We’re gonna go drive down to the park and we’re gonna play for a bit. And then we’re gonna go to that flower shop you like and surprise you with flowers and—” Liam’s eyes went wide as he looked at Ari. “Oh. I think I ruined the surprise, Dad.”
“Don’t worry about it, kiddo,” Ari said, smiling at him. “Besides, we can still surprise Mom with what flowers we get her, right?”
Liam nodded, smiling back. “Yeah, that’s right!” He looked at you. “We’re still totally going to surprise you!”
Yeah. Yeah, this was the most perfect story, and you couldn’t wait to see where it would take you.

Kit Tanthalos x OC
Big Masterlist
Masterlist
Chapter 15
The next thing I know is that the Gales chase us.
J: CAN’T  WE HAVE ONE MOMENT OF PEACE ?! ONE !?
Kit, Jade and I are again being chased by the Monster with the cage on its head. We try to Hide in an Alley but when dust falls on us we see that he is standing on the wall. We all scream and run. We run to the Others and Hide behind a wall.
K: How long can they keep us up for ?
W: The Crone won’t let them rest till they have Elora and have killed us.
G: If only they took the Time to get to know us. Right ?
I exhale.
Ja: Where to now Captain ?
G: We can’t outrun them, so where can we go ?
W: Into the Wildwood.
J: Yeah, great ! Another place that is said to be cursed.
I smile sarcastically.
G: She’s right, what about the you know, perils of the Wildwood ?
E: What Perils ?
W: People say there’s something in the Air, the Trees, the water, that makes you …
G: Never wanna leave.
J: Loose your will to do anything.
K: Trust me. We are not spending any more time in there than we need to.
E: Yeah, no way.
W: If anybody has any better Ideas, I’m sure we’d love to hear them.
The cage Monster lands in front of us.
W: RUN !
I get up and pull Kit with me. We run into the Woods. We have to chop little branches.
B: The Key is Vigilance. Stay sharp. The wildwood is seductive. It lures you in with its sights and sounds. The next thing you know you’re officiating Weddings and Dog-sitting for casual acquaintances.
K: Well, that’s not gonna Happen.
G: Personally, I’m still worried about the Perils.
We keep on walking. My hand gripping Kits and not letting go. We stop walking when we see tiny lights and Butterflies swirling around the Trees. It’s beautiful. Kit starts pulling me with her.
Ja: The Bone Reavers that Killed my Family fled into the Wildwood. Maybe they’re still here. Somewhere.
We make a pause. I sit down against a Tree Kit sitting next to me. I play with her Hands while Kit and Jade talk.
B: Listen Guys.
I look up
B: I know you all have your doubts about my integrity, motives, whatever. But I’m begging you to Trust me, when I tell you that no matter what happens next, I have a plan and everything will work out if you all just Remain …
Before Boorman can finish his sentence there is a Blade on my Neck.
B: Calm.
I Stare at him.
J: You could’ve just said Warning Danger stay Calm but nooooo.
B: Do you always have to be Sarcastic.
J: Yes.
The Bone Reavers  take us to their Camp. I see skulls as decorations.
J: Ah, just Lovely.
As we’re let go, I immediately go to Kit. She takes my Hand.
K: I’m fine.
J: Good.
?: Boorman.
B: Lori.
I look at him.
J: Lori ?
B: Toth’s first name is Lori but for some reason he’s insecure about it. Yeah Own it Lori. You know, make it yours.
He punches Boorman right on the Nose.
J: Thank you I would’ve done it If you hadn’t.
Toth points at me.
T: I like her.
?: Now, Now boys. Play Nice.
I look at a Woman. She looks interesting.
?: You don’t look dead.
B: Funny Story. Well not Ha-Ha funny. More like a “Ain’t life funny” kind of funny.
She walks down the Steps towards us.
?: You can Imagine my Surprise when Toth came back and said he’d run down a Tir Asleen cut-out. Five kids and a beanpole that Looked exactly like Thraxus Boorman.
I look at him.
J: What did you Idiot do ?
He ignores me.
B: You are entitled to an Explanation.
?: No one gets out of Skellin alive. Ever.
J: Sorry did you say Skellin ?
E: Skellin ?
Ja: Dread mines of skellin. In the Mountains.
J: Run by the Trolls.
B: What can I say ? Guess that makes me the Somebody who did.
?: I’m going to enjoy this.
B: Well, if you’re thinking what I’m thinking you’re thinking so am I.
J: Just shut up for Once.
?: I doubt that very much.
She looks at Toth.
?: Take him to my Tent and make sure he’s well tied up.
A man grabs him and pulls him there.
B: I don’t know. See, that Kind of sounds like we’re on the same Page.
I pull a disgusted face.
T: And the others ? Do you want em ‘ or should we just Fire up the old skull-boiling cauldron.
In an instant I push Kit behind me. But she steps in front of the Woman.
K: I’m Kit Tanthalos of Tir Asleen. I’m Queen Sorsha’s daughter.
J: My Love, what are you doing ?!
I lay my Hand on her Arm.
?: Scorpia. Well, actually, it’s her Sublime Eminence Mistress Magnificus Venoma Scorpia. But Scorpia’s fine.
J: Very nice to meet ya.
I pull Kit closer to me. Scorpia looks at me.
S: And you are ?
J: Me ?
She nods.
J: Jane Chander.
K: My Brother was abducted from our Castle.
S: Wasn’t us. Wasn’t, was it ?
She looks at Toth.
T: Mm- mmm.
J: It was servants of the Withered Crone.
K: We’re going beyond the shattered Sea.
The People laugh.
K: To rescue him. If you could find it in your Hearts to let us go. I’m sure my mother would repay the Favour.
J: And you can keep Boorman. He’s, like, The worst.
Ja: You're wasting your Breath. They don’t have a whit of Mercy about them, and they’re too stupid to realise what you’re offering them.
S: Maybe we won’t fire up the ol’ skull pot just yet. Lock the Nelwyn and the Pretty fella down the Borough. Toss these two in the Rattler.
She nods at Kit and Elora. They grab all four of them. Toth holds me and Jade. I start to struggle.
J: Hey let me go. No. Kit.
She looks at me.
S: We’ll keep those two here. They’ll make good sport.
K: Wait, what'll you do to her ?
Panicking, she looks at me and also starts to struggle.
K: Jane.
And she disappears from my view.
J: Don’t harm her. Please.
I look at Scorpia. She steps towards me.
S: Why wouldn't I ?
J: She’s pregnant. You can Kill Boorman. I don't care. Just leave her.
She looks at me and nods. Me and Jade get bound up outside.
J: You ok ?
Ja: Yes.
J: Good.
Ja: Really you would let her Kill Boorman ? Your Brother.
J: I would kill myself, if that meant keeping Kit safe.
Ja: What did you see in that Castle ?
I look down.
J: I uh …
Ja: Jane ?
J: We fought. Again, and I said that I couldn’t keep going like that. Then I just walked off. Uh … Then I heard her scream my name. I of course started running there and … there was a Door. Once I opened it she just laid there. Not breathing, not anything. She-She gave birth to the Baby. Alone. They  were both …
Tears run down my face.
Ja: That’s why you were Crying so much.
J:Boorman was carrying me cause I tried jumping out a Window.
Jade keeps quiet.
Ja. What ?!
Suddenly there is an explosion. We see Kit and Elora. Bone Reavers stand around them.
E: We don’t wanna hurt anybody, and nobody wants to get Hurt.
K: Oh, I will hurt you, if I have to.
E: Hurt you bad.
K: All we want are Jane and Jade. Where are they ?
J: We’re here.
She looks at us and walks to us.
J: I’m fine.
K: Cut them loose.
T: Afraid we can’t do that. Not without the Mistress's say-so.
E: I will melt your face off Lori !
T: We have a sayin’ for People who make Empty threats. They make nice Hats.
They grab both of them.
J: Hey let them go !
Scorpia walks to kit sarcastically clapping.
S: I applaud your Spirit Princess, but you really must loosen up, have some fun.
Jade frees herself from her Binds Grabs a Knife and holds it against Scorpia’s Throat.
Ja: I’m lots of fun and I’ve been waiting for this for a long time.
S: Oh gorgeous, I’m all yours.
And in the Next second Jade lays on her back and Scorpia lands a good Punch in her face. But jade fights back. It ends when Scorpia has Jade on her knees, her head tilted forward, and her Hair pulled up. Scorpia freezes. Then gets off her. Stunned, I look at her.
S: Take her to my Tent.
They’re in it for a few Minutes. When they come out Scorpia commands to make us free. I instantly walk to Kit and check her.
J: Are you ok ?
K: Yes, are you ?
I nod and she hugs me. I look at Jade.
J: What is going on ?

Certain Things
Okay, I promise that everything I post will not be a song fic. I'm just trying to share some pieces I already wrote before I start anything new. This is another character x reader, but this time they're getting married. This is one of my favorite pieces, and I hope you like it as well. Enjoy 😁
WC: 845
Song: "Certain Things" by James Arthur (bold italics are lyrics)
Deep breath.
Inhale…
Exhale…
I stared in the mirror, unable to recognize the woman that was staring back at me.
She was breathtaking.
Her hair was split into two braids that met into a bun and she had some loose curls to frame her face. Something simple, yet regal.
Her makeup wasn’t anything dramatic, either. Very natural, with a hint of glitter dusting her cheekbones. I met the woman’s gaze and my breath caught in my throat. The deep blue eyeshadow that decorated her eyes made the golden honey irises pop; it contrasted beautifully with her chocolate brown skin.
I glanced down at the woman’s dress. It was a navy blue ball gown that hung off of her shoulders. The sleeves were embellished with blue flowers, along with the bodice, which was cut into a deep V plunge.
She was also wearing a veil. It was clipped into her hair and trailed behind her like a cape. Her neck and earlobes were adorned with diamond jewelry that sparkled in the sunlight coming from the window. And on her left hand, there was a pear cut diamond ring on her ring finger.
The woman seemed to glow, almost as if… she wasn’t human. Yeah, that’s it. This woman was too graceful, too elegant. Ethereal, goddess-like, even. Her brown skin glistened in the light; she looked divine.
It was really hard to believe that the woman in the mirror was me.
Deep breath.
Inhale…
Exhale…
A knock at the door shook me out of my thoughts. I spared the woman in the mirror one last glance before turning around to open the door.
My dad was on the other side, fidgeting with his suit.I shook my head, smiling softly.
“Dad, stop,” I pulled his hands down to his side. “You’re gonna wrinkle your suit.”
I smoothed out his tux, picking off invisible lint to hide my own nervousness. “You look great, I promise.”
He nodded his head and took a deep breath.
“You ready?”
Inhale…
Exhale…
“Yes.”
Breathe.
“Alright. Let’s go.”
I looped my arm with his, holding on extra tight. I heard the music begin to play and I had to fight back my tears; my sister would kill me if I messed up my makeup.
This is it. This is really happening.
Something about you
It's like an addiction
Hit me with your best shot, honey
My dad led me out the room and down a short hallway. I left the decorations to my mother, so this is my first time seeing everything put together.
This is…beautiful.
It’s everything I imagined and more.
I've got no reason to doubt you
'Cause certain things hurt
And you're my only virtue
And I'm virtually yours
“Dad, I’m scared.” I kept my gaze straight, worried that if I looked anywhere else, I might trip.
I heard him sigh.
“Me too.”
We came to stand in front of a pair of double doors that opened to the outside. The glass was stained, so I could only see shapes and shadows of what laid on the other side.
Inhale…
Exhale…
There's something about you
It's when you get angry
You have me at your mercy
The doors opened.
Here we go.
“Don’t let me fall,” I whispered.
And you're like a shoulder to turn to
“Never.”
Cause certain things burn
Just when we're hanging on for dear life
We began walking down the aisle. I saw everyone stand up, but I wasn’t really paying attention- not to them at least. My eyes were locked on him.
We held on so tight
The love of my life.
And there’s certain things that I adore
I’ve never really thought that I would actually reach this point. Don’t get me wrong, I always dreamed of getting married and having a big wedding. Of writing my own vows, professing my love for my amazing partner. I just guess I never really believed something so grand could be in the works for me.
As we gazed into each other's eyes, I couldn’t help but wish that this aisle was shorter. I’ve finally found my happy ending, my happily ever after and I wanted nothing but to be near him. To hurry up and get this over with so we can begin spending the rest of our lives together.
We reached the altar and as was tradition, my dad placed my hand in his, giving me away. I heard a small sniffle from my dad before he went to sit down.
The song started to come to an end, with one verse left, one that I couldn’t help but sing along to as I stared into my future husband’s eyes. There was nothing, no one, except me and him; nothing else mattered in this moment.
I brought my hand up to his cheek as the tears began to spill over. He leaned into my touch and kissed my palm. I saw nothing but love, happiness, and complete joy in his eyes. I smiled as I sang the last few words quietly.
“Certain that I’m yours.”

Chapter 76: Call Sign, Pt 1
Emma stared at Jace, as he glared right back at her, as if trying to intimidate her. But she wasn't going to bite.
"Am I supposed to be scared of you?" she asked.
"'Cause staring daggers at me doesn't change the fact that we found over on million dollars worth of meth in your place, Jace," Emma added.
"I'm just thinking about the best way," he answered.
"The best way to what?" Emma questioned.
"To hurt you the most," he said, in a matter of fact tone.
"You see, I don't forgive. And I don't forget," he added.
"I get not turning on your little brother. But, I mean, Kory? I mean... why'd he even keep you around? You're a liability, a slab of meat with a temper. At least that's what he said," Emma goaded.
~*~
"I'm sorry. What did you just say?" Kory asked.
"You're telling me you're not the mastermind behind all this?" Killian asked.
"You have a vivid imagination, detective. I'm just a bus driver," Kory answered.
"Oh, you wanna play dumb? Fine by me. I mean, you're gonna go to prison for so long you're gonna forget what a bus actually looks like, much less drive one," Killian said, pausing for effect.
"Or...you can tell me what you know about your partners, and we can cut a deal," he added.
"But I don't know anything!" Kory insisted.
~*~
"I know you're scared. And I know you've had a clean sheet up until now," Ruby said to the youngest brother.
"So, what?" Pete asked.
"So, I want to help you. But you need to help me first," Ruby answered.
"I can't," Pete said regrettably.
~*~
"Three for three. Looks like no one's caving tonight," Ruby said, as the three of them stood outside the interrogation rooms.
"Nope," Killian said, as he handed her the files and Ruby left to do the paperwork.
"Are you all right?" he asked. Emma sighed and he knew.
"No, of course you're not," he answered.
"I mean, you've seen the way that these cases play out. Separate trials, different defense attorneys, all claiming that their client doesn't know anything, while pointing at an empty chair creates reasonable
doubt. They all walk," Emma replied.
"That all that's bugging you?" Killian questioned.
"The way that Jace looks at me, the way that he talks to me, it's like he can see right through me. It's like he knows that…" Emma said, trailing off. She didn't even want to think it.
"You think...it's connected to the Calling? "Let him go"?" he asked. She scoffed.
"I don't know," she replied.
"Well, let's let 'em sweat it out overnight. We'll take another stab at them in the morning, before they get on the bus to Rikers," Killian said.
"Um, yeah, small problem. I'm...I'm not available," Emma replied.
"What? You were all fired up, wanting answers. Where do you have to be that's more important?" he asked. She looked at him.
"I'm getting married," she confessed. He frowned and swallowed thickly.
"Wow," he said numbly.
"Tomorrow?" he asked.
"Neal is dying, Killian. He's got two days left. I shouldn't even be here, but I can't help but feel like Jace knows something…something that could help save Zeke," she replied.
"I'm sorry, Emma," Killian said sincerely.
"He wants a final celebration, instead of being hooked up to the machines at the hospital," she said," as she looked at him.
"Look, I'm...I'm sorry. The last thing that I want to do is cause you pain. MM asked if I wanted to invite you. I told her I didn't even want to tell you, let alone have you stand there at…" she rambled, but he cut her off.
"Emma…Emma. It's okay. I'll be there," he promised, as he took a deep breath.
"What can I do?" he asked. She looked at Jace through the glass.
"Get me a conviction," she requested.

It had been extremely short notice, but she had pulled it all off in short order. The caterers, the decorations, the minister, the guests, and all the details. Between her, David, and Robert, the wedding was
coming together in just hours and their house was currently being transformed into a wedding and reception venue.
Margaret looked at the dress she had picked out for Emma. She felt a little uneasy about her sister-in-law not being with her to pick it out herself, but she said she trusted her and wanted her to help her
with it. So she did and she hoped Emma liked it.
"Wow…that's a great dress," David said, as he came into the bedroom.
"Almost as beautiful as the one you wore on our wedding day…but I might be a little biased," he said. She looked at him with a big smile, as she recalled one of the happiest days of their lives.
~*~
Flashback
People had always told him that he would be a bundle of nerves on his wedding day or even that he might get cold feet. But David felt none of that. He had wanted to marry Mary Margaret Blanchard since the day they met when they were just eight-years-old. So when she entered and was escorted down the aisle by his father, he wasn't surprised that he could barely breathe. She floated toward him like the angel she was and he couldn't believe how lucky he was to have found her. Honestly, the whole wedding ceremony seemed like a formality to them. They had been married in their hearts for a very long time now. This seemed like it was just to prove it to everyone else. They had been joined mind, body, and soul long ago and today would only cement their eternal bond.
~*~
"I remember every moment of that day…and night," she said, as he leaned down and kissed her passionately.
"Me too…most everything is ready. Dad is finishing up on hanging the twinkle light and the caterers are here," he said.
"How did he take it when you told him that Emma wanted us to walk her down the aisle?" she asked.
"He said he was going to insist anyway…since we raised her mostly. He said he's happy to hold Eden for us," he replied. She nodded and swallowed thickly.
"I…I can't help but think about what she's facing. She…she might lose…" Margaret said, but he swept her into his arms.
"Hey…hey…we can't think that. Not yet…we don't know that this is the end," he admonished.
"But if it is…then this is me in three years," she said, as tears slipped down her cheek.
"I can't say goodbye to you again. I never said it the first time…I never let you go," she cried, as he hugged her.
"And you won't have to. We're going to figure this out," he promised, as he kissed her again. She sniffed and wiped her tears away.
"I can't go to pieces. Emma will be home any minute," she said.
"She'll be fine…we'll get through this, but hopefully, we won't have to," he replied.
"Come on guys…it's my wedding day. No tears," she teased, as she came into their bedroom and they hugged her between them.
"I hope you like it," Margaret said, as she looked at the dress.
"It's perfect," Emma said.
"And I hope you'll wear this…as your something borrowed," Margaret replied, as she handed her a box. Emma opened it and smiled. It was the veil and tiara that Margaret had worn on her wedding day.
"I kinda hoped I'd get to borrow this," she said, as she tried it on.
"You look beautiful," David said, as he hugged her.
"Thanks," she replied.
"I know this is a dumb question…but how are you doing?" Margaret asked. She shrugged.
"I want to marry him…but I think I'm still processing that doing this means letting him pull the plug on his own life," Emma answered.
"Oh honey…" Margaret said, as she hugged her.
"We don't know that it means that yet," David admonished.
"David…he has one more day. I just feel like we should be doing something, but I know he'll never forgive me if I make him go back to the hospital," Emma said.
"Then we follow his wishes. It's all we can do and then we hope the Callings come through. They haven't given us a reason yet to think that they won't," David replied. Emma
had yet to tell him that, for the first time, she had defied a Calling by arresting Jace and his brothers. She had no idea what the untold consequences of that might be and she was worried that, in doing so,
it might cost her the man she loved.
David would freak if he knew. He was adamant that they had to follow the Callings to the letting or there would be no surviving the Death date. The butterflies in her stomach were gigantic and she sat on
the bed, trying to take deep breaths.
"Emma…if you're not ready for this, Neal will understand. He just wants to be with you," Margaret said. She nodded.
"It's not that…it's just this case at work, but I don't want to talk about that now," Emma replied. Margaret suppressed her instinct to press and took a page from her husband's book and didn't push. Emma
would tell them about it when she was ready.
"Dad...the caterers are ready to set up," Olive said. She smiled.
"That's my cue to vacate while you get ready," David replied, as he kissed Emma's forehead and then pressed a kiss to Margaret's lips.
"Okay…hair and makeup time," Olive said, as she came in with her makeup case and the task of readying Emma for her big day commenced.
~*~
Regina stalked into the hospital that afternoon and made a beeline for the nurse's station.
"Dr. Whale…" she called, as she approached.
"Dr. Mills…you've been fired. I suggest you leave or I'll have to call security," he said.
"I need my research!" Regina demanded.
"There are patients that are gravely ill that I need to treat and I cannot do that without access to my research," she added.
"I want to help you…but the decision to fire you was made by people well above my head," he claimed.
"They're trying to pull my license!" Regina said.
"Exactly…which only the NIH can do. What you should be asking is, is there anyone in the government that has a reason to shut you down?" Whale asked. It hit Regina like a ton of bricks at that moment.
The Major…that had to be it. She was back. Whale walked away and Regina hurried out of the hospital. She had to find Vance.
~*~
"Hey…it's the groom," David said, as he answered the door. Neal, Gold, and Belle entered the residence and Henry hurried up to them.
"Hey buddy," Neal said, as they shared a hug.
"I know that it's not a real bachelor party, but I thought we could play vintage video games for yours," Henry replied. Neal smiled.
"That sounds like the best bachelor party ever," Neal said, as he followed the boy to his room. Belle smiled and kissed Gold on the cheek.
"I'll go see if the girls need any help," she said, as she headed for the bedroom.
"He's being strong…but he's fading fast," Gold said.
"I know…but we still have to have hope. For what it's worth…I know how you're feeling," David replied. Gold nodded curtly.
"Yes…I suppose you do. Your son was saved…I just hope mine will be as well," he said.
"I usually don't drink, because of my dad's history, but I think we can make an exception this time," David said, as he headed for the kitchen.
"I could definitely use a good belt," Gold agreed.
~*~
"Do you have any idea where your mom keeps the sheet pans?" TJ asked, as he dug through the kitchen cupboards.
"Not since my dad turned our entire garage into the Upside Down," Olive joked.
"I'm gonna look over here," TJ said, as he dug through some more cupboards.
"So, uh... winter break's coming up, and I was wondering if you wanted to go skiing," Olive mentioned.
"Oh, uh... I'm not really into skiing," TJ replied.
"Okay, well, I'm open to any other ideas," Olive said.
"Yeah, maybe we can talk about this later? I'm sorry. It's just hard to focus with the Wedding and finals," TJ replied. Olive nodded.
"Sure," she said, as she went to busy herself with setting up chairs.
~*~
"Man…I either really suck or just forgot how to play all these," Neal said, referring to the vintage games.
"I'm pretty good," Henry boasted, as they downed their sodas.
"Oh man…sugar rush. We better lay off or we'll crash before my first dance with Emma," Neal joked.
"Do you think we can still beat the death date?" Henry asked.
"I'm not sure, buddy. What do you think?" Neal asked.
"Well…before the plane disappeared, no one thought it was possible to beat my cancer, but here I am," Henry replied. Neal smiled.
"Guess we can't lose hope then," he said.
"Another round?" Henry asked, as he handed him his controller.
"I'll go easy on you this time," he promised. Neal smirked.
"Don't get too cocky, kid. I might just get my edge back," he said, as they engaged in another game.
~*~
"Wow…you look amazing," Ruby said, as she arrived.
"Thanks…any news?" Emma asked. Ruby sighed.
"You really want to talk shop now?" she asked.
"Lay it on me," Emma replied.
"Okay…well, there is this," Ruby replied, as she pulled something up on her phone.
"And if you're just joining us, we're covering the recent explosion of a meth cook house. Less than a day ago, the NYPD arrested three suspected drug dealers in possession of over one million dollars in
product. It was only hours later that their cook house exploded," the reporter said, as Ruby paused the video.
"How could it explode?" Emma wondered.
"I don't know…it's definitely fishy," Ruby replied. But then Emma realized what the Calling had meant.
"Let him go…" she murmured. If she had obeyed the Calling, Jace and his brothers would be dead right now. Instead, they would probably walk after a trial, especially now with the cook house gone.
"Killian is taking one more stab at them…before they go to Riker's, but unless…" Ruby said.
"Unless we find some evidence or they confess, the DA may not seek charges," Emma said, finishing her thought.
"I'm sorry…I shouldn't be giving you this kind of news on your wedding day," Ruby said. She forced a small smile.
"It's okay…I asked," Emma replied.
"Enough of that…let's get you married," Ruby said. For the moment, Emma put it out of her mind. Killian still had a chance to get one of them to flip and she knew he would do his best.
~*~
Killian saw the three suspects being loaded into the prison bus for Rikers and he stalked toward them.
"Hey!" he called, as Jace turned to him with a smug smirk.
"How'd you do it?" he asked.
"Do what?" Jace asked.
"Empty cook houses don't blow up for no reason. Arson on a crowded block like yours? That's attempted murder," Killian taunted, but Jace was stone faced.
"I'm guessing your buddies are not gonna think twice about cutting a deal," he added. Jace smirked.
"They're more afraid of me than they are dying in the joint. You should be, too. Once we're out, I'll be coming for you, right after I pay a visit to your little blonde girlfriend," he hissed. Killian snarled and
tried to go at him, but was held back by a couple of uniformed officers. Jace laughed.
"See you soon, Detective," he said, as he boarded the bus. That was it. He had failed and Jace was the type to make good on his promises. He shrugged the officers off and headed off. He promised Emma
he would come to her wedding, even though he wasn't sure how he was going to get through it.
~*~
"Hello?" David answered his phone.
"David…it's Regina, I need your help," she said. He frowned, noticing that she sounded frantic.
"Of course…what's going on? We were wondering where you were," he said.
"Yeah…sorry, I got fired and locked out of my lab. All my research…it's been seized," Regina said.
"Oh my God…what can I do?" David asked.
"My research might be the only way to save Neal. I need to get in contact with Vance. I know you know how," Regina replied.
"In emergencies…yes," he said.
"Don't you think this is one? David, they're trying to pull my license. Only the NIH can do that. This has the Major written all over it," she replied.
"Yeah…you're right. Okay, I'm sending the emergency text and I'll send his call to you," David said. She sighed in relief.
"Thank you," she replied.
"Just get here…" David said.
"I'm on my way," she replied.
~*~
On the bus to Riker's, Jace exchanged glances with Kory and Pete and with a nod, they began their plan. Kory pretended to start to convulse.
"Hey!" Pete called to the guard and the driver, who seemed uninterested at first.
"Hey…he's having a seizure or something!" Pete called, as Kory fell to the floor, faking convulsions, but it was apparently convincing enough.
"We've got a problem…pull over," the guard called to the driver, who did brakes squealed and the hydraulics of the bus hissed, as they came to a stop on the side of the road.
Once the guard came back to check on him, Kory stopped convulsing and punched the guard out. The driver went for his gun, but Jace rushed him and overpowered him. Jace beat him badly, as Kory
cuffed the guard.
"Hey!" Kory called.
"You want to be a cop killer too?" he questioned. Jace smirked.
"If it's the right cop…let's go find her and get back what's ours," he said, as they took the guns and trekked on foot back to the city.
~*~
"Thanks for coming," Margaret said, as she hugged her step-sister.
"Of course…I wouldn't miss it," Regina replied.
"I know…but David told me what happened. This is so unfair. You saved Henry's life and who knows how many other children with your cancer treatment. It's outrageous," Margaret said. She smiled thinly.
"Thanks…but the fact that the Major shut me down means something. I just have to find her," Regina said.
"David hasn't heard back from Vance yet, but he insisted it was an emergency in the text he sent from the burner phone Vance gave him. He'll get back to us soon hopefully,"
she replied. Regina nodded.
"Until then…I could really use a drink," she said. Margaret smiled.
"Of course…I made sure we got some hard apple cider, just for you," she said, as they went to the kitchen. The wedding would soon commence and once Vance responded,
Regina hoped she could pinpoint the Major's location and get the answers that Neal so desperately needed…

Dwayne Pride x Reader #38, and #40 THANKS 🥰
38. “wow, you’re hot.”
40. “I want to take a shower so you should probably join me. It’ll save water.”
Tuxedo and sunglasses
You were nervous. It was time for your family to meet your boyfriend Dwayne and that made you anxious. You knew your family and how they were, they can be very judgmental and you didn’t mention Dwayne’s age. He’s not that old, but he’s still older than you and you were scared would say something about. It wouldn’t change the way you feel about the man, but still.
You and Dwayne had to drive two hours to reach your hometown. He was behind the wheel, wearing a shirt with the sleeves rolled up. He was wearing his sunglasses and you couldn’t quite believe that he was yours. All yours. After looking at him for a moment, you reached for his grizzled hair and passed your hand in it. He smiled and took a quick look at you. “You okay darling?” He said, squeezing your thigh where his hand had been resting.
“Yeah. Just thinking about how lucky I am,”
“Trust me, I’m the lucky one.” He gently grabbed your hand and kissed your knuckles.
Tumblr media
Introducing Dwayne to your family during your cousin’s wedding wasn’t probably the best idea. But when you received the invitation, he didn’t hesitate to tell you if he’d be your plus one if you wanted him to.
Now that you reached the venue, there was no turning back.
You walked into a few members of your family on your way to your bedroom. Dwayne was absolutely charming with them, he was confident about his presence and you loved that in him. He was your rock, through it all, even the smallest things.
You had a couple of hours before the ceremony. Once you reached the room, Dwayne immediately started to undress. “I want to take a shower, so you should probably join me. It’ll save water.” He smirked and pecked your lips.
“Don’t need to say it twice.” He took your hand in his and you showered together after having sex under the water. You probably didn’t save any water at all, but you were perfectly satisfied.
Before you were completely ready, your mother called you and asked you to meet her. “It’s okay, angel. I’ll meet you downstairs.” Dwayne told you as he was putting his shirt on. Wrapping your arms around his mid section, your hands traveled in his muscled back. You slowly kissed him, all teeth and tongue and moaned. “Go before second round.” He chuckled. You pecked his lips one more time and walked away. “You’re so damn sexy, Y/N.” He said before you left the room.
Your mother was waiting for you in the bride’s room. You greeted everyone - mother, cousin, aunt and the bridesmaids - and asked why you were there. “I wanted to check your look before the ceremony.”
Rolling your eyes, that didn’t surprised you. You loved your mum but she was a superficial person, like most members of your family. You didn’t fight though and let the makeup artist took care of you. “So, that Dwayne of yours—“ here it goes. “I was told that he’s charming,”
“He is.”
“And older than you.”
“What if he is?”
“How old?”
You never answered to your mother and and cut short to this conversation, telling her that if she wanted to know him, she’d have to talk to him. As you were finally ready, you were glad that you had a long briefing about your family with Dwayne.
You found him outside. He was looking at the decor, wearing his perfectly tailored tuxedo and you felt out of breath. The man was absolutely gorgeous. “Wow,” you grabbed his attention, “you’re hot, Dwayne Pride.”
Laughing, Dwayne spin around to show off. Then he gently wrapped his arm around your waist, bringing your body against his. “You’re hotter, Y/N Y/L/N.” He kissed you, “I’ve never seen you wearing that much makeup before.”
“Yeah, didn’t have a choice. I warned you.”
“And I thank you for that, because in the ten minutes I’ve been here, at least six people came to ask me if I was rich.”
“Oh god, D. I’m so sorry.” You buried your head in his neck.
“It’s okay, angel. I don’t care what they think, and neither should you.”
“I love you so much.”
“Love you more. Come on, let’s get this over with.”
To be honest, the ceremony was truly beautiful. But to you, the most amazing moment was after the celebration when everybody was gone and Dwayne invited you on stage with him, where he played the piano and sang just for you.

“Where do you see yourself in five years?” Lana asks.
Nesta closes her eyes, letting the picture swirl and take shape in her mind.
This time last year, she would have imagined nothing. Nothing but a desk in a busy law office, and maybe a nice apartment if she was lucky. That would be it. But now she sees…
“Somewhere with good food and good music,” she muses. “Maybe a sea breeze.” The sun-faded buildings of Portofino fade into the foreground of her imagination. “There are lots of people with me,” she hears the sound of children shrieking and Cassian’s rumbling laughter, “but it’s okay, because I love every one of them.” Her eyes open. “Is that a good answer?”
A near invisible smile tugs at the corners of Lana’s lips. “You tell me, Nesta. Do you like what you see?”
“It’s a little too cinematic if you ask me,” Nesta says nonchalantly, picking up her bag from the ground, “but I suppose all dreams are that way.”
“It’s a good dream,” Lana says. “A worthy dream, and one you deserve to chase.”
Nesta shrugs lightly, not too worried about the burden of the future for once. “Maybe I will.”
“In that case, congratulations on completing your final therapy session,” Lana says, setting her notebook aside. “You’ve made some amazing progress this year.”
Nesta gives her therapist her signature what’s-wrong-with-you look. “I’m going on vacation, not firing you for good. I’ll see you again in two months.”
“Two months can be enough to lose all your progress, if you forget everything you went through to get here.”
Nesta isn’t stupid. She knows that she isn’t suddenly desperate to make babies or be maid of honor at her sisters’ weddings or some bullshit. She knows that the image she just dreamed up, with Cassian and kids and her unburdened heart, is likely more than five years away. If it happens at all, it could be ten, even twenty years of hard work away.
She’s not nearly finished growing yet. “I’ll see you in two months, Lana,” she repeats.
Lana smiles at her fully this time. “Enjoy your summer, Nesta.”
***
The air is different in the Smokies.
Nesta rolls the truck windows down so she can inhale it, relish it. Wind whips her hair every which way as they drive down the winding freeway cutting through the lush mountains, and something about the look on her face makes Cassian chuckle and press down on the accelerator.
Nesta watches the red needle on the speedometer cross ninety, then one hundred. She can barely feel the June heat with how fast they’re going.
In the end, it was Feyre and Elain that reached out and invited her to the Tennessee summer home. Cassian had made it obvious that he wouldn’t push her to go if she didn’t want to, and at first she really didn’t want to. But Feyre had looked so hopeful when she asked Nesta to come with them, and even Elain had revealed a glimmer of eagerness that Nesta would say yes.
So against all odds, she agreed to go.
Exchanging one mountain home for another isn’t much of a getaway, but Nesta can’t help but be excited. Even with the unhappy memories of her childhood, she loves these hills more than any other.
The pure exhilaration of being back in Tennessee overcomes her at some point during the drive, knocking her out in the passenger seat where she sits. In her drowsy state, she distantly hears the windows being rolled up, before feeling Cassian’s hand guide her head to rest against the glass. The rest of the drive is warm and sunny, enough to lull her into a deep sleep.
The next thing Nesta’s aware of is the crunch of gravel and the feeling of the truck tires slowing to a stop. Fingers brush against her heated cheek, and then Cassian is murmuring at her to wake up.
Blinking her eyes open, Nesta twists around to see their destination.
For a moment, she thinks she’s still dreaming.
“Welcome to Holly House,” Cassian says with a grin. The house in question is quaint and sprawling at the same time, the way most upper class Southerners like their houses. The whole thing gleams with a fresh coat of white paint under the afternoon sun, complemented by a sky blue wraparound porch. Colonial style windows and proud columns decorating the facade of the building makes it look like the setting of a fairy tale.
Beyond it, Nesta can see cherry blossoms. Pink, fluttering cherry blossoms that fly off their branches and swirl through the air, some of them disappearing into the thick woods behind the house. Woods that Nesta has walked countless times before.
“The rest of the guys won’t get here until tomorrow afternoon,” Cassian is saying to her, “so we have the whole place to our—”
Nesta isn’t listening anymore. She unbuckles her seatbelt and shoves open the truck door, hobbling outside on unsteady feet to make sure she isn’t hallucinating things. But no, this is…
“Cherrywood,” she breathes, eyes wide in disbelief.
Cassian gets out of the truck, coming up beside Nesta to slip his hand into her shorts pocket. “What’s wrong? You okay?”
“This is Rhysand’s summer home?” Nesta points at the house. “This place?”
Cassian looks around at the building grounds in confusion. “Has been for the last two decades, yeah.”
It’s been eleven years since she last stepped foot on these grounds.
With wonderment in her voice, she utters to Cassian, “I’ve been here before.”
At his puzzled look, she explains, “I lived just on the other side of those woods.” She points to the trees. “There’s an old cracked road that hasn’t been maintained since it was first paved, and you can follow it straight to the poor side of town. Whenever I wanted to get away, I would come down that road and trek through the woods, and I’d end up here. I stopped coming because…” she trails off.
Because she got caught that one time.
Cassian seems to realize it at the same moment as her. His hand slips out of her pocket. “You…”
Nesta remembers a tall boy with shocked eyes and shaggy hair, and she shakes her head slowly in forceful denial. It can’t be true. It’s too much of a coincidence.
But he points at her, then her feet. “You—with the size six Converse,” he sputters. “It was you.”
Before Nesta can confirm or deny it, he grabs her by the wrist and starts tugging her along, up the porch stairs and inside the house.
Even with Rhysand and Feyre’s renovations, it looks undeniably the same as all those years ago. The living room is to her right and the farmhouse style kitchen and dining area is to the left, though she speeds by it all as Cassian pulls her farther inside the house, to the closet beneath the curving stairs.
He lets go of her hand to search the small closet, muttering, “I know they were here somewhere.” But the closet looks like it was stripped empty for renovations, with only bolts in the walls indicating that shoe racks used to hang there.
Cassian turns and heads for the stairs, and Nesta blindly follows him. She also wants to go upstairs, wants to see if the bay window looking out onto the garden has stayed the same.
Like he read her mind, he leads her straight to the room she used to spend hours reading in. It’s smaller than all the other bedrooms in the house, but it’s always been her favorite because of the view.
As Cassian keeps looking for whatever it is he’s looking for, upturning boxes and checking beneath furniture, Nesta drifts toward the bay window. She looks from the cherry blossom trees outside, to the full-sized bed, to Cassian, and a weight drops even heavier in her gut. She has to reach out and grip the edge of the dresser for support.
Finally, Cassian pops out of the closet victorious. In his hand are a pair of ragged shoes that Nesta hasn’t worn in a long, long time.
He comes over and drops them with a thud at her feet.
“Whose room is this?” she asks with a rough voice, still staring down at the shoes.
“Mine,” he answers simply.
“Oh.” She met him before. She met him before.
When Nesta dares to look up and meet Cassian’s eyes, what she finds there nearly robs her of breath: wonder, astonishment, and unwavering fealty. He breaks into sudden wholehearted laughter, which dazes her even more.
“What’s so funny?” she demands.
Cassian gets out between laughs, “What was it Rhysand said about Feyre? When they found out they were close to crossing paths when they were younger?”
Nesta’s earth-tilting shock slowly slips away, replaced by a stern look. “Don’t say it.”
He pretends to remember. “I think it was fate.” A wicked smirk pulls at his lips at Nesta’s resigned sigh. “But I have another word for it, too.”
“Don’t say that, either.” She pleadingly holds up her hands, only for Cassian to snatch one out of the air and intertwine his fingers with hers.
“Soulmate,” he says quietly, now less amused.
Nesta swallows thickly, not having any words for him. All she knows is that he is never going to let her live this down.
“Imagine if we’d gone to the same high school,” Cassian says to her later that afternoon as they lounge in his old room. “Fuck, I could’ve saved myself so much time with all those random girls.” They’ve been swapping childhood stories for the past hour, as if they might find more instances in their history of a red string tying them together.
Nesta doesn’t need coincidences or fateful run-ins to know that a string has always been wrapped around her ring finger, pulling her to Colorado and to that cabin. But for Cassian’s sake, she’ll gladly amuse him. “I would have been a freshman while you were a senior,” she says matter-of-factly. “It never could have happened.”
He hums in thought, head propped up in his hand, elbow propped up against the bay window seat. “Maybe if you were older. You would have been the smart, quiet girl, and I’d have been the player jock, and as soon as we locked eyes in math class, I’d be head over heels in love with you.”
Nesta cackles from where she sits in the window seat above him. “Now you’re just writing fanfiction.”
Cassian grins up at her but doesn’t send a rebuttal her way. The conversation falls into a lull, until Nesta has to reach out and ask, “What are you thinking?”
His smile turns a little sad. “That I wish we weren’t doing this right before I leave for another country.”
Right. That’s what’s been hanging over them the entire trip to Tennessee: that as soon as they get back to Colorado, Cassian is going to be on a plane to Milan.
Getting Keith O’Connell to quit—how exactly Cassian went about accomplishing it, he still won’t tell Nesta—left Rhysand at square one with his search for a team leader for his overseas venture.
When Cassian brought up the idea of taking the job to Nesta, he sounded like he hoped she would shoot him down, talk him out of it. He both wanted to go and was reluctant to leave, like his very soul was glued to his home and he didn’t want to unstick himself.
So Nesta, being his home, had to do the unsticking for him. She nearly accepted the year-long Milan position herself for Cassian’s sake, and it took weeks of coaxing and convincing to put him at ease about the whole thing.
“But we promised to go together for the first time,” he kept saying.
“We’ll still go together one day, and it’ll still be our first time there with each other,” she reassured him.
Eventually, he relented to her and Rhysand’s pressures with a single condition. “I’ll do six months. Not a year.”
Only Nesta knows deep down how much Cassian needs this opportunity. Though Cassian must know it a little bit too, because he wouldn’t have taken the job if he didn’t.
Nesta might have needed him in order to come out of her shell, but now he needs to get away from her in order to find his own shell. Something he can call his own, unburdened by his loyalties to the people he loves. So he can find who he wants to be for himself, without always being attached to her hip.
Rising to her feet, Nesta raises her arms in the air in a full body stretch. Her back and legs ache with being curled up in that window seat for so long without movement.
Dropping her arms, she holds out a hand to Cassian still sitting on the floor. “Come on,” she urges him. “Let’s go outside. I haven’t seen a Smoky sunset in years.”
“But it’s not evening yet,” he argues while taking her hand.
Outside, they explore the garden that leads into the woods while waiting for the sun to slink down the sky. Cherry blossoms ride the summer breeze wherever it takes them, resulting in Cassian sniffling and scratching at his neck as they walk hand in hand.
“Rhysand wanted to take these trees down and replace them with a flower garden for Elain,” he tells Nesta as they walk. His sinuses sound clogged, but he’s refused to go back inside until he’s explained every inch of the land to Nesta. “I convinced him not to because it would ruin the view from my bedroom window. Didn’t I make the right choice?” He throws a grin in her direction.
Nesta’s swallow is tight at that grin. “The view from your room was always my favorite part about the entire place. So yes, you did good.”
His eyes widen at that tidbit of information, and she can almost see him tucking it away as more Soulmate Evidence.
They stroll through the woods for a while, and Nesta points out the path she would take to get to Cherrywood—she still insists on calling it Cherrywood, even when Cassian argues that the house’s original name has been around since the sixties.
“Show me the rest of the way?” Cassian asks her, face lit up in boyish hope. “Show me where you ran away to that day I found you.”
Nesta almost expects the memory of the rundown apartment complex she grew up in to feel like being shoved into sludge: dirty, cold, and slimy. Instead, she finds she has no problem with looking back at her old home, no matter how many ugly memories she holds from there.
However, the dappled sunlight streaming in through the trees overhead has turned from yellow to dark gold, and she shakes her head in apology to Cassian. “Another day,” she promises him. “It’s almost sunset.”
They walk back to the house, rounding it until they reach the front. At the bottom of the hill that the house is perched on stands a pier that leads all the way out to the lake. Green mountains frame the lake from both sides, creating the perfect cradle for the sun to sink into.
They go all the way out to the edge of the pier, as if they’re trying to get as close to the sunset as physically possible. Dragonflies lazily swoop by as the lake is gradually painted in a hundred different colors.
Once there’s more darkness than light in the sky, Cassian nudges Nesta with one of the arms he has around her. “Look.” He points.
Along the shoreline of the lake, little dots of light have lit up to welcome the evening, their blinking glow so small that Nesta almost doesn’t catch it. Fireflies.
Nesta watches the insects flit in and out of the long grasses of the lake shore, getting tangled in the weeds and wildflowers. In that moment, she remembers something Cassian once confessed to her not long after his birthday.
I want to see more beautiful places with you.
Nesta ticks this beautiful place off the long list in her head—the first place out of many that she plans to see with Cassian.
More beautiful than the scene before her is the man in her arms. The man who was kind enough to understand a woman who barely understood herself, and to be her friend when she had none. The man who is extending his kindness right now by not having made any breaking-and-entering jokes about Nesta so far, though she’s sure he’ll pull them out eventually.
Discovering that she once found Cassian, just to let him slip by running away from him, only to find him again over a decade later—it comforts the tiny part of her that’s loath to say goodbye to him in two weeks.
Like Cassian is thinking the same thing, he murmurs into the dark, “I can’t wait to come back to you.”
Nesta huffs in amusement. “You haven’t even left yet.”
“I know.” After a moment, he adds in a low voice that not even the fireflies can hear, “Thank you for convincing me to go.”
She reaches up to squeeze his bicep. “Always.” And then she adds what she really wants him to hear: “Don’t come back until you find what you’re looking for.”
“I better find it quick then,” he jokes. Still, he nods in promise against the side of her head.
The only sound after that is the chirp of cicadas and the occasional lap of water meeting the pier beams. Nesta and Cassian stay outside in the June heat long after the sky turns ink blue.

mr & mrs smith | b.b
in which bucky and y/n go undercover
pairing: bucky barnes x reader, platonic/romantic undertones
word count: 2k
warnings: none
Tumblr media
undercover missions were usually fun. coming up with a character and a backstory was something y/n enjoyed doing the night before the mission. this time, however, her character and story were already decided.
“you two,” tony stuck his head around the corner of the door into the common room and beckoned with his finger. “come with me.”
y/n shared a confused glance with bucky from across the room. they had both been sat on opposite sides of the common room, bucky reclined on an armchair, head in a book, and y/n sat in the windowsill, her head also buried in a book.
shrugging, y/n headed after tony, bucky following suit, wondering whether they were in trouble or not. when they got to tony’s office, bucky took a seat next to y/n, bouncing his leg up and down unconsciously.
y/n put a hand on his leg. “it’s alright,” she said, flashing a reassuring smile.
bucky smiled back, awkwardly patting y/n’s hand as it rested on his leg. he never knew how to respond to physical affection.
“alright you two,” tony chucked a file across the desk to them. y/n took her hand off bucky’s leg to read through it. “got an undercover mission for you. this time, i decided your aliases.”
“what?” y/n complained. “that’s no fun.”
“quite the opposite,” tony said. “you two are in the honeymoon suite.
bucky choked in surprise. y/n’s jaw dropped.
the two weren’t the best of friends, but they weren’t enemies either. y/n was always kind to bucky, and very physical in her affection. on multiple occasions, when going to bed, she would hug everyone good night, including bucky if he was in the room. bucky tried not to think of it personally, she did it with everyone of course. but sometimes it was the only physical affection he got for days.
“you couldn’t have picked someone more compatible? like bruce and nat?” y/n suggested.
“vision and wanda?” bucky chimed in. the thought of going on a mission with y/n made him nervous, because she made him nervous.
tony shook his head. “has to be you two. this mission requires a particular skill set. you spend the night in the honeymoon suite, plant some bugs, secret cameras, y’know?”
“why?” y/n asked.
“after you two check out, a prominent member of a terrorist organisation will check in with his equally prominent new wife. see what information you can get, hm?”
-
y/n chucked her suitcase into the trunk of the loan car. “i’m driving,” she announced.
“why you?” bucky asked, leaning against the car, dressed in dark jeans, a plain t-shirt and a zip-up hoodie to cover the majority of his metal arm.
“you’re an old man. plus you don’t have an actual licence.”
bucky protested as y/n climbed into the driver’s seat, starting the engine. grumbling to himself, he got into the passenger seat. “here you go,” he said, handing her a gold ring. “goes on your left hand.”
“yeah, i know,” y/n muttered, slipping the ring on her finger. she held her hand out, admiring the wedding band. bucky put his hand next to hers, wearing a matching band. “i always thought if i was marrying a hundred-year-old man, he’d be my sugar daddy.”
“i can buy you a coffee at starbucks,” bucky offered.
y/n chuckled. “you know what? i’ll take it.”
bucky watched y/n from the passenger side as she drove. the pair drove for an hour until they passed the nearest starbucks, where bucky bought them both a latte and a pastry for the rest of the journey. another half an hour and they arrived at the grand hotel tony had booked for them.
they each grabbed their suitcase from the trunk. “okay, metal man,” y/n murmured. “keep your left arm hidden behind my back.”
“no shit, captain obvious.” y/n elbowed him in the side. “yeah, that’s exactly how a newlywed couple would act,” he said sarcastically.
“okay, newlyweds starting now.”
the two walked into the hotel, suitcases in tow. bucky’s metal hand was on the small of y/n’s back, hidden from the view of the receptionist as the two of them checked in. for him, it felt strange to be touching her like that, but y/n showed no signs of even acknowledging it.
“hi,” y/n greeted sweetly, in a voice bucky had never heard before. “we’ve booked the honeymoon suite.”
the receptionist typed something into the computer. “mr and mrs smith?” she asked. bucky and y/n nodded, fake smiles plastered on their faces. “third floor, let me just get your room key,” she headed into the backroom.
“mr and mrs smith?” bucky whispered.
y/n rolled her eyes. “must have been tony’s idea of a joke,” she whispered back.
“i don’t get it.”
“never mind.”
the receptionist had returned, handing y/n a room key. “enjoy your stay,” she smiled.
“thank you,” bucky and y/n said at the same time, heading up to their room.
-
inside the honeymoon suite was beautiful. there was an expensive-looking chandelier in the middle of the ceiling, gorgeous floral wallpaper adorning the walls. on the walls also hung beautiful paintings and embellished mirrors. at the back of the room, there was a huge, decorated bed. just one.
“there’s only one bed,” bucky pointed out.
of course, there was only one bed, it’s the honeymoon suite. bucky hadn’t thought of this.
y/n abandoned her suitcase and flopped down on the massive bed. “it’s a movie.”
“what’s a movie?” bucky asked as he sat awkwardly on the edge of the bed beside y/n.
“mr and mrs smith,” she explained. “angelina jolie and brad pitt play a husband and wife who are both assassins, but neither knows about the other because they work for different agencies. until they get assigned to kill each other.”
bucky chuckled. “sounds good, actually.”
in the golden light reflecting off the ornately carved, brushed-gold headboard, y/n looked ethereal. bucky took in her exquisite facial structure, the way her hair splayed across the pillow where she had laid, how her eyelashes fluttered against her cheeks as she closed her eyes.
“about the bed situation,” y/n said, snapping bucky back to reality as she opened her eyes to look at him. “you mind sharing? it’s pretty big and i don’t take up much space.”
bucky just shrugged, not really sure what to say.
“it’s okay if you don’t want to, you can tell me,” y/n reassured.
“no, it’s fine, honestly,” bucky replied, not entirely convincingly.
y/n got up from the bed, picked up her suitcase and opened it on the bed. she rummaged around underneath a bunch of microphones and cameras to pull out a bikini. looks like we’re filming a porno, bucky heard her mumble under her breath.
“i’m heading to the pool, wanna come?” y/n asked, disappearing into the bathroom, leaving the door slightly ajar.
bucky tapped his metal arm. “can’t.”
when y/n came out of the bathroom, she had on a simple black bikini. she threw on an oversized shirt, grabbed her towel and her book. “alright, i won’t be too long,” she said, heading out the door.
-
happy to have some time to himself, bucky made his way out onto the balcony, taking a seat in a sun-lounger and started reading his book. it took him a while to get the image of y/n in her bikini out of his head, but eventually, he managed to focus on his book. in the midday heat, he slipped his t-shirt off over his head, shirtless in the sun.
he had been so lost in his book that he hadn’t heard y/n come back, or realised how much time had passed.
“whatcha reading?” y/n asked, surprising bucky. she was sat on the sun-lounger on the other side of the balcony, her shirt also discarded on the floor like buckys.
“i didn’t hear you come in,” bucky murmured.
“that’s the point,” y/n shrugged, opening up her book.
“to kill a mockingbird,” bucky answered her question. “saw it on a list of ‘ten books everyone should read’. have you read it?”
“yeah,” y/n used her hand to shield her eyes from the sun as she looked at bucky. “i really liked it. you enjoying it?”
“so far,” he said.
y/n diverted her attention back to her book, but bucky found it difficult to do the same. y/n’s body was exposed, leaving little to the imagination. bucky wasn’t yet used to the new way women dressed nowadays. he most certainly wasn’t complaining though. her hair was damp, slicked back and trickling droplets across her bronzed skin. her face was makeup-free, glowing in the sunlight. her long legs...
“what?” y/n asked, noticing bucky staring at her.
his cheeks flushed as he mumbled, “nothing.”
“i can cover up if it makes you more comfortable?” she offered, not unkindly.
“no, it’s fine,” he spoke louder now. “i think it’s great that women can wear whatever they want now.”
“you sure?” she checked.
bucky cleared his throat, closing his book. “yeah. i’m gonna take a cool shower now anyway, too hot.”
he headed inside, leaving y/n in her bikini on the balcony.
-
by late evening, y/n and bucky had ordered room service for dinner and were now sat opposite each other on the humungous ornate couches. between them was a glass coffee table, holding two glasses of red wine. bucky was already on his second glass.
"so," y/n said, making conversation. "you think nat and bruce will ever make it official?"
bucky looked confused. "is it not already official?"
y/n shook her head. "nat talks my ear off about it, how she's not sure if she should make the first move or wait for him to."
y/n wore a pink silk pyjama shirt and matching shorts, exposing her long legs, which she crossed in front of her as she sat. she took a large gulp of wine and carefully topped up her glass. bucky wore dark sweatpants and a dark t-shirt.
“why don’t you have a boyfriend?” he asked, the wine giving him an edge.
y/n looked slightly amused. “what?”
“why don’t you have a boyfriend? or girlfriend?” he added.
“i guess i haven’t found the right person,” y/n shrugged.
he contemplated this for a moment. “so, are you...” bucky cut himself off. “never mind. none of my business.”
y/n knew exactly what he was going to ask. “a virgin? no, i’m not. you?”
“no.”
“i didn’t think so,” y/n said with a smile.
bucky frowned. “what’s that supposed to mean?”
“well, have you looked in the mirror? you’re not exactly ugly,” she said with a laugh.
bucky wasn't sure how to interpret that. he wasn't used to compliments, nor was he used to speaking so openly about sex. did that mean y/n thought he was good-looking? perhaps he hadn't been mistaken all those times he thought y/n hugged him just a bit longer than everyone else.
he didn't say anything, just poured himself some more wine.
"why don't you have a girlfriend? or boyfriend?" y/n threw bucky's question back to him.
bucky thought for a while. he hadn't really thought about having a relationship. he didn't think anyone would want to be with someone with as much baggage as he has. but he didn't want to share that with y/n. "haven't exactly figured out this modern dating," he said, taking a sip of wine. "don't like the idea of going on a date with someone i haven't even met."
"i tried it once," y/n confided. "nat dared me, a few weeks ago. didn't go very well."
bucky raised his eyebrows. "why not?"
"men are pigs," y/n shrugged, not wanting to go into much more detail.
perhaps she wasn't interested in bucky then like he had thought for a second there. ask now, he thought, while its the topic of conversation.
"there's got to be someone you like though?" he asked.
he watched her shoulders rise and fall as she sighed, contemplating. "it's not a priority for me, i guess. if i find someone, cool. but i'm not looking. i think love just happens sometimes, you can't always look for it."
"i'm sorry your date didn't go well," bucky spoke lowly. "anyone would be lucky to have you."
y/n chuckled. "you think?"
"i do."
"you're real sweet, you know that?" y/n smiled softly at bucky. "anyone would be lucky to have you, too.”

Sitting in your room, you couldn’t stop yourself from checking your phone.
With your champagne glass in hand, you swirl the liquid around as the girls laugh loudly, causing you to zone back into the conversation. As you lift your head up, you notice them all focusing on you.
“You doing okay over there?” Wanda asks.
Nodding in response, you slide off the bed, leaving your phone behind you as you return to the conversation.
“Can you believe its come round so fast?” You turn to see the Pepper beaming, barely able to contain her excitement.
It’s true, the big day has crept up on you sooner than you had anticipated. After shy of fourteen months of planning, arguments with Tony and Steve about the decor and nearly calling it off twice you’ve made it. Tomorrow will be the day you become his wife.
“I still can’t believe I’m going to be someone’s wife.” You think aloud, a look of shock in your eyes as you gulp the last bit of champagne in your glass.
As you reach for the bottle sitting in the cooler, Natasha bats your hand away. “Not happening. I’ve been strictly instructed you’re not allowed more than two glasses tonight.”
Raising a brow to her, Natasha adamantly shakes her head. “Who told you that, Nat?” You question as you lean back against the bed, watching as the girls look to one another.
“Steve.” She quietly announces, trying to remain composed, but it is short-lived as you all stifle a laugh. “I’m being serious!” She states through a chuckle as you fall into Wanda, feeling the champagne already going to your head.
“Oh, the irony I love it.” You giggle, letting out a soft sigh as your conversations continue but you let your mind wander, thinking about Bucky just a few doors down.
*
“So you’re stuck in here?” Tony questions, looking around the large room and nods to himself. “Nod bad, I mean for the average joe.” He adds and looks back to Bucky, seeing him lying on the bed and staring at the ceiling.
“You’re the one who booked the hotel, Tony.” Steve reminds him, and Tony simply shrugs his shoulders.
“I just want to see her.” Bucky releases a heavy breath, thinking of you and swearing he can hear your laughter through the walls. “Just one quick hug, tell her I love her and that’s it.” Bucky suggests, forcing himself to sit upright.
Yet, he’s greeted by Steve shaking his head. “Not happening. You made Nat and I promise to not let you see each other until the big day.” He reminds Bucky who rolls his eyes. “Traditions, Buck.”
Rolling his eyes, Bucky shrugs his shoulders. “I know, I know, but I also really miss her.” Bucky admits.
Despite it having only been three days since he last saw you, it’s hard to keep away from one another. Both of you are magnetic together, unable to be kept apart. It’s obvious when one misses the other as your mood changes instantly. Yet, once he’s back you’re more perky, even if it is a brief visit.
Even during missions when you're kept apart, you're always on his mind. The moment when he arrives back at the compound you're there to greet him with open arms and vice versa. You were his rock, and he was yours.
“You going to sulk all night then?” Sam questions, watching as Bucky runs his fingers through his hair. “Take that as a yes.” He mutters under his breath, noting the sadness radiating from Bucky.
After a few hours, everyone heads back to their own rooms leaving you and Bucky in your rooms alone. Knowing the coast is clear, you reach down for your phone and call him. You might not be able to see him but to hear his voice will be enough for now.
Seeing his phone light up, Bucky's instincts heighten as he grabs it, nearly crushing it in his grip as he answers. “Hey, doll.” He answers cheerfully and is greeted by a small chuckle down the line. Even the sound of your laughter is uplifting as he smiles to himself, wishing you could be in his arms.
Forcing yourself upright, you hug the pillow against your chest, wishing it could be him. “How’s your night going?” You ask him, unsure what else to say.
Bucky sighs heavily through the phone. “Rough. Steve’s been trying to keep me distracted all night.” He admits with a short laugh.
“Same with Nat, even for an assassin her distraction tactics aren’t up to scratch and Pepper just keeps going on about the finishing touches whilst Wanda nursed the champagne.” You joke, but Bucky remains quiet on the other end of the line.
Hanging his legs over the edge of the bed, Bucky notices his curtains remain ajar, illuminating the empty pool on the ground floor. “I miss you so much. And I know it’s just one more night, doll, but I just wanna give you a hug.” He tells you truthfully, and you wish he could see your bright smile that melts his cold heart.
“But traditions, Bucky,” You start, but Bucky cuts you off.
“Fuck traditions. If I want to see my future wife I doubt it’ll be the end of everything.” He states. Through the line you can hear him moving around his room, now standing in front of the window, seeing no one wandering the grounds of the hotel. “Meet me by the pool in ten, okay?”
You giggle like an excited child breaking the rules. “See you in ten.” You tell him before hanging up and rush around the room, not dissimilar to how you did before your first date all those years ago.
Natasha couldn't believe how much mess one person could make whilst getting ready, but you just wanted it to be perfect. "He's such a good guy, Nat. I don't wanna screw this one up." You tell her as you emerge from your bathroom in a simple sundress, looking up for her approval. "Well?"
Rising to her feet, Natasha reaches over for your shoes. "He'll love it, I mean he's already smitten." Natasha nudges you, hearing movement outside of your suite. "And clearly you are too."
"Shut up," You brush her comment off, but Natasha keeps her eyes on you. "okay fine." You sigh in defeat, turning on your heels as you reach across for your bag. "I like him, I mean what is there not to like? He's charming, a true gentleman and makes me laugh. Plus I mean look at him." You chuckle.
"Good enough for me." Natasha states, walking over to your door and opens it, revealing Bucky stood with wide eyes and a light blush across his cheeks. "Treat her well, Barnes." Natasha remarks as she exits your suite with a smirk on her face.
Silently, you walk out of your room and close the door slowly behind you. Natasha is staying in the room beside yours and she promised to listen out and watch you like a hawk. Creeping down the corridor, you slip your keycard into your pocket as you reach the lift, unable to wipe the smile from your face as the doors close in front of you.
As you reach the pool, you can already see him standing there, waiting for you. “Hey, future husband.” You call out quietly, walking toward him.
Bucky turns around instantly upon hearing your voice and steps forward, wrapping his arms around you tightly, longing for the sense of comfort you always provide. “You have no idea how fucking happy I am to see you.” He mumbles into your hair as you remain in his arms, not wanting to be the one to let go first.
“Me too. I missed you.” You mutter back to him, feeling him pulling away just to see your face as he smiles at you. “Can you believe we’re getting married tomorrow?”
He raises an eyebrow, unable to stop his smile from growing at the thought. “I definitely can. Been waiting for this day since I proposed.” He thinks aloud, something you haven’t heard him say.
“Really?” You ask softly, feeling your heart-melting as he nods to you.
“Well of course,” He states as his hands slide down your arms and into your hands, intertwining your fingers with his. “I couldn’t wait for you to become my wife, for us to start this whole new journey. I just couldn’t wait until tomorrow to tell you that I love you, and always will.”
You can feel tears building in your eyes as Bucky shushes you. “I can’t help it,” You chuckle, taking one hand and wiping your eyes. “planning this has been so hard and I just want it to be perfect.” You admit, closing your eyes as a small whimper leaves your lips.
“And it will be.” Bucky reminds you, knowing how many sleepless nights you’ve had over the little details from the bridesmaids’ dresses to what cake topper you should have in between missions. Even when you were hospitalised after a mission went sideways, you had your laptop on hand to work on the invitations. “But as long as we’re together, it doesn’t matter.”
“Yeah,” You nod with a small smile. “as long as I have you, I’ll be happy.” Slowly you stand on your tiptoes, kissing him.
Your arms rise from your sides and wrap around his neck whilst his wander down to your waist, his cool metal arm sending goosebumps over your skin. As the kiss becomes more passionate both of you can’t help but crave what normally follows, but it’s one more night, you can wait.
Unbeknownst to the both of you, Natasha and Steve sit in his room. “Honestly, they’re hopeless.” Natasha sighs, looking up to see Natasha nodding in response.
“Hopelessly in love, Nat.” Steve states, causing Natasha to roll her eyes and feign vomiting. “And besides, you’re the one who set them up all those years ago.”
“How was I supposed to know they’d fall in love? I was just trying to help Y/n get over her ex.” Natasha reminds Steve. “You played a role in this too, Cap.”
Steve nods. “We did good, didn’t we?”
“Yeah,” Natasha chuckles, raising her glass to Steve. “we did good.”
Despite the sweetness of it all, and you both being unable to keep a tradition Natasha and Steve knew they should just let you get on with it. You have a lifetime together ahead, why stop you the day before it all begins?
Pulling away, you rest your forehead against his. Both of you are slightly breathless, eyes still closed. “There will definitely be more of that to come.” You giggle, quickly pecking his lips before starting to head back inside, Bucky hot on your tail.
As you stand in the lift together, your hand remains in his. “I guess, until tomorrow, Mr Barnes.” You tell him with a smile as you take out your keycard, watching the doors of the lift open.
Walking down the corridor, Bucky’s room is first and your hand slips out of his. “Wait,” He whispers to you and you turn around, tucking your hair behind your ear. “I just wanna look at you one last time before you’re my bride.” He says with a tooth aching smile.
Slowly, you twirl for him and hold back the laughter bubbling in your throat. “How’s that?” You whisper and he nods to you.
“Goodnight, Y/n.” He whispers back before slipping into his room, locking the door behind him as you wander back to your own room and lie on the bed, unable to wipe the smile from your face.
