Is there a reason why people especially on tumblr are becoming so obsessed with rewrites and redesigns of things they dont like? like 5 years ago if you really didnt like a piece of media you would hate watch it and constantly post about it, or if you were normal youd just ignore it. but nowadays theres this obsession with "what couldve been" and like, trying to "fix" these bad or at times problematic shows/books/movies. and i dont want to stifle anyones creativity but a lot of these rewrites are like. not good. . . and i think it's because theyre born purely out of spite, and it's assuming that you know better/are a better writer than the person who created the original media. and sometimes you are but sometimes you arent. but besides that it just feels very obsessive ? like theres a difference between critiquing/disliking a piece of media and going out of your way to say that you couldve done it so much better. and like. Whats the point? I get its because theres this idea of "this thing has potential but is bad because of the creator" but idk sometimes you just gotta let it go. like yeah sometimes media is bad but you just gotta let it be bad. you can still watch/read it even if its bad, you dont have to "fix" it just to prove how bad it is.

I dont know I dont have an actual answer to this. This is entirely me rambling about this phenomenon ive noticed on tumblr and tiktok. pls lmk your thoughts if u have any

Not to preach to the choir but I wonder if people generally realize that AI models like ChatGPT aren't, like, sifting through documented information when you ask it particular questions. If you ask it a question, it's not sifting through relevant documentation to find your answer, it is using an intensely inefficient method of guesswork that has just gone through so many repeated cycles that it usually, sometimes, can say the right thing when prompted. It is effectively a program that simulates monkeys on a typewriter at a mass scale until it finds sets of words that the user says "yes, that's right" to enough times. I feel like if it was explained in this less flattering way to investors it wouldn't be nearly as funded as it is lmao. It is objectively an extremely impressive technology given what it has managed to accomplish with such a roundabout and brain-dead method of getting there, but it's also a roundabout, brain-dead method of getting there. It is inefficient, pure and simple.

Eggs for Killie is over!

I award myself the 150th egg for all of the little bits of art. Thank you so much for inspiring me to make them! It’s been really amazing to see all the hard work and to truly appreciate the wide range of crafts and activities everyone can do. Bobbin lace? Shoemaking? Knife forging? Translating Irish? It’s genuinely incredible.

I also really appreciated the people who were taking a rest, too. Thank you for that as well.

And I SUPER, SUPER appreciate everyone who was going through saying encouraging words, leaving replies/reblogging with comments, or liking all these posts. That was also a huge outpouring of kindness and time. I saw you doing it (and tried to make sure OPs did too) and any credit for people feeling empowered? That’s for YOU.
