"So, you're Izuna?"
"I am... if you want me to be."
"All I want from you is an answer!"
"It doesn't matter who I am. I'm here for you, Tobirama. See? I'm real."

I do rly love sh1 and 2 but as janky as sh4 is the stuff that's actually in the room itself compels me so so much that it's my favourite despite the earlier titles being much more interesting as a whole 😔

honestly, the inspirations for silent hill 2 were some of the best produced media’s ever. crime and punishment, jacob’s ladder, etc. it’s genuinely astonishing how well team silent managed to create something so similar yet so distinct at the same time. it did an outstanding job taking these parts of media and incorporating it into a game with a whole different plot.. i feel like i could ramble on about this game for hours, if u havent played silent hill 2 yet pls do!!!

absolute favorite is Spookys Jumpscare Mansion, its a major comfort source fr fr
fnafs 1-4 are also absolutely amazing in my opinion, and onaf 2 is pretty fucking good too despite the issues with the creator
i love ib (another absolute favorite banger)
and then ones i havent played yet are ones like among the sleep, Faith (i fucking LOVE faith i love the faith trilogy so fucjing much augwaugwaugehdgd!!!!!!), a lot of scp games look good, any good backrooms game is immediately a beloved (like the backrooms 1998 looks so good)
ive seen good things about amnesia, but I haven't been able to properly get into it yet, same with silent hill
im not sure if these fully count, but i also love sally face (havent played yet), and anything released by Rusty Lake (aiwgauysus!!!!! theyre so fucjing good......), and forgotten hill is pretty banger too tbh, i like the art styles for all three

I first learned of signalis from you, I believe, and I've been on a bender for horror games ever since... Anything you'd be able to recommend along those lines? I'm starving here
MAN ME TOO
Signalis hit a high for me that i dont think ill really find with many other games. ive never rlly played many horror games so theres not a whole lot i can recommend ;-;
They arent all necessarily horror (youve probably heard or known abt most if not all but its all ive got ;-;) but theres something in them that reminds me of signalis in various ways:
Silent Hill 2 and Dead Space lol (i had to say them)
Iron Lung, short indie game with a really cool premise that leaves a lot to the imagination. theres barely any story but the opening lines leave so much to the imagination and the setting go really well together. is fun to ponder,
MyHouse.wad, a doom mod that blew up. this project has so much to it. both tech, design, heart and love put into it, transcends being just a game and it ends up being something else entirely. if you havent heard abt it, i recommend playing blind and then looking into how to do the rest of it cuz, the game was made in a way that no one person can discover everything. it was made to be a community effort
Dredge, people call this horror but it never tries to be scary, its horror is closer to outer wilds imo where, its the players initial lack of familiarity/comfort that makes it scary, the gameplay is super great and cozy actually. 10/10 fishing/exploration game, good eldritch themes and execution.
Inside, and "older" (like 2016 lol) game and its super great. one of my favorite kinds of games are the ones that are "we made a 2-4 hour game and most of our efforts went into polishing it" the puzzles are fun and theres a morbid humor to them often, the scifi horror setting and story is wonderful and left me itching to look up posts and videos theorizing it

my two best friends when i play bg3 with them i had to show them a few small details they missed out on bc they just bulldoze through any/every game they play, thats just their style. meanwhile i load and reload and make multiple saves just to get through a single dialogue tree.
since im already (still) in act 3 i just let them take lead on whatever they want to do, my character is a bard and we roleplay that im following them, regaling and sprucing up their tales.
one friend (richard) i was playing with didnt do Any quests, i just followed him straight from the grove into the goblin camp and we rescued halsin. Nothing else done in act 1 LMAO. I was like, hey... you wanna - and he would say NO where is the fucking druid. we're getting the fucking druid first. o7 yes sir. he is ON a MISSION.
my other friend (brandon) likes to explore but isn't like. obsessively observant as I am. hes also extremely impulsive. so i helped him find the secret door in the grove when he wanted to break out the goblin after several tries of him just. trying to sneak her out the way we came /cries. i also helped him find the owlbear cave, and i knew for a fact hed want scratch so i showed him where to get him.
i LOVE playing with my friends. my blood pressure gets so fucking high when we play games because they dont look at ANYTHING.
i was backseat gaming with richard a while back who was playing silent hill 2, one of my favorites right. a game specifically about symbolism and looking at things and solving puzzles. he had been playing before i came over, i sat down and i almost have a heart attack when i look at the map and saw he did NOTHING. he was IN the HOTEL and like. he wasn't opening any of the doors. I was so flabbergasted by how he made it that far without. exploring anything. he called me over to help him because he was stuck and i just. "WHY havent you LOOKED at anything, theres THINGS in these rooms!!!" and he was just. "Im scared <:]"
GOD i love my friends. *clenches fist* my blood pressure is SO NORMAL.

🔥 How many special interests do you have at the moment?
Bwuhhhh i wanna say 2 bc im constantly bouncing between Stardew Valley and Silent Hill....as per LOL but the Caves have been tempting lately........I think it will probably replace sh for a minute
💎 When and how did you discover your special interest?
I bought stardew valley on sale during the lockdown and the rest is history. Played it all day every day for a couple weeks as in wake up play sdv go to sleep and repeat it was all i did for a long time. I emulated silent hill a couple years ago and played 2 first, which rewired my brain in a way i STILL havent recovered from, and caves. Well I watched a video about nutty putty, followed by more caving accidents/videos, and then the interest shifted from accidents to the caves themselves
💫 Favorite fact about your special interest?
>in sdv you cant eat pickles because ca didnt want to make an animation for fishing them out of the jar/as soon as the update rolled out that let you have an aquarium in your home, someone tweeted a picture at him of a sea urchin with a hat and within the hour he patched in the ability to give your sea urchins hats
>one of pyramid heads inspirations in sh2 is a quote from jacob's ladder: "If you’re frightened of dying, and you’re holding on, you’ll see devils tearing your life away. If you’ve made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth." I like the implications here a lot
>Like 5 years after Plura cave in Norway reopened, a couple got married there :) I just think its fun but also its a nice story to balance out the disaster that got the cave closed in the first place. Reading about their personal experiences cave diving is an interesting detour from what you might usually expect
