There's a great disturbance in the fandom about whether Sabine is Force-sensitive or not. So let's take a look from the beginning.
In A New Hope, Obi-Wan explains the Force as:
It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us; it binds the galaxy together.
And according to George Lucas himself:
Tumblr media
In Rebels, Kanan uses Obi-Wan's explanation for the Force more than once. There's an important conversation in Trials of the Darksaber, which is related to this and to Sabine.
Hera: Or maybe because she doesn't have the Force, you don't believe she can do this?
Kanan: No. The Force resides in all living things. But you have to be open to it. Sabine is blocked. Her mind is conflicted. She's so expressive and yet so tightly wound. She's so...
Hera: Mandalorian.
Kanan: Very.
Kanan never says Sabine doesn't have the Force. On the contrary, Hera says she doesn't have it and Kanan says no. What Kanan says implies that Sabine does have it, she's just not open enough to wield it.
Keep those quotes in mind for later.
Now, we have to address the Bantha in the room: the midichrolians. We're introduced to this concept in the prequels trilogy, I believe. It serves as a more technical explanation of the Force. The SW fandom wiki offers this definition:
Tumblr media
Again, the midichrolians are in all living organisms because the Force resides in all living things.
As far as the movies go, we don't know how high the M-count has to be for someone to be able to wield the Force. We just know Anakin has a count of over 20.000 and that it's a very high number, so he's very strong in the Force.
We can assume that the higher the midichrolians, the more aptitude the user has in the Force.
I'm guessing Sabine has a low M-count, thus limited abilities in the Force because of this line in episode 2 of Ahsoka:
Huyang: I have know many padawns over the centuries, and I can safely say your aptitude in the Force would fall short of them all.
Some people interpreted this line as "Sabine isn't Force-sensitive at all." What I understand from that line is that Sabine sucks at using the Force.
Either way, midichrolians haven't even been mentioned in the show, but I've seen people talk about it regardless. I find most discussion of this kinda pointless because there's not much to go on, so we can only speculate.
Moving on. In episode 3, Ahsoka trains Sabine blindly so she has to rely on the Force to see. I think a lot of people missed that Sabine did, in fact, use the Force in that scene. Watch carefully.
youtube
2:16. After Sabine has grown impatient for not succeeding, she finally manages to sense Ahsoka's presence (she still couldn't see and Ahsoka didn't touch Sabine) and fight a little, until Ahsoka stomps on her foot and Sabine falls to the floor.
Ahsoka: Anger and frustration are quick to give power. But they also unbalance you.
Why would Ahsoka say that in the first place if Sabine hadn't used the dark side of the Force? She probably struggles with the light side because it's so different from what she's used to as a mandalorian. It's more aligned to her nature.
Later in the same episode, this conversation takes place:
Sabine: I can't use the Force. I don't feel it. Not like you do.
Ahsoka: The Force resides in all living things. Even you.
Sabine: If that's true, then why doesn't everyone use it?
Ahsoka: Talent is a factor. But training and focus are what truly define someone's success. Not everyone can handle the type of discipline it takes to master the ways of the Force.
This fits perfectly with Obi-Wan's quote and what George Lucas said in the interview. This is consistent within the Star Wars universe and Dave Filoni's previous work.
It does not break the canon, it does not retcon anything. We simply hadn't seen before someone training to use the Force and struggle so much with it.
And to me, that is far more interesting than having every single main character being just overly and naturally competent with the Force. You don't have to be the Chosen One to use the Force, you just have to have enough determination to put in the work.
Back to Ahsoka. In episode 4 (the latest episode that's come out since I'm writing this) Sabine manages to do a very slight Force push during her duel with Shin. I know many people will disagree with me, but just watch the scene again.
youtube
1:22. Shin disarms Sabine and knocks her to the ground. Sabine extends her hand and Shin is slightly pushed back. Her arm falls down, her head turns to the side.
I've seen multiple people say Shin did this in anticipation (when has anyone everyone done that?) and that Sabine didn't Force push her. But the thing is, there's a Force push sound effect. Listen closely. It's faint and short, but it's definetely there.
I think Shin's line also confused a lot of people.
Shin: You have no power.
This is not "Sabine tried to use the Force and failed and Shin reiterates it." Again, there's a Force sound effect. That should be proof enough that she's somewhat connecting to the Force. They wouldn't put it there if she wasn't using the Force.
I think Shin and Baylan, as sith/dark jedi or whatever they are, see the Force only as a means to power. That's what Baylan is seeking with all this anyway: power.
Someone with low Force-sensitivity like Sabine would seem totally powerless to them. Everyone has been telling Sabine she's not good enough for it (Huyang, Shin, even Sabine herself.)
So, you can totally disagree with me on this, but I personally interpreted that line as Shin telling Sabine to quit while she's ahead. If she'll never be as powerful as the rest of them, why even bother to try? But Sabine, as the stubborn mandalorian she is, still continues to try.
I think Dave Filoni is painting a very clear picture: Sabine can indeed use the Force, but she's not naturally skilled at it. I think she might still have some sort of block from it, like Kanan said. The show seems to be slowly building up to her wielding the Force more succesfully, though. Starting small, one step at a time.
With Sabine's decision (she didn't have much choice, if you ask me) near the end of episode 4, I do wonder if Sabine will be a dark side user. Shin and Baylan use the dark side but they don't seem to be consumed by it. We'll just have to wait and see.
I understand that people think that Sabine being Force-sensitive diminishes her character, but so far I don't think that's the case. She still uses her blasters and some mandalorian tricks up her sleeve. This just adds another layer to her character. Natasha Liu Bordizzo said in an interview somewhere that Sabine changes fighting styles frequently, and I think we'll see more of that soon.
As long as Sabine stays true to her mandalorian ways, I'm fine with it. How cool would it be to have a mandalorian-jedi in the mandoverse? Sabine has been kind of disconnected to her mandalorian heritage for a long time now, and I'm sure she won't be a regular Jedi, if a Jedi at all. She's a special breed, one of a kind. Who knows, maybe she'll help to bring balance to the Force after all.
If Bo-Katan can walk both worlds, then so can Sabine.

I know you did a soft Obi-Wan headcanon for panic attacks, so can you do one for Padmè?
I feel she isn’t getting enough love in the headcanon department…
Reacting to Reader having a panic attack: (Padmé Amidala x Reader)
A/N: You're so right. This queen never gets enough love so I am more than happy to help change that. I also hope you like it - sorry it's taken so long. Life has been ... difficult recently for a whole bunch of reasons, but I'm getting back into this slowly. 💕
Tumblr media
Masterlist:
------
We all know Padmé is all about finding practical solutions to challenges, just as much as providing you with comfort and reassurance.
She will learn, as best as possible, any and all triggers you are able to identify for her.
You can also bet your ass she will be doing as research as possible, reading up on anxiety and what causes it, how to help cope with it etc.
She is also keen to develop some kind of signal between you both, one verbal and one physical, that you can give her should you ever feel an attack coming.
If you are alone when you have one then she will be at your side throughout - something that also applies if she happens to be busy at the time.
It doesn't matter if she is stuck in a meeting or at event, should you give her a signal then she will make sure one of her aids can escort you somewhere quiet and private until she can come join you.
She will then make her excuses as quickly as she possibly can - something she assures you is actually a relief, rather than an inconvenience given some of the characters she is forced to interact with on a daily basis.
"That man is odious and would likely have just babbled on for hours, trust me. You did me a favour here, my love. I promise. It's ok - don't worry. It doesn't matter now. Just try and breathe for me."
Even if she is keen to try and provide you with practical assistance, she is incredibly keen to support you emotionally too. I mean, we see this in the films (and the series) when she often handles Anakin's emotional episodes.
She would be incredibly patient with you, and ensures to listen, and take things at a pace that feels okay for you.
She will help you try and control your breathing, and is keen to help you ground yourself.
Once you are able to communicate better she is keen to determine what she can do for you, whether it be getting you a glass of water, a blanket, or taking you to lie down in your bed.
Regardless of what it is you need, she is quick and eager to serve. No request is too big or too small, not even for a senator and ex-queen like herself.
You are the most important thing to her in the entire galaxy and she would go above and beyond to ensure you are well taken care of and loved.

I need some happy angst in my life right now so here’s Fives living and getting to find Echo.
Once again, posting things from my fic that I think appeal to a wider audience. Ever since I saw Echo was alive, I knew I needed Fives to have been there. It was a pleasure writing this version.
Again, sorry my usual followers, this is stuff in the fics.
Today’s Sample: Fives learns what Rex discovers and comes along on the mission to rescue Echo.
The context: Fives lives and Ahsoka stays with the 501st. Also Ahsoka has super charged Force powers that cripple her if she uses them too much. She leads the mission to go get Echo. Also Fives and Crosshair one hundred percent got into a fight. (oh and Tup lives too)
Anyway, I hope you enjoy!
General Skywalker was serious as they explained what had happened.
“I’ll talk to the Council.” He said. “But we will be getting permission.”
Rex knew that meant they were going whether or not they got actual permission. For once, the General was acting as his old self again.
“Go and talk to Fives.” He said. “He’ll want to know.”
“Thank you, sir.” Rex said.
General Skywalker patted Rex on the shoulder.
“I’ll let you know when we can leave.” He said. “And I’ll see if that Bad Batch can give us a hand.”
Rex and Ahsoka turned to leave before the General spoke again.
“Oh, and Rex?” He said. “I’ll need your- help later, okay?”
Rex repressed a sigh.
“Yes, sir.” He said.
“You’re only back a few days, and he’s making you stand watch during his little meetings with Padme?” Ahsoka asked once they were on the way to the barracks, shaking her head.
“It’s all right most of the time.” Rex said. “Just as long as General Kenobi’s not around.”
Fives was waiting at the entrance of the barracks for them.
“Rex, Ahsoka.” He said as they approached. “Tup said you had something important to talk to me about?”
“Yes.” Rex said.
“We’ll go to my quarters to talk about it.” Ahsoka said.
Fives’ frown deepened, but he followed them to the small room Ahsoka stayed in.
“Take a seat.” Ahsoka said to Fives, gesturing to her cot.
Fives did so, looking between them.
“Whatever it is, I didn’t do it, okay?” He said.
It was a weak attempt to diffuse the tension, Rex knew, and Fives’ grin slipped away as Ahsoka and Rex continued to look grim.
Rex gave the outline of the mission: that they suspected an algorithm that could predict Rex’s plans.
“We found a live signal at the Separatist Cyber Center. From a being on Skako Minor.” Rex said. “When we asked who it was-”
Rex took a deep breath. He hoped he wasn’t wrong in opening this wound.
“It said it was CT-1409.”
Fives’ eyes widened, his nostrils flared, and he stood immediately.
“When do we leave?” He demanded.
Rex and Ahsoka shared a look.
“Fives, we are going, and soon, but you have to consider that this may be a trap.” Ahsoka said.
“Of course it’s a trap!” Fives said. “They’re using our dead brother to try and lure us in! They have to pay for it!”
“Fives,” Rex said, unsure on how to respond to Fives’ reaction. “Echo could be alive.”
“He’s not.” Fives’ voice had dropped to a low growl. “He’s not. It’s a trick and they have to pay.” “Fives-”
Fives whirled on them, eyes wild.
“Don’t you think I would know if my brother was alive?” He yelled. “I saw him die! I felt it! Echo is dead!”
He stared at them, daring them to say differently. Tears were leaking down his face, unnoticed.
“Just-just let me know when we leave.” He said.
He pushed past them and out the door.
“Ahsoka.” Rex said. “Can you- can you maybe feel Echo?”
Ahsoka shook her head.
“But that doesn’t mean he’s for sure dead.” She said. “I couldn’t really feel Master Obi Wan when he was pretending to be that bounty hunter, and sometimes a person can change so much that you can’t recognize them in the Force.”
“I have to believe he’s alive.” Rex said quietly. “It has to be him.”
"But if it's not?" Ahsoka asked.
"Then I say his name in remembrances again." Rex said. "And move on, like with every fallen brother."
It was a lie. If it was not Echo, Rex did not know if he could move on this time.
Fives shot again and again into the crowd of clankers. His face still throbbed from where Crosshair had landed his only decent punch from their fight earlier. Fives liked to think that the sniper had come off worse for wear from their scuffle. The idiot shouldn't have brought up leaving Echo behind.
That was why this couldn't be Echo. It was a trap, through and through. Because if Echo was alive, that meant Fives had left his injured brother behind, left him for dead. Fives could have never done that. So Echo wasn't alive. It was just a fact.
Ahsoka led the group through the Techno Union's base. Rex was at Fives' side. The Captain had been high strung and moody this whole mission. He'd nearly attacked Crosshair too and would have if Ahsoka hadn't stopped him.
Fives vaguely wondered how he'd been acting, if Rex was this bad.
Fives was forced to admit, the Bad Batch was good. He wouldn't choose to take any of them on missions, as they were all pretentious shebs'e. Except the big one. Wrecker was all right, and was worth a squad of his own.
He’s a bit like Hardcase Fives thought as he yanked a droid's head from its body and chucked it at another oncoming clanker. He never thought this much during missions. He had a laser focus, only deviating for a well timed joke.
"The signal is coming from in there." Tech said, pointing to a door.
He had been calling it Echo's signal until Fives had threatened to shove his datapad up his unmentionables. It wasn't Echo's signal. It was a trick.
"Open the door!" Rex ordered.
An ugly, amphibian like mug appeared on a screen next to the door.
Fives tuned out most of what Wat Tambor had to say and shot more clankers.
"Your friend is dead." Fives managed to catch Wat Tambor's words over the blaster fire.
He knew it.
"Liar!" Rex snarled.
Fives wanted to scream at Rex. He didn't know how the Captain would react to finding out that Tambor was telling the truth. Rex needed to let the delusion go.
"Fives!"
Fives looked back to see an open door. Rex was beckoning to him.
"You're with us!" He said.
Fives ducked in with Tech and Rex. Hunter looked back at them.
"I hope you find what you're looking for." He said.
The door closed behind them. They were in a dimly lit chamber with several control desks. The focus of the room seemed to be a strange- Fives couldn't think of any other word than casket.
"I don't like the look of this." Tech said as they moved slowly into the room.
He tapped at his datapad.
"I'm definitely picking up a lifeform in there."
"Signals can be faked." Fives said.
No one responded. Rex was staring at the casket.
"I think I can get it open." Tech said.
He worked at the controls. Fives stood next to Rex, ready to pull him away from whatever trap was contained in the casket.
The casket opened.
A body fell forward, hanging from a jungle of cords and wires.
For a horrifying moment Fives thought it was a corpse. Then he saw the flickering of the eyes.
It was alive.
Echo was alive.
Fives moved faster than Rex, ripping his helmet off and climbing up to where Echo was attached. An anguished noise he couldn't remember making echoed around the chamber. He pulled Echo down into his arms.
"Echo!" Fives said.
Echo made no movement. His skin was freezing, even through Fives' armor and blacks. Fives clutched him harder into his chest.
"Ey'ika, wake up." He said.
Hot tears were dripping off his nose onto Echo's back, melting the frost.
"Ey'ika, please." He begged. "We're here, we're here. You can wake up now."
He was openly crying now. He was vaguely aware of Rex giving Tech instructions, but he didn't care what the others did. Echo had to wake up.
Then Echo began to speak.
"We-we have to get to the shuttle-" Echo mumbled. "To escape the Citadel."
Fives' already cracked heart broke into two.
"No! I'll go first."
"No, Echo." Fives said in a rush, rocking Echo back and forth. "No, you're not there."
"No, no!" Echo struggled weakly against Fives' grip.
"You're with me. It's Fives. I'm here." Fives babbled.
"No!" Echo pushed against Fives one last time before falling back. "Fives?"
His eyes finally focused on Fives' face.
"You- you came back for me." He said.
A fresh wave of tears overcame Fives. He pressed their foreheads together.
"I'm sorry." Fives choked out. "I'm sorry."
Echo shifted against Fives' grip.
"Rex?" He asked.
Rex knelt next to them.
"Yeah, it's me." He said softly.
"What- what happened?" Echo asked. He pulled weakly away from Fives and looked around. "Where am I?"
"It's okay, Echo." Rex said. "You're safe now."
Fives wondered how Rex was staying so calm. How could he reassure Echo that it was okay? It wasn't okay. Didn't he see what they had done to Echo? And they were the ones who left him.
"Just sit tight trooper." Rex said. "You're going home."
He beckoned and suddenly Tech was with them. Fives instinctively wrapped his arms tighter around Echo.
"Fives." Rex said. "We gotta make sure he's okay."
Fives swallowed. He felt if he let go of Echo, then his brother would suddenly disappear and Fives would find that it was a dream. He released Echo and gently positioned himself so that Tech could get a look, but kept one arm around Echo's shoulders.
Tech was surprisingly gentle as he checked Echo over. Even still, every so often Echo would shudder or flinch.
Fives took in Echo’s condition as Tech worked. Echo was so, so thin. He was ghostly pale and his now faded eyes were too large in his face. But the worst thing was what they had added. Metal studded the skin of his back, his stomach, his chest, his head. Wires were screwed into his left arm, and his right- Fives swallowed bile as he looked at the inhuman scomp they had replaced his right hand with. As far as Fives could tell, Echo’s legs were also mechanical. For a second, Fives was overwhelmed with how little of his brother was left.
"Unfortunately there isn't much I can tell without a good scanner." Tech said after a moment. "As I suspected, most of the useful information will come from the data here."
He stood and handed Fives a canteen.
"He is dehydrated." Tech said. "Make sure he drinks."
Then he turned back to the controls and started tapping away.
Fives unscrewed the canteen and held it to Echo's lips. Echo grimaced and turned his head away.
"Come on, Ey'ika." Fives encouraged. "Just a little."
Echo opened his mouth and Fives poured a little of the water in, careful not to make his brother choke.
Echo drank slowly at first, and then hungrily. Both his hand and his robotic attachment came up to steady the canteen as he gulped.
"Slow down." Fives said.
Echo's eyes widened and he pushed away at the canteen. He only moved it a little bit, but it was enough space for him to hunch over and vomit the water over his and Fives' laps. It hadn't had time to warm in Echo's stomach and the cool, yellowish liquid soaked into Fives' blacks.
"S-sorry." Echo mumbled, attempting to wipe at his mouth.
"It's okay." Fives soothed.
Echo stared at the canteen. His throat bobbed up and down as he swallowed, his thirst evident.
"Hey Tech!" Fives said. "He threw up the water."
Tech glanced at them.
"His stomach's size has been reduced considerably." He said. "Only let him take sips every few minutes."
"You hear that, Echo?" Rex asked.
Echo nodded.
"Do you remember how you got here, Echo?" Rex asked after Echo had had a few sips.
Fives shot Rex a glare. Echo didn't need to be interrogated right now.
"No." Echo said softly. "I-I just remember trying- trying to get to the shuttle and then- and then-"
He clutched at his head with his hand. He was trembling under Fives' arm.
"That's all right, trooper." Rex said. "Just relax. Do you think you can stand?"
Echo put his hand on Fives' shoulder, pressing down. He managed to get to his feet, but he swayed. He took a step but immediately lost balance. Fives caught him and helped him back down.
"It'll be fine." Fives said. "I'll carry him."
Rex nodded. He placed his hand on Echo's shoulder again for a moment before standing and taking a defensive position near the front of the room.
It wasn't long before Ahsoka came into the room.
“Things are almost under control out there.” She said. "How's it going in here?"
"I'm still trying to decrypt Echo's cerebral interface." Tech said promptly. "Until I do, we cannot disconnect him from this computer system."
She came forward and knelt in front of Echo. “Echo.” She called softly.
Echo, who had retreated into his own mind, started and looked up.
“Com-commander?” He stuttered. “What-what happened to you?”
Ahsoka gave a small laugh. Fives’ own smile disappeared when he saw the look on Echo’s face.
“How long have I been here?” Echo whispered.
“We can talk about that later.” Ahsoka said. “How do you feel?”
“I-” Echo swallowed. “I’ve been better, sir.”
Ahsoka glanced at Rex and Fives.
“He’s too weak to walk.” Rex supplied. “He’s very disoriented. Can’t remember how he got here.”
Ahsoka nodded.
“Have you called in the extraction squad?”
“I tried.” Rex said. “Signals are-patchy here. I don’t think I got through.”
Ahsoka grimaced.
“Well, we’ve been in worse binds.”
The rest of the Batch had come into the room.
Fives ignored their reports and turned back to Echo. His brother was shivering and damp from the melting frost. All Fives could do was hold his brother close.
Echo seemed to fade in and out of reality. Occasionally he would jerk and whisper his number again.
"I've got it!" Tech declared. "We can unplug him now."
Rex approached and Fives helped Echo turn around. Fives held him steady as Rex ripped the connections out. Echo jerked and gasped after each one. The last one sent him sprawling onto Fives' shoulder, coughing. He lay still for a second.
"Echo?" Fives asked.
He pushed Echo off of him and held him at arm's length. To his surprise, Echo was sitting upright by himself. When he looked into Fives' eyes, there was a light that wasn't there before. A smile touched his lips.
"I got a big headache." He declared.
Fives gave a laugh that verged on a sob. Echo was free.
Fives helped Echo up the Marauder's ramp, despite his brother's protests.
"I can walk, Fives."
"Just because you can, doesn't mean you should." Fives replied.
Echo's snort of laughter made Fives' heart swell.
Behind them Rex carried Ahsoka. Saving all of their shebs'e had put her firmly out of commission.
Fives figured that spewing forth masses of lightning would take it out of anyone.
The battle alongside the Poletec had been going badly. Fives had had the traitorous thought of wishing they had a Jedi with real lightsabers. Ahsoka's electrostaffs had been useless against the tri-droids. Hunter and Rex had been making some progress on them, courtesy of Wrecker chucking them on top of the droids.
Then one had made the mistake of turning its sights on Crosshair and Echo.
Fives had shouted, but Ahsoka had acted. Fives could still see in his mind her flinging her hands forward in a desperate attempt to stop the tri-droid from firing. Instead of an invisible push, a barrage of green bolts of electricity had sprung from her fingers. It had overwhelmed the tri-droid and it toppled over into its fellow, bringing them both down.
After they'd taken out the rest of the droids, they'd found Ahsoka unable to move, but able to curse loudly. Rex had carried her the entire way back.
Fives had been impressed, but Ahsoka seemed somewhat upset about it. General Skywalker had told stories about Dooku's ability to use lightning. Allegedly it was something only Sith could do.
Fives figured there was a first time for everything. Ahsoka was the furthest thing from a Sith one could get, at least according to Fives' limited understanding.
Echo stumbled and Fives quickly steadied him.
"You okay?" He asked.
"Yeah." Echo said. "Just a little tired."
"I suspect you are feeling more than 'a little tired.' Tech said. "The adrenaline that has kept you functioning the last several hours should be wearing off."
Fives had Echo sit on one of the Marauder's seats. Looking into his brother's eyes, Fives guessed Tech was right. Echo's eyelids were drooping.
On the other side of the ship, Rex was lifting Ahsoka onto one of the sleeping racks.
"Does this happen to you a lot?" Wrecker asked Ahsoka. "Cause this is the second time-"
Rex shot Wrecker a look, but Ahsoka laughed.
"It's a recent development." She said. "Doesn't happen as often as it used to though."
"Here." Fives looked up to see Hunter holding out a set of blacks and a blanket.
"Thanks." Fives said, accepting them.
He nudged Echo, who'd been staring into space.
"Tech says he shouldn't eat anything right now." Hunter went on as Fives began helping Echo get the blacks on. "But he's getting nutrition and saline shots ready."
Fives nodded his thanks. Echo kept zoning out, making dressing him a little difficult. Finally Fives got Echo settled with the blanket wrapped tightly around him. Fives removed his own upper armor and put an arm around Echo. For the first time since they'd freed him from that casket, Echo stopped shivering.
It wasn't until the Marauder had taken off that Tech came by with several hypos.
"Echo." Fives said softly.
Echo blinked at Fives and then saw the needles. His eyes widened.
"No-" He croaked and jerked away from Tech. "No more, get away from me-"
"Echo!" Fives held his brother firm. "Echo, you're safe. These are going to help you."
Echo shook his head.
"No more." He said again. "No more."
"You will have to hold him." Tech said. "I will administer a sedative first."
"I'm not gonna hold him down!" Fives said. "Not like they did!"
Tech pushed at his goggles and frowned.
"Echo." Ahsoka said. "Be calm."
Fives could feel the power in her words. Echo stopped struggling. He meekly allowed Tech to roll up his sleeve and give him the first shot, though he was trembling. He flinched hard as the needle pierced his skin. Fives let out a breath as Echo's head fell onto his shoulder.
"Excellent." Tech said.
He administered the other two shots. Fives tucked his brother in closer and settled down.
The Batch migrated to the cockpit. Fives suspected they were uncomfortable with their ship so overtaken by strangers. There were a few minutes of indistinct conversation before the only sound on the ship was the hum of the engines.
Fives looked down at Echo. The shadows under his eyes were so dark. Fives wondered why. Wasn’t stasis like sleeping? He’d have to ask Kix when they returned. Maybe they just looked dark because of Echo’s ghostly skin.
Clones didn't have much to lose in terms of body weight. They were slim, efficient machines. But Echo was skeletal. His bony shoulder dug painfully into Fives' side.
Fives suddenly became terrified for Echo. Did he meet the standards anymore? Could he do what was required of him as a soldier?
That thought made Fives even more sick to his stomach. Echo, if he wanted to live, had to become a soldier again. Looking down at him, Fives thought that he'd never seen anyone who looked less ready to go to war. Fives didn't want him to, either. He wanted Echo to have the chance to forget about what he'd been through. The war would make that impossible.
Echo twitched in his sleep and let out a soft groan. Fives didn't want to imagine what horrors lurked behind Echo's eyelids.
"You're safe, Echo." Fives muttered. "I'm here."
Echo stilled again. Fives mentally prepared himself for a long trip. Echo would need him and Fives would be there. It wouldn't make up for the years he'd left Echo alone, but he would be there.
He would not sleep. Not when there was the chance of waking and finding that Echo’s return was a dream.
Mando’a:
shebs’e: asses
Ey’ika: Little Eyayah, Fives’ special nickname for Echo
Eyayah: Echo
And then later they fight about Echo going with the Bad Batch and it’s the last conversation they have before Fives takes a blaster bolt for Ahsoka after Rex’s chip activates. And then Fives nearly dies because they don’t have enough bacta. But then he recovers and bullies his way into the Bad Batch. And somehow I torture him less than in my other fic.

Chapter 2: S7 "A Distant Echo"
Tumblr media

Once back on base, Aria went to her Cambers to meditate on the shocking news Rex had told her. He had been alive, is alive, she couldn't believe her friend ARC Trooper Echo.
She thought she'd never her old friend ever again, the things that worried her know was how Rex was feeling and if Echo really is there on Skako Minor, what condition is he in.
Aria left her cambers and headed toward Anakin, Rex, and Hunter.
"Word is the general staff isn't completely behind this mission." Hunter says, "I admit the idea of Echo being alive is a long shot." Rex adds, "I'm sure the Council will approve the mission. Just remember, the primary goal is to learn how the separatists are predicting our strategy, whether it's Echo behind it or not." Anakin reassures. "Well, if you want my opinion, sounds like a trap, but me and the boys will tag along anyway, if only to say "I told you so."" "Just make sure you're ready if we get the go ahead from General Kenobi." Aria says. "If you're certain he'll approve the mission, why wait? Let's get going." Rex says looking at Aria then Anakin. "First, we have that thing to do." Anakin says to Rex suspiciously. "Uh, what thing?" Rex questions, "you know." "We don't have time for that, sir." "Yes we do" Anakin says quieter and more stern. "Well, I'll just let you two sort this out. I'll be waiting on the ship with the rest of the team." Hunter says, walking away. Aria smiles, as she walks closer to her big brother, "tell Padmé I say "hi and hope to see her soon!"" Aria says, teasingly, she has always known about Anakin and Padmé. She was there when they got married in secret, breaking the most important rule of bring a Jedi. Anakin just glares at her, "Hurry up, I'm late as it is." He says to Rex.
"Hey Bandana, wait up!" Aria says, turning away from Rex and Anakin. Hunter turns around confused, "Bandana?" He asks toward the nickname. "Yeah, I like to give all clones funny nicknames" "oh really, like?" "Well, Rex is Blondie, Hardcase is stupidity, Jesse is Boo-Bear" Hunter looks at her funny, "that one is a long story..." she laughs, "anyway, Bandana is a good one that's all you gotta know." He laughs, "okay, I believe you." Aria starts to laugh, Hunter had noticed her beauty since he first stepped off his ship. Knowing that she was a Jedi and he, a clone, he had to set his mind straight. Now meeting her, seeing that she is kind, funny, intelligent, caring, and like 3 billion other things, he wants to know her, and have her around.
As the Jedi and clone approach the rest of the Batchers, the rest of the batch can clearly see that there is something there between the Sergeant and the General. "25 credits, he falls for her" Crosshair spits out, "What?! No way!" Wrecker says, "No way, what?" Aria asks, "well, Cross says-" "Nothing" Tech and Crosshair say. Both Hunter and Aria look at each other with the same expression. "Okay then... You guys ready for another mission" Hunter says to his squad.
Aria is now standing beside Wrecker, the two had a couple fun banter moments on the last mission, so Aria thought that out of the others he'd be a fun one to talk to. "So, Wrecker, is it true that you're blind in one eye?" "Hey, how did you know that?" "Jedi intuition." Aria lied, Tech told her. "Cool! Yeah, it went blind after a failed attempt of blowing something up" "really?" "Yeah" "well what are the odds, Echo, the clone we're going to save potentially also blew up." "Sick."
Wrecker and Aria became fast friends, she even gave him the nickname "Big-Fella" and he even gave her one too, "Bite-Size", they both laughed as Wrecker was 6'6" and Aria only being 5'2".
Aria starts to connect with Tech as Obi Wan comes up and says, "Aria, where is Anakin?" Obi Wan says as he comes up to the Batch, "sorry, master, I haven't seen him since the last time I saw him." "When was that?" "The last time I saw him? Was definitely the time I saw him last." Aria says, smiling, "Aria..." "He went that way" she says, pointing him toward the barracks, as Obi Wan is walking away Wrecker and Aria look at each other and burst out laughing, and then he says, "that was awesome!" "I know right" "that is not what I would have called it-" Tech says "in fact you made his job much harder-" "hey googles, I'm just joking around" "goggles?" "That's my nickname for you." "What-" "She gives clones nicknames" "yeah! I'm Big-Fella!" Wrecker says excitedly. "Oh, but we already have names" "I guess, but I like to consider clones real people too, so I make funny names to connect with them" "wow" "what?" "It's just that, from the data I have collected, most other Jedi hate us." "Well not me goggles" Aria said, punching his arm. "Okay, well what's Hunter's, I'm guessing he has one?" Crosshair finally speaks up, with a toothpick in his mouth. Aria smiles "Bandana." Wrecker loses it, even though the name itself wasn't funny, the conversation they were having before about their Sergeant and the General made it worse. "Hey, that isn't even that worst one, I've given." "What about Cross?" Hunter asks, "I don't know, I haven't connected with him yet." Aria looks toward Crosshair, and he just death glares her.
Anakin and Rex came back with the go ahead from Obi Wan, now on the Havoc Marauder with the squad. Wrecker is lifting their Gonk Droid, Gonky, Tech is piloting, Hunter looking at control panels, and the rest of them are standing together in the middle of the ship. Anakin is looking at Crosshairs sniper, "so, how many missions has your team been on, Sergeant?" "Honestly, sir, I've lost count. All the action sort of blurs together." Hunter says, "I know you work with Cody sometimes, but who do you guys report to?" Rex asks. "Hmm... good question. Can't say I've got an answer." "Yeah!" Wrecker jumps in. There is a little turbulence as they got out of hyper space. Tech yells, "we are approaching Skako Minor. It looks to be a difficult landing." They all get into seats on the ship as fast as possible, Crosshair, Rex and Anakin go to the middle seats while Wrecker goes up front with Tech, leaving both Hunter and Aria the two at the back.
They safely land and Anakin asks, "Rex, what do we know about this place?" "On this part of Skako, there's a race of locals, the Poletecs. All we know is they're very primitive. " ""Primitive" is being kind. My intel says the Poletecs worship flying reptiles." Techs just as one jumps on the window of the ship and screeches. "What the hell was that?" Aria says, "Wrecker's twin" Crosshair says calmly, they both look at each other and laugh. "No Crosshair, it's one of those reptiles." "I want that thing off my ship." Hunter commands, "hold on! Hold on! Don't just run out there." Rex says, as they proceed to do just that. Both Anakin and Aria ignite their lightsabers, Anakin’s one blue and Aria’s 2 blue ones. "Hey! Get off of there!" Wrecker yells. "Hey, calm down. We need to talk to them." Anakin says, taking control of the situation, "why?" Hunter questions, "to let they know we come in peace and wish them no harm, so we avoid unnecessary battles." 2 more reptiles come down on them, and the one on the ship jumps off and grabs Anakin, dropping his lightsaber. Rex grabs it and starts shooting, "I have a thermal reading. Point-two-five east, elevation 175." Tech says. "Relax. I'll handle this." Crosshair says adjusting his sniper and using Tech's shoulder as a ramp. It is a grappling hock that latches on the reptile, "what are you doing?" Rex asks. "Going for a ride." Hunter responds in his raspy, sexy voice, as he attaches the end of the grappling hock to his waist and lifts off the ground. Aria was shocked for a moment, she stood in awe, but she was brought out of her trance by Rex and the others yelling to get back on the ship to follow their sergeant.
We all get on and strap in, Hunter's voice comes through the comm channel "Tech, I'm with the General, hone in on my signal." Tech does as he says, and they touch down slightly behind the clearing where Anakin was. They all ran out towards Hunter. Aria leans down next to Hunter to get a better view, "that creature still has a hold of the General." Hunter says to the group, noticing Aria, she looks at him them at Rex. "Rex, any ideas?" Aria asks, "we're going in, but remember what the General said. "No casualties, disarm only."" "We're on it, Captain. Wreck, Crosshair, rockslide!" Hunter responds, Wrecker moves a big rock down to the clearing and slides down after it while Crosshair starts to shoot the Poletecs' weapons out of their hands, then he shoots the winged creature in its leg with a tranquilizer, forcing it to let go of Anakin. The rest of them move in, the Poletecs start to speak in their tongue. "Tech, translate what he said." Tech starts to do translate, "he says he does not want our war on his planet. That is why he took our leader." "We didn't bring the war here. It was Wat Tambor and the Separatists." Anakin says calmly, Tech, then translates. "Tell him we apologize for what's happened." Aria says compassionately. "But tell him the enemy is holding one of our men prisoner in Purkull. As soon as we rescue him, we'll leave his planet, for good." Rex jumps in. Tech translates again, then the Polectec leader starts to speak. "The chief says he will provide us with scouts and lead us to Tombor's city. From there we're on our own." "Any help is better than no help." Anakin states. "Tell the chief thank you for their help" Aria says, offering a smile. Tech does so, and the scouts start to lead the way.
The scouts show the way and head back to their village. "I hope nobody's scared of heights." Anakin says, Hunter and Crosshair both turn and look at Wrecker. "Well, I'm not scared of nothing. I just... When I'm up real high, I got a problem with gravity." "Speaking of problems" Tech interjects, "I am no longer picking up Echo's signal." "I... I don't understand. You said it was coming from this city." Rex said confused. "I can only speculate, but it is possible there's a latency issue with the frequency caused by all these atmospheric disturbances." “Or…. maybe they sent the signal to lure us into a trap. And maybe your friend’s actually dead. Well, I can’t be the only one thinking that.” Hunter says, looking at Aria, she just shrugs. She’s known Echo for a long time and would love if he was alive, but she also had to be realistic. “Look, every mission could be a trap. This one is no different. I’m telling you, that signal is being sent by Echo himself! He’s alive!” “I think you’re letting your personal feelings get in the way because you left him for dead at the Citadel.” Crosshair says, “I had no choice. You hear me?” “Oh, I don’t blame you. I would’ve left him for dead, too. Besides, he’s just another reg.” Crosshair says making Rex angry, Rex retaliates by starting to fight Crosshair, and honestly Aria really wanted to join in because Crosshair was out of line. “Hey!” Wrecker yells, “why don’t you pick on someone not your size?” He says, lifting Rex off the ground, then throwing him a little farther away. Rex walks straight up to Wrecker and says, “you’ll be a whole lot smaller when I’m through with you.” “Hey! Guys enough!” Aria yelled as Anakin goes to break the tension between the two. “Aria, Sergeant, take your men and scout the area for a tower entrance. I want to talk to my Captain alone.
Hunter and Aria take the boys and start to do what Anakin said. “I could’ve taken him” Wrecker pouts. “Yeah, the Captain was way outta line.” Hunter says, Aria is in front still scouting, not listening to their argument, “I’m just saying that is all probably a trap.” “Oh my force! Can you guys just stop!” Aria yells, the Batch looks at her unexpectedly, “imagine it was one of you” she pauses and faces them. “Imagine, you had to leave one of your brothers behind, and now that there is a slight chance that, that brother is alive wouldn’t you guys care enough to try!” Hunter looks sheepish, “I’m just saying, yes Rex needs to understand that this might all be for nothing, but you guys need to understand he just wants his family back.” “Aria is 100% correct” Tech states. “Sorry, general, truth is for my brothers I’d do anything.” Hunter responds. “Good now let's get back to work.” Aria says.
We find an entrance, and Rex and Anakin come running. "We're in business, General. Tech regained Echo's signal. It's coming from this tower. How's it going, Tech? " Hunter says. Tech is using his Keypad to hack into the tower. He is able to get the door open, "sorry it took so long." "Hey, Crosshair, check it out." Hunter says, ordering his brother. Crosshair goes in and says, "yeah, it's a lift." "Well, we already knew that." Tech states. Aria laughs, "wait, wait, wait. A lift? How far up are we going?" wrecker questions. "Don't worry Wrecker. I'll hold your hand" Hunter teased. "Hey! Cut it Sarge. Just give me some droids to crush."
Setting up the lift, both Anakin and Aria reminded the squad that this is a stealth mission. “No blasting, No blowing things up. Nobody knows we're here.” Anakin finished, The door opened, revealing droids, Wrecker charges out followed by the rest of clone force 99. They start to destroy the droids. “So much for stealth” Aria says.
After Wrecker finished crushing many droids, he said, “Yeah! Hah! Ha-ha! Uh… sorry. I just got excited.” “It’s alright, Big-Fella.” Aria said. “I’ve still got a lock on Echo’s signal.” Tech said. “All right, men-” “what does that mean?” Aria said teasingly beside Hunter, “well… uh- you know” “do I?” “Alright you two, sort this out later.” Anakin said, giving his little sister a knowing look, her smile quickly faded. “Let’s hunt dome droids.” Hunter finished, “now you’re talking! Yeah!”
They all walked into the main facility, Hunter and Rex destroying the first few droids. “Where exactly is Echo’s signal coming from?” Anakin asked, Tech responded “strange. I just lost the signal.” “What? How can that be? There’s no “atmospheric disturbances” up here.” Rex said, “Well, I have a new theory. I’m surprised I didn’t consider it earlier. The signal is only traceable during data transmissions. So until Echo dispenses more intel, I cannot pick up the signal.” “Okay, we’re splitting up.  Search every door. If someone finds Echo, contact the others. We go in together just in case there’s trouble.” Anakin said, looking straight at his sister, who just smiled and shrugged. Anakin, Wrecker, and Crosshair set off in one direction while Tech, Rex, Aria and Hunter set off in the other direction. Tech then says he regained the signal, we all followed them to a much bigger door, Hunter conformed that Echo’s signal was coming from there. “Tech, open this door.” Rex says as a message played on the screen by the door. “You clones are so predictable.” “Wat Tambor” Aria said, “Your algorithm predicted nearly every move you made to infiltrate Purkoll.” “There is no algorithm. We know you’re holding a prisoner of war here.” Rex yelled “prisoner? I don’t know what you mean, Captain.” “I am leaving here with my friend.” Rex said threateningly. “Your friend is dead. His mind is ours.” “Liar!” While Rex was having that conversation, it was a distraction as more droids showed up, “execute them.” Wat Tambor said. Hunter grabbed his knife and threw it toward the droids, Aria ignited her lightsabers, as Anakin, Wrecker, and Crosshair came running in. They all finished off the droid quickly, but more started to arrive. “Tech, Open that door for Rex and Aria!” “Yes, sir!” “I hope you find what you’re looking for, Captain.” Hunter says, Rex gives him a nod, then heads over to Tech and Aria as the door opens.
Once in the room, Aria said “I don’t like the look of this” “neither do I” Rex agreed. Tech got right to it, starting to open the chamber above the controls. “I am definitely picking up a life-form in there. It seems to be a stasis chamber. I think I can get it open.” Tech gets the chamber open and a pale, frosty, Echo fell forward attached to a bunch of machinery. “Echo. Tech! We gotta get him out of here. Figure out how to unplug him from this mess.” Rex set Echo on the ground and Aria instantly saw that most of him was no longer man but machine, “what have they done to you?” Rex whispered, still in shock. “We-- We have to get to the shuttle to escape the Citadel. No! I’ll go first.” Echo mumbled “Echo!” “No, no, no” “Echo, It’s Rex. I’m here.” “Rex? You came back for me.” “Yes. Yes, I did.” “He’s not the only one” Aria said kneeling beside them, “Commander?” “Well General now” Aria said offering a smile. “What happened? Where am I?” “It’s okay, Echo.” “You’re safe now, just sit tight, trooper. You’re going home.”

Arguably, one of the most interesting aspects of putting Reva on the Ghost Crew is her interactions with Ahsoka in season two.
Because Reva knows what Anakin is, she knows what he’s done.
Ahsoka can’t get away with pretending not to know, with keeping that information from the Ghost crew. It doesn’t really matter either way to anyone but Kanan, but that’s enough.
Reva wouldn’t necessarily tell Ahsoka, I think, if it was only Ahsoka who would care. If the information didn’t matter to Kanan, too, if it wasn’t information Kanan was entitled to as a survivor of Order 66, I think she’d likely let it go. Because telling the truth about Anakin really only causes pain. Ahsoka needs to come to that on her own time, when she’s prepared to accept it. Reva pushing it is just cruel, like she does to Obi-Wan on Daiyu. It hurts Anakin, and while it means he’s not caught COMPLETELY by surprise on Mapuzo, it was still something painful he had to manage for the entirety of the rest of that episode, that left him reeling for days.
But with Kanan in the mix? I don’t think Reva would let Ahsoka get away with that. She likely doesn’t get much of a chance to explain who Anakin is to Kanan and Ezra before they get back to the Rebel fleet, they’re focused on other stuff, but after they escape with the fleet and Kanan/Ezra ask Ahsoka if she knows who it is and Ahsoka deflects?
Yeah, Reva can step in there. Say SHE knows. She knows EXACTLY who it is, because she was in the Temple the day Anakin Skywalker marched into it and cut down every Jedi in his path, including her. She knows exactly who he is, she knows that presence like the back of her hand at this point because of how obsessed she would’ve been with taking him down as an Inquisitor.
She’s got history with the Grand Inquisitor because he trained her, but Anakin taught the Inquisitors, too. He tortured them, too. He would’ve tortured Reva as part of her training as much as everyone else. She’s familiar with him, too, and even if she’s keeping Obi-Wan’s existence a secret still because it’s not her secret to tell and she knows how important Luke’s safety is to Obi-Wan, Anakin’s choice to stab her in the exact same way on Jabiim as he did in the Temple when she was a child is confirmation from the man himself enough.
Ahsoka deflects, says she doesn’t know.
Reva interrupts, says she DOES. Says she can confirm that it is, in fact, Anakin Skywalker under that mask. As a former Inquisitor, she had the opportunity to get to know him. As a former Jedi initiate Anakin Skywalker tried to murder in cold blood, she knows exactly how far he fell to betray them all.
Which obviously doesn’t just hurt Ahsoka, it will hurt Kanan, too, to know that it was a Jedi who betrayed them all, not just a Sith. But it’s information Kanan hadn’t had before, an explanation he hadn’t had before as to how things got so fucked. It changes very little, but it’s still information he is owed as a Jedi survivor.
And now Ahsoka spends the rest of the season having to grapple with this truth. Not just pretending it isn’t true until she sees half of his face peek out from behind a broken mask, but having to actively grapple with the truth that Reva has revealed so plainly. Even if she wants to pretend that Darth Vader ISN’T Anakin Skywalker somehow because Reva never saw his face, she can’t deny that Anakin took part in the attack on the Jedi Temple, that he sided with the Sith during Order 66 and helped it take place. Whether he is Darth Vader or not, he still betrayed everyone.
Which would change scenes like the lightsaber training hologram with Ezra, where it’s generally a positive scene for the characters even if we the audience know the truth. Because now EZRA knows what Anakin became and likely isn’t going to be particularly inclined to listen to Ahsoka discuss how “kind” Anakin could be. Ahsoka herself might be more hesitant to try to describe him that way, the scene may come off as less nostalgic and more desperate. That she WANTS to remember him as the kind Master she remembered, the one she loved and who she still believes loved her. She can’t quite put the pieces together as to how someone who seemed so kind to her at the time could have so easily turned on the Jedi and led an attack on their home, massacred their children. She wants to make sure other people, new Jedi, new Padawans, and even people like Kanan who may have known of Anakin or even met him once or twice but who never truly knew him, to not JUST remember him as a monster in a skull mask who betrayed everyone he knew and loved for power. SHE wants to remember him as more than a Sith Lord in a skull mask who betrayed everyone he knew and loved for power, she HAS to remember the kind man in who made lightsaber training holograms and somehow connect that person with the Sith Lord full of nothing but anger and hate she just felt in the Force, that Kanan and Ezra describe.
And I do think that, in general, Reva and Ahsoka may clash a bit. They both had the opportunity to become Jedi stolen from them, but unlike Ahsoka, Reva had not chosen to leave the Jedi already by the time Order 66 happened. It was stolen from her the way it was stolen from Kanan, but Ahsoka has a slightly different perspective on it even without her relationship to Anakin getting in the way.
But Ahsoka is so much more of an unorthodox person and I think Reva might be more practical. She’s rebels against the Inquisitors’ orders and general missions, yes, because she doesn’t actually believe in it and has a completely different agenda. But now that she doesn’t have to worry about that, I think she’d maybe be a little more practical. And she’s trying to get back to Jedi teachings, she’s really thriving with reconnecting via Kanan’s training of Ezra and what she’s picking up through that herself. Ahsoka’s difficulty with acknowledging Anakin’s wrongdoings would probably poke her the wrong way, as would Ahsoka’s lectures on letting go of attachment as she desperately tries to find some way to connect the two versions of Anakin she now knows. For Reva, this is just a fact of life. This is the only Anakin she’s ever known, really. She’d known OF Anakin, enough to recognize his face when she saw it, obviously, but she hadn’t known him as a person. She’d known him by rumor and hearsay and then only as the traitor who took everything from her.
She no longer hates him enough to desire vengeance against him, but she is FOR SURE not letting Anakin Skywalker steal yet another family out from under her if she can help it. He’s tried to kill her twice and made the mistake both times of walking away and leaving her to struggle her way towards survival. He doesn’t truly scare her anymore. He is what he is, he’s not a monster in a skull mask, he’s just a traitor, a murderer who can’t be allowed to continue to take people’s families the way he took hers. He can’t be allowed to continue to terrorize the galaxy if they can at all stop it.
And Ahsoka wouldn’t particularly care for that take, I think. She’d WANT Reva to know Anakin as she knew him, she’d WANT Reva to understand that Anakin wasn’t always a murderer, he’d been a hero, a teacher, a student, a friend, a savior. But Reva knows all of that, she knows who Anakin is, she knows his past, possibly better than even Ahsoka does given all of Reva’s research into him. She gets that he had other facets, she just no longer thinks it matters, that just because he USED to be a hero doesn’t eliminate the fact that he currently is the galaxy’s nightmare, the Emperor’s attack dog, and actively hunts down every Jedi and Force sensitive child he can find to kill or break. Whatever he was doesn’t matter anymore in the face of that, because trying to save someone at the expense of all of the people they are still hurting just means you’re enabling those atrocities. If you can stop the atrocity from happening and don’t because you happen to have once loved the criminal, are you any better?
I think this is potentially a journey Ahsoka and Reva would have to go on together and it would obviously parallel what Rex and Kanan go through and Rex would end up involved in it, too, because Rex isn’t going to take the truth about what Anakin did to him and what he’s become any better than Ahsoka did. I think Rex might be faster to come around to Reva’s way of thinking than Ahsoka is, but it’s still going to hurt, obviously. It’s still going to take him a moment to come to terms with that.
Ahsoka has to learn to let go of Anakin. Reva has to learn to understand Ahsoka’s relationship with Anakin compromises her the way it does Obi-Wan. She has to understand WHY these people have such difficulty wanting Anakin dead, being willing to do what has to be done. That just because SHE doesn’t think Anakin’s past matters all that much doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter to Ahsoka or Obi-Wan. This is a relationship they have to come to terms with and figure out how to let go, to accept that Anakin is what he is now. Reva has to allow Ahsoka the space to grieve and come to terms with the truth and let go of her anger at Ahsoka, her instinctive mistrust of Ahsoka as Anakin’s Padawan. To recognize that even if she’s taken on some of his bad habits, she also has many of the traits of the Jedi who also taught her. She wasn’t JUST taught by Anakin, she carries the lessons of the Jedi she’s known since childhood with her just as Reva does.
Since season two focuses in so hard on all of the things that represent Kanan’s past and the things he has to learn to overcome (Anakin and his betrayal even if Kanan doesn’t know it, Ahsoka as another Jedi Padawan who never made it to Knighthood due to Order 66, Rex, the Force sensitive children, the additional Inquisitors chasing them, etc) rather than all of the hyperfocus on Kanan and Ezra’s relationship that was in season 1, it may be easier to fit Reva into the themes and events of Season 2 than it was to do so in season 1.

Y/n's POV
Obi-wan lands the ship down on the flat ground near the swamp. I pushed the hatch opened feeling the wind blow my messy braid around. Padme poked her head outside the ship quickly climbing down where I hollered after her. "Padme, Padme. Get back here. We didn't say it was safe!" Swinging my legs over the ramp of the ship I jumped down. My boots get mud thrown on them as I finally managed to catch her. "Mommy, the little guys floating." She pointed her finger upward where I see Yoda hovering off the ground. Some rocks are also floating around him while he had his eyes closed. He was always good at meditation then any other Jedi Master on the council. Obi-wan finally joined us from behind carrying a bag on his shoulder. My hope was that Kiera had found my masters coordinates and came here. Unfortunately I don't feel her presence her in the Force. "Rude to stare it is, Kenobi family." Yoda suddenly broke the silence opening his eyes, lowering himself and the objects around to the ground with a small smile. "Curious as to why you are here, I am. Tell me why, hmm."
"Master Yoda, we need your help. Have you seen or had contact with Kiera recently?" I blurted out throwing my arms away from my sides. Obi-wan regrets not being able to put a tracker on that she took off in enough time. He came home almost in tears and threw it against the wall screaming. So loud that he woke Padme thinking that someone was attaching the house in the middle of the night. "Heard from her I did not. Concerned why are you, Y/n?" My master asked pointing his fingers up towards me. I bend down on a knee with the train of my robe falling behind me. I wish I could be reuniting with him after do many years under happier news. "Kiera, she - she took off on a ship with a stranger - now we have no clue where she is or whether she's been captured by the Empire." I sniffed through tears wiping them away with my sleeve, but more keep coming too quickly for it to do any good. Obi-wan and Padme stepped close to my former master who tapped his fingers on his chin in thought. "Track her through the Force I shall try. Train young Padme in the ways of the Force you should."
My former master was right that Padme needs to learn the Force. Since Kiera has been rebellious lately we hadn't gotten around to teaching her younger sister. Which sounds like a crappy thing since our two girls are the most important thing in the world to Obi and I. A few minutes later Obi-wan is showing Padme how to lift things with her mind if she wasn't too nervous or anything. Giving me the chance to finally speak with my master alone. "I'm worried about her, Master. No matter how old she gets...I'll still see her as an eight year old girl." I sigh heavily pulling my knees to my chest sitting on a log. Yoda tilts his head staring at me, he remembered seeing the girls at a young age. He had told me once that Kiera was powerful or would be like the twins when she grew up. "Troubling thoughts your mind has. Trust in the Force you must, my padawan. In safe hands she is, Y/n." Padme's giggling breaks me from my second to ask what he meant. "Mommy, daddy, Yoda. I found her. I saw my sissy!" She cheers hovering off the ground staring at the three of us grinning ear to ear.
Kiera's POV
Blinking my eyes opened I see a thin brown cloak bag over my head where I can only see light coming through. I hear people talking and moving around. Foosteps approached pulling the bag from over my head off throwing my hair into a mess. "What the crap is wrong with you, Cassian...Was the bag really necessary and the restraints!" I raised my voice immediately glaring up at the strange man. He claimed to be a rebel but my parents told me to not trust anyone around me except for family. He lowers himself to be on his knees, holding the bag in his hands eyeing me. "The general may know you but I don't, sweetheart. So this is going back on when we head to see the council." He pulls me to sit in one of the chairs and I glanced down to my belt seeing my lightsaber is missing. "Where's my lightsaber?" Cassian just shrugged his shoulders turning off some switches on the ship. "What's a lightsaber exactly?" I scoffed at him playing dumb. I literally pulled it out in his face before he knocked me out and brought me onto his ship.
"Seriously I'm not playing games. Where is it, Cassian!" I stomped my boots on the metal floor of the ship, trying to remove the cuffs from around my wrists falling. He spins around in the pilot seat hands on his knees still annoying me. "When I found you I didn't recall you had a weapon, Ms. Kenobi." Bawling my hands into fists I'm close to punching him or at the very least try and use the Force ao he'll stop lieing to my face. "Lisen here, Andor. I'm in no mood so why don't you just-" K2SO stepped onto the ship speaking up about my weapon. "Captain, the weapon was clearly identified as a lightsaber. By Senator Bail Organa before he left to find more recruiters." Whipping my head around to the guy I stand abruptly, glaring at him. "You sick liar!" Cassian gets to his feet opening a compartment holding it out to me, unlocking my cuffs with his other hand. Clipping it onto my belt where it belongs K2SO grabs my arm moving me to walk down the ramp of his ship, where I felt handcuffs returning again. "Unbelievable, I'm not with the Empire you idiots."
The boys walked me through crowds of Rebels. Some ranged from pilots to just regular people who worked on droids. My eyes moved around seeing some people closely staring at me. I bent my head down a little feeling uneasy. I still have no clue who this general they're talking about is. The only name I recognized is Bail Organa, which is Leia's father. But we haven't seen each other since before I turned ten years old. Cassian opened a door and K2SO pushed us inside. Someone raised from their seat at a large round table, all dressed in a white dress. A white hood over their face so I can't make out who it was. "Captain Andor, remove the restraints they're not needed." A woman's voice rang through the room. Cassian stepped up holding my wrist slowly taking the cuffs off. I stick my tongue out at him mumbling where he would hear. "Told ya, Andor." The woman figure walked down some steps, stopping to stand in front of me. "We've been waiting to show you the resistance, Kiera. I just imagined it would have been with your whole family here." Knitting my eyebrows together I asked still blankly confused. "Should I know you, ma'am?" Finally the woman removed her hood where brown hair and a kind smile I'd know anywhere greets me after years apart. "I'd hope you would recognize your own cousin, Kiera." Hanging my mouth opened I nearly giggle like a kid again. "Leia!!"

you’re giving me f1 driver anakin brainworms and i’m entirely here for it. i would honestly love to hear more of your thoughts on it because this is now all i will think about for the next three to five business days.
HI KAYLA. thank you for asking about this! sorry for taking literally forever, i had a great many thoughts.. and i shall attempt to summarize them without writing a dissertation!
ANAKIN AS A RED BULL DRIVER okay so like right off the bat we literally have hayden in rbr merch. and he calls them the dark side (and cheers for them in their worst race of the season/lifetime at that point LMAOO) and so there’s a case to be made about red bull anakin. i see it. in that instance i rlly think he’d be like red bull seb where his whole ~fall to the dark side~ is a) because he’s a petty queen b) he doesn’t know when to quit c) the sound of « multi twenty-one, anakin. yeah. multi twenty-one. » like cmon. child prodigy. brilliant driver. caring to a fault. cocky little brat. god’s (schumi’s/schumi equivalent's) chosen one. who else?
(some people in my mentions were like oh anakin would be like max and. no??? first of all my boy LIKES to race. secondly anakin has a personality. thirdly and most importantly imo: one of the most fundamental parts of anakin’s character is that he was a slave. he was Fucked Up By The World, Severely. he turns his back on the jedi bc he thinks they’re self-serving sanctimonious bastards who only uphold ‘order’ insofar as it benefits the wealthy/powerful. if anakin was real he’d be a white leftist. SORRY getting sidetracked)
ANAKIN AS A FERRARI DRIVER so hear me out because he’s the furthest thing from a ferrari driver but i have done enough mental gymnastics to justify this to myself. he’s the chosen one to bring ferrari back to schumi/schumi equivalent glory days. he lives and breathes ferrari/the force, seems to have been birthed by it. haha. he’s the most talented the sport has seen in forever, and he also has the work ethic to back it up (yes sw anakin’s work ethic is fuelled by his abandonment issues and desperate need to be accepted but we’ll skip over that. i’m lusional about this. he works hard because he loves it. whatever).
this leads me to OBI-WAN AS A FERRARI DRIVER wherein: qui-gon and schumi.. well. but obi-wan is also assigned tifoso at birth and he loves ferrari and believes in it so much. and he tries his hardest to make things work but he’s negotiating just to survive team politics among the higherups. and it Sucks. he wants to restore order glory to ferrari! and he does his best!! he’s just… never enough on his own. and he sees anakin come on board like i resent you wholly because you represent all my failures but i recognize your talent and believe the team comes first so i will tolerate and work with/mentor you. and anakin is like Actually i’m a selfish prick and better than you and i’m going to fuck over the last bit of your career and step over your corpse if it means i can be a champion with ferrari. if this sounds like 2019 ferrari no it doesn’t look away.
the most important part of this entire shtick is him and padmé btw. she’s a strategist at like sauber when he first enters the sport and anytime anakin interacts with her he becomes a blushing mess. she thinks he’s hopeless but she admits he isn’t so bad a driver and if going on a date will make him focus more on the job and less on impressing her then like FINE she’ll go out with him. in secret because there can’t be any conflicts of interest. also if she marries him when he goes to red bull or ferrari nobody’s gotta know except HR and lawyers. Whatever!
ANYWAY. bottom line is that anakin is the firecracker with the weight of destiny on his shoulders, whether that be in red bull where he’s propelling the team to greatness in the most dominant years of the sport’s history or in ferrari where he’s ruthless in becoming top dog. he is, also, a malewife and babygirl. i hope this answer was satisfactory!

even  with  good  faith  the  product  of  her  crafting,  now  abandoned  on  the  table,  couldn’t  be  called  a  small  paper  lantern  it  had  supposed  to  be.  with  a  displeased  frown  gracing  her  brow,  padmé  let  out  a  sound  sigh  and  leaned  her  aching  back  against  the  chair.  ❝  please,  do  go  on.  say  it.  it’s  absolutely hideous  ❞,  she  stated  in  level  of  defeat,  ❝  this  is  why  i  didn’t  aim  for  an  artist’s  career.  ❞  /  an  unprompted  thingy  for  you  !  ♡
Tumblr media
Truth be told, at first Obi-Wan had also wondered what Padmé was working on. He watched her slender hands work on the paper, folding it in various different ways, only to be left with something mangled.
Still, even if it didn't offer the desired outcome, she made something. She did so on her own, without ordering anyone else to do so. He practically felt the care and love Padmé had poured into the crafting, because their wedding meant a lot to her, and wasn't that by far the most important thing? Especially when Padmé would have the means to order an entire sea of paper lanterns, ready made.
It was one of the many qualities he loved about her. Whether Padmé baked, gardened or worked on a paper lantern, she was so very human beneath all the splendor and political influence. She enjoyed creating and using her hands, not at all like countless Senators who had devolved to mere delegation of every mundane task.
"Who cares how the lantern looks, my love? The process is sometimes more important than the result" Obi-Wan smiled and got up from his own chair, to stand behind hers and to lean down and kiss her brow from behind. "Besides, no one is born a master. I will help you and we will get better through practise."

OOOOOOOOOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For the prompts - childhood best friend au bc i’m a sucker for them
- tealbluemagic
ah yikes i had thought and scripted like....two more scenes of them actually growing up (16/20 and 22/26) in my head dialogue and all but suddenly this was 2.3k because once again i was worldbuilding my cares away RIP!! palpatine was supposed to be the evil adviser it was gonna be great sad days.
2. Childhood best friends AU (medieval, fantasy, royalty AU--whichever term conveys the absolute zero amount of fact-checking that I have done)
They meet when Anakin is seven and Obi-Wan eleven.
Anakin’s tutor wants him to write lines. Again. According to the man, his letters do not look kingly enough.
Thank the gods that he set him to work and then left to flirt with the chambermaid. Otherwise, he probably would have had something very mean to say about the lack of kingliness that is required to climb out the window and down the ivy creeping up the castle.
Anakin lands on his feet and looks up in time to see his tutor’s red face in the window. “Prince Anakin!” The man yells, but no one is around to grab at him and he’s a very fast runner, even at the age of seven. He takes off to the gardens, laughing in joy at the freedom of it all.
Through the gardens and at the edge of the grounds are the stables. He’s not allowed to go there yet, because he is so small and the horses so big. It’ll be the last place they’ll check for him.
Anakin bursts through the doors and runs headlong into another boy, knocking him clean off his feet and into a pile of straw.
“Hey!” The boy shouts, shoving Anakin harshly off of him, face turning almost as red as his hair. Anakin blinks stupidly up at him as he rises and puts his hands on hips. “Who do you think you are?”
“I come seeking shelter and refuge as the prince of the kingdom of Tatooine,” Anakin blurts out the phrase he’s been taught to say should he ever find himself in danger in a new land.
Both of the boy’s eyebrows go up, and he looks scared for a second, which Anakin doesn’t understand. He’s much bigger than Anakin is and he’s still standing all angry over him. If anything, Anakin should be the one scared.
“Uh. Okay. Yeah, you can stay,” the boy says, backing away and crossing his arms over his chest defensively. “Just please don’t tell anyone I shoved you, your um highness. I need this job.”
Anakin lifts his hand so the boy can help him up, but the other boy doesn’t do anything but stare at it with a furrowed brow. “You may help me stand,” Anakin prompts him.
“Shouldn’t be touching no prince,” the boy mumbled, shoving his hands in his pockets. “People can get killed for less.”
“Well, I want you to help me,” Anakin says, glaring at the boy who’s being very stubborn and silly right now. “I promise I won’t tell anyone.”
The boy looks skeptical, but takes his hand in his.
“What’s your name?” He asks him as he brushes off his fine clothes.
Now the boy just looks reluctant, but he must know better than to disobey a command from his sovereign, even when the sovereign in question is a child, because he crosses his arms over his chest and mumbles out, “Obi-Wan, milord.”
“I’m Anakin,” Anakin says, even though the boy probably knows this. It’s still only polite and his mother has always told him that being polite is one of the best things a prince can be.
“Yeah,” the boy says. Maybe his mother had never given him the same lesson. “I have to get back to work now, milord,” he turns before Anakin dismisses him, which is quite unheard of. Maybe Obi-Wan’s never been to court. Judging by the state of his clothes and the dirt on his face and beneath his nails, Anakin decides that’s probably true.
“What are you doing?” Anakin asks curiously, following behind the boy. It’s just he doesn’t meet a lot of boys his age and sure, this boy seems a bit mean and certainly at least a little uncivilized, but he still let Anakin stay.
“Shoveling horse shit,” Obi-Wan says. “Would you like to help?”
Anakin wrinkles his nose. “What’s up there?” he asks, pointing to a ladder as they pass it.
“That’s where we keep the hay. And it’s where I sleep.”
“You sleep here?”
Obi-Wan doesn’t respond, but his cheeks grow a dull sort of red.
Tactfully, Anakin changes the subject. “What else do you do?”
“Feed the horses, brush them, put them out to pasture, call them in, brush them again,” Obi-Wan lists. “When a nobleman wants to ride, I tack up their steed for them.”
A horse blows out a breath, right near Anakin’s face and he flinches, clinging onto the back of Obi-Wan’s shirt automatically. “And they let you?” he asks, trying to sound like he isn’t frightened.
“They don’t have much choice,” Obi-Wan says, smiling a bit as if something is funny. “Bit of a luxury around here, choice is.”
“What happens if they don’t?” Anakin asks, deciding to not let go of Obi-Wan’s shirt. Any proper gentleman or lady would have offered to let him hold their hand by now, but Obi-Wan is rough around the edges. Anakin finds that he doesn’t mind much.
Obi-Wan casts a look at him from the corner of his eye that Anakin doesn’t know how to interpret. “They get whipped.”
Anakin gasps in shock. “That’s so barbaric!”
The other boy snorts and shakes his head, as if Anakin is just too dumb to understand. “What are you doing here, little Prince?” Obi-Wan asks as he finishes dumping a pail of water into a horse’s bucket. “Why're you running?”
“My tutor was being absolutely awful,” Anakin replies with a pout. Obi-Wan hums, grabbing a shovel from where it’s leaned against a wooden door and carrying it to an empty stall. He follows him, wanting a proper response from the other boy. All that writing had been hurting his hand! The tutor is so unfair and mean and evil, and Anakin deserved to be treated with dignity and respect!
He tells all of this to Obi-Wan as he paces in the tight space of the stall, the other boy occasionally making noises to show he’s listening as he goes about his work.
“I don’t know what sort of problem he has with my letters! I know all of them now! Isn’t that enough?” Anakin asks angrily, crossing his arms. He’s tired and wants to sit down, but it smells poorly here. Maybe he can convince Obi-Wan to go to the ponds with him?
But Obi-Wan pauses, leaning against the handle of his shovel to look at Anakin. “You shouldn’t be complainin’ about getting to learn to read and write,” Obi-Wan says and then hastily tacks on, “milord.”
“But I don’t like it, and I shouldn’t have to do things I don’t like,” Anakin protests.
Obi-Wan smiles in a funny way. “You think I like shoveling shit, do you? But someone has to do it.”
“Are you saying that someone has to read and w--”
Obi-Wan interrupts him loudly. No one’s ever really done that before.
“I’m sayin’ that reading and writing is a...a privilege, milord.” He says the word privilege like he hasn’t ever said it before, like someone had said it around him and he’d memorized the sound and played it back in his head every night.
Anakin pouts, and Obi-Wan must see the look on his face because he softens his voice when he speaks again. “There’re...people who would kill for a teacher and they got none. If I was you, I wouldn’t ever leave my lessons early.”
Anakin crosses his arms. “But you’re not me. And I get to do whatever I want.”
It’s like a wall comes up between them. “That’s a luxury too, milord,” Obi-Wan says, turning away. “Excuse me. I need to work.”
The way he says this makes it clear that he doesn’t want Anakin around him anymore. “Fine!” Anakin snaps, face pulled up into a scowl. He pushes past Obi-Wan as hard as he can, hoping he can make the boy fall again, and leaves the way he’s come.
How dare the little stable boy try to correct Anakin’s behavior, when he’s the one with dirt all over his face!
He storms back to the castle and is in a horrifically terrible mood the entire rest of the night, right up until he goes to bed. Obi-Wan doesn’t know anything about anything, Anakin tries to reassure himself. He should have never met him.
He flips onto his side in bed, scowling even harder when his eyes alight onto the practice papers his tutor had left for him.
In his mind, Obi-Wan’s words repeat even louder. If I was you, I wouldn’t ever leave my lessons early.
Anakin rolls away until he can stare up at the ceiling.
He’d wanted a friend, but Obi-Wan clearly hadn’t wanted Anakin there at all. He wouldn’t have made a good friend at all. Anakin should just forget him.
But he can’t. He wants Obi-Wan to like him, although he can’t understand why or how to proceed.
He flips back to face the room again, too restless for sleep.
Inspiration strikes quite suddenly, making him sit up in his bed.
There’s one thing he could do that would make Obi-Wan like him. But there’s no time to waste.
He hastily dresses in his discarded clothes from yesterday and grabs two of the books on his desk. There’s a leather satchel hanging from his wardrobe that he’s never used before, but it’s the perfect size now. He slings it over his little shoulders and leaves as quietly as he can.
It’s a dangerous but relatively short journey back to the stables. The gardens look much scarier at night, but Anakin is being so brave about it. He’s on a quest. He clutches his satchel to his chest at every jumping shadow, but he makes it to the stable door and then through it.
The ladder he had pointed out earlier is a few steps into the barn, past two stalls. The horses look much scarier now that he’s here alone; their eyes seem to glow in the dark. He scuttles past them and grabs at the first wooden beam. Obi-Wan. He’s doing this for Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan, who is asleep among the hay, just at the top of the ladder. He’s curled up beneath a couple of blankets. He looks angry even in his sleep.
Anakin crawls forward and shakes him awake.
“Wha--” Obi-Wan jerks up.
Anakin clutches his package to his chest and sits cross-legged in front of him. “It’s me!”
“What?” The other boy asks, rubbing at his eyes. Anakin pouts. Has Obi-Wan really forgotten him in such a short period of time? That’s hardly fair, considering the fact that Anakin has not stopped thinking of him at all.
“It’s Anakin,” he says. “I came back.”
“Why?” Obi-Wan asks, squinting at him in the light of the moon that filters through the single window.
Anakin pouts harder. “I brought my stuff,” he says. It had seemed like such a brilliant idea, not even an hour ago, but in the face of Obi-Wan’s incredulity, Anakin only feels stupid. He pulls out the books anyway. “I thought. Well. That maybe I could teach you.”
Obi-Wan sits up all the way at this and bends forward to study the covers, although Anakin is sure he doesn’t understand the letters written on them. .
“Teach me?” Obi-Wan asks.
Anakin huffs. This is going to become quite a tedious conversation if all Obi-Wan does is repeat fragments of what Anakin says. “To read and to write.”
“Why?” he asks, but different than he had asked before.
He doesn’t think because I want you to like me would satisfy Obi-Wan now, and even Anakin knows it’s a rather weak explanation.
“Because...you want to know,” Anakin settles on saying, “and my mother always says that a king should do what he can to satisfy the desires of the kingdom.”
“Oh well,” Obi-Wan scoffs. “If the Queen says so.”
Anakin withdraws, stung at the other boy’s standoffish attitude. “Never mind,” he mumbles, reaching for the satchel to put away the books. “It was stupid.”
Obi-Wan’s hand flashes out to stop him. “No,” he says. “No, I’m sorry. I. Thank you, milord for this. You don’t know what you’re offering.”
“I’m offering you some lessons,” Anakin responds slowly. Maybe Obi-Wan had missed that part?
In the moonlight, Obi-Wan’s smile breaks across his face like a sunrise. “Of course, milord.”
“Call me Anakin,” Anakin demands. He wants a friend, not someone who will bow to his title or shy away from his crown. He wants an equal, a familiar. He wants Obi-Wan to treat him as if they carried the same amount of dirt and grime on their skin.
“Of course, Anakin,” Obi-Wan whispers, like he’s breaking a rule and afraid he’ll get caught. “But….”
“But what?” Anakin asks, scooting closer now that he knows he probably won’t be kicked off the loft to be fed to the horses in the morning.
“Did you bring a light to read by?” Obi-Wan asks, looking around his bare accommodations.
Anakin bites his lip and looks too, but the search is fruitless. “Well,” he says. “No.” The truth is that in the castle there’s always light when he needs light. There are always servants, ready to bustle in and solve his slightest inconvenience. He had never thought of light as a--what had Obi-Wan said earlier? A luxury.
“Oh,” Obi-Wan whispers, tracing the cover of the book with something like longing.
“I’ll come back tomorrow,” Anakin finds himself promising. “I’ll bring a candle or something. I will. Tomorrow night.”
“Really?” The other boy’s voice seems to get caught in his throat because it comes out sounding much weaker and higher than it ever has.
Anakin nods. He would. He’d come back every night for the rest of his life if it meant Obi-Wan would like him, if it meant they could be friends. “I promise,” he says, reaching out with his smallest finger.
Obi-Wan looks at it for a second before linking their fingers together. “Okay, milord,” he says. “I believe you.”

Something I've noticed recently over the past few months is this trend where people have been diagnosing Anakin with narcissistic personality disorder instead of C-PTSD or BPD, the more commonly seen diagnoses. I personally disagree, but I wanted to hear your "two sense" on the matter if you will, you're one of the best meta-writers on this site.
It’s because people don’t like Anakin as presented on screen. They want Anakin to be as selfish and arrogant as possible so they can blame him from everything that happened. If it’s ALL about Anakin than everyone else can be left off the hook.
Anakin ‘I don’t want to be a problem’ Skywalker is clearly narcissistic. I mean, he fits all the signs:
Have a sense of entitlement and require constant, excessive admiration
“Ten years in this place, and still he was an object of interest. Of speculation. All their hopes and dreams hanging on him like decorations on a bantha skeleton at Boonta Eve. He hated it.” [Clone Wars: Wild space, Karen Miller]
Have an exaggerated sense of self-importance
“You would forgo your destiny for Padmé?” Anakin’s brows beetled in anger. “I never claimed to be the Chosen One. That was Qui-Gon. Even the Council doesn’t believe it anymore, so why should you?” [ James Luceno. Labyrinth of Evil]
Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it
Anakin bumped his hand against [Obi-wan]. “Wait. Just—wait.” Embarrassed, he took a deep breath. “Look. Don’t take this the wrong way. It’s just—it’s the mission, right? That’s what matters. So—”  “Anakin.” Obi-Wan’s whisper sounded amused. “It’s fine. I was about to suggest it myself when the droids turned up.”  “You were?”  “Play to your strengths and minimize your weaknesses. That’s how a battle is won. That’s how we’ll win the war.”  Anakin had to smile. I should’ve known he wouldn’t take it personally. “Yeah. So—once I’m up and over and nobody raises the alarm, give me a five-count then follow. I’ll give you the best Force boost I can. Not that you’ll need much. Your leap was only a meter and a half behind Master Windu’s. Remember?”  Obi-Wan gave a breathy chuckle. “I remember I had nosebleeds for a week afterward. Don’t ever feel bad for being extraordinary, Anakin. Now off you go. We don’t have all night.” [Karen Miller. Star Wars: Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth]
Take advantage of others to get what they want
“He thought of how unflinchingly loyal Anakin was to anyone he considered a friend.” [Matthew Stover’s Revenge of the Sith]
Exaggerate achievements and talents
He was the Chosen One, they told him. He was supposed to bring balance to the Force. Anakin thought that some little extra support might go with being the Chosen One, a helping hand or at least some understanding from the Jedi Council, but instead he was passed around like an unwelcome burden, ending up with Qui-Gon Jinn and then Kenobi because nobody else would have him. His chosen status meant less than nothing; it felt more like a stigma. And they wondered why he was difficult at times. Maybe they didn’t want balance, whatever that was. Maybe nobody liked a Jedi who was that different. He felt like an embarrassment to them. I do everything you ask of me. I try so hard. When is it going to be enough? When are you going to say, “Okay, Anakin Skywalker, you’re good enough”? Karen Traviss’s The Clone Wars
Be preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate
Impatience. Concern. Relief. Loneliness. Weariness. And grief, not yet healed. Such a muddle of emotions. Such a weight on [Anakin]’s shoulders. Months of brutal battle had left [Ahsoka] drained and nearly numb, but it was worse for Anakin. He was a Jedi general with countless lives entrusted to his care, and every life damaged or lost he counted as a personal failure. For other people he found forgiveness; for himself there was none. For himself there was only anger at not meeting his own exacting standards. [Karen Miller’s Star Wars: Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth]
Believe they are superior and can only associate with equally special people
It’s not just Skywalker’s rank that makes us give him one hundred percent. It’s because he treats us with respect, and he puts himself on the line with us.” [The Clone Wars by Karen Traviss]
Monopolize conversations and belittle or look down on people they perceive as inferior
Having worked their way around the village, finding nothing to wake their uneasily sleeping sense of alarm, Obi-Wan and Anakin returned to the beaten-dirt square and the charter house. Its doors were open now and a woman who had to be Teeba Brandeh stood on the broad step, hands on her narrow hips, watching the children scatter across the square to play a proper game of kickball. Grinning, without bothering to ask if he might, or if it were wise, or if they had the time to spare, so independent these days, Anakin jogged to join them. After a moment’s amazed hesitation the children welcomed him with squeals of delight, rough-and-tumbled him into their midst and made him one of their own. Obi-Wan shook his head. “He’s nice,” said the girl with the bracelet and the ragged hair, wandering over to stand beside him. “Don’t be cross with him, Teeb Yavid.” Karen Miller. Star Wars: Clone Wars Gambit: Siege
“Oh, no,” said Anakin, grinning. “It was fun too.”  May the Force give me strength. “And that business with the boy? Because when I said no heavy lifting I—” Anakin’s amusement vanished.  “He wasn’t heavy. These younglings are skin and bone. I look at them and—” He clenched his jaw.  ”Karen Miller. Star Wars: Clone Wars Gambit: Siege
Expect special favors and unquestioning compliance with their expectations
[Anakin] did not like the fact that he had won. It seemed wrong that he had stepped so far out of line, and yet had been retained as a Padawan. He did not like the unease this victory, if victory it was, produced in him. Above all weaknesses, arrogance was the most costly. They keep me here because I have potential they’ve never seen before. They keep me in training because they’re curious to see what I can do. I feel like a rich man who never knows whether his friends are true-or whether they just want his money. This was a particularly galling thought, and certainly neither true nor fair. Why do they put up with me, then? Why do I keep testing them? [Greg Bear’s Rogue Planet]
Have an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others
“I’m sorry. I’m not normally this stupid. I just—” And then she felt her face crumple and heard herself sob. Her knees buckled and she began to sink toward the floor. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” she choked. “Don’t mind me. I’m fine.” [Anakin] caught her before she tumbled completely. Lifted her without effort and carried her to the sofa. Boneless and unprotesting, she let him. Let her face turn to his roughly shirted, dirty chest and howled her rage and shame against him. Dimly, she felt his hand warm and comforting on her back and heard his soft voice saying, over and over, “It’s all right. It’s all right. You’re safe now. It’s all right.” The crazy thing was that she did feel safe. For the first time since those Separatist blaster bolts seared the air and sand of Niriktavi Bay, since she saw her friends and colleagues slaughtered, she felt safe. Then, abruptly, she felt mortified. What was she doing? Weeping like a child all over a man young enough to be her son? Where was her pride? She shifted away from him, unable to meet his eyes. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to—I’m sorry.” “Don’t apologize,” he said gently. “You’ve got a right to be upset. Now, where’s that medkit?”Karen Miller. Star Wars: Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth
Be envious of others and believe others envy them
The Jedi Council didn’t want me, either. Being the Chosen One didn’t count for anything. Master Yoda wouldn’t train me, or Windu. Every member of the Jedi Council had had something more pressing to do than help him work out what this terrible, galaxy-changing power of his meant, and how he should live in its shadow. He still wasn’t sure. Anakin recalled standing there in that grand, polished Jedi Council Chamber, surrounded by what felt like fear, and disdain, and bewilderment—who were those Masters to feel bewildered, that the only person there who cared if he lived or died was Master Qui-Gon Jinn.  [Karen Traviss. The Clone Wars]
[Anakin] had worried that Obi-Wan did not have room for him in his heart. But Shmi’s smile rose in Anakin’s mind. Hearts have infinite room, my son. JUDE WATSON’S THE TRAIL OF THE JEDI
Behave in an arrogant or haughty manner, coming across as conceited, boastful and pretentious
The fear and dread in her face eased, just a little. “You’re a very sweet young man, Anakin Skywalker.” [Karen Miller’s Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth]
[Anakin] humbles me, sometimes. He makes me feel small. He can’t see a broken thing without wanting to fix it. [Karen Miller’s Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth]
“I don’t know,” she said, floundering. “I can’t say I’ve ever given the Jedi much thought. I mean, not as individuals. I never expected to meet one—let alone two. I don’t tend to go places where your skills are needed. But—well—you’re gentle.” [Karen Miller’s Clone Wars Gambit: Stealth]
Insist on having the best of everything — for instance, the best car or office
“I’m not giving him to you,” [Anakin]’d told her. “He’s not even really mine to give; when I built him, I was a slave, and everything I did belonged to Watto. Cliegg Lars bought him along with my mother; Owen gave him back to me, but I’m a Jedi. I have renounced possessions. I guess that means he’s free now. What I’m really doing is asking you to look after him for me.”  “Look after him?”  “Yes. Maybe even give him a job. He’s a little fussy,” he’d admitted, “and maybe I shouldn’t have given him quite so much self-consciousness—he’s a worrier—but he’s very smart, and he might be a real help to a big-time diplomat … like, say, a Senator from Naboo?”Matthew Stover. Hm… how about some headcanons where Neutral!Reader introduces the PT crew to their Mexican culture?
Representation is really important! 👈
SW: The Prequel Trilogy being introduced to Reader's Mexican culture
A/N: thanks @baddestbitchofthedecade for sending this. As an English person I just want to say I’ve done research for this, but I am obvs not Mexican nor do I claim to know all about the country’s amazing culture. If I’ve got something wrong etc please please let me know as I’m really happy to amend/remove/include things. I’d hate to upset anyone as I want my blog to be a place for everyone ❤️

Masterlist:
---- 🇲🇽 ----
So, it depends how you wish to imagine the circumstances for this one but as Yavin-4 is based on Guatemala, and Oscar Isaac has said he tried to incorporate elements of his culture in Poe’s background, it’s safe to say you could imagine Mexico as a planet - if you wish for this to be in universe.
If not, you can also imagine this as the characters coming to / learning about Mexico as it is on Earth.
Ok. First off, as someone who has enjoyed a lot of Mexican food cooked by Mexican friends at university, I feel like Anakin would be the kind of person to try and eat anything you put in front of him. Anything - even if his poor tastebuds are only used to blander tastes that come with the rations packs given to Jedi.
He’d pretend he’s fine, even if his eyes and nose are streaming within two minutes and he looks like he’s going to pass out.
It doesn’t matter that you say it’s alright if he wants some milk etc. It’s not for everyone. He’d simply scowl at you and stubbornly shovel more in his mouth, whimpering he’s fine and that it takes more than some heat to stop him… (you pity his poor mouth)
He is also the most understanding when you talk about having a strong connection with your family, and the role family plays in your culture.
He empathises that you struggle to be away from them. He misses his mother like mad and can only imagine what it must be like to have so many family members to love and support you… if he’d had it before his life as a Jedi then he’d probably feel pretty lonely without them.
Also - side note. I can see him and Obi rocking a Sarape
Given Padmé’s abilities as a Senator and diplomat, you’d best believe she’s done her research in advance. Heck, she’d already probably know some Spanish and is quick to try and practise with you to learn more.
She also stuns you by knowing several indigenous dialects too, even if it’s only a few words that she picked up the night before when studying.
She also is willing to hear all about your experiences, and makes silent notes for the future so as to be able to include them in your life.
Favourite foods? She has them served whenever you come to visit.
Special dates? She has them marked on a calendar.
Key historical events? She absorbs the information like a sponge and is keen to find more texts about them for herself.
Now, Obi-wan would be similar in that he is a great researcher and diplomat too. He’d also do his research in the archives in an attempt to inform himself and is incredibly open and receptive to you sharing your culture with him.
He appreciates your sense of humour - something you tell him you got from your abuela, as it tends to be similar to his. It’s sharply satirical, and often dark, full of clever double entendres.
If you are religious then he’d happily attend services and mass with you.
Prayer is like meditating and he knows the value of having something bigger than yourself to believe in. He knows how it gives you strength, comfort, and a sense of belonging.
He, Padmé and Anakin would also be keen to honour the traditions associated with holidays and festivals.
I feel they'd have a particular connection to the Day of the Dead. They all have their own reasons for wishing to honour those who have passed, and are keen to build their own ofrendas, whether it be at the Jedi temple or at a cemetery.
They’d also enjoy joining in with other celebrations as they love a party and a parade.
They don’t, however, enjoy having many of the songs stuck in their heads the day after.

13 for the prompts? (If it hasn’t been done yet) with obi wan and qui gon because yes 💜
I sure can! Thank you for the prompt! // From these prompts.
So I think I'm going to actually write a prequel chapter (or 2) for this fic later, so keep an eye out for that!
Anyway, here ya go:
---
As a Jedi connected to the Living Force, Qui-Gon has greater respect than most for life — human or otherwise. So for a practitioner of the Living Force, it is a little unusual for him to feel this homicidal.
No, Qui-Gon has rarely felt rage quite like this.
Of course, he does not want the people… No, wait. "People" is too kind of a word for them. He does not want the vermin slavers who did this to his Padawan to die. He just wants them to suffer for a bit. Suffer like his Padawan is currently suffering — and maybe a bit more after that.
“Let me go!” Obi-Wan screams, pulling on the restraints holding him in place on the bed. Neither Qui-Gon nor Vokara Che had wanted to do this — not after Obi-Wan had just been freed from chains — but he was clawing at his skin and objects around the room had started floating with every aimless gesture of his hands. “Please, Master, let me go,” he begs, his voice raw from screaming.
“Soon, Padawan, soon,” Qui-Gon soothes. “The drugs just need to work their way through your system.”
The logic was lost on Obi-Wan. The young man before him, just barely 18, looks as though he has been betrayed.
“Let me go. Please let me go. I need to stop it, I need…”
“Stop what?” Qui-Gon prods, hoping that humoring his padawan will help him work through it faster.
“Stop him.”
“Who?”
“The man!” he says it plainly like it is a well-known fact who the man is.
“What man?”
“The man with the scar on his eye.”
Qui-Gon tries to think through everyone he knows. He can’t think of a single person with a scar on their eye.
“What is the man’s name?”
“I don’t know,” Obi-Wan says, frustration mixing into the fear that hangs potent in his Force presence.
“Why do you have to stop him?”
Obi-Wan stops straining against his bonds and his eyes clear momentarily. The sudden stillness feels heavy — like something lying in wait.
“He will tear everything down,” Obi-Wan turns to look at Qui-Gon and his eyes are clear and certain. “Everything.”
A chill runs down Qui-Gon’s spine.
Then the fog returns. Obi-Wan strains against his bonds once more.
“Let me go. Let me out. I’m not supposed to be here!”
“You are exactly where you need to be, my Padawan.”
“No no no no no.” There is a crazed look of hysteria in his eyes. It is so unnatural an expression for his Padawan, Qui-Gon almost cannot bear to look. But he looks anyway because he swore to stand by his Padawan’s side through all things, even this.
“Stop!” Obi-Wan screams. “Stop it! Please! I don’t want to hurt you!”
Qui-Gon shifts uncomfortably. “Who are you talking to?” he asks.
“You were my brother!”
What?
“You… Obi-Wan, you don’t have a brother,” Qui-Gon stutters. Who is he talking about?
Obi-Wan tosses his head to the side and then tosses it again until he’s looking at Qui-Gon.
“Let me go!” Obi-Wan yells.
“So there’s been no change huh?” A female voice cuts in.
Qui-Gon jumps. His attention was so fixed on Obi-Wan, he didn't notice Vokara Che slip into the room.
“What the hell did they drug him with?” Qui-Gon growls, his anger threatening to spill over at just the thought of the slavers and what they did to Obi-Wan.
“We’re still running tests on his blood. But we narrowed it down to some sort of hallucinogen.”
“I could have told you that,” Qui-Gon mutters.
Vokara fixes him with one of her strongest glares.
“Apologies, Master Che,” he amends. “I am just concerned for him.”
“I know,” Vokara says. Qui-Gon is grateful that she does not tell him to release his anxieties to the Force. He is not quite ready to part with them yet.
“Do you have any idea how long this will last?” Qui-Gon asks, hoping this nightmare will end soon.
“It’s hard to say. It depends on his body and how fast it works through the drugs. Hallucinogens can last six hours or they can last as long as fifteen hours.”
“It’s only been three hours,” Qui-Gon says, feeling sick at the possibility of his Padawan enduring this for twelve more hours.
Vokara squeezes his shoulder in sympathy. “He’s a strong boy,” Vokara said. “A strong young man, I should say,” she adds on. “He’ll make it through this. I can’t say for certain without knowing what exactly is in his system, but most hallucinogenic drugs don’t cause any permanent damage.” “Most?”
“What I’m saying is that I think your Padawan will be okay. I have him on an IV so he won’t get dehydrated, which is usually the biggest concern with hallucinogens.”
Qui-Gon turns his attention back to Obi-Wan. Sweat has matted his hair and his skin is a sickly pale color. His screaming has turned into sobbing.
“Why are you doing this to me?” he cries. He pulls at the restraints. “I don’t like these.”
“We don’t want you to hurt yourself,” Vokara says calmly. She runs a scanner over Obi-Wan’s body and looks at the readings. Whether it is good or bad, Qui-Gon is not sure. Her expression gave nothing away.
“If anything changes, please come get me,” Vokara says.
Qui-Gon nods. “Of course.”
Vokara takes her leave and Qui-Gon gives his undivided attention to Obi-Wan.
“Let me go,” Obi-Wan begs again.
“I can’t,” Qui-Gon says. “You heard Master Che. It’s for your own safety.”
Obi-Wan groans. “What is happening to me?”
Qui-Gon’s heart feels like it is breaking open in his chest.
“I’m so sorry that this is happening to you, Obi-Wan,” Qui-Gon says “You’ll be okay soon.”
“But what’s happening?” Obi-Wan asks. Qui-Gon is hopeful that this moment of partial clarity lasts. Obi-Wan has been giving him false hope over the past few hours. Moments of clarity, all chased away by delirium.
“You’ve been drugged,” Qui-Gon says.
“Oh. I feel weird. I feel… not good. Hot.”
“Do you want some water?” Qui-Gon asks.
Obi-Wan looks like he’s going to answer, but his eyes glaze over and he is no longer looking at Qui-Gon.
“I keep seeing…”
“Obi-Wan?” Qui-Gon asks.
“I see…”
“What do you see, Padawan?” Qui-Gon asks, hoping he’ll be able to help Obi-Wan realize his hallucinations aren’t real.
“No!” Obi-Wan screams.
Qui-Gon’s hope vanishes. With a sigh, he begins stroking Obi-Wan’s sweat-drenched hair, smoothing it out from all of his tossing and turning.
Hours of begging and screaming and pulling at restraints pass until it seems Obi-Wan’s body is exhausted beyond its limits. His howls turn to whimpers. His sobs turn to hitched breaths. And finally, he passes out. Qui-Gon sighs a breath of relief and prays to the Force that when his Padawan wakes up, he will be his Padawan once more.
***
Qui-Gon can sense Obi-Wan coming back to consciousness before he even notices him stirring. He squints at the bright light of the room and groans.
Obi-Wan tries to move his arm but is held back by the restraints still keeping him down. Panic sets itself in Obi-Wan’s widened eyes.
“Why am I… M-Master?” His chest heaves with growing panic and he starts pulling at the bonds with renewed vigor.
“Hey, hey, Obi-Wan. It’s me. You’re alright,” Qui-Gon says, moving into his line of sight. Obi-Wan stares at him, unblinking and terrified. “What do you see right now?”
Obi-Wan hesitates. “I see you. I… I see this room. There’s not much in it.”
“Okay, good. Can you take a few deep breaths for me while I got get Master Che?”
“You’re leaving?” Obi-Wan asks, his voice going an octave higher.
“Only for a moment. You need to get looked over before I can let you out of those things,” Qui-Gon says, gesturing to the restraints with disdain.
Obi-Wan eyes the restraints and nods his approval.
Qui-Gon races out to find Master Che and she follows him back to Obi-Wan’s room.
“Hello, Obi-Wan,” Vokara says in greeting. “Are you feeling better?”
He nods glumly but does not offer her much else.
“All right, well I’m just going to perform a quick examination okay?”
Obi-Wan nods his consent and Vokara gets to work.
“I’m going to take these restraints off of your hands and ankles all right?”
He nods vigorously and Vokara undoes the buckles. When his hands are freed, Obi-Wan rubs his wrists. They’ve been chaffed raw and the skin is an angry red.
Vokara does not judge. She does not say a word about the welts. She simply takes a jar of bacta gel and rubs it on Obi-Wan’s wrists.
“Those should feel better in a few hours,” she says. Vokara follows the gentle administration with a blood sample. She runs a scanner over his body.
“Your vitals are normal, which is a good sign,” Vokara says. “I’m going to run your labs, and after that, we can see about letting you go home to rest.”
No protests, no haggling, no complaints come from Obi-Wan at the prospect of staying in the halls of healing even longer. Even Vokara raises an eyebrow at this.
“Are you sure you’re feeling better?” she asks. “Any nausea? Headache?”
“A little,” he says softly. Vokara exchanges a glance with Qui-Gon at the admittance.
“That’s pretty normal,” she says. “Is there anything else bothering you? Any other pain?”
“Just tired.”
“That’s to be expected after what your body has been through.”
“Hmm.”
“I’m going to run these labs, but let me know if your headache gets worse or if you feel like you need to throw up.”
He nods obediently.
Vokara leaves Qui-Gon alone with his Padawan.
Obi-Wan’s face scrunches up in concentration.
“What is it, Padawan?”
“There was something… something important…” Obi-Wan starts. Some of his earlier panic starts to return and his chest begins to heave. “I saw it. I just… I don’t know...”
“Hush, it’s alright. None of it was real,” Qui-Gon soothes.
“No!” Obi-Wan says forcefully, and for a moment, Qui-Gon worries the drug has not completely left his system yet. “It was… it felt…”
“How did it feel?” Qui-Gon asks.
Fear, sorrow, and anguish all flash across Obi-Wan’s eyes. His fingers dance in a nervous tapping pattern on the frame of the bed.
“How did it feel?” Qui-Gon asks again.
Obi-Wan stops tapping his fingers.
“Like the end of all things.”
The young man is still, as though he is afraid that the next move he makes will set his visions on a path to fruition.
“You need to stay grounded, Padawan. Stay in the here and now.”
Anger flared in the Force — white-hot and foreign.
“Oh yeah? You try to stay grounded after you get kidnapped by slavers and then drugged with some unknown substance that makes you question everything you see and feel,” Obi-Wan snaps.
Qui-Gon gives him a moment. He needs a moment.
Obi-Wan’s face crumples and he buries his head in his hands. “I’m sorry,” he says, voice muffled by his own hands. His shoulders shake. “I didn’t mean to…”
“It’s alright, Padawan. You’ve been through a lot in the last 48 hours. I will not fault you for taking a tone with me.”
Obi-Wan offers him a strained laugh and he wipes at his eyes before looking back up at Qui-Gon. “I just…”
“Tell me, Padawan. Anything.”
“Is this real?”
“Yes, Obi-Wan. This is real.” Qui-Gon grabs Obi-Wan’s hand and squeezes it. “Feel this?”
Obi-Wan nods.
“That’s because it is real. You and I. Here and now. We are real.”
Obi-Wan takes in a shuddering breath. “Okay.”
“Okay?” Qui-Gon reaffirms.
Obi-Wan nods. “Okay.”
“Good.”
Qui-Gon reaches over and tugs on Obi-Wan’s braid.
“Hey!” Obi-Wan exclaims, rubbing his scalp. “What was that for?”
“For scaring me,” Qui-Gon says, giving Obi-Wan a faux look of reproach.
“Apologies, Master,” Obi-Wan says. “I’ll try not to let it happen again.”
“See that it doesn’t.”
Obi-Wan grins at him before yawning.
“You should get some rest.”
Obi-Wan shakes his head, but he yawns again.
“You are obviously tired,” Qui-Gon says, unimpressed. “Why don’t you want to sleep?”
“I don’t…”
“Yes, Padawan?”
“If I fall asleep, will you stay?” Obi-Wan finally says, his voice quiet and his cheeks flush with embarrassment. “You don’t have to,” he quickly adds on. “I just. I don’t want to be alone and I’m still not sure if any of this is real and I want it to be real, but I—”
“Of course I will stay,” Qui-Gon says. “You’re real, I’m real, and I’m staying.”
“Thanks, Master,” Obi-Wan says, his eyes fluttering closed.
Qui-Gon stays and keeps guard over Obi-Wan’s dreams.

Hello Wise One! I was actually hoping if you can give me some solid personality pointers on Jango, rather than Boba, Fett?
sure thing! full disclosure that my knowledge of jango is not as extensive as my knowledge of boba, but i’ll do my best with what i have! here are some personality traits of jango’s i’ve observed:
paranoid/protective: this is a big one if you ask me. jango endured a life of betrayal and loss before he became a bounty hunter and it shows. besides boba, he doesn’t trust anyone fully, not even those closest to him and is always ready to cut ties at the drop of a hat—lethally, if necessary. his mistrust of the rest of the galaxy is so potent that when he takes boba on missions to populated areas, he instructs him to hide even from normal foot traffic and becomes anxious when he learns that others may have spotted him. it becomes pretty evident that part of the reason boba was so isolated growing up was that jango didn’t trust the vast majority of the galaxy enough to let them near the kid. and when other bounty hunters find out about him? ho boy. jango actually convinces them that he killed boba using a cloned child’s body, bc he’d rather be known as the worst kind of monster rather than make boba a target. there’s also the fact that, after their apartment on kamino gets found out by obi-wan, jango is packed and ready to leave in minutes. not only is he ready to bug out at the first sign of danger, but he’s well-prepared to do so at a moment’s notice.
a loving father: another big one. for those who look at a man as battle-hardened and stoic as jango fett and wonder whether boba got enough affection as a kid, worry not: in the vast majority of depictions, jango is a very loving father, especially when he’s out of the prying eyes of clients and colleagues. he hugs boba, tells him he loves him, joins him in playing with toy starfighters, and tries to make time for him as much as he can. he even does his dadly duty of going fishing with his son (though he and boba practice spearfishing rather than using a rod and tackle). there’s also a wistful little scene where, trying to help boba feel better after zam’s death, he takes him to kamino’s main spaceport and lets him infodump about all the ships he sees there :,) so overall, he has a lot of good qualities as a dad
controlling: and the other side of the coin! while jango is a genuinely loving father, he’s not at all the type to encourage his son’s independent development. self-sufficiency? sure. interests in anything other than the path jango has laid out for him? not really. he actively discourages boba from learning about “unimportant” topics from books, an apparently very broad category given it includes things such as schools, moms, and other children. he drills into boba’s head that he’s going to be a bounty hunter and that he needs to abide by a code with such healthy guidelines like, “don’t have friends or attachments” and “trust no one but use everyone.” boba, of course, goes with it bc he loves his father and wants to live up to his expectations, but he never really gets a choice in the matter. honestly, i think this side of jango is best summed up by him leaving a post-humous note for boba that says, among other things, “i am more than a parent to you.” it kind of goes along with how, after jango’s death, boba continued to think of his father not just with love and grief, but also an almost religious dread of failing his expectations. jango undoubtedly loved his son but he also seems to have defined a very narrow path for him to walk, without room for deviation.
possesses an actual charisma score: okay, now for a more fun one: jango has a charisma score and he apparently makes a habit of using it, to the point where his old friend rozatta pokes fun at him for it (he compliments her and she’s like “oh, you’re flattering me? must mean you want something!”) he also pulls the same thing on zam, calling her charming to get her to agree to help him break into a target’s stronghold. so yeah, jango fett turning up the charm to get people to help him/give him info? 100% canon, baby
very fun friendship with zam wesell: look, this isn’t a personality trait, but it’s important to me. these two are just so fucking funny together. like, on the surface, it’s just a fun dynamic of zam making flirty banter and jokes while jango pretends to be annoyed and drag her, much to her delight. but then on a professional level, you have these two ammoral assholes bouncing wildly between being one another’s Sexy Rival and being one another’s Unhinged Partner but whoops, jango went and had a kid, so now they’re Unhinged But Mostly Responsible Co-Parents. one of my favorite scenes is when, in an attempt to intimidate a prisoner into talking, zam impersonates a politician and lets jango pretend to “kill” her in front of him. for some reason, even after they’re done, jango continues to bridal carry zam’s “body” into the cockpit of slave I, at which point, she perks up, bats her eyelashes at him, and goes, “you’d never really kill me would you, jango?” jango quite honestly replies, “only if i had to.” there’s a beat and then zam’s like, “....you’re so sweet! 😘” honestly, they’re so stupid, i love them
ascetic: much like his son, jango doesn’t seem to have much interest in luxury or “the finer things.” despite having enough money to live very comfortably, his apartment on kamino is described as “spartan” in design and furnishing. this may have something to do with the first bullet point, given that a simple life is easier to pack up and take with you at a moment’s notice, but i do think there’s some amount of preference in this lifestyle, given it’s what both fetts seem most comfortable with in all circumstances.
traumatized: i mean, he’s a fett, ain’t he? particularly, just like boba after him, jango is traumatized by the loss of his family, especially his own father figure, jaster mereel. much like boba, jango seems haunted by the need to live up to jaster’s name and legacy. for background, jaster was betrayed and killed in an ambush by the leader of deathwatch, after which he passed on the title of mand’alor to jango. however, some time after this, the true mandalorians led by jango were wiped out by a combination of death watch and the jedi, with jango himself being stripped of his armor and sold as a slave. after this point, jango does not seem to see himself as worthy of jaster’s legacy and thus attempts to pass it on to his son, resulting in the high and narrow expectations he sets for boba as mentioned in bullet point #3. boba himself concludes as much as an adult. on top of the trauma of losing his family, jango also seems to have been traumatized by his time as a slave. most notably, when he’s being tortured after being captured by target komari vosa, he at first remains fairly stoic, even as she starts to mutilate his face. it isn’t until she mentions enslaving him that he seems to panic, struggling desperately to get away. vosa even laughs and says that she must have touched a nerve with her comment. basically: fetts be traumatized :(
soft spot for (some) kids: another thing that’s interesting about jango is that he... usually attempts to do right when kids are involved. i say “usually” bc fat lot of good it did all the cloned children he had a hand in creating >:( but, for example, after killing a runaway clonetrooper as part of a bounty, he finds out that the clone had a son. unwilling to let the child live in poverty due to his own actions, he has regular payments sent to the boy’s mother to help support him. in another instance, jango and zam help deliver an artifact to a client who intends to use it to carry out a terrorist attack on coruscant against millions of civilians. when zam finds out about the client’s intentions, she’s horrified and goes to jango demanding they steal the artifact back. jango completely brushes her off at first, telling her it’s not his problem and that he needs to spend more time with his son. zam coldly asks him how many “sons” he thinks live on coruscant. needless to say, her argument convinces him to join her in stopping the terrorist plot :,)
aaand that’s all i got at the moment! i hope it helps to characterize jango a little bit more!

Nine from the angst list and Obi-Wan kenobi?
i would like to formally apologise, nonnie, for the fact this took me fucking months to write. i hope u enjoy <3
obi-wan kenobi + 9) “it doesn’t matter that you stopped yourself - the point is you kissed someone else in the first place!”
Obi-Wan Kenobi prided himself on making rational decisions.
It was probably the only reason he'd survived this far, because it was clear to everyone and their mother that he was also a fucking dumb-ass. Still, his contradictory nature was one of the most beautiful things about him. He meant that he wasn't just a Jedi too, but a human.
And like humans, he also had the tendency to make mistakes.
Most of the time, they were totally forgivable ones - forgetting to put the toilet seat down, leaving his shoes by the door, folding over pages of a book even though you'd brought him like a million fucking book-marks. They were just little things - tiny grievances intertwined into the domestic of your shared lives. You had your downfalls too - like being a terrible cook and never remembering to buy more milk - so you never thought much of it.
This time round, it was a little bigger than a forgotten grocery item or dirty dishes left in the sink.
Really, Obi-Wan had never meant for you to find out that he had accidentally kissed Satine Kryze. In his defense, she had started it - and he'd just let it happen. Part of him wanted to take it to the grave but the other part - the one ridden heavy with guilt and regret - knew that he couldn't. The sooner he told you, the better it would be, right?
Wrong. So very, very wrong.
You'd been quiet at first - painfully so. It was as though your brain couldn't even compute what he'd done. This was Obi. Your Obi. The man who gave you his all and never asked for anything in return; the man who looked after you and cherished you.
"You're joking, right?" you finally spoke. "This a joke. Anakin dared you to-"
"- it's not a joke," he cut you off, blue eyes staying glued to the floor. "I don't know why I did it."
That was a lie. He knew exactly why - your relationship had been getting serious and Obi-Was was absolutely terrified of losing you, whether it was from the danger of his job or from neglecting you for his duties. That, mixed with the nostalgia of what had once been and the fact that Satine reminded him of simpler times, had lead to some sick form of self-sabotage. He knew now that it wasn't worth the regret or the pain; that those five seconds in which he felt young again would never amount to the way you made him feel.
"I can't believe this," you murmured. "And with Satine? It could have been fucking anyone and you went for Satine?!"
"You don't understand!" Obi-Wan insisted. His blue eyes finally snapped up from the ground, grabbing you in a choke-hold. "I was so caught up in the moment but...I stopped myself. I stopped myself, darling, I promise."
"It doesn’t matter that you stopped yourself - the point is you kissed someone else in the first place!" you snapped. "I don't even know what to think right now."
"It was a mistake," he sighed. "It was just a mistake."
"Was it worth jeopardising our entire relationship for?" you quietly asked.
There was no answer. Even though Obi-Wan was practically screaming at himself to say something, he couldn't form a sentence.
"Maker," you murmured. "Do you still have feelings for her?"
Say something, Kenobi. Fucking say something. Anything. Literally...anything. Just spit out. Form a goddamn sentence.
"I..." he trailed off. Nice one, genius.
"Fuck this," you scoffed. "I'm done here."
"Wait!"
Obi-Wan tried to grab you as pushed past him, your arm just slipping through his fingers. He helplessly watched as you stuff all of your important belongings - bank chips and the keys to your land-speeder - in your bag. Could he have stopped you? Probably. But he wasn't, and that broke your heart even more.
"Just...will you just hear me out?" he begged.
"No! I gave you the chance to explain yourself and the minute you hesitated when I asked..." you stopped for a second, forcing back a choked sob. "The minute I asked you if you had feelings for her and you couldn't immediately deny it, our relationship was over."
"Darling, just please give me one more chance to explain it-"
"- no." your voice wobbled again as you cut him off. "I'm done."

Okay but has anyone considered Obi-wan/Cody/Satien (is that how its spelled?) Regardless, hes got two hands for his two mandalorians, the au where this happend is gotta be top notch ridiculous ye?
Okay thank you so much for giving me a reason to think about this, because this AU contains three things I adore: polyamory, ships where everyone is frighteningly competent, and Obi-Wan
In this AU, Ventress is somehow even less well-adjusted (bear with me). What this means is that, instead of taking a gap year and finding herself after her family is brutally murdered, she decides she needs to get revenge even more now. What does this mean? In the short term, she still becomes a bounty hunter, but in the long run? She’s looking for a Sith lord team up so she can punch Dooku (with a lit lighstaber) in his stupid, elitist, backstabbing face.
So when Maul invades Mandalore, what happens? Ventress comes right along, ready to give her ‘I know we hate each other, but consider teaming up to kill someone we both hate even MORE’ space TED talk. And though Maul may be terribly annoying, a closet theater kid, always in a tits out kind of mood, and denying his gay awakening, he’s not stupid. He knows Sidious is coming for him, sooner rather than later, and he knows he needs more people on his side than his (impressively beefy) brother. He and Savage agree to the team-up.
Cue Obi-Wan showing up, ready to save his sort-of girlfriend, and finding Pre Vizsla, who got REAL sus the second ANOTHER lunatic with a red lightsaber showed up, occupied by capturing Maul, Savage, and Ventress.
Obi-Wan saves Satie, who convinces him to call Cody for a quick evac, and they’re running away, flirting, and arguing over shooting things (as usual), when they spot Ventress, Maul, and Savage, about to be executed.
Oh, they both think, hell no. And then, because they have a stupid moral code that makes them do stupid moral things, they go save them.
A little background on Obi-Wan at this point: He has been fighting in a war for over two years. He is exhausted, close to a breakdown, and seriously questioning his place as a General. Next to him at all times, supporting him, helping him, and saving him, is Cody, who is clever, kinder than he has any right to be, and is, of course, devastatingly handsome when he does his special, unique-to-Cody half-smirk.
Obi-Wan, to put it mildly, is totally gone on him. Obi-Wan also, to put it less mildly, is his commanding officer in an army that Cody can’t leave on pain of death. To do anything— make any advance beyond the flirting that he engages in with most people— would put Cody in a very uncomfortable position, whether or not he returns Obi-Wan’s feelings. So Obi-Wan watches him from afar, hoping against hope that his affections are returned, and that one day, after the end of the war, there will be a future for both of them.
A little more background on Obi-Wan at this point: He has always respected Satine. Their correspondence fell apart just a few months after the end of his mission with Qui-Gon, but he’s been keeping up with her professional accomplishments for years. Over time, the love he bore for her faded, leaving him with good memories and an enduring appreciation for her courage, her cleverness, and her ability to deliver devastating blows to someone’s confidence with a few well-placed words.
Until he sees her again. And yes, alright, he might be angry that she’s choosing to stay out of the war— he knows what good she could do— but he understands her fears, understands the very real possibility that if Mandalore gets embroiled in yet another war, they may never recover. The thing is... well, she’s still very beautiful, especially when he’s yelling at him, and as slowly as his feelings had faded then, they come back in a rush now.
He has very much fallen in love with Cody, and he is very much still in love with Satine.
Cut back to the present— Obi-Wan and Satine rescue the three most annoying Sith in the galaxy and get the heck out of dodge. Cody, because he’s Cody, comes swooping in with a last-minute rescue.
At this point, two things are occurring.
The first: Obi-Wan is stuck in a room with four people he’s periodically flirted with over the past few years, two of whom he’s desperately in love with, one of whom he had a weird encounter with that he can never tell Anakin about when she and him got trapped in a middle school auditorium, and one of whom is definitely wearing no shirt and all that jewelry for a reason. It is Supremely awkward for him.
The second: Every single person in that room, each of which is (barring Savage) deeply attracted to Obi-Wan, is realizing that Obi-Wan is dressed in Mandalorian armor, and while Obi-Wan in three layers of tunics and a cloak is an absolute knockout, Obi-Wan in Mandalorian armor may very well kill them (and he won’t even have to touch his lightsaber to do it).
For one single moment, everything is absolutely still as they all stare at each other.
...And then Maul starts on the ‘I will rend your flesh from your bones, feel my wrath, Kenobarrgh’ spiel, and Satine stuns him. Oh, and Savage. Ventress agrees to watch the two of them if they don’t stun her, and Obi-Wan agrees.
Which then leaves him, Cody, and Satine in a room alone.
A word on Cody at this point: He has been bred from birth to be the perfect soldier— loyal, clever (but not too clever), and rigourously adherent to protocol. Yet, within three months of knowing Obi-Wan, he’s, well, calling him Obi-Wan in his head. Even just that is a gross breach of protocol, but he’s compromised in more ways than one. He talks to Obi-Wan, now, not just as a subordinate, or secondary advisor, but as a friend, as a councilor. Every time Obi-Wan touches him— never for longer than a brief second— his skin lights up under his armor. One time, Obi-Wan fell asleep on him for half an hour, and Cody’s was sure everyone would hear his heartbeat.
What he’s doing— how he feels— he knows it’s putting Obi-Wan in danger, knows that if the Kaminoans had wanted to the clones to be equals to the Jedi, they would have told them so. And look, he knows what the natborns would call the way he’s feeling, but he can’t feel that way. He’s a clone— he’s expendable by definition. Even if, on some off-chance, he makes it out of this war alive, there’s nothing for him. Obi-Wan couldn’t care for him like that, couldn’t care for a man with the same face as millions of others, born and bred only for war. So it doesn’t matter how he feels.
A word on Satine at this point: Obi-Wan, when he left, was a gawkish, bumbling thing of red hair and freckles and the sweetest smile. Obi-Wan, when he came back, was graceful, eloquent, and very, very handsome. He is also infuriating. (This does not change how attracted she is to him in the least.)
She’s not a romantic, really, but she is a realist, and she knows she’s loved him in some form or another for over twenty years. She knows she can’t ask him to return it— knows that asking him to leave the order for her wouldn’t just be for her, it would be for Mandalore, and while the politician in her cries for her to claim him, the person in her who loves Obi-Wan could not abide tearing him away from his culture for her own purposes. She still loves him, deeply and irrevocably, and she knows he still loves her. (Maybe, she thinks, after the war... But she can’t afford to be sentimental).
What do Cody and Satine have in common? They’re both extremely competent, both instinctively ruthless, and they both love Obi-Wan. Oh, and they’re also both immediately jealous of their counterpart.
They know they shouldn’t be. They know it’s not fair, not when Obi-Wan isn’t theirs anyways, but it doesn’t change the surge of envy and dislike that happens when they see Obi-Wan use the soft voice he only uses for the people he likes best on the person across from them.
Cody knows he can never compare to the Duchess, who is beautiful and well-spoken and has held Obi-Wan’s heart since they were fifteen. Satine knows she can never compare to Cody, who has been at Obi-Wan’s side every second since the war’s beginning, who is so much closer in ideals to Obi-Wan than she is, however it might appear on the surface.
Fortunately, they don’t have to deal with it for long, because Ventress comes in with Maul and Savage and proposes a team up, at which point Maul reveals the identity of the Sith Master.
Obi-Wan swears a string of words that Cody and Satine are both very impressed by, and agrees to the team up. Cody and Satine, who are both going to Coruscant anyways, agree to it too.
What ensues is a good deal of scheming, during which Cody and Satine avoid each other like the plague, Obi-Wan is repeatedly told to get some sleep, and Ventress cuffs Maul to a door on multiple nonconsecutive occasions. When they get to Coruscant, Satine has already told Padmé, who has in turn told her group of anti-war (and anti-Palpatine) senators, Cody has given Rex a heads up, and Ventress, Maul, and Savage have been metaphorically sharpening their lightsabers for ages.
(It occurs to Obi-Wan, at one point, after he’s woken up from his enforced 25-hour nap, that Palpatine must have created the clone army for a reason— must have a failsafe in place— and he asks Ahsoka to pull all the data the Kaminoans have on the clones. They find out about the chips, and Ahsoka immediately immediately holds the Kaminoans at laser sword point until they reprogram every order into a command that dissolves the chip.)
The thing about organizing a coup together is that it makes it very hard to avoid each other. Cody and Satine are forced to work together, and, what do you know, it turns out that even with seething jealousy at work, they end up respecting each other. (Note: Obi-Wan comes into a room at one point to see them both bent over a commlink, heads together and hands nearly touching. He short circuits.)
In any case, coup, Palps dies, Republic fixed, whatever.
What’s important is that Obi-Wan gets really, really injured— so much so that he might die. Cody and Satine have dealt with him being dead before (Deception arc anyone?), but this? Watching him slowly fade, knowing there’s nothing they can do about it? That’s worse.
One night, when Anakin has fallen asleep, they have a long conversation in low voices about Obi-Wan, darting from fond to furious to devastated over and over again. If he wakes up— if, not when— they agree to say something to Obi-Wan, to let him know that they love him. It’s a meager consolation after all they’ve been through, but this is the end, in one way or another, and they deserve to be honest with him.
(Cody thinks, privately, that he will be— well, not tossed aside, because Obi-Wan isn’t the sort of person who does that, but there won’t be a place for him by Obi-Wan’s side anymore. Obi-Wan is a Jedi, a negotiator, a peacekeeper, and Cody is a soldier for a now-ended war. He is already steeling himself to accept Obi-Wan’s polite rejection with equanimity, to not cause more pain to the man. (It will be easy, he knows, to wish him every peace, every happiness. Cody has only ever wanted to see Obi-Wan happy. This does not mean it will not be painful.) Obi-Wan said once that he would have left the Order for Satine if she’d asked— she will ask, now, and Cody knows Obi-Wan will leave, can see the love written in his face, in his spine, in his hands, whenever he is around her. Satine will ask, and Obi-Wan will leave, and Cody will be left to look for a place in this new galaxy.)
(Satine thinks, privately, that Obi-Wan’s feelings for her must be long faded, replaced by his obvious ones for Cody. Obi-Wan is a warrior, a Knight, and Satine is a diplomat who foreswore violence long ago. She is already steeling herself to accept his rejection with grace. (It will be easy, she knows, to wish him well. She has only ever wanted good things for him. This does not mean it will not be painful.) He said once that he would have left the Order for her if she’d asked, and whatever he’d felt then for her pales to what he feels now for Cody. Cody will ask, and Obi-Wan will leave, and Satine will rule as she always has.)
And then Obi-Wan wakes up.
Cody and Satine let him have his long talk with Anakin first, partially because they know how important it is to him, partially because Anakin wouldn’t let them if they wanted to, and partially because they are dreading their own coming conversation. When Anakin has finished, and Obi-Wan is asleep again, they go in, hand-in-hand, and wait for him to wake up.
When he does wake up, he sees them holding hands and immediately comes to several wrong conclusions. Wrong Conclusion A: Cody and Satine are in love. Wrong Conclusion B: Cody and Satine are going to try to break the news that they’re in love to him gently. Wrong Conclusion C: This conversation is about to break his heart.
Then they speak.
At the end of it, Obi-Wan has some Thoughts. Thought One: alkdfjhskhsgjljlbhkgkjbjvnab, gkjvn;qlerghjsv?????!!!!fwbfwlkrehwogwhuwrijvhfdbhkf!!!! Thought Two: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Thought Three: Oh, we’re all idiots. Fantastic.
He then passes out, because being on the edge of death for days and then having a shock to your system this big tends to do that to you.
When he wakes up, he is mildly more coherent. Then he sees that Satine and Cody are asleep on each other, and the coherence is lost, but he does manage to wake them up and get across three things:
Thing One: He is desperately in love with them both.
Thing Two: He’s leaving the Order for a multitude of reasons, but they are a Significant Bonus.
Thing Three: He would very much like if they both held his hand while he falls back asleep.
Cody takes Obi-Wan’s right hand, Satine takes Obi-Wan’s left hand, and the three of them stay like that, fingers intertwined, for a long, long, while.

Anakin Skywalker | Sexual Type Nine | Full Profile
Basic Fear: Of loss and separation; of annihilation
Basic Desire: To maintain their inner stability and peace of mind
Superego Message: "You are good or okay as long as those around you are good or okay."
Focus of Attention: on others, on what is going on in the environment, and on avoiding conflict and achieving harmony.
Passion: Sloth
Anakin lived a life that was entirely for other people. Specifically those close to him; his mother, Obi-Wan, Padme, Chancellor Palpatine, Ashoka, and eventually Luke. Anakin was known for how much he loved and cared for these individuals, and in reality he merged with them and their needs. All Nines need to merge with something on account of their passion, which I will explain. Unlike a Self-Preservation Nine, who merges with physical comforts and routines, or a Social Nine who merges with the group, Anakin merges with specific individuals, like a classic Sexual, or One-to-One Nine.
We will start by acknowledging his greatest fear, and what drove him to the Dark Side; his fear of loss. Anakin had this fear going back to when he was a child. His mother was his whole life and, like any child, it pained him to leave her, telling her he’d come back for her. This sense of loss extended to Obi-Wan, Palpatine, Ashoka, and Padme. We see in the Revenge of the Sith novelization, which I highly recommend, how much he worries about Obi-Wan and Palpatine. With Padme, it’s much more obvious. He was willing to do anything, even monstrous things, to avoid losing her. This was a product of his disintegration to Six.
To start this section out, not all Nines disintegrating to Six will commit mass genocide and kill children. Rather this is a fictional event. However, the causes behind the action are definitely from his disintegration. At the beginning of Revenge of the Sith, he is at Level 4 of type Nine’s Levels of Development. He is accommodating to his friends and the Jedi council and somewhat lacks a will of his own, which we will discuss more later.
When he has the dream about Padme, he starts freaking out and goes into frantic action. The only way he’s okay is if she’s okay. It is unbelievably accurately stated in this excerpt by Don Richard Riso:
“At Level 4, Nines are busy accommodating themselves to the wishes and expectations of others. They put their own agendas on the “back burner” and comply with other people’s demands in order to reduce the possibility of conflicts. When circumstances cause their anxieties to increase, they may well go to Six and engage in lots of “organizational activity.” Like average Sixes, they attempt to stabilize their environment and their relationships in order to make them safer. They may get into intensive periods of work, investing their time and energy in activities they believe will enhance their security, and thus their peace of mind. These actions are guided not by positive intention, however, but by anxiety. They also begin to identify more strongly with protectors, supporters, groups, or ideas that increase their self-confidence and give them a feeling of purpose and direction.”
He works so hard to prevent Padme’s death, so far as joining the Sith, to enhance his security and peace of mind by having the power to keep her alive. It’s all guided by a sense of anxiety fueled by a fear of loss. Now, regarding his self-confidence. I believe what looked like arrogance near the end of the movie was part of his move to Six. He began to identify more with Palpatine and his beliefs and less with the Jedi. This gave him purpose and direction by giving him a sense of justification for all that was being done. As if he was doing the right thing. “The Jedi are evil”, “I’ve brought peace, freedom, justice, and security to my new empire”, and “if you’re not with me, you’re my enemy” are some examples of this self-confidence. You could say he even merged with Darth Vader.
Another extremely important thing to mention which I vaguely mentioned earlier is the Passion of the Nine. The Passion is one of the most important things in finding a person or character’s Enneagram type. For Anakin, the Passion is Sloth. This may seem odd, considering he is a human. But Sloth in this regard is an inattention to self, not the animal. Now, this plays out in various ways depending on the subtype, whether Sexual, Social, or Self-Preservation. For Anakin, a Sexual type, his attention is focused on close relationships, as I said earlier. He completely merges with those close to him and they become his focus of attention, not his own wants or needs. He does seem more willful and assertive than a classic Sexual Nine, but that is due to his Eight wing, which conflicts with the Nine in that it gives Nines with an Eight wing more of an instinctual drive, as stated below:
“Nines with an Eight-wing are more sensual and instinctive than the Nines with a One-wing, and tend to operate more on feelings and hunches. They tend to embody more the easygoing demeanor associated with Nines, but also give the impression of being more “physical,” more grounded. This is one of the most difficult subtypes to understand because the component types are in such diametrical opposition to each other.”
Tumblr media
Darth Vader. The typing is exactly the same and I will tell you why. Nothing has changed about him. He just has no one, no purpose. He deteriorates to an extremely unhealthy Nine, specifically Level 9, and it takes him finding out about Luke to bring him back. Some lines from Riso about Level 9 Nines below:
“They disintegrate as persons into the most extreme state of dissociation from who they are. As we have seen, their receptive orientation to life has facilitated their flight from self-awareness. Now, they completely flee from themselves. In most cases, neurotic Nines unconsciously abandon themselves as whole persons, reinvesting consciousness into various fragments of themselves, each of which may represent an aspect of the self which has been repressed and denied and undeveloped. Memories, dreamlike trances, and emotional reactions seem to come and go at random. It is as though the very structure of the personality has come “unglued” or broken apart, and only its constituents remain to interact with the environment. To abandon themselves as persons, retreating into complete dissociation and fragmenting their personalities, is a “solution” of sorts, because then it is not really they who live but someone else through whom they can live. We have seen that average Nines tend to live through the other; now we see that they live through the other-self, the fragments of the self which are little more than the disconnected identifications and relationships with significant others from the Nine’s past. The core self has been so traumatized that it is as though in a dream without a dreamer. This can hardly be called living. Furthermore, because one of the subpersonalities can do harm to other people or to itself, this is neither a safe nor truly adaptive way to live. Moreover, Nines who so feared losing or separating from others have not only psychologically done so, they have also separated from and lost themselves.”
As well as:
“Unhealthy Nines with an Eight-wing are capable of violence with little concern about the consequences of their actions. Aggressions and id impulses are strong in people of this subtype, and when they are emotionally unstable, there is little ego strength left to regulate these forces.”
Basically, Vader lost who he was. It isn’t him, he’s broken and dissociated from his true self; the helpful, caring friend, mentor, and husband. His whole outlook changes when he finds out about Luke. He is given purpose again. He tries to have him join him and have them rule the galaxy as father and son. His last act is saving the son that brought him back to the light, and all of this makes him a pretty damn good character all around.
