Hey 👋
Favourite supergirl episodes from any season??
Hey! I haven't done a proper rewatch in years, so these are the "good" episodes from the show.
S1 - Pilot, livewire, red faced (if only for the rage scream scene), human for a day, the girl who has everything, fallout, World finest (still the best supergirl/flash crossover) better angels.
S2 - the adventures of supergirl, the last children of krypton, crossfire, medusa, luthors, exodus, ace reporter, alex, nevertheless she persisted.
S3- Girl of Steel, triggers, damage, midvale(!!!), crisis on earth x(the best all shows crossover imo), reign, fort rozz, for good, of two minds, trinity, (from here on they all kinda blur together tbh)
S4 - American Alien (Nia Nal, my beloved), fallout, (I didn't really need this episode, but it was still a good episode) Man of steel, rather the fallen angel, bunker hill, suspicious minds, blood memory, o brother where art thou?(kelly olsen my beloved), House of L(!!), all about eve, american dreamer, will the real miss tessmacher please stand up?, red dawn, the quest for peace.
S5 - (sigh), event horizon, blurred lines, confidence women, tremors, the wrath of rama khan (if only for fortress scene), the bottle episode(fooled once again), it's a super life (!!!), reality bytes, alex in wonderland, deux lex machina, immortal kombat.
S6 - (sigh) rebirth, prom night, prom again, welcome back Kara, blind spots (i will not accept slander about this episode), the gauntlet, magical thinking, i believe in a thing called love, all the domestic supercorp scenes s6b gave me, and the dansen wedding, and that moment in certain funeral when certain ship was burried 6 feet down... and that's about s6.
If I had to select from those, from the top of my head as favorites: the girl who has everything, fallout, the adventures of supergirl, medusa, luthors, damage, midvale, house of L, it's a super life, immortal kombat, rebirth, welcome back kara, blind spots, the gauntlet, i believe in a thing called love.

Tara Carpenter x Reader
One-shot
Summary: Tensions are high when you go over to the Carpenters' apartment after telling Tara you would fix their sink; Sam isn't exactly what you would call your 'biggest fan'
Warning(s): Swearing, Tara & R aren't together, & no pronouns used
Notes: Another work based off of Gilmore Girls! Currently re-watching it and I'm slowly inching towards s3 ep 19... I'm avoiding it like the plague (I wanna stay in literali bliss just a lil longer 😔)
4/7 for Seven Days of Christmas
Tumblr media
You made the mistake of agreeing to fix Tara’s sink.
Somehow Tara roped you into agreeing. Plumbers were expensive, and with paying rent in New York while also paying for college, they were already on a tight budget. You offered them a cheaper price, and you honestly didn’t mind giving Tara a favor.
That was before you remembered Sam would be there too.
You have known Tara all of five months, and in that time you haven’t exactly left the best impression on her older sister. Sam has already caught you sneaking in ten times—you got lucky every other time—and it didn’t help that you had an attitude.
Tara wanted nothing more than for Sam to get to know you—to not just go off the you she made up in her head. So, when Sam found out you would be coming to fix their kitchen sink… she figured it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to give you another shot. Besides, she was doing this for Tara. She wasn’t sure as to why Tara was so persistent on it, but all she knows is that Tara wants you and her to get along.
You walk up the stairs to the shared apartment after getting buzzed in by Tara. Once you get to the door you knock and the door opens.
“Hey,” Tara greets.
“Hey back,” you reply. Tara moves to the side, letting you in. Once you’re inside you look at Tara once again before smiling to yourself.
“You’re very punctual,” she remarked—watching as your eyes wandered.
“Yeah, well, it was either this or more apartment hunting with Danny.”
“You’re moving?”
You shrugged, “I don’t know. Don’t really get the point—the apartment’s fine. He says there’s ‘interior damage’ or whatever. Nothing I can’t fix.”
“Who knows; a new place could be nice.”
“I guess. He’s kinda eyeing the vacant apartment that’s not too far from yours.”
“Really?”
“Yeah… not saying it’s a sure thing but if we do move, can you promise you won’t get sick of me?”
“Sick of that face? Never…” She gently pinched your cheek teasingly; heat rushed to your face.
“Did you change your hair?” You asked suddenly, changing the subject.
“What?”
“Your hair looks…different.”
“So segway’s not your thing, huh?”
“Is it?”
“Uh, no. I wear it like this a lot. Why?”
“Just…” You shrug, “Different.”
“Oh. Bad ‘different’?” She tugged on the hem of her shirt, suddenly feeling nervous for some reason.
You smirk, about to answer her question, but turn your head when you hear a noise coming from down the hall. It sounded like Sam yelling a curse before Tara looked back at you with a light chuckle.
“The sink hasn’t been putting her in the best mood,” she elaborates.
“She’s usually in a good mood?” You quip with raised eyebrows, tone laced in sarcasm. Tara scolds you with a look, causing you to back down. “Alright, alright.”
“This fucking sink is driving me insane–” Sam cuts herself off, stopping in her tracks when she sees you.
“Oh. Y/N. You’re here,” she says and you simply nod at her words. “Refreshing to see you use the front door for once…” She murmurs but you and Tara hear it. Tara scolds her with the same look she gave you just moments before.
“If you want there’s Dr. Pepper in the kitchen,” Sam reluctantly offered. You looked at Tara then at Sam before briefly nodding.
After a few seconds of silence, Sam clears her throat. “Okay, well, everything’s in the kitchen if you want to get started. The toolbox, and gloves are all there. If you need anything else just call one of us.”
Tara looks between you and Sam before speaking up, “Come on, I’ll show you.” She extends her hand, gesturing to the direction of the kitchen. You begin to walk in that direction but before Tara follows behind, she gives Sam a look.
“I’m trying,” Sam huffed.
“Well keep it up pleasee,” Tara requested as she walked away to the kitchen.
By the time she was there, you were already setting up. “Question,” She states.
“Yes?” You put the pair of gloves in your back pocket, looking over at Tara.
“You come over. You seem to have a very firm grasp of the English language. You put together several full sentences—even using a couple of words that contain two or more syllables. And then my sister appears, and suddenly we need a thought bubble over your head to understand what you’re thinking. Can you tell me why that is?”
You looked down at the four-way silicone key in your hand before looking at Tara again with a  response. “The verbal thing comes and goes.”
Tara sighed, lightly rolling her eyes. “I would really appreciate it if you would try to get along with my sister.”
“I took the Dr. Pepper,” you stated as a matter of factly.
She furrowed her eyebrows, “I know.”
“Personally, I think it’s a little crazy to put lemon in Dr. Pepper—buuuut I took it anyhow.” You reached for the bucket and rag as you heard Tara huff.
“Stop it.”
“Ooo, stern face,” you say as you lift the tool and bucket to place by the sink. Tara continues, following you as you crouched down by the sink.
“Look. I went out on a limb for you, trying to get my sister to give you the benefit of the doubt. Okay? So, I don’t think it would hurt you to try to be nice.”
You put down the wrench you had just picked up, now fully turned and standing to look at Tara as you spoke. “Why?” You simply asked, taking off your jacket.
“Why?” Tara mirrored.
“Yeah. Why?”
“Because she’s my sister—and she and Danny are dating.”
“So?” You tossed your jacket on top of a nearby chair.
“What do you mean ‘so’?” She asked incredulously; her eyebrows stayed furrowed.
“So, just because she’s your sister or Danny’s girlfriend doesn’t mean that I automatically have to get along with her,” you stated with pure conviction, rolling up your sleeves.
“Y/N, my sister is a great person. She’s also my best friend—so if you care about me at all you will take that into consideration,” Tara was now crossing her arms as she stood her ground. “And you will be mildly polite to her.”
You couldn’t help but smirk, looking her up and down before responding. “What makes you think I care about you?” Tara didn’t need eyes to know you were smirking and enjoying this way too much.
She blushes, looking down at the ground and shaking her head as she grows flustered. “I–I don’t mean care-care. Like—care. I mean if you like me at all—not like-like! I just meant that–” Tara stumbles over her words, tucking in a loose strand of hair behind her ear. You watch her with amusement, a soft smile grazing your face as you let out a light snort.
“If you think of me remotely as the sort of person you could occasionally stand to talk to then you will try to get along with my sister. That’s all.”
Your eyes never pulled from her once, only looking at her with fondness as you finally said something. “Okay,” you nod.
“Okay?”
“Can’t guarantee that it’ll work but I’ll try,” you confirm.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome…” You glance at the sink then back at Tara. “Should probably get to work.”
“Right. Sorry—go ahead.” She turns to walk away, looking at you one more time before leaving the kitchen. You crouch down by the sink again, not meeting her gaze but feeling it. She doesn’t see how you grin to yourself; your mind being plagued with thoughts of the younger Carpenter.
Guess it wouldn’t hurt to make an effort.
Later that night, you decided to stop by Tara’s window for a surprise visit. You looked at her for a few seconds—admiring how peaceful she looked—before lightly tapping on her window. She turned to look at the window, a grin grazing her face when her eyes meets yours.
She lifted the window with a smile as you looked up at her fondly. “Hey,” you finally said after the window fully opened, expression never faltering as you leaned your head against the window frame.
“Hey back,” she replied. “Didn’t you say something to Sam about not coming through the window anymore.” Tara heard from Sam that you managed to hold somewhat of a conversation with the older Carpenter, actually making an effort to try with her. No matter how awkward it might have been on your end, at least you tried.
“You talk about me with Sam?” You asked smugly.
She rolled her eyes with an infectious smile. “Just get inside.”
“I didn’t hear a no~” You say in a sing-song voice. Tara pulled you in by your sleeve, roughly, might you add. “Watch the shirt,” you complain while you’re pulled inside her room.
“Quirk it.”
“How gentle,” you sarcastically complimented; you dusted your pants off with your free hand, not commenting on how Tara still held a grip on your other arm.
“So,” Tara began as she sat on her bed—dragging you with her, “What are we watching tonight?”
“I can’t do Freaky Friday again.”
“Fine.”
“How about Cursed?” You inquired. Tara was leaning her back against your chest; she looked up at you with those beautiful brown eyes.
“That movie’s terrible.”
“One-hundred percent, but Milo Ventimiglia is in it.”
“Doesn’t he only have like six minutes of screen time?”
“But in it, nevertheless.”
“You drive a hard bargain… Get the laptop?”
You respond by reaching over to the night stand, grabbing her laptop. You hand it to her and she opens it on her lap.
Tara would never comment on how she was the only one who got this side of you—the gentle, kind, and considerate side. Well, when she wants to see you squirm she comments on it. But for now, she’ll keep it to it herself.

Supernatural S02E22 All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2
hmmm.. so Dean drinks straight outta the bottle, is angry and refuses to accept Sam's death. The look on Bobby's face translates to: I've seen this with John after Mary died. Don't you follow his footsteps.
I've seen a lot of posts that interpret Dean's monologue to Sam's dead body as creepy or cringey but to be honest it seems very normal. People tend to have eulogies during funerals but see with Sam and Dean, they don't have big families or friends to gather around for these things. It's always been just Sam and Dean, not even much of Bobby. So Dean talking to Sam's dead body is just that: a eulogy
It always bothered me why John or Dean didn't get ten years like the way demon deals go. Because they needed a righteous man to shed blood in Hell to break the first seal. Now assuming John spent at least ten months (so a century in Hell's time) in Hell and he didn't break. So the demon who made the deal gave Dean only a year. Now remember, Sam also tries to make a deal after Dean dies in S3 but not one demon is ready to do that. This bothered me too but of course later we find out he is supposed to be Lucifer's vessel. Ain't no way any demon is dumb enough to make that deal. Interestingly, this demon is also reluctant to make this deal with Dean. She says "she could be in a lot of trouble for this." Maybe she heard whispers about Dean being Michael's vessel? Not sure about this, it's just my speculation.
the horror on Bobby's face seeing Sam up and around. Bobby itching to give Dean a earful. Go Bobby! Knock some sense into that idjit
now see, I already didn't like Jake because he killed an unarmed Sam, stabbing him in the back like a coward but the fact that he decided to follow YED's end of the world plan for money? Really, Jake? So low? Imagine this guy being Lucifer's vessel.. the world would collapse instantly!!
Morals thrown outside the window but Sam emptying that entire clip in Jake was so satisfying!!
Interesting that demons can't resurrect people without a deal. Sounds like YED wanted Sam alive. Again for obvious reasons (I don't remember though if YED knows about Sam being Lucifer's vessel)
That shot at YED is so cinematic!! I still feel Sam should have gotten to end him. He killed Mary and Jess and John. But well!
We got work to do!

Copy/pasting my twt post about meeting Samothy's Dale last night in Melbourne CBD.
Well 😅😜🤭🤭🫢🫡🫣😬 thanks to @moderndaylestat and Lene I did spy and I did witness Dale/TNR activities. And we did see the wonderful & busy Samothy. Gorgeous and just as sweet as usual but it was end of a long day and he was ferried away quickly.
I'll let the lovely gals tell their versions of meeting Sam with their own words. But here are mine.
Sam recognised me with the mask on (I wear it everywhere bc of someone in family is not well for months now so must not bring home the lurgy). He thanked me for my art that I gave him last time(!)
And I was like I got more art (like some street drug dealer) and gave him the Nicki w/ violin, the Wolfkiller and Lestat after Gobi desert art. He only had time to look at Nicki one, smiled and said "It's Nicolas!" (god I love that he's fellow VC fans!!)
He's got a meatpie in one hand. We took a photo (also with my kids who are prob his youngest fans). He kept getting reminded to get in the car. I told him good luck with the nomination for Aacta. He said thank you!
The crew strictly warned about not posting/sharing it anywhere (they were nice about it actually about everything), Sam then said "Or at least until S3 is out." He's so reassuring!
We saw Michael Lucas, Emma Freeman. I didn't see Anna Torv but she was around coz @moderndaylestat saw her. There were about 50 ppl working on this scene. It'd been raining steadily so the CBD was quieter on Monday night. Perfect for an outdoor shoot really.
I look back sometimes at these 'Samothy' happenings. Never knew whether we'd get to talk/meet him at all. This time was not even 5 min. I was tongue-tied but he was always so nice about everything, despite me being this weirdo who keeps giving him VC book-scene arts.
I don't know what else I could give to thank him for bringing that much joy to my mental health. IWTV has been like an anchor!
I was hoping that art prints are light to carry and not cumbersome.
Also I never got more than a few hours warning or guarantee that we'll def see him, to prepare other things.
Someone asked about his health whether he looked tired from back to back filming. I think he looked marvellous. So we all can be happy to know that he didn't look tired at all. I really don't think it's just the makeup. I think he's really happy to be there. And so was all the crew. First day shooting of the Newsreader S3 too.
The Newsreader S2 premiere last time was 15+. That's why this time when I asked my kids you wanna go stalk Samothy on the street of Melb, they jumped up and like say no more. They had a great time watching filming.
My other kid (14 yo) yelled at Sam when he was getting in the car. "You were great, Sam!" and he shouted back "Thanks!" ROFL. Both my kids were really happy with their first celeb-brush.
We never met ANYONE who's even slightly famous. Sam was a really safe, lovely celeb to meet!

one thing about me is i EXCEL at stupid ideas so! here is a Stupid Ask for your daily dopamine dosage.
post-s3, roy attempts to be A Good Coach and implements team bonding activities such as sunday board game nights. this has the unforeseen consequence of walking into the locker room monday morning to find moe and colin arguing over whether monopoly is True Capitalist Propaganda while sam sneaks jamie $200 from the bank to get out of jail next week.
This. This actually matches up well with a thing I introduce at the end of my post-season fic.
This bit is not from the post-season fic, but there are definitely some plot points I'm cribbing from it. Here have some nonsense:
There were pros and cons to the new wellness initiative in the locker room.
And 'Wellness Initiative' was the phrase they were using. Not 'show-and-tell', no matter how many times Trent suggested it. Although with how many goddamn talent shows Roy had been forced to sit through in the past weeks, the former-journo might have been onto something. For a team full of professional footballers, a lot of them had found the time to sharpen other talents.
The idea had been simple: at least once a week, they were going to sit around as a team, and they'd take turns picking a topic that had nothing to do with football.
'Share-and-tell' Beard had called it, and Roy had growled until Higgins erased the name from the whiteboard.
Books, movies, whatever song they had bleeding through their headphones in the weight room, Roy didn't care. For one hour a week, they were going to...God help him...bond as a team. Share. Communicate. Maintain the resplendent inter-team hivemind bullshit that got them so close to winning the whole damn thing the year before.
Even if Moe's lockpicking demonstration was a disturbing hour of his life that he'd never get back.
But keeping the team functioning as a team was only half of it. Truth of the matter was, it helped the little idiots to have an outlet, something to get them out of their heads for a bit so that Roy didn't end up hugging a crying player in the boot room every other week. Four times had been enough, thanks.
Colin, the second-time boot room offender, had cocked his head like a Welsh corgi and asked, "Would it be all right if I brought my piano?"
"The one that weighs 800 kilos and broke your mother's floorboards?"
The next week Colin showed up with a new electronic keyboard that did not weigh as much as a baby rhino. He spent his hour taking pop song requests.
"Do I have to do a book report?" Jamie asked defensively when his turn came around. The three weeks before his turn had gone to fucking book reports. Even Roy was desperate for a change up. When he reassured Jamie that he only had to talk about books if he'd actually read a book he fucking liked, the relief on the number-one little idiot's face had been immense.
Jamie showed up for his turn with playing cards, a case of poker chips, and a bouquet of roses. The lads spent the hour shouting about cheating, and after a surprisingly aggressive run of bluffs and flushes, Dani Rojas walked away with all the flowers.
While Roy was distracted by Dani, who lamented that now he would need to buy a florero for his flowers, and Jamie, who thought Roy's water bottle would make an excellent vase in the meantime, he completely missed the gleam in Sam's eye as the unassuming player shuffled the card decks back in order.
---
Sam Obisanya was a fucking menace. One day Roy would retain this information.
Most days it was easy to forget. He had a calming effect on Jamie, who was less prone to biting when Sam was around. This made Jamie quieter, which made Isaac and Colin and Dani quieter, which gave the overall impression that things were peaceful in the locker room.
What Roy always forgot to add to the equation was that Jamie had the opposite effect on Sam, who on a normal day would never be found smiling like a post-canary cat while monopoly cards flew around the locker room like projectile weapons.
"I'm not paying you rent again, Cockburn!" Colin shouted.
"You keep landing on my square. It's not my fault you're bad at dice!"
"Bruv, quit throwing shit. It's my turn and I almost got all the railroads."
"The railroads are statistically the worst spaces to own; you know this, yes?"
"War is inevitable in a system where capitalism is dominant," Moe pointed out from where he sat lotus-style on the bench, abstaining from participating in the 'game of the exploiters.'
"Oi, Sam," Jamie whispered, sitting up a bit to tug at the edge of the other player's jumper. "While they're fightin', can you get me out of jail?"
Sam nodded at Dani, who flicked his hand in a way that spoke volumes on how he'd thrashed the team at poker. Two beige notes appeared in Sam's hand, and just as quickly disappeared into the collar of Jamie's shirt.
"Cheers," Jamie thanked him. He settled his head back down into Sam's lap, making himself cozy like a spoiled, cheating cat. "Never was any good at Monopoly."
Sam's smile was angelic, but his eyes glinted in a way that boded horribly for Roy's heart pressure. "Next time I can bring Settlers of Catan. Or Risk."
"Ooh. Risk. Should we team-up?"
Who knew Sam's talent would be putting Roy Kent in an early grave?

Around the time that s1 came out, Ralph said about the first Karate Kid movie: "It's a story about a boy who needs a mentor, needs a father, and he’s got all the odds against him."
This statement makes me think of Robby. Robby, when he was introduced in s1. Robby, when he ended s1. Robby, each season. Robby, at the end of s5.
Miguel doesn't fit this description for most of the story. In s1, he started out like this, but by the end of s1e5, he was no longer the underdog with the odds against him. In s3, he started out with odds against him. But, by the end of s3, there were no more odds against him. Each time, him beating the odds was marked by him beating Kyler, his only bully in the story.
And, between the two boys, Miguel is the bully---specifically Robby's bully.
Last night, for the first time ever, I watched the s1 trailer. I remember another fan once said that the part in the trailer that says "Get ready for a new karate kid" is followed by Miguel's introduction in the trailer, and that's why some fans have thought of Miguel as the new karate kid since s1. The trailer introduced Miguel using the scene that Kyler throws Miguel onto Johnny's car, and Johnny gets mad that they hurt his car. After that, the trailer set up Johnny becoming Miguel's sensei, called Johnny and Daniel's rivalry a "legendary rivalry", introduced "a new generation", said that the "Cobras are back", and ended with Daniel saying that this rivalry... they aren't done. Robby is only shown for a moment. He's looking angrily at the flier for Cobra Kai. There's no context for who he is, though.
The trailer is interesting. It's definitely not the kind of trailer that tells you the whole story. Though, if you look at it from the fan perspective of s1 and the story so far, it seems to do just that. If you watched s1 without your brain shut off, though, you would have realized that there's way more to the story than the trailer showed. The kid with flier is Johnny's actual son who Johnny abandoned and who needs a mentor and a father and has all the odds against him. By the end of s1, Daniel has given Robby the OG Miyagi-Do training. Robby fought as the sole, underdog Miyagi-Do in the tournament. Robby was injured by a Cobra and fought his final match, injured, against another Cobra, his new bully. Robby got the new, memorable Miyagi-Do move. Robby is clearly the Daniel in the story. Even the night at the beach, Robby was trying to defend Sam, and Miguel hit Robby, starting their rivalry. s1 itself is so true to the trailer's promise: "Get ready for a new karate kid"
s1 also ended with Robby setting out with Daniel to journey into the "special world", fitting with the Hero's Journey story structure. Meanwhile, Johnny's season ended with Kreese's return and him saying, "Everyone closed the book on us. They thought we were done, but now they see... that the real story's only just begun." This clearly indicated the expansion of the story into the "special world". Miguel is in neither of these scenes.
s1 also delivered on the promise of the story being from the bully's perspective. Though this isn't stated in the trailer, the story is pitched this way in interviews. Even now, the story is still pitched this way in interviews. The Cobras came back in s1 and believed that they're the heroes in the story. By the end of season, Johnny realized that they aren't the heroes. By the end of s5, it still hasn't sunk in for Miguel that he wasn't the hero in s1.
5 seasons later, going into the final season, Robby is still the kid whose story fits the description that Ralph gave for the Karate Kid story: "It's a story about a boy who needs a mentor, needs a father, and he’s got all the odds against him."

Hello!
Thank you for answering all those questions! It's really enlightening and I love it very much!
I have a question but I'm sure you have already answered it. Unfortunately I can't find it 🙈 but if it's too bothersome please ignore everything.
It's about the fall. I know Armand had his little mind in it so it didn't happen exactly like this but Louis fell and it was at least partially Lestat's fault, wasn't it? I know your theory about his hair. There are many question marks in my brain and I hope they answer some of them in the future seasons 😊
Glad you like! 🥰
Ahhh, the "drop". They better give us more context next season, because there are still sooo many things off there, despite Lestat admitting to it at the trial.
So, if you know the "hair" theory you know about the lack of blood there, and ... well.
Even back then, when the episode 5 aired, many theorized that the "drop" (or fall) would be set up as a parallel with another fall - namely Armand throwing Lestat off the tower after the trial.
Now, they gave us the tower scene instead. The "psychological wound". Personally I don't buy that one, sorry. For one, there is a comment by Sam that he wanted to go "full ghoul" (but Rolin pulled him back because they show us that psychological wound), and also there was a comment ages ago that you cannot "set him on fire twice". And I do think that the skin on Lestat in the reunion scene looks still healing. And then the weird discussion there, and Lestat just "hanging out" to "find his origins in Magnus' dungeon? Where he was kept chained with the other bodies? Tortured? No. Don't buy it. Sorry not sorry.
In the books, Armand takes a tortured Lestat out to the tower after the trial, and lies to him that Louis is already dead. And Armand lays the blame of the destruction of his old coven to Lestat then, refusing to help him, even though he told him he would if he ever returned to Paris.
"And it was you who drove us out of it with a flaming sword. What do we have now! Answer me! Nothing but the love of each other and what can that mean to creatures like us!"
That last sentence is particularly interesting here.
What do we have - nothing but the love of each other and what can that mean to creatures like us!
Armand is extremely disillusioned with Lestat in Paris, when he throws him off the tower - because he had hoped Lestat would return to Paris - for him. He offered help to him after all! Told him that only them could love each other! But Lestat returned, to get help - and save Louis and Claudia. And in that context... the words that were spoken in the sky between Louis and Lestat are really interesting:
I have waited, Louis. I have patiently waited in vain for you to love me as I love you. Just say it. Say, "Lestat, I am never going to love you". It would help me a great deal to hear that from your lips your quivering hateful lips.
I would not be surprised if we would get a similar scene between Armand and Lestat in season 3, which would then at least echo what happened there, in the sky.
And I wouldn't be surprised if the part outside, and the part up in the sky were maybe still different than what we got to see.
The fall happened, I think that's clear now. But there's still details missing, imho. Details they hinted at only.
We will have to see what Lestat's version of events is. There is definitely a lot of context missing, a lot of reason (to the whole of the story). There are events which can only be told by Lestat or Armand... and well, I don't think Armand will be telling them in s3. And he was not willing to do so last season, obviously^^. S3 is The Vampire Lestat... it will be very interesting if they include that part of the book - and how.

what would have been really interesting for a dghda s3 plot would be to have riggins come back to maybe help dirk, or is part of the case and is connected enough that they kind of have to deal with eachother again
i love all the blackwing plots, all the government bad guys like freidkin priest etc., they all gave a more extreme idea of blackwing (and i think that was important to really unveil how traumatic blackwing was when the projects were kids) but after season 1 riggins was never seen again!
but I think what would make blackwing worse would be this old sweet looking man that seems caring, and seems like you can trust him. it has a unique effect psychologically of growing up in this overtly violent and dangerous place, and even the one part you feel safe around is secretly the man in charge of it all.
like in S1E3 when the two meet again, there's already so much emotion in it that you can tell sooooo much shit went down that even in s2 was not explored enough.
like, its one thing to grow up terrified of priest and everything, but I bet you dirk was so trusting of riggins in the past, until some big thing happened that completely flipped that feeling of safety
ALSOOOOo adding a reunion in s3 would make for such emotional, well-done scenes from Samuel Barnett. like mentioning S1E3 again, its onnly the third episode of the entire series, we know nothing about dirk at this time yet Sam's subtle emotions are so compelling. I would give my left leg to have a scene where after so much emotion from having to deal with riggins again builds up and one day dirk just snaps and it gets like heated. idk i think dirks anger really needs more of a spotlight sometimes
im realizing now that ~~maybe i just have daddy issues and something about dirk finally airing his grievances at essentially his father figure would make me so happy~~ but i wish people talked more about riggins! he and dirk have such a dynamic relationship that would be so well done on screen omfg

I don’t know if this an unpopular opinion but I think they never gave Loumand a chance, with them putting Sam/Lestat in their scenes in Paris, thinking about him or talking about him. It’s like they NEED the white guy to be there so the viewership doesn’t decrease or something. I will say this though, Loumand’s dom/sub power dynamic is so interesting and I’m glade they added that layer to their characters because of their past as a slave/pimp.
this kind of ties into another ask so let me post it
A white YouTuber Katie o'shaughnessy got an interview with Assad. They are definitely pivoting to white audiences for s3 and because this show it’s gonna blow up since amc has a deal with Netflix. It’s gonna be on Netflix later this year.
they've def been focused on whiteness in various ways between show and audience. lestat didn't need to be there at all and we know that was done on purpose for whatever excuse they want to give too. they said that out loud. it's annoying.
I think dom/sub and slave/pimp over simplifies a lot of what's happening too. I think it's all a part of a full picture. those elements are there but they aren't the only ones. u need all of them to rly do any kind of analysis of the relationship, if that makes sense. I haven't been checking tags in a min but I'm sure posts have been made about this.

apologies if you've been asked this already, but im curious what your hopes are for dm in the show (in terms of happened in the past/will happen in the future/both/secret fourth option(?) and what you think is most likely to actually happen, if those arent the same thing
(it turned into a pretty long post when I had it all typed out, sorry.) I think my hopes are pretty much in line with what I expect the show to do. I definitely think we're getting Past Devil's Minion. it's been hinted at in promo too much for us not to see Luke again. Luke did a lot of promo to begin with for a one episode character, especially if we wouldn't see him again for the rest of the series. Compared to Madeline who was in more episodes. Now, you could argue Luke is better know, but I don't think Luke is anywhere near a household name. We have seen all three them of them talk about Young Daniel. Eric wants to see Luke do a scene with his ex wife/ex-wives, Assad wants a threesome scene where Daniel and Luke merge into each other. And Luke would like it if Alice was Armand. I think if Young Daniel was a closed chapter the actors would be discouraged from talking about it, as to not raise fandom expectations the show had zero plans on filling. Not to mention we had Vampire Sam at the big opening of the season 2 and we had Luke there as well. No other TdV actor was there, only the 'big' characters and actors. And where we haven't seen much of Vampire Sam yet, we will be seeing him again in S3. So, I think Luke being there and pairing him up with Assad for promo was a deliberate choice. There are some things in the show itself that also make me more sure that Young Daniel will return. We know old Daniel has a faulty memory and that he is still missing pieces. And that he also doesn't remember everything properly from how thinks it went. His own auto-biography isn't a correct story, as highlighted by Louis being the stranger he once met. Memory is the monster. Daniel feeling freer in Paris to hold 'Alice' hands, Armand triggering Daniel's memories. Raglan knowing Armand wouldn't harm Daniel. Armand caring about Daniel enough to stop Louis from hurting him, from crossing lines, offering comfort and apologies. None of that makes a lot of sense if they weren't something at some point in the past. Especially because Jacob said in an interview that after San Francisco Armand and Louis kind of went their own way, where they didn't always check up on each other. Armand, according to Daniel, would disappear for long stretches of time in the book, which could easily be during the chase. Armand going from Daniel to Louis and back. We also don't really know much about Louis' past and if Armand was always there. Nor do we know when Armand discovered he could walk in the sun. We have a good 50 years of 'nothing' that we still need to see. We still have to learn when and why Louis believed Lestat was dead and murdered by him and Claudia. Or when Louis found out Claudia hated him. And when he forgot about that. Why did Louis stop killing in 2000. What happened that made him want to change. Who did he kill? If we still have to get all that knowledge I have to assume, there is knowledge in those years that we also need about Armand, Lestat and Daniel. So, I guess, I always simply look at the book as being slightly altered but not much. Past DM is still the QoTD chapter bare the turning which is now their separation. And instead of Daniel going mad and being with Marius, the show aged him, gave him wives and daughters. The present is the show's version of the Prince Lestat trilogy. When they reunite. Anne never wrote those scenes out, so the show has a lot of freedom to decide how to go about this. And I think with this set up, Devil's Minion can be the best couple on tv in a very long time. With all the drama, love, lust, longing, fighting, toxicity and warmth, that only they can have. With the whirlwind rollarcoaster romance and the heartbreaking separation of the past, to the challenging, yearned for, longed for, painful, healing and hopeful reunion. I'm not psychic though, but i do really hope this is the direction they are going in, it's the one I would pick and I think it's the one that will have the highest success rate storywise.

Never hated a fandom as much as this one in my life. And watch AMC magically know how to market since they can center the white man. Literally spoiling season 2's ending because they do not give a fuck and it's actually disgusting to me. I have some faith in RJ when he says he wont sideline Jacob, but the way AMC was shoeing in dreamstat for white audiences, the way AMC didnt give a fuck about promoting the actual leads of this season, the way they had Sam interviews ready to drop while not giving us a single thing on the jassad front, the way the white man who plays young Daniel in one damn episode had almost as many interviews as Assad and the way this nasty fandom has only gotten louder about being racist and antiblack like...Good Luck, Charlie🫡
amc’s current priority is their immortal universe project and it shows. This whole renewal news should have dropped after s2 finale airs instead now it overshadows louis’ end of arc. What a complete failure on amc studio team, how can you have a once in a lifetime television show yet still fail so hard on marketing and promotion (using AI for poster design when they have promotional stills and teasers, decisions to decline major outlets’ interview invitations, screeners mostly sent to white book fans who gave bad reviews etc) and now don’t even time the s3 news right? Truly bizarre

so i know we just have to accept certain retcons, but the big one that bugs me is yellow eyes's plan for sam and how it doesn't fit with all the vessel stuff. how do YOU make that work in your head?
hallo hallo anon, you have hit on one of the Great Big Bugaboos of spn canon and also the #1 evidence we have to throw in the face all those goofs who uncritically repeat the "Kripke had a 5 year plan!" factoid. He clearly did not, he was flying by the seat of his pants, and while he managed to put stuff together in a fun way the pants are Not Coherent.
Nevertheless, we can make it work, and the way we make it work is that the various members of the angelic and especially demonic hierarchies do not have complete information. Let's do a rough timeline:
In the beginning Chuck created the universe. This is widely regarded as a bad move.
Then, you know, handwaving on him setting up some version of a 'destiny' story arc which will inevitably end in his two sons fighting to the death, via characters he'll create called The Winchesters.
After inventing demons and being a real jerkface, Lucifer ends up in the cage.
In the 70s or whatever, Azazel goes to Ilchester to butcher a bunch of nuns and talk to daddy Lucifer -- Lucifer says "you have to help get Lilith out of her pit so that the seals on my cage can get broken." Azazel says, "But how, Evil Daddy?" Lucifer says, "This really special child." -- HERE IS WHERE THE RETCON APPEARS TO HAVE HAPPENED, BUT WE CAN WORK WITH IT
Sam Winchester is fated in the demonic archives among the true higher-ups, but lower-level demons don't necessarily know about him and his importance.
Azazel starts seeding the earth with special babies. COMPLETE CONJECTURE TO FOLLOW: While he knows that Sam is the one who will be Lucifer's vessel, he also knows that a series of events will need to occur so that Lucifer will get out of the cage to take his vessel in the first place. The first seal is the most important: a righteous man must shed blood in hell. How do we get that to happen? CONJECTURE TWO: I think that Dean must be the Righteous Man because of his place within the tripartite celestial structure: God-Michael-Lucifer mirroring John-Dean-Sam. I do not think that John could have ever actually been the one to 'spill blood' that would allow the first seal to break. (Ethical conjecture three: perhaps it's the weakness itself which has its own kind of righteousness? John's implacable; Dean is not.) CONJECTURE UHH FOUR I GUESS: Azazel is designing an elaborate scheme to ensure that Sam will die on a particular day (maybe bc it works well for opening the door to hell?) specifically to ensure that Dean will sell his soul to bring Sam back, and thereby doom himself to the hell where he will break the first seal.
This should be 6b but tumblr doesn't work this way: now, would it be a hell of a fucking lot easier for Azazel to just ensure Sam dies somehow? Yeah. But given everything we know about him and the dorky-ass demons who hang out in s1 and s2, Azazel is clearly a dramallama and does stuff for the lulz. Plus, I think there's an element of 'proving' to Sam how much destiny has a hold on him, because that is so important for his grooming into saying yes to Lucifer. If he was just hit by a car or something it doesn't have the same effect than if he's part of the emo hunger games.
Sam dies; Dean sells his soul; Sam lives, and wants to save Dean. But of course, he can't save Dean, because Dean *must* go to hell to ensure the first seal is broken. This is why the angels don't help Sam at all, and why Ruby is allowed to run around with impunity. Happily the writer's strike intervened and gave us a miserable fucking s3 finale where that happened, because that is WAY more interesting than Hero Sammy Saving The Day.
Ruby has been getting instructions from Lilith the entire time, presumably since she became a demon herself, and gets launched literally as soon as Azazel is out of the way to continue the Sam-grooming.
CONJECTURE FIVE(?): Azazel and Lilith fucking hated each other, lol. But it's Lilith who's the *actually* important demon, so she wins and Azazel gets sacrificed for being really bad at teaching drama.
It's not actually that complicated, but you do have to take "the special kids were just sacrifices on the altar of let's see what we can get Sam to do" as a given. If Sam had actually started killing all of them, that'd be one thing, and Azazel could have turned that to his favor before maybe having Ava stab Sam in the back regardless. (Then, a Special Kid will go and open the devil's gate for him anyway, so the demons can get out there and start their important seal-breaking prep.) Since Sam was being such a Good Guy -- well, so what, Ava will kill all the rest of them, and then either her or Jake will get turned easy-peasy and kill Sam too. Dean will make his deal either way, and the apocalypse is off with a bang. Or a sick crunching of knife into bone.
Anyway, that's my theory. It fits alongside my ironclad theory that all of history and fate and destiny was leading toward two brothers standing in front of each other in a cemetery, and the only real free will starting once Dean could choose what to do when Sam-as-Lucifer stood in front of him, and what he chose was to be there for his brother. Thereby giving Sam a solid space to grasp and overcome Lucifer, and then save all the days. The Righteous Man who begins it is the only one who can end it, as they say.

Seven months later - Rant about Ted Lasso
How is it that I'm the same age as the creators of Ted Lasso (yes, that old) and I've never held a grudge in my life with a real person or fictional entity as long or in any similar way as I hold a grudge over S3 and the ending of this show.
They sucked me in as S1 gave me a false sense of security by not going down the predictable, awkward scenarios and flipped the narrative on time-honoured tropes. I trusted them... and they tricked me.
Tumblr media
I am not a TedBecca shipper (but I get them), I saw clues to Nate's personality in S1 (so I wasn't surprised), I knew Jamie would have a prodigal son arc (been there, done that), I even understood why they put Rebecca & Sam together even though I hated it (Age gap: too icky for me, but May-December flings are fine. Employee/Employer power imbalance? No thank you!)
But S3? It went against everything I hoped for in that season. The way they told the story, the individual arcs, the lack of accountability (a theme from earlier in the series), and the finale ... oh, the finale.
Honestly, they kind of lost me in E1S3 due to the way they dealt with Roy & Keeley. As you can tell from my posts, they were my favs. Problem was I waited for SOMETHING every episode that would help them and when nothing happened, I just got deeper and deeper into noticing how LONG the show was or how MESSY the editing was or how BORING or CONVOLUTED or BUNGLED certain arcs were. I noticed it all because from the get-go, E1S3 prepped me for disappointment.
I guess they wanted a certain type of person to be unhappy. That type of person was me...
How do people get over this kind of weird, obsessive disappointment? How do I get rid of this hyperfixation? I'm a full-grown adult. I've handled lots of trauma and tension in my life, but I can't get over being mad at this fucking tv show.

RoyJamieKeeley Fic
Still working on my RoyJamieKeeley post-S3 fic. I got stuck again for a while, but I got unstuck tonight, so he's a little snippet to celebrate.
A few days later, Keeley and Jamie left for Brazil for Jamie’s Nike shoot. Left alone for a week, Roy tried to keep busy so he wouldn’t think about them. He spent time with Phoebe, who was starting to get impatient for summer holiday but could be convinced to spend all her wayward energy on playing football with Roy. He saw the yoga mums twice, once for actual yoga and once for a night of drinking wine, watching rom coms, and gossiping. He told them he’d gotten back together with his ex-girlfriend and they all smiled and told him how happy they were for him and how much more of a grump he’d been without her. Roy didn’t mention that said girlfriend was dating another man at the same time and told himself it was just leaving out unimportant information and not actually lie, but he wasn’t sure he believed himself.
Roy also had a meeting with Rebecca, who told him she wanted to promote him to manager of Richmond. He called her mad to her face and she still seemed to think giving him the job was a good idea.
“I don’t want to do press conferences and shit,” Roy said.
Rebecca was unfazed. “Here are my options, Roy. I can make you manager, which is a job I think you’ll be good at. You know football, you know these boys, and they trust you, which makes you the best fit. I can make Nate manager, which I don’t particularly want to do after he defected to West Ham last year. He has experience and the boys seem to have forgiven him, but I don’t trust him enough yet to give him that much power. The other option is to bring in someone from outside the club. Higgins gave me a list of candidates and a lot of them are very qualified and are interested in working for Richmond now that we placed second in the Premier League, because they think they can get us a trophy next year. However, anyone I bring in is going to have their own style and they’re going to undo all the hard work Ted’s done over the past three years. And what Ted did, however unconventional, has been working for us. So, if you don’t take the job, any thoughts on how I should proceed?”
Roy grunted. It was a good argument and Rebecca knew it.
Roy liked coaching Richmond. He didn’t really want to work with some new shitbag coach who would come in acting like he knew anything. Who might tell the team to stop playing total football or take that shitty, ripped-up “believe” sign off the wall. Who might not flip Jamie off in the middle of a game or push him to go back out even with an injured ankle. Who might not support Sam’s protests when they cost the club their main sponsor or might not like the fact that Colin had a boyfriend. Who might not defend Isaac in a post-game interview after Isaac attacked a fan in the stands for his homophobic comments or who would hear that famous women got their private photos leaked and react with less horror than the rest of the Richmond boys.
Roy liked the culture Ted had created at Richmond. Sure, his methods had been downright insane at times, but they’d worked. This was a team that respected Keeley and Rebecca, that accepted Colin, and that tried to be good people as much as they tried to be good footballers.
Roy didn’t want to lose that.
“Fuuuuck,” he said, a curse of resignation and realization.
Rebecca knew him far too well at this point, because she just smiled victoriously. “I’ll have Higgins send you the paperwork this week. We’re also going to be looking at player transfers, so I’ll send you tapes for anyone we’re considering. Do you have any thoughts about which players we should take a look at?”
Roy grunted. He’d had this job for all of three seconds and Rebecca was already giving him work. He hadn’t even told Keeley yet.
“We need a centre back with more speed,” he said.
“Noted,” Rebecca said.
On the way home, Roy felt a strange kind of loneliness take over him.
He’d gotten a promotion and even though he’d resisted it, he kind of wanted to celebrate. Like when Keeley had been made a CEO of her own company and they’d popped champagne and Roy had spun her around and they’d fallen into bed together.
But Keeley was halfway around the world with Jamie. On vacation, even though she’d refused to go on vacation with Roy to Marbella last year. And Roy knew it was different — this was a work trip with some fun thrown in — but Keeley was just restarting her business with Rebecca as the main investor and she couldn’t possibly be less busy than she’d been last year.
A tiny, mean voice in Roy’s head said that the difference was Jamie. That Roy hadn’t been worth the time away from the office, but Jamie was.
Roy shoved the thought away.
He went home to his big empty house and stared at the bottle of champagne in the fridge. He couldn’t tell the yoga mums he’d been promoted because they still believed he was an accountant and he had no fucking clue what accountants did or what the fuck their position was when they got promoted. Plus, he didn’t want to spend all evening lying about the job he was celebrating.
The team was scattered around the world, visiting their home countries and families while they were on summer holiday. What other friends did Roy have? Keeley, who was his girlfriend again? Jamie, who was Keeley’s other boyfriend and was also not in the country? Rebecca, who was more his friend through the transitive property than anything and was also his boss?
Fuck this.
Roy took the bottle from the fridge. He was about to pop the cork and drink straight from the bottle when his phone dinged with an incoming message.
It was a series of photos from Keeley, showing her and Jamie shopping. One photo showed Keeley in a dressing room, trying on a dress that made her look fucking amazing. Another showed Jamie with about fifty bags dangling from his arms, posing like he was lifting weights. Keeley was standing beside him, holding one tiny bag, and grinning widely at having a fit footballer to play her pack mile. Then there was a picture of Keeley standing next to a suitcase with a price tag on it, presumably something she was buying to bring all her new clothes back to England, a cute guilty smile on her face. The last picture showed the two of them in a store, both wearing black leather jackets. The one on Keeley was ridiculously oversized and the comical frowns on both of their faces told Roy that they were dressing up as him.
Another text arrived from Keeley.
Miss you! Do you want either of these jackets?
Roy was very picky about his leather jackets, something that Keeley had learned early in their first go at a relationship when she’d tried to buy him a present. It may seem like Roy put no effort into his all-black look, but he was very particular about what clothes he thought was worth buying.
It was sweet of Keeley to ask.
Send a video, Roy texted back.
A minute later, his phone dinged. The video was of Keeley in a dressing room, wearing a shimmery grey dress with one of the Roy-sized leather jackets over it. Roy had clearly interrupted her in the middle of trying on half the store because there were clothes over every inch of the dressing room. Keeley did a little spin for the camera and Roy caught Jamie’s reflection in the dressing room mirror, smiling at Keeley like he was in love.
Fuck.
Would Roy have had that indulgent, lovestruck expression on his face if Keeley had dragged him shopping for stupid graffiti clothes for Jamie? This was Jamie’s holiday with Keeley and she was still taking the time to message Roy and Jamie didn’t seem to mind at all.
Roy’s phone dinged again, this time a message from Jamie. It was another video, showing Jamie walking along a wall of all-black clothes, including at least four different leather jackets.
“I think we found your store, mate,” Jamie said, panning the camera so Roy could see the words John John lit up in the back over the counter.
Fuck. Roy was being a sorry sad sack and a bit of a prick. And he absolutely refused to be the biggest prick in a relationship that included Jamie Tartt.
You look beautiful, he sent Keeley. I like the jacket Jamie was wearing.
Keeley sent back a series of smiley face emojis.
Roy called her and she picked up on the second ring. “Hi, babe? How’s London?”
“I miss you,” Roy said. It was probably the easiest thing he’d ever said. Usually, Roy had trouble expressing any emotion that wasn’t anger and he knew that. But missing Keeley was all-consuming. It was a physical ache inside him, just as real as the pain from his knee, and he didn’t know how not to say it.
“I miss you too,” Keeley said.
“How’s Brazil?” Roy asked.
“It’s good! I think the photoshoot with Nike went really well. They might offer Jamie a larger deal as a brand ambassador when we get back, but don’t tell Jamie that. I’m negotiating right now and I’m not sure it’ll go through.”
“I’m sure it well,” Roy said. “You’re a brilliant negotiator.”
“You’ve never seen me negotiate,” Keeley said.
“Sure I have,” Roy said. “What about that time you convinced me to try being a pundit.”
“That was in your best interest, and I’m pretty sure we were arguing.”
“Or that time you convinced me to go to that launch party for that watch company you were promoting.”
“You have to admit, that was great press,” Keeley said. “Everyone’d heard the story about your ex stealing your Rolex, so you replacing the Rolex with a John Hubert watch really connected the two brands in everyone’s minds.”
“Well what about the time you convinced me to both cook and do the dishes when I made you a fancy dinner?”
“I bribed you with blowjobs,” Keeley said. “I don’t think I can use the same strategy here.”
Roy laughed. He felt so much better after talking to Keeley for just five minutes. Suddenly, he didn’t care that she was a continent away. He still wanted to tell her the good news.
“Is Jamie there?” he asked.
“He’s in his own dressing room,” Keeley said.
Roy was surprised. He figured Keeley and Jamie would take shopping as a chance to watch each other strip in the same dressing room. But he knew fuck all about shopping, so maybe it wasn’t that weird that they were in two different stalls.
“Can you get him?”
There was a long pause that Roy knew was Keeley working through her surprise before she said, “Yeah, just a sec.” Her voice sounded slightly farther away as she called “Jamie!”
A moment later Keeley’s voice came out sounding a little more robotic. “You’re on speaker, babe.”
Roy cleared his throat. “I talked to Rebecca today. She made me manager.”
“What?” Keeley said, sounding stunned.
Yeah, maybe he should have worked up to that instead of announcing it right out the gate.
“She gave me Ted’s job,” Roy repeated.
A whoop went up from Jamie, so loud that Roy had to pull the phone away from his head so he wouldn’t blow out his eardrums.
“Congrats, mate! That’s fucking mint.”
Roy grunted. He didn’t say that he was bricking it over trying to fill Ted’s shoes, but Keeley must have released because she said, “You’re going to be amazing, babe. I’m so proud of you!”
“I don’t know,” Jamie said. “I mean, mostly Roy’s been coaching me so far. I’ve got more talent than all the boys on the team and I’m a pleasure to coach, so you can’t measure Roy’s success by how brilliant a player I am.”
“You’re a fucking nightmare to coach,” Roy said, even though it wasn’t actually true. Jamie did anything Roy said, even when it was embarrassing or he was pushing his body beyond what most coaches would demand of him. Roy liked telling Jamie what to do and seeing how hard he would work to achieve the impossible, even when the only reward was a little grunt from Roy.
“I guess we’ll see if you can bring the other lads up to my level,” Jamie said, cockiness and disbelief in Roy’s coaching skills rolling together in his voice.
Weirdly, Jamie’s pestering filled Roy with confidence that he could do this. He would be the best damn manager Richmond had ever seen, if only to prove to Jamie that he was wrong.
“Be careful what you wish for,” Keeley told Jamie sweetly and that buoyed Roy the rest of the way up. Keeley believed in him. She believed in him enough to tell Jamie to suck it, even if she did it in nicer terms.
Roy wanted to tell her he loved her, but the first time he told her after they got back together couldn’t be over the phone, with Jamie listening in, while Keeley was on another continent.
Instead, Roy just said, “At least I know what the fucking offside rule is.”
Jamie and Keeley both laughed, though Jamie laughed harder. Roy wasn’t sure Keeley knew the offside rule, which was a travesty given how many footballers she’d dated.
“Well celebrate when I get back,” Keeley said. “That’s wonderful news, babe. I’m so happy for you.”
They said their goodbyes and when Roy hung up the phone, he felt a lot more determined and a lot less alone.
He checked his inbox to find an email from Higgins with his new contract and and some player files with stats and videos. Several promising young players were listed, as well as some old-timers on their way to retirement from some of the better clubs.
He poured himself a glass of champagne and settled in to do his job.

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 💗
Only counting completed works, and not in any particular order:
El Serpiente y El Halcón: My S4 fic I wrote before the season aired and by far the longest fic I’ve ever written. It was a very ambitious fic that had to juggle a lot of storylines and character beats, while also dealing with making Miguel and Hawk a couple. I learned a lot about the structures of writing while working on this one, and it’s probably still the fic I’m most proud of. Plus, I predicted that Hawk would get his mohawk shaved by Robby lol.
The Wheel of Imbalance: This one started because I’d seen so many people use the balance wheel as short-hand for saying characters should be a couple, and I was like, “Okay, but what if the characters hate each other and managed to nail it?” I wanted to examine just how similar Sam and Hawk are in a non-romantic setting. I’m still heartbroken that canon decided to pretend that everything between Sam and Hawk in S3 never happened but at least I got to give it the hyperfocus this rivalry - the best rivalry the show ever had - deserved in this story.
Let’s Try Coronas Instead: Another Miguel/Hawk fic, this one was in many ways actually more difficult than “El Serpiente y El Halcón” because, for a majority of the fic, it’s only about two characters. That turned out to be a lot more difficult to center a story around than I imagined. But it did mean I got to do a long character study of both of them, but especially Miguel. It was just the breather fic I needed to write at the time. We’ll always have Migueli in Mexico.
Three Seconds: The most depressing fic I’ve ever written lol. But this “What if things went really south during the forced haircut” scenario also gave me a chance to write things from multiple POVs: Robby’s, Miguel’s, Sam’s, and Johnny’s. If I did my job right, you feel for every character in this, and you understand why there was no way this fic could have a happy ending. It’s emotionally taxing, but it’s supposed to be.
Uncaged: The fic I wrote for Halloween last year, it was fun writing Hawk going in the opposite direction after his mohawk was shaved, where instead of reverting to his S1 meek self, he instead goes the other way and takes his S3 bastard self up to eleven and goes full hammy slasher villain. I did still try to have a theme about toxic masculinity in there but it was also just a delight to play with horror movie tropes, especially since this one was inspired by Jennifer’s Body.
