on to vrisjade... don't mind me dumping a whooole truckload of Words under the cut this is how i process things to make decisions

so. vrisjade. not a ship i particularly know nor look for, but neither was jakeradia yknow i can find joy in anything! and they're no exception, i think i would give silly doggirl and her Will Bite You spider gf a nice pat on the head. looking at both their Um It's Complicated dating histories and raising an eyebrow..oh man would they need time, So much of it, but yknow when it culminates into vriska bullying her gamer gf into Drinking your goddamn w8er!!!!!!!! mid-cod game, and jade tackling vriska to the floor simply for the sake of it, that's goals tbh. think i might like them vacillating pitch. maybe? that's something i'll have to explore in content to figure out thinking face

there's something about the fact that vriska holds herself to a standard of being the one who Has Her Shit Together (lol. lmao even) and how she makes it a point to push the people she cares about to do the same, or at the very least if they're soooooooo inc8pable, leave it to her. cross that with jade "i have to keep everything together i have to do the things right i have to be the hero, i cannot fall apart, i have to get this Done" harley, you get something fascinating.

they're both so cripplingly lonely, one physically one emotionally (saying this loosely, they cross into each other in this aspect), and struggle heavily with vulnerability. vriska desperately wants to be heard, but more than that doesn't want to be seen as weak. jade just wants everything to be okay. have to be seen in a certain way, guiding lights, ugly messes beneath the brilliant glow. the sun and the stars. i think they should bite and maybe kill a little

oh man will they need a lot of time to work this out though. i think it could easily topple into something unsatisfying and painful for them both, it's like almost midnight i can't quite grasp why yet. but i think, if they love each other despite it, they will be able to find a way to be okay.

oh, no problem friend! so basically, last year, during my last semester at school -- which is when i started peppermint, actually! -- i got my teaching credential for elementary school ( k-5 ) which was so exciting!!! but oh my god, i was EXHAUSTED ( which is why i fell in that Summer Schlump tbh [ it was my Stan Season ] because i'd never had that much free time before which was too much tbh ).

but anyways! for context, to get my credential, i had to work in both a lower elementary & an upper elementary class! more info under here!

so my first semester i worked in a 1st/2nd grade class which -- i loved them so much when i left i cried ( the kid that told me he hated me my first day and threw a STAPLER at me was actually in that class and he was the one child that had to be forcibly removed from me on my last day because he wouldn't let me go bc he didn't want me to leave....WHEN I TELL YOU I WAS CRYING LIKE LITTLE MAN DON'T DO THIS TO ME!!!! <//3 ;-; ) but yes, i literally adored them, they were so stinking cute -- i can't talk abt them too much or i'll Cry.

my second semester i was in a MASSIVE -- when i say massive i mean massive, we could barely move in that room -- fifth grade class and i also loved them sm -- they did dunk on me all the time smh -- and when i revisited them later, they were SO EXCITED, oh my god they gave me Hell during my semester, but they were Angels when i came to visit like!!! everyone hugged and high-fived me...love them, they were so funny...i miss them every day ;-;;;;;; AAAAA IM CRYING

but for This Job, i'm actually not working in one Specific classroom, i kind of float around and work with a lot of different ages/grade levels! which has been...Interesting for me, lmao! it's an adjustment for sure.

my favorite time is hanging out with the tiny little people ( if i could choose a grade level to teach it would probably be k-2 ) i read them lots of books and sing them a lot of stuff!!! were learning our letters :) i also dress kind of like Teacher Harper Finkle and they gas me up so much -- i came out of a classroom the other day to a bunch of first graders AND THEY ALL CLAPPED I DID A SPIN AND THEY WERE LIKE YOU LOOK LIKE A FAIRY PRINCESS WOW WOW WOW!!!!

i screamed they were SAUR CUTE!!!! heaven!!! all of them! angels! -- they really like all my apron dresses and my fuzzy ear muffs and my crazy eye makeup and stuff i love them so bad -- SOMETIME STHEY ROAST ME THO!! they don't mean to -- one day last year, i was hella late and tired and i had a Manic Uncle Nina Moment and bleached my hair but was too lazy to tone/dye it a color ( my hair was a lot of different colors! it was actually blue last year bc as a treat to my fifth graders, i let them choose a color for my hair! thank god it wasn't puke green IT GOT REALLY CLOSE I WAS CRYING PLSSS HELP )

and she was like Miss, Did You Do Your Hair! & i was yes, i did friend and she was like Can You Do Something Else It Looks Weird like KHDSLDKH STOP THE VIOLENCE!!! PLEASE!!!! BRUTAL OMG ;-; but at least she was REAL! W/ ME! i like the tiny ppl -- theyre honest.

which is why i'm kind of having trouble w the older kids bc its not in my wheelhouse to teach older kids so i'm a little...Stressed, smh. it's bc i can't really tell if they like me/are secretly roasting me -- also the high school boys were giving me The Business abt their phones smh i was like THIS IS MY JOB BESTIES DONT BE LIKE THIS PLS -- anyways they kind of scare me, smh, but i'm sure we will be close in abt a month...i am pretty chill or i try to be! <3

my specialization for school/my teaching philosphy focuses on SEL or social emotional learning! which is concerned with mental health, making sure kids feel safe, loved, validated...i'm v Passionate abt it.

i'm actually so passionate about it that i was thinking of going Back To School ( whichhhhh sahdkad UUUUUGH ) to get my license to be a guidance counsellor!!! post covid kyle and i are like the same person i swear. idk teaching math is hard and i really just enjoy hearin about kids days and helping them with stuff that's not subject related, idk.

i'll keep you guys updated! i actually have a lot of down time in my position so i am in the staff lounge answering these! which is fine tbh the adults are chilling but if the older kids who can READ accidentally glimpse my sp fanfic i will cry i would be so embarassed i'd never hear the end of it smh IF ANYONE IS READING OVER MY SHOULDER PLEASE GO TO JAIL MY FRIEND!!!! SMH!!!! SHOOOO!

hi so i just finished reading your Eternal Sunshine of the Absent Mind duology and OMGGGGG reading that was such an amazing experience?? 

your handling of the unreliable narration was SOOOOO well done–it left the perfect amount of gaps in the narrative to keep me hungry for answers but included enough details to not be confusing or disorienting!! that stuff seems suuper hard to pull off but you did such a great job,, your handling of Steven's amnesia and the way his mind blocks certain things out is really awesome too because there are a couple scenes where it works REALLY well (like the part in the library where Cynthia says United — and it could EASILY be US or UK, and also the k—ing scene in the first work; that emotionally destroyed me as with most of the fic).

the headspace imagery also had such creative and interesting ideas,,, khonshu as the pigeon,,, the scrabble magnets,,, the symbolism of the changes happening over time to the phone and the computer,,, 

your depiction of all the characters feels on point—love how you were able to demonstrate a lotta familiarity steven and marc's speech mannerisms from the show—and i really love your characterization of jake,,, he's always struck me as a very tragic character n i feel like you got that across perfectly,,, plus, the "that'll be $2.50" line killed me

also i just really adore how you skillfully organized everyday events to lead to varying conflicts in the story and connect to plot points in the show (ex. steven's pigeon experience leading to him becoming vegan); you seem like an incredibly facile writer and i am excited to devour your other fics

//Oh gosh. Boy oh man do i dislike container themes. Theyre okay when they're large enough to read, but most of the time they have teeny tiny 2pt font that i cant even be bothered to try reading. i shouldnt have to zoom my web browser in 250% to read a blog. Not happening!

//Underrated is definitely harder. Uh... To be honest, besides blog themes i don't really notice many trends in the rpc. I guess fandomless OCs feel a little underrated. NO WAIT, i can make this one about themes too (seriously, custom themes are one of the best, most unique parts of the tumblr experience and i love them) Too many people rely on Carrd these days. I get it, it's hard to redirect folks who use mobile (thanks staff), and you gotta know html to customize a theme, but I'm just not a fan of carrd's limited customizability when tumblr themes will let you do so much more for free. But i've also been editing themes since i was like 13 years old so maybe i am just built different. Who can say.

Hey everyone! As MANY of you know following last night...

I am a transgender woman!

Big moment for me! I have been for many years actually, I've been out in my public life offline for quite a while now! But I was always nervous about coming out online, for a myriad of reasons I don't really think I need to get into. But! I'm so glad I could come out in the silliest way possible. I'm super honored by all the sweet messages I've been getting, and it has me incredibly overjoyed that everyone has been so supportive of me. Thank you to everyone who supported me on this silly saga, and I hope it's been worth the wait! It feels REALLY nice to finally be out online, as this was really the last space I wasn't "upfront" about it. As much fun as being a mystery was, I much prefer being explicitly a girl online much like I am in real life.

A couple things!!! I don't want this to be everything about me; it's partially why I didn't come out earlier! I've seen how some audiences make the transness of creators their WHOLE thing, and I'd prefer it not be the thing that defines me. I LOVE being trans, and it's a big part of me, but I'd rather be known as someone who makes really cool art and not "that funny trans woman" (even though I am, hehe). I'm super cool with people talking about my transness, just don't make it the only thing about me!

Two, as fun as the pronoun mystery was, it's officially over! Sorry to the any/all-he/him-they/them punkitt truthers out there, btw. (Excited that my energy really isn't genderable at all, though!) So, even if it was fun that I was a gender mystery, I'd prefer everyone refer to me as she/her exclusively! No he/him, and I'd prefer not to be they/them'd consistently (although I know for some people it's the default and it's fine if it slips, and if someone just doesn't know that's not an issue in the slightest). Even if me being a funny gender wizard is entertaining (and it WAS, lemme tell ya) I want to have my identity respected!

ANYWAY that's all that LAME STUFF out of the way; I want to say thank you to everyone who's helped me along the way and the overwhelming support I've had in the time of me coming out to now. I'm incredibly happy I have an audience of such sweet, caring folks, and I can't wait to make more silly, fun stuff for everyone now that I'm truly allowed to be my silly, fun self online.
