The Web - God of Fate (she/it): im pretty happy with her design atm, shes meant to be a half spider half woman thing and i love that for her. shes probably the one ive thought the most on so far given her importance to the story. i want her to wear silks and shiny silver jewelry that just sparkles like wet spiderwebs do, not sure if im gonna keep the veil?

The Dark - God of the Dark (she/he/it): probably my weakest concept at the moment. it doesnt do the dark any justice. i mean i like the cloak idea but i want them to be very tendrilly, all consuming, shadowy, but i dont know how to properly portray them :/

The Desolation - God of Destruction and Fire (they/it): i have a neat vision for them! i want them to be made of coal and ash and smoke, to be burning and glowing on the inside, and their body is decorated with melted wax to look like clothes. not quiiiiiite sure about how their melty candle dress is now? i want it to be less constrictive

The Stranger - God of the Unknown and the Whimsical (he/she/they/it): it's meant to be this. weird wirey creature hidden behind masks and a lot of fabrics, like the framework of a poseable plush doll? i like the way the masks look but im not so sure about the body.

The Vast - God of the Above (she/he/they/it): im not so sure about his design at all im gonna be real. i want them to look like the atmosphere and be covered in clouds and have mountains for feet and an ocean cape but i feel like it might be a bit?? idk??? im just not that happy with it :/

The End - God of Death and Time (they/it): ugh i love this concept sm, making death read as less scary and more divine is so fun. theyre based on a seraphim and a sand timer,

The Buried - God of the Underneath (she/he/they/it): ANOTHER OF MY FAVORITES!!!! i love them. theyre inspired by hermit crabs!! and they have silver chains holding their shell to them. they look so endearing with their lil lopsided eyes ;; <3

The Flesh - God of the Body and Meat (she/he/they/it): i have so many ideas for the flesh y'all- im very excited to do a concept sheet for them. theyre meant to have no skin, just exposed bone and muscle, large limbs, hooves, exposed heart underneath a ribcage, teeth that close around their abdomen. white bandages that wrap around like clothes. a teeth/horn crown? i dont quite know whether to go for a more animalistic look or a more human one? like- theres so many ways to go with him idek!!!

The Hunt - God of Predators and Pride (they/it): see, i like this design but i feel like its too werewolf like? yknow? thats cool!! but itreads more monster to me than God :/

The Corruption - God of Nature, Rot, and Disease (she/they/it): i love this weird bug thing. this one i was really inspired for (mostly because. corruption aligned. so obviously im gonna think about this one alot) theyre this weird bug thing, the veil is inspired by the one from the art on the wiki! i want to maybe make them a bit more gross and weird because nature is like that sometimes, a moot on tiktok suggested that i add animal bones!! and i think thats SO smart im absolutely going too

The Spiral - God of the Incomprehensible (it/its): this weirdo is so hard to pin down istg. i imagine them as this spiral thing. body is kindof liquidy, arms are spindly and long, multiple shifting faces, overall just constantly changing and moving and like!!! how am i meant to draw that??? when my brain cant even wrap my head around what its supposed to look like yknow??? bruh jrdbhgfjdldgfh- that being said i think the main problem with the design is that it just gives me too many Michael vibes!!! is it the hair? the arms? its probably both.

The Lonely - God of Solitude and the Self (they/it): i like what this one has going so far! theyve got fog hair, fog tears, their body is meant to be splotchy like turquoise marble, i vibe with it so hard. not so sure what to do with their outfit tho :/

The Slaughter - God of War (he/they/it): another one of my more stronger designs i think! centaur with weapons sticking into them, face concealed, medieval armor and antlers- it vibes

the extinction isnt drawn because i literally have no idea what they should look like aside from color palette-

I can see Jack/Soldier giving you advice on how to grill things. He’s happy to teach you and is so proud when you successfully grill your first steak.

Reaper will slide you cookies when you least expect it. Blink and you’ll miss him, but there’s a cookie on your desk or on a table next to you and his cape just barely visible leaving the door frame. I love his cookie emote sm

ok soooooo a whole essay about NOS4a2 and why he matters to me sm as a f/o ever

k so, starting off.

what makes him special design wise?

first of all, his whole design is sharp and edgy(literally.lotta edges). each end is pointy and sharp . lotta triangles used in his design. but despite that there's something interesting about how he has a cape (something usually made out of soft fabrics) as a cover, but even so the sharpness REMAINS. something else is how he has like two different eyes, which one of them is a monocle which is slay idk lol. also something else is how he's not like- he doesnt look strong physically at first sight even tho he's trully capable of being so . also fangs; LITERAL energy vampire, it's so cool as a concept.

ok personality wise:

most of the times he's on scene, it's always this very classic "muahahaha evil" kinda deal, he's silly af. geniunely enjoying it . he keeps on making stupid unfunny jokes all the time and he laughs at his own stupid jokes lol. idk i think it's cute and sillly waaaaaaaaaaaaa

BUT! he's capabe of being TRULY TERRIFYING (like half the robotic gore in BLOSC is caused by him lol, also his plan in ROTM was dark af)

it's even more interesting cuz his motivations are simply, yes being in charge as a SECOND need. the FIRST need is mainly to feed on robots. SENTIENT ROBOTS. LIKE HE D O E S WANT TO FEEL THE THRILL OF THE KILL. HE COULD JUST DRAIN from lifeless machines, but he'd rather HUNT and play with his food, if you will.

it's just very interesting.

now, SPECIFICALLY WHY do I like Nos and why is he so important to me?

so in general i was/still am a villain apologist ok? i always loved villains, no matter how evil they were. it sortz felt really comforting. but something about Nos specifically felt very special . possibly the fact that the first episode i watched in general was Revenge of the monsters (aka the climax of his character in everyway) .so basically my first impression was based on seeing him in his best if u know what i mean . like if it was any other episode things would've gone differently but that's not the case as you see. like ROTM is like this whole bigger climax yk? say, if it was another episode there's a high chance zurg could've been my fav character but boy he literally ran like a coward in ROTM so i just didnt care much cuz he wasnt in the ep as much as NOS.

like yea in an alternate reality it could've been Zurg but NUH UH . Nos it is.

also the fact that ROTM is like, as i said, sorta sums up his whole character in a great way . so when I watch that episode i IMMEDIATLY got attached especially when my introduction to the series is this. both his ultimate downfall and like .. the top of his character arc . like, INSTANT attachement.

another thing to note is how like … the whole episodes sorta focused on his turning every Z to an N .

ok here i might start explaining things a bit too personally here but ok it's an essay . ok so the circumstances of me watching the show for the first time were…something.

see i didn't have much friends back then as a kid. even the ones i had were pretty much SO different and can't understand me cuz im that shy, weird kid who goes on info dumping about my interests it might get annoying. but nobody understood those interests except ONE friend. whom just left and idk where he is till now. another thing to add, being the weird kid sorta let people exclude me and/or bully me soooo yeah .

so my putting that into prespective with the whole Ns all over the place thing in that specific episode sort of.. made me relate ya know? feel like it's specifically an episode for me . there was something nice and comforting about it.

the fact that it's the first letter of my name (which at the time was a big deal cuz all my favs didnt specifically put that fact into like, part of the story like Nos if u get me.) like, something about a villain i KNOW has the first same letter in their name as me, being all goofy yet menacing, also a vampire of sort -i am obsessed since day one idk) just felt right.

last part of this might sound silly or stupid but like . another reason WHY i felt this connection to Nos specifically till now :

people i know irl did NOT know what blosc was.

even the few who knew, don't remember it or specifically know who Nos was when i asked them.

so it's like "damn. all this epic character being so obscure and unknown despite everything they did?…sounds like me "

so until i went online and find more blosc mutuals (and till i went to Uni where people know it somewhat and still take show suggestions seriously from me) it just felt like this one character was specificaly made for me . like, this one character nobody knows except me . cuz i'm just as unknown and as unnoticed irl .

conclusion:

and to this day that still stands . Nos is still one of the turning points in my life in general. be it in art , in social life , or in general anyways. still my favourite fictional character of all time . my Top 1 fav and my main comfort character along Antasma and Zira for similar reasons.

Johnny wasn’t wrong. About 90% of your work was Ryan but that wasn’t your fault. He was just so beautiful to photograph. You could never take a bad picture of him, his cute button nose and his curly hair, blond or brunet it looked good. But you weren’t in love with him or anything. You had known Ryan for years, what with being the designated photographer for the CKY crew and Jackass now that they landed a movie deal. You guys were best friends and had been forever. It was only natural you were more drawn to photograph him than the others. That’s what you told yourself anyhow.

“Hey.” You spoke, not looking up from your computer as you greeted the blond walking into your room at Bam’s house. “Whatcha doing?” He asked throwing himself onto the bed. “Come take a look at these shots, they’re just for the Jackassworld site but I think they’re cool.” Ryan pushed himself off of your mattress and leaned down to take a look, his head resting on your shoulder. “Nice.” He muttered as you showed him. “That’s a good one of you.” You pointed out a specific one of him with his curly hair all messy, a pair of aviators framing his face. “They’re all good ones of me.” You laughed but he was honestly right. “You’re easy to shoot.” Ryan kissed your cheek roughly to make you laugh, “You flattering me to get in my pants cam girl?” You rolled your eyes. “Cam girl? Tension you hated and never wanted to address. So you didn’t, you bathed in it for months.

It was promo time for Jackass: The Movie and as the official Jackass photographer you were stringed along with the boys. Unfortunately much of it involved sitting in a chair uncomfortably while the crew did press, bored out of your mind. You sat in on one interview with Ryan, Bam, Chris and Steve-o from behind the camera, sipping on a bitter black coffee and making casual conversation with some lighting guy. You zoned out of the small talk to listen in on a question, it was about girls or something you presumed fro Chris and Steve-o’s giggly answers. And then it was Ryan. “I mean, yeah I guess I’ve gotten more girls since the show. Not a girlfriend or anything but yeah.” He said awkwardly, clearly a little uncomfortable. “And were they hotter than before fame?” The interviewer pushed, the other guys laughing awkwardly but Ryan just scratched the back of his head. His eyes flashed over to yours for just a second and you realised you probably looked like you’d been slapped in the face unintentionally. You weren’t sure why but Ry talking about other girls always made you feel a little uneasy. “Sure, I guess.” He spoke, clearing his throat right after. You poured the rest of the coffee down your throat and excused yourself to get more, walking off almost in a huff.

You cursed yourself for being so awkward about the whole thing, you probably made it so apparent that you were what, jealous? That was fucking stupid. You fumbled with the coffee pot as you heard the interviewer thank the guys and everyone get up to prepare for the next one. “Hey.” Behind you Ryan lingered. “Hey.” You replied, trying not to make eye contact just yet. “Can I talk to you?” Your cheeks started burning. “Yeah, what’s up?” You put the paper cup down and turned around to wait for him to say whatever he was going to say. Ryan looked almost more embarrassed than you, his nose a cute red. “Like in private.” You found that kind of weird seeing as there was no one around you that could possibly hear your conversation but shrugged anyways. “Okay.”

You followed Ryan into some green room, there was a thirty minute break until the next interview seeing as they had been doing them consecutively for a good few hours. He shut the door and you sat on the couch. “Are you okay?” You asked, Ryan had become even more jittery and nervous than he was a couple seconds before, he sat beside you. “Are we good?” You narrowed your brows and laughed nervously. “Well yeah, why wouldn’t we be?” He looked serious, quiet. “Ryan?” “I’ve been thinking about what you said about what Johnny said.” You scratched the back of your head and spoke lowly. “Oh.” The tension could be cut with a knife. “I’m tired of pretending it’s all fine.” Your face stiffened. Ryan looked at you dead in the eyes, “He’s right, I do love you. And I don’t know if you love me but-“ You cut him off with a kiss. Hands on the sides of his face, rough kiss. He reciprocated immediately, barely flinching. Your lips moved in sync and you moved over to be closer to him as his hands gripped your waist, fingers slipping under you shirt to touch your flesh. Your arms found themselves around his neck before Ryan leaned down to lay you on your back on the couch. His rough kisses continued before he pulled away and began kissing down your neck.

Me as a person just resonates with Amity a lot. Even though I found the show as I was 17 going on 18 and not at all in the same age range as her. When I first saw the show back during 2020 in the pandemic; I'd seen an Instagram edit. My entire feed was blowing up about this show. Like "Oh my god these two characters are really hinted at being gay!!" Because Enchanting Grom Fright literally was such a big thing, and even though I had no idea what this show would become; it literally was an eye-opening experience.

As I said, I was 17; but I was out as a lesbian (not nonbinary yet but a month or so later I did), and for such a long time I was struggling to find actual mf representation that fit and represented me. That's one of the reasons why I believe shows like TOH are unbelievably important to have-- because that representation can literally save people's lives. Anyway... Finding out that Amity was cannonly a lesbian (or was suspected to be subtext wise) and Luz bisexual, my entire demeanor was like "this. This is absolutely the content I needed when I was younger."

And I love Amity for many reasons, not just as a representational aspect but as her character develops and grows, she starts to change over the course of the show in a way that is healthy. She's realizing how to act for herself-- something I also related to because of semi-not-so-great parents. And her making decisions for what SHE wants.

Her and Luz's relationship as well, it's so undermined as just "oh they're gay" not just that but the fact that Luz is able to show and reveal the parts about Amity as herself, and help her grow; not only as a person but into someone she wants to be?? Amazing. Their relationship is real and feels truthful. Especially when they have that miscommunication about Luz's Dad and them just talking. They aren't perfect, but they communicate, and they do their best to be there for one another.

And not only that but Amity being so worried about not being a good girlfriend for Luz because she cares a lot. Just feeling insecure, but like Luz being her; she doesn't care!! She likes Amity as she is, and she doesn't even think twice if she's "good enough" or not because to Luz, she always is. In combination of that thought too it's like, Amity being afraid of rejection because she feels that Luz can see her for who she truly is despite what guard she projects and holds up from and on the behalf of her family name from the earlier of S1. Just the whole part where Amity over the course of the story changes and is actively flawed in ways that doesn't constitute for dismissing that previous growth that Luz helped with.

She is flawed but she is herself.

Also, not to even cover her designs throughout the show, I absolutely love her timeskip design. The undercut?? Absolutely love. Every fit she has, she absolutely rocks. Same with Luz. They just both look so slay. The absolute power couple.

Anyway, what I'm getting at is that not only because of Amity but also as a whole with TOH (just in this case of her because she's my favorite character) that representation that Dana brought to the table with TOH was so impactful to me and like- Amity is just so cool. I love her.

So about the stars >=) there is a sun and people in the world Assume there May Have Been more like it in the past!! But the sun is to their world what one random dragon would be to us, really; it's there, and no one can deny Its Nature, but people are a bit confounded or skeptical about it. The absence of light at night has largely been blamed on vampires as something they achieved (incorrect, though they do benefit from only having one sun-source to worry about). But there's no more proof for that theory than there is the concept other stars ever existed at all :3

What actually happened doesn't have any definitive documentation in canon anymore!! It was all intentionally destroyed by the involved parties and the main characters never fully learn the big picture <3 but essentially. An extremely long time ago and far beyond living memory, some particularly ambitious individuals decided to Bring Down and Swallow stars for their power ^_^ the resulting conflict was apocalyptic but ultimately the stars lost, and so there are no stars anymore =) unless

The giant fucked up wall could refer to three things and I'm insane so I will tell u abt them all ^-^

The titular City of Gears has many a fucked up wall !! It was built into a mountain and meant to be a sanctuary for vampires, away from the sun. But the original architect wanted to ensure the vampires were safe from even the most immortal threats (teehee!!), so he designed the city as a labyrinth with hundreds of walls that could rotate, appear and disappear, and raise and lower; this on top of stationary walls, as well. The idea was that the labyrinth's pattern would never be the same twice and change once a month, thus making it impossible for an immortal threat to spend centuries memorizing the city's layout for an attack.

Blynnfell's Crown isn't necessarily fucked up and crazy insane like the City of Gears' rotating labyrinth but it is Different !! Blynnfell is the capital of the country and sits on the southeast coast, sort of boxed in by the continental-long Blackcrest River and the sea ^-^ it's surrounded by enormous and thick as hell jagged shards of stoneglass (in our world we call it alexandrite). Its primary purpose is to absorb light reflecting off the ocean + manage the city's light pollution, but it's almost as hard as diamond, so it makes for excellent defense as well. The city is always surrounded by a very colorful glow, it's rather pretty =)

The Spire isn't technically a wall itself but it is fucked up <3 it's the seat of the Lovely Prince (the title of the current and singular god). It's been heavily enchanted and covered in illusions; the Lovely Prince doesn't actually maintain it well, so it's a rather derelict mess in reality, but the illusion projects an opulent veneer. The illusion persists as long as the Lovely Prince is around to maintain it :3

The characters ougghghghgaaaaa the characters >=) I am sure u have heard me mention all of them at some point but the core four are Daciana Cel Tradat (vampire), Mortimer Crackbone (human), Vidar Rothmoor (fey), and Kadija Ekunye (human). The four of them get together to kill the Lovely Prince ^-^ I won't get TOO into book 2 shenanigans here just bc this is already soooo long SJDHGDSG

Daciana is the head of the group and the duology's deuteragonist. She personally assembles the gang to kill the Lovely Prince, she plans out how to travel to the Spire without drawing attention, she refuses to stop until she completes her goal, and she goes against the vampiric Grand Coven's warnings to do it. Daciana is a very "I will do what I know must be done" kind of person, which does a lot for driving events both good and bad <3

Mortimer is the soul of the group and the duology's universal foil. He quite literally monitors and cares for the souls of the other three. He contains multitudes and is deeply understanding of other people's multitudes as well; his protectiveness and gentleness directly impact the end outcome. Mortimer also foils almost every single major character; he represents both someone's doomed villain and someone else's redeemed hero.

Vidar is the body of the group and the duology's antihero. He is a creature of indulgence, and indulge he does!! His hunger and consumption have enormous ramifications on the plot, especially leading into the second book. Vidar is also fundamentally selfish, cowardly, and mocks other people's feelings for a laugh. But still he takes the heaviest beating in defense of the other three, and consistently utilizes his advantages as a fey for their benefits.

Kadija is the heart of the group and the duology's protagonist. She can and will choose kindness every single time, even at great cost to herself, which shapes the entire overarching plot. Kadija is also the center of the conundrum and always was. She is the core of the story, the overlaid note in everyone else's arc, and she always was and always would be. Kadija's arc would have happened regardless of what the other three did or didn't do <3

5. leavanny! it's just so cute while also being fun to use! i love the detail that it makes leaf hats for sewaddle, that's absolutely adorable. not much to say about it i just think its super neat and i love it

4. scyther/kleavor! i usually put the entire evolution line together lol but in this case, i just like scizor a lot more than both of them and it doesnt feel fair to put em all together. but that doesnt mean i dont like them! i think theyre extremely fun to use in their own rights and i love love LOVE both of their designs! absolutely stunning guys

3.skorupi...... oh my goodness it's just a little guy. its just a fucked up little scorpion. its so goofy but idc. im shaking his tail hand as we speak. id put drapion here too but its not a bug type lmao

2. scizor! it's another case where making an oc of it just made it skyrocket as one of my faves. it's SUCH a cool and interesting pokemon to me. i love it's design and the concept of a pokemon evolving but having the same stat total, just with reshuffled stats so it takes advantage of different techniques. plus how it's a byproduct of a human concept like the electricity from trading. makes it interesting to think abt w my pmd hcs lol. ESPECIALLY now that kleavor is in the mix and is very obviously a parallel to scizor by having scyther evolve from more common minerals. also? i just love battling with it. it's extremely fun to use and the typing is easy to cover (and i do not get why ppl use the 4x fire weakness as a reason it's a horrible evolution to scyther.... girl scyther has 5 weaknesses INCLUDING another common 4x weakness. cmon now.)

heracross!! it's sometimes tied or surpassed by scizor but i really love it so much, i have a lot of fond memories attached to it. i somehow managed to snag one in a platinum nuzlocke and i LOVED that heracross a ton, she absolutely packed (altho she died on iron island :( its ok tho she was around for most of the game) and thennn i made a pmd oc of it in atlas (and later maya) and that just solidified it. lmao i could go on as to why i love it sm but it's just so good. i know its not underrated by any means, but even then i don't think it gets enough love.

OK SO THE BEGINNING SEEMED PRETTY NORMAL. always like seeing capture the flag, very fun!! Im a certified hater of the saytrs that were dissing grover, they can go like, fall in a hole or something.

Sphinx scene was very silly, sphinx is bbg, she is one of my favorite monsters cuz she reminded me of nepeta from homestuck.

Percy getting blown up by a volcano filled with silly little feral creatures is also pretty standard, then getting saved by some garden person. Her name was calypso, very nice name!! Her character was also refreshing.

I’ve been thinking about them looking at sm too and I completely understand staying off it as much as possible but I wish there was a way they actually checked in with the people who care and also those who for whatever reason can’t go to the shows or meet them. I don’t think it has to be all or nothing in this case. The Wembley livestream was good for that. I am also a fan of a band who set up a Discord for fans to interact and at first I was sceptical because I didn’t understand how it worked at all but it actually works really well. There are mods who make sure that nobody is being rude or inappropriate and that it’s not super chaotic and everyone there is just super nice. It really does feel like a positive community, no we are better than everyone else, actually the opposite, they’ve been so welcoming to new fans at shows too. And some of the band members show up from time to time and do a little Q&A or even ask about what the fans would prefer for merch, like literally pick between a jacket or a hat or something. And it’s really good because if they just want to check in or run something by the fans they get a real time quick response. It’s like a better less toxic closed community Twitter in my opinion with all the roasts and teasing but no rudeness or name calling for the people who want to be there. Even not that long ago people there complained about sound check being too expensive (in an honest non rude way compared to the ig comments) and the band got to see it quite quickly. I don’t think they are doing anything about it at this point but at least they’ll know for future. And the people there are super talented too, creating their own shirts or designs or sharing covers. It’s pretty cool and I’d love to see ATL do something like that.

I would like to see atl do that, too. But I don’t think I personally could be a part of it bc Discord servers give me anxiety lmao. Regardless, I also hope that they can find a way to connect with fans more without having to see the negative shit. They’re dumb if they think that the fans who stuck around don’t have opinions.

Extreme Meatpunks forever is so SO good omg. It's a VN/mech brawler where u be gay and fight fascists!!! Trans and nonbiney ppl are out here being badass af. The game has cws/tws built into the game ( which i love sm ) Also there's a ttrpg on Kickstarter RIGHT NOW!! 

Another game with nonbinary characters is an rpg called Ikenfell! It was one of my favorite games to play last year and the music and just everything? Honestly so good I'm def replaying it this year. It also has tons of good accessibility features!

Another game studio I love is @pillowfightio !!! They worked on Later Alligator, We Know the Devil, and Heaven Will Be Mine. I highly recc all of them but esp. Later Alligator cuz like just look at Joanie. They're so cool.  

In the game Everhood gender doesn't exist <3 Literally multiple characters are referred to with they/them pronouns and the gameplay is very enjoyable 

 CW LOTS of flashing lights and I feel like there should maybe be more cws but I'm not sure what else to add :l I guess a warning is that Everhood gets into more serious stuff and I'll be honest when the game first came out I had to put it down for several days b/c I just wasn't ready for a lot of that stuff, but I honestly liked the game a lot!

I was debating on adding this bc while I love this game there's some issues. So Gnosia is like werewolf ( or among us if you will ) but more narrative focused with time loops etc. There's two wonderful nonbinary characters and you can be nonbinary HOWEVER ( minor gnosia spoilers. skip past if you want to avoid it) . . . For some reason finding out the AGAB of one of the characters is mandatory and I fucking hate that. It's so unnecessary esp for the world building that's been done. Also tws for the game: sexual abuse / assault, gore ( in only one scene ) (spoilers end) but yeah I still added it because the characters are so neat and strong for the type of game it is and without that bit I wouldn’t feel so :/ abt recommending it. It’s pretty fun ngl

Wandersong!!! The main character is nonbiney and I love them <33 It's such a lovely little musical adventure with such a nice narrative and!! Some of the devs just released Chicory ( which I haven't gotten to play yet ;v; ) but check that out too!!

Bravery Network Online is super fun!! It's a turn based rpg that feels really good and has two characters that use they/them pronouns ( Fel and Reed ) the character designs are sooo good and the game is currently in early access!
