Also this I think is the first like proper ask I’ve got 🎉🥳

I have A LOT of thoughts about Eddie and Maddie so you may eat your words a little but it’s fine🤩

Maddie and Eddie for me really deserve more scenes together not just because of their link through buck but through the fact that the writers make very distinctive parallels between Maddie and Eddie and Buck and Chimney.

Lemme explain, Maddie is the carer older sibling who had to step in and be parentified in a way, Eddie’s dad wasn’t around so he was forced to do the same, both of them bottle up their emotions for the sake of the people they love until it comes out in extreme ways and they both struggled with the similar mental health issues, they are both runners in one way or another- Maddie is canonically “the one who leaves” and Eddie left to go to the army at different points of Christopher’s childhood and also when he left to go to dispatch you can also argue that was part of that. Also they both feel a lot of guilt surrounding the fact that they weren’t there for their kids’ babyhood (is that a word? I’m making it one) eventhough in my opinion neither were to blame for their circumstances, both had first marriages that ended badly (understatement for Maddie obviously) and that they have mixed feelings about. Also both of them forgave their parents despite how they wronged them.

The buck and chimney parallels are also unreal but I’ll try to limit myself a little cos that wasn’t the ask, but like they were both the sibling that was unloved and deprived of their parents love they both sought honorary parents in a way (lees for chimney, bobby and Athena for buck obviously), both have the whole 152783 million deaths but always somehow lucky thing going for them, both are very big emotions people, they both struggled to feel seen by past partners, they both had no clue what they were doing and had many different jobs prior to firefighting even both were shown as bartenders as their last jobs before firefighting. Okay I’m cutting myself off - about chimney and buck at least.

But yeah the Maddie and Eddie parallels should make them have at least some scenes together and I feel like they can hit a lot of emotional beats together for scenes well.

Like their personalities and experiences are similar enough that they could be such an iconic duo but too similar to have pulled off a Maddie/Eddie thing like the writers initially planned (let’s all once again thank god for Jennifer love Hewitt🙏🥰) like can you imagine Maddie fresh off the trauma from Doug having to step in and be part of Eddie’s family? Or Eddie’s fighting era or Eddie’s mental breakdown if it was Maddie instead of buck? Like Maddie and Eddie both need a balance of the type of people they are, a yin to their yang (or actually maybe more Yang to their yin 😭😭) and those people are chimney and buck!!!

I also definitely think Maddie knew about buddie since day one like girlie dropped the boy crush comment then the he’s cute followed by buck talking about Eddie not chimney felt like her testing her theory like she legit walked away before he finished talking with this little ‘that’s what I thought skittles squad😌’ look on her face.

I’m not caffeinated enough to think anymore but yes 10000% on board with the Maddie and Eddie siblings in law thing for those reasons and also cos Eddie befriends every woman within 5 minutes of meeting her (unless it’s one of bucks romantic interests😭😭) and yet we haven’t really seen him and Maddie interact, like we’ve had how many buck hospital visits and not one Maddie and Eddie in the waiting room scene?? Rude as hell if you ask me

COTL : "A Tale of 2 Tigers(Game Save Journal Log)

"Hello cultists, I'm back with a new post after quite a long time so I'm going out to the city for the party on Saturday and pretty much posting while I still can before I leave later on..

So wanna just post something fun and I'm in the salon getting my hair finished while posting this also lol!

Anyways here's the pics I took from my switch

So both of these photos are basically a new Headcanon for Samantha Bloodsucker(my favorite spouse) and her gf Midge(besties in the game save!) Daughter Maxine Bloodsucker!

Maxine or Maxxi for short has been quite a mom for the past 493 days in the Midsummonar Cult save(which is prepping up for Unholy Alliance Day next month in August!) And basically made a name for herself as the longest living member of her family with her 2 moms Sammi and Midge making a huge successful family of children(main 3 being Maxxie and her 2 older twin siblings Dayton and Kaitlynn!) And a few other siblings in miscellaneous.

But throughout her life she wanted to find her perfect partner in the cult and type to match with and someday mate and have Offsprings with..

She had went through her fair share of lovers from her past life(as Abomination Maxi) being with Apollo Soulshroomo(both are Deceased) and are now resurrected into new forms from Lambert rituals as Maxxie now is very similar to her birth mother Sammi with her bat demoness features and Purple fur and horns of lavender with a small piece of Midges strong persona..

One day she met a orange and yellow tiger cat named Armen Clawshauser who was a cute shy teenage tiger boy and loved Maxxi since childhood as a baby and later on teen in present day..

The 2 hooked up in the mating tent during one of the many ritual of lust from the leader and successfully had their first of many children named Carmen Clawhauser Bloodsucker and later on more children/offsprings(or descendants as the children are really called in the game) with their younger sibs of Cera Bloodsucker(2nd younger sister), Kuzco(younger brother) and Valkrie(youngest sister) and soon more and more Offsprings as the days reach to almost the 666th day of the cult which is a big milestone to remember and celebrate with lust, drinks, riots and more for the whole cult before the unholy alliance and arrival of the goat soon by next month!

But Maxxie had thought about another tiger she saw who was a green and teal fur manly muscular one named Apollo Tigerclaw who was the total opposite of sweet shy Armen(her current husband) he was buffer, and a teaser towards Armen and obviously wanted to have Maxine for himself without him knowing she's happily married..

So basically Maxine is in the middle as now 2 tiger boys(Armen and Apollo) both have love and affection towards the teenage blood bat demoness follower gal and both want her to win her affection and choose..

So that's what the pics above are about and more will be explained soon..

I’m rambling.

Number 7: what tattoos i have and their meaning.

I’m actually really happy you asked that one because I have so many tattoos and i love them ALL!

Okay, I have 12 tattoos. I’ll try to keep it short tho.

1. “Spirit Lead Me” on my bicep. This was my 1st tattoo I got for my 18th bday. It’s from Psalm 143. I’m not really a religious person anymore, but I still appreciate the message. The whole verse is “Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Show me what you want me to do, and let your gentle spirit lead me in the right path.”

2. A small bouquet of flowers on my hip. This one doesn’t have much meaning. It was a last minute tattoo i got because my friend was getting one and the artist was really chill and was like “you want one too?” And i just said sure and let him pick the art. Looking back, i don’t know why i did that😂

3. A Luna moth on my shoulder. I’ve always considered myself more of a moth than a butterfly, if that makes any sense. I took a picture of a Luna moth was i was 16 and i was obsessed with them ever since. Fun fact: the day i got it tattooed i got a Snapchat memory that i took that moth photo 3 years ago on the same day. It was just meant to be.

4. The master sword from Legend of Zelda on my arm. This one is kinda self explanatory. I just fucking love the games. I played my first was i was 9 years old and it became my entire personality for the rest of my life.

5. A soot sprite on my ankle. This one also doesn’t really have a meaning. A friend of mine had finished her tattoo apprenticeship and was doing small pieces on people as practice. So i asked her to practice on me and she gave me a cute little soot sprite.

6. “Set your heart ablaze” on my rib cage. I got this after the demon slayer movie. It’s one of my favorite animes, and Rengoku was such an important character to me.

7. An evil eye with a tear drop under the back of my neck. I’ve always worn the evil eye since i was young. I don’t remember when i started or why, but I’ve always had a necklace or a keychain or earrings with it on. I liked the idea of it on my back bc in my mind it wards off any negativity that people might send me when my back is turned.

8. A cecropia moth on my other shoulder. Not so much meaning behind this one. My other shoulder felt naked and i wanted to add symmetry with another insect. I chose the cecropia moth bc I found one in the woods one time and I felt like some kind of woodland fairy. It was literally the size of my hand.

9. 333. It’s my Angel number. I see it everywhere, and at least once a day. I was also born on the 3rd day of the 9th month and 3 was always a prevalent number growing up. (I was on bus #3. My childhood apt was #3. Me and my sibs make 3, ect)

10. A maple seed. I got this tattoo for my current partner. We’ve been together 7 years and on our second date we walked a nature trail and we had talked about watching the notebook later and I made a comment about “how romantic would it be if we kissed in the rain”, it was not raining that day. So he picked up handfuls of maple seeds and threw them in the air. They rained around us and he kissed me under them. It’s probably one of my favorite memories.

11. Peter Rabbit hugging his momma. This tattoo was dedicated to my mom. My nursery as a baby was Peter Rabbit themed, and I still have a lot of the decorations still in my room 24 years later :’) I also love my mom a lot.

12. A heart locket with my childhood cat in the frame. Pretty self explanatory. It was dedicated in his memory. He was literally the best cat ever and i miss him everyday. He passed on my 19th bday.

Raavi usually giggles a lot, it's a musical and cute sound, and half the time they cover their teeth if they think they're being rude (it's when they don't cover then when they're actually being rude because the funny thing caught them by surprise and they forgot to be mindful)

Órdago doesn't really laugh, but he does huff these little puff of air through his nose to indicate amusement - sometimes he pairs them with a click of his tongue or some tsking.

Luque's laugh is full of snark and can be perceived as offensive sometimes because he's trained himself to sound like a shitty thug . If you get him real good he does these full blown belly laughs that have him gasping for air, but those are rare.

No = What's their pet peeve?

Raavi absolutely hates it when people tap on fishtanks or some other cage for animals, be it at the zoo, the aquarium or the pet shop. They do this very obvious AHEM sound and, if they do not stop, they're openly calling them out in a big voice. Public embarrassment is such a useful tool.

Órdago gets immediately irritated by puns. They're a cheap form of humor and the way strangers or jittery people use to interact with him because "jokes help break the ice". He hates them. Shut up and let him enjoy the silence.

Luque will yowl, and I mean it, whenever someone scratches their nails/claws on a chalkboard. It's a sound he can feel in his bones abd it's awful. His teeth will clatter even when it's only a sound effect in a movie, ugh.

Together = How clingy are they?

Raavi seeks company but that doesn't mean they're clingy by default. Surely, they'll end up gravitating towards wherever their partner is resting, but that's only to be a menace from time to time and maybe honk a titty. When they sleep they do get a bit more clingy but it's very easy to encourage them to give you space once they're fully asleep.

Órdago is incredibly clingy. Once he finds a mate he wants to be constantly around them - which is a bit difficult to handle because he's a guy who really enjoys being alone and who needs to recharge his social batteries fairly often. Once he learns how to balance that, he'll try to maximize the time he spends with his partner and balance it with his valuable alone time. But! He's quite clingy for sure, his favorite thing to do with his mate is hold hands and he's very stubborn about it.

It could be said Luque is clingy... But maybe not to his face. He craves affection and companionship like nothing - he's clearly touch starved but terrified and unused to intimacy, so he never really knows what to do with himself. What does he do? He claims the possessive gestures, like keeping an arm around his mate, or having them sit on his lap, or curling his tail close to them... Just! Because!

Yuck = What do they hate?

Raavi profoundly despises being accused of something they haven't done. It's true they're a gremlin, but their pranks are hardly harmful and they can't stand when someone assumes they're hurting people on purpose. In those occasions they also get really anxious and tend to break down because they don't know how to handle those feelings, so it becomes a real fucking mess in barely seconds. They feel very strongly about this.

For Órdago is rather easy: no one messes with Raavi. His sib was the only happy thing in his life for the longest time. He's very good at giving them their space and respecting their choices, they have the freedom to do anything they want! But the people around them don't. Órdago knows Raavi is harmless and a peacekeeper, and they have a job that puts them in the spotlight constantly, which means many monsterphobes know who they are. As soon as those seem to take action, Órdago is there to tear them a new face. No one is hurting his sib.

Luque hates people who litter. He's a huge nature lover and if he sees someone throwing trash on the ground this guy is throwing hands without hesitation. No one is going to ruin one of his very limited sources of joy, fuck you.

Ooooh for the multiship game, how about Aang? 😌

hi!! oooooh this one is going to reveal some things about me that i haven't really talked about on my account before lol.

taang: i LOVE LOVE taang. it's my comfort ship. there's so much to build off of story-wise in terms of symbolism. they contrast each other, but also have a lot in common--like their spiritual connection with animals (aang with appa and toph with the badgermoles.) the blind bandit is my favorite episode (because toph is my fav character) but i find it really cute how aang was able to recognize her voice just by her laugh, even though she looked different than the vision. also, just the fact that the earth called to him to land in the swamp so that he could see her in a vision and know that they were fated to meet? it's giving soulmatism. i love how much they could draw from each other's element (toph embracing freedom by running away and aang standing his ground.) i love that aang is the first person she talks about both sides of her with, and he is in awe of her (as he is for like ... most of the show lol.) their communication is really healthy, even when they disagree like in the rift comics, they're able to eventually see the other's perspective and resolve with a hug. they're best friends who care very deeply for each other. they are also just a hilariously chaotic pairing (partners in crime like the scams in the FN), but also super soft (taang fic writers and artists are top tier!!!) DUNEBABIES. Ummi/Kuruk. toph has the most nicknames for him and i think that's an affectionate thing. they have similar pasts as runaways who just wanted to be a kid, but were prevented from the normalcy of playing with other kids (aang because he's avatar, toph because she's disabled.) as you can tell ... i really really REALLY love them. also they're both non-binary and pan.

teoaang: cute air bending boyfriends! i really liked that teo had so much interest in learning about aang's culture. i also thought him teasing by drawing his grumpy face in the clouds was cute. i like teophaang too.

aangji: i just think they're cute. she doesn't know who he is--he is just a cute boy who makes her laugh and knows how to dance well.

sokkaang: i guess now is when i say ... i kinda like sokkaang? i really like the drama of the swt sibs dating each other's exes (sokka w/aang or jet, katara w/ yue.) but also, i think they had this initial antagonism going on, and then it turns into, "at first i didn't really like aang, but i grew to love him over time." and ofc he's talking ab in a platonic way, but i think their dynamic is really underrated. i also love that when aang came into sokka's life, he reminded him to have fun and not be as serious all the time. they'd be the ship that would get into all kinds of goofy trouble together.

azulaang: omg how could i forget azulaang!!! i just think they’d be a chaotically fun pairing.

This episode was so good wtf

Like I know it was 1 hour and 27 minutes so they had time, but still, something I don’t like with dramas is that very often an issue drags on for a whole episode or several episodes or a season, but in lovely writer so many things happen in each episode and in this one damn

So much happened???? And it’s very often sadly easy to see where the plot of a drama is going but I keep getting surprised by lovely writer, like they don’t take the easy BL route

This got quite long so…

First, Aey is trying to mess with Gene and Nubsib’s relationships ? Well, yeah, but actually he’s in love with Gene and I really have to watch the episodes again because I really didn’t see that coming, I was so convinced he liked Nubsib??? What clues did I miss?

(also Aey has a very very bad problem with his own self-image and self-worth, he did some very bad things this episode, but this scene of him watching his reflection in his phone, boyyyyyyy, Bruce is a good actor. And like it was a long scene, but it didn’t feel like it, it didn’t feel like time wasted in the episode)

Nubsib is angry at Gene ? Nope, just worried

Aey drugged Nubsib and Gene is trying to find a way to get out this night pUrE? No, my boy Gene is just worried about having sex with Sib for the first time AND actually Sib is somehow just feeling hot and not under any influence, he was just really really into Gene that night

Also so much kissing in this episode?? Like Sib and Gene are in the honeymoon phase of their relationship and they can finally admit to each other how much they love one another. I’m not saying kissing is essential to show in a drama btw, but it sometimes feels in BL dramas that the characters are allowed a quota of kisses per season or episode and once they’ve reached it, it’s DONE, you’ll get a cheek/forehead/hair kiss or a hug, or a high five, but that’s it, and again, it’s not that I absolutely want the characters to kiss, but I can’t help but think sometimes that would it be reality, these people would be kissing right now. So like before Sib’s mum arrived when they were on the couch, the situation they were in really called for a kiss, they were just gazing at each other, excited about this new development in their relationship, but I was in my usual BL mindset of « well, they’ve already kissed enough in this ep » and then they went and surprised me with an another kiss? And not just like a small peck like I’m used to in BL (which again, these aren’t bad, but realistically speaking, this really wasn’t what Gene and Nubsib wanted at that moment) It shouldn’t be surprising, but still it was

AND BAM! The coming out to your parents plot (that is sometimes THE WHOLE ISSUE OF A SEASON, I’m looking at you Korn and Knock) that I didn’t expect in an episode where so much had happened already. So I thought, yeah, they might just pretend they’re not together, we’ll hear some not too good comments from the parents about BL because Gene writes BL novels and Nubsib is acting in one, but nope, they wanted to prove my assumptions wrong again and Gene said he didn’t want to lie to their parents anymore! So yeah, we did hear some homophobia, interesting comments about BL fangirls and how much of a trend BL is right now and it almost seemed like Sib and Gene had changed their minds, but then Gene surprised me AGAIN and they revealed the fact that they’re dating to their parents.

And usually coming out plots drag on which I can understand because coming out to your family isn’t easy, but in lovely writer, in 30 minutes they did so much! Also, in the preview they showed only some parts of this plot carrying on, but I’m pretty sure that like usual with this series, it won’t take the whole episode, maybe the first half of it. And if it does take the whole episode, I won’t be disappointed because I quite like what they’ve done with it already

The double standard of the mothers finding BL cute, but maybe not if it’s their sons. They were saying it would be nice if their sons were actually together, that two grooms in suits would be adorable and that their families would be even closer, but really when Gene and Nubsib admitted they were really together, they went quiet, they cried, they didn’t defend their sons’ relationship to their husbands.

Aaah, the fathers! I expected them to have the worst reactions to Gene’s and Sib’s coming out and also sadly the most « typical »  that we see in series. And they did but not in the usual way it goes. It was really interesting to look at them and see how completely different their reactions were. Nubsib’s father was more about: be careful about my reputation, the reputation of my company and the reputation of this family, and treated his son’s love for Gene like a child’s infatuation that’s gone too far. The authoritative father that won’t even let his son speak and explain, Nubsib could only follow his orders.

While for Gene’s father, it was completely different. He was really really quiet and seemed really suspicious of their relationship before they revealed it and after they did, he just didn’t say a word while his wife kept throwing him worried glances. Then, when it was just their family left, he refused to talk to Gene, just telling him to go to his room until Gene got angry (and again surprised me) saying he was gay (an actual character saying he is gay in a thai bl series, it shouldn’t feel like victory but it does) and loved Nubsib and wouldn’t stop so why couldn’t his dad accept it? Before, AGAIN, dropping a big ass bomb, Gene’s father dated men (or a man) before marrying his mother. As much as this episode surprised me, this shocked me the most lol, I really didn’t expect THAT, but it’d explain Gene’s father’s reaction

Homophobia of course still exists today, but it was even worse when he was young and he never came out and probably chose to leave his partner and lead a « normal » straight life. Seeing your son at around the same age in the same situation but making completely differents choices, choosing to embrace his homosexuality and his love for Nubsib, well, I can understand that he needs a little time to accept this situation and talk to his son

This has become very long and I didn’t think I had that much to say about this episode, but boy I have even more, I loved so much about it. But first:

I HATED that Aey pretended to have drugged Nubsib, especially since he actually wanted to drug Gene and what, rape him??? And then laughing about it? Uh uh boy. Still, I really love Aey’s character, he keeps surprising me and I’m looking forward to his character development.

Otherwise, loved this episode. Gene in particular was really interesting: his conversations with Aey, the way his first time with Sib went (and wow, Sib’s innuendos in this episode, I still can’t get this image of him with his toothbrush in his mouth out of my mind), his bravery coming out to his parents and saying he was gay and forcing his dad to have this conversation and not avoid it.

Loved how supportive the brothers were, trying to tell their parents that society was much more open and accepting nowadays, helping their brothers as well as they could.

I made Glimbow kids! 💖 for Glimbow week

aka the Sparkle Sibs or the Disaster Duo. The sweater is courtesy of their grandaunt Castaspella but the print is all their granddads George & Lance’s idea. 

They can speak telepathically with each other but share no brain cells between them whatsoever! They are each other’s instigator and motivator because that’s what happens when you have a built-in partner-in-crime from the womb. You get confident in doing shit even if it’s positively stupid.

Good news though, growing up in a healthy family with a good support system, these kids are confident and love themselves (i love that for them!) They’re also good with people and emotions because they’re Bow’s children, hello.

Her name is Angel 💖 after Angella. 

But everyone calls her Gel after her granddads GEorge + Lance (it was glimmer’s idea).

The older twin by 15 minutes

She’s bad at magic

But she makes up for it by being super athletic!

Slow learner but tries and tries until she succeeds! (an icon)

Stubborn to a fault (who else do we know that’s like this?)

Wants to do so many things at once, she sometimes glitches

Competitive af. She also has her mother’s temper 

Muscles for days

Loves dresses and skirts but they aren’t ideal when she’s moving around everyday. That’s why she loves attending parties because she can glam up! 

Super social but actually introverted. 

Learned to teleport before she learned to walk. Teleported everywhere as a baby and was a living nightmare for Glimmer and Bow

Then she discovered that she enjoyed running, jumping, sweating and basically every other physical activity. Still a living nightmare though because now, she has broken bones and bleeding wounds!

At 18, she still doesn’t know how to teleport further than 2 feet away and knows only two spells: for retrieving arrows and for breaking things

Basically learns to tinker with stuff like her father because she breaks too many things

Gene and His Creation of Fantasy vs. Real Life

All of these issues, Gene's magnetism towards Nubsib, Gene's burgeoning feelings that he may be attracted to someone, his prior lack of love life, and his own heady imagination, is almost too much for Gene to process. Of course, it doesn't help that Nubsib is right there, practically offering himself on a platter to be both a subject in Gene's NC imagination and a subject of his real world affection and intimacy. It comes to a head when Gene, too drunk to be stuck in the swirl of his inhibitions, tries to throw himself at Nubsib. He acknowledges their chemistry, the flirtatious dance they've been doing with each other, and his own desire for for an intimacy with Sib that goes beyond friendship.

Gene decided to write "Bad Engineer" as a one-off project. Something to get out of his system, please his publishing company, and make a little money off of before returning to his fantasy/sci-fi wheelhouse he is much more comfortable in. In his fantasy/sci-fi world, Gene gets to make all the rules and dictate exactly where the story is going.

But now that "Bad Engineer" has had unexpected success, Gene finds that the concept of BL and the fantasy around BL is going to stick around in his life longer than he anticipated. Whether it's with the tv production, with the pressure to write a new BL novel, or with Nubsib fully entrenched in his life, Gene is forced to confront what is just fantasy, what is real, and what can manifest into something real in his own life in a way he has never done before. And for the first time in his life, Gene has to confront the idea of not only being desired but what it means to desire the same person in return.

After the whirlwind that was Nubsib's audition, Gene's attention keeps being drawn to Nubsib, and Nubsib notices his attention and volleys it back with an intensity that throws Gene off guard. In episode 1, when Tum told him he got cuter since college, Gene flippantly brushed the compliment aside as polite chit chat. Same happened in episode 3 when Hin complimented him and called him his idol, Gene easily dismissed it as someone over-exaggerating to get on his good side. However, when Nubsib compliments Gene and calls Gene cute, he is actually flirting, which means there is a weight and depth behind those words that isn't so easy to ignore.

In the beginning, Gene kept looking at Nubsib, trying to steal glances of him while Nubsib wasn't paying attention (which, ha! Nubsib is always paying attention), trying to figure their chemistry out. And while subconsciously, Gene did this because he is attracted to Nubsib--that maybe Sib's attention isn't wholly unwelcome and so easily dismissed--Gene's brain hadn't quite caught up yet. This is because Gene canonically takes a while to process things. A trait that has only been exacerbated by his solitary lifestyle as a writer, where he shuts himself in his apartment for days to think and mull over what exactly he is going to write and how he is going to shape his plot, writing and rewriting until he's satisfied with the outcome.

Every time Gene has a conversation catching up with someone, he always says he has just been at home writing, i.e. holed at home in his own world where his own concept of time governs his thoughts and actions. And while that's all well and good when you're writing and revising things on a screen, it doesn't translate well into interpersonal interactions with real people. He's desocialized himself, in a way. Since Gene is often lost in his own thoughts, he's not used to needing to provide immediate social reactions, which is a pattern shown with Hin and others often having to repeat Gene's name several times to get his attention until he snaps out of it and responds. The greatest example of which, of course, is when Gene runs into shirtless Nubsib fresh out of the shower and just sort of gawks silently for several seconds.

While Gene is used to taking his time lost in thoughts trying to process what he is thinking and feeling, Nubsib barges in through the fog and talks to Gene in such a provocative way that Gene gets caught off-guard and doesn't know how to respond. There is a fire behind so many of Nubsib's interactions with Gene that Gene can subconsciously feel. At first, Gene can't puzzle out what that undercurrent is because it's so new to him. He accused Nubsib of purposely trying to annoy him because that's the easiest way for Gene to dismiss and shove aside those feelings. Then, as he slowly starts to understand it and feel the pull towards Nubsib in return, Gene has a new problem wherein he can't puzzle out how to express his own desire.

Gene does easily care for Sib in ways that could still be coded as platonic, but those ways also live in a gray area of maybe being a bit too intimate to be strictly platonic. Yes, you can invite a just-a-friend for a meal, yes you can give a just-a-friend a ride somewhere, yes, you can worry if a just-a-friend is sick. But when you're thinking of a person at every mealtime, going to them every time they may need a ride, doting on them every time a small thing goes wrong (checking Sib's temp, cleaning his shirt), is that person really just a casual friend?

It's interesting that, at their college friends get-together, his asshole friend mentions that cute girls used to chase after Gene. Girls were interested in Gene, but, even if he did not know why, Gene was indifferent to them in return. This lack of experience in reciprocation is also why, in episode 3, while there was a clear electric current running between Gene and Nubsib when they were practicing on the couch, Gene doesn't ever relax into the situation but instead keeps his fists clenched and shoulders tight, short-circuiting and bailing right before they kiss. This level of intimacy is too new and too much for this naturally repressed loner and muller to process in such a short time span.

Gene has always been a loner, and he has never minded that, preferring his own fantasy world over the mundanities of life. After all, his chosen genre is fantasy horror, which speaks of a rich imagination and inner world. But now that he is writing this new-to-him BL genre, Gene has to use his imagination to write a love story between two men. Perhaps, instead of thinking only about and immersing himself in a sci-fi fantasy story, Gene is at a point in his life where he, without even consciously realizing it yet, is willing to explore the idea of his own fantasy of romance. His imagination is able to process the idea of BL as a degree of separation from himself (even if Nubsib comes in and shatters that mental glass wall Gene had put up for himself).

And I do think romance is a fantasy for Gene, because it is not something he has experienced yet. Which is probably why "Bad Engineer" is kind of clunky and full of tropes. Boys' Love--or even just love itself--is not a world Gene has been able to fully imagine, process, or feel yet. It's uncomfortable in the way that putting on a new pair of dress shoes is. The pair may look nice and shiny, but wearing them still feels tight and stiff because they haven't been lived-in yet. This is also why Gene struggles so much to write the required steamy NC scenes. He's still stuck in forming his ideas around what romance is, let alone physical intimacy. It's why he has to do so much research before writing anything, it's all so new to him. And while Gene does express multiple times that he has no problem with the idea of physical intimacy with a man, moving past the idea of something into the act of doing something is very different. Yes, Gene and Sib had that one notably more-than-just-chaste kiss right after Nubsib moved in, but they haven't actually done anything but be in each other's physical spaces since.

Gene actually says the words, "even I like you," an admission that he has crossed a threshold towards Sib that he probably hadn't felt for another person before. Gene wants to touch and be touched by Sib. There's still acknowledgement of the fantasy when Gene says Nubsib looks like the lead of a BL novel. But also, Gene asks for physical contact beyond what sober!Gene could muster up the forthrightness for, even if under the guise of "research" for his novel. It's telling that even after Nubsib rejects the idea of a drunken hookup, Gene can't pull himself away from Sib. He's too drunk to process what he's feeling to put into words beyond, "I'm confused," but Gene curling up with Nubsib shows he wants something more, he desires an implicit intimacy that goes past the make-believe BL research scenarios they've predicated their past interactions on.

Gene asks Sib to hold him and hug him. He asks for intimacy. He asks to experience the closeness of a romantic partner caring for him. He asks to lay with Nubsib as the person, not the actor, with him as Gene, not the writer. As the two real people they are. Unlike how he's been living for years, where his whole identity has been wrapped up in his writing and fantasy scenarios, Gene now wants to experience a world outside his head, live beyond what his imagination and any fantasy BL could provide. And, at least internally, when his anxiety-addled brain doesn't get in the way, he wants to experience that beyond-the-BL-novel world with Nubsib.

"Order up! Can we get two blue plates and a Destroya special, hold the cactus!" Party called from the booth they're waiting to Ghoul and Kobra in the kitchen.

"On it!" Ghoul called back.

"Hey," a voice said from behind them, tapping them on the shoulder. Poison turned around to see Jet Star and their cheeks flush.

"Did you um need something Star?" They asked

"It's noon so Venom's are off, I can take it from here."

"Right" They hand him their notepad and pen, "Oh the girls over there want just one milkshake to share so make sure Ghoul puts extra in it."

"Got it, have a nice break." Jet smiled and they try not to beam right back, a small wave and they are hanging up their apron and heading outside.

"Heyy, Party Poison." A killjoy was at their heels as soon as they exit the swinging doors.

"And who might you be?" They pause and lean on one leg as the 'joy caught up to them.

"The name's Band Saw, and well- you don't happen to like roller skating do you?" It took Party a moment to hide their curiosity. They didn't care for tricks or anything but you could find them rolling around. Not like Show Pony who was on quads 24/7. But they did know a certain blue haired someone who was dying to learn to skate.

"Say I did,"

"Well would'jya maybe want to come with me to the rink party Pony's holding this weekend?" Party Poison looked up with intrigue but quickly hid it with a long eyeroll, "I would sooner go with you than get my finger stuck in a band saw." The joy recoiled and took a deep sigh, "Oh ok um, nevermind then." they scurried off. Poison felt a twinge of regret but then happily didn't as they looked up to see Kobra Kid leaning on the back wall smirking.

"Don't they know the first rule of The Diner is no flirting with the waitstaff." He chuckled, "I made the rule to get rid of goonies like that."

"Eh, they technically weren't in The Diner when they asked." They noted as the two walked out to the fields.

"I guess. Here, slap up the sun's nice today." Kobra handed them some sunscreen and went to find a spot in the dry grasses to lie down. "Ghoul said Helibomb is going to come by on Sunday to see about the warm water not working."

"Oh the gal who wears heelys everywhere? I didn't realize she did more than just well work."

"Yep, they say she can even roll on her heelys up hill."

"Seems like just a frequency static rumor to me."

"If it's true then I'm taking one from her book for my bike. I don't care if it's magic or what, I want a piece."

"I'm sure you do. Hey Kobra, could you do me a favor?"

"Sure, what's up?"

"Did you hear about Show Pony's gig this weekend?"

"The partner skate? Sure I have, but I'm not planning on going on account of too many love birds in one flock."

Party swallowed and went red even though they knew better.

"Well duh, I know you're not going. That'd be like me walking into the bathrooms at Hyperthrust during a party." They both laughed and fake gagged.

"But man, for all that I'm supposedly talk of the town, apparently I'm also the last to hear about major events." They threw up their hands. "Anyways, think you could be a messenger pigeon?"

Kobra grinned, "Party,"

"Look- I can't go asking myself, I have an image to uphold!"

"A damn bitchy one" Kobra quipped, chewing his lip. "But no, I get it. Who's the lucky 'joy?" he looked sharply into Party's eyes and they quickly looked down.

"You're going to hate me for this." They said with a flush creeping onto their cheeks.

"I'm not gonna be mad Pois, you know that." he said, hugging his knees and looking at them.

"It's Jet Star." They say with a gulp.

"Party fuckin Poison, what to say." Kobra was grinning and shaking his head as he spoke in a sing song drawl, "You pick good ones. Aesthetics? Top game."

"Shut up!" Poison giggles

"And yes, of course I can do the honors for you- but it better be at The Nest because we all remember the last time drama happened while at work."

"Yeah, bacon and avocado do not belong on the ceiling." Party shook their head and smiled. Their face is still hot but they stand up and shake twigs from their jacket. "Thank you for this, Kid, really."

"Oh I wasn't done-" Kobra said, standing up and pointing a finger at them. "Because I want a favor in return."

"Alright shoot,"

"I don't know what it is yet," he said as they began "It all depends how much of a chaotic disaster the ask winds up being." He laughed and the sun glinted on his braces.

"Of course," Party said with a chuckle but they can't help their mind racing with every dismal possibly that could happen.

"So we only sold five milkshakes today on account of the machine breaking, big deal! Helibomb is coming Sunday afternoon, don't stress it Ghoul." Jet was leaning on the table and poking through music to put on.

"You know they're are biggest seller when it's hot out." Ghoul reasoned as he reached for a brush from the couch and worked on undoing his braids.

"Pst, Poison get over here." Kobra tapped his sibling on the shoulder. "I'm not being your wingman if you're just going to hide in the kitchen." Poison gulped and reluctantly drifted into the living room and stuck to the side of the wall. Kobra looked back at them and smiled and then walked over to Jet who was putting Earthling into the cassette player.

"Hey Jet, I've got a proposition for ya." Kobra grins as Little Wonder came on intermixed with static.

"Oh yeah?" Jet tucked a curl behind his ear. Party cringed at The Kid being so formal but couldn't look away.

"Party Poison here wants to go to the skate party at Pony's rink tomorrow night. And they want to know, if you'd do them the honors of being their date." Kobra put his hands in the pockets of his jacket and rests a contented look on his face. Jet for his part looked astonished.

"Really?" He asked, with a smile creeping over his face, looking from Kobra to Party and back.

"Yeah- but like, only if you want." Party said. They got themself off the wall and managed to stay standing despite harboring no trust in their legs to function.

"No I'd like that, sound's rad. It's just- man I don't even know how to roller skate."

"Oh"

"But I'd love it if you showed me how." Jet finished and Party beamed

"Hey you should pick some skates from the shoe pile, I think TCM dropped off some that might fit you."

"Oh yeah!" Jet bobbed his head and smiled.

He left to the nest and Party followed after him but not before siding up next to Kobra to mutter, "Thank you," with a breathy sigh.

"'Course" The Kid chuckled, "But remember, you owe me."

"Yeah yeah." Poison smiled as they exchanged their secret hand shake. Poison bounded down the hallway after Jet.

"Hi." Star said, quickly turning around. He brushed his hair back for like the fifth time that day and Poison couldn't help but notice all the freckles that had come out from being in the sun on the walk home from The Diner where Kobra's whispered heckling and teasing just made Party more giddy than they already were.

"Hi" They repeated. They knew enough to not think that something like What's your shoe size? was a deemable conversation but were lost of what to say instead.

"Did you really mean me?" Jet was asking.

"What?" Poison looks at him with concern as they pull out the pile of shoes and start handing skates to Jet.

"I mean like, you really want to go on a date date with me, not just like as friends?"

"I- yes." they swallow and look away, "Jet if you don't want to go that's fine. Just tell me now so I can sort out my feelings in peace."

"What? No no I'm not breaking up with you- I mean I'm not- I'm pastel for you too, Party." It's Jet's turn to look away but Poison drops a skate in their lap to stare at him. "I didn't think you felt any way for me, I mean you're Party 'I insult everyone' Poison, I never thought you'd like someone like-"

"I don't insult every one." They interject with a sigh. "You and Kobra both on top of me over this." They shake their head, Ghoul understood the need to cover everything up and keep things safe with a shell of spite but Kobra and Jet would just zip shut over anything touchy. Well, or punch your lights out if it was Jet.

"Wait a minute, what were you going to say?"

Jet turned  slightly towards them, "I didn't think you'd like someone all well, quiet n' stuff. Man, I come home from work and then just work on my bots whiles you off partying the lights away."

"Pff Star, you think I go to parties to pick up 'joys to date?"

"I mean, yeah?" Jet looks at them confused as he puts on another skate, "Think these fit." he said absent mindedly, still looking intently at Party.

"Star, I go to parties for the music, for the friends, and yeah maybe sometimes to blow off some adrenaline without a raygun, but I-" they stuck out their tongue slightly as they slipped the lace into an eyelet, I don't take people home from parties and I'd never fuck anyone, ever they want to say but instead just mutter, "I don't go to the club for crushes. And besides, I didn't think you liked me. Whyd'ja think I sent The Kid to ask for me."

"Party what do you mean! How could I not be pastel for your smiles and when you wear tank tops while tagging up the radio station, or skirts out to parties, and the way you get all nervous before reading."

"Okay now that's just not fair. You're so cute when you're covered in motor oil and showing me your bots, not to mention how sharp of a shot you are both at darts and dracs. But also you know you make the best milkshakes this side of the radiation pools."

"Stoop now you makin me all melted." Star shoves them and laughs,

"Not before you did!" Party retorts and they dissolve into a fit of laughter.

The following night Party and Jet rode down to the rink. The lights were bright and the pizza was pretty shitty but it was ok. Jet told them about his plans to try to make a drone while Party tied his skates for him. They stepped out on the rink and skated in a small circle then rolled back to the edge where Jet was still standing on the carpet. On other days they would stare at the black and bright colored carpet wanting to look like it but they knew Jet was just scared.

"If you fall, I've got you." They whispered in his ear and he looked up. Poison hadn't seen Star actually scared, not since ray blasts streaked the sky. He stepped onto the rink and diligently kept his feet exactly parallel.

"Here see, you skate like this." Party kicked off and skated a few feet, then turned and slid back to Jet.

"Here goes nothing." Star said and tried to put his feet into a V like theirs. He started to pick up his foot but fell off-balanced onto Party who hit the rink on their wrist guard. Star was mortified but his body was so close, Party reminded themself to breathe. They ran their hand along his arm.

"Hi" they breathed

"I suck at this for real." Jet groaned and then took their hand. Party got onto their feet and pulled Jet up to standing.

They spent most of the night very close to the nice friendly padded wall. Party showed Jet how to get comfortable on his skates and every once in a while left him on the shore of the rink to practice a spin or skating backwards.

"Now you're just showing off." Jet laughed as Party vogued to the song playing.

"C'mon you can at least do this." They insisted and rolled their wrist against their neck. Jet was much better at voguing than skating, shaping his face square and sweeping circles in the air. Party watched with a quiet smile intently trained on Jet, watching him slowly get more confident until the fear from the beginning of the night melted away.

Eventually Jet did manage to skate without holding onto anything, only to realize he didn't know how to stop. Veering towards Party, he pressed them up to the wall. Poison just laughed.

"Can I kiss you Star?" Party asked

"Only if you show me how to stop after." Jet smiled and Party pressed a kiss to his cheek. Jet held onto the wall as Party kicked off into a simple forwards skate.

"Point your toes and bring your legs together." Party half shouts over the music. Jet takes a couple of tries but eventually gets the hang of it. He skates up to Party and stops right in front of them. They hold his hands and he kisses them. Poison flips up to stand on their heel stops and leans into him. When they finish skating Jet's legs are shaking. He thinks it's on account of it being his first time skating. Party can't tell if it's from skating or being on a date with Jet. But really it's all three mixed into a wavering walk home bubbling with laughter and then dying down to quiet murmurs on the wind.

"So, what's your revenge against my innocent little ask?" Party said with their hand on their hips and a sarcastic lilt in their voice.

"You know how little Mr. Tommy Chow Mein's got that one spot on the back shelf that damn no body supposed to touch?"

"Oh noo, what about it."

"Well, I've been peeping this helmet he's got up there, right? And I think it'd be perfect to go with my wheels now that I have some races under my belt as Lucky No. 27 this dinky BLI helmet got nothing on the other guys. I want you, with all that charisma you got packed away in there, to get it in my hands."

"Oh come on Kid, it's TCM! I can't just walk up to our used-to-be-dad and ask him to sell me contra!"

"It's not actually contraband though, red." Jet Star chimes in from where he's listening bemusedly to the venom siblings. "Hand me a hair tie would you Ghoul?" he asks Ghoul, who's patiently getting his hair braided by Jet.

"I got 50 carbons you can use for bartering."

"Oh sure that'll help but it's still the no sells shelf. And TCM isn't pastel for you like Mx. Propulsion here." Ghoul said with a smirk and Jet flicks hair in his face.

"Alright alright, I'll try but no promises alright Kobra."

"What? Just try, that's BS."

"Hey I didn't know if I'd be getting a joyfriend or not out of your favor, I don't know if you'll be off with a helmet or not."

"Fine." Kobra said in a drawn out whine.

Poison grabbed the ring of carbons and Ghoul tossed Jet the keys to the Trans Am.

"You're coming too?" Party asks as Jet leaves with them

"You know I want to see how this plays out." He said with a laugh and Party rolls their eyes.

"Make sure they're putting in effort, I want that helmet next sunrise race!" Kobra called as they left.

"Heyy Tommy C! How's it hanging?" Party said

"It's hanging like a plastic bag in a 'crow's nest- what do you want Party?" Tommy shuts off whatever audio drama he'd been listening to and leaned on the counter looking down at Party.

"Jus' wanna talk, that so bad?" Tommy just rolled his eyes.

"Look are you buying something or just here to make me change the station. I've heard enough of your rants, I'm not turning on the radio my books are just fine."

"So listen, I was just wondering about that helmet you got over there. It's pretty bonus track and a uh, associate of mine was looking into it."

"This is not the helmet you're looking for." TCM said and a wave of calm washed over Party. They were immediately confused, they were never this calm. There was something they needed but it wasn't here. Wait of course it was. Jet wouldn't be standing in the corner watching the whole scene amused if it hadn't been for Kobra. What was it about Kobra? He wanted the helmet right. It took half of Party's effort just to remember this but then he was at it again.

"Where'd you get it anyways?"

"A long time ago. It's very old, your sibling doesn't want it."

"Oh yeah?" That pang hit their thoughts again but they kept going. "Where'd you get it?"

"No where near here, a galaxy far far away, you could say."

"Well look, since you already know it's The Kid who's trying to get his hands on it what do you even have against him?'

"Yeah, Jet pipes up- me and Ghoul were the ones always pulling pranks on you. He didn't do nothing to you."

"Let me do this, it's not your trade." Party said, putting their hand on Jet's chest.

"Fine." Jet sighed and went back to browsing the zine rack.

"The Kobra Kid can't have my helmet, and no one else can either."

"Ok but what if I gave you 50 Cs?" Party asked, stifling the blow to their train of thought.

"Agh! Why don't these work on you rascal?" Tommy threw down his sunglasses in annoyance. "Fine you want to know about this helmet. I got this helmet pod racing until my rival decided to blow out my hyperdrive frequency and led me to crash land by ship on this measly planet. And then what? Jammed radios from a certain somebody meant I couldn't fly anymore. Set up shop instead, an the rest's history.

"But you know what? If it's useless to me, it's just as useless to you and yours." Tommy sighed and took the carabiners of 25 carbons each and slid them onto the rods in his cash register and begrudgingly passed the helmet down to Party.

"Kobra! We're home!"

"Did they get my helmet?" Kobra asks as he runs into the nest.

"Sure did! Diligently and without help from yours truly." Jet reported back and kissed Party quickly on the cheek to the return of a grin on their face.

Kobra ran over and took the helmet from Poison and immediately put it on.

"Uh Party?" He waved his arms around

"Do you like it?"

"Pois, I can't see a thing." Kobra took the helmet back off and examined the front, realizing that not only was GOOD LUCK painted across the entire screen but the inside was also painted black.

"What the-" Party grabbed it from him and put it on, only to find completely darkness and if they crossed their eyes, a bit of shine to the paint.

"Man you get a joyfriend and I get a fuckin useless helmet!? Last time I ask you for a favor!" He pouces onto Poison and they topple onto the couch, wrestling each other until it dissolves into a pillow fight.

Late post cause I jgh from my vacation. Before I start my post, I would like to thank my fellow Tumblr users for answering the question I posted yesterday :) I hope everyone at IS, no everyone in Japan in general, are safe after the landslide that recently occurred, explaining the trailer delay.

Ok starting the post with the first unit shown on the trailer, Freyja. Talk about ultimate bait. Tbh I don’t care about her but that goat plushie cute. He just screams 😑

Speaking of the plushie, it obviously represents Freyr who was next shown on the trailer.

And “OH, NO HE’S HOT” intensifies😳 Huh so he got a seasonal before being a Mythic hero. Color me surprised. I guess it’s cause Freyja is on the banner and there has been a trend that siblings get summer alts (i.e. Corrin and her Nohrian sibs, Laevatein and Laejarn)

HOT damnnn who would’ve thought he was buff under those robes?! It may not be the Summer Hrid I wanted but it’s a good compromise lol. Freyr’s voice be like ASMR. I could fall asleep, maybe have happy dreams, listening to him speak. And that bicep cuffs, is a damn good addition to his art. Really hugs his muscles tight oop👌 Ayt that’s it, I guess I’ll try to summon a lil for Freyr.

Next up, we have another buff dude incoming! Finally, our prayers have been granted! Again, no Hrid or Bruno (since this is a mixed banner) but damnnn Ogma’s art is a fine upgrade to his OG art. Tho there are 2 things I noticed upon Ogma’s reveal. First, he somehow got lighter (in terms of hair and skin color *no intentions of racism here*). Second, his actor has been recasted for some reason. If I’m not mistaken, I think his old VA, Travis Willingham’s last role in FEH was Lon’qu as characters who were voiced by the said VA in their original games like Garon have been recasted, many of which Patrick Seitz took over the role but that’s not the case for S! Ogma. I’m not familiar with his current VA but his voice sounds great! Tho I still wonder why Travis hasn’t had a role in FEH since. He’s one of my fav VAs of all time which is why I made this comment. I hope the case is not like Chris Niosi or Vic Mignogna, considering that he is married to fellow voice actress Laura Bailey. So if anyone knows about Willingham’s absence, feel free to drop some news in the comments. I’m curious.

I haven’t played FE1 and its remakes so I don’t know much about Caeda but this pairing seems odd. Also, thanks to the Harmonic convo vid, I just learned that her name is pronounced as “Ceda or Cda” even, so silent a. Anyway, their weapon is basically like Y! Caeda but with more wall of text hooray. Cue that “Ah shit here we go again” flashbacks from encountering her in Rival domains. Welp, time to bring B! Lysithea to the fray to counter her lol.

One; so, in the review for the last episode, it said "The identity of the mysterious enemy, DarkKnightmon, turns out to be the other Holy Digimon, Tailmon". So was the DarkKnightmon is Gatomon true? Seems like it judging by the preview for next ep

Two; it is so weird and odd seeing a cat howling like a dog, I expect this from Salamon, if we ever see her

But TK and Patamon held onto each other so I guess that counts

Four; Gatomon is like, extra tiny

Five; I love how Gatomon is like "too cute/cuddly for my liking!" And tries to get away from all the hugs (but loves it anyway)

Six; and she starts blushing when she saw her smiling it was so cute.

Seven; gatomon is punching digimon's like togemon, I love it

Eight; we have this huge and graceful MarineAngemon as a hologram and when they meet her in person she is this tiny, 5 inch pixie.

Nine; no one expected that

Ten; uh, they all knew that marineangemon is up above you right? Y'all looking down at the wrong direction while talking to you all

Eleven; i can't get enough of Tailmon and Hikari's relationship right now. We have this cuddly girl and her cat who wants to guard and protect her but isn't use to all the love and cuddles

Twelve; to be fair, Gatomon can't really carry Kari unlike the others, but it's still so cute when she's like "I want to fight too!" And Gatomon like "no, too dangerous"

Thirteen; it's so sweet how Tailmon just plans on protecting Kari and keeping her out of danger (which is something I expected that t Tai and Matt to do with their younger sibs but that didn't happen) and Kari just wants to fight alone side Gatomon, which is something they are doing a lot in this series that the kids fight with their partners, and then she gets her digivice and Gatomon allows her to fight with her

Fourteen; but i do find it interesting hoe Gatomon was calling her since she was like 4, and that also explains why she is looking off into the distance, while TK heard Angemon after the train incident, it sort of shows that she was affected by darkness worse

Fifteen; I thought the other kids will join them, I was proven wrong.

And in the next episode is called "The Glowing Angewomon". You know what that means....

The preview makes me think that Tai and Kari get separated from Sora and TK (I won't be surprised) but we do get some Biyomon and Agumon just having fun with the preview
