Rape, Abuse, Trauma and the Need for Power
This topic has been sneaking around in my brain for days now. Because I find it quite interesting to see this depicted in now multiple franchises. And I really want to talk about it. Partly, because I see some people struggling to understand it. So, let me, an abuse victim, explain.
You see these three characters? Yeah, they actually have a lot in common. Let me explain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Spoilers vor Castlevania, Stray Gods and Baldur's Gate, obviously.
All three of them were victims of abuse and (probably) also rape. It should be noted that with both Carmilla and Persephone it is never outright said that they were raped, but it is heavily implied. With Astarion, obviously, it is outright stated.
More than that, we do know about all three of them that they were also abused. Both Carmilla and Astarion by their respective sires. Persephone by Hades.
And they also have one other thing in common: Their character arc features them trying to get some sort of power. Let me go through with them.
Carmilla was abused by her sire. We do know very little about the details, only that he was very cruel. There is some heavy implication that the abuse involved rape. At some point she killed her sire. Her entire character story is about her trying to get power for herself. First by trying to get control over Dracula's Castle. Then she tries to build her own empire. With her mental health getting worse, she ends up fantasizing about world domination.
Persephone in Stray Gods was kidnapped, raped and abused by Hades. She had everything taken from her during this, until she finally could not take it any longer and killed Hades. But the other gods denied her to take control over the underworld. Her basic conflict stems from her wanting to regain control over the underworld again.
Astarion is of course the odd one out, given we learn a lot more about his abuse. But like the two women, he was abused, raped and tortured. Due to the DnD vampire rules, he had no way of actually fighting back against his sire, with him escaping just through what amounts to sheer luck. When he learns that his sire wanted to sacrifice him (and many others) to gain a lot of power, Astarion wants to finish the ritual for himself, gaining the power.
The outcome of course is different for all three.
Carmilla gets killed, once she goes down the "world domination" thing. While with Persephone and Astarion it depends on player choice. I would argue though, that the happy end for them both is them giving up the power. That is Persephone giving up the throne and Astarion not finishing the ritual.
What is the interesting thing about this... Or, well, interesting might be the wrong world. But it is well written. Because this is very, very realistic for their backstories.
See, both abuse and especially rape are a lot about power. The abuser/rapist takes full control over the victim's body and life. (Which is also why rape rarely has to do with sexual enjoyment, and more with the rapist wanting to assert power.) Or, from the perspective of the survivor: It is all about having the power taken away from them.
This is bad enough if it is something that is a one time occurance. But if the survivor is in the situation for a long time, they experience a prolonged period of powerlessness and fear. The survivor is constantly afraid, constantly in survival mode, constantly trying to just get through it.
In my life I have seen too many bad takes along the lines of: "Rape survivors should stop whining. How bad can one rape be?" And those people do once again not understand: Rape is not about the sex. It is about having control and power over your own body taken away from you. It is about you being turned into a thing to be used by someone else. Which does not even mention the feeling of fear most people experience during a rape, as they do not know what kind of other violence might follow.
And this is something that leads the survivors to even after escaping the abuse, the trauma often leaves them feeling powerless. They might objectively not have less power than they had before the abuse happened, but to the traumatized nervous system it feels like that. And the traumatized brain does not work logically or objectively. All it knows is: The survivor has not enough power to prevent this situation from occuring again. But here is the thing: No amount of power will make them feel like they have enough power, like they can meaningfully protect themselves from further abuse.
This is why Carmilla is escalating so much in season 4 of Castlevania. Because no matter how much control and power she gets, she does not feel like it is enough to protect herself.
This is also why I do feel like the happy end for both Persephone and Astarion is them giving up their symbol of power. Because the thing is, that them gaining the power will just push them along into a spiral of needing more power to keep themselves in a feeling of being safe. Which is why the good ending for them needs to involve them being convinced to basically trust people again. Because that is a path that given enough time can lead to healing. Them gaining the power won't. In terms of their trauma the power they might gain is just a bandaid on an infected wound.
I have seen a lot of people argue that you should let Astarion finish the ritual, because it "is what he wants". But the thing is... it isn't. All he wants is to feel safe. And he thinks if he gains that power, he can feel safe. But he can't. To feel safe he needs to heal.

im stubborn and i like talking here's the reasons i put every character i did in side a into the tourney. I'll do side b later cause i gotta go to bed soon
important first note, quite a few of my decisions were because i was trying to get women in here and it was getting desperate because i had to cut out a lot of women for only being "just some guy" because they were written by a misogynist that made her sit on the sidelines and cheer for the male leads. The Woman Situation Is Always So Fucking Dire.
anyways on to the actual contestants im gonna start with the characters that have been causing the most people to start up shit about them not being just some guy
barry bluejeans (taz balance): 2 submissions, personal bias. i think a lot of people are misunderstanding what this tournament is tbh. this isnt about the "normal" characters, tho normalcy does play a factor in it. this is about dudes who are just some guy. there is a difference. barry is a dnd npc who wears blue jeans in a fantasy world and he loves his wife. yes he is a lich. yes he is involved in the main plot. he's also just chillin. like if the plot didn't happen the way it did barry would be playing sudoku or crosswords. he'd be an average man in a very fantasy world. he is so average and human its funny. he is just some guy
tommy (hlvrai): 1 submission, personal bias. his just some guy energy is so there. he gets a propeller hat that does nothing when all of his crew is getting cool guns and upgrades. his life goal is to go home and take his dog for a walk. he gets a chuck e cheese birthday party. he sounds like he's going to burst into tears at any moment. compared to the rest of the crew, tommy is comedically just some guy
ulala (persona 2): 1 submission, description swayed me. it described the list of characters in persona 2 and ulala was just "your roommate that wanted to go to a party". that's hilarious. also i was getting fucking desperate for women that didn't suck ass as i stated above
apollo (ace attorney): 2 submissions, personal bias, descriptions swayed me. yall the submissions for him were so fucking funny. he's just a lawyer. he just wants to do his job but he lives in the ace attorney universe so everything is fucked all the time. he would've been a normal lawyer if he hadn't met phoenix wright. he's just chillin.
ok now here's every other character
sasha james (tma): 1 submission, friend bias, good description. i asked r if i should put her in because they know tma and they said yes. submission described her as loving to organize and avoided many monsters by being just some guy.
reigen arataka (mp100): 2 submissions. i thought it'd be funny and i was right. he is also just a normal man pretending he's not and he refuses to give up the bit he 100% deserves to be here
joy (underworld office): 1 submission, friend bias. the mc is going through wild ghost related problems and she's just going . hey man. you good??? r's sister submitted her and im not letting her down dude she's awesome
junpei (zero escape): 3 submissions, personal bias. he is literally the only character who has no connection to the larger mystery he's just there because he loves 1 girl. he's PAINFULLY and VITALLY just a dude. i need him
horse (centaurworld): 1 submission. i thought it'd be really funny to include just a horse. her name is horse. thats fucking awesome dude
phone guy (fnaf): 2 submissions. he was the only character from fnaf that got more than 1 submission and there were like 9 fnaf submissions i kinda felt bad tbh. he was also the best example of just some guy out of all the fnaf submissions
gordon freeman (hlvrai): 1 submission. he is a guy playing a video game. he is the straight man to the rest of the crews antics and by god he plays his role well
joshua gillespie (tma): 4 submissions, friend bias, hilarious descriptions. he avoids getting killed because he's so good at following instructions despite him clearly supposed to be dying here. they said don't open the coffin so he didn't. simply don't tuesday
namari (dungeon meshi): 1 submission, personal bias. i like her c: she's pretty level headed compared to like. everyone else in laios's crew. she seems like somebody i could just be friends with and hang out with
shez (fire emblem): 3 submissions, hilarious descriptions. i might try getting into fire emblem because of this. ok so they got murdered in a previous game off screen and now they're the playable character of a new game in a new timeline and they're fucking everything up because they're just supposed to be some guy? thats so fucking funny holy shit i want to know more
henry stickmin (henry stickmin): 1 submission. henry stickmin. like idk i dont feel like i gotta explain this one he's a stickman
stanley (tsp): guaranteed entry
whole (chonny jash): 1 submission, friend bias. tbh i saw him and went oh fuck yeah thats the thing my friends like and then i put him in there. i dont actually know enough about chonny jash to say anything on this but i fully trust the submitter knew what they were doing
larry (pokemon): guaranteed entry
luke carder (inscryption): 1 submission, friend bias, good description. he is just a normal youtuber in the lore of the game. he fucking love card game. good for him man good for him
leorio (hxh): 3 submissions, friend bias, good descriptions. idk a lot about hxh but the descriptions of him compared to the other main characters was pretty convincing
barry the quokka (sonic): guaranteed entry
april o'neil (tmnt): 1 submission, friend bias. absolutely normal girl that just happens to be the one that found the turtles and become their friend
tsuzuru (a3!): 3 submissions, friend bias. descriptions definitely made him feel like a good fit. he's so good at being just some guy i actually thought he was a different character and was shocked when i went to grab images for the tourney and he wasnt the guy i thought he was. which is really funny. like who the fuck is he then. this didn't change my opinion or anything it was just so good
matt (woe.begone): 1 submission. woe.begone fans have ALWAYS been kind to me so they got some mod bias sprinkled in. i dont know what this guys deal is but in the dbtn tourney the guy who got in there had a giant fucking list of things that are happening to him all the time and apparently thats just what woe.begone is like so i believe it when told matt is normal in comparison. everything else is so batshit wild I Just Believe You
gilear (fantasy high): 2 submissions. he seems to be just a dad. wasn't going to get in at first tbh just for personal reasons but i was running out of characters that i felt actually fit the tournament well so ultimately he got in
emmet (lego movie): 4 submissions. honestly with the number of submissions we got, 4 submissions was basically a guaranteed entry. and emmet's whole story is about being just some guy
stahl (fire emblem): 1 submission, hilarious description. fire emblem fans are so funny. what do you mean he can only be perfectly average because everyone else improves/gets worse with him to keep him perfectly average. what the fuck. thats so good
doug (wolf359): 2 entries. i dont know jack shit about wolf359 and honestly the submissions didn't tell me a lot but it was enough to figure he qualifies and i was running out of characters that felt good for the tourney. i trust you wolf359 fans
jack townsend (tales from the gas station): 1 submission, good description. he works at an evil gas station and the description gave me no follow up on what an evil gas station is which is awesome. apparently the horrors are constantly happening and he's just kinda staring at them. he's not paid enough for this
frisk (undertale): guaranteed entry
brian pasternack (yuppie psycho): 1 submission. im gonna be super honest with you here. i dont remember. i know he qualifies but i have 0 thoughts about him. maybe thats a good thing in this tourney. he's an average office worker who has now been tasked with killing The Witch.
trevor (american arcadia): 4 submissions, personal bias, good descriptions. dude i fucking love american arcadia it's so fucking good what a nightmare. he's so normal they were going to kill him for not being entertaining enough

Hades Rewrite
Tumblr media
His personality
Hades is known to be a stubborn and grouchy god. When he's with friends or family, he's a kind and inquisitive man who really enjoys philosophy and thrifting.
Tumblr media
His fashion
He dresses very modern to fit in with the new souls coming into his realm and to ease them into death. He generally wears goth fashion or anything formal looking, most of what he wears is thrifted. His hair is usually long and worn up in a ponytail or bun, when short, he usually has it down.
Tumblr media
His background
He and his brothers (Zeus and Poseidon) come from the titans Kronos and Rhea. He was swallowed by Kronos when he was a wee lad, and is forever (mentally) scarred by it. He later becomes king of the underworld. He has a strained relationship with Zeus and a neutral relationship with Poseidon, he's on decent terms with Hera, and is neutral to Hestia and Demeter.
Tumblr media
Design notes
I wanted him to feel more lax. I also wanted him to be both feminine and masculine to offset what the hell we got in LO. The white streak in his hair is from stress. I also genuinely could not, for the life of me, decide what color his shading should be, so it's inconsistent as balls. His color scheme is primarily his holy colors and blood red. The Hades in the second picture will never be seen again with that hair cut because it's way too close to my dad's hairstyle and I don't want to think about that. Unless the people who love it beg me to keep it, it's never happening again unless I made it plot relevant. Fun tidbit: him and my DnD character share a design!
Tumblr media
What else should you know?
He uses he/him and collects thrifted clothes like a crow with shiny things. He likes pomegranate wine, snowy evenings, and dolmades. Him and Kore are about the same age. His brothers also stressed him out to the point where he got his grey streak.
Thanks for reading!

Hey what is godkiller? I’m curious
oooohhhhhhhhh anon my sweet child OUGH you are in for one HELL of a ride!! (spoilers for ~the first half of ep01 of GODKILLER: last hope, really just introductions) (not to be confused with the original campaign, godkiller: first blood, which i have yet to watch but i don't doubt its quality)
it's a dnd-esque series (show?) published by @transplanarrpg. it's a story that is driven by an overarching narrative of purpose and grief, as well as finding humanity in the supposedly monstrous. It's heavily inspired by Chinese mythology, which is a HUGE plus for me. The main character, Litany (they/them), played by Sea Thomas (also they/them), is the daughter of the Queen of the Underworld, Qi Gu. They were made as a weapon, and they failed in their purpose. The story is about them, their search for their own humanity, coming to terms with their own failures, and finding community and love, both familial and maybe some butch4butch romance? Who knows~?
It deals with a lot of heavy topics, like the emotional impact of child neglect, grief, and a fair amount of death, but there are very detailed individual trigger warnings at the beginning of each episode (and on youtube, idk about other platforms, the timestamps of the beginning and end of each possible trigger are in the description!) It's fully subtitled, including sound effects. In my experience, the subtitles really add to the experience, so i recommend watching with them on! The DM, Connie Chang (they/he/she), does the subtitling themself, so it's true to the intentions of the story.
It's entirely unscripted improv, recorded in-studio and clipped down to hour-long episodes with music and visuals. (yes I had to look up if it was scripted when I first watched it /pos It's SO SMOOTH)
anyway here's the trailer, definitely give it a shot ^^
youtube
and here's a link to the playlist of all the episodes for your convenience!

Lowkey I'd let a girl hurt me physically as long as they listened to my rants about different kinds of dragons and amphitheres are so cool and should be used more, like literally Quetzalcoatl is so fucking cool and just like I never see big old goobers like it in like any works of fiction I watch or play like unless there's alot in books but then again I don't read books really since only times I even buy books is like dnd books or books with cool covers/titles that would look nice on my shelf. I probably should be reading them but it's hard for me to visualize characters that aren't like monsters and stuff and pictures are really cool like if there's a big ass fight where someone is like fighting a drake in a maze and like throws a spear, I wanna know what that spear looks like and seeing it pierce the Drakes rough fearsome scales would be really cool. Spears in general are really cool, although I definitely like halberds more, maybe because I'm sweaty with the Lawbringer in For Honor but i only know like one true combo which sometimes is a 0-death. I think it's the only 0-death combo I know since I've never bothered to learn any since it just seems like a hassel plus knowing me I'd probably forget half the inputs and put in some other shit that ends the combo too early. Kinda like how I play Sin in Guilty Gear Strive, I really just be hitting buttons i think I remember to hit, his ults are so fucking cool tho, same with Giovanna and Bridget's even tho Bridget's ults are just yoyo combo and flaming bear on a motorcycle attack. God that games so cool, I think it's cooler than Fighterz, altho Xenoverse 2 definitely has it beat as I love fighting games where I can make my own character, since being able to make a moveset out of dozens of moves is awesome, really let's the creativity flow, same with Lego Worlds tho, literally being able to spawn in hundreds of Lego buildings on like the moon, a Christmas town, or just some forest is really fun and I do wish more Lego games did that. I guess that's part of why Fortnite Creative is really fun, just being able to spawn buildings from like tilted towers and the underworld is pretty cool. Okay I'm done now

Putting the actual piece under a readmore just in case 🫤
My DnD character died today for the first time—a setting-specific spell instantly beheaded him after he met one of the conditions of the spell by attacking its caster. Thankfully our Druid was able to Revivify him straight after (and the DM handwaved the clause about Revivify not reattaching body parts.) So truly he was only dead for like 10 seconds. In a fantasy world where death can essentially be reversed for the price of 300 GP, I have to wonder what death truly feels like.
The instant he fell, his soulbonded dragon companion would have felt a great howling vortex at the loss of him, even though she was just recently hatched. His best friends would have had to watch his head fly through the air and skid to a stop on the rough stone of the throne room, his blood spattering onto them from feet away. The druid would have had to scoop it up and hold it in her hands, his eyes still open and staring at his last enemy, as she resurrected his body.
Did his soul have time to travel to the Underworld? Did he see the leering face of Lutheria, dark goddess of death and nightmares, before he was yanked backwards towards the light?
It’s still horrific despite the fact that it was basically undone in an instant.

💧, 🫧, 🌸!
💧Is there a ship you wouldn’t write yourself, but love reading?
Almost any rarepair with Gortash. I've read him with Gale, Wyll, Minthara, Ketheric, Bane - the bastard's power dynamics are delicious and he brings out the best and worst in people. Also shout out to Shar/Shadowheart, Cazador/Astarion, and other high-power-disparity catharsis-filled pairs.
🫧If you were to write a BG3 AU, what universe would you pick?
Current era, maybe a few years in the future. Social Media as the Tadpole perhaps, or an artificial parasite? Zefira fits as a disguised-self-as-male defrocked Jesuit priest, I think.
🌸Rec one of your fics and tell us what you like about it!
(I would like to be clear that I went to random.org and had it choose from 1-13, and it said 7.)
A Cleric Halfling (least played race and class combo!) main character with nuanced morality, a layered backstory, and who engages in sincere, messy non-monogamy
Humor in conversations, from puns to jokes to Enver Gortash deadpan snarking at the Morninglord Lathander himself
A serious, nuanced look at how an ascension-chasing Astarion would be in a relationship
A Tavtash pairing that makes sense with the underlying character motivations while still respecting a historical (and future) Durgetash pairing
Melting hot smut in multiple pairings and scenarios that fit into the story as a whole
A full chapter dedicated to the Temple of Bhaal and the emotional Descent to the Underworld experience of a Reject-intending Dark Urge
An ending where we don't have to choose between the Emperor and Orpheus!
Roah Moonglow enjoying milk tea. Yes, that's an entire bullet point on its own. Y'all don't give enough love to her
Lots of DnD lore shout-outs, from the MC's deity to Barovian implications to reminding everyone that their favorite new-beginnings god has a cataclysm named for him
Look. I know I talk up A Little Wicked a lot, and that's because it deserves it. It's a long fic (57k) in 11 easy-to-split-up chapters, it's an act 3 rewrite with new spins on many in-game events (let's just blow a hole in the Szarr Palace lmao,) and it's written by someone who genuinely likes and understands the characters they write about. It was my first novel-length fic, and anyone who drops in my DMs about it raves about how emotionally invested they become, how true the characters are to the game, how this little fellow Zefira Shadebrook is someone they come to love! I know, maybe people are like "ew, a halfling having sex" - but give me a chance, please! If you love Durgetash, if you love the bastard Enver Gortash, if you can just try one Tavtash story (that ends in Durgetash!) and give me a chance to impress you, please try reading A Little Wicked. I promise you it will be worth your time.

Back with another dnd character from dreaming of death :3
This time Techno's, Pax!
Tumblr media
Did I make them a harengon because of osmp Techno? Oh definitely. But I do think that Techno would play an harengon, it seems like his style
This was my first time drawing any kind of bunny looking character so I hope I did ok 😅
Anyway yeah, Techno's actually really invested in the game, he's also pretty good at rp! He's around people he knows he can trust so he's less awkward because he knows the won't judge him
(long ramble of Pax's lore and how the party forms under the cut)
At the beginning of the campaign Pax is in a position somewhat similar to Techno himself, being that they live in the woods with a bunch of animals.
The thing that actually prompts them to become a proper adventurer is that an displacer beast kitten he had taken in after finding it alone and injured was confiscated(stolen) by a religious research institution (cult, it's a cult, it just doesn't want admit it's a cult)
And uh Pax wasn't particularly down for that shit. So, obvious answer is kitten heist. This becomes a problem because Pax does not have the skills for that, or like... connections. They're a hermit and don't talk to like... Anyone generally. He is friends with a druid named Astra though (Astra is Wren's character btw). And she's more connected.
That's how they meet Juli and Niki's character Nyx(who is an arcane trickster rogue).
Juli actually has a connection to the cult because she was hired by them to do alchemy and stuff, but after hearing about the kittennaping and also about various other crimes committed (a lot of them stealing creatures or knowledge, with some people trafficking on the side) through Nyx (who has a large network of other thieves, assassin and various other criminal underworld stuff) she nopes all the way out of that job.
Anyway yeah... that's how the party starts to form. But back to more Pax specific stuff!
Pax is probably the second most responsible person in the party after Astra. And they both sort of accidentally become the parent figures of the group. Everyone else is chaos incarnate(Juli, Nyx, Clyde(Phil's character, joins the party with Juli because he's an old family friend of hers and has been traveling around with her)) or trauma town(Moon, Coal(Ranboo's character, they're and escaped experiment from the cult, she joins not too long after the party's formation)).
Pax definitely just wanted to get his cat back but realized they needed to destroy a cult and got attached to the dumbasses they're doing so with
Also, Pax didn't mention to the party that the cat he was rescuing was a displacer beast, they always just refered to her as his cat by her name, "Erebus" or more commonly than her full name by her nickname "Ere"
I think that's about all I can think of off the top of my head but feel free to send asks about anything about this au dnd or otherwise :D

hey, i’m riley rethal!
i’m a pharmacy student who enjoys ttrpg design and fanfic writing. currently my main interests are casablanca (1942), andor & ace attorney, with the mainstays of friends at the table, greek mythology, and Learning About Stuff always in the background.
my main social media is twitter, and i plan to stay on it as long as it’s viable, but i’m back on tumblr now too!
my ao3 is rib14, and i’ve written:
court record companion (5.9k, T) a collection of tweets, texts, posts, and articles surrounding the first 4 aa games
when the chips are down (28.5k, T) my narumitsu magnum opus; a canon-divergent story of disbarment
the ones who deal the cards (2.1k, G) trucy & kristoph have a totally normal conversation in the basement of the borscht bowl club
yours forever (14.3k, T) the life and loves of thalassa gramarye, told in letters and memories
history lesson (1.7k, G) a conversation between mon mothma and 14 year old leia organa, set during andor s1
a few more ideas (8.4k, T) a canon-divergent andor fic where a certain character survives and fake dates another character and also i can’t help but be a sucker for mon/tay
the tree remembers (4.4k, T) leia organa in the aftermath of the destruction of alderaan, reflecting and moving forward
also a bunch of jaceaddax one-shots for the fatt fans out there, but i’m assuming u all already know me lmao
i’m currently publishing what the future brings, a post-canon casablanca fic, and it would mean the world if u checked it out! victor/ilsa/rick is so important.
my ttrpgs can be found at metagame.itch.io, and here’s a few of my faves:
galactic 2e: a game of rebellion, relationships, and war among the stars (what if star wars was good?!)
venture & dungeon: two games with a new perspective on the high fantasy genre (i wrote venture, which is like, what if dnd was good, dungeon is by jay dragon of wanderhome fame)
doikayt: a jewish ttrpg anthology i co-organized! it’s a got a bunch of jewish themed games by jewish ttrpg designers
the riot starts: a gmless game about a revolution in the literal capitalist hell of the underworld, inspired by hadestown
it’s been a long, long time: a two-player ttrpg about characters who are in love, are separated, and finally reunite
i haven’t done a ton of game design in the past year, but my main current wips are an untitled resistance system game inspired by fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood, and a game of card-based mini-games inspired by les mis called “music of a people”
so yeah, that’s me! i haven’t spent a lot of time on tumblr since 2015, so this will be an interesting experience. looking forward to posting with you all.

Day 1 of trying to get you invested in my original book "Bound By Name" by posting short character intros!
William White, an albino ("What- Oh! No. No that's not how it works. My name's just a coincidence," ~Quote from the book) human-turned-satyr who somehow managed to worm his way into the heart of the most powerful fae there is! Now, faced with being the "new guy" in the fae Underworld, he'll have to struggle his way through whatever might be thrown at him.
Random notes: He's the ace/greyaro rep of this book, likes axes, is very spite fueled and was directly inspired by a dnd pc of mine!

Thought I’d make a little post about
DND Characters I Made That Nobody Asked For!
(Disclaimer: All these drawings were from like 2 years ago and may exclude minute design changes and the improvement of my personal art skills to the present)
Tumblr media
Jimathem (They/Them)
Barbarian Dragonborn
Their name was meant to be a silly run-off of the first character I never used, Jonathan the Half-Orc (You won’t be seeing anything about him until I stop loathing his creation). They belong to a campaign set in the underworld due to their unfortunate demise.
In life, Jim was a respected individual to their townspeople but a threat to the town govern officials. One day, Jim was lured into the woods and deprived of life by their own horn. From the window of the soul to their brain, death would have been swift if only their killers hadn’t driven the oxblood colored hook up in serial propulsions. Now, Jim walks with a borrowed name and only fragments of their death left in their memory.
Tumblr media
Charmy Langin (She/Her)
Sorcerer Haregon
Charm “Charmy” Langin is a less developed but cherished character of mine. She was intended for a friend’s campaign that never started, but I just couldn’t let go of her.
Some may have considered Charmy’s home life comfortable with her parents and little sister. However Charmy was a great appreciator of the arts, and wanted to travel to experience all that the world’s cultivations had to offer. Her love for artistry indirectly contributed to her fascination with the unseen, the unknown. In other words, mouth structures. You bet she’s getting into those molars, or gums, or whatever is in a bullywug’s mouth, and taking notes. Nature and all its mysteries, right?

My DND characters!
•Maravain •Bard Tiefling
The village she was born in was convinced she was a god. They isolated her from the outside world and kept her extremely sheltered. She had been secretly been practicing bars magic. She had tried and failed to escape multiple times, but one day, when she’s 19, she manages to escape and ran without looking back. Now the guards of her old village are out looking for her, convinced an ‘evil spirit’ corrupted her and that’s why she ran.
•Lox •Paladin Changeling
Changelings are thought of as evil liars and not to be trusted. So when she managed to become a Paladin within the royal court, the public were shocked. Her main goal was to clear the name of Changelings and perhaps show that they really aren’t an ‘evil’ species. But, one day when she went out to try to catch a thief, there’s was a misunderstanding and now everyone thinks her and the thief are working together and everyone has turned their backs on Lox, losing all their trust in her immediately.
•Titania
• Rogue Fairy
A wanted criminal who was banished from her town for having been in a secret relationship with the prince. Now she’s out in a new Kingdom making a new name for herself. Since her lover threw her to the curb once their relationship broke out, now she hates all royals and everyone within the royal court. But, being a fairy, she’s not very respected within the criminal underworld. But one day, she accidentally gets tangled up with a Paladin of the royal court. Now the two have to work together so they can both go back to their original lives (Lox has sworn she won’t arrest Titania if she helps her out)

So I was making myself push though a bad mood - and made another paper doll mess. Oops. This one is Halla - my old DnD character turned BG3 protag. She is a Bard (not that kind) turned con artist. She was on the run from some old Guild mess back where she's from. (She was trying to restart with less drama and less underworld politics in Baldur's Gate and got tadpoled).
Generally when she's not stuck with a psychic link to people, she hides behind several identities and wigs. (Think Moist von Lipwig with tits.) She spent most of BG3 convincing people she totally worked here, and was raised too well to possibly murder anyone. (She saved the city but fumbled a lot of small details cause even when shes at her best she's a ditz.) She ended up accidentally in a relationship with Astarion, she's still confused how that happened. Halla's wardrobe is very far from done. I've gotten a few sketches for some more of her stuff. So I'm sorry. There will probably be more.
