So, yeah!
We're much further in the campaign at the moment, but this is where the first "chapter" of our adventure ended. The second chapter's recap will be up as soon as I get it done!! We've now just started playing the third chapter and oh boy it's so good already ,_____,

The story & the world are for a big part based on the first fantasy world we made together with Rat in like 2010, but they've now revised it and made a lot of amazing changes to it so it's all new to me now too, with still the nostalgy for our old characters and getting to know them all anew <3

Out of curiosity, do you think your Gemini fan kids could exist in the shows canon universe? Marsh and Lake are seriously so adorable I’ve low key accepted as Donnie’s kids in the shows future canon. Also how does the krang apocalypse play out in the Gemini AU? Is it prevented or is there maybe Gemini bad timeline?
Gosh, I dunno-- I guess I don't see why not! :3c I hadn't ever thought about it too much, but there really isn't a ton of reason that they couldn't, assuming Donnie and Sorrel still meet!
Also, there are Kraang in the Gemiverse! I haven't exactly sorted out all the details yet, but what I do know is that there's no good future/bad future... there's just one timeline! The Kraang do invade and Gems and Co. do kick it in the Apocalyptic Warzone for a while... but the whole fam survives and they do eventually win the war!!! (because anything else made me too sad ; w ; and I realized at some point that it's my au so i can just do whatever I want :D yay)
#i hemmed and hawwed on it for a while and considered just like#not touching the kraang at all#but gosh the whole Apocalypse thing comes with so many fun story elements and possibilities...#but thinking about the family losing each other and falling apart made me very sad#i dont like family death in my stories v much unless in very specific context (like my grief comic series) coz#it just... makes me very ; _ ; and stresses me out#but then i realized like. oh wait i could just... take out the part i dont like if i want. and keep the bits i do. theres nothing stoppin m#for the record marsh and lake are fully apocalypse babies#kame is not because leo isnt willing to have a warzone child and then the second the fucking war is over hes like#[grabs usagi] I WANT A BABY TOO ; _ ;#usagi: ... like... right now?#leo: i love you SO much... :') dont say stupid things like that to me rn or i s2g--#asks#anon#gemini au asks#gemini asks

friggin' fic dropped fully formed into my sleeping brain night before last. early christmas present from the story elves. rancher duo au with both gaslamp and cyberpunk elements. jimmy has magic (everyone does, a little. he's a house cleaner) and about 134 siblings (grian and pearl are two of them. also impulse). tango is a fae and a necromancer hunter and jimmy doesn't know his bestie's not actually human. not because it's a big secret but just because tango thinks it's hilarious to mess with jimmy's little magics and then be all like O.O wow i wonder how that happened. i have approximately 1/8 of a plot but a lot of vibes.
#i literally dreamed this whole story in glorious detail it was so good#redwintertalks#it's one am i need to sleep i'm so tired#the human world is gaslamp and everyone has a little bit of magic#jimmy uses his and elbow grease to clean houses and sometimes break smallish curses#because he's got an unusual resistance to them#think oliver twist or sherlock holmes vibes with just a dash of magic#then the fae realm -- which isn't secret or anything you just have to have a passport that allows you to step over -- is all cyberpunk#towering neon skyscrapers and hovercars and bright colors and dark skies and shadowy alleys#and EVERYTHING is magic#i need a name for this au gotta think on that#but first. sleep. oh my gosh sleep.

more regular crafting updates should resume soon! My birthday always stresses me out, but I made it past my birthday without getting into any huge fights with my siblings, so I have more spoons to dedicate to crafting again
#the person behind the yarn#100% of the reason they stress me out is the potential for fighting my siblings#not physically. partially because we are not in the same location partially because theyall know I have way more training than they do#and would not hesitate to end a physical fight if one started#but oh my gosh. SEVERAL of my birthdays have ended in MAJOR family drama#my last two birthdays actually spent with my whole family#in one of them I was very very sick and had to use a walker to participate in an escape room (it was a joint birthday party)#and spent most of the day just sitting on the walker while everyone else did the escape room#and the other I walked out of my own party#because (long story short) I almost got knocked headfirst onto concrete by a giant circus ball#because my siblings and cousins were (not a joke) doing drunken circus acts in the yard#I get along with most of my siblings individually and some of them in pairs but all together we just do not mix#but yeah anyway: crafting! I made it past the stress hurdle of my birthday#and just got a promotion at work! :D

gosh I’m a LITTLE heartbroken
#YES! I skipped 90% of the season after watching part of the first episode so I could see the finale#and yes!! I’m confused!!!#and YES!!! I really REALLY wish they’d kept the title Darkling because the INTIMACY of Alina saying his name while he dies at her hand is so#I NEED SOULMATES WHOSE CIRCUMSTANCES AND ACTIONS MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO EVER BE TOGTWHR OKAY!!!!! I NEED THAT!!!! and instead…oh boy.#why did they condense two books in one???? why???#also I wish they’d kept the slow burn of their power dynamic. like aleksander has the power all the way through the second book until the#climax. and then through the third book you see aleksander is growing more and more desperate and Alina is more and more resolved it’s so go#I don’t even know if I’ll watch the whole season I might just reread the books#i know seige and storm had some pacing issues but it’s my favorite because there’s so much depth to Alina#also idk just from the few scenes I’ve watched the strange intimacy between Alina and the Darkling isn’t really present in the series#or if it is it’s very one sided#also I love that there are some very minor elements that tell us Alina isn’t 100% reliable as a narrator and I LOVE the sorts of possibiliti#that opens up. (see: the scene where someone is spoon feeding Alina and it’s implied to be the Darkling)#Alina assumes that any and all intimacy was manipulation and because she’s the narrator thts the way the story is told. but there r MOMENTS#and I LOVE THE NUANCE#this series seems to not have that :/ which is…okay…but not my sort of thing#oh my word kf you didn’t know I’ve written two fanfics for these two and in neither do they end up together#me when complex characters are complex!!!!#me when I’m able to explore details of the characterization liel the rabid little animal I am!!!!#GOSH I THINK IM RE-ENTERING I HYPERFIXATION!!! YAY!!!!!

◌ sleepovers with this man in one word? chaotic.
◌ but it’s that fun kind of chaotic — though the sleepovers usually start off pretty tame at first, him being all giggly and excited when you arrive, immediately grabbing your bags as both head to his room, catching up with each others lives while he helps you unload your stuff.
◌ with that being said, you two would end up gossiping for what feels like hours. though he grew up with all brothers, he definitely got his interest in gossip from eavesdropping on his mom and her friends.
“wait, so he’s dating her and her sister?” chris looks at you with a surprised expression. his elbows are propped up on each side of his pillow as his nintendo switch remains in the middle, paused on some sort of mario level.
“yes, but get this,” you grab your iced tea from his nightstand and scoot closer towards him. “he’s also dating her best friend. the dude is totally sleeze but hey, are we surprised?”
◌ taking pictures for your insta photo dumps.
◌ baking together! a little tradition you two decided to make after the first few sleepovers. he always make sure to pick up baking mix and other crucial ingredients two days beforehand.
◌ even though it always ends up a disaster…
“fuck fuck fuck!” chris shouts as you both race down the hallway, clothes halfway falling off your bodies from the fun that was had not too long ago. you quickly grab a kitchen towel and start fanning the smoke detector before it goes off as chris opens the oven, a thick cloud of whispy gray smoke escaping from the center.
“what the hell are you two doing in here?” nick questions as he and matt waltz into the kitchen from the living room.
“yeah, and why do your clothes look like th…” matt chimes in, face soon flushing red as the realization hits him. “forget it.”
◌ take out is usually ordered after you two nearly burn the apartment complex down, followed up by some tv or a movie.
◌ and of course, he yaps through the whole thing. you do too, which leads to neither one of you paying attention to what’s actually going on in the episode or scene.
“i don’t remember this happening,” you mumble as you lay back against of one chris’s pillows. “isn’t he from euphoria?”
◌ video games video games video games. every time you come over, this man would swear up and down that he’ll “smoke your ass” in mario kart — but does he actually? nope!
◌ he’s actually the biggest sore loser on the planet.
◌ pulling pranks on matt, you and chris know better than to mess with nick after a certain hour while matt is a little more tame. one time, while you two were in the middle of prank calling him, chris accidentally blew his cover after sneezing mid convo.
◌ doing your night routine together; skin care, hair care, etc.
◌ and if you’re the type of girl to sleep with an emotional support / childhood stuffed animal and accidentally leave it behind, he’ll snatch one of matt’s stuffed animals out his room and hand to you.
“i know it’s not the same as yours but look, it’s still cute and cuddly right? like those squishy-marshmallowy things?”
◌ matt tiptoeing into chris’s room in the middle of the night to rightfully take back his animal-shaped belonging.
◌ lowkey? nick taking off guard pictures and videos of you two being idiots and posting them on his snap and insta stories.
◌ cuddles galore. kid is actually such a snuggle bunny like oh my gosh? always cuddled up into you no matter what — especially when he’s feeling sleepy. the Baby Boy energy would be at an all time high. you’d be yapping away about some sort of friend group drama, pausing mid story when you hear him lightly snoring with his head against your chest.
“…and that’s when i told her that she should just go with the guy she was talking to before. i don’t get it, but see if i was—are…you sleeping?”
“…huh…”
