i'm making this as a response to the posts i've seen floating around on my dash that are promoting neutrality, and, most annoyingly, whining about the backlash he's receiving.

no, this is not directed at any particular blog. yes, i am biased, and i'm not going to pretend that i'm not. and finally no, i’m not posting this to seem virtuous or some shit like that. glad we got that cleared up.

it's always #freepalestinetillit'sbackwards until your favorite british blorbo is questioned. questioned, rightfully so, mind you.

let's go over the facts:

this was posted by twitter user knsiara yesterday morning. apparently, people are also getting on taz about who he follows on social media, but that's none of my concern. i'm aware it takes effort to cull and monitor the values of those you follow. i don't hold that against him. moving on.

the real concern is the charity that he was directly promoting. as in, the charity that he's presumably donated to and encouraged his 1.9 million followers to donate to as well, seeing as it was linked right there in his instagram bio.

so! there is a bit of confusion about who the red cross supports. i've done some basic googling, and yeah it's pretty vague, so i do understand the confusion. it seems the red cross provides aid to both sides, which has already put me off (in no circumstance would i provide aid to the country enacting a genocide. because remember, it's less-so a conflict and more-so a genocide.) but that's beside the point. as you'll note in the right-most screenshot up above, it's the fundraising for the british red cross (BRC), in particular, that has raised some eyebrows.

so who does the BRC support, then?

there we have it. taken right from their site. i've even taken the liberty to highlight it for you: as it stands, the british red cross provides aid to "israel and occupied palestinian territory.”

what does that mean? well, i'm glad you asked. this leads to my next segment...

the assumptions:

does the BRC support palestine? no.

do they support israel? well, you read their words. it's not the clearest statement in the world, but it's to my understanding that the BRC supports israel, as it clearly subscribes to the zionist sentiment that palestinian land belongs to israel. hence, palestinian occupied territory. zionist rhetoric. now, that doesn't sound like an organization that has the people of palestine's best interests in mind, does it?

now, since i don't follow him, i don't have the timeline of things, such as when he added the BRC to his bio, or when people started asking him about it, but, i mean. the BRC was in his bio, now it's not. he posted the tweet two days ago, and has since deleted it. maybe it's bad timing, but, i'm not inclined to believe it is.

which leads me to my point that i'm highly suspicious of the taz-riders right now...

especially the ones outright complaining about him getting "canceled" and whatnot.

people use the word “cancel” so loosely now. it’s pretty much lost all meaning. choosing not to support taz skyler for his abysmal political opinions does not equate to him getting “canceled.”

dissing him on twitter does not equate to him getting “canceled.” girl no one is taking his netflix check away—he’s got a bag, he’s got a second season, he’s got his loyal stans: he‘ll come back from this. and honestly, throwing the term “cancel” around is ridiculous when we’re talking about matters like palestinian genocide.

yes, taz might have worded his response poorly under stress. but doesn't it still hold implications? what else can we assume if his response to people accusing him of promoting and funding israel is... we have different opinions, and that's okay 🤍

as for support of the OPLA, that is, obviously, up to you. i, for one, won't be streaming it on netflix anytime soon. but, there are some actors in the OPLA who do support palestine, such as morgan davies, who publicly shot down the losers trying to angle that palestine is anti lgbtq+ and therefore does not deserve support (as if intersectionality and queer palestinians don't exist, lord) ...so, this is a nuanced convo and i may change my mind when season 2 rolls around if i feel the pros outweigh the cons. or i'll just follow morgan davies into their next project. whichever feels right.

what i won't do, however, is make this site comfortable for the taz-riders lmaoo, because there were a few too many posts advocating for him than i’m comfortable with from my fellow fans of one piece. one piece, of all fandoms, and we’re divided on the morals and ethics of supporting genocide—good lord— nor will i support anyone else on the OPLA cast who has a terrible take on what’s taking place in palestine. repeat after me, there's no such thing as neutrality when it comes to genocide.

technique 1. gold miners

you see a cool fun text post on your dash that has less than 5000 notes; you go in the tags and scroll to the very beginning of reblog chains; there you will find the people who somehow always find the best freshly birthed text posts; choose the people who tagged it as some variation of "#text post", "#txt" or they tagged it as "#x-character-core/coded" or even better, they tagged it as their oc - go to their blog and look through that tag, usually you will find a treasure mine of text posts; if all the posts you immediately see are well known and you saw them all over your dash already, then go back and start diving on the next person's blog through the tags and keep doing it until you are out of tagger rebloggers; when you find good text posts you gotta screenshot them (try to think ahead - maybe there is a show coming out in the near future that will fit this text post)

visual example: i always have various non-popular text posts in my queue that i will dive in later when i have the time. like these

technique 2. oc and character tags again

you find a post that perfectly fits your blorbos but it has much more than 5000 notes so it's impossible to check all the rebloggers - that's fine, once again go in the notes for blog diving; start from the top and find specifically someone who tagged this post as their oc or their favourite character - that's your new source; go through the tag and it will certainly have text posts/tweets that fit your blorbo as well

visual example: i found this post for Pete and his poor burnt balls, one day i'm gonna go through it to see other people's blorbos who have suffered in a similar way, and i'm sure there will be lots of petecore stuff on their blogs

technique 3. porn blogs are your best friend when it comes to mature tv shows

find one, just one, good funny very sexual text post and go in the tags for to see which mature bloggers reblogged it using a tagging system; it can be them categorising it as "#text post" or similar, it can be them sorting posts by kink so pay attention to tags like "#petplay" "#collars" and etc, you will be able to find lots of funny sexy posts the deeper you search through their tags

visual example: see, this post has only 1500 notes, so when i will go in the tags of it i will find approximately 10-15 people who tagged it well enough for me to scroll through their tagged reblogs and find other good stuff

technique 4. when you are done with any of techniques explained above, choose best blogs to follow

while you dive in random tumblr users' blogs you will for sure stumble upon blogs that reblog amazing rare text posts; follow them and see what other gems they can bring to your dash in the future

other tips for people who make text post memes

- THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE! make sure the text screenshot that you placed on a picture/gif is large enough to be readable both on mobile and on web. check it on every gadget. i have really bad vision and squinting my eyes at the phone makes my head hurt, so i never look at memes that i can't read right away without zooming in. make them easily readable!!

- choose one style of screenshots of the text posts. it can be web screenshots, it can be mobile browser tumblr screenshots, if can be tumblr app screenshots. choose one and stick to it always, it will make your memes look neat. i always make screenshots of text posts on the tumblr app, then i put them all on a 750 pixel wide canvas, scale them down to 360 pixel width and copy paste them to 540 pixel wide pictures of blorbos. so we get something like this:

Now for the TL:DR; anyone can use the embed function and post your content to sites outside of tumblr, just the same as if I embed a tiktok, tweet, IG post, or even that tech article I used for this ask on here.

You still own and have the copyright on that but they (anyone) can still display your painting in their museum without your permission, so long as the content is still hosted by tumblr.

The way to stop that, I can't 100% say never tried it, setting your blog to private would do it for sure, but going into your settings and having it so your account is only viewable from the dash may do it, I don't know. It blocks the viewers so I'd guess that they can't embed from the account that has their setting there, but other account no clue.

Ok so to start you need to understand that GH Soap Twitter has been at war with Michael Easton's very existence for years now. First it was that he came over from OLTL....then it was because they kept changing his character...then they liked Finn but then they turned on him when his character dumped Anna Devane for basically making it possible for Peter August to almost kill his younger brother Chase. And when the show killed off the character of Franco...but kept Roger Howarth and cast him as the BORING Austin Gatlin-Holt...somehow they decided that Michael Easton was behind that. (When Roger himself has said an exec at ABC HATED the character of Franco and basically forced GH to kill off the character.) and they are convinced that Beckyy Herbst hates him and their on screen pairing when she's never said anythign of the sort and he does nothing but praise her.

So yesterday in the run up to Steve Burton's return...a tweet crossed my dash that was "Say what you want about Steve but he has fans FIGHTING over which female should be paired with him unlike some other so called leading men" which a totaly dig at Michael which they think they are sooo clever with. (They also call his character Finn "Red Flag" constantly for the unforgivable sin of being concerned that Liz was having a mental health breakdown and contacted her SISTER about this.) So I quote tweeted it and said "It's because they get air time." (Which you know true)

So my friend Mala responded to me that she bet if/when Liz's story becomes ALL about Jason and she gets no POV they won't be calling Red Flag all day and they'll be totally cool with it. I posted the Kermit sipping tea gif to show agreement and went on my day.

Last night Mala tweets that she responded to ONE GH tweet today (Mine...she didn't name but it was me) and stan twitter had been dive bombing her mentions all day. And I pointed out that I....the person she was responding to...who made an equally snarky point about the whole thing...had gotten NOTHING all day...which means by the laws of Twitter...they had to be taking ME off the mention to just tweet her. So I pointed out that they KNEW they were wrong for that.

Well not two minutes after I pointed that out SUDDENLY I start getting responses to a tweet I had sent over 10 hours before...and SUDDENLY in the screenshots they were using to try to rile the masses MY orignial tweet she was responding to was there....

Twitch Crush

"Hey chat, today's a chatting day, which means you can ask me questions and I'll answer them," Yn said as she sat in front of their pc. 'Who's your twitch crush?' said the stream's voice shortly after. 'I adore you and your streams as well!' After the stream, Yn shifted in her chair because a lot of the chat was about Karl, which made her feel embarrassed. What if Karl saw it? What if he dm'd Yn? Yn's phone rang with a notification.

She opened it and saw that it was from their twitch instagram, so she looked at it. 'Karl Jacobs has requested to message you,' it said. Yn's heart pounded against their chest as she read the message, 'hey you're y/u/m right, I saw your stream today!'  

'Oh my God, no!' Yn accepted it with trembling hands and typed out a reply: 'This is them, and oh you did?’ Yn didn't realise it, but his heart fluttered as soon as that message arrived at his end. He looked over to his friend Sapnap and gave him the biggest puppy dog eyes before whining, "Sap, help me tell me how do reply." 

His friend laughed before taking the taller's phone and typing out a message before throwing it back at Karl. 'yes, I did...do you really think im cute,' Karl smiled as he read it before turning to face Sapnap, who was now on the phone with Dream. Karl dashed inside his room, his fluffy hair bouncing with each step, slammed the door, and leapt into bed, staring at his phone, waiting for Yn's response.

'So you saw that and yeah yeah I do you're really adorable Mr. Jacobs,' he wiggled his shoulders as the message from Yn popped up. It was simple yet let his heart fly higher than any bird could. He moved onto his back and immediately typed another reply, 'you're cute too,' he said. He sent it, then jumped up, leaving his phone on his messy bed. As he stood in the corner, his phone dinged twice, compelling him to peek before hastily answering Quackity and opening Yn's message.

'But I'm faceless, unless *checks windows*.' 'It's cool, I'm under the bed /j for legal reasons,' he replied, Yn blushing and giggling 'hey Karl, weird question but you up for a call?' Karl looked at the time and thought he had enough time to call before he had to meet up with Jimmy and the crew. 

Yn quickly fixed their hair, pressed the call button, and sat just outside of view. "Hello?" the brown-haired boy asked "Hello Mr.Karl Jacobs!" Yn said as she stuck her head into the frame of their phone. "I was right," Karl whispered, not even realising it. "About what?" Yn questioned, their e/c eyes wide with wonder and confusion as they looked at the man. 

Karl reddened, and Yn felt the sudden impulse to screenshot it, so they did. "WAIT DID YOU JUST SCREENSHOT ME?" Karl's phone shook as if he was walking, and Yn shrugged "Sapnap tell Yn delete the screenshot they took of me," Yn chuckled, rolling her eyes. "Yn screenshotted your guys' dms?  I know you're terrible at talking to girls, but Karl, I didn't realise you were that bad."

"SAPNAP SHUT UP -hmpf we're on call moron," Karl yelled, stamping his foot and huffing to blow the bangs out of his eyes, which appeared to Sapnap to be a little brighter. "Right now?" Sapnap asked, his gaze falling on Karl's phone, which was pressed against his chest, making Karl nod. "Can they hear me?" Sapnap asked again Karl drew back and stared at the screen. Yn smiled and nodded at him. 

"Send it to me, Yn, and tweet it" On their monitor, Yn opened Twitter and posted the photo she had sent to both themselves and Sapnap, with the description 'Karl Jacobs is really a blushing simp'. Both Karl and Sapnap were tagged by Yn. '@KarlJacobs_ requested to follow you,' '@sapnap requested to follow you.'

--6 months later--

Yn sat for hours on the plane, but it was well worth it. Jimmy had sent her an instagram message not long ago, asking her to come down to surprise Karl for his birthday, and Yn couldn't stop their heart from racing as they gazed down at the gift box in their lap and the plane descending to the runway.

She got out and Chris followed, and Yn smiled at him as a thank you before they made their way into Karl's house, where Jimmy stood by the door, opening it for them and hiding Yn in his room. Yn sat in his streaming chair, her facing to the monitor the gift sat in their lap.

Yn couldn't help but nod off after their lengthy flight. Yn awoke not long after to Jimmy talking just outside Karl's door "Karl, your gift is in there" "I told you guys not to get me anything" Yn could almost see the pout on his lips now Yn heard shuffling and turned the chair staring up at Karl

"Y-Yn?" Karl muttered as Yn nodded and stood up, leaving his gift on the chair. Karl scooped up Yn and twirled them around before being tossed onto his bed, where he jumped and hugged Yn with all his might, making them laugh at his actions. Jimmy and the rest of the crew left the room, but not before taking blackmail photos.

Before they both grew tired of talking, they both have been talking about everything. "Karl?" Yn asked as she noticed Karl leaning against Yn's shoulder and wrapping his arms around their waist. He responded with a gentle hum, as if to say, 'I'm listening, but he's also too tried to talk', "You're my favourite twitch crush."

New Years Dash is one of my favorite events in NJPW, it takes place the day after WK and it generally sets up new storylines for the year to come. you never really know what’s going to happen

this particular NYD (Jan 5th, 2016 - Official LINK, Unofficial LINK) is extremely good. Kenny and AJ have a tag match against Nakamura and YOSHI-HASHI, and Kenny (still a junior) pins Nakamura (the IC champion) winning the match. It’s the exact kind of Proving himself he set out to do by joining bullet club

and as they celebrate the victory Kenny looks over at AJ Styles

When we next see Kenny his gear has changed

1. Kenny irl wasn’t especially interested in the silent/cold/calculating “badass” character njpw gave him, these new pants are colorful and a bit silly, asserting his own interpretation of his character over the company’s (kind of like with the broom shtick)

2. they kind of match the Young Bucks’ gear (colorful and with fringe), signaling their connection

3. these pants become Kenny’s Not A Serious Match gear, he only wears them when he’s in matches that he sees as Unimportant, and for those matches he also keeps his shirt on. So they can be used to demonstrate his contempt for his opponents (wearing them even in title matches against those he sees as unworthy etc.)

Kenny and Tana’s IC title match is really, really fun (Feb 14, 2016 - Official LINK, Unofficial LINK) there is some ridiculous, elaborate cheating involving the bucks, it’s so funny that one of the japanese commentators actually bursts out laughing

it’s a huge moment, not only because it’s his first heavyweight title (something Kota was never able to achieve) but also because he wins it from Hiroshi Tanahashi, the Ace of NJPW, one of the Big Three wrestlers of NJPW, and Kota’s wrestling god

hi there! i'm going to respond to this as professional as i can. going back to my posts about the death threat rumors, i CAN NOT provide any proof that this actually exists. i simply addressed the fact that there MIGHT BE the possibility of it happening. again, i have no idea what's going on in the japanese community. i only saw the rumor on tumblr, twitter, etc. i understand that this issue is making us feel on edge and i, myself, was unsure with the said rumor. it is just a rumor. i simply spoke about it in respect to disney, the voice actors, and yana herself. i answered an ask regarding about this with me only seeing people criticising ROOK himself/his character, not the va and yana. regarding the death threats, the only post i saw was from a japanese tweet addressing this problem but with the translations i can be unsure as well (i'm trying to look for the post again but twitter as refreshed my whole dash).

OKAY SO I was so hyped about Pietro being mentioned in WandaVision, I tried to find out more, I checked ATJ's Wikipedia page and in english it says nothing, BUT I checked it in spanish, my first language (I'm from Canarias hi lol) AND his spanish Wikipedia page has WandaVision in his filmography as Pietro!! I mean anyone could have edited it and I don't wanna set myself/the mun/people for disappointment but GUYS- my fingers are crossed I love ATJ's Pietro.

I’m... going to dash a lot of hopes here, including my own, but I am 99% sure Pietro is returning for WandaVision..... and also 99% sure he will NOT be played by ATJ. Instead, he’ll be played by Evan Peters, the actor who played a mish-mashed-up version of Quicksilver and a another super hero, named Peter Maximoff. Sorry to all ATJ-version lovers. I love his version of Pietro too. But... it’s just not going to happen. =(

How do I know this? Aside from ATJ’s own admission in multiple interviews that he has no intention of ever returning to the MCU (which he seems very serious and adamant about), I have read in several different articles from several different sources (here is one of them if you would like to read it for yourself) that a recent leak has pretty much confirmed that Evan Peters will be playing Pietro in WandaVision. What happened was... the voice actor who dubbed the Spanish-language version of the X-men show that Peter Maximoff is in posted a tweet that basically said he’d be reprising his role for WandaVision and it would be the second time he did the Spanish dubbing for Quicksilver, and he attached a picture of Evan Peters. Shortly after it was posted, the tweet was removed, but by then it had already been shared and screenshotted.

Which then makes perfect sense as to why you would see the character listed for the Spanish version but not on ATJ’s filmography. So... It seems we are getting Pietro the character back (or maybe he’ll be called Peter now? Because everything in WandaVision is Americanized?), but he will be played by a different actor.

I... could almost be okay with this... if it was maybe someone going into Wanda’s little dream bubble (the same way Geraldine/Monica did) to maybe pose as Pietro to get Wanda to remember things. OR... if it was some strange alternate version of Pietro. I mean, I still hate it. So much. And I wish they would just leave the character alone rather than screwing him up. But I could almost see this and be able to deal with it...

...what I really hope doesn’t happen... but it’s looking more and more like it is... is that they recast the original Pietro and essentially retconned that Evan Peters was him all along. That would piss me off on so many levels and just honestly ruin a lot for me with regard to the character. Imagine Wanda acting like EP was her brother all along? Nothing against EP’s version if you like that one at well, but ATJ’s MCU version is soooo different in style and background and just everything. If this is what they’re going to do, then I am going to have serious problems with it and have to really sit down and figure out what I’m going to include in my own version of Pietro’s canon and what I’m going to just basically ignore.

Of course none of us actually know what is going to happen until it actually happens... but this leak I talked about combined with what you’re seeing listed on the Spanish Wiki pages seems to confirm our worst nightmare for Pietro. It’s such a shame, and I wish they hadn’t done this, but we’ll just have to muddle through it. Maybe we’ll get lucky and all of this will turn out to be wrong/fake/misunderstood. I guess that’s our last hope at this point. =(

I am truly sorry to everyone reading this whose bubble I just burst. I guess I would rather not see people get their hopes up super high when I had information to the contrary. I hope I’m wrong. Let’s all hope for that.

Not everyone’s an angel

Going to go off on a little side journey here, please stick with me. 

I know it’s out of character for me to show concern, but don’t worry. I’ll be back to my regularly scheduled self soon enough I’m sure. 

A post came across my dash today that highlighted many of the times Michael Sheen has responded to a fan’s tweet for help, so to speak.  It’s heartwarming to see how much he really cares about people, and I’m sure it’s a thrill for those he contacts directly. 

However, being the skeptical bitch that I am, I saw several red flags in those threads. 

First- many of the tweeters are minors, sharing intimate details of their lives for all the Internet to see.  Remember when people pushed to get Michael more than 500,000 followers?  He’s now at over 505,000 followers and the number keeps going up.  So now when he responds to tweets over HALF A MILLION PEOPLE potentially see it.  And they can see the tweets to which he’s responded.  While I know that neither mental illness nor struggling through hard times are anything to be ashamed of, exposing those struggles and illnesses to hundreds of thousands of strangers can lead to SO MANY BAD THINGS I can’t even wrap my brain around them.  People, especially minors, need to be careful. There are predators online and many of these tweeters just told “the bad guys” what they need to know to manipulate them.  Someone less honourable than MS could start targeting these fans and take advantage.  The “Sheendom” is small and exclusive, not everyone who follows Michael is in it.

Second- at least one of these stories was debunked a while ago.  I don’t have the details, I wasn’t the one who debunked it, but I saw the screenshots that prove it.  A response or a like from Michael Sheen has become currency, with people doing all sorts of underhanded things to gather it.  What the hell is wrong with people who are so desperate for attention that they’d fake a sob story and tag a celebrity?  I’ve seen non-Sheendom Sheen fans joke that the only thing they need to get his attention is a heart in their Twitter name and a sad tale.  People are noticing.

And finally- We know he’s a soft heart.  He seems to genuinely like helping people.  But we also know that he’s had some BIG struggles of his own over the last year and a half, he’s said it himself.  He also said that support from the Good Omens fandom helped him through the rough times and I believe that.  I’m sure he wants to give back to the group that supported him, but how much can someone expend before they’re depleted?  Things are still really stressful for everyone, I get that, and we all need someone to vent to, to talk to, to ask for help from.  If you need help, reach out to someone with whom you can make a real connection, not a celebrity in his 50s, with his own baggage to carry, no matter how angelic he seems.

TL;DR: Be careful with how much you spill on the 'webz.  Not everyone is as nice as he is.  Also- don’t make shit up.
