"You're not allowed to order water."

"Wriothesley..."

He slides the drink menu over to you with a stern, "Pick one."

"...but I don't need—"

"It's not about needing. I took you out to spoil and indulge you, don't deny me that pleasure."

You've been dating Wriothesley long enough for him to find your cautiousness when it comes to his funds an issue.

On the first few dates you two shared, though he'd rather have pampered you with lavish meals and treats, he decided to look the other way when it came to how you'd always miraculously choose the most inexpensive dishes on the menu.

"I guess that's only polite...", he reasoned with himself, weighing whether or not he should mention to you that money was not a problem for him; but eventually, he thought it better to just give you time.

"Once we get more comfortable, it'll change."

And once you two did get comfortable, and he found that your behavior, in fact, did not change, his patience wore thin.

Why were you still so uncomfortable with him? It was almost an insult that you thought so little of him to assume he'd find paying for you a burden.

So, he takes to ordering for you. He knows what you like, and he knows if he lets you choose for yourself, the price will play a factor into what you order—even subconsciously.

Until you start choosing the most expensive meals on the menu, you're not allowed to make objections or requests without grounds like allergies or dislikes; which you won't have, because he knows you too well by now.

If you try to lie and tell him you don't like something he's picked for you, you will fail. Miserably, so.

"I don't like crab.", you argue—peeking over your menu at him in an attempt to hide your tells that he's become much too familiar with. He could read you like a book, and you have no idea how he's gained so much expertise in the field of you.

"Uh huh, sure, doll.", he doesn't even look at you, his attention on the waiter as he orders. "That one—", he says, flicking his finger to point at you, "is going to have golden crab.".

"And the crab will be market-priced. Will that be all right with you, sir?", the waiter feels the need to confirm, as market-priced foods are often quite expensive.

You jump in, "How mu—"

"That's fine.", Wriothesley interjects, giving you a stern look as he plucks the menu from your hands, revealing your red cheeks (a symptom of your fibbing), and passes it to the waiter before handing him his own. He doesn't need to hear the price, it's just a number, and you're worth more than all the mora in his bank account. No matter how ardently you can try to protest, he's committed to giving you what he knows you want—even if you hesitate to ask for it.

And watching from across the table how your eyes glimmer and beautiful cheeks turn rosy pink as the opulent flavors hit your tongue is more than enough compensation for him to recieve in return.

Neuvillette finds your financial prudence to be a quality of yours he actually quite admires. Too often, he sees thoughtless individuals land themselves in his court with grave, unsettled debts due to gambling or overspending, so your conscientiousness is to be commended!

However, when he is the one footing the bill, he sees no logical need for you to apply this virtue. He knows what he can afford, so you need not worry about it; and to see that telltale crease between your eyebrows as you worry yourself over what to choose on a menu with nothing priced less than ˙✧12500 mora, simply crushes him.

He can never sit right with himself when you have that anxious look on your face, it makes him feel like he’s failing as your partner. And over something so small as a handful of mora! He finds it necessary to talk you through the logic of the situation rather than your—for lack of better word—illogical fixation on a metaphysical number.

“Sweetheart,”, he calls in that soothing, deep vibration of his voice that feels like resting in the coolest, calmest waters of Fontaine, “I am the Chief Justice of Fontaine; as such, I’ve been entrusted to oversee both criminal and civil trials due to my ability to apply sound judgement to otherwise complex situations, unrivaled by anyone else in the nation.”

“…”, you sit quietly with your hands in your lap and blink at him, tongue-tied as his explanation begins to make perfect sense.

“…don’t you think I would have the discernment to manage my own finances?”, he concludes, hammering his claim into you with one last strike.

You have no rebuttal. He’s pinned you so effortlessly, it’s embarrassing. Sometimes, it’s a challenge to date a man with such vast practice in rhetorical argument.

Your worries being soothed with such tact actually makes you quite flustered, your cheeks and nose turning a soft shade of red as you pout in defeat.

The way your expression graduated from nervous to sheepish with just a few sentences of reasoning makes him chuckle, reaching out to lift your chin with the knuckle of his index finger with a cheery, but reserved smile on his face.

“Darling, I’ve brought you out tonight to spoil you. Do me the honor of having some fun while we’re here? There’s nothing more I want right now than to see your beautiful smile.”

You find it’s impossible to hold back the simper that blooms on your face from that remark, to which he smirks with pride.

This was the most fulfilling trial he’s held in a century.

I think this is the last I have to say about it, certainly not until new episodes air, but the thing about What The Fuck Is Up With That is that it's emblematic of the issues Bells Hells have - and to be honest I suspect always might have - regarding trust. It's a party game. It's a fun way to get surface-level answers. It's an infodump. It's telling not showing. It's not a bad thing, but you don't build trust, actually, by providing every piece of information! In fact, sometimes, it's good to keep your inside thoughts inside! You build trust with other people through your actions: through keeping your word, through proving your ability to do what they expect of you. Perhaps this is a personal experience and not a universal tenet, but people who share everything about themselves right away and people who end up being genuinely reliable and close and trustworthy are often two nearly entirely separate camps.

This also does once again feel like something with an interesting echo within the fandom. Earlier on in the campaign, before the introduction of 4-Sided Dive, I received a lot of questions about whether it would be helpful if we had something like Talks and my response was usually "no, the issue is that I know everything about the backstory and not actually much anyone's motivations; I have a factual list of personal history and I'm looking for a sense of someone's personality." This still comes up occasionally when I talk about Laudna, whose motivations remain hazy much of the time; we have a quite detailed outline of her history but it is missing the only things that actually matter. We know what. We don't know why. Bells Hells knows so much what about each other and they still struggle, even now, with "why".

And when it comes to why, telling people is nice, but it's very easy to lie about motivations. Indeed, that's why Imogen ends up fooled by her mother; she knows what Liliana did but assumed there was a deeper why than there ended up being; that Liliana wasn't simply seduced by the idea that Predathos would free her and Imogen from the burden of their powers but was also working as a force for good within the Vanguard and wouldn't hurt so many people. The revelation that the "why" really was that simple was ultimately why Imogen felt betrayed. Knowing more details about Liliana doesn't help.

Chetney ends up being the illustrative exception here, if that helps. He arrived late to the party. He never played What The Fuck Is Up With That. He even told them what he was there for (looking for Gurge) and lied about the "why" (werewolf reasons) initially. He to this day keeps secrets. But he's open about keeping secrets. That caginess allows him to be one of the party members most people trust on a fundamental level. They don't trust him to be kind, or generous per se; they don't even trust him to not hurt them. But they trust him to not hurt them intentionally, since he's repeatedly shown he will take steps to avoid this. He is cagey and uncooperative during most of the honesty exercise, but when he finally says something, it isn't a judgement - it is an explanation of his own behavior. When he declines to share his deal with Morri, he still reassures them that he did not do anything that would fall to them - and that's honest, and that's what matters, that he made a deal for himself and himself alone. Compare with Orym, who hides even the fact he made the deal, or Ashton a couple days ago, who hid their true plans with the shard. On the surface, Chetney is the one hiding something - but he is honest that he hides things. If Chetney's secret comes out? It won't change the party's understanding of his trustworthiness; it will just change some of the facts. If Orym's comes out or when Ashton's was revealed? That's a huge change in the party's understanding of their motivations.

Honesty in this party has been a game from the start, and as the exercises show, it still mostly is. A panopticon is, unsurprisingly, not a great way to make people trust each other; a little open hiding and actions over words are in order. I don't think that's necessarily a problem, in that I think Bells Hells share, if not a vast overreaching goal, an agreement regarding their pretty significant task. But I think any deeper trust is yet to be actually tested, tried, and forged.

At first he didn't really think much about you. You were just another crazy Akademiya scholar. That was what he thought of, at least at the beginning.

Alhaitham is a quite busy man, being acting grand sage. He probably needed to greet new scholars, but he didn't. It probably took him like- a month? To finally see you. He was walking around Akademiya, maybe hiding from Kaveh who knows, and then he saw you. You were.. scolding or teaching another scholar. By the way you talked about the subject, anyone could see you were intelligent. At least in that subject if not in any. He was quite....impressed. Considering how a lot of them a just smart or people who use smart capsules y'know? For a person to be this passionate and knowledgeable about something is astonishing. Not only that, but your looks are breathtaking! You were so intelligent that it seems you may become a grand sage too.

I can say he did understand what he felt, but decided to ignore it.

It was a mistake. When he ignored you, your presence and his feelings, some sort of pit grew inside him. It was a terrible feeling. He felt..lonely. And the thought of you interacting with all this not so stupid scholars just drives him mad. The more he suppressed his feelings, the more the pit grew.

So just like that, he tried his making moves......

"To what do I owe your attention today?" Exclaimed Alhaitham. You stood still for a second before replying that you just needed to test your theory. You seemed sleep deprived.

"Hey (Y/n), it seems like you're struggling. Never had I seen you like this." - said Alhaitham. You groaned at that. You had a theory about something, but didn't know how to check if it was correct.

"Well, would you like me to help you?" He smiled. You felt a bit embarrassed but agreed. Your checks grew a bit hot. It's not everyday such a hot man is sitting right next to you and tries to help you.

"It's too noisy here, you won't be able to concentrate on it." Whispered Alhaitham. You raised your eyebrow. "Would you like to visit my room for that matter? I have some books there, that may help you." He replied to your questioning gaze.

So where were you now?

It's been a week since that statement. Ofcourse you agreed and you've come to visit him and his room more often. You found more clues that can prove that your theory is correct. And some that made you have more questions. Though, it seemed like Alhaitham was..reluctant to let you out of his room. And he looked irritated everytime you mentioned someone else. That was strange, it arouse some suspicion in you. Could he perhaps have a crush on you? It's not everyday an acting grand sage let's some random scholar into his room, every single day.

It's been a month now.

You weren't sure what was going on in head. You proven your theory correct, and stated a new project. Alhaitham insisted on you keep coming into his room. It was nice quality time together, you saw him as your friend. He was doing his thing, you were doing your own thing. All fine. He still was irritated at mention of anyone, and you were spending more and more time in his room. At some point he even looked...quite possessive? Nooo wayyyyy. You probably are just too tired from work, but still decided to be a bit alarmed, just in case. It's not like you don't trust your friend, it's just.. You lose all your connections with outside world, your friends and even family. It.. doesn't seem right. You decided to distance yourself from Alhaitham. There were red flags. Be it crush, or just friends it doesn't matter.

This beautiful highborn could have been someone that the two brothers fancied. Maybe they felt nothing for her at first. All of it was just to get a rise out of Jace. But the two brothers soon find themselves seeking her company more than they should.

Either way, the brothers aren’t happy that someone like Jace gets to have such a beauty. To which they make sure that Jace knows of this. 

Aemond is much better at keeping his feelings hidden. Though it doesn't mean the lady or Jace or even his mother won't notice his behavior.

He wouldn’t outright tell you of Jace’s parentage, but you’d hear the word ‘strong’ more than once. He also acts more of a ‘gentleman’ than his brother, though that can be said for anyone compared to Aegon. 

He likes it when you’re the one to approach him. Most often you’d find his eye watching you from the corner of the room.

Unlike many men who have tried to court you, their bored expression could be seen clearly when you’d converse with them, but that wasn’t the case with Aemond. Although his expression is hard to read, you can clearly see his interest in what you discuss. Jace enjoyed your discussions of art and philosophy, but he often struggled to understand them. 

Still, it wasn’t all rainbows and sunshine with Aemond. His jaw clenched at the mere mention of Jace's name. And when you stood up for the prince and said you'd be honored to be his wife, the one-eyed prince's anger was more evident. When you would say this, you didn’t like the way Aemond looked at you, as if you were some naïve child.

And while Aemond's response may have unnerved you. Nothing could have prepared you for Aegon’s. 

Even a fool could see Aegon’s interest in you. His mother did what she could do to ensure you were far away from her son. Not only were you betrothed to another, but Aegon was a married man. Unlike his brother, it was Aegon who would always approach you.

Aegon gave Jace a taste of his medicine when he asked you for a dance. You weren’t sure how long you were willing to pretend as if you don’t feel his hand creeping too close to your behind. How your body is tightly crushed against his, all the while his face mere inches away from yours. To add more salt to the wound, his eyes would dare to glance over at your betrothal whose hands are in clenched fists.

And unlike his brother, who hints at Jace’s legitimacy. Aegon tells you right out. And as you would with Aemond, you stood up for the prince, repeating your septa’s words. Faced with your defense of Jace's legitimacy, you see Aegon's smile spread even further. 

His next words make your stomach drop. If Jace was as much as a Targaryen you said he was, then surely it won’t matter which one of them puts a child into you. 

Right there and then, you seriously underestimate how shameless Aegon can be. With his mother nearby and Jace on your side, you believed you would be safer.

And most of all, you thought Aemond would be the voice of reason. But seeing him converse with his brother from afar with both of their heads turned to you suggested otherwise. There was no getting along between the brothers, but when they agreed on one thing. May the gods be with you.

Aizen is perhaps the worst person to be with as a vampire unfortunately but is anyone surprised

Look, he's capable of learning to love but it's a slow and hard process that sadly means you suffer more then he will....to start

He wants control of everything starting with when and what you eat along with how much you get

His blood, wonderful tasting as it is, is only ever a treat for good behavior and more often than not you get espada blood

This will continue for as long as he doest fully trust or care about you

Fights are a common during this time but the longer you choose him, the longer you stay and fight back the more he softens and opens up

Though it takes time Aizen does eventually see why his actions are wrong and though he won't regret them he does change and aim to make up for it

Fresh blood from kills he got for you, his own blood straight from his arm or neck if you all are feeling cuddly and plenty of gifts

He thrives on watching you thrive, of seeing you smile and revel in being full and able to exist without worry

A power couple in the most dangerous sense of the words not to be taken lightly yet so happy to merely be around each other even if the road to get there was rough 

Komamura

An absolute sweetheart who will do his best to make you feel accepted no matter your past or problems

Komamura understands what it's like to be so different and knows first hand that it can be hard to trust others so he wanted to reach out to you

Though he doesn't fully understand all your needs and will struggle to understand he wants you to tell him everything so he can help

Will have Unahana draw his blood so you can have food, his squad is willing to do the same one you become friends

One of the things he greatly appreciate about your skills is the ability to melt into the shadows, he doesn't want you to have to fight and this method can keep you safe

Trains with you whenever you ask and is happy to help you learn or overcome any trouble

You being a vampire really doesn't change anything to him, Komamura sees you as person separate from anything else

So long as you want to protect people and have good morals that's enough for him, you accept him and he accepts you

Kenpachi

Kenpachi is weirdly the best person to be with as a vampire and he's proud of it

Need food? That's find he was in a fighting mood anyway, he can hunt for you if you want or better yet just drink from him

It's the same for if you're ever worried about losing control or just need to explain some energy Kenpachi is more than happy to fight you and keep a close eye on you

He defends you from the others who think you’re untrustworthy or dangerous, really you're no worse than him

To everyone's amusement you both have this line of thought that you've tamed a beast in one way or another

Really Kenpachi is just so proud to say your his lover and for so many reasons that no one can really argue with him on it

Will want to fight you sometimes ya know to test "your strength and make sure your not holding back too much"

Gets really jealous if you drink from anyone else, even a blood bag but won't admit it, the only exception to this is if its a kill he got you

Overall he's fine with it there's nothing about it that bothers him and he encourages everything you do, feral or not he's here for it

• because of Dilf!Luke's authoritative streak and the tendency to be quiet possessive, I definitely see him as as someone who gets jealous easily

• he's not proud of it though, maybe even ashamed, and thus tries to keep it hidden as one of the aspects he doesn't like about himself

• furthermore he's aware his behavior led to more than just a few arguments with his former lovers, so, when he first decided he wanted a relationship with you, he knew he needed to better himself

• much easier said than done though

• naturally he can't change over night, can't abruptly stop what so easily rises to the surface

• since modern day Dilf!Luke was never subjected to Obi-Wan's and Yoda's teachings, he kept some mannerisms and ways that would've otherwise changed and while he's still, above all things, a kind-hearted, caring and gentle man, his impatience and quick-temper often tend to get the better of him

• not as well balanced he's impulsive and stubborn, either acting and speaking on his feelings before thinking about the consequences, or not at all

• especially because everything you are, everything about you, has him struggling to keep his emotions under proper control

• he can't believe it himself, how hard he fell for you, never would've expected to be swept off his feet like that and is now absolutely overwhelmed with all of what is going on inside of him

• still you deserve a trusting and loving partner and he's set on being that for you no matter how difficult it is for him to keep his temper in check

• athough it definitely took him a while to arrive at this conclusion, he now understands that it's mostly his own insecurities he gets upset about when he sees you with someone else

• I really believe he learned from the mistakes he made in the past and, going forward, does his best to deal with his jealousy on his own

• while I don't think he'd go as far as to actually open up about his feelings fully, he'd put a lot of effort into looking up the topic to better understand himself

• only if it gets especially bad he might gather all of his courage to initiate a conversation about it but rarely/never in a way that's accusing you of anything

• he knows better than that

• possibly you won't even notice he's being jealous with how elegantly he handles certain situations anyways

• though you can be sure none of those coming face to face with him have anything to laugh about

• while most of the time he successfully manages to keep himself under control, respectfully letting you decide how to handle an admirer yourself, he can't always help it

• staying very much true to the motto "what my partner doesn't know, won't upset them", Luke never fails to remain ostensibly polite while absolutely dishing out behind your back if he sees fit

• he knows how intimidating he can be and makes good use of it too

• not that he needs to fall back on any of his harsher methods often, most of the time just a single look of his is enough to make the person in question retreat

• this usually happens when you're out and about and, most importantly, without your knowledge

• why upset you unnecessarily?

• maybe you're going for a nice walk or out on a date, maybe you're visiting a museum or a pretty café

• or maybe it's during grocery shopping that someone catches Luke's attention because of the way they're eyeing you from afar

• (unknown to you this happens pretty often and he doesn't really mind someone taking a quick glance)

• (you're beautiful and he can't fault anyone for noticing)

• (plus it makes him super proud he's the one you chose to be with)

• (nevertheless he won't tolerate people leering at you openly, it drives him crazy, HE'S the only one allowed to look at you like that)

• no matter the circumstances and how much is blood is boiling, he will make sure you're properly distracted before taking care of it though

• "will you go ahead and order for us, sweetheart?"

• "oh what's that? did your favorite author publish a new book? I haven't seen this one yet"

• then, as soon as your focus is elsewhere he'll abruptly turn around, sternly glaring at whoever is lingering about, a silent challenge in his eyes like he's daring them to make a move

• most falter immediately

• those who don't are quick to leave as soon as he addresses them head on

• "can I help you?"

• "is there anything you need my assistance for?"

• no one ever fails to hear the gentle warning behind his words

• rarely the both of you find yourself in a situation where Luke actually sees it fit to include you in his endeavors since he thinks it's not a very gentleman-like thing to do

• so when he does resort to it it's always in a subtle way that doesn't immediately make you question his behavior

• a hand on your back, his arm around your waist, whispering in your ear

• it's easy, really, to send an obvious signal to bystanders and to some extend he even finds himself enjoying it

• the only thing that really makes him feel as if he's about to burst is if someone starts talking to you with intent, deliberately making an effort to ignore his presence

• he trusts you to handle it well, you do so better than he ever could

• but the blatant disrespect from the person in front of you has him fuming

• if looks could kill, there'd be dead body right in front of you rather quickly

• it takes him quite a while to cool off after too, during which he goes very silent, possibly not even speaking to you

• though he'll apologize to you for his behavior later once he's trusting himself to think straight again

As a result he may force himself into conversations to try and show others you're taken.

Eridan himself tends to make people uncomfortable or less social so he acts like a repellent at times and he knows it?

He'll cling to you to both distract you and make others uncomfortable.

For the most part it works half the time.

You are often oblivious to his jealousy and attempts to make you less social.

He both loves and hates your extroverted behavior.

He wants to keep your bubbly nature to himself... but struggles with how?

At first he tries to tolerate it.

There's days he just wants you and him to stay in his hive.

However other days he tags along to social events you have just to make sure there's no cheating and no one tries anything.

If someone tries any flirting Eridan no doubt threatens them with violence.

Yet, when it comes to him, I assume he has his limits.

As for your question, I answered this partly wayyyy back when I first started the blog here, but this is their impressions of the Villain before their self-imposed exile, and as such, I will be adding their feelings towards the MC post that exile.

Archie

Arcturus does not know how to feel about the Villain. Milo has kept him appraised of their adventures over the years, and he has begun to wonder if they have changed, but he remembers them from before the exile and he is conflicted. He hopes that what he has heard is true, he hopes that [SPOILER] means that they are no longer the person he remembers. But at the end of the day, this is merely a hope and he will have to wait and see.

Adhy

Adhara is wary of Ophiuchus' new Minister of Foreign Affairs. Tales of their exploits have reached her ears through Milo, and she has heard from [SPOILER] that the Villain is [REDACTED]. She is to take the wait and see approach, because she remembers their callousness with other noble children and the rumors she believes they spread regarding her brother. Like Arcturus, she is taking the wait and see approach, but unlike her brother, there is no hope within her, merely a patient sort of wariness.

Vicky

Victoria had only seen the Villain from affair, but she knows of their reputation and has seen them at their worst. She might have been from a lesser noble family, but she has always been watchful and she notices things. Her love for life makes it so she is willing to welcome the Villain with open arms as Milo's reports do show a change in character, but even then, she keeps a wary eye out for she won't allow them to ruin what she has built.

Carmen

There is no mixed opinion, no doubt on this case. Carmen hates the Villain for their bullying. She is not aware of the Villain's exploit's abroad, so to her, it seems as if her old bully is returning victorious after gaining everything they wanted and more. It is made worse by the fact that she knows the story and knows [SPOILER] so she worries that they are playing right into their hands.

Milo

Funnily enough, for all that Milo's job exposes him to the worst of humanity, he is the one that has the most faith in the Villain at the beginning of the story. Since he gained his position as Spy Master, he took special care to pay close attention to the Villain and he has seen how they have changed and their feats. Still, he is aware that he was not one of their victims so it is not his place to forgive the Villain, and he knows that the Villain might regress to their old self once they return 'home', so he has kept his opinion to himself.

Blake

Simply put, they do not care about your previous reputation. To them, all you are is a potential rival. As another person blessed with the Obscurae Arcana since birth, the Villain had a much better life than Blake could have dreamed off when they were young. As such, they want to surpass the Villain's accomplishments and demonstrate that they are stronger than them, better than them because it was Blake who abolished the unjust laws against the Obscurae Arcana, not the Villain. Not Navis.

Val

Yet another person who has no previous relations with the Villain. Xyr opinion of the Villain is simple: xe cannot judge them for things they did before xe knew them, so xe will wait and see what is the Villain's behavior once they meet.

Rowan

Even before Milo, Rowan is the biggest supporter of the Villain. Fae knows more about the Villain than anyone else, bar Orion, and that means that fae trusts them explicitly. Fae knows their struggles and know that they regrets their actions, has seen their efforts to change.

Eddie: okay, I won't ruin the school property anymore, I've learn my lesson, guilty as charged, never happening again

Principal: well, that's it, Munson, you can go now

He walks out of the principal's office, locks eyes with Max.

Eddie: no

Max:

Eddie: you can't do that again, Red

Max: but it's funny

Eddie: for the first three times

Max: Steve and Robin have shifts, Nancy is tutoring today

Eddie:

Eddie: okay, let's go

He turns around and goes to the principal office. Door opens, principal looks at him in question. He slowly moves away from the doorframe and principal immediately sighs.

They both sit down, Eddie's face is now clear of any emotion.

Eddie: what this little innocent lady could've possibly done wrong? whatever you have to say, it wasn't her fault, I'm sure

Max's knuckles are visibly bruised, there's still blood on her bottom lip and she struggles to keep her laugh inside, when principal sends them both an unimpressed gaze.

Principal: Mr. Munson, I would like to see one of Max's real parents or legal guardians for this meeting

Eddie: I'm the only one available at the moment

Principal: I insist on the matter.

Eddie: I am her emergency contact, and I am here. let's just discuss the issue so we all can go home

Principal: we've already discussed it three times in two weeks, and there was no improvement in Max's behavior, these conversations clearly do not work

Eddie: so what to we do

Principal: parent or guardian, Mr. Munson.

Eddie:

Eddie: I'm not sure if that's a good idea

Eddie: but what can I say... Max, call Steve, would ya?

Max: he's working

Eddie: principal here wants to see a responsible adult who can take some action, since I'm not capable, apparently, so give 'em a responsible adult

Max: Steve isn't a-

Eddie: just do it already, I'm not waiting here til the morning

It takes exactly 7 minutes for Steve to enter the principal's office. He still is in his uniform, breathing uneven - as if he was running. He should've used his car to get there.

Steve: good evening?..

Principal: Mr Harrington?

Steve: that would be me, yes

Principal: and your connection to Max is..?

Steve: I'm her brother. is... is everything okay, what did you need me for?

Principal: please, sit down, there's a lot to discuss

Steve sits down, looking at Max and Eddie beforehand. There is no guilt in those eyes. Eddie's mouth twitches as he tries not to giggle.

Principal: it's the forth time we happen to meet with Max in my office, second one this week

Steve: forth time???

He looks at Eddie again, but he avoids the eye contact, pretending to be interested in the wall's ornament.

Principal: her behavior is questionable, at last. she initiates lots of fights - mostly verbal, but there are physical ones too

Principal: she almost broke a boy's arm today

Steve notices Max's knuckles, and even though his expression seems thoughtful, both Max and Eddie could tell he is, in fact, angry.

Steve: who was it?

Principal: please, elaborate?

Steve: the boy you mentioned to provoke Max?

Principal: Mr. Harrington, I assure you, nobody provoked anyone

Steve: if there was a fight, there was a reason for it too. Who is this "boy" and why isn't he now here, with us?

Principal: I assure you, Jason doesn't need to be here, he wasn't the one to initiate the fight. we're talking about Max's predisposition towards violence

Steve: Eddie, do you know the Jason guy?

Eddie: probably? isn't he the one from the basketball team?

Steve: and I want to talk to a boy who presumably is the reason why I had to leave my job in the middle of the shift and waste my time here. Let me contact his parents or do it yourself, I don't care.

Steve: you can't expect her to be teached a lesson if she's the only one to be punished for her actions. either I see other kids who were included or I take her home and you don't call me here ever again, and are dealing with Munson instead

Story sinopsis from SpiderIguano's POV:

Radioactive spiders were set loose on my island by the US government. They started testing on my island 1955 days ago, they've done this before, mainly to our women and our sister island Vieques. This time it was most of the population, and it ended badly… again.

Some went insane, some died, others weren't affected, but a few of us... well... let's just say we got lucky.Many took advantage of this and went to attack the US government, others attacked our government, but they both failed. Shortly after they shut down the airports, but people have fled and come in just to see the havoc. As society crumbles we're focusing on lowering the crime rates while trying to keep our hopes up, but not me.

I didn't chose this, and I don't want this. I don't care about people, they couldn't care less about me to begin with. Not that I don't understand, because I do… and I'd ditch myself too.

Other story details:

These are spidersonas, self inserts (can't speak for spideriguano he didnt want me to clarify, but treat it with respect). SpiderIguano belongs to a friend who would like to stay anonymous.

The story is a very short cómic about two friends dealing with having complicated mental disorders and trauma background that ended up destroying their relationship.

Split (my spidersona)

Split is a man who isolates when he's going through harship, he usually warns of his need of space but this still strains his relationships. If anyone hurts him too many times he usually cuts ties with them immediately. He's a man on a journey, and although he's struggling mentally he wants to heal desperately and will do anything to get better. And this leads him to a journey of taking matters in to his own hands and stopping those who severely harm others.

Splitwidow is known to roam in the shadows, no one's seen him or knows what his suit even looks like. But what they do know is his behavior can go from erratic and unplanned to calculated and complex. He works alone. An urban legend of sorts. The male siren and black widow.

Iguano (not mine)

The anger in him fuels his every day life. He didnt have a filter and the price wasnt just his reputation but everything he had. His heart was in the right place and he thought that was all that mattered, but he went about it the worst way he posibly could've chosen. Turns out being cruel with good intentions wasnt going to be taken right by many, he recognized he was in the wrong. He was no victim, he became the very thing he hated, a bully and at wost an abuser. It angered him to see his friends hurting and staying in places that ruined them more. He'd do anything to try and get them out. Thus the bridges burned, and nothing was the same.

He decided he won't have any friends until he can prove to himself he can change, he can be kind and caring. He wont try to control, even if he has good intentions, it wasnt his place to do whatever he wanted. His childhood will not define him anylonger. His anger will not control him. He will be better.

Motivated by growth and the idea that although he can't be forgiven, he can atone and make up for all the harm he's done to others. Especially the friend he accidentally hurt in their lowest moment. He dresses up at night and patrols around town to find some peace of mind. Reflecting on his behavior and ways to deal with himself from the roots of his issues. He drifts inside his own moral dilema. What are you supposed to do when your friends are stuck in a dangerous relationship and they refuse to leave?

It kept him up at night.

During his patrol he discovers the spider verse society who have tried their hardest to deal with the islands mess. Every Puerto Rican and their mother despises them and what theyre chosing to do. Something something, the canon is broken. Along the way the Rebells find him and try to convince him to join, the rebellion is lead by Teo, someone who despite being bitten by a spider didnt develop anything special, the unsuspecting genius trying to stop the spidercanon police. After getting close to Teo, he finds out about Split who's known to not trust anyone except, well, Teo.

If he can heal enough to become a better person, befriending that Split idiot might as well be his biggest achievement in this journey.

Review of G5 MYM Ch4. Ep. 5, "The Manesquerade Ball"

G1 had the Costume Ball in "Escape from Catrina", G3 had the Friendship Ball, G4 had the Grand Galloping Gala, and now G5 has the Manesquerade Ball! (RIP G2, not having a cartoon.)

Plot summary: After being grounded (and against Opaline's orders), Misty sneaks out to visit her pony friends and gets invited to the Manesquerade Ball in Zephyr Heights.

During the ball Zipp sneaks into the restricted section of the castle's library to do research on alicorns and Misty follows her, fearing that Zipp will find out too much about Opaline. When Zipp finds Misty there she confronts her on her history of odd behavior. Misty confesses she doesn't have a cutie mark, which makes her fearful that the other ponies won't want to be friends with her.

Zipp reassures her that she and the others like Misty, cutie mark or not.

"Just no more big secrets, okay? And I'll work on the 'not trusting you' thing."

Misty happily agrees and, since they aren't keeping secrets, shows Zipp the alicorn book. They don't have a chance to look at it right away as Sunny needs them for her Unity Dance on the main dance floor. Cut to later; Zipp examines the book but someone has torn out the most important pages. A final scene reveals that someone to be Misty. Meanwhile, Opaline has returned to the lair with the Dragonstone.

Thoughts:

This was an excellent episode! Man, I have so many thoughts. The start of this episode has Opaline being as toxic as ever, telling Misty she's ungrounded, but telling her she's not allowed to leave the lair. (Which sounds like being grounded.) "Maybe it's a test, but maybe I trust you." Judging from the reactions of the Mane 5, Misty has been grounded for a long time, possibly weeks.

Misty is becoming more independent but is still under Opaline's hoof. It's like she's trying to do a balancing act: satisfying Opaline while also building herself up with her friends. But ultimately those goals are incompatible. Not only because Opaline wants to take over Equestria, but also because she would never allow Misty to actually have friends. Nevertheless, the thought of getting praised by Opaline (a rare experience!), or maybe a desire to protect her, prompts Misty to steal the pages of the alicorn book.

The way they revealed the theft of the pages was very unusual and very effective. We don't see Misty steal them; we don't even get a shot of her looking at the book, being tempted. Instead the show cuts straight from the dance scene to the Mane 5 + Misty hanging out later. She stole the pages sometime in between these scenes. The change in Misty's demeanor is immediately noticeable: during the dance she was happy, while at the after-party she is reserved and melancholy.

On my first viewing I assumed that Misty was sad about having to return to Opaline. Knowing the full context, this scene hits harder. As Misty leaves she says "Thanks, Zipp, for saying that I was your friend." I don't think it's a coincidence that she phrases it in the past tense. She knows stealing the pages was a betrayal but it's "too late", she already did it. It continues to eat at her, as we see when she returns to the lair and looks the saddest she ever has.

I previously said that I like this slow rollout of Misty's story, how her struggle to separate from Opaline is continuous. I also think it's interesting how she's gradually moved from being a side character to being a protagonist . . . arguably THE protagonist. A protagonist is "the character who drives the action, the character whose fate matters most." It's common a villain's sidekick to do a heel-turn and join the good guys, but usually it's framed from the heroic character's perspective.

Other thoughts:

I liked the scene where Izzy gives Misty the charm bracelet. For all that she's a cloudcuckoolander, Izzy has a lot of emotional intelligence.

When Pipp talked about "nopony knows who anyone is, they wear masks" I assumed that this was going to be an episode where we just pretend like ponies don't have unique colors that make them instantly identifiable, but then the paparazzi immediately descend on Queen Haven and Pipp and I was like "OHHHH the ponies just pretend not to recognize each other, like parents when they see a little kid in a Halloween costume." Which is charming.

There's a moment when the Mane 5 + Misty dancing where Alphabittle--watching from the sidelines--gets a serious look on his face and squints. The next shot is briefly of Misty, until a pony in the foreground moves into Alphabittle's sightline. So the implication is that this brief glimpse of Misty sparked a feeling of recognition in Alphabittle. Which makes sense since Misty had to come from somewhere--probably Bridlewood. Maybe Alphabittle is her father or her uncle?

I liked the Mane Melody scene and the dance scene; really catchy song too! Even though they don't move the plot along, I like seeing ponies just vibing. It has G3 energy. I much prefer it to the "wacky hijinks" scenes, like when they were trying to get the flying mice out of the old factory. MORE SONGS.

Zipp has even more of a Ziggy Stardust aesthetic than usual

Trigger warning for discussion of OCD themes, which can trigger people who suffer from OCD.

This post was made so that it could be reblogged and possibly prompt people to do more research. However, it is not required to reblog this post. Not reblogging this post is morally neutral, no one will be harmed and nothing bad will happen if you choose not to reblog it!

I'm only able to cover a very small amount of information, please do your research and take my words with a grain of salt and do further reading if youre interested, I am not an all-knowing being.

So I know most of y'all you think OCD is just about being really clean and that's not your fault but it's super important that y'all understand that

1. Contamination isn't always about germs.

2. That even when it is about germs what that really looks like.

3. OCD can also present as serious morality or religious issues, harm issues, there is an actual subset of ocd called Hit and Run ocd which is a fear of hitting someone with your car people have actually quit driving because of this, skin picking compulsions, etc. There is so much more than wanting to be clean and tidy all the time. (This does not mean that people with "Just Right" ocd or ocd people have tics and compulsions related to cleaning do not exist. They do exist and they are deserving of compassion and consideration when discussing OCD education and acceptance.)

On top of just germs, people with ocd can fear being contaminated by bigotry(Oh look, it's me!), personalities, radioactivity, soap, newspaper, colors, thoughts, words. Anything really.

Even when it is just being "clean" it can be a lot more complicated than that.

"One unusual belief sufferers have is that very small amounts of contaminants can cover very large areas. For example, they may believe that a drop of blood or urine can somehow be spread to coat entire rooms, or even everything they own." - International OCD Foundation

People with OCD having contamination issues is a stereotype but if we know anything about other stereotypes (Such as the stereotype that gay men are high femme) plenty of people fit the stereotype yet are still valid. I personally didn't develop contamination issues with fecal matter until recently despite being able to trace my ocd symptoms back more than a decade.

Morality and religious OCD are extremely common. Here are some examples of both from OCDLA (souce, source) Which is why a lot of content on Tumblr is harmful to OCD people.

Also, reassurance is actually bad for folks with OCD. Which is extremely difficult but very important to know. I sometimes struggle to not reassure people with OCD, it feels cold and callus to say "I won't reassure you." And it would be to anyone else, but seeking reassurance is a compulsion. This is because of how OCD works. To ask for reassurance is often a compulsion for OCD people, it can and often does become addicting while not being helpful.

Which brings me to my next topic:

Compulsions and tics can be just about anything. They can involve counting, tapping, movements, arranging, checking. There is even "just right" OCD where something have to be repeated several times until it is "correct".

The most effective treatment for OCD is medication and ERP (Exposure and Response prevention) which seeks to stop the cycle at the Obsessive Thought and reduce anxiety and therefore stop compulsions. Which essentually trains you to not have as much of a physical reation to your intrusive thoughts. Which is also why statements like "being disturbed by your intrusive thoughts makes you a good person" are actually harmful and inaccurate.

"Unfortunately, with OCD, your brain tells you that you are in danger a lot, even in situations where you “know” that there is a very small likelihood that something bad might happen. This is one of the cruelest parts of this disorder.

Now consider that your compulsive behaviors are your attempts to keep yourself safe when that alarm goes off. What does that mean you are telling your brain when you engage in these behaviors? You are reinforcing the brain’s idea that you must be in danger. Birthday candles are the same as a blazing fire.

In other words, your compulsive behavior fuels that part of your brain that gives out these many unwarranted alarm signals. The bottom line is that in order to reduce your anxiety and your obsessions, you have to make a decision to stop the compulsive behaviors." - International OCD foundation.

Pure-O OCD also exists, which has more mental than physical conpulsions.

Important final note: Thought crimes are not real. Enforcing that they are actively harms people with OCD and no, you can't just say "unless they cause you distress!" because you can still be a decent person while reacting less and less to your intrusive thoughts as that is literally the goal of most pcd treatments. Thoughts are morally neutral.

i don't know what azula anti needs to hear this, but absolutely NO ONE who is worth listening to is seriously making the argument that azula hasn't done anything wrong, or that she's been the perfect child. what we are saying is that azula was a VICTIM of her fathers abuse and mistreatment by her mother, and that it heavily impacted her actions. yes ursa was in a bad situation, yes she was being abused by ozai, and yes she had very little personal liberties, but no matter how you spin it, that's no excuse to treat azula less favourably than zuko, nor is it an excuse to make azula feel unloved. the opinion that ursa can do no wrong and did no wrong to her children because she was abused is out of touch with the reality of what it's like to grow up in an abusive household. abuse is unfortunately a cycle and leads to EVERYONE in the household being negatively affected. this does not mean that anyone asides from the abuser is blameless for harm being done to children in the household.

azula understands that ursa was in a bad situation. she knows that her father was abusive. we see this in azula in the spirit temple. that does not, however mean that azula could not have been negatively affected by her mother's actions. azula was not born evil. she's a traumatized teenage girl with NO support system. she was left alone with her monster of a father from a young age and had to internalize all her struggles to survive. of course she can't manage relationships, and doesn't have healthy coping mechanisms. she has been groomed into being at her father's every beck and call. ursa treating azula differently from zuko and making her feel unloved from a young age, whether it was intentional or not, definitely made these issues exceptionally worse. when you have no one around you who genuinely makes you feel loved, and when the one person in your family that should have made you feel loved leaves, you're going to turn to the only source of it you can find (ozai, in this case), even if it means you act poorly or put yourself/others at risk.

ursa's parenting left azula traumatized, and i genuinely do think the reason many of you cannot understand that ursa did, in fact, make many mistakes is either because you are looking at ursa through the biased perspective we got in the show, or because you simply have not been in these circumstances in the past. abusive households are toxic to everyone. just because one parent is abusing everyone in the household, does not mean the other parent can't inflict harm, either. that doesn't make them any less of a victim, but it doesn't negate the devastating lifelong effects their behavior will have on their children.

was ursa in a good position to be a good parent? no. her situation is absolutely heartbreaking and i wish she had gotten to live an easier life. it is completely reasonable for her to struggle with parenting properly. you can't expect someone to take the best care of their children when they're in a terrible situation. does that excuse the impact she had on azula? no! not at all. while it's important to acknowledge how ursa's abuse influenced her behavior, ursa was not a good mother to azula and that is an objective fact. how do you see azula's breakdown at the end of the show, or her breakdown in The Search, or her visions in Azula in the Spirit Temple, and still think there was no issue with ursa's parenting? no child with a healthy relationship with their parents grows up with these feelings, let alone starts HALLUCINATING their parent haunting them. i won't even go into ursa forgetting her children and having kiyi because i think it's just absolutely ludicrous and completely inexcusable.

so many of the arguments against azula are textbook victim blaming. yes, azula conquering the earth kingdom and trying to kill people on behalf of her father was WRONG. no one thinks it wasn't! however, EVERYONE that should have helped azula FAILED HER. she is a product of her horrendous environment, and not acknowledging this while you grant a character like zuko, who unlike azula had people around him to support him, the benefit of the doubt when he acts out negatively for the EXACT SAME REASON without hesitation speaks for itself. no one is saying azula is a good person. no one is saying azula should not have been held responsible for her actions. what we're saying is that she is a person, not some evil caricature you can use to express whatever internalized biases you have. she has depth and should be treated as such. she is not some bogeyman you can levy your most heinous accusations towards.

on that note, please stop calling azula anything on the lines of psychotic, psychopath, sociopath, etc. you are showing how ignorant you are on mental health issues when you use these terms in this context.

Dang, I didn't realize you stopped writing ML analysis because some dweebs were raining on your parade and making fun of it. You wrote some of the best stuff looking at ML and I'm sorry jerks ruined that for you. Both you and this fandom have been robbed of something great because some people just can't let other enjoy things.

i mean there are a lot of reasons, both personal and fandom related. My work is very demanding, I had some traumatic shit that happened a few months ago I'm still processing, and my interests in fandoms go up and down over time, like right now it's pretty clear to see i'm more active in other fandoms besides ML.

But honestly the awful way the fans have been acting towards this season, not just in the way they rain on everyone's parade but also the way the bible and leaks have spread so far and wide. While that isn't the fandom's fault persay it's still awful. the fun of theorizing is gone when a bunch of people know what's going to happen, so naturally i just kinda stopped (then all the broadcasting bs that always bothers me ugh)

But I think the one thing this fandom hasn't seemed to realize is that it takes a lot of effort to write about this show, especially if you're an adult or a student who has other things going on. It's easy to leave a comment that hates on the analyses they write, and it's also easy for it to feel like a personal attack.

Think of it this way, so many people relate to Adrien and Mari, in so many ways. They can see themselves in them, even their faults and mistakes mean something. It feels incredibly validating for someone to be able to see that.

Take my Adrien has depression posts for example. Because I've had depression since I was younger than him and did a lot of the same masking behaviors he does, it meant so much to me. Here was a character who seemed to be going through what I was at the time and still struggle with today. It was so wonderful to see on screen because it felt like I was finally being seen. Or another example would be Mari's anxiety and ADHD which I also relate to so much, especially when it causes her to make some mistakes or handle things in the wrong way. It's classing anxiety-avoidance cycles, and seeing it on screen made me feel like I wasn't so alone. And I am sure so many other people felt the same way

And then there are people who go and say awful things about these characters on a post where you express those feelings. How Adrien is being a whiney baby or whatever bs they say, how his actions are a sign of him being selfish instead of all of the trauma and neglect he's experienced. Or how Mari's complex thinking patterns and behavior are relegated down to her being a stalker or a mary sue or what have you, once again completely ignoring the core complexity of her character as just a normal girl who was forced essentially to be a superhero. The pressures of which would be tremendous on anyone let alone someone with clear ND traits and traumatic experiences.

And people insult those fictional characters, so quickly and easily, without realizing the very real damage they are doing to the very real people who see themselves in them. I've talked so much about why I love sentiadrien because i can see some of my struggles in that storyline, and then to have people say that no it doesn't matter because my experiences aren't as important? that it's invalid because there's only one right way to experience trauma? that im wrong for finding solace in it? it's awful, and it puts me down.

i shouldnt be feeling invalidated when im watching my comfort show, i shouldn't spend days writing very careful posts only to get them shat on by insensitive comments. as much as i want to ignore them and focus on the good i do and the fun i get from it, it still feels like a stab through the chest every time.

and then there are the people who say i'm an awful therapist because they don't agree with my analyses. that's the worst, and while i won't go into details about why this particular statement brings me so much pain, i just need folks to understand that it's genuinely one of the worst insults i've ever had. and if everytime i write something i have second guess myself, and then second guess if i even have the skill and talent for the field i'm in, it just becomes a horrible spiral. people make these comments like they're the easiest thing in the world to say and it just boggles my mind, because although they may have forgotten their stupid little tag i certainly haven't. i hold them deep in that dark part of my brain where the whispers are loudest and hardest to control.

ultimately, the last few months i wanted to remind myself why i like this show and this website in the first place, and that i'm doing it for me. life is hard enough, if i can't have fun in the one place i can control then what's the point? so i will control my own experiences within this fandom, even if other's want to rain on it

Use unique ability

Although of course they can no longer use their powers and magic permanently, they continue to use their unique abilities. Albeit a little more subtle and without attracting attention… Some of them at least.

-I don't own the game or the characters-

James:

The fact that he can learn new things quickly and understands them after reading them once is a great benefit to him in this new situation. Within a few weeks, he manages to acquire a stable and well-founded knowledge of human behavior and general rules and laws. More than satisfied that he no longer has to just read books about warfare and running kingdoms, he continues to use his ability to delve into subjects that really interest him. The mere fact that he has the choice of which topic to deal with creates an inner peace in him. Even if he keeps stumbling over his own thoughts. Humans would be really easy to control. They are so unaware of the powers slumbering around them... As for summoning his weapon, James would use the ability anytime he or his brothers were truly in a threatening situation. Any of them would! No ifs and buts!

Erik:

His ability to enter and change or manipulate the dreams of others is particularly useful for his brothers in their new everyday life. Damien and Sam in particular are plagued by nightmares, but James and Matthew also have their fair share. The fact that Erik is able to give them the restful sleep they would like helps immensely. Even if he doesn't talk about it with his brothers, the others are really grateful that he changes their nightmares and above all that he never speaks out loud in front of the others about the problems they are struggling with in their sleep. Each of them will have the opportunity to return the favor to him. He still uses the purple ethereal tendrils he can summon to open and close doors or drawers, or move items from one point to another. Even if he is meticulous about only doing this when nobody can see him doing it. After all, he has no interest in causing a riot, because tendrils shoot out of nowhere. From time to time he also uses this to annoy his brothers by slapping a book out of James' hand without standing next to him, or even separating Sam and Matthew when they get into a fight over a computer game.

Sam:

Sam's unique abilities are shown in his strength and speed. Not necessarily skills he has to hide, at least not if you ask him. But his brothers, especially James, see things differently than he does. In order to adapt, he has to hold back a bit. And while he doesn't really like it, he at least makes an effort to control himself. Of course, he still uses his speed and strength regularly, but makes sure (sometimes more, sometimes less) that he doesn't get into the focus of curious people. When he's annoyed, he has more trouble suppressing and hiding his true powers. And if he clashes with a human? Then he does not guarantee for his own actions. He certainly won't let anyone get him down in terms of speed and strength. Humans are no match for him. Plus point, he can get energy that way, so why wouldn't he? James and Erik just have to do the damage control.

Matthew:

He doesn't really need to hide the fact that he has an innate ability to create objects, as he (unlike Sam) takes care never to be observed while doing so. He is very aware of the consequences it could have if it is revealed who they really are. Nonetheless, his ability is of great use to him in the human world, especially when it comes to small things that he can just create rather than buy. Of course, he also tries to create somewhat complicated objects from time to time. But no matter how many times he tries to build a mobile phone, for example, it always reminds one of a child's toy. Either it can make music when you press the buttons, or the display just shows an image. In order to develop technology, he probably needs to keep learning, but he will keep trying. Unnoticed by his brothers, of course, because he can do without stupid remarks that associate him with children's toys.

Damien:

He's definitely the one of the brothers most interested in not using his abilities and magic anymore. But he is also the one who succeeds the least. After all, he never learned to control his mind reading and even if he doesn't like it, he can't easily suppress his ability even if he wishes to. Presumably he uses this ability at the beginning when he cannot assign the voices or hears terms he is not familiar with more often than he would like. Although he doesn't like to admit that he can't read himself, his ability helps him to not draw attention to his perceived problem. He also helps his brothers unconsciously, because he has the possibility to see through human behavior by reading minds faster than mere observation can. In case of potential danger, he would use the shadows to get himself and his brothers to safety when fighting is not an option.
