Asshole. CS
TW: Dom! san, Sub! reader, Pillow humping, stepping, generally very derogatory and lowkey rude, possessiveness. Im gonna put this here cuz i dont know where else to but this is not an example of a healthy relationship, no it is toxic or abusive, it is implied that they are just two very different people who shouldnt be together.
Your relationship with San wasn't a good one. From the moment you two got together you have been arguing about every little thing, and while the good moments were absolutely perfect the bad was far worse. Many of your friends were surprised you were still together. But despite all the fighting and miscommunications, San was still the only man you could look at, and that was infuriating.
Honestly, the two of you had tried to break up multiple times, but each period wouldn't last more than a week, because nobody else knew you like the other. So inevitably you would find your way back to each other.
Tonight was one of the bad nights. Your mutual friend Yunho was throwing a huge party at his apartment. The trouble had started before you even arrived. The plan was to get ready at San's place at ride over together, but at the last moment, you had decided to get ready at your own home, simply because San always rushed you. You figured that this way he could leave whenever he was ready and so could you. However, San did not see it that way.
You had just stood up from your vanity, having just finished applying your makeup, but a text alert brought you back down to sit.
"Your impossible" was all it said. This made you scoff. It was from your boyfriend. San had always told you that you were too indecisive and flaky, that he never knew what you wanted and it made it impossible to please you. It was probably true, but he was not without faults himself so you still found it annoying.
You chose to leave him on read before making your way over to the party. You were still simmering with annoyance over his attitude while you drove. Eventually, you landed at Yunho's building. You don't know exactly how your friend was able to afford the place as it was pretty big for only him and his roommate, but it certainly allowed for fun gatherings.
You were buzzed up and not too long after you were at Yuhno's door. Only seconds after knocking, you could hear the music and talk from outside, the door swung open to reveal the tall man.
"Hey!" Yunho cried, pulling you in by your arm. Yunho rarely drank more than one or two beers at his party so he could keep everyone in line, so it wasn't a surprise when you found him still completely sober.
"I almost thought you weren't going to make it!" The tall man spoke swinging and arm over your shoulder for a side hug. You smiled into it.
"Yeah sorry, I was running a bit behind," was all you said.
"When San showed up without you I thought you had canceled," your friend spoke while pulling away from the hug.
"Yeah, well plans change" you replied. You had thought you hid the contempt well enough but Yunho knew you too well. He gave you a questioning look but you changed the subject.
"Where is he anyway? You asked. Yunho only pointed into the living room. Your mood only darkened. There were tons of people but you could still see your boyfriend clear as day sitting on the couch with at least three girls hanging off of him. This was one of your problems with San. No, he had never cheated on you, if they tried to kiss him he would push them away, if they made a suggestive comment he would brush them off, but of they flirted with him? He ate that shit up. He said that it shouldn't matter because at the end of the day your the one who gets to fuck him, but the fact he would just sit there and let them feed his ego was pissy as all hell.
You frowned deeply, not even trying to hide this one, and turned the opposite direction into the kitchen for a drink. You could feel the judgment coming of Yunho in waves, but he said nothing. When you reached the kitchen you found the first bottle of whatever and poured yourself a tall glass of whatever. You weren't about to let your boyfriend ruin your night, even after he ruined your mood. So you opted to ignore him all night.
It had been a while. After you finished your drink and allowed it to take effect you moved back into the pandemonium that was the living room. Here was the source of the music and the majority of the talking. You danced lazily to the music, not paying any attention to anyone just allowing yourself to unwind. The pounding base felt nice in your head and along with the buzz of the alcohol you were more than content.
Soon an arm slipped around your shoulders again. This time it was Mingi. Yunho's roommate. You weren't as close to him as Yunho but you could easily call him a friend.
"What's up?" You called over the music, stepping out of the dancing bodies to talk.
"Just coming to say hi, where's san?" He asked taking a little look around.
"Don't know don't care" you replied leaning against the wall. Mingi laughed a little.
"You two at it again?" He questioned with a quirk of the brow. You returned the laugh.
"Call it whatever you want, I don't want to talk to him tonight," Mingi sighed with a smile.
"You two are impossible," Mingi walked away after finishing his comment but his choice of words soured your mood again. You dared to look around for San. Once you found him it made it worse.
It seems like two of the girls had lost hope because the last one remaining was laying it on thick. She was sitting so close their legs were pressed together and her hand was dragging up and down his arm.
You scoffed and turned away before a thought hit you. If he was able to entertain other people then why can't you? With that idea in mind, you set out to find a cute boy to mess with.
It wasn't hard, within minutes of putting yourself out there a guy who clearly wasn't close enough with anyone here to know your situation had approached you in the hallway on your way to fill up your drink.
You both stood in the hallway against the wall for a bit, he was hopelessly eager so flirting with him was a breeze. Slowly you made your way into the living room once again and made yourself comfy with the new boy. No, you weren't as obvious as the girl hanging off your boyfriend, you were too good for that, but it was clearly enough to have him hanging on your every word. At some point, you glanced up and made eye contact with Yunho who only threw you a curious look but you only winked at went back to your nameless boy.
You spoke for a bit longer, playing into him as much as possible as he showered you with compliments. You were happily basking in the praise when a sudden presence made itself know in front of you. You turned, and low and behold, it was San.
His perfect features were screwed into a glare fixated on both you and the boy. You almost let your giggle show when you look behind his perfectly shaped body to see the girl he had been entertaining looking lost and confused exactly where he left her on the couch.
Your satisfied smirk must have shown on your face however because soon your boyfriend's cold fingers wrapped around your chin hold your chin up to face him. He crouched down so you two were eye level.
"You think this is funny?" He asked in a dangerous tone. He only used this voice when he meant business but tonight you were standing your ground.
"Very funny," you replied, managing to hold your smirk even with his hand clamped on your cheeks.
"What the fuck man? Let her go," the boy finial voiced only after recovering from the shock of the scene before him. He reached out to pull Sans hand away before you stopped him.
"You can leave now," you said, not looking away from San. (not like you could) but still very clearly talking to the boy. You could hear the confusion in the silence. Before he spoke again.
"Wait what?" He asked stupidly.
"You can go, I'm done with you for now," you spoke.
"Wait this is crazy what are you-"
This time San in all his severe and intimidating glory turned to the boy and cut him off.
"Hey dick head, I think my girlfriend told you to leave us alone." He spoke with an edge. Having finally got the message the boy got up and left. And San's piercing gaze returned to you again, his hand finally dropping to let his forearm resting on his knee.
"So I'm your girlfriend now?" You asked with contempt. Crossing your arms, and swinging one leg over the other.
"Oh shut up" San replied scoffing.
"I'm just wondering if you told those girls that, that you have a girlfriend. Or maybe it's that you did but they just didn't care because clearly, you enjoyed all the attention they were giving you" the words rattled out of you in quick succession.
"Clearly you're broken up about it. Throwing yourself at any guy who will give you the time of day," he spits back, "if I remember correctly you were the one who didn't want to come together as a couple," he reminded in a scathing tone.
"Only because you are a controlling asshole," you spat back equally as resentful.
"And you're a paranoid drama queen I guess we all have our problems." He shot back. Eyes narrowing even more.
"Well maybe if you have such a problem with it I should go find that guy and fuck him. If I am so annoying then how about I go be someone else's problem!" you almost screamed at him beath heaving slightly when you finished. San stared at you unreadable for a moment.
He stood abruptly, taking you roughly by the arm and pulling you to your feet. He wordlessly dragged you through the crowd.
"San what the fuck let go!" You tried to pull free but failed. Moments later san had dragged you into Yunho's room and slammed it shut before locking it. Your boyfriend turned to you with eyes darker than you had ever seen.
"Never fucking say that again." He spoke dangerously calm. He took two quick steps twords you before slamming his lips onto yours. You reacted quickly, returning the kiss with as much anger as you could. Yeah, you wanted him to fuck you, but you weren't about to let him forget how pissed off you were.
In moments your dress had been pulled over your head and you were pushed onto the bed and Sans body trapped you there. He reconnected your lips. Your kiss was anything but sweet, your teeth were clacking and your lips were swollen. San pulled back once or twice to bite at your bottom lip and pull before it snapped back into place. His hand wound its way into the roots of your hair and yanked.
With your head now pulled away and a dull ache radiated out from your head you groaned and rolled your hips into his feeling him harden through your underwear.
"Your such a needy slut." he spoke with venom while nipping and sucking at your neck, determined to leave as many visible marks as possible.
"Like you aren't?" You scoffed running your nails down his forearms, leaving your own mark on him.
"Shut the fuck up. Do I need to remind you whos in charge here?" He punctuated this with a particularly hard bite on your shoulder. You winced.
"No, I can tell there's no need. I just need to remind you whos slut you are don't I?" He asked in a patronizing tone. "Because your all mine baby, and I am not going to let you forget it."
In a moment he flipped your bodies over and pushed you off him to stand on your own feet in front of where he sat on the bed. You stumbled a little in the process and had to brace yourself on his shoulders. He looked at you unimpressed.
Your arms crossed and your brow furrowed.
"Strip" he commanded easily. You were only in your bra and panties but clearly this was too much for his fully clothed self. You glared.
"You first," you said indignantly. After a beat and a long stare San's hand shot out and clenched your ass hard. You couldn't help the yelp that escaped you.
"Unless you want me to spank you so hard your ass turns purple you should start undressing." He let go of you.
You knew he would keep to that promise so you slowly began to unhook your bra.
"Don't keep me waiting" he spoke in a warning.
You pulled the garment off your shoulders and slid your panties down.
"Finally you learned how to behave" he spoke with indignation. You humpfted unhappily.
"Does my slut, want me to touch her?"
"I think that much is clear," you mumbled.
"Speak up," he demanded.
"Yes!" You groaned. He glared at you for a moment.
"I don't think you deserve it," he replied. Instead, he reached behind himself and grabbed one of Yunho's pillows, and tossed it at your feet.
"You want to get off? Use that." Your stomach filled with dread.
"There is no way I'm doing that," you said, trying to convince yourself as much as him.
"Then I guess your not cumming tonight" he spoke flatly, staring you down. You stared at him in disbelief.
"Go on," he insisted. You felt your resolve slip as the ache in your core grew. Slowly but surely you knelt down and straddled the pillow. In the moments you sat down you were already dreading this. It was far too soft and smooth to gain any kind of fiction without some serious work. You already felt humiliated without having done anything yet.
"Look at me," San directed from the bed. Your pink face turned to look at him. He looked damn good as always, practically glowing in the bedroom haze. You couldn't help but clench the plush between your thighs. One more expectant look from San made you move.
After the first drag of your pussy against the pillow you almost cried at the lack of sensation. It was unfair how little feeling you got from it. But in San's eyes, you could see that that was exactly what he was looking for, the desperation.
You began moving your hips again. You were rutting your pussy against the pillow as fast as you could chasing the tiny bit of relief that came each time. You were already panting from all the work, grunting each time your clit dragged against the too soft fabric.
Slowly the pleasure was starting to build and you could feel the wetness pouring out of you dampening the cushion bellow you. Now that it was wet the material was a bit rougher so you got a little more of the friction you desired. Your eyes meet your boyfriend's dark gaze.
"Not so big now are you? Humping a pillow just because I told you to. Acting like my good little slut. Whose slut are you?" The filth spewed out of Sans mouth leaving you breathless, you were hesitant to admit defeat so you stayed silent. After a beat, Sans boot lifted from where it was planted on the carpet and dug into your thigh dangerously close to your sopping pussy. You whined as he stilled your movements. He pushed you down by your thigh keeping you immobilized on the pillow.
"I said, who's slut are you?" He asked in the sickest sweetest voice, leaning down slightly forcing the eye contact you wanted to break. When his boot dug even harder into you, stinging in the process you finally felt your resolve crumble.
"I'm your slut," you said barely above a whisper.
"Didn't quite catch that babe," he encouraged.
"I'm your slut," the words came out much more forceful this time to the point you almost shouted it. As soon as they were out of your mouth you burned in shame, looking away from the growing smirk on his face.
"All mine," the words slipped out almost absentmindedly. He reached out at cupped your burning cheeks and titled your head up.
"Come here baby,"
You obeyed him eagerly. Your hips ached a bit from the exertion but you stood perfectly still and waiting in front of him. San eyed your body up and down, reaching out to feel up every inch of you. He took special care to play with your thighs, messaging them in his strong hands for a moment. You keened happily in his touch, letting him play with you however he wanted. It helped some to ease the burn but that wasn't his goal. His hand slipped between your legs and slid between your folds.
You realized a shaky moan in response, almost jumping away as you were still so sensitive. But you stayed put.
"My little slut is being so good, letting me toy with her pussy like this." He cooed at you, fueling your blushing face. His finger ran up and down your most sensitive area sometimes stopping to pinch your clit or cup your heat entirely, but never slip inside. That he was avoiding. You felt so empty knowing he was right there, so close to filling you up but still not doing it.
You whined wantonly.
"What's wrong sweetheart," he smirks at you.
"San, please fill me up?" You begged.
"My baby wants to get fucked like a slut?" He asks, one finger prodding your hole but still not entering. You cried out in desperation.
"Yes! Yes please!"
"OK baby," he finally replied in a soothing tone, but the retracting hand made you quiver, you were so needy but you had yet to be given any kind of release and it was killing you.
"Hands and knees, baby"
You scrabbled onto the bed to do as you were told, presenting your ass to him as well as you could with a slight arch to your back. You could hear his low chuckle behind you. You felt him stand up momentarily and heard the familiar sound of a belt buckle to show he was finally undressing. You wanted to look at him so bad but you didn't want to take even the slightest risk right now.
Finally, he climbed onto the bed behind you, cupping your ass tenderly in both hands with a small squeeze.
"So pretty, and it's all mine" you heard him speak. You mumbled in agreement with a nod. You breathed heavily in anticipation, waiting to finally feel something.
In one unexpected movement, San sheathed his cock into you. Your cries were so loud you were sure they could be heard over the pending music in the next room, but you didn't care. It felt so nice to be full.
San was never one for preamble so it only took a moment for him to start to pound his cock into you at an inhuman pace. The sound of the music was now being completely drowned out by the cries from you, the grunts from San, the slapping skin, and the obscene wet sound coming from your pussy.
San knew his way around your body so well, it only took a moment for him to find that special spot inside you that had you spiraling, your front half collapsed onto the bed, muffling the sounds coming out of you. It only lasted a second though before a rough grip took hold on the back of your head. San yanked you up by your hair keeping your mouth free to spew filth.
The pain in your scalp returned as your boyfriend leaned down to whisper in your ear through his own panting breath, still nailing into your hole.
"Don't you dare, keep your head up and let them hear just how much of a slut you are for me." He spoke deadly serious. Your reply was a loud cry of his name that echoed around the room.
His focus returned to fucking you to tears, which is about where you were as you felt the first pricks of wetness in the corners of your eyes.
San was speaking again,
"Whos are you baby? Tell me who is it that's fucking you this good?" He practically shouted the words at you, his cock was sliding deliciously in and out so quickly that before you could even register his pull out he was slamming back in dragging your walls as he went pulling even more wetness out with each thrust. Your eyes were rolling back but you answered somewhat absently.
"Yours San, all yours" after the words left your mouth the first time you couldn't seem to stop, constantly spewing the word "yours" over and over again. San began repeating his reply as well with a little more force,
"All mine."
San removed his hand from your hair but you kept your head up however difficult it was when he was fucking you like that. Instead, both of your boyfriend's hands took hold of your waist, and with this newfound grip, he was pulling you back to meet his thrusts. Each push now had even more force behind it and you could feel your release fast approaching.
"San-" you tried to speak but lost the words in your mouth.
"I know baby, my little cockslut is going to cum all over me isn't she?" You cried out your affirmation when your words failed you.
"Go ahead sweetheart, cum while a fill your pussy up even more."
You finally came and came hard. It was by the will of God you kept yourself upright as your orgasm washed over you, especially with San still keeping pace although it began faltering as his orgasm crashed around him. You felt the sticky cum shoot into you in ropes coating your inner walls, making your orgasm even more fulfilling.
After a moment San stops moving. You could feel him begin to soften inside you but you were still clenching hopelessly against him. Your arms finally gave way and you came crashing down. San kneeled above you catching his breath before falling onto the bed beside you. He dared to pull you close to observe your face.
A sudden smirk arose on his perfect features.
"I won,"
"You asswipe."

Tumblr media
You knew it was coming, you both did. New reports, articles, it was trending on all social media platforms. It was unavoidable, what could you do but waste away your last few days, watching old shows you watched as a kid, harsh knocks and cries from your doors from friends and family. You couldnt face them, you just wanted to drown out the thought of what was coming the next few hours of the day.
You had woken up and sluggishly dragged yourself from the comfort of your bed to your dirty kitchen, littered with dirty dishes and some uneaten food that youd try to make, but didn't have the stomach to eat. Your phone rang atleast every hour or two, many unanswered calls and long voicemails you couldnt bother to listen to.
There was a knock on your door, and you sighed, not wanting to bother with facing the person at the door. You turned on your heels, about to head to your room when you heard the voice call out to you.
"y/n."
Out of all the people why did it have to be him. You bit your lip and let out shaky breaths. You took another step, freezing at another set of knocks. The last persom you wanted to see was your boyfriend.
"y/n let me in or ill tear this door down." His voice was stern, laced with seriousness and slight concern. You wanted to open it, let him in and crumble into his arms, but it hurt so bad.
"Go away." You spoke, loud enough to be heard through the door, but not loud enough to be a yell.
"y/n."
You hesitantly walked to the door, unlocking the bottom lock, the top lock remaining unlocked, too bothersome for you to have delt with anyways. At the sound of the click of the locks he opened the door with quick motions, while also being careful not to knock you over.
At the sight of his big frame you felt like the world had just stabbed you through the chest 28 times. You backed up with quick steps are your boyfriend reached out to hug you, scared that his touch would break down your facade. You tripped over your own feet, landing hard on your butt.
"Ush.. Ushijima," you started, not knowing exactly what you were trying to say, "Please dont touch me."
His heart sank when he saw you, lifeless and so frail. He guessed you havent been getting much sleep- or maybe too much sleep, and not eating as he took a quick glance towards the food littered kitchen counter.
It wasnt any better for you, seeing your normally cold and calm boyfriend with a worried expression and eye bags that made it obvious he hasnt got much sleep either.
You pull yourself up, your eyes boring through your boyfriends abdomen as you bit your lip, trying to think of what to say, and to also keep yourself from falling apart. "What do you want?"
"y/n. Dont be cold to me." It wasnt a question, but it wasnt a demand. "Sorry," you mumbled, leaving you two in silence for a while.
"Ushi, you should go home," you said, feeling your heart race, every second you spent in his presence, under his gaze, killed you. "You should call Tendou or something."
"Toshi." He said, making your head shoot up, looking him in his eyes, seeing a tear roll down his cheek, his face remaining mostly emotionless, fear slightly present in his eyes. "Please keep calling me Toshi."
You felt a pang in your heart, suddenly the reality of things hitting you. You were the only one going through this, you knew this but never gave it more than a mere thought. He was scared, he didnt know what he was doing, he just knew to find comfort in you, like youve told him to for many years into your relationship.
"Toshi," you breathed, reaching up to wipe the tear from his cheek, "Toshi lets go somewhere."
You never felt the need to go outside, wanting to be isolated, but being here with your boyfriend, you felt like running away, wanting to escape from the dark pit of your home. "Lets go to the beach"
"y/n–"
"Lets go. Lets go, right.. right now Toshi," you felt as if though youve felt shoked by lightning, like you suddenly got hit with some sugar rush.
"We dont have time–"
"We do Toshi, we do, we do," you saw the corner of his lips raise up into a small smile. He hated seeing you like this but he was glad you were more alive than you were minutes before. You knew this, what he was thinking, and you knew his smile had so much sadness behind it, "we have time, lets go, lets go!"
You grabbed his hand and dragged him out of your apartment, not bothering to change from your days out clothing or close the door behind you. It wouldnt matter in another hour anyways.
The ride there was mostly silent, songs playing quietly on the radio. You watched as you passed through the town, the streets were slightly empty, stores looked run down, some stores even tore up and empty.
"Has it been like this since.. since the announcement?" You mumbled, earning a hum for Ushijima.
"Yeah, yeah it has." He knew that you didnt go out, and he was slightly grateful for it. The world went to shit after the announcement, many lootings, murders and other various crimes being commited.
"Im glad your safe Toshi," you spoke into your palm.
"Im glad your safe too."
The ride went on in silence until you got to the beach. You both climbed out of the car, the beautiful blue sea sparkling under the sunny sky. It was funny how such a depressing day could look so so beautiful.
"Hmm, this is the beach we went to with the team our senior year, remember?" He asked and turned to face you. The fear in his eyes was much more evident in the light, along with signs of personal neglict. He hasnt been taking good care of himself either.
You walk around the front of the car to grab his hand, your small hands tracing light circles on his rough palms before linking your hands together, giving him a comforting squeeze. "I remember."
He let out a shaky breath he didnt know he was holding in, and you two found a nice spot on the beach to sit and watch the sky. "Toshi, do you remember the time goshiki got gummy bears stuck in his nose?"
He looked at you, and his face softened, "yeah. Yeah i do." He let out a small chuckle at the thought of his old teammates. "Do you remember when Tendou took my water bottle and filled it with really sour lemonade?" He asked, you could hear his voice unravel into a more comfortable tone, instead of one holding in so much hurt and fear.
"Ha, i actually helped him with that you know?" You spoke up, a small grin on your lips as your boyfriend grabbed your waist, pulling you closer to him. "We'll its okay, because it was 2 years ago."
It had been 2 years. 2 years since you had become shiratorizawas manager, 2 years since you made the number 1 ace fall head over heels for you, 2 years since you had went on your first date with him.
"2 years, its been so long." You laid your head on Ushijimas arm, feeling tired. He wrapped his arm around your shoulders and placed a kiss atop your head.
"Thats when we first started dating," you spoke, shoulders shaking with a small laugh, "i would've never imagined to have the nations number 1 ace fall so madly in love with me." You laughed and turned to your boyfriend to continue your teasing, but stopped when you saw him looking back at you.
He couldn't respond with anything more than a mere chuckle, tears now streaming down his cheeks. You bit your lip, scooting closer to him so you were in his lap, wrapping your arms around his large stature.
"Toshi, I love you." It was no more than a whisper and he placed a warm, loving kiss to your temple, rubbing your back softly as he let out a shaky laugh.
"y/n god, you make it so hard not to cry." He whispered in an unstable tone, resting his head atop yours. "I love you too."
This was how it was, clinging to the other and sharing old tales of your days spent with Ushijima and the boys, tales of times tendou had snuck out of the dorms and got caught by washijou, or when goshiki cut his bangs too short, or how Ushijima brought your parents a half eaten watermelon as a gift.
Those last moments spent with laughs and tears, kisses and hugs, warmth and comfort, those were your best memories. Despite the fate to cross you, Ushijima and everyone else in the world, you felt like you could smile for the first time.
You would smile alot, but it felt different this time. You convinced yourself that it was just because you had been withering away for the past days, but you knew it was because you felt free.
You had no worries in the moment with your lover, you didnt need to think about getting up for work the next day, or how you would afford next months rent. You felt like the largest weight had been lifted off of you, and you could really smile for the first time.
There was a slightly rumble if the ground that had made you and Ushijima go silent. You pulled away from your spot in the crook of his neck to look at him, fear still in his eyes.
"I dont wanna die," he chuckled out, "but im not sad." He drew small shapes into your hips with his thumbs, looking onto your laps instead of your face, and you just stared at him.
His usually stoic face was calmed, relaxed, his jaw unclenched and his eyes soft. You hadnt seen so many emotions from your boyfriend so much, it was almost scary. But he looked so gorgeous, he was your world.
"Wakatoshi Ushijima, you know," your placed your hands on both sides of his face, "it doesnt matter what happens to this world, because," you placed a passionate kiss to his lips, the tears finally falling from your eyes, "you, you're my world Toshi."
He let out a noise that was similar to a choke, tears rolling down the apple of his cheeks as he placed his forehead to yours, letting his shoulders shake with hard sobs. Loud crashes, screams and car alarms had let you know it was coming, the end of the world.
The last thing you saw was Ushijima, smiling snd crying, mouthing out one last 'I love you'.
Why does the end of the world look so beautiful?

can i request some angstyyyyy stuff because iM a suCkEr for pAiN me→🤡 how would the brothers (separately) react to their s/o finding out they cheated on her and she breaks up with them and how it goes down and their regrets(?) how/why they cheated and if they did it on purpose and if it meant anything thankkkssyouu🥺
The Brothers cheating on MC
I hope you like this one, I couldn’t do angst for Asmo he doesn’t deserve it!
 Lucifer
It’s like his world suddenly turned to ice, his stomach dropped to his feet when he opened his eyes and saw you staring at him.
His words were stuck in his throat as he saw you turn and run away into the crowd.
It had been a stupid dare and he was drunk, Diavolo had dared him to kiss one of the cute witches that were at the party and he had against his better judgment.
Things had heated up with that kiss, her hands looping around his neck and his tongue being pushed down her throat.
His shame hit him like a cold bucket of ice water, waking him from his drunken state.
“MC! Wait!” He raced after you wanting to reach you and tell you it was all a stupid mistake and he didn’t mean any of what happened.
He found you outside in Diavolo’s garden, crying all by yourself in the cold.
Your sobs were like slashes against his heart, he caused this. He did this by being unfaithful to you.
He knew nothing he said to you now would make up for his betrayal and the humiliation he caused you.
He knew it would take some time to win you back after this and he was a patient demon.
He watched you from afar and decided breakfast in bed tomorrow was a good start as any, for now, he’d make sure you had some space while you processed the emotions.
Mammon
It had been constant fighting at the house, mainly between you and him.
He wasn’t sure what had been happening but your relationship was facing a fight after fight, after fight.
You felt sensitive because he wouldn’t stop calling you lowly human and asking you for money constantly. He felt annoyed because it felt like you were getting closer to his brothers and kept taking their side in their fights with him. Both of your insecurities had been bubbling over into passive-aggressive behaviour, snide remarks, and quick bitter arguments. He felt like you didn’t care about him anymore and decided he’d try to stop loving you back.
That’s why he found himself spilling all of his complaints about you to the cute, sweet witch who summoned him. She seemed different than the other times she summoned him, she calmed him down and was nurturing. She also seemed to support his side of the argument which you of lately scarcely did.
So when she moved in on him and kissed him, he didn’t exactly push her away.
When she suggested he spend the night, the next day and The next evening with her he couldn’t say no.
Until he caught her trying to cut him up then this little tryst was over.
He finally returned to the Devildom feeling stupid and angry, when you greeted with tears in your eyes asking where he had vanished to he felt terrible.
You did care about him and there he was returning from his cheating session where he had been bad-mouthing you constantly.
He knew this would turn out badly but he regretted his actions as soon as he saw your face. He came clean.
Your biggest fight yet happened, you shouted, screamed and cried so much you lost your voice and nearly got sick.
He pleaded for forgiveness and tried to explain himself but you were having none of it.
You decided to stay locked up in your room for the rest of the week and were ignoring his calls, bangs at your door and when he tried to talk to you at dinner.
He was broken inside and wished he could turn back time and stop himself from messing up.
Levi
To say your relationship was perfect with Leviathan would be accurate.
You guys respected each other’s interests, you did everything together and you were each other’s hype men and supporters.
So when Levi started a new online RPG game, invited you to play with him and you died immediately every time you restarted he tried to bite his tongue. There were plenty of things you were good at and this just wasn’t one of them.
Soon you said screw it and decided to stop playing altogether, he met a new player who sent him a friend request.
They followed Levi, helping him out during quests and sending him gifts so he sent his Devilcord name. They talked over voice chat while they played and he often forgot you were even in the room.
He was always chatting to his new friend, laughing at their jokes and complimenting them.
You felt like a third wheel and your boyfriend wasn’t making things better when he shouted out that he loved this new friend more than anything in the world after they defeated the mega boss together.
He didn’t even realise you left the room crying, you guys had been together for months now and he had not told you he loved you once.
He told everyone at breakfast that his friend was coming over to visit him that night so they all should stay out of his way.
Levi rushed past you when there was a knock at the door that night and who was waiting there but a pretty succubus in a tight low cut top, her hands were immediately on Levi’s arms and she pressed her body against his.
He didn’t stop her or even blush!
He led her to his room and closed the door, you entered after a few minutes and found her giving him a kiss on the lips after he defeated a boss.
You left slamming the door as you stomped to your room.
Guilt flooded Levi, he didn’t know you were there and didn’t know why the succubus was kissing him.
He pushed her off and told her to get out.
He pounded on your door begging you to let him explain, the door flew open and he was met with your tear-streaked face.
It was like he was stunned, you told him the kiss was just the tip of the iceberg of his cheating, he had not just cheated on you physically but emotionally too.
After being cussed out by you, he went to his room and locked himself in there, not playing a single game or checking out any new anime’s. He felt he didn’t deserve to after what he did to you.
He wallowed in his self-pity and stopped coming out to eat meals because he couldn’t face you.
Satan
He had high standards and lately, it seemed you weren’t measuring up.
Things you did he once called cutely were not apparently embarrassing for him.
He called you from RAD and said, unfortunately, he had to cancel your date to the art museum that night, for the fourth time this month. He said he had to go to the human world for an event.
Well you decided you could go to the art museum without Satan, so when you arrived and saw a tall blonde demon with his arm draped around the waist of some curvy succubus, you tried to brush off your suspicions.
That is until you heard his familiar laugh. You decided to spy on him for a bit.
He led her around the museum, laughing at her jokes, telling her that she was more beautiful than the art on the wall.
You felt like crying but when you saw her go to the bathroom you decided to confront him.
“Hey what the hell is wrong with you? You canceled our dates to hang out with her!” You were going to let him have it.
“Oh MC, well I guess my messages have not been getting through to you, MC I’m sorry you caught me like this but things haven’t been working out between us and I found someone I’d rather spend my time with.”
He seemed slightly annoyed and embarrassed when you started crying.
“I guess I’ll see you at The House of Lamentation, MC.” He marched off and joined his date leaving you alone.
Enjoying the night without you.
Asmo
The Avatar of Lust was someone who you did not expect to be monogamous but he said he’d give it a shot for you.
That promise lasted 3 weeks.
You came home and followed to the loud moans and screams of delight to his room and walked in on him in the midst of an orgy.
When he spotted you he didn’t even seem embarrassed, he just smiled and gestured for you to join.
Instead, you ran to your room and stayed locked in there for hours.
You heard a knock at the door and saw it slowly open, Asmo stood in his nightgown and held two face masks and a pleading guilty smile.
“MC-“He started but you turned so your back was to him. He let out a low giggle.
“Look, I love you MC, I have a great time with you. You understand me and make me feel special. You’re supportive and kind and I just love everything about you. But I can’t be in a closed relationship, I only having romantic feelings for you my love but as the Avatar of Lust, I need to be sexual with others. I hope you understand and we can make this work. If you want to continue and talk I’ll be in my room.”
He left the face mask on your bedside and closed your room door after he left.
Would you be able to share him with others in such an intimate way?
He did make you feel special, loved, supported and he was always taking you as his plus 1 to every event. He gave you special beauty treatments, took you shopping for anything you wanted from clothes, jewelry, and desserts. You were a permanent feature on his Devilgram none of his love-making buddies made it on thereafter he was done with them.
You looked at the face mask and made up your mind.
Beel
It was your anniversary at Devils Kitchen, Beel had been raving about this steak he was eating, he practically inhaled the thing.
He said he’d never tasted something like that before it was like his dream meal.
So when the waiter dropped off complimentary desserts from the chef who made Beel’s steak and was told the chef wanted to meet Beel after he was done, you tried to brush off your feelings of jealousy.
When you met the cute succubus who seemed to instantly connect with Beel, you swallowed your words and plastered on a smile.
The next day when you were meant to hit the gym with Beel you found him in the kitchen with the Chef, they were laughing together making chocolate truffles and feeding it to each other.
“Ah, what’s going on here Beel?’ you said interrupting their giggling session.
“Oh MC! You’ll never believe it, my new friend here just invited me to this great food tasting event in the next town. I’ll be away for a week” The “new friend” gave you a cold fake smile that told you exactly what you needed to know about their intentions.
Well you trusted Beel and wished him well on the trip, I mean it took him a while to open up with you and a place filled with food would mean he wouldn’t be interested in this succubus.
On his second night, you got a call, it was Beel. His voice sounded depressed and strangled.
“MC, I’m sorry. I messed up, I didn’t mean for this to happen! It was an accident I swear.”
Tears pricked your eyes, “Please tell me you ate all the food at the event.” You managed to push out.
“Oh MC…I’m sorry we were getting along and it was late. Suddenly we were kissing. It didn’t mean anything though I only want you-”
You hung up, you hoped that he would stay away for the rest of the week so you could cry in peace.
You tore up your couple pictures and sobbed yourself to sleep.
He came back home the next day but you pretended not to hear or see him.
He was aching inside he wanted to make it up to you, show you it was just a mistake. He didn’t mean it.
Belphie
He had been colder towards you recently, Lilith’s birthday was soon and all of his human phobic feelings were coming back up.
He had been trying to provoke you and hurt you, taking out his frustrations on you.
Nothing had made you break though, you just kept telling yourself and him that you’d be there for him and support him whenever he wanted to talk or just be held.
He felt like you were provoking him, pushing him to hurt you by responding the way you were.
So he took it further he found some random succubus and called her to dinner in front of everyone. He put her on his lap and would not stop kissing her and complimenting her. He looked right at you when he was doing this.
He had a sickly smile when you left the table in tears but seeing you like that he felt terrible.
He told the succubus to get out and knocked at your door.
He told you to open the door or he’d break it down, you unlocked it and he came inside.
“Look Belphie, I’m on your side. I thought that since we were together we’d work things out together but tonight it was too much. You went too far.”
“MC, I’m sorry I was being an ass for no reason, I tried to hurt you. It seems like I can’t stop hurting you. I’m sorry I should just go.”
He knew he was being stupid and he knew to hurt you was wrong but he did it anyway and for what.
He regretted his choices but decided it was best if he left you alone, he didn’t deserve you anyway.

It's fairly early when you leave your home for college, around 7am something. The air around you is still fairly crisp and cool, but you're not bothered. Others would be shaking if they went outside in just skinny jeans and a simple sweater when it's 0°C outside.
But you? You're not bothered in the slightest as you calmly walk down the street and towards the giant building.
It's metallic cover reflects the sunlight, slightly blinding you in the process. It makes you squint and avert your eyes.
"Y/N!"
Your head turns in the direction of the call and you see your best friend jogging towards you with a bright grin. "Oh, hey."
"Good morning!" He beams, way too enthusiastic for your liking at this hour.
A demonstrative yawn escapes you as you lazily wave at him. "Morn'..." You mumble and wipe the tears out of your eyes which gathered due to your yawn.
"Aren't you gonna give your bestie a hug?" He pouts and his dimples make an appearance. "I'm disappointed."
A chuckle escapes you before you turn towards him completely and give him his desired display of affection.
A happy sigh escapes him as he tightly slings his arms around you. "I'm never letting you go, it's too cold!" He whines when you move to break the hug.
"Wear warmer clothes then, you buffoon." You mumble, struggling to push him away and ultimately just giving up.
"Nahh, why would I do that when I have my personal heater right under my nose?" He teases.
"Shut up and let me go, we have classes soon." You whine and push at his chest again.
He relents with a high pitched laugh as he watches you stumble back, his arms letting go easier than expected and making you lose your balance for a few seconds.
"You fucker" You hiss while taking big, fast steps towards your destination.
"My baby! Don't be mad!" Your friend whines while jogging to match your pace.
"It's not even 8 yet and the two of you are already having a quarrel." A new voice joins the two of you.
Startled by the sudden intervention, you whip your head to pinpoint the source and find another guy of your friend group.
"Sangyeon? Where did you come from?" You ask, eyes moving up to meet his.
"You must have forgotten that I always meet you at this section in the road, tsk." The older one answers and shakes his head.
"Sorryyyy" You say with a chuckle, "but Changmin here decided to be an ass first thing in the morning! It's his fault"
"HUH??" The culprit screeches in surprise, "Excuse me??"
"Be quiet you two, I don't need a headache right before classes."
"Sorryy" Changmin and you chime in unison, "dad." the former adds and snickers, earning himself a glare from Sangyeon.
The three of you continue on the rest of the way in silence and you couldn't be more grateful. Your mind is not yet in the right place for any intellectual conversation.
The enormous college building towers in front of you all as you reach the campus.
"Ohh look, the others are already here!" Changmin happily points out, proceeding to skip towards said friend group.
Sangyeon and you exchange an amused glance before also walking towards them.
"Morning everyone." You wave at the guys and they all greet you back.
"Y/N my love!" Your other best friend exclaims and jumps to hug you, "I'm so glad you're finally here! Please warm me up, I'm freezing!"
The other guys laugh at their youngest friend's antics, you included. Nonetheless you proceed to hug him around his middle and make use of your powers. Your skin immediately heats up to a nice and cozy temperature and the guy hums in relief.
"You're such a baby." You chuckle and pat his broad back affectionately.
"Classes start in about 10 minutes, we can go inside now."
"Oh, look who decided to show up." Sangyeon teases.
"What? Why would I show up half an hour before classes?" Said newcomer replies. "I can take all the time I need, unlike you guys~"
"Stop being arrogant, Hyun." The oldest playfully scolds.
"Now now, don't fight." Jacob intervenes, voice clearly expressing his worry.
"Hold on, what class do we have now?" You suddenly realize and look up to meet Sunwoo's eyes.
"Uhh I'm pretty sure it's chem." He replies, now looking at Younghoon for confirmation.
"Yeah" he nods. "We should go, it's all the way on the top floor of the building."
Sunwoo and you groan in unison, totally not thrilled on having to walk up 10 flights of stairs.
"I actually also have chemistry, but in another course." Jaehyun says, "It's on the same floor though."
The three of you guys look at your friend with hope.
"Urgh, fiiine." He groans, already knowing exactly what you were all going to ask of him.
"Yay!" You beam happily and peel yourself away from Youngjae. "Sorry hun but you gotta get inside quickly to stay warm I guess."
He grumbles something inaudible and you immediately attach yourself to Jaehyun's arm instead and give him a smile. "You're the best, Hyunnie!"
He can't help the amused smile to crawl onto his lips. "I know."
You hear Sunwoo make a gagging sound, prompting you to laugh. "Let's go now."
"Sure, sure." Jaehyun hums and within a second the four of you are up on the top floor.
"Thank you~" You happily chime and stand on your tiptoes to press a quick kiss to the man's cheek. Then you turn around, link arms with Sunwoo and Younghoon and drag them into your chemistry classroom with a content smile on your face.
Both men exchange a glance at that interaction and internally behead Jaehyun for having his useful ability.
When Sunwoo turns his head to look at the older guy, Jaehyun shows him a priggish smirk and waves before disappearing.
"He really-"
"Good morning you three!" Your teacher greets and Sunwoo immediately stiffens, startled by the voice. "Class starts in 5 minutes, find your seats!"
"Yes ma'am!" The three of you reply and give a quick bow before scurrying to your seats.
"Miss Im is so scary…" Younghoon shudders and you nod.
Your teacher had given the class an experiment to work on in groups of three. Funnily enough, a student had broken one of the school's bunsen burners, so now your group was without one.
"Great, just great" Miss Im angrily says under her breath.
"Miss" You say and raise your hand. She looks at you and nods. "I can use my power instead for fire-"
"Under no circumstance will you do that!" She immediately shoots down your idea and raises her voice. "What if you set fire to something in here? You could hurt us!"
You don't know what to say, feeling at a loss for words at her sudden outburst. Sunwoo and Younghoon notice your shaking hands and glare at the teacher.
"Did you really have to lash out at her like that? She just suggested it!" Sunwoo angrily replies and stands up from his chair, smacking the table. "We all here have been living with our powers ever since we were 5! We have them under control! Y/N would never hurt someone on purpose!"
Younghoon had hugged you close to calm your anxiety down while everyone just watched and listened to Sunwoo's outburst.
Then it was quiet for a moment, Miss Im too stunned to say anything back and the rest of the class only agreed with him.
Sunwoo was quite literally charged, you could see little lightning bolts dancing all over him.
"Sunwoo…" You quietly say and he looks at you. "It's okay."
He takes a deep breath and shoots the teacher another sharp glare.
She clicks her tongue angrily and just ignores this incident, instead opting to not grade your group on this one.
After class ends the three of you quickly make your way downstairs and onto the campus to meet the others. Sunwoo was stubbornly clinging onto your arm with an annoyed pout on his face.
"Hey Sunwoo." you speak up and nudge him so he looks at you. "Thank you for interfering."
He gives you a tight-lipped smile and says "No big deal."
"Thank you too Hoonie." you turn to the older guy and give him an affectionate smile which he returns shyly.
"Oh look, the troublemakers are coming." Someone teases when the three of you proceed on your way towards your friend group.
You turn to glare at the person, your red eyes flaring dangerously and they immediately look away, visibly flustered.
"Hey hey, we already heard you guys got in trouble." Jacob says first when you are within hearing range. "What happened? Are you okay?"
"Don't worry, we're fine." You answer and wave him off, but the way he eyes Sunwoo tells you that's not what he wanted to hear.
"Miss Im went off on Y/N after she offered to use her powers for the experiment because a burner was missing." Younghoon explains and you feel Sunwoo tighten his group on your arm even further. "A- Sunwoo what's gotten into you?" You exclaim to him and prod at his arm to give you some room.
"I'm sorry Noona, I'm just still mad at Miss Im." He mumbles and hides his face on your shoulder.
"Stop being a baby." Juyeon speaks up and pries the younger one from you… well he tries. "Argh, let go already! Chanhee, come help me out!"
"Wha- Hyung what am I supposed to do??" The younger one replies incredulously.
"Just help me get this walking taser off of Y/N!"
You snort at that exclamation and Sunwoo gives Juyeon a pointed look. "Did you really just call me a walking taser?!"
"So what if I did?"
"Unbelievable." Chanhee shakes his head, but an amused smile plays at his lips nonetheless.
Your eyes basically scream 'help me!!' As you look at Youngjae, the youngest out of you all gives you a laugh before nodding. And suddenly Sunwoo's grip on you loosens and you quickly peel yourself away and hide behind the culprit. "Thanks Jae." you snicker against his arm as you peek out to look at a confused Sunwoo.
"Yah!" He literally screams, making all of you flinch besides Changmin. "Youngjae I swear-"
"Enough now, kids!" Sangyeon finally steps in and silences Sunwoo quickly. He pouts and crosses his arms in front of his chest.
You move from behind Youngjae to stand to his left, now in between him and Changmin.
"Ohh guys!" The latter suddenly speaks up with sparkly eyes and everyone looks at him. "How about we have a sleepover at my house this weekend? We're free next week so we can have some fun together!"
Everyone quickly makes eye contact with the others. "Sure!" Haknyeon nods and adjusts his choker. "I'm itching to take this thing off, it's really weird to be as close to normal as it can get here."
You all laugh at that, remembering how he has to wear it due to his powers. His hyperawareness is a very useful power, but also hard to live with, since he gets easily overwhelmed in crowded places. He had someone in his family create that ability dimmer for him so he could live without being constantly overwhelmed.
"You over there!"
All of you turn to see who called, finding it to be your headmaster. "Kim Sunwoo and L/N Y/N, come over here."
You give Youngjae a panicked look and he shoots you one right back. That can't be good.
The two of you slowly walk towards the man, stopping about a meter in front of him. "Do you know why I came to speak with you?"
"No, sir." You shake your head, not daring to look into his eyes. Out of the corner of your eyes you see Sunwoo trembling slightly.
"Well, I came here because Miss Im told me about what happened during her chemistry lesson. Shall I remind you, Miss L/N, that it is strictly prohibited to use your powers on campus grounds, unless they're unable to be deactivated?"
"N-No, I know that, sir." You reply quietly. "But we were missing a burner, so I thought-"
"You thought what? That it would be a good idea to use your powers instead and to risk hurting your classmates? Hm?"
"I'm so-sorry. It won't happen again, sir"
"And now on to you, Mister Kim." The headmaster turns to Sunwoo instead and you try to calm your racing heart and keep your anxious tears at bay. "You're really cocky for a 2nd year, just raising your voice at a teacher like that AND using your powers in a classroom."
"Miss Im has started it." Sunwoo replies through gritted teeth, "She could've calmly explained it, but instead she decided to humiliate Y/N Noona in front of the whole class! Was I just supposed to watch?!"
"Sunwoo-" You hiss, scared for him.
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me right, sir."
"Don't make me call your parents." The much older man threatens.
"Oh, go ahead then." Sunwoo replies, "I don't care."
"Sunwoo!" You say with big eyes. "Stop it!"
"You should listen to your little friend, Mister Kim." The headmaster sneers, "I'll let you off the hook since you never did anything before. You better behave." he clicks his tongue and leaves.
You grab Sunwoo by the collar and pull him to match your height. "Are you out of your mind?!"
"Hey hey…" Jacob quickly makes an appearance and gently touches your shoulders with nothing but worry all over his face. "Please calm down Y/N."
"You idiot, he could have expelled you or something! Don't do stuff like that!" You practically beg him with teary eyes.
The younger one's eyes soften. "I'm sorry Noona, I won't do it again, but please don't cry."
Jacob takes a step back and just watches, mostly relieved that you weren't angry and that he wouldn't have to break up a fight.
"Give me a hug you idiot…" You grumble and wipe your eyes. Sunwoo gives a panicked wheeze, locking eyes with Changmin and Youngjae. They both just wave him off.
"Okay okay, don't cry." He says and gives in, pulling you close and patting your back.
The others watch from a bit away, soft smiles on their faces, almost forgetting why you two are in that situation in the first place.
But then the bell rang, snapping you all out of your thoughts.
Changmin drags you by your wrist, Chanhee on your other side as they lead the way to your next class.
"Are you feeling better now, Y/N?" Chanhee softly asks from your left side and you turn to look at him.
"I feel okay now, thank you for worrying." You reply and flash the taller man a quick smile.
Changmin intertwined his fingers with yours. It's nothing new, the two of you used to do that ever since you became friends.
"Chanhee Hyung, where is the literature classroom again?"
The oldest of you three thinks for a moment and looks at the numbers next to the doors. "It's room 371."
"Ahh thank you~" Changmin happily replies and you guys make your way into the room.
Chanhee stretches his long limbs after the bell chimed, indicating the end of the class. "Today's lesson was pretty intense, don't you guys think?"
"Yeah, there was a lot." Changmin frowns a little. "Y/N how were you holding up?"
Your head shoots up in surprise, caught off guard while packing your stuff. "Uh- It was alright. I understood most of it actually."
Both men give you weird looks. "You never understand stuff in literature, what happened?" Changmin says with furrowed brows.
"I think it's because she actually paid attention this time." Chanhee adds with a chuckle, "She looked so concentrated, it was cute."
You feel your body heating up and avert your eyes. "Whatever, let's go."
The two men exchange amused glances but don't speak on it any further, opting to just follow you out of the building.
You didn't expect to run into this particular person when you exited through the large glass doors.
After all, he got expelled for using his powers on campus and a few other things.
"Hyunjun?"

abt the historia and zeke are technically related, it got me thinking. We get a lot of yeager bros content and im sure there’s content of frieda being hostoria’s older sister but... where’s the content of zeke being a protective big bro to historia? Feel like they can bond well since they both got dick dads
historia taking the first few steps to breaking away from the nice, submissive type everyone knows her to be. she’s not perfect and there would be times that she’d doubt herself and go back to being insecure and playing herself down. in comes zeke who met her through his mother’s side of the family and is all for that personal growth. he relates to her wanting to stick it to her father, having gone through something like that in the past. he says stuff like, “like hell they can get away talking to you like that, tell me who they are and ill give them a piece of my mind.” and “your dad can go fuck himself, you can stay with me and mom if you need somehwere to stay. mom doesnt like rod either so you’re more than welcome.”
idk idk hahah :p
...i hope you don't mind me just wirting some headcannons and scenrios real quick, because wow anon you just opened my third eye for all this potential.
Historia and Zeke family bonding modern au below cut
They probably met for the first time at large family gathering when Dina took teen Zeke to meet his relatives and one of his uncles mentioned that his daughter from his ex-wife just started living with him after moving from the country side.
He was 17 at the time, and so while the adults were busy with each other as the topic of his mother's divorce came up again, he felt too uncomfortable to stay in the room so he just excused himself to the bathroom.
Only to sneak outside the house instead, knowing all the rooms in his uncle's big mansion were probably filled with maids or other relatives and he didn't want to risk getting caught.
The back garden was beautiful, the grass overgrown and not as bright as the front yard fake lawn, it was clearly an overlooked part of the house that the gardener seemed to forget from dried crunchy leaves collecting at the bottom of the old tree.
Zeke took a breath of fresh air, before reaching into the hidden pocket of his jacket and pulling a cigarette.
He knew if his mother found out she'd kill him, not to mention his concerned grandparents, but what they don't know can't harm them.
Getting out his lighter, he was too focused on covering the flame so the wind won't snuff it out before lighting the cigarette
"You shouldn't do that, it's not good for you." Came a high pitched voice that took him off guard, almost making him drop the lighter and cause a fire hazard.
Looking in front of him, a seven year old girl stood with messy blonde hair with some leaves stuck to it, she was clutching a patch of dandelions and weeds pulled from the ground.
Putting the lighter back in his pocket, Zeke took a deep breath before slowly letting the smoke out, pushing what she said aside, he said "And what exactly are you doing with those?"
She gave a big toothy smile before explaining how she's cleaning the garden, she said "they keep stealing the other plants' food, most plants here are dead and i wanted to help."
Zeke stepped closer before leaning down to be on eye level with her, judging by the dirt staining her white dress and between her fingernails, she must have been doing this for a while. He chuckled at the way she crunched her nose at the smell of smoke, before attempting to mask her features.
Wanting to mess with her, he held the cigarette with two fingers before offering it to her, "wanna try? i won't tell your parents, pinky promise."
Audibly gasping, she clutched the dandelions to her chest protectively before stumbling to politely reject it in a way that was clearly meant not to offend him, her eyes glancing at the garden fence door like she's considering running.
Deciding to end the joke before she would yell stranger danger, Zeke put out the cigarette with an amused smile before offering his empty hand to her.
"I'm sorry for the awful joke, please don't tell my mom, will you forgive me? Pretty please?" Putting on his best pout, Zeke almost couldn't hold back chuckling when the kid in front of him seemed actually moved by his act.
She reluctantly took his hand, tangling their pinkies together before nodding, with the most serious expression she said "okay...i won't, but you have to stop okay! My dad does it and he coughs a lot."
"Your dad huh..." Zeke stared into her eyes, "so you must be Historia."
"Mhm! Do you know my dad? He said some people will be visiting today and i should stay somewhere they can't see..."
"Hmm, well Historia " standing up, Zeke pushed his glasses back, "I'm Zeke, what do you say we become friends?"
Looking up at the tall boy with stars in her eyes, Historia enthusiastically noded, too happy to dwell on the fact that her first ever friend had offered her a smoke some minutes ago.
"That's the spirit, now" taking off his jacket, Zeke folded it before putting it aside on the fence, "what do you say we finish pulling these weeds so i can teach you a really fun game called catch."
That day, Zeke dragged dirt and mud into his mother's new car with his now ruined suit, Dina was too busy scolding him that she forgot the fact he never came back from the bathroom after leaving the room.
And after that, each year at Christmas and family gatherings, Zeke and Historia would see each other for a single day.
He slowly saw her confidence grow more and more, each time she held her head a little higher, smile more genuine than the fake polite one.
At age 15, She told him about her first girlfriend, he bought her alcohol with His ID and of course she was quick to refuse it and scold him, Zeke started worrying she's starting to resemble his mother more and more.
At 16, when her father found out and threatened to kick her out, Zeke was the person she first called even before Ymir, not wanting to worry her.
To his surprise was the fact she didn't shed a single tear as she packed her bags before getting in his car, not giving a single glance to her father staring with a horrified expression from the front gate.
No, she smiled instead as both of them went to grab some food.
He asked if she knows where she's staying, she said she knows some friends but still haven't asked anyone yet.
After arriving at his grandparents house, Dina was the first to pull her into a hug before saying how sorry she is and how she just ended a call with Riess after giving him a piece of his mind.
Zeke, knowing very well how his mother is like when she's angry, he smiled knowing the guy now definitely has a headache from all the yelling, his mother has great lungs after all.
Zeke was almost 26 at the time, and so he offered her his old room while he's away in college.
They definitely grew closer after that, although Zeke never mentioned a word to his friends neither did Historia tell anyone beside Ymir.
They just never mentioned their personal life while hanging out on the days Zeke came to visit from college.
His grandparents adored her and treated her like their granddaughter after his mother moved to another country, they even met Ymir a couple times.
Zeke never talked with Ymir but he met her on the times Historia brought her over at christmas, his grandparents were quick to praise her for landing such a beautiful girlfriend before side eyeing Zeke and asking if he will ever give bring someone home.
Zeke was there for her to see her actual sad side that she hid from everyone, both of them bonded over the burden they hold on their shoulders for having to be the "perfect reliable" person all the time.
She rarely cried, but whenever she did it was either with Zeke or Ymir.
While Zeke would vent to her about Grisha and how much the fear of turning like him is what prevents him from being in a commited relationship, while Historia listens to him before sharing her own experience with both her dad and mother and how both of them just abandoned her.
After that they just go out to get ice cream.
Fun fact, Historia can handle spicey food and like it's nothing, meanwhile Zeke will choke if he even smelled peppers.
At age 20, Historia moved with Ymir in an apartment after high school and Zeke moved back home to a house near his grandparents after finishing college and opening his own clinc.
She still sends them cards each Christmas and even visits at times, Zeke picks up each time she calls no matter what he's currently doing.

Tree! (Fred Weasley X Reader)
 Writing Challenge
Fred Weasley X Reader
Prompts: 26. A: *B is driving* Left steer left!
B: *Turns right*
A:....You call that left?
and 34. A: Is this illegal?
B: Probably.
A: Are we still doing it?
B: Hell yeah!
Warnings: Swearing
“Get up, it’s time to go!”
“Shut it, Ronald, I’m sleeping.”
I groan and turn to the voice at the door. Ron is standing there, fidgeting and waiting for his idiot brothers to get up.
“What are you doing?” I ask, confused. Fred rolls and looks at me after turning to glare at Ron and hitting George with a pillow. George sits bolt upright and accidentally falls off the bed. All we hear is an “ow” before he stands up rubbing his arse.
“Morning Georgia, mind telling me where exactly you three are off to at…...3AM!”
“Uhhhhhh... I’m going to let Freddie handle this one. Ron let’s go get ready hmm?”
“Fred.”
“Hmm.”
“What are you doing? Can I come with?”
“According to Ron, Harry is being kept locked in his room sooooo we’ve decided to break him out using Dad’s car. And of course you can come love, I just know how much you enjoy your sleep.”
“Let's go then, Weasley.” I say, a small smirk crossing his face at my excited tone. We quickly race down the stairs and outside to where George and Ron are waiting. Ron looks like he is going to throw up. George just looks tired.
“Is this Illegal?” I ask Fred with a worried look towards Ron.
“Probably.” He answers, watching Ron walk over to the bushes and put his hand against the wall of the Burrow.
“Are we still doing it?”
“Hell Yeah!”
“We can’t just leave Harry locked up like that.” George adds from his position by the car.
“Let’s go Ronald, sometime this year, huh.” Fred hisses as loudly as he can without waking anyone nestled asleep inside the Burrow. Ron and George climb into the back of the car, I get in the passenger side, while Fred gets in the driver's seat.
“You have driven before yeah?” I ask, worried, as we take off to a very bumpy start.
“Of course I have woman, with Dad….once.”
“ONCE?”
“Shhhhh! They may still be able to hear you.” He says, eyes focused on the sky ahead of us. I grab the map sitting in front of me on the dash and start to give him directions. After several minutes and plenty of rough bumps, we start to even out and settle into a better rhythm.
“See, I told you I knew what I was doing.” Fred brags with a quick glance my way.
“If Ron throws up on me Freddie, I will hex you into next week.” I retort. George quickly agrees. Ron just groans and opens the window. The car flies at a moderate pace. When I check the time, it is nearly 5.
We still have quite a bit of time to make up for the twins not wanting to get their sorry arses out of bed, but all in all we make good time. I hear light snores from the back seat and look to find George out cold and Ron slightly less green. Then comes the difficult part: exiting the countryside. There seem to be more trees that Fred swerves to avoid. After about the fifth almost-collision with a tree, George gets up, smacking his brother on the back of the head.
“Ow, Georgie, what was that for?”
“Maybe it was for, I don’t know, the terrible driving.” I suggest. I receive a long, withering glare that almost results in two more tree-related accidents.
“Eyes on the road, sky, whatever!” I shout. “You know, I’m starting to think George should have driven.” I add.
“I was supposed to, until you decided to come and Freddie simply had to impress his girlfriend with his ‘excellent’ driving skills.” George grumbles before pulling Ron to his side so he doesn’t fall out the window as the car turns on its side to avoid another tree.
“It really is too bad we don’t have time to switch drivers because we still have to drive back with another person and an owl.” I comment after a few minutes. George snorts and Ron offers a small grin. After another half hour, George fell asleep again and Ron seemed completely fine.
Once we reach Little Whinging, I try to navigate to Privet Drive, which turns out to be more of a challenge than the trees.
“Turn left.” I instruct as he starts to go straight...into a house.
“LEFT! STEER LEFT!” Fred then turns right.
“You call that left?” I snort sarcastically.
“Which left? Yours or Mine?”
“We’re facing the same direction you fucking idiot!”
“Oh yeah, sorry.” He turns fully, causing everyone to slide.
“If you do that again I will kill you, even if you are my twin.” George threatens, annoyed at being woken up yet again.
“Sorry, sorry.” Fred answers before we pull up beside 4 Privet Drive.
Time skip brought to you by I’m pretty sure everyone knows what happened here.
The drive back was surprisingly uneventful compared to the drive over. All of us were thankful for the temporary respite. As we landed, a little bumpy, we got out and slipped back into the Burrow. While we hoped we had done everything undetected, we naturally could never be that lucky. Mrs.Weasley came round and started yelling at the boys. She did, however, make a point to say that she did not blame Harry or me, she even said she assumed I went to make sure the boys did not get themselves killed. Of course, she’s exactly right. Fred grabs my hand when she dismisses us all to go. He leads me back to his room where our crazy adventure began.
“I suppose getting yelled at was worth all the fun we had.” He concludes, flopping down on to his bed.
“Yeah, almost dying was so much fun!” I laugh as Fred pulls me down next to him.
“But I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“I would. You are not driving next time!” George shouts as he collapses onto his own bed.
“Lee is gonna flip when we tell him what happened though.” Fred adds before closing his eyes and falling asleep with his arms wrapped around me.
@slytherinquill @im-a-writer-right
Please give any feedback you can. I haven’t written in a really long time, cause getting it out of my head sucks. Let me know if anyone wants me to write anything else in the future. I will write for almost any Harry Potter characters.

Haikyuu Angst Week Prompt List here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have been in love with Tetsuro Kuroo since I was seven years old.
I still love him—eighteen years later.
Growing up as best friends, he was never a hard person to love. He looks out for me, brought me out of my comfort zone, hell, he’s the reason why I’ve grown into who I am today. I’d never admit that to his stupid face, though.
I was seventeen when I realized my love for him was more than just platonic. He was a year older than me, so by the time I started my third year, he was already off to university. The harsh reality of the situation finally weighed heavy on me when I waited outside of his house for thirty minutes and remembered he’s not coming anymore.
He called me later that evening apologizing, although he did nothing wrong, because that’s just the type of person Kuroo was. The next week he surprised me by waiting outside my door to walk me to school.
“I miss this,” he reminisced, staring up at the sky.
“What?” I turned to him, heart racing just a little more than usual, hoping for a certain string of words to come out of his mouth.
“Walking to school like this every morning.”
They didn’t.
I don’t know what I was hoping for. Maybe I wanted him to say he missed walking with me. I’m not sure whether I’d rather hear lies or the truth. That was the day I admitted to myself that he’d be the only person for me.
Now here we are, me at 25 and him at 26 sitting in my office with my publicist yelling at us for being so reckless in public. It was a misunderstanding, really.
“How could you do that at a party where you knew there’d be press coverage?” Kata was pacing back and forth while I rested my forehead on my crossed arms that laid on the glass desk and Kuroo leaned back in his chair on the other side of the table.
“Kata,” she stopped mid-stride and turned her attention to me as I muttered, “how many times do I have to repeat myself,” I lifted my head back up, “IT ISN’T WHAT YOU THINK.”
Kuroo found it difficult to hold back his laugh.
“I don’t think you should be laughing, Kuroo-san. You’re in just as much trouble as Kozume-san.”
He stopped laughing.
“Anyway, it doesn’t matter what I think. It was never about what I thought. The point of my job is to make sure you look good for the public. Thats what a publicist does. Now the issue here, is that the public thinks you’re dating.”
“Okay, wow so all it takes is for me to fall, Kuroo to catch me, and some no-name photographer to snap a picture of us for us to be considered ‘dating’ now?”
“Kozume-san if you play into this little charade, say for a couple months, just long enough for the new product to be released, sales will go up, and then you can just announce that you two called it quits.”
Was it really worth playing with my heart just to earn a quick buck?
“No. I don’t want Kuroo to be forced to date me, that’s weird and embarrassing.”
Kata walked forward and took a seat in the chair next to Kuroo before she leaned forward and rest her chin on her hand, “Here’s the thing Kozume-san, you two ‘dating’, doesn't even have to be real,” proud of her award-winning idea, she leaned back in her seat, arms folded across her chest, and a smug look written all over her face.
“So what you’re saying is to do this as a cash grab?” Kuroo seemed genuinely curious.
“Well somewhat. Think of it more like...fan service.”
“Hmmm...I mean if it’s a show they want then it’s a show they’ll get,” he reached over and smacked my back, “What do you say kitten? Be my scene partner?” he smirked.
Ugh. Why does he have to use those stupid nicknames that always make my heart flutter. My face was visibly cringing as i scrunched up my nose and scowled at him. He knows I could never truly refuse when it’s him.
“Fine,” I mumbled under my breath as I looked away.
Kuroo’s footsteps were light as he got up from his seat and went around the desk to sneak up behind me. He bent down and leaned in close towards my ear.
“What was that, puddin?” he whispered, his hot breath whipping through my loose strands of hair.
I jumped out of my seat and rubbed my ear with the sleeve of my jacket and he laughed his ugly, stupid, hyena laugh.
“See! Look at that! You two aren’t even ‘dating’ and yet you have so much chemistry!” Kata said enthusiastically while clapping.
Of course we have chemistry. We’ve been best friends for eighteen years. Soulmates our whole lives. It was always easy to be around Kuroo. That’s one of the things I love about him. Why wouldn’t we have chemistry?
“Well, when you’ve been best friends with someone for like, your whole life, of course you’re gonna know exactly how to push his buttons,” his voice was breathy as he wiped tears from his eyes.
I didn’t realize it then, but I truly did sell my heart for pocket change.
A full month later was when we went out in public together as a “couple” for the first time. It was a simple brunch at a well known restaurant, but Kata made sure to anonymously tip paparazzi that we would be at that establishment. Together. It wasn’t even 30 minutes into our meal when we were bombarded with cameras.
“Today we are here with Kenma Kozume, the young CEO of Bouncing Ball Corp., and his supposed boyfriend, Tetsuro Kuroo, from the Japan Volleyball Association. Are any of you able to speak on the rumors spreading about the two of you?”
Kuroo had always been good at talking. He's been smooth with his words for as long as I could remember him. He was...a people person. The complete opposite of me, which is why we agreed that Kuroo would do most of the talking, should a camera crew show up.
He laughed, not the ugly hyena kind, it was an attractive laugh. That’s how I knew it wasn’t real.
“Well I mean we won’t confirm or deny anything right now, won’t we kitten?” he winked at me and suddenly all the attention was directed towards my direction.
Idiot. Two can play at that game.
“Im pretty sure whatever the public is thinking is probably true, hm Tetsu?”
I’ve never called him that before, so it was obvious he was shocked. Big eyes and blushy cheeks. We gave the camera exactly what it wanted.
“Is that a confirmation?” the man behind the camera was provoking us for an answer.
“It’s whatever you want it to be,” he smirked before taking his chopsticks back into his hand and grabbing a plate full of beef, “Now if you gentlemen will excuse us, we’d like to continue our lunch date.”
Satisfied with the content they would now be able to work with, the cameras slowly started retreating from the scene until it was just us two again.
“Damn maybe I should’ve gone into show business,” he smirked.
“Shut up, they might still be around,” I whispered while looking down, incase we were still being watched.
“How do you know I was talking about that. I could just simply be saying that I would’ve been amazing on T.V.”
“No you wouldn’t,” I replied, monotonous voice, as I took a bite of some barbecue and rice.
“Kenma, why do you have to break my heart like this? What if I was born to be an actor?”
“Uhm I don’t know about you, but I’ve never seen an actor that has the same hairstyle twenty-four seven, three hundred sixty-five days a year.”
“That’s a technicality. Why should hair define my amazing acting abilities?”
“Then I want to see you shave your head and wear a wig.”
Kuroo froze in the middle of whatever movement he was making and just stared at the grill in the middle of the table with a horrified expression written on his face.
“You know what? Maybe I wasn't meant to be an actor...”
Outings usually continued on like this. We would have little interviews with paparazzi, slowly dropping more and more hints about our “relationship,” and once they left, we’d have breakfast, lunch, or dinner, like we usually do. I suppose to any outsider it would seem as though we were on a date, but I wouldn’t allow myself to call this pitiful get together as such.
I could pretend this was real. I could tell myself that Kuroo reciprocated my feelings. I could tell myself that we were truly in a relationship. I could tell myself I have a chance, but a mere sliver of probability isn’t worth risking our friendship.
Since I was seventeen I accepted the fact that I’d be happy as long as he was in my life. I mean, he’d still smile the same. He’d still laugh the same. He’d still love me...
I’m supposed to be content with what I have. It’s either we stay as best friends, or we go on as strangers, and I’d rather avoid the latter. So why do I feel such a tightness in my chest whenever we’re forced to go out together? Why do I feel so selfish for wanting more?
Two months went by until we had to make an actual appearance together at a party. Me under Kuroo’s arm like some sort of bittersweet candy.
He was always good at reading people—especially me. Which is why he pulled me aside before we walked into the huge rental house. The only reason I agreed to show up was because it was Shoyo’s team celebrating their win against some team who’s name I can’t remember.
“You okay Ken?” he rested both hands on my shoulders with my back against the wall.
“Yeah, I just need a second.”
I never did like big crowds.
After taking a few minutes to breathe before submitting myself to the abyss of rowdy adrenaline-high athletes, Kuroo took my hand in his as we walked through the front doors together. It was warm. Like my fingers were molded to fit perfectly into his palm. Must’ve been why I felt so cold when he let my hand go.
As soon as the camera flashed and Bokuto called him from the other side of the room, he whispered an “I’ll be back kitten,” before joining the beefy player by the bar.
I guess I’ll go find Shoyo.
It wasn’t long until I saw a bush of bright orange bobbing up and down through a sea of people.
“Shoyo!”
“Kenma!”
“Congratulations on your win.”
“Thank you! I wouldn’t want to disappoint my sponsor,” he winked, “Do you want to step outside? It’s a little loud in here.”
Whether he means to or not, Shoyo’s always been good at making sure people feel comfortable.
“Uhm, Shoyo?” I grabbed the hem of his shirt and tugged a little to get his attention.
“What’s up?” he practically had to yell over the loud music and the incessant yelling of the surrounding people.
“Can we get a beer first?”
A smile spread across his face, “Of course, just wait for me by the fire outside.”
I followed his instructions and sat in one of the red lawn chairs that snaked around the circular bonfire.
“How’ve you been?” the ginger said while handing me an opened beer and sitting in the chair next to me.
“I’ve been alright. Things are running smoothly for the product release—”
“I didn't ask about how work was, Kenma,” he interrupted, “How are you?”
“Oh. Uhm...I’m keeping it together.”
He leaned back in the plastic chair and took a sip from his drink, “So you and Kuroo-san, huh?”
I looked around to make sure no one was near us. I could never lie to Shoyo.
“Barely,” I mumbled as I, myself, took a big gulp.
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“It’s an act. All because of a misunderstanding from a few months ago.”
“Well did you have a choice?”
“Not really.”
“That's unfortunate. I thought you would’ve told him how you felt by now.”
“Wait- what do you mean ‘how I felt?’ You knew?”
“I may not be that bright, but I have eyes, Kenma. I can see the way your eyes gloss over when he calls you one of those cute pet names, or the way your cheeks redden when he does that weird laugh at your jokes.”
“Hmm... You’re more observant than I thought, Sho.”
“So why haven’t you told him?”
Just thinking about confessing scared the shit out of me. All I can imagine is the disgusted look on his face when I tell him. The scenario plays over and over again in my head—the one where he walks away and fades into the background. I don’t know when I started crying, but I had only realized it when I heard the glass of Shoyo’s bottle tap the ground.
“What’s wrong?”
I wiped the hot tears from my cheeks with my wrist.
“I guess I just love him too much to lose him.”
Two weeks after that party, we had another meeting at the office.
“This has been going great so far!” Kata exclaimed, obviously proud of her idea, “Have you ever thought of being an actor?” she teased Kuroo.
“See! That’s what I’ve been telling Kenma, but apparently my untamable hair is standing in the way between me and fame.”
“You’re already all over the news, idiot.”
“And all thanks to my little kitten,” he walked over to my seat behind my desk and peppered my cheek in kisses.
“We’re not in public, you can stop acting all lovey dovey,” I spat. I didn’t even think about my words until Kata’s effervescent expression changed into a state of confused shock. She wasn’t sure how she should react to my outburst.
“W-what? It’s all fun and games, Ken,” Kuroo was taken aback by my response as well, but he hid it much better than my publicist.
“It always is with you,” I got up and walked out of office. I couldn't take it anymore. All this pretending and toying with my heart. I felt bad for blaming it all on Kuroo, when he couldn’t have possibly known about my feelings, but it was easier to blame him for my pain than to admit to myself that I’m a coward.
I rounded the corner and continued on my way to the vending machine to get an energy drink. Those always seemed to put me in a better mood.
Kuroo knew me well. Who wouldn’t after eighteen years? That’s probably why he knew exactly where to find me.
“What the hell was that, Kenma?”
I pulled up the tab of the can and let the hiss of carbonation fizzle out before I took a sip and leaned against the wall.
“What was what?”
“You’re little scene in there? What’s going on?”
“Nothing is going on.”
“You’re lying to me.”
I looked off to the side, my eyes scanning every row in the vending machine, “I just think it’s time to call quits on this charade we have going on,” I responded dryly.
“Huh? Why? It’s only a couple more weeks until the release. Why end it now?”
“I’m tired, Kuroo. I don’t want to have to pretend all the time anymore.”
I was never an emotional person, so I knew that in this moment Kuroo knew something catastrophic was going on inside my head, for me to put myself before the potential success of the company.
“It’s just for a little while longer and then we can go back to normal, okay? Can you just hold out until then?”
“No. You’re not listening to me. Why the hell do you want to keep doing this. This doesn’t benefit you in the slightest.”
“Because I love you,” my heart rate went up at these words although I knew he didn’t mean them in the way I wish he did, “You’re my best friend and I want to see you thrive.”
“Why are you always putting yourself on the line for me?”
“Putting myself on the line? What are you—”
“I’m so selfish! And then you over here,” I rolled my eyes at him before kicking my weight off the wall, “You constantly give but you never take!”
“I don’t see the issue with that.”
“You’re too good for me,” I looked to the ground because I knew that if I looked up into his gorgeous hazel eyes, I would definitely cry.
“That’s not true—”
“Yes it is and you know it,” my voice was on the verge of cracking from how tired I was from arguing.
“You know what? You look like you need some space. Think about things okay? I’m only a phone call away. I’ll see you at the launch party,” he walked away.
The day of the launch party was a bore. Just a bunch of business men in suits and the growing anxiety in the pit of my stomach, for Kuroo had yet to show up like he promised.
It was half-past twelve when I stepped outside the venue to get some fresh air. The second I opened the doors was when I saw him pacing back and forth, deep in thought.
“Kuroo?”
“Kenma! I’m so sorry about what happened a few weeks ago—”
I did nothing but hugged him like I was going to lose him.
“Why are you apologizing? I was the one that had a tantrum.”
“Well you’re not the only one that got mad.”
“Let’s go for a walk?”
He nodded and draped his heavy arm over my shoulder before he took another step.
“Well so far sales have been good. Almost linear.”
“I’m glad I was able to help. So this is the end, huh?”
We both stopped in the middle of the side walk. I didn’t want it to end. The handholding, the hugs, the camera kisses. I wanted all of it. I so badly wanted all of it to be real. Maybe it’s because I spent half the night drinking, or maybe it’s because his midnight hair ricocheted the moonlight ever so perfectly, that I felt a courage rush through me like never before.
“Why does it have to end?”
“Didn’t you say like three weeks ago that you wanted to end our little ‘relationship?’”
“I don’t mean it like that. I mean,” I unwrapped myself from his limb and stepped in front of him, “I’m in love with you, Tetsu. I have been for eighteen years.”
A piece of my heart cracked when he took a step back, face pale, and eyes widened.
“What?”
I wanted to take a step forward, but for some reason, my feet were glued to the ground.
“I love you.”
He smiled assuringly before he laughed to lighten the air. The same type of laugh he’s used to fool reporters.
“You’re my best friend, Kenma.”
“I know. I’ll never be more than that, right?”
“You know I love you,” I wouldn’t dare get my hopes up again at those words, “You’re like a little brother to me.”
Damn. Is this what it feels like for my heart to be so irreparably shattered? Physical pain spread from my chest throughout my body. To the tips of fingers and toes.
“I—” he started, before giving you that diabetes inducing smile, “I should go.”
I watched him walk away. It was a vision from my worst nightmare. When did it all change? Is this what my selfishness was bound to lead to?
What was supposed to be a simple marketing tactic, turned out to be a fate worse than death. I was heartbroken to think he was my soulmate, but I wasn’t his.

The room falls silent,....Until Garmr jumped out of the doors like a madman and quickly taiks to Snow,Whom is quite aggitated by the rude behavior.
Snow: Garmr!,What did i told you about opening doors.
Garmr:Ummm,Sorry, Master here,Said he wants to fight.
Claude:Is that so?... HAHA!,Our dear gladiator never cease to surprise us,He has saved me from this painful boredom,Snow set our gladiator to fight Macan.
Snow:As you wish darling master, Garmr lead Harumo to the a room to prepare.
Garmr:Yes Snow, WOOF.
Claude whom 2 minutes ago was bored and now back to his usual charismatic grin,Snow waiks towards the locker room where Macan is,Garmr leads Harumo to a room in order to prepare for his inevitable fight with the number 1 ranker of the Ikebukuro Guild,Macan.
Your party were waiking towards the underground coloseumn,When you were pounced by Garmr to come with him to the room for preparations.
Harumo: Wait,Im going to fight right now. Also who is it im going to be fighting.
Garmr: Master Claude said Macan.
Kengo:You’ve got to be kidding me here, Macan really is it that too much.
Shiro:Well for starters,They don’t know about Harumo”s memories being lost.Though,It is a little bit too much to pair him to Harumo already.
Kengo:Little bit?!,We’re taiking about the number 1 ranker of the guild, plus a bloodthirsty monster that literally wants to eat everything.
Ryota:Can he really eat anything?,Really?
Moritaka: I sure hope Harumo will be able to remember how to summon his sacred artifact from this plan.
Toji: Im starting to doubts in this plan of your Takabushi.
Kengo:Do you guys think i would let my partner be in harms way.
Besides im going to be his teamate in this fight,So you don’t have worry.
Harumo:Really?,You’re going to be my teamate in this fight.
Kengo:Yeah, I promised that i will protect you and fight with you side by side.
Harumo:Pro..missed...
A sudden image appeared in your mind ,A picture of 2 hands shaking as a sign of deal,Appeared on Harumo”s mind. The scenario was a bit shaky and Harumo was in a state of blank in reality.
Ryota:Uhm,Harumo? You okay?.
Harumo:Oh, Yeah, I just ......remembered.. something.
Shiro:What is it?.
Harumo:Hm,...Ah,Its a bit blurry,But i saw ...two hands shaking.
Shiro:Two hands? Shaking?.....Hm
Shiro: It appears to be a memory you’ve lost.
Ryota:Does this mean he’s starting remember something?.
Shiro:It appears so, And i hate to say this but.....Kengo’s plan might actually work.
Saying does words almost made Shiro puke for the fact that Kengo’s plan is acutally working,
Moritaka:Shiro are you unwell?.
Shiro:N-no,its nothing, Its just disturbing to me.
Ryota: Don’t worry Harumo will be cheering for you as loud as we can, So be c-careful o-okay.
Harumo: Yeah, I’ll try my best.
Kengo:Lets go partner,See you later guys.
Moritaka: Give it your all you two, Fight valiantly.
Harumo:See you later guys.
As both of you departed you and Kengo went to the preparation room,Your friends went to the audience to find a good spot to watch your upcoming dangerous fight,With the intent of remembering how to summon your sacred artifact.
Now inside the locker room of the bersekers, the room is fume with the smell of sweat and blood from the gladiators who simultaniously take turns fighting one another in pairs, There Macan is seen punching a sandbag and ripping it to shreds like a vicious beast who got his prey, Snow enters the room to inform Macan about his upcoming match whom he doesn’t know who is going to be his next prey,
Snow: Hello gladiators, I would like to inform Macan about his upcoming match today,
Bathym:Hey Snowy, Macan is going to fight today?, Who’s his next prey,
Nomad:If you’re wondering where that idiot is,His over there chewing the sandbags again.
Ikutoshi: Macan doesn’t normally have matches, So who’s going to be his opponent.
Snow: AH, Thank you,
Bathym:You didn’t even answer my question.!
Snow waiked towards Macan,Chewing and ripping the sandbag and other furniture he could get his hands on, You can tell by the number of broken benches and stuffing layed on the floor beside him, There Macan didn’t notice Snow approach him.
Snow:Macan,I would like to inform you about your upcoming match,
Macan:*Chewing* Huh i’ve got a match today, Whoever it is i’ll pass i’l just that sucker up,They have to be juicy you know.
Snow: I assure you your opponent will do you nicely, Because your opponent will be....Harumo.
The room falls silent,The rankers shocked and Macan stopped chewing the ripped sandbag,His eyes widen, Macan breaks the silence by.
Macan:WHAT?!.
Bathym:Harumo is here?, And he’s gonna fight Macan,WHOOOO this is going to get nasty.
Ikutoshi: Harumo’s gonna fight this bastard, But not me, Whats going on here.
Snow: We don’t know exactly,But as long as my darling master Claude is happy,Then i have questions to asks.
Macan:HAHAHA!,That guy has a lot of guts,I like it,I can finally devour him and he’l be mine.HAHAHA.
Macan grits his teeth in excitement,The bersekers are intrigued and a bit suspicious about it, Horkeu Kamui, The 7th ranker happens to have arrived at the coloseum, Whom doesn’t know his beloved hero is here aswell, everyone of the rankers aren’t fully aware about Harumo losing his memories again,So they couldn’t help but feel excited since Harumo is admired by everyone he comes across with.
Horkeu Kamui:.....
Horkeu Kamui waik towards the halls of the guild to ask Snow about his upcoming match.
{PREPARATION ROOM}
Inside the room escorted by Garmr,You and Kengo both discuss about your strategies and coming up how to target his weak spot ,But...
Kengo:Hey partner?,You okay.?
Harumo:Kengo,...Are you sure i’ll be able to get my memories back?.
Kengo:What do you mean?
Harumo:I mean...What if..I can’t remember everything.
Kengo:To be honest with you....Im not entirely sure whether this will help.
Harumo:What?!,Then why did you
Kengo:Its because i want you remember the times we fought side by side!.
Kengo:I ask Shiro about this and he said.
[FLASHBACK]
Shiro:I get that you plan to have him remember the times you fought together, But there is a high possiblity this won’t work.
{END OF FLASHBACK]
Kengo: Whatever that nerd says, I don’t care, I promised that will fight side by side and im not gonna let you fight this on your own,BECAUSE We’re PARTNERS REMEMBER!,
Harumo:Part....ners
A sudden image again appeared on your mind,This time an image of a large transient infront of you and there was someone by your side ready to fight with you, And a quick flash of someone kissing you,You couldn’t make who it was because you saw the scenario with from your front. But the person closely resembles someone very familiar to you. And another scenario where the person whom fought with you said the word.PARTNERS!.
Kengo:ahh.Hey Harumo ,You okay there?.
Harumo:Oh. Y-yeah its nothing.
Kengo:Alright then,Lets go,Are match is coming soon.
Harumo:Wait?!,Really!?..
Kengo:Yep, Just remember if you can’t handle him, lure him to me,.
Harumo:O-OKAY.
Your friends were waiking on the halls of the guild finding the audience section to watch your match, feeling worried and nervous about the fight that you will fight unharmed, Ryota can’t hide his worrying.
Ryota: IM REALLY WORRIED OF HARUMO!.
Shiro:Thaa,Ryota don’t shout all of a sudden,Im more worried than you right now, I sure hope that idiot knows what he’s doing,If this plan fails then Harumo won’t remember anything at all.
Moritaka: Friends, calm yourselves, Kengo will protect Harumo if he gets into trouble, So don’t worry about at it all, What we should be focusing on is supporting them, rather than making them worry for us.
Toji: I trust Takabushi will protect Harumo if he ever gets in a pitch, Moreover the guildmaster thinks highly of Harumo yet he doesn’t know that he lost his memories.
Shiro: We should tell Claude about this,
Moritaka: I think his office is right around this corner,wait.........Its Snow!.
Your friends runned towards Snow, to inform his about your memories being lost.
Moritaka: Greetings Snow, its been a while hasn’t it.
Snow: Yes, Greetings Summoners, You’ve certainly are an unpredictably guild, asking for a fight all of sudden, May i ask why.
Shiro: Allow me to explain Snow...Ahem.,..Harumo has lost his memories.and were trying to get them back.
Snow:My word!, How unfortunate,I terribly apologize,Moreover are you all inform about his opponent?.
Ryota: Yeah, He’s going to fight Macan right?
Snow:Correct, You see my darling master Claude was feeling bored at that time,When Garmr informed us about Harumo wanting to fight,In his excited state he couldn’t resist to match him with Macan,Also..... Im very grateful to you summoners.
Snow takes a bow to the summoners as a sign of gratitude to them for making his darling master Claude happy,
Shiro: Well, Your welcome,But...... i do hope Harumo might remember something from this.
Snow:May i ask why?.
Shiro:You see ..Harumo has fought on the coloseum before, And we’re wondering if he fought again on the coloseum,He might remember something from the time he was in the Ikebukuro Guild to get Kengo back.
Snow: I see, I pray for your success, Be rest assured,If Harumo is badly beaten, our medical staff will treat him quickly as possible,
Snow takes a quick bow to the summoners and waiked towards the door behind you all. And....
Ryota:BADLY BEATEN?!.
Ryota can help feeling even more worried from Snow’s words,He’s getting really nervous about his friend who’s going to fight someone big and scary.
Moritaka: Ryota, Do not worry yourself,
Ryota: How could i not worry?,..Harumo is going to fight someone really scary. And he lost his memories and doesn’t even know how to fight. So excuse me for being the worry wart here.
Toji: Ryota Yakushimaru, How long have you known Harumo,?
Ryota: What?.....Uhm....Months now.
Toji: In those months,Harumo has fought all his life with or without us, Yet he came out victorious and still smiling. Even if he lost his memories,Im sure he’l find a way to come out okay from this. He has done it before haven’t he.?
Moritaka: Toji is right Ryota,He has fought like a great warrior all this time,He gives everything he’s all in every fight and he’l never give up until the end.
Shiro: I full heartedly agree,When Harumo and i fought during his first day at school we caused that exception incident,He never gave up in the face of danger,Even when i was weak and cowardly,He brought me back up and bring my spirits up,So im sure he’l not give up on this one.
Those words speak words of fact and deep appreciation to the one friend who has shown out of nowhere, Whom Has become a great influnce to every person he comes across with,He has fought for his friends and even strangers even,But thats why he fights. Because every stranger he comes across with has become like he’s own family ever since being summoned to this strange world,Because those strangers are the only ones he got,To prevent from being alone on this strange Tokyo.
Moritaka:I know you’re worried, all of us are,But worrying won’t help him,The one thing we can do as he’s friends is to give him our unwaverving support to him.
Moritaka,Toji,Shiro,Spoke out the words Ryota needs to hear inorder to easy his worriying,And it has worked,He is still a little worried but the not kind of worry before.
Ryota: Y-You’re right guys, Harumo is going to be fine.He has Kengo by his side,So i’ll try not to worry to much,
Moritaka:Thats the spirit,Now lets go to Claude to inform him about Harumo’s condition.
Snow:May i join with you aswell,
Moritaka:Yes you ca-......aH,When did you get here?.
Snow:My apologise,i came to get some tea for my darling master,When i heard you all taiking awhile ago,I’l glady escort you all to Master Claude to inform him, And, you will have the best sits to watch them.
Ryota:Really?!, Thanks Snow we really appreaciate it.
Snow:Now shall we be on our way then?
Summoners:Yeah!.
They joined Snow to meet with Claude who is sitting at the best sits in the entire arena,
[PREPARATION ROOM]
The room both of you are in falls silent as you hear the cheers of the audience reach towards you even though the walls are supposed to be sound-proof, Signing Macan has already arrived at the arena, Kengo gestures you to get ready and get up to waik through the door and go through the halls leading to the arena.
Harumo: Here we go!.
Both of you head towards the halls and are met with audience’s eyes with a look saying  “you’l be dead”,You brushed it off and head towards the arena were Macan is surprised with eyes widen,His teeth griting and starting to drop saliva, like a vicious hungry predator had found his prey, Taurus Maske{AKA  Daisuke from Yoyogi Academy} will be the commentator for the match, And as always he’s hyperness makes him worthy of being a commentor for this match.
Taurus Maske: ARE YOU READY PEOPLE!, IT IS I TAUUUUURUUUUUSSSS MASKE!. Im going to be your commentator today and im would like to thank I Guild master for this match, Here we in the red corner The bloodthirsty Lion of the Ikebukuro guild MACAN!,
Macan:*ROARS*
Audience: YEAH!, MACAN!,
Harumo:*whispering* Who’s he Kengo?
Kengo:*whispering* Thats Taurus Maske, He’s also a ranker and a very hyper fighter, BUT He’s strong.
Taurus Maske: And the blue corner we have a pair fighting our champion today,  Harumo and Kengo!,
Claude: Hold it!.
Everyone: HUH? *Wondering*
Claude: As the Guild Master of the Ikebukuro Guild,......... I would like Harumo to fight Macan alone.
Claude as the Guild Master has superior authority on his members and also the power to decide who’s fighting who whenever he pleases, Since he’s favorite gladiator is fighting the champion it only makes sense for them fight one on one.The audience takes a second to process what he said and the entire underground coloseum is erupted by loud cheers from the audience signaling for a one on one fight,The summoners and You are both shocked and worried now. Kengo protested and the summoners explained your current condition to Claude.
Kengo: Hey, Whattdya mean he’s gonna Macan alone?,No way im letting him fight him on his own.
Shiro:Guild Master Claude, I wanted to inform you that,..Harumo has lost his memories,
Claude: Haha!,Splendid this will make the fight much worth to watch,Kengo i would you to leave the arena and let him fight.
Kengo:As if im going to listen to you,No way!,We’re gonna to di this together, Right partner?.
Harumo: Yeah!.
Audience:*BOOING*
The entire arena is filled by the boos and disappointment from their voices,Wanting the fight to be a one-on one. Some are even throwing their snacks at them
Andvari:WHOAH!,.....Hey watch it you idiot,
Audience member:Hey do you have something heavy to throw,I’ll pay you a thousand coins if you do.
Andvari: Here you go, A dumbell that will be a thousand coins.....Heheh looks like im gonna make a profit after all.
Andvari who happens to be selling there, Sparked his eyes and make a grin that shows his greedyness,Takes the opportunity to make a profit, By selling snacks but, not as consumables,Rather,Throwable objects to throw at the arena.
You are stuck in a situation where you either ask Kengo to let him fight on your own, or Protest. However.
Macan:*ROARS*
Everyone falls in silence from the roar and Macan,
Macan: Let them fight me, That just means more food for me, Hey Claude let them fight,Its been a while since i have good meal.
Claude took a second to think,Squinting his eyes a looking directly at the gladiators,And
Claude:HAHAHA!, I will allow this,Go Macan feast on your prey,Make this a spectactular bout,A fight to remember in history.
Harumo:Phew,
Kengo: All right then.
Taurus Maske: Alrighty then,....BEGIN!.
As soon as Taurus signaled it to begin,Macan quickly rushed in,Pouncing at you directly as the main dish,
Macan: Im going to devour you,
Harumo:Whoah!,
You tumbled away from him, As if your muscles are on auto-pilot, Macan tried pouncing at you again, But
Kengo:RARGH!,
A punch landed on Macan’s cheek followed by a sweep kick to Macan”s abdomen, Saving you in the process.
Harumo:Thanks Kengo,
Kengo:Don’t let up,Watch out!,
Macan: RAAAA!,
Macan landed a punch at your stomach,With the force from his punch so great, it throws you at the corner of the arena’s cage covering.
Kengo:Harumo!,
Taurus Maske: Oh!, Thats a punch i don’t want to get,
Harumo: *Gasping for air*
With the impact so strong,It hurts your back and immediately gasping for air almost to the point were you are about to puke.
Kengo delivers a series of combos to Macan followed by the use of his sacred aritfact,While Macan is dodging them and punched Kengo at the face,Throwing him in a corner.
Kengo:Hrgh!,
Harumo: K-Ke..ngo...
You look at Kengo down to his knees while Macan is waiking towards him like a tiger about to it his prey, When you look at him,Your mind flashes an image of you saving someone, You were there when you mutter something, leading to an appearance of a sword in your hands, You could hear it very clearly and the image is starting to become much more clearer in your mind, You’re starting to remember something and that is.
Harumo:Role of the Wanderer, Rule of Rending,Thou who art nameless in this world and powerless to claim this world...Deceive the world, hinder the world, and by thy false name, manifest in this closed domain! Avatar of the Serpent’s tail, severed by the Wanderer!, Bare thy Rule of Rending and cleave all power and authority!
Harumo:Engrame mine name unto thee and come forth! BOUNDLESS TAIL!
A bright light engulfed the entire arena and with that,You’re holding something  in your right hand.......
Harumo: A sword?!.
Shiro: Harumo...
Kengo: Allright partner you’re back,
Harumo:This? is my Sacred Artifact?, All right then.
Weapon on hand, you have found a way to beat Macan and charged at him,Swinging it to his body and you’ve manage to cut him.
Macan:*Groans* Not bad,
Macan grins at you when you slashed him and the beast is starting to get more wild as time flies by,
Horkeu Kamui: My hero....
Horkeu Kamui had just arrived at the coloseum only to be shocked by you fighting Macan the number one ranker,Horkeu stands in bewilderment and watches your fight closely...
Kengo:Hey don’t forget about me idiot.
Kengo who has recovered from the blunt of Macan”s attack delivers heavy combos at Macan who has his back turned around,
{Punching and kicking sounds}
Macan: RAgh!
Macan is now fighting two powerful gladiators and he grins in delight and ecstacy to see his food getting more tender and juicier by every second the match goes on. Macan then.
Macan: Ahhh!, I can’t take it and longer!,AHHHHHH!.
Macan”s loincloth started glowing green signaling both of you that his activating his sacred artifact,You instinctively backed away from him and shouted at Kengo to get away, However...
Macan:AHHHHHH! Mad Tiger!,Harimau Gila!,Uraghhh!.
He’s eyes are much more greener than they were and his body grown much more bigger than it was,The crowd cheered in furocity as the summoners watch from Claude’s area,They cheered more loudly to you both, Even the rankers are bewildered as well,Because this is the first time they saw Macan activating his Sacred Artifact during a match, The commentator is yelling in astonishment for the unexpected development of this match. Kengo activates his sacred artifact and you are preparing for Macan”s attacks. But..
Macan: Uraagghhhh!
Harumo: AHHH!.
You’re body recieved hard punches from Macan,However this punches are much more harder than they were before. You used your sword to block the punches however with the force from his punches your guard was shattered,
Kengo:HARUMO!
Macan:RAAAAGH!
You were hit by a punch at the face that feels like a train ran you over and by the force of it you flew directly at the cage wall surrounding the arena. And brought down to your knees gasping for air, It feels like your lungs are struggling to properly distribute the oxygen in your body.
Kengo: URAAAGH! TAKE THIS YOU BASTARD!.
Kengo delivered hard blown combos at Macan filled with rage, Macan then countered his attacks followed by wild punches.
Kengo and Macan: RAAAAGGGGHHH!.
A bloody slugfest is occuring in the arena and the crowd couldn’t be more happier to see such a display of strength. The summoners however are worried for Kengo as they see their friend getting covered in blood and Harumo is trying to recover from the damage he accumelated. In this moment right now Macan has the advantage,
Shiro: Kengo.....Please.....
Ryota:KENGO!.
Toji: Stop this match now!, He’s gonna kill Takabushi.!
Claude: I will not ! This is the climax of every bout,This is the moment all gladiators derive pleasure from,I will not let this match stop until one is left standing.
Toji:Why you..
Moritaka:Toji calm yourself,Kengo wouldn’t want this stop either, You have to believe in Kengo right now, He’’l survive.
Toji:*GRITS HE’S TEETH*
Macan with his overpowering strikes he smashes Kengo’s guard and delivered a punch to the face,Beating him down and he;s body is battered and covered in blood. You watch in horror as you see your friend beat down and about to get eaten. Macan has reach the full ecstacy of a beast and is now unable to control himself from grabbing Kengo and about to bite him. However....
LET....HIM.....GOOOOOO!.
By the words shouted by you. Horkeu Kamui is shocked in belief because the sword on his side started shaking and being pulled from the sheath. And a bright glow emerged from both your swords,
Horkeu Kamui: The ice cleaving blade! It wants to go its master!.
Without hesitation he pulls the sword out of its sheath and it quickly sprang into action and flew towards you, leaving a cold air from its path.
Harumo: A-another sword!?
Everyone is surprise from the sudden apearance followed by a shout from Horkeu saying
Horkeu kamui: My Hero!, The ice cleaving blade will aid you,Use it now!.
Claude and the summoners are surprised by the sudden development aswell as the rankers and Kengo too,Macan however is now being controlled by his instincts to devour his prey and without hesitation you took the sword and now your other sword has a companion to aid you in battle,Both of your swords glowed in different colors,But your own sword is glowing with the colors of the rainbow,
Harumo: Whoah...Allright you’re going down Macan!.
The crowd cheers you on,and without hesitation you rushed towards Macan,He readies himself for the attacks,But your attacks cut him and made him bleed. You attack him in a 2 hit style combo and slashing him on every part on his body you could find..But Macan doesn’t let up,he immediately counters your attacks, however the ice blade with its power to froze anything instantly freezes Macan”s arm slowing his movements giving you a better chance to attack him,and you did,Macan appears to be weakening from your attacks aswell as the punches he recieved from Kengo who is layed down on the arena with his eyes still open, seeing you fight like a madman.
Kengo: Nice one...Partner...
Harumo:Take this!.
You’re about to deliver the finishing slash only to be stopped by the sudden charging from Macan,
Harumo:What the..
Kengo: NO!, HARUMO!.
Macan grabs you both on your arms unabling you from using your twin swords to cut free from his grab. Macan grabs you tightly with both of his hands and about to devour you alive.
Harumo:AHH!.
.
.
.
.
.
With all hope seems lost,Your friends watched in horror as they watch you about to get devoured,Claude’s face turned into a face like they seen someone very precious to them get killed infront of them, Everyone is shocked in silence,The rankers are tried to rush towards the arena to stop him but they won’t be able to make it, Horkeu is filled by rage and quickly dashes towards the arena to strike him,However he won’t be able to make it.
Horkeu Kamui:MY HERO! NOOO!
Summoners:HARUMO!!!!
Everything you see started to move very slowly and as you looked around you see infront of you Macan”s mouth wide open and you can see the sharp fangs and teeth. You watched it happen slowly thinking how to free yourself.
Harumo: Is..is this the end?.
You were about to get eaten without even having your memories returned to you and being with the friends whom are helping you, Are about to be forgoten. BUT....
Kengo: Role of the Barbarian!,Rule of Infinitude! Engrave thy name Kengo Takabushi unto thee. GEANT BASHER!.
Lighting appeared around Kengo wrapping his entire body full of electricity. And without a moments notice he sprang towards Macan kicking him in the face,With force from it so hard,Macan drop his grip of you and flew all the way the cage wall and almost to the brink of breaking.
Kengo:Partner!, Hey!, Hold on!.
Harumo:Ken...go...
After you muttered his name you fell on his hands and fall into a state of unconsciencess,
Kengo:HARUMO!.
He holds you dearly in his arms as you sleep, Macan however is not done yet and stands himself up and ready to pounce at your battered body,However Kengo is really mad,
Kengo:RAAAAAAAAA!.
Rage and fury fill his body, pulling no hesitation in his attacks,He delivered devastating attacks at Macan almost to the point of dead, He over and over punches and kicks Macan everywhere in his body due to the electricity in his body making his attacks sting like crazy. Everyone watches the slughter happen in their eyes and are quite shocked in excitement as the match continues on.
Macan:URAAAGGHHH!.
Kengo:RAAAAAAAAAA!.
The bloody exchanges of blows fills the arena with blood and sweat fom the devasting slugfest,And as time goes on Macan gradually weakens and Kengo seizes the opportunity to deliver the final blow..
Kengo: THIS IS FOR ME!
He punched Macan at his left cheek. Followed by
Kengo: AND THIS IS FOR MY HARUMO!
He delivers the reassuring final blow of his life the most powerful attack he has ever delivered at an opponent.
Kengo:RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
He activated his sacred artifact and punched Macan’s right cheek, flying him towards the cage wall, with the force so great the cage wall broke and Macan landed at the audience knocked out...
Silence fills the entire underground coloseum for the first time, everyone even the guild master as well as he’s butler Snow and the rankers but most especially the summoners,Everyone are silent shut from the upcome and then a few seconds to process everything.
Everyone:*CHEERING LOUDLY*
Shiro: Holy mother of......They did it!.
Ryota: Yey!,, Both of them did it!
Moritaka: My word, This is incredible,
Toji: I never knew Takabushi have that much power.
Claude:HAHAHA!, SPLENDID! AMAZING! This the fight that will go down in history. HAHAHAHAH!
Ryota:Guys come on!, Lets go!
Shiro:Right with you.
Moritaka:Wait for me you two..
Toji:...
[ARENA}
Horkeu Kamui:My Hero..
Horkeu arrived at the arena and sees Kengo holding you with his hands at the back of your head,
Kengo:Hey partner....We..did..it..
Kengo’s body has recieved massive amounts of damage, almost to the brink of unconsciousness.
Horkeu Kamui: Thank you Kengo Takabushi, you have saved my hero,im very grateful.
Kengo: Hey Horkeu..Get him to the infirmary quickly...
Those were the words he spoke before faliing in a state of unconsciousness and
Horkeu Kamui:What the..
Horkeu is shocked and flabbergasted by the sight he is seeing infront of him..
Horkeu Kamui: Don’t worry,Kengo I’’l’ make sure to bring him to the medical staff....
Horkeu carefully separates you too,And gently lifts Kengo on his shoulders followed by you after he returns the ice cleaving blade back to its sheath.
Horkeu Kamui: Hold on you two.
Horkeu waik towards the exit and is suddenly showered by applause of gratitude but not towards Horkeu, But rather to the two unconcious bodies you’re carrying. The audience is fully aware that you can’t answer right now,but they feel the need to congratulate you and Kengo for the amazing battle you three did,
The summoners had just arrived at the exit where Horkeu is,
Shiro: Kengo! Harumo!..
Ryota:Oh my gosh! they are both covered in blood.
Horkeu Kamui: Do not worry,They are just unconcious,
Moritaka: Thank you Horkeu Kamui, Im grateful for your assistance.
Horkeu Kamui: No need to thank me.. I need to get this two to the infirmary quickly.
Snow: May i assist you Horkeu Kamui?.
Ryota:What the....When did you get here Snow?.
Shiro:What about Macan? Shouldn’t you be assisting him?
Snow: My master requested me to bring them to the infirmary as quickly as possible. but worry not  ,Andvari has already called the medical staff so he should be fine.
Horkeu Kamui: Thank you Snow.
Snow: My pleasure, Allow me to carry Kengo for you, that will lighten up your task.

Part One
“So what happened with Chargebolt?” Once you were both back to your car, you finally felt comfortable enough to ask Molly about what had happened at the meet and greet.
“Oh y/n! Oh, it was absolutely amazing! I kept peeking around the girl in front of me when I got up close, and he totally caught me looking. I was so embarrassed, he just kind of stared at me and I felt like I was on fire. He smiled at me and then he winked and I felt like I would pass out on the spot.” Glancing over, you saw Molly was absolutely glowing. Her hands were flying everywhere to emphasize how excited she was. You chuckled looking at her. “That’s not even the best part though y/n! When I finally got my turn to go up to him, he asked my name and told me I was really cute and asked if I’d stay after so I could talk to him more!” Your jaw dropped as Molly went on. You knew your best friend was drop-dead gorgeous, and the best person in the world. But who would’ve ever guessed her all-time favorite pro would be immediately taken with her?
“Molly! That’s amazing! But... it didn’t take you long to come out and find me after..” realizing what your friend must’ve done you felt a wave of shame and guilt wash over you. “Molly please tell me you waited for him. Please don’t say you left to come find me instead.” The guilty look she threw you made your stomach sink.
“It’s not like that y/n. I did wait. I figured since I sent Red Riot after you that you’d be alright waiting a little longer. I knew you’d kill me if I didn’t wait for him. So I did! But I definitely left quicker than he would’ve liked… BUT guess what!” Before you could get a word out she interrupted you. “Kaminari and I are getting together tomorrow after his patrol! As long as you’re alright that is.” She looked over at you and you could briefly see that worry back there.
“Kaminari huh? Looks like you two got close real fast. I told you he’d love you! And Molly… I’ll be okay. It’s just going to take some time right?” That’s what you were hoping. That your quirk would be back in the morning. Or that you’d figure out what had happened.
“Y/n, you never told me exactly what happened back there. Why can’t you hear anything anymore?”
“It was weird Mol. You know how I hate being deep in the city like that. Around so many people. Their thoughts were so loud. It was starting to become too much. I pushed through though. For a bit. I was determined to be with you when you met him. Although it turns out you didn’t really need my help did you?” Throwing a quick glance over your shoulder you saw her blush. “Anyway, when we got into that line and Chargebolt came out it got so loud. I was about to excuse myself for a moment when… I don’t know. Everything was too much and then I saw him looking at me and all of a sudden… nothing. I totally freaked Mol. The silence was so loud. I felt like I was drowning in it. So I went outside. And then that stupid hero tried to come to my rescue. Who does he think he is anyway? He doesn’t know me. What could he possibly do to help?”
“Wait back up, are you telling me when you looked at Red Riot it all went silent?” Molly was staring at you with her eyebrow quirked.
“Yes. That is exactly what I’m telling you. What’s your point?”
“Well, that seems… sort of like something you would read in a romance novel doesn’t it? Young pretty girl looks at hot young man and all the voices in her head go silent? Sounds kind of dreamy to me.” Glancing over at her, you noticed she was wiggling her eyebrows at you.
“Molly this is serious! My quirk is straight-up gone and all you can think about is some dumb fantasy? Even if it was some weird ‘hey this guy is your soulmate’ kind of thing you know me better than that. Never a hero. Never. But that’s beside the point! Molly, it’s gone and I can’t hear what anybody is thinking now. As nice as it is to get some peace for once in my life my spatial awareness is so fucked up. Normally I can tell when people are close to me without seeing them. Some asshole back there slammed into me and knocked me down and I didn’t even know he was there until I was on the ground. I have no idea what’s wrong with me and I’m scared, Molly.” She had gone silent beside you. The drive back to your house felt like it was taking years instead of an hour.
“I’m sorry y/n. You’re right. I should be taking this seriously. We’ll figure this out. Do you want to go see a doctor? Maybe they’ll be able to find something wrong?”
“Molly if I went to a doctor I’d be a guinea pig. Have you ever heard of someone’s quirk disappearing? Because I haven’t. I’ll figure this out. I’ll be okay. I couldn’t control my quirk very well anyway, right? Who needs it.” But the truth was you were terrified. You felt wrong. Empty. The quiet was so loud.
-----------------------------------------------------
It had been a week since then. As much as you were hoping your quirk would be there when you woke up. It wasn’t. Everything was still quiet. If you were being honest though, after the first few days of being absolutely terrified and feeling helpless and empty, you were starting to enjoy the quiet. It was nice to hear the birds all of the time instead of only when you were 100% alone. Getting used to having to pay attention to your surroundings had been a challenge. And your job performance was taking a severe hit. Having to wait for people to actually tell you their order before you could start making it made things take a bit longer than you’d like. You were about to start getting ready for work when your phone rang. Walking over to pick it up from the counter you saw Molly’s contact picture and answered.
“Y/n! Are you busy right now?”
“Actually yeah. I was just about to get ready for my shift at the cafe, why?”
“Oh dangit. Kaminari is coming over today and I was hoping you would come meet him.” Molly had been talking to the pro hero every day since meeting him. She practically saw him every day too. You knew it was only a matter of time before she wanted to introduce you two. You were thankful to have work as an excuse to put it off. As much as you loved her, you weren’t ready to try and befriend a pro hero.
“I’m sorry Mol. We’ll meet eventually I’m sure. I have to go get ready now but have fun! Don’t get zapped.” You heard her start laughing as you hung up.
----------------------------------------------------
A few hours into your shift things started to slow down. You relished the time when the cafe was empty. It gave you a chance to catch up but also admire the view outside. The little cafe you worked at was on the outskirts of the city. Right across from a nature park that was empty more often than not. You loved to look out at the trees and flowers when you got the chance. It’s where you spent your lunch breaks too. Which you decided to do right now. Telling your coworker to man the front, you grabbed your lunch and crossed the street. Laying under your favorite tree you decided to try and figure out what had made your quirk disappear. This had become a daily thing. Taking about 30 minutes to try and piece it together and then pretending it didn’t exist the rest of the time. It had become the best way for you to manage it. Unfortunately, you weren’t any closer to an answer as you were when it happened. You were running out of theories.
Thirty minutes passed by and you slammed shut your notebook and headed back to the cafe frustrated. You didn’t particularly notice the customers who were in the shop as you went into the back and put your things away.
“Hey! I’m back from lunch if you want to go take your break!” Your coworker was smiling at you just a little too widely for your liking and you cursed your quirk for disappearing. “Why are you looking at me like that? Is there something on my face?”
“No there’s nothing on your face. You didn’t tell me you knew Red Riot!” You felt heat rush to your cheeks. How did your coworker even know you had met Red Riot?
“What are you even talking about? I met him last week and promptly told him to leave me alone. I don’t really consider that knowing someone. How did you even know about that?”
“Well if that’s the case, it looks like someone doesn’t know how to listen. I’m gonna go on my break but I expect all the details when I get back!” She wiggled her eyebrows at you as she pushed past you into the back room. Why did what she said make your stomach do a flip? Peeking around the corner into the shop you caught a glimpse of someone sitting right at the counter. He was drinking coffee and looking at his phone, occasionally looking around. His red hair was spiked up the same way it had been when you had met. But he wasn’t wearing his hero costume. Just a normal t-shirt. He looked surprisingly more human this way. Why the hell was her here though? No pros came to this shop. Favoring the fancier shops in the city. You weren’t complaining about that though. You preferred the quiet nature of this place. Taking a deep breath you walked out to the counter. He looked up as you walked out and his face lit up. His smile was bright. It reminded you of the sun. Shaking your head you tried to rid your mind of any thoughts about him other than what he was doing here.
“So what, pro heroes are stalkers now?” You cringed internally at how rash that had sounded. He may be a hero but he didn’t deserve immediate cruelty. His smile dropped off his face for a moment before turning into a smaller smirk.
“Denki told me the coffee here was really good, and that you made it the best. So here I am.” His smile grew a little wider as he spoke. You noticed his teeth were pointed and looked razor-sharp. Like a shark.
“Well, that’s amusing considering I’ve never met him and he most certainly hasn’t been here while I was working.” He furrowed his eyebrows at that. Before he could think too much on it you had a realization and interrupted him.
“How did he tell you? Was it in person?” He looked up at you, clearly confused.
“No, he texted me an hour ago, why?”
“Molly… that asshole. She’s been with him all day. I’d be willing to bet it was her not him. She isn’t particularly happy with me for the way I treated you last week.” You looked at him apologetically.
“Well, that’s okay. You were obviously going through something. Even if it wasn’t Denki, the coffee here is definitely worth it. Why isn’t this place more popular?” You chuckled at that.
“You think that coffee is good? Molly wasn’t lying. We do it pretty well here, but I make it best. What’s your order, I’ll make you another.” He smiled at you and told you his order. You quickly went about making it. Catching him smiling as he watched you from the other side of the counter. You were going to kill Molly later. But for the moment you completely forgot he was a hero. Just enjoying that bright smile. You placed his coffee in front of him and watched as he tipped it back. He closed his eyes for a moment before he spoke.
“That is on a whole different level than the one the other girl gave me. How did you do that?” He was staring at you with wide eyes. You laughed at the face he was making.
“I guess I’m just that good. I’ve been doing this for a while, you tend to pick up on little things after time.” You smiled as he took another, longer drink. He looked happy. He looked up at you and caught you smiling.
“That looks good on you you know. You have a really nice smile. I’m glad I finally got to see it.” Heat rushed to your cheeks as he looked to you. Thankfully at that moment a customer came in and walked up to the counter. You cleared your throat and internally begged your face to cool down.
“Hi! What can I get for you?” You recognized the customer, but you didn’t remember his name.
“You have to ask? Thought you had everyone’s orders memorized by now. You usually start on it right as I walk in. Are you alright?” You felt guilty for having to lie to him. He wasn’t the first customer to ask though. So you automatically launched into the story you had made up to tell them all.
“I’m sorry! I was in an accident last week and I’ve been having some memory issues ever since. I’m sure I’ll get back into it quickly! Just have to relearn everyone’s order.” You saw Red Riot look up at you and furrow his brow when you said that. You silently prayed he wouldn’t ask you about it.
“I’m sorry! I’m sure you’ll get back into it in a jiffy. You’re everyone’s favorite barista for a reason!” Your heart warmed a little at the praise. You gave a small smile to the customer.
“So what can I get for you? And this is super embarrassing after all of that praise, but I’m afraid the memory loss may have also caused me to forget your name.” The customer quirked an eyebrow at that. You had never really had to remember anything about your customers. Whenever they came in they were always thinking about their orders, so you heard them fresh every day. You had always heard their names before they said them too. Why would you take the time to remember it when the information was always immediately available to you? You missed this aspect of your quirk. Not being able to hear what everyone was thinking all of the time had its downfalls.
“The name is Everett. I’ll have a double espresso please.” You immediately started making his drink as quickly as possible, hoping to make up for your lack of quirk. Behind you, you heard a very audible gasp.
“Are you Red Riot? The pro hero?” Hearing the redhead chuckle you felt your heart drop. You had let yourself forget for a moment that he was a hero. All of the nice things he had said to you began to feel like a dagger in your chest. You would never allow yourself to befriend a hero. Finishing Everetts drink you turned and went to hand it to him and saw he was now deep in conversation with the pro. You weren’t listening to the conversation. You didn’t care to hear about the nonsense heroes and their fans talk about.
“Here you go Everett. Hope it makes up for all of my issues.” You smiled at him and went to turn around to clean the counter when you heard him say your name.
“Doesn’t y/n make the best coffee? I’m not surprised that a pro finally made their way to this place. It’s amazing it has stayed as quiet as it has this long.” Red Riot smiled and looked up at you.
“The coffee is absolutely amazing. It’s like a dream. I have a feeling I’ll be here pretty often.” Your heart sank even further and you frowned. Turning to clean up your station, determined not to turn back around unless you absolutely had to. You heard the bell at the door and glanced over to see Everett leaving.
“What happened to you last week?” You closed your eyes and sighed.
“That’s none of your business Red Riot.” You said it harshly. More harshly than you meant to. But you were hurt. Why would the world bless a hero with a smile as bright as that?
“Please call me Kirishima. Everyone else calls me by my hero name. It’d be nice if you didn’t. And look I know last week is obviously a sensitive subject, but if it was bad enough that you’re having memory issues you should’ve let me help you. What if I could’ve prevented it?” Your entire body immediately felt like it had been lit on fire as the anger flooded your veins. You turned and gave him a look that could kill. A look filled with cold, seething rage.
“I do not need some hero to help me. My life is none of your business. Leave.” He looked taken aback by your words.
“Why do you say it like that? Like it’s a bad thing? It’s okay to need help y/n. Everyone does.” You hated the way that your heart melted when he said your name. But much bigger than that you hated that he was a hero. You hated every word he said. You felt your body getting hotter when you heard the bell ring and heard Molly’s laughter coming in. She looked at you and it immediately halted. She ran behind the counter and looked from you to Red Riot. She pushed her way in front of you and grabbed your face.
“Y/n. Y/n go home. Now. I’ve got the counter. Go.” Looking at her, she seemed to be the only real thing for a moment. Her words sank into your mind and you turned and left the shop without a word.
----------------------------------------
Molly sighed as she watched you walk out. Thanking God she had convinced Denki to come to the shop. He was standing by the door still looking incredibly confused. Kirishima was staring out the door too.
“I should have known better than to tell you to come here Kirishima. I’m sorry.” Molly put her head in her hands. Denki walked up to the counter quickly.
“You alright babe? What the hell just happened? She looked ready to kill someone. What did you say to piss her off Kiri?” Denki was looking from Molly to Kirishima.
“I didn’t really say anything. She told a customer she was in an accident last week and that she was having memory problems. When he left I asked why she wouldn’t let me help her last week. And she just. She got so mad.” Kirishima looked back at the door. Molly sighed again.
“Listen. It’s not my story to tell. Short and simple of it, y/n doesn’t like heroes. She hates the whole premise of you guys. Something major happened at the event. Don’t ask me about it. It’s really not up to me to tell you. I’ve only seen her with that look one time before though… I’m just glad I got here when I did.” Molly had flashbacks to that night. Seeing your face then, seeing it now. It was too close. Way too close. Denki cleared his throat.
“Do you even know how to make coffee?” Molly looked up at him confused. Realization set in and she laughed.
“Denki I started here at the same time y/n did. We bought this place together. Even if it is just hers now. I’ve got the counter handled.” Both men looked up at you.
“Wait you guys own this shop?” Kirishima looked around the place again as she continued to laugh.
“It was always y/n’s dream to own her own cafe. Let’s just say dear old dad would do anything to keep me quiet about certain things. So I got her this place! It’s a long story. But when your dad’s a rich asshole there’s really only one benefit.” Denki raised an eyebrow at her.
“Babe you’re so hot.”
“Oh my god, Denki. Not here.” Molly was laughing again. But she saw the way Kirishima was looking down at his cup. She pitied him. If only he hadn’t been a hero.

Uhh, hello!! I’m kinda new to this so uhh— yeah.
I was wondering if I could get an s/o headcannon with Eichi where Eichi has a heart attack and almost dies(as he does).
Uhh, thanks a lot I guess!!
I am REALLY horrible at this —–
don’t worry about it!! this is a submission darling, next time you wanna do a request, go to the ask !! i mean this can work as well but usually sending it via ask is easier! don’t worry about it my friend, your request has arrived and now i shall send to you as you please!! i LOVE those types of scenarios omg i hope it isnt too angst filled
P.S. ONCE AGAIN i have messed up and im BLIND, i forgot you said headcanons and wrote a scenario omg. tho i feel like a scenario was easier to work with for this request, i do apologise once again
And remember, get calcium!♠
Humans aren’t as oblivious as one may think. Either one feigns utter ignorance, or they’re purely blinded to what’s in front of them; as much as one tried, it was impossible to ignore the straining feeling that something was breaking.
The bond of your relationship was thinning till the point of snapping, and that frightened you. You hated the fact that it had to reach this far for you to decide to take action, and you felt a strong build up of anger at Eichi for showing no effort in bringing it up either; choosing to live in a fake blissfulness as if everything is how it should be.
To be fair, both of you were at fault for never picking up the matter when it should’ve been addressed the moment it was planted in this relationship; this ticking bomb that was ready to explode.
It all started when Eichi began to act distant towards you, constant clipped responses as he excused himself to being busy whenever you tried to get together with him outside of school, or even on weekends. At first you began to wonder if you’ve done something to greatly upset him, but your trust in him rejected the idea, falsifying it that he’d never be petty enough to do such a thing, especially with you.
Marching down the hallway to the student council room, your anger numbing all the rationality in your mind, you barged into the office; not caring whether you were interfering on something important.
You hoped to find him alone, but he was seated with Wataru on the main desk discussing some paperwork. In good will, Wataru waves at you, smiling brightly, “Why hello! Now that’s one way of making an entrance!”
You smiled, although bitterly, “hello. Wataru, if you may, please leave.” Seeing his dumbfounded expression, your smile dropped as you explained, “I wish to speak to Eichi. Alone.”
He glanced between you and him multiple times before getting the hint and excusing himself hurriedly, exiting the room and closing the door behind him with a click. Facing Eichi, it only occurred to you now how his eyes were sharp as he stared at you, either coldly or calculatingly, you didn’t know.
If you weren’t so aggravated yourself, you would’ve felt hurt.
“What’s the meaning of this?” He asked, setting down the papers and reclining back on his chair.
“Oh don’t start with me,” stomping forward, you felt the venom rise up in your throat as you confronted him, “I’m here because you just refuse to talk to me; what’s gotten into you?! You seem to have forgotten me entirely!”
“That’s not true,” he defended, standing up to hold a stronger stance, “I’ve been-“
“-busy. Yeah, I know,” completing his sentence, you saw his eyebrows hitch upwards, “avoiding me like wild fire, you spend more time with everyone else but me, what’re you even busy doing?”
“Are you jealous? Is that it?”
Hearing him say that made you feel like he was belittling the problem, and most importantly, he wasn’t taking it or you seriously.
“Jealous?!” Shocked, you couldn’t help but lightly shake your head at him as your whole expression soured, “is that what it looks like to you? Because from what I see it, you’ve been rejecting me.”
Crossing your arms defensively, Eichi takes the initiative to close the space between you two as he walks around the table to approach you, “rejecting you? Just because I’ve been busy doesn’t mean I think any less of you,”
“Really? Because if that was the case, I wouldn’t be here.”
“What’s the issue here? I don’t understand.”
By now, he’s standing right in front you, and somehow you couldn’t find the words in you to vocalise them. There was so much to begin with that you didn’t know where to start, perhaps breaking it down will make it simpler, to when all this began to affect your feelings and view of the relationship; perhaps in the end of the day, it was a distorted glance produced from lack of communication, and he was in fact seeing something else.
Before being able to begin however, time must’ve run out in his head as he sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, closing both his eyes momentarily, “look I know this is important to you, but could we please discuss this later?”
His words snapped you out of your resolve, back into a dark world where the problem seemed to only stretch further and further.
“I’m sorry, I’ve got things to tend to.”
“Later? When exactly is this ‘later’, hm? Because this is the first time in two weeks that we’ve talked for longer than a minute! And it’s about our relationship problem, it’s about us, and you’re refusing to put down whatever you’re doing just to talk to me?” Something must’ve cracked by then, because you’ve wanted to do anything but look at him at this moment, “I’m through with you!”
Screaming that out must’ve ripped your heart in two as your voice cracked at the very end, yet there were no tears, just a sting in your eyes as you turned around, too quick to see his genuinely perturbed expression as he reached out a hand to you and called your name.
“Wait!”
Without turning back, you headed straight for the door. He rushed after you, aiming to hold your wrist when a sharp pang in his chest held him back, gasping for air as he immediately gripped his chest, balling the fabric in his fists. Hearing that, you froze at the door, your hand on the doorknob.
Not now.
Beads of sweat rolled down his forehead and he instantly felt cold, his palms and back all felt clammy as he fell to his knees, coughing violently, his right hand shot out to catch himself, resting heavily on the tea table beside him. His mouth was open agape, yet no air went in as all he did was choke on it, coughing more and more.
Whirling around, your eyes widened at the sight of him sinking to the ground, “oh my god.” you breathed.
Rushing to his side, you regretted your earlier words as you began to beat on his back, hoping that would help someway.
“You’re going to be okay!”
Panic consumed you, as this never happened when you were around, you were inexperienced and unprepared on what to do. Your eyes then began to tear up, and fear on his well being began to creep on you.
His coughing was unrelenting, and you spring to life to do something - anything. You motioned to stand up, when Eichi grabbed your sleeves desperately, his body shaking and breathing turning rigid.
“Eichi?” Your voice shook, staring at him in confusing as you watched him sway, going in and out of consciousness as he fell back, but you caught him by his shoulders, “Eichi! Hey, stay with me!”
Laying him on his back, your heart was going to beat out of your chest as everything fell to a frenzy. With your hands splayed on his chest, you clumsily began to preform an amateur first aid on him, tears spilling as the only thing you found yourself doing was pumping his chest and begging him to stay awake.
He was practically wheezing, and kneading on your sleeve, he looked like he wanted to say something, but all that came out was heaving and cut up coughs.
“Save your breath!” You instructed, “I don’t know what I’m doing but please stay awake! Am I helping?!”
Unable to give a response, you saw him completely shut down; eyelids closing as everything fell to an unnerving halt. Your heart fell to your feet, and you weren’t sure whether it was denial or desperation, but you found yourself continuing the first aid, occasionally cupping his face and searching for any sign of life in him.
Crying out for help this time, luck was on your side as there was a boy near by who heard your pleas; and getting a firm look on the situation, ran to get the nurse as quick as possible.
                                                           —-
“I’m sorry,”
Before even opening his eyes to the familiar white washed walls and bed sheets that he knew he must be surrounded by, he allowed his meek hushed voice to spill the thoughts that were on his mind but was unable to speak. He could feel the humid sensation around his noise and lips which probably indicated an oxygen mask.
Relief washed over you as you heard his voice. Standing up from your seat that was situated beside the bed, you felt sore from how long you were sitting but you didn’t care as you leaned over him, tears reforming in your eyes as you smiled.
“How did you know it’s me?” you whispered back.
“Oh you know...there’s a connection between lovers. I just know...”
How cheesy.
He musters a weak sheepish smile, before slowly fluttering open his eyes. They were so gentle and kind, just like how you remembered them. Sniffling and letting out a shaky breathe, your lip began quivering as you apologised to him.
“No,” he reaches out towards you with his left hand and tenderly brushes your cheek with his index finger in an attempt to wipe your tears, “I’m sorry. I didn’t listen to you when you wanted to talk to me, and it lead to an unnecessary fight. I should’ve listened...”
Coughing slightly, you held his hand that was on your cheek, “maybe I went overboard,”
“Not at all, I’d be hurt too if you were distancing yourself. I only realise now my ridiculous actions, I truly was distancing myself without realising it, I only ask if you can forgive me.”
Smiling softly, you shake your head, “don’t worry, I forgive you. Sometimes we do stupid things, and it’s all because we’re under stress.”
“I’ll be better.” he promised.
Raising an eyebrow, you grinned, “first, get better.”

♡ Tip Jar♡
Tumblr media
It was finally spring break, and for once, you’d managed to get the week off to spend with the kids. Birds chirped outside as you sipped your coffee and looked out the window, enjoying your momentary morning silence before the kids woke up. That morning, you’d sent Eunbi off to work with a cup of coffee and a kiss, and now, as you heard the kids sleepily talking in the hallway, you couldn’t help but wish she could be there. Being a celebrity was a lot harder to take a break from, but you’d already taken the kids to both the zoo and the nearby children’s cafe by yourself, and the entire time, you’d missed her. A part of the family was missing, and it just didn’t feel right.
As you stood up to start breakfast, an idea hit you, and you turned to meet your kids just as the patter of their little feet reached the kitchen. Their eyes were wide and sleepy, and you smiled, bending down their level.
“Good morning you two. Did you sleep well?”
The oldest Youngjae yawned and nodded while his younger sister Hwayoung blinked and nuzzled against the blanket she insisted on carrying with her when she was at home.
“Great! Now, I have an idea. How would you like to go visit mommy at work?” At the mention of their mommy, both the kids perked up. You weren’t the only one missing her.
“Really?” Asked Youngjae, waking up a little more and reaching up to tug on your shirt. You smiled and nodded.
“Really! We can bring her lunch, doesn’t that sound fun?”
“It’s fun,” said Hwayoung, and you reached over to affectionately ruffle her hair, making her laugh. She was only two, and she was so cute it made your heart hurt sometimes.
“Let’s do it! Can we cook her lunch? I wanna help!” Youngjae bounced on the balls of his feet, showing how excited he was. At six, he now wanted to help with everything, and you found it endearing. Although you were not going to let him anywhere near the stove.
“You can help. But first we have to brush our teeth and wash our faces. Show of hands, who brushed our teeth this morning?” You raised your hand and laughed softly when your kids avoided your eyes. “That’s what I thought. Go wash up and I’ll finish getting breakfast ready. Then we can work on lunch for mommy. Does that sound good?”
“Yes!” Youngjae yelled, turned around, almost knocked his sister over, tripped and caught himself, then grabbed her hand and dragged her towards the bathroom. Again, you laughed and shook your head as you stood up to finish the rice and sausages. He was so energetic.
By the time the two of them got back (with Hwayoung’s hair soaking wet, making you realize that you’d probably have to give her a bath before you left) the table was set for breakfast and Youngjae scrambled into his seat, yelling his thank-you’s. You helped Hwayoung into her chair and handed her a spoon as your soon started to ask questions.
“What are we making for mommy? Does she know we’re coming? What’s she working on today? Why couldn’t she stay home like you? What would be best for mommy to eat for lunch?”
“Mommy is preparing to have a comeback, so she has to work. You like hearing her sing, right?”
“Yeah!”
“So she has to work, even though she wants to be home with us. We can help her by bringing her something really yummy to eat. What do you think mommy would like to eat today?”
“Dessert,” Hwayoung said immediately, making you laugh. They did know their mommy well.
“True, but you can’t just eat dessert for lunch!”
“I would,” Youngjae said, and you shook your head.
“But then you wouldn’t get the strength needed for the rest of the day! You would just want to take a nap.”
“Oh.”
“We can bring mommy dessert,” you assured them, “but we have to bring her something for lunch too. What sounds good for lunch?”
“Tteokbokki! Let’s eat tteokbokki!” Youngjae yelled, holding his hand up high like he was answering a question at school. Beside you, Hwayoung nodded her head in agreement, nibbling on a sausage. It was a good idea, Eunbi loved tteokbokki and it would be sure to give her energy.
“Good choice! I’m sure she’ll enjoy tteokbokki!”
“Yay! Can I help? Please?”
“Pwease?” Hwayoung echoed, and you swallowed, rubbing your temples against the headache you could already feel coming on. But the headache would only worsen if you didn’t allow them to help somehow, so you sighed and gave in.
“Okay, but you have to do exactly what I say, okay? We want to make sure it tastes good, right?”
-
Time passed pretty fast when you were busy. After you’d given Hwayoung a bath, you went about pulling out outfits for the kids to wear and figuring out how to make tteokbokki in a way where the kids could help. By the time you were filling four individualized containers with a well-prepped lunch, it was already almost noon. You pulled down a bag to carry the lunches in while Youngjae got out four cookies and four macaroons and put them carefully into a baggie before handing them to you, his eyes sparkling with pride.
“Good job,” you praised him, giving him a wide smile and picking up the bag to put in on his level so that he could put the bags in. Once he was finished, you put the bag on your arm and looked around the kitchen. Everything from cooking was cleaned up, and Youngjae was putting the cookie jar away. In her chair at the table, Hwayoung was humming and coloring away, already dressed. After a quick glance in the mirror to make sure you still looked okay (raising kids could make you look a mess) you turned to the two kids and smiled. “Ready to go?”
“Ready!” Youngjae raced for the door as you picked Hwayoung up from her seat, and he already had his shoes on when you joined him.
“Are you excited to see mommy?” You asked, amused as you bent over to help your daughter put on her shoes. He nodded, bouncing on his feet, and threw open the door as soon as you had your shoes on.
“Let’s go!” With that, he was out the door, with Hwayoung toddling after him, leaving you to laugh and quickly lock the door behind you to keep up. Secretly, you were just as excited as they were.
-
Thankfully, Eunbi’s entertainment company wasn’t far away, so you got there without any drama in the back seat. With your purse and the bag over your shoulders, you reached down to hold your kid’s hands, guiding them inside and impressing yourself with just how strong you’d become after becoming a mother. When you walked inside, the woman at the front desk happily waved at the kids, who waved back.
“Awe, hey guys! Are you here to see Eunbi?”
“Yeah!” Youngjae said, once again nodding hard enough to give anyone else a headache.
“We are. Do you know where she might be?” You asked, and the woman nodded.
“I think she’s in one of the recording rooms right now, but I would bet that they’re just about to go on lunch. Here’s a visitor’s pass.” She handed a badge over, and you dropped your son’s hand for a second to take it before quickly grabbing his hand before he could run off.
“Thank you so much. Have a great day. Now, come on kids, let’s go see mommy.” You smiled at the woman and waited for the kids to wave and say thank you before the three of you headed towards the elevators. Thankfully, you already knew the layout, so no escort would be needed.
As soon as you stepped out of the elevator and rounded the corner, you saw Chaewon in one of the rooms, opening up her lunch. As soon as Hwayoung saw her, she let out a squeal and broke away from you to run inside.
“Aunt Chaewon!”
Chaewon looked up, startled, then smiled widely and jumped up from her chair to hold out her arms and scoop the two year old up, laughing. “Hwayoung! What are you doing here?”
“I’m here too, Aunt Chaewon!” said Youngjae, running over as well, and Chaewon turned to pat his head.
“So you are. I’m glad to see you guys! Are you here to surprise Eunbi?”
“We are,” you said, walking in to set the heavy bag on the table and giving Chaewon a smile. “We were all missing her a lot at home. Is she free?”
“She was missing you all a lot too, she was sad she couldn’t take any time off.” Chaewon giggled and hugged Hwayoung and Youngjae to her. “You guys are just so cute! She should be done with her recording soon, she was going to join me to eat. I don’t think she ordered anything to eat yet.”
“Good.”
“Aunt Chaewon, we helped make tteokbokki today!”
“Oh really Youngjae? That’s awesome!”
You smiled as you watched your daughter curl into Chaewon’s shoulder as Youngjae talked happily. They did love their aunts. Just as you were about to excuse yourself to find Eunbi, Yena turned the corner with Yuri behind her and gasped.
“Hwayoung, Youngjae!”
“Aunt Yena!” Youngjae ran over, almost knocking her over in a hug, as Hwayoung waved her little hand and said “hi, Aunt Yena, Aunt Yuri.”
“Hey you two, hey (Y/N),” Yuri said, laughing as Youngjae turned to give her a hug too. “What a surprise! It’s great to see you guys!”
“You didn’t come give me a hug,” Yena said, playfully marching over to Hwayoung, who squealed happily and hid her face in Chaewon’s face. The other woman laughed and stucked her tongue out at Yena.
“She just likes her Aunt Chaewon more.”
“No way! Hwayoung, do you like me too?”
“Yeah,” came her little muffled voice, and you laughed affectionately as Yena put her hand to her heart and dramatically sighed.
“At least I have that, then.”
“What’s all the noise about?” Eunbi asked as she turned the corner, papers in her hand, then her eyes widened and she started to grin. “Babe? Oh my god, what are you guys doing here?”
“We came to bring you lunch,” you said with a smile as both the kids broke from their aunts and ran to the door, yelling for their mom. She laughed and bent over to hug them both, giving them both a kiss on the cheek and forehead before picking Hwayoung up and taking Youngjae’s hand.
“What a great surprise! What did you bring me?”
“Tteokbokki, and I helped,” Youngjae said proudly, and Eunbi gasped.
“Really? Thank you so much! I’m sure it’ll be delicious!”
“Let me get it out!” He broke away from her to run to the bag and she turned her attention to you, smiling affectionately and putting her now-free arm around your shoulders.
“Was this your idea?” She asked, teasing you just a bit, and you giggled, shrugging your shoulders.
“I might have missed you. But they missed you too.”
“I missed you too,” Eunbi said, before giving you a short kiss. Hwayoung, apparently annoyed by this, wiggled out of her arms to run back over to Chaewon, and Eunbi put her hand to her heart, pretending to be hurt. “Can I not kiss your mom in front of you?”
“No! Gross!” Hwayoung stuck out her tongue and Chaewon laughed as she picked her up.
“You’ll understand it one day.”
“Let’s eat!” Youngjae called, having set out the containers and settled into a seat at the table.
“Yes, let’s! I’m starving.” Eunbi answered him before leaning in to give you one more kiss. “I love you,” she said, her eyes twinkling, and you reached up to tuck a piece of her hair behind her ear, amazed that she was just as beautiful as she had been the day you married her. This was as close as you could get to perfection, and you were more than satisfied.
“Mom, mommy, it’s gonna get cold!”
You laughed, breaking out of your trance and walking over to give both of your kids a hug, and Eunbi followed suit, looking much more energized than she had that morning. “Alright, let’s eat,” she said, sitting down in the chair beside you and taking your hand to give it a little squeeze. “And afterwards, I’ll show you guys how I’m recording my songs. Does that sound fun?”
“Yeah!”

Flashbacks & Forewarnings
A JSE Fanfic
There are a lot of different scenes in this one, but don’t worry, it’s not too long. About medium length for my fics, I’d say. First of all, we get a peek into one of JJ’s memories. Then we check in on Dr. Laurens and Schneep, see how they’re doing since it’s been a while. And there’s some minor other stuff as well. I know it seems like it’s a day late, but that’s because I’m moving my fic-posting day to Monday. Hope you guys like this one!
You can find the other stories under the pw timeline tag!
Midafternoon sunlight was streaming through the window. Jameson leaned over to look out the window, glancing downward at the street a few stories below. Then he took his watch out of his pocket and checked the time. Almost four o’clock already? It was almost time to leave. JJ began tidying up, starting the process of going home and getting things ready for the next person to man the desk.
“Hmm? Oh, are you leaving, Mr. Jackson?” Claire, the intern, noticed his cleaning up.
JJ nodded. He paused for a moment, grabbing his notebook and pen from the surface of the desk nearby. Do you know who’s on the next shift?
Claire paused for a moment to read the question; though she was trying to learn BSL, she wasn’t able to hold a conversation yet. “Uhh...I think it’s Mr. Haddock,” she said.
That was what he suspected. Do you think you can handle things until he arrives? JJ asked. He didn’t want to put too much pressure on Claire—she was only sixteen, after all.
“Yeah, no problem,” she said. “Uhh...I just have to monitor the phone, right?”
JJ nodded again. Accepting phone calls was the highest priority part of the job, and also the only thing he couldn’t do. Sending emails, making sure things were filed correctly, getting things from the supply room, all that was alright. But not the phone, for obvious reasons. Luckily, answering phone calls usually fell to the interns. Don’t be afraid to ask Mr. Patterson for help. It should only be ten minutes or so until Timothy arrives, but just to be sure.
“Thanks, Mr. Jackson. Oh! Uh, wait.” Claire made a simple gesture. Thank you.
JJ smiled encouragingly. You’re picking that up quick!
“Really?” Claire brightened up. “Thanks!” She repeated the sign.
JJ stood up, gathering his stuff. I’ll see you tomorrow, he signed, edging around the desk and heading towards the elevator.
“See you.”
Now heading on his way down, Jameson checked his bag, pulling out his phone. Huh...it seemed he had quite a few texts from Chase. He scrolled through the notifications, ending up at the first one, which read: Hey J, remember that thing the detectives called me about ths morning? About Jackie? The second one read: Did you get my last text? The third one read: JJ i really have to talk to you about this. Should i call Marv first? And so on with increasing urgency.
Reading through the messages, Jameson could feel his pulse rising, tense. He’d almost forgotten about the events of that morning. A long day at work was bound to do that. The question had always sort of been lingering in his mind, though. They’d found some sort of break in Jackie’s case. That had to be a good thing, right? A pessimistic part of him pointed out that a “break in the case” didn’t always mean they’d found the missing person. Sometimes it meant they’d found the missing person’s body—
Jameson stepped out of the elevator, forcibly leaving that thought behind. It wasn’t the case this time. It couldn’t be. Even though he hadn’t known Jackie as long as Chase or Marvin had, he still knew him. And he knew he wasn’t the type to go down easily. Quickly, he opened up his texts and started replying to Chase. Sorry I didn’t see any of this, I was at work :( Just got off the lift now. What happened?
Chase didn’t respond for a minute or so, long enough for JJ to walk out of the building and into the crisp October air. But his reply came soon. Oh I forgot about that! Im so sorry.
No no, it’s not your fault. But do tell what happened. What did the detectives say?
The little typing bubble stayed up for a long time. JJ had arrived at the close-by bus stop by the time Chase finally said what he was planning. Uh...actually, can i call you about this? I know you cant answer, and you can say no, i just think itll be easier to say instead of type.
That...wasn’t a good sign. Sure? Jameson typed slowly. I can whistle or something if you need a response.
Immediately, his phone started ringing. JJ almost instinctively declined the call, but caught himself just in time and picked it up. Chase’s voice came through easily from the other side. “JJ? You there, bro?” JJ whistled a yes. “Okay good. Okay. Uhh...this is weird, not being able to see you. But anyway. The thing this morning. The good news is that Schneep’s first doctor showed up! So now he’s gonna have one that doesn’t hate him.” Chase laughed, a bit nervously. “But, uh, I dunno if she’ll go back right away. Because, uh...that’s the bad news. She disappeared because she got kidnapped. By the same person who kidnapped Jackie. And kidnapped Schneep before that. And...” Chase sighed. “You were right. The person who did that is this Anti.” He paused. “Are...are you still there?”
Jameson took a moment to react. And when he did, he hung up. So...it was him.
God, what were the odds? What were the goddamn odds that the two of them would end up in the same place once again?! True, this city wasn’t too far away from the town they lived in before. But he’d always thought Aneirin was the type to stay in a town like that.
Well, at least he didn’t know Jameson was here...
——————
Jameson set down his book, checking the clock. It was a little past eight at night. Naturally, his eyes drifted over to the calendar afterwards. It was a month behind, still reading June 2007.
The front door slammed open downstairs. JJ jumped, then slid a bookmark into the pages of his novel and stood up, heading out the door and down the stairs.
“Hey, Jamie.” Aneirin smiled at him as he came downstairs. “Picked up dinner real quick. Sorry for being late.” He set a bag of McDonald’s down on the nearby coffee table and sighed, reaching upward to make sure his eye-patch was in place.
It’s fine, JJ signed. You’ve been busy lately.
“Yeah, uh...speaking of which.” Aneirin cleared his throat. “I have to go out again later tonight.”
JJ slumped a bit. You sure?
“Yeah...work shit, you know how it is.” Aneirin shook his head. “But hey, I mean, without my work, we wouldn’t have a house, so I’ll take it.”
That was true. Though...Jameson still wasn’t sure what exactly Aneirin did for work. It had odd hours, and Aneirin was hesitant to talk about it, in a way that JJ had initially shrugged off, but was now starting to seem a bit odd. He’d been living with him for a year now, wasn’t it weird that he didn’t know what his brother did? Alright, JJ signed hesitantly. But you owe me.
Aneirin smiled. “I’ll buy you another book.”
I have a lot of books, Aneirin. I haven’t even read them all.
“Something else, then. Whatever you want. Within reason, of course.” Chuckling, Aneirin headed through the doorway into the kitchen. Inside, JJ heard the sound of the coffeemaker—a new addition—starting up.
Frowning, Jameson poked his head into the kitchen doorway. He knocked on the wood, but Aneirin didsn’t turn around, focused on the coffeemaker. “Aan...?” JJ called.
“Hmm?” Aneirin looked over at him.
You aren’t supposed to be holding hot things.
“Jesus christ, I’m not a baby, Jamie.”
Just...remember what happened last time? Jameson pointed out at him. You burned yourself. I’m just worried.
“Yes, but now I know what not to do.” Aneirin shrugged, and turned around. “Besides, the mug will stay on the counter most of the time. So no need to overreact.”
JJ frowned, but left anyway, heading back upstairs to grab his book. He’d move downstairs to finish it, just in case Aneirin ended up needing help.
A couple hours passed. If the past was any indicator, Aneirin would be leaving around this time. JJ made a big show of yawning, and glancing over to the couch where Aneirin was sitting, eyes fixed to the TV but not really paying any attention to the show that was on. Standing up and grabbing his book, JJ signed, I think I’ll go to bed now.
Aneirin responded, “Alright.” without looking away from the screen. Go to bed was one of the sign phrases he could understand even out of the corner of his eyes.
JJ headed up the stairs, slowing down once he reached the second story. He walked over to his room, opening the door and closing it without going inside, instead just waiting in the hall. Immediately, he heard the television downstairs turn off. Footsteps crossed the living room and headed outside. The front door opened and shut. Jameson put his book on the floor next to his room and carefully crept down the stairs, sticking near the walls to avoid the creaks. He made a slight detour to grab his cell phone from the kitchen drawer where it was kept. Then once back in the living room, he crouched close to the ground and crawled over to the front window, peeking outside.
In the driveway, Aneirin was checking something in the trunk of his car. Well, technically, Aneirin always called it “our car,” but he was the only one who drove it. JJ didn’t know how to drive yet. And even if he did, he didn’t have a job and it was the middle of summer vacation, so where would he even need to go? Or at least, those were some of the reasons Aneirin listed when explaining why he wouldn’t teach Jameson how to drive. JJ watched as Aneirin closed the car trunk, and started walking down the block, as he always did when he went out working late at night.
After making sure Aneirin was far enough away, JJ rushed out the front door and over to the car. He opened the door to the back seat and climbed inside, squeezing into the space between the seats where you would normally put your feet. They kept a spare blanket in the car, and Jameson reached over and tried to cover himself, attempting to make it look like the blanket was naturally falling off the seat. Then he waited.
Just a few minutes later, the driver’s side door opened, and he heard Aneirin get inside. The car soon started, and headed out, with Aneirin having no idea Jameson was in the back seat.
He was tired of not knowing anything about where Aneirin went. And if he wouldn’t tell him, JJ would find out by himself.
They drove for a surprisingly long time, long enough for Jameson to start aching from being in this uncomfortable twisted position. He couldn’t exactly tell where they were going from his hiding spot, but he didn’t hear anything unusual, apart from the occasional strange commercial on the radio channel Aneirin was listening to. But of course, the car eventually stopped, and Aneirin climbed out. The locks thunked shut after he left.
Jameson waited a few minutes before sitting up and pushing the blanket aside. Looking out the car windows, he blinked in surprise. This...wasn’t what he was expecting. Instead of being parked outside some building on the outskirts of town, the car was pulled into a small gap in between two large, looming buildings. There was no light coming from them, and only the faint, watery street lamp beams to illuminate anything. Why would Aneirin have driven here...?
After a moment’s hesitation, Jameson unlocked the car door and stepped out. He walked out onto the street, finding it lined with similar tall, wide buildings. Where was this place? Some sort of storage? Why wasn’t anything lit up? JJ shivered, reaching into his pocket to double-check that his cell phone was there. He should find Aneirin, make sure that he was okay.
He looked left down the street, saw nothing, and looked right. There was a group of three people standing beneath one of the weak street lights. With them being the only people in sight, JJ headed in their direction. Eventually, he started picking up voices.
“—kid’s been a runner for three years, cut him some slack.” An unfamiliar female voice.
“No one gets slack at all.” An unfamiliar male voice. “Not even us, Kelly.”
“Still, he does his job.”
“Yeah, that’s right.” And that...that was Aneirin’s voice. Though strangely, his accent, a bit Irish from the years he’d spent being a foster kid in that country, had thickened. “Just give me the green.”
Jameson ducked around a corner of a building, peering out at the group of three. A man, a woman, and Aneirin. He watched as Aneirin handed over a backpack, and the man handed him a case. What was this? It seemed...shady. Aneirin couldn’t really be involved in something like this, right?
The woman leaned closer to Aneirin, lowering her voice so it couldn’t be heard from where Jameson was watching. But judging from the way Aneirin tensed, whatever she was saying wasn’t good news. Aneirin responded in an equally low tone, and the man suddenly laughed. “You?! Tiny thing like you? Obvious blind spot and likely to collapse at any time? Nah, lad, we’ll go with the professionals.”
That was exactly the wrong thing to say. Aneirin bristled, and even from here Jameson could see the anger in his expression. “Easy there,” the woman said, her tone patronizing. “You wouldn’t want to fall down, would you?”
Aneirin lunged at her, and a scream rang out through the empty street. The woman stumbled back, turning enough so that Jameson could see the way her front was stained red. “You little—!” The man grabbed Aneirin by his jacket, and JJ couldn’t help but cry out.
He didn’t think it would be audible to the group, but both the man and Aneirin looked over toward him. JJ’s eyes widened, and he ducked behind the building. “Oh, you brought a friend, didn’t you, you little bastard?!” The man yelled. “Looks like you, too! Family field trip, is it?”
“Hey! Back off!” Aneirin snarled. It would’ve been intimidating, if not for the nervous crack in the middle.
“Oh no, I don’t think so!”
Jameson heard footsteps running towards him, and instantly took off, running down the gap between the buildings. But the man was much faster, and the footsteps grew louder. Jameson glanced over his shoulder, and the man was just a few feet away. He gasped, and pushed himself farther, turning onto another street, then running into another gap in an attempt to shake the man off.
“Don’t you run, you—AAARGK!”
The strange noise wasn’t enough to stop JJ from running. He continued to weave around the gaps in the buildings, until he arrived back at the one the car was parked in. He tore open the backseat door and practically threw himself inside, locking it behind him. He fell onto the floor of the car and stayed there, sitting, knees pulled to his chest and his heart pounding in his throat. His eyes were fixed on staring through the dirty glass of the car window.
A figure appeared there. Jameson made a strangled sort of sound, backing up. The figure knocked on the glass, then a flashlight turned on, shining into the car. Jameson blinked in the light, then squinted through it, recognizing Aneirin as the one holding the flashlight.
Aneirin pointed towards the driver’s side door, and disappeared, rounding around the car. The locks thunked, and Aneirin opened the door and climbed inside. “Jamie?” he called.
Jameson didn’t relax, but leaned forward, into the spot between the driver’s seat and the passenger seat.
“Oh my god!” Aneirin grabbed JJ’s head, one hand on either side, and pulled him even closer. “What were you thinking?! What are you even doing here?! Did you follow me? Why the fuck would you do that?! There’s a reason I don’t tell you what I do!”
Jameson was stunned into silence for a moment. He let Aneirin continue on in a similar vein for a while, then slowly signed, I was just curious.
“Curious?! I—” Aneirin leaned back, burying his face in his hands and taking a few deep breaths. “You can’t...do stuff like that, Jamie,” he said.
...I’m sorry, JJ signed hesitantly.
“It’s...fine, Jamie, just...just don’t do that again.” Aneirin sighed, looking out the windshield. “Who knows what could’ve happened to you?”
Jameson fell silent for a moment, then awkwardly climbed into the passenger seat, settling into it. What happened to the man? And the woman?
“They’re...dead,” Aneirin said slowly.
Did you kill them? Jameson asked, eyes wide and disbelieving.
“...yes,” Aneirin’s voice was barely audible.
Why?!
Aneirin opened the car door and leaned over outside, picking up something on the ground. He pulled the case from earlier into the car and threw it into the backseat. “Because we need money to live and shit, Jamie, that’s why. Someone offers you a lot, and all you need to do is...go back on your word, then you take it.”
JJ shook his head silently, shocked. Aneirin...have you done this before?
Aneirin shifted in his seat. “What, go to a regular drop-off then walk away with two people dead? No.”
Silence fell. Jameson dug into his pocket and pulled out his phone.
“What’re you doing?” Aneirin said, sitting up straight.
Calling 999, Jameson answered.
“Wh—no! You can’t do that!” Aneirin grabbed Jameson’s wrist, pulling it, and the phone he was holding, away. “Look, I know it looks bad, but there’s absolutely nothing to connect us to this. See? I’m wearing gloves, no fingerprints.”
Jameson stared at him, absolutely stunned. We can’t just let— he started to sign one-handedly.
“No, we have to. Jameson, if the police hear about this, they’re going to judge my place an unfit home, and me an unfit guardian, and they’re going to put you back in the system.” Aneirin tightened his grip on Jameson’s wrist. “I-I can’t let that happen! I can’t let you go back there! Who knows what’ll happen?!”
Jameson managed to pull his wrist away from Aneirin’s grip. They’re not going to put a seventeen-year-old into the foster system. I’m practically an adult.
“As someone who was recently seventeen, that’s debatable. And legally, you’re still a child. It doesn’t matter how close to eighteen you are, until your actual birthday, they’re not gonna let you go.” There was a strong bitter note in Aneirin’s voice. “I can’t...I’ve only had you back for a year, Jamie. After ten fucking years of wondering what happened to you. Please don’t...don’t leave.”
Jameson hesitated. Aneirin’s eyes were shining with a desperate light that could be seen even in the shadows the car was hiding in. And he had to admit, he didn’t want to leave his brother, either. He sighed gently, and put his cell phone down on the dashboard of the car. Alright, fine.
Aneirin practically wilted with relief. “Thank you so much, Jamie.” He twisted in his seat, starting the car. “I promise you won’t regret it.”
The car headed out, with Jameson and Aneirin sitting in silence. Jameson stared out the window, watching as they gradually traveled to a more well-lit part of the town. He expected them to head home. But instead, Aneirin headed to the town center, and parked outside a lit-up building. “Look,” he said, glancing in JJ’s direction. “I’m sorry about...the yelling, earlier. I was just stressed and worried. I’m sorry if I made you feel like I was angry with you.”
Jameson exhaled slowly. It’s okay, Aneirin.
“I’ll make it up to you,” Aneirin promised. “Look.” He nodded at the building they were parked outside.
Wait...JJ’s eyes widened. We’re going to Tompson’s?
“Yep.” Aneirin smiled. “Ice cream sounds good after tonight. Luckily they’re open late. You can get whatever you want, whatever size.”
Really? Anything? JJ asked doubtfully. Tompson’s was known for being relatively expensive, but also delicious. They usually saved it for special occasions.
“Of course. It’s on me.”
JJ looked back out the window. He started nodding, slowly at first, then faster. Well, alright then. Can’t do that in the car.
Aneirin laughed. “Course not. Hey, not even gonna say thank you?”
Jameson exhaled softly, and rolled his eyes. Aneirin was always like this. “Thhnk yu-yuh. Annn.” He could’ve signed it, but if Aneirin wanted that, he would’ve said ‘sign.’
“You’re welcome,” Aneirin smiled. “Now let’s go.”
The rest of the night was rather nice. Jameson almost forgot what had happened earlier. Almost. It turns out, these events would not be forgotten easily.
——————
...Jameson was startled out of his thoughts by the sound of his text alert going off. Jameson?? Are you oaky?? Whyd you hang up? Chase asked. It was quickly followed by a *okay
I’m fine, Chase, JJ replied. I just had to think for a moment.
Are you actually fine or just saying that?
Jameson thought hard about this question. I won’t lie. I’m a little...He paused, wanting to type out ‘scared,’ but that might be a bit too far. That was probably something he should talk over with his therapist on Monday; now was not the time to unload everything. ...shaken, hearing about this. But I’ll be okay, I promise.
Alright, if your sure, Chase said. But if you ever need anyone, Im right here.
Thank you, Chase.
The city bus finally pulled up to the station, and JJ hopped aboard, pressing his bus pass to the card reader before taking a seat. He stared out the window as the bus started rolling again. He couldn’t help but glance behind him, even knowing that nobody would be there.
——————
A few days passed, and Monday morning dawned cold and rainy. Dr. Laurens opened her umbrella as soon as she got off the bus, holding it with her unbroken arm. She sighed quietly. Well, looked like she had to walk to work today. And for a while, actually, until her arm was healed enough for her to drive again. She’d better get used to it.
A few drizzly moments later, Laurens stepped inside the main doors of Silver Hills. Awkwardly closing her umbrella, she walked up to the front desk. “Hi, I need to see Dr. Newson, is she in?”
The orderly at the desk looked up, and her eyes widened. “Oh my god, Rya?!”
“Hey, Theresa,” Laurens said, smiling tiredly. “Is Newson in?”
“Yes, I-I can page her—mother of god, what happened to you?” Theresa asked as she started messing with her pager. “You disappeared! Are you alright?”
‘Alright’? Well, that was debatable. The broken arm was not ‘alright,’ and Laurens was pretty sure there was a lot else that would not fit into ‘alright.’ But she’d waited this long. She’d spent time in the hospital, then practically begged to go home so she could get used to being on her own, without having to worry about threats to her life. But still, she couldn’t stop thinking about getting back to work. She knew Newson had taken over Schneep’s case, and she knew Newson hated him. How could she just stand by and leave this situation alone? So, if by ‘alright’ you meant ‘functional and willing to help others,’ then yes, she was alright. “I’m fine, thanks,” Laurens said. “Should I just wait for Newson here?”
“Uh...yeah, that would be great.”
Laurens took a seat in the reception area, looking around. It seemed a bit surreal to be back here after...everything with Anti and Jackie. Like she was last here years ago, instead of just a few months.
About five minutes later, footsteps came down the hall, and Laurens stood up as Newson appeared. Newson’s eyes immediately locked onto her, and she froze. “Wh—Rya?”
“Yes, it’s me,” Laurens stated.
Newson gaped at her, then rushed over to stand in front of her. “You’re okay! Oh my god, I—we were so worried!”
“Really?” Laurens asked, not bothering to hide the surprise in her voice. “I mean...from what I remembered, you were probably going to fire me—”
“No! I mean—I—” Newson stammered. “I didn’t want you to—look, I may have made a bit of a rushed judgement that day, and I...would hate for that to be the last thing I ever said to you. You truly are great at your job, a-and a great person as well. And I’m not going to fire you.”
“Great,” Laurens nodded. “In that case, can I take my patient back please?”
“Wh—” Newson seemed taken aback by the question stated so clearly. “I...mean...”
“Because I don’t believe that your methods work well with him,” Laurens said, voice and expression deadpan. “Unless something has changed in the two months I’ve been gone.”
“I...” Newson cleared her throat, collecting herself. “Of course you can take the case again. Do understand that I—hello, can I help you?”
Laurens turned around. A tall woman in a black raincoat had just entered the reception area, carrying a briefcase. “Actually, yes,” the woman said. “I’m looking for Dr. Jennifer Newson.”
“That would be me,” Newson said, patting down her coat and smiling cordially. “Do you need something?”
“Ah. My name is Aja Bakshi, I am from Henson & Singh At Law.” Bakshi set her briefcase on the reception desk, opening it up and slapping a piece of paper covered in type down on the surface. “My client wishes to sue you for malpractice, negligence, and abuse of power with your position. This is the notice, details are included on it, as well as my phone number.”
Newson was left speechless. She just stared at Bakshi, absolutely shocked, her wide-eyed gaping expression somewhat reminiscent of a fish. Laurens had to bite back a smile as the thought occurred to her. “Uh...” Newson finally said. “Who...who’s suing me?”
“Details are on the notice, Dr. Newson,” Bakshi said calmly. “We have scheduled a court hearing for the 23rd. We expect to see you there.” And with that, Bakshi snapped the briefcase closed, and turned on her heel and left, door swinging closed behind her.
“Uh...Dr. Newson, are you alright?” Theresa asked.
Newson didn’t answer, instead picking up the paper and scanning it over. “Maher...?” she muttered. “I know that name...”
“Well, I’ll leave you to that,” Dr. Laurens said. “For now, I’d like to see my patient. But I seem to have lost my keycard.”
Newson looked up sharply. “Uh...right. I’ll call Oliver Hopkins, he can take you to the room. Can you get a coat on with your arm like that? Dress code, and all. We have some in—”
“In the back room, I know,” Laurens said. “I’ll meet Oliver there, then.”
About ten minutes later, Laurens had made her way to the back room and pulled on a white coat over her cast before replacing her arm in her sling.
“...Doc?”
Laurens glanced over, watching as Oliver rounded the corner. She smiled. “Hello, Oliver. Your phone is poking out of your pocket, by the way. Be careful.”
Oliver laughed, and wiped his eyes. “Holy shit, you’re okay. I mean, your arm, but. You know.”
“I do know, thank you,” Laurens chuckled. She then sighed. “Anyway, I wanted to check on Schneep. I don’t think I’ll be able to start a session until tomorrow, after I get all the stuff sorted out for coming back, but I...just want to see if he’s alright.”
Oliver winced. “That’s a...that’s a good idea.”
Listening to his tone, Laurens was suddenly shot through with worry. Part of her had wondered if her concern was a bit strange, especially for a therapist-patient relationship, but that one sentence was proof she was justified. “Alright...let’s go down to his room, then.” Laurens turned and started down the hall.
“Uh, Doc?” Oliver called. “He’s not in his room. He’s in the quiet room.”
Laurens stopped, turning around to look at him. “...well,” she said. “Let’s get him out of there, then.”
“Yeah, uh. Good idea,” Oliver muttered. “I should probably tell you that he’s been in there a couple times, and he...doesn’t react well to it.”
“Of course he doesn’t,” Laurens muttered, already heading down the hall in the other direction. Honestly, they should just call the room what it actually was: solitary. She supposed it wasn’t a bad idea in principle; sometimes the more hostile patients needed a place to cool down where they couldn’t hurt anyone or themselves. But in situations like this, locking someone in a room alone did more harm than good. Especially now that she knew what had actually happened to Schneep in the nine months he disappeared.
The door to the quiet room looked identical to all the other rooms in the older wing of the hospital, with the only exception being that it didn’t have a room number. But once Oliver opened the door, it became clear what made this room so different. It was the only place in the entire building that had its walls padded, and there was no furniture inside except for a bedframe with a mattress but nothing else. Laurens stepped into the room, looking around. She quickly spotted the figure curled up on the floor in the corner. “Schneep?” She called softly.
Schneep had his arms wrapped around his head, but upon hearing his name, he flinched and moved them enough to see out at her.
“Hey, it’s me,” Laurens said, keeping her voice friendly. “Remember me?”
“Hm.” The small sound wasn’t a confirmation or a denial. Schneep’s eyes darted towards the doorway, with Oliver standing in it.
Laurens looked back towards the doorway as well. Get out of sight, she mouthed. Oliver looked hesitant, but stepped to the side, out of view. Laurens looked back towards Schneep, taking a few steps forward. “Schneep, I need you to answer me. Do you remember me?”
“...Jackie?” Schneep said, his voice hoarse.
“No, I’m not Jackie,” Laurens said. She took a few more steps forward, then got down to kneel on the floor. “You’re not with Jackie right now. You’re in the hospital, remember?”
This seemed to confused Schneep for a bit, but he loosened up, uncovering his head as he realized Laurens wasn’t a threat. “Hospital...” he muttered. “Which one?”
“Silver Hills,” Laurens said.
A short pause. “You are...not lying?” Immediately after asking the question, Schneep laughed. “You would say you are not, either way.”
“I wouldn’t lie about where you are, Schneep,” Laurens said quietly. “I wouldn’t trick you like that.” She paused for a moment, gauging Schneep’s reaction. “Do you need anything?”
“Do I...?” The question threw him off for a bit. “I...I do not want to be here. No, no. Not here.”
“Alright, then let’s go.” Laurens held out her hand, palm-up. Schneep flinched away for a moment, but then reached out and grabbed it. “We’re going to stand up now, okay?”
Schneep nodded, and Laurens unfolded herself from her kneeling position, awkwardly doing her best to stand up without using her arms. After a few moments of trying, she succeeded, and helped pull Schneep to his feet. He immediately stumbled, leaning against her. Laurens gasped slightly, noting the cloudy look in Schneep’s eyes and the way he was shaking a bit. There was no reason for him to be this heavily sedated. “How’re you feeling?” Laurens asked.
“Hmm...cotton,” Schneep said.
“I see. Can you walk?”
“I...I think so, yes.” Despite this assertion, when Laurens started to walk, Schneep only stumbled and almost fell.
“Whoa, take it easy,” Laurens said. “I’m going to call someone who can help, alright?”
“Al...yes.”
Laurens looked toward the doorway. Oliver had poked his head into view, making eye contact with her. She nodded, and he came into the room, silently lifting Schneep into a carrying position. Schneep didn’t protest. “We’re going back to your room, Schneep,” Laurens said. “Okay?”
Schneep paused. Then: “You are the doctor.”
“Yes, I am a doctor. So are you.”
“I know. I mean, you are...you stopped coming,” Schneep mumbled.
Laurens nodded. “Yes, but I didn’t want to. I would’ve kept coming if I could. But now I’m back.”
“Very good. Good that you are alright.” Schneep sighed. “Can we please leave here?”
“Yes, we’re leaving right now,” Laurens said. She started heading to the door, glancing back to make sure Oliver and Schneep were following her. They were.
She sighed gently. This was Newson’s fault, she knew it. But now, hopefully, they wouldn’t have to struggle with that for much longer.

“Siri, what does GCS stand for?”
Jackie suddenly snapped to attention, almost hitting his head on the corner of the table. God, he hadn’t even heard Anti come into the room; he must’ve been buried deep in a daydream. Though, honestly, he couldn’t blame himself for that. It was much preferable to be in a daydream world than reality right now. In a daydream, he was able to forget about the cotton taste of the gag in his mouth, and the awkward angle his arms were handcuffed behind his back and around a table leg.
“Okay, I found this on the web,” said the robotic voice of Siri.
Anti was lounging on one of the apartment’s armchairs, dressed in an outfit that...wasn’t exactly his usual style. Jackie was oddly reminded of the way Chase dressed. Anti’s green glass eye had been replaced with a blue one, but he still had the old watch around his neck. “Three to five is good, then,” he muttered to himself. Anti glanced up, noticing Jackie staring at him. “Expecting something, hoodie man?”
Jackie flinched, and looked away, fixing his eyes on a water stain on the wall. He heard the sound of Anti shifting position, but didn’t look back.
Thwack!
A silver blade embedded itself in the wall inches from Jackie’s nose. Jackie cried out, flinging himself backwards and hitting his head against the table leg. Anti laughed. “God, you look like you just had a heart attack!” He paused. “Actually...Hey Siri, what do I do if someone has a heart attack?”
“Okay, I found this on the web.”
Jackie squeezed his eyes shut, trying to take deep, calm breaths. It was difficult, to say the least. Part of him wanted to shout at Anti, ask him what he wanted with him. The rest of him knew that would be a terrible idea, even if he could speak.
This wouldn’t last forever, would it? Something had to change. Or at least, that’s what he told himself.

The Goode Case, 1/14 (Jaida/Jan) - Juno
Summary: The case of the missing heiress and NYU senior Gigi Goode throws New York detective Jaida, along with her colleagues Brita and Jackie, into a mystery. Especially when the case takes a paranormal turn. And Jaida is not ready to face her truth.
Chapter Summary: Being on call on a Saturday is a drag, but a clue and two witnesses can’t wait until Monday. Not when it’s been thirty-six hours since Gigi Goode disappeared.
(A/N: Hi all - after lurking for a while I’m posting for the first time! The ship(s) are REALLY slow burn, and the whole fic is huge by complete accident, so if you’d rather read it on AO3 it’s over there too. So here’s the insane detective au that no one asked for. I hope you enjoy!)
Saturday 28th October
9.30AM
It wasn’t the usual alarm that made Jaida roll over sleepily, even though initially she thought it was.
She liked to organise her life separately, and that included her phone tones. One tone for family, one tone for Heidi and her other closest friends, one for colleagues, and one for strangers. Of course sleep threw her memory out of the window, and in thinking she was hitting the sleep button, she inadvertently declined the call instead.
The phone sounded again a few seconds after Jaida had closed her eyes and thrown her arm back over her face, drifting back into her dream. This time, coming to, she picked up the phone and peered at the screen. Jackie’s name had come up.
Of course, she realised – it was a work tone, not an alarm.
“This is Hall.”
“Jaida, I think there’s been an update on the case you’re on.”
How did Jackie sound so put-together this early on a Saturday? And how would she know about the case anyway? Brita was heading it, while Jackie had been working on something different. Surely Brita would have been the one to call?
“What’s the update?”
“Something to do with the abandoned property on Westfield Avenue.”
“You mean the old Visage guest house?” Jaida rubbed her eyes. “What does that place have to do with anything on the case? You know damn well it’ll just be more kids playing around. Brita and I got called there to break up a party or something three weeks ago.”
“I’m not sure. But what I do know, is that it will be me and you. And you know what that means, don’t you?”
Jaida nodded grimly.
Jackie’s – unusual – talents weren’t really publicly known, but they weren’t really unknown either within the office.
“If you nod, I can’t hear you.”
“Okay okay, I’m getting up.” Jaida stifled a yawn. “Is it plain clothes or uniform?”
“Uhm,” Jackie paused, “I didn’t catch that part. But don’t come round yet. Just wait for Brita to call you. Don’t tell her I called first, you know how she gets.”
Jaida put down the phone, stretched and rolled to the edge of the bed, sitting up.
“Phone call from Brita in five, four, three …”
Her phone was ringing again before she could even finish counting. This time it was the friend tone, she saw Brita on her screen, in a selfie they had taken together.
While Jackie was still relatively new to the team, Brita and Jaida went way back. Three long years on the team as Detectives, and even with Brita’s recent promotion to team leader, half a step below Sergeant, they were still tight. Jaida preferred to keep some separation, but Brita had graduated to a friend, not just a colleague.
 “This is Hall.”
“Jaida. Wait. You’re awake?” Brita sounded incredulous.
“Sure.”
“On a Saturday?”
“Girl …”
“… before noon?”
“Shut up, Brita.”
There was silence for a few moments. “Has Jackie already called you?”
“No,” Jaida said, but she knew it was a little too fast.
Brita sighed on the other end of the phone. “She’s really starting to get on my nerves. I told her not to do her telepathic stuff on me unless I ask her to, or like, I’m unconscious at a crime scene. I don’t need her reading my mind whenever Chief gives me an update on a case.”
“I don’t think she can always control it, especially if you’re shocked by something. And you know she doesn’t normally. You said you can feel it when she does it! That’s more than what I can do.”
“Anyway, a clue has been found at the old Visage guest house. The one that’s been abandoned since the 80s. A gold anklet. Check your email when I ring off for the photo and the updated report on the case.”
Jaida sighed. “Plain or uniform?”
“Plain, until we know more. Can you be here at eleven?”
“Sure.” Like she had a choice.
When Brita hung up, Jaida sent a quick text to Heidi, who she’d promised to meet today for a shopping trip.
Jaida: Heidi Aphrodite x
Heidi: hey gorg xx
Jaida: Hey, got an emergency at work. Can’t come out today. Sorry, will make it up to you next Saturday if you want?
Heidi: Jai you promised! How am i gonna look hot tonight for my date without u to get me fashion tips? Xx
Heidi: im gonna look like a witch lmao x
Jaida: Sorry H. She gonna love u anyway though! And no you won’t look like a witch! Xx
Eleven was pushing it, so Jaida opted for a pair of plain black jeans with a black polo neck sweatshirt, the first things to appear before her in what she called her “boring shelf” of her drawers, where she had the plain clothes for work. There wasn’t even any time for makeup really – she just swiped a layer of mascara and lip gloss and seized her bag before heading out the door of her room.
“Hey, Widow,” she called to her housemate, who was already up and in the living room, her paintbrush in hand, holding it up to the window and using it to measure the angles of the view outside. “You get much sleep last night?”
“Not much,” Widow said, not turning from her painting, “been up since the crack of fucking dawn.” She dabbed a bit more of the orange and ran it into the colours already on the canvas, spilling some onto the newspapers on the floor, and the band shirt and long shorts she wore, which were already covered in paint. “I can’t even remember what the sun looked like.”
Jaida inspected the painting from afar, a gorgeous interpretation of the sunrise from their apartment, which faced east, in Widow’s favourite set of acrylics.
The sun had long risen already and was now behind some dark clouds, but Widow was working partly from the outside, and partly from a photo she’d taken from her phone. Her strokes were frantic, paint dotting the newspapers that she always put down.
“Did you even try to sleep last night?” Jaida asked warily.
“Bitch of course I did, but I can’t sleep much right now, you know how it is.” Widow wiped her brow with her forearm and reached down to the table behind her for the mug of black coffee she’d poured herself.
“There’s some coffee in the pot if you want some?”
“Nah, I got to work. Emergency.”
“You’re fucking married to your work, Jai,” Widow said sadly, picking up the brush again and dipping back into the orange, still not looking at her. “There’s more to life.”
Jaida wanted more than anything to stay here and comfort Widow, but she knew she’d miss the bus if she stayed much more. Instead she went to give her a kiss on the cheek and a one-armed hug before seizing her coat and bag and heading out the door.
It was October, late October, and it was already turning cold this year. Jaida tugged her coat around her and blew into her hands as she stood waiting for the bus. Once she was on, it was a long ride into the city, and she got to settle into her seat and finally open her email.
The photo was just a photograph of an anklet sent from a phone, on the white table so as to make it stand out. But the report that Brita had attached, it was the Goode case.
Jaida frowned. Brita and Jaida had been working on that yesterday, but Jackie was on a different case, so that couldn’t be right. And it wasn’t like Brita not to double-check exactly what she was sending her. She’d have to check with her when she got to the office.
11.04AM
“Sorry I’m late,” Jaida lied through her teeth as she dashed into the meeting room. Four minutes was neither here nor there, but Brita was always on time for everything, and a few minutes was still a slight affront.
Jackie, next to Brita, raised an eyebrow in a way that let Jaida know that she wasn’t convinced.
“Traffic?” Brita asked.
“Traffic,” Jaida nodded. “And that driver, he didn’t know the green light from the red one. Took the car behind beeping like crazy for him to move.”
Jackie’s other eyebrow was raised now too. Jaida didn’t feel guilty in telling a little white lie, but she did occasionally forget about Jackie’s telepathic abilities. Unlike Brita though, Jaida couldn’t tell when Jackie was hearing her thoughts, so Jackie had probably seen through her mind that Jaida had spent the last ten minutes hurriedly gulping down her Starbucks rather than in a traffic jam. Honestly, Jaida probably could have done with some more coffee, but needs must and all that.
She gave Jackie a look, and repeated in her mind just go with it just go with it just go with it as loudly as she could think, until Jackie looked away.
“Okay, well now that you’re here, we need to discuss the morning’s itinerary,” Brita said, unfolding the paper she’d printed. “Here’s the revised report.”
“Yeah about that, I think you sent me the wrong one,” Jaida interrupted.
“I know what you’re thinking, but the new clue does seem to relate to the Goode case.” Brita nodded grimly.
“Has Jackie been filled in on the Goode case?”
“Well, I read the report,” Jackie replied. “Georgina Goode, twenty-two, senior in fashion design at NYU, missing since Thursday night, that sound about right?”
“That sums it up, yes.” Brita unfurled the map of the area.
“Georgina was last seen at a party on Northfield, here, on Thursday night, several witnesses have confirmed that. We’re on Saturday morning now. Last sighting was on a security camera on the corner of Northfield and Westfield, and that was at …” Brita glanced at the date stamp on the camera print out. “Eleven twenty-nine. Georgina was turning onto Westfield through that camera. The first camera on Westfield is still undergoing repairs, and the second one never caught her.”
“Could she have gotten into a car?” Jackie asked, but Brita shook her head.
“No cars on camera were recorded on any of the streets at that time, not until eleven thirty-five. And that driver was interviewed first thing this morning. His alibi is water-tight.”
“So she’s been gone for thirty-six hours,” Jaida nodded. “And her parents are still saying she’s not home?”
Brita shook her head, chewing her bottom lip grimly.
Jaida felt her heart sinking. The fact that Georgina was heading into the second day of being officially missing, meant that this investigation was more and more likely becoming a search for a body rather than a person.
“And the anklet that’s been found, is it Georgina’s?”
“We’ve yet to have confirmation from the parents, but we did get some … uh, unusual new witnesses to the case. Two students from NYU. They went to the Visage guest house to do some paranormal stuff,” Brita used her fingers to make speech marks. “They’re the ones who found the anklet, and one of claims it’s Georgina’s. They’ve agreed to interview today, at eleven thirty.”
“I thought that house was boarded up?” Jackie asked.
“Well, one of them found a loose window. Let the other one in. And it’s a good thing they did,” Brita said darkly, “because otherwise we’d have no leads yet. And it gets more interesting from there.”
“How?”
“Come with me,” Brita beckoned to them both, “and we’ll go set up for interview. I’ll watch the monitors.”
11.30AM
The witness room had the blinds drawn to keep out the sun, for even though it wasn’t the warmest day, the windows in that room could heat it right up in a heartbeat if the sun was out. It meant that the light was on, even though it was still early.
The two women were also seniors, as Georgina was. From the notes Jaida had been given, they were Kristen and Ava, and Jaida read that Kristen shared classes with Georgina, while Ava knew her through Kristen. One of them was trembling while the other looked quite placid.
Jaida looked from one to the other, then down at her notepad, while Jackie sat down next to her, her eyes darting between the two witnesses as she pressed the record button.
Jaida cleared her throat. “So, uhm, Kristen and Ava –“
“No! We’ve said this ten times already!” The more nervous of the two piped up. “I’m Crystal, she’s Aiden! Whoever wrote down our names in the lobby wrote them wrong!” Crystal, the one who was speaking, put her head in her hands, obscured by a curtain of curly red hair. Aiden put a hand on Crystal’s shoulder to calm her down.
“Sorry about my friend, she’s not normally this anxious, we’ve just had – an experience,” Aiden said quietly.
Jackie nodded. “I understand.”
She was trying to sound sympathetic, but Jaida caught a hitch in her voice, felt Jackie tense up suddenly. Even with their mental connection, Jaida could not read minds, so Jackie’s thoughts would have to remain a mystery for now at least.
“I’ll adjust it now,” Jaida muttered, crossing out the names and re-writing them. “Right, Crystal and Aiden, you found the anklet in the old guest house?”
Crystal emerged from behind her hands. “Yeah, yeah we did.”
“Why were you there? Did you think Georgina would be there?”
“She – she’d mentioned something about it,” Crystal was shivering, Aiden rubbing her shoulder, seemingly encouraging her to go on.
“Do you remember what she said exactly?” Jaida asked, pen hovering over the notepad.
“She said it had been owned by a relative,” Crystal replied. “I can’t remember who, some distant relative.“
“The Visage family closed the house after a few controversies back in the eighties,” Jaida said. “Were the Visage family related to Georgina’s?”
“No one calls her Georgina, she’s Gigi.”
“Alright, well were they related to Gigi?”
“I mean, I don’t know, but she said they were!” Crystal’s voice was rising in pitch, shaking with emotion. Aiden continued to rub her shoulder while she took a couple of deep breaths to relax.
Jackie’s breathing on the other hand was shaky next to Jaida, and Jaida wished that Jackie would leave the room or something, if she was getting something mentally from these girls.
“So you went to the house. Did you think Gigi was inside it?”
Jaida managed to catch Aiden, whose face had been expressionless so far, tense a muscle in her jaw and her eyes dart to Crystal, who met them before looking back at Jaida.
“I don’t know.” Crystal shook her head.
“You sure?” Jaida asked.
“Well,” Crystal began, but Jaida saw it clearly this time; Aiden give her shoulder a rapid squeeze, and Crystal sighed. “I thought I saw her inside. But I was wrong,” she added hurriedly. Aiden, next to her, tensed her jaw again.
“Inside? In the building?“
Aiden took her hand away from Crystal.
“I didn’t see her,” Aiden said, speaking finally, “but Crystal said she did, so I looked around and I – I found a loose board in one of the windows,” she shrugged. “I didn’t see the issue with taking it off to get in, especially if Crystal said she saw someone.” Her tone was defiant.
“You girls aren’t in trouble for going in, if you think she was there,” Jaida tried to calm her down, “but you’re saying you didn’t see her?”
Aiden paused before shaking her head. “No, I didn’t.”
“But she must have been there, because that’s her anklet! I gave her that for her birthday last December, she’s worn it ever since!” Crystal cried.
“You recognise the anklet? In this picture?” Jaida slid the photo of it to her.
In response, Crystal leaned into her chair and raised her right leg to the table, lifting her floor-length skirt away from her ankle. She was wearing an identical anklet to the one in the picture.
“We have the same ones! Matching ones. She’s my best friend.”
Crystal was seemingly holding back tears now; and as she put her foot back on the floor, she rubbed her eyes ferociously with the back of her hand. “I’m sorry, I want you to take me seriously, I know it sounds crazy, but I know what I saw. I saw Gigi, and we found the anklet, so she must have been there.”
“So you found the anklet, but did you see any other sign of disturbance?”
“I don’t – I don’t know. We just found the anklet, and we – we left,” Crystal stuttered, glancing at Aiden as if for confirmation.
“You didn’t see or hear any people? No one in there?”
“No, no one,” Crystal said.
“You sure?”
Crystal nodded. Aiden’s left eye gave a definite twitch.
Jackie pushed back her chair, muttering something about needing water. She stumbled to the door of the witness room, pulling it open and rushing away.
“I think we should wrap up for now on this,” Jaida said, rapping her notebook. “But before we do, is there anything else we should know that you have that could help us with the investigation?”
They both hesitated.
“Remember that your friend is missing,” Jaida said as gently as she could. “If you know anything that could help her, you’re doing the best by her in telling us.”
Aiden shook her head slowly, biting her lower lip.
“I don’t think I do,” Crystal muttered. “But … can I call you if, you know, anything else happens?”
Jaida slid her card over the table. “Sure, any time you need to.”
She turned off the recorder and let the two students leave the room, before turning out herself, locking the door behind her. They hurried down the corridor, back to the lobby, and disappeared out of the building.
Back in the meeting room, Jaida entered to find Brita was clutching Jackie’s shoulders, Jackie still shaking in fright, a glass of water shuddering in her hand. Jaida made sure the door to the meeting room was closed.
“Child, what was that about?”
“Jaida,” Brita warned, but Jackie put her glass down on the table.
“No, Brita, I need to tell her too! She probably noticed the same thing.” Jackie sat down in the chair, joined by Brita next to her, while Jaida took an opposing seat.
“It was so … weird,” Jackie’s voice quaked with emotion, “but that girl with the short hair, Aiden, I got – I got nothing at all from her.”
“Nothing? That’s weird,” Jaida agreed.
“Not even the whispering?”
“Nothing!” Jackie cried, pushing back her fringe. “It was so strange! I don’t think I’ve ever had that from someone! I mean, I know I have to have a connection with people to read them clearly, but most people at least whisper! I don’t get why … why I didn’t even hear that!”
“And the other one? Crystal?” Brita asked quietly.
Jackie took a deep breath to steady herself, suddenly stone-cold and calm, and looked Jaida straight in the eyes.
“She’s like you, Jai.”

Seventeen (Vocal Unit) Meeting Their Ex Girlfirend
Can you do a seventeen vocal unit reaction of meeting again their ex but they already have a girlfriend, anyways her ex stays as a friend and end up dating another member (like she is Joshua's ex but now is Jeonghan's girlfriend). I hope you like it, uwu.
word count: 2975
Woozi / Jeonghan
You rush out of the house so you have time to drop by your favorite coffee shop before work. The past few nights has been hectic, so you know you needed your caffeine before showing up. The cool air conditioning of the coffee shop hugged around you upon entering, cooling you down from the late summer sun outside. You ordered your usual and sat down by a table, waiting for your name to be called. A few short minutes later, a barista called it out for everyone to hear, making you jump to your feet.
"Y/N?" Your name was repeated, but not from the barista, it was someone behind you. You whipped around and came face to face with a very familiar face. Your ex boyfriend Lee Jihoon. Contrary to the gut dropping feeling you would have running into any other boyfriends, a smile plastered itself to your face. The two of you had ended on great terms as you had simply grown apart, rather than a nasty fight breaking you up.
"Jihoon? No way!" You replied and gave him a hug, one he more than willingly returned. His name was called soon after, and he grabbed his coffee, walking you out to the street. Turned out your were headed in the same direction, and you found yourself talking about the good old days and how bummed out you both were when Jihoon had moved to Seoul. Thing was, he never told you where he had gone to, so you didn't think anything of hitting him up when you moved there yourself. You soon had to part ways as you didn't work in the same buildings, but he promised you he would call you sometime and you could hang out. He even said he wanted to introduce you to his girlfriend and his friends.
It didn't take a number of days before he messaged you- in fact, it was later the same day. He had texted you and said that him and his friends got off early, and wondered if you wanted to meet them earlier than originally planned. You agreed and told him where to meet you. You had gotten off work about an hour prior, so you had already showered and gotten dressed as you were about to ask one of your room-mates to hang out.
The restaurant you asked them to meet you at was just down the street from your apartment, so it was no surprise you were the first of the two parties to show up. Jihoon had let you know that they were quite a big amount of people, so that you should call beforehand. You said he should do it as he knew exactly how many people you would be. The hostess of the restaurant seated you in a booth that looked like it could fit a million people. Soon, the door opened and in came a small village of people, Jihoon leading the troop. Your jaw dropped to the floor as you saw how many people they were. You had imagined like five, maybe six people, but from where you sat, you could count thirteen individuals.
"Y/N!" Jihoon cheered as he spotted you, walking over to the table. "There are so many of you." You deadpanned as you got to your feet to greet them. You all got seated, and then went around the table to introduce themselves. You tried your best to keep up, but everything just poured out of your head as soon as your eyes met the last one. "Yoon Jeonghan, pleasure to meet you." He spoke in a tone that made your heart flutter.
The dinner went well, and you got to know everyone there quite well, and even planned on meeting up later in the week. You and Jihoon were the last ones to exit the restaurant as you held him back a bit while the others were outside messing around. "I have a super weird confession-" You started, but Jihoon was quick to cut you off. "I already have a plan on how I'm gonna set you and Jeonghan up, don't worry." He grinned. He then hugged you and bid you goodbye, leaving you feeling all giddy and happy in the middle of the closing restaurant.

You walked down the hallway, going through some papers. It was your first day at the new company, so you were pretty nervous to say the least. You had been a professional vocal coach for a while, but never at this specific company. You took a sharp right and entered a studio, where a blonde guy sat at the mixer, and four other guys were in the booth, recording some harmonizers. You stood by the door for a minute, not wanting to disturb them.
A few minutes passed by before the four lads paraded out of the booth, noticing you standing there. You could see their faced properly now, not believing who you saw. It seemed as it caught him off guard too, but the two of you soon burst into smiles and giggles as you hugged him. Jeonghan, your ex boyfriend.
"Y/N! What are you doing here?" He smiled as soon as you let go of each other. You explained how you had been hired by Pledis as a vocal coach. You had been instructed by one of the managers to come by and greet you, so you had some time to get to know them before you started working together. "So, lovely to meet you all- I'm Y/N. I'm an old friend of Jeonghan." You said as you greeted the other in the room.
"Wait, are you the ex girlfriend who is always included in the dumbest stories?" The one introduced as Jisoo asked, and you had to nod. You and Jeonghan had been on some crazy adventures in your time.
A spread chorus of 'no way' and laughter occured for a second, making you blush ever so slightly. You didn't know if it was because you had just met them and they had already heard so much about you, or if it was because you felt Jisoo's eyes linger on you. Something you didn't necessarily minded as he was one tall glass of water- but he was Jeonghan's friend. You and Jeonghan ended on great terms, as it was a mutual feeling of falling out of love, but still- it felt wrong.
But much to your oblivious self, Jeonghan had noticed the lingering stares, and when you actually sat down t get to know each other, he saw how you two had laughed extra hard at each others jokes, and how you had touched his arm when you spoke.
After a few hours you realized that time had flown away from you, and that you needed to be headed to a meeting. You got out of the sofa and bid them goodbye, Jeong offering to walk you out as you did so. As soon as the door shut behind you and you started to walk down the hall towards the meeting rooms, Jeonghan asked you about Jisoo. You instantly started to apologize and said that you could put your interest on the shelf if Jeonghan was uncomfortable with it. But much to your surprise he wasn't.
"Don't worry, Y/N. I put your number in his phone when he wasn't looking, so we're good to start project Set Up."

"And five, six, seven, eight." You counted as you moved in sync with both the beat and the partner by your side. You and Soonyoung had been dancing partners for quite a few months, as he was in a bit of a block, choreography wise. He had called you up and you happily agreed to help him. You helped him out of the dump, and turns out the two of you worked really good together, better than expected. So after that, he had a talk with the company, and got you hired.
"What if we, drop into it like- 1, 2, 3, 4.." Soonyoung started, but was cut off as soon as the door to the studio opened. You looked up at the mirror to see who entered behind you, your eyebrows furrowed in confusion as a very familiar face came into view. You whipped around as you stated the name of your ex-boyfriend. "Joshua?"
His head tilted up in a confused manner, as did Soonyoung. "You know this kid?" Soonyoung questioned, you shooting the question right back as you never knew they were friends. You explained to Soonyoung, telling him you broke up once Joshua was scouted and moved to Korea. Yet another conversation was interrupted as the door swung open a second time. In came a tall brunette, holding a thing of cloth- maybe a shirt.
"Hosh, you forgot this in the-" He cut himself off as his eyes met yours. You felt your jaw literally drop open as you looked at the snack and a half that was the man in front of you. His skin was silky smooth, uninterrupted all except a freckle on his cheek. His bone structure was unlike anything you had ever seen. (can y'all tell im a seokmin stan?)
You saw his lips fall open into a soft gape as his jaw weakened as well. You prayed to whatever creature it was that listened in that it was a good thing that he couldn't take his eyes off of you either.
Joshua and Soonyoung looked first at you and the mystery boy, then at each other. Joshua decided to be the first one to speak up. "Seokmin, this is Y/N. She is an old friend of mine. Y/N, this is Seokmin, he is a more recent friend. We're debuting together."
Seokmin snapped back to reality and gave you a smile, sending your heart into loops. You gave him a smile back, and you could have sworn you saw a blush on his cheeks.

You sighed as you rummaged through your fridge, eager to find the milk. You had just poured yourself a bowl of cereal, only to find out your roommate drank the last of your milk. It had already been quite a tough day, so you didn't bother confronting them and yell, rather you grabbed your coat and headed out the door. You didn't care that the bowl of dry cereal was presented on the middle of the counter, you were already fed up with the day as it was.
Luckily, the closest grocery store that carried the brand of milk you preferred, wasn't too far away. It was about a fifteen minute walk, the fresh air helping you clearing your mind in the process.
The store was fairly empty as it was almost midnight, but still a few people roamed around the twenty-four/ seven store. You grabbed a basket as you could pick up a few more things since you were there anyways. As you reached for the celery, someone tapped your shoulder, asking for your attention. You whipped around and was suddenly face to face with someone you hadn't seen in what felt like forever. "Seokmin!" You smiled and immediately went to hug your ex-boyfriend.
"Y/N!" He smiled back as you both pulled away from the hug. Before you could ask him how he was, a friend of his came around the corner, talking to him. "Seokmin, is this the right rosé?" He spoke as he studied the bottle. if you get that reference, i fucken love you. When he looked up, he realized he had interrupted and quickly apologized.
You would have just continued the conversation with Seokmin, but you couldn't take your eyes off his friend. It was as if Seokmin picked it up, because before you knew it, you were being introduced. "Y/N, this is Seungkwan. Seungkwan, this is Y/N, an old friend of mine." You shook Seungkwan's hand and smiled at him. Hadn't it been for the fact that you had yet to be able to tear your eyes off of him, you probably wouldn't have noticed the blush on his cheeks.
"So what's up with you?" Seokmin asked after the introduction, you finally turning to him and answering. "Nothing much, just asshat roommates who drank all of my almond milk." You chuckled, the two boys doing so as well. You spoke for a few more minutes before your stomach growled, signalling to the two that you were ready to leave.
"Sorry boys, I gotta go! But hopefully I'll see you around?" You said and started to move away from them ever so slightly. They nodded, Seokmin informing you that he still had your number. You smiled at him then moved your eyes to Seungkwan for only a second, but Seokmin knew what you meant. He winked at you as to let you know that he would indeed set you up.

You and two other girls around your age grunted and groaned as you pushed a large wooden box across the set to where it was supposed to be. You were on the set for a music video, being a set intern while you waited for a spot to open as a producers intern. You had applied months ago, but as your application had gotten lost in the office and you had to send a new one, you had fallen to the bottom of the waiting list.
"Artist to set!" Someone, probably the director, called through a megaphone, startling not only you, but the two other girls as well. You chuckled among yourselves as you moved off the set so filming could begin. You hadn't been informed what artist they were shooting for, but you didn't care. If it was someone you were a fan of, it didn't matter- you didn't wanna come off as a wild fangirl in front of your boss.
You were coiling extension cords when you hear the two other girls let out small gasps. You assumed it was because the artist came into view, so you turned around while still working your hands. It was a large group, that much you could see, but your attention was immediately drawn to a specific brunette in the way back. He was shorter than everyone else, but there was something about him that made your heart flutter.
You tried to ignore it and started working again. You soon found another pile of cords that needed coiling, so you started, watching as the music video started shooting. You found yourself looking at the brunette more and more, all until you made eye contact with him. You snapped your head in another direction, trying to seem smooth about it. Where your eyes went next threw you off, though. Going from one cutie to another- your eyes met the ones of your ex-boyfriend, Seungkwan. He wiggled his eyebrows at you as he had seen you looking at his bandmate. You had completely forgotten that he was in a band, and that there was a chance that you would see him here. Not that you minded, you had put your breakup behind you and agreed on being friends.
You wiggled your eyebrows back in a joking manner, but only for a short second before you went back to work. A few minutes later, you were greeted by Seungkwan who was now stood right next to you. "Y/N! What are you doing here?" He smiled as he greeted you. You explained the situation with the waitlist and how you just wanted to produce music.
An idea unlike anything else popped into Seungkwan's head as you said what the problem was. While he was thinking, he saw you eye his bandmate, Jihoon, from across the room.
"I think I might be able to help you with that. Two birds with one stone actually." He grinned, almost evilly. You questioned his coming actions, but he wouldn't let you know. He just grabbed your wrist and dragged you across set. As soon as you realised whom he was dragging you over t, you tried wiggling out of his grip, but to no use.
"Jihoon! You mentioned the other day that you needed Chan to assist you in the studio right? Well, what if I told you a very pretty and very smart little human being is more than happy to help you?" He spoke, holding you still. It was almost as if you hid behind him, and you had to admit it wasn't far from it. Jihoon looked confused as ever, and that's when Seungkwan pulled you out from behind his back.
"This is Y/N, the one you were drooling after earlier. She wants to be a producer- teach her. Bye guys!" He snickered as he left, leaving you two to get to know each other.

Pairing: Poly!Bts X M!Idol!Reader
“And do you have any words for your fellow artist M/n-nim?” The presenter questioned, the words echoing through the speaker of M/n phone, “You seem to be close in all the footage whenever you’re together!” With those words M/n locked his phone and shoved it into his jacket pocket. He took a deep breath before letting it out, watching his breath in the cold night air; he was only supposed to be outside for a quick break before he headed back into the studio but a video from a recent show that featured all the members of Bts had caught his eye. M/n really wished it hadn’t.
With another sigh, he pushed off the wall and headed back into the building, nodding to the receptionist before he headed over to the elevator. Moments later the elevator arrived and he stepped in, pressing the button of the floor he needed to go to. He couldn’t help but question where his relationship with the members of Bts had gone wrong. He had only debuted six months before them and definitely wasn’t as successful as them that’s for sure. Sure they had their differences and all- The elevator door opened and in stepped Jimin, Yoongi and Taehyung. The air went cold.
“M/n-hyungnim” Yoongi said with a cool tone to his voice, the other two with him simply nodding their heads in greeting. M/n tried to shove himself even further into the corner he was stood in and couldn’t help but grimace when he saw Jimin go to push the button for their floor but not press anything. They were going to the same floor then.
The rest of the short elevator ride was dead. No one moved, spoke or made even the tiniest noise. After arriving at their floor, Jimin, Yoongi and Taehyung each stepped out and walked off, not even giving M/n a second glance. M/n let out a shaky sigh before heading off to the studio he was meant to be at 5 minutes prior.
The minutes crawled by at an agonisingly slow pace, he just couldn’t come up with anything. No words, no melodies, nothing. His head was empty, it had been for days now. Day and night seemed to meld into one and M/ns passion for his newest album he wanted to release soon was gone.
Nothing mattered anymore and it made him just want to crawl into his bed and cry till he had no tears left. And that’s what he was going to do. M/n shoved his jacket back on and left the studio as quickly as he could, not bothering to look up or where he was going. He would soon regret this as he bumped into someone and fell straight back on to his rear end “I’m so-” He began
“-Hey! Look where you’re going…” A voice began before cutting itself off, “M/n-Hyungnim.”
M/n winced knowing exactly who the voice belonged too “Please don’t call me that Namjoon-ah” M/n almost begged, not looking up, “We both know you don’t see me as your hyung”
“Then what should we call you?” Hoseoks voice scoffed out
“Anything but that would do…” M/n trailed off. He could hear a few huffs come from some of the members before he finally decided to pick himself off the floor, “Listen I-”
“No-” Jin interrupted, “You should listen to us first. I don’t know what we did to make you hate us but-”
“I don’t hate you guys!” M/n yelled out, cutting off Jin, “Look, this isn’t what i wanted-”
“Then what did you want? Hmm?” Jungkook questioned, irritation evident in his tone.
“I- don’t” My chest feels tight
“Well what is it?!” No please
“Well?” Please.
“Just- Let me live!” M/n cried out, slamming his fist against the wall. Everything paused in that moment; almost as if time stopped. M/n couldn’t take it anymore, so he pushed past the members and fled down the stairs next to the elevator, not listening for the pleas behind him telling him to stop.
He ran.
And ran.
And ran.
Then he stopped.
“Shit…”

A/N: trigger warning for smut, and for Excessive Levant Crying
In the few weeks that passed, they settled into a sort of rhythm. Having a schedule seemed to calm Cameron down, and Lev had to admit it made him feel better too. He knew what to expect, to an extent, though Nik and Eden found ways to insert variety into their lives along the way.
Lev shifted, adjusting his pants grumpily. He’d been perfectly happy to use Eden’s naptime to fall into bed with Cameron and Nik, but when Nik cheerfully shoved a plug in his ass after they’d both fucked him, Lev knew exactly which one he’d used. Nik hadn’t turned it on yet, but Lev knew it was only a matter of time before he did.
Lev paused outside Eden’s door. He could hear her babbling inside, so she was definitely awake, but Lev was surprised to see that there was only one sentry at the door. He thought about asking, but Eden’s volume was increasing every second he hesitated, clearly unhappy about being left to her own devices. When he looked inside, she was already sitting up, a dewinged bat stuffed animal in her clutches.
She screeched at him, waving the two halves of the toy at him.
“We really should stop giving you stuffed animals,” Lev muttered. He scooped her up, humming softly. He checked her diaper, and made quick work of changing her before replacing the tattered stuffed animal with a rattle. He got smacked on the head with it for his troubles. “Why are you so mean to your Da, hmm?” He asked, sliding out of the room. “What have I done to deserve this?”
That was apparently funny, because she giggled and tried to bite his shoulder.
“You’ve been around Cameron too long. No biting of the people. Especially your Da,” Lev scolded, heading for the kitchen. Most likely where the other two would be, anyway.
He didn’t quite make it. Amara appeared out of nowhere, spinning him around. He tucked Eden close and pulled away, huffing at her.
“What are you doing here? And be careful. She’s still little,” Lev scolded, checking Eden over. He got his finger bit for his troubles, before Amara caught Edens attention. Eden reached for her, and babbled angrily when Lev hushed her.
“I’m here to kidnap you,” Amara told him solemnly, before poking Eden’s nose. “Damn. He even makes cute kids. Think he’d spare me some DNA to knock Cin up with?”
“Amara,” Lev said, exasperated.
“Yes?” She asked innocently.
Lev sighed, and edged around her. He flicked a wall of shadows up in Amara’s face when she tried to follow. Her annoyed squawk was worth the payback he was sure would follow. She was still on his heels by the time he ducked in the kitchen.
“Amara’s kidnapping me for the day,” he said tiredly in lieu of hello.
“Damn right I am. You abandoned me for a pair of cocks and I’m insulted. Impressed, but insulted.”
“You should be,” Cameron said without hesitation, starting across the room. “You’re not taking him.”
Lev was quick to push Eden in his arms, both to stop Cameron from strangling his cousin, and because Amara had hooked a finger in Lev’s belt loop determinedly. “Yes, I am,” she said sweetly. “Promise to return him with minimal damage, but he needs a day away from this insanity.” She settled her chin on Lev’s shoulder.
“Yes, because your insanity is that much better,” Cameron replied dryly.
“Hey,” Lev tried. “I don’t mind, really.”
“Yeah, and you didn’t mind almost dying, either,” Cameron retorted.
“What, and you’re not kidnapping me too?” Nik demanded from the counter.
“Nah,” Amara said dismissively. “Not today, Saint Nikolas.”
That didn’t seem to amuse Nik, who muttered, “See if I ever feed you again.”
“Fuck you,” Amara said cheerfully. “You let my sister sleep under the same roof as him.”
“Would you rather she sleep in the street in the middle of winter?” Nik retorted.
“She has other family, you know,” Amara said. She pulled away from Lev, grabbing him by the scruff of the neck. “Come on, buddy, we’ve got things to do. Motorcycles to terrify you with. Takeout to make you order.”
Both Nik and Cameron looked disgusted with her food choices. Lev waved at them. “I’ll be back tonight,” he called as she yanked him out the door. “If I’m not please come get me.”
He barely heard Cameron’s response of, “Give her food poisoning,” before Amara marched him past some very grumpy looking sentries and out to her bike. The poor thing was old and more worse for the wear, but according to Amara it ran. She stuffed Lev in a leather jacket to keep him warm, and handed over a helmet. He almost told her off for not wearing one herself, but it’d never worked in the past, so he just sighed and pulled his on.
“Drive slow?” he asked.
Amara just laughed at him.
----
For the next five minutes, Nik watched Cameron feed Eden before he ended up saying, “So…. she just walked in here. How do you feel about that?”
“That she’s lucky she’s Lev’s cousin because I would have broken her legs otherwise,” Cameron replied, feeding a spoonful of meat to the happy babbling demon baby wiggling in her high chair. “Won’t be able to walk in if her legs cease to function.”
“You know she does it just to get a rise out of you,” Nik said.
“You make it sound like I care.”
“I mean,” Nik said, taking a drink of his black coffee, “you clearly do. Since Lev had to put the baby in your arms before you went through her. She must have gotten under that icy white skin of yours.”
Cameron flicked his cool pale blue eyes at him. “No. She just needs to learn where she can and cannot open that fat mouth of hers. And she cannot open it in my house where I will feed her to my guards.”
Nik made a face. “I do not imagine Lev would be too fond of cannibalism against his cousin,” Nik mused. “Me neither. I am rather fond of my fuck buddies.”
Cameron’s mouth twitch clearly was a figment of Nik’s imagination. “And I do believe that function is now obsolete.”
“Be as that may,” Nik said. “I am still attached.”
“Why.” But before Nik could answer that rude question, Cameron said, “Never mind. She’s just as bad as you are. Two peas in an annoying pod. My mistake.”
Nik clicked his tongue. “You charmer. Are you like this with all your boyfriends. Oh wait, I forgot, you refuse to acknowledge this not relationship. My mistake.”
Before Cameron could respond with one of his irritatingly famous quips, Eden smacked her hands down on the tray, screeching at both of them for daring to take her attention. Cameron flicked her nose. “Stop it, I’m feeding you, aren’t I?”
She babbled angrily at him around the spoonful of food Cameron shoved in her mouth. Cameron pointed at her, eyes narrowed into a glare. “I am literally right here. Stop screaming and use your damn indoor voice.”
“She’s a baby.”
“So are you and I managed to train you to not yell in my house.”
“You’re so cute. Using pet names,” Nik said, batting his eyes at him. “What else do you got for me? A darling? A sweetheart? A my love?”
“A broken neck?” Cameron offered.
Nik pouted and went to top off his coffee. “I thought babies made the heart grow fonder.”
“That’s absence,” Cameron corrected. “Open a book once in a while.”
“I read.”
“Pornography does not count.”
Nik tried kissing Eden’s cheek, but got smacked by her. He bit down on her shoulder lightly before resting his chin on Cameron's shoulder. “You both are so mean to me. I can’t believe it, I thought I was her favorite.”
He knew Cameron rolled his eyes. “Her favorite is literally anyone that gives her attention at any given moment,” he said. “A complete stranger could give her point five seconds of attention and she’d have a new parent.”
“Here I thought I brought a special something to our relationship.”
“You didn’t, don’t worry.”
Nik bit down on Cameron’s shoulder. Hard enough to break the skin. “Asshole.”
Eden was laughing at them both between bites of her food. Cameron’s only response was, “If you’re going to bite, make sure I can actually feel it.”
“See, if I did that then you’d be naked right now.”
“So confident,” Cameron said, getting another bite in before Eden refused any more. He went to pick her up and Nik followed them back to the nursery. “I’m sure you’d like to believe that.”
Before Nik could respond, he felt his pocket buzz. Nik cut Cameron a withering glare before pulling his phone out to see a text from Lev.
Lev: How’s Eden?
Nik wrinkled his nose and watched Eden wrestle and kick at Cam while getting cleaned up.
Nik: Trying to put her foot thru Cam’s stomach
Lev: Bitty girl not happy she has to get clean?
Eden screeched angrily while Cameron wiped down her face with a baby wipe. Cameron blissfully ignored her temperament and went about continuing to clean her up.
Nik: Something like that. At this rate she’s going to end up eating the baby wipes. I’m sure it’ll be fine
Lev: Try making faces at her. She thinks she’s being ignored
Nik relayed the message and Cameron rolled his eyes. “Or she’s just being a brat because there’s a baby wipe on her face and she’s being forced to get cleaned up.”
“Well,” Nik said, “I’m sure you are capable of telling Lev that.”
“So are you,” Cameron said, sitting Eden up. “You’re the one with the phone.”
Eden shoved her fist in her mouth while babbling and kicking her feet. Nik frowned when he looked back down at his phone. Amara apparently had stolen Lev’s phone.
Lev: Stop distracting Lev.
Nik: Im sorry but LEV distracted ME fiRST
Lev: 🖕
Nik: Very mature, Mar. Nik: Also Cam said he was going to feed you to his guards if you keep walking in the house like that
Lev: mmmm sexy Lev: Stop distracting me. Shutting off the phone now
Nik shoved his phone in his pocket and moved out of the way while Cameorn went to the dresser to get another black long sleeved onesie after stripping Eden down. “Amara’s holding Lev hostage. I think he wants help.”
“He’ll be fine, I’m sure,” Cameorn said, dismissively. “He’s the one that went with her. And as often as Amara claims, she can protect him if something happens.”
“I mean help from her.”
“Well that is a pickle,” Cameron said, scooping a newly clothed Eden up. “Oh well. Come on, you little monster. I think it’s playtime with some toys that don’t make any noise.”
Eden was looking at Nik over Cameron’s shoulder while they started for the living room, and clawing at Cameron’s skin contentedly. Nik hummed. “Her eyes are turning green.”
“I saw,” Cameron said. There was a faint tone in Cameron’s voice that Nik wasn’t quite able to place. “My mother has the same ones. So do my brothers. It would make sense she would too.”
“Would you rather she didn’t?”
“I don’t care either way.”
Nik knew better than to not press any further. “What toys we playing with,” he said, starting for the closet with all the toys. “I bet she wants to play with the piano.”
“I bet she doesn’t.”
----------
Lev locked the door behind himself and huffed. Amara was ten times worse than he remembered. Or maybe Lev was less in the mood to deal with her shenanigans. He settled on the bathroom counter and pulled out his phone. In less than a minute he called Nik, hoping that would calm him down before he did something like pick a fight with Amara he knew he couldn’t win.
It had been hours now, and he wanted to hear Nik’s voice.
“Hello, Levant. How are you?”
Oh. Oh he sounded too cheerful for Lev to trust that.
Lev swallowed his pride and said, “I made a mistake.”
“Oh?” Nik asked, amused. “And what’s that?”
“I should have just let Cameron snap her neck,” Lev moaned. “Come get me? Please?”
Nik’s voice got distant, as if he had pulled away from the phone, but Lev clearly heard him say, “Hey, Cam, Lev said you can snap Amara’s neck.”
“Nik,” Lev blurted. “I wasn’t serious.”
Again Nik’s voice was further away as he said, “Wait, no. He changed his mind,” before saying to Lev, “You can’t just tease him like that, Lev.”
“Nik, please,” Lev tried. “I wanna come home.”
“Okay, but you chose to abandon us for Amara. You could have just stayed with us and the baby but you decided to leave on your own accord.”
Lev felt his bottom lip tremble, even if it was a stupid reason to cry. “I was trying to keep the peace. Cameron looked like he was going to hurt her, and I- It was the quickest way to get her out of the house. I didn’t think she’d be this bad.” He sniffed hard. “Nik, please? I don’t wanna be here.”
Nik was quiet for a moment, before he said “Sure. I’ll be right there.”
“Thank you,” Lev said softly.
“No problem. But I suggest staying in there until I come or else Amara will never let you leave.”
Lev made a noncommittal sound, and just said, “Love you,” before he hung up.
After a few moments there was a knock on the door. Lev sighed and slid off the counter. When he opened the door, Amara leaned against the doorframe. “That bad, huh?”
Lev burst into tears, but she just pulled Lev into a hug and led him to the couch. He wasn’t sure how long he sat there sniffling, but he woke up to Nik leaning over to smother his face in kisses. Amara was gone, thank the stars, so Lev gave a grumble and tried to pull Nik down on top of him. Nik let him, settling on top of him so he could kiss Lev properly. After looping his arms around Nik’s neck, Lev sighed softly, kissing back sleepily.
Lev noticed Amara’s approach just seconds before she smacked the back of Nik’s head with a rolled up magazine. “Not on my couch, you bastard,” she complained.
Nik looked up at her, sticking his tongue out. “You’re just jealous.”
“Of you fucking my cousin? No. Just grossed out. I don’t wanna see that. Go home and fuck him if you want to so bad. Not like he wants to stay here anyway,” she retorted.
“I’m- I didn’t mean to offend you,” Lev started in a small voice, only to squeak as Nik shoved his hand down Lev’s pants.
“Dunno, Mar, he seems fine to me.”
Lev dug his nails in Nik’s wrist, giving a small, mortified, “Nikolas.”
That at least distracted Nik, who bit down on Lev’s throat. “Mm?”
Lev bit back whatever sound was trying to escape him and said, tightly, “I wanna go home. I’ll blow you or something, but not on my cousin’s couch while she watches.” Even Lev’s newfound exhibition kink had its limits.
“Yea, yea. Sure. Let’s go.” Nik smacked a kiss on Lev’s cheek before pulling away and standing. Lev stood more slowly, adjusting his clothes. He slid a hand in Nik’s before looking at Amara.
“Thanks for not killing me,” he said, lightly.
“Meh, maybe next time,” she teased back. “Get out of here and go get some dick, before you stink up my apartment more.”
Nik resisted Lev’s attempts to push him out the door long enough to shoot back, “Speak for yourself. You have sex just as much as me.”
Lev sighed in relief when he got Nik outside. He quickly burrowed into Nik’s side, and said, “Cam’s not annoyed with me, is he?”
“Nah. He has the baby to be annoyed by,” Nik said, leading the way to a sleek black bike. Lev pulled to a stop, eyeing it with distaste.
“You rode a motorcycle here?” He asked, more defeated than anything else.
“No. I walked here.”
Lev caught the helmet Nik tossed at him just barely, and sighed. “Of course you rode a motorcycle.”
“Only the best for you, babe,” Nik promised.
Lev huffed. “Somehow this feels like a punishment,” Lev muttered as he pulled the helmet on.
“Now why would I do something like that?” Nik asked.
Lev shook his head, and just motioned at the bike. Might as well get it over with. He climbed on behind Nik, wrapping his arms tightly around him. If Lev didn’t know better, Nik smiled at him over his shoulder.
“Hold on tight,” Nik said.
Lev shoved his face against Nik’s back, and didn’t open his eyes for the rest of the ride.
----
Nate had shown up right as soon as Nik had walked out the door. Right before he disappeared, Nik had told him that he was off to rescue Lev from Amara. If Nate hadn’t known better, he’d have thought Lev had purposefully tried wiggling his way out of training with him. But he did know better, which is why Nate now found himself sitting on Cameron’s living room floor with a six month old wiggling demon baby chewing on a pair of toy keys.
He still couldn’t believe that this little girl was created from the same DNA as Cameron of all people, but she was right here, the spitting image of him, despite the wide smile on her face and her hazel-green eyes. Nate poked her nose. “You are the cutest little shit,” he said, fondly. “I bet you make Cameron’s life hell.”
Eden babbled happily at him, waving around the keys, clearly in agreement with Nate’s assessment. Nate found himself smiling and poking her belly. “Goooood.”
“You can play with the baby without talking,” Cameron said, from the chair. “Or are you unable to be quiet like your brother.”
“I am physically incapable of doing what you want,” Nate replied, rolling onto his back to put Eden on his belly. “If that means talking nonstop, so be it.”
“What does my brother see in you?” Cameron mused. “Clearly it’s on a physical level because I cannot see otherwise.”
“That’s because you have the emotional intelligence of a rodent,” Nate said, wiggling Eden’s toes. “Isn’t that right, baby?” Eden squealed and smacked his stomach, nearly falling on her face, had Nate not been holding her in place. “Mmm. See?”
“Yes,” Cameron said, “I’m going to take the word of an infant. Great idea.”
Nate decidedly ignored whatever it was Cameron said next, and kept playing with Eden until Nik and Lev decided to grace them with their presence. Nate tilted his head back and looked at Lev who opened his mouth before instantly snapping it shut, eyes bright with apology. “Nate. You- I forgot- I am so-”
Nate said, “Nik, take the baby.” His brother was already moving before he had the whole sentence out. When he was to his feet, Nate smoothed down his shirt. “It’s okay,” he tried. “We all forget things, and honestly, who wouldn’t want to forget training?”
“Bay,” Cameron said, instantly.
Nate rolled his eyes at him. “No one asked you.”
“Well, you clearly asked someone.”
Nate ignored him and shoved his hands in his pockets. “Are you going to be able to train today?”
“Do I have a choice?” Lev winced, adding a small, “I’ll be fine.”
Nate gnawed at his lip ring. He wasn’t sure how to suggest they not do it, if only because he also wasn’t the biggest fan of training. He wasn’t exactly the best warrior, and he had no intention of being one, but he was of the right temperament to be able to help Lev, and he supposed that was why his mate had suggested it be him to do it. He was likely the one to go the easiest on him. “If… it makes you feel better, it’s not exactly my favorite hobby either. We could… skip for the day, if you want?” Lev did look like shit, but Nate wasn’t going to say that.
Lev shook his head. “No,” he said, “Bay’ll be mad at me if we don’t.”
“Bay’ll live,” Nik said. “We can protect you.”
“No,” Nate said, cutting his brother a look. “What’s going to happen if by some chance Lev is alone without either of you there to protect him? Hmm? Demons would chew him apart.” He gave Lev an apologetic look. “But we can take it easy for today. Work on magic?”
Lev nodded. “Okay.”
“Well, we already know he can make buttplugs,” Nik said, bouncing Eden.
He had never seen Lev move as fast as he had when he whipped around to look at Nik like he was insane. “No? That was Silas.”
“My mistake,” Nik said, dryly.
Lev flushed a bright gold, when he turned back to Nate. Nate forced himself to not smile at the mortified look on Lev’s face. “I’m sure you can do great things with your shadows. Why don’t we go ahead and head to the gym to find out?”
“Okay,” Lev said.
Nate gave him a small smile and led him back to the gym. It was just as pristine as the rest of the house with state of the art equipment, which clearly made sense considering both Nik and Cameron’s… extra curriculars. He went to sit in the middle of the training mat with his legs closed. “Show me what you can do,” Nate said. “I want to see how they work.”
Lev looked around a bit, before wenting to an unlit corner and just… disappeared. No.. he pulled the shadows.. Around himself. Nate’s brows shot up and he went to get up to inspect. Nate couldn’t see him- he wouldn’t be able to see anything if he hadn’t known that Lev was there. He could still smell his magic, still sense it; the same sweet angelic scent that all angel magic had.
The shadows started fading away and Lev’s golden eyes eventually reappeared. “I’m pretty good at hiding when I need to,” he said, sheepishly. “It just doesn’t do me much good in a fight.”
Nate smiled at him, pleased. “Well,” he said, “it’s been my experience that a good defense is sometimes just as good as a good offense. There’s no point of a fight when you can’t defend yourself and you just need to be able to defend yourself until you get to safety. Or in this case, to either Nik or Baylor. Or me.”
“Or Cameron,” Lev said, solemnly, clearly not realizing that Nate had left Cameron off that list intentionally.
“Okay,” Nate said, starting back for the mat. He settled back down on the floor and looked up at Lev. “So we know you can hide well. Can you make things with your shadows? Or solidify them somehow? If you can’t fight with them, then you could put up a wall and run. It’ll slow down any attackers.”
Lev was flushing a bright gold while he settled down in front of Nate. “Silas and I made a little progress with that but that was fifty years ago.”
Nate bit at his lip. “And you haven’t tried anything since?”
Lev looked down at his hands. “We… a lot of the stuff we did, I haven’t… we didn’t do it in the training room. I didn’t find anyone I could trust with that until recently, and I don’t like failing, so I haven’t tried. Sometimes when I’m annoyed with Amara, I can… throw some in her face, but it’s not.. Super substansial. It never has been.”
Training through alternative methods, or sexual methods, did seem right up Silas’ alley, Nate supposed. It was also up his, as well. But he did not think that particular training method would go well for anyone involved. Least of all him, unless he wanted castrated by his mate. But he was far too fond of his cock to even attempt it, even if he wanted to. “Well,” Nate said, biting his thumb nail. “I do not think I could help you with that kind of training. I’m sure Silas would want to, but I’m sure neither Baylor or Cameron would allow that, and I’m sure Silas would not go against my mate’s word. But I’m also sure that neither Nik nor Cameron would be against helping you, uh, train.”
Lev had gotten golder and golder with each word before nearly being as gold as his eyes by the time Nate finished, staring at him wide eyed. He gave a very faint, “I couldn’t ask that of them.”
“I’m sure it wouldn’t be too much trouble for Nik,” Nate said, dryly. “He’d be very eager to help.” Nik was almost as bad as he was, if not worse than he was when it came to finding reasons to fuck around. Nate just had more self control on the matter. Besides, his mate definitely would not do that, just because he actually enjoyed training. So abusing magic for the sake of getting laid was not in the cards. Though, he didn’t know how his particular brand of magic could be used for sex- unless Baylor felt like getting fucked by a ghost. Or straight up dying.
Though-
Knowing his mate-
Lev looked so embarrassed. “I couldn’t- I wouldn’t know how to-”
“If you want, I can ask him?” Nate said.
Lev somehow flushed even more before hiding his face in his hands. Nate winced. “Sorry. Just a suggestion.”
“Nooooo,” Lev moaned, before giving a small, “Maybe?”
“I don’t mind,” Nate tried. “If it’ll help your training….”
The poor omega was so gold. “If you think I should…”
“I’m never one to suggest no sex,” Nate confided in him. “I don’t see any cons with this. Except maybe a sore ass. Though, I can’t imagine you’d be too upset about that. Not if you’re dating Nik of all people.”
Lev shook his head, head still in his hands. “Well… if you really think I should… but… Bay?”
“We’d still be doing our part,” Nate said, keeping the mild irritation out of his voice. “You’d just… be doing extra credit.”
Lev nodded quickly. “Oh I know, I didn’t mean- I know, I just, does he have to know about- about my- my sex life?”
Nate chewed at his lip ring. “He won’t know too much,” he said. “And either way he won’t care, or tell anyone. Even Silas.”
Lev finally looked up. “I didn’t think he’d tell anyone,” he said. “I guess I thought he’d not be okay with it.” Lev paused for a moment. “It’s not very… conventional.”
“Well, neither is being a hybrid raised among humans, and bound to humanity for nineteen years, but here my mate is. I don’t think he’ll care so long as you are training.”
Lev nodded a little. “Okay.”
Nate smiled brightly. “Okay,” he agreed.
-------
Cameron sat in the living room with Eden and Nik while Nate and Lev were off training until Nate finally left; but not before Nate pulled Nik to the side and Lev beelining for the wiggling infant on the floor. When Nik came back, he looked faintly amused. “Nate’ll be back tomorrow.”
“Fantastic,” Cameron said. “I’ll be at the club.”
“Your pissing contest is getting annoying,” Nik mumbled. Lev looked up at that, confusion etched on his face. “Nate doesn’t like Cameron,” he explained.
Lev’s frown deepened. “But Cameron’s nice.”
Cameron looked at him, disgusted. He was many, many things, but in the last three hundred years, no one had the gall to call him nice to his face. “Never say that again.”
“But you… are? You’re nice to me,” Lev said.
Cameron gave Nik an icy look when Nik started wheezing. “Stars,” he said, wiping away nonexistent tears. “Imagine calling Cameron nice. You’d probably think anyone that didn’t just kill you was a nice person, wouldn’t you?”
“Bay’s not nice,” Lev said, sadly.
Bay would probably be just as disgusted with this observation as he was. When Cameron said as much, Nik said, “Lev, stop talking. There is no way you’re going to win this conversation.”
Lev’s only response was pressing his face against Eden, who decided to smack Lev in the face, babbling angrily at him. Lev’s small wounded sound had Cameron rolling his eyes. “I think it’s time for bed.”
Nik seemed to perk up at that, but Lev looked borderline devastated. “I can do it.”
“I’ll do it,” Cameron said, going to stand up. “Bring her, if you want, I guess. But I’m going to do it.” Cameron didn’t give either of them the option to argue with him and started for the nursery. He had a routine and he was not going to let Lev’s hormones get in the way of it.
He let Lev change Eden into her pajamas but ended up taking her from the angel, saying, “Go get prepped for bed while I put her down.” Nik was already walking out of the room, pulling his shirt off. Cameron said, “Your turn.”
Lev handed her over, but not before getting on his toes and rubbing his cheek against Cameron’s and kissing the top of Eden’s head. Cameron refrained from wiping his cheek on his shoulder from the feeling of goosebumps jolting through his skin. “Night, bitty girl,” Lev said, to Eden before following after Nik.
Cameron wasn’t sure what to think of that nickname, other than the fact it wasn’t all that creative. She was an infant, of course she was small. But he elected to not say anything and just lightly bounced Eden while he went to sit in the rocking chair.
Her small hands clenched at his shirt while Cameron coaxed the bottle of formula into her mouth. She latched onto it like a starving man in the desert, but started settling against his chest while sucking at the bottle.
Cameron pressed his lips to the top of her head, inhaling the pure baby smell mixed with her scent. He tried not to think about how she happened to share the same eyes as three members of his family, that apparently despite this, she was supposed to look like him, though, he couldn’t see it. But perhaps that was just wishful thinking on his part.
----
Lev took a thorough shower, less because he needed one desperately, and more because he was relieved the day was over. He finally took out the plug, now that he had the chance to, and left it on the bathroom counter while he scrubbed himself down. Knowing how long Cameron took to get Eden to sleep, Lev figured he had the time to just enjoy himself.
“You're taking too long and I want attention.”
Nik’s voice startled Lev. He jerked, almost slipping, and whipped around to find Nik watching him, having poked his head behind the curtain.
“I was- I’m almost done,” Lev promised. He slicked his hair back and blew a drop of water off his nose. “Give me a few minutes?”
Nik pouted, but sulked off to the bedroom with a petulant, “Fine,” two fingers already in his ass. Lev watched him go, eyes wide. He turned off the water despite what he’d said, and fumbled for a towel. After drying off hastily he slipped into the bedroom and bounced onto the bed beside Nik. Nik didn’t even look up from where he was presenting himself, fingers still deep in himself. Lev ran his hands up Nik’s thigh, and then said curiously, “Can I...?”
Nik gave a soft moan, and just gave a “Yes,” which was hot enough in itself.
Lev nudged Nik’s hand out of the way and settled more comfortably as he slid a couple fingers in Nik. He didn’t get very far before Nik opened his eyes and looked at him.
“Use your shadows,” Nik demanded.
Lev blinked, hand stilling. “I- are you sure? I’m not- I’m no good- It’s not gonna be good.”
“You're only going to get good if you can learn how to satisfy me.”
Lev grimaced, but pulled his fingers out, eyeing the slick that coated them.
“Lick them clean,” Nik said, catching Lev’s eye.
Even though he could feel his face heating, Lev obeyed without thinking, sucking his fingers in his mouth. He held Nik’s gaze, taking his time. Once he was done, he braced his hands on his knees and reached for his magic, tugging shadows into existence. He ran them along Nik’s side, unsure if it was even tangible yet.
“You’re doing good,” Nik said, humming softly. “But make them a little stronger, Lev.”
Lev flushed. “I- I’m- okay,” he said faintly, digging his fingers into his knees. He slid them further, winding down Nik’s thigh curiously, before nudging them up. “I- can you even feel anything?” he asked, letting them vanish.
“A little,” Nik said, nodding.
Lev took a small breath. And then another. And then another, less small breath. His nails left indents in his skin as he summoned his shadows again, running them carefully along Nik’s skin. He was just starting to push at Nik’s hole with all the caution he could muster when he realized Cameron had appeared in the doorway of the bedroom and was leaning against it with his arms crossed.
Lev went gold, his breath catching. His shadows jerked forward, more solid than they’d been all day, shoving into Nik. Nik choked on his next moan, but Lev had already let his magic vanish.
“I can’t,” he said, scrambling back. “I- I can’t.”
Nik was panting as he said, “What’s wrong? You were doing fine.”
Lev shook his head. Once again he dug his nails into his knees, trying to figure out how to explain. Before he could put his thoughts in order, Cameron was at his side, uncurling his fingers with a firm, “Stop.”
Lev pressed his palms against his thighs instead. “I don’t trust myself not to hurt you,” Lev finally said. “I’m not good enough yet. I’ve never- I don’t use them on people.”
“That’s half the fun,” Nik joked.
At the same time, Cameron said evenly, “You’re not going to hurt us.”
Lev shook his head again. “You don’t know that. I don’t have any sort of control over this. I don’t- I can’t and I won't use them on you before I know I’m not going to fuck up and do any sort of harm.”
Cameron shrugged. “That’s your choice, but you’re not going to hurt us. We’ve both been through worse.”
It wasn’t until Lev wrapped his arms around himself that he found the words he wanted to use. “I don’t like having the opportunity. I can’t. I can’t.” He didn’t think Cameron really understood why this bothered him so much, and he didn’t know how else to explain it to him. He looked over at Nik, who was sitting up by this point, and tried not to cry. “I’ll- I’ll fuck you if you want something in- if you want me in you, but- I’ll just keep working on my magic with Nate, I think. At least until I- I trust myself.”
Nik leaned over and kissed him softly. “It’s okay.”
When Lev crawled into his lap, Nik wrapped his arms around him. Lev rubbed his face in Nik’s neck, and sighed. “Do you still want sex?”
Cameron snorted from beside them.
Nik ran his hands down Lev’s back. “I always want sex.” His hands drifted lower, grabbing at Lev’s ass. “How about I ride you? That seems fair.”
Lev nosed under Nik’s jaw before nipping at his neck shyly. “Okay,” he said softly. “I can do that.”
