Case in point about quality/people eating it up, the aforementioned author posted two snippets of her book where the story hasn’t even started yet but there’s a missing word and a typo because she seems to think she’s beyond needing an editor. Mistakes happen but come on. In the first sentence of your dedication? Maybe other people don’t mind but it’s not a selling point for a book to me and believe me, the rest of the book is like that too. Every bit of it I’ve ever seen has had an issue, from typos, to missing words, to character name continuity.

Gonna ramble about my brand new AU that I don't know the name of yet. Eheh <3 (Cut cause.... I'm the ramblrerrrr)

The whole point of the AU is that the units aren't in DJ units anymore. They're in normal friend groups and stuff. Some of them are still connected to DJing, but some of them will get the DJ interest a bit axed. They're just sticking to their hobbies, lol. In this AU Yoba Academy's a "normal" Japanese school. As in, it gives as much chances to their other parts of the curriculum with the arts like in canon. Sooooo I'm just saying that Yoba becomes Nijigasaki High School from Love Live yeah.

For Arisugawa, Seiho and the unnamed University of Nagisa and Tsubaki, they're still the same. This also applies to ABCD's school.

Anyway, I have given myself "rules" to this AU. These rules mostly apply to the units in Yoba Academy because that's the school that's heavily affected by this AU. With this premise, it can lead to out of character things happening like crazy so:

The way the units meet must still be similar as it is in canon. Example: Peaky P-key met each other in middle school, so they'll still meet in middle school. Kyoko's interest in Shinobu's music caused all four of them to connect, so in the AU it's still the same.

If the character is closely related to DJing (like with the DJs), they must still keep that in *some way in their AU counterpart. If their connection to DJing isn't strong, that can be taken out. Example: Shinobu's very closely tied to DJing even though she has gaming as her hobby. So in this AU, Shinobu is a silent radio DJ in her grandfather's radio station. Esora isn't that connected to DJing compared to Shinobu, so she's part of the top 10 students of the second years in Yoba. (I'm not too sure on this one, mostly because if you take out the fact that she's a performer for Peaky, Esora has nothing to do at school.) *Note: They don't necessarily need to be a DJ in the AU. I'm thinking of making Haruna in this AU a vinyl record and vinyl player collector, so yeah.

Design-wise, they must wear one article of clothing they don't usually wear in their school uniform. This can be taken from an actual piece of clothing they have worn in their casual outfits/event outfits or just a piece of clothing I think they would wear in the AU. They must still wear the skirts, however. (This is to limit myself and get more create with designs, also I might give everyone pants and shorts if I don't.) Example: For winter, Yuka wears a letterman jacket she got as a gift from her father. This is because many people would think she's part of one of the sports clubs but, in actuality, she's part of the photography club.

They don't need to be in a club relating to their hobbies if it doesn't fit the character to decide to join one. Example: Muni's good at art and her hobby is art, but she wouldn't be part of the art club because she would be terrified of interacting with new people, especially because she would've decided this when she was a new student in Yoba Academy.

Their outfits (casual and a bit of their uniform) must be late 90s/early 2000s fashion inspired or Japanese fashion inspired. This is mostly because I don't like fashion today. Doesn't need to be one-to-one, just need to be inspired or have articles of clothing from that era/genre. I don't really have examples because I haven't design the girls yet but trust me on this.

I think I'll leave this post at that. I'll probs make a separate post talking abt the units. (Aka Peaky because that's the one I'm most sure of cause this AU happened because of White Return.)

I watch the French countryside roll by as I hold the small, simple wooden box in my lap; a goodbye gift from mom and dad for me moving to Paris with my aunt Riley. In it was a silver ring with a fair-sized clear gem set in it.

“Aunt Riley?” I turn to look at her while she drives.

“Yeah, Little Man?” My aunt asks and her head turns towards me but her eyes never leave the road. She was a few years older than my mom. She was brunette and had hazel eyes. Growing up, I didn't really see her often since she lived so far away. But now I'll be living with her.

"I'm… scared… What if I mess up something simple and look like an idiot in front of everyone? What if they make fun of me?"

"Well…” She pauses for a moment. “Then you'll know who the bad friends are. You remember what me and your mom keep telling you, yeah?" She says as more buildings begin to roll by.

"... 'Those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.'"

“Exactly!” She nudges my shoulder with her elbow, a wide grin on her face. “Say… How’s about after we settle in, we run out and get you some hair dye? You got an awful lot of blond showing.” Ruffling my hair as she spoke about it. I simply nod and go back to watching as we drive deeper into the heart of Paris.

"Haha-HA! ‘Course, Little Man!" Aunt Riley cheers.

I'm sure she'll have an idea for you.” Natalie continued as he was figuring out his new camera.

“Yeah! That's a great idea, Natalie!” Adrien chimed, gently tapping her arm to substitute for a hug before taking his camera upstairs.

Quietly, Adrien cracked open the door to his mother's room. He didn't want to wake her if she was asleep just to show her his new camera. He found her sitting in the window nook, watching outside. Inspired, Adrien aimed his camera and snapped a picture.

Hearing the shutter, his mother turned to see her son looking proud of himself.

“Hey, mon trésor. I see your camera finally arrived.” she giggled at her son's antics. She opened her arms and reached out for him silently requesting a hug, which he happily gave with a small squeeze. “Are you sure you still want to go to this school? I'm going to miss not having you around all day.” She said with a small pout as he pulled back to look at her.

“Yes, Maman. This school is number one in the arts, even compared to elite private schools.” He says as he double-checks the photo. “Plus, you know how much I've been working for this: convincing Father, getting that scholarship all on my own, building my portfolio…”

He looks at his mother's necklace, a cat-shaped pendant. She'd had it ever since he could remember, there were even pictures of him trying to teeth on it as a baby.

“I know, mon louloute. Don't mind me...” His mother laughs and ruffles his hair. “... You've grown up so quickly, I almost can't believe it's been 20 years already.” She says in a nostalgic voice.

“... You should get some rest, Maman.” Adrien gives her a bittersweet smile as she holds his arm to get up from the nook. Growing up, he knew how fragile his mother's health was and how she'd been getting worse in the last few years.

A canon compliant guide of Bruce Wayne’s officially adopted children

I noticed there has been some confusion about who all in the BatFam is actually legally adopted by Bruce Wayne so I thought I’d try and help clear some things up.

(Full disclosure you can of course headcanon whatever you like, I made this is strictly to help newer fans know what is actually canon💕)

Dick Grayson: Adopted

(Batman: Gotham Knights #17 and Batman #600)

Many fans argue over whether or not Dick is officially adopted, many saying it was never official and he is still just his ward.

Though he does admittedly usually spend the majority of his actual childhood as a ward, Bruce ends up officially adopting Dick as his son(as I have explained before here)in multiple timelines

Barbara Gordon: Not Adopted

(Batgirl and the Birds Of Prey Rebirth)

There was never a need for Barbara to be adopted because she still has a Dad. She is however still very much in the BatFamily and has trained under and with Bruce

Jason Todd: Adopted

(The New Titans (1988) #55 and Batman: A Lonely Place of Dying)

Now I couldn’t track down a comic where we actually get to see Bruce adopt Jason, but there are plenty of instances in which his adoption is referenced -including but not limited to these two- throughout several timelines and reboots

Cassandra Cain: Adopted

(Batgirl 2008 #6)

Now this one is a bit more debatable as aside from this one instance, Cass’ adoption is never really mentioned again even after the timeline gets rebooted. Still the general consensus is that Cassandra’s adoption is considered canon.

Tim Drake: Adopted

(Batman #654 and Red Robin #4)

Though Tim declines Bruce’s offer of being adopted at first, we get to see Bruce adopt Tim as his son about a year or so later. His adoption is also referenced across multiple reboots

Stephanie Brown: Not Adopted

(Batgirls #13, Robin (1993) #174, and Robin (1993) #126)

Now the main reason Stephanie is not and probably will not be adopted is because both her parents are alive. While her Dad is a villain and out of the picture, her mother is a nurse and fully capable of taking care of her.

Bruce does however train her during her brief stint as Robin and much like Barbara she is no less apart of the BatFamily, she’s just not in the Wayne Family

Duke Thomas: Not Adopted

(All Star Batman #1 and Batman & the Signal #3)

Now Duke is never officially adopted because technically his parents are alive just insane due to Joker’s toxin of which there is no cure. However Bruce does take him in and let him stay at the manor and it is heavily implied he may have been Duke’s foster parent until his mom was very recently cured in Batman Urban Legends so do with that what you will

Damian Wayne: Not Adopted/Biological child

(Batman and Robin (2011) #0)

Damian is Bruce’s one and only biological child -of the main canon- and therefore does not need to be adopted because you don’t need to adopt your own child
