I love teaching Gen Z.
Millennial here. My Gen Z undergrad students are so kind, so in touch with themselves, so thoughtful and empathetic and compassionate to each other. They talk openly about their needs and their painful human experiences with a candor and a self-kindness that has historically been seen as shameful, and they are breaking the hell out of that toxic thinking. They offer fresh, interesting takes on old ideas. They are flexible and willing to adopt new ideas when presented with compelling evidence. Yes, they're struggling and sad as hell, because they know they're inheriting a broken world right as it tips over the edge, but they're also hopeful and tenacious and tougher than they think.
I feel the need to say these things because the media thinks it's fun to be unkind to Gen Z. But five years ago the media was nonstop ragging on my generation for inventing avocado toast, so who gives a single fuckcrumb what they think.
Gen Z rocks. My students rock. My Gen Z mutuals rock. Times are extremely hard, but I really think you guys are going to be all right. You are stronger than you think.

⭐It's already said that Naoakira is easily moved to tears!
⭐So I headcanon that he would start crying immediately after hearing from his sweet mc that she's pregnant!
⭐I mean.. he's going to be a father!
⭐Saimon would surely start crying and sobbing so much that mc would have to comfort him, maybe patting his head or caressing his cheeks
⭐"I'm.. ..I'll.. I'll be a father... I'll..."
⭐During mc's pregnancy, Saimon would be so sweet and gentle!
⭐He'd bring flowers and gifts to mc each time he finishes working!
⭐I can also see him being so proud of becoming a father that he would tell anyone, even his students!
⭐His students too would notice a slight change in his behaviour, as he couldn't wait to finally hold his child between his arms
⭐And guess what?
⭐Yes, he would cry and sob a lot while doing it too!
⭐100% sure he'd be that husband always checking on mc's health, constatly asking if she's okay or if she needs anything in particular
⭐And I'm also sure he would be that kind and sweet waking up at night if mc has some sort of pregnancy cravings!
⭐"Tell me, my love.. ..huh? You want a sandwich..? Now?.. It's almost 4:00 am, love... ...Alright. I'll make you one!"
⭐Saimon would also be the one helping mc if she's vomiting or has nausea
⭐He'd let her lay down on his chest and then would softly massage her belly sweetly smiling
⭐Saimon is such a great cook, so I think he would also prepare mc's favourite dishes all the time!
⭐He would act a little bit more childishly in my opinion (but it'd be wholesome), especially while trying to speak to his son/daughter who's still inside mc's belly ..
⭐After the birth, though, I'm sure Naoakira would be one of the best dad ever!
⭐He'd be the one teaching his child how to read or write and also try his best to educate them to respect everyone!

⭐Yohei's eyes would look wider, while he would step on his cigarette.
⭐mc could see a slight but evident blush on his face while he would approach her and wrap his arms around her figure
⭐He'd be careful while hugging her, though!
⭐He doesn't want to hurt her or the baby, after all!
⭐Yohei would close his eyes in the hug and, while embracing mc, he would even cry softly
⭐Mc would notice it, but I'm sure he wouldn't admit that he's crying, even if it's wholesome!
⭐"I... I can't believe we'll... we'll have a child... mc, my love.. I'm.. I'm so happy!"
⭐During his dear mc's pregnancy, Yohei would get even more protective!
⭐Since he's already a kind of mother figure to both Shiki and Ryu...
⭐I can see him constantly saying to mc not to tire, or telling her that he's the one who's going to do something in her place!
⭐He'd take care of everything while forcing mc not to move and to relax and sleep
⭐Yohei would love to cuddle her by softly and carefully putting his head on her belly
⭐I'm even 100% he would whisper something very wholesome to their child, like:
⭐"Mum and dad are waiting for you, my love..."
⭐Especially, though, while mc is sleeping
⭐Since Yohei has his cold look, I can picture him being cute only when nobody can see him
⭐I think he wouldn't be ashamed to show his cute self to mc, but...
⭐I guess he would prefer to keep some more wholesome things to himself!
⭐Yohei would be that kind of father constantly holding his son/daughter..
⭐And when I say "constantly"... I literally mean it!
⭐He would bring them to Bar 4/7 only to wear a baby carrier and keep them there on his chest while making drinks to customers!
⭐And when someone compliments him for having such a cute and adorable child, Yohei would answer with:
⭐"I know right!.. They're my dear mc and my child, after all, y'know?!"

⭐Zen would immediately stop his trainings only to look at mc with a surprised look
⭐His cheeks would be blushed not only due to his trainings but also to the shock of the news
⭐He would soon start jumping happily and then hug mc, holding her and twirling around like in a Disney movie
⭐His happy chuckle would be followed by mc's one as soon as possible, while some tears of happiness would let their eyes..
⭐Zen would be so happy that he would immediately run to the other AKYR
⭐"G-guys!! I'll be a father soon!! I'll be a father!! Mc is pregnant!! My sweet wife is pregnant!!"
⭐During mc's pregnancy, Zen would take care of her as much as he can!
⭐He would help her if she's nausea or even covering her in a blanket when she wants to take a nap
⭐Zen looks like that kind of man who would proudly tell anyone that he's going to become a father soon!
⭐Like.. he would repeat it even to the other AKYR!
⭐"Huh? I have already told you?... R-really?.."
⭐He would train while thinking and imagining about himself and his dear son/daughter training together!
⭐I'm sure that Zen would protect his child so much!
⭐But if someone tries to hurt them, Zen wouldn't hesitate to protect them

⭐But he would also teach them how to defend themselves, so they won't need help next time someone tries to hurt them!
⭐Since he is already a kind of parental figure to AKYR (the fandom sees him as the mum, lol), well..
⭐Zen wouldn't have problems getting used to be a dad!
⭐I can see him struggling with only chaning his son/daughter's diaper, because I think he has never done it before!
⭐But he would be the best father, telling his child about stories, since it's said that Zen was born in a Rakugo family!
⭐And I think he would also teach them important values as well!
⭐"I.. I can't wait to hug them into my arms, mc!!.. I.. I love you! And I love them already!"

Favorite Thing About Them: When at its best written and performed, Peter Venkman is a complex, fun character, who starts far from being the more altruistic kind of person and is full of bravado about saying he is more cool and strong than he actually is, but slowly shows a genuinelly brave, inteligent, patient, vulnerable side that not even him could imagine that existed.
Least Favorite Thing About Them: When at its worst written and performed, he becomes a deplorable character who abuses his title of Univerity Professor to seduce female undergrad students to sleep with him, confuses "being charming" with insisting that a woman goes out with him untill she says yes just so he can stop annoying her, and never takes responsability to apologize when endangering his friends's careers, savings and reputation with authorities.

“This is a breaktrough. Professional Paranormal Investigations and Eliminations.”
“You know what this could mean to the University? They’ll probably throw out  the Engineering Department and turn their building over to us.”
“I trust you’re moving us to a better space somewhere on campus.”
“Ray, I apologize.”
“I guess my confidence in the Regents was misplaced. They did this to Gallileo, too.”
“Ouch. Well, thanks for terminating our grant, Dean Yaeger. I guess now I can call you “Mort”.”
“You’re always so worried about your reputation. We don’t need the University. Einstein did his best stuff while he was working as a patent clerk. They can’t stop progress.”
“Let me tell you, Ray; everything in life happens for a reason. Call it fate, call it luck, Karma, whatever. I think we were destined to get kicked out of there.”
“To go into business for ourselves and make an enormous bundle of cash.”
“He said a pair of psychologists are better than one. And that’s the whole concept here. Doctor Spengler and myself will staff the clinic and Doctor Stantz will take care of administration.”

“Hm. You know, Mr. Zeddemore, I sincerely hate to tell you this but I’m afrayed you may be eminently overqualified for this job. The pay is going to be lousy unless we really hit paydirt right away. When we advertised for a security man, we were really talking about some fairly dirty work with some degree of personal risk.”
“We are going to locate ghosts and spirits, trap them with concentrated beams of quantum energy, and remove them from people’s homes, business and places of worship.”
“Are you acusing me of cheating?”
“Spengler! She likes you! A girl likes you. You’re an animal.”
“Hi. I’m Peter Venkman. You have a problem?”
“Come on in. Let’s talk about it.”
“That’s all right. Just try to relax. You want to tell me about it?”
“We’re professionals, Miss Barrett. Anything you say will be strictly confidential. Trust me.”
“Batteries must be dead. Go ahead, Miss Barrett. I’ll just take notes.”

“There’s nothing there now and I don’t get any significant readings.  But that doesn’t mean that what you saw wasn’t real or that it won’t happen again.”
“If it’s any comfort to you, I don’t think you’re crazy.”
“I’m a qualified psychologist. Hysteria was my specialty and you don’t show any of the classic symptoms. I believe that something happened here and I want to do something about it.”
“That’ll be $5,000 for the entrapment plus $500 for proton recharge and storage.”
“Not only do they exist, they’re all over the place! And that’s why we’re offering you this vitally important service to people in the whole tri-state area. We’re available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We have the tools and we have the talent. We’re ready for anything.”
“Okay. Let’s start over. I am Peter Venkman.”
“Wrong. Who is Gozer?”
“A scourge, huh? Sounds heavy. You know what I think? I think we ought to get out of here and talk more about this. Are you hungry?”
“You’re going deeper and deeper... You’re completely relaxed, listening to the sound of my voice.” 
“Right... waiting for the Minion of Gozer - okay. But I want to talk to Dana now and I want Dana to answer. Dana... can you answer me?”
“You’re having some kind of experience that I don’t yet. It could be a past life intruding in the present. It could be some kind of personality split. Whatever it is, it’s going to make it almost impossible for you to hold a steady job, so we’re going to work on it more tomorrow. “Hi, we're back, I'm Peter Venkman and I'm chatting with three lovely ladies tonight, each of whom claims to have had sexual relations with alien beings.  Now without getting into any of the gory details, let me ask you, Elaine, did you maybe do something, or were you wearing anything that might have given your alien the idea that you were—-you know--available or interested? In other words, did you come on to this creature in any way?”
“Your alien had a room in the Holiday Inn?”
“No, you can't, and I think that's the whole problem with aliens. You just can't trust them. You may get some nice ones occasionally like Starman or E.T., but most of them turn out to be some kind of lizard. Sarah, now you told me your alien never even got out of the spacecraft.”
“Folks, I appreciate you're coming down and waiting for me, but if you have a question or if you want to be on the show you're going to have to call or write.  Nice cat, very unusual. I had a bald collie once myself.”
“Would you folks excuse me? I think the girl I'm going to fall madly in love with is waiting for me over there.”
“I hope to God you're waiting for me.”
“Help! Please, somebody help me! Get him off! Quickly! Please! He's gone completely berserk!”

“You asked for an honest opinion. I'm a psychologist. I'm telling you that in my experience most of the time things like this turn out not to be supernatural.”
“Wait a second! Take it easy, will you? For all I know the kid could be doing back-flips in there when you're not looking. I'm not saying things like that don't happen.  But if something is going on, it's not happening now and at the moment I'm not equipped to do anything but take wild guesses about it. I want to help you, but it may take some time and I think you should be prepared to see much more of me in the next few weeks.”
“That's okay. I'll give you a call later and we'll set something up, and you just call me if anything happens or if you just want to talk: or for any reason, really.”
“I don't, honestly. I think you're a really good mother and you're concerned for your baby and I respect that.”
“I have.”
“Excuse me, Dr. Spengler, but I think you miscalculated there.  This should be E over D times the coefficient of the cosmological constant divided by two which would be--let me see—- ten to the twenty—third times the speed of light--well, you can figure it out for yourselves.”
“Forget Landau. The man is light years behind in his thinking.”
“That's the point. We need some fresh new ideas in particle physics and that's why I like to help young students such as yourself. I'm the guy who told Einstein everything is relative.”
“Egon, from here on out I'm just going to nod my head and pretend I understand, so go ahead.”
“Well, you seem a little fuzzy on the details but it sounds like a great theory, Egon. I'm very excited. I can't wait to hear more. Now can I ask you something? Would you be interested in consulting on a very unusual paranormal event that I witnessed personally.”
“No, I swear it. Just a consultation. We won't get in any trouble. I promise.”
“You can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs.”
“Ray, I think Shakespeare said it best: "The man who steals my purse steals nothing--" Egon, what's that quote about the guy whose purse gets stolen: something about his good name or integrity? Forget it. Ray: The point is there are more important things than money.”
“Ray, I was there. A baby carriage took off by itself and rolled about four blocks at very high speed: it accelerated over level ground.”
“What are you going to do, Egon? Knit him a playsuit?”
“Yeah, you would. Mine or the baby's?”
“We're the Pep Boys, Manny, Moe and Jack. Maybe you've heard of us. Listen, if I give you a free subway token would you go away?”
“What the hell's it look like were doing? We're bustin' our asses over here ‘cause some douchebag downtown ain't got nothin' better to do than make idiots like us work late on a Friday night, right?”
“Just how powerful is this psychomagnetic stuff you're talking about?”
“I'm guessing they don't sell these at Radio Shack.”
“What, I gotta draw you a picture? We got three thousand phones out in the Village and about eight million miles of cable to check.”
“I told ya!”
“Gas leak?”
“We want you, Louis.”
“Because we're broke and you owe us a very big favor.”
“No problem. We were arrested at night. And we'll help you prepare the defense. Do you know anyone smarter than these two guys?”
“And I'll talk to a guy I know downtown about bribing the judge.”
“Seems like a pretty open—minded guy, huh?”
“That's right. We may be incompetent but at least we're sincere.”
“This guy doesn't know what he's talking about.”
“Oh yeah? You've got your head jammed so far up your butt you can't tell your ass from your elbow!”
“Maybe they just want to appeal.”
“You know, I think you were right. They don't really exist.”
“Gentlemen, I believe we're back in business.”
“Egon, is this the kind of problem that could wait or do you want to tell us right now?”
“Ray, the old place never looked great. If we're going to talk about starting up again let's at least be realistic. The place was a redecorated rathole, we worked like mules about sixteen hours a day and we ended up broke and in jail.”
“I think you put your finger on it there, Ray. Our liability insurance didn't cover saving the world.”
“Sweet thought, Egon. Couldn't agree more. I'm not saying we shouldn't save the world if it comes down to that. I just think we ought to charge more for it.”
“It's a lot airier than it used to be, isn't it? I think we're talking major skylights here.”
“Janine? Well, that cinches it for me. No way I'd even consider doing this without a qualified receptionist like Janine. What do you think, Spengs? You going to give up that fat teaching paycheck every week and those crazy physics department babes?”
“Okay, how's this sound? We keep it small, we take it slow, we play it safe. Residential hauntings, personal possessions, little stuff only, and strictly limited liability. What do you say?”
“Look, Janine, I know you left a very good position as an office temp and we appreciate your coming back, but you'll have to bear with us while we get things straightened out, okay? The holes will be fixed tomorrow.”
“Yeah, well, we're going for that whole new unisex thing with the bathrooms. Just look the door when you're in there. Where did Ray and Egon go?”
“Okay, I'll be down there. Let me know if we get any calls.”
“Oh, right. They're supposed to come today.”
“Well, I guess that all depends. I think we're going to charge you an arm and a leg. What seems to be the problem?”
“Somebody get the marshmallows. This guy's incredible.”
“Ninety-five bucks! I better like the way they look. Maybe if you cut down on the fabric you wouldn't have to charge so much.”
“It's what we do. Anyway, it all worked out. We're back in business. How's the baby?”
“Yeah, maybe so. I'll keep checking in with you anyway, just to make sure.”
“Do you like ballet?”
“It's a major passion of mine. Okay, here's the deal. I'm going to get tickets and we're going to the ballet, then we're going to a great restaurant for a late supper. What do you think?”
“The babysitter's included. It's part of the deal. I'll call you later. Okay?”
“You know, the girl who danced Giselle was excellent, but I thought the whole production lacked fire.”
“I was just resting my eyes. You don't believe it, test me, go ahead.”
“The story? Okay, well, as you know ballet is very abstract usually.”
“Okay, in the first act-—this peasant girl, Giselle--uh——drops dead. And then in the second act, her boyfriend drops dead. The rest was mainly just dancing, which, as I said, seemed to lack fire.”
“You're mocking me. when I spend this much on a date I don't expect to be mocked.”
“Okay, good work, big breakthrough. I want to go over the data with you first thing in the morning. Now go home and get some sleep. You earned it.”
“A little too quiet if you ask me.”
“I'll go with you. I'm going to go wake him up, see if he wants to split a brewski.”
“They grow up so fast these days, don't they. Why don't you give the fire department a call.”
“I'm just going to step out on the ledge and have a little talk with the boy.”
“Could things have gotten this bad this soon? You know, you've got your whole life ahead of you--and I mean that literally.”
“In a minute. I just don't want to make any sudden moves. Well, time to go in. What do you say?”
“Yeah, that's Brooklyn all right.”
“Don't let him out of your sight. I'll call you later.”
“Yeah, I was the loud bang.”
“I don't believe it. He blew my socks off.”
“Strange? You mean like birds dropping dead in the trees when he walks by? Or are we actually talking horns and a pitchfork?”
“I guess he's been practicing a lot lately because he seems to have some of those tricks down pretty cold.”
“My mother told me never to get into a car with strangers. Who are you and what do you want?”
“Ray? Excuse me, but I think you're forgetting something.�� We really don't deal in big-scale phenomena anymore. We pretty much stick to the little stuff now. If you recall, the last time we tried to help the city we ended up risking our lives and in the end all we got for it was some pretty heavy fines and a bunch of major law suits. You remember that, I'm sure: ancient Sumerian deity, big lizard dogs, hundred foot marshmallow man? I have to say we were very disappointed in the way we were treated by the city after that. In fact, we're even considering a move to the West Coast: maybe Los Angeles or the San Diego area.”
“We didn't even get paid for that last one.”
“We certainly do. Dr. Spengler and Dr. Stantz were just briefing us when your men showed up.”

The journey of getting back my academic spark
I'm currently working on my Master's thesis in Bioinformatics and completely lost my spark. What do I mean by that? Over the last year, I have found my place. My nice in the science community but more importantly the nice I want to work in for the rest of my life. I'm only 24, or already 24 depending on the perspective, but I am so certain that I, in fact, found MY place. Until it was taken away from me, leaving me bitter, alone, and empty.
disclaimer: English is not my first language. I'm really sorry for any spelling and grammatical mistakes. Please don't be too harsh on that.
I've been working on my thesis for about a year now. After I finished all classes in February I even decided to carry on a project I'd started during a class in my free time. Just continuing to work for a prof (unpaid and unofficial) because I loved it so much and still saw so many cool things within this project. Also since February, I've worked really intensely on my Thesis including weekly meetings with my supervisor. No break since the summer of 2023. And I loved it. I loved it so much. Most days I woke up, turned on my notebook during the first morning coffee and started working. Small breaks for daily life stuff and working till early morning. Sleep and wake up early to continue working. No weekends. No holidays. Working genuinely brought me joy. It was like my own little safe space. When I tried to hunt down bugs in my code nothing else mattered. And the moments when hours or even days of troubleshooting finally paid off are indescribable. This is MY thing. I thought about these projects while showering, walking the dogs, and sitting on the train. Nothing else mattered. I call that my spark. Both Profs I've worked closer with always said they admired the joy I bring to work. And both independently brought up the possibility of doing a PhD. I previously never thought that would be an option for me. Like yes, I love my work but I'm not good enough. Or am I? I dared to dream about it. Maybe only maybe this could be something for me. I was even more motivated. Motivated by promises of being allowed to do what I love so much and even get paid for it. Promises of being good enough. Constantly getting praised for my work. My supervisor was even telling me that he was concerned that I worked too much. That I never seem to be proud of my work. That it's never good enough for me. Other Master students in the department told me how my profs praised me in front of them too. This was the point where I started to hate it. I stopped believing them whenever they told me my work was good. But I continued to do my best. Not believing their feedback. Just doing the absolute most because I genuinely started to think I could actually get a PhD position. If I just get better maybe I would be good enough for a position there. Still getting so much joy from my work. I did everything for the possibility of being allowed to continue it. Well jokes on me. Now the students that started with me are finishing their thesis. Sending out applications for PhD positions. And I? Well I sit here feeling nothing but disgust when I think about work. Every time I try to start the same words echo through my head. 'I would love to let you sign a contract right now but I just hired 4 other students', 'I would immediately offer you a position but my contract doesn't allow it', 'There is no founding left', 'I don't know why I didn't think about you for this position'. Yeah me neither. But I guess there was no point cause I was already doing the work for free. Now I'm sitting here, nowhere near finishing my Thesis. He wants to add more to it. Make it worth publishing. I get that. But I feel like my time is running out. I get more empty promises. 'I will write you a letter of recommendation and send it next week.' That was over a month ago. 'I will talk to a pi and schedule a meeting. You would fit perfectly in that team.' He never mentioned it again. I think I still love my work. But I'm disgusted by it. I know that every email I send, and every result I present, will get praised endlessly. It makes me sick. They have to lie to me. If I were that good I wouldn't be the only one left behind. Always an afterthought.
I honestly don’t think they have any ill intent. Especially my thesis supervisor. I really could not wish for anyone better than him! He’s super understanding and supportive. He’s the one concerned for me. I think he just forgets about some promises. He doesn’t deserve to have a student who doesn’t feel joy for their work anymore.
It starts to really affect my mental health. I don't feel joy anymore. I am just really empty. And I want to change that. I have to change that. I will try to document my journey here. Even if nobody reads that. Maybe one day a student stumbles across these words and feels seen. And maybe, just maybe, they will be able to read a story of overcoming these struggles and get to a happy end. To my happy end. And maybe that can give someone hope. Take away the feeling of being alone with these struggles. Also maybe I can hold myself accountable with this. I have to work through this down to post about my progress. I have not lost hope yet. I can get my spark back. I have to get my spark back. I will feel this joy again when working. I am not giving up yet

a.k.a. my headcanons on what i would be like in Devildom and my relationship with the brothers if it was all real which absolutely no one asked for or cares for that matter.
a/n 1: lemme know your own if you wanna because i would love to read your versions of it. you can obviously read this as a x reader and put yourselves and throw me out✌️

• Right off the bat I wouldn't like the brothers very much from the start. I'd be pretty annoyed and constantly on the i-hate-y'all-lemme-go-home mode. So I won't be cooperative at all. And maybe, just a teeny weeny bit petty.
• I would try to runaway somehow at first. Idk how, but like you'd find me in library or some shit. Trying to find some way to escape from here. Being all sneaky so nobody finds out my grand masterplan for sneaking back up.
• But eventually I'd realize, life in Devildom is much better than on Earth. I am always up for adventures and trying something new so a stay at Devildom, among all the demons and being an exchange student and experiencing a whole new experience would always be exciting and fun to me.
• Now my first impressions and then the understanding of the characters. (I am only up till Lesson 15 ehehe👉👈👀)
Lucifer: I would absolutely love Lucifer. He would be exactly what I need to keep me motivated and focused. Lucifer just has that sort of authority, high reputation and strictness with that soft side that makes you want to make him proud and you put your everything to just get him to pat your head and praise you or just acknowledge it and give you that reassuring nod. I would die for his praises and that smile he gives when you know you did something right. At the start of the game I was scared to disappoint him so that would show and be painfully obvious.
• I would definitely, 110% consider him and look at him as a father figure and would call him "dad" atleast once by mistake. Let's not talk about how I'd be mortified and would not talk to him or show my face to him for atleast a week unless he hunts me down or something.
• As the game went on, I felt kinda annoyed about how strict he was and how much rigid he would get to the point that he took jokes very seriously. So it was very hard to satisfy him. But then I understood, he was tired and exhausted. He is used to how his brothers are and that is how he treats us too. He is the eldest child, he isn't supposed to take care of them, that's not his duty but he has too. He has a lot of responsibilities and I doubt he has any time for himself. That's why he is a to the point, straightforward person who doesn't wanna deal with anymore bullshit. I completely understand and relate with him.
• But that doesn't mean I would not take the golden opportunities to annoy him. Satan, Mammon and I would be total menaces ✨ just for him✨. Mammon and I would have a bet if I would succeed in my goal of making him laugh at least once. The other brothers would put their bets too.
• oh and i would soooooo tease him about Diavolo and what a simp the demon king is for him. i would live for his reactions. let me tell you, if DiaLuci actually happens, I (we/mc) was/were behind it. Yes I'll be the wingman they need.
Mammon: Oh I would brutally roast Mammon in the start. I see through people's bullshit most of the time, just don't point out sometimes. But Mammon can be read like a book by the most oblivious person ever alive. So I would call him out and tell him that these things won't work on me and fail all his plans of carrying out his tsundere ways of living. I know it would irk me a little and I would enjoy making him all flustered, considering how high and mighty he was acting in the start. (still does it to this day)
• But oh well, Mammon is Mammon. He would work his charm on me in no time. As time goes on and I study him more, I'd realize behind that tsundere mask is an insecure and scared boy who puts on a façade so no one finds out how vulnerable and needy he is. How insecure and scared he gets. How he needs validation, support and love a lot but fills that void by his own boasting and self-praises. I didn't say I wouldn't get tired of these last two things but I would understand him.
• In the end, I know I would fall for this cutie. And he would take advantage of my weakness for all-things-cute. I would always and I mean always, make sure to let him know, no, I'll tattoo it in his brain how worthy he is and how important he is to me. I would shower him with words of affirmation, constant and never wavering support and tonnes of love. And not once would you find me slacking in this, mind you. I just know I would love spending time with him. And I know he has good fashion sense (which I wish I could have) so we'll go shopping a lot. I have a good control over my spending expenses so don't you worry Lucifer.
Levi: I would prolly smack him and put him in his place. I don't like his overly obsessed, and very concern-causing personality. I mean his whole personality is him being an otaku. That's it. He seriously needs to touch some grass. So I'd prolly throw him out of the window into the outside lawn or something.
• Levi and my relationship would take some time and effort from both the sides to grow. I mean sure I love anime and I like video games too so yeah we can enjoy that together but this bitch was ready to kill me when he got into his demon form just because of a quiz. So yeah he needs to chill out.
• I guess in the end, Levi and I will be good friends. He isn't a bad person. Also I think he can introduce me to a lot of new stuff when it comes to the online and gaming world and I think that's cool. We'll prolly host movie nights with everyone every once in a while. It's a bonding time for everybody. It sometimes ends up in a cuddle pile much to Lucifer's relief or a pillow/popcorn fight much to Lucifer's dismay.
Satan: Oh My God, Satan is my soulmate. (Never thought I'd say that.... *contemplates everything for two minutes while staring at the floor*). Partners in crime because making Lucifer's hair grey faster is our shared life goal. At first it would be just His and Hellos and some random conversations in corridors or dinner table. But you remember how he asked us to go for a walk and look around Devildom? Yeah that would be the start of our friendship.
• We would get to know each other and we'd discover we have a lot in common. Like anger issues, toning it down and keeping it in because we have too much in stock, our love for reading and books and cats or just animals in general. I think every Sunday or something we'll go to a cat cafe. I guess playing with animals helps Satan calm down and distract himself for all the Wrath he has bubbling inside. It's pretty effective for me.
• I'd spend most of my time in his room if Mammon is not hogging me all for himself. We would sit around and read books, with him recommending me some all the time. I would love to discuss and theorize things with him. We'll share our opinions and ideas about future and other things sometimes at night too, just walking around after dinner or sitting at the rooftop.
Asmodeus: Asmo and I wouldn't be close at first, like at all. I don't like his self-obsessed, narcissistic personality. Also I hate being touched and hugged and kissed and all those things. Also Asmo can be very hurtful sometimes to Mammon and my protective mode would make me furious. I know sibilings do that (I have seen it lol) but I love Mammon way too much. I think asking someone to kill themselves is just too much.
• But eventually when I'll spend more time with the him and I'd observe, study and understand everyone more and more, I'd understand why Asmo is like how he is. I guess he tries to hide his insecurities or any hate/mean comments he gets behind that narcissistic personality of his. He is confident in himself but that doesn't mean it never hurts. He isn't actually a bad person and after spending some time we'd actually get along very well. I know I will like spending time with him. I would eventually learn how to ignore his continuous self-obsessed comments and just learn to live with it. As long as he isn't being judgmental to others, it's nothing inherently bad. I mean it's good to praise oneself (though he takes it to a whole new level).
• I think he would help me a lot with my self-esteem and self-confidence. And he would teach me a thing or two about self-care and beauty tips too which are much needed. We would have a fun time just relaxing and take care of each other and ourselves. I think he has a lot to talk and tell about and I speak very less so it's perfect. I'll just be a listening ear for him to rant about anything. I think he and I would go shopping a lot and he'll know all the best places to hang out and take good pictures at. I am not a social media person but people do say (not to flatter myself ehehe) that I take great pictures.
• Also I think I would eventually like his endearing words and light affectionate touches. I mean I am homesick and alone so it would be very refreshing. But you'd find me backing off a lot of times and giving him a look that says not-right-now-asmo a lot too because I get annoyed lol.
Beelzebub: Bros. Yes, we'd be bros. We'd randomly meet at the kitchen one night. He'd be doing his thing and I mine. But as a shitty cook and person with fire and explosion affinity as I am, Beel would offer to help me I guess (because he is a good boy).
• Bet he has lots of good recipes and I loveeeeeee LOVE, did i say love? FOOD. that's my one true love, the love of my life, my lifeline, my oxygen, my everything. High five Beel🖐️. So I would love to try everything new he makes or all the Devildom recipes he has. And you'd find me snacking and hanging out with him in the kitchen at 2 a.m. or something a lot.
• I am not gonna lie, I would ask him, atleast once, if I can dive in between his tits uh-i mean pecs, yeah pecs and suffocate myself for a few minutes or so. Spoiler: Would last more than few minutes. Spoiler 2: I would fall asleep on top of him and that would start an afternoon nap ritual where I fall asleep on him, lying on him like the fat seal I am and we'd sleep for an hour or two. Leave it to Asmo to bring everyone to look at us and click pictures. Lucifer probably has one too from a Polaroid camera and he has hidden it well for his eyes only.

“Are you feeling good? I sent over a goodie basket.”
Harry giggled, loving how concerned you were. “I’m doing good, baby.” He sees you tuck your head into your sweater smiling, when he notices it’s the one he sent you in a goodie basket after you got your second shot of the vaccine.
It’s spring break, and Harry can finally say he is officially vaccinated after letting the mandated two weeks pass. It’s perfect timing, honestly, as he has been itching to finally see you in person again.
Your university let you know that they would begin to have vaccine dates open to students through an email that you quickly forwarded to Harry. You had to register to get a date for your first vaccine, and slots were filling up fast. You shot Harry multiple texts telling him what day you got and time, but you went without an answer for an hour which is weird, seeing as Harry never liked to leave you waiting more than five minutes.
By the time he got back to you, he had to wait two weeks, unlike you, who would be getting in only three days. You asked why he didn’t answer, and he said he was in class. You frowned because even then, he always answered. He then confessed he lost his phone in his apartment and didn’t have time to search for it.
You laughed about it, but he was disappointed because he wanted to see you. To give you a hug. To hold your hand.
After spending his birthday together, you both decided against meeting in person for safety even though you both wanted to, more than anything. You postponed your date to the future. Instead, you completed the group assignment through zoom meetings that led to facetime calls. After submitting the project and learning that you aced the assignment, well, you both caved in.
Harry gushed on how he always got B’s on the professor’s assignments, and to celebrate, he sent you a dozen cupcakes from the bakery that you never stop raving about located only three blocks from where you live. Then proceeded to call him over to celebrate and who was he to say no. Harry was shocked at how rich and full of flavor they were because he wasn’t aware it was vegan. Yet, it tasted better than anything he ever had. Harry realized why it was your favorite, promising to take you there in person to have your pick of favorites and not only red velvet and carrot cake because they were safe choices.
You couldn’t say you’ve been on a proper date with Harry, but you’d like to count all the zoom calls and facetime calls as dates not that you let Harry know it would only inflate his ego. You’d start a call to ask a question on assignments, and it would lead to sharing stories back and forth of what their favorite book was to where they would visit if they could go that very second. You loved how insightful he was, also liked how he used pastel highlighters to mark his annotations. Harry was a fan of how you always had a pencil in your hair or behind your ear. How you always had a snack on hand because you didn’t want to listen to professors without something to eat or you’d lose focus.
You were glad you’d be able to get together safely but also taking all the needed precautions. Safety is hot, as Harry liked to say all the time when you sent him photos of you wearing your masks.
“Yeah, like the basket?”
Harry grins, but it’s not as bright due to the lacking pixels of your laptop. He holds it up, having placed it in his lap. “I did love the bath bombs.”
You smile back at him, “Going to change your life. Self-care is important, bub. Even in the smallest ways as a bath.”
Harry nods, “I know, baby. The reason I remember to take deep breaths each morning, no longer eager to reach for my phone.”
“Proud of you.”
“And I of you, baby.”
Harry shines his dimples at you when you turn your head away at the sweet name he started calling you a few weeks ago. You adored it, honestly, but it always left you feeling flustered.
“H, please.”
“Baby, I like seeing you flustered.”
“You’re a menace.”
He shrugs, still giggling.
“How are Mitch and Sarah?”
“Wonderful, sickly in love as always. Spend their time at Sarah’s like composing together.”
“That’s sweet.” You lean in, smiling at him, “you know we should all hang out together. I get to meet Mitch properly and see Sarah again, and you’ll get to meet Amy.” You grow excited at the thought.
“Not before I get to see you.”
“H, we got to coordinate a day that works for all of us. No need to get jealous.”
“Not jealous.”
“Sure,” you reply sarcastically.
“Got to learn to share me with Amy. I cook her lunch and dinner; otherwise, she’d be nothing but a walking cadaver.”
“I want you to make me lunch and dinner,” he pouts.
“I can now that you’ve vaxxed.”
“That I am, so you are.”
“Yes,” you’re waiting for him to go on.
“Will you go on a date with me? Think we waited long enough, and if my feelings weren’t obvious enough, I like you and really want to take you out.” he rambles on.
You interrupt him knowing fully well he could go on for days, “I’d love to, Harry.”
“Yeah, baby?”
“Yes, Harry.”
“Great. Friday then.”
“I’m free.”
“I know, know your schedule by heart.”
“Creep,” you gasp at the news.
“Shush, like you don’t have my classes added to your planner.” Your turn to pout.
“I like knowing your schedule, and they overlap.”
“I do too. Look forward to your messages every day between classes.”
“So Friday? What are you planning?”
“A picnic.”
You jump up in excitement, causing your laptop to fall back on your bed before you dive to save it. Harry yelling dramatically in the background as if you just dropped him.
“H, be quiet. You’re fine.”
“Dropped me, darling.”
“Dork.”
He mutters something in return, but you can’t hear him.
“So I’ll prepare lunch because you’ve told me once or twice that you’re hopeless in the kitchen.” Harry doesn’t even try to fight you because it’s true. “You’ll take care of drinks and desserts.”
“Seems like you’re planning the date,” he teases.
“I like picnics.”
“Well, I like you, so I’ll let you take over.”
Your smile turns soft, reaching your hand out as if you could reach in and caress him. “I like you, too. I can’t wait to give you a hug.”
“Counting down the hours.”
“Alright, you have class in ten, and you always struggle to log in.”
“Making me hang up. Not fair.” Harry frowns, debating skipping class for you.
“Don’t think about it, Styles.”
“Fine. Take care, baby.”
“Bye, H.”

Finally, it happened.

You were nervous.
Why were you nervous? It was just Harry.
Harry, who wanted to date you from your first meeting, who emailed you asking you out, and who has not stopped talking to you since February. Constantly reminding you of his feelings for you. You hope he knew you felt the same, in texts and sending him little gifts even as small as writing him a letter.
You got up early today to prepare lunch. You decided on sandwiches, a non-messy meal, and Harry always said he wanted to try the bakery bread you use and not the basic store-bought. It was a bit pricey but not as much anymore because you had become a regular, meaning the sweet owner began giving you a discount, especially when finding out you're a student. Still, you always remember to leave a good tip. The turkey sandwiches were finished with cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes. Looked so good that Amy had one as you were making them. You made three and packed them up in your glass reusable containers.
Staring at the sandwiches, it felt like too little food when Harry had told you many times how much he enjoys eating, so you cleaned up and got to make a second meal. You decided on vegetable rice paper rolls. A favorite and easy meal to make that you enjoyed eating. It was packed with lettuce, avocado, cabbage, bell peppers, cucumbers, noodles, and fresh herbs. This was a meal your dad made you all the time as a child with the special slightly spicy peanut sauce that you could drizzle on top.
Harry was going to enjoy this, so you hoped. He promised to make strawberry lemonade. Assured you that it would not be store-bought, and you believed him. During one of your late conversations, he shared how his sister would make him some when she returned from uni. Reminds him of home, he would say.
After packing everything away in the fridge to keep it cool it was time to get ready. You stood in front of your closet for a good five minutes before you began to swipe through the hangers. You knew you wanted to wear a dress; it was warm weather and would only get hotter as the day went on.
You searched your entire closet, there were three options once you had decided on, but you called Amy in to make the final decison for you. She decided on the one sitting in the middle of your bed, which was exactly what you were thinking.
The dress was a white button-front high slit that fit you nicely. You hadn't used it in quite some time, seeing as when you left your apartment, it would be in leggings, sweats, and the first sweater you could slip on.
You couldn't stop looking in the mirror, loving how it flowed around you when you twirled. For accessories, you slipped on a gold ring that had a little heart on it and another that was a gift shaped like a small snake as it was going to scale down your finger. A simple heart locket gifted to you by your grandparents hung right above your cleavage. You decided to leave your hair natural, liking how it air-dried after the shower you had that morning.
There was no makeup on your face, just your favorite rosebud salve lip balm that left your lips soft. Amy insisted you put some on, but you stood firm in your decision, knowing you'd be wearing a mask and didn't want anything smudging.
You looked down at the time on your phone and knew it was time to head down, Harry said twelve, and you didn't want to make him come up to your apartment only to walk down the three levels again. You grabbed the picnic basket that was sitting in the back of yours and Amy's shared doorway closet and made sure to place everything neatly, leaving room for Harry's drink and stashing a bunch of napkins in for any accidents. Basket prepared, you slipped your sunglasses in your hair, placing your lavender tote bag with tiny embroidered daisies on your shoulder that contained sunscreen, your wallet, extra face masks, and a book Harry had told he had wanted to read.
Before opening your door, you put on the white mask that you embroidered sunflowers on. It was one of your favorites, and glad it complimented your look well. You walked down the stairs slowly, not wanting to drop the basket.
You walk out the front door and find Harry getting out of the yellow mask on his face. As you get closer, you can see it's the one you made him. It has bees on it, and embroidered on the left side is 'my honey.' Harry had turned quite pink when he opened the gift he got in the mail over facetime with her. You happily screenshot his reaction, happy to have it to look back on.
As soon as you reach him, it's as if all the nerves you had disappeared. Calm washes over you as he comes to stand in front of you. You can't see the smile he has, but the crinkles by his eyes prove he's just as happy to see you.
"Hi, Harry," you say, your eyes taking him all in.
Harry doesn't hide, he's checking you out, and you're thankful for the mask at the moment, able to hide how bashful you're feeling. "Hello, baby. You look gorgeous. I'm a lucky man."
"Yeah," you swayed side to side, "gave me a reason to dress up."
"Always beautiful, but I'm so glad to see more than just your shoulders." He laughs, and you join him.
"Look pretty, H. I had not seen this cardigan." You reach out, running a finger down over the pastel yellow cardigan that looks to be well-loved. He paired it with a plain white shirt that fits him loosely with Gucci denim trousers that he told you he found a few years ago when he was thrift shopping in London with his mother.
"No, brought it out just for you. Wanted it to match my favorite mask." Although he couldn't see it, you hoped your eyes were doing their job expressing your joy. "Let's put this basket in the trunk. Got a blanket and a few pillows as well as the lemonade."
"And the dessert?"
He chuckles, "and the dessert."
You place everything in the trunk, taking a step back for Harry to close it. He walks you over to your door, opening it for you, you offer a soft thank you, but before you get in, you turn to look at him.
"What is it, baby?"
You stare down at your ribbon-tied wedges before looking up into his piercing green eyes. "Can I have a hug? I just--I'm really happy to see you."
Harry falters for a second before answering, "of course, come here." He's quick to bring you in for a hug, and it feels like home. It's comfortable, and you can't believe you haven't hugged him since February, a good two months ago, when it has honestly felt like a lifetime. "I would have earlier, but when you came out, you truly shocked me with how amazing you looked."
You just hug him tighter, enjoying feeling his strong arms around you. He looks at you smiling. "That was nice." You nod because it was, and if he'd let you, you'd stay in his arms all day.
"Well, shall we go?"
"We shall."
And with that, you were off to your first date with Harry, which would hopefully lead to more.

The drive to the park was short; you unloaded everything from the car once you got there. Harry offers to carry the basket, letting you lead to picking the spot. You walked ahead, glad he brought you to a park you recognized; it's one you liked to walk around during finals week when you were drowning in essays and exams. This was a nice break. On the other side of the park is a lake where you can rent pedal boats, but you were sure they hadn't opened up for business just yet, wanting more of the population to be vaccinated.
You led him to a secluded area laughing when he joked if you were leading him to his murder. Once you reached the clearing, one large tree with lots of shade and a few rose bushes surrounded it.
"It's beautiful here." Harry awed in amazement.
"Yeah, I found it my first year when I was trying to destress; I don't think many people know about it because it's not on the maps."
"Lucky us."
Harry grabs one end of the blanket, helping you spread it on the grass. You set your tote bag on one corner as well as setting down the pillows. As you make your way to sit down, Harry gently grabs your elbow, causing you to turn and look at him; he's holding a bouquet of tulips.
You felt your eyes well up with tears, not used to such a kind gesture; it's been a long time since you've been on a date with someone you really care about, "You got me tulips, H."
You reach forward and cradle them in your arms. "Course I did; I think you deserve all the beautiful things life has to offer."
You set the flowers on top of the basket before straightening up and pulling Harry into a hug. Your arms around his neck, his resting tightly around your waist, "including you," you whisper in his ear, causing him to squeeze you a bit tighter. Harry pulls back, leaving a gentle kiss on your forehead.
"Let's eat, baby. Know you made something delicious for us to enjoy."
Harry set the food out, and you are sure to hand him the wet wipes to clean your hand before you could begin wanting to be clean and not wanting to venture out to find a restroom. He eyed the sandwiches first, then the veggie rice paper rolls.
"Couldn't decide?"
"Wasn't sure what you'd like. So I gave you two options."
"Too sweet angel." Harry leans in to kiss her cheek.
"Think we ought to take off the mask now." You giggle, sad you didn't get to feel his lips on your cheek.
"Yeah, so comfortable it doesn't really bother me wearing them. I am hungry."
You place your mask in your bag, and Harry puts his mask in his pocket. He opens up both containers and digs into the veggie rolls first. He hums after the first bite, chewing happily. "Delicious," he mutters between chews.
"Can add this peanut sauce to give it more flavor, just a tad bit spicy." He watches you as you pick up and spoon drizzle a bit on top, taking a bite. Harry follows your steps taking another bite, and his eyes go wide at the added flavor.
"Shocked, I've lived all my life without this food."
You laugh, "well, now you don't have to."
He chews happily at your response.

Lunch is filled with little conversation, both praising each other for a well-planned meal. The strawberry lemonade complimenting the food perfectly. He brought a raspberry lemon loaf cake for dessert, and you happily admit you ate two pieces. It tasted so heavily, making Harry promise you to buy more in the future for you. He agreed, stating he'd do anything to make you happy.
"It's nice going out with someone, enjoying the sweet fresh air." Harry comments.
You hum in agreement, "I adore my alone time, but with the right company, it can feel just as perfect."
Harry's cheek turns rosy pink quickly, not at all trying to hide from you. You love that he loves to show how much you affect him.
"It feels normal like we've done this hundred of times already.”
You chuckle, nudging his shoulder. "It's cause we have. Just never called any of them dates."
"So you agree, we've been dating since February," he teases.
"Yeah, I think we can say that."
"When was our first zoom call?"
"Hmm...after class a week after your birthday. Think we worked for an hour and talked about nothing for another."
You look over at Harry loving how the sun reflects off his skin; it makes him look like a gift from the Gods. Harry feels your gaze on him, flashing you a big grin, his dimples on display just for you, because of you.
"We will call February eighth our anniversary," he declares.
You laugh, not a silent one but a full-out belly gripping laugh; you can feel the tears welling up in your eyes. Harry sits there confused, not sure where the joke was.
"You alright, baby?" He asks, just a bit concerned.
"That is what you were thinking so hard about; you couldn't figure out a week from your birthday quickly. Took you a good few minutes." You shake your head, trying to catch your breath, tiny giggles still escaping you.
"Oi, no need to be rude."
"Sorry, honey."
"Never claimed to be smart."
"The pretty ones never are," you tease.
"Alright, that's it. I've had enough."
Before you can stop him, he's on top of you, his fingers tickling you from your sides to your thighs. He knows your body getting all your secret spots that make you squirm away from. You almost succeeded in getting one of his hands over your head, but he surprises you by straddling you. You've stopped laughing, but Harry keeps going.
His curls are falling over his head, his eyes shining bright, a new lightness to them. At that moment, you realize how lucky you are, and before you know it, you reach your free hand up and place it on the back of his neck, bringing him down to your lips catching him by surprise.
Harry stays frozen for a second before sinking into the kiss, responding softly, wanting to explore you as he'd been thinking about this moment for months. You love the feel of his lips against yours; you'd happily give up breathing, never wanting to part. Harry tries to pull away, but you chase his mouth, not ready to stop kissing. He smiles against your lips, humming when he places a hand on your cheek, adding more pressure; you're not sure who lets out a moan letting it out into the universe wishing for more, hoping for forever.
You don't get butterflies or fireworks. Instead, you feel the ease of calmness wash over you like when you arrive home after a long day. That's what kissing Harry is like coming home.
You pull back, laying your head on the pillow Harry was wise to bring; you don't try to contain your smile as Harry stares down at you in a look of awe. You run your thumb over his bottom lip-loving how swollen they look thanks to you. His eyes never leave yours; you gasp as he places a kiss on your thumb before taking it in his mouth, sucking it gently; a moan escapes you, surprised at how hot the teasing is getting you.
"You're filthy, honey."
Harry smirks, "just for you, baby."
"Only our first date, H. We aren't going to move fast."
"A makeout isn't too fast for you," he teases.
"Felt just right." You smile, loving the feeling of his weight on top of you as he has not moved from his position, still straddling you.
"I agree."
"Sorry, I didn't ask if I could kiss you. Consent is sexy."
Harry's smile is soft, his eyes flicker to your lips, then back to your eyes, "You hereby have permission to kiss me whenever you please, my love."
"You know all the right things to say to make me puny for you."
"Good to know. Got to keep a mental list."
"What's on there so far?"
Harry smirks, leaning down his mouth right over your mouth; you remember the taste of lemon you felt when you kissed him, and well, you don't try to stop yourself when you attach your lips against his. There's no sweeter feeling, you've decided.
He pulls back, keeping the kiss short, "Know you can't be close to me without giving me a kiss. Know your heart is racing like it might beat out of your chest, and I know you're dying to ask me to be your boyfriend."
"Guess you are smart," you whisper.
He chuckles, nudging his nose against yours, humming as he places a kiss on the top of your nose.
"You know, I was right."
"Yeah, about what, H?" You reach your hand up to run your hand through his curls, brushing them back, giggling as they fall forward again.
"That your laugh sounds better in person. Know it's cheesy but truly music to my ears."
"You nutter!"
"Oi, picking up my slang, are you?"
"Got to, especially when you called that Evan kid a wanker for dismissing my response." You snicker, remembering the moment a few classes ago when you spoke up to give your opinion only for Evan trying to mansplain how women in politics were growing already especially having a female-run as a candidate a few years back. You would have cussed him out, but Harry did it for you. He packed up all your points with his own references. Safe to say, Evan has not spoken up since then.
"Cause he is one. You're the smartest person in the class, and that tosser should not even be in this class. Clearly, hasn't learned one bit since January."
"Settle down, honey. All in the past." You pat his chest a few times, getting his focus back on you. "Got that book you've wanted to read, want to give it a read now?"
"Course, baby. Happy you had it in your collection." He's gotten back into reading now that he seemed to have more time on his hands, and they had been bouncing recommendations off of each other. You had told him to stay off Book Tok because it was the same ten books being promoted by every page. His sister told him to read The Silent Patient, but he couldn't rationalize spending fifteen dollars, and he couldn't find the free pdf. He asked you and told him Amy bought it for you as a gift for feeding her.
"Let me get it out of my bag; you can lay in my lap easier to listen to."
Harry's eyes go wide; you're going to read him. He did not expect that, but he had to make sure. "Going to read to me, darling?"
"If you don't mind." you tuck your hand into your tote bag again, "brought my kindle in case you didn't want to. Won't be sad if you don't want to."
"No, I want you to. Yeah, more than anything. Got the prettiest voice." Harry pecks your lips, pulling back giddy because that's the first time he's kissed you, and well, he has to do it again. Your lips move in sync, the kisses feeling smoother but just as passionate. You break the kiss, playfully push him away, hands-off, letting you adjust yourself before he sets one of the smaller pillows in your lap and lays his head. Your hand is quick to find a place in his hair, thankful you've mastered the one hand reading and page-flipping due to always having a book in your hand growing up.

After reading for a bit, Harry lifts his head from your lap, taking the time to admire you. You kept reading, letting him take you in from this new angle. You stopped brushing his hair instead, allowing yourself to get immersed in the book once again. You giggled, thinking back at Harry's reaction to the opening line of chapter one.
You had just flipped to a new page, ready to start chapter seven, when you saw how fidgety Harry had gotten. He clearly had something on his mind, so you wanted to give him his space; you had only read five words when he spoke, interrupting you.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" Harry blurts, shifting to sit in front of you.
You don't smile, but you know he can see the gleam in your eyes at his words, "Hmmm...will you give me a cute nickname?"
Harry doesn't know what you're doing but goes along with it. "Already do, so yes."
"Will you let me make you more masks?"
"Yes."
"Will you knit me a sweater?"
"I'll knit you hundreds."
You nod, "then yes, I'll be your girlfriend."
"Yeah, you want me to be your boyfriend," Harry teases.
"Dork," you shove his shoulder, causing him to fall back. He gasps in shock.
You laugh, and it's music to his ears; his dramatic response is swallowed as he takes you in. Harry isn't sure where he'd be without you. He takes in the happiness displayed on your face and knows if you could look in a mirror, he'd look just as happy if not more. You are a light in his life.
These last few months have changed everything about him. Harry hadn't really understood what it meant when people said that your partner should also be your best friend. He thought it was cheesy and something to give false hope to others, but with you, he knew it was true.
Starting off as friends built a strong foundation for you both to grow together, and he is forever thankful you took a chance on him.
Harry called it fate, but you well, you think it was all thanks to the zoom gods who set you up in a random break out room not once but twice.

➢ How you two started dating? Well you met back in High School and that’s where things started to prosper
➢ Michikatsu was a generally well known man with your classmates, and even had a few girls crushing on him and his twin brother, Yoriichi, due to their scarily good looks
➢ Both twins were scarily attractive and that intimidated you at first, especially during high school
`` Have you seen the Tsugikuni brothers today?! They look so good! I tried asking Yoriichi out today but his attention was else where! `` You were off somewhere in the corner of a class, speaking with a close friend of yours about something completely unrelated until all eyes were on you, for Michikatsu Tsugikuni approached you.
➢ Obviously, you were surprised - no, appalled at how a Tsugikuni wanted your attention
➢ That was the day he confessed his own little crush on you whilst being on the roof of the school. How could you not accept? You also had taken a liking to the attractive raven haired male and saying no would be similar to jumping off the same roof where you admitted your feelings
➢ That's when worry set in
➢ All types of girls, boys, and theys liked them both, and constantly thirsted over the two while claiming "they're mine!" It was immature to say the least, but entertaining to see their feelings not get reciprocated from one of them
`` What if by saying we are together, they would start attacking me on purpose? Or saying hurtful things out of spite? `` You inquired with worry laced in your tone. Michikatsu took your hand in his, expressing his own idea. `` I know this might not seem like the best idea, but we do not have to openly tell people we are together, it can be our secret. ``
➢ And that's how your secret relationship started
➢ Of course, you had your worries, but seeing as how your relationship even made it to college due to it starting in your senior year of high school, they all simply washed away
➢ It was actually not as hard as you made it out to be to hide your relationship. During your first year of college, you knew not to act too close, but instead as acquaintances who simply knew each other back in high school
➢ Yet, even though some females who also went to high school with you recognized you as the girl who got asked out by Michikatsu, they did not cause any problems surprisingly enough
➢ Now, you're probably asking how you got caught? Oh boy...
➢ During your second year of college, Yoriichi and Michikatsu started living off campus in their own home that you were excited to learn of from your lover who happily shared the news to you when you both were alone in your dorm
➢ Around that same time, Professor Muzan Kibutsuji, the one teacher you loath the most for always favoring other students and failing to hide it, assigned a group project of 5 for your classroom, and to your luck, you were put in a group with not only the twins, but Douma and Shinobu
➢ You were friends with Shinobu, but not so much with Douma. The male would constantly tease you, trying to get your number at any given second while you were put together at a different table to brainstorm ideas for said project
`` Sooo..~ What are we doing for the project hm? Maybe we should exchange numbers so that we can converse more afterwards. `` Douma's suggestion did not go unnoticed by everyone, who automatically knew what he meant by the wink he directed in your attention. Shinobu, who thankfully also hated the male, slapped him silly upside his head.
➢ Michikatsu, who absolutely despised him, always struggled to hide a specific vein that would pulse on his neck that hinted clear signs of aggravation, but unfortunately, you two were just not ready to openly express your relationship
➢ After the class and the slap hurricane Shinobu laid upon Douma, Yoriichi invited the group to their house, and you being excited that you could finally come over, said yes a little too quickly
➢ Thankfully, it did go unnoticed by everyone, so your nerves were relaxed
`` I'd love to, but I have plans with a special lady that weekend, so unfortunately I cannot make it, maybe Shinobu ca- `` ``I cannot make it either, but [Y/N] can and she'll text me the ideas anyways, have fun, `` was all the biology major female said before turning on her heel and leaving swiftly.
➢ Now having plans set in motion, you waited patiently for the weekend to arrive, and when it did, you were beyond ecstatic
➢ That's where everything went down hill
➢ Thanks to the directions messaged to you by Michikatsu, you made it to their estate with no issues. You were nervous and excited at the same time. It was impossible to not feel such ways when this is the first official time you would be in the private space of your boyfriend
➢ He had also given you a key to entering was not a problem, but what you did not expect to see was your boyfriend standing there and waiting for you
`` Yoriichi isn't going to be home this evening, so I figured we could come up with our own project instead, `` Michikatsu said with a fire ablaze in his eyes as he grew closer to you. The gaze itself caused shivers to emit from your spine once your brain registered at what he was suggesting, and you could not lie, the idea had you wet already.
➢ Obviously you and the raven haired male had slept together a plethora amount of times before, most times leaving you sore and having to suck it up and pretend nothing happened during classes while he sat proudly knowing he was the reason
➢ In a matter of seconds you both are now in his bedroom, you beneath him and him leaving butterfly kisses up and down your neck until his lips latch onto yours again, all the while getting you undressed
➢ Let's skip a little ahead because you know what happens here ;)
➢ By time Michikatsu is already balls deep within your wet depths and thrusting into you like no tomorrow, Yoriichi entered around that time with confusion plastered on his face upon hearing banging against a wall as well as another noise he could not quite decipher
➢ The confused twin trailed up the stairs until he knocked onto Michikatsu's room door, expecting an answer but instead all he heard was an audible moan of his brother's name
➢ The poor look on his face once he learns what his brother and his girlfriend is doing
➢ At that point he is fed up of being overheard so he bursts into the room, although he did not think the entire plan through because now he got the open sight of you having your legs wrapped around Michikatsu's waist, his hands interlocked with yours, as well as the evident sight of both your naked and sweaty bodies
➢ Needless to say, he was traumatized
`` Get out and knock!, `` your lover would say as he throws a pillow at the swiftfully exiting male who looked beyond apologetic. `` I did knock! You were too loud! `` At that point you were beyond red, trying to process the entire situation that just unfolded. Your relationship had finally been known.
➢ Michikatsu immediately pulled out of you, cleaning the both of your bodies of any mess (mainly cum and sweat but shh)
➢ Once you both were clean and fully dressed, your boyfriend carried you bridal style out of his bedroom to a certain twin brother that was waiting impatiently in the living room for an explanation as to why he just saw his partner and twin sleeping together
➢ Now, as the three of you were sitting in the living room, you and your lover being even redder than tomatoes, waited for whatever Yoriichi had to say
`` Now, I do not mind if two consenting adults are having one night stands, but can you explain to me as to why you decided to have such loud sex? `` You completely flushed at his explicit words, but also thankful for the fact that he was utterly clueless about your relationship, although it was about time to come clean. `` Yoriichi, I am sorry you had to come home and see that, but there is something we need to tell you..- `` `` You two are dating? ``
➢ Now at that point, you fully died
➢ Seeing as how you have been silent the entire time and left Michikatsu to say everything, you decided to speak up
`` Yes we're together Yoriichi. We have been together for a long time, since high school actually. We've been in a relationship since then and I apologize for not saying anything. ``
➢ Now that the news was out to the one who deserved to know the most, he was much more understanding and even excited about his older brother finding the love of his life
➢ But the next day, things were real embarrassing
➢ You and Michikatsu were extremely silent at your group table during Professor Kibutsuji's class. Obviously Shinobu's observant self took note of this, along with how you did not send her any of the "ideas" you came up with
➢ Shinobu, Douma, and Yoriichi all stared at the two of you, who were now sitting beside each other and being reddened messes at the news you are about to drop on the observers who were starting to get impatient
➢ You've been secretly dating for years and now that the truth is about to come out, it felt gut wrenching to say the least
`` My brother and [Y/N] have something they'd like to say, `` Yoriichi started so that the topic could get a move on and everyone could get a good grade by getting it over with and working on the project. `` Well..- `` said Michikatsu. `` [Y/N] and I are together, and we have been since high school. We were in a secret relationship. ``
➢ Douma being the fucker he is definitely busted out laughing, holding his stomach as tears formed in his eyes
➢ Shinobu on the other hand stared wide eyed, refusing to believe that she could not realize you both were together for such a long time
➢ Although Yoriichi had a proud smile on his face in view of the fact that the news was already out
➢ But due to the prying ears of many around you, some began staring at your table, the secret was now out and you couldn't do anything about it
➢ Even though, you both were happy knowing you no longer had to hide the happiness you two brought each other, as well as now Michikatsu does not have to worry about Yoriichi anymore, for now he will fuck you if he feels like it, give you attention if he feels like it, and get attention himself if he feels like it.

Bakugou:
The relationship between you and Bakugou was always strange but once the students had to move on campus in the dorms, it turned into a whole different story.
The secret meetups late at night in his room, turned into nothing more than a secret relationship. The way your sleep schedule was beyond screwed up from being up late in his room and having to wake up early to go back to your room before anyone noticed.
It had been going on for months so by now you were used to the secrets and sneaking around along with barely having any sleep the next day while in class.
The more the relationship progressed, the more Bakugou would steal quick glances at you and even when you were in the kitchen with the other students, he would purposely slide behind you and touching your back in the process.
One day in particular, the class had decided to have a game night and he wasn’t too thrilled about joining in. He had tried to convince you to come back to his room but you had told him it would make things obvious if only the two of you were absent.
He huffed, at this point he didn’t really care about the class nor their opinions on anything. He was a ball of fire afterall so when he saw you sitting with the class as they gathered up board games, he was over with keeping things a secret, he wanted it to be known that you were his and he wanted you upstairs in his room.
“I don’t wanna play this stupid game night.” Bakugou said in front of everyone but he was directing it towards you and you tried to ignore him.
“That’s fine, you don’t have to be here dude.” Kirishima patted his back, sitting down at the table and he huffed out a breath dramatically, standing there with his arms crossed over his chest.
“I’m not talking to any of you idiots.. Y/N.” He said your name sternly, like he was giving you a direct order by the look of his red eyes.
“Why are you so worried about Y/N being here with us?” One of the classmates mentioned and you had cursed under your breath, Bakugou was acting like a child.
“Because I want my girlfriend upstairs with me.” Bakugou angrily said, everyone growing quiet and you had gulped the lump in your throat, well there goes the secret.
Everyone’s eyes had landed on you and your cheeks turned a dark shade of red before you slide the chair back and stood up. You have never felt this embarasssed in your life, he could’ve done this any other time in a completely different way but of course the asshole had to make everything a big deal.
“No way,” Denki mumbled, trying to hold the laugh that was begging to come out.
You dismissed yourself, walking over to where Bakugou was and punched his arm as hard as you could, cursing under your breath and he smirked while wrapping his arm around your shoulders, winking back at the rest of the class.
“God, you’re so fucking embarrassing, Katsuki.” You muttered, following him to the elevator to go up and he tugged you closer.
“Oh shut up, you love it.”
As you two waited for the elevator, you couldn’t help the feel the classes eyes on the both of you. It was even more humiliating as you had to wait for the doors to slide open. You heard a few of them whisper about you two being a thing, some had mentioned how obvious it was and some mentioned had you two were complete opposites.
Bakugou obviously didn’t care, instead he liked to annoy everyone, especially you. So hearing people whisper about had fed onto the asshole ego he had, making his large hand grab your chin and give you a rough kiss on the lips in front of everyone.
The way your face was completely red at this point and all he did was give the classmates a evil grin before dragging you into the elevator and pushing the button for his floor.
“Why can’t you ever be casual?”
“Do you not know me? I’m far from casual.” He nudged you gently, laughing at your tomato red face and moved his thumb to brush across your cheek.
“Yeah, clearly.”

You had a crush on Denki for what seemed like forever. Since the first moment you met him on the first day of school till now. It was pretty obvious how much you liked him. Eventually you became bold enough to ask him to hang out.
Now you two have been dating for only a few weeks, you both had agreed to keep it private to enjoy the privacy and the time alone before the classmates end up finding out.
Of course you knew Denki a little too well at this point, you knew he would end up slipping up the secret sooner or later but it didn’t entirely bother you that it’ll happen.
And you were right, after a training exercise and having to go through some obstacle course that Aizawa had set up, he had sparked a fuse and as his brain suffered a shortage, his mouth had instantly opened and talked about you.
You couldn’t help but be over protective when he did go through that shortage phase, quickly taking care of him and making sure he was comfortable was a habit you picked up.
“So pretty.” He muttered as he reached for you in front of everyone and you froze in your place until he had wrapped his arms around you, clinging onto your body.
Your cheeks flushed, grabbing onto his body and holding him up straight so he didn’t lose his balance. He continued to mutter words like how you’re so pretty and he even slipped up how he was lucky to have you.
“Aww, Denki is in love.” Sero had laughed at his state, making you roll your eyes and become more protective.
“Nothing wrong with that.” You admitted, stroking your fingers through his hair and dragged him over to sit down.
His head had rested on top of yours, his tall frame giving you a tight hug and you had choked on the air you were breathing on from how openly clingy he was acting in front of the entire class including Mr. Aizawa.
“Is there something you’re not telling us?” Midoriya had teased, the smirk on his face made you grow embarrassed.
“No.”
“Yes, we are.” Denki cut you off, his arms still around yours and the goofy smile on his face only got bigger.
“Y/N is mine. Only mine, I don’t want to see- I don’t want to see any of you near... what’s mine.” He managed to stumble out, his face turning blank like he had forgotten what he was talking about.
“Jesus,” You laughed, putting your hand over his mouth, glancing at your classmates.
You stayed quiet, dragging him away from the rest of the class and forced him to drink some water and sit down on a chair to relax until he went back to his normal state.
You will admit that he was cute and the way he openly told everyone what was his, which was you, had made your heart flutter.
“You’re lucky you’re cute, Denki.”
“Am I?”

Midoriya:
It had taken forever for Izuku to catch onto your hints on liking him and wanting to hang out with him more. Of course he was very oblivious and didn’t catch on for weeks, even months before you got frustrated and had been straight forward with him.
The both of you being completely shy balls made everything a lot more difficult, the hints he threw at you and the hints your threw at him had completely flew over both of your heads, it was quite ridiculous.
You knew Midoriya wasn’t going to make the first move, you knew he was too big of a anxiety nut to even be bold enough to tell you to your face that he likes you in ways that was more than friends. So you did it on your own.
It hadn’t even been a week of you two officially dating until Izuku slipped it up to Todoroki when ranting about how amazing you were and how much he loved watching your quirk in action.
Once he had revealed the secret, he had told Todoroki to keep his mouth shut and not talk about it again but later that day, Izuku slipped up to another one of your classmates, Ashido.
It wasn’t long until he had slipped up to the whole entire class and now everyone knew that you two were a fresh couple. The side comments the students would make to you both and embarrass the both you, making the shyness in you two grow and cause you to stutter to no end.
“I think you two are cute!” Ashido had mentioned, trying to assure you that it wasn’t a big deal that everyone already knew.
“You knew Midoriya can’t keep a secret for long.” She commented, making you laugh and agree to what she said.
You couldn’t blame him though, he was a little too excited to be dating his crush that he couldn’t help but talk about you constantly to all his friends. He couldn’t help but stare at you and want to talk about how pretty you are and the characteristics he liked most about you.
It was in his nature, he was proud and lucky that he just had that urge to tell the whole world about you and it made butterflies explode in your stomach and it also made you want to kiss him desperately but you decided to not do that in front of everyone.
“I’m sorry, I know you didn’t want to tell anyone right away.” He mumbled towards you, the look of guilt washing over his features and you shook your head, embracing him in a tight hug.
“Don’t be sorry! I’m glad you told people.”

AU - Lena Luthor Saves Krypton
Lena is somehow sent back in time and finds herself on Krypton 30 years before the planet explodes. Kara doesn’t exist yet. Krypton has no idea what’s about to happen to them.
Lena realizes that with her knowledge of what’s to come and intellect to devise a solution, she can do two things. One, she can save an entire species from near extinction. Two, she can save Kara from ever having to experience the pain of losing her family, her home, and being abandoned. Kara could live a happy life and never know the burden of Supergirl or being the last daughter of Krypton.
So instead of trying to find a way back to Earth, back to her own time, she settles into life on Krypton, becomes fluent in Kryptonese, and sets about with a spectacularly single-minded focus of changing the future - to save this dying world (and Kara).
She succeeds...mostly. They can’t fix the damage that’s already been done to the planet. Their sun will die and destroy Krypton still, but with Lena’s help they’re able to locate a barren planet in another system that has a white star. It’s brand new, strong, and will live for untold trillions of years (provided Kryptonians didn’t try to harness its power again).
They terraform the planet and create “New Krypton” using the dome concept that Zor-El invented fused with Coluan bottling technology. All Kryptonians are instantly transported to their new home that’s identical to the old one save for one difference - the white sun grants them god-like powers that are beyond what Lena ever saw Kara and Clark capable of on Earth. Kryptonians are overwhelmed en masse by these powers. Some go power mad and attempt coups and form radical sects. Others realize the gift they’ve been given and, with Lena’s guidance, Kryptonian society develops under a new mission - to travel the galaxy and offer help to all those in need. Not just offering knowledge and technology this time, but themselves with their newfound powers.
Lena keeps her distance from the House of El as much as she can. It’s nearly impossible considering their standing with the Kryptonian High Council. Lena has to work very closely with the Council. Jor-El and his brother, Zor-El, are brilliant scientists and statesmen. Alura In-Ze is a rising star in the judicial system. Her marriage to Zor-El, second born son of the House of El, caused quite a few waves, but when Lara Lor-Van, a brilliant biologist and prominent noble of the House of Van, agrees to marry Jor-El, it’s all anyone can talk about. All 4 of them live very public lives due to their professions, their positions on the High Council, and their nobility.
They’re ever so fascinated by Lena Luthor, the human from Earth that appeared one day to save their entire planet. Their savior. The one their people have named “The New Dawn”. Lena wants nothing to do with the House of El. It’s too much. She can’t bear to be so close to Kara’s family without Kara. It feels wrong. Unfortunately, with how much Lena tries to avoid them, the 4 nobles think they’ve done something to offend her, and constantly attempt ways to make amends. It only makes Lena’s life that much more difficult.
But she still knows the exact date and time that Kara Zor-El steps into existence. Later, she will know the moment Kal-El is born (mostly because Lara’s natural birth is all anyone can talk about).
Lena meets Kara on New Krypton entirely by accident one day when Zor-El brings his brilliant young daughter, a prodigy in the Science Guild, to see Krypton’s finest laboratory entirely unannounced. The same laboratory that Lena founded and runs. She’s stricken, having tried to avoid this moment for as long as she could, knowing that eventually she’d have to see Kara as child, which would spell the end of every fanciful dream or slightest hope she had of a chance that someday she would find Kara, her best friend, again. Seeing the reality both warms her heart and breaks it all the same. This bouncing bundle of joy and inquisitiveness has the same blinding smile, in all its purity, with that same head of golden hair.
“You’re THE Lena Luthor?”
She kneels before her so they’re at eye level. “I suppose I am. And you’re THE Kara Zor-El?”
The ten year old gasps. “You know who I am?”
“Of course. I know all the important people. And you are a very important person, Kara.”
“I am?”
Zor-El interjects. “I’ve told Lena all about you, my dear. I’m sure she’s grown tired of my endless babbling about my wonderful daughter and her keen scientific mind.”
“Not at all,” Lena replies a bit flatly and tries to tune him out as she focuses on the young girl who will one day be a most extraordinary woman. “Do you enjoy the Science Guild, Kara?”
“Yes! I love to learn new things. As many things as I can! Sometimes father asks me to work with him in his laboratory at home and I help him with his projects!”
“That does sound like fun. I enjoy creating things as well.”
“You’re the most brilliant bio-engineer on Krypton! I’ve read all about you! You saved us.”
Lena shies away from the praise and instead fumbles her way forward, uncomfortable under the scrutiny of Zor-El, whom she’d never given the time of day until he walked in with his daughter.
“Tell me, Kara, do you like other subjects besides science?”
Kara fidgets, a little confused. “Well, I don’t...they don’t give you much time for other subjects. I-I do try to read about other things like art and history when I have free time, but I’m not really allowed—“
“She’s a hard worker and a wonderful student,” Zor-El interrupts again.
Lena ignores him. “Do you enjoy writing, Kara?”
“Writing?”
“Creation comes in many forms. I enjoy being able to create things with my hands. Machines. Technology. Things to help people. Science is my passion, but there are many other ways to help people. Ways that I’m not very good at, but others are. Writing takes a curious mind, creativity, and a way with words. I believe you might have a gift for that.”
“A gift for words?” Her little brow crinkles as she considers it.
Lena nods. “A writer can do a great many things that a scientist cannot. They are equally as powerful and important. What matters is doing what you love most, what inspires you most. You’re going to do great things one day, Kara. Maybe with the Science Guild, maybe with something else... The future is limitless for you.”
“You really think I could be that important someday?”
“You already are.” Lena smiles and breathes deeply. “Do you know what your name means where I come from?”
She shakes her head. “I have read about Earth. It’s very far away and my Aunt Astra says their civilization is primitive and filled with savages. They have my name there too?”
“Daughter, do not speak—“
Lena waves off Zor-El’s warning without looking at him.
“That’s not an unfair assessment of Earth compared to Krypton, but I do believe humanity would surprise a great many Kryptonians, including your Aunt. In my native language, Kara means ‘beloved friend’.”
Kara beams in a way that is so achingly familiar. It’s like an echo in Lena’s memory. Not exact, not complete, but the beginning of what it will become.
“I like that. Does that mean I’m your friend?”
Lena feels it in that moment. The melting warmth simultaneous with the absolute shattering of what was left of her heart.
“I will always be your friend, darling. Always.”
Kara leaves with her father and Lena’s coworkers are concerned when she goes off planet for an impromptu holiday without notice. She returns two months later and picks up as if she never left.
It’s around that time that one of the people she’s befriended in her years on Krypton remarks at how ageless she seems for a human that supposedly has a short life span. It sparks Lena’s curiosity. Indeed, it’s been nearly 30 years since she traveled back in time and found herself on a new planet. Yet you’d be hard pressed to find a single physical difference. Kryptonians aged slowly under a red star, and even slower still under the white star, but Lena was human. Her body wasn’t designed to accommodate solar radiation the way Kryptonians did. She was over 50 years old now, yet she still didn’t look a day over 28.
More years pass and New Krypton thrives. The galaxy is brought together through New Krypton’s diplomacy and thousands of planets and species are united under a banner of peace. There are always dissenters, but happiness and prosperity is widespread. Lena finds joy in friendships and attempts romantic relationships, but nothing ever really takes. Still, she’s content. She misses Earth, of course, and hopes to return one day before she dies, whenever that will be, but she’s found peace in knowing that she is able to be the one thing she’s always wanted - a force for good.
She’s at dinner with coworkers one night when Lara and Jor-El spot her. She sighs and straightens, preparing for their next attempt to get in her good graces.
“Do they never desist?” One of them mutters next to her ear. “Surely they’re intelligent enough to know when they’re not wanted?”
“Don’t be unkind, but help me keep it short if it goes on too long.”
“Lena! It’s wonderful to see you,” Lara says.
“You as well. How are you?”
“Very well, thank you.”
Lena’s table has gone conspicuously, and therefore awkwardly, silent.
Lara and Jor-El look around at the group uncomfortably.
“We were wondering...well, our niece is being inducted to the—“
“The Science Council as First Order,” Lena finishes for her. “Yes, I’m aware. It’s a great honor. I’m sure the House of El is quite proud.”
“Indeed we are,” Jor-El jumps in. “She’s a most remarkable young woman and we couldn’t be prouder of who she’s become.”
“We are holding a celebration to mark the occasion and were wondering if you might honor us by attending? It will be quite the event.” Lara does a slight eyeroll. “Jor is insisting on all the fantastical things.”
Jor-El nods enthusiastically. “My brother isn’t one for celebrations so I’ve taken up the mantle. Kara deserves all the praise she’s earned with her hard work and dedication.”
“You’ll have to forgive my mate’s enthusiasm. He’s quite invested in Kara since she can share his passion for his life’s work while our son is—“
“Disgustingly hopeless,” Jor-El grumbles.
“Oh?” She raises an eyebrow. “A great disappointment he’s been then?”
“Goodness no!” Lara shakes her head and shoots a warning look at her husband. “Kal is a fine boy. Just...a little lost.”
“Perhaps he is simply in need of a different path than the one his father has in mind,” Lena finds the words tumbling out of her mouth without thinking twice. The couple stares at her agape, but she continues without care. “I can certainly sympathize with the need to step out of the shadow of a family’s overbearing legacy.” She sighs. “While I thank you for considering me, it’s simply not possible with my days usually booked from dawn to dusk. Besides, parties have never been altogether pleasant endeavors for me.”
The disappointment on their faces isn’t what changes her mind. It’s that as soon as she says the words, she regrets it. She’s, of course, kept up with Kara’s doings and was concerned when she heard about the recent move in the Science Guild. Was journalism just a secondary passion since she couldn’t truly use her mind on Earth the way she could on Krypton? Or was this a woman just following in her family’s footsteps because she believed it was the right thing to do? Lena hadn’t seen or spoken to Kara in 16 years. Not since the day Zor-El brought her to the lab.
In the end, it’s Lena’s concern and curiosity for Kara’s well being that wins out. Though she very well knows that the woman that existed in another life, on another planet, is not the woman who lives here now on New Krypton. Even if she shared the same name and the same face...maybe even the same bright eyes and sunny smile. Even then.
“Send me the invitation. I’ll see what I can do,” Lena says, to the surprise of everyone at her table, including the two standing next to it.
They nod, stunned but pleased, and say their goodbyes quickly, walking away.
Lena’s coworkers all turn to her in surprise, but she refuses to answer their questions and excuses herself early for the evening.
She doesn’t show for the celebration. She torments herself for a week coming up to it and can’t bring herself to go. The fear of the past and her memories being trod upon are too strong. But somehow she finds herself in the Starling Grove anyway, just as it comes to an end. The evening is late and guests slowly make their exit after the long day of partying. Lena practically sneaks in, staying in shadows, not knowing what she hopes to find or what she could see that would make all her fears come true.
Is it any wonder that fate would intervene? That there would be no circumstance in which Lena could fly so close to the sun and not be touched?
“If avoiding people is your specialty, you’re very skilled at it.”
It’s almost terrifying to hear her voice again. It’s a different language being spoken, but the voice is the same. As if it’d been snatched from the deepest recesses of Lena’s memories, of a different life and a different world, and brought to the present in flesh and blood with a bolt of lightning.
She turns and it’s Kara smiling at her. Not the sunny smile. The soft, tender, reassuring one. The one that she used to share with Lena when she had one of her harder days. Kara was no longer the small and precocious child she met all those years ago, the one that she could almost convince herself was a complete stranger and that there was no connection between the child and the woman she knew. But that was gone now. The Kara standing before her was the same one she’d left behind on Earth. The one she’d given up in order to save her. The one who walked into her office so many years ago, trailing behind her cousin, and Lena knew she was done for. 
Her eyes were so blue as she looked at her...bluer than Lena remembered and it seemed so impossible. Perhaps it wasn’t real. Perhaps she was dreaming. But she wasn’t...was she?
“My skills must be rusty since you were able to catch me.”
Kara put a finger to her smiling lips. “Shh. Finding people is one of my untold gifts.”
“I imagine you have a lot of those.”
Kara looks pleasantly flustered and she stammers over her words in a way that Lena knows so well that the sound of it squeezes her heart in a vise like grip.
She’s not the same person. She’s not your Kara. Your Kara doesn’t exist anymore. Over and over she repeats this in her head.
“Wait...” Kara finally collects herself and peers at Lena more closely. “You’re-you’re Lena Luthor! My Uncle said you might be here, but I never thought...”
“On my home world, they like to say it’s fashionable to be late. However, tonight was just a tad bit too far. I...I simply wanted to stop by and wish you well. A-and to congratulate you on your achievement.”
Did she manage to say that with any passing conviction?
“Thank you. That means a great deal coming from someone like you.”
“Are you happy?” She blurts before her good sense can kick in. “This life...does it make you happy?”
Kara looks at her oddly for a long moment, clearly thrown, but not put off. Lena doesn’t know what else to say that could fix her blunder. 
“Yes,” she says, a serene smile creeps across her face. “I’m very happy. I love my family and my friends. I enjoy my work. I hope to have a family of my own one day, but I don’t mind waiting for the right person. Everyone always wants to rush me into something, telling me that I shouldn’t be alone, but I don’t mind it. When it’s right, I know that it will be worth the wait.”
Lena’s heart stutters and freezes. “I-I’m glad to hear that. Truly. I shouldn’t take up anymore of your time though. I’m sure you have somewhere to be and it’s late so I really should be going anyway.”
“Oh! Um. Yes, of course.” She looks disappointed, but Lena can’t think about that. “Thank you for being here.”
Her legs feel as though they’re weighted with cement as she walks away. Her mind screams at her to run, but her body doesn’t seem to get the message. She doesn’t want to leave Kara’s side. Not like this. Not after she’s found her again.
But it’s not her. Not really.
“My Lady?”
She turns around at once. Kara stands there, fiddling with her hands, her head tilted to the side.
“Apologies. I-I remember reading that you never liked that title. You prefer...what was it...” She closes her eyes as she searches for it. “Oh!” Her eyes fly open again. “Miss Luthor. I should have addressed you as ‘Miss Luthor’, yes?”
The ‘Miss’ was heavily accented and sounded nothing like how she used to say it, but it still tore Lena apart.
“I never forgot what you said.”
The voice in Lena’s head screams again for her to run, but instead she draws closer. She needs to hear it. 
Her Kara.
No, it’s not her.
“What did I say?”
“I was a little girl. My father brought me to your lab to show me around.”
“I remember.”
Don’t let her do this. Don’t let her pull you in again. You can’t. For both of your sakes, you can’t.
“You talked about different ways of creating. Of passion. It’s silly, I know, and I’m sure you say it to all the children who read about you in school and have a serious case of hero worship, but...you told me I was important.”
“You are.” 
It’s a reflex. She can’t help it.
“And you said that I had a gift for words. I never understood why you would say that. How you could know...”
Lena chuckles awkwardly. “Looks like I was off the mark since you’ve just joined the Science Council.”
“But you weren’t.”
Lena’s breath hitches.
“I’ve never told anyone else this...” 
Kara steps closer, sharing a secret that Lena doesn’t know she deserves to hear. She wonders if she still knows how to breathe with Kara being this close after so long...so many years gone... 
“I started writing that day. That very night I went home and I tried it. I never stopped. I’ve never been happier than when I’m writing. Imagining stories or just writing my thoughts, putting memories into words, keeping a record of each day and what I’ve done, who I’ve seen, what my first thought is in the morning and my last thought at night. All of it.”
Kara was so close. She could smell her. Nothing like what she remembered. It was something altogether new and still...still... Lena’s heart beat so loudly, she was sure every Kryptonian within miles was wondering what that raucous drumming noise was. What must Kara think? Surely she could hear it. Lena was embarrassing herself.
“You inspired me.”
Lena doesn’t know how she manages it, but she somehow strings together coherent words. 
“But you continued to pursue...”
“The Science Guild, yes. I’m very good there. It comes easily. It makes my family proud.”
“It’s not your passion though.”
Kara shakes her head gently.
“What stops you?”
“Well, what if I’m not really good at writing after all? I’ve never told anyone about it. I’ve never let them read anything... What if I make a terrible mistake and humiliate myself and my family?”
“Following your heart isn’t a mistake.”
“That’s not a very Kryptonian sentiment.”
“No, but it is a human one.” Lena sighs. “I tried so hard, for so long, not to listen to mine. But it won out every time. Despite all the pain it brought me...I remind myself that it’s what brought me here. To this planet. To this time. To do good. To be good. Following your heart is the most terrifying notion, but in my experience, it has also led me to the greatest moments of joy and love that I’ve ever known.”
Kara stares at her in wonderment. Her long blonde locks flow over her shoulders. Her dress is white and flowing, almost luminescent under the glow of the evening flowers blooming in the garden. It became quickly apparent how very alone they were, the last guests and servers from the party were gone. The torches were still lit, but it was their own world.
Wasn’t it always?
It’s not her.
“I don’t think I could be as brave as you.”
“You have always been brave and I know that you are capable of the most extraordinary amount of courage...courage and boundless hope. You are the one who inspires me, Kara. You always have.”
“Me?” She replies in the softest utterance. “But I haven’t done anything nearly as incredible as you.”
“The kind of person you are is far more important than any sum of career achievements. Don’t let fear make you hide in the shadows, Kara. Step into the sun. You’ve always belonged there.”
“What about you?”
“Me?”
“When will you step out of the shadows, Miss Luthor?”
A voice calls for Kara in the distance. It’s jarring and breaks the spell that seemed to lock them together in time suspended.
They step away, now acutely aware of how close they’d been this whole time.
Kara blushes and opens her mouth to say something, but Lena can’t bear to hear it.
“Goodnight, Kara Zor-El. I hope you enjoyed your party.”
Another voice joins the first. Two people are calling for her now. Kara seems frustrated and turns back, yelling to them that she’d be there soon.
She turns back. “I—“
But Lena’s gone.
She leaves New Krypton again. Journeys to other planets under the guise of a holiday and scientific exploration. She wonders if now is the time to return to Earth. She can’t even call it home anymore, but it’s home...isn’t it? 45 years could be enough to make New Krypton home and maybe it was. Maybe it was more of a home than Earth. But New Krypton had spectres walking among the living. Lena’s past had caught up to her here as well. She was no longer alone. Would Earth be any better with a reminder at every street corner? A certain smell. A park bench. A pair of glasses. Food. All of the food on Earth. She would never truly escape there either. It has to be a different planet. Not New Krypton, not Earth, something else entirely. 
She searches across galaxies for it. Finally, one appeals to her. She can see herself settling down there. She can make a new life for herself...again. She returns to Krypton with determination. She resigns from her position, ignores the High Council’s pleas, ignores their more pointed demands, and even their attempted orders when it appeared that nothing else was working. She packs her things and bids farewell to her friends. They’ll visit now and again, but soon she won’t be seeing them at all. It doesn’t bother her all that much. She’d find replacements eventually. No one had ever been like... Well, she’d never let anyone get close enough to try.
She was walking out of her building for the last time, her luggage already sent ahead, and was headed to the transport when she heard her voice again on the wind, calling her name. Of course she would hear her now. This was exactly why she needed to leave this place. The sooner the better to end this torment.
The transport doors were nearly closed when a hand shot between them. The metal alloys were crushed in a powerful grip and the doors were jerkily pried open again.
Kara stood in front of her. Her hair windswept, almost what it used to look like when she would fly to Lena at breaking speed to rescue her. Did she fly here? Was she really here?
“Kara?”
“Lena, don’t go.”
“What are y—?”
“That’s government property!” someone shouts at Kara from further away. 
A Kelex zooms in beside her. “And you were flying within city limits which is strictly prohibited. Unfortunately, Lady Kara, this means we must place you under arrest.”
A patrolman, the one who shouted, walks up behind Kara, nodding his head in agreement.
“Arrest?” She rolls her eyes at the Kelex and turns to the patrolman. “The doors were an accident and sorry about the flying thing. I’ll pay the fines. I doubt Alura In-Ze will take kindly to you dragging someone in for petty infarctions, let alone that someone being her daughter.”
Lena finds herself walking out of the transport, entirely of her own volition, and watches it leave without her. Kara is arguing with the patrolman over what her fines should be, but suddenly Lena feels someone take her hand. She looks down and sees that indeed there is another hand holding hers. She drags her gaze up to find those blue eyes again. A ghost. A spectre. Everything she was trying to escape.
“I’m sorry to just...burst in on you like this. But you’ve been gone for months and I only just heard that you’d come back, planning to leave New Krypton for good. I didn’t...”
“You didn’t what?”
“I don’t know.” Her brow furrows in frustration. “I didn’t plan this. I just...when I heard, I felt like I had to stop you.”
Lena pulls her hand away and crosses her arms. She needs to get ahold of herself. This was all so out of control.

Kara is just as bewildered as she is. “Well, I...I’m not sure. But we’ve only just started.”
“What?”
“Don’t you feel it? I know you must.”
She swallows thickly. “Kara, I...”
“I think there’s a lot you haven’t told me. A lot that I hope you will tell me. You promised me once that you would always be my friend. Please, Lena. We both know that this...it’s not supposed to end here.”
“When is it supposed to end?”
“I hope not for very long time.”
“I’ve lived a lifetime already.”
Kara grins. “Then what’s one more? Should be easy if you’ve already done it.”
Lena shakes her head. “You don’t know what you’re saying.”
“Somehow I do...and I don’t. I know it’s strange. I know what I sound like. But I think you understand. Don’t you?”
“Kara...”
“Are you hungry?” She interrupts. “I’m famished. The flying thing is really fun, but I always get so hungry after. How about it?”
“I’m supposed to be boarding a ship in 20 minutes.”
“We can eat fast!”
“I know you can eat fast, that’s not the point,” she mutters. “I have to go.”
“But you see? You say things like that. Like it’s normal to just know these things about me, but it’s not. How do you know? We’ve only met twice and both times it feels as though you know everything about me.”
“Everything?” She scoffs. “No. Never.”
“Well, the important things anyway.”
Lena falters.
“Please? Just...for a little while? There’s always another ship if you really must go.”
No.
No, I’ve been through this before. I saved you. I saved your people. You’re happy. I don’t belong here. I’ve never belonged. This is your world. I don’t belong anywhere. I did what was right. I helped people. I still help people. But I won’t do this again.
“I’m pretty sure you know that a Kryptonian can tell when you’re lying. The white star brought us untold abilities. And the longer I’ve lived here, under this new sun, I’ve discovered more abilities. Would you like to know about them?”
Lena can only stare.
“If I’m close enough...and I concentrate hard enough...I can feel what you’re feeling. It’s not mind reading exactly, but something deeper. I can feel you right now.” She swallows hard. “What have I done to cause you such pain, Lena? I never thought that... If you have to go, I won’t stop you. I just thought...” She sighs defeatedly. “I don’t know what I thought. But it wasn’t this. It wasn’t pain. Or anger. Or betrayal.”
Lena’s eyes widen at the same time as Kara’s. She seemed to realize it only as she spoke the word aloud.
“Betrayal?” Kara whispers, half to herself. “I don’t understand.”
“There’s nothing to understand.”
“You’re lying.”
“Stop it.”
“I can’t! Tell me what’s happening. How can you be so angry with me, but also feel...like this...when we don’t even know each other?”
“But we do.” 
At last she admits it. 
In the quietest whisper. 
“We did. Once. In another life.”
Kara nods slowly. “Where?”
“On Earth.”
“I’ve never been to Earth.”
“Not in this time. But in another...you were Earth’s Champion. Our Protector. The Paragon of Hope.”
“As you are the Protector of Krypton? Our Salvation. The New Dawn.”
Lena shrinks uncomfortably under the titles.
“Will you tell me more?”
“You believe me?”
“Of course I do. You’re Lena Luthor. Also, with my powers I can sense you’re telling the truth, so...” She shrugs lightly at that, a sheepish smile.
“Right. Well, I admit I’m still a bit resentful that after everything I’ve been through, I still didn’t get even a hint of those powers.”
Kara takes her hand again, tentatively this time. She probably thinks Lena will pull away.
She doesn’t.
“There’s been a rumor for ages that you’re immortal. Are you saying that’s not true? From what I’ve read, humans have a shorter life span than us. Your species only live about 85 years or so.”
“I’ve heard the rumor and, yes, the average human lifespan is shorter than a Kryptonian’s.”
“You look pretty darn good for your age if you’re preparing to join Rao in a few cycles.”
Lena has to laugh. She lets Kara lead her away from the platform and down to the street. They walk hand in hand.
“So you’re not immortal?”
“It remains to be seen.”
“Then maybe our white sun did give you a hint of something after all.”
“Maybe. I have yet to ascertain the cause.”
“I could help you with your study, should you choose to explore it further.”
“You want to study me?”
Kara blushes. “I...I didn’t mean it like that. I only meant—“
“I know what you meant.”
Silence falls between them.
“You’re still holding my hand.”
“You’re still letting me.”
“It’s strange.” She stares. “You’re different. You’re so different than you were before, a completely different person, but somehow...when I look at you, you’re exactly who you’ve always been.”
“Are you different now too?”
“Yes.” She shrugs. “I think so anyway.”
“But we’ve still found each other. That means something.”
“Are you sure you want to hear this? You might be angry with me. I...I made choices that changed your life. A great number of lives.”
“I want to hear everything. But even if I do get angry, I won’t leave. I promise.”
Lena starts at that. How could she know exactly—? The realization hits her. 
“My fears...you feel them right now, don’t you?”
Kara nods. “I won’t betray you, Lena. Whatever mistakes I’ve made before...in that other life...I won’t make them again.”
“You’ll make other mistakes.”
“Of course!” She laughs. “I’m gifted, but hardly perfect. You’ll make mistakes too, even if you are the Great New Dawn.”
“Two prodigies...” Lena raises an eyebrow. “I don’t know how people stand us. We must be insufferable to be around.”
“I can’t be held accountable for the jealousy of others.”
Lena chuckles. “Good to know you’re as competitive as ever.”
“And you? Are you competitive as well?”
“On occasion...when it comes to the right things.”
Kara grins. “Tell me more about Earth.”
“Earth or...you on Earth?”
“Both. Or just one. Whatever you like. We have all the time we need. We’ll get to it eventually.”
“Kara?”
“Yes?”
“What do you want?”
“You.”
“How do you know that?”
“I just do.”
“You’re not afraid?”
“Of losing you? Yes, I’m afraid. I thought I did when you left me in the Grove that night.”
“It’s different this time though.”
“Different how?”
“You were afraid before. O-on Earth. So you lied to me. Hid things from me. You were afraid I’d reject you.”
“So I lost you anyway?”
“For a while.”
“I know who I am and I want to share all of that with you. I’m afraid I’ll lose you if I don’t. Do you think that means I learned my lesson with a second chance?”
“Even though you don’t remember the first?”
Kara tilts her head thoughtfully.  “Are you familiar with the theological concept of reincarnation?”
Lena nods.
“Many species and cultures detail it differently, but the belief that a soul does not reside in an afterlife fascinates me. The idea that one could instead be reborn and is destined to learn new lessons with each life that it failed to learn in the last. Maybe we found a way to do that without needing to die at all.”
“Are you sure you’re the First Order of the Science Council? Because that sounds an awful lot like preaching I’ve heard from the Religious Guild. You’re in the wrong profession.”
Kara rolls her eyes. “If anything, I should have joined the Artisans. But it’s too late for that.”
Lena’s quiet for a moment. They’re walking along streets she’s never seen before and doesn’t care. It doesn’t matter.
“I think I’m learning...” she says softly, “that it’s never too late. If you want something enough, it’s never too late.”
“I hope you’re right.”
Lena looks around. “Do you know where you’re going?”
“No, I thought you did.”
“No. I guess we’re lost then.”
Kara shrugs with a charming, sunny smile that lights her whole face. It’s the one that Lena hasn’t seen in over 40 years and it takes her breath away.
“Oh well.” Kara squeezes Lena’s hand happily. “I suppose we’ll find our way together.”

to be honest, I think he would find out before you did.
he is extremely observant so he would notice the symptoms right away
He would notice how you got fatigued easily, how you seemed to get nauseated
first, he would ask you if you were late
then, if you said yes, he would tell you straight up.
“S/o, you’re pregnant.” “I- I’m what!?” 
he would definitely get worried for you and his baby, 
a child born into a killing game is not ideal after all.

yes, he believes in everyone but he can never be too careful.

he’s giddy everytime he sees you with your baby bump, not being able to resist hugging you every time he sees you.

He stored his leftover tea in his cheeks as he gave you a wave, putting his bottle down. “Rantaro, i’m pregnant.” His eyes widened as the tea came spewing out, luckily he turned his head away so you were out of the splash-zone. He dropped his bottle before standing up and immediately hugging you. “I love you so much, we can do this. I love you.” He repeated as he moved his hand up your head, tangling his fingers in your locks.

You watched with droopy eyes as Rantaro gently shushed the baby by bouncing them in his arms. Rantaro made his way back to bed and slipped in beside you, the now quiet baby still in his arms. “Mmm Rantaro no, we’re gonna crush the baby.”
You softly groaned in protest. Rantaro pouted at you, silently pleading with you with his puppy-dog eyes. You let out a huff of defeat before nodding, eyes half-closed. The last thing you saw before dozing off was Rantaro smiling goofily at the baby. You slowly fell asleep, Imprinting a gentle smile on your face as you slept.

If there is one thing that all college students could agree on, it’s that finals seasons are the absolute worst thing to ever go through in college. You’re constantly spending every night at the library with your eyes glued onto your textbooks, your brain rushing to keep up in retaining all the pertinent information needed for your exams. You’re devoting hours onto your laptop with your fingers typing away on your keyboard, internet tabs and pages cluttering your screen as you rush to reach the minimum page count required for your courses.
So many times you have declined all your friends’ requests for study dates or a simple get-together because you just don’t have the luxury to. As much as you’d love to take a break from your studies, you feel like you’re running out of time. It has gotten to the point where your boyfriend has to remind you every now and then to take breaks as he gets concerned for your well-being. And just when you thought you were done with one exam or assignment, you look back on your planner only to find out that there’s more to complete. It’s like your pile just doesn’t seem to lessen with each passing day, your mentality on the brink of collapse.
Just where is the end to all of this?
You are currently perched over your desk, packets of case studies splayed out on top of your corrections textbook. Your laptop screen shines bright at the corner, documents filled with infinitesimal texts and numbers. To your right lies your essential oil diffuser, planted right on your nightstand with fumes of aroma wafting through the air. You took your best friend’s suggestion in purchasing an aromatherapy diffuser to help relieve some stress you’ve accumulated from your studies. Lavender should help out, she said. But to your dismay, you don’t feel a single ounce of it lifting from your shoulders. Forcing your brain to believe its effective properties only puts your head more into a strain.
That’s when you felt a sharp pain rip through your skull. ‘Great,’ you groaned to yourself, ‘another fucking headache.’ You dropped your pen on your notebook and rubbed your fatigued eyes, the pressure from your fingertips massaging away. “God, I can’t wait for this semester to be over with already.”
Crossing your arms, you found your phone lying in the middle of your bed. You forgot that you left it on ‘do not disturb’, finally realizing why you didn’t hear your phone ring in the past few hours. You grabbed your phone off your bed. 2:58 am, it reads. Unlocking your phone, you skimmed through your notifications, your fingers swiftly responding to certain messages cluttered up in your phone until you reached to this one particular conversation:

You could feel a smile blooming on your lips. It has been a while since you’ve seen Doyoung, let alone hear his voice. Is it too late to call him? ‘He might be sleeping,’ you thought to yourself. ‘Should I?’ Biting your lip, you mustered up the courage and decided to call him. Placing your phone against your ear, you awaited his call. The sound reverberates through your eardrums, the anticipation of having your call picked up diminishing with each passing ring. And just when you were about to give up, the tune stops short on its last ring.
“Hello?” a deep voice croaks.
You softly smile at the sound of his voice. “Hey,” you whispered. “Did I… wake you up?”
“No, no.” You hear him shuffling on his end, to what you could assume to be from his movements in his bed sheets. “Not at all, baby.” You couldn’t help but let out a giggle, touched over the fact he’s easing your guilt of awakening him from his much-needed slumber. “What’s wrong? You need something?”
You shrugged your shoulders, a habit you’ve developed when talking on the phone with someone. “No, not really.” You run your fingers through your hair before rubbing the nape of your neck. “I just missed you, that’s all.”
He lets out a tired chuckle. “I missed you, too.”
You hum a little, “How are your finals?”
He scoffs. “Shit.”
“Not surprised,” you giggled. “You only have one more left, right?”
“Yeah. Chem 4. After that, I’m ready to sleep for a whole week straight.”
“Can I join you in your sleeping session?”
“You most certainly can.”
You both shared a laugh, your mind finally distracted from the strenuous documents that resided on top of your desk. “I call dibs on being the small spoon.”
He chortles. “You’re funny.”
“Hey! It’s only fair.”
“That’s what you said when you ate my share of fries the other week.”
His voice was much livelier than before, fully awakened from his rest now. You missed the jolly feeling you’d get when you talked to him. All those days and nights spent by his side where nothing else mattered in the world except for your boyfriend, whispering loving affirmations to you just like always. You really did miss him, and you can’t wait for this semester to be over to spend quality time with him again.
“Hey, y/n?” he called out.
“Hm?”
“You know that all I ever ask of you is to be honest with me?”
Your smile drops. You know where this is going, and frankly, you’re not sure if you’re ready to have this conversation again. Time after time, he would start a conversation with that question followed by his ongoing concerns wrapped in his mind. Sometimes he would ask for your second opinion, but most of the time they were diverted to you, his forever lover. And you knew this time, this is going to be about you.
Your free hand fiddled with the ends of your finger as you chew on your lip again, your eyes peering down to your lap.
“... yes,” you murmured.
You could hear your heart beating through your ears, the silence deafening the space that encompassed you around. Neither one of you uttered a sound to the other, too afraid to whisper through the thick tension planted in the air. Outside your dorm, there are muffled footsteps fading in and out by your door, most likely from your dorm neighbors coming back from another one of their library sessions. He lets out a soft sigh on his end, not one filled with annoyance, but filled with worry, his attention all focused onto you.
“... are you okay?”
And just like that, you felt the dam inside you crumble to ashes. The mask that you’ve held from the past few weeks is finally dissolving, the facade released from its shackles. Weeks of putting up a front, telling yourself that everything is okay, is now coming to end. ‘I’m fine,’ you would say to yourself. ‘This is nothing, I can handle this myself.’
Oh but darling, there’s only so much you could take in. Not everyone is perfect, and not everyone is indestructible. May we all be human, for we laugh, cry, smile, frown, scream, shout, cheer.
Tears burned through your eyelids, blurring your line of vision as you tried to hold yourself together. You shakily let out a sigh. “.... no,” your voice cracks. Another deep sigh, and you felt a tear drip down your cheek. “I’m… I’m tired, Doyoung.” More tears cascade down your cheeks, bringing your sleeves up to wipe them away with each drop. “I’m exhausted, Doyoung. I’m tired.. of all of this. I’m—”
With the phone still pressed against your ear, you sobbed into the night, finally pouring all your boxed-in emotions out to your lover. You cried out your frustrations, your anger, your desolace. Long have your soul been used to routine that you forgot what warmth felt like. To be cared for, watched for, and loved for.
Your sleeves soaked up all your tears, your eyelids certainly swollen from the sudden rush. You take even breaths, calming yourself down from your breakdown. Throughout your cries, never once did Doyoung strayed away from you, ears firmly pressed against his ear. He took in all, every last drop to mitigate the cold shell you’ve developed over time. He said nothing, only offering his presence as a sort of comfort to you for the time being. Once silence took over, all your tears spent, that’s when he spoke up.
“You did well, y/n.”
You breathing hitches for a moment, heart skipping a beat from his words.
“I’m so, so proud of you, y/n. You made it this far into the semester and for that, I’m proud of you.”
And alas, your smile returns. Minuscule it may be, but it’s more than what you could ask for. The feeling of having your shoulders lifted from your burdens made you feel like you could fly again, soar up in the clouds. Your best friend certainly knows how to cheer you up the most.
“Sorry about all of that,” you chuckled.
“Don’t be sorry.”
You shook your head. “No, I am. You literally just heard me have a breakdown and cry with snots all over the place—”
“I don’t give a damn about all of that, y/n.” There’s a slight shuffle on his end. “I love you for you, and that’s never going to change. I will love you at your lowest, and I will love you at your highest. Even when you feel like there’s no hope left in this world, I will bring you back to earth and hold you and remind you that you are hope.”
Just when you thought you had no more tears left in your system, you could feel the waterworks starting again. You bite down on your lower lip, desperately holding it in as love overcomes you.
“You did well, y/n. Only two more finals to go and you’re finally free.”
You wipe away the stray tear that befallen on your cheek. “Thank you, Doyoung. Really.”
“Now go out there and kick some ass for me, alright? Show those professors who’s the boss around here.”
You giggled. With your two fingers on your temple, you did an informal salute. “Yes, sir.”
“That’s my girl.”
Let this be a reminder to you, to all, that there will always be one person that will love you at your lowest, and will always be there to help pick you back up.

"shota?" you called from the kitchen, trying to gather all of the snacks you had organized onto the counter in your arms. there were too many bags, so many that it would definitely be impossible for you to carry them all in one go-- and that was obvious, since every attempt to gather everything was futile. you groaned as the items tumbled out of your grasp for the umpteenth time, "shota, hun can you help?"
"hm? what's wrong?" you heard a monotonous grunt from the living room.
"i can't carry everything myself, and i really don't feel like taking multiple trips," there was no response. you sighed, "pleeeaaase??"
"i'm busy. my hands are full too."
"ugh, he's sitting on the couch, what could he possibly be busy with?" you mutter to yourself through your teeth.
finally, you decide to simply create a makeshift bag out of your shirt, flipping it up inside-out. you quickly place all of your snacks, and speed to where your lazy boyfriend sat in the other room to stop anything from falling.
you aimlessly let everything tumble out of your grasp, the sounds of plastic hitting your wooden coffee table in front of the couch.
"see? you didn't need my help," you could hear the smug smile on his face even if you weren't looking.
"well, you know how much easier it would've been if y-" you begin to whine, but as you look up to face aizawa completely, you realize why he refused to get up. two little cats were curled up on his blanket-covered lap, their bellies rising and falling gently. you tentatively made your way to sit beside him, carefully plopping onto the cushion.
"so you really were busy then, huh?"

A/N: I know this wasn't what I put on the masterlist, frankly it wasn't planned. I wrote it through McGonogalls eyes because I feel like she was really a mother figure to Sirius, as she is to all students she takes a liking towards. And all I could imagine is how she would feel watching as he fell in love.
Also, some people may not know and it will help you understand the last line but 'Sirius' is a name for a star more commonly known as the dog star.

Quiet, with soft smiles, and even softer words. Invisible at times- no not invisible just... faded. Faded into a background of seemingly much louder personalities, that's what Minerva McGonagall saw when she looked at the girl.
Loud, with bold grins, and even bolder shouts. Front and center, bold and bright, not afraid for others to see him, that's what Minerva McGonagall saw when she looked at the boy.
Trapped, rule abiding, alive yet barely living, just going through and living the times that life had forced upon, that was how she lived.
Free, unaffected by rules, not afraid to live life, living every second of the day instead of just hand picked moments, that was how he lived.
Nothing in common, two different worlds, and yet it was there. The flicker of eyes across a classroom that stopped, for seemingly just a second when a bell like laughter filled the air. The briefest pause in the hurried steps down the corridor when loud cheers were heard.
You two had never spoken, it was the first year and she knew. Minerva McGonagall had never been wrong before. “Mark my words Albus those two,” a swift flick of her eyes to each of the seemingly polar opposite students before continuing “those two will be each other's sun and moon.”
“Come now Minerva, for once I think you may be wrong,” his words seemed doubtful but the glint in his eye was one of recognition.
Bold, visible, bright, brave, there never could be a peaceful day with him around, him and his infectiously loud personality and bold actions, every moment was filled with electricity around him. That's how she felt about the now young man she had taught for four years.
Timid, hidden, shy, conformative, every day was peaceful when she was around, her and her calming aura with her old books and warm tea, and yet no minute was perhaps dull when she was there. That’s how she felt about the young woman she had taught for four years.
Nothing in common, seemingly two different worlds and yet it was still there. The swift pause of the flicker of an eye that turned into a curious gaze. A gaze caught on the anomaly that was how one person could be so confirmative to everyone, so faded and yet he saw her everywhere. The once brief pause in stride now turning into a lingering stance, accompanied by the much slower pace down a corridor, how did he always catch her eye, was it because he was so bold? Or perhaps it was because she knew he wasn't always like that.
“Want to take back what you said or are we raising our bet twenty sickles again?” Albus whispered.
“I will win this Albus, I’m telling you I’m never wrong.”
“And yet, they still have yet to speak.” He spoke his tone being his usual amount of dreamy. But she knew that not to be true because she had seen it. She had seen in their second year at Hogwarts the moment they had shared for the briefest of moments compared to every other.
It was the first time she was called a ‘mudbloood’, spoken by a greasy black haired Slytherin boy. Minerva wanted to check on the girl, make sure she was alright but when she had found her in the corridor, knees drawn to her chest as she sat atop a bench beneath the stained glass window, that now reflected the emotions of the girl she had stop dead in her much smaller than usual tracks.
To her shock she was not alone, she hadn't even noticed the young boy beside the girl as she first approached, he faded just like she had. The girl's emotions now shine brighter than his own. He was soft and small, timid and hidden, just as she had needed him to be. Minerva didn't mean to linger, she wanted to give them their privacy and yet she had. Maybe it was the concern for the girl or the shock of the unusual softness of the boy.
“He doesn't know what he’s talking about y/l/n,” he had whispered.
“But… I am. I’m not a pureblood let alone a half blood. How do I deserve to be a witch? Perhaps… perhaps I do have dirty blood,” the whisper had made Minerva's heart ache for the girl.
“No you don’t,” there was no question in the boy's words, no doubts in his mind. But the girl didn't look at him, she didn't move. Her gaze still on the window where it remained until he forced it his way with his hand on her shoulder. “I’m serious y/n, there is nothing dirty about you.” And in that moment both the females in the corridor knew he was in fact being serious. He didn’t grin or chuckle at the somewhat ironic phrase he had used like he would have normally.
And then there it was, that soft smile and the softer words Minerva was used to, the quiet whisper of “thank you.”
And then there it was, that bold grin that was so commonly seen from the boy, met with an uncommonly soft response of “of course.”
He was everything she wasn't but he was everything she wanted to be, but in the same regard she was everything he wished to be more of. He wasn’t afraid to think of what was next like she was, but she wasn't afraid to stop in the present and bask in the calm like him.
Minerva could see it, ever since one project in fifth year, one seemingly random event she hadn't even planned. The two had been paired by a random draw of names from a goblet, she watched as the young man grinned widely at the name on the paper, his eyes instantly finding the girl.
“I assume you know Mrs. Y/l/n.” Minerva feigned ignorance, she pretended she had not known of their soft shared moment all those years ago, that she had not noticed the looks passed from one to the other that the other person always had seemed to miss.
“Yes minnie dear I would dare say I do.” The grin on his face and the glint in his eyes brought a warmth to the girl's cheeks as she watched him approach. Minerva watched on with a warmth building in her own chest.
Brighter-not blinding but brighter, with shining smiles and brighter words. The girl who once allowed herself to fade was now shining, sometimes allowing herself to be seen. After six years that’s how Minerva saw her.
Confident- no longer the loud sort of confident but confident, with delighted grins and occasionally soft spoken words. The boy who once always had to be doing something now could enjoy the moment he lived in. After six years that’s how Minerva saw him.
No longer just lingering gazes and short passes in the hall. No longer silent curiosity’s and soft blushes. No longer secret moments and private thoughts of admiration.
Now playful banter and times spent together, studying under trees and running through corridors. Bright smiles with no chance of being able to fade as long as the other was near.
Minerva watched as the girl who was once so shy grew confident in herself, grew to be a proud young woman as opposed to the timid girl who wanted to disappear.
She watched as the boy who was loud and the center of attention grew to appreciate the sidelines which he wasn’t allowed at home. He grew to be a self assured young man as opposed to the insecure boy who just wanted to be seen for something good.
“How did you-“ but Minerva cut Albus off.
“I told you I always know.” But there was no exchange in what now had turns from knuts to galleons because it had not yet officially happened.
Happy, freed, living life, and present. That’s what Minerva saw when she looked at the woman before her. No longer did she fade into a dull background of those around her.

She became the calm warmth to the ever present storm brewing inside him. He turned from being a crippling and dangerous electricity to a pleasant buzz of life inside of her.
The moon had found her place to shine, basking in the light from the sun. Soaking it in and allowing it to free her from the prisons the night sky had placed her in.
The sun had found his place to shine, for once he had been seen. He no longer had to outshine the rest in fear of being overlooked.
Y/n Y/l/n had graduated as a woman. She wasn't the same girl she was when she entered and that was because of him. He had shown her how to look forward to the future and enjoy every second she was given. He was her freedom.
Sirius Black had graduated as a man. He wasn’t the same boy he was when he entered and that was because of her. She had shown him how to enjoy the present and how he didnt have to constantly think of what was next. She was his freedom.
Minerva had smiled triumphantly on the first day of that year she remembered when she finally had proof she won. When the two walked in hand and hand and parted with a swift kiss, and despite losing Albus couldn’t find it in himself to be angry. Because he was delighted to watch the young love unfold.
You had become his moon, and he had become your sun. Because after all the sun was just a star.

Part 5
Two months have passed already. Between languages and literature, you have had a lot on your plate. It was surprising just how quickly work loads built up on you from your classes.
But the thing that stood out the most was that your silly little crush, well, it hadn't gone away. In fact, it had grown into something more than a little crush.
Professor Niki Lauda was on your mind constantly.
He really wasn't helping either. You had begin to wonder if Katie had been right about him. Lauda would smile at you as you entered his class. He would praise your work whenever he set an assignment. He would help you with pronunciation.
You never saw him praise anyone else like he did you, and you wondered how much he helped everyone else.
Were you really his top student?
It certainly seemed like it.
You hadn't told Michael and Katie about his attention toward you. They would only tease you on the matter.
You couldn't help that you liked him.
Professor Lauda was your favourite professor, but it wasn't just because of his lessons.
The weekend was approaching. You had a test to do for Lauda before you had the weekend to yourself. You were planning to go into town and see what's happening over there, enjoy yourself a little.
You entered the classroom and sat down in your usual spot. Lauda smiled at you briefly as you sat down. You smiled back.
As usual with your classes with him, you sit and you listen. You listen intensely. You take notes. Professor Lauda hands out some paperwork that may help.
"Study over the weekend, you will have a test next week when you come back," he informs you all.
You sighed softly. Maybe you could still go out this weekend and study later. You would definitely study hard. Professor Barnes hasn't assigned anything for over the weekend, so you would only have to focus on this class.
"Class dismissed."
Students got up and made their way out. You hung back to make a few final notes while Professor Lauda organised his desk. He had noticed you hadn't left just yet, but didn't say anything.
It was only when you rose from your seat and grabbed your bad when he spoke up.
"Good work today."
You stop and look up at him.
"Thank you. I've been studying all the work you gave us."
He nods.
"You should be proud of your progress these past couple of months."
"I am. I have a good teacher." A sexy one too.
He gives a little chuckle.
"Danke. Off you go, enjoy your weekend."
"You too, sir."
He watches you go. He did this sometimes, talk to you after class. Mostly it was just praising you for your work. He just wanted a few extra moments with you.
He would then scold himself for allowing it to happen.
If you had any idea how he was feeling, you would drop off this course so fast. Heck, he would probably lose his job too.
He sighs and grabs his things.
He would settle for being your Professor until you graduated.
You meet up with Michael and Katie. They wave as you approach them, smiling happily.
"Plans for the weekend?" Michael asks.
"I am hoping I can go into town before I sit and study for my test next week," you say, walking in perfect sync with each other.
"Good! There's a car rally in town, want to go see it?"
"A car rally?"
"Yeah. Basically a small race through town, plus we can look at some old classic cars that people bring to show off," Katie explains, going through her playlist on her phone.
"Sounds good to me."
"Great, I'll come get you in the morning, we can head out early and see the race," Michael smiles.
You agree and split ways with them as you leave the university.
You decide to get some studying in before bed, but not an all nighter. You wanted to be awake for the rally tomorrow.
You wake early. You get dressed and meet Michael outside. Katie is waiting in the car.
He parks as close to the event as he can and you all climb out. Michael knows his way around easily, so he knows exactly where to take you for the best view. Up on a hilltop near the closed road where you would get to see the cars drive by and around the corner.
You all sit down.
"This looks amazing," you say.
"Can't believe you have lived here all this time and never come to this," Michael shakes his head at you.
"I suppose it never interested me before."
"Yeah, before Professor Lauda," Katie chimes in.
You glare at her, but it didn't have much impact on her. She just chuckled.
"Oh yeah, he likes racing. He's probably here," Michael hums softly.
"He is," Katie says.
You look at her with a surprised look upon your face. She grins as she nods further down the hill. You turn and spot a familiar head of curls in view.
"Oh look, you're right," Michael chuckles.
You nibble at your bottom lip.
Of course he would be here. He likes cars. He likes racing. This is probably the best he could do right now. You assumed he would prefer the big races like Formula 1.
You can't seem to look away from him.
Katie and Michael share a look. They know you all too well.
An announcement too distant to hear clearly from where you where declares the start if the race.
You suddenly have lost interest in the event. Your Professor is here and he looks really good...
As he turns his head to look up the road, you get a glimpse of his side profile.
Oh, to run your fingers through his hair, to kiss those lips, to be close to him.
Katie gives you a nudge.
"Stop ogling your Professor. The cars are coming our way!"
You look up and see the vehicles whiz around the corner. For a rally it was quite good. A dozen cars flew by, zooming around the corner. This was just the first lot.
Your eyes, however, trial back your Professor, only you find those dark eyes of his gazing back.
He's caught you.
You stare. It's all you can do.
You can just about make out his lips twitching into a smile, but he turns back around before you can actually see it properly.
Katie smiles at you.
"If you wanted to ditch us and go say hello, you can," she tells you.
"No, I'm good."
She doesn't believe you, but she doesn't push the matter any more either.
You tear your gaze away from him, no matter how much you just wanted to admire him. You came for the race, so you'll watch it.
Niki, however, was grinning to himself as his eyes watched the track.
You looked good sitting up on the hill behind him. Much more natural and relaxed as opposed to when in class.
He was surprised to see you here. There was a joy blooming in knowing you may share an interest with him.
He needed to stop thinking about you, but his could he?
Maybe, just maybe, he could get a chance to talk to you. Outside of the classroom. Somewhere no one knows his is your Professor.
He just wants to talk to you. So he believed.
