“What’s, uh,” the villain starts slowly, “what’s in your sandwich?”

The hero spares them no more than a passing glance. “Aw, you hungry? They don’t feed you guys in your little evil hideout?”

“I feed myself just fine.” The villain eyes the sandwich in the other’s hand nervously, their wrists rolling against their handcuffs. “What’s in it?”

“Peanut butter and jelly, if you must know.”

The villain’s eyes widen ever-so-slightly, their chair grating as it slides back as far as it’ll go. The desk jolts with the force with which they pull back.

“What?” the hero asks bluntly.

“I’m allergic.”

The hero’s gaze turns down to their, frankly delicious, sandwich. “To PBJs?”

“To peanuts, you moron!”

“Oh.” Another bite. “Huh.” A thoughtful chew, staring off into the distance. “How bad?”

“If I so much as look at a peanut, I will keel over.”

There’s a moment of silence, in which the villain seems to deflate slightly. “That’s probably dangerous information to give you,” they add quietly.

“Probably.” The hero hasn’t moved, despite their desk and their caught criminal being halfway to escaping them. “Will something happen if I touch you with my peanut hands?”

“Do not,” the villain snaps lowly, “even think about it.”

The hero smirks. “Why not?”

“I’ll tear your goddamn arms off.”

“If you can do that whilst cuffed, I’ll be impressed.”

The villain glares. The hero shrugs and shoves the last bit in their mouth. “I’m not trying to be mean, anyway,” they continue past their hunk of bread. “I’m asking so I can not kill you.”

“Debatable.”

The hero gets to their feet and the villain reels back like they’re about to explode. “I’ll wash my hands first, okay?” the hero offers.

The hero is, by definition, a decent human being. They return two minutes later with clean, wet hands, to a desk moved half an inch to the right and no villain. 

“Ah, shit,” is all the hero can be bothered to say. They never liked big chases on a full stomach.

I relisened to episode 33 while drawing this and god is Hermie suiciadal i did not remember that (i got all the jokes this time tho so yay me!) And i DID NOT remember Link saying he had dreams about killing his dad for like a whole summer?!?! Like excuse me, what a super wierd thing to say out of nowhere (yes that is a refrence)??? Anyway this was kinda nightmare (i only discovered after doing the lineart for it that i had stabilizer off) and i didnt really wanna color it cause scam is always a mess in that regard to me (i dislike choosing pallets okay?) but i finally got thru it, hope you guys like it.

Appreciation post for 'girly girl' characters and/or shows that celebrate traditionally feminine things that girls and women are shamed for.

Characters on this list that love makeup, fashion, hair, etc. Characters that are still written as strong, intelligent, brave, etc. That told young girls that these interests are valid, they are not lesser interests. Being feminine and liking traditionally feminine things does not make them weak.

Not to be dramatic. But why does body dysmorphia feel ten times worse in public lol. Saw myself in a mirror at a store and almost gagged. Saw like three beautiful put together women who just seem to have thin bodies with ease (even though I know that's not how it works) and I'm so jealous. I feel like even though it obviously takes work to lose weight nothing beats the terrible feeling of being unkempt just because you're overweight.

I'm getting overwhelmed again with wanting to rewrite the entirety of Lupin III - Goodbye Partner as a fic my own way, because I am still salty about how Jigen's betrayal was handled and I am pretty sure I could do a better job than TMS did (hell, they handled that same premise better in Seven Days Rhapsody, and it was a B plot!!)

Except I can't do that because 1) I have to finish writing Hanafuda and 2) I have like. zero plot for it right now (but I know if I put my mind to it I could)

In the meantime please have this song that makes me think about what that movie could have been, while I daydream about magic tricks and lighters and proceed to chew at my walls 👍

Okay, I’m just going to say it frankly, but in lesson 11 of Nightbringer, I just wanted to slap Belphegor so badly.

I want MC to be able to ask him bluntly, “Do you think blaming me is going to solve anything? That it will bring Lilith back? Or, are you just jaded about the fact that she chose to save a human life, over loyalty to you, and the rest of the Celestial Realm? Because I am not your scapegoat! Humans aren’t your scapegoat!”

Bluntly speaking, we've never exactly been Belphie stans, just personally, and season 1 was part of the reason for that -- even if he did ultimately turn it around and come to accept MC once he learned the truth of everything. We never liked how it was basically brushed under the rug and moved on from so quickly, and we have always wished that there had been a more proper resolution to him, y'know, violently killing us, than we actually ever got.

Unfortunately, this is a return to basically exactly how he was about humans in that very first season of original OM, because of course he would feel that way. Especially with the trauma of war and ensuing loss of his sister so fresh, and therefore also his guilt, which is the true cause of his emotions underlying the hatred of humans (it wasn't about loyalty to humans vs angels), there was simply no way to reveal MC actually being human without confronting this from him again. But unsurprisingly, it's an unpleasant reminder of the events of the very upsetting Lesson 16 in the original.

So, we would have loved for MC to be able to, either figuratively or literally, grab Belphie by the shoulders and just shake him and yell at him this time. But sadly, that's still not what we got here -- and understandably so. The situation didn't really allow for it, what with Beel's rampage and the confusion of the brothers having their power drawn, and considering this Belphegor doesn't know MC like that, whatever MC said would probably have zero effect (or, make him even angrier as he continues to push his own guilt and grief down in denial).

But on a maybe(?) brighter note, perhaps revisiting it and having him get angry and violent at MC again actually will give the opportunity for the devs to resolve it better this time, whenever this current conflict reaches its end -- though, considering this last cliffhanger, it may well escalate to much bigger problems before we get to that. But an actual apology would be nice, whenever we resolve it, and a proper conversation between MC and Belphie talking out his hatred and guilt would be even better. So, here's hoping that they don't forget about it in this mess, which they might, considering past OM writing, and that's all we can do for now.

Seriously, please, because we'd really like to be able to like him more than we did the first time.

Sure, I'll add a few. (Redacted since my google account is my full name.) Also remember that y'all also got the benefit of my author's notes, but I'm not giving my mom the AO3 copy because over my dead body does she look at that account. I'm giving her a document copy. So a lot of the comments will likely be details you guys already got in either a post or author's note.

^^^ This one is written specifically because my mom, like me, has been going to Big Bend National Park since she was young. A member of my family has gone there nearly every single year since....1965? lol. So it's a fun tidbit for her to know I was thinking of it while writing this. That is also why she gets to read it, because the moment I opened my mouth about writing it I basically had to. I don't always talk about my writing with her but I really wanted to talk about this one. So! By talking about it I just made the decision for myself that I'd allow her to read it. She is....very excited haha. And I am too? I mean I think I am going to send it to her and then just immediately go back to my apartment so I don't have to be in the same house as her while she's reading it LOL. The embarassment of people who know you too closely reading your things etc etc. But I'm very proud of this story and I don't think she realizes how good of a writer I can be. She knows I'm good at it (like, she's read my essays and newspaper stories) but not how I handle fiction.

Watching Don and Betty parent (together or separately) on Mad Men is so so sad (because I don’t think either of them ever wants to be mean to their kids! I think they both genuinely want to be better than their horrifying parents! The bar is just very very low!) but also kind of funny. It’s like if somebody gave some kids to the most neurotic of the popular junior girls at a private high school and a confident teenage drifter. How do they have a house??? They should be in a road movie about two college freshmen who couldn’t be more different but their boyfriend and girlfriend go to the same college so they carpool and hijinks ensue.

Iri drops the man back onto the ground, and Beatriz stares at the spike dissolving into the soil with a hiss, turning it black and gooey. There’s a layer of dust hovering above the ground, kicked up from all of the commotion, and she barely has the presence of mind to guide in a gentle breeze, clearing the area so they won’t launch into a coughing fit mid-battle. Any moment now, the Noxx will be coming, but all she can do is stare at the man. The man who had just used the same kind of magic Noxx possess.

She plunks the sole chunk of lirstone they have left in the center. The light throws stretching, malformed shadows onto the surrounding walls, paints everyone’s faces in pale, washed-out grey that almost makes them look ghostly. The tunnel stretches before them, winding and dark and no different from every other tunnel they’d passed through. They’d been sticking to the larger ones, the ones that sloped upwards, in the hopes of finding another exit, but she can barely notice any change. She hopes it’s just because of how subtle the transition had been; not because they’ve been going in circles.
