Wait genuine question… I know I want to get a Windows laptop soon to animate better and I know I tend to use Krita or Ibis Paint for my animations now but. Is Clip Studio Paint good for animation too

Does anybody have any animation programs/software that are cheap (preferably one-time payment), simple (Im used to flip-a-clip type stuff, but Im willing to be flexible), for PC, have audio capabilities, and won't crash my computer?
I wanna learn to animate again, but I hate animating on my phone and most programs I have found cost an arm and a leg- or they dont have the features I need (aka audio)
I will take any recommendations at this point, google is failing me so much

Ok, animators of Tumblr, help a beginner animator out. I'm looking for an animation software that can help me learn how to animate. I wanna do 2d animation and have very little experience (I've made 1 gif before...)
Idk really what to look for other than something easier to learn and I can put some kind of audio in it and I'd like layers for drawing
I don't really care about the price, but I would like to know it beforehand :3c

I'm really trying to get some more practice on animating this year. I really want to actually learn to make animatics, but it just seems like all the animation options there are just ... bad. I've been using Ibis for almost a year now, so I know about their animation section of the app, but I can't add videos and a bigger and higher resoloution canvas is blocked behind a paywall. I am familiar with Flipaclip since it was my first animation program to try, and even though it's renowned as one of the bset begginner animation apps, it seems it has lost its value over the years. Only 3 layers, limited brushes, miminal onion skinning, and despite it saying I could add videos for free with an ad, they never went through. I'm putting a whole rant here because I just want to know if anyone has any tips or alternatives?? I'm not an apple user so I can't use procreate or dreams, and I don't have a higher scale PC of my own. Just a simple higher scale samsung tablet. I'm not looking to create any full length shows, I just want a method to create and expand my art without doing a series of digital gymnastics just to create a 10 second long clip. (Maybe also some tips to create an animation on one program and add effects and audio with another)
Thanks for reading my beginner animator rant lol

"yeah you can draw and animate on here but it looks crappy and weird"
"yeah you can draw and animate on here but its crappy and I'm not gonna teach you how it works anyway and you're gonna be confused and just delete it"
"u can only use this on your phone not your laptop or drawing tablet stupid"
or
"PFFFFT YOU THINK YOU CAN DRAW AND ANIMATE FOR FREE?? your livin in a dream world there's no such thing as free joy"

What are some good free animation softwares? Krita’s calibration is messed up for me and blender grease pencil is kinda confusing even with a tutorial.

Never thought I'd get weepy over a software presentation keynote and yet, here we are
So for those of you who don't know, I use ProCreate. It's the only art program I've touched in at least five years, and aside from brief stints in my sketchbook, I've done everything in it. The animations I've done last year and this year were all done in ProCreate, which is strictly a drawing and photo editing software and animation was kind of built in as an afterthought. As such, the animation capabilities of ProCreate are kind of... nonexistent. Clunky at best, and I had no way to add sound. And because of how ProCreate's animation worked, I couldn't do long or particularly complex animation. Which is fine, like, I'm still learning how to animate in the first place. But we really are limited by the capabilities of our tools, and as much as I love ProCreate for static art, it left a ton to be desired in the animation department.
But the team that made ProCreate just announced they've made animation software. Not "are making," have made. And it's robust. It covers everything a full animation studio would do with multiple different softwares, all in one app. I can't even begin to say how excited I am for this. And it's only $20, where equally powerful—or hell, even less powerful—desktop animation software would easily cost $500 or more.
I'm so excited! I'll finally be able to follow along in a ton of the animation lessons I own! I couldn't do that before, because of ProCreate's limitations. Mostly the lack of animation timeline and I couldn't add sound—you know, the two most vital aspects of animation. But now I'll be able to! I just have to be patient until the end of November and fork over $20. And then? Then I'll be unstoppable.
I'm gonna conquer the fucking world, y'all.

Hey, quick question for the smaller scale animators out there. What is you go-to platform? Not like, toonboom and similar very expensive professional grade stuff. Just smaller animation things like flipaclip. I myself Use a mix of Procreate's animation function, which is exclusively for test animations, and Toonsquid. I just wanna see what's out there. (preferably 2d) I've tried using a few things, roughanimator was a bit too rough in terms of quality, and I have very strong opinions on procreate dream. I settled on toonsquid, but I haven't tried others.
