Something I once talked about in my priv twitter but it’s priv so imma public it here lol, but it’s just a headcanon of mine that surprisingly I never saw anyone talking about? (Understandable tho seeing how many skip this filler episode). Well guess what tournament in the far, far past that involved an Earth Eagle’s owner with that exact built.

Beyblading in the verse is a popular sport similar to how we host pokemon or yugioh tournament irl. So it’s nice to think that WBBA will produce some limit special color variations of the winner’s bey combo, like how GameFreak would distribute the ace monster of a world tournament's champion via online mystery gift. Henceforth JP battle DJ’s bey is the above model, when we know that he was the one overseeing the tournament that Tsubasa won. The two was probably some good casual friends and college, seeing how he probably knew Tsubasa but played him off as “a mysterious new blader in town” during metal Fusion to cover his secret agent’s ass.

That would be enough. From this point forward, it’s gonna be a wild ride from my random useless info so bear with me if u wanna keep reading.

The fact that in the flashback, Tsubasa was shown to be a pretty well known blader to the point that he had both fanclub and hateclub tells how much a big deal both him and that tournament were. Somethign something, a very important and big tournament that happens every five years at least. And why do i have that number? Tsubasa’s fostered eagle. A bald eagle doesn’t sprout out black feather to have that white head as they grow, but they grow up into black feathers for *at least* 5 years until they can finally develop that beautiful white head.

The writers and animators for mfb are known to pay attention to little details in storytelling, so it’s not a reach to reach to a conclusion that the tournaments back then held every five years.

In conclusion: Tsubasa spent at least five years being a righteously sour loser. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Kaku propaganda:

He's a black ops government assassin who can transform into a giraffe or a human-giraffe hybrid that is really angular for some reason. He fights using two swords and wind blades shot from his feet, but giraffes have four feet, so he can shoot wind blades from all four limbs. He can also become a cube. And suck in his neck to fire his head forward like a cannon, his nose like a square-shaped cannonball. Or suck in his neck to make his legs longer, like a pasta machine.

Boy can turn into both a straight-up giraffe and a swordfighting giraffe-man hybrid. He's also got pretty giraffe eyelashes even in his human form.

Kaku turns into a giraffe-human by being ordered to eat a devil fruit by his boss, and the first thing this man does is hop on the giraffe propaganda train, no hesitation. His collegues are wolfs and leopards. Does Kaku mope about being a giraffe? No! He literally holds a whole speech explaining why giraffes are both dope, cool and the most lethal animal on the savanna. Then proceeds to unleash the limitless destructive power of the giraffe. Kaku is the no. 1 giraffe character, hands down, no competition, I will die on this hill, give me 1000 dollars.

Kirin/ The Giraffe Propaganda:

Voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda, he oversees the lesbian drama student tournament arc that makes up the plot of the anime.

2023 Fall Anime

This is honestly a loaded season full of new shows based on relatively new manga. Lots to look forward to

Spy x Family - Season 2 One of the most fun SJ series that have come out in a while. Season 1 was killer, high hopes for season 2.

Goblin Slayer 2 I didn't realize they were even making a second season. This was such a killer series. I'm really hoping they don't fall into the many mid-tier fantasy tropes out there in anime right now. I thought the appeal of the show was really Goblin Slayer himself and less about the lackeys along the way. So we'll see how it goes.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End This is definitely one of my highly anticipated series. It's about an elf who was part of the Hero's party and her life after he dies. (Since elves live longer) Definitely a darker take on fantasy but has some really solid fantasy and adventure vibes.

Rising of the Shield Hero - Season 3 Season 2 was pretty disappointing and slow. While this looks like it'll be more fast paced, it does look like a tournament arc of sorts. I know some aren't a fan of that kind of arc, but honestly I think it's exactly what this series needs to pick things up again. We'll see.

The Faraway Paladin - Season 2 This was legitimately one of my favourite fantasy series. I thought it was really well written and didn't rush things like other series. I'm looking forward to this season.

Sequels/Continuations: Eminence in Shadow - Season 2 killer series with an anti-hero main character. Definitely worth checking out. After-School Hanako-Kun Hanako-kun spin off Dr. Stone Season 3 - Part 2 One of the best novel concept series with nothing else in it's genre to compare to. Definitely didn't drop the ball on the recent seasons and still worth watching. Dead Mount Death Play - Part 2 One that I didn't particularly enjoy, but has a decent sized manga following. Tokyo Revengers - Tenjiku Arc The continuation of the series. Might be just me but it feels like the series fell off after the first season. The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent - Season 2 A more mature take on fantasy isekai that just started to get into romance at the end of last season. A solid combo of shoujo genres. The Ancient Magus' Bride - Season 2 Part 2 One that I haven't had a change to check out yet but have only heard good things about. Hypnosismic - Season 2 a weirdly addictive musical/rap series. Unique characters and honestly solid rap battles. One I'll be enjoying. -- Related - Paradox Live - Music battle with what looks to be the same style of animation and solid character design. Definitely worth looking at if you're a fan of Hypmic. The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse A sequel of SDS. Looks like it could be a fun watch for the fans of the series. New:

Shangri La Frontier A new manga fantasy series. This may be a horrible way to describe but it is what it is - a new age SAO- full dive fantasy game. A gamer who only plays shit games, gets into a new massively popular MMORPG and is op. One that I'm excited for because it ticks all the fantasy game boxes I like.

Undead Unluck A relatively new manga series that gained a lot of traction in the last year or two. A gory action comedy that's super chaotic and a lot of fun.

Shy Brand new hero manga series about a shy girl and her anxieties and struggles going into the hero world who grows and gains confidence as she becomes a better hero.

Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Deductions This is a manga series that I have kept forgetting the name of so never got a chance to read but all the covers for the manga look phenomenal. Likely the anime doesn't do him justice but it is what it is. Essentially sherlock in anime form. A PI with issues and the wholesome police detective work together to solve crime. Other New Series: Green - Fantasy Pink - Romance Red - Action Purple - Drama The Kingdoms of Ruins A world where witches were hunted down by humans as science surpassed magic. A kid who was raised by a witch swears revenge on mankind. This honestly looks solid. The animations are very cool looking and the mc seems to be an anti-hero. Will be looking at this one. Under Ninja A well known manga series about modern ninjas. Definitely a unique series for this season. The Apothecary Diaries A historical medical mystery show. I've heard the name before and I've also only heard good things. Will be worth a watch. A Girl & Her Guard Dog The granddaughter of a crime syndicate goes to highschool out of town and the current young boss lies his way into the same school. Would be cute romance if it weren't for the fact she's 15 and he's 26.. Butareba - The Story of a Man Turned into a Pig What the title says. A girl finds him and the story goes from there. I'm Giving the Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued a Crash Course in Naughtiness The usual light novel title. Honestly, doesn't seem as yikes as I initially thought, might just be harmless breaking the rules kinda thing. Could be fun, also a Capybara that strikes fear into people's hearts. My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned an S-Rank Adventurer Looks like a wholesome series where an adventurer finds a baby, raises it and she becomes so strong she's busy working all the time. Just a cute father daughter relationship in a fantasy setting about her wanting to come take time to see him but being caught up in OP fantasy battles. Ragna Crimson Dragons vs Humanity - a human and a dragon team up to destroy all the dragons. Action fantasy series. Berserk of Gluttony I honestly added this because I thought it was hilarious. Looks like a combo of knock offs - the Gluttony skill from Tensura (reincarnated as a slime) and the mc being called Fate with the main girl who looks exactly like Sabre. I'll be skipping but its' here so you know.

Chat Noir has a metal staff that extends. He uses it as a defense weapon and for transport. He holds on to it like it is a pogo stick, and it extends and de-extends to bounce him through the air. He has a power called the Cataclysm, which vaporizes pretty much any inanimate object it touches and infects human flesh with a spreading rot. He activates this power by saying the word cataclysm aloud. The cataclysm looks like a spitting ball of black energy that surrounds his hand. Chat Noir gains his powers from a ring called a Miraculous. The ring is inhabited by a creature called a kwami. The kwami takes the form of a minuscule cat-like animal, who calls himself Plagg. Plagg can levitate and phase through walls. Plagg enjoys eating smellly Camembert cheese. When Chat Noir is not wearing his suit, he is a 9th-grader boy named Adrien, the kind son of a cold businessman. It is thought that Adrien might be a sort of android created by the power of a different miraculous, but he appears fully human.

Aoi Zaizen

The show hates her but she is a very good character. Trickstars and Marincesses are both hella cool decks.

Aoi’s parents died when she was around 6 and she was mostly raised by her older brother. She’s the 2nd best Duelist in the VRAINS at the start of the series and over the course of the first season goes from being rather shy and only putting on a happy facade to a determined Duelist willing to risk her life to save the world. She even puts a stop to a virus that’s leaving people in comas.

Aoi gets two more avatars (Blue Girl and Blue Maiden) and also obtains a semi-magic AI named Aqua as her partner.

She never lets her trauma keep her down and was a huge inspiration for me in high school!

AOI ZAIZEN IS THE BEST GIRL! She's gonna sweep this whole tournament and here's why:

Is the peak YGO Girl who Deserved Better from the writers

Just a normal everyday girl IRL who secretly turns into an ultra bubbly sweetheart idol who everyone absolutely loves when in the virtual world.

Her VRAINS persona is extremely popular, and none of her fans know that she's just Some Girl.

Plays an idol deck with Trickstars (toxic meta combo not included)

Is sheltered by her overprotective older step-brother/guardian, but very quickly stands up for herself and what she believes is right.

Mutual protection with said step-brother is the sweetest thing ever, I love Aoi and Akira moments so much!

She does NOT fall head over heels for the main protagonist, but they do share a nice conversation and handshake as they become friends IRL (one of the best VRAINS scenes, honestly)

Absolutely wrecks Soulburner for like 99% of their duel, and only loses because the writers don't understand how to move a plot along if Soulburner doesn't win as many duels as possible

Duels two seasonal antagonists, and completely destroys them both before losing thanks to an OP anime card that will never see the light of day, and a one-off card made specifically to counter her strategy and have her lose.

Her first virtual avatar, Blue Angel, is inspired by the main character from her favorite childhood book. That's adorable!

Her main summoning chants are all about hopes, dreams, and believing in yourself.

In the English dub, she says "I could so swipe left on you right now" implying that Tinder exists in the Yu-Gi-Oh universe.

Never got the Magical Girl transformation sequence she deserved because the writers apparently were not aware that Yu-Gi-Oh VRAINS is a Magical Girl show, despite the two main dudes getting that special treatment.

AOI ZAIZEN DESERVED BETTER! Give her what she deserves!

Mac McDonald

Ok SO. First off, he’s said on at least one occasion that he considers Paddy’s Pub to be an Irish catholic bar (it is not). His religion plays a huge part in his character- it shapes a lot of his motivations and is the driving force behind a lot of his character arc. He spends a lot of time trying to reconcile his faith and his sexuality, and spends literally seasons (years in the show) doing that. In season 15, he literally almost became a priest. We see him go to confession and it’s canon that he goes regularly. In Mac day (a day where he got to choose what the gang did) he based the day around the Bible and lectured his friends.

OP note: Someone asked Mac to go up against firestar because he's not above animal abuse but i wanted to see puss vs firestar first so had firestar won, that match would have happened. to my surprise, puss won. anyways, that's why mac is up against two cats in a row

its so funny to look back on how people used to talk about my hero academia now. i remember one of the first things i ever heard about it was chatter about how this new shonen anime was actually really feminist bc it had a tournament episode where a girl fought a boy or something. and then when i finally got around to watching it that episode is just like. ochako spends the entire fight being beat down by bakugo, the audience gets mad at him for "bullying a girl" but then the teacher calls out their sexism for not treating her as a full fledged worthy opponent like bakugo is, then she pulls a trick reversal that honestly should have won her the match, but bakugo wins anyway bc op bullshit. that's it.

ochako will go on to have barely any screentime for the rest of the show except as the mc's love interest rooting for him. all the other ladies will continue to have barely any screentime, barely any plot relevance, and if they do fight they will be weaker and less effective then the male heroes. even back in that tournament where people were calling the show feminist, all the ladies lose their matches. the top 3 finalists are all boys.

but hey, at least the sexy evil teenage girl villain is bisexual and creeps on the mc AND the girls. progressive!
