Profection years

Profection Years represent the themes in the house you will be facing as well as the planets associated with the signs in the houses. REMEMBER planets within these houses also represent whether the manifestations will be positive or negative (also aspects). I will be speaking mostly positive manifestations to avoid freaking anyone out:)

Ascendent: ages 0, 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72...

The transformation in these years are closely tied to your identity. These years may also feel like you are starting over in some way, perhaps you are being too clingy with things that are not meant to be and will be forced to let go (you were supposed to do this in the 12th house but whatever you'll learn). A new you is reborn and you will be reintroducing yourself to those around you!

The rising sign is an indicator of what your year may hold for you (planet associated too!)

ex. Virgo rising may really lean into a more polished looking appearance. attention to detail and being a bit of a perfectionist in the work you do. You may be highly critical of yourself and others. These years pertain to your health/daily routine/every day work habits. Perhaps you want to incorporate a new diet or get more into a fitness routine.

Ex. Pisces in the 6th house may incorporate a ritual of some sort. Manifestation practices/protection spell work/reading scriptures from a religious text. More focused on transformation in a soul searching kind of way. What are your thoughts/feelings towards Money/intimacy/shared resources? Speaking of shared resources, if you are in a serious business or romantic partnership, this year will cause you to review what exactly is being harvested between you two. Taxes may be a focus on these years.

ex. Aries in the 8th house may feel the need to take action and charge these topics head on. Due to its independent nature they will have to learn to walk the fine line with what is theirs and what is a shared resource with their partners. Can also have to fight for inheritances. Mars will be activated this year giving more fuel/power to the individual.

9th House: ages 8, 20, 32, 44, 56, 68, 80...

Changes to your spirituality/religious thoughts. College or higher education of some kind will be a focus. perhaps you adopt a new dogma from reading a higher-level text. Travel and foreign places will be themes.

May also take work trips during this year or building rapport with foreign associates. Saturn would also be activated which can manifest in implementing more disciplinary rituals based on your spiritual belief (buddhism=incorporating asceticism practices).

The public and how you are perceived. focus on career and what you want to achieve. The 10th house can also be associated with authority figures/ father. Perhaps you end up being mentored by your boss or a fatherly figure of some kind when it comes to your career. There can be changes in the type of relationship you have with your father.

ex. Cancer in the 10th house could have a career related to caregiving or nurturing role of some kind. A protective career like the military could also manifest. Others may come to you and seek out advice of some kind due to the public seeing you as a caretaker/ motherly figure. Cancer being ruled by the moon may also cause ppl to see you as a moody/emotional person. Your mom and the relationship you have with her could be a theme (moon=mother)

11th House: ages 10, 22, 34, 46, 58, 70, 82...

The community is of importance and the ties you have. Your friends could be a big part of this year. The natural ruler of the 11th house is Aquarius which rules the media/ your presence within social media could be a theme such as being recognized or discovered in some way.

ex. Saggitarius in the 11th house would have an expansive list of friends from all types of communities, ages, and cultures (diversity, diversity, and more diversity). The 12th house is kind of the final chapter to karmic cycles. You go through a sort of ego death in this house. Depending on your attachment to things in your life will really let you know whether this year will be easy for you or not. Also have you been ignoring something or pushing a serious topic off in hopes it will dissipate into fine dust? Well, this year will bring your subconscious thoughts to life as well as influence your sleep and dreams. Isolation can manifest in different ways (working nights, hospital, prison, sleep disorders). Think of this year as the final test/ palette cleanser to all of the years prior.

ex. Taurus in the 12th (hehe how interesting:) the fixed sign will have no choice but to face the changes that have been inevitable. Perhaps you have considered yourself to be someone who is flexible (Gemini Rising) but ask anyone around you and they would say otherwise. Lessons of beauty/ugly will come about as well as lessons dealing with your foundation. + All Scorpio moons aren’t as bad as portrayed to be, it really just depends on their relationship with their mother. I see this placement as like having a Cancer/4th house moon. even though Scorpio is at fault in this position, it shows greatly that the mother has a MAJOR influence and role on how they act, respond, their mindset, and characteristics. and all Scorpio moons and their relationship with their mothers are not bad either. but they could be over smothering. either a light helicopter parent, or a over the extent helicopter parent. I noticed that it depends on how well the moon is aspected. when the moon is negatively aspected, the moon person typically takes on the toxic characteristics and personality of their mothers which makes them destructive and “bad” as the stereotype. when not negatively aspecting, they are much more self/socially aware and conscious. not saying that negative aspected moons can’t be more self evolved, but they tend to have the shorter end of the stick. they just have take that journey to get there.

I met a Scorpio moon where his moon was well aspected with trines and sextiles to harmonious planets. His mother wasn’t abusive, narcissistic or any of that sort. Scorpio moon people typically were born at a time where it was very inconvenient traumatic time for the parents, especially the mother. This showed up in his chart as his mother being over protective and overly affectionate. Not necessarily an over the extent “helicopter” parent, but he would tell me she calls him everyday, sends him bible scriptures, tried to put him in the best schools, best positions in life to be better or have better than she had. Although majority of the choices she made for him, is not what he wanted, he knows that it’s from the good intentions of her heart. Pluto = evolution, death/rebirth, betterment, etc, so her actions showed up as wanting to protect him in her own traumatic way but also wanting him to evolve into something better.

In astrology, profection houses are a technique used to determine the primary theme or focus for a particular year of a person's life. The profection houses system assigns each year of a person's life to a specific house in their natal chart. The technique involves advancing the natal Ascendant by one sign for each year, starting from the sign of the individual's natal Ascendant.

For example, I am a sagittarius rising and will be 30 next year. My profection house will be the 7th house in gemini. Currently it is the 6th house and for the past year I have been extremely focused on my health, my work environments, my fur babies, and finances. Astro Observations - 12th House Profection Years

Twelfth house deals with the subconscious mind and our subconscious patterns.

You'll think a lot and reflect a lot on the past. The ruling planet will tell you what that is. Venus - love life, relationship, etc] A lot of the of the thoughts you had as a child also come back up.

Twelfth house seeks to heal you from your emotional past.

If you follow your ruling planet and planets you have in the twelfth house, you'll notice a lot of subconscious habits you did when you were younger and its up to you do what's best like for example Taurus can point to bad eating habits or being more creative and social. You may hadn't thought about these habits as much in the past but they come back up.

Twelfth house can seem like a test of one’s character and identity. People during this time could wonder who they are.

I look at it as being in the cocoon stage of your you becoming into your adulthood.

2nd house profection year

it’s my 2nd house profection year and I’m noticing some changes in my life. < my 2nd house is in cancer for ref.

~༯ I’m eating more this year than ever tbh. like I started having comfort food!!! eating whatever I want whenever and not holding myself back as much, which is very unlike me btw. I have a virgo moon and I’m not just nitpicky but also strict with my diet, even tho I have a fast metabolism (aries stellium).

~༯ usually when I’m stressed I tend to starve myself or get over caffeinated but this year I’m leaning more towards eating for comfort < yes taurus core.

~༯ I started going to the gym again but I’d slack off and become uninterested and bored, then find it interesting again, but that could just be my gem rising.

~༯ It seems like life is more abundant. things come easier! there's less resistance. I’m able to slow down and smell the roses.. 𓇢𓆸  I even feel a bit too comfortable or stuck in my comfort zone. everything seems like it’s too much and I just want to enjoy life. ˖ ݁𖥔 ݁˖

~༯ I started buying flowers, planting flowers, decorating my house a lot more, got more perfumes, more beautiful things. currently as we speaking I have like 10 different types of flowers in my house. I started cooking more, I even made up recipes that my family liked and started making them regularly.

~༯ I’m taking care of my skin, my body, and overall health. I'm investing more in skincare and health supplements. though sometimes I overdue it, like get fixated on one thing or another.

~༯ I'm someone that used to have high energy, I'd pull an all nighter or just wake up at 3am scroll non stop or put music on, it wasn’t energy it was ⋆˙⟡ anxiety ⟡⋆˙ , but I'm having more quality sleep this year! I'm in bed by 10 and maybe I just got older, but there's that.

~༯ giving my hair a well deserved break!! I used do dye my hair very often, this year I got a short haircut and I’m growing my natural hair back, I’ve only added a few subtle highlights and I don’t style it as often. I'm embracing more simplicity with my style, though could be that my ass got lazy 𐙚(ᵕ̤ᴗᵕ̤)

~༯ I'm planing more, working on my skills and hobbies, but not rushing or forcing things and not setting high expectations either. I don't feel like there's a rush like before. my values are changing significantly, I know what I like and don’t like and what I can put up with.

~༯ don't get too comfortable and not do anything about moving forward bcz you will be tempted to. remember to still challenge yourself!

~༯ I’m having a relatively comfortable year it got me having flashbacks of my 12th house profection year which was a fckin nightmare. It was all about the subconscious, mental health struggles, depression and overcoming these things. It really was about coming up with personified methods that help me deal with these internal conflict so I can move forward. It also was the year I became more spiritual.

~༯ my 1st house profection year wasn’t good either for me personally, it was super challenging and chaotic. it had me doing things outside my comfort zone. e.g. throwing myself in the ocean (i'm afraid of drowning). my individuality was constantly tested, my determination, my willingness to put myself first and not compromise my own needs and values.

~༯ there were instances where I felt like I'm compromising for the sake of keeping a friendship, which wasn’t reciprocated. I learned to not be afraid to walk away from ppl and places that don’t respect or value me. my cut off game wasn't particularly bad before, but I felt blinded, manipulated and pressured that year, I had to fully trust myself and only rely on myself. very much aries themes.

What is a Profection year ? ⚗️

Life is made of cycle and profection year is the best way of understanding your own cycle !

Every cycle is 12 years : like the 12 zodiac sign.

You begin your first year of profection the very first day of your Life (1 years profection = from your birth to one year old) . You will also end your first profection cycle the very last day of your 11th year ! (Basically, thelast day of being 11.)

Each year is ruled by particular house and sign.

The sign ruling your year will be the one in the house ruling your year.

When I talk about year it’s from one birthday to another ! For exemple from the 04/08 to 04/08 of the next year !

To explain it better :

You are a Leo rising so your first year will be Leo ruled and influenced by the theme of the 1rst house with the planet sitting in it and if it's empty, it will be ruled by the planet associated to the sign. In this cas, Leo is ruled by the Sun ! Your second year will be in virgo and the big theme of this year could be finance,food, possession… (because of the influence of the second house).

The location of the planet in your chart will also influence your profection year !

So if you are a Leo rising and you have Venus in virgo, you will mostly have a venus influence in every year of virgo house/year !

As you can see in the wheel below, you will have a virgo and venus influenced year at 1,13,25,37…

Why do I love profection year so much ? My use of it :

I love to look and follow the profection year because it can show you the general atsmosphere of your birthday year.

For exemple : where you have Uranus is where and when you will experience new beginning !

I have Uranus in my 8th house and I moved out from my parent house unexpectedly at 19, I got a lot a new beginning and it was very transformative :)

You need to use the experience of your profection year. For exemple = don’t be afraid of the year/house where your saturn sit because it will mostly be a growth period for you.

Remind yoursel that every experience is unique, every chart is unique. You can be the same age as your friend and bth be in your 9 year but your experience will not be the same ! And that is because you don't have the same sign, planet, degree...

I recently had my solar return. And this is your friendly astrological reminder to look at your annual profection years.

What are annual profection year?

An annual profection year provides you with a central them or category that could be prevalent for you during that particular year of your life. Everyone has profection years.

Here's the chart. Find your age and look at the corresponding house for the theme.

Why am I telling you to look, you may ask?

Because for the past two years, I've had the hardest years of my life. I literally am exhausted and I feel like I've been knocked down over and over again.

Now, I know everyone has had a really difficult time the past 3 years for various extremely valid reasons. But these past two years for me just felt different. I couldn't win. I tried everything I could and I was still losing. I felt like no matter what I did, nothing ever changed. And it wasn't just one area of my life...it was literally everything.

I was reflecting on why the past two years have been really difficult for me and I was stumped. The themes surrounding those houses didn't seem like they should be huge themes.

Well...they were my 2nd and 3rd house profection years.

MY SATURN IS IN THE 2ND HOUSE IN MY PLACIDUS CHART AND MY 3RD HOUSE IN MY WHOLE SIGN CHART.

Saturn usually isolates you to work through the themes associated with that planet. And as a Cap Rising....Yeah it was rough.

I've been SO isolated the past two years. And when I looked up the themes of the 2nd and 3rd house, I literally was like "Yep. Makes sense."

And I don't know how I never connected the dots. It was glaringly obvious. But I digress.

So, yeah. CHECK YOUR ANNUAL PROFECTION YEARS.

I would say I'm relieved that they're over, but now I'm in my 4th year. The house of family, home, ancestors, roots, and the mother. I've gone no contact with my mother and have been doing a lot of work surrounding generational trauma healing on her side. My IC 4th house is in Aries...my mom's sun sign. And my Lilith is in Cancer 😂

AND MY SATURN RETURN STARTS IN MARCH.

So I don't think I'll get a break anytime soon. That's okay though lol As a Cap Rising, I'm excited for the post-return glow up. 😎

Profection Years

Guys how do you feel about Profection Years? I can't find that much about them. Right now, I'm going through my 12th house profection year and I'm almost 4 months in. I'm a Capricorn Rising so my 12h ruler is Jupiter. Jupiter falls into my solar return 9th house which transits my 6th house in my natal chart (whole sign). I've experienced wanting to be alone. All I want to do is study astrology and be on Tumblr making posts hahaha (Mars in Solar Return 1st house which transits my 9th house natally). I have Leo Sun and Venus in the 12th house in my SR Chart which transits my 8th house natally. Am I gonna have an ego death of some sort? In the whole sign natal chart I have 12h Pluto and Chiron so that makes me a little nervous for what's ahead because during my 11th house profection year in Scorpio I had Mars in the 8th house natally, terrible terrible year. Worst year of my life. Other than being completely obsessed with learning about astrology, my 12h profection year has also brought an ADHD diagnosis too. Luckily I have the resources to be able to do therapy so if all else fails at least I'll have someone to talk to.

When I look up my Profection Chart on astro seek, it says that Jupiter is natally in my 6th house but profection planet is in my 5th. I guess I could interpret that as picking up Astrology as a hobby.

Any insights on natal 12h Pluto & Chiron in my 12h profection year with the time lord as Jupiter in my natal 6th house (whole sign)? I would pay for a reading as well.

Did you guys know that every year, you’re ruled by a different house in your natal chart?

Profection years is an ancient practice that goes back a long time in astrology. It’s mostly studied in the the Hellenistic Astrology branch

Breakdown of Profection year

Look for your age.

Then look at what sign and planet is in this house to give you a better idea

1h-theres a sense of new independence you will want to explore. you may be focused on yourself more, may change your looks(new hairstyle or tattoo), how you view yourself may change. May have an Identity crisis and will ask yourself “okay, who am I?” Throughout the whole year. By the end of the year, you may have a clear picture of who you are and want to be.

2h-you may be focused on your finances mostly this year. You may switch up your beauty routine(if you have one)you’re going to question your self worth, your values. By the end of the year; you’ll know what you value and may have financial literacy.

3h-you may be more communicative than usual. If you’re a writer, this will be a good time to get those ideas on paper. Reading lots of books. If you have siblings, they may be your focus this year. Getting involved in your neighbors, meeting the neighbors. Buying a new car, laptop etc. in the end, you’ll know how to communicate better.

4h-family/ancestral roots and the home will be the theme. You may be more of a homebody this year if you’re usually the opposite. You can move homes, start a family, get ancestral dna like 23&me done to see where your roots are. You may be more sentimental this year as well. In the end, you’ll know who and what family means to you.

5h-I call this the fun year, why because the 5h rules over joys, and activities. If you’re single, this can be a good year to start dating again. You may go to concerts, hang with friends, go to carnivals. If you’re a creative , this is your year! Inner child healing will be a theme as well. You’ll learn how to be a kid again and to have fun

6h-you may be focused on your health and switch up your daily routines. You may want to switch up your dietary(go vegan, vegetarian, fast) etc. you may get a pet or if you have one, may get more involved with them. You may get a new job and get to know your co-workers.

7h- your focus is going to be on all of your relationships. If you’re a business owner than that will be your focus for the year or if you’re interested in starting one, it’s a good year for that. If you’re married or in a serious relationship, your partner will be the focus. You may end up in a serious partnerships. Court dealings can be a theme. Signing /leaving important Contracts is another theme.

8h- transformation, healing and intimacy(not just sexual) this can be a year on whether you want to start therapy or any other form of healing. Getting close to the people you love especially your partner. You may get more interested in the occult. You may be more private and secretive than previous years. This is one of the most import years in your life because you’re going through major changes.

9h- your worldview is about to change. Now this can go multiple ways. If you’re the traveling type, visiting a different country can most definitely change your view on things. Experiencing new cultures and their way of life is an eye opening experience. Changing religions or being interested in learning a different one from the one you were raised in. Going back to school to get that degree you’ve been working towards too.

10h-it’s all about your career and public image. Public image is only for those who are content creators or well known. You can become more popular or possibly famous. Your career is going to be your focus and theme. That can mean you switch careers, you get a promotion, you start doing research on the career you want etc. your dad might be your focus this year as well.

11h-your social groups and big changes. You may meet lots of new people this year while also cutting people off lol. Your social circles and who you associate with will be your focus. There’s going to lots of unexpected big changes happening that year for you. You may be more detached from people and stay to yourself doing your own thing.

12h- in my humble astrology opinion this is one of the most challenging years of your life. A lot of people who are going through 12h years are going through a huge spiritual awakening of some sort. I hate the term “woke” because it’s overused and annoying but that’s the best way to describe what’s happening to you. And it’s not just spiritual, you start looking everyone and everything funny lol. This is a good year to start your spiritual journey and ignite your creativity. You may feel more alone and isolated like never before but use this to your advantage and get to know yourself on a soul level. I promise you’re not going to be the same person but better!
