IC/MC Home life vs Public life

The IC/MC in your natal chart is a pivotal part of your natal chart.

The IC represents the home, the mother, family roots, how your childhood manifested, the type of parenting you experienced, it’s the most private and unseen part of you.

The MC represents what you show to the public, it’s your persona, what you feel the most comfortable with embodying towards others, hobbies/interests that bring you the feeling of control or comfortability even. It’s a ‘face’ that you proudly show others and it’s the ideal ‘face’ you want others to perceive you as.

I want to reiterate how these two houses manifest. The 4H and 10H are always opposing each other, whatever your 4H is, the 10H is the polar opposite.

(In some cases, the IC can be placed in the 3H or 5H etc, and if that’s the case the MC would naturally still be the opposite of that placement, even if it’s not placed in the 4H)

The experiences you have dealt with from your childhood create natural talents that you will possess in the future.

For Example:

Aries IC: In this natal placement, normally this indicates an aggressive childhood. A lot of fighting, yelling, disagreements, if you weren’t in the midst of the fights, perhaps you saw it manifest between your parents. You may of been very independent, your parents may of left you to fend for yourself, or if you cried or showed some emotion, your parents might of disregarded it and said that you were a “tough” child. In more extreme instances there was just a lot of disruption in the midst of your life. A lot of unnecessary fights or you were exposed to some anger issues from either your parents/siblings. You may had to parent yourself or take on more responsibility than a child should, in some aspect dependability was something you aren't familiar with. Parents could have been selfish, they could prioritize their own needs/desires/choices, leaving you to fixate and give up your own needs in the end.

(The above interpretation is more likely an extreme case, not every Aries IC would have this experience, in the most general term someone with an Aries IC had to focus on other people's needs, their desires were oftentimes left unnoticed or uncared for in some aspect or form, maybe their parents never prioritized their hobbies or interests, maybe they gave more attention to other siblings or to their work/interests etc)

Libra MC: In this natal placement, you now may come across to others as very friendly, kind, considerate, conscious of how you appear to others. You prioritize how you come across to others. You may dislike confrontation or unnecessary arguments, you find it not comforting to state your annoyances to others if it’s not a severe issue. You make sure to smile at others and people would find you charming and warm. You think of other peoples emotions when making decisions, people might call you a good mediator or natural at finding the common ground between parties. You understand people, and very naturally so. You put others peoples needs or issues first, you find the easy medium in almost any argument, you are adaptable and presentable towards other people, especially if you have a 11H/7H placements, such as the Moon/Sun/Venus/Mars etc, then this would create an even deeper care about others.

The reason behind your natural gifts is because you had to learn and take on Libra qualities and traits in order to feel some sort of control in your life. You couldn't control the chaos of your family, but you can control how you'd react and deal with others.

You dislike chaos/confrontation/fights and since these qualities were everywhere when you were younger, it was only natural to adapt to qualities that would balance all of that out. As humans we do strive for balance in relationships, and the relationship you have within your home would be a pivotal stepping stone with how you choose to interact with others.

You learned it was easier to smile and say yes to others even if deep down, you weren’t “okay” or happy with the situation. The only way you survived in your home life was to disregard your own feelings/thoughts/emotions. In some cases but not all, you are able to understand why people react they way they do.

In the entirety of it all, the traits you soon possessed are now catalysts for you and your career choice. Disregarding the specific example I gave, the message is the same.

Because of the experiences you dealt with in your home, you can now look at your MC qualities and understand why you might of adapted certain traits as you grew up.

One reminder for everyone is to try and not to forget the importance of balance. Even though you are more comfortable acting or being a certain way (MC) completely embodying that side when it comes to relationships isn’t fair for you. It’s okay to want to keep peace etc but (especially with Aries IC/Libra MC) but don’t forget everyone you meet won’t naturally reflect the home life you had to experience, so it’s okay to put the needs/wants/desires of yourself first, and it’s okay and (will be uncomfortable at first) to change certain habits or mindsets that were created when you were younger.

Your home life is such an important aspect for you and your self growth.

Once you are able to understand your IC and why you might find certain careers/hobbies/actions intriguing, will you be able to really grasp and understand your IC/MC to it’s fullest potential.

(The severity with your IC also depends on what other planets may occupy this house, more malefic planets like Pluto, Saturn, Mars, Chiron, Lilith even would indicate a more extreme harsh childhood. Each planet that I listed has different meanings, but in general these malefic planets would bring a harsher layout for the individual. (Not considering other indicators of a harsh childhood like the Moon sign or its aspects)

Ok wow, 11 aspects?? That's a lot haha. And yes! This is special! Your most aspected planet or angle in your birth chart indicate where your focus will be in this life. It is an energy that will be constantly present, if you like it or not.

In your case i can see you value your public image a lot, or you have been raised with people around you that put a huge importance on how you present yourself to the world, and sometimes to the detriment of being able to show your true self in social settings (can lead to people pleasing, especially if in Libra).

Now, the nature of the aspects (positive or negative) and the planets involved can shift this description a bit, if there are lots of negative aspects this can mean being rebellious to the rules of the world, and reject submitting to them.

Hey what do you think of Mc in libra with a Venus in carpricorn at first house.

- was submitted to me a while ago i’m sorry i took so long to answer, life kept me very busy.

my thoughts on libra mc is that these people come of extremely charming (obviously). most of them know how to act in different social situations. (considering that mc is your public life and how the public views you)

pls also note that whole chart is important to look at! especially aspects!

now venus in capricorn 1st house.

many capricorn venuses are givers. they show their love by buying something for you or cooking etc. while many of them prefer serious relationships or more traditional it could again change depending on the rest of the chart.

usually very loyal when in love but can have high expectations. since they give so much they expect things in return. sometime they can also be stuck in their ways. what they believe to be right, is right.

but overall someone that fights for the relationship to work and actually takes it serious.

i would also like to add that some have severe daddy issues if aspected bad. also since your love language tends to be buying something for someone (because you know they like it) people might not be aware of the love you hold for them. ( any form of love not just romantic) because many cap venuses don’t like sweet talk or just showing their love by hugging etc.

because of that sometimes people with this placement can come off as cold.

in overall one on one relationships they can make good business if aspected well. usually taken serious because if their sense of responsibility.

if badly aspected there can be a tendency of using someone for your own benefit or even manipulation.

I’m jealous of anyone with venus in the first house because most people with 1st house placements look bomb.

in my personal observation having a capricorn venus in the first house can make one more aware of their boundaries. capricorn placements in general honestly.

again, pls note that the birth chart as a whole is very important.

4th and 10th house: how we act in public vs how we act on private

Hello!! After a long pause, I came back with another post that will focus in the IC and MC axis so it could describe how we act in public (in terms of job and career settings) vs how we act in private places such as our home or with intimate friends acording to the signs rulling the cusps of these houses.

I will write this with opposite signs which means that I will start with Aries/Libra dinamic, then Taurus/Scorpio and so on. For those who don't have opposite signs just look at the signs ruling your IC and MC, and then look at both in the list below.

Aries in the IC/Libra in the MC: for those who have Aries as the rulling sign of your IC, they tend to be a very active, fierce, athletic, and action oriented person. These people can't stand still in their home environment or private setting. They must do something that's why doing sports to burn that energy can be a common thing for these individuals to do once they are at home. For woman, their family or closed ones tend to see them as a tomboy. With Libra rulling the opposite house, in career settings people tend to look at them as someone fashionable, fair, loving, charming and atractive. In general, they know what to say and exudes a calmer energy in contrast to their active, masculine, fiery, and sometimes agressive energy at home.

Taurus in the IC/Scorpio in the MC: with Taurus rulling the IC, these people tend to be pretty much calm and relaxed in their home environment or with their closest ones. They are seeing as hard working and money oriented (this can be seen either as a good or bad trait) due to their need or having enough material comfort. They tend lo like to keep relationships peaceful in their home and they don't have much problem unless they feel that they lack financial or material support. With Scorpio as the rulling of the MC, these natives makes carry a lot of power, magnetism, intensity and mysteriousness in a public setting related to their work. It seems they had a prestigious position in their field due to the powerfull energy they exude, and most of the time they like to keep control of everything they do, which can be a huge contrast to their private self.

Gemini in the IC/Sagittarius in the MC: these natives tend to be really chatty in private settings. They are curious about everything and question everything they can think of. The energy of this group talks about self-confidence (that can turn into ego problems sometimes), creativity, connecting with their inner child and playfulness while, in public or work settings, they tend to display not only intelligence, a unique vision or aproach to work, but also a caring and humanitarian energy. In private, they like to do things that makes them feel good about themselves, that lets them connect to their inner creativity or inner child, and only a few are allowed to see these side of them. Meanwhile, they tend to present yourself as someone original who cares about the wellbeing and success of the hole company so you apport with original ideas that shows their intelligence.

Virgo in the IC/Pisces in the MC: on their own, these people tend to be very practical, hard worker and organized. Sometimes they may look even as a controling figure or a overly critical one due to their need to check every single ditail of their personal life and home environment. They like to makes things done in a practical way that may look overly perfectionist to those closest to them. Meanwhile, in the work environment they act or appear as if they had a mystical aura around them. People will tend to proyect a certain idea of who this person is in real life but, most probably than not, their proyections will tend to be wrong or, at least, not entirely true. Libra in the IC/Aries in the MC: this part is similar to the aries/libra dinamic but in the reverse. These individuals have an inner caring, loving, and peace-maker energy when they are alone or with close ones but, in career settings, they carry an intense and masculine energy that may appear aggresive at times. They put a lot of energy, leadership, movement and action in their work environment. Meanwhile, once they are alone, in their home, or with close ones, these individuals are the most caring and fairest people in general. They are calm and want everything to be harmonic with their personal relationships.

Scoprio in the IC/Taurus in the MC: these natives seems calm, composed, hard working, practical, and loving in every work setting. They work hard for their success, they gradually and steadilly build a legacy or rename in the company they work for. They seems more open than their true and private nature reveals. Because the truth is, with Scorpio rulling the most intimate part of ourselves, these individuals are extremely private with their intimate life. Only a very few people, family and friends that they can trust are allowed to know their deepest part of themselves, their pains and shadow self. They can be caring in their workplace but this doesn't mean that he/she is close or intimate with their co-workers. Sagittarius in the IC/Gemini in the MC: these people act chatty, intelligent, knowledgeable and open to any kind of conversation in a public or career settings. They are smart, whitty, adaptable to any situation, and quick so they know how to answer any kind of question. Despite the intelligence and knowledge they show on public settings, this people tend to have an inner yearning to learn more things, either by studying more or travelling to other places to learn more things, even though it may seem as if they know a lot already. Along with this, they could have an inner belief system within themselves about God or humanity in general that could surprise people and an humorous side that they only show in closed settings such as their home or with friends.

Capricorn in the IC/Cancer in the MC: this is the opposite of the Cancer/Capricorn duo. In these cases, the individuals who have Cancer as the sign rulling their MC are seen in public or career settings as someone motherly, someone who is emotionally invested in the work he/she does in the company or in their own proyects. It affects them deeply when they make a mistake or are not able to fulfill perfectly the work they are asked to do. On private, they are very serious and responsable. They work hard behind the scenes in everything they do because there is a lot of responsabilities for this natives. Because, in many cases, they don't like others, or themselves, to commit a mistake. Maybe it won't look like it to others, but in private they are very dreamy, imaginative, emphatic, and sensible.
