Anybody who tries to diminish that or takes offense to it either doesn’t understand the struggle of beauty standards in the west, or they are willfully misinterpreting it to not challenge their own beliefs

Anderson grew up being over-sexualized, shamed for labels that other put onto her, and her refusal to play along with that culture is a strong statement not only in defense of herself, but every other female celebrity who is expected to fit into the neat bubble of Sexy Woman In Movies. If someone is uncomfortable with seeing her without makeup, then they should sit with that discomfort and consider what it is that is bothering them. Because it certainly isn’t Anderson that’s the root of this problem
