As a global community, we write to you with deep respect and admiration for your great nation. You have been a beacon of hope and inspiration for many generations around the world, with your unwavering commitment to freedom, democracy, and human rights. We have always looked up to you with admiration and respect.

However, we write to you today with a heavy heart, as we have noticed that some unknown nefarious forces have taken over your politics and media. We have seen several examples where America has violated the sovereignty of nations or particular individuals, and where there have been clear violations of international law. We understand that this is not the America that we know and love, and it is not your fault.

We see your suffering, the millions of people who cannot afford medical care or are addicted to drugs prescribed by doctors. We see the millions of homeless and those living in poverty, even though you are the best country in the world and the bastion of the free world. We feel your pain and want to help you.

We want to tell you that we love you, and we want to support and encourage you during this time of change. We believe that together, we can make a difference and bring back the America that we know and love. We want to work with you to create a world that is free from oppression, tyranny, and corruption.

Please know that you are not alone, and we stand with you in your time of need. We will continue to support and encourage you as you make the necessary changes to become the great nation that we know you can be.

I myself switched to the Green Party because I was tired of Congress being nothing more than a sports event. And, with the current genocide in Gaza, we've seen just how vile our government really is. Our tax dollars shouldn't be supporting an apartheid and genocidal state such as Israel. Neither should they be paying for our imperialistic military industrial complex which creates terrorism among those people who've been adversely affected by US hegemony. Excellent news. Daniel Roher’s documentary about Russian dissident Alexei Navalny won an Oscar early this morning. 

This validation from Hollywood demonstrates that nobody has forgotten the illegal imprisonment of Alexei Navalny by the Russian state. People like Yulia Navalnaya, his wife, have kept track of every human rights abuse of Navalny since he was unlawfully detained in January 2021. The pile of fraudulent charges levelled against Navalny, including claims of parole violation and fraud, are not recognised in the civilised world. 

It is important to keep Alexei Navalny’s name in the news for this reason and to validate the struggle he has led against Russian state corruption and lawlessness. 

Navalny’s wife, Yulia, sent a great message at the acceptance speech. Also present were her daughter, Daria, and her son, Zakhar. Head of investigations at FBK, Maria Pevchikh, was also present. 

Director Daniel Roher noted that the Oscar was also dedicated to other Russian political prisoners, as well as political prisoners all around the world. It should be noted that Putin has increased his arbitrary imprisonment of Russian dissidents, especially since February 2022. 

Vladimir Kara-Murza is currently under arbitrary detention for opposing the Ukraine war. Another Russian politician, Ilya Yashin, is also in prison for the same reason. Many others have been locked up, charged with spreading disinformation about the Russian army and the war. 

Prior to this, many were imprisoned for protesting against Putin’s corrupt and lawless regime. Navalny himself was imprisoned before, including during the assassination of Boris Nemtsov in February 2015. Russian prisons are infamous for squalid conditions and multiple human rights abuses. Once again: it is absolutely essential to keep the spotlight on Russian political prisoners: dictators get away with their crimes when they think the civilised world doesn’t care. 

Therefore this Oscar, along with news that the Georgian parliament has withdrawn its pro-Kremlin ‘foreign agents’ bill, is a victory against Vladimir Putin.

Frankly speaking, I don’t know what should I call myself, an obtuse, a daft or a moron or mentally retarded as my little knowledge fails me explain after all what is corruption or what doesn’t constitute corruption. If greasing palms is the only corruption or if that also includes favouritism, exploitation physically, mentally and emotionally or if the corruption also includes shirking from our responsibilities

And I fail to understand , if the day earmarked as Anti-corruption day is to be

Observed to acknowledge the existence of the phenomenon of corruption in all walks of life in our country in particular and worldwide in general on a colossal scale

or the day is to be

Celebrated for acceptance of corruption as a way of life in our society without even slightest pricking to our souls, as those indulging in it are being now called wise and practical and those opposed to it are termed as ideological fools, impractical or grumpy fellows who are sheer obstacles for the things to move smoothly and are akin to an ungreased gearbox creating unpleasant sounds due to friction and thus stoping smooth functioning of the machinery

or it’s a day to

Look within to acknowledge of some sort of the collective demise of inner conscience of the nation, murdered by the collaborators, where we the common citizens chose to be mute spectaculars.

Governments and administrators have changed but if anything has stayed firmly or rather has notoriously and unabatedly progressed besides uncontrolled population explosion creating various problems for the coming generations, it’s none else than CORRUPTION.

If Anti-corruption Day is not a day of repentance, then it’s as fake as the other famous slogan for decades calling to eradicate poverty GARIBI HATAO!

Bulgarian customs chief targeted in anti-corruption operation

Bulgarian prosecutors have launched an investigation into officials including the new customs chief, Petya Bankova, and her deputy, Lyudmil Marinov, as prosecutors claim they have evidence of smuggling, money laundering and bribery, Euractiv reports.

In a joint operation between the Bulgarian prosecutor’s office, the new Bulgarian Anti-Corruption Agency and the State Agency for National Security, seven people were arrested, including the new head of the agency and her deputy.

Bulgarian Customs is the key body controlling trade on the Bulgarian-Turkish border, the EU’s busiest land external border. The Bulgarian border serves the bulk of the EU’s trade in food and other goods with Asian countries and is one of the main transit routes for drugs into the EU. The Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office said:

“The Anti-Corruption Commission has opened a criminal case against an organised criminal group that has been carrying out smuggling, money laundering and bribery related to the Customs Agency.”
