I don’t really give a shit about James Somerton, but apparently he claimed that he Did A Plagiarism because of a head injury he had as a kid + ADHD, so he would just copy and paste paragraphs and then forget to rewrite them.
And as someone who was ALSO hospitalized for a head injury as a child, and ALSO has ADHD (with one of my primary symptoms being memory loss), I feel uniquely qualified to fight him on this because I have never done a plagiarism.

as much as i love braime with all my heart i wish ppl would talk ab brienne more individually and her character because i truly am obsessed with her!!! i think she’s one of the most revolutionary female characters ever tbh (i think a lot of the asoiaf girls are kinda revolutionary but that’s because they’re much more well written than a lot of characters) like when do creators ever let they’re supposedly “masculine” female characters be soft and genuinely empathetic as well as heroic?? when do creators ever let a woman be ugly! like the complexity of her never being able to fit in anywhere, she’s not allowed to be woman because she’s ugly and the society she’s born in can’t even stomach her and when she tries to defy the gender roles that said society won’t even let her fit into by picking up sword she’s mocked and ridiculed and her womahood is stripped of her even more and tells her to be more like a woman !!! JUST RAHHHHH i love her sm i’m sorry ab this rant i’m tired and have been thinking ab her. BEFORE I END FHIS RANT i fuckjng HATE HATE HATE d&ds depiction of brienne they could not understand even what her arc was ab!!! they stripped her of everything she is!!! her loyalty, her naivety, her empathy, her heroism ITS ALL JUST GONE!!! instead they decide to make her the stereotypical badass androgynous warrior woman and like there’s nothing wrong with that trope hell i like it but all the nuance surrounding her arc and her gender are just gone. i would’ve loved to see gwen play a book accurate brienne because i loveee gwen and she is what saved show brienne for me

took 10mg of methylphenidate today for the first time (as my psychiatrist recommended) and immediately:
-went to the shop and got everything I needed without forgetting anything or getting derailed
-watched half hour of a video essay without playing a game in the background
-read a chapter and a half of a book
-wrote 1k words on my WIP
All of this while still being in burnout, mind you. You're telling me it could have been like this all this time?! What the actual fuck-

TCM Disability Week, Day 7: Headcanon.
@texas-chainsaw-fanworks
Artist's statement + rambling + a transcript of the text below.
Text : "Enright seems unphased by most of what's going on. He's slugging down the Mezcal- sweating. Enright's eyes shake in his own private nightmare. He sees chainsaws all around him: splintering the walls; hacking up through the floor; shattering the furniture. The chainsaws' rampage goes on and on insanely. Enright doesn't flinch. "
I recently got my hands on a copy of the TCM 2 original screenplay, which has a lot more characterization for Lefty. The passage above is an expert from the screenplay which kind of plays into my headcanon. I'm not sure it's 100% a headcanon bc of the original screenplay but I'm still counting it. I think Lefty suffers from alcoholism (or like. More properly SUD) and psychosis caused by some kind of underlying condition. In my mind it's PTSD with psychotic features since his symptoms seem to relate to/ revolve around the sudden traumatic loss he experienced (hallucinations of their weaponry, paranoia about the killers' awareness of him/ ability to find him. And in my reading of the og script he and Sally both show a lot of dissociative symptoms, which is common with PTSD, especially severe PTSD, which co-occurs most commonly with PTSD with psychotic features.) I find Lefty's particularly psychology interesting because hes one of very few tcm characters who shows a lot of symptoms of mental illness on screen without being an outright villain.
I tried to portray all that by painting his expression in the scene the text is from, and dripping it all with melted crayon, which both creates a blood spatter- like pattern, but also, like the script text which is on a separate piece of paper, creates another dimension/ layer of the paper that exists on a different plane from Lefty himself. Something he might feel and might perceive, but is on a different plane from himself.

I'm really sorry you and your sister are dealing with that
(no pressure to publish this, not that there should ever be pressure to publish an ask if you don't want to, of course, but just wanted to say I hope you're doing okay)
Ah, thank you, anon, it's okay. It's been a while now (court moves slooow), but we're getting hopefully close to the end. She filed in Family Court December 2022, and we've had about five interim hearings with final trial (finally) scheduled over four days next month, so fingers crossed! But yeah, it's been A Time. He's financially and emotionally abusive against my sister, and both those things as well as medically negligent against their children (who are only six and eight and both have special needs), so it's been....rough. To say the least.
But on a lighter note, have one of my new favourite photos I took of my nephews at the jellyfish enclosure at the aquarium last month!

At least twice a week since July I've had people thanking me for my neuroendocrine cancer education and telling me how often they use the resources I built them :') idk imposter syndrome is ever present and in healthcare you can even have thoughts of "Man, am I spending too much time educating/researching on poorly understood cancers?"
I'm still struggling to decide on format, but I'm currently compiling my research and resources to make a self-guided cancer education resource for my team. I really enjoy my job rn but I think focused cancer education would be nice to springboard into later in life once I finish learning about the inner guts of the ACA. I'm finally healthy enough to consider higher education, but the catch is my employer insurance is the only reason I can get my medical care...and leaving for school to be able to focus more officially on cancer education means I'd lose that medical care security :(

hi. i would just like to say that this is an attitude i've seen around increasingly often and i find it deeply baffling. like, genuinely could not relate any less to what is being expressed here.
personally, almost all media i'm obsessed with and talk about constantly is because i think it's good and i love talking about the ways in which it's good. yes, criticism can be fun and breed conversation, but so can positive critique. thoughtful, long-lasting engagement with a piece of media doesn't have to be negative. there are in fact ways for media to be good beyond "competent but generally unremarkable"?
and this is ymmv, but complaining about something is more the snack food of media criticism for me. it's fun and great in the moment and it absolutely is something i need to do regularly to feel normal. but i can't live off it. i need to experience genuine appreciation and esteem on a regular basis too, or i shrivel like a raisin. (expressed more seriously: the kind of critique i find actually nourishing in the sense that it allows me to refine what kind of art i would like to make, and what makes me tick as a human being, is the positive kind about media i love very much for being excellent.)
idk guys. is it just that i'm autistic and therefore discussing for the nth time why xyz rules never stops being entertaining? what am i missing here. maybe it's good when media is good?
