god i fucking love competitive play, i love watching high level, skilled gameplay from passionate players, i love learning the statistics for each player and the game as a whole, i love hearing everyone and especially the casters glaze the fuck out of my favorite players. mc summit/mojang and mc.c you will be fucking dealt with .

I love splatoon 3 but I was playing 2 earlier and like, sure it was dead as hell, but it was so fun when I could get a match and it made me kinda sad 3 missed/skipped so many small details,,,

#like squid beats!!#I’m shit at hitting the beats that need both left and right buttons but it’s so fun!!!#also the matchmaking music!!#it’s fun to hit buttons and remix it slightly while you wait!#i also like how big the maps are #I was on humpback on 2 and wow it feels like so much bigger somehow #space to move and ink freely!!!#very different vibe despite how similar the gameplay is #tho that partly coulda been how dead the servers were #anyway I love both!!#I didn’t get to play 2 when it was big but I might try playing it more often even if it’s dead #the pearlina stan in me was loving see their newscast again tho #splatoon #splatoon 2 #splatoon 3

fun things about homebrewing a campaign from the ground up with almost exclusively homebrewed monsters and items: remembering that random encounters don't have to be that complicated, going "if they get too cocky, they get five giant bats to the face" and boom. random encounter.

#listen i have done SO MUCH work homebrewing everything they come up against #but i was thinking about how the dungeon i've built doesnt have enough small encounters and i literally woke up in the middle #of the night like ''bitch giant bats and ghouls already have stat blocks make them fight some groups of them''#they like the balance i've established so far of small encounter-rp-large encounter/some days more heavy on one or the other #but the dungeon had fewer small encounters than i liked #so i ended up creating a mid-size encounter but i was like ''idk if that counts as ''small''...#and then i metaphorically stared into the camera and went ''they're underground. fuckin bats you fool''#dnd #dungeons and dragons #i have four pages of homebrewed content so far on dndbeyond and i'm building maps and interactions from scratch #they're gonna have an optional maze they can solve so i got a $15 labyrinth toy so they can do it irl #they have three forced encounters‚ two bonus bosses‚ a puzzle‚ a fun potion to find‚ an easter egg for the story its based on #one of the forced encounters has a good/evil choice they can make - i'm really confident that they'll pick the good choice #but i created the monster and item they'll get if they choose the evil one anyway because violence is an option #there's a chasm to narrowly cross that's just deep enough to be A Problem but not deadly #a final boss that will be an absolute bitch #minor treasures for the smaller stuff and some really really good ones if they kill the bonus bosses #one really phenomenally incredible potion that will be so amazing they won't want to use it #i even made them a physical map to refer to #i am. very proud. of this dungeon.

starting my awakening trio run and picked up my first loser <3 i adore him

#ann plays fates #this scene in particular is very dear to me #because its iconic but also i remember playing it for the first time so clearly #i was like 12 years old and this was my first time playing conquest #i was on a long plane ride with my parents and fates was my first fe game right #we were going to see family and i had to leave my dog with a sitter which i was very sad about i was very attached to him #and so i tried to cheer myself up by playing my new silly anime game and i got to odin and niles and they made me laugh so hard #and i lost this map like twice before i beat it but it was sooo much fun i didnt even care #and as a child i used to not take losing very well i think conquest humbled me 😭#anyways i love this chapter love this scene thats a very small and short story but anything that made me laugh at times like that were nice #and my parents were like ‘??? what the hell are u laughing at you dont laugh’ and i didnt know how to explain this to them

the storm coast is crazy because i hate it and get lost every time i go there but it's definitely one of the best maps in terms of quests and content

#something about the hills is very counterintuitive. i literally got turned around somehow earlier and #went in the direction id just come in for a full 30 secs. ive cleared this map at least 5 times and i SWEAR each time #it completely changes shape.#anyway. two ways to solve the main quest (i think its the only map with that feature). dragon fighting giant spectacle #extra part of the map you can unlock. the red lyrium dungeon you unlock is also pretty fun but that's way later #crazy mage who reads anders' manifesto in his murder basement #it kind of has it all

#rat rambles #oni posting #the second half fills you with the horrors so you forget that the log opened up with that b111-1 bomb #for the record a paradox is one of my favorite lore logs of all of them because its the log that made me go Oh Shit and go reread all the #olivia logs I initially only skimmed through and begun the olivia brain takeover #the second part rewired my brain irreversably like its so fucked I love it #in particular one thing that makes me so fucking glad that the old olivia jackie logs were scrapped is that originally jackie was the one #who printing pod ified olivia to save her from the end of the world or smth #but the change to make it self inflicted? fucking amazing ten million times better and more interesting #especially because it implies she did it on purpose!#which opens up so many doors and I fucking Love it #because the teleportation technology was what she knew of as a method of doing this but either A shed have to have kept using teleporters #anyways and either just count on her not dying or counting On her dying #or shed have to know the link between it and the neural vaculators #which is very possible considering Stuff™ but does raise the question of how she used it #now the boring answer is that her brain map was already taken from the neural vaculator tests but god. that answer is boring.#the most interesting possibility to me personally is that she could have well. tinkered a bit with existing technology.#unlikely? maybe. fun to explore for my purposes? yep.#also I need the peace of knowing that jackie never got the satisfaction of knowing what happened with olivia's dissapearance #or if she did only after the fact #I need this to have been completely out of jackie's viewpoint at the top and I need it to fuck with her and shatter her worldview #I need to see the desperation and paranoia of a woman who is realizing that she has lost control over her technology #I need to see her try to cling onto her past ambitions and sense of control while falling apart at the seams #and I need olivia to have never thought jackie would give a shit until all else but her is dead and gone #do you see my vision do you see it do you see how much more fun it is if it was extremely deliberate instead of only lightly so

Ever since I learned that you had to actually teach your kids how to do stuff, it's been so much fun having them around. It's very cute to watch them play with something they've never seen before, or only do something after they see me do it first. Idk how much is code and how much is coincidence, but they're undoubtedly better at living now. And their personalities are so unique!
