i hate when i ask for some form of mental health advice and then find out the person is an endo supporter bc it immediately discredits everything they said.

like i asked an npd blog about information and its like. oh okay thank you! but now i cant trust what u say about this stigmatized disorder considering ur contributing to stigmatization of another...

or how i asked someone about person-first language in autism then saw they're pro-endo and like. nvm :/ how am i supposed to trust yall when ur openly ableist??

it shouldn't even BE something i have to worry about but endo acceptance makes it harder to find information about OTHER disorders too. It normalizes taking information about clinical topics at face value and not questioning what people say online & the impact of it spreads beyond DID/OSDD-1

I don't trust any blog that's pro endo, not for anything, especially not reliable information. We shouldn't have to worry about this but unfortunately we do and it's the fucking worst. Megatron

-He knows. He knows how it feels to be scorned in your youth. He knows how much you hurt. He also knows that he wouldn’t be the best at comforting you, so he provides a distraction. -Every time you come to him an anxious, frustrated mess because of them, he takes you to stargaze or to read or just sit on the top of the ship in peace. -Megatron entertains you will tales of when he was younger, fighting for the freedoms he still believes in. You know he’s been hurt too and there’s a comfort in knowing you both still are yet to move on from that past, and that’s okay. You’ll confront it when you are stronger.

Starscream

-He’s not…the best at comforting people. But he is angry. So angry. Why would anyone hurt you? Especially when you were so small? He’s felt small every day of his life, he can’t imagine what sort of monster does that to a sparkling.

-Honestly, he turns into an outlet for your rage. Want to scratch something up? He finds things for you to break, things for you to throw. It's not the most healthy, but when has anything he ever done been?

-When all your anger has been exhausted, he just sits with you. That helps more, and he knows that, but he won't say anything. And that's okay.

Knockout

-Out of all the cons I think he would be the most helpful. He pampers you, taking you on long drives and god-awful drive-in movies to distract you. He's also willing to just listen to you vent to him while he's working in the medbay.

-If the harmful person comes back, you can bet he's got his saw blade out and will not hesitate to bring them down. He provides you with a free escape ride if you are ever in an uncomfortable situation.

-He is always, always ready to shower you with compliments, especially when he picks up that you've had a bad day. And if you don't feel like telling him what's going on, he will distract you with the randomest stories about himself. It always makes you laugh.

Breakdown

-You better believe that this guy's got hugs for days for you. After many, many, many threats to whomever is hurting you, he sits with you and listens to you vent.

-His attempts at reassuring comments aren't the best, but he tries. He'd much rather go pound the jerk to dust, though.

-He somehow smuggles a shitload of chocolate and ice cream up to the Nemesis for you. Most of the ice cream melts before you can eat it, but it is still delicious.

Arachnid

-The person who is hurting you is never seen or heard from again :)

-You don't mention it and neither does she.

Soundwave

-You better believe that you will never go anywhere near your abuser again. He keeps tabs on them, removing you from anywhere within a 5-mile radius of them. If you do happen to meet them, he is sending Laserbeak and they have roasted limbs from lasers.

-Records everything you say they did and privately keeps it just in case. Not to blackmail them or to send them to the police, of course.

-Lets you play with Laserbeak and pulls up comforting and funny videos to watch with you. He is as silent as ever, but that doesn't change the fact that he cares about you.

Dreadwing

-He pretty much becomes your personal bodyguard. It's a little strange at first, but you get used to his presence and sweet insistence in accompanying you everywhere, especially if you encounter your abuser.

-You can bet that if anything ever happens again with that person, they will go down in a firey explosion orchestrated by his own hand.

-Sucks at speaking to you (about anything, really. he's so stiff.), but when he cleans his weapons, he is happy to listen to you.

Shockwave

-Ah yes, Mr. no emotions. He tries...I think. He'd rather give you some weapon of mass destruction than listen to you detail all of your abuse. I mean, it's a solution, I guess.

-He makes you watch the seekers to learn self-defense and also read some Cybertronian literature on battle tactics.

-At least you can punch now and use poisons?

Predaking

-After learning what had happened to you, he refuses to let you leave his side for weeks. He cares for you and distracts you by terrorizing Starscream on the ship.

-Eventually, though, he accompanies you to meet with the abuser. You talk with them for a bit before he comes crashing down in his dragon form, scaring them into oblivion.

-It felt really good.

Genuine question, how close did you get to that hornet? How zoomed in was your phone?

I'd have been so nervous to try to stand near them - wasps scare me pretty bad though

Maybe 6-8 inches, it was not zoomed in (though the video was cropped). The only reason I was not closer was because my phone doesn't focus well when zoomed in, not because the hornet cared. All it wanted was some wood pulp. I was standing at the door to the pen watching the birds when it landed next to me so I pulled out my phone to get some pics and a video before it flew off.

The only time in the last, like, 20 years that I've been stung was when I didn't realize some yellow jackets had made their yearly nest inside one of my bird pens and I practically stepped on it, and you know what? Fair. If someone stepped on my home I would probably sting them too if I could. We did end up having to cull that particular nest because they started going after the birds, but most seasons they make a nest or two around the property and we just leave them alone for the summer until they're done and they eat our pests. We've had a few paper wasp colonies before as well, and they've never hurt anyone. I see bumblebees, and hornets, and carpenter bees, and mud daubers, and several others, and they all have things they're doing just going about their business. Provided I'm not doing anything to them, they don't do anything to me!

And honestly? Most of the time if they're near a human it's because the human has food or water they want, are wearing a color they are attracted to, or smell like something they are investigating. They're not violent (provided you aren't starting shit with them first), they are usually just hungry or thirsty or wanting to know what's going on. I can relate!

tldr; my fucking DOCTOR is pro-endo and her source is a dumbass paper that proves nothing and now my healthcare is at risk!!

just had my appointment with my gender wellness doctor. she asked how i've been and i mentioned finding a 2nd therapist for specific stuff. she asked what and i said dissociative disorders. i wanted to be vague but she pressed me to talk about it and reluctantly i talked about having alters and answered her questions bc i struggle with saying no.

i told her i was ok with doing an adverse childhood experiences scale but that i had stuff i wanted to talk about (like my hrt not being at the pharmacy for months) she said "we'll get to it".

after the assessment she asked abt it causing distress and she was talking about how in the office they use the term "plural identities" i said that was fine but that its still a disorder. she was like "disorder is negative" and compared it to how it used to be called gender identity disorder (comparing the two as if she has any place to talk on it, being cis and a singlet) but its better to use "plural identities"

i was like "thats fine as long as its still seen as a disorder and caused by trauma" and she was like "no its not always caused by trauma" and i straight up said "do you have a source for that?" and she was like "google my husbands name" and i did and THEN she moved on to my actual issues with struggling to get hrt for months.

the whole time after i had to mask how i was feeling so i could get basic healthcare. after she hung up i burst into tears. its been like 10 min and im still crying and feel sick. ive had doctors say they dont know what DID/OSDD-1 is before. ive had them say DID is a personality disorder. ive never had anything like this before and i feel unsafe. the fucking endo community IS affecting healthcare. i dont feel like i can ever talk to a doctor about this stuff again. she completely talked over me and then moved on like it was nothing

btw this is the stupid study her husband worked on. read it and its not even PROVING ANY OF WHAT SHE SAID. its just "oh well some people THINK theyre plural and of course disordered people have to be miserable so if you like ur alters they must be magically there!" and was from the plural association. its fucking disgusting this is being used as fact when theres nothing but subjective opinion.

im really sorry about that arachnid anon. That sucks and if you can we hope you manage to get a new doctor because she is clearly causing you distress. This really sucks, I feel like endos don't always realise how dangerous this stuff can be for actual systems. If doctors don't see it as a disorder then they won't treat it as such, meaning you won't get the help you need and you won't feel safe with her (as you said), which like,, isn't good. She's not a specialist meaning if anything she shouldn't really be saying stuff about DID/OSDD at all, because that's not her job or her place ((I understand you brought it up, but still. She should keep her opinions out of her damn job))

-some spiders can make a hissing like sound (they do this by rubbing their front legs together)

-there are spiders called trap-door spiders and they make borrows in the ground (and they grab their pray when they/it walks by)

-trap-door spiders have special teeth just for digging

-wolf spiders like to sleep and live in holes in the ground

-wolf spiders also don't weave webs

Though I'm not the biggest fan of spiders, they are such interesting little creatures. Trap-door spiders sound really cool, I didn't know there were spiders that hunt by digging into the ground!!

I think the huntsman spider is a really cool one, I'm just fascinated how god-damn big it can get, though I think I'd be terrified if I saw any spider like that around. We don't get any big spiders where I live, I don't think I would be able to live in a place where big spiders are 😨

I know no one asked but...mine would be jellyfish, or more specifically the phantom jellyfish. They're such neat little things, that can also get quite big. I find them so fascinating, all the different versions of them and how different they can actually get. I really love going to the aquarium just to see the moon jellyfish, they get me so excited, I love them asfhsjfhweahre
