As 2020 is nearing, it’s time to see what 2019 has brought us when it comes to gay representation in tv shows and movies. Below ‘read more’, there’s a whole list of tv shows/ships/movies (with pictures and basic description) which include/are about gay (used as an umbrella term) men and couples (so basically have gay storylines and at least one gay person is a main character of the show/movie).

Since I’m a gay man, I keep up mostly with mlm, if I included wlw as well, I don’t think the list would be complete with my lack of knowledge, so sorry about that. I’m pretty sure there are more competent people who can do that instead of me.

TV SHOWS

TV SHOWS WITH TITULAR/CENTRAL GAY CHARACTERS/SHIPS

The Other Two: the funniest most-relatable show centered around three siblings – one of them is gay (left). A must-watch for sure. He’s pretty much the hugest part of the show, there are some love storyline (...and they were roomates), some self-loving moments and iconic lines. Just watch it, you won’t regret it.

Sex Education: show about two best friends, one of them (right) is gay. His name is Eric and he gets involved with his enemy Adam (left). Amazing show.

Special: show about a gay man Ryan (right) with mild cerebral palsy, who wants to live his life as an independent person to the fullest. Easy and short show to watch.

Druck (German SKAM Remake): if you don’t know SKAM, it’s pretty much a show where each season is devoted to one character. Third season of German SKAM aired this year and it was revolved around a gay guy (left). For the first time in SKAM history, the main character’s love interest is a trans guy (right).

Skam France (French SKAM Remake): the French version of SKAM had a gay season this year as well. 

WTFock (Belgian SKAM Remake): Belgium has a season focused on the main gay character this year as well.

El corazón nunca se equivoca: I’m pretty sure you’ve heard of Aristemo from ‘Mi marido tiene más familia’. Well, they’d already aired the first season of the new spin-off centered around their lives in college (I think).

Merlí: Sapere Aude: Bruno (left) and Pol (right) fans, it’s time to make some noise. Brunol is coming back because Pol is getting a spin-off which will be taking place in university. Bruno will be in it as well. First episode airs on 5th of December this year.

Pose: second season of Ryan Murphy’s popular show with main transgender and gay characters has aired this year.

The Politician: another show from Ryan Murphy was created. The main protagonist of the show (right) is played by Ben Platt and he’s gay. The show contains many LGBT+ main characters.

Tales of the City: the revival of the Tales of the City sequence of miniseries aired this year. The show includes many LGBT+ storylines.

The L Word: Generation Q: the revival of The L Word show will air on 8th of December this year. The show is mainly about lesbians, but based on trailer, there will be a gay couple included as well.

Years and Years: very futuristic show with a political message. Includes both mlm and wlw as main characters.

The Red Line: the plot of this show involves a white cop in Chicago who mistakenly shoots and kills a black doctor named Harrison. Harrison had a husband (left) and daughter (right). The show deals with the consequences of the event.

Now Apocalypse: all I’m gonna say is that Beck from Victorious got to make out with Scott from Teen Wolf, Matty from Awkward and Jake from Glee. The show was renewed for second season and later this statement was taken back and it got cancelled – which I guess says enough about the show.

This Close: the show is about two best friends who are deaf. One of them (left) is gay and has a storyline and spicy scenes with the guy on the right and some other guys as well. 

Schitt’s Creek: David (right) and Patrick (left) aka the cutest softest couple of all time. The last season of the show will air next air. Watch the show if you wanna laugh and watch the healthiest gay couple on tv. They also got engaged this year, which was beautiful.

NEW TV SHOWS (1 SEASON) WITH MAIN GAY CHARACTERS/SHIPS

Daybreak: both main characters and basically on different sides of the battles. Who wouldn’t want to watch enemies being in love Romeo & Juliet style.

El Juego de las Llaves (The Game of Keys): very interesting and fun show to follow, the one on the right is the main character. He’s closeted, has a girlfriend and gradually realizes there’s something else out there. Nice kissing scenes, plus one very spicy scene. Doesn’t hurt that the guy on the left he will be involved with looks like a dollar store Chris Evans if you squint hard enough.

Five Bedrooms: 5 strangers moves in. The guy in the middle is gay. His mom is a very traditional Indian woman who just wants grandchildren. The whole show is heart-warming and sad at times. The guy gets fair share of screentime and some love interests including a cop from the neighbourhood.

Made In Heaven: Indian show that follows the lives of Tara and Karan (left), two wedding planners in Delhi running an agency named Made in Heaven. Karan is gay. Very progressive show with spicy gay scenes.

What/If: haven’t seen the show yet but friends said these two have a nice storyline in the show. Threesome included.

Bonding: show about two best friends Pete (left) and Tiff (right). Pete is gay. They basically... do freaky shit for work... umm. Just watch trailer or something.

Osmosis: I have no idea what the show is about but the guy on the left is set to betrying to find a soulmate or something. I think I remember seeing some spicy scenes.

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists: basically some gay romance with the guy on the right and someone else. The one on the left dies the first episode so I did not even bother after that. But you can be the judge of it.

Doom Patrol: Larry (left) is a superhero, kinda. There’s something haunting his past, though. Something that involves being gay.

The Umbrella Academy: Klaus (left) my favorite character. He’s kind of a hero along with his other siblings. There’s a deep gay storyling along the way.

Weird City: anyways... all I’m gonna say is that Dylan O’Brien played a gay for one episode in a show. Wish there wasn’t this huge ugly age difference.

Roswell, New Mexico: cowboys, aliens, bisexuality, homosexuality and all that. Didn’t really see the show but there’s a lot of content with these two.

Good Trouble: never saw the sow but the guy on the picture is a main bisexual characters. There are some mlm scenes.

The Society: Grizz (right) and Sam (left) literally the highlight of the show. Just watch it, it is worth to see it for both of them. Sam is also deaf. The show is basically about a bunch of teenagers getting stuck in a town with no one else in or around.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series: The High School Musical tv show has just started airing on Disney+. Carlos (left) is confirmed to be gay and to be getting a nice development this season which will probably involve Seb (right) as well.

The Heights: Australian tv show. Sully (left) is gay. Got a thing for Ash (right) at the start. Then things were messy. Then they suddenly kissed. And the things are messy again.

El Club (The Club): very interesting show. The gave these two really (like REALLY) spicy scenes. Some romantic stuff. But there’s really not much depth in my option. Check and see.

Volevo fare la rockstar: didn’t see it but it’s an Italian show and there’s a romantic storyline between these two.

No Good Nick: Jeremy (right) came out this year on this sitcom. Nice and very weid sitcom. Unfortunately it was cancelled, but the way they handled his gay storyline was rather nice.

World on Fire: follows lives of ordinary people from Britain, Poland, France, Germany and the USA during World War II. Two of them are gay. And yeah one of those two is Will from sense8.

TV SHOWS (1 SEASON+) WITH MAIN GAY CHARACTERS/SHIPS 

Andi Mack: the show that made history. Andi Mack is a Disney Channel show and for the first time in Disney Channel history, Cyrus (right) came out using the word ‘gay’ and made it official with the recurring character TJ (left) this year. The two-season slow-burn was really worth it.

Shadowhunters: Malec got married this year. Yay.

Grey’s Anatomy: Levi and Nico still going strong.

La Casa de las Flores (The House of Flowers): despite the first season making it seem like it was the end for Diego and Julián, that’s not the case. In season 2, they’re stronger than ever, the scenes are spicier than ever and the show is gayer than ever.

Baby: first season was mostly focused on Fabio (face on right) realizing he’s gay. The second season has shockingly showed us that Brando (face on left) is gay as well. Very toxic ship so if you enjoy Gallavich this is probably for you.

Élite: Omar and Ander continuing their journey.

Shameless: Ian (up) and Mickey (down) came back to Shameless season 10 as main characters. About time.

Station 19: new love interest (left, a deaf character portrayed by a deaf actor) was introduced for Travis (right) in the season 2 finale. Let’s see what happens in season 3, which airs in 2020.

Ackley Bridge: they pretty much baited us with Cory (left) and Naveed (right) this season. They stayed just friends, but Naveed found a love interest, so that’s nice.

Find Me In Paris: Never saw the show, but Jeff (on the picture) is gay and his love interest Isaac gets introduced in second season that aired this year.

13 Reasons Why: Tony and Caleb going strong. It was also revealed that Monty (right) is a closeted gay and had a storyline with Winston (left). There’s probably more to come with them in next season. 

Insatiable: unfortunately they didn’t serve much Bob (right) & Bob this year. But they introduced detective Rudy (left) and there were some scenes and twists and turns. Whatever.

Riverdale: I don’t care. Kevin (left) is still there. There are some gay charcters based on wiki, but yeah. Crumbs, I bet. Whatever.

Charité: second season (which has the two main gay characters) takes place in Berlin in 1943. You don’t need to watch the first season at all, to understand the second one with them, it’s basically a stand-alone.

Animal Kingdom: Deran and Adrian’s story coming to an end?

The Magicians: Well, they killed off the central bi character Quentin (on the picture), so fuck them. 

How to Get Away With Murder: Connor (left) and Oliver (right) still there.

Dear White People: haven’t seen it, but Lionel (on the picture) is still there and he’s gay.

Zoe Valentine: there’s this web series and these two have a storyline in second season that aired this year.

SOAP OPERAS AND TELENOVELAS

Sturm der Liebe: Boris (left) and Tobias (right) are married and lived happily ever after. Really cute and sometimes dramatic storyline overall. Check it out.

Malhação: Vidas Brasileiras: Santiago (left) and Michael (right) had a gay storyline but the show ended this year.

Malhação: Toda Forma de Amar: Guga (right) and Serginho (left) have a gay storyline in the show.

Eastenders: Ben (left) and Callum’s (right) storyline has begun this year.

Neighbours: David (right) and Aaron (left) aka husbands still in the soap.

REALITY SHOWS

Queer Eye: five gay guys helping others. Season 3, 4 and a special have aired this year.

Are You the One?: for the first time in the show’s history, season 8 of this dating reality show had an all-sexually fluid cast this year. Which means mlm and wlw and anything else. Really fun show.

MOVIES

Benjamin: don’t even remember what the movie was about but I rec because it was cute and I mean hello Merlin.

Boy Erased: homosexuality and religion. Has a Troye Sivan in it. Very decent movie.

And Then We Danced: my favorite gay movie of this year. All the things they had to do to be able to film this in homophobic Georgia (the country)... just wow. It’s a must-watch.

Who Would You Take to a Deserted Island?: didn’t know what to expect from this movie. It is based on a play and it shows. Watch and be the judge of it. The acting was really highlight of the movie.

This Is Not Berlin: hasn’t seen it yet since it was just officially released. But it is included in an LGBT+ section so... hopefully they didn’ lie.

Rocketman: movie about Elton John with Taron Egerton and Richard Madden... I mean, phew.

Un Rubio (The Blonde One): gonna watch this, apparently it’s amazing based on what some of my mutuals have said.

The Death and Life of John F. Donovan: Jon Snow being gay and kissing Chris Zylka. Made by Xavier Dolan. A literal tripple threat. Genuinely enjoyed the movie and the soundtrack.

Ranchlands: haven’t seen this but my friend said it’s amazing.

Steam Room Stories: this movie was something... Eating Out levels of ‘I-’ but without all the sex. I guess watch this if you are bored.

Posledice (Consequences): very spicy and intriguing movie. Slovenia snapped with this one.

Papi Chulo: didn’t like this movie and the concept of it but... you can check out and see for yourself.

Dolor y gloria (Pain and Glory): Antonio Banderas kissing a man. Hopefully it really is a gay-related movie because I haven’t seen it yet.

Die Stropers (The Harvesters): brilliant cinematography but I expected much more from the movie.

Giant Little Ones: what happens when you’re into your best friend’s sister but the best friend gives you a BJ. Well... watch and see.

Kanarie (Canary): a war musical about a small town boy who gets chosen to serve his compulsory two year military training in the South African Defence Force Choir and Concert. Loved the involvement of the Boy George music, aesthetic and story. One of my favorites this year. 

Luciérnagas (Fireflies): haven’t seen it yet but the description says that the main gay character (right) “flees from persecution in Iran and ends up living in the tropical town of Veracruz.”

El Angel: haven’t seen it but apparently there are some implications it was lowkey gay... so yeah.

Dear Ex: from wiki “San Lian was devastated when she discovered her late ex-husband left his insurance payout to his male partner Ah Jie. She decided to bring her son to fight for their rights, but her son instead chose to stand on the other person's side.” Will watch this soon, sounds interesting.

Sauvage: one of the best gay movies this year. Don’t know how to describe it so let me copy paste the description “ Léo is a sex worker who uses drugs whilst longing for love.”

Sócrates: haven’t seen it yet as it was just released.

Marilyn: story about a farm worker who discovers his sexuality in a hostile environment. Didn’t see it since someone has told me there are some scenes that are really HARD to stomach and I ain’t about that life.

Les Crevettes pailletées (The Shiny Shrimps): the movie is about an Olympic swimming champion who makes a homophobic comment in a television interview, and is disciplined by the national swim team with the responsibility of coaching a gay water polo team who aspire to compete in the Gay Games. Sounds and looks like an amazing comedy and can’t wait to watch it when I will be able to.

Fin de siglo (End of the Century): it’s not out yet as far as I know, but it’s about two men who meet in Barcelona and realize they have met already 20 years ago.

Matthias et Maxime: another excellence by Xavier Dolan. Story about life-long friends who question their sexual identities after they kiss. Looks amazing and I can’t wait for it to get released finally.

The Goldfinch: not a gay movie, but I’ve seen many people considering it as LGBT+ cinema because of the book and you know what, they kissed after all so you can perceive it beyond friendship if you want. If not, then just skip it. I feel like it is worth mentioning it tho.

Mapplethorpe: movie is about the life of photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. Didn’t see it but Doctor Who plays him so there’s that.

UPCOMING

TV SHOWS

9-1-1: Lone Star: The spin-off of a popular show 9-1-1 by Ryan Murphy is premiering 19th of January 2020. It’s confirmed that the main character TK (a firefighter, left) will be romantically involved with the main character Carlos (a police officer, right). The show will also have a main trans man.

Love, Simon: The Series: A Disney+ Love, Simon spin-off is on its way and will premiere in 2020. The series will follow Victor (right) and his coming-out story at the same high school where Love, Simon took place. Didn’t find a photo with his love interest. The guy on the left will most likely be his enemy.

First Mexican Telenovela That Will Star Gay Couple In Leading Role

Juntos El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca, which translates to Together The Heart is Never Wrong, is coming this June to the Spanish-language television network. A gay couple will lead the series, for the first time ever in Univision's history.

Joaquín Bondoni plays Cuauhtémoc and Emilio Osorio plays Aristóteles, the fan favorite couple from another popular telenovela, Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia (My Husband Has More Family).

Known by viewers as Aristemo (Aristóteles + Temo), fans loved the couple so much that the two got their own spin off!

The show is premiering in Mexico, and in the U.S on Tv Network Las Estrellas.

Hello, in Mexico this year a couple of gay teens was introduced in a very famous telenovela, a lot of people loved them and started a fandom, that couple is Aristemo, their story is about how Temo Lopez met Aristoteles Corcega and fell in love, even tho being two gay teenagers wasn't easy on a society like Mexico but they fought for they love and now they have their own show called "El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca" where we can see the love story continue.

Unfortunately reality sometimes overcomes fiction and now their story is facing the homophobic public eye. Aristemo, the name that our fandom gave the ship, has a lot of fans but it has more haters. Their spin off started this week and hasn't had the rating it deserves. The fandom is worried what this could mean to representation on Public TV shows on Mexico, because this country has never seen a series starring a gay couple and the possibility of it being a flop could just make things harder for the representation of LGBT+ characters on the media sending the message that people dont want to watch gay characters starring a show. So I'm here doing spam (sorry) asking you to please give this story a try. On my blog you can find where to watch the full story with English Subtitles and also find a video resuming all the story. Maybe it's not the best you have seen but their story its talking about various issues like homophobia, bullying in the school for their sexual orientation, family not supporting you, getting in terms with your sexuality and in general facing the world being gay on Mexico. Sending the right message by the story of Aristemo have been recognized for the community in Mexico and in the world, winning a GLAAD award this year

In streaming services, the internet, and even in traditional TV, there is an increase in characters from the LGBTTTI community

This 2019 will mark 41 years of struggle for the rights of the LGBTTTI community in Mexico City and in that time only a couple of television productions have ventured to tell stories about sexual diversity on national TV.

It was addressed in 2010 when a national melodrama touched on the topic in "Las Aparicio", a soap opera in which Erendira Ibarra (Mariana Almada) and Liz Gallardo (Julia Aparicio) played a gay couple.

It took eight years for the telenovela "Mi marido tiene familia" to show a gay teen couple falling in love and living their story in the midst of acceptance but also the rejection of those around them.

The success of the now phenomenon called “Aristemo” was imminent and led to a spinoff that became a series with this duo as the protagonists.

At the same time Juliantina emerged, the name given to the couple created by Valentina (Macarena Achaga) and Juliana (Bárbara López) in "Amar a muerte".

What is needed so that diversity becomes standard on Mexican television? Visibility. At least that's what Bárbara López believes.

"The more productions there are on TV with diversity the more we can normalize it, because it has been proven what we don’t see or what is hidden causes disapproval. The important thing is to talk about it so from that we can begin to be more tolerant," López told EL UNIVERSAL.

That Billy Rovzar announced that he will make Juliantina the movie is the result of the success that same-sex couples have had on Mexican screens.

Juliantina were not the main characters, but they managed to exceed the popularity of the love story between Angelique Boyer and Michel Brown.

"He always talked about what he wanted to do and the public asked for it.  In the end the decision was made for a film, we want to give the public what they deserve to return all the love they give us," she said.

Although Barbara knows that stories such as the one she portrays help fight against hatred and homophobia, she also knows that it is not easy and has been targeted by the hatred of those who do not agree with these kinds of stories.

"In the beginning, I responded to the hate messages but the fans asked why I wasn’t answering them but the hatred instead. The fans have helped me to realize the responsibility that this character has brought me, for me it’s had great consequences and a great impact, for that reason I am willing to do whatever is necessary to continue spreading this message of inclusion."

For the actress and daughter of the producer Reynaldo López, series, telenovelas or movies should not have labels and that's what she says she will look to accomplish in the movie.

"We shouldn’t have to be pigeonholed, it is important to not only talk about homosexuality, we have to talk about all the stories. In reality (Juliantina) is a plot that seeks to unite all the public and not a particular one. We do not necessarily like to be based on cliches. in love there are no cliches and that is exactly what this is about,” she said.

Aristemo se despide de la televisión

Un gran proyecto llega a su fin. Aristemo fue la pareja que inició ésta apertura en la televisión mexicana. La serie no fue perfecta y si, tuvo demasiados errores, pero fue la primera en tratar éstos temas. Extrañaré muchísimo a Ari y Temo, y espero que nunca los olvidemos y sigamos con su legado.

TV: Brunol

México tiene a su Aristemo, Argentina a su Blasnior, ¿por qué la tv catalana no puede tener una dupla adolescente gay? Provenientes de “Merlí”(2015-2018), la serie que ha conmovido a televidentes argentinos, a tal punto que el creador Héctor Lozano y una de las estrellas, Carlos Cuevas presentaron el libro “Cuando fuimos los peripatéticos” en la Feria del Libro de Bueno Aires en 2019.

Que tu padre sea Merlí Bergerón Calduch (Francesc Orella), el profesor más amado de la secundaria André Guimerá, no garantiza que tenerlo en casa sea una fiesta. Bruno (David Solans) se ve obligado a convivir con él y con su abuela Carmina (Anna M. Barbany) cuando su madre se va a Roma y, claro está, las rencillas no tardan en salir a la luz. Pese a la naturaleza abierta de Merlí y Carmina, el muchacho mantiene su homosexualidad y su amor por Pol Rubio (Cuevas), el chico malo del Guimerá, en el área de lo estrictamente privado. 

Claro que Pol, además de ser el mejor alumno de las clases de Filosofía que ofrece Merlí, es un alma libre que no gusta de etiquetarse: tan pronto se enrolla con alguna chica del colegio o con la madre de un amigo como con algún compañero de trabajo o incluso con el mismo Bruno en alguna ocasión. Si la cosa prospera, ese será un tema que tendrás que descubrir por ti mismo.

Vale decir que la temática LGTBQ no culmina con este par: a las clases se les suman el festivo Oliver Grau (Iñaki Mur) otro compañero gay que lo ayudará a aceptarse a sí mismo y una profesora trans (Quima, interpretada por Manel Barceló).

Son tres temporadas, ya disponibles en Netflix, en las que, a lo largo de cuarenta capítulos nos lleva a conocer el mundo de la filosofía, la intrincada red de emociones, debilidades y contradicciones humanas y a cambiar nuestro concepto sobre la aventura de ser humano. Una serie imprescindible y, si se quiere, terapéutica que tendrá su próxima continuación en “Merlí: Sapere Aude”, realizado para Movistar+.

So by now I think we all have seen the ending of Juntos El Corazon Nunca Se Equivoca. Now, my thoughts/what I wanted to see in the finale (based on my list & see if it happened).

Matiego finally happened!! 

Not only was it confirmed but we also got this cute kiss scene! Let this ship called Matiego sail away ⛵ (huge thanks to @toomanyshipsxx for making me this gif 😊)

We finally got that breath taking kiss we have been waiting for and I loved it! It was similar to the kiss from Mi Marido Tiene Mas Familia BUT WAY BETTER! Thank you for giving us another kiss we can talk about for a long time!

3. Special moment?

We really didn't get another "special moment" like the one in ep. 11 but we did get this cute little scene (couldn't find a gif so here is a picture instead-I took the screenshot myself)

4. The future?

Well we didn't see much of their future plans (As I would have liked) but we did see Ari getting back on stage & performing with Temo. As for Temo, he is becoming an activist.

They didn't get married but we did get a dream wedding. So maybe by season 2 (Juan Osorio did confirm more Aristemo) we will get that wedding, we all have been waiting for 👬

They haven't become dads yet but I hope they will one day ( in the future new season/novela).

As for the rest of the cast/characters. Well, I guess we will have to wait for the next season or next novela. But remember, there is mas familia coming!

La serie is now over but we are left with so many cute/lovable scenes. I think in a year or so, Aristemo will be back but better than before!

Aristemo spin-off: El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca.

Hoy hubo una lectura del guión del primer episodio del spin-off, y varios fans que estuvieron presentes dieron a conocer esta información. Además las cuentas oficiales de Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia y de Aristemo: El Musical subieron algunos videos en donde también se pueden escuchar algunas líneas de lo que se leyó del guión.

Cosas generales que sabemos hasta el momento sobre Aristemo, la serie: El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca.

Aristóteles y Cuautémoc tiene 18 años.

Ari y Temo van a vivir en un condominio en la calle Roma, en la Ciudad de México.

Van a dormir en la misma habitación (y en la misma cama, obvio jaja)

Van a tener roomies: una chica llamada Carlota y nada más y nada menos que nuestro Diego Ortega (mejor amigo de Temo).

Además de Carlota, habrá un personaje de otro chico de nombre Mateo.

Aristóteles, Temo, Diego y Carlota van a asistir a la misma universidad.

Aris y Diego estudian la Licenciatura en Comunicación.

 Estas son cosas más generales, pero hay muchísima información sobre el primer episodio. Solo digan si quieren que también postee eso.

There was an event today where the writers of the spin-off read the script of the first episode and some fans who were present made this information known. Also, the official accounts of Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia and Aristemo: The Musical uploaded some videos where some lines of what was read from the script can be heard.

General things that we know so far about Aristemo, la serie: El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca:

Aristóteles and Cuautémoc are 18.

Ari and Temo are going to live in a condominium on Roma Street, in Mexico City.

They’re going to sleep in the same bedroom (and in the same bed, obviously haha)

They’ll have roomies: a girl named Carlota and our guy Diego Ortega (Temo’s best friend).

There’ll be another character called Mateo.

Aristóteles, Temo, Diego and Carlota will go to the same university.

Aris and Diego are studying a degree in Communication.

 These are general things about the spin-off but there is a lot of information about the first episode. Just tell me if you want me to post that too.

#SomosAristemo no #SomosEmliaco

Recientemente he visto en distintos medios de comunicación y de difusión por internet como algun@s de l@s fans de Aristemo hacen mucho enfasis en que Emiliaco, término para nombrar una posible relacion amorosa entre Emilio Osorio Marcos y Joaquin Bondoni, sea real.

Personalmente no estoy a favor de como se esta estableciendo este fanatismo por Emiliaco, ni la insistencia del publico ni de los difusores de contenido por desenmascarar si existe o no una relacion entre ambos actores. A continuación mis razones para mi punto de vista:

1. El concepto de Aristemo es un fenómeno que nos permitió a las personas que nos identificamos como (mayoritariamente) gay, contar con un nuevo modelo de representación LGBT+ cercano a la cultura mexicana y latinoamericana. Si bien ha habido personajes homosexuales en otras producciones mexicanas de cine y televisión, considero que esta es historica porque al ser transmitida por TV abierta se convirtio en un ejemplo facilmente accesible para la mayoria de los estratos de la sociedad en la que se representa una historia de amor gay entre dos hombres ADOLESCENTES. Si bien no todos los fans de ATISTEMO somos adolescentes, el hecho de que la representación de diversidad sexual en la televisión abierta sea tan accesible para tod@s permite continuar el cambio de los paradigmas sociales heteronormativos de nuestra sociedad. He aqui donde entra mi descontento hacia Emiliaco, pues Aristemo y Emiliaco no es lo mismo. Aristemo es exclusivamente la representacion de amor de dos personajes de una produccion televisiva, y si son Joaquin y Emilio los que encarnan estos personajes o no, es ajeno al concepto de Aristemo. Por lo tanto, porque tendriamos que exigir, aspirar o desear que los actores, cuya unica funcion es darle vida a los personajes a traves de su arte, conformen tambien una pareja?

2. Joaquin y Emilio son menores de edad, adolescentes de 16 años, por lo que cualquier indagacion o coercion hacia la vida amorosa y sexual de cada uno de ellos como individuos es una postura depredadora, asi como la hipersexualizacion de su cuerpo y su expresion de género, principalmente de aquellos adultos, fans o productores de contenido, que ansían saber si se gustan, si andan, si han tenido sexo, cual es su orientación, su identidad de genero, que ropa usan y por qué, etc. Retomando el punto anterior, ellos son actores e independientemente del acceso que tengamos a la historia de sus personajes, ellos siguen siendo individuos, menores de edad, con todo el derecho a su privacidad y autonomia sexual, fuera del reflector.

3. Uno de los factores más importantes del fenomeno de Aristemo, es que durante las transmisiones de ambas telenovelas en las que fueron presentados y caracterizados, estos personajes fueron apenas sexualizados, si bien ambos Temo y Aris expresan que su orientacion es Homosexual, el mayor conflicto en su sexualidad era cuando y como poder besarse. Las representaciones de actos sexuales fueron limitadas por los creadores de la serie para estos personajes, dando unicamente pistas de esto sin ser enteramente explicitos (ejemplo de esto es que se meten a bañar juntos ambos utilizando traje de baño) en yuxtaposición a personajes adultos dentro de las mismas producciones. Supongo yo que el objetivo no era hacer una representación homoerotica de la experiencia gay, sino demostrar la significancia validez y naturalidad de las relaciones amorosas entre personas del mismo sexo; si este fue el caso, considero que el hecho de que tanto fans como productores y distribuidores de contenido que forzan la indagacion y fanatismo sobre Emiliaco, nublan y merman la importancia del impacto que tuvo Aristemo en la resignificación de paradigmas sobre el amor gay.

4. Es sorprendente la gran cantidad de mujeres, hombres y personaes en general, de todas las edades, que sexualizan a los actores y presionan por manifestaciones de afecto homosexual en apariciones en vivo, programas de entrevistas, etc. Si bien el apoyo a Aristemo creo q es muy valioso, considero que esto es exclusivo de la pantalla y se debe de recordar que en esta o cualquier relacion de pareja en cualquiera de sus configuraciones, las manifestaciones de afecto de cualquier tipo son para las personas que la conforman, no es un circo ni un espectaculo por el cual el observador debe de obtener placer sexual.

Si bien creo que Emilio Marcos Osorio y Joaquin Bondoni son personas altamente accesibles y amables hacia sus grupos de fans, cabe destacar que cuando hacen apariciones utilizando los nombres de sus personajes, Aristoteles y Cuauhtemoc, es justo con el propósito de poder separar su identidad personal de la de sus personajes.

Aristemo ha sido un movimiento de representacion cultural que dejará huella en la cultura mexicana y latinoamericana y que nos ha abierto a muchos la posibilidad de construir y buscar mejores condiciones sociales para vivir de manera plena y feliz como miembros de la comunidad LGBT+, sin embargo, esto no ata de manera obligatoria a los actores a vivir su vida de la misma manera que los guionistas decidieron que sus personajes lo hicieran, no intentemos obligarlos a esto y demosles la libertad, de construir la vida que quieran de manera privada y autonoma.
