Hi! With your stargazers au, what radio symbols do you use with Alastor's powers? What do those symbols mean and is there some special thought behind choices in symbols?

Keen eye! They're actually various electrical symbols for radio stations and are NOT VOODOO at all. As I'm not a practitioner of the Vaudoux religion, I didn't feel qualified enough to represent their practices all willy nilly. Though Alastor is still very much an actual Creole Vodouisant who lived in New Orleans Louisiana in my #HHStargazersAU! This design choice for his magic came to mind when I realized that since I couldn't use the more natural voodoo deer side of him, I could just shift focus to his more electronic radio hosting aspect. Which actually had symbolisms of their own! Be it his radio symbols or sound waves. Pictograms that were likely used on signs, books, or instructions, and such. That's how his green spells came to be in my story and they're usually just the general symbols for radio! ^v^

Hello there its been a while since you heard anything from me eh? Well I’ve been busy with life and stuff, also Palworld is a massive distraction but that’s neither here nor there, but on more important news I’m making progress on the ASOOT Video Game draft idea. Inspiration struck me so I’m not only getting the writing out of the way but also the drawings of the various enemies and bosses.

And as a sneak peak, here’s one of the enemies, a early Quantum enemy I call the Clock Roach. You see enemies are divided into variious categories and as you can imagine Quantum enemies are in the vast majority of dungeons due to the very nature of the Quantum Zone. Its easier the list the dungeons they don’t appear in which off the top of my head is two and they’re tutorial dungeons.

All Quantum enemies will be based on various time travel concepts and tropes. I figured the Clock Roach is a good weak early enemy for Hajime and co to squish. Though as you would imagine from a loathsome insect they have some decent evasion, especially on higher difficulties. As the game progresses, they will phase out as bigger, nastier Quantum enemies come along. (I’ve been eying a certain beast from the Cthulhu Mythos which is said to hunt time travellers which would make a fantastic mid-late game enemy.)

Anyway this your enemy sneak peak. My next sneak peak is of a more important character, but this is something to whet your appetite before the draft comes out. Hope to see you all soon! - Review Anon

yeah, streets are saying that he lets his glasses fog up when he's got his mouth between your legs and gets really annoyed by it, but doesn't stop because he's got his tongue is a particular sweet spot and doesn't wanna spot tasting, even if he can't see :/

Your process videos really ruined your art for me. I like your concepts but you're just painting over photographs and it's... weird. You don't seem to change anything to be uniquely 'yours'... just painting over photomanips which doesn't come across as genuine, especially considering the contrast between your photomanip illustrations and freehand work. Have you thought about working more on references and actual studies?

been thinking about how to answer this for a couple minutes now so here we go

What I do is a variation of photobashing-- really just painting over photos to achieve realism. After everything is rendered to how I want it (I usually take out a lot of extraneous details from backgrounds), I stop using the reference photos to do my own lighting, effects, etc. Small details to create the ambience that the base photos don't have.

I definitely get what you're saying here because I've seen other realism artists get variations of this same ask. My particular paintings rely on this uncanny realism that I can't reproduce as effectively when I eyeball things (especially perspective). The "weird" is part of it. I could just do a photomanip but instead I meticulously painted over every detail instead--what does this add? What does it take away? Do my hours of effort mean anything when I'm just "painting over photographs"?

Anyways, when I do traditional art, everything is drawn by eyeballing. I do lots of studies digitally and traditionally.

Yes and thank you. Rn we're going over the manuscript for kinks after that it's being rewritten entirely. It's been a slow process this semester it's been.... Rough. But at least I graduate in May and my portfolio exhibit is next week so I'll be free to write soon

33. have you taken a lot of classes for art?

not really! i took standard art classes offered in grade and highschool and attended less than a year of college in pursuit of an art degree.

...and then i realized college was kinda bullshit and dropped out. <- (this is awesome and i'm proud to be a college dropout and i'm not joking) BUT! i had *one* really cool professor who loved anime and had a fursona and they are massively the reason i didn't give up on art as a career.

i'm a strong believer in the internet having almost any class/tutorial/guide that you can think of for Free, so nowadays i'll watch youtube vids or look at free classes to try and hone my skillz
