fun fact of the day. right before final exams my brain decided to revisit and subsequently absolutely hyperfixate onto my most beloved obsession from childhood. (it has been sitting in the deep darks of my mind throughout the years, occasionally resurfacing like back in 2020 for obvious reasons but only now the phase hit me hard lmao)
so anyway here are some Artemis Fowl doodles that i doodled in the microsoft note app when i was not busy crying over chemistry lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
anyway i would like to formally thank artemis fowl for holding my hand thru my maturita and keeping me afloat in these trying times hahhhha i even bought as a motivation a shirt from redbubble (i love it so much) and a copy of the first book from the new reprint line (the funky purple one) bcuz i just had to have it even tho i already have the full old first print from childhood but oh well-

Some of the Original Movies Disney+ & Hulu Removed are Available to Purchase Digitally
If you didn't know, earlier this year Disney+ & Hulu followed a trend of removing a bunch of originals from their services in a cost cutting measure. Since those were pieces of original content, you couldn't watch them anywhere else. But now 12 of the 15 movies they removed can be bought on digital storefronts like Amazon and Apple. Those movies are:
Artemis Fowl
Better Nate Than Ever
Cheaper by the Dozen (2022)
Clouds
Crater
Darby and the Dead
Flora and Ulysses
Hollywood Stargirl
The One and Only Ivan
The Princess
Rosaline
Stargirl
Trevor the Musical, Magic Camp, & Black Beauty (2020) are still unavailable.
When you buy a movie digitally, you don't technically own it. You own the right to stream that film as long as it is available on the platform you bought from. So if these are delisted from digital storefronts, you won't have access to them. UNLESS you download them. If you download a movie you've purchased (not rented) it stays downloaded even if the title is delisted. I had that happen with a movie I bought on iTunes but since I had it downloaded to an external hard drive, I could still watch it.
Physical media is always the best way to preserve media, but considering you couldn't watch these AT ALL and now you can this is definitely a win. And the more money these movies make on digital storefronts, the more its creators will make with residuals.
TL;DR - 12 movies Disney removed from streaming services can now be bought digitally and that's good.

Life/project update
I'll try to keep this as positive but as honest as I can.
I finished school in March for computer programming, but job searching is on hold because I got an offer to traditionally publish my Fissure comic. Because of the format and low resolution of the original comic, it has to be completely redrawn, but I'm taking this opportunity to also add some panels for context. The goal is for this short-run comic to come out in issues in 2024.
As a result of this ^, I've taken work off for the summer so I can devote all the time I can to the comic. Also, almost all other side projects have gone on the back burner. For example, I do want to come back to the Artemis Fowl Otome Game and do something with the concept, because I love it and the characters we created. However, I don't have the creative or emotional capacity atm.
Really, it's everything I can do right now to not curl up into a ball and wait for life to be over. I thought it would help if I got rid of some of the perceived pressure I'm feeling which is intimidating me into a vegetative state.
I'm really excited about this comic, though. I loved making it the first time (I did most of the work in quarantine 2020), and am excited to revisit it and release it in hard copy form.
Side note, the comic is about two black-presenting (one is an alien) people, and I am not black, so I'm looking for a black person who'd be interested in looking over the copies for inconsistencies in art (as far as the characters are concerned) and sensitivity issues. I don't anticipate many, since the comic is short and close knit, but I also don't want to assume. If you're interested, please shoot me a message and we'll talk!
Thank you for reading, so some of the imagined pressure I feel might be lessened.

Over his first two decades in film, Branagh’s signature work was Shakespearean, beginning with his 1989 directorial debut, Henry V.
In this respect, he followed in the footsteps of Laurence Olivier, whose directorial debut was his wartime Henry V (1944), and Orson Welles, another wunderkind with Shakespearean credentials.
Olivier and Welles created three Shakespeare films apiece. Branagh has, so far, directed five: Henry V, Much Ado about Nothing (1993), Hamlet (1996), Love’s Labour’s Lost (2000) and As You Like It (2006)...Even Branagh’s self-aggrandising autobiography opens each chapter with lines from Shakespeare.
In addition to courting association with Shakespeare, Branagh’s choices cultivated association with his stage and screen precursors. Like Olivier, he has played both Henry V and Hamlet. Branagh even portrayed Olivier in My Week with Marilyn (2012).
...My PhD, completed in 2009, considered Branagh’s self-fashioning through Shakespeare, little anticipating in the subsequent 13 years he would direct films as disparate as Marvel’s Thor (2011), the Tom Clancy action movie Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014), Disney’s Cinderella (2015), the intimate All is True, children’s fantasy Artemis Fowl (2020), his Poirot trilogy and autobiographical Belfast (2021).
...Branagh genre-hopped even within his Shakespeare films. His dramatic entrance in shadow in Henry V evokes Darth Vader; his arrival on horseback in Much Ado about Nothing summons The Magnificent Seven (2016); the musical numbers in Love’s Labour’s Lost echo classic Hollywood musicals.
Hamlet, in particular, invites association with Hollywood epics. At 242 minutes, it was the longest commercial release since 1963’s Cleopatra, the first 70mm British production since 1970’s Ryan’s Daughter, and shot by Lawrence of Arabia’s focus-puller Alex Thomson.
...The film’s palatial wintry setting recalls Doctor Zhivago, as does Julie Christie’s casting as Gertrude. Charlton Heston’s casting evokes his popular biblical epics. Placing Hamlet’s “How all occasions” soliloquy before intermission mirrors Gone with the Wind’s famous pre-intermission speech.
Branagh’s staging of Hamlet’s “To be or not to be” monologue even suggests Taxi Driver, where anti-hero Travis Bickle likewise fantasises dangerous courses of action before a mirror.

you liked smth on my sideblog and my heart sank just a little bit at the "wastaken" i thought u might've been insane. move that disclaimer to the top of ur pinned or smth idk /all light hearted don't take me seriously
XD Honey, you don’t spend over 10 years in a fandom waiting for a movie, have it go through years of development issues, find out it’s being made by Disney, and still expect it to be good when it gets released in 2020 if you’re a sane person. (The Artemis Fowl fandom was robbed and so was Eoin Colfer. We demand justice for our crime boi!)
That being said, I technically have been a regular fan of cc!Dream since his manhunt days when it was just him, George, and Sapnap, and I do still follow him.
Just not a stan tho, which I’m assuming you’re still a little nervous of since you asked anonymously. Totally fair, tbh. Some of that behavior is way creepy for my taste. I prefer my creepy to be like Nexpo, Wendigoon, and the SCP Foundation, thanks.
Also, I would check my fanfics before calling me not insane as well. Mixing three fandoms and an original work into a crossover’s gotta fall on that scale somewhere lol.
So I am probably insane, just not the kind you’re thinking of. Yay! :D

WHAT MOVIE
ARTEMIS FOWL (2020)……. buddy it was SO fucking bad i cant even begin with it. i mean i COULD but it would be paragraphs on paragraphs you did not ask for, anon. in short, it was a heinously bad adaptation of a book series i loved FIERCELY as a kid (for the first five anyway) - had the fourth book signed! - and it was also just not a good movie on its own. they took everything i particularly loved about the book and massacred it so thoroughly that it felt like it had to be deliberately mocking the book or else how could they have so specifically fucked it That Bad. hoo boy. couldn’t survive it.
