anyone noticed that the intro for season 2 is a continuation of the opening of season 1? the first opening ends with judgement day, with everyone jumping and going to heaven or to hell

except that judgement day never came. the apocalypse was averted.

this is the very start of the second opening, and so here they arrive at the ledge on the other side. i also love how crowley climbs up and aziraphale flies down. i just thought this was very clever of the creators of the show

artchiu/ w0nkk0 - discovered her on youtube and really resonated with what she had to say and her sketchbook tours. also her stickers are soooooo cute

gretel lusky - such an amazing artist, her traditional work and draw with me's are really inspirational! got me to explore more traditional media =)

loish - been following her art journey since like 2012 and her workshop is amazing (and free!) i need her to drop her photoshop brushes tho. fr.

kelsey animations - literally binged her entire sketchbook tours jfc i love her sketchbook tours just really inspired by her oc work no matter how cringe!!!

suqling - literally the reason why i wanted to start painting digitally. ive been following them for years and they are one of my biggest inspos! still study their work today and always visit their page

johto_doll - my good irl friend who literally was my stepping stone to pick up traditonal media again. i was so inspired when she showed me her millions and millions of sketchbooks ;_; she's always giving me advice on pens/paper/sketchbooks and her character work is just (chef's kiss) she takes commissions rn so go commission her!!!!

This happened to me 3 times I think, or maybe 4? 3 or 4 artists i know like my posts. I see a name that i recognise and I go "NO FUCKING WAY!!! THEM?!?!?! OH MY GOD!!!!" And then i see the same artist like MULTIPLE POSTS and i get the friggen giggles.

It's like getting noticed by a celebrity istg. These highly skilled people are out here making bangers, getting hundreds and thousands of likes, and they come over here and give ME a like?! I feel so honored....

I'm getting art for Abby Commissioned!!

I've commissioned art from @an-overgrown-greenhouse and even before it's finished I've already learned a lot from them about character design.

I had a very solid idea of Abby's style and outfit in my head before commissioning them but when he sent me his own idea for what she could look like I just immediately thought "Wow that is Abby. That is her so much more than what I had down as her."

I was so excited about it. More importantly though, xe talked with me about her design and when xe drew a rough draft of the original idea I had for her outfit I realised even though the outfit made sense and was detailed, it was dark, dull, flat. It didn't suit the bright and loud and loving person that Abby is!

It made her look like she's the kind of person who broods on a regular basis. She looked mean, and that's just not who she is.

Again thank you so much @an-overgrown-greenhouse for taking my commission and seeing the vision with Abby better than I did at first. You have been so amazing so far and I'm so excited to see how it turns out.

The final design will be posted here once I have it, probably after a few hours of being super excited about it since I intend to make a full post talking about her new design. (Though there's every chance that I just go "MY DAUGHTER!!!!!!!!!!!!" and then repost it 7 times because I love her so much.)

I have yet to come across a bad human design for any MLP characters. Even the weird official ones for the Equestria Girls toys look good and of course the fans all draw some tremendously amazing works. Though I think that no matter how varied the designs are, the skin tones, heights, weights, outfits and so on, they are all still clearly the character they are supposed to be. I don’t even need to read the description saying stuff like “this is my take on Rarity”. It just is her.

Same goes for SU, but I just don’t see as wide of variety applied to the gems. Even when given a more human sized frame Pearl is still the thin one, for example. Still beautiful and I love her, but I just find it weird how those human designs tend to be more set on sticking to a set scale while MLP artists can vary wildly while still keeping the characters easily recognizable.

Sticking to the Rarity example. I’ve seen art where she looks like she barely weighs 90 pounds wet and others where she’s above 200, yet she maintains everything that makes the character who she is. Chic, elegant, beautiful, well dressed and an air of practiced sophistication. Doesn’t matter what the individual artists prefer, they all manage to keep the characters recognizable and looking great.

So this long winded ramble, so to type, is just a way of me saying that there are a lot of great artists out there and that they understand the characters very well.
