I really love your work and was wondering if you could do a mm Mikey x reader who is like really involved in the fine arts? (Stuff like singing, dancing, and acting) Maybe reader does musical theatre or songwriting? Is on the dance team? Or maybe on the improve team with him? It’s up to you but I just think it’d be really cute!
Thank You!🫶
OMG HERE IT IS REAL AND ACTUAL CONTENT
I'm sorry this took so long, I've been kinda busy trying to figure college out these past few days and also I've been busy in general (and depressed but that's not too important)
anyway I thought this was a very cute idea (you might be able to tell by how much I wrote)
here you go! hope you enjoy ❤️
Mikey first met you after joining the improv club at school
You two didn’t hang out much outside of school, just having a class or two together
But being in an environment like that, you get to know someone pretty fast
Performing in skits and plays together, you and Mikey got to know each other a lot better
Then you started hanging out in class more
It wasn’t long before you two hit it off
Being the two goofballs you were, you bounced off of each other
You two were the class clowns in school
The comedy duo that everyone knew
Soon enough, your friendship started reaching outside of school
Mikey invited you to the sewers, or you invited him to your house, or you two just met up somewhere in between
It didn’t matter to you guys, you always had fun
But one day Mikey found himself feeling a little different
Nothing was wrong, but everything you did made him feel like he wanted to be even closer to you
So that he did
He started being overall more affectionate
He gave you more hugs, held your hand while walking places, asking if you needed to talk about anything
He didn’t think much of it
He was just trying to show you he cared more
But little did he know you took it as something different
Part of being a good dancer and actor was being able to express yourself with emotions
Being in dance for such a long time, you were very in tune with your emotions
So when Mikey started being more affectionate, you returned the favor
But Mikey made the same mistake you did
So now you both thought that the other one had a crush on you
~~~~~~~
“Hey Mikey! How’ve you been?” You said, waving as you greeted him.
“Oh, I’m doing good! How about you?”
“Same here, but I actually have something I’ve been meaning to talk to you about…”
“You know, me too.”
“Say it at the same time?”
“You already know it! Okay, 1, 2, 3…”
“Do you have a crush on me?”
You both stared at each other, dumbfounded.
“Wait…huh?”
“I thought you…”
An awkward silence filled the air, waiting for something to be said. Mikey was the one to break the silence.
“Well…do you?”
“No…do you?”
“Nope. But…since we both thought we did…”
“Are you suggesting we start dating?” You finished his thought.
“Only if you want to. I don’t want to force you.”
“I mean, we pretty much already are. How many people do you think have thought we were dating?”
“Probably a lot.” He laughed. “Well, I guess it’s official now. So…can I say I love you now?”
“You were always allowed to do that, silly.”
“Oh.”
This week on Ensemble News
Tumblr media
A popular blog, @.katsuhiras, receives an anonymous attack under the pseudonym of "ribbon anon". The attacks last over almost a week and are rooted on the hatred of a popular enstars character.
Fans speculate about the possible second half of the current, foreign exclusive, bridal scout. Speculations conclude on the possible characters available in this new scout, the "white swans"
The anonymous attack to user "katsuhiras"
WARNING: This article contains mentions of violence, death threats and other similar topics. Proceed with caution.
The past day, May 30, a popular blog known as katsuhiras, who's fame in the enstars community comes from their editing abilities and icon requests, received a strange ask from an anonymous user in one of their requests.
Tumblr media
This ask felt awkward enough for the community and followers of the editing blog to start discussing the topic. As it felt pretentious and just plainly weird to make such a request in a public blog.
But this was just the beginning of it. This anonymous user, who always signed their messages with a ribbon motif which made them win the name of "ribbon anon", continued to send repeated hate and to make strange demands to katsuhiras blog. Fortunately, this topic was taken with humor at the beginning.
Regarding the censorship of the Rei Sakuma layout, Katsuhiras did fullfil the request in a funny, comical way; changing their layout more than one time to accommodate everyone's "needs".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The issue escalated when "ribbon anon" started crossing a limit, by sending death threats, insults and just plain harassment to the admin and presumably to other blogs.
"it is 100% weird though when it's so easy to curate your own space on here. I am assuming the reason I wasn't blocked instantly is because they like the non-rei edits but if rei is such a dealbreaker, just find someone else who posts edits and art you like...?" (Katsuhiras via Tumblr) ¹
(delicate content) Some of the threats are included the following images:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the current time, Katsuhira's inbox is completely closed, as they've stated their will to stop this situation that even trespassed and became stalking.
"official announcement: I don’t want my inbox to keep breaking + don’t wanna be subjected to more dumbass monologues from our dear failed theatre kid ribbon, + I have a lot of requests to fill anyway so my inbox is just fully closed for now" (Katsuhiras via Tumblr) ²
They also decided to add a couple of information, like the fact that they received 38 messages from ribbon alone overnight and that despite having blocked them three times, the anon didn't decide to seize.
We send our entire support to katsuhiras and hope this situation settles down soon. On a same note, we do not condone any type of violence directed towards anyone involved in this case.
The white swan, potential scout
Because of the recent release of the "black swan" scout in the foreign servers, fans have been speculating of the possibilities of a second part, as it's well known that foreign scouts tend to have more than one part as seen in multiple occasions before.
The most important clue the fandom has encountered has to do with the black swan/white swan motifs found in the collab page. As it's stated that StarMaker Production falls under the category of black swans, meanwhile, Cosmic Production falls in the category of white swans.
Tumblr media
As for the characters that the scout may feature, it is currently unknown, however, a user ¹ has pointed out some of the possibilities.
Himeru, Kohaku — Crazy:B
2wink
Shu — Valkyrie
Jun, Ibara — Eden
The list features character that haven't gotten any limited time overseas card, which makes the chances higher for them.
Of course, nothing is set in stone, so we'll have to wait.
Omgosh firstly thank you so much! Also, neurodivergent forensic science besties?! Anyways, I hope you like it!!
Your matchup is. . . Ticci Toby!
While hanging out at a mall one Friday night, security comes over to your friend group and informs you that the mall’s closing up and you need to leave.
Not even realizing the time, you huff in a bit of annoyance because of how much fun you were having there and reluctantly leave with your friends. Once you’re back outside, the friend who drove you all there leads you back to their car.
You guys talk about your favorite purchases and other stores you wish you had the time to hit before getting kicked out for the night, but soon enough you grow a little carsick and decide to watch the horizon outside the car.
Rolling down the window, you rest your cheek in your hand tiredly and stare out into the foggy woods boredly until you spot a flash of orange. A lanky boy with brown hair poking his head out from behind a pine tree waves and you gasp in surprise.
Turning back to look at your friends, you interrupt them frantically, pointing out the window to where you saw the boy, only to see nothing. “You guys seriously didn’t see him?!”
They look at each other in confusion before shaking their heads much to your disappointment. You doze off trying to figure out what the guy was doing out there, after all, he seemed pretty young and didn’t have a hunting rifle or anything in his hands.
“[Y/N], you in or what?” one of your friends snaps you out of your thoughts as you hold your gaze on the dense woods as the car continues driving. “Sure, I’m down,” you answer, not knowing what you were now in on, but not really caring either way.
Pulling up to their house, everyone starts to get out and you take your shopping bags before getting out as well. “So, a sleepover?” you find yourself looking all around into the distant darkness with a small lip bite as your friend group stands beside the car under the streetlamp. After a few “yeahs” you all head inside and decide to sleep in their large living room.
Some of your friends set up snacks for a movie while others get pillows and blankets from unoccupied rooms. You try to help out and pitch in, but everyone seems to have things under control and just asks you to pick out a horror movie.
Slumping down on the couch nonchalantly, you scroll through a few movies before hearing a knock at the living room window and shuddering in response. Looking outside, you see the same brunet boy with orange goggles and do a double take as he points to the TV.
Looking back at the screen, you select the horror movie he was gesturing at as he nods excitedly, you return his excitement by mouthing a “thank you” and smiling, although a bit shaken up that he followed you to your friend’s place. He seems harmless, but you contemplate telling your friend at some point that night even if it annoys them.
As the rest of your friends file into the room, you greet them before looking back at the window and seeing that he’s not there anymore. You didn’t know why, but you almost felt upset that he left. After the movie, everyone starts falling asleep and before you know it, you’re the only one awake.
Deciding to bring some of the dishes to the sink for your friend, seeing as they’re sleeping, you hum to yourself softly before hearing another series of light knocks, this time from the window on the far side of the kitchen
Going over to it skeptically, you open it to be met with bright eyes behind those same orange goggles. “H-Hi, I’m Toby…”
You stick your head out the window and reach to shake his gloved hand, “The name’s [Y/N], nice to meet you Toby.”
He hesitates but shakes your hand with a twitch and from there, you two talk for a while, just getting to know each other until you see the sun start to come up.
He lets you go so you can catch some zs and waves goodbye, saying that he’ll see you around with a little wink. You wink back with a small blush; He seems cute.
*
*
*
Random headcanons:
- He found your house when your friend drove you home the next day, but you didn’t know until a week later when he showed up at your back door with a wave.
- You guys don’t take long before confessing; Maybe a month or two of being friends. You both grab each other’s hands, beaming with blushy faces while talking about how it was love at first sight.
- If you ever have plays for your theater classes, he’ll drag Hoodie along to record it for you so he can watch the whole time. Toby definitely cheers the loudest out of the entire crowd at the end, even throwing a bouquet of flowers that he hand-picked from the forest up onto the stage for you to catch!
- You’d both love gaming together in your free time and I can see him convincing you to play Work at a Pizza Place with him on Roblox. Let’s just say this kleptomaniac likes to burn innocent kids in the pizza ovens 💀
- I feel like you’d both cuddle facing each other and he’d enjoy playing with your hair and connect the dots (your freckles) with his fingertip. He might squish your belly or chubby areas, but it’s not in a teasing way! He just loves every inch of you.
- After the first time you surprise him with a cake, Toby would love it so much that he’d ask to help you out the next time you bake. He tries so hard but 100% screws up in tiny ways, which makes him get all shy and cute. You refuse to tell him the frosting’s secret recipe while the cake’s cooling, so he’ll wait right outside the kitchen against the wall so you guys can still talk as you finish up the cake.
- He’d enjoy reading romance mangas with you and you both squeal and kick your feet over the cutesie moments in them together.
- He’ll pick you up cute trinkets from any missions he goes on. They’ll probably have blood on them but he tries to remember to wipe it off before giving them to you.
- If you need someone to look over the lyrics of a song you write or listen to you sing it, Toby is not your best bet if you’re looking for brutally honest constructive criticism. It’s not that he’s dishonest, he just thinks the songs are perfect because you wrote them.
- His kisses are really soft and he likes to kiss all over your face especially. He tries to only use the unscarred side of his lips to peck you despite you not being grossed out about it. Toby’s just trying to be polite to his first girl.
- You guys definitely have deep moments and crying sessions after you find out he’s a killer and he relates to your strong dislike of bigots and hostile people in general.
- He may or may not try to show you caterpillars he finds in hopes of getting you over your fears. If it backfires and you freak out though, he’ll gently put it back and hug you while apologizing profusely.
- Toby absolutely adores the height difference between you guys because you’re only up to the middle of his chest when you two hug!!
Season 2 Ramble#4 - A is for anime (solo reprise) ver.2
Hello Hello Hello and welcome to another episode of MM..MANGA, the podcast about getting more people into more manga.. Incidentally, as you may have guessed from the title, this episode isn’t about manga at all, as this month I focused on manga’s seemingly more popular younger sibling, anime.
Before we get into it, a couple house keeping matters/points of information:
Last season I had some friends on the cast cause I don’t really watch anime like that and different perspectives are invaluable when it comes to any media. Plus I really fw them and the more the merrier. Sadly I won’t be having them on this episode, as again, you probably guessed from the title. Reason being, we had fun and everything but back then a lot was going on, I was just moving in with my then girlfriend and for one reason or the other I didn't put in as much effort as I could have into quality assurance. I definitely had fun but I really think I did them a disservice attaching their names to some mish mash of a ramble.
Those guys are some of the coolest people I know, and I really wanted to solidly improve the quality of the cast before getting anyone else involved in my ramblings.
Anna, Asha, Adley, Ashina, thanks again for being on the cast. Shout out stevaughn and daniel as well for being there and bringing vibes, always a pleasure. And a huUUge shout out to katastrophe kat for letting us use her house as the location. This was during peak covid n everything so I know having a bunch of folks in your house to make a podcast of all things could not have been ideal, but you supported the homie when all he had to offer was vibes and pizza. Many many thanks, and I hope to have you all back on one day.
All that being said I'm still just a guy recording on his phone at his house so if you hear stuff like people, animals or vehicles that's just my environment, give thanks for hearing and give thanks for the world around you.
That’s housekeeping.
Now some points of information
Firstly, I’ve come to understand that when it comes to anime there are 4 main release formats:
- Theatre releases which are usually movies
- TV releases which are usually series
- Original Video Animations or OVA for short, which are either movies or series made specifically for home video releases like dvd, blu-ray, etc.
- Original Net Animations, ONAs, which are either movies or series released directly onto the internet.
…of course here in the west I think alot of us just call everything anime,, or at least nobody's ever asked me if I've watched such and such OVA or ONA…
Second point, the average length of any series mentioned here is 23 minutes unless otherwise stated.
Lastly, if you’re completely new to anime and don’t know where to find stuff, all the series mentioned are on 9anime, zoro.to or you can ask a weeb friend. You probably have one or two and they would likely love to share if you’re interested.. You can also try for movies on those sites but I personally recommend torrenting them. I’m generally an advocate for supporting creators where we can but some of this stuff just isn’t on streaming services and if we’re being really real we can probably chalk up any “losses” to Japan paying for their war crimes…
Alright. with that out the way, let’s get into it.
THIS episode's format is different from the usual, list of stuff consumed this month then stuff consumed before that,, this time it’s all stuff watched this month but split into series and then movies. Also the order isn’t any sort of ranking it’s just the order I happened to watch them in.
Again I haven’t really done too much anime and I already mentioned my fav older watches in Season 1’s Anime solo reprise.. Fairly certain that if i went with that format again It would pretty much be the same lists except most of what I watched that month would move into this month’s older top 5 or so. I also really didn’t want to have to try and balance between series and movies for a top 5 list,, or do any type of ranking tbh,, plus seeing as i haven’t watched all that much anime I feel like my perception’s bound to be changing rapidly at this point..
When I add more to the stack I'll probably make another list but for now you can check out that ramble or read the writeup if you're interested.
[SERIES]
- Gunsmith Cats (1995 OVA, 3 episodes, 30 minutes each)
Picked this up for the shits because I liked the name and wanted to see if it had any relevance to the plot,, plus I'd always seen some 90s anime lofi type beat gifs of it and that made it seem pretty cool. Only 3 episodes. 90 minutes total, and if there was going to be predictably gratuitous fan service then that seemed a fair and tolerable length.
Not bad,, pretty enjoyable even if you don't mind or just wanna see some pulp., As anilist user Wilza put it, girls + cars + guns = fun.
Tumblr media
Personally though I prefer media I consume to look good, be enjoyable and also be filling in some way,, but I pretty much knew what I was going into, and again, 90 minutes total. Not a bad appetiser for a whole month of anime.
Spoiler alert. The only relevance the title had to the plot was the main characters owning a store with the same name.. A gun store… idk what I expected…
- Riding bean (1989 OVA, 45 minutes) & Bean bandit (2021 OVA, 8 minutes)
The 1989 Riding Bean is actually the parent of Gunsmith Cats and the 2021 Bean Bandit is supposed to be a kickstarter for a new anime,, if i’m understanding my google search results correctly….
The mc of Gunsmith Cats, Rally Vincent is the partner of the mc here, Bean Bandit. Mostly watched for the Gunsmith Cats relation and the fact that there was less than an hour total length between the two. Also the name, again, had a strange pull on me cause I just still can’t fathom that naming sense and needed to actually see what was up.
Unfortunately I can't say there's much worth mentioning,, The mc is supposed to be a badass courier that has a cool ass car and drives anywhere anyhow but with basically one episode and an advertisement, neither of which were spectacular in any fashion, I couldn't find myself picking up the anything they were putting down. My only real comments are; cool car ig, the main character's chin is insane, like google the guy, bean bandit,,, and it was nice to see Rally again but in a different style… ig…
I encourage everyone to evaluate stuff for themselves but… you can probably let this one pass you…
- Digital juice(2002 OVA, 6 episodes, 3 mins each)
Very cool anthology, no real relation between each episode besides an effort being made to transport you to a different, usually high fantasy world.
Not too much to say barring going into each of the 6 shorts but ain't nobody got the time for that + they were mad short fr. Not even 20 mins length total, so I feel like I literally can’t start speaking on any of them without just about spoiling it entirely.. I will say that I definitely enjoyed all of them though.. Like a 7 on average if I was pressed for a score...
Really diverse animation styles throughout and, at least for me, it was a pretty decent shakeup of my preconceptions as to what anime, meaning Japanese animation, looks like. Highly recommend if you're bored of the same old same old and want a quick shake up.
On that note, this is one of three cool looking unrelated anthologies I wanted to watch this month. Sweat Punch and Short Peace are the other two. If anyone can find them please send them my way.
- Sonny Boy (2021 tv series, 12 episodes)
Wasn’t expecting much going into this, if anything I was expecting some lord of the flies, kids slowly going insane and picking each other off type beat, but I was so off the mark and in the best of ways.
The gist of the story here is that a high school has drifted into another dimension and at the same time, some of the kids start developing powers. With that setup I don’t think you can blame me for thinking this was gonna be another pseudo death game type beat, plus the title Sonny Boy, literally gives nothing away about the show,, but as I said the show went in a completely different direction.
For the most part the students are actually working together to try and get home albeit in their little factions, each having their own ideas about how they should go about that. Their situation was anything but normal and shit never really hit the fan like i expected but shit definitely got weirder and weirder.. But keeping the kids actually behaving like normal kids for the most part was a pretty good choice as it was way easier to relate and empathize with stuff like a class spat leading to people being isolated or god complex student council members, rather than dudes killing each other over who gets the best part of a fucking deserted island or something like that yk?
Tumblr media
On that note the cast was great, pretty brilliant actually. Loved pretty much all the dialogue and despite the heavy scifi setup, it was more slice of life leaning a bit into psychological. Kids being kids, they’re gonna have issues yk? Put em in a different dimension, give em powers, kids are still gonna have issues. I think the main thing, was trying to find the place where you belong and the journey to get there, but honestly there was so much going on, so much cool social and existential commentary before and after that became clear, it was phenomenal. All wrapped up in some of the most dope visual direction I’d ever seen in anime.
Definitely highly recommend, honestly feel like i must have missed when it was buzzing cause it’s just so good in every direction I can think of,, my last ditch attempt at selling it would be to say it’s like a cross of the magic school bus and doctor who.. I think watching this as early as I did in the month was a big driving force for me actually trying to watch a bunch more stuff and I'm super thankful…
- Bus gamer (2008 TV series, 3 episodes)
Series about death games are about a dime a dozen but usually an okay time.. You know what you're getting and sometimes they can actually be really good and if not, what's another gratuitous chainsaw massacre?
The story, as with most death games is pretty simple. Different corporations/businesses hire teams of three strangers to steal and protect each other's data for huge sums of money.. As opposed to just getting a safe or investing in tech.. who knows why rich people enjoy toying with the lives of poors.. In any case, outside the games I like the plot point of teams made of strangers as it usually makes it more interesting to see how they pull stuff off.
Just 3 episodes, not that good in any sense plainly speaking. Very abrupt ending as it's based on a cancelled manga so that should tell you… I will say it did have a few cool lines I saved for future use though.
In any case I wasn't expecting much going in, the name just intrigued me. idk even know how I chanced into this. I just saw the name and was just like “are they playing games on a bus? in transit? what's going on?” but no they just play the games wherever..
Tumblr media
Very sick op and ed tho I’ll for sure give it that,, and yeah it wasn't great but as hanma yujiro said in Baki son of ogre, if you only consume the good your body will become vulnerable, you have to take the good and the bad in their share to become stronger.
- The Tatami Galaxy series
So so so so so good, and without powers or anything really, just pure brilliance. idek what else to say… Tbh after watching Sonny Boy I thought I’d be lucky to see another series even half as good but I was thankfully blessed with another masterpiece and I’m so grateful.
The Tatami Galaxy series is actually 3 different series and a movie. Not really clearly related in plot but moreso the characters and themes, with each series showing those off in their own way. All thankfully and wonderfully brilliant,, but 4 items is a lot to squeeze in without turning a ramble into a lecture so i’ll try to speak on the general first then brush on the differences of each.
At its core, tatami galaxy is a romantic comedy that we never truly get to see the fruit of as the mc's ceaseless cyclical efforts are barely enough to start up a conversation with a woman…. Felt my dude…. :’^)))
Our mc is a freshman college student hoping to have a rose coloured college life as he's wasted his highschool years, and to that end he tries to join a club for their social circle, and hopefully even find a girlfriend. Sadly for him, but pivotal to the plot, he fails miserably at finding the ever elusive ideal girl and even worse, finds himself with only one so called friend he could call close after two years.
Tumblr media
Another common thing were the absolutely stunning visuals which were so beautifully dynamic, in so many ways, it doesn’t even make sense to start listing. (breathe)I think this worked really well with the anthological feel the series gives off as a whole, and even within each individual part. Like the visual direction was almost too perfect man like i know some folks just don’t do slice of life but fr just look at the thing man it’s so beautiful.
btw, having watched all of them I’d say you don’t have to watch any particular one to watch any of the others, or in any particular order. I just read the summaries and decided to watch it in the order i’m about to talk about them in and yes I’d recommend that order but it’s not any strict thing.
Tatami Galaxy (2010 tv series, 11 episodes)
I’d say this is the definitive main branch but again, not something I’d say you have to have to watch before the others.
Here we follow our mc as he thinks back on his past two years of college. Unsatisfying, living alone, and with only one so called friend who he blames for being the cause of his failure to grasp a rose coloured college life. I really liked the gimmick of the story telling where basically every episode he would decide he’s going to join some club for their social circle, find he didn’t like the club’s activities for some reason or the other, meet that same one friend, then end up wasting time for two years. This makes it so that at the end of pretty much every episode he finds himself in some dire social situation that makes getting friends, not to mention a girlfriend, virtually impossible. He curses his fate and wishes he joined a different club because then everything would be different and everything would be awesome, most of all he wouldn’t meet that one guy and he would definitely get a girlfriend. Then the next episode his college life starts all over again and he chooses a different club.
Personally I really love strange loops, and I just couldn’t believe how fun it was to watch the story progress even within said loop. All brilliantly wrapped up and I have to say the second to last episode is some of the greatest episodes of anything I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching.
Tatami Galaxy specials (2010 dvd, 3 episodes, 7 min each)
These are side stories that have virtually nothing to do with the main branch and if nothing else, just gave more screen time to a cast I was completely in love with by this time. I think it could also be first in your watch order if you don’t want to jump into 11 episodes of the main branch, or even in between episodes tbh, as it gives little tastes of the main cast and the kind of antics they get up to. Thankfully keeping the killer visuals I'd come to associate with the series. It was like they knew they already did everything right and just wanted to have some fun.
Tatami Time Machine Blues (2022 ONA, 6 episodes, 17 min each)
Same main cast, same main character having the same problems, but completely different like nothing from the main series ever happened,,, or was somewhere in between, time machines are involved so who knows man, such is life.
This was more on the nose actual time travel as the name implies, as opposed to the original’s recursive reminiscive storytelling,, The art was a little different than the first two i mentioned but the direction was still chef’s kiss. getting into the story of how and why they’re time travelling in the first place would spoil the wonderful ridiculousness of it all and despite everything I’m aware ramblings aren’t usually well received, so I simply highly recommend this..
Night is young, Walk on girl(breathe) (2017 movie, 1hr 30 mins)
This one is completely completely different from the rest as though they all balance the vantage points of the main cast reaaaaally well, this one actually has most of the story coming from the main heroine’s perspective which was reeeaaalllly cool to see after all this time. Also the art is again a little different from the rest but thankfully still with the same utterly beautiful yet playful charm.
Tumblr media
I think I'm getting a little repetitive now and I have other things to get to so I won't even give the synopsis but just know, as with all the others, this shit is flames. Source: dude trust me.
Speaking generally on the series again, I loved how the main character’s narration was very like fast and clean cut, almost mechanical as opposed to how he and really the story were actually very whimsical and unstable. Fair warning, the dialogue could be very cutting emotionally and psychologically despite that whimsy, which almost always somehow managed to come from left field, but it all just blended so well, especially with the amazing visual direction. Also absolutely loved the main cast btw, from just their designs to their individual eccentric oddities,, easy 10/10 man
- Ayakashi: Japanese classic horror (2006 tv series, 11episodes)
Not a big horror fan in general, but I can’t deny enjoying the occasional dash of gore and body horror in my media, but something about Japanese horror, specifically their supernatural realm stuff has always been very appealing to me. The diversity, creativity and folklore usually present is just so wild it always makes me wonder, wtf are the Japanese on and how long have they been on it.
That being said this wasn't all that great but it was an anthology of 3 stories, max of four parts each so nothing dragged on too long for me to hate anything. On average the stories themselves weren't bad or anything, actually they were solid enough and to the point but the age in animation showed through in a way that made me feel like I was watching a homemade project or something. But on the other hand, as I'm getting older myself, it did give me a bit of nostalgia for the days of searching through YouTube videos for hours to watch one anime episode split into four parts just to find out they only had 2. Also I thought each story was better than the last tbh, ending with an amazing three parter called Bakeneko, which was just so much different and also better than the first two in every sense, it's almost hard to believe they're from the same series.
If i’m being honest, even though I really dig japanese horror in general I actually mostly watched this series to see that last story as it actually ended up getting its own series called mononoke the following year.. I knew they weren't related but as a completionist I like to complete things yk? For those wondering, no you don't have to watch this series or even the last part, Bakeneko, to watch and enjoy mononoke.
- Mononoke (2007 tv series, 12 episodes)
Technically a spinoff of the previous series but definitely stands out on its own.
Honestly went into this almost to hate watch, for two reasons. One, for the most part I'm a manga purist so my hater self was like "fuck all those fancy shmancy colors n shit, all you need is the good ol black and white and a good story". Secondly I'd never actually seen anyone talk about it outside of thirsting for the mc and aesthetic blogs posting the same few clips so I thought it would’ve just been eye candy, but just from what I saw in Bakeneko I knew I was wrong and was actually really excited to get into this.
The story here is that the mc is a "medicine man". Medicine man in quotes cause we never see this dude sell medicine and tbh it seems like wherever he goes people are about to be or already getting fucked.. But he calls himself a medicine man. Though in reality what he does is exorcise supernatural beings called mononoke. All together the show is split into five multi part stories, each focusing on a particular mononoke.
Tumblr media
Now you might be thinking "ohhh brother, not more demon slayin". Trust me I get it man.. I get it… but it's different in that the mononoke are said to come into being because of the misfortune of humans, so they really focus more on solving the mystery of that first creation step for most of the story, rather than physically fighting demons,, which does happen but usually more to the climax of each part., I was expecting to find it getting more and more predictable with the same general outline for each; mc shows up, mononoke shows up, shit hits the fan, MC saves the day, different day, different mononoke. But every story felt so richly unique, less so because of the obviously different mononoke and underlying themes but moreso I think, because of the mix of lengths and pacing which made it hard for even the general layout I described to feel predictable.
The main character was honestly just too brilliant and pretty much everyone, in this very shuffled cast mind you, played their parts so well. Also I said what I said but the eye candy was there and cannot be understated. Loved the horror aspects of course, more creepy than scary though, and really most of the time, the most horrific things were the sequence of events that caused the mononoke to come into existence.
Also a movie should be coming out this year so that's another reason I decided to check this out.
- Yokohama Shopping Log/Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (1998 OVA, 2 episode, 29 minutes each) & it’s sequel, Yokohama Shopping Log: Quiet Country Cafe/Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou: Quiet Country Cafe) (2002 OVA, 2 episodes, 32 minutes each)
Actually read the manga just over 2 years ago when I was on a slice of life binge and really dug the vibe, was so strangely peaceful I really wanted to see it in motion.
There's no real story tbh, it's literally just vibes, as it comes from a slice of life subgenre called iyashikei, apparently meant to have a healing effect on audiences by showing characters in a calming environment, living out peaceful lives. There's no real grand happenings, but that's really the point. As anilist user c00kiemaster puts it. Finding peace in the mundane, seeing beauty in the damaged.
Tumblr media
The setting is one of those very rare post apocalyptic ones that aren’t all sad and hopeless. a little melancholy but that's just the personal disposition of the mc, which makes how healing it is all the more wild.
The two parts cover different parts of the manga but you don't really need to see one to see the other, as I said the plot is minimal and it's more about the setting. They don't cover as much as the manga but I really enjoyed just hearing the wind and watching it blow over the fields, watching the waves crash here and there.. a lone engine revving up then hitting an abandoned road… and the soundtrack is just… so peaceful..
If you want to see stuff happen then this probably isn't for you but it's a great wind down.. The reason I watched it last… If you're trying to get cozy then this is it.
[MOVIES]
- Roujin Z
The plot here is that the ministry of health has developed a new machine to automatically take care of the elderly who can't do so themselves.. Generally a movie needs conflict, so needless to say that didn’t go quite as well as they planned.
This is a Katsuhiro Otomo movie. Fairly certain Otomo’s most popular, or at least his most commonly referenced movie is Akira, but he's also been involved in quite a few other films. I had the pleasure of watching a few anthologies he worked on last year; Robot Carnival, Meikyuu Monogatari and my personal favourite, Memories. These all pretty much stand toe to toe with Akira so I had pretty solid expectations heading into this and they were pretty well met.
Tumblr media
Solid cast and great aesthetic as I think most anime fans do, or usually come to expect from Otomo, and also pretty funny. I don't think Otomo's comedy gets enough credit tbh, especially for pulling it off in these usually sci-fi, end of the world, high tension situations. If you check out his anthologies you’ll see he can be a pretty funny guy, and though Kaneda provided a bit of that in Akira, I’d definitely recommend checking out his other work, Stink Bomb, from the Memories anthology to really see what I mean.
- One Piece movies, Stampede and Red
Stampede was sort of cool because we got to see the worst generation all in one place again, though I don't really care for most of them, so it wasn't THAT cool to me. Honestly I find it hard to care for them when it's not like the main story, or even this movie seems to either. Cool looking main enemy with a simple mindset and characterization that plays their role. The only thing I didn't really like is this thing where the main baddie had some connection to Roger or is from that generation. Another movie that did this was One Piece movie Z.
Let me just put out there though that I liked it when they did it in the Strong World movie, because the antagonist there, Shiki, was actually canon and one of Roger's greatest rivals besides Whitebeard. So being the first movie post time skip, it really hit to see Luffy go head to head with someone like that, but also because of that,, pulling any other character from that era doesn't make much sense to me seeing as Luffy beat THE Golden Lion Shiki and has only gotten stronger since then. That being said I recognise Luffy's win over Shiki was a once in a lifetime ass pull but it's a movie you know,, cool once in a lifetime shit is kinda supposed to happen.. unlike his asspull win vs a certain Katakuri… which I'm evidently still salty about to this day.
One thing I really appreciated though was usopp's role in this movie. After spending 2 years on such island during the timeskip, being trained by a dude named Heracles, he's supposed to be a real yute now yk, but in the main series we haven't gotten it all that much.. Thankfully he was for really really real here, like all real ones know god usopp to be… also shout out warlord turned yonko genius buggy one time…
Red
Wasn't expecting much from this movie tbh. If you're a One Piece fan then you know Shanks is the biggest tease in franchise history, so despite all the ads and previews alluding to his supposed involvement, I knew he would show up for like 5 minutes, say a few words and maybe swing his sword once. Which was pretty on the mark,, but I didn't expect to love it as much as I did nonetheless. Probably the second most emotional one piece film after one piece movie 6: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island.
Tumblr media
- Lupin III: The First
That might be a little hard to follow for folks who don’t know the character but his name is Arsené Lupin the third and the movie title is The First.
Gonna just go with the anilist description here and say the story centres on Lupin teaming up with a woman named Leticia to steal the Bresson Diary, a treasure that even the first generation Arsène Lupin could not steal., Simple heist plot but this shit was so damn cool, the craziest thing is that Lupin just looks like kinda dorky idk but he just so smooth with it. Not to be outshined by his gang that’s not quite a gang, all utterly killing their respective roles of sword, charm, gun and somehow funnily enough the law.
I had unreasonably high expectations heading into this tbh, firstly because of the crisp animation I'd seen in trailers. Secondly, because after watching my first lupin movie last year, the blood spray of goemon ishikawa, and being absolutely blown out of the water, I unreasonably expected them to easily produce another master class. Thankfully I was not disappointed in the least, all my expectations were far surpassed and I'm even more excited to watch the rest of the movies and get into the main series.
- Millennium actress
A Satoshi Kon movie. If his name doesn’t ring a bell his other movies, Perfect Blue and Paprika usually do for anime fans and regardless i’d recommend them.
Tumblr media
The story here is that a documentary film maker is interviewing a legendary actress that disappeared at the height of her career. Like most Satoshi films I've seen till this point, it neatly blends the lines between illusion and reality but this is still the first normal Satoshi Kon movie I've seen until this point. Very touching and ironically down to earth given the intentional blurring of reality by the characters themselves. I definitely preferred this to both perfect blue and paprika, I think mostly because of how whimsical the fantasies of the characters were here, as opposed to the darker more dissective nature of Perfect Blue and Paprika. I mean those were pretty solid movies but I guess that’s how it usually goes? Like yh what a wicked and ironic comment bro, now try saying something true and beautiful… still solid movies but yh..
- Angel’s Egg
This was actually my 3rd attempt to watch this movie in like 4yrs. Still don't know what I watched so I couldn't even give you a real synopsis. And I still can't figure why it seems so highly rated.. I definitely get that it's aesthetically pleasing, Yoshitaka Amano having done the art. but there's like 10 lines of dialogue,, and sure there's some cool existential bits but that's like 3 out of the 10 lines. To each their own but man… idk…
- Tokyo godfathers
Another Satoshi Kon film, actually didn’t realise until I started it and saw the art and was like, “is this Satoshi?” And yh it was Satoshi.
The plot here is three homeless folks find an abandoned baby girl on Christmas eve and try to reunite her with her mother. No fantasy or anything really, just some very real shit, teared up and almost cried at one bit tbh. Brilliant visual direction as expected but I actually found the sound direction a bit odd idk,,. Still, it easily became my fav Satoshi Kon movie like half hour in.
And that’s it for stuff watched this month, much love and thanks if you're still here, I'm gonna ramble a little bit more after this but the main part of the episode is done now so,, love and peace and safe travels 🤞
A brief on Harry's public behavior that day
2022 Venice film festival
An answer to this respectful tweet
I am a Larrie, no need to say I love them both but I am also a professional, particularly mkt & branding is my area, I have read & learned a LOT about the industry thanks to them, probably like most of us here have, I am also a grown-up, I know how many unexplainable things from the 1D days have been inherited into our days trying to make sense of current situations & because, particularly, H has been involved in so many complex situations I’ve tried to be objective about it, looking for a better understanding despite I don’t like some. It's fine because I am still here. On the other hand, this showed me the raw reality of what the industry demands to be “successful“ in it and how real issues like pressure, money, power & a large number of people relying on just one man, puts an inappropriate responsibility on him.
First, I’d like to say that there is the larries pov but there is also the “world” or the GP too, I can try to justify whatever by looking at it through the larrie glasses but the truth is he came there for the first time and he acted as he did. I love him and that’s why I don’t want others to point at this behavior as disrespectful or poor when he is having an opportunity (that many actors don’t, for instance) of a lifetime. So, it’s not a matter of what a larrie state of mind “should be” or that st*pid octopus’ morals are, it is a matter of caring about a guy whose reputation is already damaged and dragged by the choices he took, the media, his team, the industry, the stunt… far away from who I think he is.
At this time, we were at one of the worst peaks of the stunt he & his so-called “gf” had just put out there the most controversial articles, we had pap pics almost every day, wrong quotes, etc... They got there and H ignored her under a “professional veil” to quit that attitude once they got into the theatre, to go back to spread kisses once again in NY streets later…and the only chance he got to show a bit of who he really is, how despite everything he was going through he is who we know he is… he puts into display this (alow me to name it) game. Don’t forget Harry has been in the industry for more than 10 years, he knows it's folds perfectly. I am telling you, this wasn’t read into considering his stunting state at the moment or his feeling towards despicable OW, I am a Larrie & I was concerned.
When I mentioned controversies, I didn’t imply his level of freedom, but the obvious DWD promo: based on spreading garbage all over. So it would have been nice if, for once, his circle or his moves weren't related to this kind of approach seeking headlines. However, to the general question: is H capable of choosing? Yes (minding ofc the doubt before the extension and consequences of them). Does this imply easiness, comfort, being happy with what the industry demands of this man or not having to deal with complex contracts (including his & the boys 1D’s)??? No. Don’t take me wrong, I am not saying his position is any lighter than it is or it looks like, there is too much involved and is disgusting.
I get how some see this specific moment as a rebellion and give them comfort, I understand it because I was thought like that too & the loop to see through is a bit complex & doesn’t get any better, as you can tell. It helped me a lot to give it a business pov, separate it from my feelings for them or from who I think they truly are, to understand the extent of the circus they (& us consequently) deal with.
I am not looking for an answer breaking down every step under the stunt, because I know too, believe me; but take this ( if you wish) as a wider scope on how things are seen. There is a larger audience (and intention), I chose my side, but that doesn’t erase the others and I mind how he is perceived. Precisely, being a larrie let us see clearly the incoherencies of the artist out there and walking that line is risky for him first. I wish his lame team could make a better, creative and mature strategy to protect him & give us a much healthier experience.
Audio
“[After the end relationships] I’d feel this odd combination of sadness and failure on my part, but genuine happiness for her. Genuine happiness, like a kind-hearted prison guard after a particularly audacious escape plan had gone very well indeed. I’d be like, ‘You go for it, yeah! I’d leave if I could.’ ” – Daniel Kitson, After the Beginning, Before the End
That audio clip got to me so much when I first heard it, because that was exactly why I never got into anything for the past ten years, until 2021. I occasionally met women on dating sites (really, really not often, but a few across ten years) and always told them that I know I don’t have the emotional capacity to do a proper relationship, and they said they understood, but it felt like getting them to sign a contract waiving their right to be upset about my incompetence in a scenario in which contracts do not work. It got to me to hear someone describe that feeling so accurately.
I mean, it’s not an exact match to me. Unlike Daniel Kitson, I’m just wired wrong; I do not have the excuse of saying it’s all because a relationship went bad ten years earlier and I never got over it. Though to be fair, I’m not sure it’s a great excuse when he says it either. I mean, I don’t know, and I can’t make assumptions about that stranger’s life. Maybe he really did date the best woman in the world in like 2003, someone so great that that breakup was worth talking about in every single stand-up show he wrote for the next ten years. Or maybe it just seemed like it would be a good explanation for other things if he turned that into something so huge that it was worth spending ten years talking about. Then again, maybe the ex-girlfriend he spent ten years talking about is a fictional character he invented for stand-up material. Maybe Daniel Kitson’s been happily married since 2008 and doesn’t really have a stutter. I don’t know.
Last year I did try an actual relationship, for the first time in a decade, and I made several posts on here about how I’d lucked into finding the best girlfriend I could possibly ask for, and all that is still very much true. There’s another comedy quote that might be relevant here, when Nish Kumar said his relationship was incredibly good with only one tiny little flaw, and if he could change just one thing about it, it would be: “Everything about me and my entire personality.” Because it turns out that if you’d spent years avoiding doing something because you know you can’t do it properly and doing it improperly will involve hurting someone you care about and then feeling incredibly guilty about it, maybe you should fix some aspect of that before just trying it anyway (I mean me here… I’m sure Nish and his girlfriend are very happy together and it’s fine).
Anyway, the point is that I experienced a breakup today, and the first thing I thought of as something to do about that was re-listen to the bleakest comedy show I’ve ever heard, which is Kitson’s 2013 one. He’s done theatre shows that are meant to be drama rather than stand-up comedy, and he’s done other stand-up shows that have dark depressing themes in them but also jokes and laughter-inducing whimsey and notes of hope. But in 2013, he did something that was in the stand-up category but just cold and bleak as all hell. His theatre show about the guy on the verge of suicide had way more hope in it than that 2013 stand-up show: After the Beginning, Before the End. That’s what I thought when I first heard it months ago, and that’s what I thought when I listened again tonight. It’s very, very good. But Jesus Christ, it takes desolate comedy to new levels.
I don’t think I’m going to write about that breakup beyond this post, because I am not Daniel Kitson. And because this blog is an escape for me and I would really like to use it to its full potential as distraction and escapism at the moment. But I thought I’d throw in one post to let people know that if you ever struggle with a relationship’s end, try listening to After the Beginning, Before the End. It’s on Bandcamp and it won’t make you feel better but it will make you say, “Oh yeah, that is what that experience is like.”
This is like how last year, I learned that if your friend dies suddenly while under a lockdown, you could try spending a week watching all of Simon Amstell’s sitcom/stand-up DVDs/those weird movies he made, and listening to a lot of Nirvana. I’m just out here sharing helpful tips, providing pairing options between parts of British comedy and really fucking shitty things that can happen in life.
Freaking. HELL MAN!!! Okay. OKAY! Literally got me acting like a fool pacing the around the entire house because I literally CAN’T EVEN! Neighbors probably think I’m lookin crazy with all these wild gestures, freaking messing up food sounding like Hein the old wheezy dog from Howl’s Moving Castle, had me shout out a curse in disbelief, literally was just about to walk into the microwave door. Alright, I had to stop writing for a moment because I wound up having a seasoning packet explode on me because I was not functioning right. Why am I telling you that? You can’t tell when I start or stop writing but I DON’T KNOW! In any case, note to self: do not try to do things before reading your messages. AND I STILL HAVEN’T GONE PAST THE BLUE TEXT! Listen, I’m a very animated person because of how much I’ve performed in musical theatre so like, freaking looked like I was doing a whole cabaret show up in here. That went WAY harder than I expected it to be and apparently there are some things I didn’t know I wanted until you said it. So um, yeah, thanks for that! 🥵 Okay so MAYBE I did underestimate you JUST a tiny bit and didn’t think you could get me to react more than before, but each time you’ve been proving me wrong and this one just takes the cake! LISTEN, I’M TRYING to be strong and tough here, but pulling out stunts like that MAKE IT SO HARD 😂 But I’m not giving in yet! NOPE! NOT HAPPENING! NO SIR! I am STRONG! I am CAPABLE of not submitting. Tbh, I don’t even know how to respond back to what you said because every time I look at it, I let out a flustered laugh and my eyes shift away instinctively (*coughandwhatyousaidisalltruesoCOUGHCOUGHCOUGH*) So nope! Totally don’t want to be or go through ALL of those things! No way! 👀
NOICE! Glad to hear I’ve got a chance! 😊 But I’ve gotta respect your professionalism though, it definitely builds self confidence in yourself and your products/services! I used to have the issue of selling myself short and giving away services like readings for free because I didn’t think it was worth anything, plus I wanted to help others. Because I did that though, I ran myself ragged and wound up having to stop. By putting limits like a price or a time limit, it shows that what you have is valuable and takes up your own personal time to do to provide them goods. People wind up respecting you more and you can still take care of yourself. Even though I feel like I didn’t learn much in college, it’s in moments like these that I just go “Okay, maybe I DID learn alittle bit.” Lol!
But yeah, DEFINITELY too bold for Ian. He’s the perfect example of needing to learn to love yourself first before you love another. If he only found himself more deserving of love and took the brave step of cutting ties with toxic people in his life like his mom, maybe he would’ve found more confidence in the type of relationship that he and M/C shared. I’m sure that his route will be all about healing his traumas and self-worth. I’m about to buy all these guys blanket warmers and just bundle them up while watching Disney movies.
AW HELL YESSSSS! Freaking LIVE for stuff like that man! Just having your brain go blank every time he uses a trigger phrase and a dopey smile lands on your face. My brain keeps going ultra subby mode thinking about all the ways this could go. BRRRRRR. Phantom of the Opera creates hypnosis kinks? No wayyyy! Mirror scene where Christine gets hypnotized and her makeup turns all sultry the whole next scene with a dreamy expression? Gerald Butler? PSSH! No one finds THAT incredibly hot, no! 👀 And then SDJ is loosely BASED off of said Broadway show/book/movie? Ain’t no way someone’s who’s dream was to play Christine Daae since Nursery school and would involve her entire life on getting that role would EVER love a game like this! Oh, and Jack’s supposed to be the Phantom? The sexiest guy in the movie but also the most freaking deranged? BOI. POTO was my yandere gateway, I swear 😂
Anyways! Fireman AU! But yeah, it’s so weird how one moment sunshine is just talking normally, but the next they’re drooling all over themselves and- wait did they just moan out Jack’s name? They’re begging to be pounded into oblivion? Well, the firehouse can’t let down their favorite pet, can they? So they’ll be more than happy to oblige! “Sunshine, if you keep drooling like that, you’re going to make everyone believe you can’t live another day without my love filling you up~! Don’t you know how dangerous that is sunspot? You don’t even know how much I’d love to make you mine in front of everyone, but that’s okay! Puppies like you are GREAT learners, so I’m sure you’ll figure it out in no time!” M/C is just a blushing, incoherent puddle at that point between the triggers and the copious amounts of touching. NOM NOM NOM, I could eat hypnokink ALL DAY EVERY DAY!!! OOO! I can’t even imagine the types of punishments they’d receive!
YA GOT THIS!!! But I’ll get my tombstone ready. RIP me when it does come out 😂 YUS! Like Jasmine or white orchid or something for Ian. I honestly don’t think that Alan would have any type of super woodsy smell on him, he’d be just straight CAMPFIRE with some kind of grass mixed in. Literally just laid down on the ground and that’s his scent 😂
OO OO OO! Sounding like a monkey over here lol, but that sounds like FUN! I’m curious at how far I’d be able to go since I love the heat normally (ice cubes feel SOOOO freaking good)! But that massage oil sounds aMAZING too! GOD, I love kinks! There’s so much fun things you can do and just that rush of dopamine. UGH! Love it! There’s a sex shop downtown where I’m at that has a floor dedicated to kinky items and I felt like a kid at a candy store lol. Sadly, I’ve never got to do much since my last relationship was long distance for years until we moved in together for a bit and had no privacy so we didn’t get to do much. Plus my drive is fiendishly high while his was a lot lower so we didn’t match up well in that aspect, but it’s okay! But I remember talking a lot about what I would get the moment I had the chance! (*coughgotropesbutnevergottousethemcough*) In any case, you got me curious, what’s the sensations with electricity? I know for me, I’m scared of being shocked by static electricity during the winter so I’ve never considered it, but I’m sucker for trying new things soooo 😗
Oh thank goodness!!! I got scared for a moment there! Anxiety and people pleasing tendencies got my heart racing like a mad man lol! I gotcha though and I’m glad you’re having as much fun as I am~😉 Also tell Moon that I’m eating up that whole discussion over on their blog! I normally pop on over because I love their writing too, but I saw how they’re discussing how certain parts of the fandom were acting ridiculous between the audio and Nick’s design and I was just like “YES! GO OFF!” 👏 😂 D’Awwww! \(//∇//)\ I got da SMOOCHES! Thank you Sun for trusting me to speak up and reassuring me that it’s all good 🩵 But noooooo, I’m not too neeeeeedy~! I’m a STRONG woman and I ain’t kneeling down to any dom! 😜
-🎃
It's cute, how easily flustered you get from just a few words~ And to think, you thought you knew what you were getting into? But as I said, you just need to meet a proper dom who knows you better than you know yourself. Who'll open your eyes to all those filthy little kinks you've been pretending not to notice. Someone who can tell that you want to be a helpless princess reduced to nothing more than a desperate whore, so eager for the approval of her dom that she'll accept any punishment and thank them for it.
Exactly, Ian needs to learn to love himself and also learn to trust mc to tell him how they feel. He's just got a whole boatload of trauma to work through and unlearn, and I hope his route is us getting to help him with that, because he deserves it!!
God yeah Phantom is sooooooo good for hypnokink~ Everything about Music of the Night is just 😘👌 perfect! Jack would definitely be the one to hypnotise you into becoming the perfect pet for the whole fire station crew. He'd scramble your brain so much, you'd truly believe you were a dog with no purpose other than to please them. He'd have you getting desperate and horny the moment you heard his voice. Hypnokink Jack is divine!!
Oooh Jasmine is a nice one for Ian!! Alan definitely smells like he took a nap in the grass next to a campfire. Man's just smoky and grassy and definitely hasn't showered in weeks.
Kinks are so fun!!! My first few introductions to kink were... not ideal. But when I got back into it at 18, it was with friends that I trusted and properly organised community events and stuff which was much better!! And now I've been in it for years and have dedicated my career to it :3c I feel very lucky that I get to do that tbh, it's not the most lucrative thing but it's fun and fulfilling!!
As for electricity, hmmmm... depends on what you're using and the voltage. A tens unit, for example, is kinda just tingly and buzzy because the pads are directly on your skin. Though if you turn it up enough, it'll also make your muscles tense/twitchy which can be fun if you're safe about it. A violet wand, on the other hand, doesn't actually touch the skin and instead creates sparks between the wand and your skin. So that feels a little more like a sharp, stinging pain. Almost like the world's tiniest, thinnest whip. It can also leave a tingly feeling afterwards if it's a higher voltage. But yeah, really depends on the type of electricity. A shock collar sometimes makes your blood feel like it's fizzing/bubbly and it's definitely a much harder (and less safe) form of estim. But violet wands, which is what most people think of when they think of electricity play, are mostly just delightfully sharp pain~
Don't worry, I'm very direct! I don't vaguepost, and if I did then I'd be like "this IS a vaguepost" in the tags lmao I'm not good at subtlety. Rest assured, though, I'm having plenty of fun~ And Moon said they're glad people have been taking it well!! We both feel strongly about the way people have been treating Sauce and the team, so it's good to know it really is just a vocal minority who are entitled bullies. Of course smooches!! Smooches for a strong, capable woman who just so happens to want to be forced onto her knees and used~
What can you smell right now?    My scented candle, which apparently smells like “smoked roses”.
What was the last thing you bought online?   A cooling blanket and some air freshener for my car.
If you drink coffee, when was the last time you went a day without having one?   Whenever I had that horrendous flu/bug thing - it must have been back in February, I think?
Do you have any appointments coming up?   I have two jobs to do in a couple of hours. I have to go and feed Monty and then pop in on Charley the cat.
Do you put appointments in your phone’s calendar app to remember them?   Yeah.
Will you be visiting anyone’s house in the next week or so?   Yeah, my job involves going in/out of people’s houses lol. I also see my in-laws most days as they look after the dog for us while we work.
Have you ever been to a petting zoo? What animals did you pet?   Yeah, loads of times - goats, lambs, pigs, calves, hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs, chicks, ducklings - all sorts.
What was the last movie you saw in theatres?   I haven’t been to the movies since before COVID lol.
Do you know anyone who has done a PhD?   Yeah, quite a few people.
How many unread emails are in your inbox right now?   Zero, I check/delete my e-mails as they come in.
What four apps do you keep on the home bar on your iPhone? (Sorry, I’m not sure if Android has an equivalent!) Phone, Spotify, Safari, Messages.
Have you ever used Tumblr? Do you still use it today?   No, this is all a figment of your imagination.
Are you tired right now?   A little bit, but not full-on exhausted or anything like that.
What’s your favourite day of the week and why?   It depends on the week and what I have planned, but generally weekends are the best for obvious reasons lol.
How far away is the nearest major city?   About two hours away.
Do you own an electric kettle?   Sure.
Are your eyebrows wispy or bushy?   Both lol.
Have you ever lost your wallet or purse? Did you have to replace a bunch of things?   I’ve lost my bank card a few times but I just froze it via the app and ordered a new one.
Where are you right now? Describe the room or place to me.   I’m in the living room as it’s bloody roasting outside. There are windows at each end - the front door is at one end, the kitchen door at the other and the upstairs door on far left as you come in. The walls are painted a mix of red and grey, the carpets are grey and so is the sofa, with red blankets/cushions to match the walls. All the furniture is white. There are fairylights all around the room and a scented candle burning above the fireplace.
Do you prefer big dogs or small dogs?   Medium sized dogs - around 15-25kg is perfect for me. Anything bigger and they’re generally too strong for me to handle safely, and any smaller and they’re just not really my thing, I guess.
Are you good at understanding heavy accents? Which accents would you say you’re the best at understanding?   For the most part I manage fine. I guess British accents.
Have you ever played on a real life pinball machine, or just on the computer?   Both.
Do you have a lot of word documents or notes on your computer?   No, I don’t think there any saved on here actually.
What’s your favourite Ben & Jerry’s flavour?   I’m not a fan of Ben & Jerry’s anymore. I loved it as a teenager but now it all tastes really sweet and artificial,.
Have you ever been to a school reunion? How was it?   No, and I have no interest in going to one.
How many nights a week do you generally cook at home?   I eat at home pretty much every night but I don’t always cook.
What colour are the street signs in your neighbourhood? Are they the same all over town or do they vary?   Like, the signs with street names on them? White with black lettering. That’s the same everywhere in the UK.
Do you have good grammar and punctuation skills?   Yes.
Have you ever tried vegan chicken? Did you like it? Yeah, I used to love Quorn stuff but now it makes me sick lol.
From the Archive, An Interview About SMASH and More from May 29, 2013
Award-winning musical theatre writer Joe Iconis’s songs have been heard all over New York City, in performances across the nation and now on the silver screen in NBC’s Smash. The writer of Smash favorites “Broadway, Here I Come!” and “The Goodbye Song” caught up with Stage Door Dish to share his experiences with the series, his creative process and the meaning of family.
SDD: How did your collaboration with Smash begin?
JI: It began because Josh Safran, who’s the showrunner, had been a fan of mine, sort of unbeknownst to me, and he came to see a concert that I did in June of last year. I didn’t know he was coming, I had never met him before, and after the show I was helping my friend load some drums into his car, and Josh went up to me and was like, “Hey, I’m Josh Safran, I’m working on Smash this season, I have a bunch of writers here with me and I want to know if you want to have some songs on the show.” So that’s how it all started. When I originally was talking to him, the idea was that I was to be the sole writer for the Hit List show. The initial idea was that [Marc] Shaiman and [Scott] Wittman would write all of the Marilyn Monroe musical stuff and they would just bring on one other writer to do the other musical, which is Hit List. And then through talks with them, it ended up being the kind of thing where they didn’t necessarily want to do that. And the people involved – Josh Safran is amazing and the actual writers are great – but you’ve got all of these high-ups at NBC and it goes all the way up to Steven Spielberg, so these people understandably don’t agree on a lot of stuff. So it turned into this thing where they have multiple writers whose songs end up on the show now and all the Hit List songs are written by one of a very large group of writers. At any rate, Josh, at our first meeting, talked about “Broadway, Here I Come!” He said that he kind of had that song in mind for the first episode and when he was trying to get the job of taking over for the show, he would use that song as his pitch, so it was his idea that that song would be this kind of recurring theme throughout the season. But he didn’t think that the fancy people at the network would ever let that be the song because we thought that they wanted something more upbeat and then I tried to write a song that was like a fake version of “Broadway, Here I Come!” that was a little more general and sort of happier. Then nobody liked that, and it was really the kind of thing where it was coming down to the last minute where they were going to film this episode in a matter of days and nobody could agree on the song so they just ended up using “Broadway, Here I Come!” which was great. And that’s how that ended up on the show. And then the other song I have on the show is “The Goodbye Song,” and that was just something where Josh really loved the song and wanted to specifically use that one on the show. So that’s been my experience with the whole thing.
SDD: What inspired “Broadway, Here I Come!” when you were writing it?
JI: I do concerts and I perform pretty frequently so “Broadway, Here I Come!” was a was a standalone song. I didn’t write it as a part of anything else, it was written to exist unto itself. When I first wrote it, it was kind of at a time in my own life when I was not the happiest, and I had a lot of conflicting thoughts about the theatre business in general. I had just done a show that opened and didn’t get the greatest reviews, and I felt a lot of momentum go away from what I was doing in that one moment. I knew I wanted to write a song about theatre and also struggling with theatre and about feeling stuck in a certain place, but also being afraid of getting to a certain place, and just the whole messiness about this idea of making it on Broadway, and what it means to make it. I started writing it, and I stumbled on this idea that making it on Broadway is kind of similar to jumping off a building. That sort of solidified the whole thing. The song just became about how I wanted every line to work so that someone could listen to the song and just think its about someone coming to the big city and trying to make it on Broadway but it also literally is about someone committing suicide and jumping off a building and then hurtling towards the street of Broadway. So then, the idea of the song became “could we make it work for both of those things?” So that’s kind of how the whole thing came about. It’s funny, the first time I ever sang that, I sang it at a concert – I had written it the morning of the show and it was a different version than what it is now – but the first 30 seconds of the song were the same, and when I sang it, it got a huge amount of laughs. People thought it was really, really funny. So I sang it, and then I put the song away and I never returned to it until a while later. I ended up rewriting it and Krysta Rodriguez is the first person who sang the song as it is now. It was really her interpretation of it that turned it from a song that when I first did it felt sort of darkly comic, to the thing that it is now. I still do I think it’s kind of funny but I feel like it has a dignity to it that it didn’t necessarily have when I first wrote it.
Krysta Rodriguez singing “Broadway, Here I Come!” on Smash
SDD: Do you find that that happens a lot? When you collaborate with a performer, does the way they interpret the song change your view of it sometimes?
JI: Yeah, absolutely. The name of the show is Joe Iconis and Family so I have this collective of artists and musicians that I work with pretty frequently, and I love collaborating with actors. It’s a huge part of my writing process, I write a song and I just can’t wait to get it in front of an actor and to work with them. I love sort of wrapping songs and theatre and shows around the people who are performing them. So, for me it happens all the time, it’s my favorite thing. It’s the kind of thing where sometimes I’ll change a word because a word doesn’t sound correct out of somebody’s mouth or I’ll change the rhythm or the melody. To me it’s very much a collaboration between the song and the singer. I think that’s what happens, Krysta made me feel like “oh, this song is a little different than I originally thought that it was,” and that happens all the time, which is cool. I have this song called “The Protector” and when I first wrote it, I didn’t know if it was a song that I would sing in concert, or if my friend Jason “SweetTooth” Williams would sing it, but then when I first wrote it I was trying to make it intentionally vague. I think it’s a song about many things and I wanted it to feel like poetry as opposed to more like a scene song, which is something that I write quite a bit. But when I first wrote it and I sang it, I felt like “you know, this makes no sense. I tried to do something that’s vague and that’s open to interpretation, but in actuality I’ve just written a song that’s fucking baffling and nobody is going to understand it.” And then SweetTooth sang it, and from the first time he sang it, it was so clear what this song was about. Even though it can be about different things, the intention of the song was immediately clear in a way that it just wasn’t when I was singing it or when I was thinking about it. And now it’s a song that people hear and always talk about when it’s in a concert. People always enjoy the song and understand what it’s about without being able to articulate what it’s about, which is totally because of this actor who heard it and knew how to interpret it and made it more clear than it was originally without even changing a word or changing anything about it. It just was a matter of performance.
SDD: On that note, is there a reason you call the people you work with “the Family?”
JI: Yeah, I guess it’s a couple reasons. It sort of started organically and I like the idea of, as I said, collaborating with artists. I’ve always loved the idea of having this stable of artists and being like a repertory company or like a group of people who all chip in and do this thing, and make art together. It also stems from a “doing shows in your backyard” kind of feeling, with everyone pitching in and the boundaries being fuzzy between who sings and who plays instruments and who writes and who directs. So we first started using the word the “family” in kind of an off-the-cuff way and we used it in programs – instead of saying “the cast” it would say “the family” because it just felt more appropriate. Then people started calling us “the family.” Then for a while I was kind of weirded out by it because it felt so natural and nebulous, and I was afraid if I supported it and put it out into the world as “Joe Iconis and Family” as a thing, it would seem too precious, or it would seem like something where you get a membership card, or like “there’s auditions for the family.” But in retrospect, I’m really happy that it’s kind of out there in the world, because I think what we do, it’s just different. I think that it’s something that no other group of people is really doing because we do these concerts and yeah, everyone is singing my songs so it immediately feels like a musical theatre concert in a way that it’s like “oh, a night of songs by ___.” But everyone really does have a place at the table. So the feeling of it – I think someone who wouldn’t be familiar with the world of musical theatre would see a show like that and it would feel a lot more like a rock band or a lot more like some sort of cabaret. Not necessarily in a musical theatre cabaret sort of way, but I think it would feel different. It feels like a collective, so “family” just makes sense to me. And I also just really hate when people, especially in musical theatre, do shows where it’s like, “So-and-so and friends.” It seems so silly to me. Cause a lot of times you’ll look at it and think “I know you’re not friends.” So I felt good about saying “and family” because it feels correct, it feels bonafide.
SDD: Did you always know that writing is what you wanted to do?
JI: Yeah, I kind of did. I saw Little Shop of Horrors for my seventh birthday. I started with Little Shop of Horrors, and I was very immediately hooked by musical theatre. I’m from close by and my family would go to see shows but there was no one who was really, really into theatre. I was, I loved it and for every birthday or holiday my family would take me to see shows. My aunt would take me all the time to see theatre and took me to a lot of adult shows. I saw Kiss of the Spiderwoman when I was a little kid and I saw Falsettos and I just loved it. And when I was little little, I would be in musicals and stuff and I knew I was bad, I was terrible at it. I was a really awful little performer and it made me nervous and I was scared to be in the show. But I still loved it and I loved being around the shows. So as soon as I was old enough to realize that there’s a person who writes the shows, that was immediately what I wanted to do. I was obsessed with Andrew Lloyd Webber and then Stephen Sondheim and Kander & Ebb and I just always wanted to do it. And I went to NYU for music composition in undergrad and I also did the musical theatre writing program, and from middle school on I was very much obsessed with the idea of writing musicals.
SDD: Do you have a certain process when you’re writing a piece or does it come together differently every time?
JI: It’s kind of different every time, I’m not the best about having a writing schedule so every day it’s hard for me to say like “oh, from 12-4 I’m going to write.” So it’s kind of different every day but in general, I write all over the place. I don’t have one sacred spot, I like to write in public a lot, I like to write at Dunkin Donuts, I like to write outside if I can. A lot of times I’ll start a scene or a song somewhere and then I’ll take it to a different location and then I’ll come back and I’ll write around the piano and then I’ll write away from the piano so it kind of feels like a frantic sort of whirling nervous style of writing. But then it miraculously comes together most of the time.
Joe Iconis
SDD: Do you have a personal favorite song of yours that you’ve written?
JI: Yeah. It’s funny with the songs because some of my songs I like a lot – I just like them, I like playing them, some of my songs I totally hate. They bug me and I don’t enjoy listening to them or hearing people sing them. But, I would say my favorite of my songs is this song called “Starting to Forget,” which is a song that I wrote about my grandfather many, many years ago. It’s a very simple song and it kind of doesn’t sound like anything that I write today but it’s sort of the first time – I wrote it in undergrad – and it was the first time that I felt like something clicked as far as the writing went and it felt like I was starting a new type of writing for myself, so it was a song that I was very proud of at the time and still am. And even now, I think it’s very simple, and I think that as a song it works really well and does a lot of the stuff that I care about in songwriting, so I always feel like that’s as good or nice a song as I’m going to ever write. So that’s the long answer to that question. “Starting To Forget.”
SDD: What’s been your most gratifying moment so far as an artist?
JI: One moment doesn’t stick out to me yet. There have been a couple moments that I’ve been really excited by. I would say backstage before the opening night performance of Bloodsong of Love, which is this musical that I wrote that was at Ars Nova a couple of years ago, and that we’re recently kind of picking up again and are  going to do again hopefully very soon. But it was a show that I really, really was proud of and the rehearsal process was amazing and everything about it was just great right before we actually walked into that opening night performance. I was just so proud and happy and great and kind of filled with possibility. The performance was amazing and then we got a sort of annoying review in the Times, so that actual night dwindled a little bit for me, it kind of took it away from fairytale. But it still was kind of worth it for the moments right before when it sort of felt like that “anything is possible” sort of thing. So that was pretty gratifying in a certain way but I think in general, the moments when I feel like “oh yeah, this is the best” usually have to do with performance. When I’m doing a show, like the shows I’m doing at 54 [Below], it’s the actual hour and a half of doing those shows and participating in the music and being onstage with these people that I care about so much and experiencing my songs being performed by artists of such high caliber. Those are my favorite moments, so whatever the last one of those are would be the most gratifying moment that I ever have.
SDD: Stage or screen?
JI: Stage.
SDD: If you could delete any song from existence, which one would you choose?
JI: “Don’t Stop Believing.”
SDD: Do you have a favorite word?
JI: Family.
SDD: What is your current obsession?
JI: The first thing I’m thinking of is meat and cheese plates.
SDD: Karen Cartwright or Ivy Lynn?
JI: Ivy Lynn.
SDD: What is the last great show you saw onstage?
JI: The Flick by Annie Baker.
SDD: What is your life motto?
JI: Everybody has a place at the table.
SDD: Who is the last person who made you feel starstruck?
JI: Anjelica Huston
SDD: If you could trade places with anybody on Broadway, who would you choose?
JI: I would choose Danny Burstein.
SDD: Which Broadway star would you most like to get a drink with?
JI: The girls who play Matilda.
SDD: Describe yourself in five words or less.
JI: Hairy, specific, collaborative, passionate.
okay, here’s my follow-up to this post. I had a lot of minor gripes with the third semester. so, what would I do differently? well, the big change I’d make is that I’d slap on half a month, and add an extra palace. who’s palace? well, you’ll find out later on in the post, though it probably won’t be a surprise.
under a cut, because it is  l o n g
... before I get into that however, let’s rewind a bit and talk about kasumi/sumire. like I said in my previous post, while I thought maruki was integrated well into the pre-existing persona 5 narrative, kasumi... kinda wasn’t. to some degree, it was probably intentional - there was meant to be something off about her - but in the end, it just meant half of sumire’s screen time wasn’t even really her, and the rest of it we got was compressed into such a small amount of time, its impact got watered down.
to fix this, I’d blend kasumi into the persona 5 story a bit more, and show some cracks in maruki’s actualisation pre-third semester. to do that, I’d have her accompany the rest of the phantom thieves down to the bottom of mementos (assuming you’ve met the requirements for the third semester, of course). after shido’s change of heart, kasumi notices that the public reaction is... really bloody odd. after all, she’s been worried that the general populace would grow too reliant on the phantom thieves, but then they pull off their biggest heist yet, and the public don’t react at all. realising something’s fishy, she goes to leblanc, and upon hearing they plan to steal the public’s heart, offers to join them.
that means just you get to use akechi for a palace pre-third semester, you get to use kasumi too - even if neither of them are really themselves. cinematic parallels, go! admittedly, I wouldn’t involve her much in the plot, outside of maybe being unusually rattled by the prisoners in mementos (after all... even if she doesn’t consciously realise it, sumire’s also given up on her life too). this is really the culmination of the thieves’ character arcs after all, not hers.
on that note... when the phantom thieves get banished to the velvet room and regain their spirits of rebellion after joker finishes chatting to them, kasumi... doesn’t. joker can’t get through to her, and it’s implied maruki’s actualisation has temporarily worn off, and she’s far too depressed to rally herself for the final boss. no fear, though - igor assures the phantom thieves that if they stop yaldabaoth and separate mementos from the real world, she should reappear in reality.
from that moment, things go as they do in canon... until we hit the third semester! the very start would be the same, with the phantom thieves under maruki’s spell and akechi going to joker, but instead of kasumi noticing the odaiba palace in the real world, she notices one located at her gymnasium. hmm, I wonder who that could belong too?!
yeah - before we get to maruki’s palace, we clear sumire’s first (not that they know who’s it is, at the time). It would be a stage/auditorium/theatre of some sort, and something would be really off about it. firstly, the palace ruler is missing, and despite it being a traditional theatre, there’s a lot of weird, machine-like tentacles infesting the place...
I don’t have too many ideas about the gameplay mechanics of the place, other than that you’re restricted to the royal trio for the whole thing, and you can only explore so much of the palace at once before the next section is cordoned off until the next day. Akechi, who wants to get this over and done with, insists they visit it daily until they clear it, as he’s weirded out by what’s happened to reality. so, no breaks - the palace is meant to feel a bit gruelling after all.
before each palace visit, joker automatically visits the phantom thieves and hints to them that things aren’t as they seen as in canon (except without wasting a whole day wandering around with no fast travel, folks). In the evenings, we also gets snapshots of how maruki’s reality has changed things for maxed out confidants (aka takemi’s reputation was never smeared, takase-kun never died, etc, etc).
as akechi, kasumi, and joker explore the palace, we get plenty of royal trio interaction, and more plot-relevantly, a mysterious voice warns them to turn back whenever they progress, as what’s laying ahead will only hurt them. as they get closer to the treasure, kasumi gets more and more unsettled, but she refuses to falter like she did with yaldaboath. eventually, they reach the treasure, and shadow sumire appears. there’s something wrong with her though - she appears ghostly and insubstantial, as a part (but only a part of her), is cendrillon. shadow sumire then puts on a performance of the car accident that killed the real kasumi, and sumire snaps out of her actualisation, and as in canon, freaks the fuck out.
shadow sumire then offers her a choice - forget about this place, and she’ll return to being kasumi soon, or change her heart, and be the person who got their sister killed forever. despite joker and akechi’s best efforts, sumire decides to protect her shadow/treasure instead, as she can’t go back to being the person she once was.
things are a bit tense between akechi and joker, but they’re determined to go ahead with the heist anyway - akechi points out azathoth’s tentacles, and comes up with the theory that whoever altered sumire’s mind is the one responsible for the current weirdness. you then fight sumire, and upon winning against her she faints, and her shadow/cendrillon goes berserk, and beats joker/akechi. of course, that’s the point that the rest of the phantom thieves reappear, and help you kick ass!
afterwards, they give sumire a pep-talk - even though things are difficult, she still has a future waiting for her. everyone then wonders what the hell is going on - morgana turned into a human, and makoto, futaba, and haru’s family members have all come back from the dead (and haven’t disappeared just because they snapped out of the actualisation). akechi point blank asks sumire what happened to her, and she points up, just as maruki enters her palace.
maruki reveals he’s responsible for everything, and explains his plans. the phantom thieves call him out, as it was their struggles that made them better people, but then maruki points to sumire, and highlights that not everyone is strong enough to deal with their pain. he states that sumire probably wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for his actualisation, something that sumire confirms. while the phantom thieves quiet down a bit at that, akechi’s undeterred, and wants to challenge maruki. maruki sadly admits he thought that might be the case, but asks for them to think on things for a bit, as if they undo his reality, everyone will suffer - the hurt will regain their wounds, and the dead will return to their graves.
everyone meets up at leblanc the next day (wakaba saying hello to them all, just as a bit of an extra punch in the guts), and the mood is pretty grim. akechi calls them all out for falling for maruki’s blatant manipulation, and haru curtly points out it’s his fault half of them are in this situation. akechi then gives her and a vague apology - he doesn’t exactly feel bad about killing kunikazu since he was an asshole, but does regret robbing haru of her agency. she... kind of accepts it, knowing its the best she’s gonna get, and he does the same for futaba.
ryuji then brings things back on track - while maruki’s got good intentions, what he’s doing is still fucked up. yusuke agrees, and points out that you can’t have good without the bad. makoto objects at this point - while she doesn’t disagree with them, they’re not the only ones affected by this. fighting against maruki would be akin to murdering her father all over again, while simultaneously dooming sae to a job that treats her like shit. futaba then brings up what sumire said, about how becoming kasumi saved her life, and admits without the change of heart she might have wanted something like that for herself.
everyone’s VERY torn, but then lavenza in her butterfly appears, and tells them to meet in shujin the next day. this goes practically the same as it does in canon, with lavenza revealing maruki’s reality will become permanent if they don’t change his heart by the end of february. sumire then appears, and apologises for eavesdropping, and reveals the location of his place - odaiba, where she first entered the metaverse. after some discussion, the phantom thieves decide to change maruki’s heart, as ultimately, a world where everyone’s brainwashed isn’t much of a world. sumire’s both a bit shocked and envious that despite everything, they’re still pushing ahead. ryuji laughs, and says that’s what a phantom thief does. sumire then asks to go to maruki’s palace with them, and reluctantly, the thieves agree.
they meet maruki in the auditorium, and reject his reality. he accepts that they’ll have to fight after all, even if he isn’t pleased by it, but then notices sumire and is shocked by her presence. he offers to ‘fix her’ again, but sumire says no. she admits she’s not as strong as the thieves, but she wants to be, and that means no more running away from her problems - she has to accept who she really is. this reignites her will of rebellion, and unlocks her second persona, vanadis. they then leave the palace after that, and morgana recommends spending some time stocking up on supplies/etc, before they go back in again.
from here, things are basically the same as the canon third semester, but with a few minor tweaks. all the third awakenings happen automatically (maybe with a with the occasional day spaced between them, to give the player some freedom and to allow them to kickstart sumire’s confidant), and sumire unlocks hers at confidant rank 10.
I’d also throw in a couple more scenes where the phantoms thieves interact with sumire/akechi. perhaps they have a welcoming party for sumire, after reaching the part in the palace you need to go to mementos to unlock? sumire gets told about the phantom thieves’ adventures, and we get some banter between the team. afterwards, joker has a quiet chat with akechi, who’s a bit surprised the phantom thieves have been so cordial with him. akechi then reiterates that he still doesn’t understand them at all, but admits that working in a team isn’t so bad after all, and that’s what unlocks his tier three persona (instead of, y’know, only unlocking it for the final boss battle where rebellion blade is entirely useless).
after that, I’d keep most of the game the same, up until 2/2 (which is 22/2 or something instead). instead of joker being alone when maruki arrives, I’d have all the phantom thieves be there, so this time, when he drops the bombshell that akechi’s been dead all along, everyone hears it. he then gives them until the evening to make up their mind. akechi’s still insistent they go after maruki as he’s tired of being a puppet, and storms off, with morgana suggesting the player makes sure he’s alright.
during this time, you can walk about leblanc and talk to the other phantom thieves, to get their full opinions about what’s going to happen to akechi. sumire would be pretty upset, as while she’s got the impression he wasn’t a great person, he was still a friend. ryuji and yusuke think the situation is absolute bullshit, while makoto agrees that it’s horrible, but commends akechi for making the right decision. haru admits that despite the fact that she doesn’t really forgive akechi for what he did to her, that doesn’t mean she wants him to die, and futaba agrees with her, especially since akechi was clearly trying to be a better person.
in the end, you talk to akechi, and get the choice whether to change maruki’s heart or not. if you chose no, akechi is pissed, and you get the bad ending where everyone’s ostentatiously happy. if you chose yes, joker and akechi confront maruki together, and give him the calling card.
the final confrontation with maruki is the same, but when his reality is destroyed, time resets back to christmas, with sae asking the joker to turn themselves in. akechi doesn’t appear this time, though. things then basically go the same as in vanilla persona 5, except when the phantom thieves gather in leblanc, sumire and morgana join them. (after all, joker going to prison doesn’t really have much emotional impact if he’s only there for like... two weeks).
things then go the same as in canon, with most of the thieves moving away from the shibuya area for one reason or another, but instead of joker riding the train back home with morgana, they go on the roadtrip like in the original persona 5, as one final hurrah.
* all the miraculous episodes coming out are making me think about my miraculous ladybug/undertale au, so uh I’m just gonna talk about that for a bit
* I just wanted to explain the characters a bit, who’s actually in the au, who’s not, etc
* basically, all of the original Miraculous characters are in the au, but they’d mainly just be side/background characters. Some would be more involved, like Marinette, Nino, Alya, basically most of the class, but for the most part the au would focus on the Undertale/Deltarune cast
* Adrien did exist in the world of this au, but he passed away, idk when exactly that would’ve happened, but probably soon after the monsters were freed
* Unlike the show, Adrien wouldn’t be a sentibeing (assuming he is, he could not be, but there’s so much evidence that suggests he is that it’s basically confirmed), so therefore Emille would exist. She wouldn’t be around for Gabriel’s shenanigans, she’s probably staying with Amelie, idk, but, yeah
* the list I made of which UT/DR characters replace which Miraculous characters is kinda misleading, no one is really “replacing” anyone, since no one would take anyone’s personalities, just the miraculous that the character uses, who gets akumatized, and their role in a given episode (so, for example, Sans would get the snake miraculous, but he wouldn’t really act like Luke or usually take Luka’s role in an episode. He would get akumatized into Truth and Silencer, but other than that, there really wouldn’t be any similarities between Sans and Luka)
* ok now onto some more general things:
* Berdly x Jockington would be a thing, because I decided to do that. For some reason. The relationship would probably start to form in like, Dark Cupid or smth, idk
* Max’s mom and Berdly’s mom would be married, also because I decided to do that
* Susie would have been adopted by Alphys and Undyne, mostly because I like the idea of Undyne adopting Susie in Deltarune, so why not I’ll put that in here
* Frisk and Chara would be able to switch between who’s controlling Frisk’s body, the way that you can tell them apart is that Frisk would wear their blue shirt with purple stripes and brown pants, and Chara would wear their green shirt with a yellow stripe and beige pants. Kris would wear a hoodie with a darker green and a darker yellow stripe and idk brown jeans or smth I don’t know fashion
* the rabbit miraculous would still be a pocket watch, but it would have a chain so you could put it around your neck, and for Kris it would be camouflaged into Chara’s heart shaped locket
* in the show, it’s been explained that the reason a child holder has to detransfrom after using their power once is because they don’t have enough energy for the kwami to feed off of, so the kwami has to eat and recharge. For monsters, the kwami would have to feed off the magic they use to form their physical bodies, and so that’s why they would detransform after using their powers once
* the Gabriel Agreste company would also have an acting company as a part of their brand, apart from the fashion company, and that’s where Mettaton would have worked before the main events of this au
* Mettaton, at this point in time, wouldn’t want to leave acting completely, but he would want to take a break, so that’s why he would be the theatre teacher at Françoise Dupont High School. Alphys would be the second science teacher, and Undyne would be the second gym teacher.
* Dess and Noelle would live with Asgore in his house, since Asgore wants to take care of them after Rudy’s passing and their mom leaving them
* both Mettaton and Papyrus would be gay, but Mettaton would publicly be out, and Papyrus wouldn’t (I’m not saying that the world of this au would have homophobia/transphobia as a problem, like 99% of people in this world would be accepting, but ofc there would be those few)
* some of the akuma villains would probably be some of the darkners from Deltarune, since the dark worlds wouldn’t be a part of the au, and I’d just like to include them (so Markov - Queen, Bob Roth - Spamton, Burgerpants - Jevil, etc)
* I’ve got some (very basic) ideas for how certain episodes could play out: for example, Silencer. Essentially, the episode would mostly be the same, the only difference would be that the band isn’t “Kitty Section”, it would be a band that Papyrus started in his spare time, and Mettaton is their manager. Papyrus would have designed the costumes, and seeing that they were stolen, he and Sans would go and confront XY and Bob Roth about it, and Sans, upset that his brother’s work is being stolen, and also hearing that XY has blackmail on Papyrus (see Papyrus not being out), gets akumatized
* for Papyrus being a sentibeing, I don’t have it fully finalized, but I was thinking that the object that holds his amok would be a piece of his scarf that Gaster used to test and see if what he was doing would work
* for “Felix”, I was thinking he could be a shapeshifting monster that was Papyrus’ old friend from the Underground, who knows that Papyrus is a sentibeing, and wants to try and protect him from any harm that Gabriel could bring him
* for Mad Mew Mew’s “Queen Bee” arc, in the “Miracular” episode of the au, instead of Mad Mew Mew never getting to be Queen Bee again, she and Ladybug would come up with a plan where she would come up with a new costume and name for her so that she could still wear the bee miraculous, but Hawk Moth wouldn’t recognize her. This would lead into the season 3 finale, and then the “Queen Banana” episode, where we’d learn Mad Mew Mew’s new superhero name and her new outfit
* ik these are all horrible ideas, but my brain will literally not let me think about anything else, and I just had to write them down
LifeOr… Screaming, Crying, and Throwing Up (then Falling In and Crashing Out of Love)
Tumblr media
Two weeks can feel like a lifetime. That's how long I've been in my Theatre Program, and a lot has happened ever since I took my first step inside the theatre where we have classes. Up until that Tuesday, I had a few other opportunities to get to know the institution I’m attending and to meet new people. During these orientations and campus days (which took place in another building), I was the most carefree person. Kind of popular too. There's not a single video on my college’s socials where I’m not in it. However, it was all fun and games because nothing was directly related to the course I was about to take. So when the day arrived to finally get to know the space and people I would spend my life with for at least three years, I was a nervous wreck. Mostly because I had made a few bad decisions the night prior, but especially because everything felt so important and fateful. This is it. All my dreams coming true. No turning back, but definitely a lot of things trying to work against me.
I remember sitting in the second row, feeling like a scared cat, and thinking to myself how close I was to crying and throwing up. I had never felt like that before. It was the most daunting and petrifying experience of my life. I also remember sitting in a circle with a few other students, from my year and the other two years, while sharing how scared I was of not fitting in and not making friends. Little did I know I would be throwing a house party two weeks later.
As I went to bed yesterday, fixing some parts of my bed that were unscrewed due to ten people being on it a few minutes earlier, I stared at the ceiling and then at the drunk message I had sent (I feel as if I shouldn’t be talking about it here, but honestly, I don’t think the parties involved would even read this). Then I woke up to the realization of how a certain aspect of my life was still the same, even with me trying so hard to fight against it. If my first week was all about (thankfully not) screaming, (literally) crying, and (almost) throwing up, the second was all about falling in love and crashing out as a result. It doesn't help that my classes are so intense, either (though I love all of them). The other day I literally felt like an animal while being chased. Contact improvisation is all about touching people’s hands and feeling that precious and sacred connection dissolve into just an exercise-driven one is something I need to work on — specially when involves people that I might be catching feelings for. I’ve also learned that I’m scared to trust, but that I can do it as long as I have someone to catch my fall and be my strong base.
Specifically, at some point of this second week, I wrote down something I’m currently obsessed with: "That's what I do: I fall in love, and I write songs". Coming up with this reflection about a recent experience wasn’t something that happened overnight. It was a process that felt both rushed and slow. One day, I was over the fog and snow of mountaintops; the next, I was large pieces of broken steel lying at the bottom of the ocean. Telling the same story about my dangerous ways of dealing with love to different friends, I got different perspectives. One was that I was still in the process of learning my lesson, but what that process looked like, I’m not even close to knowing. The other was that I was basically writing messages to people as if I were in a rom-com, which I always proudly felt was my thing but now I don’t think it is a good thing. These past few days have been so important for my inner growth. Since I moved to my apartment, I’ve been experiencing things that make me want to spend hours talking to myself as a way to cope and process everything, and while doing that, I’ve learned so much about me, it’s scary.
From realizing that, at least in the beginning, I can actually chase the guy I want (without feeling guilty), to understanding that I need to set boundaries with new mistakes that resemble old ones, I even created rules about double texting someone (maybe to help me stopping feeling bad about it once the highness of the possibilities is over). I still don’t know how I’m going to convince my brain that the type of guy I want can want me back, nor do I know how to tell my subconscious to stop looking for people who won’t like me back in the way that I want. But still, I’m trying, and even if just by a few inches, I’m getting closer to an answer.
Most importantly, almost all the fears I had on the first day went down the drain. I have friends that I can get drunk and talk shit with now. And even though I’m still scared of saying (or doing) the wrong thing, I’ll keep trying to move forward ("nostalgia’s a mind trick", as I cleverly — yet meanly — pointed out during one of my Theatre History classes). I might be scared to stand with my back straight or my head held high — afraid that I’ll look terrible — but I won’t let these body dysmorphia feelings get the best of me. Nor the past friendship traumas. I get this one life, and I’m doing it right. While doing so, I’ll take this incredible idea I saw on Instagram Reels to see every week of my college life as a TV show episode and give them episode names. The first two are in this title. I wonder what's going to be the name of the third week.
Hi Moon! Congrats on 1300 followers! I’m really new to the party but hoping I could still send in a request for the love letters! They seem so fun and sweet! If you’ve already got a lot of requests going on, or you’re just not feeling it feel free to ignore this one! <3
If you do end up taking it:
I’d love a letter from — surprise, surprise — Captain Rex <3
I go by she/her pronouns and the name phi! I’m creative (i love writing (poetry as well as storytelling) music and acting (screen as well as theatre) most, but i also draw and paint occasionally and I’ve been taking dance classes since i was like 4. I have adhd but the space-y kind, not the hyperactive kind lol (i will have my high energy moments, but typically only in large groups, one on one I’m pretty chill) i love deep talks and connecting with people and am typically the kind of person people bring all their stuff to (and I’m glad over it!) I have long, dark brown, curly hair. It’s a wolfcut with shaved sides. I have dark brown eyes, multiple lobe piercings, a septum, and the odd tattoo here and there. I am also never seen without rings, bracelets, necklaces and black nail polish. My clothes are typically all black and kinda alt as well (basically people tell me i look scary, but i end up being cute nice kid who’s wayyy to excited to make a new friend lol)
I imagine we probably met at a bar? I don’t go out often, but when i do it’s with my friends and i typically end up meeting someone new every time.
I’m guessing our relationship would just be comfortable? Idk i like the “little life” vibe, where you just have your cute one on one dates like going to the park, or building legos together or drawing together and having late night talks on the balcony or something cheesy like that. And then other nights you hang with your friends and you have a more high energy time where everyone is laughing and getting up to shenanigans but it’s kinda always followed by that quiet one-on-one connection? (Idk if that makes sense lol) also if it helps, my love languages are physical touch (biggest one) and quality time, but i always kind of imagined Rex’s being words of affirmation and maybe physical touch?
I think I’ve already been rambling for too long so I’m gonna end it here lol
If you’ve read this far thanks, and another huge thank you in advance for writing it🤍🤍
@inkstainedhandswithrings First and foremost, I apologize for taking forever with this, but I didn't forget!! I hadn't written one of these for Rex before, so this was a real nice experience. I hope you like it, and thank you for coming by to celebrate!
Tumblr media
My dear Phi,
The poem you sent me in your last letter is still the most beautiful thing I've ever read. I keep it close to me day and night; it really helps when things get particularly rough. Stars know it hasn't been easy lately. Though I guess you may get a laugh at the fact that General Skywalker threw me again - I'm learning to get used to it. I think.
I hope you and I can meet again soon, and maybe finally get to do all the things we'd planned on doing last time I was there. I'm down for a quiet evening cuddling in front of a fireplace. I could really use the warmth and the proximity. Though, honestly, I'd love to do anything if it involves being with you.
Take care, dearest. We'll be together soon.
Yours forever,
Rex
Deities...
Well...   it obvious, I dwell on topics. Probably too much. But an earworm will get into my itty bitty head.... and will not stop, on and off all day. Sometimes when I come here to write, I come too early. But my head just doesn’t have the patience to wait. Then I end up editing. This very well maybe one of those times.
My topic here, may insult some folks. Not my purpose. And it may look small and petty. Also not my purpose.
Nothing on this blog site I write is to change minds/insult anyone. Nor is it to make me look better or pity. Its my opinion well thought out or not. Hopefully its somewhat entertaining, and maybe you’ll go “hmmm”....  No, I’m not better than your or anyone else. Please just let me be me.
I grew up in a “hard core” Methodist family. It comes from the mostly German community out N. W. of Grand Island called Boelus, where my blood line comes from.
Both sets of my farming Grandparents were involved in a big way with the local Methodist church.
On one side of the family it wasn’t unusual to break into a bible study, or prayer at family get togethers.
One of my favorite Uncles, was a Methodist Minister. I still admire his history/humor/understanding.... just general presense. This guy.... wow.
As I grew up, attending church was mandatory, until I reached 16, and was working at the local Cooper Lincoln movie theatre. Hours would have me coming home late, and hard to get up early. Yeah, I’ll admit it.. I liked that.
Previously in time, I was in choir, boy scouts, God and Country, Sunday school, and more at times. Don’t forget communion.
Once in hi school an interesting Teacher, brought to my attention that maybe Christianity may not be the cure all. Something I had never considered. Being Methodist was very boring to me, and was just something I just had to do, like it or not. Other churches I had attended thru funerals/weddings, I found no better.
Then in college, one of my classes had a lecture from a civil disobedient Native American. His lecture set me off away from the church far and beyond. Honestly, he didn’t talk much about religion, but he brought forth a lot of questions that I could apply to many things I wondered/questioned in my exposure of life.
Things I ponder. Christianity is a smaller portion, of the world religions than what the churches tend to teach. Islam and Muslims are a much larger portion.
Many religions parallel.... not exactly, but similar. And boy howdy the denominations really do.
Many religions have extreme branches of definition. From peace and pleasure, to blood and destroy.
I think of these things, and witnessed 2 faced folks attending church regularly...
In the late 60′s I witnessed the “hippy” generation, and huge numbers of the Church’s youth leaving.
Why do churches have to have sooooooooo  much money?
With a bit of history diving, churches were very influential in politics, many times thorough out history. The bible has been rewritten, and edited many times. Seemingly to make the rules fit to someone's advantage, other than the gospel/church community? I’m not the best person do define bible verses, but some of the context over the years has changed dramatically.
As we advance technically, another thought comes about. Church not that long ago, was a source of entertainment/community/linking/socializing with others. Especially before radio and/or TV.  I know of several folks of the older generation, missing church was mentally hard, as they’d miss their friends.  Very similar to today and social media via www.
How do I roll?  I don’t consider myself a Christian, or affiliated with any other religion. Thats too involved for me...  even stressful now.
If a person tries thru out their life, to be a good person. I think this is all there is to it. As humans we fall down all the time. but as long as we get back up, and keep trying to do the right thing....   that’s it. Yes, the definition of “doing the right thing” can be all over the place. I didn’t say I was good at this....
The people that are very good at this (luck, fate, skill) will be remembered. This remembrance is my heaven. I hope when it all ends, I’m remembered as a good person and there are a few good stories about me.
I refuse to bad mouth religions (I have in humor... sorry), and respect them all. I don’t “pray”, but have been known to talk to myself, or my favorite “past” people. Its obvious, religion works for lots of people, very well. Guess I question to many things.
It gets me by daily. I don’t know of any high anxiety that perplexes me. I feel I have a large community around me. I’ve witnessed this community supporting my family several times.
And best of all...   I’m a pretty happy kind of guy.
My luck, I maybe completely wrong... that’s the way it usually works for me. But as a past Methodist,.....   God is all forgiving. So as I stand at the pearly gates, there will be a sign hanging on the podium “walk on in”, there will be no judgement ....   I’ll just be Bruce and walk in...
Watch your step!
The Consequences of Tiny Ceramic Frogs
Gen, Includes Artemis, Dusk, Flora, and Sun. Plus 50 assorted tiny ceramic frogs. From my Modern Au. Artemis and Dusk take a ceramics class.
For March of the Zeldas day 12
“Are you sure about this?” Artemis asked as Dusk pulled her along. Dusk was technically her niece, but they were so close in age they were basically cousins, and while they had grown apart a little bit as Dusk continued with college to become a lawyer and Artemis finished it to work with a local theatre, they still hung out occasionally.
“Little late to back out now,” Dusk replied dryly, shooting her a somewhat annoyed glance. This wasn’t really hanging out though, Dusk had somehow convinced her to go back to college to take a ceramics class with her.
Apparently, Dusk’s parents were getting concerned that she wasn’t getting enough downtime with her classes, so they insisted one of her classes this term be a relaxing arts one. Dusk had caved and gone with ceramics, which had been recommended to her by one of her classmates. Artemis was involved because Dusk, despite intending on being a lawyer, got anxious in new classes where she didn’t know anyone, and with such an open layout like ceramics was bound to be, that’d just be even worse.
So Artemis, the cousin with the most amount of free time due to her flexible theatre schedule, had also signed up for the class.
Sure, Artemis had plenty of hobbies, but after a disastrous teenage experience with embroidery she sometimes swore her fingers still hurt from, she avoided any potentially hazardous art hobbies. Ceramics, with the copious amounts of fire and sharp tools it involved, was definitely on the potentially hazardous list.
“Some of these supplies seem hazardous,” Artemis tried again, eyeing the knife in the bag. They’d had class two days ago, which had just been a supplies information thing, but now was when they started with clay, which was the terrifying prospect.
“Artemis you were literally juggling knives on your last play,” Dusk replied, rolling her eyes. “This cannot possibly be more hazardous than that.”
“Yes it can, I was juggling very dull knives, and I practiced with rubber ones for months until I got it right. It was perfectly safe.”
“And the time the floor fell out from under you unexpectedly?”
“Not that hazardous, I landed perfectly well. That just happens sometimes, I was kind of expecting it.”
“You got hit in the head by a trombone in the orchestra and got a concussion.”
“Full accident and the trombone apologized and paid for treatment.”
Dusk just gave a loud sigh and gave it up. They were here anyway. Now Artemis had to try and use these hazardous materials. Horrifying.
“Dusk look it’s so cute,” Artemis presented her tiny clay frog to her, not deterred even when Dusk glared at her for interrupting her wheel throwing. “Flora will love it.”
“Tell my sister yourself,” Dusk huffed, eyeing the frog for a bit before going back to her wheel. “Maybe make a few if you plan on trying to have one in your house. She’s going to steal them all.”
“They’re so cute,” Artemis marveled quietly, taking her tiny frog back to her seat. Now to make at least four more. As backup if Flora stole them.
Maybe four wasn’t enough. She’d make as many as she had the attention span for. If she went overboard she could always just let the theatre use them as prompts, or hand them out to her other nieces. Maybe Sun could put one in the store she worked at. Or give one to her boyfriend.
“I think you went overboard on the tiny frogs,” Dusk commented, staring in what might be horror but Artemis chose to interpret as amazement at her army of tiny frogs.
“It’s my clay, I can do what I like with it.”
“Yeah, well, maybe make a habitat for all of those frogs so you don’t have to carry them home individually. A box or something maybe. Can you even tell these apart?”
“Yes, I made them all unique,” Artemis said, picking one up, eager to show her. “This one is Sir. He serves this one, who’s a princess. She knighted him.”
“Oh no, you made up stories for them?” Dusk sounded like she was despairing over Artemis’ creativity. Too bad for her, she didn’t need to hear all about the drama with Sir and his secret girlfriend who didn’t like the princess and wanted to assassinate her.
“Artemis I meant a bowl or shelf or something to hold all of your frogs, not a castle.”
“You’re just jealous,” Artemis said, setting one tiny frog into the castle to check size again. Perfect. They fit in all of the tiny rooms. Plus there were two sides that fit together. Dusk was just jealous she couldn’t make things that were this cool. She was only making mugs and other boring stuff like that.
“It is going to take forever for you to glaze that,” Dusk warned her, and Artemis shrugged. She knew that. She had accepted that it would take ages to paint everything with glaze. That was fine, it would be worth it to have tiny painted frogs in their tiny castle. Or not so tiny castle.
“I’m going to have to use this mug for more than coffee if you continue,” Dusk despaired quietly, shaking her head at the mug in question. “You and your new tiny frog obsession are going to make me turn to drinking.”
“How would you appreciate the glory of this tiny fat frog if you’re drunk,” Artemis asked innocently, showing off the tiny fat frog in question. Flora had sent her a video of a tiny round frog squeaking and now she had several tiny fat frogs.
Dusk just groaned.
“Wow Artemis, you’re really dedicated with the tiny frogs,” one of her classmates remarked, eyeing the army of bisqued frogs in front of her with trepidation. “What are you planning on doing with glazes? Will you Raku any of them?”
“I wasn’t going to before, but now that you mention it,” Artemis mused, glancing up at the tiles for the raku glazes. They were very pretty, they would be very shiny frogs. Not food safe, but she wasn’t putting the frogs into food anyway.
The classmate just chuckled and shook their head, putting their paintbrush down. “Well, if you want it, I’m done with this raku glaze, you can use my brush.”
“Oh, thanks, I will.” Artemis started sorting out her frogs by how she wanted to paint them. The royal froggies could be the Raku ones. It’d set them apart.
“Artemis,” Sun said as Artemis brought home her first box of tiny frogs. “I think you have a problem.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Artemis said, contemplating if she should arrange the royal froggies so they were protected by the guard froggies, or if she should let them mingle with the common froggies. There were assassinations to worry about.
“Artemis that’s thirty little frogs. Dusk said you have even more of them. Why do you have so many tiny frogs.”
“Because they’re adorable and I cannot resist making more. Their castle isn’t done yet, you should see that when it’s done.”
“Dusk has sent me pictures, I already fear what will become of your room.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
Sun just huffed, shaking her head. There would be no convincing her twin that there was a problem. They were cute, but thirty was a bit much.
“So how does Sir solve this problem?” Flora asked, absolutely fascinated by the story Artemis was crafting with her tiny ceramic frogs.
“I haven’t decided if he takes his secret girlfriend and runs away to the kingdom of the rain frogs or if he tells the princess and she exiles the girlfriend to the kingdom of the rain frogs. It’s a love triangle incident.”
“What if the girlfriend secretly falls in love with the princess and realizes she doesn’t want to assassinate her anymore?” Flora proposed, nudging the girlfriend in question closer to the princess. “Then everyone’s happy and no one is sent to the kingdom of the rain frogs.”
“Oh that’ll work,” Artemis decided, scribbling that down in her notebook. “Then they can all live happily ever after. Excellent ending.”
“Soooo,” Flora said a second later. “Can I have one?”
“That would make it uneven. You can have two. Just not Sir, the princess, or the girlfriend.”
“What if I take the king and then they can rule together,” Flora suggested, scooping up the king and one of the outlying rain frogs. “These two eloped, ran away after the king met them on a diplomatic mission and fell madly in love.”
“Excellent. That leaves the throne available for the princess to take it.” Artemis set the tiny princess frog into the throne seat, setting Sir into her previous seat, and putting the girlfriend on the other side in the queen’s throne. “What about the queen?”
“She eloped too with a commoner in the rain frog kingdom, she and the king left in the same trip. But she just stayed in the kingdom instead of running away, so she’s just chillin with her new wife.” Flora picked up the queen frog in question and set her next to one of the rain frogs.
“The rain frogs must be very attractive to the royals,” Artemis said, snorting. The two weren’t the only ones to have eloped with a rainfrog, the prince did too. As did the princess’ cousin.
“They just look so cute together,” Flora said, which was definitely true. They were very cute together. Artemis definitely didn’t regret doing the ceramics course, even if everyone else regretted letting her do it.
