Hey, I just saw your most recent post and am curious about the irrelevant part - what do you mean by the ''religions abstaining from pork because it was unsafe to eat at the time'' thing? I've never heard that before and I am genuinely intrigued to know about it.
Hi !! There's a lot of religious rituals and rules that people continue today out of tradition and respect that were started (or thought to have been started) for safety/health reasons, with one big one being how meat can be handled and what meat is safe to consume! Pork is the main one that I know of since I have some friends that keep kosher or only eat halal meats
Essentially, pigs are honestly pretty gross animals if you let them be. They're opportunistic omnivores, so they'll essentially eat whatever they can get their teeth on. That includes rotting/spoiled food, fecal matter, and even people if they sit still long enough. Pigs can also carry some gnarly diseases that can easily be passed on to people. It's why you'll often hear people refer to them as "unclean" in both a religious and hygienic sense, despite their cleanliness on the outside. You might not know what Trichinella parasites are, but if your cousin shits himself to death after eating porkchops, you're gonna assume that's a sign from someone above not to eat anymore pigs
We now have modern medicine, biologists, food scientists, meat storage/serving regulations, etc. etc. that have made the risk of catching anything from pork less than minimal as long as you store and cook it properly and there hasn't been a new outbreak of something. A lot of people keep the tradition out of respect for their ancestors/culture. A lot of people also keep it because they know that pigs are still kinda gross, even with modern interventions. I've met people that no longer follow pig-based rules at all, while others adjust it so they're only eating pork if they know where it came from and what that pig ate from birth to bacon
Basically, eating a pig before the creation of antibiotics and vaccines was the peak form of fucking around and finding out. Whether you found out because of salmonella or the wrath of every deity out there (or both!) is up to you

oh btw if anyone's wondering on my thoughts about the whole... Natlan thing:
yeah I'm pretty damn disappointed with hoyo for the colorism in the design here. Not to mention the localized english butchering the original names of the Natlan characters, and the only characters that seems to have a semblance of having dark skin (Iansan) not only has an ash-y tone, but also only had around 1 second of screentime. Have I mentioned that only enemies and certain NPCS get the diversity? It's there since Sumeru but man. cmon hoyo.
I won't go in further detail on this since I'm not in the position to fully judge about the representation since I'm not in the demographic that's affected by this, but as a person of color, the colorism is still very disappointing (albeit unsurprising).
I recommend everyone to voice their disappointment on their feedback forms and emails so HOPEFULLY they fix this shit.
(also out of curiosity I compared Iansan's skin color to mine and the only difference is the saturation. I barely get sunlight per day. wtf)

I’ve been stuck on my slightly more serious sexswapped Jean fic for a while and it’s kind of a shame since writing it has really helped me with some things. I wanted to pair her up with Ace (who turned himself into a chick for one orgasm but can’t do it and is stuck that way) for laughs but couldn’t think of anything interesting to DO. But now I actually have a pretty interesting idea of them both kind of losing their purpose in music since Jean can’t use it as an easy pussy magnet and Ace doesn’t have the guitar as a dick extension thing anymore. They get together and kind of have a jam session trying to find their groove and purpose again. Honestly it’s based on how I liked the idea of guitar but never committed to it because there is such a sexual expectation with it and I’m just… not that at all irl. Might give me a reason to noodle around a bit after years of doing nothing to find some idea of how to write it

(Incoming rambling, sorry if it's a lot, this just made me think a bit, perhaps a bit to much, but still. If you don't feel like reading all this, i understand.)
Maybe it's just me being me, but i don't really see Cerise and Ocras' relationship as being sinful, if anything i think she'd get extra points for trying to help someone out who knows and admits their mistakes.
To me gluttony is when it deprives other people of what they need, not because someone likes to eat a bit extra or enjoy a snack or collect things they enjoy such as books or collectables.
While greed is when one's own financial growth depends on keeping other people impoverished and suffering and all that.
(I could go on, but i think i covered the 2 important ones.)
So by all accounts, Ocras seems he might be on his way to become a risen demon at the very least, while Cerise is probably being a bit of an egdelord (or whatever the angel equivilant of a young adult who hasn't left their angsty teenage years behind yet) right now while the other angels are just shaking their heads and thinking she's a silly goose but a good goose.
the funny thing is about sins is that they can be interpreted in a variety of different ways! to me, greed and gluttony are two things that tend to lend to each other while still being their own things, and Ocras as a demon tends to embody both (gluttony in excessive indulgence of food in a more traditional sense, greed in continuing to consume despite having more than enough for himself, to where it deprives others)
it's cool to hear other people's takes, though! i know this ask wasn't quite asking, but i enjoy having the opportunity to talk about the setting these two in particular come from! you see, the concept of "risen demons/fallen angels" does not exist and its more of an analogue i use than an actual thing.
"demons" aren't what we consider demons in the traditional sense and neither are angels. demons are just beings born from powerful human emotions and aren't inherently evil/sinful, they just embody our feelings and feed off of them. they're meant to be the more magical other half of humans, and in fact coexisted with humans until the seraphim arrived in the world. ocras was just born from someone who had a particularly gluttonous nature, but they weren't "bad" and neither is he, as you can see!
the seraphim are celestial beings that are purely rational and logical, both beyond gender and (what they believe to be) error. they dislike demons who exist purely from emotions and are capable of damaging them as their polar opposites. seraphim seek to "purify" humanity because they're inherently emotional beings, and not in line with how the universe is meant to be and operate in their eyes. they're here to correct that and make all things pure and orderly...which isn't a good thing. the concept of sin is a way of them justifying their acts.
Cerise is a little black sheep for actually leaving their people behind and choosing to love the world they're meant to destroy, so other seraphim view their acts as "sinful and impure" to condemn them to other seraphs and try to manipulate Cerise into returning home.

I love behind the scenes content for shows and movies but imo it’s gone so downhill in the past decade or so.
DVD was amazing for this stuff when it was a new. Entire documentaries on a whole separate disc! Filled with interviews and storyboards from “regular” people delighted to share how they create props and design sets and where they pull inspiration from!
Now you get content that more than anything has a vibe of “we got some of the celebrity cast to come in for a day to pal around and be quirky in hopes we get a good 7 second Twitter ad out of it”. No authenticity allowed, even if the content originated as a way to show the difficulties and passion that come with getting something to a screen. Just an opportunity more marketing fodder, baby!
