thinking about a world in which RR actually committed to the path he set Percy on in hoo (wherein Percy has become jaded, angry, and resentful at the gods for breaking their sworn promises, is frequently sympathizing with Luke, is getting more and more powerful, and frequently losing himself to wrath) and instead of the subsequent Percy Jackson books being about getting recommendation letters, we could have gotten a trilogy exploring a fallen hero arc for Percy (that would ultimately have a positive resolution to it.)

Core Gems

So when a ghost becomes injured, they have a last ditch defense where they retreat into their core. And I mean, injured badly where their body is rip apart to the point they can’t hold a solid form anymore. And they basically go into a hibernation state until they are strong enough to form again.

Ellie, Danny, and Dan are all injured in a final battle against the GIW. The organization was destroyed and the ghosts were safe but the halfas ended up being so injured that they reverted to core form and then went to sleep for a bit. When they woke up, they were still weak but at least recovered enough to gain consciousness. And realize…they are in some kind of auction…in the middle of a heist. It appeared that two furries (one in a bat costume and one in a cat costume) were ducking it out. And they…they were a necklace. All three of them had been turned into a necklace with their cores as gems accompanied by sapphires, pearls, and opals. And frankly gorgeous craftsmanship as the metal was crafted around their cores as if to cradle them and the other gems.

Unfortunately, they were too weak to take a form properly, they could still feel the strain on their bodies. But at least they could still communicate through their auras. Then the cat lady punched a hole in the glass container surrounding them and grabbed their necklace.

However, the bat grabbed the other end and it resulted in a sort of tug-a-war. Meanwhile, Danny, Ellie, and Dan were having a back and form commentary on the situation and what they should do. Completely unheard by the other party.

In the corner of their eye, the three halfas finally noticed a third contender. Some kind of clown who was…hold on…holding a gun?! And it was pointed straight at the two fighting furies who had yet to notice him. The ghosts’ protective instincts went into overdrive and they frantically tried to shout, yell, move. Just do something to warn the two but their cries fell on deaf ears. All they succeeded in doing was faintly glow which immediatly caught the attention of the fighting duo. The two turned to look at the strange necklace but right at that moment, the clown fired and a gunshot rang throughout the auction room. Having no other options, Danny and the others poured every ounce of ectoplasm they had to try and phaseshift, making the two furries intangible as the bullets passed right through them, but in their shock, the two jumped away in opposite directions and accidentally ripped the necklace apart. Gems and pearls went flying and the three cores bounced along the ground.

Luckily, the two finally noticed the clown and went to deal with him and his minions who had appeared. Seemingly putting their fight on hold and forming a temporary truce. The three halfas could only watch as the battle finally wound down, ending with the cops barging into the place and arresting the clown and his grunts, the cat managing to escape with half the scattered gems and pearls from the broken necklace along with a few other jewelry pieces (none of their cores though) and the bat leaving through a skylight.

The auction continued and in the end, despite being broken, their necklace seemed to have caught someone’s interest. A man named Bruce Wayne bought up every piece of the shattered jewelry wear. The auctioneers appeared relived that the item managed to sell in the end and gratefully gave it to him.

Bruce had no idea what happened at the auction, but he could have sworn that some of the gems faintly glowed right before he and Selina were shot. If the necklace was some sort of magical item, then he needed to understand exactly what has been brought to Gotham. It was unfortunate that Selena had taken some parts of the necklace but he utilized his vast wealth to make sure all the other parts ended in his possession. Now he would take them back to the mansion for examination.

My standard approach to those wee lil buckles on Sora's KH2 costume. I been drawing the little shits for 15 years and this way's by far the best looking for the least effort.

As usual this is drawn in Clip Studio Paint, but oughta work in any software that can add outlines to a layer (or hey, maybe you paint without lines).

If the P: EG universe had an Afterlife Theater and Wolfgang got to watch everything that had happened after his death, from the discovery of his body to Diana’s speech after the trial, how do you think he would have reacted to it all?

Horrified, to put it lightly. Like, very lightly.

First off, the state of Wolfgang's body is nothing like how he presented himself as at. Wolfgang has always made an effort to appear elegant, professional, soft and composed, from the way he dressed to the way he conducted himself. But after his death, he's left completely unrecognisable. His tears and drool leak on to the concrete floor where he lies in an almost compromising position, expression permanently twisted in terror. His clothes are drenched and wrinkled and his hair is completely disheveled-- he would be absolutely appalled at the sight of himself, because it's everything he didn't want to be. It's everything he wouldn't have wanted his last impression on his friends to be.

To add insult to lethal injury, it'd be the most horrific evidence of the cruelty his classmates are capable of. Wolfgang spent the whole game believing in them, encouraging them, making the decision to trust them despite being scared as much as everyone else. Even though he was nervous about someone abusing the drugs at the pharmacy, he still decided to trust the group. Even though he took the knife, he still went to the boiler room to try and meet with whoever sent him the note. But seeing his body, and the sheer brutality inflicted on it, would probably crush whatever hope he clung to that no one here would kill to escape. And I feel like the reveal of Eva being the culprit wouldn't bring him much relief either. Because her murder completely proved him right about her being dangerous and not having their best interest in mind, sure, but at what cost? What good would that do him now? Grace wanted her dead the most for what she'd done, yet even she was stunned to horrified silence after witnessing Eva's execution and I don't think Wolfgang would react any better. Because Eva was selfish, and she was egotistical, and too caught up in her own victim/superiority complex to see the error of her (and Damon's) ways and ended his life in such a cruel way as a consequence, but she was also a teenage girl who felt isolated and afraid and helpless and whose vulnerability was targeted by Tozu. I think listening to her excuses, however unjustifiable and clearly warped, wouldn't make him feel less mortified about her tragic end.

And Diana's speech-- that one is conflicting. Cuz I feel like hearing her still talk so fondly of him, of his kindness and the way he cared for them even after he attacked her would touch his heart a lot. He died thinking he was a failure, likely would still think he is a failure, and probably believes his actions and death would tarnish whatever respectable image of him they had, so hearing that from Diana could give him some semblance of comfort. On the other hand, I can also see him not agreeing with her speech because of that self-loathing. That he doesn't deserve for her to still speak of him so fondly after what he did to her, no matter how unintentional it was. Her declaration to follow in his footsteps, despite the way that ended for him, probably wouldn't make him feel great either (especially considering Diana's a lot more naive and trusting than Wolfgang was and therefore more vulnerable). And I think the miserable silence that followed afterwards and everyone's blatant lack of hope after the trial would be his first warning of the bloodshed that's inevitable now, and the fact that he's completely powerless to stop it.

Then there's Damon's speech about him. This one's interesting cuz I don't know whether or not Wolfgang would call bullshit on it. Cuz Damon was absolutely NOT being entirely genuine, and I think Wolfgang could absolutely recognise that. There's also the fact that Damon lied to his face and hid his blackmail from him, the only reason he even went down to the boiler room. Damon claims he wouldn't harm Wolfgang, but he contributed pretty heavily to the circumstances that got him killed. However, Wolfgang's a pretty empathetic guy, and despite him not having a great opinion on Damon he's still willing to banter and tease and engage with him in a friendly and patient manner during his FTEs. He's willing put their differences and Damon's more asshole-ish behaviour aside to treat him like a fellow classmate and friend when he sees that Damon is trying. So while I think his feelings on Damon would still be sorta complicated, I feel like he would still try to be appreciative and accepting of the way Damon tries to steer everyone in the right direction and the way he offers respect to his memory, even going as far as to praise him despite it definitely bruising his ego XD

I feel like something he would feel utterly guilty about is Grace. He told her that they'd go to the tournament together but ended up making up an excuse not to go, and now he never can again. She trusted him-- she trusted him the most-- and he lied to her, and now he'll never be able to explain to her why. We see the way his death impacted her, the way it deeply hurt her because of how much she cared about him, and that hurt is something he'd feel responsible for. Her grief over him are proof of the fact that Grace is clearly capable of trust and vulnerability and affection, that whatever he saw in her during their time together was genuine and that she's is just as affected as everyone else by the killing game, but seeing the way she was struggling and the vulnerable position she's left in by the end it'd be easier if she didn't care at all. She's heartbroken and grieving, and he can't even offer her comfort or reassure her that it'll be okay. I can imagine him being really distraught and muttering quiet apologies and explanations to her in that empty theatre knowing they'd never reach her.

In the crossover, what do the canon bros think of ccDonnie so far?

okay well that's not the best way of putting it. they're giving him a CHANCE, but they find his presence uncomfortable. leo in particular actually sees him as miserable and exhausting (and weird, he's still reeling from it. initially when he walked into the laundry room his impression of donnie was just "version of my twin that's confused and needs some comforting", but his perspective was changed FAST). they dont have the iron will and endless patience that the cc bros quickly developed as a coping mechanism. the canon bros are all traumatized too, this is post-movie after all, but they're more of kids. they're not equipped for this, they just want their brother back, and they dont know what's going on with him.

their impression of cc!donnie is not positive. they're not going to have the same kind of endurance, and it's not going to be a fun time when they do actually lose their patience and take it out on him a little. they're softening their usual bite and snark because they can tell he's anxious, but once he settles in a little their impression is going to be that he just has a naturally quieter personality. that is not the case.

raph's withdrawn because he noticed cc!donnie was scared of him and he's coming to some conclusions about that, and mikey is trying very hard to give this his all because he's still family, even across universes. it's really just leo you have to watch out for.

How do you think it would go if thrawn opened up to Eli vanto about his sister (her original name when she was little would have been Vurika before it became Borika after she married the one guy ) & brother thrass ? Do you think Eli would try to ask about them (maybe wanting to know more about them or just curious about thrawn) or try finding thrawn missing sister when he’s with the Chiss?

ooh, so this is a difficult one because I don't think thrawn really would open up to eli about these things. however, if he did, then eli would absolutely want to know more. I just don't believe he'd know how to ask about it...

in general, I think eli is curious about both the chiss and thrawn's past. but... he refrains from asking about these things out of respect. these parts of thrawn almost feel taboo, since eli still believes he's an exile. it would be a similar case here: eli would be incredibly curious, but also a little worried that anything he says might push thrawn to silence. instead, he would probably just listen (very attentively), let him talk, then hope that another opportunity for thrawn to discuss it comes up. at best, he carefully prompts thrawn while he's talking, in an indirect way (hoping to keep him talking).

personally though, I find it likely that thrawn never opens up about these things. however... that doesn't mean eli can't find out about it all. once he's with the chiss, he'll inevitably end up learning more about thrawn; facets of him he's unfamiliar with. perhaps at first, thrass and the fact thrawn is a merit adoptive; later, about his upbringing on rentor, his old name, and at last vurika. I also think that learning all this HAS to change eli's view of thrawn. as much as he's a big grand admiral of a fascist regime now, he had relatively little autonomy earlier on in life. in a way, eli had more autonomy joining the empire than thrawn did the expansionary defense fleet. thrawn wouldn't seem as invulnerable as he believed, I think.

also, knowing he had another name (vurawn), how merit adoption works (based on potential or, basically, 'usefulness'), the fact he has/had a family left behind on rentor, plus how vurika was taken away, eli would find new sympathy for him. thrawn seems even more 'human' to him — no longer a mysterious exile, but just another person carrying the same losses, griefs, disappointments as anyone else.

either way though, eli is researching this damn blueberry to hell and back once he's landed up with the chiss. his sister, too. the mitth, merit adoptives, taharim academy. whether it's by asking ar'alani or sifting through results on his questis, he'd end up learning about this stuff, and it'd likely leave him feeling vaguely sad for thrawn. I can also see him investigating where vurika ended up, regardless of how he learns about her (or how successful he is).

anyhow, thank you as always for the ask! I was quite uncertain answering this one; as I usually make clear, I am no expert in thranto (and I know relatively little about the ascendancy trilogy)! I hope it is nonetheless a semi-satisfying answer :)

Okay I was thinking a relationship that’s like SUPER chill and casual. Like literally fuckbuddies turned lovers; u stay on ur home island and he’s off most of the time. Was based close by in the first year or two y’all met and got close so he was around more often but eventually it becomes him stopping by every few months for a few weeks and the two of you keeping up contact while he’s gone. The progression from just messing around to a committed relationship is slow and largely unsaid until Beckman tells you his captain has turned down every other woman for the past two years and you realize you aren’t much searching for other men yourself; soon enough you’ve got matching rings and as untraditional as it is it works.

And I’m just thinking abt how like…….. ur happy w ur life on ur little island, it’s relatively safe all things considered under his protection and you’ve lived there your whole life and all you rlly wanna do is keep your head down and stay there. Getting involved with Red-Haired Shanks puts a major flaw in that plan but it’s easy to forget who exactly he is. He doesn’t hide it, ofc not, but he’s so… unremarkable seeming that it’s difficult to remember, especially when your interaction with him is isolated to a scant few days or weeks when he’s most at ease and the only thing he’s thinking about is you.

But………. then you’re reminded otherwise. It’s silly really, because of course you know. It’s been years since you first met him, you’ve seen the wanted posters and you’ve heard how people talk about him, but knowing in abstract—contrasted by the man who’s managed to marry you, all wide smiles and incessant drunken love confessions and never dodging a well-placed swat from your hand—is far different from seeing in person.

You board his ship for a little trip; something small, only a few days to go retrieve a gift for you that Shanks had foolishly left a few islands away, low-risk and entirely in his territory. But it all goes sideways and you’re forced, quite suddenly, to realize just who you’ve managed to fall for—and exactly what kind of power and prestige he wields—while trapped with nowhere to go but remain on his ship with him and his crew for the days it takes to return.

You feel stupid more than anything, balking like this after one (frankly minuscule) fight. You don’t leave his cabin the whole trip back. He brings you meals, holds you when he can, tells you how much the crew misses you, but he doesn’t understand just how much you’re questioning. How much, you wonder, do you really know Shanks? Bordering on ten years is quite some time but when you only see him a scant few weeks out of those years, how much does it matter?

The ring on your finger, the way he looks at you—they settle on your shoulders more like a noose now, no longer making you giddy. How long until some bitter rival of his storms your home searching for you because they can’t touch him?

How much is he worth it when the lives of everyone in your hometown stand at risk?

You’re smart enough not to pick the fight until you’ve returned. You have it at the door of your home, long overdone and frankly terrified, all but melting down once you’re truly alone with him for the first time in a week. He doesn’t yell back—doesn’t do much, after attempts at soothing you fail, except watch you with a mildly surprised expression on his face.

For the first time in years you don’t let him stay the night, or see him off when he leaves the following day. You sit up on your roof and watch his ship disappear over the horizon and assure yourself that clearly you aren’t cut out for being his.

(But two months later that ship appears again, and an hour after docking there’s a knock at your door, and you can’t help how your breath hitches when you see that red hair beyond the peephole…)
