still one of my favorite bits i ever got to commit was pretending not to know who jesus is when a street preacher was evangelizing to me. he was like "do you know who jesus is?" and i had so much time before my next bus and i wanted to know what would happen so i said no. and you know what. he had clearly never been told no to that question before because if i hadn't actually known who jesus was, his baffled and fumbling attempt sure wouldn't have told me. literally reversed the roles. now you get to stand here feeling very uncomfortable and wishing you could be somewhere else because guess what buddy, this is my bus stop, im early (and can catch like five other buses from this exact stop), and im now thoroughly invested in hearing about this mysterious jesus figure. you're locked in here with me. im eating the key as we speak. i will kill us both before i let you out of here.

Mr. Lancer is the brother of Lex Luthor. He never really had an eye for business, or invention, or innovation. He just wanted to be a teacher, spread the good word on literature. Which is the whole reason he had changed his name and moved to the middle of nowhere.

He does not appreciate his brother delivering a package in his door. Not delivering it personally, not even sending a physical person to do a drop off. Just a measly note.

What has Lex ever done for him? Nothing, that's what. So Mr. Lancer does the sensible thing. He opens the box to investigate to find - hardened ectoplasm?

Mr. Lancer knows about Danny and co. Au where Kryptonite is just hardened Ecto and is basically rock candy. Lex sends his brother a shit ton of kryptonite for safe keeping thinking 'he lives in the middle of nowhere what's he gonna do with it?' he feeds it to Danny :)

i really really love leonardo romero's inks and jordie bellaire's colors from the "i am the gun" mini telling the zur-en arrh backstory (in batman issues #128-130), so this is another loose style study

i had this frame in mind specifically, altho i couldnt quite commit to the hard inks

ALSO the concept was loosely based off the issues in legacy ('tec (1940) #698-99) where tim goes undercover and then gets nabbed by lockup and his comm cuts off in the middle of telling nightwing what's going on, which also gave us this great (but misleading) cover

The List

Danny knew he couldn't keep the existence of the ghosts a secret forever. The GIW was a clear example of that, they had managed to disband the organization but there were always traces left behind that made him anxious.

Times had changed, and while Amity was hiding behind his "small town" reputation, the world was changing. New protectors, heroes, as well as new threats were appearing. And as much as the halfa wanted to, he couldn't transport his entire town to the Realms on every occasion of danger, that would definitely be suspicious.

So he made a list. He gathered information on the heroes that had come forward and categorized them according to how easy they were to approach, or how open they would be to the existence of ghosts.

Unfortunately his "safest" choice was John Constantine, someone he wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole, so he decided to settle for the second one: The Flash.

Danny had weighed the pros and cons, but as he walked through Central City he wondered if it had been a mistake. Although it was probably too late to regret it, the speedster had already noticed him.

The main sort of gag in My Senpai is Annoying is that Futaba (mc) is very in denial about how down bad she is for her oblivious senior Takeda. The eels aren't exactly oblivious to Yuu's feelings, it's just that Floyd's affections can sort of blur the line between friendship, bullying, and flirting whereas Jade keeps his true feelings close to the chest until he is CERTAIN he has Yuu on tenterhooks.

So if a particularity in denial or stoic Yuu were to get a bit tipsy, start to sniffle and ask "Why couldn't I be your spouse?" Oh they're so fucked.

Floyd is never letting Yuu live this down. Ever. He laughs so hard you almost get kicked out of the Lounge. Since you wanna be his spouse so badly you won't argue if he starts introducing you like that yeah? Seven help you if you play sports or are part of an arts club that does performances because he's standing up and yelling "THAT'S MY SPOUSE!" at every opportunity. If you get embarrassed he just reminds you that you asked for this and mimics what you said right down to the tears (he does exaggerate it a bit). Sometime much later when you're older and well into your relationship he'll tell you what a massive ego boost that was in a way that's very sweet but you're still young rn so let him be obnoxious. He really does love you a lot, promise.

Jade is much more subtle. His smile is as wide as it is sinister and he probably does make a comment about how small Yuu is in comparison to his merform as for why they couldn't be his spouse, but he gets really close to say it. If you were sober you would probably see just how excited he is, Jade's literally shaking because finally. FINALLY. He has some confirmation of how you feel. Sort of. He gets a bit more direct with his flirtations and courtships because Jade wants you to say that sober. He wants there to be no grey areas, he wants you to shove him up against a wall and ask him why you can't be together so he can flip you around, scold you for treating him so roughly, and explain to you thoroughly, gently just how good of a spouse you can be~
