i wrote a hinny "micro"fic inspired by today's @hinnymicrofic prompt, august 5th - dementor. it is not really a microfic (not even close), sorry.

1999, october

Ginny's tried baking chocolate brownies and chocolate silk tarts; she's not great at it, everything she makes comes out looking like the surface of the moon, all hard and cratery, and none of it seems to cheer him up: he's still standing in the shower til the water's long gone cold; she comes home and he's sitting on the sofa in the dark like he didn't notice the sun went down. After a couple of weeks he asks her to stop.

"I'm stuffing chocolate in my face all day at work," he says. "Getting a bit sick of it, actually."

So she makes curries, and stir-fry, and a mushy attempt at her mother's lamb stew, but he pushes them all around on his plate until they're cold and scrapes them into the bin.

"Sorry," he says, and it's like a thump to the chest from a bludger.

He's been stationed at Azkaban. The Aurors have driven all the old guards away with a squadron of patronuses; Harry said they lit the rough sea so brightly that he could see the rotted hull of an old shipwreck on the rocks just under the water, for a moment, before they chased the dementors off into the sky. But the nasty things keep coming back, sometimes one and sometimes dozens, in sieges that last for days. It's delayed the workers fixing up the bars, modernising the plumbing, righting all the toppled-over headstones in the cemetery.

"Kingsley's got this theory," Harry explains, sitting on the edge of the sofa in a way that suggests he's going to get up any moment, "that all the—what happened there left a sort of residue, and they like it."

So Harry's been there, in the residue, sitting on his broomstick in battering wind and waves that crash with such force that their spray reaches up the highest tower and grabs at the parapets on the top. Casting his patronus over and over while dementors curl through the air around him like clouds of black smoke.

That's how she imagines it.

"So you're just thinking of me all day," she teases him, and he laughs without smiling, without touching her, and then gets up to oil his broomstick.

That night she gets into bed naked and still all damp from her shower, and he crawls on top of her right away, lips on the rim of her ear. Then tongue on her collarbone. She digs her fingers into the muscles of his back, closes her eyes, and imagines that she's taking all the dead things the dementors must dig up in him, sequestering them inside herself where they can't hurt him anymore.

But when it's over he's quiet again and keeps to his side of the bed.

"Do you still hear your mum and dad?" she whispers after she's caught her breath.

His back is turned and she's not sure he's awake until he answers, "No. Not really anymore."

"What is it, then?"

He rolls over and looks at her with the blankets pulled up over his mouth and nose.

"A few different things," he says.

The next afternoon she tries to keep busy, but she keeps thinking about those eyes, colorless in the dark bedroom and full of something she doesn't quite understand. She's immediately embarrassed but she can't help herself: she conjures a patronus of her own and sends it to him, no message, just her nimble silver mare galloping toward him across the sea.

When he gets home, he tells her (with his hands in his pockets and his eyebrows squirming) that he'd rather she not do that again.

"It's just distracting," he mutters.

That night in their bed all his little kisses are like apologies on her skin—or so she imagines. They're soft and deliberate and he's quiet the whole time.

"If you met a dementor tonight," he asks her afterward, still catching his breath, "would you still hear Tom?"

"No," she says instantly, and squeezes her eyes shut. Fred's staring eyes show up in the dark, and so do Harry's skinny legs hanging over Hagrid's elbow, but she's not sure if it'd be either of those things.

When she opens her eyes he's still looking at her, waiting.

"It wasn't even that I heard him," she says. "It was that I felt…"

All of that desperate, humiliating love she'd had for him, her only friend, author of those kindnesses that had faithfully scrawled themselves across the pages whenever she needed them, who had understood things about her that she hadn't even known about herself, who had seen her silly little heart and told her that it was beautiful. All that had gushed from her and out into the train compartment and into the ink-black maw of the dementor and she'd been so terrified and so ashamed that it had still been inside her all this time.

She doesn't say that. Eventually he falls asleep.

All that week it rains, a miserable rain that isn't really trying, just drizzling off and on interminably, and she can't stop thinking of him out there in the middle of the sea. Grey above, grey below. Hunched on his broom, wand outstretched, wringing out drops of happiness from some memory of a summer day with her—maybe. The awful truth is that she just doesn't know what it's like out there.

"So," she blurts out, when he's just coming home and stripping off his uniform robes, "are you just going to slink around like a kicked kneazle and not talk to me?"

He's frozen with his robes pulled over his head. They muffle his voice.

"Talk about what?"

"About—" she realises she's raised her voice and brings it down. "—all this we've been going through."

He frees himself and takes a minute straightening his uniform over the coat hook. When he looks up at her, he seems genuinely baffled.

"Have we been going through something?"

She just walks off and turns on the shower. She doesn't even know what to say.

She goes to bed in pyjamas. He puts out the lamp with a mumbled goodnight. The house is empty when she wakes up, disoriented in the feeble light and the rain drumming, and she feels like she must have heard something, like someone's in the house. She slips her wand off the bedside table, silently, and sets her bare feet on the floor.

The Patronus walks right through the closed bedroom door.

It ducks its antlers under the ceiling fan, which surprises a chuckle out of her, and comes up to nuzzle its face against her temple. It can't touch her, she doesn't feel it, but all the hairs there prickle and stand up, electrified with its presence. She brings a hand to the side of its long face and strokes the air.

"Hi," she breathes.

Bruce Wayne- 26 Years Before Batman

On the 4th of January, Year One, a 25 year-old Bruce Wayne returns to Gotham after 12 years abroad on 4th January, months before his first outing as Batman (Batman: Year One #1). Unless his birthday is between Jan 1-4, Bruce turns 26 the year Batman is born.

Dick Grayson- 1st Day of Spring, 7 Years Before Batman

Dick Grayson's origin story is appears in the tail end of Batman: Dark Victory, which takes place in the 4th and 5th years of Batman's career.

In its sequel, Robin: Year One, Dick begins attending Bristol Middle School. And in Batman & Robin (2009) #13, Dick, as Batman, tells the Joker he had already figured him out at 12 but The Joker doesn't appear in Robin: Year One. So, Dick is probably 11 when he becomes Robin, in Year Five (Dark Victory). Dick is 19 years younger than Bruce.

Important for later, Dick becomes Nightwing, aged 19 (Nightwing: Year One and Batman #116) in Year Thirteen.

Jason Todd- August 16th, 2 Years Before Batman

According to his death certificate, Jason Todd was 15 years and 8 months old when he died on the 27th of April (Batman Files). His birthday is August 16th (Detective Comics #790). At this time, Dick Grayson was 21, having left the Robin mantle 2 years earlier; at 19 (Batman #436). Jason is around 5 years younger than Dick. He was hence Robin for less than 2 years, from when he was 13 going on 14 in Year Thirteen up to 27th April, Year Fifteen.

Stephanie Brown- 2 Years Before Batman

Steph is 15 when she debuts as Spoiler (Secret Origin 80-Page Giant). At the same time as her debut comic, Deathstroke (1991) Annual 1 has Dick saying he, one of the oldest Titans, is no older than 21 (the age he was when Jason died). Dick is 6 years older than Steph. So Steph debuts in Year Fifteen; the same year Jason dies and Tim becomes Robin.

Steph becomes Batgirl right before her freshman year of university, aged 18, going on 19 (Batgirl 2009 #1). This is in Year Nineteen. Which means that Preboot ends in Batman: Year Twenty as Steph has not yet entered sophomore year. Convergence takes place after of course.

Barbara Gordon- 8-9 Years Before Batman

Batgirl (2000) #45 shows that Babs was already Batgirl at 18. As an adult, Babs is 5'11" and yet she did not meet the minimum height requirements for the GCPD or FBI during Batgirl: Year One. She must have become Batgirl before she stopped growing, and so was at most 16 during Batgirl: Year One. She also says that she is older than Dick in Batgirl: Year One but they must be close enough in age for them to go to prom together (Detective Comics #871). My theory is that Babs didn't go to her own prom because she skipped grades and was or felt too young so her high school prom was actually when she went with Dick to his. Babs is somewhere between 1-2 years older than Dick.

There's more evidence for this. Dick is already a Teen Titan during Batgirl: Year One and in New Titans #89 said that he knew Donna Troy since they were both 13. So Babs likely became Batgirl between Year Seven and Year Eight, when she was 15-16 and Dick was 13-14. Also, Dick and Babs have a picnic as friends 12 years before The Black Mirror, in Year Twenty, so these ages are pretty perfect.

Important for later, Babs is shot by the Joker just before Jason is killed and becomes Oracle before Tim becomes Robin. This is in Year Fifteen; she is roughly 22 here given that Dick is 20-21 at the time. No panels just math :P

Cassandra Cain-Wayne- January 26th, 2 Years Before Batman

Cassandra Cain debuts in No Man's Land aged 17 (Batgirl 2000 #1) and turns 18 on the 26th of January the following year, though she only learns this after it has passed (Batgirl 2000 #33). Later that year, Bruce brings her to Jason's grave on the 16th of August, the day he would have turned 18 (Detective Comics #790). She is 7 months older than Jason.

Helena Bertinelli- 8 Years Before Batman

Helena Bertinelli was 8 when her family was murdered and the events of Huntress: Cry for Blood takes place 15 years after, following directly after No-Man's Land. Huntress is hence 23 following No-Man's Land. Cass turns 18 soon after No-Man's land, so Helena is around 5 years older than Cass.

But, Cass is born in January and Helena could be born later in the year. Helena Bertinelli is 21 years-old during Huntress: Year One; when she becomes the Huntress. She soon moves back to Gotham after Carvinal in Venice (late Jan-early Feb), and encounters Barbara Gordon as Batgirl. Babs is at most 22 here so Babs is close to 1 year older than Helena and Helena is slightly older than Dick. Huntress debuts at the tail end of Year Fourteen.

Damian Wayne- Batman: Year Nine

Dick and Stephanie call Damian a 10 year old in Batman and Robin #2 and Batgirl #17. One takes place before Steph starts uni (since Damian appears in Batgirl 2009 #1) and the other takes place during Steph's second semester of freshman year (Batgirl #13). So Damian is 9 years younger than Stephanie. He first appears aged 9 at the start of Year Nineteen and becomes Robin later that year, aged 10.

Renee Montoya- 7th September, 19 Years Before Batman

In 52 #14, published in 2006, we see Renee's passport and date of birth: 9/7/1970. It is the 14th week of the year so she would be 35 going on 36. 52 takes place in Year Eighteen, the calendar year Damian turns 9, so Renee is 27 years older than Damian.

She debuts as the second Question in 52 #48 the same year, aged 36.

Kate Kane- 14 Years Before Batman

Kate Kane is 32 at the time of Batwoman: Elegy, in Year Nineteen, since she was in the same class at West Point as the real-life activist Dan Choi, which means that she was part of the US Military Academy Class of 2003. Damian is 10 at the time so Kate is 22 years older than Damian.

Tim Drake-Wayne- Batman: Year One

Tim's age is THE weird one because DC are hellbent on keeping him at 17. It's too much for my brain, like how is he still 17 in Red Robin?? Let's say he seems to be only a year younger than Stephanie Brown a la Secret Origins 80-Page Giant or that he was bitten by a strange vampire bat during the One Year Later time skip. Your pick.

Fun fact: Dick permanently becomes Batman at 25 (in Year Nineteen), which is possibly the same age Bruce was when he became Batman.

the sun/moon theory doesn’t actually make sense

The pictures above are from 9/23/06, which was the only time that Ryan wore blue makeup at the same time that Brendon wore yellow makeup. The guys weren’t the ones who came up with their look, either. That makeup came from Pieter M van Hattem’s heavily styled photoshoot earlier that day and then the band wore the leftover makeup to the Boost Mobile RockCorps performance.

Now fast forward almost a year to when they were working on Pretty. Odd. songs...

The Pretty. Odd. lyrics had a lot of weather references because the band wrote most of the album while sitting in Ryan’s backyard on drugs and looking at clouds or whatever you see at night in the desert. Brendon told the Boston Globe that “I’m sure if the weather was really horrible, [the new album] might’ve sounded different. It definitely needed to be what it was for us to write those songs.” Brendon also said:

“We spent a lot of time outside when we were writing the record. We wrote it in the hottest month of the year in Las Vegas. We had a weird sleeping schedule, too. We pretty much stayed up all night and slept during the day just because it is so hot there. So we spent a lot of time looking at the stars and enjoying and experiencing the weather so I think that had a very direct influence on us.”

Then weather and clouds and nature became part of the Pretty. Odd. era’s early theme that the band talked about (also look at the custom car they designed, or the set design for the Honda Civic Tour where Ryan said they wanted to make it feel like the show was happening outdoors). Flowers, weather, the sun & moon, and nature in general were part of that era because that’s what influenced the band while they were writing the songs (and also Jon Walker exists lol. he had a major influence on that album). A big theme with their songwriting in summer 2007 was to keep things simple & lighthearted.

WTDMTN was one of the early songs that they wrote that summer (the band played it for the first time on August 5th). Their interviews made it sound like the guys just watched night meet day a lot that summer, took some drugs, and wrote a cute story. Jon seemed so happy with that song’s fairy tale quality too! He said “We had this idea that the day and the night met each other… it’s basically a fairytale story about two times a day falling in love with each other and the world being day & night at the same time consecutively somehow.” Ryan said this song was like a kid’s story. He had also spent over half a year working on the cabin album’s fairytale-esque storyline (with Spencer’s help) and it had become so elaborate that he was considering writing an accompanying book. Just because they scrapped the cabin album and majorly switched directions for their second album doesn’t mean they lost all of their previous interests... it made sense that they might still gravitate towards a fairy-tale quality a bit.

I think the idea that anything on Pretty. Odd. could actually have some Ryden subtext comes from people who weren’t closely observing the season when the band wrote those lyrics. Brendon & Ryan were not that close in the last half of 2007. Ryan was way better friends with Jon by that summer... they talked about living together, watching movies or writing songs together in the middle of the night, going bowling or to see movies, etc. They were definitely close. There were pictures of them hanging out offstage. Ryan hung out with a lot of other Vegas friends throughout 2007 too. Meanwhile, Brendon talked about hanging out with Spencer and Shane that fall. Brendon & Ryan were together when they had to do band-related events (but even a few of those moments showed a shifting dynamic between the two guys). The guys were definitely still friends! But it’s a stretch when you try to paint a picture where they were in love & obsessed with each other this season to the point of writing lyrics about each other.

The only part of all the sun/moon conspiracy stuff that even slightly works is the idea that Jon Walker might have used the reference as a code in his post-split lyrics to get his own point across (ex: then his lyrics would imply that he doesn’t need Ryan & Brendon to tell him what to do). That doesn’t mean anything beyond the fact that Jon had always been super aware of what the fandom was saying and knew how to communicate on our level. Seriously, he followed the talk online in 2006-2007 SO closely and would even leave subtle references in his journal entries to things the fandom was talking about. Sometimes he was just messing with us (example at the bottom of this post). Some fans had actual “hi Jon” icons on lj towards the end of the Fever era because most people knew he was watching. In October 2006 the PATD livejournal got set to private for a short time and Jon posted on the band’s website “whats with the live journal being down, someone fix it :(” because now he couldn’t properly creep on that particular fan community while the band was on tour lol.

He shared SO much of his photography with fans (including in the band’s album and his picturesatthedisco photobucket) and was just way more involved with us than the other 3 guys. So any sun/moon reference that Jon might have made in his own lyrics later on doesn’t exactly prove anything about the whole Ryden sun/moon conspiracy. It only proves that Jon was still in touch with his fanbase and could use their references.

Legends Z-A Thoughts and Theories!

Okay, I was pretty quiet on my opinions for Scarlet and Violet, but I'm confident enough to be very pleased and optimistic for this! Legends Arceus was the strongest Pokemon game we had in a decade, and to see them continue this, bring back Megas, and take an extra year to hopefully make it non-buggy? Makes me so so excited!

On Megas:

It's a bit of a surprise to see Megas back, but honestly? Not too much of a surprise. Even ignoring the inevitability of Kalos remakes, Megas are the only gimmick Pokemon kept around in their spinoffs. It was in Mystery Dungeon, Shuffle, Smash Bros, Pokemon Go, and probably more I'm forgetting! So it was always in the back of Gamefreak's mind and I'm glad it's truly back again!

With Gens 8 and 9 bringing back cross-gen evos, I think they'll focus on only giving Megas to three-stage lines, to not quash the potential of 2nd stage Pokemon getting regular evolutions. So starters and Pokemon like Flygon can get Megas since they can't evolve further, but Pokemon like Tropius and Chimecho probably won't, in case they get evolutions in Gen 10 (That then get Megas)

I also don't think we fully grasp how many more Pokemon can get Megas now, too. Barely any of Gen 5 and 6 had Megas (Seriously only 2 Pokemon between the 228 Pokemon in those gens) and we've had THREE more generations since then!!

Note: We went from wanting a Dunsparce evo, to wanting a Dunsparce Mega, to getting Dudunsparce with mixed fan reception. Now I'm going to be a selfish deluded clown bitch and get my hopes up for a Mega Dudunsparce.

Speaking of starters and Megas, do we think we'll get a mish-mash of older starters for this game that then get Megas (Say, Piplup, Snivy, and Scorbunny) or will we get Megas for the three Kalos starters?

Megas may mean Mega Stones return as held items, and held items weren't in Legends Arceus- new gameplay advancement?

Legends Arceus gave us 7 new Pokemon (most of them cross-gen evos) and a dozen new regional forms. Do you think we'll still get regionals this game, or will the design team be focused more on making new Megas instead?

On the world:

It's been confirmed the whole game is only in Lumiose City- how big is the map?? Hopefully we really do get lots of sidequests, biomes for wild Pokemon, and traversal options.

When is this? We're redeveloping Lumiose City, but are we in the past developing it into its current state, or are we in the present/future developing it into a new solarpunk city? Or neither, and this is a "Paradox" game set in a timeline which doesn't quite match ours?

This doesn't have to be an isekai (as in, we don't have to be time travellers again per se), just keep that in mind!

The "Z" in the logo represents Zygarde, with the black color and green hexagons. So who's the "A"? It's green with green scale/leaf patterns on it. What does it represent? The "Chaos" to Zygarde's "Order"? Is it a 5th Zygarde form or is it a whole new Pokemon?

Meta thoughts:

This further confirms my theory that Gen 9 will last until 2026, where they announce Gen 10 on that year's Pokemon Day for their 30th anniversary, and that's great! I'm glad they aren't overworking themselves too much compared to Gens 6-8.

On them "skipping" Unova remakes: I don't see this as skipping. We've been long overdue for a Z version since Kalos is literally the only Pokemon region to only appear in one release (no third version, no remakes, no sequels, no ultras, no DLC). So we're simply making up for the "deficit" of a third version here, and we can go back to focusing on Unova remakes for Gen 10.

Do you think we'll get any final updates to SV to tide us over until the next LegendZ trailer around August? Maybe a small DLC, mythical reveal, or free update?

Pokemon Adventures skipped the last Legends game, so they'll probably skip this one too? I'm fine either way- at least by skipping it, they won't be too rushed and stressed, and they'll actually have the time to flesh out SV and catch up with ORAS/SM/USUM/SwSh in the full volumes.

But on the off chance they do adapt Legends Z-A, do you think we'll get dexholders named Z and A??

Note for the future- the Yoasobi Pokemon song BiriBiri has a part where they namedrop all the game titles- one part has the lyrics "ABC to the XYZ". Long shot, but if Legends Z-A does indeed have an ABC theming, this could be a crazy bit of either coincidental or intentional foreshadowing!

WHY DOES OUR EARTH HAVE ONLY ONE MOON??

One way of categorizing the planets of our solar system is to divide them between terrestrial and jovian. The terrestrial planets, Mars, Earth, Venus, and Mercury only have three moons between them (Mars has two, Phobos and Deimos, and the Earth has one).

The Jovian planets, by contrast, are teeming with moons: At latest count, Jupiter has 67, Saturn has over 60, Uranus has 27, and Neptune has 14. As NASA's New Horizons probe approaches Pluto, it's counting five moons in orbit around the dwarf planet.

Current astronomical theory suggests that a planet can acquire a moon by one of three possible ways:

It's believed that Earth got our moon through the first theory. Many scientists believe that a Mars-sized body known as Theia collided with Earth around 4.5 billion years ago.

The second theory explains how Mars got its moons, since Mars sits close to the asteroid belt and it could have possibly grabbed Phobos and Deimos from there. Theory two may also explain Pluto's five tiny moons.

Pluto's smallest satellites, Nix and Hydra, are little icy bodies floating around the Kuiper belt which probably got too close and trapped by Pluto's gravity. The accretion disks in the third theory is probably how Jupiter and Saturn got so many moons of their own.

Of the hundreds of moons orbiting planets in our solar system, some may have geological features so similar to Earth, many think they could be good candidates for life. Jupiter's moons Ganymede may have a salty ocean and Europa may have more water on it than Earth!

“Come on Daniel…Come on….” Alessandra whispers under her breath as she practically smothers the pillow pressed tightly against her chest. Her heart was working overtime. Thundering away rapidly. It was working so hard that she could feel it in her throat as she struggled trying to get a much-needed breath. Her lungs felt heavy, as the fluttering on top of them didn’t cease for one single moment.

It was close to the end of the race and Daniel was scrapping away at the lower end of the grid, desperately attempting to get into the points. Alessandra’s whole body felt tight and tense as she willed the red Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel to get out of the way so he could at least get a much-needed break.

Laps went by and nothing was happening. She felt so frustrated for him. The clock was ticking down and she felt like oxygen was as thick as smog. Then her eyes began to sting and she knew what that meant. This was what had happened all season. Every race Alessandra would reach a point where tears began to form in her eyes. Every second Daniel spent on the track, not gaining positions, overtaking or simply just doing well, had her eyes fill with tears. He was so much better than that. He had proved it time and time again. It was just this year, more so than ever before, he was mysteriously struggling. People in the know were deep diving into all the possible reasons why but Alessandra had her own theories. And yet, she would never share a single one with him. She was supposed to be his solace not his cause for frustration.

As Hamilton crossed the line, taking another first to add to his countless pile of trophies, she knew Daniel had run out time and the tears finally trickled slowly down her cheeks. A single loud, exasperated breath finally expelled from her lungs. This wasn’t what she had hoped for at all. She hadn’t even been praying that he won or get a podium, just come somewhere around 5th or 6th. Just somewhere in the realms of Max at least. But another race and another time his teammate had been within touching distance of a podium finish. Leaving Daniel furious and frustrated with no one but himself.

While wiping away the last tears that had fallen, she turned off the TV and anxiously picked up her phone. He wouldn’t even be out of the car yet and she desperately wanted to talk to him. Wanted to tell him that he drove well and it was just an unfortunate day. His voice echoed in her head the last time she had chalked it up to a bad run of fate. Fate doesn’t play a part in this sport. I fucked up. I couldn’t perform so it’s all on me, Ali. It genuinely did make her shiver when she thought about how hard he was on himself. Getting off the plush bed, she still felt the anxiety. It still rippled through her body. Watching him race made her feel like a worried parent dropping their kid off for their first day of school. Overtakes and pit stops were worse than that time she went skydiving with her friends in university. And sadly, the high of winning was too long ago for her to really remember what it felt like. She left the room. Wanting to be anywhere than where she had just watched another poor race.

The mountain lodge truly was more beautiful than all of the pictures Daniel had shown her. She had only arrived last night. Tired and exhausted from the long 15-hour flight her body carried her straight upstairs to bed. She only woke up on the third alarm she had set so she didn’t miss Daniel’s race. She looked at her phone again and it had only been a few minutes.

“Fuck!” She swore under her breath. She didn’t want to text him to let him know she was thinking of him. It wasn’t personal enough and he wouldn’t see it straight away either. This was one of the things they argued about. She felt so helpless not being able to console him and it went against her caring nature to just sit back and wait for him to reach out first.

However, stepping out onto the wooden porch she inhaled deeply. The nice mountain air helping to ease her sore chest. The pressure in it still apparent but slowly, as she felt her body relaxing, it began to dissipate. She needed this time to just let her mind drift away from Daniel. She needed it to think about the week ahead and not about the things that had transpired during the season. Not motorsport wise but things that had transpired between herself and her boyfriend. As she sat down on one of the large wooden chairs overlooking the view, she was sure that Daniel would already be on the "lets relax and have fun" game plan when he arrived so she needed to jump on board that train too.

The thought of seeing him so soon made her body vibrate with excitement. It hadn’t been long but it had been a long time since they were together. Together together. Since they were alone together. Where they could be as happily in love as they wanted without the looming fear of being caught consuming him. She pushed their own painful struggles to the back of her mind when finally - after what felt like an eternity – Daniel called her.

His voice sounded so deflated. It sounded wounded and it hurt her ears. But as always, he tried to shrug it off. Deliberately steering away from discussing the race with her. She didn’t blame him but would have liked the chance to tell him that she had been watching and today was down to tactics. She remembered when he all but scolded her a few months ago when she tried to say the same thing. But she pushed it to the back of her mind. It was when he said her name that she zoned back into their conversation.

“Where are you now?” Her voice was shakily trying to recover from the way she hadn’t been listening to him.

“Walking out of the paddock. We’re uh, going to go grab a bite to eat I think.” That was good. It was a way for him to de-stress before he caught the flight out to come join her.

“What time is your flight? I can’t wait to see you.” She brought it back and suddenly she was met with a slightly unnerving silence.

“Uh…” He stuttered and it was as if he was talking to someone else. She guessed it was probably Michael – or someone else that had caught up to him as he was leaving for summer break. “uh, when is the flight…its early in the morning. We should be with you two in afternoon I think.” He sounded tired. He really, really needed this break. They really needed this break.

“I have something for you when you get here. I think you’ll really like it.” Alessandra tried to sound suggestive, even at the early hour of the morning that it was beside her. She was waiting for him to bite. To ask her if it was something he could take off of her body or something they could maybe use together. But he didn’t. The wave of disappointment washed over her but yet again, she had to remind herself that he was coming off of a bad race and would be in public. She tried a different tactic.

“You know how you really like that little white lace set I bought in Paris last time I was there? Well, just because I want to spoil you…” Suddenly she was interrupted.

“Uh, Ali, I have to go. I’ll see you tomorrow ok.” The call was ended before she even had a chance to say goodbye to him. What the fuck? She thought to herself. What the hell was that about? She hadn’t spoken to him in nearly two days and here he was cutting her off when she was talking about lingerie? Daniel never cut her off when she was talking about lingerie. It was strange to say the least.

But then, things got stranger.

3rd of August 2020 - Montana

Alessandra paced back and forth as she dialled the number she had for Daniel’s manager Blake. She had only met him twice and Daniel had only given her the number in case of an emergency. This is a fucking emergency! She reminded herself as she anxiously bit into the skin around her thumbnail. It had become red, inflamed and sore and yet she couldn’t stop chewing on it out of complete and utter worry. The skin throbbed just like her heart was throbbing. Where the fuck was he? He should have been here hours ago. Daniel should have landed in Montana around five pm and as the clock on the wall struck 2am, he was more than 9 hours late. If he had been delayed he would have texted her, right? He would have let her know that he was being held up. It was only a few lines of text. He could do that.

3am, 4am, 5am all came and went with no word. She had passed rational thought a long time ago. Around the same time as it dawned on her that she really wasn’t a part of his life at all. She didn’t know his parents number to ask them if they had heard from him. The same went for his friends and his sister. She didn’t have any contacts to his team to ask them if something was going on within the team that would have delayed him. He hadn’t told her what airline he was flying with, or even if he was flying commercial or via jet. He had told her nothing about his own plans other than the day and time he would arrive. Something that by now, she had realised he had given her wrong. He had expected her just to sit pretty and wait. Several times, while she paced and tried to rid herself of the horrible feeling that was bearing down on her, she had to remind herself that there would be a very logical explanation to it and her panic was unnecessary. That was exactly it, Daniel had gotten mixed up and made a simple mistake. He would probably have his phone off in the airport to conserve battery. Or that she had even heard him wrong on the phone. Maybe he actually said:

In two days, afternoon AND NOT Tuesday, afternoon.

By 10am the next morning she had exhausted herself and was fast asleep on the sofa in the lounge. Not only had jet lagged hit her like a tone of bricks but the stress and worry of Daniel’s missing state had taken a mental toll on her as well as a physical one. Instinctively, while deep in sleep, she pulled the blanket around herself as if it was going to offer her any form of protection from bad news she might receive. Because by now that was where her mind went. She had started going to the worst. Before her eyelids gave out and closed for good at 7:43am, she was scanning the Internet so find news of plane crashes. She had checked his flight number against some Internet website and it said the plane had landed safely exactly on time. Which caused her to panic even more. With tears in her eyes it dawned on her that perhaps he wasn’t coming. He was actively ignoring her and asked Blake and Michael to do so too because he was actually dumping her. In all honesty the thought had crossed her mind several times over the past few months but she had always chalked it up to her own insecurities. Not every man leaves. She would remind herself. And in all honesty, she didn’t think this would be Daniel’s style. He was to honest for that, too upfront and too genuine to send her away to a lovely lodge only to not show up and leave her high and dry. Wasn’t he?

She awoke with a startle when her phone rang on the coffee table in front of her. Vibrating against the wood with a sound that mimicked the thundering heart she had all night. It wasn’t Daniel. It was her friend Rosa from back home calling. Rosa knew about Daniel and her – one of the few people who did – and so she had been frantically texting her to release some of the distress she had pent up in her body.

“Is he still not there?” She asked tentatively

“No.” Alessandra replied and she knew exactly how she sounded. The sound of her own voice threw her straight back to being a vulnerable 9 year old who watched her father walk out and never come back. It was a voice that very, very few people (including Daniel) had heard pour from her. She locked it away to preserve the woman that she had built herself into. Never wanting to go back to that place of utter destructive hurt.

“I checked for plane crashes and…”

“Now stop! Your mind is going to the worst Ali.” Rosa immediately pulled her out of the worst possible reason why Daniel hadn’t shown yet. “He’s probably missed his flight. You know what guys are like. If he’s anything like my Rudy then he would have been flying by the seat of his pants to catch it in the first place.” Rosa was trying to make her laugh. She was trying to do anything that would stop Ali from going into a major panic attack. But Rosa didn’t know that that had already been and gone, three times. The exhaustion of just one totalled her but three, the effects were still there in her shaking hands (even if she had slept it off).

“Listen, if he isn’t there by the time he should have landed yesterday, you call his parents...” Ali was the one to interrupt now.

“I can’t. I’ve only met them once and I don’t have their number.”

“Ok, that Red Bull guy then…Hornet or whatever.”

“I don’t have anyone’s number from there either.”

“Jesus it’s like you don’t exist in his world.” Rosa didn’t mean it in a bad way. She was simply stating a fact and Ali knew this. It was exactly what she had been telling herself for months. She took a deep inhale riding herself of the negative thoughts that were beginning to flood into her brain.

“Ali, it’s going to be ok. He will come striding in the door any minute. I promise.” They didn’t talk much longer. She wanted the phone clear in case he called her. Rosa was right. It was going to be ok. Even if he was in fact dumping her, it was still going to be ok.

Finally, at 4pm, the sound of loud laughter rang through the hallway of the massive mountain home. Unmistakably loud laughter that could only belong to one man. Followed by the sound of heavy bags being dropped on a stone floor and voices. Rushing as fast as her feet could carry her, out of the bedroom - she had been trying to distract herself by making nice - down the corridor and the stairs. It left her stood facing the scene before her. Daniel was there all right. But so were Blake, Michael and two other men she didn’t know.

“Hey!” Daniel exclaimed as he flung his backpack on top of his luggage and the emotions running through her in that second were wild and plentiful. She wanted nothing more than to rush at him and slap him till his cheeks were red and covered in welts. But then she had spent the last 24 hours dying inside that something had happened to him so wanted to kiss him all over like her life depended on it.

“What is it baby?” Daniel asked so fucking nonchalantly she really was verging on hitting him. “Sorry were late.” He said finally and came up the two or three steps she was standing on and his arms engulfed her. His powerful strength on full display when he picked her up clean off her feet and held on to her with a vice grip. "We took a later flight."

“I was worried.” She could barely get the words out. They were thick and felt dense in her throat. Three simple words felt like stormy rain clouds as they slipped quietly passed her lips. “Why didn't you let me know?” She managed to get out but it was met by a strong kiss against her non-expectant lips. The thought breezed through her brain that it was to shut her up as the next thing she knew he was back down amongst the guys away to sort out luggage. It was as if he was embarrassed to be showing emotions toward her. As though the kiss was too forced. As if he didn't actually want to be doing it at all. Again, Ali pushed these negative intrusive thoughts to the back of her mind. He had been late and he hadn't told her of his change of plans. Don't make it a fucking big deal, you idiot. Don't pick this particular fight. She ordered herself as she joined the guys down on the foyer and passed smiles toward the gathered men. The exact same ones that weren't supposed to be here. So much for it just being us!

“Is anyone going to help me with these?” The very much surprising voice of a female came from the open doorway. Ali’s eyes travelled from her boyfriend to where this girl stood. Honey coloured hair and summer tan were what her eyes took in first. Then a very toothy grin and ocean blue eyes followed. Nothing registered apart from those features. The girl was beautiful alright. And she was the complete and utter opposite to her. Ali’s brain filled with confusion she looked from the girl and back to the group before as if her brain was making it up – as if she was having the worst nightmare imaginable – Daniel turned with a grin and helped her inside with her suitcase.

While her boyfriend acted like the knight in shining armour for some other girl. Ali immediately turned to Michael. He would tell her the truth, wouldn't he? Before the words could leave her mouth she paused. Did she really want to know whatever Michael would reply to her? Fuck it. She decided to do it anyway.

"Michael..." He turned and smiled sweetly at her. "Who is she? Is she one of the guys girlfriends?" It was a much nicer way of asking who the feminine intruder than she had initially thought of in her head. But she didn't want to seem like a bitch.

"Uh no.....She's, she uh....she's a friend of Dan's."

A friend of Dan's? Her Dan? Her boyfriend Dan?

Then she really did think; What the fuck is going on?!

Here we are again… back again with another year down. Wow time really does fly by doesn’t it? My Anniversary for my tumblr was back in August but I was not really active until near the end of the year, (sorta) So I’ve decided to welcome the new year, with a ‘get to know artist’ post. I should’ve done this a while ago but I didn’t think of it till now. 😘

I will warn that this is much longer then intended, so maybe a 10 or 15 minute read, also warn of some profanity but mostly for phrases.

I will be answering basic art related questions and Obey Me! Questions near the bottom. (Which is the part that is much longer than I intended it to be)

Basic questions

Hello everyone, you may call me Miki, I’m a Obey Me! (Mostly a side characters) and OC artist. I don’t have a preferred pronounce so you may refer to be however you like!

Age: old enough to commit tax evasion. (Adult) 😘

Favorite color: good question I don’t actually have one I think lots of colors are pretty. 🥰

Birthday: April 5th (Aries?)

How long have I been drawing?

I’ve been drawing for about 3ish years, however the first year and half was on and off.

Would I be a good art moot?

If I’m being honest I’m more shy and people scary me, so if you would like to be friends you might need to approach first…. But I do have small surges of courage to message first sometimes! How my friends would describe my personality…

To be honest I’m all over the place with my art….

Commission?

I have been thinking about open commissions and I think I will some time this year, but I’m a bit of a noob with rendering so I will practice before then!

A Fun fact: I’m a cat in a human’s body and need at least 10 to 12 hours of sleep to feel full rested, this also causes my sleeping schedule to get messed up. :P

What type of crime would I get arrested for?

Arson, honestly fire is so pretty when it burns things…. Has a weird magical feeling when you watch it….

An art advice?

I’m honestly still an artist noob so take what I say with a grain of salt. But for those starting out drawing, don’t worry about finding your art style it will develop in time while you learn and improve as well when you discover your likes and dislikes. I know one of the common advices usually given to find an art style is to reference off your favorite artists, it can work for some but for many others this advice doesn’t work, sometimes it can create a perfection of wanting to copy someone else art style or getting frustrated that it doesn’t look similar to your favorite artist style. But I promise patience and practice will pay off, don’t be afraid to indulge a bit out of your comfort zone and explore different styles, besides you may find yourself surprised with what you discovered.

What and when did you play obey me?

I start back in early April, I kept getting ads for it on my Instagram and at some point I got tired of seeing it (and thought somebody in the universe really want me to play the game) and decided to play it, I didn’t think much about it and it was mostly something to kill time and I could have deleted it later when I got bored.

Did I mention that would be almost 4 years ago? (April 3, 2020)

Which of the brothers and side characters would I get along the best?

If I’m being honest I feel like I would get along with the majority of the cast, there always seems to be something I have in common or could do with the characters, I’ll start with the brothers first and also keep it short.

Lucifer: listening to classical music together or attending classical music concerts.

Mammon: ??? (actually the least brother I have common with)

Levi: video games, discussion of franchises and theories, etc.

Satan: appreciate cats and learning new things and intake of knowledge.

Asmo: I’m a rat so I love me some gossip while also doing self care. 😘

Beel: late night food runs or sneaking in the kitchen late a night to eat something (I do that in RL anyway)

Belphie: honestly sleeping buddies and anti lucifer club but I luv luci but still would like to occasionally join in the pranks. 😘

Diavolo: I honestly wouldn’t hang around with Diavolo if I’m being honest… just not much in common and other factors but I’m not going to elaborate.

Barbatos: I love me some good tea, some delicious food, pastries and barbatos company. 🥰

Simeon: honestly reminds me of some type of nice coworker and would just see him occasionally. (Still a pretty boy tho)

Luke: I’m the second or first sweets tester, I’m eat up those pastries and protect the bby. 🥹

Solomon: It works and I won’t elaborate. But I will say I will be with Solomon and Barbatos on a hot summer day with the AC on full blast cause we can’t stand the heat. (I heat up so quickly and are much more prone to a heat exhaustion, so you probably guessed that summer isn’t my favorite season.) 😘

First character crush?

If I’m being honest I didn’t really had one? But I had a very light crush on mammon. If that counts for anything.

Current crushes?

This should be a no brainer but old man and surprisingly barbs. Which i feel like many wouldn’t know since I rarely draw him (exact a few times) or ever mention me having a little crush about him. 😗

Favorite obey me outfits or event?

I would say the chief/apron from the brothers and for event I think the vampire event is my favorite. 🤔

My current Remi theories

Agghhh I’m very late….but here we go ^^;

TIMELINE SPECULATION

Okay so first of all again starting with a timeline. Now Remi’s recordings seem like they could be over the course of multiple years? So since as far as I’m aware we don’t know what year tsumigram takes place I’m going to be referring to the first paragraph of recording one as year 0001 and then if I believe the year changes 0002 so on and so forth so keep in mind I’m not actually referring to the real life years 0001 , 0002 , 0003 ect ect.

“Summer is ending. Let's stop already, how long are we going to chew on this cold food?” End of august

“Spring is ending. We part and come back together, this must be a form of true love for you; though as for me, I'm not so sure.” End of may

“Winter is ending. Closeness never matters; they switch their opinions in an instant, and always, always, always, always choose someone else instead.” End of February

“Autumn is ending This was a game of play-pretending for everyone but me; right, I wanted a place I and others could belong to, but as I've seen through lies, I'm burning down the theatre..” November/December

“Summer is ending. You simply disappeared without a word; I didn't care, did I care? Too many people, I get lost.” End of August again

Now there are two interpretations since the memories from this recording if my research is correct :

-1) the memories take place over the corse of five years which explains why we start in august the 8th month of the year and then go to the 5th , 2nd , 11/12th and finally back to 8th assuming the recordings are chronological then this is the only answer that really makes sense

-2) the alternative would be that the paragraphs are in reverse order so then you’d go 2>5>8>11/12>8

but I personally lean more towards them being in chronological order because there feels like a progression. In paragraph one Remi asks the other why they are still in this relationship? The relationship to borrow Remi’s metaphor had gone cold then in the next paragraph they seem to be on better terms but still not great then 3 we are back to the relationship being strained and getting worse…it won’t make alot of sense for us to start with “you simply disappeared” and end with “how long are we going to chew on this cold food? = how long are we going to prolong this dying relationship?

The only thing really giving me pause is that its such a long time. 5 years! Remi is 18 thats just under 1/3 of her life time…it makes me feel like I’ve made some mistake in my research….

moving onto the second memory

“Ah, my first ever wish made on New Year night was to meet a true friend. I imagined my own friends, and this is how I became a writer, slowly but surely. I met real friends to grow up with, slowly but surely, but all of them were condescending, and I got trapped in a small box of expectations. “ because its new years eve December 31st

“Warm snowflakes falling from the night sky, the stars are never seen in the city; I watch myself looking up from the sidelines, holding onto the lantern as my last hope.” Now personally I interpret the warm snow flakes line as describing the stars rather than actual snowflakes as warm snowflakes is a contradicting description and the fact the next line literally talks about the stars with that in mind the lantern is the only clue as to wear to place the memory now I’m not fully sure on this but the main Japanese lantern related thing I could find was Toro Nagashi now I’m a little iffy on this since from my research Toro nagashi is mostly about the dead and guiding dead souls but I did see a few places mention wishes “Toro Nagashi is a summer tradition in which people make wishes and float paper lanterns down a river” again I’m really not sure about this but its the best connection I could find so far…this slots (assuming the toro nahashi connection is correct) this memory at the 13th - 16th of August or July.

Now moving on to what I think remi’s crime is…..I have not idea! That is the reason why this is so late because I am completely lost on what it could be :)

clearly remi was in some sort of unfulfilling relationship were she felt she was giving more then taking , felt neglected and like it was dying for a long while before it actually ended. So her victim is probably that person?

Like yes it could be a large body of water was involved if so probably the one implied here “a wave of crystal water covering my ankles,”

Her murder location does look like a lake surrounded but trees to me? But that could just be the distortion. That what go me started down the whole drowning train of thought.

Once again moving on. Time to tackle these two images , her memory recordings and her undercover.

Starting with the memory recording this is alot more abstract then hotaru’s so I feel like the symbolism in it can be read into more. Remi is in space and I feel like space is probably a metaphor for her relationship. Space is cold and a vacuum you can’t speak or be heard in space (without special equipment and the whole no speaking thing is more that if you open your mouth you die and boil/freeze alive but lets put the logistics to the side for a minute) she is surrounded by other planets (possibly reproductive of the other people like the other people implied by lines like “ tender girly laughs from all sides.” / “I wanted a place I and others could belong to” / always choose someone else instead“ ect) and how planets and other celestial objects go in set orbit going round and around on the same path could be seen as similar to how remi describes the relationship “So tiring. I need to break the cycle.” There’s falling star’s in the bg which could refence wishing stars or possibly the concept of star crossed lovers? Or wishing

I attempted to map the planets from the art to our solar system which again not sure if its ment to be our solar system or just a general space setting but if it is our solar system then perhaps we could read into the fact that in this context remi would be on the outer side of the solar system far away from the sun and in the colder part of the system.

I really don’t feel like I know enough to vote her anything….? I went with victim in the end because I didn’t really feel like I had any strong concussion on her situation but I feel like I gotta be missing something cuz it was 50% predator when I originally wrote this section.

The Jacksepticeye Cinematic Universe: Chase Brody

The 2022 Revival with the return of the JSE egos & newly established universe. Ready or not, for a 5th time buckle up once again.

And here we go!

May 20th

Jack himself on Discord promises there will be new ego material;

May 22nd

On JSETWT (a community Twitter page), Jack also responds to a post about missing Chase & saying that “he’ll be back”.

May 23rd

Jack makes this post on JSETWT;

Admitting how daunting it was to attempt to do it by himself, and how he has received help from our own @turquoisemagpie (referred to as Magpie from here on out)!

May 24th

We noticed a change of an iconic title from “Dark Silence” to “What do you want from me?”; a direct quote from Chase in that ending.

Which may not be a coincidence when compared to previous titles.

(Also important to note is we got both Jack’s & Magpie’s own ego tier lists, something other community members were doing.)

June 4th

In this video (& this one, ~2 weeks later) we get some ego updates.

This intro is a little suspicious/ glitchy with similar Quit The Game to Win vibes.

June 20th

In a reblog from Magpie, we see for the 1st time (but not the last) a strange symbol; (•:) It appears again in a Code Guide, & how a something very similar looks to be engraved in the orb from Argentum Inanis.

June 22nd

Over on Twitter, a page called I.R.I.S is discovered.

Speculation explodes about who they are, a poster about working with them, how their symbol being an eye is cause for worry, a question about superhero powers, an approaching 100th anniversary, & that IRIS (something written in the spellbook from Argentum Inanis) was an acronym all along.

Then later, the same symbol is added to their page.

June 26th

They Are Here... l 3 Scary Games is uploaded. The intro & other moments in the video shows a security camera perspective in the recording room, & a septiceye is found during a glitch effect.

Later, the title & thumbnail change; revealing an eye & lights not there before;

During a fun community Theory Stream (nothing official), Magpie talks about the REDACTED spell book page they created & released for us to view, & how they also made the IRIS poster.

July 5th

IRIS tweets how they��ll show some of their earliest prototypes leading up to their 100th anniversary. In a reply they say “We will be sharing pics periodically in the coming weeks”. Later Jack's instagram story is about.... Old puppets.

July 7th

IRIS reveals their 1st prototype, some earbuds; saying “The Computer’s Aid! With a simple bone-conduction implant, this little device increased a person’s mental arithmetic skills by 76%!”

Something a certain Doctor might find very useful, & a possible advancement. A day later, IRIS shows an earlier version that could only “do one ear at a time”.

June 10th

It’s Jackieboyman’s birthday! Jack tweets this out;

Which was done in a collab with Magpie & Topicgurin.

Meanwhile, we get some more hints from Magpie in another Theory Stream; including things about Overnightwatch glitches, Chase’s mental state, & Schneeplestein (& possibly where he’d been for 9 months).

The next day, Jack posts in JSETWT that as much as he wanted to post a JBM video, he doesn’t want to do the same thing with the same outfit as before, but for his return to be “expensive & meaningful. He’s a superhero, he should look like one too”.

July 16th

IRIS posts another prototype; the Retrowave. They say “A year after the first commercial microwave was launched in 1947, IRIS took cooking one step further. The Retrowave! Not only could it cook frozen meals to perfection, it could return a stale meal back to its freshest state! Here the lab boys are testing a chicken dinner”

July 31st

Another IRIS tweet, praising the James Webb Telescope photos... Which were released around 2 weeks earlier in real time.

August 3rd

It’s the 5th anniversary (or, half a decade) of Kill JSE, still one of the biggest (& heartbreaking) ego videos to be released, so far.

Jack’s later upload itself is not suspicious, except for the first & end in-video ads, which are both edited with a big horror edge. In the later one, there’s this;

Where the bottom numbers may just reference a future date.

August 11th

It’s another birthday- our magic boi Marvin! IRIS also tweets out a direct quote from one of three laws regarding impossibility.

Just like JBM’s birthday, Jack acknowledges Marvin’s;

August 12th

The next day, we get IRIS’s 3rd prototype. A measuring tape-like item, or “The wondrous Lite-R device! This nifty little quantum mass displacer turned humanly unliftable objects as light as air! Just make sure that construction beam doesn’t go floating away in the breeze!”

Also, Jack tweets how he is on the move (via airplane).

August 14th

The upload of the day’s intro is a little... Off-putting. The ending as well has another staring contest (but shorter than QTGTW).

Jack retweets the IRIS Night Watcher poster. He also posts this, saying how he is in LA at the moment to film things with the IRIS project & his plan is to “blow your minds in the next year or so with this story and world”.

The next day, IRIS tweets an appreciation post for a Dr. Louise Hopkins.

August 17th & 18th

Jack has been busy with filming with Mark’s & corridor digital’s help. We get a few instagram stories showing some hospital equipment & an IRIS script.

August 20th

IRIS tweets a familiar question, this time with picture of a real-life security camera, and Jack lets us know that filming has wrapped up.

August 21st

We get this upload; WTCHR.

It’s video from IRIS themselves advertising their latest camera security system that’s able to watch detect both motion & even emotion, powered by an Antimatter generator. We question who the WTCHR might actually be & another possible rule of 3.

In the thumbnail there appears to be another eye/ SOS, & the Twitter IRIS symbol changes. The next day both the title & thumbnail change. A few days later Jack’s returned home, saying he can’t wait to show us all what he’s filmed.

September 1st

In I Spent a Day With JSE, Jack talks a bit more about the current IRIS plans.

September 10th

(It seems like those numbers from the nordvpn ad screenshot were in reference to this date, 9-10). IRIS posts their 4th invention;

It is our very own Dr. Schneeplestein’s birthday; instead of a birthday post or acknowledgement as we’ve seen before (& some were predicting), IRIS tweets how they have “a power-related issue”.

September 22nd

A week later IRIS asks us what we could tell our past selves if time travel was possible, a slight title change is noticed with WTCHR, & the next day CHASE is added to its’ description. A few days later Sean lets us know that he knows his next upload will be his 5,000th.

September 30th

Jack... States how October starts the very next day. With an eye emoji. Joy.

October 1st

It’s spooky month. IRIS tweets a quick (& familiar) BOO!!

October 2nd

Jack tweets a 10 sec clip of alarms & a warning sign/ IRIS poster.

October 4th

IRIS tweets a vid clip, with eerie sirens, a loading screen, what looks like an interrogation room, & what could be a spot for a facecam or a familiar security camera format.

October 5th

Jack hits the ground running with this attention-grabbing tweet;

Soon enough; this is my 5,000th video is uploaded. Jack is going through different ideas, styles, & variations of what he ‘could do’ for his 5,000th vid (including the slap chop, finally). There’s a quick few clips of something different- then we get to the ending. A teaser trailer for the IRIS Project.

We see Chase being questioned about how he suddenly got from the woods to a rooftop (directly about/ from CHASE, go watch it). A red, bloody massacre with a plea “I didn’t kill them”, strange but familiar sayings, symbols & posters, an ominous quote yelled (that IRIS directly tweets later), Chase’s accusing “you guys knew & you did nothing!”

October 7th

It’s a selfie day in the JSE TWT community tab, so Jack himself posts this:

It’s Anti’s birthday! The clothing brand Cloak tweets such a happy b-day post all in zalgo. Later... Jack himself tweets this out;

It’s been 3 years since CHASE. Meanwhile, Jack tweets another short IRIS clip, this one showing scenes from CHASE & “Discovery Logs”, “Persons of Interest” / “SUBJECTS”.

October 17th

Jack posts this video; & through out the run-time are random glitches & quick clips from the IRIS Project. The next day on his Discord, Jack promises more spooks & he’s been “enormously busy”.

October 19th

Another video upload on the channel, & more IRIS glitches. Jack also later says in a reply on the JSETWT page that there is no date set as things aren’t quite ready yet, but “soon” will be.

October 21st

Yet another full game let’s play, & even more glitches- including a new one showing a bowtie (& a certain dapper gentleman has worn before);

October 23rd

Someone is trying to hack into IRIS... Also, Jack lets us know that he’s very sick.

October 25th

Another IRIS character is introduced; Dr. Lucille Bell, & later a new clip gets tweeted by Jack, showing Chase’s psyche analysis.

October 27th

IRIS tweets out more info; note the shadow outline on the screen.

October 28th - 30th

Each day from IRIS we get number with a short clip, essentially a countdown & in a spectrogram from one of the IRIS clips, “NOT SAFE” is found.

Jack posts how Project IRIS is dropping the next day on Halloween, & even uploads a video. We also get new Night-Watch IRIS posters from Magpie.

October 31st - Happy Halloween!

Jack posts a couple comments about today. Then a tweet that things were about to start. It gets posted aaaand- it’s a livestream? Showing a computer for a password??

Yep. It’s up to chat to figure out what it is & post the answer one letter at a time. Just like Overnightwatch (& /zoom), this turns out to be “I AM HERE”.

Where we are transported to another room, with a time bar at the bottom slowly running out.

It turns out this entire event- this ARG- has rooms where the live chat can actually control the camera movements to find a hidden puzzle, complete the game/ puzzle before time runs out, & a video clip is released.

It takes some time with nearly 40k watching & participating, but Jack (& IRIS) kept us updated! The stream even crashed at one point.

There are several easter eggs in a couple different places, (including a turtle, that was actually Magpie’s idea. Awe. We named him Gerald.)

Later, Jack posts the entire video; ANOMALY FOUND - CHASE BRODY. It shows Chase at IRIS for (supposedly) a week.

October 18th, 2019, day one; Chase is being questioned by IRIS (for simplicity, we’ll call Dr. Arin) about how he spontaneously appeared after the events of CHASE. He is consistently asked about being in contact with a Subject/ ALTR 114209, & told he cannot leave.

October 19th, day two; Chase is given the Dr. Hopkins Assessment that is filled with all sorts of questions, & is pushed to the limit.

Day three; no one comes to talk with Chase, but at least is given a tennis ball for distraction. However he hears sounds/ voices he recognizes & shouts out some familiar words.

October 21st, day four; Dr. Arin informs that both exposure levels & levels in the room “have also been increased”. They repeat the same Assessment as before, but this time there are light flashes & Chase becomes more & more distraught. He stumbles over his answers & can’t understand what’s happening to him.

Day five; Chase is alone again, but hears a different voice that he calls ‘Echo’. Chase insists that they can both leave if they work together, & discovers Echo has seen Anti too. After claiming Chase is “special” they abruptly leave.

Day six; Dr. Arin tries a different, more kind & sympathetic approach to get Chase to open up. He tells a case about how IRIS helps people, that he knows what Chase has been through (with an evil giggle heard), how he has seen ALTR 114209, & who he was; “a husband. A father”. Chase tearfully claims “I didn’t kill them”.

Day seven; Chase is told he needs to be moved to a more secure location, but panics when he recognizes a red hallway. “I’ve been here before” & says they have to leave. When IRIS doesn’t listen, he attempts to flee but gets dragged back- pleading all the way.

The finale; a dead guard shows right away that everything went wrong, then we actually go through Chase’s cell camera to the same hallway. Bodies now litter the space, fresh blood on the ground. A figure levitates down & makes his way to Chase on the other end, leaving bloody footprints in his wake.

Anti greets him, in a voice not like one we’ve heard before caused by the scar across his throat, with “hello Chase”.

The video then ends.

Afterwards, IRIS tweets “service maintenance required”.

The next day, we get a partially REDACTED document from IRIS, & Sean does a livestream going over the Project- & the future.

November 3rd - 4th

Jack tweets in a reply how Chase canonically has only 1 kid now. The next day, we find out it’s IRIS’s 100th Anniversary;

Which happens to be the mirrored date of Chase’s first video.

Later, in another Theory Stream going over the Project; Magpie hints IRIS redacted info from us as Echo was communicating with Chase, & Anti’s line was originally a different voice than the final version.

Oct 14, 2019→ "Let's start a new party, you and me." The ominous post from the Stranger Things writers…

Oct 18, 2019 → Stranger Things official writers: responding with incorrect answers only, responded to someone asking if they believed in love at first sight. Responded with absolutely. Foreshadowing to the S4 infamous Mike monologue being null?

Oct 28, 2019 → Stranger things official writers describing the characters as musicals. Will was assigned the musical, Spring Awakening, a coming-of-age story, where teens navigate their life coming to terms with their ever changing selves and expressing their sexuality.

August 2nd, 2020 → Netflix India's Instagram posting the famous "Crazy Together" scene, with the caption "How to say 'I love you' without saying 'I love you'"

May 22, 2021 → Noah Schapp during a fan interview in regards to shipping Byler, "I do, there's definitely some of that in the next season."

ST4V2 RELEASE:

What it brought us:

- The painting was revealed!!! Mike is Will’s heart!! (Because we all know Mike is NOT the heart of the group lol)

- The heartbreaking van scene, although necessary to let the general audience cue in on Will’s feelings.

- The Surfer Boy pizza scene with Jonathan and Will… although not an official coming out, it does give us the satisfaction of Jonathan fulfilling his brotherly role and reassuring Will, would be met with nothing but love from him, should he ever choose to open up to him.

- While initially at surface value, this can be taken as an L, Mike's monologue was only prompted by Will and was almost in response to Will’s disguised feelings in the van scene. Even with the monologue, El could not defeat Vecna, and only came close when realizing her self worth. (EL INDEPENDANT ARC??? PLEASE)

- The framework for the general audience and their reception of Will’s feelings, gearing them to feel more sympathetic.

POST V2

Jul 13, 2022 → THE SCRIPT FOR EPISODE 4, DEAR BILLY, BEING RELEASED. OMG CONTENT GALORE!!

Jul 14, 2022 → Noah Schnapp confirms Will is gay, and in love with Mike on an interview with Variety Magazine!!! (We’ve known but it's nice to see this being validated)

Also confirmed: Will has been in love with Mike since S1. This isn’t something that was just “pulled out of nowhere”, like those who deny like to say.

This also shows that we aren’t “looking too hard into things” as the subtext and clues were always there! We just picked up on that and analyzed it! Now think of how many other things we’ve noticed that can possibly turn out to be canon!

Jul 15, 2022 → Noah Schnapp in an interview with NBC news regarding Will’s story arc: “They're still working it out, but they have their end goal. There's so many different things they have to address obviously we hope for a coming-out scene…” they have an end goal…

Similarly, on the same day, Brett Gelman and Shawn Levy are seen to be liking tweets in regards to Byler. Shawn Levy we should particularly take note of as he is a producer and director on Stranger Things.

This is the 9th message from 5/17. Pay special attention to the parts I highlighted in pink.

🎃 Imagine this. You are sitting on a beach, cold and windswept. The sea is dark and angry before you. The sun sets in muted colors. You finish scrawling on the parchment. Your pen dries up as you reach the end of a story in 11 parts. None of it makes sense anyway. You're sick of having to dilute everything so far beyond recognition. But a story told through metaphor is still a story told. Even the great poet Sappho is survived by stilted fragments and mistranslated lyrics. Maybe that is the beautiful curse people like us must all share. Perhaps loving someone the world doesn't approve of forces you to be clever. You scan your writing once over, brow furrowed. All you can do is hope that it is enough. Of course it’s not. It never could be. You know this. And yet you keep trying, trying, trying. Your image is ten times bigger than you are. You have spent your life living in your own shadow. Stealing your own thunder. Trying and failing, relentlessly, to fill your own shoes. You roll the parchment, slipping it into an empty wine bottle. You may have told the story inside out and backwards, and it may well sink to the bottom of the sea or fall on deaf ears. It may wash up on a sunny beach in Florida, or a rocky shore in the northwest. Either way, someone somewhere will know about that recipe card. And the warm safety you cherish within your fence. And the heist that stole more from you than you ever planned on stealing from the museum. And most importantly, they will know about the human heart. The flawed, scarred, angry, grateful, nonsensical heart. The one that hides deep inside glittering ballgowns. The one that questions everything, but mostly it questions if the world it has grimaced through so many smiles for would love it for what it truly is. You drop the message in a bottle into the riptide. You fight every urge to fish it out before it drifts too far. You watch it until the waves have swept it far, far away. And now it is just a matter of time. The dripping of candle wax. The ticking of a clock. 🎃

Pumpkin is equating dripping candle wax and the ticking of a clock as ways to count down the time. This makes sense: candle clocks were used before modern clocks were invented. They had consistently spaced marking that, when burned, indicated the passage of periods of time. They were mainly used when indoors, at night, or on a cloudy day. [More on this below].

Ten days after this message was sent, the Karma video was released. The coffee clock in the closing scene is in the same place on the piano as the candle theory candles were in the Cardigan video. Like, exactly the same place:

In the Karma video, the 12 numeral on the coffee clock is aligned between the rightmost E and F piano keys; the 5th and 6th of 12 keys.

In the Cardigan video, the left candle is at the same placement. Between the rightmost E and F keys.

The pink lines I drew on the picture below aren’t perfect but get the point across:

Now, let’s look at the obviously Easter-eggy nails holding the coffee before it’s placed on the piano.

Run through my thoughts with me:

The blue nail represents 1989 (5th album)

The black nail represents rep (6th album)

We know midnight on the coffee clock is aligned between or at the 5th and 6th piano keys.

At the end of the video, the coffee clock strikes midnight. (Is this a YAIL reference? Coffee at midnight?)

Will some kind of Karma will be served between 1989 and Rep re-releases? Perhaps…between August and February (as the nail placement hints if you think of each clock numeral as months of the year)? Perhaps…in October like 🎃 has hinted toward? [Or I suppose another view is some kind of Karma could be served after 1989 and Rep re-releases are both out? Perhaps after February 2024 when rep would be released? Maybe October 2024? Lord I hope it isn’t October 2025.

I think there is something interesting about how, before clocks, candles were used to tell time inside, at night, on cloudy days. Like in a hidden cabin or in a dark dungeon that is the opening scene of the bejeweled video. Hiding out from the world like so much of Taylor’s lyrics have illustrated. Now there is a whole era based on a clock and in the Karma video, there are no candles in sight but instead a lover at the piano and one ticking countdown.

My main takeaway here is that 🎃 made a very specific connection. Closing their 9th message with dripping candles and a clock while 10 days later a video drops where a clock is in the same exact place as the candles we’ve theorized about used to be. To me, this is significant.

There is so much more we could unpack here and if I hashed this theory out perfectly it would never get posted. There are also other ways to interpret what I’ve put together but I’m leaving it at this for now.

❣️ The Eclipse - no comment. it’s phenomenal. F & K are delivering and I didn’t expect anything less lol. They really made the right call casting them for this because their chemistry is 🔥🔥🔥 The characters are nuanced, the progression and the pacing are on point and I’m super curious to find out more about Ayan and his uncle. Also neolouis are intriguing and I’m loving neo in this role! So excited!!! 11/10.

👎🏻 Coffee Melody - I don’t wanna say I had high expectations for this but I was excited and the first 2ish episodes were actually pretty good - but then it went downhill and by this point it’s just bad. The pacing is off, it’s slow, boring and repetitive. Like if some random dude breathing near Plengrak is all it takes for DuanYi to have the emotional breakdown of his life then maybe yall should call it quits for good lmao. It’s been like this for 7 episodes now. I’m tired. I’m gonna sit through the last few episodes but I wish it would go by faster. 2/10.

❗️ The Thai BL “Why R U” is getting a Korean remake. The production company (same as Kissable Lips) confirmed that the show will have 8 episodes and MaxNat will have a guest appearance, which they have already filmed.

❗️ Filming for the upcoming Korean-Thai BL “Love is Like a Cat” (starring Mew Suppasit and others) has wrapped. The series is scheduled to air next year.

❗️ Jimmy Karn has withdrawn from the upcoming bl “Middleman’s Love” due to personal reasons. As a result, Tommy S. has withdrawn from the project as well. Filming has been postponed indefinitely as there will be a recasting for the lead roles. The upcoming related series “Bed Friend” will supposedly still air as planned.
