Sometimes I think about what yosano and ranpo are doing the whole time when they are both living with fukuzawa. Like obviously at that point ranpo is working on some cases but he’s probably got a lot of time to just be at home. And Yosano is freshly out of a traumatic situation. What are they doing, how to they bond?

Here are some of my thoughts of the random shit they do while in the house.

Lots and lots of puzzles. Yosano likes finding where everything goes and it’s a good distraction from her brain. Ranpo knows where all the pieces go really early on but still agrees to finish it.

Nature documentaries. Yosano likes learning all the cool facts and stuff and ranpo likes watching animals run around. He thinks they’re funny

Fukuzawa got ranpo a Nintendo switch at some point and him and Yosano spend a lot of time playing smash bros.

Minecraft. Ranpo fucking loves Minecraft but hates fighting the mobs. Yosano loves fighting the mobs so it’s a perfect team. They show Fukuzawa all the stuff they built and he has no idea what is going on. He’s happy they’re getting along tho.

I think they would both be really into making blanket forts and watching movies inside them. Sometimes they invite fukuzawa into the blanket fort to watch cartoons.

Autistic Ranpo stuff

Ranpo has issues with bright lights, hence why he's almost always either squinting or keeping his eyes closed

Difficulties with volume control

Misses all the social cues

He himself is extremely sarcastic, but he doesn't understand sarcasm from other people

Has difficulty making and maintaining relationships with other people

Extremely picky eater and lives primarily off of sugar and junk food; hates most vegetables

Small fidgets; stims by bouncing his leg, shuffling his feet, shifting his weight, messing with the buttons on his clothes, picking at the insides of his pockets, rocking or swaying, moving his legs around when he's sitting to change position,

The way he sits in chairs

His glasses have transition lenses, making the room darker, and thus makes it easier for him to concentrate

Low empathy

Has difficulty with eye contact

"I have a hard time paying attention to things I'm not interested in."

Can't use public transportation systems like trains or busses (not by himself at least)

Scared of the dark

Has to cut all the tags off his clothes

Extremely blunt and doesn't know what is and isn't appropriate to say. He comes off as rude (and, let's be real, sometimes he definitely is), but he doesn't say anything with any real malice, it's just the way he talks

Definitely does that obnoxious "obsessively clicking a pen for seven straight hours" stim

His love language is food. The best way he knows how to comfort someone when they're upset is to give them food. One time Atsushi started crying in the office because he felt loved, so Ranpo gave him a bag of Cheez-Itz, which only made him cry harder.

I imagine he struggles with certain aspects of personal hygiene, like forgetting to brush his teeth every once in a while, not showering for 5 days in a row, not doing laundry for 2 weeks, etc.

everyone, it's just a hc. it doesn't affect you, and most of the people who dislike them, aren't even part of the community to begin with.

ex, transmasc chuuya was created not because of his figure, but because of his search to find a place in the world where he can fit, and to finally figure out who he is. *we know it's not canon*, but transmasc people like myself enjoy projecting onto our favourite characters, because it helps us feel more accepted, and if you become pissy over that, please get over it. this is the internet. just block and move on. another popular hc, autistic ranpo.

autistic ranpo can make a lot of sense from his mannerisms (i am autistic myself), and suprise suprise, much of the fandom actually has already been accepting it for years?? if you don't like it, then block the page where you're getting that content from, rather than dissing the creator and or the character.

Space and ChuuRan

Mysteries and puzzles had always interested Ranpo. As he grew older, they became… similar, so similar that they all blended together, and eventually they became stale.

Space never became stale. There were endless puzzles in space, puzzles that he couldn’t deduce, and it fascinated him. Space was the world's biggest mystery and he was determined to figure it out one day.

No one seemed to care as much about space as he did. The old man showed more interest than most, but Ranpo was pretty sure that that was just him being polite.

Poe would probably listen to his space hyperfixations, but he didn’t want to bother the American with it. Not that Poe had anything else to do, but he still felt bad.

Chuuya, however… Oh, Chuuya was perfect. He listened, he interacted, he sent articles about space. Chuuya would listen to Ranpo for hours on end, talking about space, about Mars, about the Moon, about the stars. And he never got bored, content to listen and smiling at him like… Like Ranpo was the prettiest man to exist in his eyes.
