OUT OF CURIOSITY. would there be interest in a Danger Days Big Bang? i’ve never hosted an event of that size & would probably be looking for a co-mod with some experience BUT. i know we have talented artists and writers in this community and i feel like we might benefit from an organized event :]

A lot of you witnessed me going wattpad style crazy this past spring as I dug into the archives of mid-2000s the academy is... livejournal as part of my scholarly pursuit of basic facts about Mike Carden's life. One of the things that I kept finding was fics about him and Kevin Jonas, which naturally confused me. While there is a tenuous connection, TAIs manager Tony would leave them to manage the Jonas Brothers, I couldn't find any evidence that Mike and Kevin had ever met, let alone a connection worthy of so much fan fiction. But I was intrigued and quickly discovered that all of this (over 200 works) had sprung forth from a single person's Stargate Atlantis AU. They were a fan of both bands and thought Kevin and Mike would make a good match. Me being the bizarre sincere emotional son of a bitch I am thought there was something so sweet and romantic about all this. I thought there was something moving about the fact that these two guys who had never met got sent on a fictional blind date and hit it off, they were so well suited for each other that everyone else just went along with it. So, knowing nothing about the Jonas Brothers, stuck in a dorm room in a foreign country, and going a bit bonkers, I decided to try my hand at it. I must give thanks to skoosiepants on livejournal who wrote the original Stargate Atlantis fic as well as a number of other delightful stories but more importantly to Taylor @roachsoda who encouraged me to do this in the first place and then very bravely and skillfully edited 80 pages of fanfiction about Kevin Jonas. It was with her encouragement that I decided to partake in the Bandom Big Band this year, which just went live and finally got this word document off my computer and into the world. Thanks for putting up with me being a maniac. I love you all.
