How do you pick colors for the gore rendering? I'm mesmerized withe the vibrant yet mildly sickly tone of colors you use, that along with the paint marker way of shading is amazing, I love it

thanks!! admittedly I've been meaning to do more studies and such bc I'm missing out on a lot of things imo but here's my lazy guy method where I put varying reds down regardless of lighting....

i generally go between dark reds and lighter pinks/oranges, and then have some "blue(grey or just Less Red Reds" and green/yellow. green and red are just fun to work with so I think a lot of my drawings have that. Pinks and greys can be fun too so I'm trying to do more w those..... bleh. I'm very much not an expert at drawing or anatomy so. You know how it is. Here's a picture i tried to explain with a while ago

we as a society really need to get into the torrid awful years long harry/hermione affair that started with them stumbling into bed together during the horcrux hunt when ron left. btw

Did you know that Procreate doesn't have a lot of the standard filter/effects tools that Photoshop and Clip Studio have? For the most part I'm A-OK fine living without those, but the one that boggles my mind is that Procreate doesn't have a stroke feature. I bring this up because I use stroke a lot for subtle things, and I use it a lot for graphic things (like comic binding boxes, lettering, etc.)... and, for the current illustration, I used it for almost the entire background. So do you want to know the stupid way to simulate the stroke effect in Procreate? SURE YOU DO. You have to duplicate the item, or lines, you want to have a stroke effect on... You then move it below your object/lines, gausian blur the duplicate beneath to 2 - 3%, then keep duplicating that blurred copy and merging it with itself until the extra selection of pixels created by the blur are, once more, solid. It's a lot of duplicating and merging. PROCREATE, PLEASE, THIS IS YOUR ONLY TRUE FLAW. Please add a stroke tool my family is starving.

#This method is so stupid BUT IT WORKS sdkjffj #sadly it's too hard to paint with a building stroke layer doing this #and that was one of my favorite ways to simulate a certain texture I like doing #so I've mostly been living without it bc I refuse to touch photoshop anymore #...and clip gives me a headache #it's not the biggest deal in the world I mostly just think the method for simulating the effect is funny #but I do miss using it for layer painting #I don't use this method for doing my panel outlines in procreate because it's faster to just duplicate the panels and size them up #but I did use it for them in photoshop bc it was so quick/easy to do it that way in photoshop #Anyway the way I got all the texture on The Pomegranate Painting (thunderclash sfx and theremin music) that everyone seemed to like #was to use the stroke painting method I talked about #I can't do that in procreate easily enough to warrant doing #it can be done sparingly but not how you can when it'sa setting you can put on your brush or layer

Here's it in my actual new apartment. I wanna put it together so bad!!!!! But it's nearly midnight and I don't have the tools to put it together anyways

#speculation nation #i got a few other things. mostly stuff for storage and whatever #also got a new slim display case. which im sure i will also love. but im not as excited about that as i am this COFFEE TABLE!!!!#look at it!!!! it's so beautiful!!!!!#that dark wood!!!! the glass top!!!!! the drawers underneath!!! and theres a shelf on the other side from the drawers #it already goes so well with the dark trim of the apartment... im excited for it omfg #hfkshfks i decided to just go ahead and bring this and the display case to my new apartment directly #the coffee table came in two boxes. each about 50 lbs. and the display case box was also about 50 lbs.#i carried them all in by myself. and hooooooo. that sure was a workout.#like if it's a compact 50 pounds that's not so bad. but when it's an awkward 50 pounds like these...#especially with the big square box. that one SUCKED to carry in.#the display case is in a long rectangle box. which actually wasnt the worst bc it was pretty easy to grip #i just had to be careful to not hit things with the ends of it.#the 2nd coffee table box wasnt as bad as the first. but it was still pretty miserable.#banged the shit outta my poor knee. oh well #i didnt wanna just leave them in my car yknow? and i didnt wanna bring them into my current apartment #bc it wouldnt have had anywhere to go Anyways. best to just take them here & not have to move them again later #plus!!! more room for building them!!!! i dont rly have much in the way of floor space at my current apartment :p #bwah. i still need to head back home. take a quick shower. grab some dinner.#i did also manage to finish writing my chapter. while eating at IKEA lmao #so if im still feeling energized after i settle in. mayhaps... i will try to do those edits... hoohoohoo
