marcela does a lot of cruel things throughout the series but i think her true moment of traditional telenovela villainy is that dinner she has with margarita and patricia, (the day betty gets made president) where she basically states 'yeah i know armando is still in love with her and i know beatriz is still in love with him but she believes everything in the letter and she has no way to disprove it. and armando has no witnesses to speak on his favor.'

and she's very smug about it:

in marcela's head she believes the only one she's really hurting by withholding this information is beatriz, how armando feels is not even much of an afterthought. marcela puts herself and her needs first. which is understandable. she has no incentive to help beatriz and why would she? she sees beatriz as the reason why her relationship with armando deteriorated even tho it's actually more complicated than that.

of course armando knows he doesn't have witnesses or anything to prove that in middle of everything he did truly fall in love with her and he's not going to ask anyone for help. mario offers to talk to her (tho not seriously) and even patricia says mario could tell betty the truth but marcela knows betty would never believe the author of the letter.

her only goal is to keep armando by her side. i dont know if she knows that she's hurting him or if she justifies her own actions as a consequence of his past actions towards her. or maybe its something she knows she's doing but doesn't care. (im gonna let the audience decide that bc im not even sure how i feel about that).

we see armando go through hell after betty disappears but when she returns he never once thinks to tell her about what exactly happened after she went away. he only says 'all the damage i did to myself' but never elaborates and betty never asks. it's deliberate that armando never tells her about his state of mind during that period of time bc he knows that to do so would be seen as a form of manipulation. that's not how you prove to someone that you've changed. and that's aside from him knowing that she would never believe him. (bc we know she wouldn't). he loves betty and although he's not yet at the point of truly understanding just how much pain and damage he's caused her, he would never want her to take him back bc she feels sorry for him.

meanwhile, way before the truth of the embargo happens, marcela tells him she would never survive him ending their engagement. that it would just as bad as when her parents died.

his face is immediately affected and she knows. she knows that the only way to keep him is through manipulation. and later on, participating in the act of withholding information that could help him, but again she doesn't see it as helping him. and never actually does. when she gives beatriz this information, it's actually in her attempt to save the company her father co founded. bc up until the last minute she was still holding out hope that betty's indifference to armando would push him back to her. not understanding that armando's changed indefinitely. he's not going to be manipulated by her again and he's not going to stoop to his past behaviors bc it never did him or anyone any good to begin with.

his room is very dark. It's lit up by colored LEDs, stuff like that. He also probably has a light-up green glowy lightning bolt taped to his wall. also has like his yaksha mask with glowy accents from like fanmail and stuff. also related to the event request i sent, his door is probably somewhere behind him, otherwise, how would they see the reader entering his room? also only his viewers know this, but behind him, he has a shelf with various items on it. most of the shelf. has plants. it clashes with his personality, but matches with his color scheme. he used to just not sleep (poor baby drank too much monster hehe) but his S/O helps him with it <3 also has all his g-fuel on the shelf. (secretly has one of those froggo hats) tired and cranky 24/7 but still has amazing aim even if he's tired???? trying to fix his bad posture. childe called zhongli a boomer once. xiao just- snapped. who dares to insult his dear brother like that? let's just say... childe didnt last long in the next few rounds... (totally not long because im biased)

Ganyu

has a very aesthetic cozy room. When Xiao, Ganyu, and Zhongli moved in, （she was 12 and xiao was 10 , zhongli was 20 at the time, Ganyu is currently 21 , Xiao is currently 19, Zhongli is currently 29） she took her time, hanging her fairy lights, carefully placing all her comfort plushies on the shelf. She recently placed polaroids of her and her S/O in a heart shape, of course with her S/O's assistance. Helped Zhongli and Xiao decorate their rooms. (Xiao used to have those giant wall stickers yk? yeah he used to have one of spiderman, dont tell anybody) Has a neatly stacked pile of work papers. Very beige and vintage. He just has a lot of shelves. Like a lot lot. He collects teapots, and just interacts with chat while sipping tea. If he's lucky enough to get a donation, he spends it on new tea sets or tea that his chat chooses. But the tea set choosing has rules!! Rule 1 is no NSFW (if nsfw teacups even exist), Rule 2 is no Gore(if that even exists), and rule 3 is has to fit the budget. He also has a wishlist of tea sets he wants to get, and his viewers can donate to help him get the tea sets on his wishlist. Is very grateful for every donation he gets. tbh i had no idea this was a thing until I looked it up, and yep. there are people who legit think that percy is a mary sue which is hilarious. also there r some others who claim that annabeth and piper r mary sues?? that's also a thing but im less surprised abt that even tho they r clearly very wrong as well lmaoo

so let's see what makes a mary sue: according to this dictionary "Mary Sue is a term used to describe a fictional character, usually female, who is seen as too perfect and almost boring for lack of flaws, originally written as an idealized version of an author in fanfiction."

ok so it’s true that rick wrote percy to be….similar? to his son? or at least represent him. i’m not sure and frankly idc bc in the end, percy can’t exactly be considered to be the typical self insert who could do no wrong unlike *cough* paul *cough* because, what-ho he has flaws. lol. in tlt it is established that percy has anger issues. he easily gets in trouble and again, his emotions get the best of him. on the topic of too many characters falling for him and his looks….honestly all of that felt very natural in the books? one, nico’s crush on percy isn’t canon until waay later so we as readers didn’t know he had one while reading pjo. nico admits that he had a crush in the first place bc he began to idealize percy, for who he is (and honestly it’s realistic, given nico was young and the person who saved him and his sister was percy). two, rachel fell for the idea of percy. of the world that he was part of—she literally says this shit. and they started out as friends, so, developing feelings is easy thru friendship. obviously percy jackson is a good person, and obviously rachel saw the best parts of him and went with it. then she promptly tells him something along the lines of “bye not interested. i figured out that i don’t rly like u exactly. i just liked the idea of u being part of this magical world” and that’s that. three, calypso also falls in love with the idea of him (btw there r many things wrong with this, but u know, another can of worms. yikes). she implies that it was his character (bravery, maybe?). four, annabeth starts off as his friend. she gets to know all of him, the good and the bad, and it doesn’t rly feel like, “oh, he’s perfect and awesome and sooo good looking. that’s why everyone wants to be with him.” no. on the surface, maybe??? idk this is maybe sugar coating a lot. but all these ppl “fall in love” with percy bc of different circumstances, and not necessarily bc of his looks/all of them except for annabeth don’t get to know him well at all. they don’t exactly know abt his flaws, and….obviously percy jackson is good looking. later on, he’s described as such. lol he’s the son of a greek god??? and yet. for most of pjo he’s described as short and scrawny?? bc he’s a kid? lol. another thing: his looks aren’t the most important thing abt him. in fact, it’s barely stated in the books. us as readers infer that he must be good looking bc of some throwaway comments and how poseidon is perceived as “handsome” and percy looks like poseidon. this is later on when he’s sixteen or whatever

Yes, let’s circle back to the beautiful performance of Edge of Great. More specifically the BODY LANGUAGE, particularly Julie and Luke’s, which I will be analyzing with gifs.

Jealous Luke looks over at Julie and Reggie vibing

Julie is aware that she’s avoiding Luke, which she is doing so bc she realized her feelings for him thanks to Flynn earlier in the episode.

Since Julie has put the task of ignoring Luke upon herself even though she has no obligation to, she ends up failing her own mission. She sees Luke’s reaction to the lack of her attention.

She literally FREEZES. She’s emotionally worried to confront what she’s feeling and it’s beginning to manifest physically.

This is important bc he did this with his longtime bandmate during the soundcheck of what would’ve been their biggest performance. Julie is well aware that Luke is getting jealous. But in classic Julie fashion, she will try to tune it out instead of addressing it. Our wicked beauty doesn’t like confrontation and would rather just deny and avoid than potentially make things awkward, especially when she knows Luke would ask her about it at a later time.

It may have been a split second, but when you’re deliberately trying to avoid looking into the dreamy (dead) eyes of someone you shouldn’t be crushing on, any amount of time feels too long. Plus, she knows Flynn is watching and doesn’t want her to lecture her (but she does anyway bc Flynn is observant and knows her bestie too well to let any action slip past her).

Keep in mind; NONE OF THE GUYS KNOW WHY JULIE IS AVOIDING LUKE. Flynn, Alex, and Reggie have noticed the Juke chemistry, but it’s still too soon for them to get past the “we like each other but we’re too clueless to notice that we reciprocate” phase, so even though their respective besties know, they are still denying. Besides, Reg, Alex, and Flynn know better than to keep pestering if they want to keep their kneecaps. In reality they’re both smart enough to tell by this point, but for the sake of the plot and to make everything more adorably frustrating, Flynn has the collective brain cell under lock and key, leaving Juke to be like *dog tilting its head and making that “a-roo?” noise*

Anyway, Reggie notices Luke being snubbed after realizing that his extra dose of Julie time was slightly out of the ordinary. Luke is clearly concerned (look at his eyebrows and how his eyes travel from Reggie, to Julie, then to the audience to trying and get his mind off it and bring his focus back to the main goal; the performance.) If he can’t have the moment of connection with Julie that he so desperately craves, he’s gonna fill that void as best he can by connecting with the audience. >:’)

But Reggie’s trying to help Luke brush it off by conveying his reaction as ‘look at julie coming into her own! i told you she was a star! and you thought you were the lead singer? think again buddy this girl’s got you beat!’

But since Reggie isnt a master at hiding his feelings yet, especially around Luke, —who was able to get under his skin earlier (“girls, am i right?”)—Luke was easily able to see through that and interpreted what Reggie was saying as “look at julie go, she all in the zone. you’re literally making heart eyes at her get a grip you’re slacking lmao” (hence luke’s right eyebrow quirking at reggie like ‘dude seriously gimme a break u know i need attention like tinkerbell’) even though Reggie’s true message was a bit less harsh and more lovingly teasing, but it’s Luke, he sees things through his eyes and at his intensity, regardless of who it’s coming from. (This is one of the reasons why Luke comes off as selfish at times.)

Poor Lukey boi can’t seem to catch a break today! Not only does Julie ignore him, then has a cute lil (platonic but it’s luke so it still makes him jealous >:P) moment, but now she has the AUDACITY to interact with Alex? Also; Luke approaches the rest of the group, wanting to be included in at least SOME of the vibing, but when Julie starts dancing and smiling with her buddy Alex, he backs up like

He licks his lips & that to me read** like he was nervous (**read rhyming with bed just to clarify) so that means it could’ve been a spontaneous, spur-of-the-moment thing.

In the second gif, you can see that Julie’s head is tilted, as if she’s a bit confused, but she’s also delightfully surprised.

Julie is quick to smile and scrunch her nose at Luke, something she does often. It tells Luke his impulsive action garnered a positive response from his favorite girl. Julie also starts to shake her head, but doesn’t go through the motion in full, which means she’s still a bit nervous to let her guard down. This is probably because she doesn’t know what he’s thinking or what he will do next. The lopsided smile mixed with the suave, gliding steps towards her probably brought her back to her daydream lol.

Luke’s happy bc Julie’s no longer ignoring him. He smiles like a GOOBER bc this chump is simping HARD for our Julie. So cute! :’)

The timing of him turning around, at least to me, makes me think Reggie was surprised by Luke approaching the piano. (But also he lowkey was waiting for Luke to prove him wrong by doing something to get Julie’s attention so Reggie isn’t mad. Neither is Alex but he doesn’t like being told how or WHEN to ghost) Luke doesn’t even give his bandmates a warning eyebrow quirk, a hand signal, nothing. Reggie turns to Alex like ‘dude what is he DOING?’ And before he can even really convey that, they go *POOF*

This man had a plan and he was gonna do it, so he did. Whether it’s the power of love, they stopped performing, or Reggie and Alex actually poofed out, the odds worked in Luke’s favor so he and Julie could have a super special moment, a moment special enough to make an actual living person (Nick) wonder if a “hologram” has a better chance at connecting with Julie than he does.

Again, regardless of who made them poof or how they poofed, they mf poofed so Luke’s a happy hamster. Hi so i wanted to say few things just to get it out of my system.(im new to tumblr dont kno how this works whtvr)

i hate it when people put steve in this bubble of perfection. And i dont mean people who make heart eyes and claim steve is the perfect human being. The people whom im talking about is the ones who demand and expect steve to be that way, when he clearly never claimed he is perfect. When i put myself in steve's shoes, i realize how goddamn frustrating it'd be. People would be waiting for him to make a mistake so that they can prove he is this horrible human being(or at least a flawed person, which is such a high standard) people are allowed to have flaws and make mistakes bc it's in human nature and in steve's case i never see people realize it's like he has to be perfect bc hey he's captain america. I feel this way strongly specially in avengers 2012 when tony says steve is gonna do smt wrong and it's gonna blow up in his face AND he's gonna be there when it happens. Like tony WANTS steve to make a mistake so that he can watch and enjoy it(why? Bc of his unsolved daddy issues). It applies to the fandom too. Tony attacks bucky but hey, it's justified bc, tony creates ultron BUT!!! it!s again justified bc reasons(traumatized, ptsd,cares about his friends etc.). Wanda did such and such and such but it's ok to make mistakes. Tony shot sam but his friend was injured. Especially when you point these to t*ny st*rk stans theyr like: can't you just accept that some characters can be flawed make mistakes and move on!!!

HELLO THERE!! YES, I ABSOLUTELY AGREE!

First of all, welcome to tumblr! It's nice to see new Steve fans coming in :D I think you're gonna get the hang of it soon!

And yeah, I've made and reblogged many posts about this topic in the past. For some reason, people put Steve on a really high pedestal and he's not allowed to make mistakes because he's either a) perfect, and that means a mary sue, or b) the devil incarnate that is the root of all issues and the MCU. You can't have it both ways, guys.

The thing that upsets me the most is that yes, Steve made a mistake in Civil War by not telling Tony, but he not only regrets it, he also tries to own up to it, and apologises to Tony, which is something Tony has never done ever. And even then, people dunk on his apology letter for being badly written or not considerate or something.

It's just this incredibly high standard that he has to constantly live up to, and the moment he steps out of line, the fandom is ready to crucify him. It is very, very annoying. Thankfully, this side of the fandom has died out a lot, I think it experienced a high when Civil War came out. And then again with Endgame, and that hate is still around, but what can we do? Make good posts about Steve, since that's all we have left...

On that topic! In my opinion, it would be interesting to me if we were to translate this trend into the MCU (in fanfiction form, of course! Don't know if you read that sort of thing, but bear with me). That means: what if the people in the MCU act and treat Steve like the stans do? How many of them view him as perfect Captain America without looking at Steve Rogers? And how long can he go on like that, trying to live up to that title, and not fail or disappoint anyone? Steve is a character that has very often had a dichotomy between himself and his superhero persona, as can be seen in the comics. There were times he gave up the mantle, even going as far as claiming that: "It is time for Captain America to die, so that Steve Rogers can live."

Why am I telling you all this? Well, I would love to see more stories explore just how much pressure is put on him, and how he still endures it and doesn't give up. Additionally, we could have other characters realise what's going on, notice how hard he's pushing himself, talk about it, and support him when they find out just how unhappy he is, how out of sync he is with, well, being Steve.

If there was one thing missing in the MCU, it was more stress put on the distinction between Steve and Cap. I would have loved to see more of that, in canon or otherwise.

Anyway. I've been rambling for a while now and I hope you liked my idea, because in my opinion taking this bad faith reading and turning into something nice and thoughtful is the best way to combat these sorts of opinions ;)

But the drama on tumblr is kinda mild conpared to Youtube "readers". At least the readers here on tumblr try to hide the fact, that they're describing themselves very well but yoooooooo.... Youtube readers are a different breed. Most of them are super young (12-13, but there are a handful of readers old enough to fucking know better) and just straight up describe themselves with no shame. I even found some who put pics of themselves lmao. Me and my friends like to go through readings and bet, who is describing themselves as a spouse. There is one reader who has over 30+ vids on Mrs. J, and most readings are like over 20 mins long. How much is there to know about a person, that doesn't exist yet??? But most YT readers are obssessed with the fact, that Mrs. J is from India, what a coincidence that the reader is also from India lmao. I'm not saying BTS wouldn't ever date someone from that country, I'm saying it's impossible to get a specific country, age, height, religion etc from tarot cards. The pics on the cards might give you clues and the cards can say that the person is different from you, but they go into way too much detail. And it's funny because they're always soooo specific for Jungkook and V, but for the other ones....crickets🦗 On one hand it's so sad bc you have these little girls, putting out their private info, looks and secrets for the whole world to see (these vids have thousands of views) and they don't really grasp the consequences of their actions bc yknow, their just children. The internet never forgets. But on the other hand, you have these grown women who, like I said, should know better than these little girls. Not only do they get so defensive if you don't 100% allign with what they said, they are borderline so obsessed of the idea of being a spouse. Like tf??? Bts aren't Gods. They're very attractive celebs, who's purpose is to entertain people with their contents and music (hence the word idol & entertainer), while they do feed into that perfect bf material scheme, it's up to the fan to not actually develop real romantic feelings (a celeb crush and being a stan is something very different). Most are actually fans for very superficial reasons, they just find them attractive, not the music. And if you take the glitz and glamour of fame and money away, Bts are regular human beings, with flaws and issues. Like. The. Rest. Of. Us. They only show you the best side of them, because it's part of the whole idol package. We truly do not know these people, no matter how sincere or authentic they appear on camera. Like so so many were suprised that they wanted to disband a few years ago, bc they couldn't handle the pressure. These readers always believe if they meet/marry them, their life is going to be better and they feel alive again or smth. Most of these readers actually need therapy, I don't mean that in a condescending way. They imagine that their spouse, a celeb they've never met, will be their sole reason for their happiness and only then they are able to fix their issues and unhappiness. That reeks of co-dependency. And even if they'd become couple and be public, then what? A really big big chunk of Armys are actually in love with Bts, no matter if they even know tarot or not (Armys usually claim that only 2% of the fandom are delulus but that's definetly not true🥴). You'd get send d*eath threats, be harrassed, get doxxed, be hated for all eternity, even if you'd decided to break up. Look what happend with Jk and the tattoo artist he only hugged. She lost her job bc Armys were reporting her, some were trashing her workplace, she got threats, her friends got harassed and doxxed and she lost a friend (Jk). Not only that, but people would legit stalk you and try to hurt you, if you were a romatic partner of Bts. Then you also have the tarot side, who'd try to curse youa nd paint you as the evil demon, who is toxic to member xyz. And I don't think you'd want to spend your entire life locked in your house. And I personally could never deal with like millions of haters, no matter how hot my partner is.

A part of Ted didn’t know what he was doing here.

He had never been the big city type, and after his time in the Galapagos it had been cemented even more. From a small town to an even smaller island — New York wasn’t where he had thought that he would find himself.

When he had got a letter in the mail inviting him to a science convention to speak about his research on a panel, he had nearly passed it along. But something made him take a second look, and something made him send that email agreeing to it.

Someone dear to his heart was in the Big Apple, and though it had been years…

He didn’t know if Alexis still thought about him the way he thought about her. That was the funny thing about their relationship. Ted had never loved anyone more than he had loved Alexis, but that was why he had to let her go.

They didn’t keep in touch much after he left for the Galapagos. There were texts, the occasional call, but eventually they just… stopped. A part of it was work, sure, but—

It was painful.

Letting go of Alexis Rose was the hardest decision he ever had to make, but it was the only one he could make.

And as he stepped out of the airport, some small part of him was hoping that he would somehow find the one who got away once more.

Alexis was not having a good day, to put it simply.

PR work is not easy work, and on some days it felt like Interflix was trying to make things as hard as possible with some of the things they did. But they had hired her for a reason, and she was damn good at her job — she could take a challenge, but today it felt like she was trying to move a mountain.

“Stupid movies and their stupid premieres,” she muttered as she hurried down the street, trying her best to not run into anyone. An early showing of an Interflix original had been going well, but the next day, nearly every attendee had come down with a nasty case of food poisoning. This was why Alexis had advised against ordering from that shady Italian place, but it seemed that she had forgotten a very valuable lesson — rich people would do anything to cut a couple corners and save a couple bucks.

And now, Alexis was having the time of her life trying to clean up a mess that couldn’t be any less her fault, but ended up being her responsibility. It was going to be a very long afternoon of writing apology emails, sending Edible Arrangements, and making sure that none of the higher ups made the situation any worse. After all this, Alexis was definitely going to treat herself to one of those cinnamon buns at the bakery on the corner. She deserved it.

She had opted to do her work at a cafe rather than her apartment, but instead of going to her usual place she had decided to try out a new, smaller spot. Alexis had read a couple good reviews, and for some reason, she just felt like it would be a good place to spend the afternoon.

It was. As usual, her taste was impeccable, a fact that only became even more well known after she entered. Alexis was immediately assaulted with the sweet scents of coffee and fresh bread, something that influenced her decision to order some espresso and a sweet bun. After receiving her treats, she had found a cozy corner with an outlet, and she got to work. It was time to do what she did best — save someone from their own mistakes.

Yeah, Ted was definitely not a city person.

After a hectic morning spent in an airport and an even better time trying to get his things from the baggage claim, he was more than ready to check into his hotel and just relax for a second before the conference the next day.

But of course, something had gone wrong with his reservation and so he wouldn’t be able to check in for another four hours. New York really was the city where dreams were made.

He didn’t really have any idea what he was going to do for the next four hours. He could always sightsee, but at this time of day he was sure there would be tourists everywhere, and he wasn’t exactly in the mood to browse the Metropolitan.

Right now, the only thing he really needed was a coffee. Trailing a suitcase behind him and dropping the occasional apology each time someone bumped into him, he stepped into the first cafe he could find, taking a moment to enjoy the quiet. He had been lucky enough to stumble into a smaller place, and even luckier that it was mostly uncrowded.

He ordered a black coffee and was about to find a place to drop all of his things when his gaze was drawn to the corner, housing one inhabitant busy typing away on a laptop.

Ted frowned, stopping in his tracks as the familiar mess of dirty blonde hair registered in his mind. Her back was turned to him, but he knew that it was her. After all, the clip holding her hair up was one that he had given to her.

He cleared his throat and steeled himself for what he was about to do, and before he could question himself he started walking.

Maybe it wasn’t the best decision to do her work in a public place, as this was about the fifth time that Alexis had to hold back a scream. She often found herself wondering how people so idiotic could end up in such prestigious positions, but then she was reminded of what her early twenties were like.

At least she wasn’t a nepotism baby anymore — she just had to deal with them all day long.

She heaved a sigh as her fingers flew across the keys, her nails making a satisfying ‘clack’ with every letter, when her train of thought was interrupted by the clearing of a throat.

“Without sounding too forward… I think you are the most beautiful girl this city has ever seen.”

She knew that voice. She knew those words.

But then again, it’s not like she could forget the first words her soulmate had said to her.

Alexis turned around and her breath caught in her throat as the biggest smile appeared on her lips. Her mouth opened and closed for a few seconds, unable to get the words out, until she got out the only one that mattered.

“Ted!” she exclaimed, lunging up from her seat to envelope him in a hug. “Oh my god, Ted? What are you doing here? I’m so happy you’re here, but— what?”

He laughed, staggering back a little from the force of her embrace, but found that he couldn’t answer for a moment as the two of them stood there intertwined. He hadn’t realized how much he missed this. How much he missed her.

“I was in the area for a convention to talk about the research we did on the island,” he explained, reluctantly pulling out of her embrace as they both took seats at the table. “Something got messed up with my reservation at the hotel, so I was just looking for a place to hang out until then, but— I don’t know what led me here.”

I think I do, Alexis wants to say. It was fate.

But she doesn’t. Instead, she just smiled at him. “I— I can’t believe you’re really here. It’s been so long, Ted. It’s been too long.”

He nodded. “It really has.” A smile of his own appeared as he gestured at her. “But I mean, you look amazing. You really rock a power suit — New York’s treated you well.”

Alexis felt like a teenager, the way that the blood was rushing to her cheeks. But she can’t help it — seeing Ted again, it was like a dream. “You’ve been doing pretty good for yourself, Mister Mullens. With that beard, you’re like a rugged vet version of Captain America.”

And when he laughed, she could have melted. All the memories from their relationship were rushing back, and after spending five minutes in the same room with him Alexis had confirmed what she already knew: she had never really fallen out of love with Theodore Mullens. “What have you been up to?”

“Still doing PR — I’ve been juggling responsibilities with Interflix and other clients that I’ve been picking up with my business. And I don’t mean to toot my own horn, but I really have been killing it.”

“Hey, toot away. You’ve earned it.” Ted grimaced, his brows furrowing and the corners of his lips quirking downwards in the cutest way. “That… didn’t come out right.”

As Alexis laughed, she found herself reaching for his hand resting on the table, and almost absentmindedly he intertwined his fingers with her own. It’s almost cliche, how she feels electricity.

She stared into his eyes for a moment, committing every curve and slope to memory, and a confession was spilling from her lips before she could stop herself.

“I’ve missed you.”

And Ted doesn’t even flinch, that same heart melting smile from the very first day finding its way onto his face once again as he squeezed her hand. “I’ve missed you too.”

A weight dissolved off of her shoulders, and her smile grew even brighter as she squeezed back. “Hey, so— I’m basically done with my work for the afternoon. And you said you had a couple of hours, so… want me to show you around the city? I’m basically an expert by now.”

Ted nodded. “I’d really like that.”

She wasn’t really done with her work, but Alexis would be a fool to give up this chance in favor of sending emails.

The what if of their relationship had always been a question Alexis found herself asking. What if she had never broken his heart the first time, what if she had said yes the first time, what if their paths became one in the same rather than going parallel.

But all of those questions didn’t matter now. Now, a second chance was staring her point blank with the kindest eyes and a movie star smile.

Maybe an afternoon in a cafe was her chance to begin again with the love of her life.

hi! i’m a junior in high school n i was going through the embry riddle tag bc i’m interesting in going there i saw a post from u saying u went there n are studying astronomy, so i wanted to ask what u think of the school overall as well it’s astronomy program? I’m also looking at florida institute of technology and university of florida. Thanks ! :)

I dont know how old this is, but regardless I think an answer will be beneficial for everyone thinking about giving money and getting an education at ERAU.

It has its benefits. Its been said that companies love hiring from ERAU because the education and courses prepare you for industry, and that can true. The pilot program is a good example, and we do host two career expos during the year in which students absolutely do get interviewed and hired by big companies on the same day. That being said, astrophysics and astronomy are not a strong suit for the university. If you are looking to get hired and make money and actually get a quality education in the field of physics, id suggest else where.

This is mostly because the department of physical sciences in itself is young. The astrophysics program is no more than 8 or 9 years old, which means there's a lot to be desired. If you read physics journals, we do have a couple big name professors, ex-NASA researchers, and also people who are currently doing very big time research. However, I found issues with my time as an astronomy major, and I want to preface this by saying that I have changed my major for these reasons and also because I stopped comprehending advanced math.

The professors are concerned with themselves and really not much else. They do little to make coursework easier and when the whole class is failing they see it as student failure and not their fault. I had one professor who swore he was a physics god or something, because he literally could not care if we were doing badly, he was the best at everything, and that about sums up professors attitudes. Don't get me wrong, some professors were amazing and truly went out of their way, but it was not common. To put the program into perspective, no one in my graduating class got into a physics graduate program. Not one person. They got into other graduate degree programs or jobs, but everyone who wanted to get a masters or a phD now has to wait to apply again, and I think that says something about the quality of teaching there.

In terms of jobs in this program, they will help you apply for REUs and internships, but you're better off doing research with a professor at the university if you can. In terms of university life, the campus is ever expanding, food is subpar, they do try to do campus activities though they are usually lacking, and you can observe flights as a student so thats cool.

Am I satisfied with my education? Not with that price tag. Its a private institution that claims to offer a lot, but you really have to chose the right degree program to get all the benefits of the Embry Riddle brand name. If you want to offer yourself to improve a program and help it grow, then by all means so aatronomy at Embry Riddle. They have several labs and telescopes, including the large 1m on the roof of the science building. But if you actually want to be a physicist and pursue a graduate degree and learn, then I would consider other options. This isn't worth the price.
