i usually stay quiet because i don’t like to engage in fandoms of any kind anymore, but the things i’ve been shown from iwtv twitter is concerning. idk what assad/armand fans think they’re trying to achieve by disrespecting jacob, delainey, sam, and the rest of the cast by saying armand is the sole reason anyone watches this show and that he’s the best actor on the show etc, but yall are not doing yourselves any favors. this is not tvd. this is not the cw. using assad for agenda shipping purposes because you hate sam/lestat, and reducing louis to an object or a prize to be won, and trying to knock louis/jacob out of his lead position on a show where he is the best/most nuanced written gay BLACK male character in history is disgusting and so extremely disrespectful to jacob who is literally the cutest/kindest human being ever.

this show is a team effort. everyone involved with iwtv are master class actors, writers, set designers, etc and when it comes to acting—to credit one actor for the show’s success is very off putting. (especially when you take into account delainey had only two weeks to prepare for claudia and gave the performance of a lifetime.) there are many who do not engage with this fandom because of takes like this and all this will do is put people off assad/armand which is the last thing anyone needs. cast members of color and characters of color should not be pit against each other on the ONLY show on tv right now that allows them to be great.

Personal stream of consciousness around Liam and grief and moving forward

Every day I wake up and Liam is still dead. It continues to sort of feel like at some point I will wake up and that won’t be true, that he’ll be back, like he’s just on a trip right now. And I think that’s… a normal part of the grieving process, but it’s hard because it feels disrespectful, almost.

I only did 8 days of inktober this year. I had another ten sketched out already in my notebook, and now I wonder what to do with those. Some of them were good! (Some weren’t). I was older than Liam by a month or so, but for some reason I want to be able to go to him now, and show him those sketches, and say, I do art too! Aren’t you proud of me?

Death is a horrible and unnatural thing. It was never supposed to happen to us. We grieve because we were not made to lose people. We were made to love them forever. Grief is our body trying desperately to reconcile with a reality it was never made for. That is why it feels this way. We were not made for a life like this. We were made to hold one another in our arms. We were made to love each other. We were made for more.

I want to tell him that. That he was made for more than he got. I hope someday I can.

When tumblr started having polls, I always voted the Liam option, and in part that was because I love Liam and I would’ve chosen him regardless. But in part it was with the thought that, if he were to ever snoop on our community here, I wanted Liam to see that he had people in his corner. I don’t regret that. I’m sad it’s all I could do.

I was thinking about it earlier. About One Direction. I tried to slice it so many ways and I came to the conclusion that Liam and Louis are the ones that I think were the heart. I think 1D could’ve come back together to tour, make music, and so on, as long as it had at least those two. 1D could never exist without Liam. It just couldn’t. He loved them too much.

Obviously, I haven’t turned my queue back on. I haven’t felt right reblogging current day stuff about the boys. It feels like turning that back on will indicate being ready to move on, to some extent. And okay, I’ll never be ready so there’s that. But. The idea of turning it back on doesn’t feel right. Not yet.

That being said, I started last month preparing for Christmas. For the 25 days of fic rec I do, and the advent fic. And of course cards. I had decided just a week before Everything Happened that I couldn’t afford to do physical cards this year. And I feel ten times more guilty about that decision now, because it feels like surely people NEED that! But I am also trying to be realistic with myself; so many wonderful people have offered to help financially, and any other time I think I would’ve taken them up on that, but right now the emotional and mental weight of doing physical cards might also be too heavy.

Which, again, makes me feel like I’m letting people down when they need me. If I could, I would send all of you personalized letters every day. It is so hard to reckon with the knowledge that I am only human and must take care of myself.

But I will do the fic recs. that’s easy; I’ve already finished the post graphics.

And I will do the advent fic (I might change my plot— the original one didn’t have a lot of Liam, but i think I need him there more).

And I will make some sort of digital cards for sure. It occurred to me this year that I never put my paper dolls online anywhere and I sort of wonder why not. At least maybe this will be a treat for anyone too wary of sending a stranger online their address— all of you can print th paper dolls for yourselves. I’ll make plenty of outfits.

So. That’s my plan, I suppose. I’ve cried writing this more than I’ve cried all week, I think because it’s easy to think that I am past the worst of the grieving right up until I have to look head on at the facts again.

hi gina :) i was thinking about this and i wanted to share it with you. i was talking to my friend the other day about larry, and how larry is not meant for everyone. years ago when i entered the fandom, i was sooo obsessed with harry and i knew absolutely nothing about larry. i didn’t even know that larry was a thing. inevitably, when i did find out about it, i was definitely taken aback by it. but i still kept an open mind about everything. i did my research and four years later, i am still a larrie and my opinions have only grown stronger. i feel like some of these solo stans want to see themselves in harry’s ‘gfs’ so they ignore larry and the possibility of him being gay/queer. i will admit that at first i did get pulled into the delusion of harry getting with fans (townes) and i liked that i felt like that could happen to me. though that delusion was VERY short lived and i came to my senses after i found out about larry (and realistically, this is real life and not a wattpad fan fiction). the music industry and closeting is a very complex thing and some people just can’t seem to grasp how cruel the world can actually be. for a while, i actually believed louis was a father because i never looked into it due to people deeming it ‘disrespectful.’ once i actually looked into it, i saw immediately right through it and my opinion has not changed since then. the reason i am a larrie, even through all of the denials and stunts is because i did my research and i have a full and complete understanding of closeting, the stunts, babygate, etc. even if they for some unknown reason decide to split in the future, that will not change the fact that they were at least together at some point and that louis is not a father. he could blab about the kid allll he wants and there will not be a single moment where i believe a word he says. the people that get it, get it, and the people that don’t, don’t.

Yes, I agree with you. I really think there are so many fans who look at things the way you once did and don't want to dig into the facts and have their fantasies ruined. It's really sad to me, but I'm just done fighting about it.

These days, I'm here for the music, my friends, the fics/writing, and to know tour info so I can get tickets. Once upon a time, in addition to all of that, proving that Larry was real, fighting for Harry and Louis to know they were supported, and hoping a coming out was around the corner were all major reasons I was in this fandom. Things change. Fandom is very different now. I'm not interested in stubbornly holding on to something that doesn't exist anymore.

None of that means Harry and Louis aren't together or never were. It just means that their love story isn't the main focus for me these days. And that's because they no longer seem to want it to be.

honestly you have to shake your head at these naive people. The TikTok shows the kids face unaltered. Some Freddie accounts froze the frame and he looks identical to how his brother looked at that age. But that’s the whole key to this farce, the Freddie’s don’t know what Austin looked like at 9/10 even though T has it up so you can do a side by side.

I’ve had some serious bbg feelings and thoughts clearly bubbling to the surface because this turned into a longer one than I thought. Anon, welcome to the show!

It’s just such a lack of critical thinking. But it’s also, like all these stunts, a massive thing of trust with the fan to artist relationship. Fans don’t want to be lied to. They don’t want to believe that their idol is lying to them, they don’t want to believe that the industry is capable of such stunts, and they don’t want to believe question this all because my god it is so much easier just believing everything you’re fed.

There’s also this weird toxic superiority complex that happens within this fandom, where all these solos/people who believe F is his son, believe they are better fans and that that is going to make louis like them more (which is lol). That Larries aren’t real fans because they “disrespect Louis’ family”. And let me tell you - when this all comes out, or any other scandal/stunt happens, Larries are gonna be the ones who stick around. We always have been. The most devoted and kind and loving fans are larries, and I’ve seen that for the last fucking 13 or so years.

Larries, these days at least, don’t gift louis presents related to Larry, we dont ask directly, we don’t push those boundaries because we understand privacy. Giving gifts to him for “his son” and making Instagram accounts for said child, who is still very much a minor, is creepy as fuck. If louis was posting this kid all the time, or was actually being a “super dad” (which like… if you believe louis’ a dad, he sure as hell ain’t a very good one and we’ve discussed that before with those folks just fucking celebrating the bare minimum) and was just… like.. had this kid on Insta all the time and was very loud and every day we’d have content of him, sure. Maybe it’d be a little less weird because he’d be plastering this kid’s face everywhere and making it 100% known. BUT if you believe he’s a dad, you should respect privacy, because louis is a private person, etc. and anyway they contradict themselves every second of every day and it’s extremely amusing, yet sad, to watch.

The narrative of who they’ve decided louis is, strays far from the 1d days. They just entirely don’t acknowledge what he was like back then, what he and Harry were like back then, the radical shift of him being a party boy, BLATANT evidence of stunts and that pregnancy being fake, and just roll with who he is now. And that just doesn’t make sense to me. Harries do it too. They choose what part of their idol exists, what part of their idol’s life matters, and disregard all the stuff those dudes said years ago about privacy and family values and what they wanted for their future and who they are, and were, and wanted to become.

It just also baffles me that they think F is his son because he kinda looks like him. Well… you’re hiring a kid for a closeted artist who’s pretending to be related, you’re not exactly gonna choose a kid who’s gonna look massively different, right? They’re gonna look at the parents and siblings baby photos and go “yes, we could work with this, they look similar”. It’s not rocket science.

And that kid does look soooooo much like his actual blood parents and sibling that it’s indisputable. But no, we get these random DNA family experts or whatever who decide he’s definitely louis’ because clearly everyone’s a professional these days. They ignore the facts and the photoshopping and everything that has come out over the last 9 years to keep up with their narrative.

Also, you simply cannot convince me that kid’s real name is “Freddie Reign”. Louis could sit me down and tell me himself and I wouldn’t believe him. He “named” him that to take the piss out of the whole thing, and prove it’s fake.

I chose this quote for episode two as my favorite because it sheds light on the fact that Louis has to still deal with racist and micro aggressive remarks from people around him, including his own lover, after being turned. All that talking Lestat did about leaving a life of shame and being superior to regular humans once they got back into the real world because at the end of the day, Louis is still a Black man in the Jim Crow south. He's being disrespected at every turn and the one person who said none of it mattered has shown a bit of his true colors as well.

This was a needed line because too many people think any form or lick of power will make you a God, when it's a lot more nuance to that.

Bad Day!!!!

 “I’m trying to find a gallery to host an art exhibition for a graduate with my own master’s degree, but I still can’t find it.  Even though this exhibition will be held at the beginning of next month!”

"Damn it! Doing things by oneself is really tiring," Sansa, a twenty-six-year-old young female graduate student, murmured about the situation she was in.

London, a beautiful city, is a dream place for many people, and Sansa is another resident of this city, her hometown. In fact, the young woman had only been back in London for two years, having studied in America at the age of seventeen before returning to pursue a master's degree in England again. After being away for so long!

At present, Sansa is about to graduate with a master's degree within the next month. However, before she could finish, She must organize an art exhibition for her graduation, and it's been almost a month now!

She hasn't been able to find a gallery to showcase her work yet, probably because this is the art festival season held all over London throughout the month. This makes it very difficult for Sansa to find good galleries, as everyone needs a place to display their work!

Sansa thought… this would be the end for her!

The girl picked up her favorite headphones and put them on, selecting her personal playlist. Her right arm held a drawing board, and her left arm carried a bag filled with books that she had just stopped by to buy.

Adding to her own chaos, she picked up her favorite book, which she hadn't finished reading yet, while on a trip to her favorite restaurant in Soho, central London. She is living in her own world, cutting off the chaos from her surroundings—a world full of music, literature, and pleasure that she easily finds from the letters in front.

Sansa stopped in front of Mr. Louis' shop, located on the corner of Soho Street. She always has a table that she likes to sit at—a wall-mounted table, the only one of its kind. Even though there is another table nearby, not too far apart, her table is the most private of all the tables in the restaurant. Miss Louise always prepared this table for she when she needed it.

'He is the kindest,' she admired the shop owner.

The young woman walked towards her usual table, ready to read books and listen to music. She doesn't usually pay much attention to her surroundings, tending to only care about things that she wants to care about. Everything else is just the air or atmosphere around her.

She placed a drawing board next to the wall, always choosing to sit in the chair on the left. Checking, putting away her headphones, and hanging her bag next to the chair, she picked up the book she had left reading, placing it on the table to wait for further reading.

Sansa noticed that at the table next to her, there was a group of people sitting, but she didn't care much about them. She even got annoyed because she felt a little uncomfortable not being able to sit in private in this area alone.

Before Mr. Louis walked in to welcome her,

"Hello, Sansa," he smiled at the girl as always.

"Hello, Miss Louis."

"How are you today?"

Ah, the expression on her face probably says it all.

"Pretty bad. Many things are not in my favor today," she replied with a sad expression.

"Oh, is there anything in this store that will help you feel better? Do you want it as usual?"

She smiled back at the man around her father’s age who owned the shop.

"Then I’d like a cheeseburger as usual. This time, I’d like something juicy, and I’d like a chocolate milkshake with cheese," she said, winking at him like a close friend.

Sansa really likes the cheeseburgers here. They're so delicious you’ll be begging for you life!

"Sure. I’ll inform the chef to prepare a cheeseburger. The juiciest and most special for you. Wait twenty to thirty minutes, and in a moment, we’ll bring you a milkshake."

"Thank you,"

she thought, even though today was a bad day! At least, she got to eat something delicious to comfort herself!

After finishing ordering food, Sansa picked up the book and continued reading. She likes to read books very much. It’s like it’s her thirty-third organ. The more she reads, the more she enjoys the story. Books often make her feel like she’s immersed in the writing.

"Hello,"

Sansa looked up slightly at the owner of the voice.

"Hello," she replied and continued reading!

"I’m Tom."

The young man introduced himself. Sansa looked up at him again. Tom is considered to be a good-looking man, and his demeanor seems like that of a good-natured person.

She smiled at him but didn’t reply. Pretty bad manners, right? But yes! Sansa doesn’t want to continue talking to Tom. She just wanted to read a book quietly, only by herself!

“What is your name?”

Damn it! She thought, these men! You really are such a pushover. Sigh!… She probably have to respond politely.

“Sansa.”

“I saw you walking with a drawing board. Are you an artist, Sansa?”

“I’m an art major.”

Before she lowered her head and continued reading her book. ‘Shit,’ She thought to herself. She’s not good at talking. It was always difficult for her.

“Oh…wow, that’s really great.” Tom didn’t seem to relent.

“I really want to see your work. Can I have your IG so I can follow your work?”

She thought for a moment before answering him,

“I’m sorry. I don’t use social media.”

Tom’s face looked disappointed. “Then can I have your number instead?”

What is this!? Sansa cursed in thought.

“I only have my personal number, and I still want it to be private. I can’t give it to you; I’m sorry.”

Tom’s face was now extremely disappointed. Before Tom got up, preparing to walk back to his table. “You are very beautiful.”

Tom turned around and spoke before walking away from her table…

Sansa didn’t feel a thing at the compliment. She just kept her head down and continued reading. Because this wasn’t the first time she had encountered a situation like this. And she really doesn’t like it!! From an event just a moment ago, this made she feel a bit uneasy after being interrupted from reading and made her not in the mood to read further.

The young woman took off her leather jacket before folding it thick, then put it on the back. Then, she took out the curling iron, shook and spread it around before leaning back in the chair and relaxing. She raised her face to the soft afternoon sunlight, took a deep breath, and closed her eyes… picking up the book and putting it down to rest her eyes from the light that shines in. And now, her mind is calmer…

On another side, four young men were drinking coffee and talking about the job they had just interviewed for today.

“How was your film interview today, Cillian?” a fellow screenwriter asked, a forty-six-year-old young actor.

“Excellent,” he replied.

While Cillian was talking with his screenwriter friend Steve, his eyes caught sight of a woman! ‘Wow, what a beautiful woman!’

he thought. She had large, bright green eyes, long eyelashes, dark, well-lined eyebrows, a curved nose that complemented her sharp jaw, full, pink lips, slender and chubby. That sharp face fits perfectly with hair that is loosely tied. And there was a small tangled strand of hair. It fell down on her left cheek, making her look so strikingly beautiful that he had to turn and look!

Cillian saw her carrying a pile of things. One hand holding a book, another person holds a large chalkboard. She also had headphones over her ears. He noticed that she wasn't looking or paying attention to anything around her, and he thought that she should definitely come sit at the empty table next to his! Personally, he didn’t want anyone to sit at that table because it will give him and his friends more privacy.

But it’s okay!! It would be good if she came and sat. ‘Because she is quite beautiful.’ That made him feel somewhat satisfied.

The older male actor occasionally glanced at the unknown woman but didn’t pay much attention to her until a man walked up to her.

‘Is he going to be her boyfriend?’ Cillian thought.

His and hers’ tables were not too far apart, allowing him to hear their conversation. And from the conversation, Cillian then knew… that the young man just came to flirt with her. He was quite surprised at the young woman’s expression. Plus, she acted clearly bored. She could deny that young man almost every sentence. If he were that man, he would have given up.

Cillian was surprised when she said that she doesn’t use social media. It was strange for a woman her age that most people are addicted to social media. She refused to give the man her number with the most ingenious reason, he thought, ‘Her are very clever.’

Before he returned to chatting with his tablemates. But then… ‘Fuck?!’ She took off that black leather jacket! His and his tablemates’ eyes immediately turned towards her.

Damn it! He didn’t want to look at all, but he really couldn’t help but glance at the position of the girl and him. It makes the two of them look like they’re sitting next to each other, probably only an arm’s length apart. Making him see her clearly! Her skin is white and smooth, contrasting with the black strapless, making it even more interesting to look at. Her figure is just as beautiful, with her face, especially when she unwrapped her hair and spread it out.

‘Damn!’ he thought, this was one of the most beautiful pictures he had ever seen. Her side view was strikingly beautiful. Her nose was high and slender, sharply contrasting with her jaw. He swallowed. Can’t stop glancing at this beautiful young woman!!!

She stimulated him even more when he smelled a faint scent, soft and sweet. He had never smelled anything like this before.

It’s so mysteriously fascinating?

Cillian thought. This girl is quite interesting. Not from her face or figure, but it’s her personality that doesn’t seem to care about anything. She fell asleep in the middle of the restaurant, took the book and covered her face. It’s like there’s only her in this area. She didn’t even turn to look or pay attention to their table, which really made him feel at ease.

He’s starting to like her!!

Okay so it's probably been said before but it's been rattling around my head, there's a lot of talk about how can louis ever forgive lestat and how can they ever be endgame after the dv of ep 5, but I think that's the point? These 2 are disgusting to one another but they end up together anyway, the bond, their love, transcends mortal morals. One beat the other, one murdered the other(i dont see this second one brought up half as much as i should), as humans we cannot begin to understand how to get past that and for me it's okay.

Perhaps we just have to trust the characters to make their own choices and remember when consuming this type of media monsters are inherently different, they don't follow the same thought process like we do, no matter that louis seems to, he's still one of those monsters at the end of the day!

I'll stop rambling now, that's probably not even coherent 😂

Hey dear! Well... the show (or Louis!) did their/his damnest to make sure that Lestat's killing was justified. :)) And that right there is the crux of it all I think, and that which Daniel has already started to call out in the last episode... it... probably?^^... wasn't. And in the book Louis slowly came to realize that and HERE he also had a few decades to reflect. (Totally apart from Armand.) And yes, for us as humans... this is likely not a relationship that could be saved. But then anyone with a cut throat probably is beyond saving already, and a beating like that, and a fall like that. Oh, and killing every night. You know. But they are vampires. And eternally connected, yes. And that does, totally apart from what we've been shown, change things. Louis can forgive Lestat imho (eventually) because he

a) will learn a few harsh truths still and

b) will learn a lot about the whys of Lestat's behavior. Even if he didn't... (how do I put it) embellish there for reasons.

As the audience will, too. As the book readers did, too. The show is simply following the books here, and I for one really wouldn't worry^^. None of the vampires in the Vampire Chronicles are saints... not even Louis, even though Lestat calls him that. He almost killed Daniel back then for being "disrespectful" (and Armand stopped him lol). Just sayin' :) And yes - art (any kind) is meant to challenge us. Too often in modern media it is all neatly put into boxes already, no thought processes needed. Easy peasy. 'Here's your moralistic summary, now go and be a good boy.' This show is - luckily - different. And if they continue to follow the books - they will continue to be.

(Thoughts) CH 116 Summary

For the most part is consistent with the novel. Novel ver in particular: Brief mention of Lehan. After he visited Lari without permission and found her seaside home in the port town, he’s been visiting her here and there. He knows he’s not welcome, but he still hangs out with her.

I assume despite saying she doesn’t want to see him anymore, Lari is a kind soul who forgives him soon and lets him hang out with her on his days off. To be honest, I didn’t like how Lari “forgave” Lehan so easily, especially after that giant betrayal. I know Lari is a kind soul, but COME ON, you can be angrier?? :(((

MEANWHILE the Manhwa version: Despite Lari telling him to go away, she doesn't want to associate with him, he flat out ignores her. Lehan keeps on sneakily gifting her money, dresses, shoes, gloves etc. Lari knows it’s him, because who else knows her location?? One day she catches him in the act and yells at him to stop - and he’s actually BLUSHING when she says that she knows its him - because again, he’s the only one know knows her location - and is super pleased and blushes at that fact. She tries to return ALL the items as she doesnt want or need them, but he caresses her cheek and says it’s all for her, (he won’t accept returns). Lari slaps his hand away, and repeats, they aren’t family any more, they have no relationship. Lehan dares to announce, with a kiss of her hand, that he wants to start their relationship from the beginning/redo it all. But Lari pulls her hand away and tells him to LEAVE NOW. Yet he says he’ll come again. and She says don’t come back as he thrusts the bouquet of flowers in her arms and runs off before she can yell at him no again.

Some time later, we can see him playing with Lari and the villager kid as the dress up doll with ribbons in his hair and a pearl necklace. Lari, stifling a laugh, says it’s (punishment) because he came even though she told him not to. Lehan says it’s because he sent so many letters, yet she ignored them all. Lari emphasizes because she doesn’t have to reply to them if she doesn’t want to. Lehan says it’s ok, because that gives him an excuse to visit her then. He checks the time and has to go, and tells Lari he’ll be back again when she isn’t tutoring the kid, and again, Lari tells him to don’t come back and is pretty upset about it.

— Thoughts … OK not going to lie, although I wanted Lari to reject Lehan more in the novel version, the manhwa version is absolutely disgusting. Lehan is doing whatever he wants, without any regard for what LARI wants. He’s completely gaslighting her Bellua style, and twists her words to fit what HE wants. She doesn’t want any relationship with him - they’re strangers, yet he interprets it as it’s a good time to start anew, with him being obvious and clear with his feelings. She’s a girl on her own, so she MUST obviously want dresses and accessories and more funds, right? She loves flowers, so here’s a nice bouquet of his favorite flowers.

I think this is intentional, but early on in the series when Lari visits Lehan at the opening ceremony, Lari remembers that Lehan likes yellow daffodils, and when she bought them at a fancy florist shop, she also chose a brown ribbon because it goes along with his hair/as House Bellua. He gifts her the same bouquet from a florist here (how i interpret it). This is absolutely crazy, because he’s gifting her HIS favorite flowers, and a ribbon of HOUSE BELLUA. NOT LARI’s FAVORITE FLOWERS.

The guy completely forgot that episode at the night market in CH 73 ish, where he, Lari, and Riche went and visited Louis’ stall with the wildflowers. He also never noticed she liked wildflowers in general. He didn’t consider giving her what she wanted - she prefers the wildflowers on the side of the road more than perfectly manicured flowers grown in greenhouses.

I just CANNOT with the amount of disrespect he’s showing her. It’s all what HE wants to do for her. It’s completely one-sided. He thinks she NEEDS/WANTs these things, and is being macho and gifting them to her. He thinks she’s playing hard to get or something, and won’t take no for an answer. Again, the manhwa expands on the brief novel scenes. Again, I think it’s done purposely to compare him to Rupert. While Lehan has been requesting breaks often to go visit Lari, Rupert’s seething in jealousy because he can’t visit her. Well, technically he can be just like Lehan and barge in without consent, but Rupert is stuck because he’s respecting her last wish: which is not to see him again. It’s the same thing she told Lehan - she doesn’t want to see either one of them again. Yet Lehan completely ignores it, and is getting drunk on his affections, while Rupert is still miserable as ever without her :( It’s so annoying when Lehan says basically “lol Rupert’s so obvious that he misses her” >_>;;; like why are you rubbing it in? YOU’RE THE ONE WHO CAUSED THIS MESS BY MAKING HER DOUBT RUPERT.

Regarding the wildflowers: While Lehan gifts her HIS favorite flower, Rupert knows full well Lari likes wildflowers after watching over her for so long, and had already changed the garden in front of the main palace to have common wildflowers she’ll like - because she’ll be happy to see them if she ever returns :( (novel detail). Also, CUTE DETAIL where the light in Rupert’s eyes have returned, even just by watching Lari from afar and knowing she’s safe and well. :)) —- last detail: in the novel there’s a mini-joke where Lehan and Louis look pitifully at Rupert because it’s so obvious he misses her that he stalks her from afar like this, and he does this for a few months. BUT HERE, in the manhwa, Lehan’s stalking is just so so bad and creepy that it makes Rupert’s stalking look tame in comparison. At least Rupert is still respecting her wishes, and not ignoring everything she says >:( Ch 117 is the last chapter of season 3….

My opinion on the context behind Louis and Armand in Polynesian Mary's was more or less the same as what you mentioned, but tbh I AM curious as to why Armand possibly (and likely suddenly then) decided to save Daniel from Louis by stopping him from killing Daniel outright. I could easily see Armand say the same things he said to Daniel when Daniel stumbled across Lestat's old sleeping grounds in Devil's Minion (that he can take his tapes, that no one will believe him anyway), as a means to scare him off at first, but I do wonder why Armand suddenly decided to not only momentarily spare Daniel then but also go against Louis in order to save him from immediate death 🤔. I can't imagine Armand caring much for Louis' victims, or for people in general, so the fact that he still decided to save Daniel's life then seems significant, even if he did it without much thought as to why.

At the moment, this is all something I can only go with what we saw happen in the books as to why Armand decided to save Daniel's life from Louis that night. And that is actually because Daniel intrigued Armand.

Now first off, in the book, what happened was that Louis did drink from Daniel in that attack. He drank from Daniel and left him for dead, but Daniel didn't die. Daniel wakes up from it all hours later, Louis now long gone. (The 1994 movie changed it to Louis just attacking Daniel without drinking from him). Daniel then makes his plan to go and find Lestat.

Now, what the show could do is have Louis drink Daniel to the same point as in the books, but have Armand be the one to stop him from fully killing Daniel.

Because, in truth, it's kind of a retcon - in the books - that Louis didn't drink from Daniel and kill him because "the little drink" was something Louis was completely incapable of doing to a human until his power upgrade in Merrick. Until then, Louis always killed his victim when he fed, because he never could not. He didn't have the strength not to.

But I don't think the show is really going to go with that anyway, since we saw Louis do "the little drink" from Damek just fine in EP2.

So the question still remains - why would Armand stop Louis from killing Daniel? And the only reason I can come up with is the exact same reason Armand didn't kill Daniel in the books at first:

Because Daniel knew his name. Daniel knew Armand's name was Armand.

And that very fact fascinated Armand. That someone knew his name, knew what he was, and wasn't dead.

Because, on the whole, it also doesn't really make sense that, in Queen of the Damned, Armand let Daniel go after locking him up for four days. Hell, locking Daniel up - and not just killing him outright after he'd heard the tapes and knew Daniel was making a book out of them - was a bit off at that point I'd say (it'd been almost a century since Armand had last had a human pet of that type by that point). Letting Daniel go, letting Daniel run, was even more off for him IMO.

But I think it's clear Daniel's defiance - demanding the Dark Gift from Armand, even in the face of likely being killed at that moment - intrigued Armand.

The fact that Daniel was adamant that he wouldn't go mad from knowing that vampires were real - that it was all true - also fascinated Armand.

And that final point, that Daniel knew Armand's name and was alive with that knowledge is what tipped things over into Armand deciding that he didn't want to kill Daniel. "Not right now."

In the end, Daniel piqued Armand's interest. That is what initially saved Daniel's life from Armand killing him in New Orleans when they first encountered each other in QotD.

And so, if I had to guess, I think that is probably also what is going to be what has Armand stopping Louis (who was only going to do so because he was angry/felt disrespected by Daniel's ask; before that he was very likely going to let Daniel go, so his interview with Daniel could be published and such) from killing Daniel on the show. That, maybe for the first time in forever, there was this human who not only wasn't afraid but also wasn't going crazy at the revelation of vampires being real. And not only that, he even dared to ask for the Dark Gift.

Heck, from what Louis said about it, Daniel kinda even demanded to be given it.

I can see that alone piquing Armand's interest in Daniel. Because I don't think it's a guess to think it hadn't happened with any other human that Louis had taken back to Divisadero street before.

Before Daniel, the only purpose of bringing humans back there IMO was for Louis to feed on them while they were high, and get high himself off their blood, in order to numb himself. Not casual sex with random hookups - though that probably still happened - and for sure not sitting down and telling his vampiric life story to an eager young journalist.

As to the whole thing about how Daniel would have learned Armand's name when Louis hadn't even gotten to the part of the story that introduced Armand in the show? I can see Louis saying Armand's name out loud when Armand stops him from killing Daniel or something. Very simple, very easy. And Daniel remembering it, even if he does pass out afterward or something.

And so there's that final point - Daniel knowing Armand's name, and still being alive.

So yeah. Just my guess, but I think the show's reason will be the same as the books on this one, at least is my guess right now. And that is that simply put, Daniel intrigued Armand.

As Armand told Daniel before he let him go and told him to start running in QotD:

"I want to see what you do, I want to know what you are."

And I feel that might be what happens with regard to their show versions as well. And why Armand would even bother to step in and save Daniel's life from an angry Louis in the first place.

It's mostly about how their respective images, and the narrative that's been spun around H's relationship with men, have tried to illegitimise H and L's relationship.

Harry is aiming for an androgynous and 'mysterious sexuality' image. They want people to speculate if he's in a relationship with the one he's standing next to, regardless if it's a woman or a man. They encourage it and Harry being friendly with other men, that's not Louis, is also serving to say 'larry isn't real, harry is just a flirty type' or 'larry isn't real, harry is into another man'.

For larries, some of Harry’s relationship with men has created fan wars. Gryles believers were very vocal and constantly fought larries. Nick and H fed into the speculation while H and L's public interactions became almost non-existant. The public narrative was that H left Louis for Nick. The same happened with Xand*r, Br*d and now Alessandro, to lesser extent. Harries who think H might be bi/pan would also rather believe H is with any other man than Louis, because that would mean larries were right (and some of them don't like Louis). So shipping H with other men is a sign that you don’t respect Louis as a worthy partner of H. Since the tabloids are pushing this narrative too, that H is with any other man than Louis, larries don't particularly like it.

With L it's different, because he's so closeted and is going for a laddy image. When Louis smiles at a man or is friendly with handsome men, larries get happy because it's an opening of his closet door and it's him showing signs of his sexuality, instead of yelling at people who dare to insinuate he's anything other than straight. So larries encourage L's interaction with men. The shipping is also harmeless, because it's not picked up by the tabloids or pushed as a narrative. It's also not disrespectful to H because he's actively pushing that type of narrative himself. Us larries know Louis is with Harry so it's all in good fun, shipping L with other men.

Hey you don't need to post this but i really need to rant and you seem like one of the few accounts that won't judge me on here. I genuinely despise what this fandom has become. I hate the fact that the "biggest" or most famous blogs go around saying that it's disrespectful to try and prove Louis and Harry are still together cuz they're clearly the happiest the could be right now. The Louis cancellation. Asian leg was to start in about a week. About 15 hours ago, the promoter posted a bare bones announcement - tour cancelled across all of Asia, refunds will be issued. (There were rumors about this bouncing around twitter yesterday, which is its own problem.) No other info. in that initial announcement. NOTHING from LTHQ or Louis himself. Went about 12 hours before we heard anything. Then it was LTHQ with a post on his official website — we’re sorry, Louis really wanted to do this, and basically nothing else. Still nothing from Louis.

1) people are understandably concerned about Louis and those close to him. Sure he drinks and smokes, but he’s a professional when it comes to touring. Just like Niall. Louis broke his arm twice this past year, kept touring. Fulfilled a performance commitment three days after his mother died Not saying this is exceptional among performers, but just saying this really is unprecedented for Louis.

2) people are pissed at LTHQ. No matter what is going on with Louis, and pls let it be nothing awful, but regardless, the delay in LTHQ’s response is inexcusable. Disrespectful to fans and just pathetic. Their statement should’ve gone out at the same time as the promoter’s announcement. Even if they were ambushed by the announcement, unlikely since twitter knew, it shouldn’t have taken 12 hours to put out a short, basic PR blurb that contained zero substantive info. A high school intern could’ve written it in ten minutes. Not that we have a right to all details, esp with personal stuff, but the content was so basic there is zero excuse for the delay.

Agree with everything you’ve said. We’ve seen how much he absolutely loves it when crowds chant their love for him, or his beauty (so wholesome) or even football chants! Why can’t these people do more of that? But I guess it’s just an established fact now that the US crowds are what you have to bear if you want to have the pleasure of experiencing latam crowds later. And you’re right about why he starts there too, so that the crowds progressively (majorly) keep getting better and he can ensure that both him and the fans have a good time.

THE VOICES incoherent blabbering

okay now that I have a space to openly be annoying and a really good grammar-checker, I WILL make it everyone's problem all of the thoughts that curse my mind. Starting off strongly with IWTV, I want to talk about Claudia for a tiny bit because I've been thinking about her more and more after reading the books, and I'd like to point out how HARD it is to actually reflect on Claudia's position on the books, especially because of Louis! He failed her so deeply in all ways; as a father, as a companion, as a stranger, as a lover, as a narrator, EVERYTHING. Louis was never meant to talk about Claudia, it was never about her and it has never been, and will never be. For Louis, Claudia might have been a child, a daughter he learned to love and care for, but she was never more than a plot device in his story throughout the whole book, even when he admits to having failed her. As I'm talking about the book, I will point out that Louis was insufferable and he always tries to come out of the situations as a victim, so I believe that whatever really happened to Claudia was probably worse than what he says, or just with a different pace of what he describes, since we don't have diaries to "fact-check", or even her. I miss her very dearly and she would've EATEN Louis' ass on this interview, I miss my babygirl sm

Claudia was no fool, she knew that she would never fulfill Louis' needs, and that's the reason why she "decided" to "abandon" the spot as his companion. In the books, Claudia was around 6 when she was turned, with no possibility of surviving on her own without causing alarm wherever she went, due to her size and apparent age, as well as walking like a doll alone in the dark, she would've been easily noticed wherever she went. After arriving in France, she had to flee after Armand THREATENED to kill her right in front of Louis, while they checked each other out. Louis didn't believe her (he had JUST met Armand, they talked like once and were all over each other like some horny teenagers), so Claudia had to actually leave (and she was killed with Madeleine before they could accomplish their escape; poor thing, she wasn't happy anywhere her whole life). In France, we have a quote from Louis' interview that reads (I'm translating it directly from Portuguese, so the quote might not be the same from the English books):

"So what did I feel then for Armand, the creature for whom I'd transformed Madeleine, the creature for whom I had wanted to be free?"

Notice how that was never about Claudia for Louis. Notice how he "wanted to be free", free from Claudia! His immortal companion! His daughter! Even being a "trap" child, Claudia was still his daughter, she was still to be loved by him, due to all the abuse they've suffered together with Lestat, all the horrors and disrespect, the danger, the violence they've gone through with Lestat, they were bonded together for their immortal life; and yet, Louis chose AGAIN a MAN (a boy, actually) over Claudia. First, by not stopping Lestat from turning her; letting her live after draining her blood for the first time. Second, by not burning Lestat's body after supposedly killing him for the first time, just burying it in the swamps. Third, by not believing her when she said the danger that was waiting for her if they stayed in Paris, a danger that Louis chose over her, the fourth betrayal he's made that put her in the position of second plan in his life; again and again, he's chosen over her, and even when she wants to be set free, because that was her true intention, that's made to be about Louis' want to be set free. How dare he?

Not only that, but her life in New Orleans was also terrible; her existence was considered to be the only thing keeping Lestat's and Louis' marriage together, and living a life sharing moments with both her parents was the closest she's been to actually being happy for some time, considering that it was insufficient after years and years of growing and being stuck in a body that she physically could not change.

I also love the relationship she has with Lestat as well, and I do believe in him when he says in the books that he mourned her loss so deeply. Lestat's relationship with Claudia was very similar to common depictions of troubled mother-daughter relationships; he had turned her at such a young age, he didn't really mind or pay much attention to the fact that she was too young. But as she grew and became so much like him, he started to feel regret for creating her in such a mindless way, guilty of not loving this small and yet-to-surface facet of him, of using her to keep Louis. And all the potential he saw in her small and underdeveloped body was trapped because of him, of his selfishness, his fear of abandonment, his love and longing for Louis' love. That took a strong toll on their relationship, as well as the fact that Lestat was/is a deeply narcissistic character, and Claudia grew tired of his countless tantrums, selfishness, and carelessness. He taught her how to hunt, but she was eager for more, so much more; she wanted to know the past, the origins, what they truly were, and why she was the way that she was. And it all led to a conflict between two equals, headbutting each other and not realizing they were just alike, just the same. And Lestat admits to that later on in his book.

I've said enough now, been writing this for the past half hour and now I'm tired. There's still a lot to say about her, but that's all by now.
